We've covered the bakery, the cheese shop, the fish market—now it's time for meat. Luna: Oh, good. I've been wanting to buy some chicken. Lucas: Perfect. So first, the basic phrase: Ik wil graag vlees kopen. Means 'I would like to buy meat.' Let's say it together: Ik wil graag vlees kopen. Luna: Ik wil graag vlees kopen. Lucas: Good. Now, if you want a specific meat, you ask: Heeft u kip? — 'Do you have chicken?' Heeft u kip? Luna: Heeft u kip? Lucas: Yes. And you can substitute other meats: Heeft u rundvlees? for beef, Heeft u varkensvlees? for pork. But let's stick with chicken for now. Luna: Okay, so I walk up and say: Ik wil graag vlees kopen. Heeft u kip? Lucas: Exactly. Then the butcher might ask how much you want. You can say: Mag ik 200 gram? — 'May I have 200 grams?' Mag ik 200 gram? Luna: Mag ik 200 gram? That's easy.
