- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Be polite.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Be professional.
- 1:02SPEAKER_04: But have a plan to kill everybody you meet.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: It's good advice.
- 1:08SPEAKER_04: General James Mattis.
- 1:10SPEAKER_04: Mad Dog.
- 1:11SPEAKER_04: Call sign Mad Dog.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Mad Dog Mattis.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:14SPEAKER_04: Did I ever tell you I served under Mattis briefly in Hawaii?
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: He was a colonel back then.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Wait, is he is he the one that you have on you had on your old car you have on this car?
- 1:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_04: It says make killing great again.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: That's the one.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: So you served under him?
- 1:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: He was our commanding officer for a while.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we were uh, I remember one time we were we had PT one morning.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: And then it was raining.
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: It was kind of it was wintertime because it was raining.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: It was Hawaii.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: And uh so after PT we decided, let's play some football.
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: So we're out on the uh headquarters lawn because it was huge.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:53SPEAKER_04: We're out there playing playing football.
- 1:56SPEAKER_04: Well, I look.
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: I look up towards headquarters.
- 1:59SPEAKER_04: He's standing on the on the he's standing outside.
- 2:02SPEAKER_04: Mad dog is.
- 2:03SPEAKER_04: Mad Dog standing out there watching us.
- 2:04SPEAKER_04: He's got a cup of coffee in his hand.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:06SPEAKER_04: And we're like, I was like, oh yeah, it's Colonel Mattis.
- 2:09SPEAKER_04: Everyone's like, whoa.
- 2:10SPEAKER_04: You know, right?
- 2:11SPEAKER_04: So he leaves.
- 2:13SPEAKER_04: We're we're continuing to play.
- 2:14SPEAKER_04: We look again.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: He had actually gone inside and gotten a chair, dragged it outside, sat down, and started was drinking coffee watching us play football.
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: So that's cool.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: It was cool, yeah.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Speaking of football, so fantasy, our draft went pretty well.
- 2:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we our first ever live draft.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Well, I kind of like it.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I uh it was kind of fun.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to do it, but I think I made out pretty well.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: I think we all I think we all did pretty well.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Uh I didn't like how it was set up.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: You didn't like the snake?
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess I didn't understand it.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Well, here's the thing.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: So uh so I was dead last.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure why, but I I think it was a random, yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: But I picked dead last, so there was 12 of us.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: So I was number 12.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: So obviously it had to go through all of you to get to me.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: And each of us got two picks each time.
- 3:07SPEAKER_04: So Well, no, we got one pick per round.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: I thought you got two.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: No.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: I picked two pl players per round.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: I don't Well, that's because you were the last one, so you went first when the snake went back.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: Oh actually, you went last and then you went first in the next round.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Okay, well maybe that explains it then.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: But then it it like doubled every time.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: So so some of you guys got like several like like I saw um Jude, you know, he would pick one and then go through like five people and then he'd pick again.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: And then I don't know, I don't I don't remember seeing that.
- 3:46SPEAKER_04: Because I only I only picked once per round.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: Uh well it seemed like it went back to everybody else twice.
- 3:54SPEAKER_04: It was going fast.
- 3:56SPEAKER_04: I think I think it was uh I think you were just I think you were getting lost.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: No, because here's the thing.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: So the first the first one, the first round, it said um you can you can pick in in uh ten players.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: Ten places away.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: Right, right, ten places away.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: The next time it said you pick in 14 away.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: And then and then it got up to 22.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: It's like you pick 22 away.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: So I it had to go through 22 things, and then it got to me.
- 4:28SPEAKER_08: That doesn't make any sense.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: So I didn't understand it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: I'm like, and I'm looking, I'm like, oh, nobody took McCaffrey.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: Nobody took McCaffrey.
- 4:36SPEAKER_04: Damn it, somebody took McCaffrey.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Well, Eli took him first in.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: He had first pick.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: He took him right right off the bat.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: I know, he tried to, he tried to to trade with me.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: He was gonna give me McCaffrey uh for like two running backs and uh he like like for four players, he was gonna give me McCaffrey.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: Holy crap, yeah.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: I don't know if it was for four, but maybe three, but yeah, but yeah, and I I turned him down.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: Because I uh my team is is pretty decent.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: I got Josh Allen.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley uh as running back, Samara Cooper uh as wide receiver.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: I did think that I picked Jerry Rice's kid, but I didn't.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I picked Rashi Rice uh and he's had You just saw Rice and we're like, Oh, it's Jerry Rice's kid! I knew I knew Rice's kid played in the in the league.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: So I thought it was him, but uh this kid apparently has some legal issues, so I'm not sure if he's actually going to see.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: I got Godwin um as a wide receiver, Harrison Butker, and oh, and and my my son called me an A-hole, which was the first time uh that's ever happened because I took the Niners uh defense.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Defense?
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, as soon as I took them, I got a private message from Jude.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: He's like, Yup, a hole.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: So Yeah, I think it was kind of fun.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: It was fun for the for our first uh live.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: Normally we do the auto pick and autopick, yeah.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: And we get what we get.
- 6:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: You know, but we'll see.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: We'll see how it's this is gonna be a fun year.
- 6:06SPEAKER_04: We've got some new players.
- 6:07SPEAKER_04: We do.
- 6:07SPEAKER_04: So it's injected some life into the league.
- 6:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: I ordered new trophies.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: I heard that.
- 6:14SPEAKER_04: Uh no, you want to give a hint as to what the well the first place is a replica of the Lombardi trophy.
- 6:19SPEAKER_04: Oh, cool.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: It's like 10 inches high.
- 6:21SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 6:21SPEAKER_04: Be nice.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: And the uh last place trophy is a toilet.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: Just like the one we have.
- 6:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like the one we have or had.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Who has it?
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: I have no idea.
- 6:29SPEAKER_04: That's why that's why I had my new I figure with new players, let's let's you know, let's start fresh.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: I even I even changed the name of the league.
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I saw that.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're now Fridge Pants.
- 6:38SPEAKER_04: Fridge Pants, yeah.
- 6:39SPEAKER_04: Instead of Common Crossing.
- 6:40SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 6:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:41SPEAKER_04: Well there's you know, there's only the whole two of us left.
- 6:44SPEAKER_04: So yeah.
- 6:45SPEAKER_04: Well, Josh too.
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: But I don't think he's paying attention to it.
- 6:48SPEAKER_04: I don't think so either.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: He was on auto auto pick, right?
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's he's uh yeah, I don't think he's gonna pay attention, but that's okay.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah, I'm excited about that.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: I think it's gonna be fun.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: First game is this Thursday, right?
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Thursday's Thursday's opener, so yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: I'm so glad football season is back.
- 7:05SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: My wife is not glad football season is back.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: My wife makes fun of me.
- 7:10SPEAKER_04: Um your life your wife likes soccer.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: Well, I like soccer too.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: Football.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: But uh she's just you know, uh she's Well I I don't I don't think she likes the hype around uh Well that's true NFL.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_04: Because I mean it's ever it's all the time now.
- 7:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was a Thursday night game.
- 7:30SPEAKER_04: Now they're gonna have Saturday games.
- 7:32SPEAKER_04: They are?
- 7:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:33SPEAKER_04: Oh I didn't hear that.
- 7:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:34SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 7:35SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 7:36SPEAKER_04: Because it's the NFL.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: Like not every Saturday.
- 7:39SPEAKER_04: Not every Saturday, no.
- 7:40SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 7:40SPEAKER_04: Okay, it's still college football.
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's dumb.
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: That's dumb.
- 7:44SPEAKER_04: I think I think it's around the holidays they're gonna have a Saturday.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: Saturday.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: Well, they they have Saturday.
- 7:49SPEAKER_04: They've done that before.
- 7:50SPEAKER_04: They've done it on Prime, Amazon Prime.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: But they also do well, the they have games on Saturdays for during playoffs sometimes.
- 7:57SPEAKER_04: Sometimes, yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, during the playoffs.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:00SPEAKER_04: But I think they're gonna have regular.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: So it's all about the TV and the radio.
- 8:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's about making money.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of course it is.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: It's not about playing.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, come on, I suppose.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: And I do I have do I do have to say I felt really just icky because what what what were we doing?
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: We're talking about the draft or they're talking about something, and oh uh oh, it was the the the Niners guy, Pearsall, that got shot.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: And I I can't believe the thought came into my head that I hope I don't get him in the draft.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I didn't even see him listed.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: He was listed.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: Was he?
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he was listed.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Didn't he use him?
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Um but then I thought something like because Well, you know you know he's not gonna play.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: Of course not.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: So of course not.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: And if he does, he's superhuman.
- 8:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Um but was it um uh Kaepernick that used to say that they were like slaves?
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: You know, and Yeah, you made a whole commercial about it.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: But I thought I felt that way as I was like, oh he's injured, uh, I don't want to do that.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: So yeah, well, I'm picking this guy because this and this is and it felt like oh, he's a good worker.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, I need him.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: He's a good worker, I need him.
- 9:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but that's the whole point of fantasy league.
- 9:13SPEAKER_04: I know it's picking the best players that you can find.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: I know, but I couldn't help but feel dirty.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: But it was it's all good.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: It's all good.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: They don't know us.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: I'll get over it.
- 9:21SPEAKER_04: They don't know us, they don't know what's going on.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: I'll get over it.
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: Um cousin Larry's in our league.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: It's so much fun.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: That's gonna be cool.
- 9:30SPEAKER_04: I've been cousin.
- 9:31SPEAKER_04: We got cousin Larry now, we got Olivia, which is awesome.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: The girl.
- 9:34SPEAKER_04: The girl.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: You know, all your kids are all your kids except Meyer are playing.
- 9:38SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 9:39SPEAKER_04: And we got Johnny B.
- 9:40SPEAKER_04: Yep, which is awesome.
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: And then we got Bob and two of his boys.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: It's it's crazy, man.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: This is gonna be so much fun.
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be fun.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: There was already trash talk during the the draft, so did you ask Shane if he wasn't gonna play?
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: No, he just dropped out.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: He just dropped out.
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: On his own?
- 9:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:59SPEAKER_04: Let's just try.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: Well, he wasn't he said last season he wasn't gonna he didn't play last season either.
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 10:04SPEAKER_04: So, I mean, you know, he just that's why he turned over the commissioner job to me.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: You know, it's funny.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: Uh, you watch, Joko won't play.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: You know, Joko won't pay attention and he'll like win the whole thing.
- 10:16SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think he'll win the whole thing, but he'll do he'll do better than he thinks.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm sure.
- 10:20SPEAKER_04: It'll be like week eight and he'll be like, oh yeah, I'm playing football.
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: Uh so let's get to this.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: We have um we have a gig this weekend.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: It's our last one of the season.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: Um syndicate season.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: Yep, coming to an end.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: So we're playing Easton.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: Um, and I think we're outside, right?
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's supposed to be nice.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: It's supposed to be, yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_04: It's not supposed to rain till like after midnight, so we should be okay.
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: So uh excited about that.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: That's gonna be quite kind of cool.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: You and I have a bunch of gigs coming up.
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're playing the down under at the end of the month.
- 10:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:59SPEAKER_04: We got something next weekend.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the airport.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: I've been playing at the airport for like an hour.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Um I'll take it though, right?
- 11:09SPEAKER_05: Stuck in the middle with I don't know if there's gonna be airplanes.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: You know, honestly, Caribou's got an airport, but I've never seen a plane land or take off from there.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: Neither have I.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Ever.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Nope, neither have I.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Uh but it's supposedly it's for the Oktoberfest, is what it's for.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: It's September.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 11:29SPEAKER_04: So is Caribou like, ah, screw it.
- 11:31SPEAKER_04: We're gonna have Oktoberfest in September.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: Probably.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: Ha ha!
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Actually, it wouldn't be ahead of everybody.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: It'd be the Central Heuristic Chamber of Commerce who represents Caribou as well.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: So that's who's running it.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: So that's who did they not look at a calendar?
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: And that's who hired us.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: They're like, Maybe October was booked up.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: There's 31 days.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: You can't pick one of them.
- 11:50SPEAKER_04: Jeez.
- 11:51SPEAKER_04: Come on, guys, do better.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah, so that's coming up.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: Um I'm trying to think of where else.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: We've got a couple private functions uh that we're doing.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: Uh it's been a bit busy summer for you and I anyway.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, we've played quite a few places.
- 12:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we've we've done some gigs.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: We've traveled.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: Um we're uh oh, oh, let me tell uh talk to you about um band names.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Because here and we should talk about this a little bit.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Because if the more we talk about it, the more it might become a reality.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Uh so we have Skinny Elvis, which is our 90s rock band.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: And um I know there's somebody is trying to work out a gig for us.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Um I can't remember where it was.
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: But somebody in Skinny Elvis?
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: So uh we Is it our captain?
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: Uh I think so.
- 12:37SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: Um so we'll see.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: I don't know where that stands, but we might be have we might be getting another gig.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: So it won't be a one-off.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Well, that'd be good.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'd like to play again.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: I would too.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Um we are putting together, and we've talked about this uh a little bit here and there with a couple of different people.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Um, but now there's interest, a more interest in starting a nineties country band.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: And um so member members of the syndicate.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: Actually, basically would be Skinny Elvis.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: Well, it's basically Skinny Elvis and the Drummer's Wife.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: So we're we'll be doing stuff from the nineties like Jody Messina, Faith Hill, you know, um Alan Jackson, things like that.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Um and there's a couple of members of the band that don't really like country music.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: Uh actually a lot of the members of the band that don't really like country music.
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: Half the band likes it, half the band just wants to play.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: Um, so but we're trying to come up with a name.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Because you know that's the biggest thing.
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: I know I sent you a message and and had to come up with a couple.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: Uh Chris Morton didn't realize you don't remember that.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Which the one that you really liked that we can't use.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: Wow, this was just not not that long ago.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Anyway, I told Chris Morton about it.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: And which which name?
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: And I told him where it came from.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: And it was from a Hootie and the Blowfish video.
- 14:14SPEAKER_05: Oh, Dry Wretched Thunder.
- 14:16SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: So they were trying to name their second album.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: And Darius looks at the camera and is like, I got a name for our album, Dry Wretched Thunder.
- 14:24SPEAKER_04: I think it's a great band name.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: I know you too.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: Um and so that was a joke.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: And then by then I came up with one called The Love Bugs because I thought it would be kind of neat to name something after after a country song.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: This would happen to be a George Strait song.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Actually, I think it was originally a George Jones song, but um George Strait had a hit with it.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: And I thought kind of, you know, spell it differently.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of love bugs bands.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of bands.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: And and I don't know if I I don't know.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was just an idea.
- 14:52SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: But I tossed a couple things around with the other guys.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: Uh I talked to Simon Off and and Morton.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: I ran into uh the Mortons at Walmart and ran this by them, and they like this idea.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Um and again, this is not definite.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: So the Mortons live here.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Simon Offs lives here, live here.
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: Joel lives here.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: Central location kind of for them is Haystack.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: So I had to come up with Haystack Union.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: That's not bad.
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: And Jordan's like, I kinda like that.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: It's not bad.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, but I thought using Haystack in there somehow would be kind of cool.
- 15:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: You know, because it's like a kind of country-ish thing.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if it's not a uh central location for us, it's a central location for them.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: So Haystack Union or or Yeah, I kinda like that.
- 15:47SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 15:47SPEAKER_04: We'll see.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: Um so my computer, I went to sleep there, because I wake up.
- 15:53SPEAKER_08: I left it unattended.
- 15:54SPEAKER_08: Wake up.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: We'll see where that goes.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Noise.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Um she sent a bunch of uh she probably didn't send them to you yet.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: She's trying to start a thread, by the way.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: To include everybody and just, you know.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: But she sent me a a bunch of songs.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you what those are?
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: Let's just let's just do that.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Um because you'll see what kind of thing we're dealing with.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: Um so she sent me like ten songs.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Chris Morton had sent John Simon off ten different songs.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Good, good.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: So Heads Carolina, Jody Messina, Heads Carolina, Tales California.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: The Shake, Neil McCoy.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: I think we've done that before.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we did that with my man of mine, Shania Twain.
- 16:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, that'll be fun.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know how we can do that without a fiddle, but we'll see.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: We'll figure it out.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: X's and O's, Trisha Yearwood, John Deere Green, Joe Diffie, Meet in the Middle, Diamond Rio, My Baby Loves Me, Martina McBride, Watermelon Crawl, Tracy Bird.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: Uh T-R-O-U-B-L-E by Travis Tritt.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: That's a great song.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: That's a good song.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: I'm in a Hurry by Alabama.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: See, all good stuff.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, and and stuff that not not everybody plays.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: So we'll see, we'll see how that goes.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Um Yeah.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Sweet.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: I should tell you this too.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Actually, no.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Well yeah.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: It's kind of tooting my own horn.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Um I'm doing something cool with my chorus this year.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: Did I tell you this?
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's sounding so good.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's a it's a chorus piece that I wrote.
- 17:34SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: Um, and I'm already so we're like three weeks in and we've already got two songs like done.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Almost done.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: I shouldn't say that.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, we'll fix it up.
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: Well, you got well, you got harvest coming up.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: I do, that's the thing.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: So I wanted to get I wanted to get the easy ones out of the way.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: So that when they come back from harvest, we don't have a lot of work to do.
- 17:54SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: So um the the next thing is to introduce a couple of the harder songs.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: But I gotta tell you, I get goosebumps every time they they sing my song.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: Uh it's it's gonna be cool.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: No, I'm excited.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: I'm excited.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: I'm glad, man.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: Okay, let's do this first, and then we'll get to our big thing.
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: Uh Jonathan Cain.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: Uh you know, Jonathan Cain has been so happy with Neil uh Sean of Journey.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: I wonder what his legal bills look like.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Um he's been uh suing uh Neil Sean because Apparently likes to do.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: They have a business to the it's a company, right?
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: And they have a business credit card.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: And John Cain uh accuses Neil Sean of extravagant purchases.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: You know, like unnecessary purchases, like in the millions of dollars on this credit card.
- 18:52SPEAKER_04: How do you purchase millions of dollars on a credit card?
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: I I don't know.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: Um I didn't know people had a limit like that.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: So uh let's see, John Kane has claimed victory in the legal battle with Neil Sean of Journey.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: In a decision shared on August 28th, Sean ceded to Mr.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: Kane's demand that a third director be assigned to their joint touring company, Freedom 2020.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: The announcement notes that Mr.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: Sean is prohibited from unilaterally acting on behalf of the company, and all future deadlock between Mr.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Kane and Mr.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: Sean will be broken by the vote of the custodian.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Cain is elated with the outcome.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: The janitor?
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: Kane is elated with the outcome and looks forward to moving beyond this matter so that Journey can continue the band's fiftieth anniversary freedom tour.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: So all he did uh all he won was um the the right to have a third party in there.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: And hopefully it's an objective third party.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Um so that if Neil Sean wants to spend all this money and Jonathan King doesn't want him to spend all that money, the third party can will come in and say, Yeah, I think you could spend it.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Or yeah, you probably shouldn't.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: And so he'd be he'd be the the decision maker sort of.
- 20:06SPEAKER_04: You know he should get who?
- 20:07SPEAKER_04: Elon Musk.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: I think that'd be great.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: I mean you could cover all the you know he could cover all the He'd be like, here, I'll just give you the money.
- 20:15SPEAKER_04: Here you go.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Um is the the third party is probably gonna be John Cain's wife.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: That's not objective.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Not at all.
- 20:24SPEAKER_04: Not objective.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: You know, they should they should get you know somebody from like a different band.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: From a different band?
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Like the opening act?
- 20:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we don't think so.
- 20:35SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 20:38SPEAKER_05: I love separate worlds.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: Um all right.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: So moving on to this, this is another uh piece from Ultimate Classic Rock.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: So last week we talked about.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: Well, we did, right?
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Our top five uh hairbands.
- 20:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, who we think and who we thought and what we think doesn't matter.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: Well, it does matter, but it doesn't.
- 21:03SPEAKER_04: Not according to Ultimate Classic Rock.
- 21:05SPEAKER_04: It doesn't matter because they don't know us.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 21:07SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: We just use their stuff.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: Well now they have a new article.
- 21:11SPEAKER_04: Ah.
- 21:11SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: The who are the big four of Prague Rock.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: Now let's define prog rock.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, I can tell you what bands that I think fit into that category, but Prague obviously meaning progressive, which is kind of a blanket statement.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: What is what is progressive rock?
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so let's see what Google says.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: Oh good.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: Um that'll be fun.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: So Hey Google Are you doing it?
- 21:44SPEAKER_03: Hey Google What's the definition of progressive rock?
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: So lengthy compositions.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: Um Classical influences.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Classical influences.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: So a lot of a lot of notes, probably.
- 22:15SPEAKER_04: There's there's a part she didn't read here.
- 22:16SPEAKER_04: The song lasts nearly 14 minutes and is a classic example of all that's good in progressive rock.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, what song?
- 22:23SPEAKER_04: It doesn't say.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: It's just it's just a like a typically longer.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: I think it's like one of those like define the word through, you know, you know, get the resonance or whatever.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: Typically longer pieces.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: Intricate.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: Lots of instrumentation, different instrumentation, lots of notes.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Uh probably requires a very, very a group of very, very talented musicians.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: True.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Um and I don't know th theme-wise, like the music would be like uh or the lyrics I should say, would be more like I guess it could be anything.
- 23:00SPEAKER_04: I don't think the lyrics matter.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: It's it's it's the musical instrumentation.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: You know, the song the song itself.
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: How it's structured and stuff like that.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: So when you think progressive rock, who's what's the first band that comes to mind?
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: Rush.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: Rush.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: And that I would say that too.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Rush is not a straight up rock band.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: No.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Rush is a progressive rock band.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 23:19SPEAKER_04: That's been since the beginning.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Very complicated.
- 23:21SPEAKER_04: Well, no, no, the first album was more straight rock.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:24SPEAKER_04: But that's when they were with uh John Rutzby.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 23:27SPEAKER_04: So and he was more of a straight drummer, and then when they got to Neil, then they were like, all right, let's do different stuff.
- 23:32SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 23:32SPEAKER_04: Oh, look, Neil reads books.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: He writes stuff.
- 23:35SPEAKER_04: Let him write songs.
- 23:36SPEAKER_04: And he plays drums really good.
- 23:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and he's a really good drummer.
- 23:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so so I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure that's exactly how that conversation went.
- 23:44SPEAKER_04: So I would say In that voice, exactly.
- 23:47SPEAKER_04: Your buddy is Neil.
- 23:48SPEAKER_05: He plays drums really good.
- 23:50SPEAKER_05: Hey?
- 23:53SPEAKER_05: You gotta throw the A's.
- 23:54SPEAKER_05: Well, they're Canadian.
- 23:55SPEAKER_05: Come on, everybody gonna know.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah, Rush would be my the first one that comes to mind for me.
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: Um give me another one.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: Queen's Reich.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: So you you so Queen's Reich, you consider progressive rock.
- 24:08SPEAKER_04: They're progressive metal.
- 24:09SPEAKER_04: Progressive metal.
- 24:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:11SPEAKER_04: But they use a lot of I mean, if you listen to the Operation Mind Crime album, yeah, it's very diverse.
- 24:18SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:20SPEAKER_04: I'm not sure that I consider them progressive.
- 24:22SPEAKER_04: I mean, I mean they're not I mean, are they in the top four?
- 24:25SPEAKER_04: No.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: But I would say proggy.
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: They're definitely proggy, actually.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, proggy.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: Uh I wouldn't I don't know if I go out and say all out progressive rock.
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: No, no.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: Dream Theater.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: Dream Theater is so proggy.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, very prog.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: The band, yes.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: Prague.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: Um who else?
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: Genesis.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: Early Genesis.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: Early Genesis.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: Early Genesis with the Big Bang.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: With uh Peter Gabriel.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're definitely progressive.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Um let's see, who else?
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: Uh I wanna say we said yes, right?
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Um Would you say Emerson Lake and Palmer?
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: No?
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: You think so?
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Um, I might throw them in the Froggy.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: They might be in the lower echelons of Prog, but uh newer band that I don't even think exists anymore, but Sons of Apollo.
- 25:28SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, well that's Mike Courtnoy anyway.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Right, so that would be progressive metal.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: Uh who else?
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Um I'm sure some will come to us.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: Um let's look at what Ultimate Classic Rock says.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, I think it's a good one.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: The top four of Prong Rock.

- 28:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 28:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:18SPEAKER_02: In nature.
- 28:19SPEAKER_04: Uh I mean, Zeppelin did that a time or two.
- 28:22SPEAKER_04: They did, you know, they got a lot of their inspiration from Lord of the Rings.
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: Well, there are definitely songs from Led Zeppelin that could be considered proper.
- 28:30SPEAKER_04: You know, uh Battle of Evermore, you know.
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: Achilles' Last.
- 28:33SPEAKER_04: Achilles Last In.

- 29:31SPEAKER_05: It's a 20-minute song.
- 29:38SPEAKER_04: Didn't this take up a whole side?
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's the whole when you get the 2112 like a vinyl album, the whole first side is 2112.
- 29:46unknown: Right.
- 29:47SPEAKER_04: Right.

- 29:50SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: Like two.
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: And that was like three or four.
- 29:54SPEAKER_04: Is there three or four?
- 29:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.

- 30:52SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: Uh can you think of any more?
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: I'm just curious.
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: I've got one.
- 30:57SPEAKER_04: I think I think we I think we I think we uh extinguished our uh our our knowledge of prog rock.
- 31:05SPEAKER_02: Well, I have one other band here that I was introduced to.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: Uh this one right here.
- 31:15SPEAKER_02: This is a band called uh Big Big Train.
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: And you'll never guess.
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: Actually, you might guess who introduced me to Big Big Train and who is a big fan of progressive rock.
- 31:31SPEAKER_04: Sounds like Kevin.
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: It is.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: Of course it's Kevin.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: This is Kevin.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he he let me this uh music.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: Um well, this is English Electric Part 1 in 2012, and then they released English Electric Part 2 in 2013.
- 31:50SPEAKER_04: So they're a newer band?
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think so.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: I well actually I think they're uh I don't know how old they are.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: I don't know how long they've been around.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: But I mean you listen just listen to this.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: Um it's very progressive rock.
- 32:06SPEAKER_04: It's very it's kind of jazz beautiful.
- 32:08SPEAKER_04: It's like early steely dance.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, let me see.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: See now, this is different than what I thought it was.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: Listen to some of the song titles.
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: Curator of Butterflies.
- 32:38SPEAKER_15: Uh Swan Hunter.
- 32:43SPEAKER_15: Summoned by Bell.
- 32:45SPEAKER_15: Judas Unrepentant.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: This is this song here is called Winchester from St.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: Giles Hill.
- 32:57SPEAKER_04: I mean, like Yeah, this is a prong band if I ever heard one of the.
- 33:02SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 33:03SPEAKER_04: Big big drink.
- 33:04unknown: In a place where the river banks draw near.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: I like it though.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean it's good.
- 33:11SPEAKER_02: It's good stuff.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so we picked our our big four or big big five or whatever it was, and I think we were pretty close.
- 33:22SPEAKER_04: We were pretty close.
- 33:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:24SPEAKER_04: Um We had three out of four, so.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: Who uh I feel like who are we missing?
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: I'm curious.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: I just want to look it up.
- 33:30SPEAKER_02: So let's see.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: Progressive rock.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Let me just see what uh what it lists here.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: The best progressive rock bands.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: 50 classic groups.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: There's 50 progressive rock bands.
- 33:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, look at that.
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: There's a picture of Rush.
- 33:45SPEAKER_04: Of course there is.
- 33:46SPEAKER_02: Of course there is.
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: Aphrodite's Child.
- 33:49SPEAKER_02: Never heard of.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: Tangerine Dream, I've heard of.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: Uh.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna go down because I'm not gonna name all of these.
- 33:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: Uh, but just the ones that maybe we've heard of.
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: Uh, can you see that?
- 34:01SPEAKER_04: No.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 34:03SPEAKER_04: I can see it, but I can't.
- 34:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, Kansas.
- 34:05SPEAKER_04: I would never consider Kansas property.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Well, I would, because uh if you think beyond like the songs that they released to radio, yeah.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: Um, a lot of long, um, intricate pieces on their on their albums.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I would I would put Kansas in there.
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: Um if you don't if you don't think about like carry on Wayward Sun or Dust in the Wind and things like that.
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: Um Or I uh maybe I wouldn't consider them a prog rock band, but prog y, like we said.
- 34:34SPEAKER_04: Like Queens Rick.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like you're an adjective.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, big big trains on this list.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: Hawk Wind, I've heard of Hawkwind.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, I've heard of Hawkwind.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: I've heard of Hawk Wind.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, Procol Harum.
- 34:46SPEAKER_04: I guess I never would have.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: Gotta say, I have only heard White or Shade of Pale.
- 34:49SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:50SPEAKER_02: Oh no, and Conquistador.
- 34:51SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: Um The Mars Volta.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: I've heard of them.
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: Dream Theater.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: Focus?
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: Remember the band Focus?
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: And the song Hocus Focus?
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: You don't?
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: You do though.
- 35:06SPEAKER_04: Um it's a funky song.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: Um it's basically nonsense.
- 35:25SPEAKER_02: Um you'll recognize it.
- 35:29SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 35:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: I have heard of this one.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: And I think uh this is the one where he like when he starts singing.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: It's just like Yodels or something.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think we talked about this not too long ago.
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there it is.
- 35:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: Yes, I would consider this progra.
- 35:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:04SPEAKER_04: Yep, that's progressive.
- 36:07SPEAKER_04: It's progressive right there.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: It's still, I mean, it's good stuff though.
- 36:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:15SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: I'm just kind of digging that big, big train.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: That was pretty good.
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, it's good.
- 36:20SPEAKER_02: It is good.
- 36:21SPEAKER_02: Um, there's a band called Utopia.
- 36:22SPEAKER_02: I've heard of them.
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: Todd Rundgren was in Utopia.
- 36:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 36:27SPEAKER_02: Um Most of these I've never Moody Blues.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: They considered prog rock.
- 36:32SPEAKER_04: I never would have considered them though, but alright.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: Uh they lost.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: Says the Moody may have lost some of their prog rock cred when they shifted toward pop music in the 80s, but the album albums fans called the Classic Seven, Days of Future Pass through to Seven Sojourn, were groundbreaking in every way.
- 36:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: Alright, I'll go with it.
- 36:50SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Uh Jethro Tull.
- 36:54SPEAKER_04: You know, you gotta Kinda I well, kind of proggy.
- 36:56SPEAKER_02: You gotta look past the songs that were on the radio, but yeah, uh, you know, I think.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: I guess.
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: Uh some of these other ones I've not heard of.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: Porcupine tree, I've heard of.
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: Ooh, they have Emerson, Lake, and Palmer on here.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: As Progrock.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: Arguably ELP only worked because it was a super group.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: The flamboyant and prodigiously gifted keyboardist Keith Emerson would have overwhelmed most other bands.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: Luckily, in this case, he had a world-class rhythm section in Greg Lake and Greg Palmer, and a heartthrob vocalist in Lake.
- 37:25SPEAKER_02: They made a few stabs at pop, but sidelong epics like Tarkus and Carnival Nine are their true legacy.
- 37:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: Pink Floyd as Prague.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: I can see that.
- 37:36SPEAKER_02: I can see that too.
- 37:37SPEAKER_02: Tool.
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I can see that.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: I can't believe we forgot tool.
- 37:41SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:42SPEAKER_04: But I I consider them more metal.
- 37:44SPEAKER_04: They're they're math metal.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I guess.
- 37:47SPEAKER_04: Like uh Mud Vein and uh Slipknot.
- 37:50SPEAKER_02: Uh and the other ones we've already mentioned.
- 37:52SPEAKER_02: So the top their their top three are Rush, Yes, and King Crimson.
- 37:56SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, there you go.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: So that's on Discover Music.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: There you go, man.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: Uh or youDiscoverMusic.com.
- 38:01SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 38:02SPEAKER_02: I I guess we weren't far off.
- 38:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we were.
- 38:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we were we did pretty good, I think.
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: I think we did I we did better with that than we did with the hairband.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: I think it's probably true.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's probably true.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: Um all right, so should we play Is it mixtape time?
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: Mixtape time.
- 38:18unknown: Yay!
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: Okay, so there are three facets to this.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, three parts.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: Three parts.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: So we have to find out what our trusted judge judged last f from our last one.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 38:31SPEAKER_04: And then we have to do this week's.
- 38:33SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 38:33SPEAKER_04: And then we have to do the next week's.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: Okay, so let's let's find out what's remind us what last week's question was.
- 38:40SPEAKER_04: It was No no.
- 38:42SPEAKER_04: No, no, we gotta do the one from before that.
- 38:44SPEAKER_02: That's what I meant.
- 38:45SPEAKER_02: I meant the the the question that she judged.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 38:48SPEAKER_04: That was the uh rocket pack one.
- 38:50SPEAKER_04: Oh yes.
- 38:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: Here is what our lovely and talented judge said.
- 39:00SPEAKER_04: Okay, here's what she said.
- 39:02SPEAKER_04: Just like every other week, another week of stellar picks and definitely makes my job harder.
- 39:06SPEAKER_04: I absolutely love Danger Zone and Final Countdown.
- 39:09SPEAKER_04: Final Countdown was actually one of my favorite songs to play in Pep in Pep and Brass Band.
- 39:14SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 39:15SPEAKER_04: Each song was perfect for imagining a maiden voyage on a f on finding a jet pack.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: I went with Got to Fly from Rocky.
- 39:22SPEAKER_04: The great sense of victory and top dog really set a great theme for rocketing around.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: So can't I?
- 39:28SPEAKER_04: No, I we I I was like, yeah, we we totally get that.
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for sure.
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: So I think we would uh would accept any of them because I mean I think they're all good.
- 39:35SPEAKER_02: They're all pretty good.
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: They're all good picks.
- 39:37SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 39:37SPEAKER_02: Alright, so now we do this week's question.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: So now we do this week's question.
- 39:41SPEAKER_04: So I'll tell you what Cousin Larry said.
- 39:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'll repeat the question.
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 39:45SPEAKER_04: Uh best song for speeding down the Pacific Coast Highway at sunset.
- 39:49SPEAKER_04: Now, if you don't know where Pacific Coast Highway is, it's in California.
- 39:52SPEAKER_02: Let me ask you this.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: What happens if my pick is the same as Cousin Larry's or your pick is the same as Cousin Larry's?
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: We've never experienced that.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: We haven't.
- 40:03SPEAKER_04: So let's go.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: We're not really keeping track of who wins these things.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: No, I mean we don't have no idea.
- 40:08SPEAKER_02: It's just for fun.
- 40:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's all good time.
- 40:10SPEAKER_04: It's about the music, man.
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:11SPEAKER_04: Okay, so this is what Cousin Larry said.
- 40:14SPEAKER_04: There are so many songs that come to mind: Hotel California, California Dreaming, going to California.
- 40:19SPEAKER_04: I Can't Drive 55.
- 40:21SPEAKER_04: Ventura Highway.
- 40:22SPEAKER_04: Life is a highway, but I digress.
- 40:25SPEAKER_04: The first song I thought of was Steppenwolf, Born to Be Wild.
- 40:28SPEAKER_04: It makes me think of Easy Rider and riding and riding my motorcycle.
- 40:34SPEAKER_04: Which I sold and now regret.
- 40:36SPEAKER_04: I've got my motor running, headed out on the highway looking for adventure.
- 40:39SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: So that's because that's his pick?
- 40:42SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 40:42SPEAKER_04: Steppenwolf.
- 40:43SPEAKER_04: Born to be wild.
- 40:44SPEAKER_15: Hold on.
- 40:45SPEAKER_15: Um yeah, well, that's I mean, that's almost that's almost a no-brainer.
- 40:51SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 40:51SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 41:05SPEAKER_13: It's a photo on in the Head up on the highway.
- 41:12SPEAKER_13: Welcome for adventure.
- 41:15SPEAKER_13: And whatever comes our way.
- 41:19SPEAKER_02: I used to enjoy playing this song.
- 41:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we we used to have guitar with it.
- 41:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:24SPEAKER_02: And then I got worn out.
- 41:25SPEAKER_04: Yo.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: Because we tied this with uh we tied this together with uh the Robert Palmer song.
- 41:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: Bad Case 11, yeah.
- 41:37SPEAKER_02: What right?
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: Is that right?
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: Just gotta get to the chorus.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: That's perfect for for for cruising down the the Pacific Coast Highway.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 42:23SPEAKER_02: Alright, so that's Uncle Larry's.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: Do you want to do yours or mine?
- 42:26SPEAKER_04: Do mine.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: What's yours?
- 42:28SPEAKER_04: You're you're not you're you're not ready for this one.
- 42:30SPEAKER_04: I'm not ready for this one.
- 42:31SPEAKER_04: You're not ready for this one.
- 42:32SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 42:32SPEAKER_04: You ready?
- 42:34SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: You said I wasn't.
- 42:35SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 42:36SPEAKER_05: No, what is it?
- 42:37SPEAKER_05: Tupac! California love!
- 42:41SPEAKER_15: You're right.
- 42:41SPEAKER_15: I wasn't ready for that one.
- 42:43SPEAKER_02: Told ya! Let's see.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: I don't even think I've ever heard this song, to be honest with you.
- 42:50unknown: California.
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: Is this appropriate?
- 43:03SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 43:06SPEAKER_02: I like it though.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: I can feel it.
- 43:10SPEAKER_04: Of course, it's got Dr.
- 43:11SPEAKER_04: Dre in it too, so yeah.
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: Can't go wrong.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: I guess when it's when it comes back onto the camera.
- 44:11SPEAKER_02: That's all.
- 44:16SPEAKER_02: There it is.
- 44:19SPEAKER_02: I dig it.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: I think it's good.
- 44:21SPEAKER_02: I don't know the song, but that doesn't mean anything.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: I think it's cool.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: I think it's cool.
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: Um, okay.
- 44:26SPEAKER_02: So mine uh was actually mentioned by uh cousin Larry.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: Aha.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: Because here's one of the reasons I picked it.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: A, it's it's a great driving song.
- 44:39SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: This is I Can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar, but this was written about driving on the Pacific Coast Highway.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: Wow, there you go.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: Because he got pulled over, and this is a true story.
- 44:51SPEAKER_02: This whole this whole song is a true story.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: And he basically told the cop, I can't drive 55.
- 44:56SPEAKER_02: Are you kidding me?
- 44:57SPEAKER_02: I'm in a Ferrari, I can't drive 55.
- 44:59SPEAKER_02: And it was on the Pacific Coast Highway that it happened.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: So I'll just kind of play a little bit of the chorus of this one.
- 45:12SPEAKER_02: So, cousin Larry and I have it, you know, we have we're on the same frequency.
- 45:43SPEAKER_02: In his concerts these days, he says, it's 65.
- 45:47SPEAKER_02: I can't drive 65.
- 45:49SPEAKER_04: Actually, some places it's now 75.
- 45:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:51SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm about to say between between here and uh Bangor, it's 75.
- 45:54SPEAKER_04: It is 75 for us.
- 45:55SPEAKER_04: Sammy should come visit us.
- 45:56SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 45:57SPEAKER_05: You can drive fast, Sammy!
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: And they won't stop you if you do it in like 10 over 75.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: So he could probably do like 85 and get away with it.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: See?
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: I didn't say that out loud, did I?
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you did.
- 46:07SPEAKER_02: So anyway.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: So there you go.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: Born to be wild, Steppenwolf.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: Great choice.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: California Love, Tupac.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: And I can't drive 55, Sammy Hagar.
- 46:17SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 46:17SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 46:18SPEAKER_04: So our choices for the week.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: Again, I think she's right.
- 46:21SPEAKER_02: I think we give her tough choices every week.
- 46:23SPEAKER_04: She does well, though.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: Alright, so now we pick a new question.
- 46:26SPEAKER_03: New question! Oh, next day question!
- 46:32SPEAKER_04: Ooh!
- 46:34SPEAKER_02: I like it when you do that.
- 46:36SPEAKER_04: Best movie montage song for fixing up the community center.
- 46:41SPEAKER_04: Context 80s.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: Movie montage song.
- 46:47SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: So this is this is an 80s movie where all of the stars are getting together and fixing up the community center.
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: What song is playing?
- 46:57SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 46:59SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 47:00SPEAKER_04: Oh I guess I'm not a cut on there.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 47:03SPEAKER_02: That's an interesting one.
- 47:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I told you, right?
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: He's a good so you gotta wonder, does it have to be an 80s song?
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: Probably not.
- 47:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:14SPEAKER_02: I guess that's so fixing up the community center.
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: It's a montage of all the stars in the movie.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: Fixing it up, doing a good deed.
- 47:23SPEAKER_02: Uh what song is playing during that montage?
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: That's gonna be a tough one, I think.
- 47:32SPEAKER_03: I know, man.
- 47:34SPEAKER_02: I have an idea.
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: I have an idea.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: But yeah, okay.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Hopefully I remember it next week.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: I I don't know that it would.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: I don't know.

- 48:02SPEAKER_04: Just follow exactly.
- 48:03SPEAKER_04: You never know what's gonna happen between now and then.

- 49:45SPEAKER_02: Yes, have some.
- 49:46SPEAKER_03: Yes, have some.
- 49:47SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna read from Steve Turner.
- 49:52SPEAKER_04: Hard day's right.
- 49:53SPEAKER_02: Alright, I'm gonna take off my headphones and climb the wall.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: We are doing the song Strawberry Fields Forever.
- 49:59SPEAKER_04: It's a wonderful song.
- 50:00SPEAKER_04: Are you gonna play the song while I read?
- 50:02SPEAKER_04: I will in a second.
- 50:03SPEAKER_04: Well, I don't want you to do it.
- 50:04SPEAKER_04: Okay, anyway.
- 50:06SPEAKER_04: Whatever, man.
- 50:07SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 50:08SPEAKER_04: In the autumn of 1966, John went to Spain after accepting the part of Gripweed in Dick Lester's film How I Won the War.
- 50:16SPEAKER_04: While relaxing on the beach in Almaria, John started work on Strawberry Fields Forever, a song he imagined as a slow-talking blues number.
- 50:26SPEAKER_04: He completed it in a large house he was renting in nearby Santa Isabel.
- 50:31SPEAKER_04: It started out as a nostalgic view of the Salvation Army orphanage in Woolton, where he, Pete Shoton, and Ivan Vaughn used to play amongst the trees.
- 50:40SPEAKER_04: And ended up, like so many of John's songs, as a rumination on states of consciousness.
- 50:46SPEAKER_04: Strawberry Field, John added the S, was a large Victorian building with extensive wooded grounds in Beaconsfield Road, a five-minute walk from John's home in Men Love Avenue.
- 50:58SPEAKER_04: Since 1936, it had been a children's home with an annual fete, which is like a carnival.
- 51:05SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 51:07SPEAKER_04: Uh which Aunt Mimi regularly took him to.
- 51:10SPEAKER_04: The gothic grandeur of the building and the mystery of the woods fascinated John.
- 51:15SPEAKER_04: He recognized it as a place where he could be alone and let his imagination run free.
- 51:19SPEAKER_04: He soon discovered that there was much a much more direct route from his garden into the grounds, and it became one of his places of escape.
- 51:28SPEAKER_04: Because of these romantic associations, Strawberry Field became a symbol of his desire to be alone, of his feeling that he was somehow set apart from his contemporaries.
- 51:41SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 51:42SPEAKER_04: If Strawberry Fields Forever is a song about John seeing the world in a different way to everyone around him, the meaning is clearer in the earliest version of the lyric, where he wrote that no one is on his wavelength.
- 51:54SPEAKER_04: They're either too high or too low.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: By the time he by the time he came to record it, he had deliberately obscured this meaning, perhaps for fear of being labeled pretentious, by singing that no one was in his tree, that this was either too high or low.
- 52:11SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 52:12SPEAKER_02: So that it?
- 52:15SPEAKER_03: That's it?
- 52:16SPEAKER_02: Let me turn this up a little bit.
- 52:21SPEAKER_13: I mean it must be high alone.
- 52:26SPEAKER_13: That is a kind of a few.
- 52:34SPEAKER_02: So you said this was this was around the time of Sgt.
- 52:37SPEAKER_02: Pepper.
- 52:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:38SPEAKER_02: But it was actually found on the Magical Mystery Tour album.
- 52:41SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 52:42SPEAKER_02: Which is a movie, right?
- 52:43SPEAKER_04: Correct.
- 52:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:45SPEAKER_04: And a terrible movie at that.
- 52:47SPEAKER_02: And I remember the video for this.
- 52:48SPEAKER_02: Was that that's from the movie, right?
- 52:50SPEAKER_02: No.
- 52:50SPEAKER_02: It's not?
- 52:51SPEAKER_04: Well, I don't think so.
- 52:52SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 52:53SPEAKER_04: I've never actually watched the movie.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: I've just seen parts of it, and just what I've seen is just so bad.
- 52:57SPEAKER_02: Very drug infused or something.
- 52:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, that's what that was the whole point of it.
- 53:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:01SPEAKER_04: You know, let's let's take acid and see what happens.
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: This is what happened.
- 53:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's where I am the walrus came from and all that stuff.
- 53:09SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 53:11SPEAKER_02: Just musically, though.
- 53:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, musically, it's wonderful.
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: Unbelievable.
- 53:17SPEAKER_13: That is, I think I disagree.
- 53:20SPEAKER_02: So there you go.
- 53:21SPEAKER_02: That is our bonus Beatles bit for this episode.
- 53:25SPEAKER_02: And Strawberry Fields for Eva.
- 53:28SPEAKER_02: Alright, I have an album.
- 53:29SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 53:30SPEAKER_02: A C D from the Wall of Tunes.
- 53:32SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 53:33SPEAKER_02: So let the guessing begin.
- 53:36SPEAKER_04: Is it a band?
- 53:37SPEAKER_02: No.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: Solo.
- 53:39SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 53:40SPEAKER_04: Is it a guy or a girl?
- 53:41SPEAKER_04: It's a guy.
- 53:42SPEAKER_04: It's a goy.
- 53:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:43SPEAKER_04: Friggin' goy.
- 53:45SPEAKER_04: Um.
- 53:47SPEAKER_04: Rock guy?
- 53:48SPEAKER_04: Blues guy.
- 53:50SPEAKER_04: Pop guy.
- 53:51SPEAKER_04: Pop guy.
- 53:52SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say pop guy.
- 53:54SPEAKER_04: Pop guy.
- 53:55SPEAKER_04: Pop guy.
- 53:56SPEAKER_04: Pop guy that's a good thing.
- 53:58SPEAKER_02: Pop guy that has some rock cred.
- 54:00SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: Uh higher popularity.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: 80s.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: 80s.
- 54:09SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 54:10SPEAKER_04: John Wait.
- 54:12SPEAKER_04: Did we talk about John Wait like that?
- 54:13SPEAKER_02: We did, we did.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: Bad English.
- 54:15SPEAKER_02: Bad English, yeah.
- 54:16SPEAKER_04: Uh 80s.
- 54:18SPEAKER_04: Is he still around or he's still around.
- 54:21SPEAKER_02: I don't know that he is making uh actually I read some- Is it Howard Jones?
- 54:26SPEAKER_02: No, no, but I recently followed Howard Jones on Instagram.
- 54:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:29SPEAKER_02: Um but the the person we're talking about, I just read somewhere that they may be working on new music.
- 54:38SPEAKER_02: Which is huge, actually.
- 54:39SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 54:40SPEAKER_02: For them.
- 54:42SPEAKER_08: More hints, please.

- 55:04SPEAKER_04: You couldn't get away from Michael Bolton.
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: Like like Kenny Logan.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: No, like every song on the radio was this guy.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: Michael McDonald.
- 55:12SPEAKER_02: Because not only was he solo, but he was also in the group.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: Phil Collins.
- 55:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 55:21SPEAKER_02: Phil Collins.
- 55:22SPEAKER_02: Am I wrong though?
- 55:23SPEAKER_04: Oh no, you couldn't get away from Phil Collins.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: In the in the 80s, it was like every time you turn on the radio was Phil Collins.
- 55:28SPEAKER_04: A Phil Collins song.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:29SPEAKER_02: Uh which is not a bad thing because I think it bit him in the butt in the end.
- 55:34SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm sure he did.
- 55:35SPEAKER_02: You know, because I think he got a bad, uh, you know, not a bad I mean, if you're a Phil Collins fan, you're a Phil Collins fan.
- 55:42SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 55:43SPEAKER_02: Um, but I do think people got sick of it after a while.
- 55:46SPEAKER_02: And he had he had to go away.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Uh but he was in Genesis, obviously.
- 55:51SPEAKER_04: And he's doing, you know, you know, solo stuff all the time.
- 55:54SPEAKER_04: Duets.
- 55:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, duets.

- 56:22SPEAKER_02: We must have.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: Yep.

- 56:27SPEAKER_02: I have no idea.
- 56:28SPEAKER_02: We should be writing down the albums too.
- 56:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 56:30SPEAKER_04: That's a lot of work.
- 56:32SPEAKER_02: I just want to I just want to get to the drum.
- 56:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:35SPEAKER_04: That's the only part anybody likes about this song.
- 56:40SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 56:46SPEAKER_04: Okay, everybody, you gotta do it at home.
- 56:49SPEAKER_05: Get ready.
- 56:53SPEAKER_05: Aw, you suck! Freaking hate you.
- 56:57SPEAKER_05: You ready?
- 56:58SPEAKER_05: No!
- 57:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:03SPEAKER_04: You have to do the drumsole.

- 57:08SPEAKER_02: What is what is that movie?
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Uh they actually talked about this.
- 57:13SPEAKER_02: And Mike Tyson did the drumsole.
- 57:15SPEAKER_04: Oh, it was probably one of the hangovers.
- 57:17SPEAKER_02: Hangovers, yeah.
- 57:18SPEAKER_02: I've not even seen the movie.
- 57:19SPEAKER_02: I've never either, but I think I've seen that scene.
- 57:21SPEAKER_02: Like on the show.
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: You gotta, you got it.
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: Okay, uh, but you know, that notwithstanding.
- 57:28SPEAKER_02: Well, here's the other, there's another hit off this album.
- 57:30SPEAKER_02: This one right here.
- 57:31SPEAKER_04: Another.
- 57:32SPEAKER_02: I missed it again.
- 57:34SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 57:37SPEAKER_02: Again, a far cry from Genesis.
- 57:39SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 57:40SPEAKER_02: Um let's play a little bit more of this.
- 57:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, incredible talent.
- 58:00SPEAKER_02: Heck yeah.
- 58:01SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 58:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I like this one.
- 58:03SPEAKER_02: This is um, this is like there's like a drone sound on this one.
- 58:07SPEAKER_02: This is called The Roof is Leaking.
- 58:08SPEAKER_02: This is a very kind of I don't know, deep.
- 58:13SPEAKER_02: Have you ever heard this song?
- 58:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:15SPEAKER_04: I have the album, remember?
- 58:16SPEAKER_04: We just talked about that.
- 58:17SPEAKER_02: That's right, sorry.
- 58:18SPEAKER_02: I love this song.
- 58:20SPEAKER_02: Actually, droned was the next one.
- 58:22SPEAKER_02: This is the roof, this is the roof is leaking, that's right.
- 58:27SPEAKER_02: I thought this was a powerful, powerful song.
- 58:39SPEAKER_14: Who's small and thought my head?
- 58:41SPEAKER_04: It almost sounds like a work tape.
- 58:43SPEAKER_04: Like he's sitting in the it doesn't sound uh produced at all.
- 58:48SPEAKER_02: He's sitting in the piano.
- 58:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's painting and recording it in on a like a reel to reel.
- 58:52SPEAKER_02: And maybe he was.
- 59:12SPEAKER_04: Is that somebody in the background or an instrument?
- 59:14SPEAKER_02: That's an instrument.
- 59:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 59:15SPEAKER_02: That's an instrument.
- 59:16SPEAKER_02: Of course, there's this one.
- 59:17SPEAKER_02: This is hand in hand.
- 59:19SPEAKER_02: He liked the drum machines.
- 59:21SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 59:24SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, Jim Keltner was instrumental in helping build the first drum machine.
- 59:30SPEAKER_04: Was he?
- 59:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 59:31SPEAKER_04: He did all the he did all the beats for like an 808 or something?
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: Like I didn't know that.
- 59:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 59:39SPEAKER_02: Of course, there's speaking of the Beatles, we were talking about the Beatles.
- 59:42SPEAKER_02: He covered the Beatles on this album.
- 59:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 59:45SPEAKER_02: Um Tomorrow Never Knows, which is like It's all in C.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: I was just gonna say it's one chord, isn't it?
- 59:52SPEAKER_04: It's one chord.
- 59:53SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 59:53SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 59:58SPEAKER_04: Of course, I think he put his own spin on it.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_04: A little bit.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_02: But if I'm not mistaken, this is his first solo album, right?
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_02: Face value?
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_02: Is his first one?
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_04: It was pretty yeah, it was either the first or second one.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_04: It's hard to tell because so many of the album covers were just his face.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_02: Well, he did that on purpose.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_02: This is his first one.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_02: 1981.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_02: Hello, I must be going was his second album.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_02: No jacket required.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_02: But seriously, both sides.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_02: I have all of these albums.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_02: Dance into the light, Testify.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_02: I don't have.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_02: Going back.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_02: Serious hits live.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_02: I used to have on cassette.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm a I'm a big Phil Collins fan.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_02: I would say so, yeah.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_02: And so I did read somewhere that he was working on some new music, and and after everything that he's gone through, I was about to say he's had some really serious health issues.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_02: He really has.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_02: So um I mean, so much so that, you know, when Genesis toured, they did their, I guess, final farewell tour, um, he sat down.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he was sitting the whole time.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: I think his son was playing drums.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_02: Yep, he was.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_02: Nick Collins.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_02: Nick.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_02: He's a good drummer.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_02: He is.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_02: Uh he's with um have you ever heard that band?
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_02: Trev Lucather.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_02: He played he plays.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_02: The uh is it The Effect?
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_04: I can't remember the name.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_02: I think the Effect band or something like that.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_04: I was watching the documentary and he they were talking to him.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_04: Uh it's either Let There Be Drums or the other one that was on Netflix.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_02: They were talking to Nick.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_02: No, good uh The Effect.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_02: I think it's The Effect.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_02: Good band.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_02: Still still trying to f find their path.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, sure, yeah.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_02: You know, I mean Trev Lucither is Steve Lukather's kid, obviously.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_02: Uh and then Nick Collins, and then they got a great vocalist.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I don't know what it is.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_02: I can't remember his name.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_02: Um, and then there's a guy that was playing in Toto, um, but he and he had a his own band as well.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_02: He was playing in that band.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: Well, he just left.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_02: So I'm not sure where the what the status of the band is.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_02: They put out some pretty cool tunes.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_02: So I was I was impressed with that.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_02: But yeah, so that is the album this week, Face Value, the very first solo album from Phil Collins, and we probably have done it before, but oh well.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_02: You can never do it enough.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_02: You can never do it enough.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_04: You can never talk about Phil Collins enough.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_02: I used to have all the albums that we've done in one section, uh, but then I rearranged everything just because I wanted to mix it up.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_04: So mission accomplished.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_02: So Yeah done it.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_02: I done it.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah done.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_02: Well! Thanks.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_02: Appreciate that.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: Um, alright, so that's it.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_02: That's episode 210.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: Is that all?
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_02: There ain't no more.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_02: That's it, that's all.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_02: There ain't no more.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: Unless you want to talk about something else.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_02: I mean we can we can keep going if you want to.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: We're gonna talk about something else.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: I have nothing else, guys, bro.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_02: I don't really have anything left in my brain.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_04: My brain is empty.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_02: Um, uh oh, no, yeah, we did want to do one thing.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_02: What?
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_02: One thing before we forget.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_02: Because um I'm sure everybody and their mother, who has a podcast, is doing this as well.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_02: I want to hear a snippet of the final collaboration between Eddie and Alex Van Halen.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_02: So as you know, uh Alex has a memoir coming out this month uh next month.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's right.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_04: October 22nd, I think.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_04: I have no idea, but I was just amazed.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_04: I was just amazed that Alex can read.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_04: So I was like, wow.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_04: A drummer and a reader?
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, actually, it's on Instagram.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_02: So let me see if I can get it here on Instagram.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_04: All right, let's see.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_04: So let's see if you can do it.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_04: Brothers.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_02: Yes, brothers is the name of the book, and the song is called Unfinished.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_02: And the book does come out October 22nd.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_02: So let's get in that one.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_02: Eddie doesn't normally play acoustic guitar.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_03: No.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_02: It's gonna start over here in a second.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_02: Because I'm gonna hit play again.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_02: Unmistakable though.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, you can tell.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_04: Even even Alex has a distinctive.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_02: I guarantee I'm picking up that book.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, me too.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_02: Uh I think that song, if I'm not mistaken, that song is featured on the audio, because Alex Alex, you you are amazed that he can read.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_02: He's reading the audio audiobook.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_04: Is he a triple threat guy or what?
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_02: So uh yeah, this song is will be available alongside alongside the audiobook release.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_02: Um I would imagine you'll probably be able to get it somewhere officially again afterwards or something.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_04: What?
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_02: The song.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_02: The song.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'm sure that there's there's gonna be an album at some point.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_02: There has to be, right?
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_04: I mean there's gonna be uh, you know, unfinished works of Edward Van Halen.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_04: Well here's the thing.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_02: I didn't mean to hit that again.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_02: Yes, you did.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_02: I didn't.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_03: I gotta hear it again.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_03: How do you play an Augusty guitar?
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_02: But Wolf said if it's unreleased, there's a reason it's unreleased.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_02: Because he didn't want it put out.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_04: So But he's not with us anymore, so what are they what's he gonna do?
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_02: Well what's he gonna do?
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_02: I think but Wolf Wolfie will, you know, you know, honor his father's wish.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_02: What I see happening is What I see happening is Wolf walking Warfing w Wolf working Wolf?
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_02: Wolfie Brad like that working on his own solo album or something, and he finds a piece that his dad started and maybe Wolf finishes it.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_04: Well, I was thinking I was thinking he would just take a bunch of his dad's stuff and finish it and then put it out as this is Eddie's final work something or something like that.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_04: Yours is plausible too.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_02: Well, we don't know.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_02: I don't know that that Wolf would do that.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_04: Um You never know.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_02: You never know.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_02: That's absolutely true.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_02: But I think Wolf has a lot of integrity when he says he says that he wouldn't do that.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_02: He's a good kid.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_02: Um but if he's working on his album and he finds a song that his dad started and he finishes a song and then puts the album out and says Wolfgang Van Halen featuring Eddie Van Halen.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, and you know, I think that he could do that.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_04: Anything's possible.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_04: Anything's possible.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_02: Or Wolf Van Halen featuring Eddie and Alex because obviously I guarantee you.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_04: Everything is gonna have Alex on it.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_02: So which would still be pretty cool.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'd listen, I'd buy that album.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_02: I would too.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_02: Uh all right.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_02: Now that's episode 210.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_04: You sure?
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_04: You know, I don't know.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_04: You sure uh Jimi Hendrix didn't just put out a new song?
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_04: Hey everybody, I'm really dead.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_05: That's my new album.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_05: Sure.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_05: Maybe there's a Kurt Cobain song we haven't heard.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_04: I bet there is.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_12: I bet there is, too.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_04: There's one with him, uh uh Kurt Cobain, uh Jimi Hendrix, and Janice Joplin, and Amy Winehouse.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_04: They all put out a posthumous album and they called it, Hey, we're dead, but here's some music.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be awesome.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_04: Listen.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_04: Music from beyond the grave.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_02: And that is Amy Winehouse singing that?
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_04: Probably.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_04: You ever heard her sing?
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_02: I have.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_04: I don't know why everybody made such a big deal about her.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_04: She's not that no offense.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_04: I shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but I never thought she was that.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_02: She was not your cup of tea.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_04: I didn't think she was that great.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_04: To be honest with you.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_04: But you know, whatever.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, I'm, you know, I'm just one guy.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_04: True.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_04: My opinions have zero, zero impact on this planet.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_02: So I don't know if I'd say zero impact.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_04: Okay.0001% impact on this planet.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_04: Which means it's basically just me in my head.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_04: You know, when I'm, you know, sitting at home going, um I sock.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_04: I wish I was cooler.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_04: I wish my name was Brian.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_04: I do that every night.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_04: Right before I go to bed, I sit in my room and I go, I wish I was Brian.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_02: And that knocks you out?
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm like, he's boring, his life's boring.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_02: It was kind of funny.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_02: I went over to get Myra from JB's house, Johnny B.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_02: And because he she had a playdate with his girls.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_02: Anyway, uh come to find out.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_04: Speaking of his girls, who was which one of the girls was the one at the wedding, at Jude's wedding?
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_04: She kept coming up to me going.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_02: Which one was it?
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_02: Was it is she really short?
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_02: That would be Laura.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_02: Laura, okay.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_05: She was a little sterical.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_02: Well, so I went over to get them the other night, and they had been she had been there for like four hours, four or five hours.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_02: I can't remember how long it was, four hours maybe.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_02: Um, and she said, Can we show you our room?
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_02: I said, I guess so.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_02: And of course, John was there.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_02: He's like, Is it clean?
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_02: She's like, Yeah, it's really clean.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_02: We want to show you.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_02: So we went up, and they two of them were already in there, and they were like, No, no, we can't show them.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're gonna walk.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_02: So it was a big secretive thing.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_02: Right, sure.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_02: So I walked in and I well I saw John's face, because the room was clean.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was spick and span.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_02: But I saw John's face, and he was like, mm-hmm.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_02: So what they had done is it was a bunk bed.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_02: Well, they took the top bunk off and put it next to it, so now they have side-by-side beds.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_02: With an end table in between.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_02: Oh well, there's a trundle bed under there, so now you can't open the trundle bed because they're you know Oh, sure, yeah.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_02: But their their argument was, well, you could move the bed.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_02: When we want to use the tron trundle bed, we move the bed this way and we can just open it up, which is true.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so so they're you know explaining this to me, and John looks at me and he goes, he points to the the the top bunk that's now on the floor.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_02: And it's still got the oh the pegs.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_02: The pegs that are about that long.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_02: But really thin.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_02: Like sitting on the floor like this, right?
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_02: So if somebody jumps really hard, it's gonna go into the floor or it just busts them.
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_02: But he just kind of points to it and says, I said, yeah.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_02: Anyway, the only reason I bring this up is because uh they found it was that was the moment that they found out.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_02: We started talking about you for some reason, I can't remember what it was.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_02: But uh that was the reason uh one of them said, What is Doug's real name?
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_02: And so I told them, they're like, Really?
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah?
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_02: And then John chimes in and says, Do you know what Brian's name on the radio was?
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_02: And they're like, Brian?
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_02: I was like, No.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_02: And then Myra says, Chris O'Brien.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_02: Wait, did you name yourself after Doug?
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_02: You know, just little things like that.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_02: And I said, No, my middle name's Chris.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_02: Your middle name's Chris?
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_02: So you could call me Chris O'Brien.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_02: See what I did there?
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, yeah.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_02: But it was it was kind of funny.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_02: They were quite amazed that your name where your real name was was.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right, yeah.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_04: A lot of people are, yeah.
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_02: Because most people call you Doug, right?
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_04: Now, yeah.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_04: Well, it's very confusing for my graduating class because when I came back from the military, they were all gone, and it was just you guys that called me Doug, so you just called me Doug by everything.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_04: And then, you know, so I just started going by it, and they were for the longest time, a lot of them were like, When did you change your name to Doug?
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_04: I'm like, it didn't change it.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_04: I just that's what everybody calls me now.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_04: Where did it come from?
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_02: We've told this story.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we gotta tell it.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_04: You know, we I've told that story a hundred times in all life.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_04: I I mean, even at this year at camp, uh I one of the family groups, they they I was like, all right, guys.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_04: And uh, oh, they were playing uh two two truths and a lie.
- 1:13:57SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_04: And I was like, I got one for you.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_04: And I was like, my real name is not Doug, and I just left the room.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_04: And I could hear them all going, What?
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_04: What what is this real name?
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_04: What's because none of the staff know either.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_05: They don't know your real name.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_05: No.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_02: And I notice I haven't said it on here either, and nobody's going to know.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_02: It's a secret.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_04: It's a pay it's a state secret.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_02: I don't know what that means.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, it's like, you know, if if if we tell, SEAL Team 6 is gonna come to your house.
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_08: And take you to a dark black site and torture you.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_05: How do you know dark?
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_02: Alright, that's episode 210.
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_04: We'll leave it at that.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_04: This is this is my this is this is what's in my head.
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_04: Constantly.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_04: Just weird stuff like that.
- 1:14:58SPEAKER_02: Did I read you the text that carry on?
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_02: I read you the text that carry on.
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_02: He's like, we should oh, we should call it uh uh what did he say?
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_02: I can't remember now.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_02: Friday should be hold on.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_02: I w I wanna I don't want to misquote him because it was quite funny.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_02: Uh is it right here?
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_04: Um I wish he'd text me back now that I know there wasn't spam.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_02: I also think you should call the end of the show Deep Thoughts from Doug because dude's brain is like the wheel of fortune wheel.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_02: It's everywhere, and one never knows what he's gonna land on next.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_02: That is true.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_02: He's not wrong.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_02: He's not wrong.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_02: He he knows me well.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_02: He's been there.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_02: I wonder what episode he's on now.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_02: He's trying to catch up.
- 1:15:47SPEAKER_02: I know last time he said he was in season three.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_04: He's got a while to go.
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_02: We stopped calling them seasons a long time ago.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_04: I think what five, six after season six?
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_02: After season six, something like that.
- 1:15:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:15:59SPEAKER_02: And there were we I think we did 20 episodes per season.
- 1:16:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_02: Is that right?
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_02: 20, 21, something like that.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_02: Something like that, yeah.
- 1:16:06SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 1:16:06SPEAKER_02: We were so weird.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_04: He's got a way to go.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's he's way behind.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_04: He's got all kinds of fun stuff to come up.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_04: We've had quite a prolific uh podcast history.
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_04: I think so.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_04: You know, our catalog is pretty interesting.
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_04: I think so.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_04: I like it.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_04: Well, at least it was I mean, we're biased.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, at least it was.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_02: I think and I did say I read in, I told him, I said, I think it's gotten stale because we've gotten comfortable.
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_02: And I think we just come down here and we just do our thing.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_02: And yes, it's cool and it's entertaining, but we're not putting a lot of work into it.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_02: Uh well, it shouldn't be work.
- 1:16:43SPEAKER_02: Well, that's not what I mean.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_02: Uh I think it's so we're just recording our conversation, which is entertaining in and of itself, usually.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_02: But I think, you know, we used to we used to really kind of try and get guests on, and we used to uh I think we should.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_02: I think I think so too.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_02: I just you know, it's maybe I'm just lazy.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_04: Well just it's just getting people to, you know.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_02: Commit.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_04: That's that's the hard part.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_02: Can you do Tuesday?
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I can do Tuesday.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, something came up, man.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_02: I can't do it, you know.
- 1:17:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_02: So but we do have, I mean, if I think we just need to try a little harder.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_02: That's all.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_02: I need to try a little harder.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_04: Why well it's not on you.
- 1:17:25SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's not like Okay, get a guess then.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_04: Well then well, didn't weren't weren't we gonna have uh bouncing Bob's granddaughter on at one point?
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, I was I forgot to respond to her.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, great.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_04: Now she thinks we hate her.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_02: So uh we don't hate you! What was her name again?
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_02: Uh what was her name again?
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_02: Begins with an eye.
- 1:17:46SPEAKER_02: I know, I know that.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_02: Uh I can look it up.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was about to say.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_02: Um go to the last message she says.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_02: Well, it was uh hold on.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_02: Isabel?
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_02: No, it's I don't think it's Isabel.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_04: What was her name?
- 1:18:01SPEAKER_04: Oh my word.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_04: Uh sucks getting old.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_02: You're right.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_04: It begins with an eye.
- 1:18:06SPEAKER_02: You're right.
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_02: It does, it does begin with an eye.
- 1:18:10SPEAKER_04: If it doesn't begin with an eye, I'm gonna really feel really stupid.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_04: Well, I feel really stupid anyway, because we forget what her name is.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_04: Oh, there we go.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, Ilsa.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_02: Ilsa! Ilsa, yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, so we should tell you, Ilsa, if you're if you're still listening to us, because I hate those guys.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_02: We have not responded to you.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_02: We should tell you, Ilsa, it's completely my fault.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_02: You you emailed us on August 13th.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_04: Holy freaking crap, I was gonna wanna.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_02: And here it is September 3rd, uh, and I have not responded to you.
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_02: We suck.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you actually you sent uh a local paper article.
- 1:18:45SPEAKER_02: You sent us pictures of the last Pines concert that you went to.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_02: Oh wow.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_02: Um, and uh you wanted to be on the podcast to talk about how much you love the Pines, and Ilsa, it's nothing personal.
- 1:19:01SPEAKER_02: Uh we're just old, and I forgot to return your email.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_02: Actually, let me do this right now.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_02: Let me do it while I'm on the microphone.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_02: Uh sorry, Ilsa.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_02: We were just talking about you.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_02: Why did I do that?
- 1:19:23SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_04: What's I do?
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_02: I jumped.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_02: We would love to have you on.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_02: Let us know what Tuesday night you are.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_02: That's my bad.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_02: That's completely my bad.
- 1:20:07SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, we'll have Ilsa on.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_04: Well, that's good.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_02: Um and she seems like a sweet kid.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_02: She does seem like a sweet kid.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_02: And a big uh fan of the Pines, which we are too.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we are too.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_02: They said they had some pretty good stuff.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_02: So uh yeah, so we'll see what happens there.
- 1:20:23SPEAKER_02: Maybe we'll have a guest on the next podcast.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_02: See?
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_02: We already try a little harder.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_05: See, look look a look look what happened.
- 1:20:32SPEAKER_05: Look what happened.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_05: Look what happened.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_05: We made it.
- 1:20:37SPEAKER_02: All right, now I'm gonna end the podcast.
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_02: We're the best podcast ever.
- 1:20:41SPEAKER_02: Joe Rogan.
- 1:20:43SPEAKER_02: That should be our tagline.
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_02: What?
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_02: O'Brien and Doug, we're the best podcast ever.
- 1:20:49SPEAKER_04: You guys suck.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_04: Exclamation point.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_04: Exclamation point.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_04: They're like, no, you're not.
- 1:20:54SPEAKER_04: I mean, we're not even ranked anymore, are we?
- 1:20:56SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:20:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it doesn't send us rankings anymore.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_04: That means we're at the bottom of the pile now.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_04: They're just like, yeah, you guys don't count.
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_02: Which is okay.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_02: I don't care.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're all right with it.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we are.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_04: We're okay being.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_04: We're just we're just doing this for fun.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_04: We don't take it too seriously.
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, obviously.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_02: Obviously.
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_04: Otherwise, we would we would put more effort into it.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_04: You know, but we're not.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_04: Who are we kidding?
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 1:21:23SPEAKER_05: It's us.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_05: I'm just impressed that we keep doing it week after week.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_02: Well, it's the only time we get to see each other unless we're playing live somewhere.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_04: That's true, yeah.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_04: This is basically just uh an excuse for us to hang out.
- 1:21:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, today is our guys' night.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_11: Guys night!
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_02: Guys night, guys night, guys! It'd be different if both of us drank.
- 1:21:44SPEAKER_02: Can you imagine the podcast after drinking?
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_02: I bet it would be hilarious.
- 1:21:48SPEAKER_02: I bet it would be too.
- 1:21:49SPEAKER_04: I bet it would be so stinking funny.
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_02: No, we're not gonna try it.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_04: And then we're not gonna do it.
- 1:21:53SPEAKER_04: So don't even get that thought in your head.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_02: So we're just I think it would be funny.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_04: This is this is a family show, mostly.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_04: Mostly.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_04: The Manson family.
- 1:22:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's another thing, too.
- 1:22:05SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 1:22:05SPEAKER_02: Uh the Blanchards listen to us all the time.
- 1:22:10SPEAKER_12: That's awesome.
- 1:22:10SPEAKER_02: Because they brought it up, and I said, Oh, yeah.
- 1:22:13SPEAKER_02: So and then like because they're homeschooled.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:22:16SPEAKER_02: And so it's partly their entertainment.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's what it was.
- 1:22:19SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 1:22:19SPEAKER_02: So uh their mom is very creative in their lesson plans.
- 1:22:23SPEAKER_02: Oh sure.
- 1:22:24SPEAKER_02: So they were listening to our podcast, and that we introduced them to Stevie Ray Vaughn.
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_02: So one of their school projects was to get some info on Stevie Ray Vaughn.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_02: Isn't that cool?
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, isn't that cool?
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_05: So just had an idea.
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_05: Is there a light bulb above my head?
- 1:22:43SPEAKER_05: Yes, there is.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_04: Hey, let's do a segment where we like do like a history rock and roll history for the kids.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, let's do that.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_04: I'm game.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_04: Look at that.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_04: Look at us.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_04: We're making our podcast better already.
- 1:22:55SPEAKER_02: Maybe we could um, you know, because I don't know if you want to keep doing the Beatles book.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_04: Well, yeah, that's that's part of it, but you know, but I mean something like, you know, separate from the Beatles.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_02: We'll think of something.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll think of something.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_04: You know, something something for the girls.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_04: Something for the girls.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_04: Something for the Blanchards.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_04: The Blanchards.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_04: And anybody.
- 1:23:16SPEAKER_04: The Blanchard's uh we're gonna call it the Blanchard's uh Blanchard's history moment.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_04: No, that's terrible.
- 1:23:25SPEAKER_02: That sucks.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_02: Uh we'll think of something.
- 1:23:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we'll think of something.
- 1:23:28SPEAKER_02: But it'll be dedicated to them.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_02: Yes and all other homeschooled children who need lessons.
- 1:23:32SPEAKER_04: It's the homeschool corner.
- 1:23:35SPEAKER_02: The homeschool corner.
- 1:23:37SPEAKER_02: No, wait, wait, the the the homes, the homeschool rock and roll history corner.
- 1:23:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah, there we go.
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_04: Dedicated to all the homeschoolers.
- 1:23:46SPEAKER_04: The homeschool rock and roll history corner.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_04: That's that's our market.
- 1:23:49SPEAKER_04: Homeschool.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:23:53SPEAKER_04: Like we're a podcast dedicated to teaching homeschoolers.
- 1:23:56SPEAKER_04: But only cool homeschoolers.
- 1:23:58SPEAKER_02: Only cool ones listen to us.
- 1:24:00SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 1:24:00unknown: Yeah.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_04: Only the cool ones listen to us.
- 1:24:02SPEAKER_04: Right, exactly.
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_04: So it's those ones for you.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:24:05SPEAKER_04: I like that.
- 1:24:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there we go.
- 1:24:06SPEAKER_04: See, look, look at us.
- 1:24:08SPEAKER_04: Trying harder.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_05: Look at us.
- 1:24:10SPEAKER_05: Didn't even plan it.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_05: Didn't even have a thought of when I came here and I was going to be like, well, I'm going to do a podcast.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_05: I'm not going to do anything special.
- 1:24:21SPEAKER_04: Wrong.

- 1:24:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.

- 1:25:02SPEAKER_02: I mean it's going to be factual, but you know, just off the cuff.

- 1:26:23SPEAKER_02: I'm sure we'll hear hear about it when we get upstairs.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_04: We're scared of Doug.
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_04: He's loud and weird.
- 1:26:33SPEAKER_02: On that note, that's my podcast.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_04: Doug is loud and weird.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_02: I was just gonna say he's loud and weird.
- 1:26:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there we go.

- 1:27:33SPEAKER_09: Give up.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_09: Just quit.
- 1:27:36SPEAKER_09: Because in this life, you can't win.
- 1:27:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you can try.
- 1:27:41SPEAKER_09: But in the end, you're just gonna lose big time because the world is run by the man.
- 1:27:47SPEAKER_09: Who?
- 1:27:47SPEAKER_09: The man! Oh, you don't know the man?
- 1:27:50SPEAKER_09: Oh, he's everywhere! In the White House, down the hall, Miss Mullins, she's the man, and the man ruined the ozone, and he's burning down the Amazon, and he kidnapped shampoo and put her in a chlorine tank, okay?
- 1:28:03SPEAKER_09: And there used to be a way to stick it to the man.
- 1:28:05SPEAKER_09: It was called rock and roll.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_09: But guess what?
- 1:28:09SPEAKER_09: Oh no.
- 1:28:10SPEAKER_09: The man ruined that too with a little thing called MGV! So don't waste your time trying to make anything cool or pure or awesome, because the man's just gonna call you a fat, washed up loser and crush your soul.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_09: So do yourselves a favor and just give up!
