- 1:27SPEAKER_04: Just came from back to school night with the youngest, so you know.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: Uh two dogs on my side, you know, like literally two dogs on my side.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: That's you know, ready for war or sleep, whichever.
- 1:38SPEAKER_04: I'm here.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Always sleep.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: You know, they ain't doing nothing like that.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: Let's get it.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, I ain't.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: I got two dogs right outside my door here.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: So that's probably that'll probably be Mark.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: You know what it is.
- 1:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know what it is.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: How did y'all two?
- 1:57SPEAKER_03: Well, it's three of y'all.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Well, shout out the brother that's not here.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Johnny Butler, Johnny J.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Butler.
- 2:03unknown: Yeah.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Philly's finest.
- 2:06SPEAKER_04: Philly's finest.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: All right, you supposed to be out here rapping for Philly.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: He owe me an hour.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:13SPEAKER_04: We're trying to get those sixes next tickets, but you know.
- 2:16SPEAKER_04: A little pricey.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: A little pricey.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Listen a little bit now.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: This season.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Two seasons ago.
- 2:24SPEAKER_04: No, we were good.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: Not now.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: Uh y'all three come together.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: How'd y'all three get started?
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: Uh well, for I mean, first of all, we all DJs.
- 2:37SPEAKER_04: Um, I knew prior I knew priority from right, yeah.
- 2:43SPEAKER_04: Patterson.
- 2:44SPEAKER_04: Patterson, I was in Passake.
- 2:46SPEAKER_04: It's like one town in between us, but we were doing music for like the same artist um at the time.
- 2:53SPEAKER_04: But he he was doing college radio.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: Um, I was doing radio.
- 2:58SPEAKER_04: Um, John Butler, I met John Butler at uh a brewery um through another person who had a DJ.
- 3:08SPEAKER_04: And um, we just we just connected on conversation, sports, art, uh, music in general, and he's also a girl dad, so it worked out.
- 3:18SPEAKER_04: So we had similar conversations.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: So um we just you know, like they always say form Voltron, if the vibes is right, you put it together and you and you push it forward.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: That sounds familiar.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that sounds familiar.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: So yeah, no, the my the my story is the same.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: Like I met probably the first time I remembered meeting ACL was was we we produced beats too, so we produced for artists also, so it was on that level, it wasn't even on a DJ level.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was I think I actually either went to his house in Persake with V, probably most likely.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: I think so, yeah.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: I think that's what it was.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: And he was probably playing beats for V, and I just was there just to show support or love or whatever, and um, and then I actually started doing mixes online, and I used to reach out to all the DJs I knew to do drops for him.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: And I reached out to ACL, he did a drop for me.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: This was like maybe 2013-ish, 14-ish.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: And um, he did a drop, a bunch of people did drops for me, and um and then later on I'm back into DJing, and then I meet him again.
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: So, like a full circle moment, yeah.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: It's like full circle, then vinyl society pops out.
- 4:49SPEAKER_04: Yep, and then uh we push push the envelope, push the envelope, definitely.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: And vinyl society is DJing events strictly on vinyls.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Y'all doing 45s when y'all pop out, right?
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: We do we we do it all, we do it all 45s, 12 inches, and we do digital too.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, I know we're we're primarily because y'all still y'all still pull up with a crate every now and again.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: A rare you know thing to see when you catch DJs outside right now.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: So yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: No, no, we we definitely make the announcement when it's digital, so you know it's not misconstrued.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: Where you know, if people say, Oh, y'all vine, I thought y'all would spend a vinyl.
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: When you look at the the flyer or the posting, it's gonna say vinyl society digital.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: So let you know we'll specify for those kind of things.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: That's the price, you know.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: That depends on what your budget looks like.
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: There's some people on that small bus, you know.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: And apparently the bus ain't as small as we thought it was.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: It might be it might be it might be an e-bike at this point.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: I don't know, but they out there.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: It's a bunch of them on that bike, then uh let me yeah, so you switched the with the digital.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Do y'all think that loses the art of DJing if you switch to digital?
- 6:09SPEAKER_03: Yes, I was like, somebody said no.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: So now I need now, I need both of y'all.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: No, no, we no, that's why we're here.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: That's why we are break it down.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: So break it down.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: Why do you say yes?
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: All right, so being that I'm sleepy, you said it changes the DJ.
- 6:33SPEAKER_04: Uh what was the question?
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: The DJ, yeah.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 6:38SPEAKER_04: I I say I say it's a it's it's both.
- 6:41SPEAKER_04: It's two-sided.
- 6:42SPEAKER_04: I won't say completely, but it's two-sided because I think of it like this, is my opinion.
- 6:50SPEAKER_04: When I I don't know if there's diners down there that have like a jukebox at the tables in the booth, right?
- 6:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so you you put your money in, you press that button, right?
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: Or you press how many songs you paid for.
- 7:03SPEAKER_04: You're actually DJing right now, right?
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:06SPEAKER_04: Kind of, sorta.
- 7:08SPEAKER_04: You're not mixing, you're not anything.
- 7:10SPEAKER_04: So digital gives the sort of quote unquote layman or the person who I just want to have fun um the opportunity to say I'm a DJ.
- 7:24SPEAKER_04: Give them that that title, that moniker, because it's used loosely.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: So a disc jockey is should be able to entertain without a playlist who can switch on a dime.
- 7:39SPEAKER_04: Nothing is preset or pre-tempo to where all these songs are at this tempo, so it's an easier mix.
- 7:47SPEAKER_04: You should be able to do, and this again, this is me, because I know I don't do that.
- 7:52SPEAKER_04: Um, but I think it takes away from the title of being a DJ.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: It helps, definitely helps in certain situations, but you still have to have the skills, whether it's digital or vinyl, to rock.
- 8:05SPEAKER_04: If you don't have it, then you're you're you're a selector at this point.
- 8:09SPEAKER_04: When they call selectors, you're just selecting music and you're playing it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_04: So the term DJ really is useless loosely used for a lot of people.
- 8:19SPEAKER_03: You're gonna say it's a loose, but uh, so why do you disagree with what he said?
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: So so technically it's not a disagreement, okay.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: It's it's uh I think you caught him before he spoke because but no, he I think he changed or he uh he elaborated deeper, right?
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: So I'm in the same boat, so it's like I know I think any DJ that started on vinyl, you know, in the 90s and they built their crates up and they got a couple thousand or even a couple hundred records, and you went through that era of bringing crates of records and having to be strong and all that stuff carrying, you look at it completely different about the digital world because for us, the digital world helps us because now I don't have to bring crates, now I can just bring a laptop and a controller, and I still have the skills that I have with records of beat matching, and maybe I'm scratching, maybe I'm doing a little bit more.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: The the bad thing about it is if you don't have that background and you start on digital, right?
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: You really don't have to learn the same aspects that we learned without it, because the digital helps you do a lot of things and it by one button or one button press, or or you don't have to have the the great ear that some of the older guys got or some of the veteran guys have, because it'll do that for you.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: So, you know, it's a gift and a curse with anything and everything.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: So you just have to you take it like I when I see a guy that's on digital, I don't automatically think he's whacked.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: Um, I just have to listen to him, and you can you can still tell, even with the digital, you can still tell if somebody just started last week versus somebody started 10 years ago.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: So it's it's nuances, it's small nuances that the digital just can't replace.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: You know, the aspects of the game have changed in 2026 too.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Like no one's listening for that transition that vinyl provides, opposed to the transition you can get with digital, because it is a wider way to get the job done.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean it's it's funny because when we do events, we have all types of different people that come up and are actually listening, they're not just listening to dance, they're listening for the transitions.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're listening for the remixes.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: I do that.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: I absolutely find myself doing that when I go out.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: I was like, I can tell the DJ is corny because he just went to the next song.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: Like, where's the where's the mix?
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Where's the slide?
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: Like, why is this one after that song?
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Like, if I go out and I think to myself, I got a better playlist in the car, I'm mad I came out.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: And that defeats the purpose for me because I'm I'm full now.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: I know what I know what good it's supposed to be.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: So so that's so that's a good, that's a good one.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: So when you go, what's more important?
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Is it to have fun or is it to listen to the DJ's transitions and beat selection or track selection?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: I'm a I'm the outside person who goes out and I'm vibing with what the DJ got going on if it's flowing right.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, you know, I don't mind distracting myself, hanging out with my friends, you go out with your people, you go out with your people.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: But when I'm out, like I'm I expect there to be some good DJ play because he's getting paid to be here, you know.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: I just I I know folks that hustle for their money, and it means every time, you know.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: Do you wait?
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: Do you want to hear things that are that you don't know or things you do know?
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: There should be a good mix of both.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm a stickler for that.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: Like, let me throw in some old school, throw it behind this beat.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Like, I hear that stuff on TikTok all the time now, where it's like they throw old school beat over some lyrics from last summer and it it bops.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: It bops.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: I will say that I love a creative TikTok mix, they're gonna get me every time.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: And it's like if that sauce was applied when I was outside, it'd be I'd be outside a lot more.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And I like outside.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: So, like just saying that that brings me outside.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: I know I got a couple DJs in Charleston, they're gonna put on a good show when I'm out.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: I know I got a couple good DJs in Jersey, they gonna put it on a good show when I'm out, even in the ville.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Like, it just I I go to the places where I know I'm gonna hear what I want to hear, not even in the sense of the songs, but it's the vibe.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's a good DJ to me.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: I know you followed the vibe when you came outside.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Everybody was bumping from the time we heard the music outside the club to the moment we was carrying our shoes out.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: That's a good DJ to me.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: That's a good DJ to me.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: What I'm hearing is the digital, you lose the art of DJing.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: A little bit of the art, yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and also the creativity.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: A lot of the art.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: Huh?
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: Also the creativity.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: You lose the creativity when you do it.
- 13:24SPEAKER_04: Well, digital, you I I believe well now digital can give you more creativity because it's not it's not tangible anymore, it's a file, you know.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: But at the same time have to figure out how to do it because the button I've I've I've played one party with four turntables, I've played one party with three turntables.
- 13:47SPEAKER_04: So now the digital with Serrado gives you four turntables inside the computer, so you can have four different records going at the same time as a mashup, which makes it sound incredible.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: But if you actually did it back in the day with four turntables and four different, and you kept tempo and you kept the fader here, it's almost like nobody's gonna do that now because you've got digital and it's gonna keep it on before you right.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: So your ear is listening to four different songs at once, and you're keeping the party rocking, and you know when to take one out and whatever, nothing's and and it's it's an incredible thing to see, it's very hard to do, but now with digital, it just syncs everything up.
- 14:34SPEAKER_04: You can loop it so it can continuously go.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: That's what you mainly hear, and then you have stems.
- 14:40SPEAKER_04: It's it's again, like P said, it's a gift and a curse, but skill skill is always gonna overrule everything.
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: You you're gonna need skill at some point, and you have to know music, yeah.
- 14:55SPEAKER_04: Because you it you can you you there's a playlist.
- 15:01SPEAKER_04: Oh, I I can share my playlist.
- 15:03SPEAKER_04: You get the playlist.
- 15:04SPEAKER_04: Can you really rock her playlist?
- 15:07SPEAKER_04: You might know some of the songs, but you might not know.
- 15:09SPEAKER_04: So now you got files that you might not touch, or you might not ever play out because that's not you.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: So a true DJ has a sound, just like a producer.
- 15:22SPEAKER_04: There's a there's a vein of where, oh, he's very comfortable here.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: If he can do it all, great.
- 15:29SPEAKER_04: But when somebody shares a whole folder or file or a terabyte of music, you didn't put that together, so that's not you.
- 15:39SPEAKER_04: It makes it hard because now when you play that, you're really playing somebody else's selections.
- 15:45SPEAKER_04: You didn't choose those records.
- 15:47SPEAKER_04: I mean, Louis, we can we can take a double double LP, like a Beyonce album.
- 15:53SPEAKER_04: You got all these songs.
- 15:54SPEAKER_04: Somebody gives you a file like, oh yeah, there's Beyonce on there.
- 15:58SPEAKER_04: But the songs you looking for ain't in those, ain't in the files you got.
- 16:02SPEAKER_04: It's like, why you ain't got these songs?
- 16:03SPEAKER_04: It was on the album.
- 16:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, I don't like those.
- 16:06SPEAKER_04: But I shared it with you because it was quick, fast.
- 16:09SPEAKER_04: Now you like I wasn't looking for that.
- 16:11SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 16:12SPEAKER_04: So that's that's the part of you know, uh, of sharing files, even with records.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: I mean, we me, Pete, we still record shop together.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: I'm like, yo, you got this, you got this, and like, no, I'll pass.
- 16:26SPEAKER_04: And then at some point, might come back to it.
- 16:28SPEAKER_04: It's something for him because we buy music for what we what we love, what we hear.
- 16:35SPEAKER_04: The radio spoon feeds you what they think you need to hear, so they're gonna beat you down with that until you learn it like a nursery rhyme.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I that that plenty is many of them.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Just make me not like it anymore.
- 16:51SPEAKER_04: That sounds real corny, but it's got a bop to it because you don't heard it so many times, it's it's just one of those things.
- 17:00SPEAKER_04: It's like, yeah, I know it because I hear it all the damn time, you know, and it's so it's like, what else you got?
- 17:08SPEAKER_04: So I think being a DJ, you have to curate and know your audience, but your your job and your responsibility is to introduce you to something old that might be new to you, or vice versa, something new that you probably never got around to because that's not your that's not your lane.
- 17:31SPEAKER_04: And you know, you're supposed to learn from every generation.
- 17:36SPEAKER_04: Like I learned from my daughters, you know, and what they listen to, and I'm like, oh, that is that's kind of dope.
- 17:42SPEAKER_04: I I had no clue.
- 17:43SPEAKER_04: Right, you know, and I have to incorporate that because I get what they like, but if it really, if it's really rocking, I'm rocking with it.
- 17:53SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: P you saw that you saw that post, right?
- 17:57SPEAKER_04: Of Duvall's and when we was in Brooklyn.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:01SPEAKER_04: He said, yo, you the vinyl society gotta do a party for the kitties.
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: I was like, hey man, listen.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: And it's like, I know as DJs, y'all hear a lot, even especially with this new stuff, the original samples.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: How often are you catching new music where it's like, oh, I know exactly what a record that came that came from?
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: Like I digress from that piece, yeah.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: No, so every event we do that.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: Every event, we one of us is playing the sample, the original sample, and then we playing the the track, or we do a vice versa, or we just play samples, like that.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: That's what separates the violence society.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Like, we do that on purpose.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: I like going out and watching the crowd catch that stuff too.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Cause like every now and again, my DJ friend he'll be on it, and I'll be like, uh huh.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: And you know, it's funny when you a lot of people like that, they like to hear the original ones.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: It wasn't always like that, but I I've seen I've been to a couple of events where people actually ask me, Do you have the original or do you have the the one they used three years ago or whatever?
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: I'd be like, Yeah, I got it.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: I won't play it.
- 19:18SPEAKER_04: So it's it's good.
- 19:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's it's a it's a thing as a DJ, you want the reaction from the crowd too.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: Like if you you it's like how was it that EDM when they when the drop comes and everybody goes crazy?
- 19:31SPEAKER_04: But like if you play the sample and people like, oh, and then you go into the joint that they use, it makes you feel good because it's just like all right, uh, you know, they caught it, and then sometimes they don't catch it, and you gotta be good enough to go on to the next and keep it moving.
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: You can't force it because P's a producer, I'm a producer, so we we listen to little intricate parts that's been sampled, and if we play it out, if it ain't amongst the people who do what we do, they're gonna be like, I didn't hear it.
- 20:05SPEAKER_04: And you gotta keep bringing it back for them to catch it, and you like, I'm wasting time, and they're gonna want me to get off these turntables.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: You know, so you gotta know when to exit cut it.
- 20:15SPEAKER_04: Who's that?
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: Uh Kenny, Kenny, uh, Kenny Rogers gotta know when the no one to phone.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: Got to know when to walk away.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: You gotta know.
- 20:26SPEAKER_03: You gotta know.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: Let me ask both of y'all are DJing, but y'all both produce.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so oh no, both of y'all, which one do y'all prefer?
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: Which one did y'all like the most?
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: Which one did y'all enjoy the most?
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: Producing a DJ.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: I really won't know what he thinks.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: I think well, I think well, I you know, I think it's for me, it's what I started with first.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: So I started DJing first.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: You know, my father gave my first pair of tables.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: I bought my first records in the early mid to mid to early 90s, and you know, that's I think that is the love, the first love.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: Um, people are gonna tell you when you on your climb or when you start DJing for a couple years, that you're probably gonna end up producing because we hear beats every day.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: You know, we we we read in the credits, we see in who does what, who does what, and and all this stuff.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: So eventually you're gonna get the itch and say, Oh, I can make something better than that, you know, or I can make something as good as that.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: Or I like this style.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Let me try it.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: You know, I just think it's a transition.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: DJing into producing is a basic transition of uh artist.
- 21:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, same, same for me.
- 21:44SPEAKER_04: DJing first, my brother DJ that carried his crates.
- 21:48SPEAKER_04: Um, and the more you DJ, it's like I've seen people, the park games where they're extending the break like flash and stuff, and it's just like This was super dope.
- 22:01SPEAKER_04: And then when Flash did The Venture the Grandmaster Flash, it was on a record.
- 22:06SPEAKER_04: So he did what he was doing in his room and in the park jams and made a record doing that.
- 22:14SPEAKER_04: No MCs, just records.
- 22:16SPEAKER_04: And it's a big hit.
- 22:18SPEAKER_04: And it's like, I can do that because I got most of those records.
- 22:21SPEAKER_04: So it's a gradual progression.
- 22:24SPEAKER_04: And it's just like I'm going to try my hand at it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: And you know, some people, some people fail at it, you know, some people are are incredible, like and like genius-like, you know, but um vinyl and DJing is and and the other thing is it's it's tangible.
- 22:46SPEAKER_04: I'm a I'm a tangible person.
- 22:47SPEAKER_04: I like to own it.
- 22:49SPEAKER_04: Like people download files now and Spotify, and it's like, oh, you ain't pay your account, you can't get to your music.
- 22:55SPEAKER_04: So I'm like, what you would you mean?
- 22:59SPEAKER_04: I can't what you mean I can't play the music that my play no.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we got my my account in the chokehold right now.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: This is what I'm saying.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: But at the same time, you know, we're not walking around with a with a creator records all the time with our favorite joints, too.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, so cassettes was was cool and CDs was cool, and you know, cassettes are coming back, CDs they did away with, because you know, but it's still around.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: I feel like those will be back at some point too.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: Like it's such a crazy cycle of how like everything's just gonna live relive its life again, like right.
- 23:38SPEAKER_04: It's like it's like putting a picture, like, you know, always wanted a uh say you wanted a a certain car, a pair of sneakers.
- 23:44SPEAKER_04: You got the poster with Jordan, with the Jordans on the on the wall, right?
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: But you never get the Jordans.
- 23:50SPEAKER_04: So you're gonna tell people I got a I got some Jordans, but I don't.
- 23:54SPEAKER_04: They on Michael Jordan's feet on the poster.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: They in my room.
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: They in my room.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: You can't wear them nowhere.
- 24:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 24:04SPEAKER_04: I got pictures of a car that I want, but I don't save my money to actually get it.
- 24:08SPEAKER_04: It it you know, and and the feeling of once you get it and it's yours, you cherish that.
- 24:14SPEAKER_04: That's like anybody.
- 24:15SPEAKER_04: You went and got your paces hat, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: What we yeah, what are we we starting there for?
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: You know we store.
- 24:31SPEAKER_04: The tangible thing because you could have sat down, but yeah, I'm a paces fan.
- 24:34SPEAKER_04: I'm dial.
- 24:35SPEAKER_04: I you could name all the five.
- 24:37SPEAKER_04: You ain't got no merch.
- 24:38SPEAKER_04: Like you didn't really go out and purchase something that you love, so that's another thing.
- 24:43SPEAKER_04: And then with the algorithms, and you know, I'm gonna feed you this because you like this song.
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I just like that song.
- 24:50SPEAKER_04: I didn't like anything else you gave me, so you can't tell me what I should be liking.
- 24:55SPEAKER_04: Let me do it.
- 24:56SPEAKER_04: My ear, my ears are the best headphones I've ever had, you know.
- 25:01SPEAKER_04: So, you know, I I don't I don't care what people say.
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: I think vinyl, yeah, DJing was the most most important.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because producing for uh an MC or Pinot, producing for an MC or a singer, man, that headache this week you give it to them two years later.
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: We waiting on those verses, we're waiting on the song.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Nah, man, we can't, we gotta keep it pushing.
- 25:32SPEAKER_04: We gotta keep it pushing.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: I gotta ask, as DJs and DJs who have been DJing, I'm not I'm not counting your age.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Y'all have been DJing for a while.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: Decades, yes.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: As DJs who have been DJing for a while, was there ever a point where you was like, vinyl's not making a comeback?
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, he got a room full of them behind him, so I don't think they ever lost faith.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: But like all right, so I can tell you this there was a time when I was trying to sell um all my vinyl because I you know I have a lot of it in storage, so I was tired of paying storage fees, I was moving, and I was like, nobody's really playing vinyl.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: So, and I I got my controller, I got my Serrado, I was like, I could just go digital.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: You know, I still got the the turntables in the mixer, so that should be okay.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: And you know, I went I went through the whole process.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: I invited a couple of stores to the crew to the to the shop or to my crib or whatever.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: And you know, a lot of them, two of them actually said, no, you're not gonna get what you want for it because you actually played these records when you were DJing, you know, when you was using them, and they're not in mint condition or very good plus but condition, you know, because you was active.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: So I was like, wow.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna end up selling these one by one on eBay.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: And literally, I think the year after that, I had a guy selling them for me.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: So he sold maybe 10 or 20 records, you know, for like which I thought was more than what I thought for like almost$20 each.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: And it's it's because the records are from the South, and we don't really acknowledge it like that.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: So to me, I was like, ah, I played this once or twice, but it's not in my rotation.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: So I had like two copies of Young Jeezy's first album.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: I you know, I had things like that in the the TVT era where Lil John and all of them had all those records because I was in a record pool, so I don't really play those records, so I'm willing to sell those.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: But when they was going online, people was like bidding, like, I need that because it's near mint condition, right?
- 27:51SPEAKER_02: And and you can't just go to the store and buy those records no more.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can't, and I'm not I'm not paying$80 for a reprice.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Um exactly.
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 28:04SPEAKER_04: It's it's tough.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: It's tough.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: I'm just paying$80 for a reprints.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: You don't gotta call me when it comes in.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: It's nice to know you can get it for me, not for eighty.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but would you pay$80 or would you pay$350 for the original?
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: That's that's a rough that's the question.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: That's a rough$350 is a lot of money.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: $350 is the light bill.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: Like, that's that's rough.
- 28:36SPEAKER_04: Those those are the those are the sacrifices.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: We we we come we come we come to the crossroads like all right beat a butter jelly all week at working your lunch rotation if you want to.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: Because that's that's pick up that big pack around me.
- 28:58SPEAKER_04: Yes, and but that's the sacrifice of of what we love, just like a like a like a car enthusiast, you know, they'll keep that car in that garage forever, and you like you ain't gonna never drive this.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: When I find that part, they go to the car show, they give you out they give you money for that, though.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: So I understand there's I think there's an extent of that with vinyl collecting too.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: You collect them because they cool, you're going to see sentimental, we collect them for whatever value it holds.
- 29:27SPEAKER_04: But like it's it's a return on your investment because the digital files, you people paying what a dollar, two dollars a song or whatever, you get nothing back on that because once it's gone, it's gone.
- 29:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's gone.
- 29:41SPEAKER_04: It's gone, you know.
- 29:43SPEAKER_04: So it's it's sentimental, definitely sentimental.
- 29:47SPEAKER_03: We uh I gotta go back to something he said because he said, you know, the little John and the Jeezy wasn't getting played like at value.
- 29:58SPEAKER_02: No, no, me in my rot in my rotation, yeah.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: Your rotation, those are all party joints that you have to bring during that time.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: You had to bring that, but once I'm not doing a party, I'm not just playing those in the crib, I'm not playing those when I'm practicing, you know.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, like it's it's particular records for particular things, so you know, I was more trying to do trick DJing.
- 30:22SPEAKER_02: So I'm like doing scratching and stuff like that.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: I can't, I never really was scratching to those type of records, you know.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: But they worth bread, they still worth bread, especially the OG copies, you know, promo copies, promo copies, and I got I got well you got P, you got promos too, but I got a lot of promos because I was working with Molly Ma for years, so I would get records from him, and it would, you know, they every MC group record label sending records to him to play on the radio.
- 30:53SPEAKER_04: So I was fortunate to be there and doing stuff, and I'm like, I like it, but my mind at that point, I was like, I'm a producer too.
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: What would Jeezy or what would young uh Scrappy sound like on a beat from from up north?
- 31:12SPEAKER_04: And I would do those because those records had acapellas.
- 31:16SPEAKER_04: A lot of records now don't have acapellers, right?
- 31:18SPEAKER_04: Now everybody's using stems on the Serato, but I was doing that 07 back yeah, back then, having a dirty South or West Coast rapper on a on an East Coast produce beat, not just an instrumental.
- 31:34SPEAKER_04: And people was like, Where can I get this?
- 31:36SPEAKER_04: And now I'm not thinking, right, you know, you could monetize on it because I wasn't, you know, SoundCloud, whatever.
- 31:43SPEAKER_04: It was just something I did because I like it better, and I would play those on the radio, and people like, yo, I need that, but you couldn't get it, you know.
- 31:53SPEAKER_04: So it's kind of like an exclusive, but like P said, those records are worth bread.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: I still have all mine, you know, 8-ball, MJG, all of them, because those are classic joints.
- 32:06SPEAKER_04: But like P said, if we're at a party, it's not coming on.
- 32:10SPEAKER_04: Again, you we gotta know the type of party we're rocking at.
- 32:13SPEAKER_04: We we bring those out, you know.
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: I'm definitely not bringing um what's his name?
- 32:17SPEAKER_04: Um, soak the shocker though.
- 32:19SPEAKER_04: I ain't playing that.
- 32:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh low blow unnecessary.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: I feel you I wouldn't either, because that because I don't even know what beat you're gonna put on up under him to make it sound.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: Nothing, it's nothing.
- 32:31SPEAKER_03: He's gotta go alpha.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: He better go out the pillow.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, we said the uh he was selling the G Z network.
- 32:38SPEAKER_03: I was like, This is my records.
- 32:40SPEAKER_03: That's mine, you know.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: That's my playlist.
- 32:42SPEAKER_03: That's my playlist.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: That's my playlist.
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: That's my playlist right there.
- 32:46SPEAKER_04: But at the at the same time, it was like when we was on the air, that was uh BLS Hot 97, and that was the time of uh East Coast, West Coast, bad boy, death row.
- 32:59SPEAKER_04: So while on the radio, program directors like you playing all East Coast stuff, don't play nobody from the West, nobody from the South.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: And then you had, you know, when when uh what was that uh Source Magazine Awards when Outcast was like South got something to say, so now it's definitely like you ain't playing nothing from them.
- 33:20SPEAKER_04: And I wound up playing an Eminem joint, and I got called out from the program director.
- 33:26SPEAKER_04: It was like, yo, we're not playing West Coast, and I'm like, he's not from the West Coast.
- 33:31SPEAKER_04: So that entails that the people behind the machine radio don't know the game, they're basically getting money or payola from these labels.
- 33:42SPEAKER_04: I'm like, Here, play my song.
- 33:44SPEAKER_04: But Eminem was he's a dope MC, he can rhyme his ass off, and he's from the shy.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: Why are you telling me he's from the West Coast?
- 33:55SPEAKER_04: I mean, and then two weeks after that, that's when Disney bought uh uh 98 and became ESPN, and everybody scattered, Dre and Love, everybody scattered, and and it was it was crazy, but it was just like it was a shakeup, but it was just like uh it wasn't worth it.
- 34:13SPEAKER_04: And then radio is is again it's P you can attest to it.
- 34:17SPEAKER_04: If you a DJ and you get stuff in the record pool, we go through our records, and it's like this this joint's kind of hot.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: But on a radio station, they like, oh, you can play because they give you a list of songs to play.
- 34:35SPEAKER_04: That song ain't hot.
- 34:37SPEAKER_04: But your job is to play that song, but it's not hot, and you gotta get on air behind the microphone and be like, yo, we we got this, you know, this fire joint from so, and it ain't fire.
- 34:47SPEAKER_04: And it's just like, why are we lying to the people?
- 34:50SPEAKER_04: You know, so that was that's the hard thing about radio.
- 34:53SPEAKER_04: It's like you got a lot of people behind those microphones, you pull them to the side, and you're like, yo, there's something they'd be like, nah, that's trash, you know, and it's sad because I have plenty of MCs, half a dipset, come up, do a freestyle.
- 35:09SPEAKER_04: JR Ryder wasn't the guy, you know.
- 35:18SPEAKER_04: Yo, slow the beat down.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: Yo, I'm gonna go al I'm like, ah.
- 35:23SPEAKER_04: But people are saying, yo, he's fired.
- 35:27SPEAKER_04: I'm like, uh, you you put him in a situation and see what it is, right?
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: Put him to the test.
- 35:33SPEAKER_04: And a lot of people won't again, P, you can attest to it.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: If you if you know how people say let's do a versus or battle, they do don't stage it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_04: Just come up and let the DJ give the beat, and you rock and let the crowd.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: We ain't looking in the chat room, whatever, let the crowd decide.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: That's what I guess that's where we come from, the old OGs.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: We we I think that's the proper way to do that.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: Like, I think all the verses should be be going by crowd approval.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: Granted, I'm online screaming my ass off.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I go for I go for at home.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: We try to make the bed on the pile beforehand, like uh-uh, and then do the review.
- 36:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Q, you heard you heard about the the PM Dawn Boogie Damn Productions stuff, right?
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: I I happen to be there.
- 36:20SPEAKER_04: Incredible, incredible, but again, you got somebody, tell you another story, but you got somebody on stage who kind of like this facade of a great MC, whatever, whatever, whatever, and Chris comes with the whole BDP posse and goes up there, Muslim takes the mic and rocks your hook, rocks your show.
- 36:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:49SPEAKER_04: What do you do?
- 36:50SPEAKER_04: If you're an MC and these this is the crowd, they came to see me.
- 36:54SPEAKER_04: You paid to get in.
- 36:56SPEAKER_04: Well, he didn't pay to get in, but he would have paid if he was a regular person.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: But he comes in, people know who he is, and he goes straight to the stage and kicks you off the stage and your DJ and rocks your party.
- 37:11SPEAKER_04: Most of people who are true to what they know be like, nah, it ain't going down like that.
- 37:15SPEAKER_03: You can't do that.
- 37:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like I'm going, I'm gonna fight back.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm going.
- 37:19SPEAKER_04: Nothing.
- 37:20SPEAKER_04: You heard nothing.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: Nothing.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: We used to go to the Roosevelt record show, record dealers with whole records for PM Dawn.
- 37:30SPEAKER_04: We couldn't buy records until he got there.
- 37:33SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, who the hell is he?
- 37:35SPEAKER_04: I'm in there with Q-tip, Large Professor, um, Evil D, Buckwild, all the super producers you know from the 90s, boom back.
- 37:47SPEAKER_04: They can't get records until this guy comes.
- 37:50SPEAKER_04: And then when this guy comes, he takes the the I think it was a bed sheet.
- 37:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think it was a bed sheet.
- 37:56SPEAKER_04: He takes the sheet off the records and then lets him go through the crates first before anybody else.
- 38:02SPEAKER_04: Who are you, dude?
- 38:05SPEAKER_04: No, it's it's it's different.
- 38:07SPEAKER_04: It's different, it's different.
- 38:09SPEAKER_04: And and again, it was if you had all those super producers in one spot, we're all looking at the same records, and they still made hits, everybody using different records, all the same record, it's a different time.
- 38:24SPEAKER_04: Definitely different time.
- 38:25SPEAKER_04: And it and it it you got some classics that you still rock now.
- 38:30SPEAKER_04: And it's like, you know, how did that come from that XYZ?
- 38:34SPEAKER_04: And now it's it's different.
- 38:36SPEAKER_04: It's like it's the same, it's the same drum track, it's the same 808, it's the same 909, it's just shifted over or it's distorted.
- 38:45SPEAKER_04: And again, people, it's fire.
- 38:47SPEAKER_04: It's not.
- 38:48SPEAKER_04: If you first out the gate with it, cool.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: And everybody follows, you know you set a you set a trend.
- 38:56SPEAKER_04: But it there's certain things you can't touch.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: Like nobody's doing Stevie Wonder songs over.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:05SPEAKER_04: Nobody's doing nobody's even trying to attempt Stevie Wonder songs over live in concert.
- 39:12SPEAKER_04: You might get you might get a uh what's that um the national anthem at a football game from somebody, but they're actual nobody's gonna do it.
- 39:23SPEAKER_04: Nobody's gonna do it like so.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: It's just like we get little covers here and there on the internet, and they're solid, but they're not good enough to to to reclaim it.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: Like, I will say that.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: Like, people ever here and they'll do it.
- 39:35SPEAKER_04: P you know there's certain songs that shouldn't be touched.
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: Of course.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's certain songs that should be touched.
- 39:41SPEAKER_02: I don't want nobody to ever remake too high from C One.
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: Never.
- 39:47SPEAKER_04: Never and you heard what Shaka Khan said about Mary singing her song over.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:55SPEAKER_04: So let me say if you're if I mean you you if for a song, a person of that stature with hits, and you don't get the blessings you thought you was gonna get once you did it over, yeah, that kind of hurt.
- 40:20SPEAKER_04: That kind of hurt, you know.
- 40:22SPEAKER_04: You you would want something because like when we watched the award shows and like um when Prince was alive and he in the first row and somebody's doing a tribute to him.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: The face, right?
- 40:33SPEAKER_04: You read the because you know it's like nobody can do it like me, but they're gonna try.
- 40:38SPEAKER_04: I mean, just gonna try.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: You can't, you know, there's certain songs people can't you can't do Prince songs over like Prince.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: The faces Prince will make.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: I would say the faces we're making at home because even we know don't do that.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Even we know on live TV, Twitter about to have your ass, period.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: You're about to have your ass.
- 41:00SPEAKER_03: You get you giving it your all up her trying to pay tribute to this man, and it wasn't enough.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: You just wore a similar outfit and called it a day.
- 41:15SPEAKER_04: They could have ran a little a little uh documentary with the phones playing, with just let it go.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: Do a praise dance.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: That's where your little teacher is.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: I need that right do a praise dance because you're bugging right now.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: Like yeah, yeah, there's certain things there's certain things that you can you can't do.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: I don't even think um, even in uh in the opera circuits, like like like Leon Team Price and Pavardy, I don't think they people will cover their songs because you just shouldn't, because you're not gonna hit that where they hit it to make them who they are.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: So just do you and make them like you for you, not for doing their song.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: So it's it's it's kind of weird.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: And I feel like there are plenty of artists like that.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, I feel like there are some artists that can get off those tributes we we we do not think of on a good day.
- 42:15SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, is there is there really no one you trust to do a prints covering?
- 42:18SPEAKER_02: Nobody, nobody, I don't remember.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: Maybe below, maybe below that's it.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: Maybe below.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: I I think Luke James might hit that shit right too.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: Who Luke James?
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: Luke James.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Um, but the feeling ain't the same.
- 42:37SPEAKER_03: Stop that.
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: The feeling ain't the same.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: Like feeling ain't the same.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying it's gonna be the same.
- 42:42SPEAKER_03: Luke, the note is I'm so yeah, he got the skills, he got the skills, but he ain't got the feeling that would give you what Prince got.
- 42:53SPEAKER_03: I think that's what we talk about like I had that feeling to you.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: He definitely feels something for me.
- 42:57SPEAKER_03: Well, that's a different conversation, you know what I'm saying?
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: He might do it, but so I had a little face.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: It's the Lula with me.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: It clocked in.
- 43:07SPEAKER_03: Different conversation.
- 43:09SPEAKER_03: I don't think like that.
- 43:10SPEAKER_03: Prin Prince is Prince to me, Prince, Stevie Wanda they different because of the feeling.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: It's like all-star.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can't, and dear Lord, I hope they got Stevie and some bubble rap somewhere because I can't take it.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: The black community ain't gonna take it if they as Stevie goes.
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: Black community can't take it.
- 43:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, we definitely can't take it.
- 43:34SPEAKER_03: Uh so mind both of y'all from Jersey, correct?
- 43:39SPEAKER_03: Indeed.
- 43:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:41SPEAKER_03: Um Jersey has a lot of great hip hop artists.
- 43:47SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna put y'all on the spot.
- 43:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just right.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: Just we're going straight right to it.
- 43:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, he you know, zoomed in on himself.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was serious.
- 43:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because you know, yeah.
- 44:00SPEAKER_03: Like I said, y'all, y'all from Jersey.
- 44:02SPEAKER_03: I'm from the South.
- 44:03SPEAKER_03: So I have representation.
- 44:05SPEAKER_03: Wait, what?
- 44:06SPEAKER_03: What part of the South?
- 44:07SPEAKER_03: I'm from Kentucky.
- 44:08SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: I'm from a Louisville baby, West Indian baby.
- 44:15SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 44:16SPEAKER_03: Uh I listen to a lot of East Coast rap, but I want to hear from y'all.
- 44:22SPEAKER_03: Give me four.
- 44:24SPEAKER_03: Both of y'all.
- 44:25SPEAKER_03: Give me y'all top four.
- 44:26SPEAKER_03: Mount Rushmore from Jersey.
- 44:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, from Jersey.
- 44:30SPEAKER_03: From Jersey.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: That's not hard.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: That's not that's not hard.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: It's not hard.
- 44:37SPEAKER_01: All time top four though.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: Like no exclusions.
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, this is off the top right now, but now we're talking Mount Rushmore, greatest emotional.
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: It's a couple route Mount Rushmores in Jersey.
- 44:51SPEAKER_02: It's a couple of them.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: Um, but and you said hip hop, right?
- 44:56SPEAKER_02: Not RB.
- 44:57SPEAKER_03: Not hip-hop.
- 44:58SPEAKER_02: Hip hop.
- 44:58SPEAKER_02: So I got Tretch from Naughty by Nature.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 45:02SPEAKER_02: I got him up there.
- 45:04SPEAKER_02: I got um I gotta put I gotta put Queen Latifa in there.
- 45:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:12SPEAKER_02: Gotta put Queen Latifah.

- 45:19SPEAKER_02: You guys know who Redman is?
- 45:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, they they went they went silent.
- 45:26unknown: No.
- 45:30SPEAKER_01: I think he had an apartment in the city.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:34SPEAKER_02: I got Red Man.
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: I got Red Man as my number three.
- 45:37SPEAKER_02: You said four, right?
- 45:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, four.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Okay, so now now it's getting tricky because now I have to decide on who not to put in there for that last spot.
- 45:48SPEAKER_01: The last spot will get you.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: That last spot will get you all the time.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: Now I'm thinking like, okay, who's from Jersey that won't be mad.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: That won't be mad.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: Everybody else honorable mention.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: That's wild.
- 46:07SPEAKER_02: A4B.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: Um you know what?
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: I'ma say, I'ma, I'm just gonna put uh I'm gonna put do it all from Lord to the Underground.
- 46:16unknown: Okay.
- 46:18SPEAKER_04: That's a good call.
- 46:19SPEAKER_04: Okay, well now you got me thinking.
- 46:21SPEAKER_04: I definitely got I got Queen Latif out there.
- 46:25SPEAKER_04: Um tame the terrible.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I should put that red, red man.
- 46:32SPEAKER_04: And I'm gonna go it ain't it ain't it's been a minute.
- 46:36SPEAKER_04: Uh uh, what'd you call uh wise intelligence for righteousness?
- 46:41SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 46:43SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 46:44SPEAKER_03: All right, uh but since y'all brought it up, y'all said it's some RB from New Jersey too, right?
- 46:50SPEAKER_03: We're gonna we just gonna read it.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: Me and Q the RB heads on the pods it was like you gotta look at the RB list too.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: So so hold up.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: So I don't I could name a few, a couple, but not for four.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: Not for four.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: I can give you one.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: I can give you one.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: I can give you one time, huh?
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: You can give me one, you can't give me four.
- 47:13SPEAKER_02: Four that I put out of as a Mount Rush one because I know I'm gonna forget some.
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: I know I'm gonna forget somebody.
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: Okay, so just give me give me two.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: Can I get two?
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: I'll give you two.
- 47:22SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool.
- 47:23SPEAKER_02: I'll take two.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: I'll take two.
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: We'll take so I'm gonna so I I you know I was gonna, I was thinking about putting Lauren Hill my hip-hop, but I'm gonna put her in the RB.
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna put him in the R and B singing wise.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: Um and then off the top, I know it's it's hundreds, but I just it don't come to my head, but I will say I will say Whitney.
- 47:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll say Whitney.
- 47:57SPEAKER_03: That's one, yeah.
- 47:58SPEAKER_03: That's that's one right there.
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that yeah, we ain't we ain't getting another Whitney.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: We ain't getting another Whitney now.
- 48:05SPEAKER_04: Crack is whack.
- 48:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, crack is whack.
- 48:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, does crack black is it?
- 48:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, besides Whitney, um Charles, um David Cole of C and C Music Factory Um Damn, was was it D.Va Patterson or per se?
- 48:35SPEAKER_04: A diva?
- 48:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: That's still jerseys.
- 48:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you don't count it, it counts.
- 48:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:43SPEAKER_02: I mean there's yeah, I mean there's a there's a who's that girl group?
- 48:48SPEAKER_02: Uh 30W.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: No.
- 48:53SPEAKER_00: 3L W out of Jersey?
- 48:55SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say they from Jersey.
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: I don't think it's one of those girls.
- 48:58SPEAKER_02: It's either black or three old uh three L W that.
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: It's probably black and black.
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 49:05SPEAKER_04: But it was um they did um was the sweet sensation.
- 49:11SPEAKER_04: Um I can't think of the group, but yeah, there's a there's another group, but yeah, Chirelle's whole week because they actually got a street name.
- 49:21SPEAKER_04: OG jersey, yeah.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: That's that's old C C music.
- 49:26SPEAKER_04: They still that was crazy.
- 49:33SPEAKER_04: So yeah, we got some things out here, yeah.
- 49:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, do your thing in Jersey.
- 49:37SPEAKER_03: I ain't you know I respect Jersey.
- 49:42SPEAKER_03: Wait, it's oh p is it what you call it from Jersey?
- 49:46SPEAKER_04: Is it Uzi Verb?
- 49:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, from Jersey, yeah.
- 49:53SPEAKER_03: No, I thought he's from Philly.
- 49:55SPEAKER_03: I think Uzi's from Philly, yeah.
- 49:58SPEAKER_03: At least from Philly, yeah, might rep Philly.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: I don't know if he liked Jersey, but he okay.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: All right, man.
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: Uh I do got I gotta ask y'all one more question before we get up out of here.
- 50:11SPEAKER_03: Well, before we get to this, you know, the Knicks and five stuff.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: I had a uh conversation with my partner, my homeboy Joe.
- 50:18SPEAKER_03: We do a podcast, call respectfully.
- 50:20SPEAKER_03: Shout out, Joe, Joe the DI Hire D Joe the DEI hire, he'll white guy.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, white guy under mixed vice.
- 50:28SPEAKER_01: Joe's our token white guy, y'all.
- 50:31SPEAKER_01: Joe's the DI Hire.
- 50:34SPEAKER_03: He knows it.
- 50:36SPEAKER_03: Absolutely, it's on his card, Joe the DI Hire.
- 50:39SPEAKER_03: He reps it too, but uh we y'all talk about Queen Latifa, and we talked about the greatest female rappers.
- 50:49SPEAKER_03: We we had a conversation between your Missy Elliott, your Nicki Minajes.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: Who no Nick Minajes, and then the Queen Latifas.
- 51:00SPEAKER_03: Uh, a lot of people we put this on TikTok.
- 51:02SPEAKER_03: A lot of people said Lauren Hill.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna give you my honest opinion.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: Okay, and y'all, y'all ain't gonna like what I'm about to say, and that's okay.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: Captain Hater, ding ding ding.
- 51:14SPEAKER_03: I don't think Lauren Hill should be in that conversation as as a as a MC, as an MC.
- 51:20unknown: Okay.
- 51:20SPEAKER_02: Greatest greatest of all time, or just MC period, just greatest of all time.
- 51:25SPEAKER_02: Okay, I don't put her, I wouldn't put her as an MC greatest all time, just because her body of work is so low.
- 51:30SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 51:31SPEAKER_02: That's the only reason that's the only reason.
- 51:33SPEAKER_01: What else could we have asked for from Lauren Hill to show up on the two like two or three albums?
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Show up on the best now discredit her because it's not the same as the first album.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: But that was the point for it not to be the same as the first album because she was late to perform.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Show up on the album.
- 51:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that I mean the performance stuff don't got nothing to do with it.
- 52:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 52:02SPEAKER_02: But the body of work, yeah.
- 52:04SPEAKER_02: The body of work just off the one album, you see what it did.
- 52:07SPEAKER_02: So we wanted at least two or three of those, if not those, cup a step underneath it.
- 52:14SPEAKER_04: Because of course, that went diamond, like that's that was a crazy high selling album, but right, yeah, but it's it's in the same vein of uh big body of work, yeah, short period of time, yeah.
- 52:31SPEAKER_02: But it was different for him because release in his joint, right?
- 52:36SPEAKER_03: But at least we gap more big, yeah, never really gap for law.
- 52:41SPEAKER_03: So better when I say I don't think Lauren should be in that conversation, but not you stand on that.
- 52:47SPEAKER_01: It's not like she don't have possibility to pop out again.
- 52:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, and she does pop out every five to ten years as far as with a new song or verse somewhere, you know.
- 53:01SPEAKER_01: But she's still pretty damn top tier to me.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not gonna discredit her just because you got one fantastic ass no-skip album.
- 53:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you got the go-skip album.
- 53:13SPEAKER_02: But a part of for me, a part of the goat category is longevity.
- 53:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so that's a that's a portion of it, whether it's 25% or whatever you want to say, but it's definitely a portion is longevity, and how how long you can do it at a high clip, yeah.
- 53:32SPEAKER_02: So if you if you a nine out of 10, can you hit me with two nines back to back or three nines?
- 53:38SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 53:39SPEAKER_02: Like that's what that's what puts you in that goat.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: Like all the goats, my goats, quote unquote, they all have multiple like classic albums, you know, or sometimes back to back.
- 53:52SPEAKER_04: And and and most and most artists who like she went diamond on that first joint, that sophomore jinx really hurt.
- 54:02SPEAKER_04: It hurts a lot of people to where that third album you might not even get it.
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because you can't top the first one.
- 54:09SPEAKER_04: The first one is still in rotation to where it's like, oh, there was another album.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: I never mind.
- 54:15SPEAKER_04: This is my favorite, and go with that.
- 54:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but you uh you said when I said Nicki Nas, you immediately said absolutely Nikki, Nikki before she became what she what did she become?
- 54:29SPEAKER_04: The Barbie or something like that, or whatever.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: She was in a Barbie from the beginning.
- 54:33SPEAKER_04: That was one of her first, like her her her street version spitting was different, yeah.
- 54:41SPEAKER_04: Street version was different.
- 54:43SPEAKER_02: Well, I was like, Yeah, okay.
- 54:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she was no, she she was directly following in the Kim steps, yep, and she had the bars and she her flow was was dope, you know.
- 54:54SPEAKER_02: But I understand you gotta change it up if you want to go on the radio, you want to appeal to a larger people, you gotta switch it up for that, but we know what she's capable of, right?
- 55:07SPEAKER_02: And first couple albums still showcase that, you know, every every couple songs, you know, and then the later on it gets, it's like I don't see it no more.
- 55:17SPEAKER_04: Like it disappeared, disappeared, disappeared, like Jose Caseco.
- 55:30SPEAKER_03: Oh so if you say no to Nikki, would you work who do you say is that female?
- 55:37SPEAKER_03: They can look above the rest of them and say, Yeah, I'm the best ever.
- 55:46SPEAKER_04: I mean I can't even say Bar for Bar?
- 55:54SPEAKER_04: Muhammad D is incredible, but again, body of work.
- 55:58SPEAKER_04: Um Pierre Whack now.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: Making a nice comeback.
- 56:08SPEAKER_04: Uh I mean, light if she would have stayed not a light, I mean he was ahead of she was ahead of her time.
- 56:21SPEAKER_04: She was definitely to me, she was ahead of her time.
- 56:24SPEAKER_04: Um what's this oh what's this shit name?
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: Um newer or newer.
- 56:32SPEAKER_04: Um rhapsody.
- 56:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she is rhapsody's God.
- 56:37SPEAKER_04: She bought it.
- 56:39SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 56:41SPEAKER_04: Like it's it's it's great and it's refreshing to hear it, and it's just like I gotta listen to this again to get it.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: That's what I want.
- 56:52SPEAKER_04: And and it's like she she compliments the beats that she gets, and she sits where she needs to sit on the track to where it's like you you getting this beat, but you're gonna get the these bars too at the same time.
- 57:04SPEAKER_04: So it ain't gonna be yo, the beat was fire, but nah.
- 57:09SPEAKER_04: She puts it right where it needs to be.
- 57:11SPEAKER_04: And you know, choosing beats is hard, but rhapsody, metaphors, yeah.
- 57:19SPEAKER_04: Um who was who was trying, I don't know what happened to what's what happened to uh what's her name?
- 57:24SPEAKER_04: Scarlet.
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I still get her notifications online.
- 57:29SPEAKER_01: She still does I couldn't.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: She got a new song out.
- 57:32SPEAKER_02: She got a new song.
- 57:33SPEAKER_02: She got a new song out.
- 57:34SPEAKER_02: You got a new song out.
- 57:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's just it just I don't I don't know how you market her.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say marketing.
- 57:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know how they because they signed her.
- 57:46SPEAKER_02: I think Swiz signed her to Rough Riders.
- 57:49SPEAKER_02: She got some contract with Rough Riders.
- 57:51SPEAKER_02: So she's gonna sit for a minute.
- 57:53SPEAKER_02: There's no no, she's been coming out with music, it just hasn't been making the same noise as that first joint.
- 57:59SPEAKER_01: No, so um Lola Bricks has bars too.
- 58:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean you know uh what's going pretty hard, huh?
- 58:09SPEAKER_01: Lola Bricks been been going pretty hard.
- 58:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I look, I like Glorilla.
- 58:17SPEAKER_01: I think too.
- 58:20SPEAKER_04: I think she got bars.
- 58:25SPEAKER_04: This is what I'm saying about I I like I like Glow Rilla.
- 58:29SPEAKER_04: I hate sexy red, but I like Glow, right?
- 58:32SPEAKER_04: But here's the thing.
- 58:34SPEAKER_04: I'm to me, in my head, being from what I and what I do, I'm like, imagine Glow on some boom bat from the East Coast because her accent and the way she says certain words, because she's from that, it's it's incredible, but she gets it across, you know.
- 58:54SPEAKER_04: And I'm just like, I want to hear on something else, and it's like I just need that opportunity.
- 58:59SPEAKER_04: Probably no acapellers on her, but I gotta use the stems.
- 59:02SPEAKER_02: But nah, like on the last on her last album, she actually got one joint for you.
- 59:09SPEAKER_02: I didn't get I didn't get the last one, yeah.
- 59:11SPEAKER_02: Nah, stream it, Spotify, Apple.
- 59:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she got one joint on there that's that's East Coast-ish, yes, sir.
- 59:18SPEAKER_02: How you go for it?
- 59:19SPEAKER_03: That last go album, that last glow album.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: I tell people, it was special.
- 59:26SPEAKER_03: It was some it she put work into it.
- 59:28SPEAKER_03: It was you know, a lot of people just put projects out there because they just don't know exactly care about the entirety of the project.
- 59:35SPEAKER_03: Now that last glow album felt like a project.
- 59:38SPEAKER_04: That's what makes a difference, that's what makes a different.
- 59:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, I like that last glow.
- 59:44SPEAKER_03: Uh uh, we I think what George was it, the Grammy or something.
- 59:47SPEAKER_03: I kept saying she she lost the Grammy, and I was like, Man, she should have won.
- 59:50SPEAKER_03: I think it was a B, it might have been a BT war.
- 59:51SPEAKER_03: I can't remember exactly what it was, but I was up in arms on the podcast.
- 59:54SPEAKER_03: I was like, I think she should have won because of the simple fact it felt like a project.
- 59:58SPEAKER_03: It it felt like it was thought, it felt like it was effort, it felt like every song was placed where it was supposed to be, and like I said, playlist, right?
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_04: Right, and I'm glad, I'm glad you you you feel that because a lot of people don't get that, don't have that aspect of a complete project, you know.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_04: Because we we could say, like John, you said Lauren Hill done, you know, no skips.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_04: How many albums do you get?
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_04: At least maybe one song you might buy, eh, but it'll grow on it.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_04: But everything else is fired, and everything is placed because Pete, you know how when we put songs together, it's like, all right, now it's the track arrangement, so it's flowing.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_04: Track arrangement has definitely thrown you up for albums, just like right, but again, eliminating middleman like ARs and certain and people doing it right out the room.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_04: You just throwing out tracks, and it's just it's all over the place.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_04: You gotta sit with it and be like, All right, I'm gonna give you an intro, and it has to go into something to get you up, and you gotta have the median, the crescendo, and then the finale.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_04: It's a project, not just I'm gonna throw these throw these songs out there, and it's just you like, all right, you right now you just rhyming, and you just rhyme, you know.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_04: And if you choose whack beats, that's that's worse, you know, or you rhyming over somebody else's, that's even worse.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_04: It's like you didn't even take the time to put something together or pay somebody for a decent beat to make you stand out like it's an original beat.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_04: You know, it's different.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like that's what I say.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: I love the glow.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_03: Um, so peace.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_03: You coming through you coming through live on this screen here.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was gonna say the dial making the parents is now uh they know it's past my bedtime.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_03: Look, we right wrap, but uh we we gotta end with this.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_03: Uh you came on her with this five.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_03: You got you why you on you on this spot with this next hat?
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_03: I'm just trying to figure out you think y'all gonna repeat.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_03: I can tell you y'all not, but do you think do you think y'all gonna repeat?
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: If Mayor Mondani has his way, next in five two years straight.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying, come on, man.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_03: Don't don't you know I don't like him.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_03: Don't put that down.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_03: Slam.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: I don't even like him.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: Boy, boy, a problem.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_03: But y'all believe y'all gonna repeat.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_02: Um to be honest, to be honest, uh, there's there's a I would say there's a there's a 65% chance we repeat.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_02: That's a good number.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: That's a solid number.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_02: That's a solid number.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_02: Because you know, I gotta, I gotta say Philly, I gotta put Philly in the mix.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_02: They made major moves.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_02: Um, I can't hate too much on Miami, even though I don't think, but you never know.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_02: No, um your paces, you know, Halliburton was hurt last year.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_02: And did they get rid of anybody?
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_02: They still got Damar.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_03: Uh we still, you know, pace uh Halliburton.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_03: We got Pascal.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_03: We we traded for Zubatch out of the from the Clippers.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_03: He didn't play that much because you know, we was you know, tanky.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we was tanking that pick, but yeah, no, we I feel like this is just what I say because I got a like I said, my boy Quad then Lt, shout out to the choir storm.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_03: Um they Knicks fans, and I like I told them, I said, last time we was healthy, a shot went up, bounced twice, and some people went home, you know, and it went up.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_03: It wasn't us.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_02: We did it, yeah.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was a long time ago.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_02: I think it was before he was born that happened, might have been damn, might have been.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_02: Hopefully, we respect his we respect Reggie, we respect Reggie.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_03: But Reggie don't Reggie don't got one of them things either, though.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_03: That's true, that's true.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_03: But like I said, Reggie did it, but Tyrese came two years ago and did this to y'all too.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_03: So he did it, but he but they lost, didn't they lose the series?
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_02: No, they no, they lost the finals.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_02: He lost the finals.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_03: Uh Tyrese got hurt in game seven.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_03: And I still stand by if Tyrese didn't get hurt, but you know, that's neither her nor the guy.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_02: Y'all might have pulled it out.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_02: Y'all might have pulled it out.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_03: I don't uh 65 is high.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_04: That was wait, that was 65 is high.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_04: That was that was that was before like PG got he still led, no.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_04: No, PG in trade.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_03: He in Boston now.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he in Boston.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, PG and Boston.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_02: That 12th man the money.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Marshall Rowan was with you know Rangie, Jermaine O'Neill, and then his last one to the finals was uh Tyrese and Pascal.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right, right.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, now they nice, they nice when they healthy.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_02: When they nice, but I don't think y'all can still beat us in a in a if we play y'all again in the series.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_02: I think the experience of them winning it is gonna push us over the edge.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh so you said 65.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_01: You said 65.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_01: I think I'm 65.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_01: That's a solid number.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_01: How much of that remaining 35 is attributed to LeBron coming back to East?
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's a it's a good I would it's a good 20 of that.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_02: It's because they formed they formed that Voltron over there and yeah, right.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_02: The only thing we don't know if they can play together.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_02: I think it's share the ball, right?
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_02: You don't know, yeah.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_01: That's what they practice it now, right?
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_01: Well, you hope that's what they ain't came for now.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_04: You hope you hope they.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_04: practicing.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_01: Because that's not what LeBron gets paid for anymore.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_04: LeBron gets paid for the games.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_04: The old man is the first one in the gym, last one out.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_04: Young boys might be like, yeah, I'm out.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_04: I'm going to this party.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_04: Ain't gonna like that.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_01: See, maybe there'll be a ripple.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_01: You know one drop.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_04: It's a good look for them though.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_04: And then everything else is just we stay healthy.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: Period.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_01: So period.
