- 0:00Speaker 1: Mr. New York, Mark Simone, 710WOR. Well, welcome to hour
- 0:07Speaker 1: number two. That's right. We start at 9 a.m. now.
- 0:10Speaker 1: This is hour number two. A lot to get to
- 0:14Speaker 1: this hour. We'll get to Howard Stern. We'll get to
- 0:17Speaker 1: Pierce Brosnan. We'll get to Crazy Mom Donnie and more.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Price of oil, let me just check, $ 103 a barrel.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Very high. $ 103 a barrel. It's very high. That's the
- 0:32Speaker 1: American oil, WTI. The Brent crude, the rest of the
- 0:35Speaker 1: world uses. $ 107. Very, very, very high. That's a spike.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's a big spike. Now, the reason for that is
- 0:43Speaker 1: Iran has brought back the Houthis. You know, they have Hezbollah.
- 0:49Speaker 1: They have the Houthis. They have all these terrorist organizations.
- 0:52Speaker 1: They fund finance. And the Houthis are back. Iran funding them.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Who knows who else is helping them. But the Houthis
- 1:00Speaker 1: have taken action. Iran doesn't have much military left. Can't
- 1:05Speaker 1: do much. They got a missile or two, a drone
- 1:07Speaker 1: or two. But the Houthis may have been supplied by somebody.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And the Houthis hit a Saudi pipeline and knocked out
- 1:16Speaker 1: a Saudi pipeline. It's out of business. That pipeline carried
- 1:19Speaker 1: 7 million barrels a day to the port of Yambu,
- 1:23Speaker 1: which is on the Red Sea. So the hooties hit
- 1:27Speaker 1: the pipeline, knocking that out. They're also trying to seize
- 1:32Speaker 1: control of the Red Sea. Iran-backed hooties controlling the coastline
- 1:37Speaker 1: now of the Red Sea. So that's the other way
- 1:40Speaker 1: for oil to get out. So the Strait of Hormuz,
- 1:42Speaker 1: not actually closed. We're getting about 4 million barrels a
- 1:45Speaker 1: day out of there. It's supposed to be 20. So
- 1:48Speaker 1: it's slightly open. But the Red Sea, which is the
- 1:51Speaker 1: other way out, the hooties have tightened their grip. They
- 1:54Speaker 1: grabbed a hold of that shipping route. That's why the
- 1:57Speaker 1: price of oil suddenly spiked, and that could give Iran
- 2:00Speaker 1: a tremendous advantage in the war. Houthi armed forces boasted
- 2:05Speaker 1: of their gains and vowed an escalation for escalation and
- 2:10Speaker 1: declared that they'll allow maritime navigation except for the Saudis,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and that's who we need for the oil. Saudi Prince said,
- 2:21Speaker 1: Mohammed bin Salman, he called President Trump twice to urge
- 2:25Speaker 1: him to launch U.S. strikes against the Houthis. Now, I
- 2:28Speaker 1: don't know what the president is up to, but so
- 2:32Speaker 1: far he's not taken any action against the Houthis. Saudi
- 2:36Speaker 1: is the world's largest oil exporter. You don't want them
- 2:39Speaker 1: cut off. And right now the president is not doing
- 2:43Speaker 1: anything at the moment. So what we need, obviously, is
- 2:46Speaker 1: just to wipe out these Houthis. Just wipe them out.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Just Kill them all if you have to. Just blow
- 2:53Speaker 1: up everything they have now. I don't know why the
- 2:55Speaker 1: president's holding back on this. It could be maybe he
- 2:58Speaker 1: just wants to wait for the midterms to be. I
- 3:00Speaker 1: don't know. And by the way, if you're Iran, no
- 3:04Speaker 1: matter what happens, even if the Iran strategy is wait
- 3:08Speaker 1: for the midterms, stall and pray the Democrats win the midterms.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But here's your problem if you're Iran. If the Democrats
- 3:15Speaker 1: win the midterms, they don't take office till January. So
- 3:19Speaker 1: from early November till early January, that's two months. So
- 3:24Speaker 1: I'd imagine if the Democrats win that what President Trump
- 3:28Speaker 1: would do in those two months is just bomb the
- 3:31Speaker 1: hell out of Iran, just completely knock out everything before
- 3:36Speaker 1: the Democrats take office. Hooties as well. So it's probably
- 3:42Speaker 1: not your best strategy waiting till November. It's probably not
- 3:44Speaker 1: going to help you. Well, hopefully the president does something.
- 3:48Speaker 1: He is mad at Saudi Arabia. I don't know exactly
- 3:50Speaker 1: what's going on there. But again, Saudi head calling him frantically.
- 3:56Speaker 1: President still doing nothing. And apparently, he's getting ready to
- 4:00Speaker 1: release the Saudi Arabia 9-11 files. Many people believe the
- 4:04Speaker 1: Saudis either had something to do with the 9-11 attacks
- 4:08Speaker 1: or knew about it ahead of time and didn't warn us.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But there are files on that. It's about 3,000 pages.
- 4:16Speaker 1: They've been hushed up by Bush, by Clinton, by everybody's
- 4:20Speaker 1: been hushing these things up. Oh, actually, it wouldn't be Clinton.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It would be Bush. It would be Obama. It would
- 4:25Speaker 1: be Biden hushing this all up. But President Trump talking
- 4:29Speaker 1: about releasing it, maybe that's to push the Saudis to
- 4:33Speaker 1: do something. There was a memo, September 2010 FBI memo
- 4:38Speaker 1: in there that says two employees, two terrorists had a
- 4:44Speaker 1: past connection to... Saudis into the hijack, two Saudi employees
- 4:49Speaker 1: connected to the hijack. I don't know. It doesn't it
- 4:52Speaker 1: sounds pretty flimsy, but they like to release files. It
- 4:56Speaker 1: could be like the Epstein files. You know, we're all
- 4:58Speaker 1: waiting for those to wait till you get these Epstein files.
- 5:01Speaker 1: It was basically nothing in them, really nothing. Supreme Court
- 5:05Speaker 1: decision going against the president. He wanted to restrict the
- 5:09Speaker 1: mail in ballots, put some controls on it. The mail-in
- 5:12Speaker 1: balloting is out of control. Every expert agrees mail-in ballots
- 5:17Speaker 1: are nothing but fraud. Even that study that was, remember
- 5:20Speaker 1: that big study, Jimmy Carter and Howard Baker, Republican and
- 5:24Speaker 1: Democrat joint study. And that was their conclusion that the
- 5:28Speaker 1: mail-in ballot is nothing. It's just completely open to fraud
- 5:32Speaker 1: and deceit and all sorts of stuff. So they wanted
- 5:36Speaker 1: to control that, put some restrictions on it. Supreme Court
- 5:39Speaker 1: rejected it. So the decision allows states to continue sending
- 5:43Speaker 1: out mail-in ballots under the same process they've been using,
- 5:46Speaker 1: which is not a good one. Now, why would the
- 5:50Speaker 1: Supreme Court allow this? Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas tried to
- 5:55Speaker 1: vote on the president's side. But it was Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
- 5:59Speaker 1: He just argued that there was no way to get
- 6:02Speaker 1: these restrictions into effect for the midterms. It's just a
- 6:05Speaker 1: matter of weeks. There was no way to put them
- 6:07Speaker 1: in effect for weeks. And he did signal. that after
- 6:12Speaker 1: the election, the president should bring it back to the
- 6:15Speaker 1: Supreme Court and they'll probably rule in his favor. But
- 6:17Speaker 1: he just said it was impossible, just impossible to get
- 6:20Speaker 1: it done in time for the midterms. So, hey, remember Butler, Pennsylvania,
- 6:26Speaker 1: that assassin Thomas Crooks, documents being released about him. You know,
- 6:32Speaker 1: this was something weird about the cover-up of this assassination.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Whenever there's an assassination, whether it's Lee Harvey Oswald or
- 6:39Speaker 1: whoever it is, The next day, you start reading all
- 6:42Speaker 1: about him. Reporters are all over the guy, his family,
- 6:45Speaker 1: talking to the neighbor. They gather everything. They get you
- 6:47Speaker 1: his whole history. But after Butler, Pennsylvania, you never heard
- 6:51Speaker 1: a word about this shooter. Nothing. Nothing came out about him. Well,
- 6:57Speaker 1: there are some FBI documents. Apparently, they did look into it.
- 6:59Speaker 1: President Trump had them look into it. His name was
- 7:02Speaker 1: Thomas Matthew Crooks. He was born in 2003. His father
- 7:07Speaker 1: said when he was born, his father said he was
- 7:10Speaker 1: totally emotionless, never had any emotion. Even as a baby,
- 7:13Speaker 1: never cried. Even when he was born, didn't scream, didn't cry.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Was always quiet, never made a sound. Even in school,
- 7:22Speaker 1: had trouble talking to anybody, trouble talking to the teachers.
- 7:25Speaker 1: He said the quietness, the lack of emotion became more
- 7:29Speaker 1: noticeable over the years. He said despite his lack of
- 7:33Speaker 1: social skills or street smarts, He was a very good student.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He got a 1400 on his first SAT. Later improved
- 7:41Speaker 1: to a near perfect 1500. Whoa. I think I got
- 7:47Speaker 1: a 600. He started getting into shooting and guns as
- 7:51Speaker 1: a teenager. Had no interest in being an outdoorsman or hunting.
- 7:55Speaker 1: He just got interested in guns and shooting. Was not
- 7:59Speaker 1: good at it. kept missing the target completely, but he
- 8:04Speaker 1: worked hard four or five years of practice before he
- 8:06Speaker 1: could do that. And eventually with practice, he became a marksman.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And then the father said, this kid is ordering everything
- 8:14Speaker 1: on Amazon for guns. He's figuring out how to increase
- 8:18Speaker 1: the power of his guns, increase everything. Somebody should have
- 8:23Speaker 1: gotten suspicious here. He practiced shooting from long range over
- 8:28Speaker 1: a hundred yards. He kept practicing long range shooting. So
- 8:30Speaker 1: who knows what, what he was thinking. He wasn't, they
- 8:33Speaker 1: don't think very political. He didn't like Biden. He didn't
- 8:39Speaker 1: like Trump. They just think he didn't like politicians. He
- 8:43Speaker 1: got more and more into guns. He bought a prism site,
- 8:45Speaker 1: eventually became very knowledgeable about how to measure and zero
- 8:49Speaker 1: in on a target, frightening stuff. But, and again, he
- 8:55Speaker 1: had very little social media. Normally you'd learn a lot
- 8:58Speaker 1: about this guy, But it's just slowly coming out. Hey,
- 9:03Speaker 1: Howard Stern, trying to do a little spin here, a
- 9:05Speaker 1: little damage control. Howard Stern, you know, when he went
- 9:08Speaker 1: over to Sirius, had millions of listeners. And the last
- 9:11Speaker 1: few years, it dwindled down to a couple hundred thousand.
- 9:16Speaker 1: And they just kept reducing his money. You know, he
- 9:19Speaker 1: started at $ 100 million a year. And he just kept reducing, reducing, reducing.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Every time they'd give him a huge pay cut, he
- 9:25Speaker 1: would compromise by instead of five days a week, three
- 9:28Speaker 1: days a week. Instead of 52 weeks a year, 26
- 9:31Speaker 1: weeks a year. Now it's down to one day a week,
- 9:35Speaker 1: maybe half the year. One day a week, maybe half
- 9:39Speaker 1: the year. So now it's down to just about nothing.
- 9:44Speaker 1: So Stern putting out, finally doing an interview, which he
- 9:46Speaker 1: doesn't usually do. He only does this when he wants
- 9:48Speaker 1: to spin something. But he said, Sirius has been phenomenal
- 9:52Speaker 1: with me. I was going to retire. I was going
- 9:55Speaker 1: to leave the business. They begged me to stay. They said,
- 9:58Speaker 1: what can we do to keep you here? And he said,
- 10:01Speaker 1: how about one day? I don't think this is at
- 10:03Speaker 1: all what happened. I don't think this is the way
- 10:05Speaker 1: it went. But this is his version of it. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 1: they took away one of his channels. So he tries
- 10:11Speaker 1: to spin this a little. Yeah, I left Howard 101
- 10:13Speaker 1: because I didn't want the responsibility of it anymore. It
- 10:16Speaker 1: was too much work. There was a whole staff running it.
- 10:21Speaker 1: By the way, they've gotten rid of the staff. They've
- 10:23Speaker 1: been laying off all his people. He had a huge
- 10:26Speaker 1: office and studio complex at Sirius. Apparently, that's being dismantled.
- 10:29Speaker 1: They'll probably keep one studio, but most of it is
- 10:31Speaker 1: being dismantled. He didn't say how long he expects to
- 10:35Speaker 1: keep doing this one-day-a-week arrangement. We'll see. Bruce Blakeman, we
- 10:40Speaker 1: want to see him become governor. One thing he's promising
- 10:42Speaker 1: now is to end Hochul's war on drivers. by killing
- 10:48Speaker 1: all these stupid green mandates, you know, and he's going
- 10:52Speaker 1: to get rid of the congestion pricing. Also, you know,
- 10:56Speaker 1: Hochul's got this law she passed a couple of years
- 10:58Speaker 1: ago that by 2035, you can't drive a gas car anymore.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely insane. He's going to cancel all that.
- 11:07Speaker 1: So you need to vote for Bruce Blakeman to help
- 11:11Speaker 1: fix things. Anyway, we've got a lot coming up. We'll
- 11:13Speaker 1: take some calls. 800-321-8000. 800-321-0710. Don't forget, I'm here nine
- 11:19Speaker 1: to noon every day. 800-321-0710.
