Transcript
- 0:00Happy Saturday morning, everybody, and we are right in
- 0:04the middle of Germany at one of the most incredible racing
- 0:08museums I've ever been to in my life.
- 0:10Meet my new friend. This is Gregor Mieser.
- 0:15So where are we at? Well, we are here in the middle
- 0:19of Germany, basically 100 kilometer north of Frankfurt,
- 0:24and it's a very small place and it is the National Auto Museum.
- 0:29It belongs to one guy. His name is Friedhelm Lowe Loh,
- 0:35and he's a self-made billionaire and he's been into collecting
- 0:38cars like you would not believe it.
- 0:41So I thought this would be the perfect coffee with Kenny,
- 0:43because yes, it's exactly what you would expect.
- 0:47You know, Michael Schumacher's Ferrari car, all the, oh, hold
- 0:51on, all the Ferrari stuff. But as we were going through the
- 0:57museum, I saw this Earnhardt I Rock car, and then I saw the
- 1:05Jeff Gordon car. So immediately I text Ray
- 1:11Ebernam because I believe you told me yes, Ray Ebernam sold
- 1:14those to. Him.
- 1:16Immediately, Ray Ebernam says, hey, those are good guys.
- 1:19Yes, they sold them a couple cars, but these cars are so
- 1:24incredible. There's got to be a billion
- 1:27dollars in here, it seems like hundreds of millions of dollars
- 1:30worth of incredible race cars. But let's take a walk.
- 1:33We're going to end up at another IROC car.
- 1:37Let's go, Gregor, let's go. So we got the Earnhardt car.
- 1:42And look here, you talk about diversified.
- 1:45We got the Jeff Gordon car. And listen, this place is so
- 1:50big, we're not going to be able to eat everything.
- 1:51But I really like things like this, OK?
- 1:54This is a Mercedes motor, but it shows you how the drive shaft
- 1:58runs through and then there is the rear end.
- 2:01Really unique things like this. Let's go to some highlights,
- 2:05Gregor, because we can only go 8 minutes.
- 2:06That's all we want to do. This car right here.
- 2:09I mean, they got like, look at this.
- 2:12This stuff is unbelievable. We're going to go down here to
- 2:16Ferrari. We're going to make a loop.
- 2:20Look at this right here, Michael Schumacher, look at this stuff,
- 2:27would you? And then one of the Ferrari
- 2:30original haulers. What do you got to say?
- 2:33What? Well, this is over.
- 2:35Here have a look at this the most successful Ferrari Formula
- 2:39One car ever ever made, driven by Michael Schumacher.
- 2:42It's also a a pre winning car of course.
- 2:46Right there, Michael Schumacher, seven time world title, right?
- 2:52And. Look at that.
- 2:53Hold on one minute. I got to show everybody.
- 2:57Tell me. Keep going.
- 2:58Yeah, well. This this car has from 11
- 3:01starts, this Formula One Ferrari has seven No 8 victories,
- 3:06actually 8 victories. So this is the most successful
- 3:09chassis, Michael. How did this guy, how did this
- 3:11man get these real race cars? This I don't know.
- 3:15This I wouldn't know. He did it though.
- 3:18Well, but this one over there with the number 12, very
- 3:21interesting car. That's Niki Lauda.
- 3:23Exactly. But this is the very Ferrari,
- 3:25the very chassis that Niki Lauda took for his first Grand Prix.
- 3:29Grand Prix victory, Spain, 1974. We, we think we know wealthy
- 3:38people. There's some people over here in
- 3:40Europe who got some real money. So one thing I like about this
- 3:44Ferrari over here now, this is who you think he bought this
- 3:48from? You think he bought that hauler
- 3:50from Enzo? Enzo Ferrari?
- 3:52I mean, how did he get that hauler?
- 3:54I wouldn't know. I wouldn't know how he got it,
- 3:56but. It's money, baby.
- 3:58It's a pretty original hauler. You say hauler.
- 4:01Yeah, We call it we a truck. It's it's a hauler.
- 4:04We. Would say transporter.
- 4:06Transporter. Yeah, well, that's a nicer way
- 4:08of saying it. Let's go look at this baby now.
- 4:11This is real to the maximum peak.
- 4:15Tell me about this car. What do you think about that
- 4:17car? Well, there's also a classic
- 4:19Ferrari, but it hasn't got a it hasn't got a 12 cylinder engine.
- 4:23It has got a six cylinder engine, but it's the very
- 4:27chassis that won the Tiger Florio in Sicily.
- 4:30Oh my gosh. But also.
- 4:32It's beat up, you know it's the real deal.
- 4:34It is absolutely with all the patent.
- 4:36I also won the 1000 kilometer at the Nurburgring way back in.
- 4:41When was? It early 60s.
- 4:43So. So this car won Nurburgring.
- 4:48My God. OK, let's go over here.
- 4:49I want to show you my favorite car.
- 4:52I listen, I don't have I don't have a selfie stick or anything
- 4:55like this. I want to get over here because
- 5:00when I was a kid growing up, there was cars that I remembered
- 5:05this number 26 over here. I remember this type of car.
- 5:09And this is a bad boy. And do you think this is the
- 5:12most expensive car in this area? I reckon it is people over here
- 5:18who run the museum. They don't talk about prices,
- 5:21but I know for sure one of these P3 Ferrari had been sold at
- 5:26auction for roughly $60 million. 6060. 60, not 1660. 6 O My hair
- 5:37is a little messed up because I just ran Nurburgering a little
- 5:39bit ago. All right, let's take a look at
- 5:41it. We've talked about it now here
- 5:43it is. All right at 26 right there.
- 5:47Man, that's a bad ass car. When I was a kid growing up.
- 5:51Look at these Ferraris, huh? When I was a kid growing up,
- 5:56this is when I would have little slot car tracks like HO tracks.
- 6:00This, this is what I just thought was so incredible.
- 6:03Look here. Ferrari 3/30/1966 Look at that
- 6:10huh? Well, 1967 Daytona 24 hour
- 6:13winner. Hold on, let's say it again.
- 6:15Yeah. Come here, turn around.
- 6:17OK, I'm just reading. Yeah, I want you to say it
- 6:19again. Now go ahead and read it.
- 6:20What did it say? Now It's it's. 1967 Daytona 24
- 6:25hour. Yeah.
- 6:26Triple victory. Triple.
- 6:28Yeah, triple. Then this.
- 6:30Kind of Monza and spa. Monza Spa 1966 that very.
- 6:34Shusty, look at that bad boy. And also took part in the 24
- 6:37hour race at Le Mans, so it's. It's it's Le Mans.
- 6:42How do you say, say it again? Le Mans.
- 6:44Le Mans say, I want to hear you all say, say Le Mans.
- 6:47All right, let's keep on going down here.
- 6:50We're going to turn the phone around.
- 6:53This place is incredibly vigorous.
- 6:55Scutoni. Scutoni, we've been here way too
- 7:01long. We're going on, we've been in
- 7:03here 3 hours, 3 hours for Earnhardt, and we're about
- 7:07emptying this place out there. Like, can y'all leave there?
- 7:10There's security up there. Michael Schumacher Yeah, Look,
- 7:19what kind of car were that? Was that like AV8 car?
- 7:21Well. This is that one over there.
- 7:23Yeah, this one. This is an Audi RS5, Yeah, and
- 7:29it's been the championship winning.
- 7:32Championship. Championship.
- 7:33Winning. Let's keep walking, yeah?
- 7:35In DTM. DT.
- 7:37M couple of times, but this one is I think from 2016.
- 7:41OK our our objective is to get down here and finish with the
- 7:47IROC car, the cutaway IROC car. So we're going to keep walking.
- 7:50Let's. Go.
- 7:51Look at these cars up here. It would take me an hour to show
- 7:55you this incredible. Tell me the name of this museum
- 7:59again, Gregor. The National Auto Museum, and if
- 8:04you pronounce it in German, it is Nacionalis Auto Museum.
- 8:08I like that speak. Hey, speak German to me.
- 8:11OK, just. Say hello everybody.
- 8:13Something like that. Hello everybody.
- 8:16No, no, Satan, German. Yeah, hello.
- 8:19The NASCAR community over there in America, it's fantastic.
- 8:24Does Kenny hears it have been here as Ken Giland it has made
- 8:27him and quotes an e-mail contact on Hamilton Scott Rothen on
- 8:30Saddam Eklasian Freshina Zahn on have been done out here and this
- 8:35was the younger part. What?
- 8:36What did you just say? Well, that.
- 8:39That basically. That we.
- 8:41Met up the e-mail. Up by e-mail?
- 8:44Yeah, let's go and. OK, that.
- 8:47We met recently and that I gave you all the suggestions what to
- 8:51do. Yes, you did.
- 8:52You did. You did a wonderful job and we
- 8:54appreciate you. OK look here, these are some bad
- 8:57ass cars. Lamar winning cars.
- 8:59Lamar winning cars, yeah, OK as well.
- 9:03Yeah, no, and we can't see it that much, but my favorite car
- 9:06is up there, that 18. That is an awesome car.
- 9:10You can't. You can barely see it.
- 9:11Porsche 917. Hold on, it was a Porsche 970 on
- 9:15top. On top up there.
- 9:17OK, look here, everybody. There it is.
- 9:20We're all the way over here in Germany.
- 9:22Guess whose name's on this car? Brother Rusty.
- 9:26Because Rusty won an I Rock championship.
- 9:30So Ray Abraham, there it is, baby brother Rusty.
- 9:36All the I Rock champions, Allison, Earnhardt, Elliot.
- 9:39Look at that. Is that awesome one?
- 9:42We're going to go right around here.
- 9:43This is the cutaway car Evernamba Ray Overham did a good
- 9:47job, really nice real cutaway car oil cooler, oil filter.
- 9:54This is what's interesting. You know a lot of things
- 9:56Cutaway, Cutaway Bilstein shock valve covers.
- 10:00What's interesting about this car is the dry sump tank is all
- 10:04the way in the back like we used to do it.
- 10:06The oil goes all the way up here with the oil pump, through the
- 10:12motor, you know, through the oil filter, through the MO 9 oil
- 10:17cooler and then it comes all the way back.
- 10:23That's wild. Hey, buddy, how you doing?
- 10:25Good to see you, man. They're like that's somebody's
- 10:29crazy. OK, we're going to go here.
- 10:32We're going to end everybody because I want to get a good
- 10:34look at this car that. Now listen, we can go on and on,
- 10:38but we're at 10 minutes. I like stuff like this.
- 10:41They show you this is the modern type car now and this is almost
- 10:45like the next Gen. NASCAR where the clip is bolted
- 10:49on. But this is this is the era
- 10:52we're in now and this is a really good look at the era.
- 10:55So you got the middle of the car, all carbon fiber and the
- 10:59rears bolted on in the front is just crush because the motors in
- 11:04the rear. Now let's go up these.
- 11:08We're going to go up these steps and we're going to be done.
- 11:09Hang on right there. There it is.
- 11:11There's my baby. You see that car up there?
- 11:14I just love that car. And the reason I like that car
- 11:17so much is that's the car. That's what I kind of grew up
- 11:20with. I was born in I was born in
- 11:231963. Yeah, this is from 1970.
- 11:26Yeah. So.
- 11:27So that would have been right. Yeah, Yeah.
- 11:28Yeah. OK, all right.
- 11:33Say goodbye everybody. Goodbye everybody.
