- Lucas: Hej, välkommen tillbaka! It's episode 148 of Learn Swedish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. So, Lucas, last time we ordered drinks at a café. I loved that. Lucas: Me too. And today, we're going to stay in that café scenario but focus on something tiny but very useful: ordinal numbers. First, second, third, fourth. Luna: Oh, like when you take a number at the bakery counter? Lucas: Exactly. Or when you say which bus you're taking. So let's start with 'första' — first. Luna: Första. Lucas: Good. 'Första' means first. For example, 'Jag är första i kön' — I am first in line. Luna: Jag är första i kön. Lucas: Perfect. Now 'andra' — second. Luna: Andra. Lucas: Yes. 'Du är andra' — You are second. Let's practice both. First and second. Luna: Första och andra. Lucas: Great. Now 'tredje' — third. Luna: Tredje. That's a bit trickier. Lucas: It is. The 'd' is soft. Tredje. Say it slowly: tre-dje. Luna: Tredje. Lucas: Yes. And finally 'fjärde' — fourth. Luna: Fjärde. That 'fj' sound is fun. Lucas: It is. Fjärde. So let's hear them all: första, andra, tredje, fjärde. Luna: Första, andra, tredje, fjärde. Lucas: Excellent. Now imagine you're at a café and they call numbers. 'Nummer ett' is number one, but in a queue, they often say 'första', 'andra'. Luna: So if I'm third, I'd say 'Jag är tredje'? Lucas: Exactly. 'Jag är tredje i kön.' Or if you're fourth, 'Jag är fjärde.' Let's do a quick roleplay. I'll be the counter. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Lucas: Du är första! What do you say? Luna: Jag är första? Lucas: Yes. Then I say 'Du är andra.' You say? Luna: Jag är andra. Lucas: Then 'tredje'. Luna: Jag är tredje. Lucas: And 'fjärde'. Luna: Jag är fjärde. Lucas: Fantastic. So those are your four ordinal numbers. Let's do a little review. What's first? Luna: Första. Lucas: Second? Luna: Andra. Lucas: Third? Luna: Tredje. Lucas: Fourth? Luna: Fjärde. Lucas: You've got them.
