- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, friends, welcome the Morning Show with Preston Scott.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Great to be with you this morning, and it is Friday.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Great to always have with us. Lee Williams. He is
- 0:12Speaker 1: the gun Writer. You can find his work at his website,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Thegunriter dot substack dot com. Lee's kind enough to carve
- 0:20Speaker 1: out time for us once a month. Hello friend, how
- 0:22Speaker 1: are you?
- 0:23Speaker 2: I'm doing well, sir? How are you?
- 0:25Speaker 1: I'm terrific. The nature of the things that you cover
- 0:29Speaker 1: now is the same, but it's different. I'm curious to
- 0:35Speaker 1: know what your reaction was when Donald Trump made the
- 0:38Speaker 1: decision to slide ATF's management under Cash Bettel, the new
- 0:43Speaker 1: director of the FBI.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you, everybody in the gun and community
- 0:47Speaker 2: went huh okay, it sounds and I pray this is
- 0:53Speaker 2: going to happen. Brother. It sounds like he may whack
- 0:55Speaker 2: it or carve it up. Everybody was worried that he's
- 0:58Speaker 2: going to pick a your cat to be the ATF director,
- 1:03Speaker 2: But then he gave it to Cash. Two. We don't
- 1:07Speaker 2: know right now what exactly ATF is going to look like.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I hope they keep three or four people on fire
- 1:13Speaker 2: and the rest. It is a terrible organization. It should
- 1:17Speaker 2: not exist. If they would have given it to somebody,
- 1:21Speaker 2: you know, with some financial or management background, he would
- 1:26Speaker 2: just want to rebuild it. But Cash has his hands
- 1:28Speaker 2: fall with the DoD so we'll see. I hope, I
- 1:33Speaker 2: pray that he's going to chop it in a little
- 1:35Speaker 2: indie bitty bins.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I found a lot of comfort in Pam Bondi's decision
- 1:41Speaker 1: to fire the General Council, because the General Council for ATF,
- 1:46Speaker 1: who had been there since twenty twenty one, was likely
- 1:50Speaker 1: behind some of the most egregious decisions that ATF has
- 1:56Speaker 1: made in the last four.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Years, without a doubt, without a dot. She was an evil, evil,
- 2:03Speaker 2: evil person who's lucky to make it out of there
- 2:07Speaker 2: without was quite frankly, without facing any criminal charges. Because
- 2:12Speaker 2: that's the way it should be. I mean, my god, man,
- 2:15Speaker 2: look at what that agency has done. Okay, you don't
- 2:20Speaker 2: have to look very far, because well, they targeted you know,
- 2:27Speaker 2: the Mark Manley and his family had grenades thrown at him.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Russell Fincher lost his farm. Oh and you can ask
- 2:35Speaker 2: Brian Melanowski's widow what she thinks of him, because ATF
- 2:39Speaker 2: shot and killed her husband. Brian but you know he's
- 2:42Speaker 2: running an airport, never had any interaction with law enforcement.
- 2:47Speaker 2: ATF is a sick joke, bro, and it needs to
- 2:49Speaker 2: be put down.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Couldn't you argue that Cash Betel might actually be perfect
- 2:55Speaker 1: in this regard? There needs to be an investigation of
- 3:00Speaker 1: the criminal actions that went on inside ATF over the
- 3:04Speaker 1: last several years.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I would say, huge, Yeah, I mean it's like, who
- 3:10Speaker 2: aren't you going to charge? Their malfeasance is legendary. Every
- 3:16Speaker 2: big investigation they've ever tried to do, they screw up,
- 3:20Speaker 2: and you know, occasionally somebody dies, or a whole community
- 3:25Speaker 2: like in Waco, Texas, will die. It's sick.
- 3:28Speaker 1: We've got time left this morning to talk about something
- 3:31Speaker 1: that I know is very important to Lee. It's a
- 3:34Speaker 1: story he's written about multiple times. It's the story of
- 3:39Speaker 1: a sailor serving twenty years in prison for legal semi
- 3:43Speaker 1: automatic collectibles. You can shake your head all you want
- 3:47Speaker 1: and say, come on, that's not happening, But as we've
- 3:50Speaker 1: just sort of documented, that's exactly what's been going on
- 3:53Speaker 1: under the ATF.
- 4:05Speaker 2: He is.
- 4:07Speaker 1: The gun writer. Lee Williams joins us this morning. Lee
- 4:10Speaker 1: tell us the story of Patrick Tate is it a damiak.
- 4:15Speaker 2: A dombiac. Yeah, you're you're pretty close.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Where where does this begin?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Even East six in the Navy, Going for one, he
- 4:26Speaker 2: had been accepted to go and go to Seal School
- 4:31Speaker 2: out in Coronado, California, and he had done some preliminary stuff.
- 4:35Speaker 2: He was going to get promoted to an one. He
- 4:37Speaker 2: had gotten his degree as an enlisted man in the Navy. Now,
- 4:41Speaker 2: for those of you who aren't familiar with special operations,
- 4:43Speaker 2: that's pretty rare. You know, they only have an X
- 4:47Speaker 2: number of officer spots in Seal School and they like
- 4:50Speaker 2: to give him to graduates from college, graduates from Annapolis.
- 4:54Speaker 2: So him getting that was a pretty big deal. Meanwhile,
- 4:58Speaker 2: all all of his adult life he been dealing with
- 5:01Speaker 2: gun parts on several websites. He's been selling legal gun parts.
- 5:07Speaker 2: So of course ATF tries to entrap him. He's got
- 5:11Speaker 2: some ATF snitch who was going after a completely innocent man.
- 5:17Speaker 2: They kick a search warrant at his home. Every single
- 5:20Speaker 2: thing they find is one percent legal. Every single thing
- 5:24Speaker 2: they find in as safe as one hundred percent legal.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So what do they do well? ATF sends in this
- 5:30Speaker 2: dufust named Jeffrey Bodell. He's ATF Firearms enforcement officer. He
- 5:35Speaker 2: takes the the guy has a toy sten gun. Okay,
- 5:39Speaker 2: it doesn't fire around in one chamber around. He puts
- 5:42Speaker 2: a sten action in a sten barrel of a magazine
- 5:46Speaker 2: won't fit, and he gets the thing to go bang once.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Admiak had had five very expensive and extremely collectible, perfectly
- 5:54Speaker 2: legal semi atos that fire from an open bowl. Based
- 5:58Speaker 2: on the MAC ten. All the ATF technician could achieve
- 6:03Speaker 2: was semi automatic fire with these. He classified all five
- 6:06Speaker 2: as machine guns. There were several receivers that have been
- 6:11Speaker 2: cut in half. The guy called them machine guns. Same
- 6:15Speaker 2: parts you can buy online right now. We can go
- 6:17Speaker 2: to the website. You don't even get an FFL or
- 6:20Speaker 2: any paperwork. Bodell had three inert RPGs, rocket propelled grenade launchers.
- 6:26Speaker 2: They had holes drilled in him. They were stripped of
- 6:28Speaker 2: their internal parts. He picked them up at some kind
- 6:30Speaker 2: of fare somewhere. Their ATF expert added parts from real
- 6:35Speaker 2: RPGs until he could fire not a rocket but a
- 6:38Speaker 2: single seventy six two by thirty nine millimeters round. As
- 6:41Speaker 2: a result, they were destructive devices. He went to court
- 6:45Speaker 2: he got sentenced to twenty years. He is serving. He's
- 6:48Speaker 2: on like year number two right now. It's just crazy, brother,
- 6:53Speaker 2: Why is this such a big deal? Because if they're
- 6:56Speaker 2: going to go after and prosecute Adomiak, who was an
- 6:58Speaker 2: innocent e six, say he'd be leading a special warfare
- 7:02Speaker 2: platoon right now, They'll go after anybody. And you know,
- 7:07Speaker 2: I wrote seven stories I think on this because this
- 7:10Speaker 2: is a good guy. I've talked to him several times,
- 7:13Speaker 2: practically every day in prison. He's in New Jersey, and
- 7:17Speaker 2: you know he's a good guy who doesn't belong there.
- 7:20Speaker 2: But the ATF lied at nauseum about him.
- 7:25Speaker 1: This is horrifying.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It is.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So who's to fay? This clearly has to be under
- 7:34Speaker 1: appeal or is it not.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It's under appeal, but you know those can take years. Brother,
- 7:42Speaker 2: President Trump could let him out right now on a part,
- 7:45Speaker 2: pardon him and let him.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Go, and then he needs to file suit against ATF.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Absolutely absolutely every single thing. And I've gone through the
- 7:56Speaker 2: list one hundred times. They took like sixty things from him.
- 8:00Speaker 2: All of them are legal. And if you don't believe
- 8:01Speaker 2: they're legal, let's go to these gun websites and you
- 8:04Speaker 2: can buy them. You can buy them right now. Half
- 8:07Speaker 2: of them. Most of them you don't even need your
- 8:09Speaker 2: driver's license. They're not firearms. It's a gun tit where
- 8:13Speaker 2: the receiver's been chopped in a half. So who was
- 8:16Speaker 2: who turned everything into machine guns and grenade launchers and
- 8:21Speaker 2: destructive devices?
- 8:23Speaker 1: So who was defending Patrick at the very outset of this?
- 8:26Speaker 1: Or did he not have the resources to hire an attorney?
- 8:29Speaker 2: He hired an attorney. The attorney was kind of a joke.
- 8:35Speaker 2: He hired good experts too, but the judge wouldn't The
- 8:38Speaker 2: judge was part of the problem. Wouldn't let the experts testify.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And you know you should read this, Bodell's.
- 8:46Speaker 1: This sounds like a John Grisham novel.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Lee. Oh, it's horrible. It's horrible. That's why I've devoted
- 8:54Speaker 2: seven stories, and I got to tell you they're being read.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I've never seen tracks on my Twitter a million page
- 9:01Speaker 2: views on one tweet. It's just amazing how this kid
- 9:06Speaker 2: is getting known and we need to pass his name around.
- 9:11Speaker 2: This guy, I can't tell you what a good man is.
- 9:15Speaker 2: He was going to lead a seal place two. It's
- 9:18Speaker 2: just mind numbing.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Brother twenty one minutes past the hour. Lee Williams with
- 9:22Speaker 1: me his website, Thegunwriter dot substack dot com. You can
- 9:26Speaker 1: find the articles and the opinions. There's five article fact
- 9:32Speaker 1: based articles and there are a couple of op eds
- 9:35Speaker 1: written by Lee Williams on a young man serving twenty years.
- 9:40Speaker 1: He committed no crime. He had nothing in his possession
- 9:44Speaker 1: that was illegal. And Lee, I think people are right
- 9:47Speaker 1: now sitting there saying this can't happen in America, but
- 9:50Speaker 1: it's happening.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It is. I mean, they rebuilt ATF, rebuilt a toy
- 9:56Speaker 2: gun and three d watt means completely demilitarized RPGs to
- 10:03Speaker 2: make their case against an innocent man. What won't they do?
- 10:08Speaker 2: I mean, look at these people who've been victimized before,
- 10:13Speaker 2: like Mark Manley. Okay, he doesn't know if he's going
- 10:16Speaker 2: to be charged. Same thing there. They didn't find anything
- 10:19Speaker 2: in his helm that was illegal, but he's told, yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 2: you're going to be under investigation. Brian Melanowski, same thing.
- 10:26Speaker 2: What would they have charged him with? Oh, that's right,
- 10:28Speaker 2: they shot him. AHF is completely completely lost control. Whoever
- 10:35Speaker 2: signing their warrants is nuts. It's just like this case here.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I've never seen anything this bad, brother, I mean, I've
- 10:42Speaker 2: covered I've written hundreds of stories on ATF for fifteen years.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I have never seen anything this bad. Where you have
- 10:51Speaker 2: a great guy, I mean, was accepted to seal school, Okay,
- 10:56Speaker 2: was going to be a Navy seal. And the Navy
- 11:00Speaker 2: never bought into the charges either. Now, once he went
- 11:03Speaker 2: to once he went to jail, once the trial was
- 11:06Speaker 2: going on, they could have reduced him that E won,
- 11:09Speaker 2: but no, they paid out. Is they kept him as
- 11:12Speaker 2: an E six because his friends had gone to an
- 11:14Speaker 2: agent said hey, this is what ATF's doing and this
- 11:16Speaker 2: is screwed up. Navy bought into that. He was allowed
- 11:19Speaker 2: to quit his military career with honor. He received an
- 11:25Speaker 2: honorable discharge in prison. ATF is completely bogus on this.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I can't tell you that enough.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Well, you and I talked off air about you know
- 11:37Speaker 1: some people that we know through the show that we're
- 11:39Speaker 1: going to reach out to. But what would you like
- 11:41Speaker 1: people listening to know? And what can they do?
- 11:46Speaker 2: First thing is go to his website, freedomfor Tate dot org.
- 11:50Speaker 2: That's Freedom for Tate as in Patrick Tate adomiak dot org.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Actually it's a dot com too.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Okay, read about it. Read about his story. My stories
- 12:01Speaker 2: are on there, everybody's stories are on there. Read about
- 12:05Speaker 2: him and get up to speed, and then go to
- 12:06Speaker 2: your lawmakers. He needs a presidential pardon, and then it's
- 12:11Speaker 2: time to go after the ATF if there's any ATF
- 12:14Speaker 2: left by them, and I hope there will be, because
- 12:18Speaker 2: somebody needs to go to prison for what they did
- 12:20Speaker 2: to him.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not enough. Look, obviously you accept the pardon,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you accept getting him out of prison immediately, but that's
- 12:31Speaker 1: not good enough. He needs to be restored, He needs
- 12:34Speaker 1: to be made whole. There needs to be restitution paid
- 12:37Speaker 1: to him, and then there needs to be accountability to
- 12:41Speaker 1: the people that made this happen, including the judge that
- 12:44Speaker 1: ran a farce of a trial and would not allow
- 12:46Speaker 1: evidence that is overwhelmingly admissible into the court evidence for
- 12:52Speaker 1: the trial.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You know, And I still think about these young seals
- 12:57Speaker 2: in his seal platoon and how he would have been
- 13:01Speaker 2: a great officer and and these guys would have really
- 13:04Speaker 2: benefited from being in his platoon. Uh, that just hurts
- 13:07Speaker 2: me as a military man. That it's it's sad man.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I mean, he'll never he can get out tomorrow. He
- 13:15Speaker 2: will never be a naval officer, and that's that sucks.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Why couldn't he be?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Well, it's so competitive to get in, uh, especially especially
- 13:28Speaker 2: a special in the unit like that is. He just couldn't.
- 13:32Speaker 1: But but but a wrongful convictionally in this circumstance would
- 13:37Speaker 1: would almost require a Navy reinstatement.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'm all for that. I hope the
- 13:44Speaker 2: Navy would do that. I just don't see it happening.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm more concerned right now. I'm getting him getting his
- 13:49Speaker 2: butt out of prison. Sure, he is serving in a
- 13:52Speaker 2: medium security in New Jersey, and yeah, I mean he's
- 13:57Speaker 2: he's doing tasks every day, trying to focus on his case.
- 14:02Speaker 2: But every time I talk to him, it's on a
- 14:04Speaker 2: payphone and you'll have to run and go to get
- 14:08Speaker 2: his ID checked. And I mean it's just a hassle.
- 14:12Speaker 2: And he, like I said, he did nothing wrong.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Right, Lee. Thank you for what you're doing. Thank you
- 14:18Speaker 1: for all you've written on this and sharing his story
- 14:22Speaker 1: on the program today. And we will use whatever resources
- 14:25Speaker 1: we have available to us to try to help and
- 14:27Speaker 1: advance the cause.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Excellent. I can't thank you enough, brother, That's what we need.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Thank you Sir Lee Williams with us this morning again
- 14:35Speaker 1: the website Thegunwriter dot substack dot com. But I think
- 14:39Speaker 1: Lee would immediately say, go to this website, Freedom for
- 14:42Speaker 1: Tate fo R, Freedom for Tate dot com and you'll
- 14:48Speaker 1: see the entire story there. This Morning Show with Preston
- 14:50Speaker 1: Scott
