- 0:00Speaker 1: Trending. Now here's what you need to know.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Well, this is just fun.
- 0:05Speaker 3: I love a West Virgo High School is utilizing TikTok
- 0:08Speaker 3: to stay connected with students and family, and it's getting
- 0:10Speaker 3: a lot of attention. I think this is a great
- 0:13Speaker 3: way for them to not only be funny, but interactive
- 0:16Speaker 3: with the kids.
- 0:16Speaker 2: So what ended up happening.
- 0:18Speaker 3: The assistant principal says, it started with a joke, so
- 0:20Speaker 3: they didn't think it would ever come to this, But
- 0:23Speaker 3: at the beginning of the school year, they have these
- 0:24Speaker 3: mobile desks and they did this TikTok.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Oh, it's good they see me rolling.
- 0:30Speaker 3: You know that jam and the Alienaires ride in Dirty
- 0:33Speaker 3: yet ah huh. And they had their mobile desks as
- 0:35Speaker 3: they were going through the hall and then they ended
- 0:38Speaker 3: up having the uh school resource officers on scooters that
- 0:42Speaker 3: they had collected that they weren't supposed to have some
- 0:44Speaker 3: of the kids, and they were doing hallway sweeps through there.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Just it's just good times. They see me rolling.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I can imagine, Amanda. I haven't seen the actual
- 0:54Speaker 4: short film, but you got to check it.
- 0:56Speaker 2: It would be funny. You know, that's good.
- 0:58Speaker 4: It's better than like the principal wrapping the announcements like
- 1:02Speaker 4: that old tired bit.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I just like that.
- 1:06Speaker 3: It's creating a positive school culture, and that's what they're
- 1:08Speaker 3: trying to do, you know, make everybody real and have
- 1:11Speaker 3: fun and you know, just enjoyable. We need a little
- 1:15Speaker 3: bit more of that. Did your high school ever have
- 1:17Speaker 3: a viral TikTok? No, we didn't have TikTok back then.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Did you have goodness? Did you ever have a viral VHS?
- 1:26Speaker 3: No, Pike did not have a viral VHS.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, this name.
- 1:33Speaker 3: You probably haven't heard in a while. Tiger Kingstar Joe Exotic.
- 1:36Speaker 3: He's apparently optimistic he's going to be released from jail
- 1:39Speaker 3: in the next year. His attorney reports that there's a
- 1:41Speaker 3: good chance he's going to be acquitted because they've got
- 1:43Speaker 3: some new evidence and with an immediate release if a
- 1:47Speaker 3: ree child's even regranted.
- 1:49Speaker 2: But it's not gonna here this all the time.
- 1:51Speaker 4: I just saw we're watching Good Morning America in here,
- 1:53Speaker 4: and I just saw it flash that, you know, a
- 1:55Speaker 4: new push for the Menendez brothers to be released.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm like, well, that's not gonna happen either. Also just
- 2:00Speaker 2: finished that Oh last.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Night, jeez, you elp frogged me because I was the
- 2:04Speaker 4: one telling you to watch it, and here we haven't
- 2:05Speaker 4: even finished.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah monsters on Netflix.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Wows, I have probably twenty minutes left of the last episode. Okay, gee,
- 2:14Speaker 3: I did not know any of that story.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Oh is that? Well that's fun to go.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Yes, so it was really nice to not have any
- 2:19Speaker 3: backgrounds on that. But yeah, that's one of those I
- 2:22Speaker 3: don't know what feelings I have, you know after.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Watching it, Well, it definitely you know, it paints him
- 2:29Speaker 4: as like liars for sure, right.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Well, the one and then the other.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I don't know, like I just I mean, I think
- 2:34Speaker 3: they just killed their parents. I'm just a basket of
- 2:37Speaker 3: emotions with that one. I haven't let a process. But
- 2:39Speaker 3: let's go back to Joe Exotic. Apparently when he gets
- 2:41Speaker 3: out of jail, he really wants to bring his talents
- 2:44Speaker 3: to college. He certainly has a lot of knowledge, according
- 2:47Speaker 3: to his attorney, and would love to speak and give
- 2:51Speaker 3: some good lectures like I'm lions and stuff and tigers
- 2:56Speaker 3: and tigers and maybe even some bears.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Oh my, nice, I did say lions. I meant tiger.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Sorry, Yeah, I'm sure those two species are used to
- 3:08Speaker 4: getting mixed mixed up.
- 3:10Speaker 2: A little bit, all right.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I don't want to skip Halloween, but there's another big
- 3:13Speaker 3: holiday coming, and it's stressful for a lot of people,
- 3:16Speaker 3: especially if you're hosting Thanksgiving. One of the main reasons
- 3:19Speaker 3: it's stressful is because you're the one preparing all the
- 3:21Speaker 3: food and that big dog, you know, the turkey, big dog,
- 3:24Speaker 3: the big dog. When you have to cook the turkey,
- 3:26Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of pressure for it. And
- 3:28Speaker 3: butter Ball is making everybody happy. I saw this all
- 3:32Speaker 3: over the internet yesterday. They introduced a new solution and
- 3:34Speaker 3: it is called a cook from frozen premium whole turkey.
- 3:38Speaker 3: You don't have to thought, you don't have to brind it,
- 3:41Speaker 3: you don't have to clean it. You have everything done
- 3:45Speaker 3: in the butter Ball frozen whole premium turkey and you
- 3:49Speaker 3: just toss her on and it's already brined the flavors there.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I don't know how it's gonna be.
- 3:54Speaker 3: But uh, do you still have to reach your hand
- 3:57Speaker 3: up in its rear and pull out the gizzard? No,
- 3:59Speaker 3: because it says that it's well, that's so fun. I
- 4:04Speaker 3: don't know if you can stuff it either, bike you're
- 4:06Speaker 3: gonna have to go check one of these butter balls
- 4:08Speaker 3: out and give it a whirl.
- 4:09Speaker 2: You have to stuff it before it goes in the oven.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah that makes sense.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Then you do people actually stuff the turkey anymore?
- 4:16Speaker 3: Well?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, stuffing with all the stuffing, I think that has
- 4:18Speaker 2: the most flavor. Really. Oh it's so good. Oh, I
- 4:21Speaker 2: can't wait for Thanksgiving? All right?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Weather today real chilly this morning. Once it warms up,
- 4:27Speaker 3: it's gonna get up to about fifty four with some sunshine,
- 4:30Speaker 3: like a.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Minute in the morning, big ninety eight point seven.
- 4:32Speaker 4: If you have a tough time falling asleep, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 4: you and me both brother, I'll tell you that there's
- 4:38Speaker 4: all kinds of tricks out there. You probably tried them.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Nothing seems to work. If you like me, the idea
- 4:43Speaker 4: of using like a trick to fall asleep, your brain
- 4:45Speaker 4: like has this auto defense mechanism where it's like, oh, no,
- 4:49Speaker 4: you're not tricking me.
- 4:51Speaker 2: What Let you watch this. We're not going to sleep
- 4:53Speaker 2: at all.
- 4:54Speaker 3: So every once in a while, if I can't fall asleep,
- 4:56Speaker 3: I'll take a little melotone in. But something about meloton
- 5:00Speaker 3: it's the dreams, it's all of it. I just don't
- 5:02Speaker 3: feel great. The next day.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Yeah, that's just it really, I mean, and that's the thing.
- 5:07Speaker 4: There's no like magic pill for sleeping. Everybody has these
- 5:10Speaker 4: different ideas, but melowtonin like for me, Yeah, the dreams
- 5:13Speaker 4: they're horrific, like very realistic, terrifying, and then you wake
- 5:17Speaker 4: up and you're like you're groggy. So it's like, what
- 5:20Speaker 4: would I rather I have just not slept or have
- 5:22Speaker 4: this horrible like hungover ground.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You're kind of feeling.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Yes, I've always found like the best thing for me
- 5:27Speaker 3: is if I don't nap throughout the day, if I
- 5:29Speaker 3: get a solid workout in and I'm just I crash.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Doesn't that sound so great to do all of that
- 5:35Speaker 2: the manna?
- 5:35Speaker 4: That sounds great? I know right last night I was
- 5:37Speaker 4: falling asleep on the couch. You probably can relate where
- 5:40Speaker 4: you're so tired, like you just want to pass out
- 5:42Speaker 4: right there. But then it's getting up and having to
- 5:44Speaker 4: go to the bed, and.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Let me guess this is gonna get wild. You curled
- 5:49Speaker 3: up in your bed wide away, Why why does this happen?
- 5:52Speaker 3: Went up the stairs and somewhere between the couch and
- 5:55Speaker 3: the bed, my whole entire you know, makeup changed. It
- 5:59Speaker 3: was ane I had said yesterday at gymnastics, and we're
- 6:03Speaker 3: just sitting up there waiting for her, and I was
- 6:05Speaker 3: doing back in high school when you're trying to keep
- 6:08Speaker 3: your eyes awake, like the head bob. I was so
- 6:11Speaker 3: tired I kept doing that. I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 6:13Speaker 3: this is so embarrassing. But yeah, then I couldn't fall
- 6:16Speaker 3: asleep last night either. It's okay. My mom used to
- 6:18Speaker 3: sleep at our baseball games. It's okay.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'll be that in the corner. So do you have
- 6:25Speaker 2: anything to help us?
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yes?
- 6:26Speaker 4: I do, man, it really it's actually gonna be quite helpful,
- 6:28Speaker 4: they say. According to some new research from Harvard. Of
- 6:31Speaker 4: all universities, Harvard, one of the best ones I'm told
- 6:35Speaker 4: said that if you simply just listen to ten minutes
- 6:38Speaker 4: of soothing sounds before bed, it will help you fall
- 6:44Speaker 4: asleep faster. Ten minutes is all you need.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I don't know why I forget about this, but I
- 6:49Speaker 3: did it for a little bit.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Thank you for this reminder.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I have the Peloton app, and there's obviously a billion
- 6:55Speaker 3: of them. Calm, there's one hundred of them, but this
- 6:57Speaker 3: one on Peloton, they have like medata, like a sleep
- 7:01Speaker 3: meditation and if I put that on, say it's a
- 7:03Speaker 3: five minute meditation, I will make it maybe two minutes.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I don't know why I don't.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I think I don't just because my husband's in there
- 7:09Speaker 3: and he's kind of a TV watcher. So for me
- 7:11Speaker 3: to just be rolled over trying to meditate to sleep,
- 7:14Speaker 3: it's a little awkward.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 2: See I do that.
- 7:18Speaker 4: And my wife like, we'll have the TV off and
- 7:19Speaker 4: I'll be listening to podcasts. Oh okay, so she gets
- 7:23Speaker 4: to listen to the sweet sounds of Green Bay Packers
- 7:25Speaker 4: analysis before bed.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Oh well, no, wonder you can't sleep at night. You're
- 7:29Speaker 3: getting all worked up over a horrible team. I'm sorry,
- 7:34Speaker 3: what did you just say? Did you watch Sunday? And
- 7:37Speaker 3: I did? I did watch Sunday? But football just in
- 7:40Speaker 3: general lately, Well, some people listen to music, like I get.
- 7:42Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 7:43Speaker 3: Man? Well the best teams on a bye week bike. Okay, See,
- 7:47Speaker 3: I can't listen to music. I think people I don't
- 7:50Speaker 3: want to use the word psychopath, but people who listen
- 7:52Speaker 3: to like upbeat music to fall asleep like that.
- 7:55Speaker 2: No, there's too much emotion in that. I get. If
- 7:57Speaker 2: it's like an instrumental soft I used to sleep back
- 8:00Speaker 2: in high school to Delilah. She used to put me
- 8:03Speaker 2: right to bed. Is that your aunt? Stop it? You remember, Delala?
- 8:08Speaker 4: I don't you tell it. Not everybody had the same
- 8:11Speaker 4: experience growing up. I don't know what that is.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Then the radio.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Girl Delilah who would like people would share their stories,
- 8:18Speaker 3: and I'll no, no.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Maybe that's where my sleep issues started, the fact that
- 8:23Speaker 4: I just didn't listen to Delilah, probably.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Like an a Manda in the morning, Big ninety eight
- 8:28Speaker 5: point seven, No Amanda stills the seat, let's see.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Yesterday there was a fresh wave of explosive sexual assault
- 8:37Speaker 3: law lawsuits. This was against Diddy. There were six people,
- 8:40Speaker 3: including four men. One was sixteen when the alleged attack happened.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I was going through this and I'll give you a
- 8:45Speaker 3: couple of them. The new cases claimed the incidents happened
- 8:48Speaker 3: between nineteen ninety five and twenty twenty one. One man
- 8:51Speaker 3: says in his suit that he was just sixteen when
- 8:54Speaker 3: he was at Ditty's white party he was assaulted. In
- 8:56Speaker 3: another suit, there was a man who was working as
- 8:58Speaker 3: an advisor at the Do you remember.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Echo clothing Echo? Do I wait?
- 9:03Speaker 3: Back in the day, well, he ran into Ditty and
- 9:05Speaker 3: three of his bodyguards. He was in the stock room
- 9:07Speaker 3: of Macy's in Manhattan, where he claims he was hid
- 9:09Speaker 3: in the head, possibly with a pistol knocked to his
- 9:12Speaker 3: hands and knees, and they said, I'm gonna kill you Diddy.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Diddy brutally raped him and did. He then headed to
- 9:19Speaker 3: the showroom floor to hand out merchandise to an adoring
- 9:22Speaker 3: crowd and acted as though nothing happened. This is where
- 9:24Speaker 3: it gets even more crazy. The man reported the incident
- 9:27Speaker 3: to Macy's and they never followed up with him. Three
- 9:29Speaker 3: weeks later, macy CEO pressured Echo executives to fire him
- 9:33Speaker 3: because Macy's had just signed a multi million dollar deal
- 9:35Speaker 3: with Sean John Clothing. Of course, Didty's line, I mean
- 9:39Speaker 3: just thick and twisted. Yeah, all the details are are
- 9:43Speaker 3: nothing short of horrific, true, even remotely true? Right, and
- 9:48Speaker 3: so many of them are so graphic we can't even describe.
- 9:50Speaker 3: If you want to, you can go to the internet
- 9:52Speaker 3: and go through it. But I keep saying, it's like unbelievable.
- 9:56Speaker 3: It's shocking to me that this has gone on, and
- 9:59Speaker 3: there's so many vicvictims.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Yeah, and we'll see what they're able to prove and
- 10:02Speaker 4: what sticks and hopefully something because at this point, you know,
- 10:06Speaker 4: there's there's a lot of smoke. There's definitely some fire there, absolutely,
- 10:11Speaker 4: And the.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Search is on for the host of the Academy Awards
- 10:14Speaker 3: and who will it be. So Jimmy Kimmel has done
- 10:16Speaker 3: it for the past four years, he said back in August,
- 10:19Speaker 3: not doing the gig so producers they revealed that they're
- 10:22Speaker 3: considering Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, which I think would
- 10:25Speaker 3: be amazing. He did Hugh host back in two thousand
- 10:29Speaker 3: and nine. Okay, so't he's qualified. He's qualified. They also
- 10:33Speaker 3: are looking at Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and The Rock.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I think Hugh Jackman and Ril Ryan Reynolds. Has Ryan
- 10:40Speaker 3: done it before though, I don't think so.
- 10:42Speaker 4: It's one of those things where it's like, well, you know,
- 10:44Speaker 4: you have to have experience doing it, but how do
- 10:46Speaker 4: you get the experience to do it?
- 10:47Speaker 2: You just do it. You gotta do it, But then
- 10:49Speaker 2: you don't have the experience, so how can you do it?
- 10:50Speaker 3: But it's few friends and they're good friends. They're funny together.
- 10:55Speaker 3: They can go back and forth. I'm here for.
- 10:57Speaker 4: This, I have no doubt. And again you're an act
- 11:00Speaker 4: like I care. I'm not gonna watch it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: You know, might watch like the monologue or something. You
- 11:06Speaker 2: think I might. I think you might. You're right.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I did watch Saturday Night Live last weekend, so I'm roll.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And you said you were gonna watch that years ago,
- 11:14Speaker 3: and here you are checking it out. It's really a
- 11:17Speaker 3: thing of convenience. If I happen to be sitting in
- 11:19Speaker 3: front of a TV that has live TV on it,
- 11:22Speaker 3: yeah I'll watch it.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Then you'll give it a peek.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And this is one of those things though with Ryan Reynolds,
- 11:28Speaker 3: do you does he need to do it? And I
- 11:29Speaker 3: think that's how Hollywood is looking at all these things,
- 11:32Speaker 3: because you're you're gonna get ridiculed. It's maybe gonna fall flat,
- 11:35Speaker 3: Maybe you poke fun as somebody, you rub somebody the
- 11:37Speaker 3: wrong way.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Is it worth it?
- 11:40Speaker 4: I can't imagine a world where we would like ridicule
- 11:43Speaker 4: Ryan Reynolds. I mean, somebody's gonna say something, just me,
- 11:46Speaker 4: This is.
- 11:46Speaker 2: What I mean.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Why if we if we already have you on this pedestal,
- 11:49Speaker 3: and you're such a great guy, why put yourself in
- 11:52Speaker 3: a situation where you're getting judged.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And you might not be as funny as we think
- 11:56Speaker 2: or who knows. It's kind of like the Moby Dick though,
- 11:58Speaker 2: like it's maybe it's for him.
- 12:01Speaker 4: It's like that's an allure, Like, hey, I could do
- 12:05Speaker 4: the Oscars and have everybody unanimously like love my performance.
- 12:09Speaker 2: That's true. Wouldn't that be an accomplishment?
- 12:13Speaker 4: I don't know, you know, I don't know if Moby
- 12:14Speaker 4: Dick has anything.
- 12:15Speaker 2: To do with this.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I was gonna ask you, but I didn't even want
- 12:17Speaker 3: to go into that because what was the deal.
- 12:20Speaker 2: With that big whale? It's a whale, right.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure, Pike. I just I don't know why
- 12:26Speaker 3: you went there. And now I'm like, no, let's work
- 12:28Speaker 3: through it. Because I know the guy that was trying
- 12:30Speaker 3: to kill Moby Dick. That was like his life's mission
- 12:35Speaker 3: to get Moby Dick. So this would be like Ryan Rendolds.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Maybe he's done everything, like but his one thing left
- 12:43Speaker 3: is his Moby Dick, which would be the hosting the
- 12:45Speaker 3: Oscars and doing a good job.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably right. Well, you you sold it to me,
- 12:51Speaker 2: so I'm gonna go with it all right, thank you.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I should have never said anything about it my whole.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Feed this morning and waking up was Taylor Swift and
- 12:58Speaker 3: Travis Kelsey at a baseball game last night.
- 13:00Speaker 4: I mean, I've never seen anybody play in the NFL
- 13:03Speaker 4: and have so much free time.
- 13:05Speaker 3: What's going on? How does they do? How many bye
- 13:07Speaker 3: weeks do they have it here? This is crazy.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Adorable though of course they were all PDA.
- 13:12Speaker 3: At one point, he had his hat off and they
- 13:14Speaker 3: were kissing behind it. She was giving him a drink
- 13:17Speaker 3: of her drink. I mean, they're just gross. I love it.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I'm here for all of it, but it's got to
- 13:23Speaker 3: be exhausting for them at this point.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Yeah, and going to a Yankees game gross, Well he's
- 13:27Speaker 4: a Cleveland fan fan.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Oh?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Is that who they were playing? Yeah? It's the playoffs,
- 13:32Speaker 2: isn't it. The Twins really let you down again? Then
- 13:35Speaker 2: they shared.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Weird a minute in the morning, Big ninety eight point seven.
- 13:40Speaker 4: As far as expensive holidays, where do you rank Halloween?
- 13:44Speaker 4: You know, it really just kind of depends, But ideally
- 13:47Speaker 4: I'd get through a Halloween without spending a time.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I will tell you, if you are buying candy, I
- 13:53Speaker 3: can see how that would be expensive. I mean, a
- 13:56Speaker 3: big bags of candy are not super cheap and if
- 13:59Speaker 3: you are going on I could see that for me
- 14:01Speaker 3: definitely not no minimals and costume wise, I mean, I'll
- 14:06Speaker 3: wear something I can find in my closet. I'm gone
- 14:09Speaker 3: are the days of spending one hundred dollars to buy
- 14:12Speaker 3: a costume or even like you know, you go to
- 14:14Speaker 3: what spirit Halloween? Can you get something for thirty forty bucks?
- 14:18Speaker 2: I would think so somewhere around there.
- 14:20Speaker 3: And again it depends on how to elaborate your costume
- 14:22Speaker 3: is or what you have got going on.
- 14:24Speaker 4: They say the average Halloween shopper, though in twenty twenty four,
- 14:27Speaker 4: will spend an average of one hundred and seventy two.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Dollars on Halloween.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I could see that, especially if you're adding in the
- 14:35Speaker 3: kid's costumes.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Kids costumes, decorations. I know, Amanda, you skimp on things
- 14:40Speaker 4: like pumpkins, basic Halloween decor all of that. Yeah, childhood memories.
- 14:46Speaker 4: I know you're kind of trying to save in that category.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Get over it, yeh. I love that.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I will not. I'm just get over it to being
- 14:54Speaker 2: frugal when it comes to Halloween.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I'm saving it for the big one and that's Christmas detail.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Your kids, get over it. Sucking up Buttercup, you're the
- 15:02Speaker 2: brain candle. We want memories for around Halloweens. Stop get
- 15:06Speaker 2: over it.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Kids, You're not getting Anny, No, trust me, they get plenty.
- 15:11Speaker 3: That's what you're telling yourself anyway. So one hundred and
- 15:15Speaker 3: seventy two bucks, I mean yeah, just just nah. Halloween's
- 15:19Speaker 3: one where you can really in a mana's doing this currently,
- 15:21Speaker 3: you can really rely on everybody else to provide the festiveness.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yes, and that kind of goes for everything.
- 15:28Speaker 3: It's how you what you You can't put all your eggs
- 15:31Speaker 3: into every basket.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I mean could.
- 15:34Speaker 3: It's just that's a lot. There's just a lot coming up.
- 15:37Speaker 3: It's a busy time of year. I remember growing up
- 15:40Speaker 3: my stepmom was like crazy holiday person and it was
- 15:43Speaker 3: always changing. Like we we'd have boxes under the you
- 15:46Speaker 3: know under the stairs.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Oh do I we have pumpkins in our house? Those
- 15:49Speaker 2: cute little story Now you have pumpkins.
- 15:51Speaker 3: No, I told you, we have the ones that have
- 15:53Speaker 3: their names on them. I have orange pillowcases.
- 15:56Speaker 2: In the living room.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Holy cow, I know. Call Michael Myers. This place is
- 16:03Speaker 3: decked out.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Who Michael Myers are you trying to kill my family.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you're doing That's what all this is about,
- 16:14Speaker 3: scheming to kill your family.
- 16:16Speaker 5: Like it a minute in the morning, Big ninety eight
- 16:18Speaker 5: point seven.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I can get on board with this. Uh you know
- 16:22Speaker 4: Dorito's popular chip brand.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Very familiar with the Dorito's. But I'm the weirdo who's
- 16:28Speaker 3: not a huge fan.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Well, then you're not gonna care for this one bit,
- 16:31Speaker 4: not one bit. Dorito's to open its first restaurant. That's right,
- 16:36Speaker 4: Dorito's after Dark will be a restaurant serving up delightful
- 16:42Speaker 4: dishes inside of Crypto dot Com Arena formerly known as
- 16:46Speaker 4: the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Okay, so I say that, but I also maybe get
- 16:51Speaker 3: on board with this if it's tacos in a bag,
- 16:52Speaker 3: because that's one of the reasons I eat Dorito's.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Well it's the perfect thing for that. Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Yeah, well they have they're gonna have some other gonna
- 17:00Speaker 4: have Well, for example, they're gonna have the Dorrito's Flaming
- 17:03Speaker 4: Hot Lamone late night Rita, which is a little classic
- 17:08Speaker 4: twist on a margarita. It's got so it's basically margarita,
- 17:12Speaker 4: but Dorito's Flaming Hot lamone rim.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I love a spicy margarita with a little taheen on it.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Yeah, could you handle the smoking or the flame and
- 17:25Speaker 4: hot flame and hot rim? I think so, Yeah, that's
- 17:29Speaker 4: interesting to me. Dorito's spicy sweet chili ramen rito. So
- 17:34Speaker 4: it's a ramen meets burrito meets Dorito's spicy sweet flavor.
- 17:39Speaker 4: See an Asian twist hit.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Me with Okay, so ramen noodles, walk me through this
- 17:46Speaker 3: and then the sweet spicy dorrito flavor.
- 17:49Speaker 4: It's a fusion of Asian and text Mex flavors. I
- 17:52Speaker 4: mean that sound like that to me, that's like the
- 17:54Speaker 4: perfect late night I love foods because like the golden
- 17:59Speaker 4: era of downtown Fargo really to me was one a
- 18:03Speaker 4: when the Pickled Parrot was open and bams like low
- 18:06Speaker 4: Standards were playing there every few weeks.
- 18:08Speaker 2: And then second when when.
- 18:10Speaker 4: A what's it called, uh Drunken Noodle, When Drunken Noodle
- 18:15Speaker 4: in It's aday on NP Avenue was open and you
- 18:18Speaker 4: could go in there and you get like two am,
- 18:20Speaker 4: I'm eating pad tie.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I mean it was the best time to be It
- 18:23Speaker 2: was so good.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I had a friend to do a twist on spaghetti
- 18:27Speaker 3: putting it in a taco spaghetti tacos, and I.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Just I don't know. I can't get on board with that.
- 18:32Speaker 3: And that's kind of what this is feeling, like, Why
- 18:34Speaker 3: do I need to put raw ma noodles in a burrito?
- 18:37Speaker 2: That's just a lot of carbs. But you don't have
- 18:39Speaker 2: to do anything and a lot of carbs. Who cares?
- 18:42Speaker 3: No, I'm just saying like, and it just feels like
- 18:44Speaker 3: that's just a real messy situation.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I'd just rather have the raw ma noodle bowl than
- 18:49Speaker 2: in a burrito. It's a fusion you have, like, get
- 18:52Speaker 2: get cultured.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Okay, you've never had a little a little fusion Asian
- 18:56Speaker 4: and text mechs meat in the middle.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I'm just just telling you how I feel right now
- 19:02Speaker 3: about this.
- 19:02Speaker 4: All right, Well, I'm down with the Dorito's restaurant. I
- 19:04Speaker 4: think they should open one in Fargo. I think that
- 19:06Speaker 4: would be lovely. Maybe they can. Now it's it too,
- 19:08Speaker 4: when's the measure vote? Can we put this in the
- 19:10Speaker 4: new Fargo Dome renovation? Can we have them have a
- 19:13Speaker 4: Dorito's restaurant in the restaurant? No? No, until it passes,
- 19:17Speaker 4: I suppose.
- 19:18Speaker 3: But we canna get it in though they can't or
- 19:20Speaker 3: can they sneak it in after once it passes, then
- 19:23Speaker 3: they can quick write in there and a Dorito's restaurant.
- 19:26Speaker 2: If you had to pick your favorite food into a restaurant, what.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Would it be into a restaurant? Welledo, you know what
- 19:33Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Mister donfusion, don't.
- 19:35Speaker 4: What do you explain? Pick my favorite food into a restaurant?
- 19:41Speaker 4: Tell me how that sentence makes sense?
- 19:43Speaker 2: It does?
- 19:44Speaker 4: Okay, I am I picking my favorite food? Yes, what's
- 19:47Speaker 4: your favorite food into a restaurant?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Tell me your favorite food? And I'm going to work
- 19:53Speaker 2: through this. Let's just go wings. Okay, Now what do
- 19:59Speaker 2: we do with that? Well, let's make a wing restaurant. Okay,
- 20:07Speaker 2: there's a few. I don't know. If that's the market,
- 20:10Speaker 2: I would go in. And you proved your point?
- 20:12Speaker 5: Okay, like it a minute in the morning, Big ninety
- 20:14Speaker 5: eight point seven.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Well, I hate to bring it up again, a man,
- 20:17Speaker 4: because I know every time we talk about Halloween it
- 20:20Speaker 4: turns into me bashing you for your lack of decor
- 20:24Speaker 4: and memories provided for your children.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Oh stop it.
- 20:26Speaker 3: We just got a couple of Halloween costumes yesterday and
- 20:28Speaker 3: the mail looking forward to it.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Yeah, what do we go with again?
- 20:31Speaker 3: Uh, Sidney wanted to be a Unicorn and Briggsy wanted
- 20:34Speaker 3: to be a Spider Man. But we have like four
- 20:36Speaker 3: different halloweeny kind of things that we have to go to,
- 20:39Speaker 3: and they have a lot of dress up clothes and stuff.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Remember for breaks fourth birthday.
- 20:42Speaker 3: He because he loves being a cop, Like he comes
- 20:44Speaker 3: home every day and puts his cop costume on. So
- 20:47Speaker 3: I thought it'd be kind of fun to do cops
- 20:49Speaker 3: and robbers and get Nick and I involved because you'd
- 20:51Speaker 3: be the bad guys. See, that's what we haven't decided.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Are the girls the bad guys? Boys?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Cops, parents, bad boys? I don't know. I haven't gotten
- 21:01Speaker 2: that far.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Okay, I still got what two weeks.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Trying to figure it out.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Now he knows if he's going to be Spider Man,
- 21:06Speaker 4: he has to wear pants because I know he's been
- 21:08Speaker 4: on this thing lately where he doesn't want to wear pants.
- 21:10Speaker 3: He's a transitional period. By the way, I appreciate all
- 21:14Speaker 3: the people reaching out to me yesterday after we had
- 21:16Speaker 3: talked about it, because I was feeling.
- 21:18Speaker 2: And that's not a parenting fail.
- 21:20Speaker 3: It's just one of those I don't want my kid
- 21:22Speaker 3: to be the only one not wearing pants and a
- 21:24Speaker 3: lot of parents going through the same transitional period.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Oh so it's more about like you're you're sort of
- 21:30Speaker 4: the people's opinion of you, rather than if your kid's
- 21:33Speaker 4: actually cold or not.
- 21:34Speaker 2: No I care, But I also like, God, why has
- 21:37Speaker 2: he got to be so stubborn?
- 21:38Speaker 4: But turns out a lot of kids are bib I told,
- 21:40Speaker 4: And he made it through the whole day without pants on.
- 21:42Speaker 4: He's outside and he was fine, right, Like he'll he'll
- 21:45Speaker 4: wear pants when he wants and needs to wear pants.
- 21:49Speaker 4: That's my approach. I'm kind of like, you know how
- 21:51Speaker 4: Adam Sandler wasn't big daddy. That's kind of my parenting approach. Yep,
- 21:56Speaker 4: says the guy with no kids got it well. He
- 21:58Speaker 4: didn't have kids either until that kid's open his door
- 22:01Speaker 4: and he did his best.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Right to borrow Briggsy for a day. See what happened. Yeah,
- 22:05Speaker 2: we'll goll hawk loogies in the park like the movie.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Anyway, would you say this time of year, you know,
- 22:11Speaker 4: brings back a lot of memories of growing up. Did
- 22:13Speaker 4: you ever go to sleepovers watching like your first real
- 22:17Speaker 4: scary movie?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yes, I mean that was like it's like a rite
- 22:20Speaker 2: of passage for a kid, right, totally.
- 22:22Speaker 3: And what was the movie that you watched that you
- 22:24Speaker 3: remember just being like freaked out with your friends. So
- 22:27Speaker 3: there was Scream, which was a classic, but there was
- 22:30Speaker 3: one and I do not remember. I wish I had
- 22:32Speaker 3: a girlfriend. I could phone a front right now. But
- 22:34Speaker 3: it was I remember going no, Jiren may No, and
- 22:38Speaker 3: that used to scare us.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I don't remember the movie, but it was like Jayren
- 22:42Speaker 2: may know what the heck is that.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Know the name of the movie, and it was it'd
- 22:47Speaker 3: be like an underground movie, not anything like Freddy Krueger
- 22:50Speaker 3: or something like that.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Freddy Krueger Krueger, you mean an adult film? Anyway? What
- 22:57Speaker 2: about you, well Man?
- 22:59Speaker 4: I remember watching of Freddy Kruger, Speak of the Speak
- 23:02Speaker 4: of the Devil. I'm back with my friends, Yeah, and
- 23:04Speaker 4: that was that was horrifying. That was just the scariest thing,
- 23:07Speaker 4: like legitimately scared me. But then my friends and I
- 23:09Speaker 4: we did watch Blair Witch Project, and we were of
- 23:12Speaker 4: the age that we truly believed that it was real
- 23:15Speaker 4: because that was being promoted is real kind.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Of go and reenacted or run out in the woods
- 23:20Speaker 3: and do any of that on your own.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Grub and Glennon.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Yeah, my friends that lived down in the one friend
- 23:24Speaker 4: in particular lived out middle of nowhere, and yeah, we
- 23:27Speaker 4: would go outside and we would be like, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 4: you're just seeking out some scary thing to happen. So
- 23:32Speaker 4: we'd go out and somebody would claim they saw something,
- 23:34Speaker 4: and then we would all sprint. That that rush of
- 23:37Speaker 4: sprinting just because one of your friends said, oh my god,
- 23:40Speaker 4: they started running and you don't know what they saw,
- 23:43Speaker 4: but you're gonna start running too, and you're sprinting back
- 23:45Speaker 4: to the house and then somebody steps on something or
- 23:47Speaker 4: hits like a clothesline and falls, just.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Like the movies. I know, I know.
- 23:52Speaker 4: So what would you say though, Because there's different kinds
- 23:54Speaker 4: of horror movies, which one is more your thing? They
- 23:56Speaker 4: did a survey and found that most people fall under
- 23:59Speaker 4: like the paranormal kind of Ghostbusters theme of horror movies.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So I like the paranormal because it's more of the
- 24:08Speaker 3: real I don't care. Originally, when Saw first came out,
- 24:12Speaker 3: it was like, Okay, that's scary, and I think I've
- 24:13Speaker 3: told you this a thousand times because they're.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Like Amanda in the movie.
- 24:16Speaker 3: So that always creeped me out. But that gets to
- 24:18Speaker 3: be too gory. I don't like too gory. Yeah, but
- 24:21Speaker 3: I also like things that are more realistic that can happen.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I don't know where that ghosts and goblins don't see
- 24:28Speaker 2: that kind of stuff, Yeah, exactly.
- 24:29Speaker 4: Paranormal stuff doesn't do it for me, mostly because the
- 24:32Speaker 4: whole movie is sort of just building and there's this suspense.
- 24:36Speaker 4: I hate that. I need people dying. I'm sorry. Not
- 24:39Speaker 4: in real life I hate that, but you know, in
- 24:42Speaker 4: my movies, I need people dying horrible deaths. And that's
- 24:45Speaker 4: why I fall into the more what they call you
- 24:49Speaker 4: a gore hound. Oh you do, okay, yeah, I do
- 24:52Speaker 4: like a little gore or, like you said, realistic stuff
- 24:56Speaker 4: Like for me, I still know what you did last summer.
- 24:59Speaker 4: I never saw the first one, so that's I'm kind
- 25:01Speaker 4: of like a sequel guy for some reason. Home Alone
- 25:03Speaker 4: to American Pie To, I still know what you did
- 25:05Speaker 4: last week summer, going.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Back to Scream where it's like there is a there's
- 25:08Speaker 3: a person who you don't know who that is in
- 25:11Speaker 3: the town and going like, yeah, that's my.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Life, murder stuff. That's that's that's my kind of thing.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I haven't watched any scary movies yet.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I feel like I'm just now starting to get into
- 25:21Speaker 3: the Halloween season now that it's kind of cooling down, yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 3: getting dark.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Oh you know, I did watch a scary movie. I
- 25:26Speaker 4: told you remember this one called Thanksgiving. So it's a
- 25:30Speaker 4: Thanksgiving themed horror movie. It's on Netflix, and it was
- 25:34Speaker 4: It was really well done. I mean it's ridiculous, trust me,
- 25:38Speaker 4: but it's in like, what do you mean.
- 25:39Speaker 2: A horror movie that happens on Thanksgiving?
- 25:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, you could have a killer on any
- 25:44Speaker 4: day of the year, but this one happens to be
- 25:46Speaker 4: around Thanksgiving, and so definitely watch it.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Is it super cheesy? It's cheesy, but it knows that
- 25:54Speaker 2: it is, you know what I mean? Okay, like a
- 25:57Speaker 2: lifetime movie cheesy.
- 25:59Speaker 4: No, no, in that better in that you just got
- 26:02Speaker 4: to see it. But it's horrifically gory. I mean people
- 26:04Speaker 4: are getting baked like a turkey you can imagine. So, yeah,
- 26:07Speaker 4: what and then getting fed to their friends and family.
- 26:11Speaker 5: In the morning. Big nay eight point seven.
- 26:13Speaker 4: We were talking about and this has been a theme
- 26:15Speaker 4: where Amanda, for whatever reason, is disregarding Halloween.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I will admit I don't care for it. Well, there
- 26:25Speaker 2: you go.
- 26:25Speaker 4: From my perspective, she's robbing her kids of one of
- 26:28Speaker 4: the crucial holidays as a child, Like a lot of
- 26:31Speaker 4: memories are around Halloween, and Amanda can't even be bothered
- 26:34Speaker 4: to put a pumpkin on your doorstep. I mean, that's
- 26:38Speaker 4: like minimal effort.
- 26:38Speaker 2: That's a baby pumpkin.
- 26:40Speaker 3: There.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Is it a real pumpkin or is it some stupid
- 26:43Speaker 2: It's a real pumpkin.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Okay, one baby pumpkin. That's like you might as well
- 26:47Speaker 4: not have one. I mean, that's sad, it really is.
- 26:50Speaker 4: So we're just giving a grief and well we have
- 26:52Speaker 4: a phone call. Good morning, pig naty eight point seven.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I have a question for Amanda. Go ahead, I guess.
- 26:58Speaker 2: What's I'll sit in on it.
- 27:01Speaker 1: You said that your biggest holiday is Christmas. So when
- 27:04Speaker 1: do you put up your Christmas tree?
- 27:06Speaker 3: Uh? You know, I usually do the first week of November,
- 27:09Speaker 3: but my husband gets a little annoyed with that.
- 27:11Speaker 2: So I've moved it to the second weekend of November.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Okay, how about you, Pike.
- 27:16Speaker 4: I've never put up a Christmas tree, so that's where
- 27:19Speaker 4: I'm at. But it's not that I don't love Christmas.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and this is coming from the guy who's been
- 27:24Speaker 3: razzing me all morning about a pumpkin. Okay, it would
- 27:28Speaker 3: be different if I had kids.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I don't. Well, when do you put yours? Uf Ashley?
- 27:32Speaker 1: I also do the first weekend November.
- 27:34Speaker 4: See, that's I'm great with that. Don't you think a
- 27:37Speaker 4: mandic could do a little something for Halloween?
- 27:40Speaker 1: Yeah, because she has kids, but that's her preference. I'm
- 27:44Speaker 1: bigg at Halloween. That's my favorite holidays. So I go
- 27:47Speaker 1: all out for Halloween.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Like, what kind of decor are you tossing up?
- 27:51Speaker 1: I have all kinds of stuff in my house, from
- 27:54Speaker 1: just like pumpkins to like the fake leave skeletons everywhere.
- 27:59Speaker 4: I have everything, but oh creepy, I like it haunted house.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Well, thank you for calling in. We appreciate you. Thank
- 28:10Speaker 2: you for listening, and always do you mean.
- 28:13Speaker 3: That I do?
- 28:14Speaker 1: You guys are my favorite radio station.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Oh god, let me see
