- 2:45Mike Stewart, Hey, good morning, Thanks for having me. We talked
- 2:47about political stuff, talk about the storms and the quay. Out your thoughts
- 2:51because the great number of your constituents were we're impacted by these storms on Tuesday.
- 2:54What was the heart of the attack area, if you could say,
- 2:59from Weatherston her standpoint. But I think the blessing is that no fatalities and
- 3:05we can rebuild my district, though in particular Lincoln Logan Boone, southern Kanaga
- 3:10County from if you look at that hole from Montgomery all the way to Saint
- 3:15Albans that curve that horseshoe. We've been hit by so many things over so
- 3:21many years. I represent some of the most amazing citizens in West Virginia.
- 3:25They rebuild every time, and I think we're just blessed. The damage was
- 3:30severe, but the fact that nobody was killed from these storms what a blessing.
- 3:36And the prayers are answered. There will rebuild. But definitely I want
- 3:40folks to reach out to me if there are things we can do at the
- 3:44Senator of things I can do to try to rattle the cages. If you
- 3:46need help, definitely reach out to me. But I think the blessing is
- 3:52that that quick storm that came through here. That sound of the train that
- 3:57people keep here, we talk about it all the time. Yeah, it's
- 3:59frightful, and when you hear a train and there's no train track near you.
- 4:02Yeah. All right, pretty scary stuff. But the blessing is nobody
- 4:06we'll recover from this. Yeah. Indeed, let's talk about the session.
- 4:11How was this pass session in your opinion? Well, I don't think it
- 4:15measured to the level of pass sessions where we were cutting taxes by massive amounts
- 4:20and making huge impact from a tort reform standpoint. But I think we made
- 4:26progress. And I think we'll have a special session that will be called in
- 4:30by the governor at some point to talk about special budget items. But in
- 4:34terms of my two sessions, I definitely think the first was bigger, and
- 4:39I think we had more pressing issues. I mean, it's not often you
- 4:42get a historic tax cut that happened previously. But I think we're headed the
- 4:46right direction. But it's election season and we saw a lot of people playing
- 4:51politics in the under the Golden Dome. And I'm hopeful as we move forward,
- 4:59we're going to focus on some big things, and we've got to focus
- 5:00on tort reform again. We were on the judicial hellhole list for years and
- 5:04years. People heard how bad our civil justice system was. Well, we
- 5:09passed a lot of great laws making the civil justice system better. Where do
- 5:13we appear today? We're forty fifth in the country. We're about to go
- 5:16back on that list again if we don't focus on significant tort reforms to be
- 5:21able to keep up with other states across the country. Mike, I know
- 5:25you were one of the ones that wasn't happy about the governor's vito of the
- 5:27emanization bill. Yeah, but it's one where I think this is the way
- 5:30the game's played. I think it was such a small bill in terms of
- 5:34its impact, maybe would have impacted four hundred students from across West Virginia.
- 5:41And I think it was if you're better sitting at the table and you're looking
- 5:44to the future and who's going to be comprising the seats in the legislature and
- 5:47who's going to be the next governor, I thought it was a really smart
- 5:51position to sign that into a law. Let it become the law of the
- 5:56land. Let's study it for a few years, see what the impact will
- 5:59be. But I think it's it's fair to say that others disagreed with that
- 6:02strategy, But I think we're going to come back next year. I think
- 6:05I've heard it from multiple Senators and delegates and even gubernatorial candidates. They're going
- 6:11to go back and revisit this thing, and it may be a lot bigger
- 6:15than what we had before us this year. And so I'm one of those
- 6:18folks that think you have to look down the road, You've got to look
- 6:21to the future and try to figure out how today's actions are going to impact
- 6:26the future. You can win the battle and lose the war. And this
- 6:30is something that I've talked about very clearly that those who wanted to stop any
- 6:34sort of changes may have won the battle. They may have lost the war,
- 6:39but they're forty five other states that have great flexibility religious freedom, some
- 6:44even have philosophical freedom. That's fifteen states in the country. And so when
- 6:48our kids are playing travel ball and traveling out of state, almost undoubtedly every
- 6:54time they compete, they're competing against kids that are not to the degree vaccinated
- 6:59that we are West Virginia. When those kids travel into West Virginia, the
- 7:01same scenario. So I think we have forty five other states that have done
- 7:05this. The sky is not falling, and I think some of the rhetoric
- 7:11around this bill was much bigger than it needed to be. But we'll see
- 7:15how it plays out in the future. But I think I'm going to be
- 7:16right about this that ultimately at some point those folks who oppose this will come
- 7:20back to me say, boy, I wish I could get that deal back
- 7:23again. Yeah, because I mean, from what I'm being told Senator what
- 7:28it is going to come back next year, and that's a non election year,
- 7:31and it's going to have more teeth to it than what this one did.
- 7:34That's kind of the speculation anyway, And that's why I thought the smart
- 7:39move was to allow this to become law and take a look at the impact
- 7:42since it was so small and not consequential from an impact to West Virginia standpoint.
- 7:49But some other folks felt differently, And I respect that. I have
- 7:54great relationships with folks who who were on the other side, and I have
- 7:58a great relationship with the guy, So I respect that he signed a lot
- 8:01of other bills that were terrific, and so I have great respect for the
- 8:07job that's been done in West Virginia over the past eight twelve years now.
- 8:09The Democrats held a press conference the other day, some of the House Democrats
- 8:13did, and they said that, of course you alluded to a special session
- 8:18and things that they would like to see covered on that special session. Do
- 8:22you have anythings in your wish list that you'd like to see No, I
- 8:26mean the special sessions a call by the governor. I think those things that
- 8:28are a priority to the governor will be on that call. Those things that
- 8:31aren't won't be. And so the Democrats can talk all they want about what
- 8:35their priorities are. But the fact of the matter is, I think they
- 8:39have about nine seats in the House of Delegates out of one hundred. They
- 8:43have three seats in the state Senate. So I appreciate their input and their
- 8:50perspective. But fact of the matter is the governor is going to, through
- 8:54his decision making and his team, make a decision on what should be on
- 8:56the special call, and I respect That's talk about your campaign for Attorney General.
- 9:01How's that going. It's going great. It's an exhausting campaign. So
- 9:05I came out of a few years ago running that seventh district State Senate race
- 9:09in four counties Lincoln Logan Boo in southern Kanaha County, a big mass of
- 9:15square miles. But when you're running a fifty five county campaign, I just
- 9:18spent three days up in the Eastern Panhandle in Martinsburg, Charlestown, harpers Ferry,
- 9:24Shepherdstown, going door to door doing meet and greets pretty phenomenal opportunity.
- 9:30But what you also see as you travel across West Virginia is just how different
- 9:33the economy is in certain places than it is here. The challenge that we
- 9:37have in southern West Virginia are there opposite challenges up in the Eastern Panhandle.
- 9:43Their challenges are infrastructure. We have some of those same challenges, but theirs
- 9:48is just not enough roads. They've got farmland that's turning into commercial development and
- 9:54so they've got zoning issues, and they've got population increase while we're losing population.
- 10:00I think the great part of these campaigns is traveling across West Virginia,
- 10:05understanding the differences that are before the people of West Virginia and being able to
- 10:11understand those things as you stand for election before the people of West Virginia.
- 10:16Why do you want to be the next Attorney General? Senator? So I
- 10:18think it's less important than I want to be. I think it's important that
- 10:22i'd be, and given the background I have being the former United States Attorney
- 10:26somebody who understands how to work so well in the federal courts, understanding the
- 10:31federal challenges that are before us, especially by this administration, when it comes
- 10:35to coal mining, natural gas, when it comes to the Second Amendment,
- 10:39when it comes to our education system, when it comes to those woke directives
- 10:45that are being forced down our throats. I want to be the Attorney General
- 10:48because I've always felt this neat gosh from the time I was a little boy
- 10:52growing up in that holler and that little white house and that tenroof in that
- 10:56holler in Barbara County. I've always felt as I've grown up, this need,
- 11:01this desire to help protect the people of West Virginia. There's nobody better
- 11:05situated, given the work that's been done at the Attorney General's Office, There's
- 11:09nobody better situated in West Virginia than me to pick up the ball and start
- 11:13running in the defense of the people of West Virginia. And that work I
- 11:16did with corruption. Corruption is a significant problem across West Virginia. It's prosecuted
- 11:22far too little. When I prosecuted those two members of the State Supreme Court,
- 11:28it was the first time in the history of West Virginia that a prosecution
- 11:31of Supreme Court justices had ever happened. But I'll bet you this. I'll
- 11:37bet it's not the first time we'd had a corrupt Supreme Court justice prosecuting those
- 11:41types of cases. They're taxing on a family, they're taxing on a career.
- 11:46I still pay a price amongst the good old boys who like to protect
- 11:50themselves in areas of corruption. Those folks worry about a guy like Stuart who's
- 11:56less concerned with them, more concerned with prosecuting care I've said this, I'll
- 12:01say it a million times. There's no such thing as a little bit of
- 12:03public corruption. The people deserve transparency and to understand how their government's being run.
- 12:09I believe that wholeheartedly. I grew up a young guy who believed the
- 12:13Republicans or Democrats neither one really cared about people like me, and so I
- 12:20was determined. And I think I've done this as I've led my career to
- 12:24have a sense of urgency to fight for those folks in a little white house
- 12:28with a white picket fence all across West Virginia that struggle every day to put
- 12:33food on their table, educate their kids, put gas in their car,
- 12:35and put a roof over their heads. I believe that wholeheartedly. It's what's
- 12:39driven me from the time I was a young guy, and I love the
- 12:43idea of just being able to serve, protect, defend, and fight for
- 12:48the people of West Virginia. Before we let you go, I do want
- 12:50to ask you this. It seems like when you have a right yet that
- 12:56you have a race for governor like you do, and you have the four
- 12:58leading candidates, they all participated in a forum last night that was aired locally
- 13:01on television, and you've got the Senate race, and you've got all these
- 13:05other races. Sometimes the other constitutional officeholders, you know, your Attorney General,
- 13:11Secretary of State, auditor ag they kind of get left behind. Are
- 13:16you worried that people of West Virginia, as you were out traveling, maybe
- 13:20don't realize the importance of those of any of those offices. You know,
- 13:22when the people of West Virginia watch the news, the issues they see are
- 13:26the ones that will be impacted most by the Attorney General of the State of
- 13:30West Virginia. I've said this, I mean it's sincerely the most important race
- 13:33on the ballot is Attorney General for the state of West Virginia. It's the
- 13:37only office that can walk into the federal courts and challenge the federal government to
- 13:41be able to drill frack in mind the energy beneath our feet. It's the
- 13:46only office that can roll into the federal courts and retake your Second Amendment rates.
- 13:50That's why I've been endorsed by the West Virginia Coal Association citizens defensively,
- 13:54the largest grassroots Second Amendment organization in West Virginia. That's why I've been indorsed
- 14:00by the Family Policy Council, and on and on and on. The folks
- 14:05out there who understand the stakes at hand, and they are massive, understand
- 14:09why I need to be the next Attorney General. It's not a job or
- 14:13a title that I covet. It's a job I desire to do to protect
- 14:16the people of West Virginia. And my opponent, my Goodness, hasn't practiced
- 14:20law for over eight years, is expected to go into the federal courts and
- 14:24defend the people of West Virginia who voted four times against the Second Amendment.
- 14:30My Goodness, he was the one who was traveling around West Virginia promising as
- 14:33the state auditor to go in and make sure all those COVID dollars were spent
- 14:37correctly. I've got articles right here from the Wheeling Intelligencer, from the Parkersburg
- 14:43News that audit that was done in West Virginia that showed more than one point
- 14:48two billion dollars misspent. It was my opponent who was traveling around West Virginia
- 14:54on a tour with Joe Manchin saying, don't hire consultants. I will handle
- 14:58it for you. It was my opponent that put together a COVID spending committee
- 15:03to try to make sure the dollars were spent well. It wasn't spent well,
- 15:07and we need to dig in and understand who's going to be the next
- 15:11Attorney General at West Virginia. I've been there, done it. Took enough
- 15:15Fennel off the streets that could have killed forty million people, prosecuted corruption at
- 15:20the highest levels, prosecuted the largest medicaid fraud in the history of West Virginia,
- 15:24the largest elder fraud case in the history of West Virginia. I've been
- 15:28there, I've done it. I'm not gonna have to go to YouTube to
- 15:31get a video to find out whether to sit on the left side or the
- 15:35right side of the courtroom. I know how to build big teams. I
- 15:39know how to get investigators around me. That's what West Virginia needs right now,
- 15:43and we can't afford a novice to be the next attorney general. Mike
- 15:48Stewart Canada for Attorney General and state Senator. I appreciate you being here.
- 15:52Thanks a lot work. Can people learn more about your campaign at MAKEWV great
- 15:56again dot com. And I point this out because listen, I'm going to
- 15:58be out. I spent fifteen twenty to one. The good old boys are
- 16:03betting on on my opponent. You know who's backing me. I'm getting two
- 16:07dollars, five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars checks from people all across
- 16:11West Virginia, some who rate it's the best I can do. It's all
- 16:15I've got left after going to the grocery store. Go to my website,
- 16:18help me fund my campaign, help me compete, and if I can get
- 16:22my message out, we'll win this race. And I promise you, if
- 16:25I don't do the job at the end of my first four year term,

- 20:19Hey, good morning, good to be back on. Thanks to thanks
- 20:22for coming on today. First of all, I want to start with this.
- 20:26You know, obviously we had some wicked weather in West Virginia. You'd
- 20:27start off the month of April, some areas of the state getting a lot
- 20:32of snow believed or not, over the next twenty four hours. It's springtime
- 20:36in West Virginia. Any comments from you about the storms and the damage done,
- 20:38sir, absolutely, My thoughts and prayers to all those impacted by the
- 20:42storms. Thank you to those first responders who are always there to get get

- 20:52super careful when you're navigating the roads in the surrounding areas. Caroll Miller's the
- 20:56congressman there. I'm sure her office can help with any specific needs. Let's
- 21:00speaking of Congress before we get to your candidacy for cent, I want to
- 21:03talk about what's going on in Congress. Let's talk about let's talk about some
- 21:07recent activities in Congress. Anything that's on your mind, Just go ahead.
- 21:11Well, we had this spending bill was the main thing we did before we
- 21:15left. We're clinging on to a very small two seat majority here keeps dwindling
- 21:22as people leave, and so, but it is a Republican majority. We
- 21:26do have a divided government, a Democrat president, Republican House of Representatives in
- 21:30the Democrat US Senate, and so we're the one chamber that is trying to
- 21:33push conservative values. But this bill passed with just about every Democrat voting for
- 21:38it, and the Republicans were split. And spending in debt, like the
- 21:41one thing we can all agree on is that we are overspending. We don't
- 21:45have a balanced budget in the federal government. We spend more than we take
- 21:48it every year, and the debt is growing like crazy. This is frankly
- 21:51a national security threat. We now have more interest on the debt every year.
- 21:55Just the interest payments on our thirty four trillion dollar debt is more than
- 21:59we been to fund the military, the United States military. That is a
- 22:03horrible situation. And so you know a lot of times I call in the
- 22:07shows like this, and I'm constituous to say, you know, we can
- 22:08help with some money here and some money there. Well, if we're paying,
- 22:11you know, getting close to a trillion dollars a year on interest on
- 22:15the debt. That's money that should be going to help Americans. It's been
- 22:18totally responsible. So I was proud I did not vote for that spending bill.
- 22:22I was only one the state not to vote for it. But in
- 22:23this case, mostly Republican House members did not vote for it, and we
- 22:27had to stop passing bills that spend too much. And we're going to go
- 22:30back and we're going to be faced with other tough issues and US Conservatives need
- 22:33to be united and ready to fight for this country. So that's that's kind
- 22:37of where we are at the moment. Let's talk about your race for Senate.
- 22:41According to the polls, and it's going to come down to you and
- 22:45Governor Jim, just as it looks like in the primary, the poles still
- 22:48show the governor, sir, with with a pretty big lead. Talk about
- 22:51your efforts to try to overcome that deficit. Yeah, thank you. I
- 22:53think polos are starting to pay attention. I heard the radio ads on your
- 22:57show when I called in the time people begin to focus. Jim Justice is
- 23:03a well known person. He's better known than I am at the moment.
- 23:04But my polls and my interactions show people are in fact looking for an alternative.
- 23:10And we're talking about Republicans here who vote in primaries. That's going to
- 23:14determine this. Obviously, with Joe Manson retiring, this is very likely to
- 23:18be a Republican seat. So the election on May fourteenth is it. And
- 23:22I'm making the case, and I think I'm gaining every day and I'll continue
- 23:26to gain between now and the primary. Making the case. How Jim Justice
- 23:30is basically the same as Joe Manson. I mean, Jim Justice is Joe
- 23:33Mansion two point zero. He was elected as a Democrat in twenty sixteen and
- 23:40attempted the largest tax increase in the history of West Virginia. Part of it,
- 23:42like, in my ten years in Congress, I've never once voted for
- 23:45a tax increase. I have a proven voting record, never raising taxes,
- 23:49voting to cut spending. That is what I believe conservatives want. With mister
- 23:53Justice, it's spending and raising taxes like a Democrat. There's a clear difference
- 23:56there. I was proud to have been endorsed this week by West Virginia Citizens
- 24:02Defense League, the largest pro Secondmendment group in our state. They endorsed me
- 24:07over Jim Justice because I'm the only candidate who has a firm voting record once
- 24:11again of standing up and then fighting for our Second Amendment rights to keep in
- 24:15bare arms. On issue after issue, mister Justice comes down on the liberal
- 24:19side. In fact, he endorsed Joe Biden's American Rescue Act, which was
- 24:23the very first one point nine trillion dollar COVID bailout plan, massive spending.
- 24:27Not one Republican US senator voted for that. I did not vote for that
- 24:30as a member of the House of Representatives. Jim Justice endorse it said we
- 24:34needed the money. He would literally be the most liberal US Senator for a
- 24:37Republican in the whole country. And West Virginia's deserve a conservative US senator.
- 24:41So I'm making that case every day, and it's gaining traction. I think
- 24:45you'll see the polls start to close, and that has a really good shot
- 24:48I overtake him and win this thing. Congressman. Last week, the governor
- 24:52vetoed the vaccination Bill which went through the legislature here, which would have loosened
- 24:56at least some of the requirements for school age kids in West Virginia, primarily
- 25:00charter schools and things of that nature. The Governor used a veto pen on
- 25:04that you were very critical in some social media posts about the governor for doing
- 25:10that. Why is that listening. I believe in your personal freedom to vaccinate
- 25:15or not and take other medicines. We saw this go on the abuses of
- 25:22the federal government during the COVID vaccine time. Joe Biden kicked you out of
- 25:25the military if you wouldn't vaccinate. We had when Republicans took over, we
- 25:29had a reinstate, patriotic Americans back into the military who didn't want a COVID
- 25:33vaccine. And I just don't think it's the government's job to force upon American
- 25:37people what their medical intake is. People have different medical needs. That is
- 25:41a choice in any case. It's a religious issue as well. People have,
- 25:45you know, religious concerns about over medicating. So yeah, I believe
- 25:48in freedom. Obviously. Jim Justice first during COVID was shaming people in West
- 25:53Virginia said you were like a bad American and you were a problem if you
- 25:56wouldn't vaccinate for the COVID. Now to this bill, because I guess he
- 26:00thinks the government he knows better than you do what your health care needs are.
- 26:04That's ridiculous. You pick your doctor. I mean I'm going on in
- 26:07healthcare a little bit more. I proudly voted to repeal Obamacare in twenty seventeen.
- 26:12Trump was president, and we were ready to repeal Obamacare and try to
- 26:15restore free market and freedom in the healthcare. Not a government runs system.
- 26:19Not another step towards socialism, which is what Obamacare and governmental health care is.
- 26:25A step toward socialism in this country. I believe in freedom, not
- 26:27socialism. When I voted to repeal Obamacare and we passed that repeal in the
- 26:30House, mister Justice attacked us, but it was a terrible idea to repeal
- 26:33Obamacare. He supports Obamacare once again, he would be like John McCain,
- 26:37who put his thumbs down and wouldn't repeal Obamacare. He'd be one of the
- 26:40most liberal ones. So this is on. There's a very clear difference here.
- 26:44And even though he's in a race against me, he was still arrogant
- 26:47enough to veto a bill that passed overwhelming the legislature with good Republicans voting for
- 26:52it, simply saying kids who don't even go to school, these are homeschool
- 26:55students, these are virtual school students. And the private schools can make their
- 26:57own policies. These are not these are virtual students. He still want to
- 27:02force his vaccinations upon them. So but in many cases people can't vaccinate for
- 27:06certain things. I ran into a lady over the holidays, a West Virginia
- 27:11student who actually was a cancer survivor. Beautiful young lady had cancer young age,
- 27:15but survived it. And because of her cancer, she couldn't get the
- 27:18COVID vaccine it would conflict with her cancer treatments. They kicked her out of
- 27:21nursing school for a year in West Virginia because she wouldn't vaccinate. So now
- 27:26finally she got back, but she's behind a year. And I you know,
- 27:29as a member of Congress, you know, as you mentioned, I
- 27:30represented the northern half of the state in my tenth year as a Conservative Republican
- 27:34in Congress, and I tour hospitals all the time. My daughter was born
- 27:38at Women's and Children's Hospital right there in Charleston, and there's a nursing shortage
- 27:42everywhere. I mean, we need more nurses, and we kicked this lady
- 27:45out. So it's ridiculous. We need freedom in this country, not more
- 27:49government mandates. Talking again with Congressman Alex Moody, who's a candidate for US
- 27:53Senate. We are less than one month away, I guess now till early
- 27:56voting begins in West Virginia. What's that month look like like for Alex Mooney?
- 28:02You know, I am barnstorming everywhere, and I'll say I juxtaposed this.
- 28:04I mean, I've got I'll be in Wayne County Saturday. I'm actually
- 28:10calling you right now from the northern Panhandle. There's a Brook County Republican candidate
- 28:15forum tonight that I'm attending. You know, there's fifty five counties in the
- 28:18state and almost all of them are having candidate forums. So I'm barnstorming there.
- 28:22If I can't make it, I have another family member, my wife
- 28:25or staff covering, so it door knocking in between. I am out and
- 28:30about every day meeting folks and it's going great. I mean, it's it's
- 28:33rare. I find someone once they meet me and we actually have a conversation.
- 28:37Hopefully people listening to the show, we'll see. Okay, I have
- 28:40a clear choice. This guy's you know, Alex Moon's conservative. The other
- 28:42guy is more of a liberal Republican, and make that choice. But I'm
- 28:47I'm everywhere, and you know that's a that's the way it's going to be
- 28:51until the May fourteenth. Where can people learn more about your campaign, Sir?
- 28:55I mean as far as online or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 28:56it's simply my last name Mooney and ey Moony four FRWV dot com,
- 29:03Mooney FORWV dot com and all the informations there. Would appreciate anybody wants to
- 29:08learn more about me or volunteer, get involved, and there's plenty of opportunities
- 29:12there. All right, Congressman, it's always a pleasure to have you on
- 29:15the show. Good luck, we'll talk again soon. Thanks a lot,
- 29:18Thank you very much. Yeah, thank you, Congressman Alex Mooney again,
- 29:21candidate for US Senates in the Republican primary, twenty four minutes away from Tima,

- 30:10the Mike Stewart interview, Tech says, so there are people who, after
- 30:12buying groceries, are spending their last dollar on Mike Stewart get elected for attorney
- 30:18General. What a load of crap, says the Texter. Going to Alex
- 30:22Mooney, Tex says, why does Alex think West Virginia's for Life endorse Jim
- 30:26Justice instead of Alex Mooney? Going back to Mike Stewart, Tex said,
- 30:30would not vote for this guy at all? To be in favor of bringing
- 30:33black eradicated diseases as totally stupid. Tex says, Mike Stewart is a typical
- 30:41Republican who can't see beyond the present. These illnesses have been stopped by vaccines.
- 30:45They will come back, whether it's three, five, ten years from
- 30:48now. Relaxing vaccine mandates creates the environment for these illnesses to reappear. Don't
- 30:53vote for Stuart, You and your children's safety is on the line. Tex
- 30:57says, we have a corrupt Supreme Court justices in the state and the federal
- 31:02government. I'd like to hear Stuart say Clarence Thomas is corrupt and needs replaced.
- 31:08Texas Dave Mike Stewart sounds like he reads his campaign stick for the back
- 31:11of a John Cougar Mellencamp album Little Houses Picket Fence, Except this isn't Mayberry,
- 31:17according to a Texter, Texas Dave Mooney talks about the budget bill but
- 31:21supports Trump, who ran up the deficit ten trillion dollars in the state of
- 31:26West Virginia got nothing, rich got fifteen percent tax break. Biden is bringing
- 31:30jobs to the state. Tex says Westernrginian voters to deserve West Virginia as a
- 31:37senator, not a Marilynd Mooney, the carpetbacker. Again, He's another part
- 31:41of the problem in the past decade, more talk than action. Tex says,
- 31:48Obviously, the congressman is unable to comprehend the concept of vaccinations to protect
- 31:52the public health, Let's bring back polio, says a texture. Texture says
- 31:59Mike is either dumber disingenuous. The state auditor has authority over local governments like
- 32:04counties and cities. The legislative auditor has authority over state agencies and their COVID
- 32:07dollars. You think a lawyer, senator and legislature would know the difference.
- 32:12So he's obviously lying to your listeners, says a Texture Texas day for Mooney,
- 32:19Chuck Schumer, King Jeffreys, Press secretary of KJP, keep blaming the
- 32:22House GOP for the border invasion bill because they won't pass Biden's immigration bill.
- 32:27Would someone please get in front of the cameras and read to the public the
- 32:30exact reason why we don't want that bill and it's not a border bill.
- 32:35The GOP has got to be more aggressive publicly with fighting these Marxist policies.
- 32:42Says a texture, and finally Dave says a textra Alex Mooney was too conservative
- 32:45on the vaccine mandate. You need to use common sense with being conservative.
- 32:50Also, is there going to be a debate with Jim Justice. I don't
- 32:52know whether there'll be a debate or not. I will see if I can
- 32:57find out. I do know, But on his way out the door this
- 33:00morning that Senator Stewart told me that there is a debate schedule between he and
- 33:04JB. Mccusky, who is one of the candidates running for state auditor.
- 33:08And I think if I'm correct on this, and somebody can correct me if
- 33:12I'm wrong, I do think that that debate is coming up Monday night at
- 33:16West Virginia State. I think it's what Mike Stewart said. If that's not
- 33:19the case, I will correct them. But I think that's coming up Monday

- 37:35better fund military operations to recover our missing veterans, and it starts with awareness
- 37:39like this event. Appreciate that. Let me bring in now the mayor of
- 37:45Dunbar, Scott Elliott, Mayor. Good morning, How are you morning,
- 37:46sir? Just great, just great, considering right, everything that's gone on,
- 37:51talk about I mentioned this earlier. It seems like it's been months or
- 37:53years, but it was actually less than forty eight hours ago when these storms
- 37:58rolled through the area at least tier in downtown Charleston where I was at that
- 38:01time. Many, I mean, we knew wicked weather was coming, but
- 38:06I don't know that anybody thought it was going to be that bad at your
- 38:08town. City of Dunbar really really got hit hard, Yes, sir.
- 38:13The first thing, we were getting ready for a meeting at eleven AM,
- 38:15and the sirens went off. I looked out the window, saw the sheet
- 38:20of rain going sideways, and the next thing I know is the police chief
- 38:24is getting dispatched to sign on the ground with the car on top of a
- 38:30car on Route twenty five blocking the entire road. Tractor trailer truck blew over
- 38:35on the interstate, so coming into Dunbar through town on the interstate or Route
- 38:40twenty five was blocked and we had a hard time with all the trees down
- 38:45and everything else. And you said you were out yourself along with your crewis
- 38:47but you were out there with them late Tuesday night, and really we're not
- 38:52where we need to be yet. The cleanup is continued and will be for
- 38:54some time. Right now I got home, I believe it was right around
- 38:59ten o'clock that night. We had to have the guys quit working on the
- 39:02sign trying to get it out of the road. It was just getting too
- 39:06dark with no power in town till last night about nine o'clock, so we'd
- 39:10stop and then they'd go back in at daylight. And they've been working from
- 39:14daylight to dark. They should be done probably today and get wropped twenty five
- 39:17both back open today. Hey, where are we now on the other clean
- 39:21up? I mean, as I said, we're talking about weeks, months,
- 39:22maybe longer. But where are we now. We've got all the main
- 39:28roads clear, we have a little bit of inside of neighborhoods that we've got
- 39:32to go clean up. Our chipper is running from daylight to dark and cutting
- 39:37up the trees as fast as we can get them out of there. And
- 39:40our residents need to understand that if it's on private property, they've got to
- 39:45cut it up, but if they get it to the edge of the property,
- 39:46we'll come in there and get it all as quick as we quickly as
- 39:50we can. Very important point, Mayor, because you can't go on people's
- 39:53private property. What if someone is in a position where maybe they're an elderly
- 39:58person or or they can't cut it up themselves. Do you know of services
- 40:01out there? I mean, I know, I'm sure they're businesses that will
- 40:02coming to do it, But I mean you know of people that are willing
- 40:06to come onto private property any you know, good old boy with a chainsaw
- 40:12type. And we've had some residents come out and helped like that. Way.
- 40:16A lady had her driveway blocked and one of the local residents went up
- 40:21and cut it and brought it down to the bottom of the hill. I've
- 40:23sent city crews out to get it as close, you know, as we
- 40:29can legally, and then after hours, if the guys wanted to go,
- 40:32some of them has went out with their own equipment and went out and helped
- 40:37get some areas clear. That's what West Virginia does. Yes, and the
- 40:42resiliency we can get back into it, and we're getting back now that we
- 40:45have power. It'll be a whole lot better. Yeah. Absolutely. Mayor
- 40:49Scott Elliot of Dunbar's here phone calls of the show our service of big Ley
- 40:52Pickley Wiggly texting services provided by Fruit Pharmacy, your hometown Family Pharmacy. And
- 40:57that iconic photo, And I mentioned to you off the air that that was
- 41:00the lead story on Tuesday evening on one of the network newscasts, was that
- 41:05photo from Dunbar where that giant billboard had had fallen and crushed the car there
- 41:10near the tutors. Yeah, the owner had just got off of a smoke
- 41:15break and had walked in the door because the storm was coming, and he
- 41:20he said he turned around once the door got shut on the restaurant. He
- 41:22looked and the sign was on top of his car. Okay, so it
- 41:27was the it was the owner of the car. You're saying, yes,
- 41:30the owner was an employee of Tutors. Or he was an employee of Tutors.
- 41:32And like I said, it goes from the It missed the Tutor's sign,
- 41:37big huge billboard and it missed the Tutor sign. But it was touching
- 41:42the guardrail on Route twenty five on the other side, clear across the road.
- 41:45So we've had from sixteenth Street to twelfth Street closed since eleven am on
- 41:52Tuesday. Right, Well, the cleanup will continue for a while. And
- 41:58again West Virginia is very resilient people, and hats off to those that with
- 42:02your with your city and other cities in the area. But also, as
- 42:06I said, the good old boys with the chainsaws are out there because we
- 42:08couldn't do it without them as well. Right, let's talk about something a
- 42:13little more pleasant this weekend. We're going to try to put this behind us,
- 42:16because it's time for the Cretter dinner. Talking about the critter. How
- 42:19many years this thing been going on, Man, it's going on at least
- 42:22fifty years. I'm not quite sure, because of COVID, we lost a
- 42:24few years there, but the former mayor, Mayor Leone started it over fifty
- 42:31years ago and we've been carrying on the tradition since. Talk about what goes
- 42:37on to credit dinner. I went to my first one a couple of years
- 42:38ago, so it's something to behold. But talk about what goes on to
- 42:43critter dinner. Well, tonight, as soon as we all get off work,
- 42:45we'll be in there and we'll be cutting This is at the community at
- 42:50Direct Center. Yeah, okay, they're at twenty seventh and wrote twenty five.
- 42:55We'll be cutting up and starting to prep all the food tonight. We
- 43:00have frog legs, we have a bunch of different sausages, venison sausage.
- 43:05We're gonna have pork butt barbecue that I'm personally gonna be cooking this. I've
- 43:07heard that you make some pretty mean pork pork but sir, I like to
- 43:14say that I've almost got it to perfection. Not quite, but okay,
- 43:17well, look, you know my producer Jeff and I if you need,
- 43:20if you need this to come and help you know, to get you to
- 43:22perfection, We're here for you. That sounds great to me, come on
- 43:25down. We we're going to be busy though for the next three days.
- 43:30We start serving at noon. It's five cans of food or a dont a
- 43:36monetary donation. All the food goes to our local food banks so more people
- 43:39can benefit off of it, and you get to sample a little bit of
- 43:44everything. You mentioned the frog legs. What's some of the more exotic things
- 43:46that we have. We have some alligator alligator Jeff, you on this alligator,
- 43:51Okay, go ahead, And we're going to have venison sausage and some
- 43:58of course the pork butt. Just so many different things I think that they
- 44:04have. We're making meat balls out of a bunch of different antelope, some
- 44:08bison, you know, and of course there's going to be green beans and
- 44:13mash potatoes that as. Yeah, a little bit of everything. We were
- 44:17going to do some turkey, but they're frozen and that we couldn't get them
- 44:22thawed out in enough time. Somebody asked me, I was talking about this
- 44:24with some one of my coworkers upstairs, and I think she was a little
- 44:28bit kind of taken it back by the whole thing. This whole thing is
- 44:30one hundred percent safe. You folks know, what you're doing. This is
- 44:34not somebody that you know, hit a rabbit on the way in and said
- 44:37well, let's cook it. I mean, you guys know what you're doing.
- 44:39Back in the day, the everybody went out and hunted, and this
- 44:45former mayor had turned around and you had to get rid of your meat by
- 44:49the February twenty eighth. So the law has changed. The law also changed
- 44:52that we cannot serve food that's been hunted or killed on the side of the
- 44:58road. So we have to order everything and bring it in and pay for
- 45:01it and then cook it up. And we're going to be, like I
- 45:05said, for the next forty eight hours plus, cooking machines, cooking machines.
- 45:09It starts at what time on Saturday, noon? At noon o'clock?
- 45:14You said, on noon and i's at noon o'clock. What a combination we
- 45:16are. So it starts at noon at the rec center in Dunbar. And
- 45:20the admission price again just a monetary donation. Some cans of food. How
- 45:23many cans again are five? Can't but that's not the that's not the maximum,
- 45:29that's the minimum. So you can bring in like a box of food
- 45:30because it all goes to your food banks there in the area. So it's
- 45:32gonna be a good time. Mayor. Good luck with the cleanup and good
- 45:36luck with everything this week. It's always your pleasure to having the show man.
- 45:37We'll talk again soon, Thank you, Sir Dunbar Mayor Scott Ellie at
- 45:40the Critter Dinner. Jeff is coming up this Saturday at noon in Dunbar.

- 50:13Amanda Baron hosted it, and it was basically a series of interviews with the
- 50:19four leading Republican candidates for governor Capital Warner, Miller, and Morrissey. Really
- 50:23not a whole lot new covered here. Much of what they have said has
- 50:29been has been on this show in the past and will continue. They'll continue
- 50:31to say the same things out on the campaign trail. It's basically, you
- 50:36know, continuing to work with Trump and you know, all the kind of
- 50:38the same thing that they all see. But great job, I will say
- 50:43by Mark Curtis and a Baron and folks over at thirteen on that forum.
- 50:47And I kind of I thought it was going to be, I guess I'm
- 50:51misunderstood. I thought it's going to be a little bit more of a forum,
- 50:53like a debate, but it turned out not to be that at all.
- 50:57It was just basically, and I'm not taking away from did a great

- 51:49The review of the facility first began in November. The Postal Service saw the
