- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on seven. Well, I don't have
- 0:08Speaker 1: to get through this hour just to bring up the
- 0:10Speaker 1: speed that Don Lemon was arrested. He is in has
- 0:14Speaker 1: been indicted. Apparently he was partying like crazy in La
- 0:17Speaker 1: the Grammy Awards this Sunday night. The parties have already begun.
- 0:21Speaker 1: He was out there all night partying. The night ended
- 0:24Speaker 1: with him being arrested by federal agents. And now remember
- 0:30Speaker 1: this is not it's not just Donald Trump deciding to
- 0:33Speaker 1: arrest him. It's not the Attorney General, it's not the
- 0:35Speaker 1: Justice departments. Nothing in the trumpetminstress and it made the
- 0:38Speaker 1: final decision. It was the grand jury. They just simply
- 0:41Speaker 1: presented it to the grand jury, and the grand jury
- 0:43Speaker 1: voted to indict Don Lemon for there's a couple of
- 0:48Speaker 1: laws he violated in that church. Now, a lot of
- 0:51Speaker 1: people worried that this will make Don Lemon into a
- 0:56Speaker 1: huge martyr that he'll be on every You know, he's
- 0:58Speaker 1: a guy that was basically fired in disgrace. He was
- 1:02Speaker 1: out of work. Nobody would touch this guy, nobody would
- 1:05Speaker 1: hire this guy. He was doing one of these silly
- 1:08Speaker 1: podcasts from his bedroom, running around with a microphone, totally
- 1:12Speaker 1: out of work. But this, well, this is different.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Suddenly he'll be all over MSNBC and CNN, and there'll
- 1:20Speaker 1: be a GoFundMe that could raise millions and millions. He's
- 1:23Speaker 1: hired the top lawyer you could hire in a matter
- 1:26Speaker 1: like this, Abbey Lowell. So a lot of people worried
- 1:29Speaker 1: that this will make Don Lemmon not only a martyr,
- 1:32Speaker 1: but bigger than ever, may actually bring back his broadcasting
- 1:36Speaker 1: career for him. The Justice Department right now is releasing
- 1:40Speaker 1: more Epstein files. We explained last hour. There's five million
- 1:44Speaker 1: pages that need to be read and gone through with
- 1:47Speaker 1: a fine tooth coming to make sure there's no identifying
- 1:51Speaker 1: victims or anything like that. So apparently they've gotten a
- 1:53Speaker 1: batch done. O re liasa batch later. Now, what's going
- 1:56Speaker 1: to happen every time they release a batch, You're going
- 1:59Speaker 1: to be very disappointed because there's going to be nothing
- 2:01Speaker 1: that interesting in there. But this will continue for a while. Hey,
- 2:05Speaker 1: we're talking. Last time, Monica Crowley was with this telling
- 2:08Speaker 1: us about this two hundred and fiftieth Birthday of America.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The whole year is going to be big, big events
- 2:15Speaker 1: celebrating America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday, and if she
- 2:18Speaker 1: listed all the events, I realized, as miserable as Democrats are, now,
- 2:22Speaker 1: as angry, crazy, miserable as the Democrats are, this year's
- 2:28Speaker 1: going to be tough on them, very tough on them.
- 2:32Speaker 1: You know, they're not into flag waving or you know,
- 2:34Speaker 1: Fourth of July. They don't like that kind of stuff.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's not their favorite day. So when the whole year
- 2:40Speaker 1: is America, the flag and all the events she talked about,
- 2:45Speaker 1: this is not going to be the National Prayer Service.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Democrats are not going to be flocking to that. What's
- 2:54Speaker 1: the other one? The National State Fair that's not big
- 2:58Speaker 1: with Democrats at the White House in Washington. The events
- 3:02Speaker 1: are NASCAR, Yeah, that's not big with the Jimmy Kimmel, CNN,
- 3:09Speaker 1: Colbert crowd. They're not big on Nascar. The other one
- 3:12Speaker 1: was UFC Fighting Championship at the White House. And then
- 3:16Speaker 1: the Fourth of July and Democrats, I don't like this stuff.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It's a miserable day for them. Fourth of July with
- 3:23Speaker 1: the flag and the picnics and hot dogs. They don't
- 3:27Speaker 1: like this. So this is going to be a very
- 3:29Speaker 1: rough year for your Democratic friends. As this stuff starts
- 3:33Speaker 1: to unfold, especially in the summer. So you think they're
- 3:35Speaker 1: angry and miserable. Now just wait, So we got a
- 3:41Speaker 1: new FED chairman, Kevin Wash everybody likes some Powell is
- 3:45Speaker 1: just awful. Really need to get rid of him. He's
- 3:47Speaker 1: still got till May before his term is over. Now,
- 3:51Speaker 1: when you're done as the FED chairman, you're supposed to
- 3:54Speaker 1: give up your board seat. So his term is up
- 3:57Speaker 1: in May, but he's his board term. Having a seat
- 4:00Speaker 1: on the board goes to like twenty twenty eight. But
- 4:03Speaker 1: if you're gracious about it, you step down and you
- 4:05Speaker 1: get the hell out of there. Knowing Paul bad guy
- 4:08Speaker 1: hates Trump, probably will not. Here's President Trump. You can
- 4:12Speaker 1: do it with a pencil.
- 4:14Speaker 3: It's not cutting, it's not saying we have to get
- 4:16Speaker 3: rid of jobs or it's just like literally so easy
- 4:18Speaker 3: to do. But we have a guy that doesn't want
- 4:21Speaker 3: to do it because he's I think he's politically biased.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I really do.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I believe he's politically biased, because most smart people say
- 4:29Speaker 3: it's not even a question.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well we know he's politically not only politically biased,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but he hates hates, hates Trump, so he'll stay there,
- 4:37Speaker 1: probably just to make Trump miserable. So the good news,
- 4:41Speaker 1: we're going to miss this snowstorm. It's not going to
- 4:43Speaker 1: hit us on Sunday. But the freezing temperatures have caused
- 4:46Speaker 1: a lot of problems. You know, the Hudson River, the
- 4:49Speaker 1: East River are frozen, frozen, that's ruined everything. There's no
- 4:53Speaker 1: ferry service. But also remember we need those those rivers
- 4:57Speaker 1: for all kinds of commercial purposes and shipping and delivery.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So icebreakers are now in the Hudson River. They came yesterday.
- 5:06Speaker 1: These ice breakers are trying to break up the ice
- 5:09Speaker 1: and open it up, and hopefully it'll get the ferry
- 5:12Speaker 1: service back, although who the hell takes a ferry in
- 5:15Speaker 1: this kind of cold weather. You know, if you're here
- 5:17Speaker 1: in Manhattan walking around, those bikes are all over the place,
- 5:21Speaker 1: riding around in the slush and the snow and the
- 5:23Speaker 1: unbelievably cold temperatures. Bikes all over the place. And they're
- 5:27Speaker 1: not just the delivery bikes that I could understand, but
- 5:31Speaker 1: just amateur bikes, you know, city bikers. They're still out
- 5:35Speaker 1: there in this snow. Hey, the Milania movie opens today.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You should go see it. It's in fifteen hundred theaters today.
- 5:44Speaker 1: They had the first screening at the White House, big
- 5:48Speaker 1: private event, and then the big premiere was last night
- 5:50Speaker 1: the Kennedy Center with all the usual cast of characters,
- 5:54Speaker 1: the whole Trump administration, all the cabinet secretaries, all of that.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And then there were two after parties, big bashes afterwards
- 6:01Speaker 1: that went all night. But it opens today all over
- 6:07Speaker 1: the country. If you want to see it, go see it. Now.
- 6:11Speaker 1: You're going to hear all these left wing people as
- 6:12Speaker 1: the film starts to be talked about and do well,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you can hear all these media left wing idiots start
- 6:18Speaker 1: to tell you that this movie is a bribe, that
- 6:22Speaker 1: why would Malania get forty million from Amazon for this film? Well,
- 6:26Speaker 1: that's a bribe. It was Amazon bribing the Trump administration
- 6:29Speaker 1: with the forty million. Now, of course they'll never mention
- 6:33Speaker 1: that Michelle Obama, whose documentary Totally Bombed, got eighty million
- 6:38Speaker 1: from Netflix. Actually that's the better question. Why did Malania
- 6:41Speaker 1: only get half? Who would you rather look at for
- 6:44Speaker 1: two hours? Milania or Michelle Obama? The Michelle Obama documentaries
- 6:48Speaker 1: are just it's really crabby in real life and has
- 6:52Speaker 1: nothing to say. It's just the most boring two hours
- 6:55Speaker 1: that Milania documentary. And remember when you see the documentary,
- 6:59Speaker 1: they shot like four thousand hours just to get anything interesting.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So the two hours you're seeing is the most interesting
- 7:05Speaker 1: of the four thousand hours. Remember also, Michelle Obama got
- 7:09Speaker 1: a book deal. You know, normally when you get a
- 7:12Speaker 1: book deal, they'll give you a ten million for your
- 7:14Speaker 1: book in advance, maybe if you're the president, maybe twenty million.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Remember Michelle Obama's book deal sixty five million, unheard of,
- 7:25Speaker 1: totally unheard of. Shakespeare couldn't get sixty five million for
- 7:28Speaker 1: a book deal. But so you talk about bribing somebody,
- 7:33Speaker 1: the shutdown looms, they're trying to make some kind of deal.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Of course, you got crazy, angry Chuck Schumer, who's at
- 7:41Speaker 1: the end of a very mediocre career right now. Schumer
- 7:45Speaker 1: making all kinds of demands, are going to try to
- 7:47Speaker 1: do this shutdown, and they're going to try to use
- 7:50Speaker 1: ice in Minnesota, and all that is an excuse. You
- 7:53Speaker 1: can't just shut down the Department of Homeland Security because
- 7:56Speaker 1: everything is in that department. That's where the TSA is
- 7:59Speaker 1: in there, the Secret Service. You can't defund that. But
- 8:03Speaker 1: here's Schumer yelling and huffing and puffing.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Caucus is unified over three main legislative objectives. First, we
- 8:12Speaker 4: want to end roving patrols. We need to tighten the
- 8:16Speaker 4: rules governing the use of warrants and require ices coordination
- 8:20Speaker 4: with state and local law enforcement. Second, we want to
- 8:25Speaker 4: enforce accountability. Third, we want masks off. Body cameras on.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Okay, now, this is all a big mess of stuff.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Body cameras on. Yeah, I would agree with that. Masks off.
- 8:39Speaker 1: The reason they wear the mask is these crazy, raging,
- 8:42Speaker 1: nutjob violent protesters have threatened the families of the ICE agents.
- 8:48Speaker 1: If they can see the face, they can identify the person.
- 8:51Speaker 1: They will then go to the well the ICE agents
- 8:53Speaker 1: are away on the job, they will go to the
- 8:56Speaker 1: ICE agent's house and terrorize his children and his wife.
- 9:00Speaker 1: That's literally what would happen. That's that's why the masks. Now,
- 9:03Speaker 1: you don't need to take the masks off. A proposal.
- 9:06Speaker 1: The compromise will be every agent will have a number
- 9:09Speaker 1: on his uniform, big number, and that's an identifying number.
- 9:13Speaker 1: So if you want to report the guy, you just
- 9:15Speaker 1: give that number and then within the department they know
- 9:18Speaker 1: who it is. So that's the way they'll do that. Now,
- 9:23Speaker 1: body cams. That's actually going to work against the protesters.
- 9:27Speaker 1: For instance, the Renee Goods shooting, if that guy had
- 9:29Speaker 1: a bodycam, you would have seen the car come right
- 9:32Speaker 1: at it and smash it. So bodycam will help the
- 9:37Speaker 1: ice agents. Hopefully the shutdown doesn't happen. There's a lot
- 9:41Speaker 1: of people Lindsey Graham causing a problem. The President will
- 9:44Speaker 1: call him this afternoon and calm him down and hopefully
- 9:49Speaker 1: it'll get straightened out. Now Here in New York budget crisis,
- 9:53Speaker 1: you got Mom Donnie in charge. He has started to
- 9:56Speaker 1: figure out it's not just about taxes. The reason you
- 9:59Speaker 1: have a budget crisis is the budget is totally out
- 10:02Speaker 1: of control. It's absolutely ludicrous that this one city has
- 10:06Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty billion dollar budget. It's insane. So
- 10:11Speaker 1: cuts have to be made. Now, Supposedly, he's going to
- 10:13Speaker 1: try his own little doge. He's going to have somebody
- 10:18Speaker 1: appointed in each department to be like the doge officer
- 10:21Speaker 1: and figure out what can be cut. Let's hope he
- 10:24Speaker 1: really is going to do this.
- 10:25Speaker 5: The tools that the city has, these are the most
- 10:27Speaker 5: painful tools. We are talking about cuts, we are talking
- 10:30Speaker 5: about property taxes. The things that I do not want
- 10:32Speaker 5: to pursue. Yeah, and yet the scale of this fiscal
- 10:34Speaker 5: crisis of twelve billion dollars, this is not an ordinary crisis.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Now you know the idea of the budget cuts.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's not that you're going to hurt any services or
- 10:44Speaker 1: deprive people the services or anything like that. The overpay
- 10:48Speaker 1: for everything. There's incredible waste bloat all through the budget
- 10:54Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty billion. You could easily cut that
- 10:56Speaker 1: to sixty billion and promptly forty billion if really efficient
- 11:01Speaker 1: about it. And hopefully he'll actually do this stuff, actually
- 11:05Speaker 1: seriously look at cutting stuff. I know he wants to
- 11:08Speaker 1: raise taxes, but he doesn't have the power to do it.
- 11:12Speaker 1: He's got to go to the governor. She's running for reelection,
- 11:14Speaker 1: so she's got to be careful. Well, you got to
- 11:16Speaker 1: go to the city council. And as I'm telling you yesterday,
- 11:19Speaker 1: we got a new city council speaker who's a moderate.
- 11:23Speaker 1: He's a Democrat, but a very common sense, moderate Democrat
- 11:27Speaker 1: who's not going to do crazy stuff. So that's a
- 11:29Speaker 1: good check and balance on on mom, Donnie. So the
- 11:33Speaker 1: Luigi Manngi own cases, it's in court today and the
- 11:37Speaker 1: judge is already tossed out a couple of charges, and
- 11:39Speaker 1: those were the charges that would have brought the death penalty. Now,
- 11:44Speaker 1: I don't know what case would call for the death
- 11:46Speaker 1: penalty more than this one. I mean, we see the
- 11:49Speaker 1: video of him just deliberately assassinating this guy for no
- 11:53Speaker 1: reason at all, walking right up to this guy and
- 11:55Speaker 1: shooting him dead. I mean, what more do you need
- 11:57Speaker 1: for a death penalty? But it's a Manhattan courtroom, it's
- 12:01Speaker 1: a Manhattan judge. They don't like the death penalty, so
- 12:04Speaker 1: they've taken that off the table. Now, one thing about
- 12:07Speaker 1: when you take that off the table, it makes the
- 12:09Speaker 1: conviction easier for a jury. And the judge did rule
- 12:13Speaker 1: that the evidence in his backpack that was on him
- 12:15Speaker 1: when he got arrested can stay. So even though the
- 12:18Speaker 1: death penalty's gone, it looks more and more and more
- 12:21Speaker 1: like an absolutely definite chance of conviction. I mean, you
- 12:25Speaker 1: got the video, you got everything, So that's good news. Hey,
- 12:31Speaker 1: yesterday was the cabinet meeting, So all the left wing
- 12:35Speaker 1: sites are trying to find something wrong with it. Very
- 12:37Speaker 1: hard to do. It's a pretty good cabinet meeting. But
- 12:39Speaker 1: here's mediaite. Mediaite is the real left wing or left
- 12:44Speaker 1: wing slanted site The Big Headline. The five most fawning
- 12:48Speaker 1: moments from the Trump Cabinet meeting. Fawning Moments Number one
- 12:54Speaker 1: Pete Hexath claiming the Venezuela operation was one of the
- 12:57Speaker 1: greatest in world history. Well, actually that's true. I've heard
- 13:02Speaker 1: a million military experts say they're amazed at the efficiency,
- 13:06Speaker 1: how well run that operation was. It was absolutely dazzling.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I mean, get into a country, get a world leader
- 13:14Speaker 1: in his bed, and get him out of the country
- 13:16Speaker 1: without any without losing one American life. It was unbelievable.
- 13:22Speaker 1: What was the other one? Number two? Howard lutt Nick
- 13:25Speaker 1: consists Trump is fixing everything. Oh, actually he is. He's
- 13:28Speaker 1: fixing the supply chain, he's fixing the economy, getting everything
- 13:31Speaker 1: straightened out. So all of these are actually great things.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Trump's small business administrator. List of wars he's ended added
- 13:40Speaker 1: another one. He's ended the war on main street and
- 13:44Speaker 1: hardworking families. Well that's pretty much true. Their income has
- 13:48Speaker 1: come up under all the Trump stuff, all the Trump
- 13:51Speaker 1: economic stuff. Average income now for a working person is
- 13:55Speaker 1: way up a couple of thousand bucks this year. Scott
- 13:58Speaker 1: Bessant predicts twenty twenty six will be the year of
- 14:02Speaker 1: the Trump boom. Yeah, so does everybody else. It's gonna
- 14:04Speaker 1: the tax cuts are kicking in. You probably get a
- 14:07Speaker 1: rate cut pretty soon. Yeah, it really will be. Here's
- 14:13Speaker 1: the final one. Trump saved hundreds of lives during the
- 14:15Speaker 1: winter storms due to his love of coal. Well, actually, yeah,
- 14:19Speaker 1: we had a ton of energy. All of a sudden,
- 14:21Speaker 1: gas prices are way down. An amount of gas, the
- 14:24Speaker 1: amount of oil being pumped, and all that is way
- 14:28Speaker 1: way way up. Hey, you know a lot of people,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you know, they move out of New York, they move
- 14:33Speaker 1: out of California, They moved to Texas, they moved to Florida.
- 14:37Speaker 1: People leaving New York leaving Texas over the last bunch
- 14:40Speaker 1: of years for tax reasons, other reasons. Studies now show
- 14:46Speaker 1: that because of that, when they do the twenty thirty census,
- 14:51Speaker 1: New York and California combined will lose six House seats
- 14:56Speaker 1: and the House seats will be transferred to places like
- 14:58Speaker 1: Texas and Florida. And they estimate that's going to cost
- 15:01Speaker 1: Democrats in the future nine electoral votes right there. Pretty interesting. Hey,
- 15:06Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next eight hundred three two one
- 15:10Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three two
- 15:13Speaker 1: one zero seven ten.
- 15:16Speaker 6: Give WR a bre said on the iHeartRadio app to
- 15:19Speaker 6: hear Mark Simone and all the WR hosts in an instead.
- 15:24Speaker 7: Now back to the Mark Simon Show on WOR.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Carl, Yorktown, Heights. Carl,
- 15:34Speaker 1: how you doing all right?
- 15:35Speaker 8: Good speak you Mark? Mark over in New Yorktown. Our
- 15:39Speaker 8: prices our gifts sayed between three twenty nine and three
- 15:43Speaker 8: thirty three four the last six months. I don't understand.
- 15:47Speaker 8: We're not coming down yet.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Oh, because New York State is every time the price
- 15:51Speaker 1: of gas comes down, New York State increases the tax
- 15:53Speaker 1: to keep it where it is, So gases two fifty everywhere.
- 15:57Speaker 1: But in California and New York they keep raising the tax,
- 16:00Speaker 1: local tax to keep it up there. So the price
- 16:04Speaker 1: you pay for living in New York. Hey, you got
- 16:06Speaker 1: a lot of snow up there, Carl.
- 16:08Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, we had about between fifteen and eighteen.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Whoa fifteen.
- 16:14Speaker 8: It's still digging out the sidewalks.
- 16:17Speaker 1: All right, Carl, Thanks for calling. Yorktown Height's a very
- 16:20Speaker 1: nice place. Let's go to Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich
- 16:23Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Hey, thanks, Maul. We're getting two to four inches of
- 16:26Speaker 2: snow here tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night, and it'll stick
- 16:29Speaker 2: around for a couple of days. Going to be in
- 16:31Speaker 2: the team for the next few days.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Wait a minute, Myrtle Beach. Where's that? South Carolina?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, South Carolina, North Carolina.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Until you go down there to get away from this weather.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, in Inland where your buddy Joe Bartler lives, he's
- 16:43Speaker 2: going to be getting five to eight inches in there
- 16:45Speaker 2: by that part of South Carolina. Whoa yeah, you know.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Chuck Schumer continues to just show what a complete idiot
- 16:54Speaker 2: and the putts he really is. It's just disgraceful what
- 16:56Speaker 2: this guy is still in office. But I don't know
- 16:58Speaker 2: if you saw this. I saw posted somewhere that some
- 17:02Speaker 2: film company is looking for as many cops and fire
- 17:04Speaker 2: him and as they can find because they're doing a
- 17:07Speaker 2: giant documentary on the after nine to eleven illnesses and
- 17:11Speaker 2: cancers that came about. I don't know if you saw
- 17:13Speaker 2: anything or knew anything about that. No, but no acting
- 17:16Speaker 2: experience needed.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Well, obviously they want to people. You know. Sounds like
- 17:20Speaker 1: a documentary kind of thing, but interesting, Yeah, You're right
- 17:22Speaker 1: about Schumer because uh, he's really the poster boy for
- 17:27Speaker 1: term limits. He is just an old dinosaur, this old fossil,
- 17:31Speaker 1: this useless bureaucrat who gets nothing done except for donors.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And you wonder, how the hell did that guy stay there?
- 17:38Speaker 1: How does he get reelected donor service? That's what he's
- 17:41Speaker 1: known for. They all got his cell phone and is
- 17:44Speaker 1: even the Republican donors love they as they'll tell you,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I can wake that guy up at two in the morning.
- 17:49Speaker 1: He'll do whatever I need. That's Chuck Schumer. That's that's
- 17:52Speaker 1: been his main business for all these years. Let's go
- 17:54Speaker 1: to Bob Montvale, New Jersey. Bob, how you doing good?
- 17:58Speaker 2: Mark?
- 17:59Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 17:59Speaker 7: Hey, I'm I'm surprised that there's not more hope law
- 18:02Speaker 7: about the MTA making history about like the one point
- 18:06Speaker 7: five billion in over time. It's interesting. There's a dulge
- 18:11Speaker 7: project at Mundani and Cochal could take to find out, like, geez,
- 18:16Speaker 7: so much overtime? What's going on over there? All the
- 18:19Speaker 7: money taking agency, as Curtis would say.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's it's total waste, fraud, bloat. New York
- 18:27Speaker 1: State budget, New York City budget. You know, Florida is
- 18:30Speaker 1: a bigger place than New York. It has a bigger
- 18:32Speaker 1: population than New York State. It has more big cities
- 18:35Speaker 1: than New York State. Their budget is half the budget
- 18:39Speaker 1: in New York State. Half. We could cut our budget
- 18:42Speaker 1: in half. You know what that means. It means your
- 18:44Speaker 1: taxes get cut in half. New York City, we could
- 18:47Speaker 1: cut this budget in half. That means your taxes get
- 18:49Speaker 1: cut in half. You're overpaying like crazy for all that
- 18:52Speaker 1: waste and fraud and bloat. Let's go to Richard in
- 18:55Speaker 1: New Jersey. Richard, how you doing?
- 18:58Speaker 6: How do you doing?
- 18:58Speaker 2: Mark?
- 18:59Speaker 6: Thank You've been taking the well with respect to Minneapolis,
- 19:02Speaker 6: something that doesn't make sense. It's cold as there than here.
- 19:05Speaker 6: Why are they getting into confrontation spraying with fire hoses?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Well, first of all, the cold is helped. There was
- 19:12Speaker 1: supposed to be a vicious, violent weekend protest. The cold
- 19:16Speaker 1: weather put an end to that last weekend. And they
- 19:18Speaker 1: do spray them, but they spray them with that it's
- 19:21Speaker 1: not I know what it is, mace or some chemical.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And they spray them in the face, freeze on them.
- 19:27Speaker 6: And they get the hell out of Dodge quick.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, yeah, but there's a lot of videos online
- 19:32Speaker 1: you can see of them getting sprayed. And it's not
- 19:33Speaker 1: with a little you know thing you hold in your hand,
- 19:35Speaker 1: little pepper spray thing. It's like a big fire hose
- 19:38Speaker 1: of spray. It's great to watch those videos because it
- 19:41Speaker 1: comes out all red and green and blue, like a
- 19:44Speaker 1: rainbow of powder, just going hitting them right in the face.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It's like a cannon. They use it. That stuff great stuff.
- 19:52Speaker 1: So hey, don't forget. If you're a podcast listener, you
- 19:56Speaker 1: get a bonus segment every weekend. There's an exit. It's
- 19:59Speaker 1: like having an extra show on the If you're a
- 20:02Speaker 1: podcast listen, you get a bonus segment every weekend. And
- 20:06Speaker 1: if you want to hear the show anytime, day or night,
- 20:08Speaker 1: just get the podcast any place you get podcasts. Let's
- 20:11Speaker 1: go to Uh, let's go to line too. How you doing,
- 20:15Speaker 1: I'm good?
- 20:16Speaker 6: How are you?
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'm good? How are you?
- 20:21Speaker 9: I'm calling about accessor ride.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Wor Yes, you sound very gentle. What are you calling about?
- 20:27Speaker 9: Access? The issues with accessor ride? They left me stranded
- 20:32Speaker 9: last night and the night before.
- 20:33Speaker 1: What's accessor right?
- 20:36Speaker 9: Uh, it's a transfer empty transferrace transportation for disabled.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Oh, and what happened they didn't show up.
- 20:45Speaker 9: They didn't show up Wednesday night or last night. Wow,
- 20:49Speaker 9: I was standing out Nicole twenty five minutes last night
- 20:53Speaker 9: because it kept saying writing in three minutes, arriving in
- 20:56Speaker 9: three minutes, they never showed up.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Well, sorry to hear that. You're okay now, I hope
- 21:01Speaker 1: everything you got home?
- 21:01Speaker 9: Okay, I got home. I just take accessorize. I had
- 21:05Speaker 9: to take an uber last night one day.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Oh all right, Well that's a terrible story. I hope
- 21:10Speaker 1: that doesn't happen again. Thanks for calling. Yeah, that's the
- 21:14Speaker 1: MTA for you. They've had not just the MTA, but
- 21:17Speaker 1: MTA Metro North Long Island Road. A lot of disruption
- 21:21Speaker 1: all this week because of the snow, because of whatever.
- 21:24Speaker 1: A lot of trains canceled late, didn't show up. But
- 21:26Speaker 1: that's a horrible story there. Hey, when we come back,
- 21:29Speaker 1: Charlie Gasparino will be with us, the best business reporter
- 21:32Speaker 1: on Earth. Lots to talk to him about coming up
- 21:34Speaker 1: next on seven to ten wor.
- 21:37Speaker 7: More Mark Simone on seven.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Well, Charlie Gasparino, the best business reporter on Earth. Of course,
- 21:45Speaker 1: you see him on the Fox Business Network and you
- 21:48Speaker 1: can read his columns The New York Post and make
- 21:51Speaker 1: sure you get his book. You'll love this book. It's
- 21:54Speaker 1: called Go Woke, Go Broke, big bestseller. You can get
- 21:57Speaker 1: it at Amazon. Go Woke, Go Broke. Charlie Gasprino, How
- 22:01Speaker 1: you doing good?
- 22:03Speaker 6: I just read that Don Lemon got arrested.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Well it's it's it's great, But aren't you worried that
- 22:11Speaker 1: this could make him into a big martyr, This could
- 22:13Speaker 1: make him into a big TV star all over again.
- 22:17Speaker 6: And I don't know Don Lemon will screw up anything.
- 22:23Speaker 2: He was like a.
- 22:23Speaker 6: Normal human being. I'd be like yeah times, like once
- 22:28Speaker 6: recently as a matter of fact. I mean he was like,
- 22:31Speaker 6: seemed like a nice guy. I just don't what he
- 22:35Speaker 6: did in that church and some of his other antics.
- 22:38Speaker 6: It's just so stupid. I don't I don't quite understand it.
- 22:43Speaker 6: It's I mean, okay, like, listen, you cover stories, but
- 22:49Speaker 6: aren't you partake in the story like he kind of
- 22:54Speaker 6: He definitely kind of stepped over the line and in
- 22:57Speaker 6: it's such a horrible way because all as they were
- 22:59Speaker 6: doing harassing poor people at church. It wasn't like these
- 23:03Speaker 6: was a clan rally or anything. These are a bunch
- 23:06Speaker 6: of Christians who are sitting there praying to God while
- 23:09Speaker 6: these assholes come in off the street and started using
- 23:13Speaker 6: them and their kids. And he made it sound like,
- 23:15Speaker 6: you know, it was MLKA coming across the Edmund Pettis Bridge.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You know, Well, if you read the lie, it's pretty specific.
- 23:24Speaker 1: You're not allowed to do anything to intimidate or interfere
- 23:27Speaker 1: with the service. It's pretty clear.
- 23:30Speaker 6: It's well, yeah, they you know, I just wonder, you know,
- 23:35Speaker 6: I mean, I wonder if he could fall behind that
- 23:37Speaker 6: that First Amendment stuff. But although it seemed like he
- 23:40Speaker 6: was so part of it, and just I wonder I
- 23:44Speaker 6: was giving him advice to do this stupid stuff because
- 23:46Speaker 6: it's really dumb. I mean, it's really really dumb. And
- 23:50Speaker 6: I don't think and this is why I don't think
- 23:53Speaker 6: he'll be a martyr on this mark. It's so stupid.
- 23:57Speaker 6: Even left these in the media will say it's stupid
- 24:00Speaker 6: what he did.
- 24:00Speaker 1: All right, that's a good point, Uh, Kevin, wash, Are
- 24:04Speaker 1: we happy with this? I am.
- 24:07Speaker 6: I think this is a great choice. I mean, so
- 24:10Speaker 6: I wrote a story I don't remember. It was a
- 24:12Speaker 6: couple of about a month ago that a bunch of
- 24:14Speaker 6: CEOs went to Trump and said, listen, if you're gonna
- 24:17Speaker 6: go there, do not pick you know, if you can
- 24:22Speaker 6: get rid of Howell, do not pick ascid Kevin has
- 24:25Speaker 6: and Kevin Hassen's a nice guy's a smart guy, but
- 24:28Speaker 6: he's way too much of a cheerleader. I mean, well,
- 24:30Speaker 6: you kind of need somebody that is seen as independent
- 24:34Speaker 6: because you know, whether we like it or not, we
- 24:37Speaker 6: sell a lot of debt. You know, we're still running
- 24:39Speaker 6: two trillion dollar budget deficits. If the FED is seen
- 24:42Speaker 6: as not independent, someone that's gonna FED share is gonna,
- 24:46Speaker 6: you know, on the phone with Trump juice in the
- 24:48Speaker 6: economy whenever Trump wants. You know, people are just not
- 24:51Speaker 6: gonna buy your debt because it's gonna inflation is gonna erode.
- 24:54Speaker 6: It's it's uh, it's buying it's it's it's that's been advantage.
- 25:02Speaker 6: So you you need someone that that's kind of like
- 25:05Speaker 6: in the middle. And Kevin Walsh really is an independent guy.
- 25:08Speaker 6: He's a long time inflation hawk. Got that back up.
- 25:11Speaker 6: My guess is he will agree with Trump and lower
- 25:14Speaker 6: short term rates fast. Uh, he will do other things
- 25:18Speaker 6: to mitigate the inflation impact of that, which is you know,
- 25:24Speaker 6: unwinding the Fed's massive ballad sheet. It controlled. It holds
- 25:28Speaker 6: all these assets and he needs to sell them. That
- 25:31Speaker 6: will keep that will keep the lid on interest rates.
- 25:34Speaker 6: And I think it's and I know the guy just
- 25:36Speaker 6: pull disclosure. I know my life. I've known a few years.
- 25:39Speaker 6: Really smart, decent man. I mean, this is a good
- 25:42Speaker 6: a good choice, really good.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Well that's that's good here. But do we want to
- 25:46Speaker 1: fed trim in the talkish?
- 25:49Speaker 6: It depends on the hawk is Well, you do you
- 25:52Speaker 6: like inflation?
- 25:54Speaker 1: No, I'm not not crazy about it.
- 25:55Speaker 6: No, So I mean, inflation is probably the worst thing
- 25:59Speaker 6: for one of the worst things for an economy because
- 26:02Speaker 6: it really destroys the social fabric. If you're an average
- 26:05Speaker 6: person and you work like really hard, but you still
- 26:08Speaker 6: can't afford food, which inflation gives you. And that's kind
- 26:12Speaker 6: of the problem that Biden had. And by extent eris
- 26:17Speaker 6: you know, you've got a real societal problem. And I
- 26:19Speaker 6: and I think that's what he's good at. I mean,
- 26:22Speaker 6: I think he'll understand that there is a dual mandate.
- 26:27Speaker 6: It's inflation first in the context of full employment. He
- 26:32Speaker 6: understands that. And if you want to spur the economy,
- 26:36Speaker 6: that's where you got fiscal policy coming out of the
- 26:38Speaker 6: White House. And I think this is kind of what
- 26:42Speaker 6: with the FED lost track of the FED under power,
- 26:45Speaker 6: became like part of the the sort of the fabric
- 26:49Speaker 6: of fiscal policy and and White House policy, and he
- 26:53Speaker 6: can't be it engaged in ESG and DEI and all
- 26:56Speaker 6: these radical leftist clauses. And I think, you know, I
- 27:02Speaker 6: think Warsh understands. I know he understands that. So I
- 27:05Speaker 6: think he will he will give Trump what he wants,
- 27:08Speaker 6: lower short term interest rates, which I don't understand why
- 27:11Speaker 6: he's so obsessed with that, because the short term interest
- 27:13Speaker 6: rates really mean little. It's the ten year that means
- 27:17Speaker 6: a lot. And that's all based on plation expectations. That's
- 27:19Speaker 6: where all the consumer rates are pegged off.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Him.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Yeah, be that as it may. He'll play the game
- 27:24Speaker 6: and he'll do it. Well. I guess, all right.
- 27:26Speaker 1: That's good to hear. Hey, mom Donnie has been in
- 27:28Speaker 1: office now for two three weeks and a lot of
- 27:30Speaker 1: people are saying, well, it seems okay, nothing bad, But
- 27:34Speaker 1: how do you read the mom Donnie situation?
- 27:38Speaker 6: I mean, you know, he's a horrible moron.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I mean that's a good analysis, but.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Literally, right, he doesn't. He didn't want the tops to
- 27:49Speaker 6: get rid of the homeless guys off the streets and
- 27:51Speaker 6: some zero weather or guess what they died. I mean,
- 27:53Speaker 6: the guy is a complete idiot. If he was this
- 27:57Speaker 6: was anybody when when an R next to its name,
- 28:00Speaker 6: the New York Times would be running front page stories
- 28:02Speaker 6: about how he needs to be the one thing. I
- 28:06Speaker 6: wrote about this in the Post today, and I've been
- 28:08Speaker 6: writing about this a lot. There's a lot that he
- 28:11Speaker 6: can't do because of a guy named Hugh Carry, a
- 28:15Speaker 6: former governor, a guy named Felix Roat and who is
- 28:18Speaker 6: a former financier the public but you know, you know,
- 28:22Speaker 6: dedicate his life the civic work in New York City
- 28:24Speaker 6: and basically bringing the city back after the financial crisis
- 28:28Speaker 6: of the seventies. They created a structure where you can't
- 28:32Speaker 6: run budget deficits or else you lose control of the budget.
- 28:35Speaker 6: The state takes it over. It's almost impossible going to
- 28:38Speaker 6: the fold. Don olders get first DIBs on tax revenues
- 28:43Speaker 6: even before it goes to pay all these programs. You
- 28:46Speaker 6: can raise taxes, but you need the state to raise
- 28:50Speaker 6: for you. In many ways. If you lose population because
- 28:54Speaker 6: you raise taxes and the state agrees to it. Well,
- 28:57Speaker 6: guess what then you have budget deficits. And if you
- 29:00Speaker 6: run a deficit the end of the year, because you
- 29:04Speaker 6: you will lose control of the budget. It goes to
- 29:06Speaker 6: the state. So all those handcuffs are on even a
- 29:10Speaker 6: comedie like Mandami. Oh, I think even in unis ball
- 29:15Speaker 6: bond crisis. By the way, you need debt in New
- 29:18Speaker 6: York City is very I just wrote about this is
- 29:20Speaker 6: very is very flat right now. I mean the price
- 29:23Speaker 6: is our movement. It's they're high, They're up a little bit. Anyway,
- 29:28Speaker 6: that's where we are right now. It'll be interest to
- 29:30Speaker 6: see what he does. I mean, I mean Mandami, even
- 29:32Speaker 6: when it doesn't come to taxes and all, that can
- 29:35Speaker 6: really rerek havoc on the city and culturally in somebody
- 29:38Speaker 6: other ways. Obviously, I just worry about these ice protests
- 29:42Speaker 6: coming to New York and every soon because you have
- 29:44Speaker 6: the same sort of political dynamic as you have in Minnesota.
- 29:47Speaker 6: Minnesota have a bunch of leftists, like really crave and leftists,
- 29:51Speaker 6: including a moron as Governor Tim Watson almost became our
- 29:55Speaker 6: vice president, you know, Aggan, on these violent leftist protesters,
- 29:59Speaker 6: you can see someone like Mandami doing the same because
- 30:03Speaker 6: that he's cut from that cloth cloth as. By the way,
- 30:06Speaker 6: these protesters aren't people. They aren't just like protesting. These
- 30:10Speaker 6: are trained, near militia style trained leftist anarchists. So I
- 30:18Speaker 6: think I'm worried about that coming to the city more
- 30:21Speaker 6: than even like him raising taxes.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we should stop using the word protester.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That implies you're standing there across the street with a
- 30:30Speaker 1: sign and yelling, but when you're spitting in their face,
- 30:32Speaker 1: they're kicking the tail light out of their car. That
- 30:35Speaker 1: that's behind a protester, isn't it.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 6: I mean you saw the one that was shot right, Yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 6: I mean the Americans die. That guy was out of
- 30:45Speaker 6: his mind. I mean he's a crazy protester. I mean,
- 30:50Speaker 6: and by the way, who shows up You know, I can't.
- 30:54Speaker 6: I want to respect the dead Alex Pretty or Predo,
- 30:57Speaker 6: whatever his name is. Yeah, I see, you nerves were
- 31:00Speaker 6: supposed to electively. This guy came a lot, came. He
- 31:05Speaker 6: was He had two backup rounds on a concealed weapon
- 31:11Speaker 6: when he was getting an attacking cops. What does that
- 31:16Speaker 6: tell you? I mean, that's that's pretty pretty wild. If
- 31:23Speaker 6: you asked me very aggressive.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah, And if you saw police carrying out an operation,
- 31:27Speaker 1: who has the nerve to go over there and try
- 31:29Speaker 1: to stop it? Interfere with it? That takes a hell
- 31:31Speaker 1: of a lot of.
- 31:32Speaker 6: Nerve, which a loaded weapon.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yeah, what is that? Charlie Gasperino, great talk. And Hey,
- 31:42Speaker 1: if anybody out there doesn't have the book, go woke,
- 31:44Speaker 1: go broke. Uh, get this book. You're gonna love it.
- 31:48Speaker 1: And are you doing TV today?
- 31:51Speaker 6: No, because I'm barely They already got back my voice.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Oh okay. Well, otherwise, you see him all over the
- 31:57Speaker 1: Fox Business Network doing the great reporting, read his columns
- 32:01Speaker 1: New York Post, and make sure you follom on Twitter.
- 32:03Speaker 1: He is one of the best tweeters on earth. Charlie
- 32:06Speaker 1: Gasparino at Twitter. Charlie, thanks for being with us. Take care. Hey,
- 32:13Speaker 1: we got a lot coming up today. You got Buck
- 32:16Speaker 1: and Clay at noon right after the news. Then you
- 32:18Speaker 1: got the most listened to radio show in America. Sean Hannity,
- 32:22Speaker 1: got Jesse Kelly six o'clock and Jimmy Failot is a
- 32:25Speaker 1: wonderful new show here. It's nine to midnight, funny, interesting.
- 32:29Speaker 1: That's all coming up the rest of the day here
- 32:31Speaker 1: on seven to ten wor.
- 32:35Speaker 7: Mark Simo.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Hey, Now, remember earlier in the program, we were talking
- 32:45Speaker 1: about the Epstein files, and I said, there's five point
- 32:47Speaker 1: two million pages and they've got four hundred lawyers at
- 32:52Speaker 1: the Justice Department reviewing them. You can't just release these files.
- 32:55Speaker 1: You got to review them carefully and make sure you
- 32:58Speaker 1: remove any thing that identifies the victims, that kind of stuff.
- 33:02Speaker 1: So they had to go through five point two million pages.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That's what's taken so long. But as we speak, the
- 33:09Speaker 1: Justice Department has just released three point five million pages.
- 33:14Speaker 1: That's about two thirds of what's left. So all that's
- 33:17Speaker 1: left is about thirty percent. But today, right now, they're
- 33:20Speaker 1: releasing three point five million pages of the Epstein file.
- 33:25Speaker 1: This will include at least two thousand videos and one
- 33:31Speaker 1: hundred and eighty thousand images that these are pictures, all
- 33:36Speaker 1: of which were taken by Epstein. Now, I take a
- 33:40Speaker 1: lot of pictures. I'm a big photographer. All day long,
- 33:42Speaker 1: I'm taking pictures of anything and everything. And if you
- 33:45Speaker 1: look at my Instagram, I'm always putting a picture. I
- 33:48Speaker 1: just love taking pictures. But I looked on my phone
- 33:50Speaker 1: to see how many pictures I have and this is
- 33:52Speaker 1: for years. It's like it's only about twenty thousand pictures.
- 33:58Speaker 1: You know, how would anybody take a one hundred and
- 34:00Speaker 1: eighty thousand pictures? And this is just one batch altogether,
- 34:04Speaker 1: there's something like almost a million pictures. Who could take
- 34:07Speaker 1: that many pictures? But if you want to start going
- 34:10Speaker 1: through them, they're out there today. Hey, we're out of time.
- 34:13Speaker 1: No snow. It looks like no snow from Manhattan or
- 34:16Speaker 1: within about fifty miles of Manhattan. So that's good news.
- 34:21Speaker 1: If you want to listen to the podcast, don't forget
- 34:24Speaker 1: there's a bonus segment. You get an extra show, an
- 34:26Speaker 1: extra segment on the podcast, and you can hear the
- 34:29Speaker 1: show the podcast any place you get podcasts. So thanks
- 34:32Speaker 1: for listening. I'll be back Monday ten to noon. Have
- 34:35Speaker 1: a great weekend. Thanks for everything. Talk to you Monday
- 34:38Speaker 1: at ten right here on seven to ten wor
