- 0:07St. Louis Cardinals faced the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, April 12, 1955.
- 0:13The Cardinals were an average team, having failed to win the pennant in almost 10 years after winning the World Series three times in the 1940s.
- 0:20They were coached by Eddie Stanky in his final year as Cardinal Skipper,
- 0:24and powered by All-Stars Red Shandies Stan Measle in 1954 Rookie of the Year Wally Moon.
- 0:31The Cubs were a struggling team, below 500 and never finishing about fifth place in nearly a decade.
- 0:37In 1955 they were coached by Stan Hack, who had little to work with other than future Hall of Famer Ernie Banks,
- 0:43who had just finished in second place for Rookie of the Year in 1954.
- 0:47This audio recording is from the St. Louis Radio broadcast, featuring announcers Harry Carey and Jack Quinlan.
- 0:53We apologize for the audio quality of this game. A lot of these older recordings can be quite muffled,
- 0:58but it's the only recording of this game known to exist,
- 1:01so hopefully it provides some enjoyment as a unique view at 1950s baseball.
- 1:24That's only the place.
- 1:35The first one to be a first. He's starting to get some gear too. He's a target. He's starting to get far here.
- 1:5520 of years. I would guess he's planning his 20th year as a pitcher. So who's that on the line?
- 2:06Well, they're still pulling it out. It's raining here yesterday, we have that rain over in Cincinnati too.
- 2:16More rain and more jams, but the struggle is back to doing it much earlier today.
- 2:25In the first four years, I see Kay Bragg here.
- 2:47Gale White in the center, thank you Bob Olson Wright.
- 2:54The umpire is still in touch with the rambles, meanwhile Harry C. DeWalman has dropped his out of the line a lot of the way.
- 2:59I think it's going to be a good thing that we have Dean Olson and Josh Pringlin around in the head because I don't know how long they're going to hold up after yesterday's 2-hour 42-minute call again.
- 3:25Bob Watergate walked down the first lane for a long way and the second lane was done by Frank Picari.
- 3:31He was gone with different kite he had got to Skytree Hall two, went down, and lost the first gram.
- 3:55the field. We see the title 13 before. There is Wally Moan. Last year's lucky leader. Wally
- 4:02Moan coming in the batter's box. He has three all fours, four homers. Well here, the first
- 4:09looks like he was going to block. He was high on his side, but he left it go by and it's
- 4:16all one. One and all. Walsh, call, ball better. Okay, Johnson's playing off the line. He's
- 4:23going to get to the end of the grass. Looking down, he got the side again. The end field
- 4:29is drawing in a little bit. A fast man up at the plate. He's a lineup. But next up, the
- 4:34ground ball between first and second. Bobby comes up, the pitch is covered. There's the
- 4:37foul. He's down. Got it. Wow. The ground ball to the three, Bobby. He's not going to
- 4:43touch the finish. The cover. It's far away. That brings up Bill Burton, a rookie up for
- 4:51the backfield field. He's got 3-33. A close two homers. A 98 run battered in from left
- 4:58field to Missouri. So they report an April 5th, Michigan. The empty is about to fade
- 5:06away. Ball is down. He got the side. He's got to get the line up. It comes to Bill Burton
- 5:13and the ball. A little offside. I'd rather he's in the ball. Well, it comes right up
- 5:21to there. We're leading the night. The league rides a moment. And we'll continue to do so.
- 5:26If they win today, it's like Milwaukee's just about to go and gain left in the night. The
- 5:30league. They just play the right drive. They make the stop. The goal. D is late. A beautiful
- 5:37play by Banks, though. 30-0. They had a terrific play to their left. The 9-second base on
- 5:44through. Burton will be 35 feet out from a baseman. Beautiful play by Banks, all of
- 5:49them. They did almost impossible stop on that ball. His ball is a fashionable second
- 5:56shooter. That brings up the first baseman, Sam the Bear. He has to have a home base here,
- 6:08although he has played quite a bit of first base. The league is one of the good first
- 6:12bases in the league. That's a solid first base. Burton goes back on the base. He'll
- 6:18be alive here at 3.30. That's 35 honors and 126 runs out of him. That's a nice pitch.
- 6:24Right down to the right field foul line for a clear ball. This is a play that's very
- 6:30great to go out second on the way to 30. Brown is turning the way home. He'll just
- 6:34round his second. Burton's going to third. He holds up a second base with a right wide
- 6:38double to the right field ball. Just in to his face. And a run is in. Daly Mills will
- 6:46be a right wide double to the extreme right field runner. A ball is just in to this side
- 6:54of the foul line. And a run is in. And Sam the Man gets his first hit of 19.55. That
- 7:00brings up Rip Laboussky to the right fielder. Laboussky gets 2.83 for just last year. He's
- 7:10got 19 homers and 79 runs out of there. Right around second base now with one run across
- 7:16from the play field. It comes to one big up. It's like a rubber church. Here's Reddy.
- 7:22Here's the pitch. A wide one up around his shoulders. A ball is in. The last Philly
- 7:28game, the Pittsburgh-Brooklyn game and the Washington-Yetke game all ready to go today.
- 7:34A shot to the opening in Cleveland. Lawson at Baltimore and he's quite a fancy kid.
- 7:40This man, he's up at Milwaukee in Saturday City. Ball one, no strike Daly. He's just
- 7:46tied up by the ball. Makes his ball too. Ball two, no strike. There out he goes with strong
- 8:04ball. A long ball ball is ready here. A far ball out to the right. He's going over. He's
- 8:16enjoying Aubrey's calling for it. That's it. That's what we do. Very speedy from that.
- 8:38Here is a great little ball. He'll feel that second base, one run in at the top of the
- 8:50first inning. And Red, Shady, the batter's left. Better have he done the little trouble.
- 8:56It helps to be a hit and a good solid line drive coming in. Ball. Ball one, no strike.
- 9:06Well, McCargel's a jump out of his spot here in the very first inning. However, he's just
- 9:14deep in the first inning. Long way to go. So what do you think of father's here? One
- 9:18run back to the eighth inning. They wide and out back on it. Shady, Shady backs the ball
- 9:24and goes out. One and one. Well, that area used to be too much stuff for McCargel. He
- 9:33got a little trouble with Merton and Mugil. He won't be the last one to have any trouble
- 9:41with him either. Ball one, strike one. There's the next place he's standing. Not a
- 9:47bad idea. Ball two and a got it two of one. Ball two and strike one, Shady. Number two
- 10:03in the back of the third round of the uniform. Oh, this kid is a great little ball player.
- 10:07Yeah, Mugil, our movement ace running around there looks good. There's the windup. The
- 10:11reaction of the ball is a fake over the first base. Well, that's the third to first and
- 10:19it's one run up to it. Well, that is one man left on. And it's dark. He has to stop
- 10:25out of the first inning. How did he bring this to McCargel? One for the same old
- 10:29Treibler. Black just coming to use the mid-west base ball. No place with the great
- 10:35pleasure to be to be bringing the stuff broadcast to you for the General Fanats Loan Company.
- 10:41I'd like to say how happy we are to be associated with the flyers, too. They've got
- 10:45a Val Wunderlich, Jack Jeply, and Stichman Bob Adams, and all the General Fanats Loan
- 10:50Company people. A nice, good black field member, Mugil. They're your friends as well as
- 10:55others. General Fanats Loan Company is a split on their own. Always there with your
- 11:01friends. That's what folks say about Bob Adams. He stands by at that General Fanats
- 11:05Loan by phone number and over three, all-all-seven-three. Remember General Fanats
- 11:10Loan Company when you're in the ball. Well, there, my friends, just by a simple phone
- 11:15call, you can get the best service run along in all of the season. 25, 50, 100, 300 and
- 11:22more. Why don't you just call for any Bob Adams right now? And over three, all-all-seven-three.
- 11:28Standing by at that phone number right now in the telephone shop. Last time in the first
- 11:41inning, get away, will you, will you Bob Adams? Played that number to three yesterday.
- 11:46He's not the type you want. He's on one side. What's why I can play these back and
- 11:58forth? We're ready to go. Got a world of stuff out there. Here's Gale Wade, a rookie center
- 12:20fielder up to the two double dumps to try to get that run back in the last round. Looking
- 12:24at the lineup, first they may get a hit. Marks goes into the lineup, and there's a first
- 12:28of his day ball inside on around eight and a ball one. But at home, he goes for a big
- 12:34handful of dirt. Bob Sheffield goes to his third. That's a good fan act of third. That
- 12:40guy is out of it. He says, go to his third and the first is just stuck in the first two
- 12:44innings or so. That's a play back to him in the bank and let him take the place. Ball
- 12:49There's the wind up and I expect it to stay wide when it's involved.
- 12:53You can do it, old pal.
- 12:55Harry, Terry, your broadcast along with Joe Cross,
- 12:57you'll have to stay moving.
- 12:59Don't read the marks. You're looking very good this day.
- 13:04All two are no
- 13:05All two are no strikes.
- 13:08What's the matter?
- 13:09I think you're down a more needless attitude,
- 13:11so come up next.
- 13:12You'll be followed by a problem.
- 13:13There's the wind up and I expect it to stay wide inside.
- 13:16Come back out of the way.
- 13:20There's three and nothing to wait.
- 13:22Terry carries the ball out of the way to throw it back to Lawrence.
- 13:26It's the rocket bag.
- 13:29All three are no strikes.
- 13:31Another bad little footy on it.
- 13:36Now Lawrence is ready again.
- 13:38Watch this guy.
- 13:39He's got three and nothing.
- 13:40He's got that one over.
- 13:41The automatic strike to make it three and one.
- 13:43It's a strike one.
- 14:11It's a strike one.
- 14:38It's a strike one.
- 15:06It's a strike one.
- 15:33It's a strike one.
- 16:01It's a strike one.
- 16:30It's a strike one.
- 16:36It's a strike one.
- 17:03It's a strike one.
- 17:06Henry had one to four yesterday.
- 17:08That was a double and one to seven.
- 17:16Eight dollars.
- 17:17That's another bad strike.
- 17:18Number nine is about to be tied on the uniform.
- 17:23Followed by first.
- 17:26He'll wait on third.
- 17:28One to nothing.
- 17:29St. Louis is one out.
- 17:30Now he's taking a fast one.
- 17:33One to one.
- 17:37And run eight.
- 17:39That is in the last half of the first inning.
- 17:43Now there's just the million number nine in the back of his white hole.
- 17:45He's probably backed out to get the honor.
- 17:48Now he's back in there.
- 17:51Ball one, one strike out.
- 17:54That's a strike one.
- 18:04Ball two.
- 18:08That's a strike one.
- 18:13That's a strike one.
- 18:18Not going to have any luck against Lawrence at all actually.
- 18:24The game that he picked against him.
- 18:27It's a little hefty for him to warm up in the full time.
- 18:31Looks like Schultz.
- 18:32Also quite flippy in the full time.
- 18:36Ball three.
- 18:37Three and oh.
- 18:38That'll load up.
- 18:43Ball three is upside.
- 18:45It's going back to the way for a moment.
- 18:48Fox is way behind, Henry.
- 18:52Donald is on third.
- 18:53Neil Wait is on third.
- 18:56Now he's raising that bat around.
- 18:58Last program of the strike.
- 18:59Here's the pitch.
- 19:00There's a long time.
- 19:01It's going to be out of the ballpark, I think.
- 19:03Let's see the backhand of one-all.
- 19:05Now he's in the cut.
- 19:06He's up the ball.
- 19:07He's in it.
- 19:08The bird is going to start.
- 19:10That's one long way to third.
- 19:12And the left free-hander.
- 19:16He's way up almost to the top of the wall.
- 19:20And Donald is over the ball, but he couldn't hang on to it.
- 19:23He dropped it.
- 19:24Although he tried to hide it from the umpire.
- 19:27He could say umpire indicated that he had dropped the ball.
- 19:30So the power gets a double.
- 19:33I thought the ball was going to go out, but it started out.
- 19:37That was hit number two on Lawrence.
- 19:39That was hit number one.
- 19:42It comes inside it up.
- 19:43And Jackson has a chance to put the gun down in front.
- 19:47A double-might tower.
- 19:48He's second to left-hander this year.
- 19:52And to the end he's back to step to the bottom on third.
- 19:55Power on second.
- 19:57It comes up first.
- 19:58He's going to walk in.
- 20:00Jackson walks in.
- 20:02He doesn't like it.
- 20:04He's trying to walk up on first.
- 20:07And one to four he has to go.
- 20:09He's single.
- 20:10Ball two away outside.
- 20:15Now it's set together.
- 20:16It comes ball three.
- 20:18One more and he'll be off.
- 20:22Ball three's up side.
- 20:23Jackson can be locked in at any time.
- 20:27He's like jumping from a frying pan into a fire.
- 20:29Ball four, the bases are loaded.
- 20:37Two-thirty.
- 20:39One for four yesterday.
- 20:46Now he's stuck in place with baby.
- 20:48Runs over the country side.
- 20:49It's off the first line.
- 20:52Bob Jepney will come in and talk to Jackson.
- 20:56Now Jackson has the bases jammed up like Jackson has a pond with only one man out.
- 21:02And Ernie Banks running to something about his life.
- 21:08And it's still coming down.
- 21:15Let's look down to get the tide.
- 21:18Here's the picture where it ends up falling in the dirt.
- 21:22And now by Sani, he's coming right in and they're really tough on that.
- 21:28He's got the top on the ball apparently.
- 21:30He's up the ruff.
- 21:31He'll get back in the picture.
- 21:33Lawrence is going to do the same thing now.
- 21:36Jack Kelly, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn getting the rain out on these.
- 21:40They're as tall as they watch as they get to New York.
- 21:44Ball one, no strikes.
- 21:46One's on a great scoring opportunity with the last half of the first game.
- 21:50There's the lineup for the next pitch.
- 21:52Ernie Banks, ball two.
- 21:56Sani walking out in front of the plate.
- 21:57Thank you.
- 22:00Ball two, no strikes out.
- 22:01Ernie Banks, Barry, deep body on Jack.
- 22:04Some flutter is raw out there.
- 22:08Yeah, Jack is on first power on second and almost on third.
- 22:12Mark's working very slowly and very carefully.
- 22:15He's got to work his way out of his jam.
- 22:16There's the light up again.
- 22:18That's the next pitch.
- 22:20Almost hitting the ball three away.
- 22:24Look at all that.
- 22:25Ernie.
- 22:26Another back look with a four-tana run.
- 22:30Lawrence looks over to cut dugout.
- 22:33The boys are probably riding him a little bit.
- 22:37Bothered his family.
- 22:41Ball three and no strikes.
- 22:42Lafam is collecting one and no.
- 22:45There's the lineup.
- 22:46There's the three and nothing pitch.
- 22:48Ball, ball, he wants it.
- 22:49Mark's going to go around.
- 22:58Ernie Banks drives a run in without taking his butt off his shoulder.
- 23:01Bob wants to go around.
- 23:05Mason's is still loaded.
- 23:08And the cutler's taking over the lead now, two to one.
- 23:13He's got to find the opportunity.
- 23:16Monday has three for four yesterday, two doubles and a single.
- 23:21That's that hitter.
- 23:24The bases are jammed up like ducks on a pie.
- 23:29Two runs in.
- 23:32He's going to find the number 40 lead.
- 23:35That's the way to get across the plate.
- 23:38Mark's starting to wind up his five-rate course of play.
- 23:40There's the right center.
- 23:41That's the right center.
- 23:43It's like all the way to the wall.
- 23:44One run, two runs, and where do you think he ends on?
- 23:48There he comes.
- 23:49That's the run of 90, second on the way to third.
- 23:51There's the throw, strikes out, and there's the three-run score.
- 23:56See, Bobney lined a double.
- 23:59The second base was changed a three-way.
- 24:01The life-failure is low.
- 24:03The third base was fired.
- 24:05And Bobney was out when he got the double on the play to drive his three runs.
- 24:12Bobney's fourth hit of the year, hit number three, run number two, a three, four, and five on the play.
- 24:21And here comes Matt Aduretti, thank you, and I think that will be all.
- 24:26All right.
- 24:27That's going to take him out.
- 24:29And they start working, look.
- 24:31It was probably a perfect relay to Moira by Mabey, the second-fiery off of third base, trying to set the double.
- 24:38There's a little trouble, but he cleaned off the base miles, and that was the important thing.
- 24:43And it's ten-foot-wide for the dollars.
- 24:45It's up leading five to one.
- 24:50This is George Warren Stokes coming in.
- 24:55The hard-onk is just being right these 26, with that will be his journey.
- 25:01And here's Barney Stokes.
- 25:04The really perfect last game in Columbus, Ohio, that is.
- 25:08Barney had an eight-and-eight record after 41 appearances.
- 25:11Very well, he's 3.86.
- 25:15He was in Columbus, Ohio last year.
- 25:22He's got one in the dollars.
- 25:27He hasn't spared his ball against the Cubs in the first inning as he did all the games against them last year.
- 25:37The first batter, Barney Stokes.
- 25:52Two-thirds of an eight. He's a three-hits and five-hits, and walked three.
- 26:08Well, see, he's going to step into the minute.
- 26:11The white side's stepping.
- 26:12Cleveland Valley going to pass out the first thing.
- 26:14He's got 11.
- 26:30So let's have here LaPauw just to warm up for a big win.
- 26:34Here's the lineup for the first place, Mary B.
- 26:39I guess my battle underlings out here is saying hello this afternoon.
- 26:46It's like what's out.
- 26:48Here's the lineup for that connection at State Ball.
- 26:50I went outside leading the count of one and one.
- 26:54Ball went strike one.
- 26:57Well, the guy with weak pikes was standing off on the exciting vein this afternoon.
- 27:03I'll say that.
- 27:04Here's the lineup.
- 27:05Five runs in.
- 27:06Here comes the next place.
- 27:09He thinks they've all been tied inside.
- 27:12Two out.
- 27:14Now he's feeding under 32.
- 27:16It looks like he's going to be a real catcher for the Cubs.
- 27:21And he's only 22.
- 27:23He's out of the Army.
- 27:24He just got out of the summer.
- 27:26Ball two and strike one.
- 27:27Here's the next one.
- 27:28That's a strike.
- 27:29Ball two and strike two.
- 27:36Wherever you are, whatever you're doing today, Sam, we can see the off-guard and driving
- 27:40the broadcast from all sides.
- 27:42He's not here to catch it out.
- 27:44Gaelen and Gage have been off in a regular, the world's most beautiful ballpark.
- 27:50Ball two and strike two.
- 27:51Here's the lineup now.
- 27:52The next place.
- 27:53It makes it very wide, but folks got to see it through.
- 28:05One time, I remember, he still beat the Longer Cubs.
- 28:10Ball three and strike two.
- 28:11Here's the lineup.
- 28:12And that's a strike.
- 28:15He's out.
- 28:16The outside corner about how high he's fallen out on the side.
- 28:21Ball two came in and put out the fire.
- 28:23Five runs scored.
- 28:25Three hits.
- 28:27No errors.
- 28:28The melody of our song.
- 28:30At the end of the first inning, he gets Wrigley Field in Chicago.
- 28:33The score is the Chicago Cubs 5 to Seymour's Tigers 1.
- 28:39Broadcast is coming to you from WIMB in Chicago.
- 28:42And he may even get to the newscast now.
- 28:45He'll be resumed following the ball game.
- 28:49There goes Paul Mender at the point right by to the work yard now.
- 28:52I hope he can hold it.
- 28:58Well, we have people from all over out here this afternoon.
- 29:01Everybody likes to attend opening day.
- 29:05Most people like to see a lot more games going to stages, too.
- 29:08I hope you will.
- 29:15As you can see, I'm glad to be here watching the opening day games for nearly 30 years.
- 29:20Out here taking in the ball game of the day.
- 29:24But they do have a tough time.
- 29:26The Walther's not expired before it's really Iowa.
- 29:29Out here at the ball game this afternoon.
- 29:36The second inning is coming up.
- 29:38Paul Mender's got to get his practice draws.
- 29:40And that little left-hander, LaMont, who was up there,
- 29:43is still talking to the newscast.
- 29:45He's got to go down the low ground.
- 29:48They try to take out Schultz for a considerate amount if they get that far.
- 29:53That's a bang down the back.
- 29:54He's back on over the bank.
- 29:55It's dark and Jackson is there to back it up.
- 29:57I'm glad that's going.
- 29:58He's working out to see whether he'll win the game or not.
- 30:00He's got to hide on the mile.
- 30:02He's got tonight's play tonight.
- 30:03He's played Monday, 6th, Sunday night.
- 30:04He's got to get out of Cincinnati again.
- 30:06He's played the red legs on Thursday.
- 30:08Friday's been off the bank.
- 30:09We played a title, John and Bigelow.
- 30:10It's not going to be a long way, but Sunday, then we go up to Milwaukee for Monday.
- 30:13And Bilzey is back on again.
- 30:17There's the right-handed batter, Bill Starney.
- 30:19He's got to be trying to get out of the way around it.
- 30:22Ted Lawyer, who allegedly was in shortstop, they made a picture out of it.
- 30:25He looks quite like the gray with his title.
- 30:28They converted him into a third-racer.
- 30:29They're going to be playing copy.
- 30:33Ted Lawyer.
- 30:35There's the line down the back first.
- 30:37There's a ball that's going to go outside, even if he's got it one short.
- 30:41Ball in at the strike line.
- 30:44Right-handed hitters.
- 30:46Ted Lawyer, number 14, Bill Starney, will back down.
- 30:49He's got to stay a little bit out of the way.
- 30:51He's been in line up the fast, he's got to get high to right field.
- 30:54Follows, he's running over, pulling down his sunglasses, dropping back a little bit.
- 30:57He's under the basket for number one.
- 31:00A fly ball, come on, Bill.
- 31:02Over towards the foul line at right field, it's one away.
- 31:06Bill Starney has got it.
- 31:10Starney, the circle glass here, he was 300 at night, over to 71.
- 31:16We may have a hit center now after Starney.
- 31:23And ball of fire, look at that.
- 31:24That is his Starney guitar.
- 31:26Otherwise, Bill Starney would stay in there.
- 31:29There's the line up at the first base.
- 31:31A high fly ball, and a good left field.
- 31:33Thank you, Billy, for dropping that way to get everybody away.
- 31:36He has lifted it, too.
- 31:39Too much, but sit down for the title for the first half of the second inning.
- 31:45And it brings up Alex Drabble, too.
- 31:48Drabble's a member of the New Drabble family, but he hates the six of the nine, right here.
- 31:57Right out of it is number four in the back of his.
- 32:03Gets into the ground in the last ball, then he goes into the lineup.
- 32:06He comes up 30, maybe.
- 32:07They follow it down the line for one.
- 32:13Right out of it is Alex Jamies.
- 32:17Long ball gets ready again.
- 32:19Here's the next person, Jamies, takes it.
- 32:21Flies it pretty high, right over the high of the play, to even the count of one and one.
- 32:25See these ducks will not throw the ball back to the net.
- 32:28Now finally the title's off with a bad right field at the start of the round.
- 32:3327,000, I'm going to guess, maybe more, 28.
- 32:38Ball went strike-like.
- 32:40Wide up for the next stretch, and it's a long, tired curve ball, too, in one hand.
- 32:49Dixie Walker on her Brooklyn side with Doken Birch Bay, and Little with Doken McBray.
- 32:57Ball to his strike left.
- 33:01Makes the wind up the next stretch.
- 33:02There's a five-ball to right field.
- 33:04Bobby Duffey back to his right.
- 33:05He's calling for it now.
- 33:06He has it through the foul.
- 33:10Ball is three up and three down.
- 33:13A long strike.
- 33:14The last one in the front.
- 33:16McCrory in the last half of the second inning and Leigh McPhil in Chicago.
- 33:20Let me show her out here.
- 33:22By and to one in favor of the Chicago Caps and Rockets for the Midwest baseball.
- 33:28WI&B Chicago.
- 33:29Look at the schedule.
- 33:30This guy's got the obvious.
- 33:31He's going to follow the ball here.
- 33:34Clay is the in-sum tax payment coming up along with all those other bills.
- 33:38About two-thirds is going to go outside.
- 33:41Why don't they get the extra 25 to $500 he needs?
- 33:44You know you clean up those bills and then you get that payable off these billings.
- 33:49And you can do it easily.
- 33:51You know you're good for a lot of other guys.
- 33:53All you really want is really good.
- 33:56All you do is make one throw.
- 33:58Matt Duffey, the grand opening three, you almost got it through.
- 34:01Now, friendly Bob Adams, how much do you want?
- 34:04He makes the erasure.
- 34:06He's picked up the cash for friendly Duffey and the Rockets.
- 34:10And now, the problem, Mr. Duffey, is all of that money is going to be paid with the ball brush.
- 34:15Here's the basketball demo for that 4x4 number again.
- 34:18And over a three-point ball, seven-six.
- 34:33Last half of the second coming up.
- 34:38By the way, the three.
- 34:42Oh, see, see.
- 34:44Cincinnati run like jets in the afternoon.
- 34:46Dive at like 75 over Cincinnati.
- 34:50But this day I'm on top of the baseball league.
- 34:53Not only is the early five the feet, but right on out of the air.
- 34:56It takes a minute.
- 34:57But it's up right down the line.
- 35:01Also, start history like, uh, Ken Byers, as an in-celebrity.
- 35:07Oh, and then he was prepared to a picture of him going back to the FB lower off feet.
- 35:12Ball one, on central.
- 35:14A flick of a miss, and he went all the way around.
- 35:17Then he turns up a lot of right there.
- 35:21One at one count.
- 35:23He was leading the white side.
- 35:26Two-nil, he's beyond the first inning.
- 35:29Ball one, he's right behind the line up by Duffey at the way inside.
- 35:33He just got up and he's down.
- 35:38By the way, Chicago out of sight.
- 35:41Right down from the fucking innings.
- 35:44The ball's deep right one count.
- 35:46Long, long ball.
- 35:48Central radio.
- 35:50Still climbed up again.
- 35:52It's a nice stretch.
- 35:53By two on the way back down the line.
- 35:56Ball is in there.
- 35:57Ball is deep.
- 35:58They're doing a good job. The hits are almost even up.
- 36:03They look at three, two, they just have three.
- 36:08Ball two is thank you.
- 36:11Down the line.
- 36:13There's a light drive for that field for a good conversation.
- 36:17He must feel there's a ball back here.
- 36:20That's Wally Moon out there.
- 36:22And then there is a, he's going to put on his jacket, I believe.
- 36:26And the trainer is going to bring the jacket out to Billy Foulkes.
- 36:30Billy's got a good chance to come back for it today.
- 36:34He's working his tough white box too.
- 36:37Hit the ball on him, Bonnie Foulkes.
- 36:40He's up the other way.
- 36:42It's Billy Foulkes with third TEEZ, a fellow great student at Edgeworth Junior High School, an island pocket of art.
- 36:48He's got a good chance to get a good shot from the island side.
- 36:53He's going to have his jacket on now.
- 36:56And get away to walk and set it off that five-hump lap with the first of eight.
- 36:59He's going to step into the batting box to face Bonnie Foulkes.
- 37:06Well, we hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
- 37:08He's set it off with a big bang out here at Winslow Field.
- 37:10And it comes to a fit.
- 37:12There's a question of Foulkes going back to the backstop of Pat Heichert's old jet.
- 37:17Pat is starting his 72nd year of the number of the cup organizations.
- 37:22Most of the time, it's the announcers, field announcers, that is.
- 37:27That's a long, long time.
- 37:29That is 69 or it'll be 70, of course, next Thursday.
- 37:36Get away, not that bad.
- 37:38Foulke entered on first base, that's Billy Dawson.
- 37:41There's his set.
- 37:42He comes up first.
- 37:43Foulkes takes a turn with the layoff shot.
- 37:46Again, he looked like he was running with a double-climbing walk.
- 37:50All of the strike ones.
- 37:53He'll set it out back in 1947 with Pontus City.
- 37:56Things all around, but they get out with last year, in 273.
- 38:03He's been in there.
- 38:04He gave for quite a while at bat.
- 38:05They saw him set.
- 38:06He wears his cowboy hat all the time.
- 38:07Here's his set.
- 38:08But that's a very wide field ball, too, at once.
- 38:14He's been committed to the hotel lab.
- 38:15You can tell he's been out in the clubs all the way through.
- 38:17But I've never seen him.
- 38:18He was dressed up like that before.
- 38:20He looked like somebody got this with Arizona.
- 38:23He's largely more outside of the place.
- 38:26Ball two and strike one.
- 38:29Wade's waving that shot across the play.
- 38:31Minutes after the leadoff.
- 38:33He comes to the next circuit.
- 38:34It's very high and wide for a three-a-long jump.
- 38:37Firing stoke.
- 38:38Now, there's a little control double here.
- 38:40Will Satie walks out towards the picture file, rubbing his side off the ball.
- 38:47Now, he takes it back to show us how to the picture file.
- 38:52Get there.
- 38:53He's gone and got the separate ball.
- 38:56Ball three and strike one.
- 39:00Gale Wade trying to get a hollow out.
- 39:02And still trying to get a little trouble getting the ball over until he put in it.
- 39:06Baker is doing the left back.
- 39:07Five to one.
- 39:08That's what he's doing.
- 39:09That's it.
- 39:10That's it.
- 39:11There's the three-one foot.
- 39:12A strike out of it.
- 39:13And he gets that ball a half a foot.
- 39:14He's one-off in it there, the three and two.
- 39:20Ball three and strike two.
- 39:22Baker, they've sectioned out the rough gate.
- 39:25Gale Wade and Phil Bolger.
- 39:28Letting it run whether it's a right-hander or a left-hander.
- 39:31And the foul.
- 39:32So far, we've been looking at right-hander.
- 39:35So he's in the play.
- 39:36Back left-hander.
- 39:37He gets the ball.
- 39:39Ball three and strike two.
- 39:43The Colts really have a hustly fighting bar-clutter here.
- 39:46We've seen it in all the games out in Arizona.
- 39:49And the two games with the White Cots, they went over to Cincinnati yesterday.
- 39:52And boy, they're never licked until that last shot is down.
- 39:57The funny part is the opposition hasn't been licked either.
- 39:59He wants to get that.
- 40:00The White Cots did it yesterday.
- 40:02It looks roughly rough for tonight.
- 40:03Watch it now.
- 40:04Three-two-pick.
- 40:05Ball forward.
- 40:06High outside.
- 40:07Walk it.
- 40:08Make nothing go.
- 40:09The White Cots will have to do the first time.
- 40:13The Cots now have one even first and second with Ball.
- 40:16And Blazers last.
- 40:17The Cots are going to get their turn.
- 40:18Ball fakers down the line.
- 40:19And that's what we saw.
- 40:22Baker was in strike on Baker.
- 40:24But a ball third strike is three-time.
- 40:28The Cots five.
- 40:30St. Louis one.
- 40:32And they take the black battle.
- 40:35And now the second Jacob has now started to warm up.
- 40:40The table is chiro.
- 40:43He is a right-handed.
- 40:45Maybe he's a little bit about it now, but still.
- 40:48So is Jacob from Rochester.
- 40:50He lost one last year.
- 40:54He's farming up with the Bulls now.
- 40:57Well, ain't nothing.
- 40:58He's going to walk into the bus.
- 40:59He's just playing under the edge of the grass, it's very.
- 41:02And he's back to the base of the base.
- 41:04And he's going to walk out of the base.
- 41:05And he's going to take the beauty.
- 41:06And he takes it up to the ball and throws down.
- 41:08And I swear, that was a perfect buck.
- 41:11But it's placed it perfectly.
- 41:13The third base was where he'll have to make the flag.
- 41:15That's where he lost the bag.
- 41:17So he lost his flag and called it first.
- 41:19So it's a perfect sacrifice.
- 41:21The second base was just a throw.
- 41:24Now the Cots have bottles coming up to the back.
- 41:28We've got a line-by-single.
- 41:30Keep the rally long in the first inning.
- 41:36Runnys on second and third.
- 41:41What now?
- 41:42Yes, they were going to play it, but I think both.
- 41:46Here's Robbie in the batter's box.
- 41:47That's 10-8.
- 41:49Robbie's coming in the back of the one-hole unifar.
- 41:52So it's five to one and they were the Cots.
- 41:54They have a chance to get at least one bar.
- 41:57It's back to five-five, I believe it is.
- 42:01Marty Soap lights up.
- 42:03Here's the first base.
- 42:04Mike had it on.
- 42:05He's just left the first zone.
- 42:06It's right over the high-level of the black line zone.
- 42:09That was a beauty.
- 42:10It is Mike's one.
- 42:14Mike hits his up-and-down.
- 42:16Gets in with his back to the left side.
- 42:18That's the place to get him about it.
- 42:20He's just ready again.
- 42:22Soap does his work.
- 42:23Cut out for him now.
- 42:25There's the line-out for next base.
- 42:26Mike gets the ground.
- 42:27Oh, two runs and a third for the base hit.
- 42:30That's a run around the third.
- 42:31The throw is going to be in the second base.
- 42:33Two more runs to go.
- 42:35A hot place for Donald.
- 42:36Mike Passley, Greg Stump, Alex Jamison.
- 42:39They've left for the second base play.
- 42:41One in the center field by the Tiger of Boston.
- 42:44He came up on the wall.
- 42:45It was no play.
- 42:46That's two more runs to go.
- 42:48Final drive-through run is first and second runs of the year.
- 42:57That's hit number two on number one and two on two.
- 43:00The cup weighs seven to one.
- 43:03They are pulling it on these cycles.
- 43:06It's not too long.
- 43:07They've found out here, around 30,000 in total.
- 43:11They're running every second of it so far.
- 43:14Here it is, that's Donald.
- 43:21Better high.
- 43:22He hits right in front of the play.
- 43:23He doubles.
- 43:24And it's all going to be a run for the first time up.
- 43:28Big H.
- 43:30Mike wants down.
- 43:33It goes into the motion again.
- 43:35It's probably going to be the third place.
- 43:37It's up to the next base.
- 43:38It's a very tight, a better high third ball that's back over to the other side.
- 43:44That's good.
- 43:47It's down to one.
- 43:50Here in the last drive of the second inning, we'll talk that out.
- 43:54He's got a total of five hits for the jump.
- 43:57Probably hitting the wire.
- 43:58That's a little wrong with Bobby.
- 44:00He actually didn't mean to hit it at all.
- 44:02He enjoyed his play.
- 44:03But now that the ball ain't already back, it's out of the play.
- 44:11And it's a nice two-drop.
- 44:15Well, it's a better run like it's going to be.
- 44:17It's all bigger now.
- 44:18It should all be bigger.
- 44:21A lot of excitement yesterday for the first inning of the third part of the day.
- 44:26It's a nice two-drop.
- 44:29Every right walk of Westfield for another day hits one to the wall.
- 44:34There's Bobby Erickson on the way to third.
- 44:37A quick blow in to him on the left field is Lai Loo.
- 44:39The ball gets to a long single, almost to the wall in Westfield.
- 44:44There comes Raxson Jackson.
- 44:47A single by Fowler.
- 44:49Here's second in on the ball again.
- 44:51Follows right to third.
- 44:54Hit number three on Stoke for the quick jump Raxson Jackson with Eddie Tacky coming out of the dugout.
- 45:03I imagine that's going to be all for Marty Stoke.
- 45:08The ball just came out of here loaded with a hit to the ground so far.
- 45:13It's seven to one.
- 45:16I'm going to say to the Chicago Jucks, and I think they're going to call in Jacob, Don Jacob.
- 45:25Anthony Roberts Jacob.
- 45:27He was farther sixth for Illinois back in 1925.
- 45:32And five man McNiggis, he's a little fellow, weighing under to 55 pounds.
- 45:38He was in the one-hours back in 1947 and 1948.
- 45:43He was playing field at 51-54-53.
- 45:46He's another fellow that's apparently in the tough class circle.
- 45:50He played for the Badger-Stan Hacklund.
- 45:52He was managing up at the sixth field.
- 45:55And last year he was a lot younger.
- 45:57Oh yes, in state for record, 13 wins and one loss.
- 46:02Oh, he was in 61 ball games.
- 46:05Not about completely the ball in the ladies' house.
- 46:08He was a very good player, but anyway, a very run average of 2.91.
- 46:15So it's Jacob's turn now.
- 46:23So far two runs of an inning.
- 46:27Three hits, two runs so far.
- 46:31Walked one and struck out one.
- 46:35And now he's in the second.
- 46:39Well, the company loaded this afternoon.
- 46:41Maybe they can keep it going.
- 46:42Now, that's when the walk is set for his daughter, Ronnie.
- 46:45But as far as the physical of the person, they won't be wanting him in the second for now.
- 46:53That's exactly what the number two is after the fight won't get far.
- 46:57Star on third, Bob Hogan on third.
- 47:01Randy is 20 down there in the batter's class.
- 47:03Jesus Me Made Oregon stand there in this game.
- 47:04Oh, he's taking a flat fifth.
- 47:06Well, no, that's a safe record.
- 47:07Bird hit this.
- 47:0813 wins and 1 loss.
- 47:09sola sh AWS.
- 47:10Although he was in 61 in the World Game.
- 47:13But he's in the final.
- 47:16Oh, I'm all about it anyway.
- 47:18And his very run average was 2.91.
- 47:24Oh, it's Jacob's 50 now.
- 47:26Oh, he's got a good run.
- 47:32Oh, Joseph's 2.92.
- 47:36Well, I'll tell you, it's a good run so far.
- 47:39He's lost one and struck out one.
- 47:44And Tony Jenkins has been called in.
- 47:48Well, he got the run in this afternoon.
- 47:50Let's see if he can keep it going.
- 47:52Now, Jackson is off the bench.
- 47:53He's going to run.
- 47:55He looks far to be hitting to the first inning.
- 47:57He won't be long to be in the second and foul.
- 48:02And Jackson will be number 2 in the house
- 48:04if he's fighting on the other side.
- 48:06A star on first foul on the first.
- 48:10And Ramby is playing down in the batting spot.
- 48:12Here's the ball.
- 48:13He almost threw it away.
- 48:14Tony Jenkins's first pitch was a way outside, isn't it?
- 48:19Ball out.
- 48:20Ball out on the outside.
- 48:22He's talking it up around the infield.
- 48:25If you're looking down, Tony Jenkins.
- 48:28As up side of him, there's a strike.
- 48:30Here comes the next pitch.
- 48:32Ball to it.
- 48:33Ball it outside.
- 48:34He's not walking it in the tent, really.
- 48:35He's just not getting it off.
- 48:36He's not doing anything now.
- 48:40Well, it doesn't really matter
- 48:42something to work on.
- 48:43The better and south side of him,
- 48:45for this, for the single,
- 48:46the better and south side of him,
- 48:47for this, for the single,
- 48:48the better and south side of him,
- 48:50for the single,
- 48:51he's off.
- 48:54Off he goes.
- 48:55Strike out.
- 48:57And the last one.
- 49:00Tony ready again.
- 49:01And for that quick,
- 49:02he's back out of that.
- 49:03And Jackson wasn't moving.
- 49:04He was going for the downs on that fastball.
- 49:06It's ball two and strike one.
- 49:08Son is out and all is going.
- 49:09And most of the fouls are getting the periods to cover now.
- 49:12And it's a beautiful day in Chicago.
- 49:15Fine ball for the day.
- 49:17About the way it went after a rain cloud
- 49:19that slipped it out of yesterday.
- 49:20It was warmer over there than it was in there.
- 49:22About 66 degrees in the previous day.
- 49:26Ball two and strike one.
- 49:27That's it.
- 49:28The ground ball to the dunk-off.
- 49:29Grammys on the top of the ball.
- 49:30Ball down.
- 49:31Everybody's safe.
- 49:32Ball all the way from him.
- 49:34Let's see how they score that.
- 49:36They made a fine stop.
- 49:37Ball was up against a base hit on the play.
- 49:39And a lot is in.
- 49:42Maybe Jackson gets a hit off.
- 49:43Alex Grammys flat.
- 49:44He fell out before he could ever get rid of the ball.
- 49:46The ball slipped out of his glove.
- 49:49That's another one-off take.
- 49:51The runner starts to tilt.
- 49:54Dump lead eight to one.
- 49:59And Jackson dives right across.
- 50:01Dollars down to second.
- 50:04There's Ernie Banks.
- 50:05He's got a walk to first time up.
- 50:08That's a second attack.
- 50:10They swing on this.
- 50:11Like one.
- 50:13That's a third attack.
- 50:15Ernie will follow their odds.
- 50:17Let's see how they ride.
- 50:22Boy, talk about excitement.
- 50:23Color and everything else.
- 50:24Hopefully, today, he'll be leading too.
- 50:26There's the next one.
- 50:27William and Donald on the take.
- 50:29Ball is coming in.
- 50:30Pitches up.
- 50:31Ball's down.
- 50:32Can't make the play.
- 50:33The bases are loaded.
- 50:35Get water.
- 50:36Turn his ankle.
- 50:38And he slips off the grass in the endfield.
- 50:40The bases are loaded on another take hit.
- 50:44Oh, man.
- 50:46Quite exciting.
- 50:47I wish my mother had been seeing this far.
- 50:50I could do it, Jackson.
- 50:54I think the official star was a little generous on that.
- 50:57However, they're thinking that he slipped in the grass and slipped in his ankle.
- 51:02He flipped it around a little bit.
- 51:04Going into the take hit, however.
- 51:07Just a shave of last year with a ducky.
- 51:10I'm very pleased with the car, I think it was.
- 51:14Everything went well for the title.
- 51:16Hit another two off Jacob.
- 51:19Here's J. Fabio.
- 51:20The last time I played off the bases were the doubles.
- 51:22Outside of second it was a double.
- 51:25J. Fabio, the batters, the bases full.
- 51:28Here's the white dot.
- 51:29The first 50 needles.
- 51:30It's a five on the inside.
- 51:32I don't know if you've seen it.
- 51:33I don't know if you've seen it, but it's a one on one.
- 51:37How many did you have in there?
- 51:39Three weeks behind him.
- 51:41It was left a little bit.
- 51:42It's a good sign.
- 51:44A little damage to play over there.
- 51:45With a five shot, it was left a long way through.
- 51:48Here's the white dot down the next to the front.
- 51:50He's outside the ball.
- 51:53That's his standing on here.
- 51:55Hit that ball.
- 51:56If we want to hold her, it's something like that.
- 51:58One on one.
- 51:59That's a football game.
- 52:03The score sounds almost like they've won.
- 52:08All in.
- 52:09Mike Rodney, Bobby.
- 52:12Tony Jacobs has his back again.
- 52:14Here's the wind up down the next.
- 52:15Long wind up.
- 52:16It's not like that.
- 52:17Here's the high five on the infield.
- 52:21Over there the cup dugout.
- 52:22Fire is moving over.
- 52:23Right in front of the dugout.
- 52:24And he's stopped the ball.
- 52:26He's stopped the cup dugout.
- 52:29Ted Boyer drops the foul ball right at the edge of the cup dugout.
- 52:35He almost fell into the dugout at the attempt to make the catch.
- 52:38So I don't imagine he'll give it any air on him.
- 52:40He's going to be pointed out.
- 52:42I don't think he'll do it.
- 52:44Don't play it, A-Roll.
- 52:47How did he get the new life on that?
- 52:51Ball left the back too.
- 52:55Well, you never know.
- 52:58He'll have a chance to clean off the bases again.
- 53:02He hit the first dive off of the first inning.
- 53:04Back cloud.
- 53:05He's got time to wait.
- 53:07Tony Jacobs taking a lot of time.
- 53:10A funny back to late.
- 53:13Ball one, back to ten.
- 53:16He was probably in that back drive too late.
- 53:18Here's the wind up down.
- 53:19That's the coming in.
- 53:20Bobby looks another high foul.
- 53:22That's part of the three.
- 53:23Tony's taking back.
- 53:25He's going to get that one.
- 53:28Well, Tony must have something on that ball out there.
- 53:31He's probably getting a few stuff in.
- 53:32He's getting a couple of them.
- 53:40ball one, right through.
- 53:44Now the needle's back in the battered box again.
- 53:46He'll feel the box.
- 53:47By the way, don't be out there.
- 53:48He is up necessarily.
- 53:52There's the line down.
- 53:53One, two, three.
- 53:54The line drive foul.
- 53:56It's the final move back out of that three line.
- 53:59Line drive foul.
- 54:02That's not a nice three line.
- 54:03Let's see where the ball is going.
- 54:05Let's take a look.
- 54:09Bobby on a grand turn out for off the knee dip.
- 54:12About 30 fouls.
- 54:15And a cutting end coming up on the wide blade.
- 54:19They're pretty well loaded with all the boxers.
- 54:22And a lot of aggressive.
- 54:23And a weak end on the goal.
- 54:26All in, thank you.
- 54:28There's the line up there.
- 54:29I expect to jump this.
- 54:31He has the golf ball in the right feet of the ball.
- 54:33That's it.
- 54:34One left is going to score.
- 54:35That's it's going to score.
- 54:37The ball is over the second base with two more lefts in it.
- 54:40Bobby's going to make five out of it today.
- 54:44A single by five to get the right field on the ground.
- 54:48Two more left to let this score.
- 54:54Foul and catch it.
- 54:57Banks leads the third.
- 55:00And here's Harry Cedio.
- 55:02Banks mad about it.
- 55:04He's still the one that out.
- 55:06The strong foul is still on it, man.
- 55:08There we go.
- 55:11Harry Cedio right hand and back on the knee dip.
- 55:15Well, I hope you have an average one-part lifting this weekend on the draw.
- 55:18I'm sure all the guys will like this.
- 55:20They're following the inside out.
- 55:21I mean, they didn't follow out.
- 55:24I think you're going to find that a lot longer time on the game than you are going to be this way.
- 55:29There's a real spirit on the team.
- 55:32Five down, long left.
- 55:33And they're not going to be able to play it.
- 55:35What a copy.
- 55:38Get the bird.
- 55:39Nice stop by Sonny.
- 55:40Almost got away.
- 55:41Well, good.
- 55:43I think it's a double play right there.
- 55:58I think it's bad to have him standing.
- 56:00He's facing out the down in front of his friends down here.
- 56:03And it certainly is a happy safety.
- 56:05What about that?
- 56:06A ground ball foul.
- 56:18Two-one down, Harry Pee.
- 56:44And the second time in the inning, the run back there, the play left the wire.
- 56:53The first set of field yields.
- 56:56And all the play probably for the second.
- 56:58So here for the second time in the inning, it's all that is the 10th man to bat.
- 57:03He's got played 11 to 1 in the last half of the second.
- 57:08He's got the second time in the one.
- 57:14He's started this whole thing with a play go.
- 57:17He's been batting once.
- 57:19The defense has upstaged.
- 57:20He's due to farm and has been bat down again since the first short.
- 57:24Indian.
- 57:26That's a high foul on the play down the number 11.
- 57:29That was a play.
- 57:30A play.
- 57:34Bam, a touch of part of it on these triangles today.
- 57:3811 to 1.
- 57:39Six runs to this end.
- 57:40Line of the play.
- 57:44A flat-one tap.
- 57:51Play on this by Nittie.
- 57:53That's a strike to Nittie, but that could fall onto the inning, but I hope he doesn't
- 57:57so long.
- 57:59Two caps.
- 58:00He has a 10-up mark in the door, which is pretty good.
- 58:04Looks like that isn't enough.
- 58:06Like two caps.
- 58:08That's what my overall is watching.
- 58:12All that's left to, not to be me, take a look at the triangles the whole thing there.
- 58:19The three that act the league.
- 58:21The day victory is a 35-count of yesterday's game, but we put them on.
- 58:25All one strike to them, but they're just high outside of all the shooting.
- 58:31All two is strike two.
- 58:35Long ball fall.
- 58:41Get away from the batter.
- 58:47Two-seat coach with a ball three.
- 58:58Well, this is a walk of talent and story.
- 59:03Three and two.
- 59:05Double-deck and stretchers.
- 59:07That's a great.
- 59:08Leonard's playing, Jeff, and he's got a bad record.
- 59:10He knows.
- 59:11That's nice.
- 59:12He's going to be fighting all the way.
- 59:14He's going to be playing off the inning and he has it.
- 59:17Six-five.
- 59:18I have one, two, three, four, five, six-six.
- 59:23No time to lose.
- 59:24The Pumperjump runner left guard.
- 59:26He had a good one for it, and he did.
- 59:28He's got a great lead in the door.
- 59:29It's really good to be with Chicago.
- 59:30It's Chicago's 11th.
- 59:32The single is Chicago's 1.
- 59:35They've allowed my call to Tom Adams, again, to be the public service player.
- 59:39A truck that's been on selection order.
- 59:42friendship putting his best foot forward to get that move.
- 59:49A hot water bath advance, I hate to say it.
- 59:50Sean Thatcher, different presentation, they're working hard.
- 1:00:03And number three, Donald Sutherland.
- 1:00:11Well, it's not anything coming out.
- 1:00:15The wire here is being planned for the second part of the contest which is for Sutherland.
- 1:00:22Now, it's the C.O.M. Alley Company, something called the Bracken Company.
- 1:00:26In fact, there's that wiki for another successful TV broadcast from the 1975 Trump Facebook.
- 1:00:34Let's take a look at the other charts now.
- 1:00:37At the end of the first half of the third, the three-lifters being four, the one-time-doubting,
- 1:00:41now some of the things are coming on.
- 1:00:44We've got the
- 1:00:45We've got the three-lifters going like the last half of the second.
- 1:00:48The Washington-Dixie track four, Baltimore one, and the other four are in the play.
- 1:00:52The Washington-Dixie team is laid out.
- 1:00:54Milwaukee really took it out of one-num and put it in the last half of the fourth.
- 1:00:57It's very clear they didn't work hard.
- 1:01:01The Giants, Philadelphia game, and the Flipkart-Clifton game are laid out.
- 1:01:06Now here's the line of the line as we go to the first half of the third.
- 1:01:09And the defenders, Tony Jacobs, who's only seven of the valley class.
- 1:01:17Paul Bennett is way out in front of this ballgame.
- 1:01:21The outfielders are very shallow, especially barboles.
- 1:01:25They're not far out there right there.
- 1:01:27They're a little high.
- 1:01:28They're five of the inside four of the valley line.
- 1:01:30It's like one.
- 1:01:33Nobody out of the first half of the third.
- 1:01:37Tony Jacobs, way too bad at doing a wide drop.
- 1:01:41He's a patient.
- 1:01:42A wide one for the Valley 21.
- 1:01:45Paul once, tight one.
- 1:01:47Jacobs, Poole, and Burdick are really good to see them in the valley.
- 1:01:54Paul Levy again with a lineup of 11.
- 1:01:56Oh, we have a bunch of them out in the league of lives.
- 1:02:02Paul Poole with a strike one.
- 1:02:04Comes down a total of nine hits and 11 runs.
- 1:02:09The final test to it, one left.
- 1:02:12We watch out. Here's the lineup, the next bench and a high outside three and one.
- 1:02:17Well, that was a pitcher's ball.
- 1:02:22Paul Poole with a strike one.
- 1:02:23The center fielder, Gale Wade, is playing a deep second base.
- 1:02:27He might say.
- 1:02:28Very shallow.
- 1:02:30That must be set for his power there.
- 1:02:32He's trying to cut the outside line.
- 1:02:34Poole's that away and starting down the third.
- 1:02:37That goalie says, where you going young man?
- 1:02:40It's three and two.
- 1:02:44He's a hundred and fifty-five fouls.
- 1:02:46Pretty swift from up there.
- 1:02:49Paul Poole with a strike two.
- 1:02:50Here's the next bench.
- 1:02:51Follow-all.
- 1:02:52Here's a cardinal dugout.
- 1:02:55Three and two.
- 1:02:57Boys, get it the other way.
- 1:03:01Three, two, staff.
- 1:03:02Donnie Jacobs.
- 1:03:05Is somebody on?
- 1:03:06Is somebody on?
- 1:03:07Then he goes into the lineup again, there's a strike.
- 1:03:10The ball's there to the right.
- 1:03:12There's a fill in there.
- 1:03:18That will be gone now until the 20th.
- 1:03:23The out of foul until the 20th of April.
- 1:03:27Although tomorrow we can help the state.
- 1:03:30Both sides.
- 1:03:31Here's the three, two, fifth.
- 1:03:33A line, the down ball.
- 1:03:34He's got the back.
- 1:03:35He's not going to play.
- 1:03:36He's a bird.
- 1:03:37Peaches out.
- 1:03:38Tackles.
- 1:03:39I think he stepped on the bag and tagged me too.
- 1:03:42Well he's got it.
- 1:03:45Donnie Jacobs.
- 1:03:46Down he goes, strikes it first.
- 1:03:47Got a couple of rounds to get the ball over the deck.
- 1:03:49The back of the net.
- 1:03:50And he brings up Wally Moody.
- 1:03:51He's got it, he's got it.
- 1:03:52He's got it back.
- 1:03:54First down to the 30th down here.
- 1:03:55We can see him.
- 1:03:56Chicago.
- 1:03:58So it's 11 to 1 at the table of our Chicago Cubs.
- 1:04:01He's really going to down the back.
- 1:04:05There's a hundred five out there.
- 1:04:06He's got the strikes and a foul.
- 1:04:08Strikes out.
- 1:04:10I don't know if I want to take a look at it.
- 1:04:14That's all he says.
- 1:04:15It's okay to play when the game's quite close down.
- 1:04:21Up that end of Wally Moody, number 20.
- 1:04:24Giffield has jumped the lock straight away.
- 1:04:28The ball is all set again.
- 1:04:30He's going to wind up, let's play some good third ball.
- 1:04:33Low outside.
- 1:04:37Makes it one and one.
- 1:04:40Wally Moody.
- 1:04:42Remember last year, the first game he was here.
- 1:04:44I think they added the right field instead of dealing with that field.
- 1:04:46He had an awful lot of trouble all over the place.
- 1:04:48He settled down to be a very fine field.
- 1:04:50He's right down there.
- 1:04:51Right field.
- 1:04:54There was a little bit of a play, but the company didn't trade Bob Lutz for Wally Moody.
- 1:04:58Apparently nothing has covered that.
- 1:05:03Ball one, strike two.
- 1:05:08Looks like he's going to get it set again.
- 1:05:12Look at that, strike three.
- 1:05:17Wally Moody.
- 1:05:19It's the first strikeout since he's been balled in.
- 1:05:21It's up to O'Byrne to beat out that.
- 1:05:23It's fielded.
- 1:05:25On Ernie Bay.
- 1:05:26It's the second raise, for example.
- 1:05:28They score it on the double by Sam Van Damme.
- 1:05:34Two outs, the way on.
- 1:05:3511 to 1, the company is the free top of the third of each.
- 1:05:40Here's Lutten wind up again.
- 1:05:41He comes to the next field.
- 1:05:43And the long fly ball in the right center.
- 1:05:44Bob O'Byrne over to the left center.
- 1:05:46He's got the energy.
- 1:05:47That's it for the style of play.
- 1:05:51Three up and three down.
- 1:05:52The second of the first balls.
- 1:05:53And the second of the first balls.
- 1:05:55So, I'm sorry.
- 1:05:56So, I don't know what he's up to.
- 1:05:58The guy with the last down is the guy with the 11 to 1, the broadcast of the Midwest baseball that year.
- 1:06:04NWI and D.S. Chicago.
- 1:06:06You know, fans, I may be a little bit lucky in front of my arithmetic.
- 1:06:09Boy, I don't know how I am.
- 1:06:10But I know that no matter how much fields they ball the fly, you can still divide your paycheck open so many ways.
- 1:06:16It'll come so to pay them off.
- 1:06:18So, field throughout town and ball the fly, because you wonder how you're going to get out the bucket.
- 1:06:22You're not going to get your prices $30, right?
- 1:06:24Why not get the cash with yellow?
- 1:06:26Just rarely.
- 1:06:27You've paid them all off.
- 1:06:29You still got to save your money.
- 1:06:31You know, just make sure you keep your money in your bag.
- 1:06:34You've got a short day's pay close and a middle of the day's pay off.
- 1:06:39And if you've got a whole lot of strippers, maybe one must be making the time to divide up your paycheck into a lot of little pieces.
- 1:06:45Figure out the sum you're going to be paying with $25 to $500.
- 1:06:49And get the extra cash or you'll be quickly given a loan from the General Financial Department.
- 1:07:06Last half of the third inning, got it up.
- 1:07:09Gale Wade will be up.
- 1:07:11He's going to have to walk these private stories.
- 1:07:13By the way, I had a telegram to let me meet him in the classroom.
- 1:07:18I'll probably see it after the ball game.
- 1:07:22It came from a new radio station on our network.
- 1:07:25I know if I put it in my suitcase pocket, I would forget it, which I did.
- 1:07:29It's still down at the hotel.
- 1:07:30So, I'm going to acknowledge the voice of Donald Indiana way on Thursday.
- 1:07:34What now, the first play five is called?
- 1:07:37I think so.
- 1:07:38It's called Indiana.
- 1:07:40Gale Wade laid down a foul, but now the first play five is a ground.
- 1:07:45Nobody out, nobody out.
- 1:07:47Another one is up with.
- 1:07:49We're going to see every player your ball game out here.
- 1:07:53A world for beautiful ball play, really, too.
- 1:07:57A way to fill up these stories, first agent again.
- 1:08:01Maybe they'll do it.
- 1:08:03Tony Jacobs, the first title pitcher.
- 1:08:08Ben Low, he's got his wide-open.
- 1:08:11Let's put the foul ball back to the pitcher.
- 1:08:13No, he can't get it.
- 1:08:14First make the shot, go to the pitcher, drop the ball on everybody.
- 1:08:17Well, it's Lee Hommie, slower.
- 1:08:20What is happening to the titles today, good job.
- 1:08:23Good job with the nice and ball play.
- 1:08:25Let's put it that way.
- 1:08:26Today's hit.
- 1:08:28And he's out.
- 1:08:30And he's out.
- 1:08:32He's out.
- 1:08:34Here's what happened.
- 1:08:36He's called for the ball.
- 1:08:38Wade had David Turner's first apparently.
- 1:08:41Or time has not been called.
- 1:08:43And Wade, he is called out by the first take-up line.
- 1:08:47And he walked it away for the bag.
- 1:08:51He gets credit for it.
- 1:08:54But he's out because time has not been called and he walked it away for the bag.
- 1:09:01I guess that's the explanation.
- 1:09:08He even made the turn and then went to the back of the bag or he walked it away from it.
- 1:09:12And time has not been called and they get the physical charge for any problem.
- 1:09:15They could have hit the lockpile on the left of your arm.
- 1:09:19Well, they might even take the yellow away from it.
- 1:09:21I don't know. Let's let the official scorer find out.
- 1:09:27They definitely called for the ball.
- 1:09:29Wade was over almost in the country.
- 1:09:31Rock's got me the last chance.
- 1:09:34And he's elected to defect it.
- 1:09:36And he's called it.
- 1:09:37He's got a one-on-one.
- 1:09:39There's the first time we see something like that at first.
- 1:09:46We're going to check with the official scorer and see what the explanation is.
- 1:09:50And the ball is tied.
- 1:09:52Good one, if you think it.
- 1:09:55Ball two is strike one.
- 1:09:59Wade was out. I think he'll start out with him, though.
- 1:10:03And it's a generous hit.
- 1:10:05There's the line-up.
- 1:10:06The 2-1 first going outside and it's 3-1 for the battle of 21.
- 1:10:13Ball three is strike one.
- 1:10:16Thank you.
- 1:10:18So far today, it's stuck out of sector five.
- 1:10:23Jumped out of the corner with ten hits.
- 1:10:28There's a strike right over the height of the play line-up.
- 1:10:31They're going to get an up-fierce retrieval of that play of third base.
- 1:10:34We have a bunch of stars in this confusion, we are.
- 1:10:36Because we don't know for sure what happened, right?
- 1:10:38It's on for the evasion turn.
- 1:10:40That didn't go back to the bag and they called for the ball when he was out.
- 1:10:43Well, why don't you hit that? That's the ball he wanted to win.
- 1:10:46There's a foul on the foul, though.
- 1:10:48Still right.
- 1:10:49Three and two. Thank you.
- 1:10:50Trying to get all the watch.
- 1:10:53Ball three is strike two.
- 1:11:00He's right-handed battered.
- 1:11:03The star is 11-1.
- 1:11:05It jumps around in front of him.
- 1:11:06This is the last out of the third inning that we feel the world won't be able to walk by.
- 1:11:10Three and two down. Thank you, Bobby.
- 1:11:13Almost to the cutback.
- 1:11:16There's a line-up, I tell you.
- 1:11:18There's a nice strike.
- 1:11:19Ground ball and foul.
- 1:11:20That's great. Good play.
- 1:11:22Ken Moyer is a great player.
- 1:11:23He's a great out of the bullpen.
- 1:11:25They're going to get the upper bench together.
- 1:11:27The count is 93-2.
- 1:11:30The special star will now, as soon as they get the up-fires,
- 1:11:33decide how they're going to play it first.
- 1:11:35It's going to take a little while because
- 1:11:37it was Warnock who called it.
- 1:11:40And Warnock, of course, can't go down there to find out
- 1:11:42until after the beginning of the ball.
- 1:11:44Ball three is strike two.
- 1:11:47There's the line-up, but I expect ball four,
- 1:11:49firing five, right-handed, at the base of the ball.
- 1:11:59Nobody in the special star's box knows what Warnock is calling,
- 1:12:03so they're going to test on it and find out.
- 1:12:05Well, here's five-all.
- 1:12:07Thank you.
- 1:12:08But five-all yesterday off the five is in the way one put it.
- 1:12:12Today he's been up-firing at 52.
- 1:12:15But he's doing it all right.
- 1:12:17Another time he's doing it two-run.
- 1:12:20Thanks, Kevalo.
- 1:12:23Great little scrapper up there in the boundary box.
- 1:12:25He's leading on that first base, Gene Baker.
- 1:12:28What do you think of him?
- 1:12:30Struck his ground and he's ready.
- 1:12:32Here's the six-finger.
- 1:12:33He's got a high five-all. It looks like an easy out.
- 1:12:35The Fed is here with a pulse. He's falling for it, but he's under it.
- 1:12:38He's holding it a little bit.
- 1:12:39He's got it, but out-fired it too.
- 1:12:41He's low.
- 1:12:42He's back into it.
- 1:12:43Thank you.
- 1:12:44Thank you.
- 1:12:46Well, he's fouled.
- 1:12:47There's a circle and a double.
- 1:12:50And an eye on the eye.
- 1:12:54And he digs a bit out of his strike before stepping up.
- 1:12:58Yet there is just a little bit of a gap.
- 1:13:00Three men have elected second place.
- 1:13:02Just through ahead, 11 to 1.
- 1:13:04This is the last out of the third with two outs.
- 1:13:06And Baker on third.
- 1:13:08And he's a heavy dig to fast strike.
- 1:13:10Almost the side eye.
- 1:13:12Or a crossfire delivery.
- 1:13:14And it's a tight one.
- 1:13:18He's the last one.
- 1:13:20Back to down one.
- 1:13:21He's fast-watching.
- 1:13:22A lot of first-takes.
- 1:13:23Thank you, back of the bag.
- 1:13:26And the back-back's a little bit too.
- 1:13:28Back-watched down.
- 1:13:30He's got the back-flip.
- 1:13:32And he hits the ground ball.
- 1:13:33Holds it a 50-50.
- 1:13:34Second base would grab the ball and step it on second.
- 1:13:37Jadie's actually playing a strike top.
- 1:13:39It's an easy fourth out.
- 1:13:44Jadie's got a 50.
- 1:13:46No runs.
- 1:13:47Temporarily, we're going to score it in one hit.
- 1:13:50No errors.
- 1:13:51One man left on.
- 1:13:54And he had a three-inning.
- 1:13:57Here's a big lead for Chicago.
- 1:14:00Chicago has 11 runs on 10 hits.
- 1:14:04The St. Louis Tigers, one run on two hits.
- 1:14:14Here are the other scores.
- 1:14:16Milwaukee, Washington, had a nothing in the other four innings.
- 1:14:20John Cilley, 3rd, 1st, and Kansas laid out.
- 1:14:23And a three-inning, three-win, four-in-the-white track in the big.
- 1:14:26And Cilley, 10, and the City 1, he strikes out eight.
- 1:14:29The other five of eight lost this one all in one run.
- 1:14:33Washington Yankee gave him a breakout.
- 1:14:57Well, here's the end of the matchup.
- 1:15:02The Tigers found right.
- 1:15:04That man was up in play, but on way to play, first place, he was called safe when they sent him off the ball.
- 1:15:11But on the way back, he neglected to touch the bag, and he was called out.
- 1:15:16So he might not have touched the bag in the first place.
- 1:15:19But otherwise, the hand had been fairly safe no matter what happened.
- 1:15:24But anyway, they still give the hit.
- 1:15:26Maybe the offensive score will save him that.
- 1:15:30Well, many of them were going to the foreboding.
- 1:15:33Cilley over 7, and a five-inning clock.
- 1:15:37That's the line up of the face.
- 1:15:39I don't think that relates to my fast-pipes as much as that is probably a central star.
- 1:15:45I'll have to require another telephone conversation between the red blocks and that's a field.
- 1:15:50It's done quite right for me.
- 1:15:52That's the man.
- 1:15:53That one is rubbing around.
- 1:15:56A large bank in the ground in the left field, and he's going to turn the hall.
- 1:16:00Thank God.
- 1:16:01That's up in the ball.
- 1:16:02And he'll be able to drop the bloody shotting way out into the area.
- 1:16:08The singles.
- 1:16:10That's the third hit off in it.
- 1:16:13The base hit.
- 1:16:15The base hit.
- 1:16:16That's the third take.
- 1:16:18The future.
- 1:16:22The play at first base.
- 1:16:27Wade got a bank there.
- 1:16:28His first of the season.
- 1:16:31And a fifth for Jacobs.
- 1:16:32Got a foot off the field.
- 1:16:33He was ball to the ball.
- 1:16:34A wide one to the ball.
- 1:16:36A letter of spike.
- 1:16:38It's a five-point call.
- 1:16:41Well, you see everything.
- 1:16:44Five-point count.
- 1:16:47The line drive overtakes him in the right center for the face-in.
- 1:16:52Can he go for it?
- 1:16:53The base is right side.
- 1:16:54Bravo's catching up on the ball.
- 1:16:55He'll be running second on the way in the third.
- 1:16:57And the ball keeps going to the second base for the goal.
- 1:17:01The line drive.
- 1:17:02The right center field for two bases.
- 1:17:04A letter of the cover now.
- 1:17:07The fourth hit off in it.
- 1:17:08It brings up LFJD.
- 1:17:1211-1.
- 1:17:13It's dumped around the clock.
- 1:17:15The face-in area of the Sunegas.
- 1:17:17Come up with a 50.
- 1:17:18Double-brack.
- 1:17:19The ball keeps.
- 1:17:21Sandy's got it out for the third out of the first city.
- 1:17:23Third and third.
- 1:17:26Bobby can come to the first deep cloud and drop the dinner for the ball.
- 1:17:31As the redhead comes to the batter's side.
- 1:17:35He's in point for the.
- 1:17:38Bobby right out of the gap.
- 1:17:39Watch the other 50.
- 1:17:41Dinner winds up.
- 1:17:42Here comes the bench to the face.
- 1:17:43He's got it out for that goal.
- 1:17:45That's all right.
- 1:17:46It's like one goal.
- 1:17:4811-1.
- 1:17:49It does lead.
- 1:17:50Nobody else but St. Louis, though.
- 1:17:52It's like he's on second and third.
- 1:17:53They're trying to allow a year.
- 1:17:56Maybe it's just a guy that's been going, too.
- 1:17:58It's like one goal.
- 1:17:59And it looks like he's going to find himself.
- 1:18:01Here comes the face.
- 1:18:02Way wide for the ball.
- 1:18:03It's like one.
- 1:18:07Ball in.
- 1:18:08It's like one.
- 1:18:10Well, we hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
- 1:18:13It's really slow out there, I guess, you know.
- 1:18:17I'd play it first.
- 1:18:18It's a like-a-luck.
- 1:18:19I don't think I've ever seen it.
- 1:18:20It's got a black hand.
- 1:18:23Ball on.
- 1:18:24It's like one.
- 1:18:25Dinner jumps out of the wide up.
- 1:18:28Maybe it's just that he's waited long enough to be knocked down on the batter's block.
- 1:18:33There's a 31.
- 1:18:34It's going to come out of there.
- 1:18:35Here's the line-up, but that's very wide for the ball, too.
- 1:18:41That lefty off of Boston.
- 1:18:45Just hit a couple of home runs.
- 1:18:46He's back to the one-on.
- 1:18:47That's the fix for somebody else.
- 1:18:52Ball to.
- 1:18:53It's like one.
- 1:18:55Changed each.
- 1:18:56He makes on second and third.
- 1:18:58Then he goes in the line-up.
- 1:18:59Out he goes.
- 1:19:00He comes to the next section.
- 1:19:01It's fairly wide.
- 1:19:02Ball three.
- 1:19:03He's got to put himself into a jam here.
- 1:19:05Ball here is due to come out there.
- 1:19:09It's three and one for that hand.
- 1:19:12And long call ball.
- 1:19:15Looks down to get the side again.
- 1:19:17Three-one down.
- 1:19:18Down the line-up, but that's just a day.
- 1:19:22Ball on ball.
- 1:19:23It's a lay-up side.
- 1:19:24It's a great high ball.
- 1:19:26Wow, the bases are on it, but the Cubs are going to start somebody warming up.
- 1:19:36It's mother church.
- 1:19:39And that's when it's called time.
- 1:19:41It goes out to the third-
- 1:19:54No bases left.
- 1:19:59No bases left for Gale Wade.
- 1:20:13He was out before he actually went to play safely there.
- 1:20:16They fired from the outside border.
- 1:20:18Like one drawled.
- 1:20:21So that was a real confusion.
- 1:20:23And now the third-ball is here.
- 1:20:25The other manager of the Chicago Cubs is one of the members of the rules committee.
- 1:20:30Great ball.
- 1:20:31And they're quick-scanning ball on.
- 1:20:34It's like doing a jump-gallop.
- 1:20:36It's just the base of the rules.
- 1:20:38And he was out there a little bit.
- 1:20:40He was running that way.
- 1:20:42Fired the lefties, as you can see, but did not lose first base.
- 1:20:45So they put out lots of draws from the third-ball.
- 1:20:52I think he made the throw to the pitcher.
- 1:20:54I hope the pitcher talks to the first baseman.
- 1:20:56That's a right-back.
- 1:20:57And he's playing a second ball.
- 1:21:00That ball is called out on the side.
- 1:21:10Well, we were right, first-base.
- 1:21:12The time on the fly is 3-1-3.
- 1:21:14He'll be on the deck up to the end.
- 1:21:16So poor Gale Wade.
- 1:21:18If it was a very hard-hit ball, you lose as your first base you lay dead.
- 1:21:23But therefore, I have a tournament by-hit.
- 1:21:30There's the down ball past the pitcher.
- 1:21:32Five seconds.
- 1:21:33Baker, the fang, strikes the first base.
- 1:21:36The lefty scores.
- 1:21:37Fails at his fly.
- 1:21:39Baker, cut his spot.
- 1:21:41Short shot.
- 1:21:42Keep up with the ball.
- 1:21:43The runner, Fag, keeps up with it.
- 1:21:47Johnson, the L, runs the throw back to third base too late.
- 1:21:52And the ball's going off in exactly the same spot out there.
- 1:21:55And that little trouble getting over to the fang guy.
- 1:21:57Fag, it runs to Johnson.
- 1:21:58Baker, the fang.
- 1:22:01And the relay back to first base.
- 1:22:04The left's scoring it all.
- 1:22:08And the runner at first is safe.
- 1:22:11Bill Fanny, now he's the right-hander.
- 1:22:13Alex Navas has been the ball on the left side.
- 1:22:16First and third now.
- 1:22:23Two men out.
- 1:22:24And the score is 11-2 in terms of the time he's got.
- 1:22:29Grammity there.
- 1:22:30There's his back.
- 1:22:31That's good for Alex.
- 1:22:32A ground ball to the first base for Jackson.
- 1:22:33He drops the ball.
- 1:22:34And he's back to first.
- 1:22:35Nice, big, and down.
- 1:22:39Third and third.
- 1:22:40One run for Alex.
- 1:22:43One hit.
- 1:22:45Two hits, Alex.
- 1:22:46Two hits.
- 1:22:47Two men out.
- 1:22:48Two men out, John.
- 1:22:49And the first half of the fourth inning is making a sale.
- 1:22:51The score is now, the Cogs will come 11-2 in the broadcast.
- 1:22:56The Cogs will be elected.
- 1:22:57But they failed to the facilities of WIRD at Chicago.
- 1:23:00And the mid-last second ball is up for them.
- 1:23:04WIRD, Chicago.
- 1:23:06The first year of the Little Samples will be a great big help.
- 1:23:10If you need extra cash for 12, you've got to do the R-up, either whatever.
- 1:23:14Now, you know all the things.
- 1:23:16Get some general finance.
- 1:23:18Don't touch your savings.
- 1:23:20Don't touch your money.
- 1:23:22Don't touch the Apple
- 1:23:42or the Apple Watch.
- 1:23:45Don't touch your budget.
- 1:23:46If you miss yourself a buddy, go out and pay a visit to friendly general finance.
- 1:23:48How pounds are you paying for your daily?
- 1:23:50I believe you make them out to you.
- 1:23:5245 Chicago men off.
- 1:23:54Wisted up to $6.38.
- 1:23:56If you're a phone runner, go out and call a budgeted phone right now.
- 1:23:59And over at 3, call 73 to friendly Bob Adams and Kelly McBurton.
- 1:24:04Welcome to St. Vincent's Hall.
- 1:24:05Welcome to St. Vincent's Hall.
- 1:24:13Five-fellow to four-finger ran through Jackson.
- 1:24:15That's Stubbett with the battered black.
- 1:24:20That's the Red Sox.
- 1:24:21They ran one for one.
- 1:24:24They go back and again.
- 1:24:26And the Sun White.
- 1:24:28And they bag on the outside corner.
- 1:24:30That's how high it's like once.
- 1:24:34Right hand under the 11-2.
- 1:24:36It's made with a gut.
- 1:24:37That's the number one.
- 1:24:39That's the number one.
- 1:24:41All these runs, it's taken back.
- 1:24:43He's the one down for the first put.
- 1:24:44That's the one right for left-fail.
- 1:24:46There she goes.
- 1:24:47It's a home run on the capital.
- 1:24:54That's Stubbett.
- 1:24:55That's right.
- 1:24:56A home run on the left over the left-field wall.
- 1:25:02A home run is first on the end.
- 1:25:05It's number four off Jackson.
- 1:25:07That's number one.
- 1:25:11And the Chicago Cubs now lead.
- 1:25:16By four-off-twelve.
- 1:25:24And back to the ball.
- 1:25:26That's five-ball-one.
- 1:25:27One-and-one.
- 1:25:31And three runs start to Jacob now.
- 1:25:35That is an excellent tie.
- 1:25:36The stock is on two and two at all.
- 1:25:39That's three-five.
- 1:25:40That's two of eight.
- 1:25:41That's three on 11.
- 1:25:42That's guy one's on his fourth.
- 1:25:47There's the white up.
- 1:25:48That's the ball on the left side.
- 1:25:50Three-and-all.
- 1:25:51And that'll put banks on.
- 1:25:55Well, sir, thank you.
- 1:25:56The center's going right for our cups this afternoon.
- 1:26:01They're getting far ahead.
- 1:26:04Five gets called.
- 1:26:05The other guys.
- 1:26:06That's not a good place to have some activity in the South of the book there, not a lot.
- 1:26:16Three-one-ten is five-two.
- 1:26:20That was down around these knees on the outside corner.
- 1:26:23That's a good show.
- 1:26:27To the left of the book, that ball up high.
- 1:26:29Here's the white up with three-two.
- 1:26:31But the foul ball is a big big play again.
- 1:26:33It's a long double up behind the book.
- 1:26:35It makes three things around first on the way.
- 1:26:37The second base is a ball.
- 1:26:38And he flies in with a goal.
- 1:26:40And he makes a couple of knuckles inside the third base line.
- 1:26:45Two more bases for the Cubs.
- 1:26:47Oh, that's part of it today.
- 1:26:51The last dark eye, that's a number five.
- 1:26:54I'm going to check the part two, three, four, five, six, that's off this.
- 1:27:01Look at that, that's right.
- 1:27:03Six to three is nine and three is 12.
- 1:27:07Oh, I'm off again.
- 1:27:08I got a little bit more to go.
- 1:27:13Jacobs is third.
- 1:27:15And here we got three runs.
- 1:27:17That's not going to happen.
- 1:27:21And they say that second base is trying to move to third.
- 1:27:26The picture of Tony Jacobs.
- 1:27:28They got him with first base on the second base.
- 1:27:34And the runner's state of second base.
- 1:27:41That's a wonderful play on draw.
- 1:27:43And here's Speedy now.
- 1:27:44Harry has nothing to do with what I'm doing.
- 1:27:46He's all run into trouble yesterday.
- 1:27:49He's got a lot of power.
- 1:27:50He's big enough.
- 1:27:51He's 22 years old.
- 1:27:53He's a big speed.
- 1:27:54He's way too big.
- 1:27:55And he looks that long with first.
- 1:27:58And he's got a little latter eye.
- 1:28:00Like what?
- 1:28:04He's a little less than he was in the previous year, though.
- 1:28:07Like what, Sam?
- 1:28:12And the motion again by Tony Jacobs, the captain expected a very wide throw ball to make it come wide.
- 1:28:20And the captain is lucky enough, good luck for 1955.
- 1:28:23He's involved with Bob Lewis, driver, racetrack, England, and top D.
- 1:28:29And they're getting ready again, a ball in the right one, John.
- 1:28:43It's one or two.
- 1:28:49I think I gave my chart some lobby.
- 1:28:51He's got too many hits right there, three hits off line, one, two, three, that's right.
- 1:28:59Very close with three hits.
- 1:29:03That's right.
- 1:29:04Jacobs, I have a sense of him up in five.
- 1:29:07If the starboard is right at the number of hits.
- 1:29:10They have a 11 up there, and I have a problem with my third dive.
- 1:29:13We have a hundred out, and let's not worry about it.
- 1:29:15It's 12 to 2, his favorite time.
- 1:29:17Strike two, now it's 10.
- 1:29:23They're getting ready again, but that's the high for the ball in two and two.
- 1:29:29Ball two and strike two.
- 1:29:37A short cookout.
- 1:29:41Now he's trying to get a hold of one and driving another round.
- 1:29:43He comes away out of second, he's struck by Tony Jacobs to the next pitch.
- 1:29:47A drop ball back to the left for the tenor, for a maintenance, watch the play.
- 1:29:50The monkey up on the board is on play on the late in the second base.
- 1:29:54He's hit on by J.D., another RBI, and the company 13 to 2.
- 1:29:59Thanks, George, for the second.
- 1:30:01And he's up two with a nice hit to drive in another round.
- 1:30:05That's a lovely hit by Tony Jacobs.
- 1:30:07Ruck over four, and a strike change for the Chicago Thompson, too.
- 1:30:14He's going to the title, and Eddie Deggey walks very slowly out towards the 50 pound,
- 1:30:20and it looks like Charlie Deggey is going to go out and fall apart.
- 1:30:25It was going to look very tired, if he's going to come in with this.
- 1:30:28I think it's all expected to get out today.
- 1:30:32Three hits to the setting off, Tony wants two runs.
- 1:30:38A home run by Jackson, a double by Banks.
- 1:30:41Finally got it out on a plus.
- 1:30:44He's got Banks in with a good foul, single, super-mocked,
- 1:30:46and I think he's going to make it to the center field.
- 1:30:50Now he has fallen apart, and they're going to take Charlie Deggey to the plate,
- 1:30:53out of the second round.
- 1:30:55This is the start, almost the same.
- 1:30:59He's got to come to the tribal goal for the last year, 13 to 4,
- 1:31:03and by that we're searching right.
- 1:31:05I love it today, we're only the last couple of fourths of it, and still one strong.
- 1:31:13Well, Tony Deggey has gone to the dollars.
- 1:31:19Let's see, one, two, three, four.
- 1:31:28He's fallen apart.
- 1:31:33He's a little happy.
- 1:31:35He's with Pittsburgh.
- 1:31:38He's a 33-game for the pilot part, so he's got to get these to three and two.
- 1:31:43He runs four in large mass.
- 1:31:44He's very, very happy about it since he had five more to follow.
- 1:31:47He's got a field experience.
- 1:31:49That's good.
- 1:31:55Well, this is about the afternoon so far.
- 1:31:59It's a fire below.
- 1:32:06I think we're going to get far and dry over here.
- 1:32:09Glad that it's an actual league over here.
- 1:32:11Suddenly, we're off to have a good moment anyway.
- 1:32:14Right.
- 1:32:19We're going to get far better now, I think, in the final lap.
- 1:32:27That's your lefty dollars.
- 1:32:32By five.
- 1:32:34He's got a good start.
- 1:32:49He's starting to take a lead outside.
- 1:32:54He's got a good start.
- 1:33:04He's got a good start.
