- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh no, Well, Charlie Gasprino, the best business reporter on Earth.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Of course, you see him on the Fox Business Network,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and you can read his columns the New York Post
- 0:11Speaker 1: and and make sure you get his book. You'll love
- 0:14Speaker 1: this book. It's called Go Woke, Go Broke, big bestseller.
- 0:17Speaker 1: You can get it at Amazon. Go Woke, Go Broke,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Charlie Gasbarno, How you doing good?
- 0:24Speaker 2: I just read that Don Lemmon got arrested.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Well, it's it's it's great, But aren't you worried that
- 0:32Speaker 1: this could make him into a big martyr, This could
- 0:34Speaker 1: make him into a big TV star all over again.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I don't know, Don Lemon will screw up anything. He
- 0:44Speaker 2: was like a normal human being. I'd be like, yeahs
- 0:49Speaker 2: like once recently as a matter of fact. I mean
- 0:52Speaker 2: he was like, seemed like a nice guy. I just
- 0:56Speaker 2: don't what he did in that church and some of
- 0:59Speaker 2: his other antics just so stupid. I don't don't quite
- 1:03Speaker 2: understand it. It's I mean, okay, like, listen, you cover stories,
- 1:10Speaker 2: but are do you partake in the story like he
- 1:14Speaker 2: kind of He definitely kind of stepped over the line
- 1:18Speaker 2: and in it's such a horrible way because all as
- 1:20Speaker 2: they were doing was harassing poor people at church. It
- 1:23Speaker 2: wasn't like these was a clan rally or anything. These
- 1:26Speaker 2: are a bunch of Christians who are sitting there praying
- 1:29Speaker 2: to God while these assholes come in off the street
- 1:33Speaker 2: started using them and their kids. And he made it
- 1:36Speaker 2: sound like, you know, it was MLKA coming across the
- 1:40Speaker 2: Edmund Pettis Bridge.
- 1:41Speaker 1: You know, well, if you read the line, it's pretty specific.
- 1:45Speaker 1: You're not allowed to do anything to intimidate or interfere
- 1:48Speaker 1: with the service. It's pretty clear it.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they you know, I just wonder, you know,
- 1:56Speaker 2: I mean, I wonder if he could fall behind that
- 1:58Speaker 2: that First Amendment stuff. But although it seemed like he
- 2:01Speaker 2: was so part of it, and just I wonder he
- 2:05Speaker 2: was giving him advice to do this stupid stuff because
- 2:07Speaker 2: it's really dumb. I mean, it's really really dumb. And
- 2:12Speaker 2: I don't think and this is why I don't think
- 2:14Speaker 2: he'll be a martyr on this mark. It's so stupid.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Even Lefty because indeed will say it's stupid what he did.
- 2:21Speaker 1: All right, that's a good point, Kevin, wash, Are we
- 2:26Speaker 1: happy with this?
- 2:28Speaker 2: I am. I think this is a great choice. I mean,
- 2:31Speaker 2: so I wrote a story I don't remember. It was
- 2:33Speaker 2: a couple of about a month ago that a bunch
- 2:35Speaker 2: of CEOs went to Trump and said, listen, if you're
- 2:38Speaker 2: gonna go there, do not pick you know, if you
- 2:43Speaker 2: can get rid of of Howell, do not pick ascid
- 2:45Speaker 2: Kevin Hassen. And Kevin Hassen's a nice guy's a smart guy,
- 2:49Speaker 2: but he's way too much of a cheerleader. I mean, well,
- 2:51Speaker 2: you kind of needs somebody that is seen as independent because,
- 2:56Speaker 2: you know, whether we like it or not, we sell
- 2:58Speaker 2: a lot of debt. You know, we're still running two
- 3:01Speaker 2: trillion dollar budget deficits. If the FED is seen as
- 3:04Speaker 2: not independent, someone that's gonna FED share is gonna, you know,
- 3:07Speaker 2: on the phone with Trump, juice in the economy, whatever
- 3:10Speaker 2: Trump wants. You know, people are just not gonna buy
- 3:12Speaker 2: your debt because it's gonna inflation is gonna erod. It's
- 3:16Speaker 2: it's uh, it's buying it's it's it's uh investment advantage.
- 3:23Speaker 2: So you you need someone that that's kind of like
- 3:26Speaker 2: in the middle. And Kevin Walsh really is an independent guy.
- 3:29Speaker 2: He's a long time inflation hawk, got that back up.
- 3:32Speaker 2: My guess is he will agree with Trump and lower
- 3:35Speaker 2: short term rates fast. Uh. He will do other things
- 3:39Speaker 2: to mitigate the inflation impact of that, which is, you know,
- 3:45Speaker 2: unwinding the Fed's massive ballad sheet. It control it holds
- 3:49Speaker 2: all these assets and he needs to sell them. That
- 3:52Speaker 2: will keep that will keep the lid on interest rates.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And I think it's a and I know the guy
- 3:57Speaker 2: just full disclosure. I know my life. I've known a
- 3:59Speaker 2: few years, really smart, decent man. I mean, this is
- 4:02Speaker 2: a good a good choice, really good.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Well, that's that's good here. But do we want to
- 4:07Speaker 1: feed him in the talkish?
- 4:11Speaker 2: It depends on the walks. Well, do you like inflation?
- 4:15Speaker 1: No, I'm not not crazy about it. No.
- 4:17Speaker 2: So, I mean, inflation is probably the worst thing for
- 4:21Speaker 2: one of the worst things for an economy because it
- 4:23Speaker 2: really destroys the social fabric. If you're an average person
- 4:27Speaker 2: and you work like really hard, but you still can't
- 4:30Speaker 2: afford food, which inflation gives you. And that's kind of
- 4:33Speaker 2: the problem that Biden had. And by extent, Aris, you know,
- 4:38Speaker 2: you've got a real societal problem. And I and I
- 4:41Speaker 2: think that's what he's good at. I mean, I think
- 4:43Speaker 2: he'll understand that there is a dual mandate it's inflation
- 4:49Speaker 2: first in the context of full employment. He understands that.
- 4:54Speaker 2: And if you want to spur the economy, that's where
- 4:58Speaker 2: you got fiscal policy coming out of the way. Yes,
- 5:01Speaker 2: And I think this is kind of what with the
- 5:03Speaker 2: FED lost track of the FED under Powell became like
- 5:06Speaker 2: part of the the sort of the fabric of fiscal
- 5:11Speaker 2: policy and and and White House policy. And he can't
- 5:14Speaker 2: be engaged in ESG and DEI and all these radical
- 5:19Speaker 2: leftist clauses. And I think, you know, I think war
- 5:23Speaker 2: Wash understands. I know he understands that. So I think
- 5:26Speaker 2: he will he will give Trump what he wants, lower
- 5:30Speaker 2: short term interest rates, which I don't understand why he's
- 5:32Speaker 2: so obsessed with that, because the short term interest rates
- 5:35Speaker 2: really mean little. It's the ten year that means a lot.
- 5:38Speaker 2: And that's all based on plation expectations. That's where all
- 5:40Speaker 2: the consumer rates are pegged off of. Yeah, be that
- 5:44Speaker 2: as a may He'll play the game and he'll do it. Well,
- 5:46Speaker 2: I guess all right.
- 5:47Speaker 1: That's good to hear. Hey, mom, Donnie has been in
- 5:49Speaker 1: office now for two three weeks and a lot of
- 5:51Speaker 1: people are saying, well it seems okay, nothing bad but
- 5:54Speaker 1: what what how do you read the mom Donnie situation.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I mean, know, he's a horrible moron. I mean.
- 6:05Speaker 1: That's announ.
- 6:08Speaker 2: But literally right, he doesn't he didn't want the cops
- 6:10Speaker 2: to get rid of the homeless guys off the streets
- 6:12Speaker 2: and some zero weather or guess what they died. I mean,
- 6:15Speaker 2: the guy is a complete idiot. If he was this
- 6:18Speaker 2: was anybody, when an R next to its name, the
- 6:21Speaker 2: New York Times would be running front page stories about
- 6:24Speaker 2: how he needs to be the one thing. I wrote
- 6:28Speaker 2: about this in the Post today, and I've been writing
- 6:30Speaker 2: about this a lot. There's a lot that he can't
- 6:33Speaker 2: do because of a guy named Hugh Carry, a former governor,
- 6:37Speaker 2: a guy named Felix rohat And who was a former
- 6:40Speaker 2: financier the public but you know, you know, dedicate his
- 6:43Speaker 2: life the civic work in New York City and basically
- 6:47Speaker 2: bringing the city back after the financial crisis of the seventies.
- 6:51Speaker 2: They created the structure where he can't run budget deficits
- 6:55Speaker 2: or else you lose control of the budget. The state
- 6:56Speaker 2: takes it over. It's almost impossible going to the bond
- 7:01Speaker 2: olders get first DIBs on tax revenues. Even before it
- 7:05Speaker 2: goes to pay all these programs. You can raise taxes,
- 7:09Speaker 2: but you need the state to raise for you. In
- 7:12Speaker 2: many ways. If you lose population because you raise taxes
- 7:16Speaker 2: and the state agrees to it, well guess what. Then
- 7:19Speaker 2: you have budget deficits. And if you run a deficit
- 7:22Speaker 2: the end of the year, because you will lose control
- 7:26Speaker 2: of the budget, it goes to the state. So all
- 7:29Speaker 2: those handcuffs are on even a comedie like Mandami. I
- 7:34Speaker 2: think even in munisful bond prices. By the way, you
- 7:38Speaker 2: need debt in New York City. It's very I just
- 7:40Speaker 2: wrote about this is very is very flat right now.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I mean the price is our movement. It's they're high,
- 7:46Speaker 2: they're off a little bit. So anyway, that's where we
- 7:50Speaker 2: are right now. It'll be interest to see what he does.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, Mandami, even when it doesn't come
- 7:54Speaker 2: to taxes and all that can really recavoc on the
- 7:57Speaker 2: city and culturally in somebody other way. He's obviously, I
- 8:01Speaker 2: just worry about these ice protests coming to New York
- 8:04Speaker 2: and every soon because you have the same sort of
- 8:06Speaker 2: political dynamic as you have in Minnesota. Minnesota have a
- 8:09Speaker 2: bunch of leftists really crave and leftists, including a moron
- 8:13Speaker 2: as Governor Tim Watson almost became our vice president, you know,
- 8:17Speaker 2: Eggan on these violent leftist protesters. You could see someone
- 8:22Speaker 2: like Mandami doing the same because he's cut from that
- 8:25Speaker 2: cloth cloth as. By the way, these protesters are people.
- 8:29Speaker 2: They aren't just like protesting. These are trained, near militia
- 8:34Speaker 2: style trained leftist anarchists. So I think I'm worried about
- 8:41Speaker 2: that coming to the city more than even like him
- 8:44Speaker 2: raising taxes.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we should stop using the word protester.
- 8:49Speaker 1: That implies you're standing there across the street with a
- 8:51Speaker 1: sign and yelling, but when you're spitting in their face,
- 8:53Speaker 1: they're kicking the tail light out of their car. That
- 8:56Speaker 1: that's behind a protester, isn't it's yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I mean you saw the one that was shot right, Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 2: I mean the Americans die. That guy was out of
- 9:06Speaker 2: his mind. I mean, he's a crazy protester. I mean,
- 9:11Speaker 2: and by the way, who shows up, you know, I can't.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I want to respect the dead Alex Pretty or Predo,
- 9:18Speaker 2: whatever his name is. And I see you nerves were
- 9:21Speaker 2: supposed to elective. Believe this guy came a lot became
- 9:26Speaker 2: he was he had two two backup rounds on a
- 9:31Speaker 2: concealed weapon when he was getting an attacking cops. What
- 9:37Speaker 2: does that tell you? I mean, that's that's pretty pretty wild.
- 9:44Speaker 2: If he asked me very aggressive.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And if you saw police carrying out an operation, who
- 9:49Speaker 1: has the nerve to go over there and try to
- 9:50Speaker 1: stop it? Interfere with it? That takes a hell of
- 9:52Speaker 1: a lot of nerve.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Which a loaded weapon.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Yeah, what is that? Charlie Gasperino, great talking. Hey, if
- 10:04Speaker 1: anybody out there doesn't have the book, go woke, go broke.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Get this book. You're gonna love it. And are you
- 10:10Speaker 1: doing TV today?
- 10:12Speaker 2: No, because I'm barely see all you got back my voice?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Oh okay? Well, otherwise you see him all over the
- 10:18Speaker 1: Fox Business Network doing the great reporting, read his columns
- 10:22Speaker 1: New York Post, and make sure you follom on Twitter.
- 10:25Speaker 1: He is one of the best tweeters on earth. Charlie
- 10:27Speaker 1: Gasparino at Twitter. Charlie, thanks for being.
