- 0:00Speaker 1: Now nine till noon weekday. Smart Simone. Only on.
- 0:09Speaker 2: 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:15Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Give me a call. And now you remember the story
- 0:19Speaker 1: about a week, week and a half ago, Susie Wiles,
- 0:22Speaker 1: White House Chief of Staff, President Trump was going to
- 0:25Speaker 1: fire her. He was unhappy about her daughter or somebody
- 0:28Speaker 1: else was profiteering or something, all these claims. And that's.
- 0:35Speaker 4: It.
- 0:35Speaker 1: This Politico story went everywhere. Everybody was reporting this. Susie
- 0:39Speaker 1: Wiles is out. Politico considers itself a very prestigious, very
- 0:46Speaker 1: highly regarded news Washington, D.C. site that gives you inside
- 0:52Speaker 1: information on Washington, D.C. Politico is just a left-wing, slanted,
- 0:57Speaker 1: biased site. They're the most biased, slanted, everything. So the
- 1:02Speaker 1: story turned out to be totally false. Completely false. The
- 1:07Speaker 1: president has no intention of firing Susie Wiles. He made
- 1:11Speaker 1: that very clear. She'd been with him for years and
- 1:14Speaker 1: years and years. And so Politico just kind of dropped it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: They stopped mentioning it. The president came right out and said,
- 1:24Speaker 1: this is Not going to happen. She will be here
- 1:27Speaker 1: for years. It was pretty definitive. So they don't really
- 1:30Speaker 1: mention the story anymore. White House counsel now looking at
- 1:36Speaker 1: suing Politico. You know, they're very good. That's one thing
- 1:39Speaker 1: Trump has done. It's a very good thing to start doing.
- 1:43Speaker 1: These fake news organizations, these fake news sites that just
- 1:46Speaker 1: print crap, make them pay for it. Maybe it'll slow
- 1:49Speaker 1: them down a little. George Stephanopoulos, they went after him,
- 1:52Speaker 1: sued Politico. ABC had to settle for $ 12 million. 60 Minutes,
- 1:57Speaker 1: the old 60 Minutes, doctored up in a video, doctored
- 1:59Speaker 1: up an interview, all kinds of fake stuff. So the
- 2:03Speaker 1: president went after them. They had to settle for $ 20 million.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Make these people pay for it. So he's giving Politico
- 2:11Speaker 1: a chance to retract it. The White House counsel gave
- 2:14Speaker 1: the outlet 48 hours to apologize to Trump and retract
- 2:18Speaker 1: the story. If they don't, White House counsel said there
- 2:23Speaker 1: will be consequences, which means a massive lawsuit against Politico.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And they may have to pay $ 10 million, $ 15 million.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So let's see. You got 48 hours. Let's see if
- 2:35Speaker 1: they retract it. This will be interesting. Hey, we'll take
- 2:37Speaker 1: some calls.
- 2:38Speaker 4: 800-321-0710.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Give me a call. Look, there's open lines there. Don't
- 2:42Speaker 1: usually have open lines.
- 2:43Speaker 4: 800-321-0710.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Let's go to.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Frank in Phoenix. Frank, how you doing?
- 2:54Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark. Mark, out here in Arizona, Dave Feeley
- 2:58Speaker 2: is running for governor. I don't know if you remember him.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Of course.
- 3:01Speaker 2: He was a field goal kicker for the Jets and
- 3:03Speaker 2: the Giants.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I saw him on Hannity's podcast, and this guy makes
- 3:08Speaker 2: so much common sense. I tell everybody, vote for him.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I said he'd be a great governor. And the guy
- 3:14Speaker 2: he's running against, the guy Shaw, he's terrible. The first
- 3:17Speaker 2: thing he said was, I'm going to fight Trump. that's
- 3:19Speaker 2: not your job. Your job is to work for the
- 3:21Speaker 2: people of Arizona. So I said, that guy's terrible, but Yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 2: I'm pulling for Jay out here. I hope he gets in.
- 3:28Speaker 1: All right, we've got a lot of Arizona listeners. Vote
- 3:29Speaker 1: for Jay. You know, a lot of times people say, well,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I'm a football player. What is a football player?
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that doesn't mean anything.
- 3:35Speaker 1: No, because you look at most of these politicians, they're
- 3:38Speaker 1: all idiots. Mom Donnie never had a job in his life.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Brad Lander has absolutely no skills in real life. None
- 3:43Speaker 1: of them have any qualifications. Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: My son played soccer with him. He says he's a
- 3:48Speaker 2: real nice guy, friendly. He'll talk to you. I said, well,
- 3:50Speaker 2: that's the type of guy I like, you know.
- 3:52Speaker 1: All right. Well, that's not the criteria, but.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I know, I know.
- 3:59Speaker 1: What's the temperature there in Arizona today?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Uh, right now it's 57.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh, Oh, normally it's 157.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 4:06Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 4:07Speaker 2: No, no, that's, that's August and July. That's that time
- 4:11Speaker 2: of year.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Be honest. It's April, May, June, July, August, September.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Uh, at the beginning of April, it starts hitting the
- 4:19Speaker 2: triple digits, you know?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It's terrible.
- 4:22Speaker 1: All right. Thank you, Mark. All right. Thanks for calling.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You got these races all over the country. And again,
- 4:29Speaker 1: The key is turnout. Get out there and vote. But
- 4:33Speaker 1: if you're an ex-football player, hey, Jack Kemp, he was
- 4:37Speaker 1: one of the greatest, smartest guys ever in politics. Ex-football player.
- 4:42Speaker 1: That's a great thing to– it's a great qualification anyway.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It teaches you a lot playing football. Let's go to
- 4:48Speaker 1: Paul in Glendale. Paul, how are you doing? I'm great.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 4:53Speaker 5: I'm going to pull over just to speak to you
- 4:55Speaker 5: because I know you don't like hearing people driving while
- 4:56Speaker 5: they're talking to you.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Well, you can drive.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I think.
- 4:59Speaker 1: It's that speaker in the car.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I want to concentrate on what I have to say.
- 5:02Speaker 1: All right, go ahead.
- 5:04Speaker 2: The festering thought of the fake news, isn't what they're
- 5:08Speaker 2: doing considered espionage on some level?
- 5:11Speaker 1: No, it's considered propaganda. It's considered... You could argue it's
- 5:14Speaker 1: election tampering. You could argue it's fraud.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Let's shoot one of them at the firing squad and
- 5:20Speaker 4: see how many more.
- 5:21Speaker 1: No, no, let's not get crazy. But, yeah, you could
- 5:25Speaker 1: consider it fraud. You could give... best thing is just
- 5:28Speaker 1: sue them, make them pay for this. I just keep
- 5:30Speaker 1: suing them. Trump has already made, I don't know, there
- 5:33Speaker 1: might be a total of 50 million in fake news
- 5:37Speaker 1: organizations like ABC and CBS having to settle this stuff.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Just keep suing them, collect the money. Let's go to
- 5:44Speaker 1: David in Connecticut. David, how you doing?
- 5:48Speaker 4: Good, Mark. That horse carriage thing is such a pile
- 5:51Speaker 4: of horse manure. I mean, it's not hard for those
- 5:54Speaker 4: horses to pull around a cart. It's charming in the park.
- 5:57Speaker 4: These liberals got to ruin everything.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Well, why not send them to Connecticut? They'd look great
- 6:03Speaker 1: in Connecticut. Where are you in Connecticut? Where do you
- 6:06Speaker 1: live in Connecticut?
- 6:06Speaker 4: I'm in New London.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I'm in New London. Too far away.
- 6:09Speaker 4: I want horse carriages trotting around.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Too far away. Too far away. But let's see. Stanford,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you could use some horse carriages. It would look great. Hey, Ridgefield.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Ridgefield's one of the most beautiful towns in Connecticut. New Canaan, beautiful.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Maybe around, yeah, or Mystic.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's far away. Actually, you're right. Mystic gets a lot
- 6:28Speaker 1: of tourists. You got that new Delamar Hotel there. You
- 6:31Speaker 1: got Mystic Pizza. Yeah, you're right. Send them to Mystic.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But then, I don't know, the horses. The horses may go,
- 6:38Speaker 1: where the hell am I? I'm in the middle of Connecticut.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm in Mystic, Connecticut. What happened in New York? They're
- 6:43Speaker 1: used to 59th Street. They're used to the bright lights,
- 6:45Speaker 1: big city. Let's go to Mara in Nevada. Mara, how
- 6:50Speaker 1: you doing?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Good morning. I'm so good. Mark, a recent study said
- 6:55Speaker 3: that if you have a dog, you're going to extend
- 6:58Speaker 3: your life a couple of years.
- 6:59Speaker 1: You could.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I have a better way. Someone called in a couple
- 7:04Speaker 3: of days ago, 93-year-old lady. 98-year-old lawyer called you. I'm 96, 91. Perfect.
- 7:10Speaker 1: That's our target demo.
- 7:13Speaker 3: No, but we've been listening to you for decades. Long
- 7:16Speaker 3: time fan. I say, listen to the Mark Simone show.
- 7:21Speaker 3: We're living proof.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Well, that's true. It will keep you younger. Hey, you're
- 7:26Speaker 1: in Nevada. What time is it there?
- 7:28Speaker 3: Oh, it's something after 6. But, Mark, listen to what
- 7:31Speaker 3: I did. I have introduced four people out here in Pahrump,
- 7:38Speaker 3: and they're listening to your show.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Very good. We like that. Everybody in the audience should
- 7:42Speaker 1: do that.
- 7:42Speaker 3: They're under 70.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Oh, there you go.
- 7:44Speaker 3: So when I die, I will replace myself with four
- 7:47Speaker 3: people under 70. That's good.
- 7:49Speaker 1: We're not looking for children like that, but okay. Anyway,
- 7:54Speaker 1: thanks for doing that. Take care. Everybody do that. Everybody
- 7:56Speaker 1: go get us four new listeners. That way we could
- 7:59Speaker 1: quadruple the size of the audience. Let's go to Dr. Bob,
- 8:02Speaker 1: great surgeon in Long Island. Dr. Bob, how are you doing?
- 8:06Speaker 2: I am good, Mark.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Thanks very much.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I hope you're well.
- 8:09Speaker 5: I'm glad to hear that Trump is using the law
- 8:13Speaker 5: against Americans. the journalism, because that's what needed to be done.
- 8:17Speaker 5: I wish he'd now turn it towards the legal system itself,
- 8:21Speaker 5: the bar associations, the lawyers that really fought against him.
- 8:25Speaker 5: He's got to use the legal system to straighten out
- 8:29Speaker 5: the legal system.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that bar association, especially the New York bar, is
- 8:33Speaker 1: so left-wing, biased, slanted, dirty, just awful. All right, good point, Dr. Bob.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. We got a lot to get to.
- 8:42Speaker 1: We got two more hours to go. Don't forget, I'm
- 8:43Speaker 1: here three hours every day, 9 to noon, 9 a.m.
- 8:47Speaker 1: till noon, three hours every day. Then at noon, you
- 8:50Speaker 1: got Buck and Clay. You got two very smart hosts.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You get a lot of knowledge in those three hours.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Then at 3 o'clock, you got the most listened to
- 9:00Speaker 1: radio show in America, Sean Hannity. You got Jesse Kelly
- 9:04Speaker 1: at 6, the very funny Jimmy Fallon at 9. Actually,
- 9:07Speaker 1: he'll be with us in the next hour. It's all
- 9:09Speaker 1: coming up on 710WOR.
