- 0:14SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be here every Saturday now for the next two months.
- 0:18Dayna Roselli: More on his new residency home at Fountain Blue.
- 0:21Sean McAllister: Then a couple new restaurant experiences to share, a French spot in the arts district, and some Mediterranean.
- 0:28Dayna Roselli: Plus, pop icon Debbie Gibson revealed details of her new memoir due out this year.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Almost a year and a half has flown by.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: In working on it, and it's like, and now it's coming out.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: So it's it's daunting, it's exciting.
- 0:41Sean McAllister: We've got this and more coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:46Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed starts now.
- 0:49Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to Vegas Revealed.
- 0:51Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli along with Sean McAllister.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: We're at episode 264 and off the heels of a very busy weekend, including a really fun and interesting podcast seminar that we did at the East Las Vegas Library.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: We had a blast meeting so many fellow podcasters and people that attended.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I thought it was really cool to find out that uh some libraries here in Las Vegas have a free podcast studio so that you can go in and record your own show and break into the podcast verse yourself.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: I know, and it's so many people think it's just books at the library, which they have, you know, obviously books available and everyone should keep reading.
- 1:33Dayna Roselli: It's actually really fun to walk into a library, it revives you to think like I I want to start reading more.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: But they have other things other than just books, like you just mentioned, because well, it's a new day, right?
- 1:44Dayna Roselli: It's a new age, and and there are other things that people are doing to get creative.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: And it's nice that we see our library system helping out and offering some free re resources.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: I think when I was growing up, the the coolest multimedia thing the library had was film strips.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, those were good.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: What do they call they called it something else?
- 2:03Sean McAllister: Um microfilms.
- 2:05Sean McAllister: Microfilms with the big screens and you scroll through newspaper and magazine articles.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: But you could find everything.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: If you wanted to find if something was mentioned in a newspaper, think about it, and you could actually look at it and put it.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was it was cool.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: I'm glad we learned like that.
- 2:20Sean McAllister: So am I.
- 2:20Sean McAllister: So am I.
- 2:21Sean McAllister: The analog life.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: I'm glad that I have the the vast majority of my two feet are in the analog world.
- 2:28Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: And I'm just like tiptoeing into the digital world.
- 2:31Sean McAllister: It's true.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: But I knew it's a it was we have an appreciation for both both sides.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: We do.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: We had a great time at that, though.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: It was interesting to talk about podcasting.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: I know that so many people have an interest in it and want to learn more and they're thinking about doing their own.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: So, you know, everyone always says we don't need another podcast.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: I mentioned this before, and it's like, no, we do like more variety the better.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: And a lot of different people want to talk about different kinds of topics, and there's something for everyone.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, and by the way, if uh you are listening to Vegas Revealed for the first time this week, because you were there at the podcast summit, welcome.
- 3:07Sean McAllister: We love having you along.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: And a reminder, we have a link down in our show notes uh where you can text us your thoughts, your questions, your ideas, uh whatever you want.
- 3:19Sean McAllister: You can just click that link and text us.
- 3:22Sean McAllister: We'll get the message.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: We don't get your name, we don't get your number, anything like that, but we do get your message and we'll respond to it on the next episode of the podcast.
- 3:31Sean McAllister: Speaking of, uh last week on the uh podcast here, we talked about that uh AI Howard Hotel, Autonomous Hotel, and that's been getting a lot of traction.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: It really has.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: Uh the numbers are great, people are interested interested in it.
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: The interview that we did with the uh founder and CEO, you know, we kind of ran the whole thing.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: You know, for our television version, you know, we we condense and cut things down a little bit and pick the best tidbits and that kind of thing.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: But you know, usually for the audio podcasts, some with something like that, we know that everyone has an interest to kind of get more of a deep dive.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: So we hope that you enjoyed that.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: It seems like people have because we're getting a great response from it that people are actually learning more than just, you know, one minute of coverage that they're seeing on TV or, you know, some of the articles that are out there that, you know, aren't super lengthy.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: So it was good to share some of that information, give people a better understanding.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: But like Sean mentioned, if you do have more questions, you can click that link in our show notes, text us, and we'll answer it on the next podcast.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: All right, let's dive into some of the stuff that uh we've been up to over the past uh several days, Dana, because as you mentioned, it has been absolutely packed.
- 4:45Sean McAllister: We've been bouncing around like ping pong balls all over the place.
- 4:48Sean McAllister: Um one thing that I went to on Friday night, this past Friday night, uh stopped over to Ortikia.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: This is a Greek Mediterranean restaurant inside of Green Valley Ranch, which is off the strip in Henderson in the Green Valley uh community.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Um beautiful restaurant.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: I know we've talked about it here uh on the podcast before, but I had never been in to eat.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: And it was it's a beautiful restaurant.
- 5:16Sean McAllister: Great service.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: Um, and the reason I stopped in there, they had this live fire feast, which was kind of a a pop-up um uh collaboration kind of a meal.
- 5:28Sean McAllister: One night only, uh, where you had to buy tickets in advance, with uh it was Chef Sheldon Simeon, who's a top chef season six finalist.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: Uh Hawaiian cuisine uh is part of his specialty.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: Bruce Bromberg also uh they collaborated in the kitchen.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: Bruce is the founder of Blue Ribbon Restaurants, which operates Ortikia.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: Uh so it was kind of this fusion of Hawaiian and Mediterranean cuisine, which you d uh don't normally think that that would go together.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:58Sean McAllister: But one of the standouts, and I think you're gonna look at me like I'm a little bit crazy, Dana.
- 6:04Sean McAllister: Uh one of the standouts that I absolutely loved was one of the little bites at the very beginning of the meal.
- 6:10Sean McAllister: It was uh chicken liver pate.
- 6:12Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: So it was the pate on top of this mochi butter kind of uh macadamia nut square with guava jelly.
- 6:26Sean McAllister: So it was like this combination of flavors, once you bid into it, all the flavors just kind of came together and there was layer after layer, and it was fantastic.
- 6:38Sean McAllister: There was some great seafood.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: Um by the way, it's a wood fire restaurant, so everything is cooked over the open flame.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: You get the some of that smokiness.
- 6:48Sean McAllister: Uh they just scallops over the open flame.
- 6:51Sean McAllister: So uh it was a delicious meal.
- 6:53Sean McAllister: Uh it was great to be invited over there.
- 6:56Sean McAllister: Or Tikia at Green Valley Ranch, highly recommend it.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, uh, it always looks good, and I you know, it's uh we always try and get to as much as we can.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: Sometimes you don't make it to everything.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: I'm glad you made it over there because we've done stuff on it before, and that wood fire uh cooking does look really good.
- 7:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, and they have some great cocktails too.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: How was the inside, the ambiance in there?
- 7:15Sean McAllister: And it was beautiful.
- 7:16Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: It's uh nice restaurants at Green Valley Ranch.
- 7:19Sean McAllister: I mean, it feels very I don't know how to explain it.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: It feels very uh it feels classy, but not like uh unapproachable, not stuffy, and the staff, the servers were great, so fun and walk you through the menu and it really help you out a lot.
- 7:38Sean McAllister: So I I'm looking forward to going back for a regular dinner service.
- 7:43Sean McAllister: And then they said more pop-ups like this um are planned in the future, so keep your eye out.
- 7:48Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 7:49Dayna Roselli: Well, that same night we did go to the opening of the F1 attraction.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: Well, it wasn't the opening, excuse me.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: Let me step back.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: It was a media preview.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: It actually does not open now until May 2nd, and we're talking about the F1 Grand Prix Plaza attraction, and basically we had we've talked about it in another podcast.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: So it just different experiences inside.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: It's the world's largest F1 attraction.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: They're using the space that they have for F1, uh, like on the times and time period around um the race.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: So, like, you know, they'll they'll break down and get ready for the race uh, you know, in November, and then once the race is is done and they get everything back organized, they'll open up again.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: But um, Wayne Newton was there, and it was great to see Wayne.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: It was been a while.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: Wayne is so great.
- 8:39Sean McAllister: When when I I got there, I saw Wayne standing over to the side, and I went over, I was like, Wayne, how's it going, man?
- 8:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, he's like, Oh, great to see ya.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: And I was like, You got your checkered flag duties tonight, huh?
- 8:51Sean McAllister: You're ready for some racing action?
- 8:52Sean McAllister: He was like, Oh, I'm always ready.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: I know.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: Like, all right, you go get him, Tiger.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: He looked great.
- 8:57Sean McAllister: He did.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: You know, he just he has a great presence, and when Wayne Newton is there, you know, something special's going on.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: Well, it was so it's interesting.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: I know you and I have known Wayne for years.
- 9:08Sean McAllister: We've interviewed him so many times over the years.
- 9:12Sean McAllister: Um, but seeing people there who have not had a personal interaction with Wayne before, there was, I mean, uh men, women, young, old, people were waiting for their chance to go over and say hi to Wayne and snap a selfie.
- 9:28Sean McAllister: I he is iconic.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: He is.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: I mean, really.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: He's great.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: I I really loved seeing him there, and he had his leather jacket on and the whole nine, the F1 uh jacket or whatever.
- 9:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, he just looked so cool.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: Uh, that was fun to see.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: And they had this um, you know, and when he was waving the flag, this this go-karting experience they had there just is super cool.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: I think people are really gonna enjoy this.
- 9:50Sean McAllister: They are, and so Wayne's official duty was to wave the checkered flag for the inaugural lap around uh this go-kart track.
- 9:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, and the go-karts really are uh they're it's impressive.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: The whole setup is impressive.
- 10:05Sean McAllister: The track, all the uh exhibits, uh the interactive elements that they have.
- 10:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's a very well done uh experience.
- 10:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, there's an area you can go in and learn all about the history and the details and what goes into the cars and the actual racers, um, drivers, I should say.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: Also, there's a amazing store like you know, the hub there.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: They have uh great seated areas and food and they have simulators.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, it it's pretty wild.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: I think you're gonna enjoy it.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: Again, it opens May 2nd.
- 10:38Sean McAllister: And I think the food and drink that they uh offer there too is elevated cuisine.
- 10:43Sean McAllister: So that gives you a taste of you know what the food and beverage is like uh if you go there for the race as well.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: So again, that's over at the Grand Prix Plaza starting May 2nd.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and if you're not familiar, if you're a visitor in Vegas um and aren't familiar where the Grand Prix Plaza is, it's on Harmon and Cobalt, okay?
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: So that's just to the east of the Las Vegas Strip.
- 11:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, diagonal from Top Golf, if that helps at all.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: All right, well, we did a fantastic interview with David Getta.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: He's a longtime DJ.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: That's coming up in just a minute, but let's talk about our experience at the Nevada Ballet Black and White Ball.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: It's an annual event and it's a big fundraiser for the na the arts in Nevada Ballet, which you know they put on productions all the time, all year long here in Las Vegas.
- 11:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think they said 57 years Nevada Ballet has been putting on performances for the the Las Vegas community, and this fundraiser is really what drives the future of Nevada Ballet.
- 11:43Sean McAllister: Every year they uh have a new honoree.
- 11:46Sean McAllister: They have the woman of the year, Rita Moreno, Olivia Newton John, uh I mean so many incredible honorees.
- 11:56Sean McAllister: This year was Pop Icon Debbie Gibson.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: And she's a friend of ours, so we were super thrilled that they were gonna be honoring Debbie and well deserved.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: Um, she looked fabulous.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: Uh, she performed, great performance, uh, had the crowd going.
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: She did a little medley of her hits.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, Debbie has lived in Las Vegas a long time.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: Uh, we mention that all the time, but still people don't really realize that.
- 12:20Dayna Roselli: Sometimes I'll say I'm friends with Debbie and like, you are, and I'll say, Yeah, she lives here, and then she does, you know.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: So she did, she does live here, and you'll see her around town at the different resorts and shopping at the mall and at uh coffee shops and stuff like that.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: So um she comes and goes because she's, you know, sometimes doing tours, etc.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: But we did want to pull her aside and talk about, you know, some of the things that she's got coming up because, you know, when I see Debbie Post or Fan Club's post about Debbie, I mean, she is so loved by so many because she has been around for so long pumping out, you know, creative things all the time, whether it's uh music, you know, um acoustic sets, Hallmark movies, Hallmark movies.
- 13:04Dayna Roselli: Uh, she's been, you know, in and acted in several different, you know, shows and series outside of Hallmark as well.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: Broadway.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: You'll see her on yeah, you'll see her on some of those uh, you know, like name that tune, and she was on the Mass Singer, and I mean she's done so much recently.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: So we're proud of her.
- 13:24Sean McAllister: We are, and so this honor uh really was a special thing for Debbie to receive, and we were happy to be there to see her receive this honor.
- 13:34Sean McAllister: We also spoke with her on the red carpet ahead of time about uh the projects that she has coming up and how important live performance is.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: So important.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: Like I went to see my friend Donnie Lesman the other day, and I've seen him so many times, but the food for the soul that is a live show is everything.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: And then about a ballet, like you know, I grew up uh singing in the Metropolitan Upper in the Children's Chorus, and very similarly to hear the symphonic sum, to be transported to the kind of transition, like everyone's attention, spam, and you're forced to spam when you want to be you're forced to be patient, but I do believe it like ships energy, and then you leave.
- 14:31Sean McAllister: Coming up this summer and looking.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: I know the holidays are always fun for you too.
- 14:35Sean McAllister: What do you have coming up?
- 14:36Sean McAllister: Because I know that you're always on the gum, you always have plans and projects.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Um, there's a lot of touring coming up, like I'll be in a child and um can a couple of dates in Canada.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: I haven't done a lot of international touring lately, and so that's exciting to be getting back into that.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: Um, my book, my memoir eternally electric's coming about September month.
- 14:58Sean McAllister: Oh my god, what has it been like writing your memory?
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: It's tough.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: It's it's so tough because it makes me lumber.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: I can even just take my favorite production of me.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: It's interesting.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Um I don't like calling people um if if it's not necessary.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: So um calling mum.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: This is a little tricky decision for me because I'm gonna wanna be wimpy um like telling the truth.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: I'm telling my story.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Some also interesting line from my sisters on my sister's like mine for almost a year and a half of some.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: I'm working on it, and then it's like a minute's coming up.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: So it's it's daunting, it's exciting.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Um, I always hope that people will gain something from it for their own life.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Like, oh, if Teb went through that and got through that, and ended up in this then I can too.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Like, that's always my mission, really.
- 16:32Dayna Roselli: And kudos to the Nevada Ballet.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: They put on a great gala every single year.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: It was fabulous to see Tony Orlando there and introduce Debbie and speak about her and what an impact she's had on him and vice versa and their relationship through the years.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: And Tony is also iconic and what a great guy.
- 16:51Sean McAllister: He is just so positive.
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 16:54Sean McAllister: And it was great to see the chemistry between the two.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: Great time that we had there.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: So thanks again to the Nevada Ballet for offering uh us to be there and cover this event and interview Debbie.
- 17:07Dayna Roselli: We had a wonderful time and um they raised a lot of money for a good cause.
- 17:11Sean McAllister: Well, we I think mentioned it last week that pool season here in Las Vegas is officially underway.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: The weather's warm enough to get out there, get that, you know, base tan going, jump in the water, have a party while you're doing it.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's like that time of year where we have like a couple warm days and it cools down just a little bit, but still nice.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: And then warms up and then cools down.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: It's kind of nice because you get a little break in between.
- 17:35Sean McAllister: You do.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: It's the seesaw, and one of these days that the break stops, the temperature swing is gonna swing really high.
- 17:45Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: But you know what?
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: You know who's ready for it is David Getta.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: I loved talking with him.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: Um, he is a longtime DJ.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: He really put, you know, DJing on the map.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: He's been around for a long time.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: He's he's we've seen him in Las Vegas uh through the years, but he's all over the world and he's got so many hits.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: Somebody said to me, like, wait, what songs does he?
- 18:07Dayna Roselli: I'm like, oh my gosh, like this song, that song.
- 18:09Dayna Roselli: If just put put his name into Apple Music and you'll be like, oh my gosh, I love this song.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: And he's collaborated a lot with Sia.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: Sia, yeah.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: He's got so many radio hits.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: And so anyway, we were excited that uh he has a new residency over at Fountain Blue at Live Beach and Live Nightclub.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: And he's gonna be around for the next two months.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: And so if you're interested in seeing David, now is the time.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: He's doing actually a total of 13 Vegas shows at the moment.
- 18:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, so we stopped over there.
- 18:37Sean McAllister: We were out there at Live Beach poolside.
- 18:40Sean McAllister: David came out in his shades, ready to set the scene for us and set the vibe for what you can expect out there at Live and Live Beach.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Pretty unique, I have to say, you know, because for example, even in the B side, I play a pool party, but I play late, like nine o'clock, people come dressed up.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: It's the only place in the world where I see a crazy pool party in the middle of the afternoon, under the sun, everyone wearing a bikini.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: It's like the sexiest party on the planet.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: It's it's unbelievable.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: And I love this club.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: I think it's it's very special.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: It's built a little bit like an arena so everyone can see everyone, everyone can look at the DJ.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: I like that a lot.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: It's it's really uh a crazy energy.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: And last week I uh I came to say hi to uh John Summit, inviting me for a back-to-back, and I was so nervous before making that big move to come here, and now I'm like completely relaxed because I felt it.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, the energy here is crazy.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: This is gonna work.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:50Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, you you've been around and you've seen changes and evolution.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: Did you see the scene today?
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Did you see that coming?
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Well, if I'm honest, when I started, like I'm talking like 15 years ago, I didn't like playing Vegas because it felt to me like people didn't understand the music, didn't understand the culture.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: And I've been so impressed to see the I don't know, like the incredible investment of time, money, marketing to teach people.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: And I've witnessed the DJ culture grow every year since then.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: And now I'm having such an amazing time.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Every time I'm I'm in Vegas, so that's that's why I'm taking this residency.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be here every Saturday now for the next two months, and um I know it's gonna be a great time.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: And I was gonna say, a lot of people say, well, I don't know if that's for me, you know, but then once you once they experience it, they're addicted.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: I I I think, you know, I can really speak about it because I was one of those persons saying, I don't know if it's for me.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: But Vegas is really in a different place than it was 15 years ago.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: You have like the best restaurants, the best service, the best hotels, you have the best of everything.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm not a gambler.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it was I think it it became a place where you get entertained at the highest possible level in anything you want to do.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: So if you want to gamble, you gamble.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: If you don't, you have the best shows, the best restaurants, the, you know, like they have in this hotel the best spa I've ever seen.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: So what I'm trying to say, like, I could come with my kids here and not go party, uh, you know, so there are so many ways to experience Vegas.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: And and I've I've really witnessed this evolution.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: And I think, you know, when you're a kid, you dream of going to Disneyland.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: And when you're not old, you do know of going to Vegas.
- 22:03unknown: It's true.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: I agree.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: I agree.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: And listen, when people are watching you and and you're you're you're really given it, you know, and they must look at you and go, what is a day like for David Gedda in Vegas?
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: I mean, where did your day start?
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: What time does it start?
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: When did you have a routine?
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: Are there things you love to do?
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: What gets you pumped for the show?
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, I stayed at the hotel for the entire week.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: And it was a fantastic experience.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: I wanted to really understand the place uh before starting the season.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: And after my first show, I said, okay, I'm gonna, you know, spend the week until Saturday.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: And uh I really created my own routine.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: And I and, you know, of course, when it's Saturday, I'm playing.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: That's it's and it's all about that.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: But the rest of the day, I I've been, you know, waking up around like 9:30, I take a breakfast, go to the gym, crazy gym with light, natural light, which is very important for me and very rare.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: Um, the best spa I've seen, incredible restaurants.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm having the time of my life really.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: Any artist that you're looking at now going, I see, I see this person's gonna blow up.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: You know, um, because you know, I'd love to know your thoughts on that stuff.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: I'm sure you well, one thing I love about playing here is like there's this whole new generation of DJs that are playing here.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: I've been around, so it's always inspiring to have young DJs around uh because, you know, I think I probably influence them, but they also influence me.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: And this is what keeps me relevant.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: So, you know, having playing with John Summer, Dandala, uh Clooney, all those guys that are playing here, they're really dope and and they're the new generation.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: So for me, it's really exciting.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: As much as, you know, I love playing with Tiesto and and and Armin and Carl Cars, they're all my friends, you know.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: We all grew up together in the in that industry, but it's also inspiring to see kids coming with a new vibe, you know.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: And I've been to the Fountain Blue pool many times, like out for different events, but I had never gone to the Live Beach section, so it's beautiful.
- 24:25Sean McAllister: It really is.
- 24:26Sean McAllister: I just saw, and it was the day after uh we were out there, I saw somebody post that uh they were out there with a group of girlfriends uh having a birthday party.
- 24:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:36Sean McAllister: At one of the villas, I think they call them, where you have your own private pool, a glass pool.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it's great in there.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: So I mean, we need to go at some point.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: Uh like David said, we're ready to party.
- 24:50Sean McAllister: And there's no age limit at the day club.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: No age limit.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: I like that he encourages young.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: Well, we can't be an uncle.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: You can't be too young.
- 24:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 24:58Dayna Roselli: But you know, well, young, young, like just on the high end.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: Younger than us, right?
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: Um, oh my gosh.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: And he, I've seen some videos of him doing his thing, and he just looks like he has a blast and gets the crowd going.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: So love it.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: Uh, happy to see David back here in Las Vegas and glad that he has this nice partnership going with Fountain Blue.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: All right, let's get to our tips.
- 25:23Dayna Roselli: Our first tip is kind of a follow-up to last week's tip.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: We told you we were going to the new restaurant in downtown Las Vegas in the arts district.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: It's Chef James Trees opening another restaurant.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: We've been telling you about it for a little while.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: It's called Barbohem.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: Am I saying it right?
- 25:39Sean McAllister: Uh Bohem.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: Boem.
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: Barboem.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: Barboem.
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: Um, and we went for a tasting before it opened.
- 25:47Dayna Roselli: It's so let's see, when this podcast dropped, it is now officially opened.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: Opened on April 1st.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: And boy, the tasting that we uh was got was fabulous.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: Both you and I kept looking at each other, going, This food is bursting with flavor.
- 26:01Sean McAllister: Everything from the bite-sized canopes all the way up to the main dishes.
- 26:07Sean McAllister: Um, and even I heard that the uh their burger is phenomenal.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: They weren't serving it at the tasting that we went to.
- 26:16Sean McAllister: Uh, but next time we go in there, you better bet I am getting the burger.
- 26:20Sean McAllister: And how about those fries?
- 26:22Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, the impregnated fries.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: The impregnated fries.
- 26:25Sean McAllister: They're impregnated.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: That's what we call them, but that's not, it was with him explaining what he does to the fries to make them taste so good.
- 26:31Sean McAllister: There's a whole process, and they're impregnated with some drippings from the the steak as it cooks.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: It's a whole thing, but they are so delicious and so crispy and crunchy all the way through.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: They were good.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: It was funny because you know, we were doing the tasting, which is good because you could like really sit there and uh put on some calories if you didn't just dip in.
- 26:54Sean McAllister: You could.
- 26:55Sean McAllister: So Chef James Trees, as uh the courses were coming out, he was kind of explaining uh where the the uh the influence, the inspiration came from for each of the dishes.
- 27:06Sean McAllister: And it really what it came from is uh sh the chef went over to Barce and ate at a bunch of uh the best restaurants in France and said, Well, how can I elevate what they're doing and put my own spin on it?
- 27:23Sean McAllister: And so that's what he has done with his entire menu.
- 27:27Sean McAllister: I mean, the the beef bourguignon, I know that was my favorite, right?
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: That was your favorite.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: I asked her, I was like, what was that called?
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: Because I need to come back and like eat it as my meal.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: It would the it was like a smoky, flavorful, it was delicious.
- 27:40Sean McAllister: It was you can tell that that was just layered.
- 27:43Sean McAllister: The flavors just were layered in there.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: And even the mussels had a lot of flavor.
- 27:48Sean McAllister: The mussels were delicious, cold and hot mussels.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: So good.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: Oh, what about that uh cauliflower?
- 27:54Sean McAllister: Oh, it was easy.
- 27:56Sean McAllister: The it wasn't macaroni and cheese because uh Chef Trees told us he was like, I serve mac and cheese at my other restaurant.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: He was like, So I'm not serving it here.
- 28:09Sean McAllister: It is the trying to find it on the menu.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: Oh, it's the cauliflower gratten.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: Yes, is what it is.
- 28:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's good.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: I get that.
- 28:18Sean McAllister: These are all in French.
- 28:19Sean McAllister: I'm looking at the menu right now.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: And the prices are decent, you know.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: I mean, the food is really good.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: And so I expected this restaurant to be a little bit pricier.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: I don't know, would you say it's more expensive than Esther's Kitchen or same?
- 28:33Sean McAllister: Uh I would say it's it's in line.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because it depends, because it's like the the dishes are different.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: There's different with levels, you know?
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: So, but um, it's very uh within price range and like affordable.
- 28:49Sean McAllister: Well, just to give you an example, uh, the seafood tower.
- 28:52Sean McAllister: There's three uh different levels of seafood tower here at Barboem.
- 28:57Sean McAllister: Um, starting at$69 for a seafood tower, you go somewhere on the strip, you're starting at 200.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:04Sean McAllister: Even the the grand seafood tower at Barbohem is less than 200.
- 29:10Sean McAllister: So your max price for the most extravagant seafood tower offering is less than what you start at on the strip.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: And I can't remember what restaurant we went to.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: It might have been Ocean Prime, but we posted on TikTok, the seafood tower.
- 29:22Dayna Roselli: Like I was surprised.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: Well, it was part of a longer like video, and people were really into the like people are into their seafood towers.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: They are.
- 29:30Dayna Roselli: I didn't realize it was such a thing.
- 29:32Sean McAllister: Oh, I love a good seafood tower.
- 29:33Sean McAllister: I know I usually don't order them, but I do love them.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: Um, anyway, loved I love the atmosphere.
- 29:40Dayna Roselli: Oh, it's beautiful.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: They've got booths and tables, a great bar right there in the middle, windows.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: What a great spot.
- 29:46Dayna Roselli: I'm happy for them.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: And right next door is Petit Bohem, and that is a bar focusing on most just cocktails and stuff, and really great pro cocktail program over there.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: Great decor.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: I just I really enjoyed it.
- 30:00Dayna Roselli: I look forward to going back on you know a day that it's open.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: And every time I go down to the arts district, I enjoy it more and more.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: I absolutely love what all of the restaurant owners, the shop owners, the bar and lounge owners, the boutiques.
- 30:17Sean McAllister: I it's an eclectic feel, but it's also like kind of kind of a cohesive neighborhood kind of a feel too.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: No, really.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: And great people that work down there.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: They know what they're doing.
- 30:27Dayna Roselli: They have a focus and a passion for the arts district and making sure that they bring good quality, like they put quality things in to fill the spaces that are there to make that whole restaurant and shopping row into a d actual, you know, more of a district.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: Right.
- 30:43Sean McAllister: The breweries are all down there.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: But and I think that it seems like most of the operators down there are focused on value too, giving you a great quality product at a great price.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:55Sean McAllister: So dinner was great, but then we walk outside and go back to the car.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: You drove.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: Thanks for picking me up.
- 31:01Sean McAllister: You're welcome.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: And you had a ticket on your windshield.
- 31:04Sean McAllister: We had that little envelope stuck underneath my windshield wiper, and I thought, well, what the turd.
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: Now we've complained about.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: Well, um, I've never had this parking ticket.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: You've complained about it.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: This is my second parking ticket downtown.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: You have downtown parking.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: So we thought, let's make this another tip.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: Now, this ticket was not too bad.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: 25 bucks.
- 31:27Sean McAllister: 25 bucks.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: It was a Sunday night.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: We were there from about six to nine?
- 31:32Sean McAllister: Uh six to nine, yeah.
- 31:33Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 31:33Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: I don't know why it was only$25.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: Because that other time that you got a ticket, it was like$100.
- 31:39Dayna Roselli: But was that because you didn't feed the meter?
- 31:42Sean McAllister: Well, I didn't feed the meter then and I didn't feed the meter now.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: So I wonder what the difference is.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: Maybe that was a Sunday night.
- 31:48Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 31:49Dayna Roselli: I don't either.
- 31:49Dayna Roselli: But FYI, I kind of always thought weekends were free or weekend evenings and that kind of thing.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: And then you said you glanced at the sign when we got into your car, and we gotta like update that because it actually is up until 10 p.m.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: Yes, 7 a.m.
- 32:06Sean McAllister: to 10 p.m.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: Okay, yeah, is what the sign said.
- 32:09Sean McAllister: And you know what?
- 32:10Sean McAllister: We got there, one of our friends was right outside on the sidewalk arriving the same time.
- 32:15Sean McAllister: We started talking.
- 32:16Sean McAllister: It didn't even enter my mind that I had to go back and put money into the machine.
- 32:22Sean McAllister: So they made so I had a little present waiting for me on the back end.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: 25 bucks.
- 32:26Sean McAllister: 25 bucks.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: It probably would have only cost four if I fed the fed the meter.
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: So Well, we're donating to downtown Las Vegas, I guess.
- 32:36Sean McAllister: Donating to the continued renaissance of downtown Las Vegas.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: But it is a good reminder because sometimes it can get a little confusing.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: Like sometimes when you go downtown and say, I don't know, it is like a a time period that's not so busy.
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: It seems quiet.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: You find your spot, you park, you kind of feel like you don't need to feed a meter.
- 32:58Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: Because you're like, well, they're happy to have me here.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: But then guess what?
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: Surprise, surprise, you still gotta pay.
- 33:07Dayna Roselli: So it can kind of be hard to comprehend sometimes, for you forget, and you do need to feed the meter.
- 33:16Dayna Roselli: So heads up, there's the tip.
- 33:18Dayna Roselli: Pay attention to the sign nearest to your street.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: Because I do feel like area from area, street to street, there are different rules.
- 33:29Sean McAllister: There are 100% there are.
- 33:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you have to pay attention.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: So but we don't like to pay attention.
- 33:35Sean McAllister: I mean, we were just so excited to go to Barbo M and At least it was only 20%.
- 33:41Sean McAllister: Oh, I think I have to have a great meal.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: Was not$100.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: That would have been really upsetting.
- 33:45Sean McAllister: It wasn't.
- 33:45Sean McAllister: It's fine.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: Okay, so we're all good on that.
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: But just a heads up if you do go to downtown Las Vegas, um paid parking on streets, and they have some lots there too that require a certain, you know, like a minimum, like hey, park here for 10 bucks or park here for five.
- 33:59Dayna Roselli: So you'll see those two.
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: So there's a variety of different choices if you need to park downtown.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, we have uh had a very busy weekend and we enjoyed it, but we're tired.
- 34:10Dayna Roselli: So um we hope you enjoyed listening to our rants and our discussions and our interviews.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: And and we'll be back next week.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: I think we're gonna dive a little bit into how to get into some of these pool parties.
- 34:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, because you know, you always wonder like, is it gonna be one of those things where I have to show up and just wait in line and hope that they don't reach capacity before they get to my place in line?
- 34:31Sean McAllister: And how much is it gonna be to get in?
- 34:33Sean McAllister: Am I gonna be have sticker shock when I get up to the front?
- 34:37Sean McAllister: All of that is answered for you next week here on Vegas Revealed.
