- 0:17Speaker 2: Joe, how you doing, Hey, Mark, I'm curious you recently
- 0:22Speaker 2: were talking about the popularity of podcast today. It's like
- 0:25Speaker 2: everybody has their own talk show. Now. I know you're
- 0:29Speaker 2: a fan of Johnny Carson and you know some of
- 0:31Speaker 2: the older talk shows. I'm curious, since you've met a
- 0:34Speaker 2: lot of people over the years, did you know Joe
- 0:36Speaker 2: Franklin at all?
- 0:37Speaker 1: Yes, of course I knew Joe Franklin. He was on
- 0:40Speaker 1: this show many times. I was on his show many times.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Why on earth would anybody in twenty twenty six ask
- 0:46Speaker 1: about Joe frank.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Well, actually I've I saw a few YouTube clips the
- 0:52Speaker 2: Joe Franklin Show, and as odd as it may seem,
- 0:55Speaker 2: I missed the guy. I mean, if you were up
- 0:57Speaker 2: at three in the morning, you know you could rely
- 0:59Speaker 2: on Joe Franklin.
- 1:00Speaker 1: He was a great part of New York. He would
- 1:02Speaker 1: have twelve people on the show. One one would be
- 1:05Speaker 1: Tony Bennett plugging something. The other would be a plumber
- 1:07Speaker 1: next to him. The other would be some young want
- 1:11Speaker 1: to be actress that there's some sponsor wanted to have on.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And absolutely one would be Morris Katz, the painter, And
- 1:19Speaker 1: he'd make everybody talk to everybody Tony Bennett's finished, and
- 1:22Speaker 1: then he'd say to the plumber, Uh, well, what do
- 1:25Speaker 1: you want to ask Tony Bennett?
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he would often do that. He would rely on
- 1:30Speaker 2: the guests to ask one another questions. You know.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he was a very awkward, klutzy guy, but another very.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Nice curious if you did know him, like, what kind
- 1:39Speaker 2: of guy was he? I guess you know, obviously he
- 1:41Speaker 2: was a king.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Nothing bad. He was a very nice man. He had
- 1:45Speaker 1: an office that was legendary. It was just packed with
- 1:48Speaker 1: every piece of memorabilia, every newspaper ever published.
- 1:51Speaker 2: It was you know, I saw that that's on YouTube
- 1:54Speaker 2: as well. I'm curious who inherited that.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:58Speaker 2: He would like floor to every days in that place.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 1: No, he was a very nice guy in real life.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Great thanks for calling.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Hey.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Speaking of podcasting, Johnny Carson, if you love Johnny Carson.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The best podcast ever on this is It's called the
- 2:15Speaker 1: Carson Podcast. There's about five hundred episodes with everybody that
- 2:20Speaker 1: was ever on the Tonight Show, everybody that ever worked
- 2:22Speaker 1: on the Tonight Show. It's called the Carson Podcast. So
- 2:27Speaker 1: check that out. There's hundreds of episodes. You'll absolutely love it.
- 2:30Speaker 1: The Carson Podcast. Let's go to Mark in Nutley, New Jersey. Mark,
- 2:35Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 2:37Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, how are you good. I've been a
- 2:41Speaker 4: longtime listener. I listen to you up here in New Jersey,
- 2:44Speaker 4: and then I listen to you when I'm in Florida.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Very good every day. Anyways, I have a two fold question.
- 2:50Speaker 4: First of all, how do you see this war ending?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Number one?
- 2:54Speaker 4: And number two, who do you see getting the next
- 2:56Speaker 4: Republican nomination?
- 2:57Speaker 1: You know, it's not just you. Everybody asked that. You
- 3:00Speaker 1: got to not ask that. That's like saying who's going
- 3:02Speaker 1: to win the super Bowl in twenty twenty nine. You
- 3:05Speaker 1: can't predict that.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That's a good question.
- 3:07Speaker 1: You can't predict that. There's no way nothing will be
- 3:12Speaker 1: the same in twenty twenty eight. Everything changes a thousand times.
- 3:16Speaker 1: That's fun to make guesses, but they don't mean anything.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Right now. So well, I'll just say whoever you like, Uh, well,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you got a lot of great choices. You got Rubio,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you got Vance, you got also check back. Historically, usually
- 3:30Speaker 1: whoever the nominee is going to be has not yet
- 3:32Speaker 1: appeared at this point, especially on the Democratic side, at
- 3:35Speaker 1: this point, nobody knew of Bill Clinton, nobody knew of
- 3:38Speaker 1: Mike Decaucus. Usually the nominee has not appeared yet, so
- 3:43Speaker 1: or Obama. Yeah, good point. Well, thanks for calling. Let's
- 3:47Speaker 1: go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mara. Mark. Apparently, from what
- 3:54Speaker 3: I've been hearing and from people calling in other shows,
- 3:58Speaker 3: the Democrats and their Minion and our European allies are
- 4:02Speaker 3: okay with the Iranians killing a few hundred American soldiers
- 4:07Speaker 3: and tourists over the years here and there. What is
- 4:09Speaker 3: it that's only two hundred soldiers twenty tourists a couple
- 4:13Speaker 3: is rarely now, let them be, Let it go on, Mark.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I believe that the Federal Trade Commission should threaten the
- 4:22Speaker 3: big three oil companies. We're looking at their books to
- 4:27Speaker 3: see if they're price gouging, because, as Richard from South
- 4:30Speaker 3: Carolina said from Myrtle Beach. If these companies bought this oil,
- 4:36Speaker 3: which they're not going to you know, the ships are
- 4:38Speaker 3: not coming in every day to supply the oil for
- 4:41Speaker 3: the week. If they have these this oil was in
- 4:44Speaker 3: the storage tanks before the war began, and they're selling
- 4:48Speaker 3: it at these extremely high prices, then they are priced galgy.
- 4:53Speaker 1: What they're doing is there's no reason to raise the
- 4:55Speaker 1: price of oil because we produce all our own oil,
- 4:57Speaker 1: has nothing to those overseas. But they've raised it to
- 4:59Speaker 1: match the world price. If you if you clamp down
- 5:02Speaker 1: on him and don't let him do it, they'll just
- 5:03Speaker 1: cut production. They'll create a shortage and they'll raise the price.
- 5:07Speaker 3: So well, I was just the thought came up because
- 5:10Speaker 3: maybe with the threat of the Trump Federal Trade Commission
- 5:14Speaker 3: saying hey, we want to see your books, man, the books.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Will just they'll show that they race it to match
- 5:20Speaker 1: the world price, and if you tell them not to,
- 5:21Speaker 1: they'll cut production. They'll cut production.
- 5:24Speaker 3: And then yeah, unfortunately, you're right, Mark, You're you're you're right.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I don't have a comeback for that.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It happens once in a while. Well, great call, Vincent,
- 5:33Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back got lots
- 5:36Speaker 1: to talk to Bill O'Reilly about. He'll be with us
- 5:39Speaker 1: next on seven to ten wor
