- 0:00All the Balaji shut down, I know James Mullah Rahman Alohim
- 0:03Salaam Alaikum to live local two brothers and sisters, welcome
- 0:07back to after Maghrib and Ramadan Mubarak to you, to your
- 0:11families and your whole community.
- 0:13May Allah make this inshallah a month of blessings and baraka
- 0:17and Arafia and Tofia and all sorts of glad tidings for you
- 0:21all. Inshallah this is going to be an
- 0:23incredible month and we pray it's going to be transformative,
- 0:26not just for yourselves and ourselves, but Inshallah for the
- 0:29whole. And then Charlotte.
- 0:31So a month where we can stay united and we are closer to the
- 0:35the whole of the Imam Ajala Sharif brothers sisters after
- 0:40every year on Shahramadhan, we try our absolute best to have
- 0:44conversations which are meaningful, but at the same time
- 0:46conversations which touch on different areas.
- 0:48So of course, spiritually healing conversations,
- 0:51conversations which talk about the community affairs, but also
- 0:54conversations which have a weight going forth.
- 0:57So after the holy month, we have something to look back on,
- 1:00something to take away with us as well.
- 1:02The tragedy of Shahramadhan is not that it ends, but that we
- 1:05don't change after Shahramadhan. So as always in this podcast,
- 1:10we're going to be talking about how to make the most of this
- 1:12blessed month. We do have a special guest, but
- 1:15before we introduce him, my dearest brother said I need
- 1:17otherwise. How you doing bro?
- 1:31And Hamdulillah Ramadan Kareem, to you happy family, to your
- 1:35loved ones, and to all our listeners, wherever you are
- 1:38around the world. I'm good.
- 1:39Hamdullah, how are you? I'm good.
- 1:40I'm good. This is what, our fourth?
- 1:42Yeah. Yeah, wow, 2022232420 Wait.
- 1:49No, our first was 23. The first one, the.
- 1:51First one was 23242526. Wow, we're still here.
- 1:58We're still here. We've made it this far.
- 2:00But guys, make sure you go back and check previous years because
- 2:02the podcasts in in previous years were incredible.
- 2:05And Charlotte, this year will be just as good, if not better.
- 2:08Now for a returning time, if that makes sense.
- 2:12Does that make sense? Yeah, maybe in America it does.
- 2:15Hence why we brought our dear brother Norris.
- 2:17How do I like? How you doing?
- 2:19I'm good, Madam. Back how are you?
- 2:25I'm good. How are you?
- 2:26I'm good, man. I'm good at.
- 2:27How many have you? Yeah.
- 2:29Shot Allah and shot Allah. Three days to Ramadan.
- 2:33As a recording, yeah. My heart's trembling like
- 2:36Thunder. Nori Sardar on the mic under my
- 2:41eyes. He makes the tears go under.
- 2:48Yeah, I don't know, man. Nori.
- 2:50I'm there bro. How are you?
- 2:54How was your, how was your last Ramadan?
- 2:55That's a good, interesting question because I feel like
- 2:57over the years I look back. Why?
- 2:58Don't you? Why don't you interview us?
- 3:00Do you know what? You've been on the plot more
- 3:01than most, No, honestly, generally.
- 3:04How was last Ramadan? I feel like if I look back over
- 3:07the years of Shahramadan, I feel like there's always like a
- 3:09different taste that you kind of get every.
- 3:12I've realized with spirituality amel to ours and Quran and
- 3:15everything else, it's like everything else, you can get
- 3:17enough of it. But what I've realized in my own
- 3:19personal experience is that there's never an end to
- 3:23spirituality. Always constantly almost think
- 3:25I'm perfect. But I'm saying that when you try
- 3:26to improve yourself spiritually, you always see growth 100%.
- 3:30And, and, and one thing I love doing is that especially like I
- 3:33have this like, like I have a poem that refers to is where it
- 3:36talks about how ladle cudders almost unhinged from time.
- 3:39So every ladle Cudder, like I, it's like I can see myself in
- 3:42every other ladle Cudder from the years before.
- 3:44And it's it's crazy to see how far you've come or what, where
- 3:46life is taking you. So it's very interesting to look
- 3:49at the. Growth zone, isn't it?
- 3:50Yeah, that's it. It's.
- 3:51Interesting thing about having someone like Ramadan where you
- 3:54have to do every single year. Every year you're different and
- 3:56you're improved. So you know what?
- 3:58How was your last year? Ramadan?
- 4:00If I'm going to be honest, I feel like my last year's Shahar
- 4:04Ahmadan was not as memorable as previous years and that doesn't
- 4:08sound good. But I feel like at the same
- 4:10time, any Balakan blessings I've had in the last year has
- 4:14obviously been as a result of last year's Leya le Qadar.
- 4:17Maybe that's something which went well because you know,
- 4:20there's been things which have gone right, haven't done that,
- 4:22not everything, but we always look back and we're grateful for
- 4:25what we've achieved. Right.
- 4:26But how about you say it before? I the moment you mentioned that
- 4:30point, it just hit me straight away.
- 4:31That last I remember I had like some hijots.
- 4:37I asked a loss of Hanover Taliban.
- 4:39I really meant it and I said, you know, I didn't make a
- 4:41transaction. I was like, I'm going to do it
- 4:42regardless. But I am doing all of this.
- 4:45I buy the Inshallah the work we do is accepted the headman, the
- 4:48service look after us. Yeah, I need remember us don't,
- 4:52don't. Not that we we doubt anything,
- 4:54but we look up to you, we refer back to you, we return to you.
- 4:59There's a few things and I've handled that since that later
- 5:02better. A lot of things have changed in
- 5:03my life. But you know what, at this time
- 5:05of, of the year, so just in the last few days of Shaban, we
- 5:09start preparing, right? So our homes are being prepared.
- 5:13We're trying to prepare our schedule.
- 5:15But ultimately, more than anything, we're trying to
- 5:17prepare ourselves, our souls, We're trying to prepare our, our
- 5:21mindset for Shaban. How do you guys prepare right?
- 5:25So if I was to ask you for your checklist, right, what goes
- 5:28through your minds in these days?
- 5:29What do you do? What's your, what's your the
- 5:31kind of the steps for preparation?
- 5:32No. It's it's funny because like I
- 5:34was thinking about each Ramadan as well.
- 5:35And for me, like my last Ramadan was probably my favorite one.
- 5:39I saw a nice tweet just now, like from Sheikh Mehdi Rastani,
- 5:42who says that I was gonna. Mention that it's.
- 5:44A really nice tweet. I've always felt guilty until I
- 5:46read it. It's a really long story.
- 5:48Yeah, personal story. So basically it's something on
- 5:50the lines of like, don't feel bad if you're not super excited
- 5:53for fasting though, because it's not about having fun.
- 5:55Like you're, you're being obedient, right?
- 5:57Yeah. And for me, Ramadan, I don't say
- 5:58I was never looking forward to it, but like I've fasting is
- 6:01really difficult for me, at least the first the first week
- 6:03for me or 1st 10 weeks. Coffee addicts, that's why.
- 6:05Coffee addicts. Yeah.
- 6:06And I think just just just, I don't know what it is.
- 6:08But like, for me, it's it's it's very like I get migraines, like
- 6:10it's not easy at all. I find it difficult to work
- 6:12concentrate. I'm sure everyone has that to an
- 6:14extent too. But for me, the first week is
- 6:16always like brutal. And then, I don't know,
- 6:18something happens in the body where it kind of clicks in and
- 6:20it's kind of OK. But last year was the first year
- 6:23where I really enjoyed, not enjoy, but I really, I think I
- 6:26appreciate Shahramadhan the way I'm meant to because I was in a
- 6:29state of mind where I was obsessed with reciting duas and
- 6:31doing Aman. I think I mentioned this last
- 6:34time, like we're always told to recite certain duas, Istashir,
- 6:37Mujir, others and and we forget like these duas have very
- 6:40practical effects on you and on your life.
- 6:42Like you said, little Kada, for example, you ask for things.
- 6:45Sometimes it's Josh and Kabir, you know, I'm sure you've seen
- 6:47that, that Josh and Kabiri or they always put on the on the on
- 6:49the screen. Each verse has, for example,
- 6:51this removes this or this springs this or this, whatever,
- 6:54and you figure sometimes that might be that that verse that
- 6:56you recite from Josh and Kabir that has changed your year
- 6:59upcoming for the better in that regard.
- 7:02So Alhamdulillah, last year was really for me a month of healing
- 7:06and just kind of using the art to kind of bring myself back to
- 7:10the right state of mind, which is a place of contentment and
- 7:14being OK. Which I think it's very
- 7:16important to remember that Ramadan can be used as a time we
- 7:20all know. We all know it's already.
- 7:21But like on a deep level, like it can really reset your soul.
- 7:24It does. And your heart, you know, which
- 7:26I think is very important as well.
- 7:27It does. It humbles you as well.
- 7:28Like I remember, like in Ramadan.
- 7:30If I could say it, I wouldn't say every year, but I will.
- 7:32In particular, I remember last year, some stage during the
- 7:34months I remembered, for example, that we're not in
- 7:37control of everything. The more you read, the, the more
- 7:40you read applications, the more it reminds you that Allah, Malik
- 7:43and more because not us like we live in this small space life.
- 7:46We think we know it all. We think you know, we know
- 7:48better than everyone when it comes to weather field of work
- 7:51or what the weather is in life, right?
- 7:53But then it grounds you Ramadan like, puts you back in your
- 7:55place and says you're just a slave of Allah.
- 7:58I mean, he's in control. Not Yeah, yeah.
- 8:00That's beautiful. Yeah, 100%, yeah.
- 8:02But it's also becoming OK with it.
- 8:04Yeah, again, like we could, we can know it from a mental
- 8:06standpoint, but being OK with it deep down, like you're Allah,
- 8:08I'm really OK with whatever. You I think that's something
- 8:10that's just said I need and I today we're talking about this
- 8:13this thing like a spiritual depression.
- 8:15You know, those are the broken hearts Ninja had on my van and
- 8:20inside Joe. He's on title that.
- 8:23You know, for context, guys, Nori, every time noise come on
- 8:27the pod, we talk about so we have like a therapy session.
- 8:29Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:30So I'm denied. You've got like a healing aura.
- 8:33This is freaking. Therapeutic aura, no, but I
- 8:36think was what you both said is like kind of how we, we have to
- 8:40control, we have to, we have to get into the mentality that
- 8:44wherever we are, whatever station we're at right now this
- 8:47month is, is, is there for a reason.
- 8:49And I told I was speaking to my wife last night and, and I
- 8:53mentioned to her the same thing you mentioned.
- 8:54And Subhanallah, I saw the tweet from Shakmeti today as well.
- 8:58I told her I was like, a part of me thinks that has come at a
- 9:02time where. Don't really busy with work yeah
- 9:05like focus yeah sounds. Bad but but then I told her I
- 9:07was like, well, that's the beauty of it as well.
- 9:08At the same time, like Alas tells you put down everything
- 9:11just now, you know, your focus. Yeah.
- 9:14And Shahramalan is meant to to re gravitate us towards what
- 9:17should be consistently offers. Yeah.
- 9:18You know, Alas says in the Quran when he talks about Shahramalan,
- 9:21he says that we've made it. We've ordained it to be
- 9:24compulsory on those before you, you know.
- 9:26So uncle Boots, you know, he mentions, well, Levina
- 9:30Bismillahar Rahman on him. Well, Levina Jahil Delfina Lena
- 9:33Hadina hum Subbu Luna. And he mentions As for those
- 9:37who've struggled in our cause, we'll surely guide them along
- 9:39the way. Alas has given this this command
- 9:44of fasting because it has so many abundant merits to it.
- 9:48You know, of course we're starving the soul, but we're
- 9:50feeding the nest. We're feeding the we're starving
- 9:52the body, but we're feeding the soul, right.
- 9:53So this is kind of ultimately what we're trying to work
- 9:56towards. I think it's also very
- 9:57interesting that it's, it's compulsory.
- 9:59Like I think that's something we've reflect on a lot.
- 10:01Like there's so many, like the odds we can do.
- 10:03We have Muharram, for example, every year.
- 10:04There's a lot of things that we do that are there to kind of
- 10:06reset us. Shahramadhan is compulsory.
- 10:08It's like God's saying no, like I'm, it's not like a choice.
- 10:11Everyone has to do it. It's like this is the mandatory
- 10:14reset that everyone has to, to do to bring them to a state of
- 10:18mind where in which they are the way God wants, you know, from
- 10:21the basic things like fasting, like really helps you with
- 10:23self-control. I saw another really nice point.
- 10:26Sheikh Ali Mehdi from Australia posted this.
- 10:28I think last year it was like Sapala, like like God's showing
- 10:32you that you can miss basically one meal a day.
- 10:35You still have breakfast and you still have dinner.
- 10:37If you're in the UK drinks someone, maybe it's like maybe
- 10:40you're missing 10 meals, but generally speaking, you're
- 10:42missing, you're missing basically missing lunch, right?
- 10:44It's like you just miss one meal a day and that winds you up,
- 10:47makes you angry, makes you tired.
- 10:49You know, it's really a test sometimes for me to maintain my
- 10:53patience, to be honest with you during fasting, because
- 10:55especially the first week, because like, I'm just so hungry
- 10:58and so thirsty, you know? And it's like it, it, God's
- 11:00showing you like, he just takes something very little from your
- 11:03way that we take for granted every day.
- 11:04And you you can have the ability to lose your your composure
- 11:07completely, which is a reminder to keep your composure.
- 11:10The dependency as well. Yeah, 100.
- 11:11Percent and and to have that dependency on I'll just and
- 11:14again, like you said, it humbles you a bit, you know, like
- 11:17nothing is guaranteed to us. You know, money isn't guaranteed
- 11:19to us, health isn't guaranteed to us.
- 11:21Life isn't food isn't you know, I think that's what Shahramadhan
- 11:24kind of reminds you of, which is which is again, it's a mandatory
- 11:28reset. God expects you to do this
- 11:31because he has he needs you to be a certain way.
- 11:33And I think it's a nice way to kind of.
- 11:34Well, it's nice you say it's a reset because, you know, like
- 11:36our technology, our devices, there's always an upgrade.
- 11:39Every year there's like a IOSIOS update or something.
- 11:42And the same thing with Ramadan. Like we need that reset button
- 11:45to bring us back in line to our connection with Allah, Not just
- 11:49by the way, not just worshipping Allah, I bought in Ramadan.
- 11:51It resets everything. It resets your dynamics and the
- 11:54family. It resets how you are with
- 11:56people in the community, how that's true, how you what you do
- 11:59in the work of business, like how you operate.
- 12:01If you use it right, you become a better person.
- 12:02Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the beautiful thing you
- 12:04mentioned, Sabor patients, I'm not mistaken.
- 12:07I believe that when you're fasting, you know who your real
- 12:10self is. That's true.
- 12:11Yeah. That's scary.
- 12:12That's scary. That is right.
- 12:14Yeah, because some people get angry, some people lose
- 12:17patience, some some, some people, God forbid they start
- 12:20questioning why am I fasting? Like, well, that tells you who
- 12:23you really are and where you where you are in terms of your
- 12:26relationship. With hadith, anger doesn't
- 12:28change your minds or money or power Something doesn't.
- 12:31It reveals him. I guess anger's kind of the same
- 12:32thing and. I think at the same time, when
- 12:34you think about that, it just goes to show that because we've
- 12:36got all of these things at the tip of our fingers, food,
- 12:39technology, water. We're very lucky, man.
- 12:41We're so lucky that the slightest adjustment to our
- 12:44day-to-day routine. Yeah, like I mentioned, we're
- 12:46coffee addicts. Like there's such a small thing.
- 12:48Thousands of years of people fought fasted and we're here
- 12:52like with our frothy lattes in the morning and we have a slight
- 12:55adjustment to our routine with that.
- 12:57Everything coffee. By late for me is not.
- 12:59Is coffee's a big one? That's what I'm scared of.
- 13:01How's the other? The fire week thinking how am I
- 13:03not going to have my latte I. I, I was just speaking to
- 13:05someone now they were like, oh, have you done your like your
- 13:07reset? You know how they wind up
- 13:09coffee. I'm like, I yeah, I have a
- 13:11schedule at night between Iftar and Sohor.
- 13:14I make sure I get my caffeine intake I'm having before Sohor
- 13:17like I have to. Last year I did decaf because I
- 13:21I can't have coffee late. No, no, I, I even before I have
- 13:25a coffee. Really, I don't care.
- 13:26I'll have try, I'll have like. Black.
- 13:28So I alternate coffee after start and try before sohor but
- 13:33like it's very like I. Before support I can do, yeah,
- 13:35yeah, yeah. Try before support.
- 13:37It's, you know, there's I think at this time of year, there's a
- 13:40lot of things which we think about.
- 13:41So and Charlotte, what I want to do and I know we've prepared a
- 13:45few things, right. So I want to start by asking you
- 13:47about people who are in a place of reluctancy.
- 13:51So I spoke to, so I told telling said Ali, I was speaking to
- 13:54someone recently and he was basically saying to me that I'm
- 13:58excited for Shahramaban, but more so because of the family
- 14:01time, the community time and so on, he says, me myself, I feel
- 14:04spiritually dead. Yeah, that's deep.
- 14:07So he says, I don't feel anything spiritually right.
- 14:11So I'm I'm not connected with the things I should be connected
- 14:16with, but I'm excited for the social element of Shalom.
- 14:18I was saying, well, bro, this is like This is why it's here.
- 14:22Allah says like call on to me and I'll answer you and Subhan
- 14:26Allah when Allah says it, he says in the verse, he says and
- 14:29when they ask you, he doesn't say tell them to call on to me.
- 14:33Allah says call on to me. You know, he doesn't use an
- 14:35intermediary by saying tell them, you know, Subhan Allah or
- 14:38Jubal. But the point being is when when
- 14:41we think about what we need like I was speaking to so much about
- 14:45it about this earlier. He was like, well, maybe the
- 14:48community thing is there for bringing you back to Allah, span
- 14:52to Allah. Like you go to Moscow, see your
- 14:54friends and at the same time you're going to listen to da
- 14:56after da, you're going to read the Holy Quran.
- 14:58You're forced to be there at that time and place.
- 15:01But what advice would you give to people at this time of year
- 15:04who are struggling, who see their family and their friends
- 15:09preparations, the stories on Instagram, the houses are being
- 15:12decorated. You know, they know that they
- 15:15have to fast or they know that they're going to be surrounded
- 15:17by this. They're not kind of in momentum
- 15:20with it and they feel like they're lagging behind, but
- 15:23they're not motivated to pick up the pace and catch up.
- 15:25Do you get me? It's interesting, you know, how
- 15:28it's something compulsory. I think sometimes we're always
- 15:31chasing a feeling and we forget that sometimes just something
- 15:34needs to be done. It's like prayer, like whether
- 15:35you're feeling or you're not feeling, you have to pray.
- 15:37Doesn't matter. You know?
- 15:38There's another nice one by Sheikh Maidi Rasani who's like
- 15:41how we always say that prayer, like some people say that prayer
- 15:43always needs to feel spiritual. Like try feeling spiritual when
- 15:46you're praying on a plane or for example, like, let's say it's
- 15:49almost and you have to get out of your car and pray in the
- 15:53middle of the, the rain. You know, like, like there's
- 15:55times where prayers and spiritual we have to do it.
- 15:57So I think, I think the, the, the, the spiritual feeling or
- 16:00whatever it is we're chasing, it should always be secondary.
- 16:03You know, sometimes we can be chasing something that that that
- 16:09comes and goes to honestly, let's be honest, like there's
- 16:11times where you have that spiritual feeling and times
- 16:13where you don't, but you have to dedicate your time to listening
- 16:16to God. And I think sometimes we, we
- 16:18forget that it's not just about the spiritual feeling, but it's
- 16:20also about discipline. It's about discipline.
- 16:23A lot of the stuff that we have in Islam, it's about discipline,
- 16:25getting off the prey on time discipline, getting off a fudger
- 16:28discipline, fasting discipline. You know, Allah is trying to
- 16:31make you discipline as a person to obey a command even if you're
- 16:34not feeling it, you know, even if for example, spiritual you're
- 16:37not feeling it, you still have to do it.
- 16:38And that requires a lot of discipline.
- 16:39It's not easy, you know, and that rewires you as a person.
- 16:43So if you come after Hamadan and you might say, for example,
- 16:45yeah, you know, I didn't really feel it.
- 16:46Whatever spiritually at the very least, at least your discipline
- 16:49now at least you've discovered you're more, you're stronger
- 16:52than you think you were, right? Another great point by this was
- 16:55by Sheikh Bahmanpour said this, he was like, I think someone
- 17:00asked him what's the best amount to do only at other like what do
- 17:03you recommend? And he said people should do
- 17:05what their hearts are inclined to the most.
- 17:08So for example, let's say you're feeling to recite Quran, focus
- 17:12on Quran, you're feeling to, for example, recite this door or
- 17:15that door, do that and said or Salah do that instead.
- 17:18Or you have, for example, stories, if I'm not mistaken,
- 17:19of, of some people who who who do is like work on the Al Qaeda
- 17:23because they're more inclined to that.
- 17:25So I think, I think it's also about Shahramad has time to
- 17:29really rediscover yourself. And I was thinking about this
- 17:32all because you, you mentioned this briefly as well.
- 17:34It's about I, I've realized like the, the older I get and the
- 17:38more I change, the more I realize I've kind of stayed the
- 17:40same. It's kind of, it's kind of hard
- 17:43to describe, but it's like, like some of the things that I
- 17:45struggle with mentally now when I think back to age 17/18/19,
- 17:49like I was really struggling the same things then, you know, and
- 17:53it makes you think like, for example, let's say you have
- 17:54someone who's very anxious. That person is always going to
- 17:56be anxious. It's it's about how he deals
- 17:59with with anxiety. Someone who's angry, he's always
- 18:01going to be angry, but he deals with his anginity restrains it.
- 18:04I think I feel like all of us have our, have our have the way
- 18:06we, we, we, we are when we were born.
- 18:08And you'll notice when you have kids, you'll see, for example,
- 18:09like they have different characters and you haven't
- 18:11taught them things, but they're just different ways, even that
- 18:14if they have the same upbringing.
- 18:15So I think each of us has a Neffs, Each of us has a
- 18:18personality. Each of us has a way about us.
- 18:21And I think it's really not about losing ourselves, but
- 18:24rediscovering ourselves. That means it's like trying to
- 18:28find the purest version of yourself.
- 18:30So if your person has a lot of anxiety, you know, you just
- 18:33become a bit more, you still have that anxiety there.
- 18:34It's not going to go away, you know, but you've just more
- 18:36control. You've found a way to deal with
- 18:38it. You're angry, you've found a way
- 18:39to deal with that anger. You're having this issue or that
- 18:41issue or you're away in a certain way.
- 18:43You use you, you use Shahramadhaan and the AML that
- 18:46you that you do and, and the fasting to kind of push you in
- 18:49the right direction to become the best version of yourself or
- 18:51the best person, but the best version of yourself because of
- 18:54those are different. I think that's a very
- 18:55interesting way to think about how Shah Ramadan rewires us, and
- 18:59that's also going back to the point of why it's compulsory for
- 19:02us. You know, it's compulsory to
- 19:04make sure that we all do it the right way.
- 19:06That's that's the very, very beautiful.
- 19:08I think what you've said Noori is so beautiful and you've
- 19:11presented it so eloquently. And I think for those who are
- 19:13struggling at home listening to this, where you find yourself
- 19:17starting here now at the beginning of Shah Ramadan, I
- 19:19think it really defines where he will be not just during the
- 19:22month, but after either throughout the entire year.
- 19:25And I think it's very important we recalibrate ourselves and
- 19:28understand the whole, the whole process on the whole reasoning
- 19:30behind fasting. Because for many people fasting
- 19:35is just about abstaining and refraining from eating and
- 19:38drinking. They forget that when it comes
- 19:39to some, it's not just the food or the drink.
- 19:43It's not the soul fast the tongue, fast your eyes, fast
- 19:48every limb you have also fast along with you.
- 19:51And that's nothing I don't think we understand.
- 19:54And sadly, I would say if I look around in the world today, even
- 19:59online, just open up social media when we talk about soul
- 20:01and fasting, everything is about food.
- 20:04There's nothing about spirituality.
- 20:06There is nothing not that is wrong.
- 20:08Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have good of fun and whatnot,
- 20:10but then we forget the point. The whole essence of what storm
- 20:12is. And if someone asked me today,
- 20:14why are you fasting? Or even bro, if I go back to
- 20:17primary school, secondary school even what the institution
- 20:20religious education? You give charity, you don't eat
- 20:25and drink during daylight hours. That was like the explanation
- 20:27everyone has given. But what is it?
- 20:30What is this whole? What a song.
- 20:32I mean, even then, even the give charity element is not something
- 20:35that I think is as widely taught as opposed to fasting.
- 20:38And like we said with Shamali last week, I don't know if you
- 20:41had the podcast Nori, but we, we talked about how fasting or the
- 20:46definitions or the descriptions of Shahramaban can be seen as
- 20:49superficial or maybe, let's say, more apparent and less apparent
- 20:52or to to the non-muslim I reasons.
- 20:55The first being, for example, the abstination of from food and
- 20:58drink. And the second being, you know,
- 21:00the, the restraining, the self-control and the discipline.
- 21:02And the third then being, you know, the taqwa that you're
- 21:06trying to gain. Allah tells us that you're
- 21:08trying to gain because ultimately that's what
- 21:10Shahramaban is. That is the fastest, the fast of
- 21:12the soul and the fast of the body, you know, and all of the
- 21:15limbs and on all of our, all of our beings, that the, the
- 21:20determination that you gain from Shahar al Malvan, from the fast
- 21:24is meant to transform you. You know, it's meant to be
- 21:26something which like you guys have said, very ethical.
- 21:28I don't need to repeat to reset you and to set you on a
- 21:31trajectory for further growth. I was reading today, do I see
- 21:36for sajadiya #44. This is what Imam Sajad Al Islam
- 21:40says to recite in preparation and to welcome the month of
- 21:43Shahar al Malvan. Just the first excerpt, like
- 21:46from the first paragraph of the DA, the Imam Ali Islam says.
- 21:50And praise belongs to our last panel, to Allah, who appointed
- 21:52among those roads his month, the month of Ramadan, the month of
- 21:56fasting, the month of submission, the month of purity,
- 22:00the month, the month of putting to the test, the month of
- 22:04standing in prayer, in which the Quran was sent down as a
- 22:07guidance to the people. And there's clear signs of the
- 22:09guidance and the separator. He clarified its excellence over
- 22:13other months. This month is about complete
- 22:16submission, you know, and I think that's something so
- 22:19beautiful how it's, you know, it's, it's, it's a relationship
- 22:23between mankind, the word of God through the Holy Quran.
- 22:27The representatives of a last month are all on earth, the
- 22:30island Beta Liam Salam, two vehicles that take us back to
- 22:33Las Palota Allah and we see them both in the holy month.
- 22:36You know how the Quran and the Alan debate, they never separate
- 22:39like the Holy Prophet promised us and that in this month they
- 22:42we use them as vessels to find the last one to Allah.
- 22:45So I think it's such, so beautifully crafted when you
- 22:48think about the chronology of the dates, Shahram Avan, how
- 22:51it's so intertwined, say the Khadija and Muhammad Hassan and
- 22:54Miramat mini. All of these dates are so
- 22:56beautifully curated for us and how the Holy Quran is given that
- 23:01precedence and prominence and the last few days such that our
- 23:05primary focus is not just awareness and information of the
- 23:09Quran, but recognition of the Quran.
- 23:11I saw somewhere on social media today, I'm not going to say
- 23:14where, but I saw somewhere on social media which was basically
- 23:16like, yeah, you know what we should do with the Quran?
- 23:19We should open it up and just check it out for inspiration.
- 23:23I was like, come on, man. Like the Quran is meant to be
- 23:25more than that. It's not it's not meant to be
- 23:27like a reference book kind of, if you see what I mean.
- 23:30Of course it's got to be more than that.
- 23:31It. Is more than that even like when
- 23:32it comes to the Quran now it's the month of Ramadan.
- 23:34I think many of us, the majority of us Insha'allah will be at
- 23:37least reading if not one, just one page a day at least when it
- 23:40comes to the holy book. But understand that when we
- 23:42recite the Quran as Allah as they were just speaking to us
- 23:46and if we see it from that lens, bro, everything can change.
- 23:50Everything you read about on the Quran, especially if you
- 23:53understand the tafsir, that. But even if you have to read the
- 23:55translation, read the translation.
- 23:57You understand Arabic, read it 100%.
- 23:59Read the right ones, the ones that are in line with the
- 24:01method. But not just the translation
- 24:03like read read read the tafasir like the top wheel of the Quran.
- 24:06There's so many a hadith about specific verses of the Quran.
- 24:10The reflection on a couple of ayat is far more beneficial
- 24:14obviously speaking than just reading like parrots pages after
- 24:18page. I remember Shahram Mulan when I
- 24:19was like 1314. I was determined.
- 24:22I wanted to finish on that month.
- 24:24I was determined, bro, you know what I did the last really bad
- 24:27last like a day or two of the month.
- 24:30I don't think I've told my my my parents, but they'll probably.
- 24:33Find out they're. Going to find out.
- 24:34No, you know what I did? Nah.
- 24:35I I went on YouTube. I played it on like times 3
- 24:39speed. I was reading it a lot.
- 24:42I was like, I have to finish it. I went downstairs.
- 24:44I was like I finished. I finished the Quran.
- 24:47What's the point now, looking back?
- 24:48And obviously my intentions were pure.
- 24:50I wanted to finish the Quran. It was a milestone achievement
- 24:52for me, you know. But at the same time, you gain
- 24:55these things with knowledge and experience.
- 24:57You recognise that sometimes a verse or an ayah or even the
- 25:00word, a descriptive word, alas, Bundallah uses in itself is
- 25:06introspective for us, like we might take something from that.
- 25:08Do you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 25:09Yeah, yeah. Can I add one more thing about
- 25:11the Quran, by the way, is that and that this was something we
- 25:14were Sheikh Hayoub was mentioning the other day.
- 25:17There was like a panel where we had was by the organization with
- 25:23our own Shahzad and he was emphasizing on the Quran,
- 25:26especially a Shia, why we should never, never, ever separate from
- 25:30this. Firstly, it was about the hadith
- 25:32he referenced earlier about the faqalain, which are the two
- 25:34things, but something he added onto it was that the Quran, A
- 25:39Shia, if we read like we say, you know, we look up to Emir
- 25:41Aboumeen, Ali Salaam, what was his final words to Al Hassan and
- 25:45Hussein And when he was speaking to them, that means he's
- 25:47speaking to us, Allah, Allah, Al Quran, don't let anyone
- 25:50supersede you when it comes to the Quran, right?
- 25:53This is something we don't think about.
- 25:55And you spoke about reflection, everything.
- 25:57It was very simple. Open up one verse, Wallah, one
- 26:00verse, just one verse and do the double reflect.
- 26:06That's what it takes, an hour of reflection.
- 26:08Raswal Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam says it's greater than
- 26:1170 years of worship. Can you imagine you spend 70
- 26:14years worshipping, 70 years fasting, 70 years praying, and
- 26:18you don't know what you're doing, but you reflect for an
- 26:20hour. You've done Ibadi for 70 years
- 26:23in the eyes of Allah is that simple.
- 26:25Islam is not hard. We make it.
- 26:27We make. I think also I mentioned this
- 26:29last, last time I was here, but like having a routine with the
- 26:31Quran and reciting it is, is, is so important because I again,
- 26:35like, I feel like a lot of us, we have like we wound up, we're
- 26:39lonely, like we're longing a lot.
- 26:41And, and the Quran, in my experience, always kind of cures
- 26:44that. It's healing.
- 26:45It's, it's very healing. Like it's healing in ways you
- 26:48don't kind of expect, you know, like, like I, I, I can, I, I see
- 26:51a difference in myself if I sit down really slowly.
- 26:53I've seen, for example, it's kind of weird.
- 26:54Like maybe immediately you won't feel it, but like an hour to
- 26:57later you can just. Like a hazard effect, you know
- 26:59you have that effect. Where you're very calm and I
- 27:02think that imagine, for example, you, you tell yourself, for
- 27:05example, that every morning and night you're going to dedicate
- 27:08yourself to reciting some sort of Quran.
- 27:10Have that, for example, routine with you.
- 27:13I think it's very important because you kind of like
- 27:15shielding yourself against, you know, God forbid you head
- 27:18outside the house and you get into a car crash or something
- 27:21else or you do some money or something that will usually wind
- 27:23you up. You're ready to go.
- 27:24Like you're armored, you're good.
- 27:26You're not in a position where you're so weak, weak hearted
- 27:29and, and, and and and weak, weak willed where anything outside is
- 27:33going to affect you. I think that is is is really
- 27:36important. And we have, for example,
- 27:37narration that tells us, for example, that we should recycle
- 27:39on, if I'm not mistaken, staying down during the day, but
- 27:42standing up during the night. And I think that's important
- 27:46reminder that Allah wants us to recycle on not just at night.
- 27:50Some of the reason they're short to walk up for the sleep to
- 27:52Razak. There's other ammo you can do so
- 27:54you are seeing now and then. But imagine for example, you
- 27:57pick a pick a few Suras every night before you see Surat at
- 28:00the Cartha, for example. It's very good for moving away
- 28:03the the pangs of the of the grave when you die.
- 28:07So again, I've mentioned this before, but like, yeah, first of
- 28:11all, like, like, like look at the Suras that might benefit you
- 28:13or that might benefit, you know, help you as you, as you yourself
- 28:17as a person and dedicate some time to reciting those surahs,
- 28:22you know, everyone. Becomes so personal as well,
- 28:24like a relationship with. Surah Surah for example shems is
- 28:29I forgot what's good for but there was 1 Surah Surah.
- 28:32Nazi art makes you very for example or never One of the two
- 28:35makes you very for example happy as a person.
- 28:38You know there's other surahs as well.
- 28:40Surah fajar for example. I've read the BZ close that mind
- 28:42saying. What would be your favorite
- 28:44Surah? What would you say?
- 28:47I have AI have a routine of a few that I I do.
- 28:53I'll share it with you. Those are medefil riyama shemps.
- 28:59Occasionally you are seen in Jin as well.
- 29:02Yeah. And also Fudger.
- 29:05Fudger. So.
- 29:06So Fudger. Yeah, I've read it.
- 29:09Connection to what I'm saying. I'm not the no, there's this.
- 29:11But I can feel it personally. Like when I when I recite it, I
- 29:14feel that. What I mean in strength.
- 29:15And connection to what I'm saying.
- 29:17As in it mentions. You I can see the parallels
- 29:20poetically. I can see the parallels with
- 29:21everything, yeah. Well, and also.
- 29:23There's there's a few. And and it talks specifically
- 29:28about elements which you think this is directly for a moment.
- 29:33There's hadith about sort. Of there's a few in the 3rd and
- 29:36I sort of know for example is good for Hajjat, I think it's
- 29:39good for Isaac. Yes.
- 29:40There's a few. You mentioned waka as well.
- 29:42Obviously there's there's there's saunas which are highly
- 29:45recommended during Shahramahan, we know.
- 29:47So it's an uncle to reference that.
- 29:49Yeah. So it's Rome, all of the obvious
- 29:51ones, and obviously sort of without, you know.
- 29:54There's goes without saying. Yeah, it goes without saying.
- 29:57There's a whole thing there's I read somewhere, I don't know if
- 30:00this is, you know, I'll have to Fact Check this about reading
- 30:03sort of other 1000 times throughout the month and that
- 30:06there's macam that comes with it, for example.
- 30:09So like it should be something consistently on our tongues.
- 30:11I don't know if you guys do the same, but as the shout out
- 30:13Maman, that's the only sort of I'm doing five times a day.
- 30:15You know, what I'm saying is we have, we have a sea of amel that
- 30:19I didn't even like know about. You know, I always go on
- 30:22Instagram as a chef and every day you post an amel.
- 30:24There's so many beautiful amel that that that we have in our
- 30:27religion. For example, there's there's one
- 30:29the last few days of of Shaban. I'll send you it.
- 30:32It's Sura. It's just completely blank.
- 30:37It's Surat one of the sura. Sorry.
- 30:40It's like 11 times you recite the Sura and then, for example,
- 30:42you get your TSP and you recite one thing 100 times, another 100
- 30:45times. And it's meant for Hajat.
- 30:47So the point being, there's a lot of ammo that we can do and I
- 30:50think it can kind of become like a fun, no, not game, but like
- 30:53you can like do some research, look at some ammel that that you
- 30:56know might benefit you and dedicate each day in
- 30:59Shahramadhan to doing it. And even just having that
- 31:01routine. For example, waking up in the
- 31:03morning, reciting, for example, do Ahat in the morning, Sabah,
- 31:07find the time to recite Istashir, for example, Mujir.
- 31:10And these Doas, as you know, when you do them, they have a
- 31:13very positive impact to me. But when you do it every day,
- 31:16I've seen first hand like the rewiring it does of your of you
- 31:20just rewires you and dedicating an hour a day, half an hour in
- 31:24the morning, half an hour at night to to, you know, certain
- 31:27do ours. I really think it's it's very
- 31:28beneficial. Sabah had really recommend those
- 31:31wonders And yes, this year, which I recommended last time as
- 31:34well. And in that way, you can kind of
- 31:36make sure I'm a lot kind of fun. You know, you have your own kind
- 31:38of routine, that which you've heard for yourself, you know
- 31:41which you do everyday. You know, the sewers that you
- 31:43like, the the odds that you like.
- 31:44You want to get close to Momenti, for example, you can
- 31:46start with saying, duh, I had and forage and a few others and
- 31:50and and and really make your own routine.
- 31:52Make Shahramadhan your own kind of maybe which is there is
- 31:55anything you know. There's a concoction of other
- 31:57area which like highly like you mentioned Duhamajir.
- 32:00Duhamajir for me was nostalgic from my childhood.
- 32:03Shahram Madan Duhamajir, for example, or for example, do I
- 32:06used to share. I've told you about the yeah,
- 32:09like bro, I love the podcast by the end, like just the
- 32:17introduction of the Doha is beautiful and like there's some
- 32:21there's a lot of personal like what's the word gems that you
- 32:25can. Get so many gems.
- 32:26There's so many. What I.
- 32:28Mean to say is like, bro, there's things which Allah has
- 32:31created this religion for everyone.
- 32:33Yeah, but you will feel like he's created it for you.
- 32:37The verses you read, the relationship you build.
- 32:39Like for example, you might pick a a Saura and you're like this
- 32:43Saura, I'm going to research it. Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:48You look into it, you understand that there's origin to it.
- 32:50Is it Mecca and the medallion, for example, You understand the
- 32:53context is revealed. You look at a hadith from the
- 32:56idle debate, Alehem Saddam about the the ammal of that solar, the
- 33:00merits of that solar ayat in the in the solar and then
- 33:04specifically more so then you begin reciting it.
- 33:07You hear beautiful recitations of it.
- 33:09There are verses which stand out tune like today I called up said
- 33:12Ali and I'm as far as I called on on the phone.
- 33:15Do you remember? You know it's beautiful because
- 33:23you start to build a connection with the versus, But this is
- 33:25what the holy month is. About again, I think like each
- 33:27of us has our own issues. Each of us has our own.
- 33:30It's not issues, things we need to work on or for example, radar
- 33:32character that we need to work on, even though things we need
- 33:35to work on, just ways we can improve.
- 33:37You know, if you think about what kind of person you want to
- 33:39be after Shahramadha. So what is the ideal person you
- 33:41want to be after Shahramadha? How do you get there?
- 33:43Find the Ahmad that puts you toward that makes you more
- 33:47hardworking or makes you more this or makes you more patient
- 33:49or, you know, whatever it is, makes you less angry.
- 33:51It's good for whatever it is you need, whatever it is you want,
- 33:54whatever it is you want to become.
- 33:56You can really tailor your own animal kind of schedule to to
- 34:01help you and benefit you. And I think again, for me, maybe
- 34:04it's just me that's kind of like the fun part of of all this is
- 34:07like, like just, you know, finding all these little gems
- 34:09and just using it to your own benefit.
- 34:11No, no, that's very nice. And you say it's fun, It's fun,
- 34:13yeah. Yeah, because.
- 34:14So this is the thing like you mentioned that, that that
- 34:17brother who, for example, can't find the, the, the spirituality
- 34:20and Shahramadam, when he sees everyone around him doing the
- 34:23same thing, you know, not it sounds weird to say not everyone
- 34:26is down for those, you know, bring the IT sounds horrible.
- 34:28It says, but not everyone's down for those, you know, standard
- 34:29classical, you know, Ramadan vibes that we, you know, hang up
- 34:33decorations, stuff like that. We'll cut this.
- 34:34Oh, make sure is. This is the viral cup you're
- 34:38going to put. She's going to get a lot of
- 34:39comments again. No, you're right.
- 34:42Like, not everyone's up for the cliches.
- 34:44No point being is that everyone's different.
- 34:45Of course, some people are more reserved, some people are more,
- 34:48you know, introverted. You know, some people, for
- 34:50example, they they like to sit home and read out.
- 34:52Some people are very extroverted.
- 34:53They want to go out and be in the mosque every day and speak
- 34:55to people. And maybe that's your Ahmed.
- 34:56Maybe that's your Ahmed is to take the family to the mosque
- 34:58every day to to Sam or wherever and just have a lot of
- 35:00conversations and have a try outside, you know, like.
- 35:03Everyone's like you miss. Everyone's different.
- 35:05Yeah, I do. Everyone's different.
- 35:07And and I think, I think maybe his, his disenfranchisement is,
- 35:12is not so much to do with the Amin itself, but for example
- 35:15with following the schedule. That, you know, it's a guilt.
- 35:18So people who, for example, have used the 11 months outside of
- 35:21Shahad Al Mahvan or they've been slipping, for example, people
- 35:24have struggled, right. So you go through trauma like
- 35:26this particular individual I know struggled in their personal
- 35:29lives. So, and I think as you know,
- 35:31they have might have self esteem issues or they, they, they've
- 35:35something's happened to them or their family and as a result,
- 35:38everything slips. Their performance at work, their
- 35:40performance at home, their performance with their family,
- 35:42all of these things ultimately then they look at themselves in
- 35:45a negative light. They're saying, what am I worth?
- 35:47For example, Shadow Milan is for everyone like and like you said,
- 35:51like wherever you are, it's it's there for you and you can use it
- 35:55for you or. Sharon.
- 35:56Milan. Sorry.
- 35:57Go on. I want to give a special shout
- 35:59out to the rebirths in Sharon, Milan.
- 36:00Yeah, because I've heard stories.
- 36:02I've I've met. People and they motivate me.
- 36:05I feel sorry for for those rebirths, especially those
- 36:07who've been authorized from family.
- 36:08Yeah, Ramadan by themselves. Nori, I was going to ask you
- 36:12because. Some of the mosques and stuff
- 36:13like that, maybe not in the work me for example, when I have a
- 36:15community near them and they just feel very lonely,
- 36:18especially when they're new rebirths, I really feel for
- 36:20them. I out my heart breaks for them
- 36:22and. I was going to ask you, Nori,
- 36:24because we had. That's not easy for everyone.
- 36:26Someone said, yeah, this is what I was going to say.
- 36:29So in preparation to the podcast, we put out some stories
- 36:32and we had a bunch of responses and one of the we asked like,
- 36:36what do you want to hear about from Shah al Mahdan?
- 36:39And someone says something for Shia rivets coming from Sunni
- 36:42families, dealing with backlash, etcetera.
- 36:45As a Shia rive came from the Sunni family, how would you
- 36:48respond to that? The thing is, I'm not the best
- 36:50person to ask. Your experience is a bit.
- 36:52Different, I wasn't like like when I'm Hamdul, I was very
- 36:56lucky, but again, like I've met Rebus who are literally like
- 36:59ostracized from their family, for example, don't live near a
- 37:01community, you know, and for those people, I honestly don't
- 37:04know what that what the the solution is.
- 37:06You know, I don't. I remember one of our friends
- 37:08used to have AI, used to get invited to this iftar every
- 37:11every year. I just look around and say he's
- 37:13certainly like everyone hears A revert.
- 37:14And I realise like it's like a pity of these guys.
- 37:16He doesn't get my let's bring them all in.
- 37:19The kind of stuff is fearful though.
- 37:21It is beautiful coming together. Stuff is nice.
- 37:22I think. I think that the onus, the onus
- 37:24is on us, yeah. So.
- 37:26To look for those in our community who might be lonely,
- 37:30who might not have family. Maybe they're studying abroad,
- 37:33maybe for example, their divorce was separated or for example,
- 37:35their new reverts and haven't got people around them or
- 37:37struggling. Yeah, or, or struggling like a
- 37:39lot of people are struggling. Bro.
- 37:41This is this is the one thing I've realized about life.
- 37:42Everyone's struggling. Yeah, once you move to someone's
- 37:45house, you see their problems, and some people have some
- 37:47serious problems and struggles that they're going through.
- 37:50And God bless everyone. And I think that's also why it's
- 37:52important for us to always pray for others as well.
- 37:55I think that's very important. It's a beautiful, beautiful
- 37:57story I want to share with you that really changed my
- 38:00perspective on the power of the art.
- 38:02It took place during the time of Imam Hadi al Islam.
- 38:06There was a man I his name has completely escaped me, but he
- 38:09was going toward Mutuaku because he had some like he wanted to
- 38:13request some rights or something from the caliph.
- 38:15And he says, as I was going toward the the palace, I saw a
- 38:18man coming from the distance and he's like, I didn't know who
- 38:21this man was, but I instantly fell in love with him.
- 38:24I had no idea who he was. And I saw they'll take him to be
- 38:26executed. This man was Imam Hadi al Islam
- 38:30and he says not even with my hands, not even my speech in my
- 38:33heart I said Allah, Huma, it's for Anhu Qatar.
- 38:37Yeah, he just Allah just please stop his execution.
- 38:40And as I said that, Imam walked past me and Imam looked at me
- 38:44and he said, oh man. He said my name.
- 38:45He goes, Allah has answered your door and he has increased your
- 38:49Rizik and he has increased your children and everything else,
- 38:52right. And then Imam was suddenly his
- 38:55execution was obviously cancelled and he was, he was
- 38:58killed like I think, but I believed years later, but the
- 39:01speaker who was mentioning this was like, like, that's the power
- 39:03of the AH just for like especially the AH for someone
- 39:05else. We forget how much of the Ah's
- 39:07help other people. And you know, what's crazy is
- 39:11that he made his, he made this point, which, which like gets me
- 39:14every day I think about it, He's like, imagine if this one random
- 39:19person's dua delayed Imam Hai's execution.
- 39:24It could be a random person, a random woman in the shrine, a
- 39:28random old chef, like a like a Arab, for example, or whoever
- 39:32else going to the shrine, those people they see in the shrine.
- 39:35It could be someone's heartfelt dua that might bring forward the
- 39:37Imam's return by a few years or decades or even centuries.
- 39:41You know, point being is, and it goes.
- 39:43Imagine, for example, let's say you make that dua and your dua's
- 39:45answer, Imagine how many people you've saved in that period of
- 39:47time because you bought the Imam's return forward.
- 39:51Point being, Adua can help so many people.
- 39:53So I think also when it in addition to also helping people,
- 39:57you know, with our actions and with our, you know, inviting
- 40:00them over and being present for them and being very merciful.
- 40:02I think that's also very important.
- 40:04Spend some time when you're at home just praying for other
- 40:08people, people that you know, your friends, you know, people
- 40:10that you've met. I think it's, it's very
- 40:13important and just, and just make a generic dua for them all.
- 40:15Remove the tribulations. Answer the Hawaj and think of
- 40:18their sense very simple and and you will also be rewarded for
- 40:22that DAW. And I think an extended part of
- 40:25that, just to kind of round this point up is like, and I say this
- 40:28to myself first, I think it's very important that we as people
- 40:31are also, we can think about those actions about giving
- 40:35charity, for example, or inviting people to a house,
- 40:36whatever. But I think just be must for
- 40:38people that you meet, be very generous with your attention and
- 40:41your energy to everyone that you meet random people, Be intrigued
- 40:44by people. You have no idea how much it
- 40:45means to to to people sometimes just to be intrigued by them.
- 40:48Hey, so how are you doing, bro? Oh, what are you doing now?
- 40:50Oh, that's amazing. Like what, what are you working?
- 40:52Just that that kind of stuff for some people, you have no idea
- 40:55how much it means. You know, I remember one time I
- 40:56was, I was, I was, I was in New York and I was like, this is
- 40:59like years ago. I was wound up as usual, as you
- 41:02know, me, I had some work going on and I was, I wasn't wound up.
- 41:05I was thinking about something and just some random person came
- 41:07up and he goes, are you OK? I'm like, yeah, I'm fine.
- 41:09Like just smile, it's OK. And they walked through.
- 41:12I was like, that's such a nice thing to say.
- 41:13Like it's, it's strange. It's strange.
- 41:15It's a random person. That's what.
- 41:16I knew it's. Just it's like it just made me
- 41:19feel good. It's like wow.
- 41:19Like it's, I know it's very simple, but imagine doing that
- 41:22at the mosque with. People that you know,
- 41:24compassion, right? Compassion.
- 41:25But we think about compassion in terms of, you know, like acts of
- 41:29service sometimes, sometimes no. Your attention, considerate,
- 41:32just your attention and your intrigue.
- 41:33I think that's very important. You know, your engagement show
- 41:35that you, you, Yeah, you know. How we talk about how, how the
- 41:38prophet obviously was the pinnacle of mercy.
- 41:39A lot of that mercy was also in his attention to people.
- 41:42Yeah, he gave everyone the the Jew and he gave, he gave them
- 41:45the his love in his heart. So I think that's very
- 41:48important. I think that's something I tell
- 41:49myself as well, to be generous with your attention and your
- 41:51energy and your love to everyone you meet and just value them.
- 41:55Be good vibes man. No, that's be good vibes.
- 41:57Yeah, be good vibes. And jar from Madar and all about
- 42:01that. Remembering the others before we
- 42:03remembering. Again, ourself.
- 42:04So we hear this a lot. You're guilty of this, so we
- 42:06implement it. But do we invent it?
- 42:08We hear the story. Yeah.
- 42:08Yeah. Oh, she she prays 5 hours a day.
- 42:10Yeah. OK.
- 42:11If we hear it others, we don't actually do it ourselves.
- 42:13Like you like you're saying a judge from Madar, Like what?
- 42:16What say the Fatima Islam did she actually thought about
- 42:20people every night and we try and do the same thing.
- 42:23For example, we make a routine with like with all our wield
- 42:25mush Allah Hamdullah have young kids, right.
- 42:27I'm sure we did some something routine with our kids.
- 42:30We we I don't know, but I'm sure you guys do with my older
- 42:33brothers. But with my kids, for example,
- 42:35we do a nightly dog. We pray for people around us,
- 42:37pray for the Imam, pray for this, pray for that.
- 42:39Do you know what I mean? Just implementation of that as a
- 42:42routine. You know, we're saying that
- 42:44shadow Mahmans about routine. Once you make that regiment,
- 42:46then you know it's. Become a habit finally speaking
- 42:49about kids and you're speaking about praying about others.
- 42:51And we made in the last 24 hours, we made the intention of
- 42:54Charlotte to soon go to Omrah as a family.
- 42:57And I was talking to my daughter Hanian and the person that was
- 43:02another family member with us, they were like to Hanian, oh,
- 43:04when you go, when you're next to the Cabot, pray for me.
- 43:07And she was like, no, no, I'm going to, I'm going to pray 1st
- 43:09and I'll pray for you then I have to, I have to stop there
- 43:12and fine tune it. I'm like, no, no, we pray for
- 43:14others. Inshallah.
- 43:18Inshallah. I know.
- 43:18It's it's an amazing thing. Even like sometimes I'm randomly
- 43:22at work, I get a message. Someone's going like, I have no
- 43:25idea. He's in the shrine of Imam and
- 43:27Hussein. Yeah, he sends me a message.
- 43:29Salaam alaikum, say that I need of you.
- 43:31Hope you want. Inshallah.
- 43:32I'm thinking of you. I just prayed for you and I
- 43:33remembered you in the shrine. I'm like, wow.
- 43:35And then for the next month, I have a good life.
- 43:38Handle that. It has an effect.
- 43:40It does. It really does when you remember
- 43:42others, especially Mortman brothers.
- 43:44Don't forget us and show all our viewers, if you are all those,
- 43:47wherever you are around the world.
- 43:48All those who are oppressed, all those who are hungry and thirsty
- 43:51who are but long like there's a lot of people who are
- 43:53struggling, like you said. Yeah, everyone's going through
- 43:55something. Relatively speaking, we're going
- 43:57through nothing. Yeah, that's what those in all
- 43:59they're going through those and of course who are facing
- 44:02violence and aggression and all sorts of things.
- 44:05You know, their lands are being taken, their rights are being
- 44:08taken. And just as a.
- 44:10Chef once told me from his teacher and Hauser, he's like my
- 44:13teacher told me he goes the pinnacle of taqwa is to make a
- 44:17dua for someone that hurt you. Allah, and that's tough for
- 44:20many. People that's like I, I, I think
- 44:22about think about someone who's like like, like, like, like
- 44:24really like mess like, like how are you and like, like for for
- 44:28example, like a bad business deal or someone who like really
- 44:30stabbed you in the back. Imagine making the art for them.
- 44:33I think that's something we need to get to because it's, it's
- 44:37again, we're we're here for a short time.
- 44:39Our goal is hopefully like, I'm not saying I'm I'm there at all,
- 44:43but our goal is to get to as best we can, right?
- 44:44I think these are kind of cheat codes that you can do to
- 44:48overcome your ego and get to where you need to be, you know,
- 44:50paying for example, for someone who, who you know you, you.
- 44:54Really dislike. Yeah.
- 44:55And this is what this month is all about.
- 44:57Yeah. And he's not just building a
- 44:58relationship with our creator. No, it's mending those
- 45:01relationships that we have messed, messed about.
- 45:03And people may have issues, I don't know, with family, with
- 45:06friends, community members, distant people, I don't know
- 45:10business partners, whatever is come back.
- 45:11Brothers don't talk to each other.
- 45:13Siblings don't speak to family on speech with each other.
- 45:15Yeah. This is the month.
- 45:16Yeah, it's the type of and all of these.
- 45:18Things fixed it up honestly, honestly, God and, and for
- 45:20anyone I remember, like I just, there was a point in my head
- 45:22when you mentioned with the brother earlier that he, I don't
- 45:25think he was in the spirit of Ramadan, if that's how I
- 45:28understood it correctly. I, I don't know if I'm right
- 45:32about this, but I think a lot of times we face that, whether it's
- 45:36Ramadan or outside Ramadan, sometimes we compare ourselves
- 45:39to others in a way where we say, well, how come they are on that
- 45:41level spiritually? And I don't think we should see
- 45:43it that way. Whatever works for us.
- 45:45And Sha La La accepts it, right? As long as we're doing the
- 45:48mandatory things, which is the form, the fallah and everything
- 45:52when it comes to the fasting, right?
- 45:55Even if that's the bare minimum we're doing, keep as the bare
- 45:57minimum. Don't go less than that.
- 45:59And as long as you're doing that, you're maintaining, you're
- 46:02watching about Inshallah slowly. If not this Ramadan, Allah
- 46:05grounds us the opportunity next Ramadan, the future Ramadans, we
- 46:08build ourselves slowly. The problem is I think we're
- 46:11always like, OK, how do I maximize how I how do I do this?
- 46:14How do I achieve this? How?
- 46:15And we want to overwhelm ourselves with so much things.
- 46:19Take it easy. Someone, sorry, someone told me
- 46:22once that that getting to a place of like, good spirituality
- 46:26is basically just taking an extra step.
- 46:28Yeah. So for example, adding a tour of
- 46:29cart prayer to your, to your 5 minute phrase or, you know,
- 46:32throwing it in the morning or it don't have to be something
- 46:34crazy, you know, like it can just be something just a bit.
- 46:38And then once you've conquered that, then you've got a bit more
- 46:41after that bit more. Yeah, I think, I think that's
- 46:43that's a good way to look at increasing your.
- 46:45Well, step by step we can't jump.
- 46:47If I can add something as well, just the last thing because then
- 46:49I want to mention a few contributions we've had set in
- 46:53what you said about doing the bare minimum and even doing the
- 46:57additional musta habit or anything additional we can do.
- 47:00Ultimately it comes, it comes back to just knowing who you
- 47:03are, like just doing self assessments.
- 47:05When it comes to corporate world, we'll do SWOT analysis
- 47:08and risk assessments and all these things.
- 47:09We're very good at assessing everything else.
- 47:12But when it comes to ourselves, we're not very good.
- 47:13Right. For exactly like with me myself.
- 47:16Yeah, I'm like you, Nori. I think in some ways.
- 47:19So guys like you and me, we're thinkers.
- 47:21I said I'm like you in some ways.
- 47:23Oh, right. So guys like you and me are
- 47:24thinkers, right? Yeah.
- 47:27No, I mean, we're much more stable.
- 47:30We're other thinkers, we go for more, can reflect on life, yeah.
- 47:32That we we we go through from highs to lows within a matter of
- 47:36minutes. Oh my God.
- 47:37Wow, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:39Yeah, well, you have no idea. Yeah.
- 47:41And I know we, we we're both like this because we've known
- 47:43each other for so long. But I think for guys like us, we
- 47:46know because, for example, we're so emotionally volatile or
- 47:49mentally active. I feel like my minds on a
- 47:51treadmill 24/7. It could probably tell that
- 47:53through listening to the way I speak.
- 47:55But I know that for the WhatsApp groups.
- 47:59But no, I'm saying that you, you know yourself, use it to your
- 48:02advantage. Find out what your weakness is,
- 48:04use it to your advantage or know what you need to conquer.
- 48:07So for example, if you're emotionally unstable or you're
- 48:10emotionally volatile, understand, like you mentioned,
- 48:12anxiety, find a way to calm your anxieties.
- 48:15If you know that, for example, my issue is not the social
- 48:18element of Shahra Milan. I love the I love the knowledge,
- 48:22I love the community. My issue is my timeliness with
- 48:24solar. My issue is my laziness.
- 48:26My issue is I'm, I'm, I'm gluttonous with my food and all
- 48:31of these kind of things. Find a way to work on it.
- 48:34Do you know what I'm saying? I just want to share a few
- 48:35contributions with permission. So we asked, we had loads of
- 48:38responses to everyone from everyone.
- 48:40Thank you very much. We asked people what's your
- 48:42goal, your number one goal, The Shahramadhan the variety was.
- 48:46Was the last contribution was part of the same theme or was it
- 48:49a different? We asked 2 questions.
- 48:51We asked 2 questions. What was?
- 48:52What do you want to hear from after?
- 48:53Did you get any? More of those or what?
- 48:55Do you want to hear from after marketing?
- 48:56Yeah, yeah, I'll, I'll tell you those, but this one in terms of
- 48:59what's your number one goal, finishing the Quran no matter
- 49:02what. We had a lot about the Quran.
- 49:04Understanding more of the Quran to strengthen my bone.
- 49:06With the last point I like recite the Quran with the
- 49:08understanding to read and understand the eyelid TA.
- 49:11To praise Allah to lay every night and shut Allah to learn
- 49:14more about Allah. For Allah to heal me so I don't
- 49:17feel so broken and lost and say Bismillah before I eat and
- 49:22continue this habit. Reason called antifs here every
- 49:24night to get close to Allah by doing acts that please him.
- 49:28Once person said my biggest 1. The Shahram Bhavana's daily
- 49:31really makes a difference in my life.
- 49:34The one I enjoyed the most was to lose weight.
- 49:38So it shall, I mean, look, ultimately, like you said,
- 49:41you're doing your wajibads. I'll all take care of the rest
- 49:43and then. Can I just say people are so
- 49:45pure like, like, like, like think about all those responses
- 49:48that everyone's just trying to get back close to all.
- 49:50Isn't it like it's a very? Simple.
- 49:51So many more. Here, but it's like it's, it's,
- 49:54it's something you don't think about a lot.
- 49:55I think you know, I, I, I know it's, I don't know if it's just
- 49:58my experience, but I've noticed, for example, especially in in
- 50:01Michigan, like Friday prayer, the past few has been packed.
- 50:04You know, I was like, people are really trying to get.
- 50:06I've seen it increasing in London as well, by the way.
- 50:08Yeah, I think after, after Gazza, definitely.
- 50:11I've seen that actually. You know what is?
- 50:12Bro, I think people need the Imam like people need the imam.
- 50:16They don't know what it is, but they're they're like the people
- 50:19are looking for something. They're not getting that in
- 50:22anything. You know, they're not getting on
- 50:23social media. We've been on addicted to social
- 50:25media now for 10-15 years. It's driving me crazy, right?
- 50:28And people are still searching for something like now, bro,
- 50:32whatever it is, it could be Manjaro, it could be vapes.
- 50:35Like you're addicted to something.
- 50:36You're such a thing. You either want to look better,
- 50:38you want to feel better, you want to you're striving towards
- 50:40something still not getting anywhere.
- 50:42You know, Shakshmadi mentioned last week, the biggest battle of
- 50:45our, of our generation is determination.
- 50:48It's not money or weapons, It's determination.
- 50:50If we're determined to do something, whoever's the most
- 50:52determined will be the most successful.
- 50:54I I feel like the generation below us.
- 50:57You mean younger than? Us sorry is very not, I don't
- 51:00know maybe your experience, but they have a severe lack of
- 51:02determination. Yeah.
- 51:04And it's really, it's really. It's easy for them to give in.
- 51:08It's. Obvious what the culprit is
- 51:09social media, and I'm not saying I'm not I'm not, you know, and
- 51:12you want to come to social media either in terms of consuming
- 51:14social media, but like the way it rots your brains.
- 51:16I've seen that like, like drop of determination, especially
- 51:20with like work ethic, It really scares me.
- 51:22It really scares. Me Maybe one of our goals this
- 51:24Shahramavan should be to spend less time on social media.
- 51:28Like genuinely to use that time beneficially, especially in the
- 51:33night when we scroll and we're bored.
- 51:36For me, I unwind, I come home from work, I think to zone out.
- 51:39So I'll scroll or I'll just brain rock.
- 51:43You know, I think it's also, this is a kind of off topic, but
- 51:45it's kind of important to remember that boredom is
- 51:47important sometimes. You know, we're we're we're all
- 51:5190s kids, right? Like it's like, like remember
- 51:53those nine, those those days when you, you know, you couldn't
- 51:55scroll on your phone if you come home and you find your bored,
- 51:57you know, it's a Saturday on your bored.
- 51:58And, and, and from that border, I would say for myself, a lot of
- 52:01my creativity came from that bottom.
- 52:02You know, it's very important to get your brain thinking, like
- 52:07you said, reflecting. I think that's very important.
- 52:09So yeah, 100% don't just fast from food and and drink fast
- 52:12from sauce. Have you guys?
- 52:13Ever taken the kids TV away from your kids?
- 52:16Taking the TV away. Or not even a day difference.
- 52:19Night and day difference? You mean screen screen?
- 52:21Time. No, no, like.
- 52:23No. Move or ban it?
- 52:24Completely. 00 Screen time 90 Difference 90.
- 52:28Literally, So we do this every now and then, we detox.
- 52:31So in fact, we did it yesterday because my son, my son may love
- 52:37this. He's so cute, but he's cheeky
- 52:39like, you know, he'll, I'll tell him no more TV.
- 52:43For example, we had your whatever, 20 minutes, whatever,
- 52:46turn it off. Fine, turn it off.
- 52:47I'll walk out of the room and we'll turn it on.
- 52:49And he's a kid. He's 3-4 years old, so you know,
- 52:52he's still learning. He's trying to be cheeky and
- 52:55whatnot. So we said, look, that's enough.
- 52:58Danny, you've got to be honest with your word to keep your
- 52:59word. Today we took away the TV and
- 53:02we've done it a lot. We do it a few times a year.
- 53:04We take away the TV. You move out.
- 53:06Yeah, as in just or hide it or put it somewhere or.
- 53:08Yeah, we move it behind the cabinet basically.
- 53:12So there's not like the sideboard thing you put it
- 53:14behind. They can't even see it.
- 53:15They don't know where it is. So yeah, night and day
- 53:18difference. They're bored, they look for
- 53:20things to do. They start drawing, they start
- 53:21creating building. Yeah.
- 53:23Legos are good too. Yeah, yeah.
- 53:25Just creativity comes out, you know, Sorry, I don't want to
- 53:30talk so much more, but you asked for the other responses and.
- 53:33And so why don't you do this? I know the kids are, we're the
- 53:35same. We're the same, You know, we're
- 53:37not distracted by this stuff. You know, we as ourselves grow
- 53:40and, and think about how many hours you spend on social media.
- 53:43Let's say, for example, you spend 2 two hours day on social
- 53:45media, which is kind of like the norm, 2-3 hours.
- 53:47Imagine you spend 2-3 hours day writing a book.
- 53:49Yeah, bro, we had people saying that they want to start
- 53:51journalling. I saw, I saw it was a random
- 53:53clip of of someone. He would say hi to me, Dorsey in
- 53:56Kabul. He just bumped into me and asked
- 53:57him, asked a question. He goes sage.
- 53:59I write a book and he says, like, what's up?
- 54:04That's interesting. Yeah.
- 54:05And then and then he just said that maybe I don't know what the
- 54:07context was, but he goes, he's like, I want to you before you
- 54:11die, I want you to write 100 and 120 books, 120 books.
- 54:15And it's like we, we, we forget about this kind of lost art of
- 54:18all these things that we can, can, can dedicate our time to,
- 54:22that we can leave behind, that can be there for us after we
- 54:24die. How many books do you got?
- 54:287. Some way to go?
- 54:31120 go as well. Do you know, well, like honestly
- 54:34if like if it's very much if it wasn't for this social media and
- 54:37spending time on social media, I think like.
- 54:39You'd be on 30 now. Not even just poetry books, but
- 54:41like other other books, non fiction novels.
- 54:44Like like I, I really think I'm a, I'm a born writer and I think
- 54:47a lot of people will be like this that is hijacked by social
- 54:50media. The need to post and the need to
- 54:52oh, it's Milad, for example, and it sounds horrible to say, but
- 54:55it's Milad got put out post today.
- 54:56Or for example, I've made this video.
- 54:58I've got a successor need to create and share, which I think
- 55:00a lot of creators have. I think social media is good
- 55:03because you can share stuff and benefit people at the same time.
- 55:05Like we forget that social media won't last forever, you know, So
- 55:09yeah, I think making it more a generic point.
- 55:13I'm, I'm an aside. If there's something that, you
- 55:15know, any of the views want to do during that generally that
- 55:19they're putting off writing a book or or, you know, a memoir,
- 55:21whatever it is during doing a painting.
- 55:25Like how about doing it during Shahramadhan, a time when you
- 55:27know your your Aman is rewarded like what, tenfold?
- 55:29Whatever it is, there might be a good way to spend.
- 55:32Your time. Question of Dean.
- 55:34Question of Dean. Question of Dean.
- 55:37Good memories. Good memories, Nordic.
- 55:39I'm going to come back to this point on what we asked our
- 55:44viewers online or what they want to see us to create in terms of
- 55:47content for aftermath. I'm just going to share with you
- 55:49some of the suggestions that they sent in, and I want your
- 55:53thoughts on these. Yeah.
- 55:54So someone said they want to know how to stay focused and
- 55:59patient as well as peaceful during hardship and anger.
- 56:03Someone wants to know as a lifetime struggle.
- 56:07Yeah. Yeah, someone wants to know one.
- 56:09Day at a time, one day at one day at a time.
- 56:12How to change your life within this month Setting realistic
- 56:15goals with realistic far. I don't know why I've become the
- 56:19guy for this, but figure out exactly who you want to be at
- 56:24the end of the month exactly with no boundaries, and then
- 56:28work your way backwards from day one to day three and tell
- 56:31yourself what you need to do together.
- 56:33Someone said I love the topic of death.
- 56:36Anything to do with that I'm interested in.
- 56:39Cologne, I think you guys didn't have effortful mouths.
- 56:42Watch a few conversations. Yeah, watch tabs I would say, I
- 56:45told on the tape. Yeah, that.
- 56:46Was good. I'll mention 2-3 more.
- 56:50Ramadan is more than just fasting at hamal and support
- 56:52festivals at home. How I like to go first of.
- 56:55All you like the whole festivals.
- 56:56Yeah, I. Like the one in Dear One.
- 56:58Yeah, the one in Dear One. It was really nice.
- 57:00Yeah, I wanted. To go.
- 57:01I mean. I mean I the way I used it.
- 57:03I had a plan to go Dearborn this Ramadan.
- 57:05They they stopped that. Oh, really?
- 57:07Yeah. I think it's because it's too
- 57:08cold. Snow, it's too cold.
- 57:09And I think it's other things. It's when I left, it was like
- 57:13-23 centigrade. Yeah, but is the ice still
- 57:15there? I think it's melting right now
- 57:16if I'm not mistaken. That's crazy, Brian.
- 57:18It's outside your door. Yeah, that's.
- 57:21Mad but you know, like like like like the so so the the Soho
- 57:23festival. The thing is it's like it's not
- 57:26just a deal. They won't thing generally we
- 57:27have these like things pop up, especially in America.
- 57:31You can like use your time at night wisely if you use it the
- 57:35right way, you know, take your family out or meet some friends
- 57:38and spend it in halal and you know there's nothing wrong with
- 57:40that. You know, depending on how you
- 57:43use it. Fair enough, fair enough.
- 57:44I'm going to give you 2 more. One being is how to connect to
- 57:48our Imam during this time referring to.
- 57:52There's a nice to recite every day.
- 57:55This is all stuff I've heard that I'm reading.
- 57:56It's not. I'm not like.
- 58:09A. Scholar or anything Allah
- 58:18Mubarak in that Mama is a minor. Basically you're praying for the
- 58:20Imam every day and I've with the scholar that said this the
- 58:23second I tried this he goes a lot of Imam told me this and he
- 58:26was like a very high-ranking scholar as well and he goes the
- 58:28second I started doing this my life changed.
- 58:30He's like the second you start praying for your Imam, you'll
- 58:32see your life changed. Allah Mubarak in that Imam is a
- 58:35minor. There's a few things you can do
- 58:36by the daughter I had in the morning.
- 58:37One person told me that their father every morning just speaks
- 58:42to the Imam and tells him what he's going to do with this day.
- 58:45Solid. And you know that there's
- 58:47actually a very point, a very interesting point that I heard,
- 58:49which kind of like upset me. I don't know how true it is, but
- 58:52he said that when the Imam comes back, it'll be more difficult to
- 58:56speak to than he is to speak to him right now.
- 58:57But because now, because, because now you can speak to
- 59:01him. I'll hear you right.
- 59:02But that as he comes back and he's a physical person, like for
- 59:05example, like say it's Islami for example, like how difficult
- 59:07it would be to get message to him or to sit with him or to
- 59:09see. Hadith which say Imam Salah al
- 59:11Islam, where it says that the, the, the beauty of the labour in
- 59:16itself is for those who are in the labour.
- 59:18It's as if the Imam is already with them.
- 59:20That's beautiful like that. If you actually have matter for
- 59:23your Imam now it's easier to connect to the Imam.
- 59:26And also, if anything, you'll feel the, the, the, the, you'll
- 59:29feel the reality of his presence while he's in the labour and
- 59:33without obviously the calamities of the world.
- 59:35At the time there, there's been many times that I've reached out
- 59:37to Imam and like I've, I've had a hard drive or something and
- 59:41I've seen like wonders like I, I, I like we, we obviously have,
- 59:43for example, are there Imams and, and the Masamin that we use
- 59:46for hard driat and stuff. But like really speak to Imam,
- 59:49like really connect with him and I really believe you'll see the.
- 59:52Benefits. Can I just say as well how?
- 59:54I say that to myself first, by the way.
- 59:55I'm not trying. To say that Shaaban 15 Shaaban
- 59:57was two weeks ago and it's so nice that it's just before
- 1:00:02Shaaban like it sets you off on a.
- 1:00:05You know, for me, like I really enjoyed 15 Shaaban this year.
- 1:00:08We had the aftermath of event behind us.
- 1:00:10Yeah, we had rising dawn, Rising Dawn, we had Montata dawn event
- 1:00:15which was amazing and loads of other communities and
- 1:00:17organisations that they're an amazing programmes or molids.
- 1:00:20And there's a lot of content online during 15 Shaaban, a lot
- 1:00:24of lectures and a lot of research.
- 1:00:26I feel like I really enjoyed this year's 15th Shaaban more
- 1:00:29than the previous years. So my mind is like I'm Mahathi
- 1:00:32focused in the last few weeks and now Shahanamalan coming.
- 1:00:36It's perfect timing. It feels like it's.
- 1:00:37There's a really nice tafsir of Surah Qadar, but it talks about
- 1:00:43how Tennessee little Malaika to a raw right?
- 1:00:46So I'm I'm hoping a butchering is tafsir so please.
- 1:00:50Yeah, so so. So basically like, like who who
- 1:00:53are they coming down to? Because they have to deliver the
- 1:00:55the message or whatever it is to to someone, right?
- 1:00:57It has to be a maximum. Yeah.
- 1:00:59So point being is that like if the if it's if it's not only the
- 1:01:01Prophet, he's the one because he passed away, it still has to
- 1:01:04come to someone. And because the point is that
- 1:01:06that is the proof that the Imam is the one that receives
- 1:01:08beautiful, you know, all that information.
- 1:01:10No, it's good that you mentioned that.
- 1:01:11And I'm going to advise all whoever's listening right now
- 1:01:14who heard this point. Go back last year, we had an
- 1:01:16episode with Sheikh Hayoub. I mean, we don't have Seer Abbas
- 1:01:20sort. Of did this royal orders for us?
- 1:01:21Yeah, it was it was he did reference this, but the I don't
- 1:01:27want to spoil it. Go back and watch it.
- 1:01:29There was a lot of a lot of because obviously not in the
- 1:01:32Wyatt. It's sort of the Qadar is also
- 1:01:35proving kind of the Moqam of say, the Fatima Ali Saddam.
- 1:01:39I think I had this actually. I remember I don't.
- 1:01:41Remember, yeah, it's a really, really nice concept and the
- 1:01:44specific translations, also the Tatwil which referenced this,
- 1:01:50so. Also dedicating Amar to Imam
- 1:01:52Mehdi, you're still out to layers and your dogs here and
- 1:01:55there and to records like that stuff is also very important.
- 1:01:57Is that Ashraf is anything you do dedicating that to the Imam?
- 1:02:00Point being is that I think when you start, if you want to build
- 1:02:02a connection with Imam, again, I'm not an expert, but if you
- 1:02:04build a when you start to to to dedicate things to him, give him
- 1:02:07throw up. Like remind him that you're
- 1:02:08thinking about him. I feel like that's when you
- 1:02:10start to feel his presence the same way.
- 1:02:11For example, let's say you're in love or you have an amazing
- 1:02:14friend and you want to gift them something or, or spend time with
- 1:02:16them or, or, or speak to them or, or you pray for them in
- 1:02:19secret, for example. Same thing with the Imam.
- 1:02:21That's true. You do that.
- 1:02:22You, you, your your connection with them create increases
- 1:02:24automatically just by dedicating time and efforts to him.
- 1:02:28I sent. I sent.
- 1:02:29And speaking about time, just for time purposes, I'm just
- 1:02:31going to go to the last one. I said, I'm going to give you 2.
- 1:02:33There's the final one. And I think this one, I think it
- 1:02:43ends the discussion nicely because it relates back to
- 1:02:46Ramadan and it says how to continue the good habits you've
- 1:02:50started doing beyond the month of Ramadan.
- 1:02:53Yeah, that's tough. I don't know, but I'm not the
- 1:02:55person. Yeah, who knows?
- 1:02:57Go back to previous years. We talked about it, Lori.
- 1:03:00Come on, Lori. Can I, can I make one point?
- 1:03:03It's it's a very personal point, but hopefully it kind of
- 1:03:07connects to that maybe on some level.
- 1:03:09But I remember like this was two years ago.
- 1:03:12I moved to the US like 3 years ago and two years ago, what
- 1:03:16happened? Somehow I'm speaking to Hajj has
- 1:03:18named Rajali because he lives in Dearborn.
- 1:03:20OK. He's like, oh, come recite if
- 1:03:23you have. I can't just say next time I
- 1:03:25speak to him, please tell him we run him on the podcast
- 1:03:28Charlotte. Does he come to love him?
- 1:03:30I don't think he's come in a long time, Charlotte, when he
- 1:03:33yeah. When he comes back, just give.
- 1:03:34Just love it, Charlotte. But when you come, when you guys
- 1:03:36come to, you know, he comes come to a lot of podcasts, by the
- 1:03:38way. Beautiful.
- 1:03:39Yeah, yeah, yeah. 20 episodes. Not joking.
- 1:03:41Beautiful. There's a, there's a, there's a.
- 1:03:43There's a you can use as well. Yeah, yeah, Walla.
- 1:03:45Comes Charlotte coming in May. That's yeah.
- 1:03:47Well, if you can come to say offline, but if you can come to
- 1:03:51honestly, I'll give you 20 episodes with really inspiring
- 1:03:55find the donor you. Come to No, no.
- 1:03:57Would you come on a level because I'm going to be going in
- 1:03:59May, So if you come, then come. That while I come, I'll get a
- 1:04:01podcast studio to use and I'll get you 20 guests.
- 1:04:04Say the much. So why you're listening much?
- 1:04:06Much come as well. I'm going in like a couple
- 1:04:09months. Roll through, huh?
- 1:04:12He's in New York. He's in.
- 1:04:14America, bro, it's not a hammoud, right?
- 1:04:17Abdullah Hammoud. Yeah, Michigan.
- 1:04:18We could try. No, no, what?
- 1:04:20I'm. Saying he's a mission, but
- 1:04:22there's there's a lot of good people anyway.
- 1:04:24So Hacha's name, I I forgot if I messaged him or he messaged me,
- 1:04:27but it was like, oh, come recite wise.
- 1:04:29I was like, yeah, sure, no problem.
- 1:04:30I really want to recite. So I went and I recited there
- 1:04:33and I sat down a little cutter and I was thinking to myself
- 1:04:37about how it's just a, a thought that I have and I've written
- 1:04:40poetry about it. It's like how in my brain, maybe
- 1:04:43in my creative mind, it's like little cutter is dislodged from
- 1:04:46time. It's not part of time.
- 1:04:48So you look for a little cutter and you see who you are 10 years
- 1:04:51ago, 15 years ago, last year and and future as well, right.
- 1:04:55And I remember like in the early days of of like me embracing
- 1:05:01Shia Slam 2007 first year, I think it was.
- 1:05:04I was sitting in my flat on Howard Rd.
- 1:05:08And I was watching Regib IE lectures in in is actually
- 1:05:14American Dear 1 And I was like wow, like imagine like like.
- 1:05:17Full circle. No, it's not, it's not just full
- 1:05:19circle. It's like if you told me then,
- 1:05:22you know, and, and that year I did Amel in, in Dar es Salaam
- 1:05:24where it was or Mohammed, the trust where it was.
- 1:05:26And I go home and watch my lectures in IC and then like 15
- 1:05:29year later, wherever it was, I'm, I'm in dear 1 and I'm doing
- 1:05:32later there. I'm just saying with like, who,
- 1:05:35who, who would ever think that life would take you in that
- 1:05:37direction, you know, So I really think that you can use later
- 1:05:40Qatar to, to connect with yourself in different periods of
- 1:05:43time and, and think about how far you've come and think about
- 1:05:46what else you need to do and how far you need to go and re
- 1:05:49reflect on that and reflect on, on, on Allah's, on Allah
- 1:05:53himself. Allah does this stuff.
- 1:05:55You know, that's not something I could have planned 15 years ago
- 1:05:58or, or predicted or written, you know, and I'm sure everyone has
- 1:06:02a, has a similar story. So I think kind of thinking back
- 1:06:06to the question of, of, of keeping it after Ramadan, I
- 1:06:08think that's an interesting point.
- 1:06:09Like every Ramadan, And again, I'm prefacing this, I'm not a
- 1:06:13scholar. I'm not trying to say to be a
- 1:06:14scholar. I'm just giving my own like
- 1:06:16perspective. And I've got my frozen sins too.
- 1:06:19Every run with Shahramadhan, just try and leave.
- 1:06:22And Shahramadhan being a bit better than you were last year,
- 1:06:25a bit better next year, a bit more.
- 1:06:27Yeah, after that, a bit more. I tell this to myself as well.
- 1:06:30And if you do fail, if you do slip up, if you do take a step
- 1:06:33back, you have the arm of Shahramadhan, which you can use
- 1:06:36to, to, to you have that new placehold.
- 1:06:39Let's say Ramadan ends, you slip up.
- 1:06:41No, but I was betting Ramadan. I can go back to that.
- 1:06:43And then next thing you improve and you improve.
- 1:06:44That's beautiful to that. After that, hopefully that's
- 1:06:46beneficial advice. Now that's beautiful advice
- 1:06:48because it's it's a beautiful reminder that we should maximize
- 1:06:52as much as we can during this holy month and become better
- 1:06:57individuals, become better humans, better Muslims, better
- 1:07:00movements. And it's not about just when the
- 1:07:03day of aid comes, everything stops.
- 1:07:04No, we try to continue everything we built spiritually
- 1:07:07during this month and it continues 365 and shall until we
- 1:07:10die. So we enter 6 feet down and this
- 1:07:12is the reality, this reality check.
- 1:07:14We have to remember death, man, because a lot of people, I know,
- 1:07:1833, actually four people from our community that we know who
- 1:07:22were here last Ramadan and not here for this Ramadan.
- 1:07:25Yeah, that means we have the opportunity and they don't.
- 1:07:29We have an invitation by Allah to come back to God during this
- 1:07:34month and they didn't have that chance.
- 1:07:36Maybe they, maybe we, we are in need of tober.
- 1:07:39Maybe we are in need of improving our lives, our
- 1:07:42relationship with the lost panel.
- 1:07:44It's an opportunity. Well, lost an opportunity.
- 1:07:46And there is always a theme. I think just from me as a final
- 1:07:51note on this is that I don't know, theme was the right word
- 1:07:54to use, but there is, there is always this thought process that
- 1:07:56when you speak to so much people, and I'll handle that.
- 1:07:59I have the opportunity to speak with many people, many of the
- 1:08:01youth out there, they always feel like I'm not worthy to come
- 1:08:05back to God or I'm just, I'm just going to do the basics
- 1:08:09because I don't think Allah is going to accept anything from me
- 1:08:12because they've sinned so much, because they've done so much
- 1:08:15Haram, they've done so much sin. But Ramadan is not just for the
- 1:08:18moment, it's for the sinners. And we hear the verses, Smilah
- 1:08:22Rahman, Rahim Olia ibad, the Ladid Astra for Allah and Allah,
- 1:08:29I'm not telling you, I will forgive every single sin, the
- 1:08:33big, the small, the one you've done in secret, the one the
- 1:08:36public knows. Come back to God.
- 1:08:38Allah will forgive you. Bro, it's a Ramadan.
- 1:08:40It's an opportunity. It's an opportunity especially
- 1:08:44especially, and I and I really mean this when I say this.
- 1:08:47Yeah, especially if you feel like you're not worthy of God,
- 1:08:51you know, worthy of his love, you know, worthy of his mercy.
- 1:08:54That's that's you just being silly now.
- 1:08:57And you have all the scripture they're telling you God will
- 1:08:59welcome God himself. Human beings.
- 1:09:01And we upset someone, we anger people, we don't forgive, we
- 1:09:05don't forget, we're hard to please.
- 1:09:08No Allah, Sorry. I rather you do the most
- 1:09:10simplest thing. He's pleased with you.
- 1:09:12You can be a criminal. Allah will welcome you back.
- 1:09:14Where do you find this love? Anywhere else?
- 1:09:16What's that story of Ibrahim when he tried to get someone to
- 1:09:19sit with him? Yeah, to eat food.
- 1:09:21And he says Bispella and the guy goes, well, I don't believe in
- 1:09:23God for him as I get out and all that tells him, bring that
- 1:09:26person back. He's like, what did I do?
- 1:09:28And he goes, I've been feeding this person for the past 30
- 1:09:30years or whatever, or just because he doesn't so and
- 1:09:34because he doesn't believe me, you're not going to feed him.
- 1:09:36I've been feeding him, you know, so if God's going to look after
- 1:09:38those people, you know, like there's no telling us.
- 1:09:42I think as a as a very final point, I just lean on from that.
- 1:09:44I think some people, sometimes you can overthink what we need
- 1:09:48to do. The more I experience life and
- 1:09:51the more people I meet, the more I realize how valuable it is.
- 1:09:54And this is something I, I really, I, I try to work
- 1:09:57towards. I'm not saying I'm in there, but
- 1:09:59just do your watch about and be a good person.
- 1:10:01Oh, it's that simple. Be nice to people you know.
- 1:10:04Don't try not to be angry. Try to wind people up.
- 1:10:07Like, don't be, you know, malicious to people.
- 1:10:09Keep your word. Keep your word.
- 1:10:12If you can't keep your word, just, you know, you know, like
- 1:10:15people being a good person is very rare.
- 1:10:18That's the one thing I've kind of realized.
- 1:10:20But there is a lot of purity in our community at the same time.
- 1:10:23But yeah, we can overthink it, especially I think the younger
- 1:10:27generation. It's like, what do I do?
- 1:10:28I'm here. How do I get there?
- 1:10:30Do you watch about? You're a good person, you're
- 1:10:32good to people because Allah can forgive you.
- 1:10:35So if you have, if someone has something against you, if you
- 1:10:37upset someone and and they don't forgive you, then you're kind of
- 1:10:39in a. It's a proper.
- 1:10:41I'm going to ask you a final, final couple questions.
- 1:10:43Final, final, final, final question.
- 1:10:45Final, final, final. Rapid, rapid, rapid.
- 1:10:47Not on topic. What's going to be your first of
- 1:10:49all? First of all, I, well, I land
- 1:10:55first of Ramadan, so I don't know whoever's in the fridge,
- 1:10:59you know what I'm going to try and hydrate myself with the with
- 1:11:04the electrolytes. I.
- 1:11:06Was going to say, is it? What's in that?
- 1:11:07Yeah, bro. Oh yeah.
- 1:11:09So there's a very random. I've never.
- 1:11:10Tried, there's a good. Listen, there's a very random
- 1:11:13Shahramadhan article on the Muslim vibe.
- 1:11:15It's like food seat in Shahramadhan.
- 1:11:16It goes viral every year. Just Google it and it has like a
- 1:11:19list of eight foods and just follow that list.
- 1:11:22It was good. I don't want to misspoke to you.
- 1:11:24Someone told me about electrolytes as well and you're
- 1:11:26no trust me and and certain things to.
- 1:11:28Eat certain foods to avoid just. Follow that list and you'll be
- 1:11:31good to go. Yeah, yeah, OK, fine.
- 1:11:33What is your? What is like a must?
- 1:11:36For you like lift always, you know, at least once a year, like
- 1:11:42since. Since moving to DIBO, you know
- 1:11:43what I crave? Tastes low like every every year
- 1:11:49there'll. Be one day where I'll go, I'll
- 1:11:50get a SAAG. And none.
- 1:11:51And that would be like, you know, I don't know what is every
- 1:11:55every like 14th, 15th, I'll start to crave it.
- 1:11:57And the pros and dear one, there's like 2 Pakistani places,
- 1:12:01Hamdullah only two, no, but again, like 2 good ones.
- 1:12:06Again. So I I.
- 1:12:07It's it's full of. Lebanese in.
- 1:12:08Pakistan, I think this is. Amazing.
- 1:12:09So I tried them. Hamdullah got Hamdullah, but
- 1:12:13like, yeah, it wasn't his little man.
- 1:12:16You know, I remember 10 years ago Nori would tell me, let's go
- 1:12:19to slow. Yeah, TV this, but I used to get
- 1:12:21this craving. I don't know.
- 1:12:22It is every day. Quick word, right?
- 1:12:23I think 3 * a week. Yeah, used to.
- 1:12:27Go a lot but but I would say nowadays.
- 1:12:30Like back in the day, we used to crave everything.
- 1:12:32For a start, we had every Yeah. But these days, like I don't, I
- 1:12:35don't crave as much because. I've I've I've realized.
- 1:12:37Over time that you can crave whatever it is, but like you
- 1:12:39probably won't finish the meal and and you want and you'll be
- 1:12:42searching any other way. So I'm I'm kind of OK with a
- 1:12:44simple you get. You get for that reason.
- 1:12:46You get full off like 4 bites exactly.
- 1:12:48So it's like I just, I just be strategic.
- 1:12:50The taste of it, yeah. What I want is my coffee, as
- 1:12:53long as I have my coffee. I'm happy I'm melting.
- 1:12:55My coffee on the bar What is what is your Can I ask him one
- 1:12:59question? Go on.
- 1:13:00Yeah, if you have the opportunity, ask you a question.
- 1:13:03Wait, I ask you. Then you ask Ziam if you have
- 1:13:06the opportunity to break your fast with either myself or
- 1:13:10Ahmed, who would you break the fast with?
- 1:13:16I don't. I don't mind if you say Ahmed.
- 1:13:17In fact, I will. I will love the both of you
- 1:13:19more. Just be honest.
- 1:13:21You better say me. Honestly, it depends on I'm
- 1:13:22feeling. You better say me.
- 1:13:23No, I'm feeling. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:25Why? Who would you?
- 1:13:26Go to for what? Like if I'm feeling nostalgic,
- 1:13:29I'm going to speak about his senior staff Majalis.
- 1:13:31Or like not me out I'll I'll chat to rather if I'm if I want
- 1:13:33to sit down and have a conversation about community and
- 1:13:36sense and future San Andreas, I'm in the past.
- 1:13:41Tense but like. But like.
- 1:13:42In a bliss like it like oh. Remember that remember this yeah
- 1:13:46go like oh let's think of a way to make this happen or whatever
- 1:13:49How to grow after Muslim. Yeah that's how more over them.
- 1:13:52Yeah. How do you have you thought all
- 1:13:55together that's the right to be my answer?
- 1:13:56Have you? It was true.
- 1:14:00No, I love it. I love it, no.
- 1:14:02You asked us I've. Gone blank one, one hour, 15
- 1:14:06minutes in. What was your most stressful?
- 1:14:09I can give you mine was your most stressful.
- 1:14:11Two days of of Ramadan, like like like like like a
- 1:14:14back-to-back where you didn't have a good iftar.
- 1:14:16No, no, or like you were too big.
- 1:14:18Two days. I had AI had a bad one years
- 1:14:20ago. Where I can't even.
- 1:14:22See this on on broadcast. But like I fell asleep.
- 1:14:25I woke up at iftar time because I was living here and I had like
- 1:14:30water next to me. I was really tired.
- 1:14:31I just had the water. I had date the I had date and
- 1:14:33the water and I fell asleep again.
- 1:14:34Oh no, after Soho. Oh no.
- 1:14:36I passed it for two days once I just had a pre boycott days.
- 1:14:40I had a Kit Kat only. For Iftar, literally, yeah.
- 1:14:43Kit Kat the whole night. Oh, no, I was.
- 1:14:46It was really. It was a really.
- 1:14:47Messed up situation but I think I was in uni and like you I woke
- 1:14:51up really late. I had a Kit Kat, I had water and
- 1:14:55I was I could have this is pre delivery days of no apps nothing
- 1:15:00like that. I could have gone and got some
- 1:15:02food. I was by myself in uni, couldn't
- 1:15:05be bothering him. Days, yeah, bone days, like.
- 1:15:07You're. You're in the slums.
- 1:15:09Yeah, if you. Gotta do.
- 1:15:09What you gotta do? No.
- 1:15:11Thanks for going back. Yeah, no, not with bone.
- 1:15:16Bone Room's got a good choice, but.
- 1:15:18Abdullah, yeah, said. I'm trying to think.
- 1:15:21I don't think I've had. What about those?
- 1:15:22What about that one? Year that one summer 2000 and
- 1:15:25and. 16 Oh my God, even about the bar if.
- 1:15:30That was like at. 99 PM Yeah. So it was like a 1, you know
- 1:15:33that one. I went up very difficult.
- 1:15:36Yeah, that Ramadan the. Last 10 nights I was in like.
- 1:15:39Manchester, Sorry. A lot of people, yeah.
- 1:15:41They were, yeah. For 10 nights, people that that
- 1:15:42that had that actually. They gave up.
- 1:15:44I did a road show for Yeah. Speak of ABTV.
- 1:15:47Yeah, Yeah. Mad Azam's dad I love.
- 1:15:49Bless him and. Every night you're talking about
- 1:15:52your taste in the whole bro I was drinking more oil than I was
- 1:15:55having food. I'm drinking myself with the.
- 1:16:00Game. It was a mad one.
- 1:16:01What was your? Best day Ramadan history.
- 1:16:04Wow. There was one Shah al Maban.
- 1:16:08I think it was 2013 Sheikh Osama came to Stamwar and I will never
- 1:16:17and it was Leah. I think it was 23rd Fajr time.
- 1:16:21I will never forget the way he recited sort of Fatah in that
- 1:16:26Fajr Salah at that mosque. That's crazy.
- 1:16:28And that just that sort of fuss, how I remembered the tune of it
- 1:16:32and I learned it and I practiced it just after hearing it.
- 1:16:34Was it tortilla? That wasn't was it What?
- 1:16:36How'd it go recite it? No, I'm not.
- 1:16:38Recite. Let's hear it.
- 1:16:39No, no, no. Come on.
- 1:16:39It was 13 years ago. I don't remember.
- 1:16:41No, but I'm saying what I did was I while he recited it, it
- 1:16:45was so beautiful. It stayed with me and I
- 1:16:47practiced it and practiced it and practiced it and for days I
- 1:16:50kept learning. He's just martial lives amazing.
- 1:16:52And I think he's in town this year as well.
- 1:16:54So if it comes on the board, sure, I've got, I've got mine.
- 1:16:56It's the last one. What was yours?
- 1:16:57Best day of Ramadan history? Best.
- 1:16:59Day of Ramadan in history How? How's it?
- 1:17:02How's it? So easy to come to your minds,
- 1:17:04like just have mine stand up, have mine something that's oxy
- 1:17:07yours. Let me.
- 1:17:08Think mine. Was.
- 1:17:10Shahramadhan in Iraq. This was two years ago.
- 1:17:14You know, I've done every Ziara, Muharram, Arbain, Rajab,
- 1:17:17Shahban. Yeah, but Shahramadhan, bro, I
- 1:17:20don't know what it is, but everyone's in a good mood.
- 1:17:23So beautiful family vibes is so pleasant.
- 1:17:26It's such a pleasant Ziara and late Alcado, specifically night
- 1:17:29of the 23rd. This is my my very, my favorite
- 1:17:32night. Most the most my favorite night
- 1:17:35of my life. Literally I went to the shrine
- 1:17:39after Maghrib and it was and it was well.
- 1:17:45It was like this, it was packed and.
- 1:17:48It reminded me of how they say, I think I mentioned it last
- 1:17:52time, the night of Aishwarya was like the buzzing of bees because
- 1:17:55everyone was in a bud. Yeah, literally.
- 1:17:57So I went inside and I was trying to find a place and
- 1:17:59randomly I saw a friend, Mehdi, and they were sitting down
- 1:18:03because no, he comes next to me. He sat down and I read Josh and
- 1:18:06Kabir with him, got down and I found a random place, luckily.
- 1:18:09And I just did like I did all my Amal.
- 1:18:13And I remember I came emotional podcast.
- 1:18:17I remember like after that Amal, I went to Jude and I just let
- 1:18:22everything out. Like I wept like no tomorrow,
- 1:18:25like like just 30 years of every, every, every.
- 1:18:29So whatever I had in my heart, I let it out like crazy to the
- 1:18:32point where I go up. There was a guy when he looked
- 1:18:33at me, he's like, I know you're feeling, but the best thing is
- 1:18:37after that I got up, turned around and went inside to do a
- 1:18:41ziara of Iman Singh. That was the best like my life
- 1:18:46I'll never ever forget. This is why, broken hearts this
- 1:18:50is. Why every broken heart needs a
- 1:18:52lot? Yeah, I don't know what's add.
- 1:18:54Nori now these are beautiful memories.
- 1:18:56Inshallah these memories continue and we can all build
- 1:18:59more beautiful memories together.
- 1:19:03I'm thinking it's hard, but give us one does.
- 1:19:05That have the best one I'll give you.
- 1:19:06One, I'll just say one sentence and that's.
- 1:19:08It I just got memories of. When my father was alive and we
- 1:19:12have the Ramadan at home, that was I think the best days.
- 1:19:16Well, that's the first thing that went back to my head.
- 1:19:20I'll be honest. Let's do a faster for your
- 1:19:22father says. And all them are home in.
- 1:19:32Say that I was going to say, by the way, I.
- 1:19:35Was going to take it off camera to on camera.
- 1:19:36When you were speaking, I was thinking it's a pound line like,
- 1:19:41and I can see in you, you have that same spirit, Subhanallah,
- 1:19:45even though you didn't, even though you didn't become a Kathy
- 1:19:48per SE, like Subhanallah. It's just, it's crazy how you
- 1:19:51know, again, like it's like we, we, we, we, we carry on.
- 1:19:55I, I never met his father. I didn't do it either.
- 1:19:58By the way, you. Didn't mean no, I said I used to
- 1:20:00come to RA but I never. Actually sat with him.
- 1:20:02We like seen his. Pictures and videos, said Ali is
- 1:20:05like for like carbon poppy. Poppy.
- 1:20:07Yeah. You're like hungry.
- 1:20:08Look like him. You sound like Poland.
- 1:20:11There, there, there. There, there, there's.
- 1:20:13Excuse me final. Point.
- 1:20:14There's something about people who dedicate their time
- 1:20:17specifically to Ma Hussein. It's a very strange point to
- 1:20:21have a beauty. There's something about.
- 1:20:23There's, there's like a twisted beauty about.
- 1:20:25Yeah. Yeah, there's like.
- 1:20:25Why is it twisted? Not twisted.
- 1:20:27It's like, it's like, it's like they're, they're tired.
- 1:20:29But they're happy. I can't, I can't describe it.
- 1:20:31You see it in their souls and, and, and that's really what I,
- 1:20:34what I felt that night. And on the other colors, like I
- 1:20:36really, I, I really told them I was saying that I really want to
- 1:20:39be part of your people. You know, everyone has their
- 1:20:41people. Everyone has their people.
- 1:20:43You know, every has their people.
- 1:20:44Everyone has their, their, their, their, their place.
- 1:20:46You know, I'm a reaver. You know, we spoke about reverse
- 1:20:48before. I don't feel like I have a
- 1:20:49place. You know, I can't look back to,
- 1:20:51you know, I'm third generation here.
- 1:20:53I can't go back to my home country and say I belong there.
- 1:20:55I can't look back here and say I belong here or even like our
- 1:20:58community, Like I don't really belong anywhere.
- 1:21:01So, like, I remember telling their mom that night, I was
- 1:21:04like, like, you know, I, I want to, I want, I want to be here
- 1:21:07with you. Let me be of your people.
- 1:21:09Yeah. And it it, it, it comes at a
- 1:21:13cost, but the reward is, is is beautiful.
- 1:21:16It's amountable. I think if there's one person
- 1:21:18who. Who I would want to believe, and
- 1:21:23I would believe would be amongst them would be you.
- 1:21:25It'd be both of you and honesty, but you've both been.
- 1:21:32Granted the the. Blessing of Ziana and you know,
- 1:21:35and you both have done extensive work for the Imam and inshallah
- 1:21:39you've both brought people closer to the Imam.
- 1:21:42I know first hand as someone who knew both of you before you knew
- 1:21:45me, you know what I'm saying? You brought me close to the Imam
- 1:21:48before and you knew I existed. You know what I'm saying to him
- 1:21:50like 15 years ago. But they love this.
- 1:21:54Take everyone to Imam. Take everyone to Imam.
