- 5:28Speaker 10: mother of two, grandmother of one. I am a Arthur Well.
- 5:37Speaker 10: I like to say authoris. I'm a podcast host. My

- 5:59Speaker 5: I am.
- 6:00Speaker 10: I try to be a a spokesperson for spina bifida
- 6:09Speaker 10: and hydrocephalus, which both I was born with.
- 6:12Speaker 5: And so you know, I'm I'm just out here.
- 6:17Speaker 2: She's out here making it do what it do. And
- 6:20Speaker 2: notice she said that she is a spokesperson, so which
- 6:23Speaker 2: means it does not slow her down it she hay,
- 6:27Speaker 2: Oh okay, cool, I don't feel a little good. All right, cool,
- 6:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna cople on making it do what to do
- 6:32Speaker 2: with the little Michael Jackson hat, y'all, I am loving
- 6:35Speaker 2: the hat. You know, she didn't talk. That's what I'm
- 6:41Speaker 2: talking about. Now, what made you want to step in
- 6:47Speaker 2: the world of becoming an author?
- 6:51Speaker 10: Okay, So just to share my story a little bit.
- 6:56Speaker 10: I was born to a teenage mom.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Mama.
- 7:00Speaker 10: Mom had already had my brother. She was born with
- 7:03Speaker 10: the disability as well. They told her that my chance
- 7:07Speaker 10: of survival, being that I was born with spina vipadeen hydrocephalus,
- 7:11Speaker 10: was very slim. She put me up for adoption closed adoption,
- 7:18Speaker 10: and I was adopted at eighteen months old. My name
- 7:22Speaker 10: was changed and life began for me there. Growing up.
- 7:31Speaker 10: School was hard, h having family was hard. Because I'm adopted.
- 7:36Speaker 10: I look like nobody. The only person that looks like
- 7:39Speaker 10: me in this lifetime at this moment is my son
- 7:42Speaker 10: and my grandbaby.
- 7:45Speaker 5: And of course, you know, I was a kid when
- 7:48Speaker 5: I had my son.
- 7:48Speaker 10: I was sixteen when I had him, and so all
- 7:52Speaker 10: my life I had nobody that looked like me until
- 7:56Speaker 10: I had him, and so I started asking quest questions
- 8:00Speaker 10: and nothing was admitted to me until my son started
- 8:04Speaker 10: having seizures and we didn't know where they came from.
- 8:07Speaker 10: So my mom then told me, you know, you're adopted.
- 8:10Speaker 5: And it went from there.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so that what is that? What brought you
- 8:21Speaker 2: to this journey of wanting to become an author is
- 8:23Speaker 2: to tell everybody your story?
- 8:25Speaker 10: Or it wasn't so much that I really wanted to
- 8:28Speaker 10: be an author. I just felt like I had a testimony.
- 8:34Speaker 5: I survived a lot.
- 8:39Speaker 10: Everything that was designed to take me out, God kept
- 8:43Speaker 10: me and I'm still here. And I felt like somebody
- 8:47Speaker 10: needed to see what that looks like in the event
- 8:51Speaker 10: that somebody else, you know, could be going through the
- 8:55Speaker 10: same thing, Like so you know, I'm I'm walking.
- 9:01Speaker 5: So they can run.
- 9:02Speaker 2: So oh wow, I have not heard that in so long,
- 9:08Speaker 2: that I'm walking so they can run. That's a lot
- 9:13Speaker 2: in that statement. That is a lot. So how would
- 9:20Speaker 2: you say that your journey of life in your book?
- 9:28Speaker 2: How do they Is it a peaceful journey of them
- 9:33Speaker 2: walking hand in hand or was it like one of
- 9:35Speaker 2: those fighting tooth and nails system make this journey happen?
- 9:39Speaker 2: Or in other words, how hard or how easy was
- 9:42Speaker 2: it for you to write your book?
- 9:44Speaker 10: It was not easy. I found my biological family in
- 9:48Speaker 10: twenty ten. My biological mother passed away three years and
- 9:55Speaker 10: eleven months later. So from twenty four teen to twenty eighteen,
- 10:02Speaker 10: I was playing around with writing this book, and one
- 10:06Speaker 10: day I just said, I'm going to do it because
- 10:08Speaker 10: if I don't, it won't get done. Because remember I
- 10:12Speaker 10: said that I'm doing this for somebody else, not so
- 10:15Speaker 10: much for me. Because anything that I wanted to say,
- 10:19Speaker 10: I had an opportunity to say it, but I let
- 10:23Speaker 10: the opportunity pass me by. So I wrote it in
- 10:25Speaker 10: a book and bittersweet, I talk about everything. I talk
- 10:32Speaker 10: about being adopted, I talk about being bullied in school
- 10:36Speaker 10: because of a disability. I talk about being a teenage mom.
- 10:44Speaker 10: I talk about getting married and going through domestic violence
- 10:52Speaker 10: and like, you know, real life stuff, just you know,
- 10:58Speaker 10: and I'm aware that I'm not the only person that
- 11:00Speaker 10: has happened to but not everybody's able to talk about it.
- 11:04Speaker 10: And I wanted to lay the foundation for them to
- 11:09Speaker 10: know that it's okay to talk about it.
- 11:11Speaker 5: There's something on the other.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Side of it.
- 11:15Speaker 5: You just got to go through it to get through it.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And that is great because a lot of people would
- 11:20Speaker 2: feel that life. A lot of people start to feel
- 11:25Speaker 2: like they're the only one that's going through what they
- 11:27Speaker 2: go through in life. And I also Not one person's
- 11:34Speaker 2: path is the same, but we all go through very
- 11:38Speaker 2: similar situations. And it's great if you can find somebody
- 11:43Speaker 2: who has been down the rules you have been to
- 11:46Speaker 2: take advice from them and be like, oh, so that's
- 11:49Speaker 2: what you did. It might not be the advice that
- 11:51Speaker 2: you need, but it might be something that can give
- 11:55Speaker 2: you a little, a little push. You could fight it.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Mm hm. Tori mm hmm. If you could sum Tory
- 12:06Speaker 2: up in one word, what would it be?
- 12:15Speaker 5: Brave?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Oh?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Okay? Why break?
- 12:23Speaker 5: Okay?
- 12:24Speaker 10: So Torri is the name that I was given at birth.
- 12:30Speaker 10: She is who I believe steps out on faith. She
- 12:38Speaker 10: she's the fighter. She she digs deep to find solutions,
- 12:44Speaker 10: whereas Latanya it's timid, a little shallow at times. And uh,
- 12:56Speaker 10: Latania sits on things that should be discussed in Sometimes
- 13:01Speaker 10: I don't know how to articulate certain things in a
- 13:04Speaker 10: way that it would make sense. So you know there's
- 13:09Speaker 10: a difference between.
- 13:13Speaker 2: The two. Okay, okay. So you say your disability and
- 13:19Speaker 2: I can tell you I see it sometimes as your
- 13:22Speaker 2: part sister, we talked. I see that sometimes it stopped you,
- 13:26Speaker 2: and I can see sometimes it push you. You put
- 13:30Speaker 2: it's not final failure is not Failure is not fatal.
- 13:35Speaker 2: It is the courage to continue that counts.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Tell us a little bit about because you just said,
- 13:44Speaker 2: I mean, you got all kinds of powerful nuggets running
- 13:47Speaker 2: up and down this book. So I don't know why
- 13:50Speaker 2: you kind of sat on this from me, but me
- 13:54Speaker 2: and you talk about that later. Uh So that's the thing,
- 13:59Speaker 2: is not final success, It's not final. Then you about fetal.
- 14:04Speaker 2: It is the courage Acuitanians that counts. Tell us a
- 14:08Speaker 2: little bit about that. How did you come to that?
- 14:12Speaker 5: You got to stand and fight.
- 14:15Speaker 10: You're gonna get knocked down, the ref is gonna count
- 14:20Speaker 10: you out, but you got to get up, grab the rope,
- 14:23Speaker 10: get up. It's not gonna always be sunshine and rainbows.
- 14:29Speaker 10: I always say that God never promised that we wouldn't
- 14:33Speaker 10: go through storms.
- 14:35Speaker 5: He just promised that we wouldn't.
- 14:36Speaker 10: Get with And so I wholeheartedly feel like He keeps
- 14:42Speaker 10: us in times when we feel like we are in
- 14:46Speaker 10: the valley alone. And you know, it says, yay, though
- 14:50Speaker 10: I walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
- 14:53Speaker 10: I will fear no evil. That for me means no
- 14:57Speaker 10: matter what it looks like, I can't scared. I just
- 15:01Speaker 10: gotta go with it and do it, get it done.
- 15:05Speaker 10: The nay sayer is gonna say something. And you know,
- 15:08Speaker 10: the people that are amongst your circle of peers that
- 15:13Speaker 10: want to push you and see you do good, they're
- 15:15Speaker 10: gonna have, you know, their positive nuggets to drop on you.
- 15:19Speaker 5: You just gotta be able to balance them out and
- 15:22Speaker 5: stay in the fight. Stay in the ring.
- 15:25Speaker 2: All right, that's what I'm talking about. You guys. We're
- 15:28Speaker 2: gonna take a little break and we're gonna come back
- 15:30Speaker 2: and we're gonna have some fun. Now we got to
- 15:33Speaker 2: talk about people have to have some fun. So give
- 15:36Speaker 2: us the second. We'll be back. You guys.
- 15:42Speaker 7: Got sixty seconds. Take a mental health minute to learn
- 15:45Speaker 7: about depression disorders. They cause symptoms that affect how you feel,

- 16:12Speaker 7: stimulation therapy. These treatments may also be used in combination
- 16:16Speaker 7: with one another. If you think you might have depression,

- 16:54Speaker 5: Now, so I'm looking.
- 16:57Speaker 10: I'm looking at the comments, and my young man says,
- 17:01Speaker 10: three views, shaking my head. Stop wasting your time and
- 17:04Speaker 10: get a real job cloud chasing for views.
- 17:09Speaker 2: So hold on booboom. See. I was trying to be
- 17:12Speaker 2: life and this is your show, but I'm gonna pop
- 17:15Speaker 2: in here. Bruh, come find me. Okay, we talked about
- 17:18Speaker 2: nineteen years of experience. When you get on my level,
- 17:21Speaker 2: then we can talk. I ain't doing this for you.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I'm doing this for the people out there who you're neglecting.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I'm doing this for the people out there who has
- 17:30Speaker 2: gone through so many things. So when you're ready to
- 17:33Speaker 2: invest in your community and come back, that's when you
- 17:37Speaker 2: can come on my show and talk trash. So until then,
- 17:40Speaker 2: have a nice night, Miss the O G. Percy and
- 17:45Speaker 2: your friend mister Street Clothes Sports LLC. Let me tell
- 17:51Speaker 2: you something, my friend. How about you go and go
- 17:55Speaker 2: in your community, take some of them clothes and go
- 17:58Speaker 2: to the homeless. How about you go to your life
- 18:00Speaker 2: and show them how you can an invest into yourself.
- 18:04Speaker 2: But until you can come on here and actually and
- 18:07Speaker 2: I get I want you. I invite you to come
- 18:10Speaker 2: on my show, show me how much you do for
- 18:12Speaker 2: the community. Don't do that. You do not know me,
- 18:17Speaker 2: and I have no problem back to professional.
- 18:23Speaker 10: Well, all I wanted to say was I don't care
- 18:25Speaker 10: about getting paid because what God gave me is free,
- 18:32Speaker 10: and he gave it to me for free.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He paid the price.
- 18:35Speaker 10: So and so you know, I just saw that and
- 18:39Speaker 10: I was like, that's rude in my my grand baby's voice.
- 18:46Speaker 10: But I say all that to say, you're you're gonna
- 18:52Speaker 10: have people like that, people that don't know, like they
- 18:57Speaker 10: don't they don't know. He probably never picked up a book.
- 19:08Speaker 5: I was reading and reading his rights, but.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I was trying to ignore it. Okay, I was trying to.
- 19:15Speaker 2: But you know what, I've been timid for a long time.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I can't think of my mouth for a long time.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I've been through a lot, and if you only knew
- 19:27Speaker 2: my story, you wouldn't talk. Okay. I love my community.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I am down because of the three viewers that you see,
- 19:39Speaker 2: I am now bringing so much into my community. I
- 19:42Speaker 2: am now knowing so much about my community. I am
- 19:45Speaker 2: now a part of so many things in my community.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I am so excuse me, Lord fucking proud. So don't
- 19:55Speaker 2: do that, because I'm telling you, if you come from me,
- 20:00Speaker 2: it's not gonna be pretty. Because when I come back,
- 20:02Speaker 2: I come to God and just believe it. So let's
- 20:08Speaker 2: go back to having fun. And I got I got
- 20:10Speaker 2: dog on sinnases. You cleaned up my sinus. Hallelujah, praise
- 20:14Speaker 2: your Lord. Now let's have some fun.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Because they did what they were supposed to do.
- 20:19Speaker 2: They were doing what they supposed to do, So you
- 20:23Speaker 2: know the second half of my show, I like to
- 20:24Speaker 2: have some fun right now. Lifetime just called you up.
- 20:30Speaker 2: They said, we want to do a movie on you.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Who's gonna play you?
- 20:36Speaker 5: Virgina?
- 20:38Speaker 4: What everybody wants?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Virgina came to play.
- 20:40Speaker 10: Them well, because before I grew my locks and had
- 20:44Speaker 10: all of this stuff going on health wise, I was
- 20:47Speaker 10: told that I looked like her minus the green eyes.
- 20:50Speaker 10: But yeah, definitely her.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Yeah her, okay.
- 20:57Speaker 2: And so if you had to pick a male to
- 21:01Speaker 2: be that leading man, who would it be?
- 21:05Speaker 10: Michael p George will Smith, whoever is available?
- 21:12Speaker 2: She said, Oh, yeah, you do have this. I should
- 21:16Speaker 2: have been going on fanatic. I totally forgot. Are you
- 21:21Speaker 2: going to see his concert?
- 21:23Speaker 5: I've been to two?
- 21:25Speaker 2: Oh my god, go see these people are concerts. I
- 21:29Speaker 2: just can't what I can't, y'all gotta tell me. I mean,
- 21:37Speaker 2: I've been to I've been to comedy concerts. I went
- 21:41Speaker 2: to gospel concerts when I was younger. But I'm no.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I did go to a concert. It was a southern school,
- 21:49Speaker 2: but them them little ladies.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Jesus.
- 21:53Speaker 5: My first concert was New Addition.
- 21:57Speaker 10: My first concert was New Edition Black Street Eve when
- 22:06Speaker 10: she first stepped on the scene and keep Sweat.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Okay, so what was this? Was this new edition with
- 22:15Speaker 2: Bobby or without Bobby?
- 22:17Speaker 5: It's a new edition without Bobby?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Oh man, I can't.
- 22:20Speaker 5: It was nineteen ninety six.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I can't go see that. I can't go see that, Okay.
- 22:28Speaker 5: And d D picking at me talking about she won
- 22:30Speaker 5: all three. I mean, I really do.
- 22:36Speaker 2: So, I'm sorry. This is just this is kicking me
- 22:44Speaker 2: off guard. So let's just say the soundtrack of your life.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Three artists you would want on the soundtrack of your life?
- 22:55Speaker 10: Ussher, Uhsher, Jasmine Sullivan, Anthony Hamilton, Oh I could do
- 23:06Speaker 10: the last two.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I could do the last two. I can see that.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I can see that. So you just said all three,
- 23:13Speaker 2: all right. One thing that no one who knows you, okay,
- 23:24Speaker 2: That one talent that no one knows you have.
- 23:30Speaker 10: The one talent that no one knows I have. I
- 23:36Speaker 10: think everybody know it, but I do better investigation. In
- 23:40Speaker 10: the FBI, my adoption was closed, and I found my
- 23:44Speaker 10: biological family.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Me, you need to talk because I got something that
- 23:48Speaker 2: I got a stone wall in front of me. You're
- 23:51Speaker 2: gonna have to talk. They told me I couldn't get
- 23:54Speaker 2: the information.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Me. No, no, no, no. Just because they don't provide to
- 23:59Speaker 5: you does not mean you can't get it.
- 24:02Speaker 2: M hum, let me let me find out.
- 24:06Speaker 10: So a lot of stuff even with adoption, even with
- 24:09Speaker 10: closed adoption, certain things remain public for public use, public
- 24:16Speaker 10: knowledge or whatever. So you know, I remember being in
- 24:21Speaker 10: a foster home. I remember my caseworker, and I remember
- 24:28Speaker 10: the weekend visitations I did with my parents to bond
- 24:33Speaker 10: with them before they adopted me.
- 24:36Speaker 2: How did you feel finding your mom like? What was
- 24:41Speaker 2: that feeling like?
- 24:42Speaker 3: Oh?
- 24:43Speaker 5: My god?
- 24:46Speaker 10: If I could compare it to anything, it would probably
- 24:50Speaker 10: be hitting the jackpot. Like looking at her, looking into
- 24:58Speaker 10: her eyes was like.
- 24:59Speaker 5: Looking at myself.
- 25:02Speaker 10: It was like, I know what her heart beat sounds
- 25:07Speaker 10: like because I was inside of her, and from that
- 25:12Speaker 10: moment to the moment she took her last breath, I
- 25:14Speaker 10: knew what her heart sounded like.
- 25:16Speaker 5: And you know.
- 25:19Speaker 10: I if I could do it all over again, I
- 25:23Speaker 10: would have done it sooner and found her before I
- 25:27Speaker 10: found her, so that I could love her longer.
- 25:29Speaker 5: But you know, well, on God's time, so I'll see
- 25:32Speaker 5: her again.
- 25:34Speaker 2: You will, you will, So tell us how they can
- 25:36Speaker 2: be on your show, get your book and contact you.

- 26:09Speaker 10: book that I did, and this titled Dear Deontay.
- 26:13Speaker 5: I did that.
- 26:16Speaker 10: What I did was took some stories when he was little,
- 26:19Speaker 10: he used to write, and so I took stories that
- 26:22Speaker 10: he did and put them in a book, and Trevida
- 26:25Speaker 10: helped me get it published and we added Dante as
- 26:30Speaker 10: an author and we made him an author.

- 27:27Speaker 10: I have to keep it simple so I can remember
- 27:30Speaker 10: it because having hydrocephalists, you tend to people with hydrocephalists
- 27:38Speaker 10: tend to get memory issues quicker than a lot of
- 27:42Speaker 10: other people. And so I have to stay in the
- 27:46Speaker 10: area I'm familiar with, so I don't forget nothing.

- 27:56Speaker 2: of the stuff, girl, I got. I got post notes.
