- 0:02[SPEAKER_13]: The following, visit that bug park cast.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_13]: If you like what you hear, tell your friends, hell, even tell your grandmother, send her around.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_13]: Cause on Tuesdays, I serve carpons and tea.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_13]: This claimer, I actually don't serve carpons or fucking anything like that, so don't send any old relatives over to my place.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_13]: Seriously, I got fucking big dogs.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_13]: The location is Adelaide, Australia, the year 1966.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_08]: It is Australia's greatest, a crime that is destroyed or found there.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_08]: For the last year 17, it was an attainment for a greater crescent.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_07]: Jane, Anna, and Grant Beaumont came here to do what Australia did in kids' relish.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_07]: Just a few hours on the beach at the end of the long summer school holidays.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_13]: There was January in the land of coales and kangaroos.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_13]: And there was a heat wave, and the only respite from that heat wave was the beach.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_13]: And the bow munches over and they'll ask their mother if they could take the bus, go to the beach that day.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_13]: If they return just out the lunch, please put your penis.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_13]: But they never return from that trip to the beach.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_13]: Now tell me, how could three kids disappear and from hundreds of witnesses and no one see a thing?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_13]: And for over 56 years, not a trace of them, not even a bone.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_13]: In this world, there are things that go beyond our understanding.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_06]: cannot possibly comprehend.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_13]: Like when does reality end and dreams begin between the flick of a light switch and a dream?
- 2:08[SPEAKER_06]: We continue to shroud ourselves in a veil of illusion and this episode of strange things will be looking at the missing
- 2:26[SPEAKER_13]: The 1960s was one of the most tumultuous divisive decades of world history.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_13]: And in Australia, there's no difference.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_13]: For some, begrudgingly, it was the birth of the civil rights movement.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_04]: We don't want Jepthor, anybody else, but you think we can afford not to have.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't, I shouldn't say, because the kind of race when they get into a white country, they want to win to marry, and I don't think it's fair on the children.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_13]: and it was the start of recognition of the aborigines, and their land rights.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_13]: With greater moves towards equality for women in the workplace.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_10]: Well, because the one I've had, the has to please her husband, and play it in, and play it in her children, and I think she should handle the money her husband should give it to her.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_13]: A man on that brother, but you forgot blow jobs.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_13]: But despite all of these chaotic changes, there are many who were still tell you it was a golden era, Menostralia.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_13]: And with the arrival of the Beatles, it seemed all the eyes of the world were on the continent.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_13]: And as if that wasn't enough, Daredevil Donald Campbell said a new land speed record as he rocketed across a dried-up lakebed just outside of Adelaide.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_13]: I'm guessing that for many in Australia, life was good.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_13]: But I'm also guessing that Big Jim Beaumont in his wife Nancy would tell you that very same thing.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_13]: Big Jim was a traveling salesman who sold linens and he broke his bars to make sure his family lived a good life and had everything that he didn't I guess they were living the Australian dream and with two daughters on a son I've seen that their life was complete but be careful what you wish for
- 4:25[SPEAKER_13]: Was Australia day in Adelaide, the day the whole country celebrates the first European settlement on the continent, a day that is packed full of events, concerts, fun-fares, where the kids are all own droves and join the beautiful weather and festivities.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_13]: Weatherhole community comes out to celebrate its freedom.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_13]: Big Jim had left his family the day before to go on a three-day sales trip, and to make it up to the kids for being away on a holiday, he taken them to the beach that day.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_13]: But this, I Australia Day, was especially hard.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_13]: It wasn't even eight o'clock, and the weather was almost at 40 degrees.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_13]: It was just before 830, when nine-year-old Jane, her seven-year-old sister Anna, and their four-year-old brother Grant, asked if they could catch a bus, a short distance to the beach.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_13]: I normal think to do for kids back then.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_13]: So the mother gave me enough small change for the bus and then lunch.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_13]: on the condition that they'd return home by one.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_13]: And the mother wasn't worried, because Nancy was a responsible big sister.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_13]: And she proven herself time and time again when caring for her youngest siblings.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_13]: But it was a tour clock when the children hadn't returned home, a slightly worried mother, waited by the bus stop, and bus after bus passed, but no kids.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_13]: A husband returned early from his trip and drove down to the beach, looking for his kids.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_13]: When there was no sign of him, he went to the police and reported the missing.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_13]: It wasn't long before it was on the news.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_12]: It would be a familiar with the descriptions of the three missing children.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_12]: That is absolutely important.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_12]: And also make sure your friends are aware of the descriptions of these children.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_12]: And also if you have any new Australian friends, perhaps you can assist them in describing the children to them.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_12]: Two girls, one nine, one seven, and a little four-year-old boy, and I have brown eyes.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_13]: The missing children's father was now not only trying to calm his distraught life, but he was speaking with the police, and talking to the media.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_03]: Sort of a girl is Jane, the nine-year-old, I see you.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_03]: No, they're very intelligent, very intelligent.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: And you're only going to tell her, I think, once.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_03]: She always does what she's told never to talk to any strangers on the beach when she swims there, always in groups.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_03]: People quite able to look after the other two.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_13]: Quite capable, quite capable.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_13]: As the hours pass with no sign of the children, the community started the panic.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_13]: Were they just being kids, last track at time, and would return home soon when they heard people were looking for them.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_13]: Multiple witnesses said that they'd seen the children arrive at the beach.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_13]: What happened after that?
- 7:26[SPEAKER_13]: It seemed unclear.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_13]: It was the next day that the army was called out to help in the search for the young children.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, the first thing over here towards this ridge, right?
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: You can break by now, come over.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_13]: The kangaroo riding cops figured that there were three possibilities.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_13]: Number one, the kids were already dead and made suffered from misadventure, meaning they drowned, but they've been buried in the sand dunes.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_13]: Number two, they were hiding.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_13]: And number three, they've been abducted by a pedophile.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_13]: Now we're being held against that will, force to do unimaginable things.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_13]: A war still, they were already dead.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_13]: With hundreds of witnesses coming forward each day, the small police force was overwhelmed.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_13]: There was a lynch mob mentality growing in the small tight-knit beach community.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_13]: What people wanted to go out and start tracking down on pedophiles and hang them from a tree.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_13]: I got my baseball pot, where do we meet?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_13]: With only a sergeant and four detectives, they tried to keep them off calm.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_13]: Telling people they still believed the kids would be found and returned to their parents safely, but they didn't believe that.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_13]: But either way, if you were a man,
- 8:51[SPEAKER_13]: And your thirties, and you were single, while you better go friend up, brother, because it don't look good for you.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_13]: Investigators have did out all the sueers and drain pipes, but the only thing that they discovered was that our Australians had got a lot of peanuts in their shit, and even the chief of police was at a loss.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_12]: You did lead.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_12]: The men this morning too, this inlet into the manhole in the Broadway.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_12]: That's true.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_12]: Now, do you believe that the children are in this pipe?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_12]: Do you think that this possibility they could be there?
- 9:21[SPEAKER_13]: There was no stone unturned or cross-based left unchecked in the search for the young children.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_13]: They even drained the marina.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_13]: It was turning into a goddamn freak show with half the town invited him.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_13]: And with more inappropriate swimworth and gay pride day.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_13]: We're police and the cadets crawling waste deep for the mod, looking for the children's bodies.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_13]: With the crowds gathering and watching, like it was a goddamn Saturday matinee.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_12]: This is one of the jumps where they hope they don't have any luck whatsoever.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_13]: With the large crowds collectively holding their breaths, wanting the children to be found, but hoping they wouldn't be, because then at least that still be whole, as they continue to focus on the surrounding arena.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_05]: As of dying!
- 10:16[SPEAKER_13]: But as each day passed, that hope faded.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_13]: The police carefully checked out every possible way in which the children could have disappeared.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_13]: At the careful examination of the beach front, they ruled out the possibility that the children had been buried under the sand hills, were been caught in the drainage of falls.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_13]: If the headbence were without the sea and drowned, their bodies would have eventually been washed back on shore, or at least one-a-two of water.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_13]: But more importantly, some are all of the towels, the bag and the footwear would have been left on the beach.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_13]: All together, there were about 15 to 16 possible items that should have been found.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_13]: It was in November of 1966, over nine months, since the ballmons children were waived by to that mother.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_13]: That a local businessman flew over to Lord Chrisak, a famous Dutch quack who claimed to get out of the dead, and that he'd had a vision, and the children were in it, and he could lead him fast to get his capabilities.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_13]: But, of course, that vision came to the price tag.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_13]: It was mounted the airport by reception of hopeful people, similar to when the Beatles had arrived.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_04]: Dr. Crois, I succeeded.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, well, I mean, that's his belief, and I really appreciate it.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_04]: He's coming over, I mean, to find the children.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_09]: I think it'd be very difficult for him to meet up.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_09]: I think he's a very feeling man.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_09]: And I think that Tasman objective is finding the children more so than talking directly.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_05]: In my opinion, I have found this spot where the children have or would be.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_05]: Where is that spot?
- 12:21[SPEAKER_05]: Very sensitive.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_05]: The only problem for this, Ben.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_05]: Where I was this morning, near the goal of that storm, with a children with last.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_05]: Where exactly is this?
- 12:39[SPEAKER_13]: But like most clairvoyance, he was 10 pounds of shit, and a 5 pound bag, and he led investigators around his circles.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_13]: With the day before he was leaving, he called wind of a factory that had been resurfaced and called everybody the bodies were there, but then he was sick and needed to lay down for another day and his expensive hotel, because his visions were so strong.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_04]: and even the patient parents will get fed up of the lives.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what can you say at this moment, I mean, we've been hanging on for nine months and four day and days now.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_04]: And we just got to just wait and hope, and pray.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_13]: to make matters worse, the trolls came out.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_13]: With Nancy Bormont receiving several letters, pretending to be from her daughter, Jane, saying that she was okay, even going into details that her captives were feeding her garden, she was enjoying herself, scumbags, feeding on pain and misery.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_04]: She's not able to leave the children now, and if it did, and I'll clean them as I hope until I was ever to meet you.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_04]: Any evidence is found otherwise.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_13]: But behind closed doors, the parents' hope was secretly fading.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_13]: They knew that the kids were most likely dead.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_13]: And now all they had to do was find the bodies and bury them, so they could have a place to go and lay flowers.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_13]: Remember the life that they had once had.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_13]: A place the parents had once died paradise, was now a syphilitic nightmare, haunting them on the three young lives that were cut short.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_13]: And as for witnesses, there were plenty.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_13]: I was on the beach just before 12, then it elderly couple say they saw the three children playing with a tall thin man, aged between 30 and 35, were blonde hair, and that Jane seemed flirtatious with the man, and she flipped them with a towel, must he sunbathe.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_13]: But she seemed familiar with the man, almost like he was a parent, and he helped her put on a shorts, above her bathing suit, slowly pulling them up and tapping her bottom.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_13]: The elderly couple also reported that the man had asked them if they had seen anyone near Jane's white purse because her money had been stolen.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_13]: Police now believed that this was the man's plan, take the children's money.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_13]: Leave them vulnerable, come in as the white knight.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_13]: If you had a motive to abduct children, what better way to fill our motive than remove that one way of leaving.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_13]: But what about the familiarity in the Jane head with the man?
- 15:19[SPEAKER_13]: The flirting, the flicking of the towel.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_13]: Jane's sister Anna had casually told her mama we girlia that Jane had a boyfriend at the beach.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_13]: Her mother thought nothing of it, thinking that Jane had just met another boy there.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_13]: Someone her own age, a playmate.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_13]: but had Jane met this man before.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_13]: Police believed that the three siblings left the beach willingly with a man.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_13]: It was about 30 minutes later that the children were seen again about 90 meters from the beach when their local post-man saw them and they waived and he said either.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_12]: This spot?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_12]: Where Mr. Patterson last saw the three bone-mod children.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_12]: He was riding his bicycle down mostly straight.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_12]: And he saw them standing right where I am.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_12]: He stopped his bicycle just here.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_12]: He sent hello to them.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_12]: Then he turned around the corner into jet hero.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_12]: I went down towards...
- 16:16[SPEAKER_12]: The past of us, after he passed by, the children walked across the road.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_13]: From there, they went to do a pie shop that they'd been in many times, but this time, cash, was no object.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_13]: They bought some cakes and a pie for a friend, apparently, and Jane paid for it, with a one-pound note, almost five times more than what a mother had given up.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_13]: So how did Jane pay for her lunch for her and her siblings?
- 16:43[SPEAKER_13]: After she'd already said that she'd lost her money, was it her new boyfriend?
- 16:48[SPEAKER_13]: Another witness would later come forward to police and say that later that day, she saw a tall thin man going to house that she thought was empty with three children.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_13]: And later, just before dinner time, a little boy had come out of the house and was walking down the street.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_13]: And the man grabbed the child and reprimand that him brought him back into the house and in the morning they were gone.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_13]: And that was the last reliable sighting of the Beaumont children.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_13]: How can three children be taken any great distance?
- 17:20[SPEAKER_13]: And not be seen.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_13]: The bomb-on children's case is unique, because there's never ever been something quite like it.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_13]: Police believed that their doctor was a bold and a confident man who most likely knew one of the victims.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_13]: So what happened to the bomb-on siblings?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_13]: And why was their final destination?
- 17:40[SPEAKER_13]: And who was the man that the children were following?
- 17:47[SPEAKER_13]: Using a car was a drawing from several witnesses.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_13]: Over the years, the police were able to come up with several suspects.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_13]: One, as most recent at 2013, Harry Fibs was a well-connected millionaire.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_13]: And he hadn't even been a suspect until his son Ratton amount.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_13]: He lived only a tomb in a ward from the beach, and even closer to the pie shop where the kids were last seen.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_13]: And it's hard not to deny that he matches the description from the witnesses.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_13]: Fips at a dark side, he liked his playthings a little younger, including his own son, whose deathbed confession implicated his father.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_13]: Hayden had been 15 years old when the bombard children disappeared.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_13]: And he claimed that he saw the children with his father on the day of their disappearance.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_11]: Hayden is your wife, but we're not supposed to be in relation to certain matters involved in the disappearance of the bombard children.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_11]: If you understand what we're trying to solve that, it's like a petrol as you.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_11]: Ah, isn't there anything else that was useful?
- 18:51[SPEAKER_11]: You remember Australia Day, March 26th, 2006?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it is a very hot, all right, but it has been a change in the world.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_11]: Hot past, it was hot, it was almost almost four years up and flat.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_11]: It's the day of the bomb launch, it was really busy.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_11]: Did you see the truck in the air?
- 19:09[SPEAKER_11]: There.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_11]: So, I'm counting to the backyards of the Kelly House.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_11]: The Charm stands, Charm.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_11]: I think I wanted to sell the house, and that's good.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_11]: Could you hear what they're saying?
- 19:19[SPEAKER_11]: Well, it's a follow-up.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_11]: How long have you seen it for?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_11]: How long was standing 12 and a row yet?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_11]: A long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long
- 19:36[SPEAKER_13]: His son said that after hearing four gunshots, he later saw his father loading some duffel bags into the trunk of his car, driving away.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_13]: And although he had a habit of dressing up in women's clothing and fucking his own son, there was a millionaire.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_13]: Charismatic or political connections who couldn't be touched.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_13]: How?
- 19:59[SPEAKER_13]: The Prime Minister even gave him a goddamn metal.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_13]: And he like the hand out one-pound notes to kids.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_13]: But still, in faster get-as, happen unable to prove it.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_13]: No criminal case in our Australian history has put more suspects on the table.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_13]: And as the years passed, one by one, these pedos have been faster get-as.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_13]: And now one of them has been cleared, but with them all either being in prison or dead, time is running out for them to face justice.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_13]: But either way, the community by the beach will never forget the day.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_13]: The three missing children took their innocence away.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_13]: I guess the pressure eventually got to the Beaumonts, and they divorced in 1988.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_13]: Nancy Beaumont died in 2019 of a broken heart.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: I can't feel your again As you ring the space between us Realizing there's nothing between us If our past selves could have seen us
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Hello hard drink, hello pain No one else ever see you again Hello emptiness, hello regret What we have, I'll never forget
- 22:49[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, again, measuring the distance between us.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_14]: Remembering there's nothing between us.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_14]: If our past selves could have always seen us.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_14]: No one else ever seen you again Hello emptiness, hello regret What we had, I'll never forget
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: Again, measuring the space between us, Realizing there's nothing between us.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: If our past selves could have seen us, Oh, the shape.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the shape.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_14]: Hello, hey, knowin' I'll never see you again Hello, emptiness, hello, regret What we had, how long, how long, how long, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
