- TB: Question out of nowhere, Sydney. Are you ready? Sydney: I'm ready. TB: All right, you are making your WWE debut. What theme song are you going to use for your ring entrance? Sydney: you Mr. Brightside by the killers. TB: Okay. So how do you want the fans to react to that? Are they gonna be are you gonna be Sydney: How else do you react to that? It's the best song of TB: I mean Sydney: all time. TB: I don't know. Are you are you a a a face, a good guy? A are you a bad guy? A heel? What's the deal? Sydney: I'm a good guy at first. TB: Okay, okay. And so Sydney: but I can't reveal what happens after that. TB: Okay. So you're coming out to Mr. Bright Side. Are you running to the ring? Are you slow walking it? Are you high high stepping it? What are you doing? What's your entrance like? Sydney: slow slow walk and really just taking it in letting the whole song play TB: All like three and a half minutes. All right, you're you're going undertakey style. Sydney: Yep. The whole thing. TB: I like it. That's not bad. I think that's a good place to start the show. All right, what is up, friends? We are back, the three Ts, tables, tailgates, and top loaders. I'm your boy TB here with my co-host Sydney. And yeah, we're trying to get back on a normal schedule. So how are things down in Florida? Sydney: They're good. It's a cool 70 something now. It's nice and crisp, which I love and it's a good wake. How about you? TB: Good week and and the hockey season kicked off last Friday night. They didn't get the dub, so that was disappointing. Sydney: No. TB: But yeah, when's the next home game? Sydney: Halloween, October 31st. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It was supposed to be our home opener, but yeah. TB: jeez. Ten whole ten more days? That's a that's crazy. those crazy icemen down there in Jacksonville. Sydney: We're wild down here. TB: No, I'm doing good. I'm I'm glad it's I'm glad it's Wednesday. so yeah, I wanted to ask you that question out of nowhere, just because I had a thought as I was preparing today, driving home from work and really thinking about mixing the show up a little. I mean, the last few weeks it's all been bills twenty four seven and seventy five to eighty percent of the show has been, you know, devoted to the bills and and With with good reason, but the question of theme song kind of stuck with me. And I wanted to get your impression of how important theme music is and recognizable music is to not just sports, but to wrestling specifically. Like how important is someone's theme song to the wrestler? Sydney: I mean, for me at least, I think it's probably the most important thing because that's how you connect to someone, at least in my head. Like when you hear someone's theme song, before you even see them, you know who's coming out. So, I mean, I can name a few off the bat, but they just have iconic theme songs that even though they might not wrestle anymore, I mean, it's still just... you hear it and it's like you automatically think of it even if it's like a song that just plays on the radio. TB: Yeah. Sydney: It's just automatically connected to that person so I think it's super important. TB: I know this wasn't on the the outline. I'm just we're we're going off script here, right? Right off jump for this episode of the three Ts, but I thought it was a cool topic and I kinda wanted to dive into a little into it a little bit. So yeah, you said you you still remember some of What are some that kind of st have have stuck with you through through through time, if you will? Sydney: Yeah, think some of them like John Cena, his first note. It's so upbeat with like, I don't even know how you describe that like first kind of like beat drop that happens, but TB: Yeah. Sydney: people just go insane with his. Randy Orton, one of my favorites of all time. Iconic theme song, CM Punk, so many good ones. I feel like his specifically like I hear it on the radio where I hear TB: Yeah. Sydney: it like when I'm in a restaurant or something and I like think of that. even though, like, of course, the artist made that song not specifically for him, I don't think, but it's just cool how you automatically think of someone specific when you hear these songs. So there's just some that I just thought of off the bat that are pretty, pretty good. TB: Yeah, no, th yeah, th those are all great. Those are all great. But the reason I I was thinking about this is because I'm watching Monday Night Raw the other day, two days ago, and the whole the whole last f month has been this build-up between the Usos, Solo Sokoa versus Royce Keys and his new band of misfits, the nine four six, and they're you know, these two fighting factions, and meanwhile Roman's kinda doing his own thing. He's fighting guys for the title and whatnot. And so anyway, they had this Monday Night Raw culminated with a big standoff in the ring and and the Usos and Solo are getting beat down, and there was thought that maybe Roman would finally join in and help out, and they're just getting their asses kicked, and then finally After two hours of anticipation during the show, you hear Roman's music, and it was like the crowd just went absolutely bonkers. And it was just crazy. I mean, you had you had to know if you were in the crowd, you had to know he was coming out. He was on the Sydney: Mm. TB: show earlier, right? So he was in the building, they made it seem like he was leaving. But come on, let's be real. Like, this is wrestling, he's not going anywhere. And then the minute his music hits, now he has a very like slow, don't want to say plotting theme song, but I still think it's fantastic. And and Roman never runs anywhere. So the fact that he slow walks down to the ring and you could feel the anticipation building as he's making his way to the ring. And then the other guys in the bloodline, they're kind of like slowly dragging themselves up off the mat. And so you have one team led by Roman now on the one side of the ring, and the other team led by Royce Keys on the other side of the ring. And they're just staring at each other and like you could cut the tension with a knife. And it was awesome. And then finally, boom, they just go at it and they're beating the hell out of each other. And it was just, it was just awesome. But the minute his music hits, everyone knew he was coming out, but the minute his music hits, it just the place came unglued. And it's like moments like that. I I love that stuff. So whether it's John Cena's music and he's coming down and surprising someone or or the I hear voices and here comes Randy Orton or the Cult of Personality music kicks in from CM Punk. You know, it's just this is I love that aspect of it because we may have talked about this before, but you could have bad music. Like Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: you could be a really good wrestler with terrible music. And when that music Sydney: Yeah. TB: hits and you can't Recognize who it is, no one's gonna care about you. So Sydney: Mm. TB: I don't know. I just thought it was it was kind of cool. I mean, I like how different I don't wanna, is it is genre the right word? I love how sports and music can kind of collide to form a perfect art form, if you will. What do you what do you think of that statement? Sydney: Yeah, for sure. mean, I see like these montages on TikTok and Instagram all the time of like kind of a song that you wouldn't really think would go along with sports, but they put it with like a player edit or a team edit. And it's like, like, I never even thought of that song in that way. So it's just cool how you can be creative with it. And I think a lot of these sports networks are kind of integrating music more. because every time you go to commercial, like you hear a different song or you see a different montage with the song. And I just think it's cool, a different way to kind of bring in more fans. TB: absolutely. And I think historically WWE, WWF, they've always done a great job with integrating music into their product, whether it be a promo package or whether it be a specific theme song to an event, whether it's a WrestleMania or a SummerSlam, you know, a specific single from this artist that's, you know, popping at the time. And and it doesn't have to be a specific style of music because they pick artists. That kind of cross all over the place. So they'll have hip-hop, they'll have country sometimes, they'll have rock and roll, they'll have heavy metal, and all these bands and artists and performers kind of are, you know, molded throughout different shows. And I I like seeing that. I like it. It's cool. It makes it more memorable. I've talked about this before on the show. One of my all-time favorite mashups or promo packages. was for Stone Cold Steve Austin versus The Rock and it was a WrestleMania. I think it was X7. I I don't know, 17. And it was, I could that that could be wrong. But it was the Limp Biscuit, you know, my way song, which for me this song was fire. And the way they used that song and timed it perfectly with the the splicing of the footage between these two iconic superstars was just chef's kiss. It was perfect. And I love when Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: when music and sports come together because it's two things I absolutely love and I'm passionate about. And I don't know. I just think it's I think it's great. So anyway, Sydney: Yeah. TB: that was kind of a little you you got anything else to to add to that? Sydney: Yeah, you just said one that kind of stood out to you and I just thought of one from years ago. The WrestleMania package that they did with Invincible from MGK. That was one TB: yeah. Sydney: of my favorite ones as a kid. TB: Yeah. See? And it's gonna stay with you. Like that's Sydney: Yeah. TB: what I'm talking about. Like that, that's what I'm talking about. And it it leaves this nostalgia factor or a lasting memory of, I remember that show and I remember that feud. I remember that match or I that see, that's awesome. That's awesome. And it's we're gonna look back 20 years from now, and we're gonna go, well, who won the Bills Raiders game in you know, 2026 in week six? And I'm like, I don't I don't have any freaking idea. But if you ask me what the theme song was to the Stone Cold Rock feud in WrestleMania, I could instantly tell you and know and kind of s picture it in my head how the video package played out. It's it's crazy. So I don't know why our brains operate that way, but It's it's a perfect mashup of of genres and I I I love it. So anyway, Sydney: Yeah. TB: I'm not here to do a rundown of the shows, but I just thought that moment at the end of Raw with his theme music kitten and Roman slowly coming down to the to the ring and really building up the tension and the it was awesome. It was awesome. And those are the things that I really look forward to when it comes to the great hobby of professional wrestling. So Anyway, I wanted to debut a new game. I know we're kind of starting crazy. and normally we start with the Bills, but the Bills can wait a minute because I'm not too happy with some of the Bills stuff. So we're gonna put them off to the side. You don't get first crack, Buffalo. You're gonna you're gonna sit patiently in the corner and and you're gonna sit and time out for a little bit. So, so we're gonna play a brand new game here. I'm not sure how this is gonna go, but it's called Finish the Quote. Are you ready to play? Sydney: I'm TB: I'm hoping that this game is as popular as the what's the gimmick game that's you know sweeping the nation. And we'll we gotta get that back to that soon. But I thought this would be fun. So what I wanted to do was I wanted to give you part of a quote that's been I would say these quotes are really famous in the world of professional wrestling. And I want you to be Sydney: Okay. TB: able to finish the quote. And then if you get it right, you get a point. And then if you could tell me the wrestler or wrestlers that said the quote. You get another point. Some of these are pretty easy. Sydney: We'll see if they're super famous. TB: Yeah, yeah. I think I think you're gonna do pretty well, but we'll see. I I think you can get I think you can get some of these. Are you ready? Now, do you want any clues? I mean, what this is a work in progress. So how how do you want to this? Sydney: Yeah, I mean, I think if I can't guess it, then I'll ask for some clues. TB: Okay, so I'm gonna try to say it without any accent or without using the style of the wrestler, because that's gonna be tough. Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: So I think I'm gonna start with what I think is the easiest one. So here you go. I'm gonna give you the first part of the quote. Ready? If you smell. Sydney: What the rock is cooking. I knew you were gonna say that one. It was already in my head. TB: So he crushed it. All right. So we're that was easy. That was easy. All right. All right. So and and who of course made that line famous? Sydney: the raw. TB: Okay, so what can you tell me about that catchphrase? Why so he hasn't wrestled in a while, but you clearly and easily got that one right. So tell me, why do you think you remember that quote? Sydney: I don't know why specifically I just remember him saying it so many times He would kind of do it funny sometimes I Say it funny in the mic or I feel like he would say it mostly when he was like roasting somebody I Don't know TB: Yeah, or or at the very end of his speech, he would use it to wrap everything up Sydney: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. TB: and kinda tie it all together. What do you think that meant? Sydney: I don't know. Maybe he's cooking up a good punch or something. I don't know. Or a good move. Or a win. don't know. TB: Okay, okay. So why do you think that phrase 'cause it was it was on t shirts everywhere. I mean, like that phrase was probably one of the most famous of all time. Why do you think that phrase was so lasting? Sydney: I don't know, like I guess because he was so just like captivating as a person, like he, he kind of just had a hold on everybody. So maybe TB: Yeah. Sydney: they were just eating whatever he was cooking at the time. TB: Ha ha. So on a scale of one of ten, how famous in in the the history of wrestling, how where do you wanna put that? Do you wanna so one being it's eight and ten being it's probably one of the best lines of all time. Okay, Sydney: It's probably like a nine or a ten. TB: yeah, I I think so. And I think that line was even made more famous just because of the charisma of the rock and how he Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: would Constantly deliver the line. And you're right, he would mix Sydney: Yeah. TB: it up. He would say it differently. He would roll his tongue at the end and you know, do all kinds of crazy stuff. So yeah, okay, that was an easy one. So congrats. You are one for one. You got you got two points. All right. You ready for your next one? Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: All right. Here we go. Train, say your prayers. And what? Sydney: I don't know. I don't think I've ever heard that before. TB: So this superstar Sydney: frame? TB: would tell mostly kids that they had to do these three things. Number one, train. Number two, say your prayers. And the third thing he told these youngsters to do would be what? Sydney: I've never heard that. TB: All right. Well you gotta fill in the blank. You gotta guess. Sydney: I have no clue. Train, say your prayers and eat your veggies? TB: pretty close. man, you are close. You are close. Sydney: Never heard that. TB: You are close. Any idea who would say something like this? Sydney: John Cena? I don't know. Way TB: Way before John Cena's time. So Sydney: before. TB: here's the quote Train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins. Sydney: I've never heard that. Who said that? TB: These are the this is the moral code, the moral compass of none other than Hulkemania. These were like these were like the Sydney: I don't know if I've ever heard him say that. TB: ground rules that you know, this is how you became a larger than life superhero. Like you know, this is this is this is the quote that like Hulkomania started to grow and be build momentum off of. So he would always tell the youngsters that they could be just like Hulk Hogan as long as they train, say their prayers, and took their vitamins. So what do you think? Do you think that message would work today? Sydney: No, I don't think so. TB: No? What why wouldn't it work today? Sydney: No. Because I don't think anyone listens to that stuff. Kids are like... There's not. I don't know, they're just different these days. TB: They're not they're not smelling what the holster was cooking back then. And he was definitely Sydney: No. You'd like, OK. OK, guy. TB: taking more than just vitamins, but anyway. Sydney: Yeah. TB: Anyway, so you don't think that one that one would be successful right now. Sydney: I don't think so, TB: Well that's a good question, to to put for all of these. Do you think can you smell what the rock is cooking would work now? Sydney: if someone else TB: Obviously Sydney: used it or if he used it. TB: I guess someone else use it and then they just use their own name. Sydney: I think it depends on the person, but I think that TB: Yeah. Sydney: one could still hold weight TB: You think so? Okay. So you didn't you you didn't know Hulk Hogan. All right, that's okay. All Sydney: I think. But yet again, it depends. No. That one was hard. TB: right. That was that was tough. Well, Sydney: are they gonna get hoarder? TB: I don't know. We we shall see. I may I may have guessed wrong here, but but anyway, you're one for two. All right, here we go. Number three, ready? Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: Can you dig it? Sydney: Sucker. TB: you got that one? Good job. Who said that one? Sydney: Who even said that? I don't even know. I do know it, but... TB: you don't know. Sydney: Someone a little bit older. No, I don't TB: If I told you if I told you one of his moves, would you be able to guess who it is? Sydney: He, it's like in my head, but I just can't. Yeah, what's his move? TB: He was famous for doing the spinner rooney. Sydney: That doesn't help me at all. TB: What about the fact that he was a five time, five time, five time, five time, five time champion? Sydney: Yeah TB: That doesn't help you either. Sydney: No. TB: He also won King of the Ring and was one of the most famous king king of the rings. Sydney: was it Stone Cold Steve Austin? TB: No, it was not. He also won King of the Sydney: I don't know. TB: Ring. But okay, I'm gonna give it to you. This is none other than Sydney: Okay. TB: Booker T. Sydney: yes, now what? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. TB: All right, so you got you got fifty percent of that one. So you have three out of a possible six points so far. How you feeling? You feeling all right? Sydney: Okay, I feel good. Yeah, yeah. TB: Okay, next one. I'm afraid I've got some Sydney: Bad news? TB: what You wanna talk out of nowhere? You got it Sydney: I feel like I've heard that, but I also feel like I don't know. TB: You nailed it. You get a point. You're up to four. Now can you tell me who Well at the ti it's this Sydney: have no idea who said that. TB: is easy because the last two words of the f phrase Sydney: Bad news bears. TB: Well, bad news something, not the Bears. This is a wrestler. Sydney: Bad news. This is an A? TB: Well, he he transitioned into being known as Bad News Barrett. Remember him? Wade Barrett? So this be this Sydney: Barrett, Barrett, Yeah, kinda. Yes. Yes. TB: the it started out as like a comedic change of his personality, but then it suddenly became this thing that kind of started to build a lot of momentum. And so he would come out and in the show at random times, he would walk up to the podium. He had like a gavel from the courtroom. Do you remember this? And he would like smash it on the podium and then he would lean into the mic. Sydney: wait, I do, I do. Yeah. TB: He would lean into the mic and he would say, I'm afraid I've got some bad news. And he would tell you something. I don't know. But it Sydney: He was so obnoxious. TB: people hated it at first, but then it became so annoying that they were Sydney: Yeah. Yeah. TB: like people started to like it. Sydney: Yeah. TB: And then they kind of just got away with it. So or just went away with it. So we never really figured out what the heck happened after that. But all right. All right. So you're up to what, four? How many points? I've I lost track. I think you have four. Four out of eight. Sydney: I think I have three. okay. because I got the extra point. TB: I can't remember. Anyway, I got I got one more, one more to go. All right. You ready? Sydney: Okay. Yeah. TB: Number five, here you go. Don't you dare be Sydney: What? Don't you dare be what? TB: Don't you dare be blank. One word. Sydney: Yeah. I have no idea. TB: This was from a group. I'll give you a clue. Sydney: Wait, was this from, Don't you dare be... Was this from Kofi Kingston? TB: you're right there in the ballpark. Yes. Yes, that is correct. He was a member of this group. Sydney: What did they say? TB: Who else was in the group? Sydney: Biggie Langston and Xavier... I TB: Correct. Sydney: forget his last name. Xavier Woods, yes. Don't you dare be... TB: Woods. They were known as the Sydney: What were they called? TB: You got the you got the members. Who what's the group's name? Sydney: The... New Day. TB: There you go. All right, you got a point. Now let's finish the quote. Don't you dare be Sydney: Hmm, don't you dare be it's like something weird I don't know TB: You gotta guess. Sydney: Scared TB: Close. Don't you dare be sour. Clap for your whatever time champions and feel the power. Remember? All right, not bad. Not bad. Sydney: Yes. No, that was pretty good. TB: So if you I don't know if you do you remember watching them at all? You have to, right? Sydney: No, I do. Yeah, I do. I do. TB: I don't know if you remember when they first debuted. It was much different character. Than what they transitioned into. They came out almost like this religious, holier than now, gospel choir singing trio. And that didn't go over too well. So Sydney: No. TB: they slowly morphed into this colorful, larger-than-life, happy, Sydney: Yeah. TB: go lucky. Everything's fun and entertaining with you know, musical instruments and bright colors Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: and bootios and like Sydney: you TB: unicorn horns everywhere. Thank God they changed because that concept originally was terrible. and then Sydney: Yeah. TB: they they go on to become one of the most popular factions of all time. So and successful to to to boot. So yeah. I mean, great. So what what'd you think of the the first game of finish the quote? Sydney: I think I did okay, but I definitely need a brush up on my knowledge. TB: You got I think you got I think you got fifty percent. So five out of ten. Sydney: that's not very good. TB: Yeah. I I I Sydney: Yeah TB: I think that was all right. I think that was all right. So, what do you think? Any of these stand up today or Sydney: No, that was fun. No, I think most of them besides the second one are pretty good. I didn't love the second one. I feel like it's super basic. TB: Strain, say your prayers and eat your vitamins. The one that put put wrestling Sydney: Yeah. TB: on the map. I mean, Hulk Hogan's credited Sydney: What? TB: for being like, I mean, the Hulkmania is the reason we're talking about wrestling right now. I gotta tell you. No, Sydney: Yeah, that's true. I'm just talking about the quote specifically. TB: I gotcha. I gotcha. I mean, there were some other Hulk Hogan quotes that I was like, I don't know. Well, we're gonna start with this one. So maybe we'll Sydney: Yeah. TB: we'll work some other ones in. But all right. Well Sydney: Okay, yeah, I like this game. I want to play again. TB: we'll see what the what the public thinks. Sydney: You TB: I think he did good, so not Sydney: you TB: not too bad. But anyway, so how do you rate how do you rate that game on a scale of one? Sydney: I like that. Honestly, I think I like that one better than the last one. I still like the last one, but I think that was fun. I'd say TB: You like Sydney: it's a nine out of 10. TB: you like finish the quote better than what's the gimmick? Sydney: Yeah. TB: man, I don't know. I love what's the gimmick. I think it's great. Sydney: No, I like that one too, but this one's fun. TB: All right, fair enough. Well, let's turn our attention. That's all I got for wrestling. You got anything you want to talk about in wrestling? Sydney: No. TB: I just thought we would mix it up, have a little fun, and kind of go off the Sydney: Yeah, that was fun. TB: beat, go off the beaten path a little bit. You know, look, it's music with their theme songs or their catchphrases. This is what makes these men and women larger than life. And this is what creates these, you know, timestamps in our mind to this is what we don't forget. So I I think it's important and and it's kind of a cool walk down memory lane from for some of this stuff. So I Sydney: Yeah. TB: thought I thought it would be fun. But let's turn our attention. All right, Bills. Time to to come out of the corner. you're out of timeout. It's time to talk Bills versus Raiders. Bills are coming off another dub. We're five and one after Sunday late afternoon, early evening. Bills win in Vegas 33 to 30. And now we are heading into the bye week. So I'm gonna give you one word or sentence. How you how did you feel after the game, watching the game? What where you wanna go with this? Sydney: Hmm my one word I'm gonna say sketchy I knew that going into this game that it wasn't gonna be as easy as some people might have thought it was gonna be because The Raiders are a good team They're not a great team by any means but I mean when I said this last week when Kirk Cousins is on He plays really well and he balls out. I mean, he played really, really, really well in that game. So it was sketchy. And then the ending, I'm like, TB: What what's your nickname for him? Sydney: holy crap, it's Kerco Chains. TB: I love Kirk Cousins. I love him. Sydney: Me too. TB: I loved watching him in quarterback. I think he's a very good human being. he's a guy that you want to root for. I think Some teams did them dirty. I got I gotta be honest. but I Sydney: Yeah. Yeah. TB: think in Vegas, as a mentor to Mendoza, I don't think you could ask for a better, a Sydney: Yeah. TB: better mentor for that young man to learn Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: from Kirk. And yeah, I mean, look, if I wasn't a Bills fan, if if the Raiders were in the NFC, this might be the team I root for. Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: I like the way they played. They played hard. They didn't quit. I think they got some good young talent, and I would easily root for this team. And as I'm hearing stories come back from Vegas, I wish I was at this game because apparently Bill's Mafia showed up. Now, normally we always talk Sydney: Yeah. TB: about how the the mafia travels well, and they're always representing in these cities. Everything I'm hearing, there were more Bills fans in that Allegiance Stadium in Vegas than there were Raiders fans. So Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: I wish I was at that game. It would have been fire. let me ask you. Yeah, it's it's Sydney: Yeah, I'd love to see that stadium. TB: it's great. It's gorgeous. We were there for for mania. It's awesome. Just awesome. and it has a roof on it. Has to, right? Because it gets 115 degrees out there. Sydney: Yeah. TB: So, but let me ask you a question. How nervous were you watching this game? Sydney: I wasn't as nervous going into this game as I was in games previously, but I was still nervous. And I think it had a lot to do with the circumstances. We had friends over here. So my vibe is just different when I'm TB: Yeah. Sydney: sitting here by myself or I'm sitting here with Mike and I'm watching a game. I feel like you just automatically have more nerves, but when you're around more people. You're having conversation, you're doing other things. You're still watching, but the vibe is just a little bit more chill. So towards the end, I would say I felt a lot more on edge, but during the game itself, I wasn't too, too nervous. but there were points where I was like, my gosh, what are we doing? I think there are points definitely for sure. But I think that had a lot to do with again, my environment. TB: Yeah. No, I I I get it. I gotta be honest, I never got nervous in this game, which is a rarity. I don't know why. I don't know what led me to that feeling, 'cause normally we'll play the Jets or the Dolphins and I'll be like, my gosh, we're gonna lose our freaking game and I'll start getting Sydney: Yeah. TB: all out of whack. But for some reason, this game this game never made me nervous. I was never n I was some things upset me, which we'll talk about here in a few minutes. Some things upset me during the game, but I never got to the point where I'm like, my gosh, we're gonna lose this thing. so Sydney: Yeah. TB: I don't know. Again, I think we've asked this question now for the last few weeks. Was this a good team finding a way to win or another warning to the team that if unless the offense is perfect and plays nearly flawless football, we are in trouble. Sydney: I think this was a slight improvement from last week or weeks prior. I do think that we're improving. There are a lot of areas that we still need to improve, but I don't think that this week was more so just like we got by on luck. I did see parts of the team where I think they looked better. So this week I felt a little bit different in that regard. I think that, you know, it was just a hard fought win. But like I said, there's still areas where it's pretty bad and that we need to fix. TB: Yeah. So let's start with what we liked. So give me your top your top thing that you liked about this game. Sydney: Just seeing Kion's confidence kind of come to the forefront, I feel like he looks like a completely different player. Like, I don't know if you agree with that, but he just looks so much different than he did last year. And I think he's taking on more responsibility because of DJ Moore being out. So I love, love, love to see that. TB: Yeah. Sydney: I wish that we would integrate King Kade in the game a little bit earlier. I don't like how we wait a little bit too long to get him involved. And I know he is, he went out of the game. So whether he's hurt, I'm not sure if they even released anything about his condition at this point. So that's the thing that I think we need to get involved more. I think Josh looked better. He wasn't being as careless as he was in games prior. He looked a little bit more comfortable, a little bit more confident like the Josh that I feel like we're used to seeing. I love how we're integrating Ty Johnson and Ray Davis. Ty Johnson TB: Mm-hmm. Sydney: is a great receiver. mean, his positions are running back, but he is so good at receiving the ball too. which is really cool to see and Ray Davis is also really good at just kind of making like those shifty runs and also Ray Davis and Greg Dorch are making TB: Mm-hmm. Right. Sydney: really great returns which I love to see as well. TB: No, those are great points. Keon, I feel like he's running his routes a lot crisper, a lot sharper. Now he's not getting that separation, but he's not that type of player. He doesn't have that breakaway speed, the the move set, like you know, some of the top guys, like Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, those guys. But I think he's playing with a lot more confidence and Josh has trust in him. And I think he's put in the work and it's showing. And I I like to see that. and I think. I actually think he's kind of taking over the Gabe Davis role from when Gabe Davis was first on this team and when he was really Sydney: Mmm. Yeah. TB: like coming into his own. Sydney: Yeah. TB: he's not always gonna have these huge, you know, six catches, eighty yards, seven for a hundred and two tutties. Like that's never gonna be Keon's game. But I think Sydney: Yeah. TB: he makes catches at crucial game changing, momentum saving times in the game. Whether it's for key first downs to keep the momentum going, to keep the drive moving, to move the chains, I think he's contributing at perfect times in the game. And I think that that is fantastic. And I couldn't ask for more from Keon. So great job with that. Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: you mentioned Josh Allen. I think he played much more efficient and he took what the defense gave him instead of just forcing the ball all over the place and Running around and trying to make insane play after insane play. No, he did make an absolutely insane play with the shot put or whatever we want to call that one to Keon, who just kind of broke free. And we could talk about that in a minute. But yeah, he played clean football. He didn't put the ball in harm's way. And again, total opposite of the rushing side from last week. Last week he was running all over the field for over a hundred yards. This Did he have 10 yards rushing in this game? I don't even know if he did. He might have had two rushing carries. So totally safe, totally efficient game, which I'm completely fine with. I wanted to start with who I think is the the MVP of this team so far. It's Tyler Bass. He made four field goals. I mean, come on, give the man some love. This guy, T Bass is on fire. I mean. Sydney: How could I forget? No, that was great. TB: The confidence is growing for T Bass. Look, Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: I know you missed two extra points. Who cares? It don't matter. Sydney: you TB: Can you tell me who owns the record for most consecutive field goals made in a Bills season? Any clue? Sydney: Is it, is it you, Bass? TB: Well, he's tied with 18. It's eighteen. He's tied it already right now. Ryan Lindell, two thousand seven. He had eighteen straight field goals and T Bass has Sydney: That's great. TB: suddenly tied it. Did you ever think you were going to see T Bass tied for the Bills record, all time record of most consecutive field goals made? Sydney: I I was hoping it would happen at some point. I think a few years ago, he low key like wanted his head on a stick. So I mean, at this point, it's great. I like T-Bass. Makes me angry at some points in years previously. I mean, yeah, like you said, I think you can just tell like a difference in him. I'm telling you, it's the mustache. I'm telling you. Could be, yeah, TB: I think it's the number. I think it's the number. Sydney: it could be. TB: And then in two weeks at home in Baltimore, I'll be there. I I could possibly be there to see him break the all-time Bills consecutive kick record. Are you my gosh, are you crazy? I should maybe I should order Jersey quick and see if I can get there. Get it, see if we can Sydney: Maybe soon. TB: Yeah. They screwed up my Cole Bishop one. So anyway, we won't have to talk about that. Sydney: Well, maybe you don't want that one at this point. TB: man. I did. China came through for me and I got my off-brand Gregory Rousseau, what do we call it? Nickel City jersey. That thing, I Sydney: Yeah. TB: gotta tell you. I gotta tell you. Side note, stop the presses. Wearing that one on a personal level, I love that jersey. I know it doesn't translate. Sydney: Yeah, no one's sick. TB: It does not translate on TV. It looks like crap. When the players are actually wearing it, but to to kick it around the house, maybe tailgate, maybe rolling into the stadium, that jersey is fire. Like Sydney: Yeah, I like that one. TB: I don't care. I'm I am rocking the Greg Rousseau jersey at this point. So yeah. let's see. what other points did I have? I thought James Cook played played well. two hands on the ball, James Cook. Yeah, you look great. He looked great. but yeah, Sydney: Yeah, yeah. Dorian Williams, first pick. TB: Dorian Williams. Yeah, with the with the with the INT. Yep. Yeah, that was Sydney: First one of his career. TB: that was a nice, a nice play. Now I'm trying, I'm trying to be, I didn't want to come on the podcast today and just be like Debbie Downer and just everything's negative, negative, negative. So I'm trying, I'm trying to to be a little more positive, but we do have to Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: talk about some of the bad things, some of the things we didn't like. I'm gonna give you the floor. Where do you want to go with this? Sydney: I mean, at this point, I feel like we talk about the difference every single podcast. I mean, It's bad. It's bad. TB: Yeah. Sydney: Like it's really, it's really bad. It's awful. But what else can you say more than that? I don't know. It doesn't really seem like TB: So we're number one, we're the number one, Sydney: it's getting better. TB: we're the number one scoring offensive team in the league. We're first in scoring and we're twenty eighth in points allowed. So at some point, something has to give. Are we ab are do you think we're gonna be able to sustain scoring thirty to thirty five points a game every game for the rest of the season? Sydney: No, and I don't understand why every year we do this and we think that signing Tridavious White is going to save our season. TB: We're already we're already dogging on Trey White. The guy's not even he's not even on the field yet. Sydney: No. No, I'm not dogging on him at all because I love him. I think he is such a cool guy. Like he, he, TB: He played great last year. Sydney: he, he's just old. Did he dramatically change the defense at all? If you're adding him for TB: We shall see. Sydney: a mentorship, I get that. But it's like you go back and you add Jordan Poyer. Like, has it changed much? I don't know. Is it gonna really push us over the edge to get to the Super Bowl? You're gonna tell me that Trey White is gonna be that missing piece? I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think TB: Yeah. Sydney: that's the case. TB: Yeah. I I think one of the things that I was most excited for heading into this season with Jim Leonard coming in as the new defensive coordinator was this idea that he was gonna create this defense that was very high risk, high reward. And I was okay with that. I had gotten in the right mind frame and the right mental space where I was like, Hey, if we give up these big chunk plays on from time to time and we give up the big tutty. No problem. But we're going to be attacking. We're going to be aggressive. We're going to get up to the quarterback. They're going to be running for their lives. I thought he was going to be this chaos creator. And all these players were going to be just flying around the field and doing things we'd never seen before. We haven't seen any of that. In fact, the Bills are one of the lowest blitzing teams in the whole league. They don't get after the quarterback. Despite how good Rousseau and Deion Walker are. The defensive line is not getting pressure on these quarterbacks. Now, I will say Kirk Cousins historically gets the ball out very quickly. and and who's the Matthew Stafford, same thing. Very quick, gets the ball out very quick. So these guys are hard to sack. I understand that, but sometimes you still got to get your hands on these guys, and they just they're not doing it. Bradley Chubb, terrible signing. He hasn't done anything. Not only has he not performed. Sydney: Yeah, he's been worthless. TB: But he's getting in fights and he's running his mouth and he's just he's kind of a joke. And I'm pissed off that we're paying these guys, these has been or these middle of the road guys, big money to come in here and be below average. I I it drives me crazy. So I already lost my train of thought. But I had this idea, this this this belief with Jim Leonard that we were gonna be super exciting and aggressive. And I was I was ri I was ready and willing to live with the give a little, take a little mentality. But here, it's no different. It's no different than it's ever been. We're we're sitting back, we're playing passive, and we're letting things happen, and then it's we gotta make the tackle. Well, the problem is some of these guys aren't even making the tackle. So 22, I don't even want to say your name because we're gonna get to you in a minute, but 22 can't tackle. He's terrible. Half these guys can't tackle. So I'm like. The the secondary is running around crazy. We talked about that for four straight weeks. We make the Raiders and some of these other teams look like their offense is amazing. 30 points by by the Raiders. I love you, Kirk, but that shouldn't happen. Again, he's throwing the ball. They shut down Brock Bowers, right? For for most of the game. Christian Sydney: Yeah. TB: Christian Benford had him on lockdown. And then and then they decide to take him off Brock Bowers. And that's when Brock Bowers started making all these plays. So they had a plan in play in in place for him and they kind of went away with it. And I'm like, what is the game plan here? What is the game plan? I feel like there's no game plan. And these guys just don't know what the hell they're doing. So it's there's no pass rush. The defense is or the secondary is all over the place. And it's just so frustrating to me. So I don't know. Take it away. I gotta catch my breath. I didn't want to be negative. Sydney: Yeah, I mean, I feel like we've seen some positives, very few, but I don't know if I'm pronouncing his name correctly. I've heard people pronounce it differently all the time. Igneousom? I don't know. TB: Jim Nance couldn't it's Igbonosin. Sydney: I think that TB: IGB. Sydney: he's been playing well. I think when he is not getting flags every other play, he's playing pretty good. But he was, I think, like the most penalized player in Ohio State history, which is not not ideal at all. But I think he's playing aggressive and you can tell like when he's out there, he really wants it. So I like to see that, but I feel like some of these players have just been completely absent. Like we really haven't seen much out of Cole Bishop at all. thought that he was going to be like our next MVP on the defense and then he really hasn't done anything. Hairston's been bad. I mean, we know that. I mean, I don't know. I don't want to rip apart the defense, like we said, but TB: Yeah, I Sydney: Mm. TB: think I think there's something there with IGB. I I like the aggressiveness. I'm okay with getting penalties now and again. that's gonna come with the territory. And look, the the refs, you've seen it. They can't call a flag on every play. So like take your chances, Sydney: Yeah, that's true. TB: right? So I I like the aggressiveness and and there were some some improvements, a lot of pass breakups in this game. So I like that they were able to get their hands in there and knock some of these balls away. I I do appreciate that. We shouldn't be giving up these super long drives and these ridiculous plays. The one at the end of the game, there's no there's no reason for that. So All right, we gotta talk about it. CJ Garner Johnson, number twenty two. What do you want say? He was obviously ejected before halftime. And they must have replayed it what six, eight times. He spit towards who was it, Bowers? I don't even know who he was spitting towards. It doesn't Sydney: I don't know. TB: matter. But he spit toward a Raiders player. They caught him. He was not only given a 15-yard unsportsman-like, but he was kicked out of the game. And so the rest of the game, DeMar had to fill in and play safety. So after the game, He gave this, in my opinion, kind of a lame ass apology. I don't know if you heard it. but I wasn't really happy with the apology. And so now here we are. It is Wednesday as we're recording this, seven thirty at night. He's been suspended one game by the league. And after listening to Joe Brady, it seems like nothing else is gonna happen to this guy. So Sydney: No. TB: what are your thoughts? Sydney: I mean, in my opinion, it's just embarrassing. think in Buffalo, they did a really good job at building a good culture. And this is a culture cancer. I mean, he's awful. Not only does he play terribly, but he just doesn't seem like a good guy. Like he got ejected. The defense, in my opinion, played better without him. think, yeah, honestly, TB: For a short time. For a short time. Yeah. I agree. Sydney: he has not contributed anything. Positive to the defense to the team in general. All he does is run his mouth every single week. He's in the media Literally every single week. He has been in the media for something starting week one against Houston, so I In my opinion Joe Brady you got to step up you got to be a man and you have to discipline these players I'm sorry, but If he's gonna do it others are gonna do it, too and you're just not setting a good example for your locker room, in my opinion, he should be cut. TB: Well, it's funny you say other players can do it too. Did you hear this story? Sydney: Yeah. Yeah. TB: Sam Franklin Jr., Mr. Special Teams Extraordinaire was also just suspended by the league for doing the same thing with a minute and a half left in this game. Now, this was not known to anyone until what, a couple hours ago? half Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: I don't know. What I don't even know what time this came out. Earlier this afternoon, one, two o'clock. I I'm not sure. I hadn't heard about this prior to this afternoon. I didn't see it on TV. They didn't say anything. And then he suspended a game too. So now you have two players on the same team. How many times has this happened in a whole season, let alone twice in the same game on the same team? I'm like, are you kidding me? I don't want anything to do with these clowns. What are what are we doing? Like it it's it's embarrassing. And look, Sydney: Yeah, it is. TB: I don't ever want to say that this incident is similar to some of the other off the field. Fiascos that some of these clowns get themselves into. Look, it's not even in the same galaxy as like some of the domestic violence and some of the assaults and some of the, you know, serious, serious, actual crimes that are being committed. And then we have to deal with it because now the league has to get involved and and issue suspensions and that's that sort of thing. But you're on the field, you're conducting yourself in a way that does not represent the Buffalo Bills in any way, shape, or form. And that's something I just don't want. I don't want any part of it. And I don't care. And in the the narrative I kept hearing in the last few days was, he's not playing well anyway. So what difference is I don't care if he's playing great. You can't act like this. Like that's not someone I want on my team. I don't care if you're the best player on the team. But people were using like his performance as a reason to get to the punishment for the action. And I don't think that that should be even in the same category. You need to look at the action. What does the action represent to you? And how do you want to make a stand as a coach, as an organization, as an owner? If I was Joe Brady, this dude would be off the team Sunday night. And I get Sydney: Yeah. TB: that we're we're short and we're you know having some issues in the secondary, but do you want your young players, Cole Bishop specifically, learning from this guy? And I think bringing Poyer in last year helped Bishop calm down and it really reset his focus and his mind and it let him play freer and clearer. And and you saw the impact that Poyer had on Bishop on the field. I think 22 is a cancer not only to the the the locker room, but he sure as hell isn't helping Cole Bishop out there. Sydney: no. And just going back to Joe Brady, like you as a coach, you have to have a zero tolerance policy for stuff like this because how many times has he gone and done something dumb? Clearly, you're not doing enough as a coach, as a father figure or whatever, you know, you want to call this like as a coach, you need to have a relationship with your players where, yes, you're a player's coach. and they like you and they trust you, but they need to know to respect you. And clearly they don't respect you as a coach right now if they're doing these things. They're not scared of you. Your coach, you're gonna be a little bit scared of your coach. That's how I've always felt. You don't wanna mess up because you don't, you know, that's just the idea that I've had in my mind. TB: Yeah. Sydney: I'm watching, it's unrelated, but I'm watching the Nick Saban documentary right now. And they interview players from... his time when they were insane and the players they're saying, you know, he was a player's coach. He had them over for dinner. He did this. He was a great guy. They loved the coach. They were scared as hell of him. And TB: Right. Sydney: that's how it should be because then your players aren't acting like this. TB: Yeah. Sydney: You can't you can love your players and you can have them trust you but you can always they need to be a little bit scared of you and they need to know not to cross you. So Clearly he's lacking in that department. I don't know what's going on, but it needs to be addressed. I mean, it's kind of unacceptable in my opinion. TB: Well, it started in training camp because we had the issue with him live streaming from the locker room or wherever, and that had to be addressed. It carried over into the regular season. We had the issue after the Patriots game with him making the comments about Chisholm and the you know the wide receiver the practice squad nonsense. running his mouth there. Sydney: The Stroud comment. TB: Yeah. And now this incident, and it's like, okay. When when is enough enough? Like at some point, the juice is not worth the squeeze. Get this guy the hell off the team. And and Sam Franklin, like, who knows? I don't know the circumstances around that one either, but there's no there's no place for this. There's no place for this. I would rather see a fist fight than see somebody get spit on. Because I Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: learned a long time ago that is the one thing that is just not okay. And someone spits on me. it's go time. We are we are throwing hands. it's like probably the worst thing you could do to somebody. You can say Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: throw every insult you want, and that's fine. Don't don't try to spit on me because we're we're we're going at it. I don't know. It's just Sydney: Yeah. TB: so frustrating. And I said at halftime, I came upstairs and I was talking to Jamie. I'm like, this guy needs to not make the bus home or the plane home. Like have him find his own way home. I I don't want people or players like this on my team or representing my team. You know, it's just it's it's so so bad. So I don't know. yeah, I don't know. What else? What else you want to talk about? Let's talk about the bye week. Good timing, bad timing, what do we think? I think they I Sydney: Yeah, TB: I think they need it. Sydney: think it's good timing. Yeah, I think it's good timing. You're going in with with two good wins. So that's a positive. think that Kinkade going out. Hopefully it's not too serious. He has some time to kind of chill before we get back. Other nagging injuries. I don't feel like we have too many right now. But if there is any, they can just get that squared away and we just come back and get ready to go. But yeah, I mean, clearly there's holes that need to be fixed. Maybe give us that some time to do some research, find some replacements, hopefully. I don't think they will, but here we go. Bringing back Trey White. We'll see. TB: Hey, it's trade day. It's not bye week. It's tray day. Sydney: you TB: So, yeah, look, I I'm gonna go back to positive. Okay. I'm done. I'm done yelling. I'm done carrying on. Let's let's go back to being positive. I do think that these are two good wins. And people can rail on the Raiders all they want. Look, the Bills went out west. They played in LA. They stayed out there instead of flying back. And then they stayed and they played in Vegas. So two road games. And I think these were both tough games. Look, you're playing all the way Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: out there, you're away from your home, your family, whatever, for two weeks. And we to come out with two wins. Yes, they were both close, but hey, we are five and one. And we talked about this at the beginning when we previewed the first six games of this season. And Mike was on the show. And I said, What record would you take going into the bye week? I think we all were like, four and two at best. Three and three if we're lucky, you know? Like It's gonna be awesome if we can finish four and two. Well, here we are, five and one. And we're all acting like the sky is falling. Yes, there's problems with the defense, and hopefully they will take this time this two weeks, maybe install some new schemes, some new things going on, maybe get an early jump on the trade deadline and go see who's available, maybe bring in another safety to get rid of 22 and and we're off and running. We already brought Trey White in. Maybe that knocks Harrison down. And lets him kinda sit off to the side and and and catch his breath and and slow play this a little bit. We have to remember with Harrison, he got hurt his rookie year. He didn't really see a ton of time. We can't expect the world of these guys. It's similar to the Keon thing. It's similar to Bryce Young. We talked about Bryce Young and Carolina Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: last week. We gotta remember these guys are young. I don't wanna use the word fragile. That's not right. and you know, you call a man fragile and then we're fighting, right? So like I don't know what word to use, but sometimes these things have a way of not happening overnight. And we got to slow play it a little bit. So maybe bringing Trey in and kind of raising your floor a little bit, and and solidifying things in the secondary isn't a bad thing. but to your point, I think IGB is gonna be okay. he just clean gotta clean up his game a little bit, but he'll learn with time. He's he's a rookie. But I think he's hungry. I think he's I think he's got the athleticism to to compete out there. So maybe the bye week's a good thing. And then we get we get rested up. And and think about it this way: we sat two of our main players, Ed Ed Oliver and DJ Moore. We held them out. I think more of per of a precaution. If this was the Super Bowl last Sunday, I think both those guys would have been in the game. Sydney: Yeah, I agree. TB: So we held them out. We came out with two W's. Now we get the bye week. We're gonna be fully rested. Healthy, ready to go and and and get back to high mark and play the Ravens. I I think we are in great shape. Great shape. What what are your thoughts? Sydney: Do we bring back Milano? TB: That's one name. Sydney: He's not on a team. I mean, it's gotta be better than nothing. TB: What does he do in his in his life? Does he have any hobbies? Like do we know anything about Milano? What what Sydney: He's a very quiet guy, but you know one thing I did see is that he's very into interior design TB: What? Sydney: Do you? TB: What's he designing? Sydney: his house. TB: How many houses this guy got? Sydney: I think he only has one, but... TB: Is he does he have a family? Like I don't this is w he's one of Sydney: I don't think, no I don't think. TB: the strangest guys that you'll ever have on a team. You don't know anything about him. Maybe he's like a secret agent. Sydney: You don't know a thing about him. A thing. TB: Maybe that would be a good series. Agent Milano. Sydney: But I mean like do we bring him back? I mean, he's not doing anything. He'll take like a mil. He'll take like two mil. He's TB: I don't know if Sydney: not we're not asking the world like we just need some help TB: maybe he don't want to play because we haven't heard anything. Sydney: I don't think that's the case. TB: I don't know. Well, we got Shaq Thompson on the practice squad. He played great for us last year. He's chilling on the practice squad, so he's ready to go. I don't know. Sydney: then he's coming back from a neck injury. TB: No, he's he's he's good. He's good. I I could see him coming in and taking over for Sydney: I TB: Terrell Bernard. Sydney: God yeah, he sucks. Seriously, he's terrible. But I'm saying TB: So Sydney: like, he wants a job? You're gonna turn down a mill? TB: Maybe you don't want a job. Maybe he's decorating up a storm. Sydney: Alright, I don't know. Just throwing it out there. I got a jersey TB: But yeah, I think the buy Sydney: collecting dust. TB: Big time for this buy, good time for the bye, get get some of the defensive. Look, we don't we don't need to be fantastic at everything, but we need to kind of be a little bit better. Like either either we got to get the pass rush rocking and rolling, or we need to tighten up the secondary. They can't both be terrible. and then when you have two linebackers that are just kind of running around pointing at each other like the scare girl from Wizard of Oz, like I don't know what the hell's going on. So anyway. Can can they realistically get better in two weeks? We shall see. And maybe Lamar, his ankle is, you know, fixed. Who knows what the heck he's doing. So we shall see. But hey, this I think this off it's it's scary if you think about it, that the biggest, you know, influx of talent with DJ Moore, the biggest signing we had on the offensive side of the ball, hasn't even played, basically. And we're still scoring mid-30s every game. So You can see that the offense has room to improve. So we could come out and fire up 40 to 45 points a week. And that wouldn't shop wouldn't surprise me. So that's what I think the capability Sydney: Yeah, that's true. TB: we have. it's just can the defense tighten it up just a little? Can they get can they get 25% better? Because if you give me, you hold the opposing team to 22 to 24 points a game, I'm happy. Sydney: yeah, 100%. Yeah, I mean they're scoring too much. That's perfect. Perfect by me. TB: So we only need to score twenty eight to win that week. All right. Anything else? Anything else about the Bills? We're gonna we're gonna have to come up yeah, Sydney: See you two weeks. TB: we're gonna have to come up with something because we're gonna take a little break from the standard the standard fare. So we'll we'll come up with some craziness for next next week's pod and just have more fun. But let's talk some cards, let's talk some hobby, hobby marks, hobby enthusiasts, you're on the clock. How are we feeling? I'll tell you how I'm feeling. I was trying to be positive. I was super excited because it's a big week in the card market, a lot of stuff coming out. We got Stadium Club WWE debut. That's going to be a huge product. We got yep, just hit, just hit today, folks. brand new Heritage. We talked about this a couple weeks ago, arrived in the mail. Your boy's gonna open this later. Can't wait to see that. We got GPK Garbage Pail Kit Halloween. we're gonna talk about that in a few minutes. But one of the things I was so looking forward to was Topps Chrome Football. The pre-sale came up. This week, I can't remember if it was Monday, Tuesday. I don't I don't even remember. I think it was Monday. So the pre-sale comes up. They do this EQL. I think we've talked about the EQL. If you do you remember what this is? Sydney: We've talked about it, but I don't know what it stands for. TB: If if you wanna buy, you basically put your name in and it's like a lotto. And whoever Sydney: Mm. TB: gets drawn from the lucky magical hat, you get to purchase the product. Well, I was super excited, so I logged in and to see what the damage was gonna be, and I just got so instantly pissed off with the prices of this product. my gosh. So I'm gonna pull this up. I'm gonna share this. I was so mad. And you tell me what you think. So we're gonna start low. Can you see the screen? So we have in the middle. So the the poster boy is our is our is our guy, JA17. He is the cover athlete for 2026 tops chrome football. Excuse me. And so we have three products here. Now these are your lower end retail purchases that you can basically go to the store and buy in whenever this product actually hits the shelves. So you have a mega box. Which is all the way on I don't know why they have this thing wrapped in this f cellophane or whatever. It looks Sydney: Yeah. TB: stupid. Not sure what that is. What does that say there? Under mega box. Sydney: It says $79.99. TB: $79.99 for a mega box. And you know how many cards you get in this thing? Seven cards per pack. Six packs per box. I'm no math whiz, but seven times six is 42. 42 cards for 80 bucks. We're we're looking at right around $5 a card. Are you kidding me? So let's go to the next, the next option. We have all the way to the right the hanger box. Now they were kind enough to remove the price, but I remember what it was. It was like $24.99 for a hanger box, which I've never seen before in my life. And that you only get 14 cards. Then we have this so-called value box here in the middle. This is what most people end up buying. You can get this like your Walmarts, your targets, that sort of deal. $45 for 28 cards in a value box. $45. But it doesn't stop there because I was interested in a hobby box. The freaking hobby box of Tops Chrome football was listed for 440 effing dollars. And it's like 80 cards. 80 cards. And I'm like, that's five dollars and fifty cents a card for Tops Chrome. Are you serious? I was so mad about this, like so mad. A jumbo box, which you are guaranteed like one autograph and two other things. So you could sometimes hit two autographs. and then get like a memorabilia card. $790. $800 for a freaking jumbo hobby box. And I'm like, how is this okay? What what are we doing? This is supposed to be, and I will show you here some of the cards here. I'm I might have showed you these before, but these are these are what the cards look like. So it looks just like Topps flagship football, which came out earlier, except these are made on chrome paper. So the design is absolutely the same. Sydney: Yeah. TB: And these are this the these are the cards. They're just on chrome stock. And I'm like, in what world should we be paying this kind of prices for this? And it just infuriated me. Infuriated me. As someone who is a big fan of the hobby, who from time to time likes to buy product. I mean, I haven't bought a product in ages. But Topps Heritage came out and I was like, it's like $129. Sure, I'm in. That sounds awesome. I love heritage. I love the way the design looks. It's gonna be fun. Chrome. I I always like Chrome. I love Chrome baseball. So why not? Let's jump in. Are you kidding me? There's no chance in hell I'm spending four hundred fifty dollars on a box, a hobby box on eighty freaking cards of tops chrome football. Am I crazy? Am I losing my mind? Help me out here. Sydney: No. That's a rent payment. A literal rent payment. I would never pay that much money for cards. I'm sorry. TB: Now I get it. Like there's some products that come out that are super high end and you're you're guaranteed you're going after like the big time chases and they got awesome looks and awesome autos and stuff. But like what are we talking about? Some of the names on the checklist for an auto, it's it's it's terrible. Like, could I get a Josh Allen card? Sure. I could also pull a Skyler Bell autograph. Do I want? A Skyler Bell and I'm just talking bills. Am I gonna be more than pissed off if I drop f near 500 bones on a hobby box and I pull a Skylar Bell autograph card? I'm gonna be furious. Sydney: Yeah, well they're scamming you. Truly. TB: man. I don't know. Sydney: That's kind of what it is. I mean, if people are buying it, they know that people are gonna buy it. TB: they're gonna buy it because we've talked about this before. Top's got the license back for NFL and they're off and running. And now it's but this is supposed to be, and I get it, like for baseball, Chrome is a little more expensive than the flagship base product. Just a little though. Let's not go insane. I think when baseball came out, the the Chrome hobby box was probably two eighty to two ninety. This is almost double that. Almost double that. And I'm like How is this justified? This is not okay. And $800 for a jumbo box and they sold out instantly. And I'm like, what? What is going on? Okay, let me let me. I found it. I finally found some of the autographs. now some of these guys are good. I I I will I will say, I will say that. So Christian McCaffrey. who else is good? You can get James Cook. We all know how he signs his cards, JC. Jamar Chase, sure. but tell me, are you gonna be happy if you drop 800 and you pull a Ty Simpson autograph card? You're gonna be happy with that? How about how about Xavier Worthy? You gonna be happy with that? Sydney: Hell no. The guy who hasn't even played a snap? No thank you. No. TB: How about Jordan Tyson? I don't even know what position he plays. Do you? Sydney: Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. I would rather spend that elsewhere. TB: He's a rookie for the Saints. What position does he play? Is he a wide receiver? And maybe there's probably going to be people screaming at me. he's a blah, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, well, he must not be that good because I've never heard of this guy. now, Brock Bowers, okay. Bo Nicks, Bryce Young, Carnell Tate, Caleb Williams, Cam Ward? Yeah. How much is a Cam Ward auto sell reselling for? Here it's Sydney: Four bucks. TB: four bucks. Jackson Dart, the dude can't can't get out of the medical tent. Jaden Daniels, we all love JD5. You know, gotta be careful, tread lightly. But how much am I really gonna think a Jaden a Jaden Daniels autographed card is gonna go for right now? Are you kidding me? What what's he gonna be of his arm and a sling on the card? I mean, what the hell are we talking about here? Brees Hall, he can't stay on the field. Sydney: You TB: Brian Brian Thomas Junior, he's the subject of every single trade rumor for the last twenty four months. Sydney: He's awful. He's got to be one of the worst players in the NFL right now. He's so bad. He might get cut. TB: Daniel Jones? Daniel Jones? Do you want a Daniel Jones auto for the Colts? They just fired their general manager. Are you kidding me? I mean, Dawson Knox. Gotta love him. Like, I have a cat named after him. But how much is this autograph worth? $299? Like three bucks? Are you kidding me? man. I could go on and on and on and on. This is crazy to me. Crazy to me. Taysom Hill? Well, here's your boy, Trevor Lawrence, Terry McLaurin. Well, he just lost his leg. Like he's a practical amputee now. What are we gonna do with that autograph? I'm like, my gosh. Woody Marks? I mean, Anquan Bolden, are you kidding me? He he hasn't played in how many years? I know he had a good career, but holy cow. I I don't know. I don't know. So, so freaking frustrated. I love collecting cards, but when a regular hobby box that's supposed to be an affordable product for the masses starts at 440, this is starting because this is not what you're even going to be able to buy it for because this was presale prices. So this is the lowest of the low. That 440 is now at least Sydney: That's unreal. TB: 575, 650 guaranteed. The 790 jumbo, you go to your local hobby shop when they get it, it's going to easily be 900 to $1,000. Easily, how does that not make me want to walk away from Sydney: That's absolutely insane. TB: the hobby that I love? It just makes me so frustrated. I'm like, this is ridiculous. And the people that are like, Sydney: Yeah. TB: I'm gonna forego paying four of my bills in exchange to buy a hobby box, and then I'm gonna pull standby, I'm gonna pull a wait for it. A Caleb Johnson auto card. Who's that? Sydney: Who was that? TB: He's on the Steelers. all you Steel Curtain fans are gonna come at me like Caleb Johnson, he's amazing. He's worth $9,000. I'm like, get out of here with this nonsense. This is so frustrating. I have no idea. No idea. Caleb Johnson, Sydney: Who is that? Never heard of that. TB: Pittsburgh Steelers. He's stuck between Kyle Hamilton of the Ravens, who I love. I love Kyle Hamilton. I would trade half my team for him right now. And Kyle Juzczyk of the 49ers, who also can't stay on the field. So Sydney: Yeah. TB: I don't know. It's like I got into this to talk about these hobbies because I love them and because they're fun. And we always talk about the fun factor. But man, I used to hate spending a hundred and fifty bucks or two hundred bucks on something and then getting nothing out of it. Can you imagine I drop eight hundred on this and get nothing out of it? I don't know. Sydney: I would not want to be hearing your response to that on the pod. TB: And I know, look, we we we used to do a segment if money were no object and we haven't we haven't in quite some time. But I can't even say that this is a goodbye. Like you you know, we come up with goodbye or nah. This is a nah. Like, are you Sydney: You TB: kidding me? This is the first nah on the program. So here we go. Goodbye or nah. I'm I'm telling you. I don't even need your response. This is a nah. We're gonna splice this up and that's going on TikTok. It's a nah. I don't know. I don't know what to say anymore. I'm I lost my freaking mind. Sydney: Yeah, no, that's... that's... no. TB: I lost my mind. And the other thing, Topps is so good with this. They don't tell you how much it costs until you're ready to go. So they're like, it's just gonna go live at Noon on Monday. And they don't tell you anything until it's noon on Monday. So you fight all the bots and you get you signed in. And then you're like, ooh, buy, buy, buy. Add it to the cart. Add it to the cart. And you go to the cart and you got your you already got your credit card in there. And it's like, yes, it will cost you six million dollars. And you're like, well, I Sydney: you TB: don't I don't know what to do. Guess I gotta go pay six million dollars. And people get this FOMO and they can't back out of it because they made all this. like time and investment and you know they're all pent up and so they're like bye bye bye bye and next thing you know they can't they're living on the street. But thank God you got your your Javante Williams auto to keep your company at night. my Sydney: Okay. TB: gosh. I don't know. I think I I think I think I'm done. I don't know. What you got for Sydney: you TB: me? Talk me off the ledge. I can't I can't do this anymore. Just Sydney: I don't know. I would never buy that for I've been saying that for months though I would not buy cards no matter what unless it's Perry the plot of pleasure. Dr. Doof I'm not buying I'm not TB: Yeah. Sydney: buying it and I'm not buying dr. Doof for 800. I'm not doing it. So it's TB: It's like Sydney: just not for me and I just to spend that much on like a piece of paper. It just seems like a lot but that's just me and I understand that people like are really passionate about this stuff, but I mean, like you said, is a Caleb Johnson card gonna resell for more than $800? Like, it's not. So it's, not even making your money back. TB: I I just to Otonga Loa, he's got an autograph in this. Are you kidding me? The guy don't even want to be on the field. He literally would rather go I don't know, any do anything. Put puzzles together on the sidelines. Sydney: I don't even know if he can sign his name at this point. Someone probably had to do it for him. So like you just never know. Like you never know. I just don't, I'm not gonna, you know, it's like roulette. I'm not playing that. TB: Yes, you could hit the most amazing card. I could pull a Josh Allen card and it could be worth ten thousand dollars. I understand that. I could go in basketball and I could get a LeBron or I could get a Victor Wemby and I could I could get all these guys and sure. Could could I get it? Of course I could. but it's just like the lotto, right? It's just like gambling. It's just like betting, doing whatever. Like this is what it's become. It's not fun anymore. And that's what it it's it's so frustrating because I love. I loved getting back in the in the hobby. I loved I loved collecting. I loved trying to put sets together and do fun things like that. But this makes me want to take the three T's and slash a T and go to the two T's because I don't even want to talk about this stuff. It's maddening to me. It's just maddening. But there's hope. There's hope. You ready? You wanna know why there's hope? Sydney: is yeah. TB: Because I gotta, I'm gonna show you one more thing. Because I'm done with tops Chrome and I swear this might be it though, because if they Topps is verifying if I'm a bot right now. You see what I'm talking about? If this is a failure, then I'm out. Because here we go. Sydney: Okay. TB: 2026 Garbage Pale Kids Halloween. Tomorrow Sydney: Yeah TB: they can redeem themselves because at noon tomorrow we're gonna try this again. Where they got one more shot because they're doing another EQL. Of course, there's no prices on here, but look, I love Garbage Pell Kids cards. I'll be the first to tell you. and Halloween is awesome. So the combination of the two could be, I mean, the fun factor on something like this, it's through the roof. It's through the roof. But are these gonna come out and be seven billion dollars? I I don't know. What do you what do you think of these cards here? Sydney: I think they're cool. don't like who's signing them. TB: So these are the artists. Sydney: Hmm. So was this like something that you had when you were growing TB: garbage mail kids were huge. Huge. They caused Sydney: Okay. TB: quite a stir. So the nostalgia factor, we talked about nostalgia factor, nostalgia factor on GPK cards, for me, this is my jam right here. Like this is what I grew up on. When these debuted, these were all their age. Kids were bringing these to school and getting in trouble because the they were gross and the teachers didn't like and people would get them confiscated. And it was like this was like drug dealing before, you know, like It was crazy. Like you could get in serious trouble if you brought garbage pail kids to to some schools back in the day. but now as a forty-seven-year-old man, Sydney: Mmm, okay. But yeah, they're really neat. TB: I look back at this stuff and I laugh and it's fun and it's enjoyable. And you know, that's that's what I like about the hobby. So tomorrow at noon, they got one more shot. If this comes out at like six hundred dollars, it's it. I I don't know if I'm gonna be we might rename this podcast. So I'm just letting you know. Sydney: Okay, well that's fair. I would understand if that was the case. TB: It's just so frustrating because we're not made of money. And it it's just I don't know where people have the money. There's so many products that came out this week. So much to be excited about. I'm really psyched about the Stadium Club WWE. Stadium Club is historically a really cool photography centered product. it's great. It's been around for decades and the art the not artwork, but the photography on it just always puts the the performer, the athlete in a different like light. And I love the way that looks. So I think that's gonna be cool. But yeah, yeah, we'll see. I just you can't expect people to shell out thousands and thousands of dollars for when you release all these products in in a five day span. It's just it's ridiculous. So I don't know. Sydney: Yeah agreed I would never spend that never TB: I wanted to stay positive, but I ended up probably having one of my biggest rants in quite some time. So there it is. I I'm done. I'm tired. Sydney: It was enjoyable. You did it for the people. TB: the people need to know. The people need to know that the three Ts aren't gonna stand for these shenanigans. Sydney: No, he's not playing. TB: I mean it's like we're we're in the ring, we're battling with tops, and then Mr. Brightside plays and Sydney comes down to the ring and she's slow walking and she takes tops out and it's one, two, three. Sydney: Exactly. They didn't see what was TB: And that's how Sydney: coming. TB: that's how we put that's that's how you wrap this thing full circle up. You got anything else? Sydney: Mm-hmm, exactly. No, I think that was good. Yeah, me too. TB: 'Cause I'm exhausted. All right. Sydney: Thanks TB: Well, I think that's gonna do it. Think it's gonna put a bow on this episode of the three Ts. Your boy ranted a little bit. That's okay. That's okay because it's all about emotion here on this podcast. You gotta feel something. If you're not feeling something, why do any of this stuff, right? That's why I go crazy over this team. I go crazy over wrestling and I go crazy over collecting. So if you don't feel nothing, then you shouldn't be doing any of these hobbies. Am I wrong? Sydney: Yep, exactly. Nope, not at all. TB: All right. So good job. That was awesome. Had a lot of fun. for the listening audience, do us a favor, hit the like, hit the subscribe, pass it on to someone who loves one of these three awesome hobbies, just like we do. It would help us out a great deal. So for Sydney, I'm your boy TB. Thanks as always for joining us. go Bills, and we will see you later. Sydney: See you later!
