- 0:01Speaker 1: The Blaze in Confused podcast is rated M for marijuana
- 0:04Speaker 1: no miners, but your audience is only did you have
- 0:08Speaker 1: the Hess truck growing up? Did you get the Hest
- 0:10Speaker 1: truck every year? I didn't get it every year, but
- 0:12Speaker 1: I have some of them. You know my cousin here, Ian,
- 0:14Speaker 1: he's got a bunch of them.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Still.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, dude, I love the Hest truck. But here's
- 0:17Speaker 1: the thing. I got beef with the HESH truck. I
- 0:19Speaker 1: knew it. I have an issue with the hes truck,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hast truck. There's always a catch though, there's gotta be
- 0:23Speaker 1: some car. Here's the thing.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Here's the thing, as of recently, i'd say, as of
- 0:27Speaker 3: the last I don't know, twenty ish years, they're getting
- 0:30Speaker 3: kind of lazy with the HESH truck because the Hess
- 0:32Speaker 3: truck isn't a fucking truck anymore.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It's like an airplane and a helicopter. And so listen
- 0:39Speaker 1: to this.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I actually, like, I started thinking about this the other
- 0:41Speaker 3: day because I heard the ad on the radio. I'm
- 0:45Speaker 3: playing the ad for the new one for twenty twenty five.
- 0:47Speaker 3: It's a stock car truck. Yeah, it's not a truck
- 0:51Speaker 3: though it's a stock.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Do they put it in a truck though a lot
- 0:53Speaker 1: of times they'll have the truck and they'll put the
- 0:55Speaker 1: you know, the car in the back. Think this one
- 0:56Speaker 1: is just the stock car. Okay.
- 0:58Speaker 3: So I started doing searched today about how many HESH
- 1:02Speaker 3: trucks aren't actually trucks.
- 1:03Speaker 1: They started getting lazy around nineteen ninety three. It was
- 1:06Speaker 1: a while ago. It was a patrol car. I kind
- 1:10Speaker 1: of vaguely remember that.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah, nineteen ninety three patrol car, two thousand and one,
- 1:15Speaker 3: helicopter with motorcycle and cruiser.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I had that one. I remember that one. I started
- 1:18Speaker 1: getting thember. That might have been like my first one.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I would have been on age two thousand and one.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Two thousand and four suv with a motorcycle, two thousand
- 1:26Speaker 3: and nine, a race car, twenty twelve helicopter and a
- 1:30Speaker 3: rescue vehicle.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So do you think they should change the jingle then?
- 1:33Speaker 1: Is that what you're trying to get at? Well, yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 1: twenty twenty one cargo playing in jet.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Twenty twenty five stock car races and they just unveiled
- 1:41Speaker 3: what it is next year it's a kayak.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Oh God, are you serious?
- 1:45Speaker 1: No, no, no, I thought that was a realtion.
- 1:48Speaker 2: The Hesh Truck's back in.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It's better than ever.
- 1:51Speaker 3: It's a kayak, this years kayak.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Well, they should be a little bit more straightforward with
- 1:57Speaker 1: their jingle. Act 's just that I agree. They still
- 1:59Speaker 1: include the battery though they do batteries included. Are they
- 2:03Speaker 1: good batteries? Though? How much? How much is the Hesh
- 2:05Speaker 1: truck now? Like twenty bucks? No, keep fifty bucks? Keep going?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Really how much you think it is? All right? The
- 2:11Speaker 1: Hess kayak has got to be like, it's gotta be
- 2:14Speaker 1: like not so yeah, it's a kayak. It doesn't need batteries.
- 2:19Speaker 2: So oh, batteries are not included?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Forty nine ninety nine plus I was gonna say fifty bucks.
- 2:23Speaker 1: That's not too too bad though now. But years ago
- 2:25Speaker 1: they were like nineteen ninety nine. I remember the advertisement.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You look that up really quick. Yeah, what was the
- 2:30Speaker 1: cost of a Hess whatever in nineteen ninety nine? It
- 2:33Speaker 1: says nineteen dollars and ninety five cents in nineteen ninety
- 2:36Speaker 1: nine or nineteen nine.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what you said to thirty bucks.
- 2:40Speaker 1: It went up thirty dollars. Yeah, just like everything else.
- 2:42Speaker 1: You surprised. No, are you gonna get the hes kayak?
- 2:47Speaker 1: It's gonna be a collector the very first. What's next?
- 2:50Speaker 1: That's what I went, Well, you know what they have
- 2:53Speaker 1: to start.
- 2:54Speaker 3: They've already like crossed off all the you know on
- 2:55Speaker 3: they're checking the boxes of transportation. So we have the plane,
- 3:00Speaker 3: We've got the trucks, we've got the cars, we have
- 3:02Speaker 3: the race cars. It's time to get some water stuff
- 3:04Speaker 3: in here, surfboard. Yeah, this year.
- 3:11Speaker 2: For coastal communities.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that was your beef.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I feel so much better now I got off.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, here's another thing that I'm thinking about
- 3:20Speaker 3: as we record this episode.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I read this study. I actually read a study. Shocking,
- 3:25Speaker 1: isn't it, But I found this study from uh the
- 3:28Speaker 1: University of Toronto. It says, basically, in a nutshell, if
- 3:32Speaker 1: you use filler words like uh.
- 3:34Speaker 3: And um, yeah, you're fucked. What do you mean, like
- 3:38Speaker 3: your brain's fucked? Like your brain's starting to be a
- 3:40Speaker 3: little fucked. Yeah, no, it says. So here's what it says.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Uh.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It says.
- 3:45Speaker 3: A new study says UH using uh and um more
- 3:50Speaker 3: often could signal cognitive decline. Researchers say frequent filler words
- 3:55Speaker 3: may indicate drops in executive function.
- 3:59Speaker 2: UH.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Executive function is memory, planning, reasoning, and problem solving. It
- 4:05Speaker 3: says here, decline is normal with age and sometimes it's
- 4:08Speaker 3: just a habit. But arise in filler words, overtime might
- 4:11Speaker 3: show that you're you know, slipping geez and speaking of
- 4:15Speaker 3: and uh, listening to.
- 4:17Speaker 4: This, we found two hundred and fifty thousand Americans over
- 4:21Speaker 4: the age of one hundred and twenty four who are
- 4:25Speaker 4: collecting who are collect collecting, So we're collecting workers' compensation.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Man, Now sounds like someone's fucked. Yeah. And by the way,
- 4:48Speaker 1: that clip is not edited. Yeah, that's real. We had
- 4:51Speaker 1: an rfk impostor a few weeks ago on podcast, but
- 4:55Speaker 1: this was very real.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Anyway, watch your o's for this episode. Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 1: So I'm gonna be thinking about it.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I'm just going to say that's all. I'm going to
- 5:02Speaker 2: be thinking.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Thinking about what, uh you want to intro our guest.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Uh, Katie's here. Hello, Katie worked in retail. We're going
- 5:11Speaker 1: to talk about Black Friday, hell, that and more on
- 5:14Speaker 1: episode twenty eight of the Blaze That Confused podcast.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Let's Do It.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Welcome to the Blazed and Confused Podcast with Becker and
- 5:22Speaker 5: Joel Cent trivia podcast where the questions are high. Hey,
- 5:26Speaker 5: and so are they hate. Time to pluck your curiosity
- 5:30Speaker 5: and line up some knowledge though Blazed and Confused podcast starts.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Now you're such a nerd? That and more on this
- 5:40Speaker 1: week's episode that I'm Becker. That's my friend Joel. Hello,
- 5:45Speaker 1: it's episode twenty eight. We've done it. Yeah, we've reached
- 5:48Speaker 1: twenty eight. That was our goal, not really, but we've
- 5:51Speaker 1: done it. So we're doing the area codes. That's a
- 5:54Speaker 1: new tradition, official tradition. You know.
- 5:57Speaker 3: We give you the area code and salute our listeners
- 5:59Speaker 3: and said your code for each episode. So it's episode
- 6:02Speaker 3: twenty eight. Twenty eight is the area code for Northern Ireland.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Irish.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh that fits perfectly today.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Not only dance.
- 6:13Speaker 1: She's an Irish dancer and she teaches it too.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Oh, you teach it, it's my job.
- 6:17Speaker 1: That's I always thought that was cool. I've seen the
- 6:20Speaker 1: Irish dancers a couple of times.
- 6:22Speaker 3: That's like, all right, so you always put your hands
- 6:24Speaker 3: out on the side, right, and then you like.
- 6:27Speaker 6: You don't put them out, you put them down right, Yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 6: you know, put it down.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's what comes in so Irish dance. What's
- 6:33Speaker 3: the difference between Irish dancing and dancing everywhere else. Irish
- 6:36Speaker 3: dancing is really only like your feet and not your.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Hands, right pretty much?
- 6:39Speaker 2: I mean yeah, pretty much. Look here, I'll do it.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'll do a little dance for you. What do you think?
- 6:45Speaker 2: You're a little off?
- 6:48Speaker 5: You're lost? They probably are too blazed and confused podcast.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I did a pull on Facebook earlier asking people if
- 6:56Speaker 1: they ever waited in long lines on Black Friday and
- 6:58Speaker 1: what they were like in line. For a lot of
- 7:00Speaker 1: people remember like standing in line for the tickle me
- 7:02Speaker 1: Elmo doll. I think that was around when you were born. Honestly,
- 7:04Speaker 1: Tickle me Elmo. It was like late nineties, I think,
- 7:07Speaker 1: did you I.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Was nineteen ninety three. I never had a Tickle me Elmo,
- 7:11Speaker 6: but I remember them. Yeah, and people that Santa lines are.
- 7:14Speaker 1: People went crazy. Tickle me Elmo was before my time.
- 7:17Speaker 3: The original tile tickling Elmo came out in nineteen ninety six.
- 7:22Speaker 1: It's two years before me.
- 7:24Speaker 3: You know, thinking about it, I can confidently say that
- 7:26Speaker 3: I've really like never gone Black Friday shopping.
- 7:29Speaker 1: See a lot of people chimed in with that. They
- 7:30Speaker 1: said they had no interest in ever doing it. A
- 7:35Speaker 1: lot of people said I value my sanity too much.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I don't have the patience. And a lot of people
- 7:39Speaker 1: said they've never even been Black Friday shopping. I went
- 7:43Speaker 1: one time, and my sister actually made me go. She
- 7:46Speaker 1: was out at a department store in New Jersey somewhere,
- 7:49Speaker 1: and she was like, do you want me to get
- 7:50Speaker 1: you anything? I said, yeah, I want my first flat
- 7:52Speaker 1: screen TV. It was a forty inch TV. It was
- 7:53Speaker 1: probably about like, I don't know, six hundred dollars back
- 7:56Speaker 1: then in TV. Yeah, super thick too. It wasn't even
- 7:59Speaker 1: like a fl But she was like going to the
- 8:02Speaker 1: store already going to be there right then. She asks
- 8:05Speaker 1: me that question, and she said, well, you're gonna have
- 8:07Speaker 1: to come out here, and I was like at somebody's house,
- 8:10Speaker 1: like on a date, you know. At the time. I
- 8:11Speaker 1: remember having to leave to drive to New Jersey to
- 8:14Speaker 1: stand in line for my first ever forty inch TV.
- 8:16Speaker 1: We were there for fucking hours. She drove all the
- 8:18Speaker 1: way to Jersey to buy TV. She Jersey's not far
- 8:23Speaker 1: from us, by the way, it's fifteen minutes away.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Well, I mean.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but still, why go all the way out there
- 8:29Speaker 1: to buy TV? That's where she wanted to go. Maybe
- 8:31Speaker 1: that store had, you know, a certain amount of items.
- 8:33Speaker 1: That's another thing. A lot of times they're limited. Did
- 8:36Speaker 1: this involve like waiting in line to get said TV?
- 8:38Speaker 1: And she was there for hours and then she met
- 8:40Speaker 1: crazy When we talked, it was like fucking one o'clock
- 8:43Speaker 1: in the morning at that point, and I had to
- 8:44Speaker 1: drive out there in the middle of the night to
- 8:46Speaker 1: stand in line. I thought she was going to do
- 8:48Speaker 1: me a favor and get it for me, but ended
- 8:50Speaker 1: up being my first Black Friday experience. You never went again.
- 8:53Speaker 3: You would think that waiting in line to get something
- 8:55Speaker 3: at a store is a thing of the past, but
- 8:58Speaker 3: it's very much so not because every day I drive
- 9:00Speaker 3: past the what's it called? God, I sound like RFK
- 9:04Speaker 3: now uh what you call it?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Oh?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Best Buy?
- 9:08Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 9:08Speaker 3: I drive by best Buy every day, and it seems
- 9:10Speaker 3: like a couple times a year there's people waiting outside
- 9:13Speaker 3: before they open for the same releases.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Probably, yeah, yeah, is that what it is? Our systems
- 9:18Speaker 1: are coming out, like new video game systems or something
- 9:20Speaker 1: like that. That's probably what it is. They sell grills
- 9:22Speaker 1: there now. It's like a smoker and a grill out
- 9:26Speaker 1: there the other day, and the good prices. No, not
- 9:30Speaker 1: the best buy. You can get all the places to
- 9:34Speaker 1: buy a grill, Yeah, best buy.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Katie, what store did you work at, Victorious? Let me
- 9:40Speaker 2: tell you.
- 9:40Speaker 6: On Black Friday when we ran out of the free stuff, mayhem, yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 6: I mean, and then they would go to other stores
- 9:46Speaker 6: in the area they would call mayhem, I mean fists
- 9:50Speaker 6: like I've seen fights.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So what were like some of the things that you
- 9:52Speaker 1: were giving away that people were going crazy about?
- 9:54Speaker 6: Nothing different than what we would normally give away. The
- 9:56Speaker 6: deals are not better on Black Friday at all. Really, no,
- 9:59Speaker 6: it's better before Black Friday or after.
- 10:02Speaker 2: They're not better.
- 10:03Speaker 1: You're getting some insight information here, but you get like
- 10:06Speaker 1: a Victoria's Secret by the way, yeah, Victory's Secret.
- 10:10Speaker 6: But the mall so like, yeah, we would just give
- 10:13Speaker 6: away a tote that you or a blanket.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Must be cool to work at a mall. Now, what
- 10:17Speaker 3: I think of a mall, I think of sounds weird
- 10:20Speaker 3: to say. But the smell, you know what the smell
- 10:22Speaker 3: of the mall is? That should be somebody should make
- 10:24Speaker 3: a candle called the mall.
- 10:26Speaker 2: What is this smell like? You don't know if you
- 10:28Speaker 2: describe it right away.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I think of like the butter on a soft pretzel
- 10:33Speaker 3: and yeah, okay, that's what the mall smells like.
- 10:38Speaker 1: All right, and body odor. Anyway, let's get in some
- 10:43Speaker 1: rapid round questions. All right, so you know what the
- 10:46Speaker 1: but the rules of this podcast here are not really
- 10:48Speaker 1: I don't oh baby, okay, So we have rapid Around trivia.
- 10:52Speaker 1: It's a it is indeed a stone or trivia podcast.
- 10:56Speaker 1: But our guests, when we ask our questions back and forth,
- 10:59Speaker 1: our guest is the lifeline. But getting into the podcast,
- 11:02Speaker 1: we have the rapid round, and you answered the rapid
- 11:04Speaker 1: round ten questions sixty seconds whenever you can do. The
- 11:08Speaker 1: game begins in three.
- 11:13Speaker 3: All right, Area fifty one is located in what US state?
- 11:19Speaker 7: Uh?
- 11:20Speaker 2: Nevada?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Got it? What's the hardest rock? Wow?
- 11:24Speaker 2: IOUs rock?
- 11:27Speaker 1: No? Traditionally? How many wonders of the world are there seven?
- 11:34Speaker 1: What style of music originated in New Orleans around nineteen
- 11:39Speaker 1: jazz around?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Jess?
- 11:40Speaker 1: You got it, Jess. What kind of animals sleep during
- 11:43Speaker 1: the day and are active at night?
- 11:44Speaker 2: Bats?
- 11:45Speaker 1: What line of an animal?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Owls? Birds?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Skip it? What state is the Great Lake State?
- 11:53Speaker 2: Michigan?
- 11:54Speaker 1: Got it? What's another name for a lawyer?
- 11:57Speaker 2: Attorney?
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yes? What organs, organ stores urine the bladder, got it?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:04Speaker 1: How many letters are in the alphabet? Twenty?
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:07Speaker 1: What American holiday is in September?
- 12:10Speaker 2: Labor Day? Got it?
- 12:11Speaker 1: What kind of animals sleep during the day and are
- 12:13Speaker 1: active at night?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Sleep during the day, active at night.
- 12:17Speaker 1: They are a What kind of animal are they?
- 12:22Speaker 2: You can do it?
- 12:22Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Sliping rhymes with external got it? The animal?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Well done though, otherwise.
- 12:35Speaker 2: The pressure with the music is.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Right in sixty seconds? Yeah, yeah, Area fifty one located
- 12:42Speaker 1: in Nevada. Do you believe in that stuff? Do you
- 12:43Speaker 1: have aliens? And where the government stores of the aliens?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Is that the legend?
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:48Speaker 1: The legend? The legend. I don't know.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Do you believe in aliens?
- 12:50Speaker 1: I do?
- 12:51Speaker 2: But didn't they prove it? And nobody cared?
- 12:53Speaker 1: Didn't care?
- 12:55Speaker 2: Who cares?
- 12:56Speaker 1: I care that I care?
- 12:57Speaker 2: I care anyways?
- 12:59Speaker 1: Like this just my hot take. I think space is boring. Yeah,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you're stupid.
- 13:03Speaker 2: You think it's boring. Yeah, it's infinite. Who cares? The
- 13:10Speaker 2: ocean is cooler. It's boring too, would be great. You
- 13:12Speaker 2: know it's boring too.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It's real fun at parties. Just a bunch of water.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Here's why space is boring.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Everybody's like, oh, do you go out tonight and look
- 13:19Speaker 3: at the blah blah blah blah blah star.
- 13:21Speaker 1: It's like what you go up and look at a
- 13:23Speaker 1: bunch of little dots? Boring?
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's boring, It's beautiful, that's.
- 13:27Speaker 1: All you're ever doing. I took astronomy in high school.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Boring, boring, And maybe it's because there's there was two
- 13:35Speaker 3: astronomy teachers, one that had like the planetarium or at
- 13:37Speaker 3: least you could look at the little dots like you know,
- 13:39Speaker 3: up close and personal stars.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:41Speaker 3: So two astronomy teachers, planetarium guy and not planetarium guy.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Well guess who I got now, non planetarium guy MP.
- 13:48Speaker 3: So maybe that's why I have I have a beef
- 13:51Speaker 3: with hes trucks and the sky and then planetarium planetarium
- 13:55Speaker 3: guy the non planetarium guy.
- 13:57Speaker 1: What is the hardest rock? You said, igneous? The dying
- 14:00Speaker 1: is the hardest worst. Yeah. Traditionally there are seven wonders
- 14:03Speaker 1: of the world. Do you know what they are? I
- 14:05Speaker 1: have no idea. You could put a gun to my
- 14:07Speaker 1: head right now. I couldn't name one. Why'd you put
- 14:09Speaker 1: the word traditionally? Before that? Is this like debated that
- 14:12Speaker 1: because more than because it changed. They like changed it
- 14:16Speaker 1: like a couple of years back. Who's they the people
- 14:19Speaker 1: that come up with the wonders, the wonder people, the Committee, Yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 1: the Committee of Wonders. The Board, yeah, the Wonderboard. But
- 14:27Speaker 1: there are seven I don't know. Do you know what
- 14:28Speaker 1: they are? I just googled the seven Wonders of the World.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I haven't heard any of these except for the pyramids.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Oh tell me what they are. The Temple of Artemis
- 14:39Speaker 1: at Thefesus that's sound right in the city of a
- 14:44Speaker 1: Festus near uh something with an s Turkey. Okay, Temple
- 14:50Speaker 1: of Artemis at the Statue of Zeus at Olympia in Greece.
- 14:54Speaker 1: That sounds familiar. That rings a bill?
- 14:56Speaker 8: Uh.
- 14:57Speaker 1: The Mausoleum at.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Uh Uh. It's like a second tier, second one into.
- 15:08Speaker 1: The No, no, it's just oh wait, this is a
- 15:11Speaker 1: B group fourteen.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Well it does.
- 15:14Speaker 3: You might be hotot something because it's the seven Wonders
- 15:16Speaker 3: of the ancient world.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Ah, so maybe that's not the regular ones. Give me
- 15:21Speaker 1: the regular one. Tell yeah, what the hell? Then I
- 15:23Speaker 1: scrolled down it it's the Empire State Building. What am
- 15:26Speaker 1: I looking at?
- 15:28Speaker 5: Trivia?
- 15:28Speaker 9: Man, It's like the universe asking us questions.
- 15:32Speaker 5: You know, yeah, a Blaze and Confused podcast.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So what are the seven winners of the world?
- 15:40Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 15:40Speaker 1: We don't know. It's a mystery, it's a wonder.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Blazed and Confused, random thoughts.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Did you see the story with the Jet Blue plane
- 15:51Speaker 3: that had to do an early landing because there was
- 15:54Speaker 3: a dude smoking weed in the bathroom? No, yeah, so
- 15:57Speaker 3: it was a It was a flight from Boston to
- 15:59Speaker 3: Tampa and had to turn around mid flight because they
- 16:03Speaker 3: claimed that the crew inhaled the marijuana.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Oh no, no, So I have the.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Listen to this.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Here we go eleven ninety one. I just had some
- 16:12Speaker 7: questions as the cockpit secure right now? Hey for our
- 16:15Speaker 7: toxic six here, we had a customer dape in the
- 16:18Speaker 7: lab and we've yeah, smoking marijuana in the lab. Would
- 16:21Speaker 7: like at the turn of Boston eleven one Roger for
- 16:24Speaker 7: Jeffular eleven ninety one. Yeah, we have a security issue
- 16:29Speaker 7: with a passenger mostly at the service smoking marijuana. Our
- 16:34Speaker 7: crew inhaled it and now we're overweight landing. So that's
- 16:37Speaker 7: the main reason for the emergency. We had a customer, Yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 7: we had a security passenger smoking marijuana. Our crew Inhaled
- 16:52Speaker 7: its it back.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It's a big emergency. Turned the player around. It's amazing
- 16:59Speaker 1: we have that you so clear as we did it,
- 17:01Speaker 1: says this dude could face federal charges, big find of
- 17:03Speaker 1: civil suit in a lifetime band.
- 17:05Speaker 6: My question is, why do they turn the plane around
- 17:07Speaker 6: if you're already halfway.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Why don't you just keep.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Going because they said.
- 17:11Speaker 2: That the you got to turn around and go back
- 17:13Speaker 2: the same.
- 17:14Speaker 3: But the whole thing was is that they claimed that
- 17:16Speaker 3: the flight attendants and the crew inhaled. Come on, how ridiculous?
- 17:22Speaker 3: I mean, really, we're doing random thoughts? What else you
- 17:25Speaker 3: have written here? Let me read this? Sending food back
- 17:28Speaker 3: if your order is wrong? Do you do this? Or
- 17:33Speaker 3: are you what did you write? Or are or are
- 17:36Speaker 3: to just suck it up? What the fuck?
- 17:41Speaker 1: Typo? Obviously or are to just suck it up?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Sounds like shakespeareance.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And eat it anyway? Okay, RFK junior, jeez. But sending
- 17:52Speaker 1: your food back if you get something, if you order
- 17:53Speaker 1: food and it comes in, it's like fucked up? You
- 17:55Speaker 1: send it back?
- 17:56Speaker 2: No?
- 17:56Speaker 1: No, why not? I want to know why? And why?
- 17:59Speaker 2: Is it a bad thing?
- 17:59Speaker 1: If someone does I just don't want to bother people.
- 18:02Speaker 1: But you you're paying for that. What tell me the
- 18:06Speaker 1: story of why you're thinking. I'm just asking. I know
- 18:09Speaker 1: where you do that.
- 18:10Speaker 2: If it's the wrong meal.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, if you were a steak that was like, you know, uh,
- 18:14Speaker 1: medium rare, but you got it like well done.
- 18:16Speaker 2: No, no, that was a little different.
- 18:19Speaker 6: I ordered a steak and I got like a salmon.
- 18:21Speaker 6: I'd send it back, but no, if it's cooked wrong,
- 18:24Speaker 6: I just suck it up. My mom's a waitress. She's
- 18:26Speaker 6: been a waitress my whole life. She would want you
- 18:29Speaker 6: to say something.
- 18:30Speaker 1: See, I don't like tomatoes, right, I don't want them
- 18:33Speaker 1: in my food, especially if they're chopped up and everything's
- 18:35Speaker 1: wet and tastes like tomato. Now, you know. So if
- 18:38Speaker 1: I order a salad, I got a Caesar. I got
- 18:41Speaker 1: a Caesar salad the other day that came with tomatoes.
- 18:44Speaker 1: What the fuck? And a caesar What the hell would
- 18:47Speaker 1: put tomatoes in a Caesar salad like that? What restaurant?
- 18:51Speaker 1: I forget where it was, but I'm not going there again. Well,
- 18:53Speaker 1: you got to tell me and warm me. I forget
- 18:55Speaker 1: what it was. I'll remember later. I can't remember anything
- 18:58Speaker 1: right now. Oh gee, I wonder why. Oh we're doing
- 19:01Speaker 1: random thought. So, if everything goes according to plan, this
- 19:03Speaker 1: episode is going to post on Thanksgiving. So what's the
- 19:07Speaker 1: Thanksgiving food that you look forward to every year? Not
- 19:10Speaker 1: a traditional food for Thanksgiving? But my mom makes this
- 19:12Speaker 1: thing that my ex girlfriend from high school, her aunt made.
- 19:14Speaker 1: If it's it's like a broccoli cheddar cast role. It's broccoli.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I love broccoli, like velveta cheese and then basically just
- 19:21Speaker 1: ritz crackers on top, baked on top of it, and
- 19:23Speaker 1: it's fucking dynamite. It is so good. I don't like it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: You don't like broccoli.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I don't like the broccoli shutter stuff.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Oh really, I'm a fan. You don't like it.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Velveta is a little scary, okay, fair enough.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I'm not saying. I'm not saying it's the best ingredients.
- 19:37Speaker 1: It just tastes really good.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Do you guys like turkey? Yes? Yes?
- 19:40Speaker 1: And mashed potatoes and corn.
- 19:42Speaker 6: I don't like mashed potatoes all that much. Not a
- 19:45Speaker 6: mashed potato person.
- 19:46Speaker 1: God, I know, what do you eat like?
- 19:48Speaker 6: I mean, I suck it up and I eat it,
- 19:49Speaker 6: but like eat the turkey, I don't know, it's I
- 19:53Speaker 6: it's fine.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Any gravy on it, It's fine.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Is it the texture?
- 19:58Speaker 2: No, I don't know, I'm not. That's not the type
- 20:01Speaker 2: of food I'm into. I don't know. I'm never like,
- 20:03Speaker 2: oh god, mashed potatoes.
- 20:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I keep saying that. When I'm gonna if I'm like
- 20:06Speaker 1: ninety years old and I'm living off a you know,
- 20:08Speaker 1: a diet of you know, soup and mashed potatoes, I'm
- 20:11Speaker 1: gonna be perfectly fine. I'll be I mean, put a
- 20:13Speaker 1: lot of butter in it.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, salt, pepper, all the gravy. I'm good.
- 20:17Speaker 3: But we're there's like three things that we've established thus
- 20:21Speaker 3: far on this episode that I have to befo the
- 20:23Speaker 3: hash truck space and I'll give you.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I'll give you the third one. Ham on Thanksgiving. I
- 20:30Speaker 1: was going to bring that up. I never We're going
- 20:31Speaker 1: to move on. But yeah, I agree, wrong family, but
- 20:34Speaker 1: I prefer the turkey. Now ham is for Christmas. Some
- 20:37Speaker 1: people do Christmas turkey too.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Oh no, don't be in those families.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Weird, what's what's a holiday? We could just have chicken.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I like chicken. Chicken superior to all of these things.
- 20:47Speaker 1: By the way, deep fried.
- 20:50Speaker 5: And you're about to learn absolutely nothing. Go Blazed and
- 20:54Speaker 5: Confused podcast.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I have no questions prepared, so you can go first.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Oh great, question number one. You ready to lose?
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Probably you are a lifeline. We can come to you
- 21:04Speaker 1: one time, all right, and we're going to talk more
- 21:06Speaker 1: about retail real quick before we get out of here.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Question one, What gas makes up the majority of Earth's atmosphere?
- 21:14Speaker 1: What gas makes up the majority of Earth? Should like,
- 21:17Speaker 1: this should be so easy. You know what, My cousin's
- 21:19Speaker 1: here too. He can be a kind of like a
- 21:21Speaker 1: bonus lifeline.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Maybe. Oh, don't look at me, we're in the same boat.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Not a gas coal? Alright? What about gas? This is
- 21:29Speaker 1: gonna sound dumb, but like oxygen is not a gas? Right?
- 21:34Speaker 1: Sure it is?
- 21:35Speaker 5: Is it?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Oh?
- 21:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a gas.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Look at him.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Read the question again. What gas makes up the majority
- 21:42Speaker 1: of Earth's atmosphere?
- 21:43Speaker 3: Well, there's good. It's got to be oxygen. There's oxygen everywhere.
- 21:47Speaker 3: We're surrounded by oxygen. Right, final answer, oxygen. Finally at
- 21:55Speaker 3: the hit the wrong nitrogen. Nitrogen. It's seventy eight percent.
- 22:00Speaker 2: High like oxygen. We need it.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I don't even know what nitrogen is.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know it keeps us alive. I guess
- 22:10Speaker 1: thanks Nitrogen, question too. This episode is brought to you
- 22:14Speaker 1: by Nitrogen. Technically, all right, what state is south of Oklahoma?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Jeez?
- 22:26Speaker 1: All right, so Oklahoma, it's you know, it's over there.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It's down Okay, right down over. Oklahoma doesn't have a coast,
- 22:39Speaker 1: there's no beaches, so it's surrounded by other states. Right,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I believe there are no beaches in Oklahoma.
- 22:46Speaker 2: It's definitely landmarks.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's getting closer.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Hypothetically here, I do have a one in fifty shot,
- 23:00Speaker 3: which I'm just totally gonna blow.
- 23:02Speaker 1: What state is south of Oklahoma? Okay? I'll use the lifeline,
- 23:06Speaker 1: a bonus lifeline. Sure, all right? You want to say
- 23:08Speaker 1: in the microphone? The microphone Texas.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Texas is right?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I didn't even know that.
- 23:16Speaker 6: We were just talking about what's above Texas for some reason, remember.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Coincidentally, so I knew it. Talk about some pretty cool stuff.
- 23:25Speaker 2: When you're hanging out, we're pretty interesting.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Question three? All right. I like that you already used
- 23:32Speaker 1: your lifeline with Ian because he would definitely know this.
- 23:37Speaker 1: What is the unit of electrical power? Oh? What?
- 23:41Speaker 7: What?
- 23:42Speaker 1: What?
- 23:42Speaker 2: What? What?
- 23:43Speaker 1: What is the unit of electrical power? An ample amp
- 23:49Speaker 1: here final answer or a watt. I don't know.
- 23:55Speaker 3: It might be a wat. I think it's a watt.
- 23:59Speaker 3: What Finally, what are you talking of?
- 24:01Speaker 1: It's what? It's a what?
- 24:04Speaker 2: What?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Congratulations? Thank you you guessed correctly. Man, you know what
- 24:07Speaker 1: I was going to say? Ohm? What's an ome o?
- 24:10Speaker 5: Wait?
- 24:10Speaker 1: Oh hhm what is that?
- 24:11Speaker 6: What is that?
- 24:12Speaker 5: Good?
- 24:12Speaker 7: Ian?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Is that what you're meditating? Take the mic and school us.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Ohm is the unit for like resistance.
- 24:18Speaker 2: So how much resistance something has?
- 24:20Speaker 1: Oh, he's got a lot of that. You're resistant to
- 24:22Speaker 1: most things symbols. He's got a lot of omes. You
- 24:24Speaker 1: got a lot of ohms, and no wonder why it
- 24:26Speaker 1: came to mind first? All right? Question four twenty What
- 24:32Speaker 1: what corporation? Was founded by Sam Walton in nineteen sixty
- 24:35Speaker 1: two Walmart and has grown to become the world's largest
- 24:39Speaker 1: company by revenue. Walmart, Walmart, Really confident, it's the Walton family.
- 24:45Speaker 1: It's Walmart six hundred and eighty one billion dollars annually.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and I didn't know that Walmart. I had
- 24:53Speaker 1: no idea. Those are pretty deep, decent questions for this week.
- 24:55Speaker 1: You were bitching last time. You're like, they're too they're
- 24:57Speaker 1: getting too hard, so I gave you some easier ones. Yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I thought you'd get nitrogen. But according to you, you
- 25:02Speaker 1: don't even know what that is. I really don't, really.
- 25:04Speaker 2: That's the first question. I was nervous. I think I'm
- 25:06Speaker 2: not a lifeline trust me, ai Andy. What the hell
- 25:09Speaker 2: is nitrogen? Sure?
- 25:11Speaker 8: Nitrogen is basically a colorless, odorless gas that makes up
- 25:14Speaker 8: a huge chunk of the air around us, Like almost
- 25:16Speaker 8: seventy eight percent of the air you breathe is nitrogen.
- 25:18Speaker 1: It's in a lot of things.
- 25:20Speaker 8: It's used in fertilizers for plants, it's in some food
- 25:22Speaker 8: packaging to keep things fresh, and it's even using things
- 25:25Speaker 8: like the medical field for cooling. So yeah, it's everywhere
- 25:28Speaker 8: around you, even if you don't see.
- 25:29Speaker 1: It interesting, not at all anyway. What is it?
- 25:34Speaker 7: So?
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah, how do you make nitrogen? Yeah? Absolutely? How do
- 25:38Speaker 1: you cook it up? What's the ingredients?
- 25:42Speaker 8: Well, that's kind of the fun part. You don't exactly
- 25:45Speaker 8: cook up nitrogen like a recipe with ingredients.
- 25:48Speaker 2: It's really just everywhere in the air already.
- 25:50Speaker 8: If you want pure nitrogen, usually what people do is
- 25:53Speaker 8: they separate it out from the air through industrial processes
- 25:57Speaker 8: like they take air and cool it down or use
- 26:00Speaker 8: certain filters to pull the nitrogen out, so it's less
- 26:02Speaker 8: of a cooking thing and more of a just extract
- 26:05Speaker 8: it from the air.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Kind of thing.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yeah, dummy, you don't cook it.
- 26:09Speaker 2: He sounds a little nervous.
- 26:10Speaker 1: You can't put in the air fryer either. You can't
- 26:12Speaker 1: make it in there. How do I make air fried nitrogen?
- 26:16Speaker 9: Oh?
- 26:17Speaker 8: Absolutely, I'll just grab the imaginary took book of science,
- 26:20Speaker 8: fitch him and see what we've got. In all seriousness, Yeah,
- 26:24Speaker 8: the recipe exists for air fried nitrogen, but it's a
- 26:27Speaker 8: fun concept. If anyone ever figures out how to put
- 26:30Speaker 8: a gas in an air fryer, that'll be a whole
- 26:32Speaker 8: new level of cooking magic.
- 26:35Speaker 1: He's a little smart, a little smart.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Ash trivia man.
- 26:40Speaker 9: It's like the universe asking us questions, you know, Yeah,
- 26:47Speaker 9: a blazing confused podcast.
- 26:49Speaker 1: All right, mister Becker, your turn.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Question number one.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Roger Daltrey is the lead singer of what classic rock band?
- 26:58Speaker 1: The shitty thing is that I know that guy, I
- 27:01Speaker 1: know the name. You'll be able to do this terrible
- 27:04Speaker 1: at putting them together. So funny because this morning I
- 27:07Speaker 1: woke up I clean my apartment and I put on
- 27:09Speaker 1: an album from this band, and I thought, there's no
- 27:11Speaker 1: way that Becker would know that Roger Daltrey is the
- 27:14Speaker 1: lead singer of this band. Rock that's so bad, man.
- 27:17Speaker 1: You gotta brush up on your basic classic rock knowledge.
- 27:20Speaker 1: It's not gonna come to me. Do you want to
- 27:23Speaker 1: go to your lifelines? On the first question, I like, there.
- 27:27Speaker 3: An era the eighties, righties, really sixties, really late sixties, seventies,
- 27:35Speaker 3: eighties' real shitty right now about it? Roger Daltrey is
- 27:38Speaker 3: the lead singer of what band? Do you have any
- 27:42Speaker 3: talk it out? What's in your But I can't hold on,
- 27:44Speaker 3: hold on what's in your brain? I want to say
- 27:46Speaker 3: like led Zeppelin s.
- 27:47Speaker 7: You know what I mean?
- 27:49Speaker 2: It's not okay led Zeppelin around?
- 27:52Speaker 1: Then sure, yeah, yeah, I don't fucking know, dude, I
- 28:00Speaker 1: have no I I cannot. It's not gonna click for me.
- 28:03Speaker 1: You can give it up on this question, I think
- 28:04Speaker 1: so yeah. I feel really great about myself right now.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I'll tell you that, aren't you some dj?
- 28:09Speaker 2: Unquote?
- 28:11Speaker 1: Didn't you work at some radio station that played crusty
- 28:13Speaker 1: old rock? Such an asshole? Good?
- 28:18Speaker 7: Who?
- 28:18Speaker 8: Who?
- 28:21Speaker 1: I should have known that? I did know that as
- 28:23Speaker 1: soon as you said it.
- 28:24Speaker 5: Question too.
- 28:25Speaker 3: All right, we're gonna go with middle school English.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Middle school English, the category question you'd probably get wrong.
- 28:34Speaker 1: What point of view? Uses he? She or they? Point
- 28:40Speaker 1: of view? Meaning like what person?
- 28:42Speaker 2: Oh?
- 28:44Speaker 1: You know what I mean? What point of view? Yeah?
- 28:46Speaker 1: What person? First person? Third person, sixty, ninth person? No, okay, gotcha.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Oh that was a big hint. You should have just
- 28:53Speaker 2: let him go with it.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Well, this is this is a yeah, really I should
- 28:56Speaker 1: let you fall the second person? What first person is?
- 29:01Speaker 5: Is you?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Like me? Right?
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Like I?
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah? Rather, that's that's what I meant.
- 29:07Speaker 3: This is when I stopped paying attention in English, when
- 29:10Speaker 3: they started putting numbers with English.
- 29:12Speaker 1: The fuck is that? You know?
- 29:14Speaker 2: I mean? Now, I don't know the difference between second
- 29:17Speaker 2: and third person.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Middle school English? What point of view uses he? She
- 29:22Speaker 1: or they? Second person? I don't think it's third person,
- 29:32Speaker 1: because if you're talking in third person, you're like Becker,
- 29:36Speaker 1: like Becker would go to the store after this? You know,
- 29:41Speaker 1: I thought it was second person, second person. The final answer,
- 29:47Speaker 1: damn it, it's third Personay, So give an example, Yeah, it's
- 29:51Speaker 1: third person.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Use it a sentence, yeah, and use both. You can't
- 29:54Speaker 2: even use it in a sentence without looking it up.
- 29:57Speaker 2: This is the ship that I'm going through right now?
- 29:59Speaker 1: Shut up, all right? Could you? All right?
- 30:01Speaker 5: No?
- 30:01Speaker 1: Third person? He she they him, heard them, his hair, theirs.
- 30:06Speaker 1: He walked into the room like he all in the place.
- 30:09Speaker 1: She said the concert last night was the best she's
- 30:12Speaker 1: ever seen. They're already planning their next big weekend getaway.
- 30:17Speaker 1: So yeah, those would be a few examples. Question three,
- 30:22Speaker 1: Let's go with Classic TV. H Classic TV. They were
- 30:27Speaker 1: the first televangelists who hosted a show called The PTL Club.
- 30:33Speaker 1: They were a married couple. What were their names?
- 30:37Speaker 6: Fuck my god, I was gonna say the seven hundred
- 30:39Speaker 6: Club and then you said something about a club.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Are they known like people would know?
- 30:44Speaker 1: Well, they're very known now because there was a huge controversy.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I think.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I think the dude was like stealing money from the
- 30:50Speaker 3: organization or whatever.
- 30:52Speaker 1: They were super rich.
- 30:52Speaker 3: They were the first like pastors on TV, but they
- 30:54Speaker 3: weren't pastors.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Like, did you know their name before this?
- 30:57Speaker 1: I did because I watched the Netflix documentary.
- 30:59Speaker 2: But I know who in my head, I know who
- 31:01Speaker 2: they are.
- 31:02Speaker 1: I have no idea. What yeah, what's up? I said,
- 31:06Speaker 1: I watched the documentary about them. I think it was
- 31:08Speaker 1: on Netflix. I have no idea. I have no idea.
- 31:13Speaker 1: You're gonna have to give this the old buzzer, the
- 31:15Speaker 1: old buzzer. Yeah, Jim and Tammy Faye Baker. I would
- 31:20Speaker 1: never have known that.
- 31:20Speaker 2: No, I don't think I would have been there.
- 31:22Speaker 1: No, let's figure out what's up with them. Hang on,
- 31:24Speaker 1: I could give a ship based on the description of
- 31:28Speaker 1: why he was arrested. Oh yeah, I guess I want
- 31:30Speaker 1: to know that part.
- 31:32Speaker 2: And if it's a documentary, you have to watch, all right.
- 31:35Speaker 3: So they were a power couple in seventies and eighties,
- 31:37Speaker 3: famous for their TV ministry and the PTL Club show.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Built for a massive oh oh oh, now I remember this.
- 31:45Speaker 3: They built this giant Christian theme park, like a Disneyland,
- 31:50Speaker 3: but like a Christian I do remember Disneyland.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Gobs and gobs and gobs and money off this. Jim
- 31:58Speaker 3: Baker was later convicted of fraud and sent to prison.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Then she like reinvented herself. Tammy Fey reinvented herself later
- 32:05Speaker 3: in life and became a pop culture figure quote unquote.
- 32:08Speaker 3: I think she passed away. Then he's still around. He's
- 32:11Speaker 3: out of jail now. But yeah, they started like a
- 32:14Speaker 3: god Disneyland?
- 32:16Speaker 2: What makes it? What's in the theme park that's god?
- 32:19Speaker 7: Like?
- 32:19Speaker 2: Statues of Jesus?
- 32:22Speaker 1: Yeah, well instead of instead of the teacups, you ride
- 32:24Speaker 1: on the Cross the Christ Coaster, Christ.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Parting the Red Sea.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Question for parting the Red Sea, it's like a water park.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Aful, it's red?
- 32:47Speaker 1: Oh man? Oh, this is a fun question, but it
- 32:51Speaker 1: won't be for me.
- 32:52Speaker 3: But it won't be for you. No, you should be
- 32:54Speaker 3: able to get this, well maybe not. How old is
- 32:57Speaker 3: Roger Daltrey?
- 33:01Speaker 1: Uh?
- 33:02Speaker 3: Let's go with us geography? What state has the most
- 33:06Speaker 3: national parks? Have you ever been to a national park?
- 33:12Speaker 1: I don't think so. I don't think so. I've been
- 33:16Speaker 1: in many state parks, but I don't think so. Have
- 33:19Speaker 1: you No? I think you know if you've been to one?
- 33:22Speaker 2: Right? Right?
- 33:23Speaker 1: Well, I love how we don't know have park?
- 33:27Speaker 2: How do you know it's a national park and on
- 33:28Speaker 2: a state park?
- 33:29Speaker 1: Like? That's one? Right? Yeah, I've never been to that?
- 33:32Speaker 1: Is that? A sure? Probably it wants to. I've been
- 33:36Speaker 1: in a parking lot.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Funny they all have them.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Read it again? What state has the most national parks.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I would think.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. Yeah, I'm trying to think actually Midwest.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I was trying, I'm gonna go with my lifeline.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Ian can I give a guest?
- 33:59Speaker 1: So sure? After you?
- 34:00Speaker 2: Okay, Utah, that's what I was going to say.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Utah, is that what you were gonna say?
- 34:07Speaker 2: That's what I was gonna say.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Utah, I'm gonna go with that. Is it like fucking
- 34:11Speaker 1: Wyoming or something? California?
- 34:13Speaker 2: Oh really, that was not on my radar.
- 34:15Speaker 1: And there are nine. Wow, I had no idea. We
- 34:19Speaker 1: did learn something today. That's usually the goal.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Are you gonna remember it?
- 34:24Speaker 1: California National Parks are Yosemite, Sekoia, King's Canyon, Death Valley,
- 34:34Speaker 1: Joshua Tree. I that one Redwood? Uh, pinnacles? Is that
- 34:41Speaker 1: what the word is? P I N N A C
- 34:44Speaker 1: l E S. There.
- 34:46Speaker 2: You get a good job.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Thank you, very thank you very much, thank you.
- 34:51Speaker 5: Uh.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And last but not least last in Volcanic National Park.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I like to see a volcano. I think that'd be
- 34:57Speaker 1: pretty cool.
- 34:57Speaker 2: That would be amazing.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I get that you gotta stay far away, though, I'd
- 35:02Speaker 1: be a little worried you fall in. It's like hot
- 35:05Speaker 1: lava and shit, if it's active, you can't get that close.
- 35:08Speaker 1: If it's active.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Well, I watched documentary it was active, and they all died.
- 35:14Speaker 2: They excluded you watch the documentary?
- 35:16Speaker 1: Was that Pompeii.
- 35:18Speaker 2: That's a different one a while ago. That's a question
- 35:22Speaker 2: which country is the most volcanoes? What country has the
- 35:25Speaker 2: most volcanoes? Maybe most active volcanos?
- 35:28Speaker 1: Who was asking the questions? Do you know the answer?
- 35:33Speaker 2: I don't. I was gonna say Italy.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But answer, Oh, that's funny.
- 35:39Speaker 6: Italy though, because if I'm right, then I don't think
- 35:41Speaker 6: it's Italy.
- 35:42Speaker 1: It's a question what country has the most active volcanoes? Indonesia.
- 35:47Speaker 1: I've asked that a trivia night before another one. You
- 35:50Speaker 1: didn't retain. Yeah, one hundred and twenty active volcanoes.
- 35:55Speaker 2: They're on the verge of collapse.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Wow, is Indonesia Indonesia? Indonesia a syllable? Just a volcano?
- 36:05Speaker 1: I don't know one hundred and twenty of them. Shut up,
- 36:10Speaker 1: you're stupid. Go to the next one. Go to what
- 36:12Speaker 1: I hate today.
- 36:15Speaker 5: What you're about to learn? Absolutely nothing? Go Blazed and
- 36:20Speaker 5: Confused podcast.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Oh I thought I had more questions, No, we did four,
- 36:24Speaker 1: Thank god, they're over. Did we do four?
- 36:26Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 36:26Speaker 2: You did four each?
- 36:27Speaker 1: Okay cool. Yeah, somebody's got to be keeping tracking. This
- 36:29Speaker 1: is why we have guests.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I counted.
- 36:32Speaker 1: We want to do some Black Friday horror stories here. Well, yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 1: tell us a story about some of your retail nightmares,
- 36:37Speaker 1: crazy customer shit, because Black Friday is coming up tomorrow
- 36:39Speaker 1: and people get crazy for.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Deals just on Black Friday.
- 36:43Speaker 1: No, it's not true.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I mean, oh my god, I mean.
- 36:47Speaker 1: You're just your retail horror stories, I.
- 36:49Speaker 6: Mean Black Friday. The biggest one was probably there was
- 36:53Speaker 6: a fistfight because we ran out of boxes like gift
- 36:56Speaker 6: boxes to give and this guy who was not happy
- 36:59Speaker 6: and so going to the dog sort of get his
- 37:00Speaker 6: own box. We didn't have any left, and he started
- 37:04Speaker 6: yelling at one of our employees and the fight happened. Well,
- 37:09Speaker 6: didentifight the employee. Another customer got involved.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Oh okay, so.
- 37:12Speaker 6: That was pretty crazy. Jesus, but Black Friday starts earlier.
- 37:15Speaker 6: Now it starts on Thanksgiving. Well back then it did.
- 37:17Speaker 6: I don't know if it still does, but it's just
- 37:20Speaker 6: people go nuts.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I just remember like watching it on the news the
- 37:22Speaker 1: next day. They'd have footage of people like the doors
- 37:24Speaker 1: opening and just people like pushing each other out of
- 37:27Speaker 1: the way just to get what, just to get.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Warm, get nothing, to get nothing, to get angry that
- 37:33Speaker 2: they're not getting what they want to get angry.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah, how long did you work retail? Did you only
- 37:38Speaker 1: work at Victoria's Secrets?
- 37:39Speaker 6: I only worked at Victoria's Secret, but I worked at
- 37:41Speaker 6: a couple miles. I probably worked for five to six years,
- 37:43Speaker 6: different positions.
- 37:45Speaker 2: But always with people. And you like it. So I
- 37:48Speaker 2: hated it. I no.
- 37:52Speaker 6: I liked the background stuff, like I liked the five ams,
- 37:55Speaker 6: not talking to people, like the merchandising.
- 37:56Speaker 2: But people were the worst.
- 37:59Speaker 1: When you work in retail is just terrible. Every day. Yeah,
- 38:02Speaker 1: most literally every day there's a problem.
- 38:05Speaker 6: Yeah, you think you're having a good day and then
- 38:07Speaker 6: somebody comes in and just that sucks, ruins it.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Or you get stolen from and you can't do anything
- 38:11Speaker 2: about it, like stolen from.
- 38:14Speaker 6: Like yeah, so we would have big tables out front
- 38:17Speaker 6: and you would just put all the brand new stuff
- 38:18Speaker 6: out and people know, they like keep track of that
- 38:21Speaker 6: when new stuff comes out, and they'll come and swipe
- 38:23Speaker 6: your whole entire front table and you kind of have
- 38:26Speaker 6: to wave and say, well, follow an Instagram page that
- 38:30Speaker 6: sells all the stolen stuff. We've all followed it back then,
- 38:32Speaker 6: and we'd be like, well that was stolen from us.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Or we'd call each other and like, hey, they hit
- 38:36Speaker 6: our sore, they're coming to you.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Have you seen the videos of like the Apple store
- 38:40Speaker 3: getting raw before where the staff just stands there and like.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Cause they have to.
- 38:44Speaker 1: They're just why you're instructed to just let people steal
- 38:47Speaker 1: from you if.
- 38:48Speaker 6: They're well, so, if you're following somebody that you think
- 38:51Speaker 6: is stealing, and we know that they're stealing, they're acting
- 38:53Speaker 6: like they're in groups, we know they they start yelling
- 38:56Speaker 6: at you to try back you off, and then they
- 38:59Speaker 6: can say certain things where you know you're gonna get
- 39:01Speaker 6: in trouble, like you're profiling them or you're following them
- 39:06Speaker 6: for no reason, so then you have to back off.
- 39:08Speaker 6: You know that they're stealing. And then once you see
- 39:10Speaker 6: them steiling, they say, well you don't want to get hit,
- 39:13Speaker 6: or you can't touch them if they if you even
- 39:15Speaker 6: swipe their bag or something, you touch them, then it
- 39:18Speaker 6: doesn't matter. You're the one that's in trouble. So it
- 39:21Speaker 6: would be and people would do they line their bags
- 39:25Speaker 6: with like lining stuff that won't set off the metal
- 39:28Speaker 6: detectors they have, like the sensors. They bring stuff in
- 39:32Speaker 6: that they can just unclip the sensors or some people
- 39:34Speaker 6: literally just don't care if I'm not organized like that
- 39:36Speaker 6: and just I mean.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Literally take a whole table, the whole table.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Have you ever stolen anything?
- 39:45Speaker 2: Uh? No, never, I'm trying to think.
- 39:49Speaker 1: I mean no, like what steal? What? What would I
- 39:52Speaker 1: have stolen? I know, why are you looking at me
- 39:54Speaker 1: like I'm lying, Mike, you've stolen?
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:56Speaker 1: What have you stolen? I remember being very ung like
- 40:00Speaker 1: with my mom at a store and I think I
- 40:02Speaker 1: grabbed like super glue the one time for whatever reason,
- 40:06Speaker 1: was like a six year old no young and maybe
- 40:12Speaker 1: magnet from a store in the mall. Yeah, that rhymes
- 40:17Speaker 1: with Streensers.
- 40:21Speaker 6: I think everybody's gone into Stensers.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Have you gone to Streensers lately? Streensers?
- 40:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Spencers No, No, the other Streensers I'm talking about.
- 40:31Speaker 2: No.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I think maybe I was there when I was in
- 40:36Speaker 1: the seventh grade. Is that the store that has like
- 40:38Speaker 1: dildos and ship in the back in the back, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 1: I remember getting kicked out of there when I was
- 40:43Speaker 1: in the middle When I was in middle school, I
- 40:44Speaker 1: was there with a group of friends and I went
- 40:46Speaker 1: in the back and put on a hat that had
- 40:48Speaker 1: a big, giant penis coming off of it, and I
- 40:51Speaker 1: had somebody take my picture with this hat on, and
- 40:53Speaker 1: some woman came and yelled at me and kicked me out.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Apparently you're not supposed to try a dickhead. Yeah, God,
- 41:01Speaker 1: I loved it. That's what the hat was called. It
- 41:03Speaker 1: was called the dick head hat. Look at me. Now
- 41:10Speaker 1: we have a snack today? Or no? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 41:12Speaker 1: we right through the much minute. Did you get the
- 41:14Speaker 1: thing from the thing I did? Did you actually? Holy shit?
- 41:16Speaker 1: Hold on and I'll get the thing from the thing
- 41:18Speaker 1: that thing there. I forget which thing you actually got,
- 41:22Speaker 1: so it'll be a surprised to me.
- 41:23Speaker 2: What's the snack thing?
- 41:24Speaker 1: So we do the munchy minute, okay, and we just
- 41:27Speaker 1: talk about a random snack or whatevered. No, I usually
- 41:33Speaker 1: grab just random shit that maybe he's never had, like
- 41:35Speaker 1: I think in my head, like, oh, try something new.
- 41:39Speaker 1: We were talking about this on the last episode because
- 41:41Speaker 1: there's a hemp there's a hemp harvest festival coming up soon.
- 41:45Speaker 1: We're going to be at it December sixth, right, and uh,
- 41:48Speaker 1: it's in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. And then we started talking about
- 41:52Speaker 1: Lebanon viloney and I couldn't remember the last time I
- 41:55Speaker 1: had it. Honestly, I never bought it as an adult,
- 41:57Speaker 1: So I thought you should. You never had it. I've
- 42:00Speaker 1: had probably when I was a kid.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Do we consider this a snack?
- 42:03Speaker 1: No? Yeah, this is the first lunch meat we've done on.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Then the deli needs coming out. It's time for.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Oh man, this doesn't make sense now.
- 42:20Speaker 3: I thought you said last week that you've never had
- 42:23Speaker 3: Lebanon malone.
- 42:24Speaker 1: It's been since I was a kid. I really don't
- 42:26Speaker 1: remember what it tastes like.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so I got Lebanon maloney because last week we
- 42:30Speaker 3: were talking about the Hemp harvest Fest, which is the
- 42:33Speaker 3: first weekend of December.
- 42:35Speaker 1: You've been Lebanon, Lebanon Valley.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Community Center exactly, community Center, Convention Center rather.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah, don't go to the community center.
- 42:43Speaker 2: The weed best at the community Center.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Don't show up the center, go to the convention center.
- 42:49Speaker 3: No, But we were talking it's in Lebanon, PA, And
- 42:51Speaker 3: I thought, whoa you ever have Levionon maloney I'll admit
- 42:56Speaker 3: so I bought some so we can try today.
- 42:58Speaker 1: This doesn't look that good. It really does not wait
- 43:04Speaker 1: to try it. It looks like a I've got Why
- 43:06Speaker 1: does it look like it was good? About a year
- 43:08Speaker 1: and a half ago.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I was gonna say, does it looks like you bought that?
- 43:12Speaker 1: Smells okay, though, smell it all right? Let me see here.
- 43:17Speaker 2: So how's this different from regular balooney?
- 43:19Speaker 1: It's like, man, it smells good. Yeah, I haven't had
- 43:23Speaker 1: this since my childhood. It's very excited. You didn't want
- 43:26Speaker 1: to take a piece for yourself. I'll take a slab
- 43:30Speaker 1: and you tick a slab. If you guys want a
- 43:33Speaker 1: piece of baloney, you'll try it.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I don't mind balooney.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's pretty good. Yeah, it's definitely not your
- 43:47Speaker 1: regular bologna.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Oh let's see. This is pretty good.
- 43:53Speaker 1: It's like blogoney, but like it tastes more like a
- 43:55Speaker 1: slim gem blooney.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I could suck this.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Up for for lunch.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Okay. And you were judging me when I got the
- 44:03Speaker 1: slab of meat out of my friend.
- 44:04Speaker 2: You were talking about snacks and you brought out deli meat.
- 44:08Speaker 1: What would you put on this? It's like a mustard, yeah, mustard. Yeah.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Would you put some kind of cheese with it, like
- 44:14Speaker 1: a cheddar or something? Yeah, this is really good.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Would maybe just do American?
- 44:17Speaker 1: You know what I would do lemonon maloney and tomatoes?
- 44:22Speaker 2: Never mind, you don't like any tomato at all?
- 44:27Speaker 1: I'm chewing sorry, not really ever on a burger. No,
- 44:30Speaker 1: definitely not. I think it ruins food like that HOGI No.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Do you like tomato soup?
- 44:36Speaker 2: Mm hmm, okay, tomato sauce.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I just don't like slimy tomatoes.
- 44:43Speaker 2: And grape tomatoes.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I don't know if I know what that is. Tomatoes
- 44:46Speaker 1: will look like grape. I don't really. I don't know the.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Question before what other kind of tomatoes you got?
- 44:59Speaker 1: Jesus I anyway, I don't want any of them. You
- 45:03Speaker 1: like Lebanon BLOONEA.
- 45:04Speaker 2: So it's from the town of Lebanon, is how you
- 45:06Speaker 2: say it? Lebanon.
- 45:07Speaker 3: I don't think it's from the town of Lebanon at all.
- 45:09Speaker 3: It's a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. Yeah, maybe that's maybe that's
- 45:12Speaker 3: how Lebanon the town of Lebanon got their name Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
- 45:15Speaker 3: They were like, you know what the baloney. Hey, what
- 45:18Speaker 3: a name.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Lebanon. Great name for a town. And they had a
- 45:21Speaker 1: vote and they were like, it's ours. Yeah done, Lebanon
- 45:24Speaker 1: copyright that shit. Yes, I think that's exactly what happened.
- 45:27Speaker 1: It was I'm a historian. Yeah, of Lebanon.
