- 0:05Speaker 1: through the Alabama show.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I think I broke my Starbucks lady this morning.
- 0:18Speaker 3: How do you break a person well.
- 0:22Speaker 2: In sirt, Alabama? The girl.
- 0:24Speaker 4: So, I get this drink every morning. That's a nitro
- 0:28Speaker 4: cold brew with sweet cream.
- 0:29Speaker 5: Sweet cold bor Yes, cold Nitro cold.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Brew comes in a keg, so it's very fanny.
- 0:34Speaker 4: So sometimes it's very sweet and creamy if you're at
- 0:36Speaker 4: the top of the keg, and it gets a little
- 0:39Speaker 4: bitter towards the end of the keg, so sometimes I
- 0:41Speaker 4: have to ask for more sweet cream. But sometimes they
- 0:45Speaker 4: put too much and I ask for a little bit
- 0:47Speaker 4: more nitro. So the girl a few days ago goes,
- 0:50Speaker 4: would it be easier if I just major nitro cold
- 0:53Speaker 4: brew in one cup and gave you sweet cream in another,
- 0:55Speaker 4: and you mix it together?
- 0:56Speaker 2: And I went, sure, whatever makes your life easier? Did
- 1:00Speaker 2: it today?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:01Speaker 4: And I didn't like it, And I spilt the sweet
- 1:04Speaker 4: cream all over my floorboard trying to mix my drink.
- 1:06Speaker 2: And I love it. So I went back around after
- 1:09Speaker 2: going through the.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Drive through parking a handicap spot because I just spilt
- 1:14Speaker 4: sweet cream everywhere.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And I go in. I go, I hate it this way.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I spilt it everywhere.
- 1:19Speaker 4: And then I finished mixing it, and then I went,
- 1:22Speaker 4: I take a sip, and I went and I put
- 1:23Speaker 4: too much sweet cream. I need you to give me
- 1:25Speaker 4: more nitro col brew. She would not even speak to me.
- 1:28Speaker 4: The other girl had to go fix it.
- 1:31Speaker 6: How you understand why that's a miserable start to my morning.
- 1:35Speaker 5: It was a miserable start tomorrow morning.
- 1:37Speaker 2: She was fine, shit to do anything.
- 1:39Speaker 5: I was like, and I told her, I said, I
- 1:40Speaker 5: still love you.
- 1:42Speaker 2: She wouldn't speak back.
- 1:43Speaker 6: I like, I said, I understand completely if I got
- 1:46Speaker 6: to start my morning when somebody goes, I want that
- 1:49Speaker 6: extra cup, why did.
- 1:50Speaker 3: You give me the extra car.
- 1:51Speaker 4: I didn't say I wanted the extra cup. I just said,
- 1:53Speaker 4: you can do it if it makes your life easier.
- 1:56Speaker 4: But I figured out today it did not make my
- 1:58Speaker 4: life easier.
- 2:00Speaker 3: So we're changing back to original plans.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Yes, but also I do know you know how she
- 2:06Speaker 4: feels because that's what I do to you every day.

- 4:57Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know.
- 4:59Speaker 4: You Matthew McConaughey wrote a poem about Birmingham, Alabama.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Oh it was a sweet It's in.
- 5:06Speaker 4: His book called Poems and Prayers, And he went on
- 5:09Speaker 4: a podcast with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson to talk
- 5:12Speaker 4: about the book, and he started talking about when he
- 5:15Speaker 4: was in Birmingham filming a movie and how much he
- 5:18Speaker 4: fell in love with Birmingham. He said that he met
- 5:20Speaker 4: a lot of great people and he shout out our
- 5:22Speaker 4: music scene and I love him for that.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Matthew, if you're listening, move here.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 4: How awesome would it be if he started visiting Birmingham.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It'd be so cool.
- 5:30Speaker 3: How cool would it be if he became the third
- 5:32Speaker 3: chair here?
- 5:34Speaker 2: He might be the second chair here?
- 5:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Alcha Ariana Grande just Teasday secret project. She is very
- 5:42Speaker 4: excited about. This was with an interview with Variety. She
- 5:46Speaker 4: said she has something big coming. She said, I can't
- 5:48Speaker 4: say much yet, but it's something that inspires me deeply
- 5:51Speaker 4: and it contains multitudes.
- 5:53Speaker 2: All I know is there's.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Nothing coming before May. And she has told fans in
- 5:57Speaker 4: the past that she's not looking to drop new music.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Is it anytime soon? So maybe it'll be a play.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Or a new movie or show.
- 6:06Speaker 2: What if it's a book.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I don't think she's written a book yet, she's had perfume,
- 6:11Speaker 4: she's acted.
- 6:13Speaker 3: The book would be out there, but I'm not throwing
- 6:15Speaker 3: it off the table yet.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I don't know. I think it would be cool. Anyway,
- 6:18Speaker 2: we'll keep a look out.
- 6:19Speaker 4: And there's a word you didn't know you needed to
- 6:21Speaker 4: know in your life, Producer Blake.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Are you ready for the new word?
- 6:24Speaker 3: We'll see if I know it?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Chopple ganger?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that one.
- 6:28Speaker 2: What does it mean?
- 6:29Speaker 3: It's when you are a good lumberjack.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It's somebody who looks like you, but uglier.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Oh I like that. Okay, I'm the.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Chop because because gen Z has been using chopped as
- 6:42Speaker 4: a word to describe people who are unattractive, and you
- 6:45Speaker 4: mix chopped and dappleganger. Dappleganger somebody who looks just like you,
- 6:49Speaker 4: and it's choppleganger.
- 6:50Speaker 2: So I would be like, Producer Blake, your Luke Combs.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I say the same thing.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So funny.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Oh well, anyway, if somebody calls you that, it's insult,
- 7:00Speaker 4: it's not a compliment. That's three things you need to
- 7:03Speaker 4: know more at Thealabama Show, Dot com you.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Were listening to the Alabama Show.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I have another story for you from my crazy neighborhood. Okay,
- 7:14Speaker 4: by the way, thank you for listening to the Alabama Show.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'm Alabama with producer Blake.
- 7:19Speaker 3: That's me.
- 7:21Speaker 2: We're gonna call my neighborhood redneck Gridge.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Okay, redneck Cridge it is.
- 7:25Speaker 4: We're all country people with a bunch of birds. Yes
- 7:28Speaker 4: I know this, Turkey's chickens, guineas, you name it. We
- 7:30Speaker 4: got at peacocks whatever. So I'm at the house over
- 7:34Speaker 4: the weekend, uh huh, and my mail lady brings a
- 7:38Speaker 4: bunch of packages and puts them on my front porch.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Well, I am in.
- 7:44Speaker 4: The house working, so I don't go outside immediately to
- 7:47Speaker 4: get the packages. And my dogs are at the window
- 7:49Speaker 4: and she's like talking to the dogs through the window, going.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Hey, the bees bee, and they're barking, and I'm like,
- 7:58Speaker 2: I was like, I'm still not going out. I'm doing stuff.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Well, then a few minutes later there's a knock at
- 8:05Speaker 4: my door. I'm like okay, and so I don't go
- 8:08Speaker 4: out the front door. I go around the side door
- 8:10Speaker 4: so that my dogs won't run out. Yeah, and I
- 8:14Speaker 4: had let my chickens free range that day because we
- 8:18Speaker 4: had so much rain over the weekend.
- 8:20Speaker 2: That just means I let them out and walk all
- 8:22Speaker 2: over my yarn.
- 8:23Speaker 4: And I come around and the male lady sit on
- 8:27Speaker 4: the front porch and it's like an army of fifty
- 8:29Speaker 4: chickens sending.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Around her on the porch.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So she looks at me and she goes, I've never
- 8:34Speaker 2: been this close to chickens before. I don't know what
- 8:36Speaker 2: to do, and I laughed. I said, you just walk
- 8:40Speaker 2: off the porch, she goes.
- 8:41Speaker 4: I brought all the packages up and I didn't realize.
- 8:43Speaker 2: It, but they all ran up here with me and
- 8:45Speaker 2: surrounded me.
- 8:48Speaker 5: I said, that's because she's brought up.
- 8:50Speaker 3: They think you have chicken treats.
- 8:51Speaker 6: So instead of a male lady versus dog, it's a
- 8:54Speaker 6: mel lady versus fifty chickens, all of my chickens.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I had to walk her off of my front porch
- 8:59Speaker 2: and walk her.
- 8:59Speaker 3: To her car. Yeah, it seems like you might get
- 9:02Speaker 3: used to this.
- 9:03Speaker 5: I know, but I didn't realize that's a real thing.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Like there's actually people who are afraid of birds.
- 9:09Speaker 2: That's all whole fear.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Oh, there's a lot of people afraid of birds. I
- 9:12Speaker 3: didn't think your melody was.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Is a phobia or like people who there's people that
- 9:17Speaker 4: are afraid of dogs, but there's people who are afraid
- 9:19Speaker 4: of certain animals. So I want to call the show.
- 9:23Speaker 4: What's the animal that you're afraid of? Maybe it's spiders
- 9:26Speaker 4: that counts.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Snakes burn?
- 9:28Speaker 2: Oh uh, snakes freak me out. I'm burning the house down.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Call in eight three three five I one BAMA is
- 9:35Speaker 2: the number. That's eight three three five oh one two
- 9:37Speaker 2: two six two.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You're listening to the Alabama Show on demand.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Eight three three five I one BAMA is the number
- 9:44Speaker 4: to call the show. What's the weird animal or bug
- 9:48Speaker 4: that you are afraid of?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Marcy, good morning? What are you afraid of?
- 9:52Speaker 7: I'm afraid of butterflies?
- 9:54Speaker 2: What gentlest.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Animal?
- 10:01Speaker 5: Why are you afraid of that?
- 10:03Speaker 4: So?
- 10:03Speaker 5: When I was younger, they had a big butterfly tent
- 10:08Speaker 5: at the zoo back home in New.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Orleans, Okay, And I went.
- 10:12Speaker 1: In it and all of the butterflies.
- 10:15Speaker 7: Immediately came swarming to me.
- 10:18Speaker 4: And it's freaked me out so bad.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I ran out, and they followed me, telling me they
- 10:26Speaker 1: loved you.
- 10:26Speaker 2: You smelled my honey.
- 10:29Speaker 4: So I've been I've been here about it butterflies ever since.
- 10:32Speaker 2: So if you.
- 10:33Speaker 5: See a butterfly.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Now, if you're outside and a butterfly comes flying near you,
- 10:37Speaker 4: do you run from it?
- 10:38Speaker 5: I kind of debitely, like move away and try not
- 10:43Speaker 5: to cause too big of a scene unless they will
- 10:45Speaker 5: not leave me alone.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Then I'm like freaking out.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It look like a UFC fither trying to dodge the punches.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Basically, I would like to formally invite you to my
- 10:57Speaker 4: future wedding. Whenever it happens. We're gonna do a butterfly release.

- 11:48Speaker 2: ever had a snake in your house? Not in my house,
- 11:50Speaker 2: in my yard, under my deck, but none in my house,
- 11:53Speaker 2: Thanks the good Lord.
- 11:54Speaker 4: My biggest fear is I've seen so many instagrams of
- 11:56Speaker 4: people going to the bathroom and there's a snake in
- 11:58Speaker 4: the toilet, and I let it really check the toilet
- 12:01Speaker 4: every time I go to make sure there's not a snake.
- 12:03Speaker 7: Why are you telling me is now I'm afraid of

- 13:39Speaker 4: because cyber criminals hacked over seventeen million accounts.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Meta was asked about this and they were very vague
- 13:49Speaker 4: in their response and all they said was they fixed
- 13:51Speaker 4: the issue that led an external party request for passwords
- 13:55Speaker 4: and emails to people.
- 13:57Speaker 2: So they won't confirm or deny. They're just like, we
