- 2:04Speaker 6: Dude, can I just say something as we start this show?
- 2:08Speaker 6: I walked into the locker room, NFL locker room, feeling
- 2:11Speaker 6: so confident, knowing in the back of my head, I
- 2:13Speaker 6: even said this to myself, hey, listen, it's week one.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Everyone thinks they have all the answers in week one.
- 2:18Speaker 6: And then week one of NFL hits... And it's like, yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 6: this is why the house always wins. This is why
- 2:25Speaker 6: you never know everything. Because I felt like going into
- 2:28Speaker 6: the season, and the biggest thing that comes to my head,
- 2:30Speaker 6: the Dallas Cowboys. You and I were, this was from,
- 2:35Speaker 6: as a kid you were on them, but this year
- 2:37Speaker 6: I jumped on them. And Sunday night football takes place.
- 2:41Speaker 6: Jackson Dart, I'm thinking to myself, he, you know, a
- 2:43Speaker 6: lot of flash plays, but as far as controlling a game,
- 2:46Speaker 6: I don't know. Hey, offensive line's got a little bit better.
- 2:49Speaker 6: but Scataboo, there's a bunch of different running backs. Can
- 2:52Speaker 6: they get into it? Malik Nabors, is he healthy? And
- 2:54Speaker 6: then the Giants just dismantled the Cowboys defense. When we
- 2:59Speaker 6: really thought to ourselves, dude, we looked ourselves in the
- 3:03Speaker 6: eyes and said, Cowboys defense is gonna be better this year.
- 3:07Speaker 6: And I have to watch in the third quarter, fourth quarter,
- 3:11Speaker 6: Jackson Dart and the Giants run the same offensive play
- 3:15Speaker 6: like four out of five times and march down the field.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Just a quick wheel to the running back, quick wheel
- 3:21Speaker 6: to the running back, pitch out to the running back,
- 3:22Speaker 6: all to the left. And it's like the definition of
- 3:26Speaker 6: insanity is doing the same thing over and over again,
- 3:29Speaker 6: expecting a different result.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Well, we had a different result as a coordinator last night.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We had a different result across the line of scrimmage
- 3:34Speaker 1: with the Dallas Cowboys. I say we, like this isn't
- 3:37Speaker 1: my football team, but this was. This is my team.
- 3:39Speaker 1: This kind of was we, though.
- 3:40Speaker 7: This was us.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 6: We bought into... The NFC East, and we're like, oh,
- 3:46Speaker 6: the Cowboys are going to wear the t-shirts at the
- 3:49Speaker 6: end of the regular season.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 1: That's what we bought into. That obviously can still happen.
- 3:52Speaker 1: But the blown coverage is, I mean, it was disgusting
- 3:55Speaker 1: defense across the board. Dude, so disgusting. Like me and
- 3:58Speaker 1: my former head coach, Bo Pelini, like we don't casually text.
- 4:01Speaker 1: We might check in once a year or when a
- 4:03Speaker 1: birthday comes around, I'd send him a happy Father's Day
- 4:06Speaker 1: text that he didn't respond to. But we don't just
- 4:09Speaker 1: casually text. And he's blowing my phone up about how
- 4:11Speaker 1: bad the defensive– defensive footballers for the Dallas Cowboys. Because
- 4:14Speaker 1: he said he heard me on the radio last week
- 4:16Speaker 1: talk about Dallas. When were you on the radio? I
- 4:19Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe he was catching up and heard us
- 4:21Speaker 1: on Get Up. I have no clue. Of all the
- 4:22Speaker 1: stories you told me about Bo, that checks.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 1: That all checks. I heard you on the radio last week. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 1: But he was losing his mind about the eyes of
- 4:31Speaker 1: the linebackers. All Giants have to do is keep running
- 4:34Speaker 1: sway and misdirection and they're going to kill this team.
- 4:38Speaker 6: It's like you got NFL football players, but then you
- 4:40Speaker 6: run a motion pre-snap. Their brains get men in black wiped.
- 4:45Speaker 6: They have no idea what's coming next.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Basic motions. Yeah. Basic things taking place. Giants look good though. Likely.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Is he a likely? He's a dog. Malik Neighbors is
- 4:54Speaker 1: a dog. Scataboo is picking up where he left off
- 4:56Speaker 1: where he got injured.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Who was the receiver from Notre Dame that they drafted
- 4:59Speaker 6: the rookie?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Malik.
- 5:01Speaker 8: Malachi Fields.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Malachi Fields.
- 5:03Speaker 6: I thought he looked really good. He had a couple
- 5:05Speaker 6: of crossing routes. Looked really nice in that. defensive line
- 5:08Speaker 6: was doing a great job against a Cowboys offensive line.
- 5:11Speaker 6: It's like, yeah, I don't want to take a turn
- 5:14Speaker 6: in negative town other than the fact that we were
- 5:16Speaker 6: so on the Cowboys, but also with the giants, it's like,
- 5:20Speaker 6: I loved what I saw from operation standpoint and seeing
- 5:22Speaker 6: my Harbaugh, his culture, his hard nose, we're going to
- 5:25Speaker 6: run it down your throat. We're going to play disciplined football.
- 5:28Speaker 6: All those things checked out. It's like, Oh, that's a,
- 5:29Speaker 6: it's a John Harbaugh coach football team right there.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I will say, I think before I, Maybe you were
- 5:35Speaker 1: also just on the Cowboys as well. Maybe you were
- 5:38Speaker 1: on the fence. But before I was like infecting your
- 5:40Speaker 1: brain with some of the stuff, I feel like you
- 5:42Speaker 1: were excited about the Giants. Like you were pretty high on, right?
- 5:46Speaker 1: Was I wrong about that? Like you felt good about
- 5:47Speaker 1: the hire. I'm only excited about the Creighton Caucasians.
- 5:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I liked it. I think they're going to be culturally...
- 5:52Speaker 6: a great football team that was gonna win those close games.
- 5:56Speaker 6: I was kind of on like, we started the Futures
- 5:58Speaker 6: and I was like, I'm huge on Dak Prescott this year.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I'm massive on the defensive layer. And you were big
- 6:01Speaker 1: on Caleb Downs, which he's gonna be a stud.
- 6:03Speaker 6: Yeah, he's gonna be a stud. But then Hooker goes down,
- 6:05Speaker 6: they have a bunch of injuries take place.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And it's like, oh shit, the Dallas defense is still
- 6:09Speaker 1: fucking bad. Yeah, they're still bad.
- 6:12Speaker 6: And that's where I get to like, yeah, I love
- 6:15Speaker 6: Jackson Dart, the defense, all of them, they handle themselves well.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Correctly.
- 6:20Speaker 6: They looked like a playoff caliber team. But I can't
- 6:23Speaker 6: help but in my brain be like, it's the Cowboys defense.
- 6:27Speaker 6: How good can they really be?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Early reaction.
- 6:30Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 6:30Speaker 1: This week one. We can react however we want. Kevin's
- 6:33Speaker 1: Extra Foods, clean take. Giants division to lose. Wow. I
- 6:40Speaker 1: don't hate that at all. Hurt people hurt people, man.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Giants division to lose. Do you disagree with that, Klump? Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I mean, 100%. Yeah. Are you kidding me? I know
- 6:50Speaker 1: you're an Eagles guy.
- 6:51Speaker 4: It's not even being an Eagles guy.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Are you happy with the performance you saw? Like out
- 6:55Speaker 1: of all four NFC East teams, who looked the best?
- 6:58Speaker 9: Hold on.
- 6:59Speaker 6: Before we go to a different, oh yeah. Before we
- 7:01Speaker 6: go to a different game, maybe we do a couple
- 7:03Speaker 6: callbacks and there's a lot of fans that love to
- 7:06Speaker 6: be a part of the show.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That's true.
- 7:08Speaker 6: And I can see us getting this conversation back. We
- 7:10Speaker 6: got to wrap and then we got to get a
- 7:11Speaker 6: callback to interior talk.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Because we had a sicko pod last week. We had
- 7:15Speaker 1: a Hall of Fame podcast. Legitimately a Hall of Fame podcast.
- 7:19Speaker 1: This is Jaker Mayfield says, Luke's mind is unreal. Dude's
- 7:23Speaker 1: like a beautiful mind for football. It's no wonder he's
- 7:26Speaker 1: a Hall of Famer. I mean, you sit with Luke
- 7:30Speaker 1: and Drew Brees and just watch them go back and forth,
- 7:33Speaker 1: complimenting each other and breaking down specific plays that they
- 7:36Speaker 1: can both recall and remember where they were, where the
- 7:39Speaker 1: eyes were going, the salt and pepper, all the things.
- 7:42Speaker 1: It's like you just sit back and you're like, I
- 7:43Speaker 1: hope they just keep telling stories over and over again.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And either of them, like, What are they not good at?
- 7:47Speaker 1: Because Luke Kuechly, his debut, like Drew's been doing it,
- 7:50Speaker 1: but Luke Kuechly crushed his debut on Netflix. Crushed it.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Color commentating a game. We had one comment in here
- 7:56Speaker 1: of somebody, I don't know who he argues with on
- 7:59Speaker 1: a daily basis, but was kind of arguing for Drew
- 8:01Speaker 1: Brees on just being the most underappreciated and underrated journalist.
- 8:04Speaker 1: quarterback of all time but this is from the open
- 8:07Speaker 1: court 72 31 again you want a chance to get
- 8:10Speaker 1: featured on the on the sode just drop comments in
- 8:12Speaker 1: the youtube um or we also do tear talk you
- 8:15Speaker 1: hashtag tear talk we will give you a shot to
- 8:17Speaker 1: be featured on the show but this one Drew Brees
- 8:19Speaker 1: is without a doubt the most underrated quarterback to ever play.
- 8:23Speaker 1: No way in hell there are 10 guys I'm taking
- 8:26Speaker 1: over him. People don't care about the little things, like
- 8:28Speaker 1: how much he truly cared for every teammate, which is
- 8:31Speaker 1: so huge as a quarterback. And his play on the field,
- 8:34Speaker 1: that his size is unbelievable. And I'm reading that comment.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I'm like, I wonder if he just has somebody he
- 8:39Speaker 1: argues with every day that doubts Drew Brees because I'm thinking, yeah,
- 8:41Speaker 1: I feel like it's pretty clear across the board that
- 8:44Speaker 1: people really do appreciate Drew Brees. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:48Speaker 6: I do want to point out that there was no
- 8:50Speaker 6: exclamation points in that. If you're just listening, you read
- 8:53Speaker 6: it like that. Like he was arguing with somebody. But
- 8:55Speaker 6: as a teammate of Drew Brees, can you stamp that?
- 8:57Speaker 6: In clump two, yeah. First ballot Hall of Famer.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that is wild. First ballot.
- 9:04Speaker 6: How can you be underrated if you're a first ballot
- 9:06Speaker 6: Hall of Famer?
- 9:06Speaker 4: I do think though, like what kind of what he's
- 9:08Speaker 4: getting at is Brees doesn't, he never gets put into
- 9:11Speaker 4: the conversation with Brady, Manning, and then obviously now like
- 9:15Speaker 4: the Mahomes of the world. Like it's never.
- 9:18Speaker 4: It's never Mahomes, Manning, Brady, Brees.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Yeah. That's fair.
- 9:23Speaker 4: He's always left out of that.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Maybe he needs that when talking about that tier.
- 9:28Speaker 6: I think that becomes a better argument all of a sudden.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 6: Now it's like, okay, we have something to argue.
- 9:32Speaker 1: About a little bit.
- 9:33Speaker 11: Then I'm with it because I think that's a reach
- 9:35Speaker 11: to put him in that conversation. I think Drew Brees
- 9:37Speaker 11: is unbelievable.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And it's that reaction that has comments like that. No,
- 9:41Speaker 1: I'm with him now. Now I get it. Because then
- 9:43Speaker 1: you bring up Drew Brees and you're like, oh yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 1: he was a stud. He's like, no, no, no, you
- 9:46Speaker 1: ain't respecting him. He appreciated his teammates and team.
- 9:50Speaker 6: You can look at a majority of good football players
- 9:52Speaker 6: and be like, that guy's a stud. And people are like, yeah, yeah,
- 9:54Speaker 6: he's a stud. But you don't call Drew Brees just
- 9:56Speaker 6: a stud. You got to call him a goat. You
- 9:58Speaker 6: got to say Mount Rushmore.
- 9:59Speaker 1: He's underappreciated. I'm with that guy. You know what?
- 10:04Speaker 6: He made the walkthrough two-minute drill in pregame cool. He
- 10:08Speaker 6: was all about every single mental snap. But as a teammate,
- 10:12Speaker 6: did you feel like he cared about you for those
- 10:13Speaker 6: 14 days?
- 10:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. We were in the hot tub and cold
- 10:16Speaker 1: tub a couple times, and I was like, oh, he
- 10:17Speaker 1: sees me. He sees me. He sees me. He spoke
- 10:21Speaker 1: to you. He didn't feel like he was up here
- 10:22Speaker 1: and you were down here.
- 10:23Speaker 4: No, no.
- 10:23Speaker 1: He treated you like an equal.
- 10:25Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 1: We're talking about how much, why am I drawing a blank? Greatest,
- 10:29Speaker 1: greatest football player of all time.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Taysom Hill.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Taysom Hill. We're sitting there, we're sitting there. He was
- 10:35Speaker 1: talking highly about how much Taysom Hill squatted on the
- 10:39Speaker 1: squat rack. Oh, he's just aware. We're having some good laughs. Like, yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 1: he's a bro's bro, dude. God, that's kind of juicy.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Just mucking it up in the cold tub.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Could you imagine Will Compton, Drew Brees, and Taysom Hill
- 10:49Speaker 6: in a hot tub together? I mean, that's... That is
- 10:53Speaker 6: a lot of creatine in that tub. That's a goaded
- 10:56Speaker 6: blunt rotation right there. You want to sit there with
- 10:58Speaker 6: the boys.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Drew, tell me everything.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Who was Luke in the booth with?
- 11:02Speaker 7: Eagle.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Oh, I and Eagle?
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Dude.
- 11:07Speaker 7: Mogging him.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Mogging him.
- 11:08Speaker 4: I'm like, man, we might got to find a different.
- 11:10Speaker 1: With the stare too, bro. But he was kind of
- 11:13Speaker 1: like leaned back talking to Luke. Dude. That intensity, dude.
- 11:17Speaker 6: I mean, him when he was on the bus the
- 11:18Speaker 6: first time by himself, just him like going back in
- 11:21Speaker 6: time and talking about plays of him being in Tampa too.
- 11:25Speaker 6: And then like, you know, he knew it was going
- 11:27Speaker 6: to break.
- 11:27Speaker 1: So he ran. It was just, it's beautiful. He has
- 11:29Speaker 1: a beautiful mind when it comes to football. This is
- 11:32Speaker 1: a comment that'll have your piss hot.
- 11:34Speaker 7: Alex J.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Mary says, Buston is on the ride. Bustin' is on
- 11:37Speaker 6: a rise that we have, okay, let's try again.
- 11:40Speaker 1: You want me to hit it? No, no, no, I'll
- 11:41Speaker 1: do it. I'm gonna do my best. I don't know
- 11:43Speaker 1: if we are on a rise anymore. Bustin' is on
- 11:45Speaker 1: a rise that we, God, okay, go ahead. I can't
- 11:49Speaker 1: read it, dude. Bustin' is on a rise that we
- 11:51Speaker 1: have all been calling for the last seven years. Yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 1: we are. This is the week, boys.
- 11:55Speaker 7: Lock in.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 11:56Speaker 1: From Alex Mary. Might not be able to read, but
- 11:59Speaker 1: we're on a huge rise. And it says he edited
- 12:01Speaker 1: the comment too. Like maybe he edited it as well
- 12:03Speaker 1: as he could for you to hit it.
- 12:04Speaker 8: Maybe.
- 12:05Speaker 1: For you to read it.
- 12:06Speaker 6: I told you, we didn't talk about this, but like
- 12:07Speaker 6: the night before we did Get Up last week, Taylin
- 12:10Speaker 6: gave me a test on my phone or on her phone.
- 12:12Speaker 6: She's like, hey, go through this test real quick. It
- 12:13Speaker 6: was like an online test. And I went through it
- 12:16Speaker 6: and I gave it back to her. She goes, oh,
- 12:17Speaker 6: you scored 11 out of 15. I was like, for what?
- 12:19Speaker 6: She goes, if you score like six or above, like
- 12:23Speaker 6: you probably have dyslexia.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I was like, oh, what?
- 12:26Speaker 6: She's like, yeah, you need to look into that. And
- 12:28Speaker 6: then all of a sudden we were getting on Get
- 12:30Speaker 6: Up on Thursday.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's like, what? Not even 8 a.m.
- 12:33Speaker 6: And I get a bunch of AI screenshots about how
- 12:35Speaker 6: to handle dyslexia as a person who can't read good.
- 12:37Speaker 1: How to stay positive.
- 12:38Speaker 6: How to stay positive as you go through this trying time.
- 12:41Speaker 4: 11 out of 15 though. High achiever.
- 12:42Speaker 1: High achiever for dyslexia, dude.
- 12:44Speaker 6: I need to go to a doctor and get my
- 12:46Speaker 6: eyes checked and then go to a doctor and see
- 12:47Speaker 6: if I'm good with dyslexia.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So yeah. So you're on the spectrum. I guess so, dude.
- 12:51Speaker 6: That'd be kind of, I've been talking about it for
- 12:52Speaker 6: a while. I kind of want to be.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I want my, what? Superpower. Yeah, I thought that was funny.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I just thought it was a little chuckle. It's a superpower, man.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Gotta have it.
- 13:01Speaker 6: Oh, we had another- Tear talk or call back. And
- 13:03Speaker 6: I'm going to let Will Compton read this one. It's
- 13:06Speaker 6: from Brando0950.
- 13:09Speaker 1: This is a quote he had from Delaney Walker. Don't
- 13:11Speaker 1: just be thinking they're going to be throwing favors. Delaney
- 13:16Speaker 1: is going to kill it with the new pod. Big
- 13:17Speaker 1: congrats to the mule. Shout out Delaney Walker.
- 13:20Speaker 9: It's going to be an interesting week to see what
- 13:24Speaker 9: they talk about.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Titans Uncut. Is that what it's called?
- 13:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:30Speaker 1: His show is called Titans Uncut. We'll see how uncut
- 13:32Speaker 1: it is. Yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 6: We will see how uncut it is. Great transition though, Jack.
- 13:36Speaker 6: You were at Week one, NFL season, sitting on Nissan Stadium.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Last opening home game for the Tennessee Titans in Nissan Stadium.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Tell us what you saw, brother.
- 13:48Speaker 1: 100 degree heat.
- 13:49Speaker 7: 100 degree heat. Hot as hell there.
- 13:51Speaker 9: I got in my seat, I think it was like 11.22,
- 13:54Speaker 9: and I was like, this might have been even too
- 13:56Speaker 9: early to sit here.
- 13:57Speaker 7: It was so hot.
- 13:58Speaker 9: They're handing out some CJ2K memorabilia, a little pin, the
- 14:01Speaker 9: Music City Miracle Towel. So like in your head, you're like,
- 14:05Speaker 9: we just hope we got to perform against the Jets.
- 14:07Speaker 9: And this wasn't a we got outplayed game. This was
- 14:10Speaker 9: a we got bullied for 60 minutes of football and
- 14:13Speaker 9: had one garbage time TD. We paid so much money
- 14:17Speaker 9: this offseason for our defensive line to be something. And
- 14:20Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure Gino Smith in a postgame interview says,
- 14:22Speaker 9: I don't think I was touched one time.

- 15:59Speaker 6: more information, ready, set, Ford. Built.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Ford tough let's get back to the episode.
- 16:06Speaker 9: It is one of the most embarrassing week one performances
- 16:09Speaker 9: for the titans maybe for any nfl team ever and
- 16:13Speaker 9: then when you see the cardinals doing it the giants
- 16:16Speaker 9: are doing it the saints even had a shot and
- 16:19Speaker 9: you've got these quarterbacks that came out or came out
- 16:21Speaker 9: with cam ward and they're performing and there's so much
- 16:26Speaker 9: so much talk about whose fault is it on is
- 16:28Speaker 9: it cam ward is it the new coaching staff is
- 16:31Speaker 9: it just we're regressing even more i don't know But
- 16:35Speaker 9: I will say that the play calling was horrendous. I
- 16:38Speaker 9: think the longest throw Cam had was for 14 yards.
- 16:41Speaker 9: It's just check down screens that are in the dirt.
- 16:44Speaker 4: It's gross.
- 16:45Speaker 7: It's uninspiring.
- 16:47Speaker 9: And if we come in this week at home against
- 16:50Speaker 9: the Eagles and it's the same caliber of football, we
- 16:53Speaker 9: very well could already see the season in before October.
- 16:58Speaker 9: I don't want to be that pessimistic Titans fan. Y'all
- 17:00Speaker 9: know how much I ride for it, but it's like, Dude,
- 17:03Speaker 9: for how hot it was yesterday, I know a lot
- 17:06Speaker 9: of those fans in Nissan were boiling, physically and mentally. So, yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 9: being a Titans fan, yet again, is just a job
- 17:15Speaker 9: at this point.
- 17:16Speaker 7: I don't get to enjoy my Sundays.
- 17:18Speaker 1: It's a job at this point.
- 17:19Speaker 9: I have to just stand by and hopefully they make
- 17:22Speaker 9: the right decisions. Again, new coaching staff, a lot of
- 17:25Speaker 9: new pieces. It's week one, but when you lose to
- 17:28Speaker 9: a Jets team that is debatably worse than you on
- 17:30Speaker 9: paper going into the season... and they just absolutely embarrass
- 17:33Speaker 9: you at home, it's.
- 17:35Speaker 4: A horrible look for the franchise.
- 17:37Speaker 9: And it's like, are we just shaking off dust or
- 17:41Speaker 9: is the team even worse than we were last year?
- 17:43Speaker 9: What do we do with Cam Ward? Is it time
- 17:45Speaker 9: to hit the panic button? People are already screaming for Trubisky.
- 17:48Speaker 9: I was throwing up Ryan Tannehill black and white photos
- 17:51Speaker 9: on Twitter.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Week one.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Week one.
- 17:55Speaker 7: It was brutal. I'm not here jumping ship. You guys
- 17:58Speaker 7: know how I ride.
- 17:59Speaker 9: But we got the Eagles and then we go to
- 18:03Speaker 9: New York. And that's the last place I feel like
- 18:06Speaker 9: you want to play right now in the NFL.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Just to sum up the Titans week one. This video
- 18:13Speaker 6: you posted on Twitter, dude, of you with the headphones
- 18:16Speaker 6: in on a 10 speed and hearing the squeakiness of
- 18:19Speaker 6: the brakes and the chain as you're breaking down how
- 18:22Speaker 6: bad it was.
- 18:22Speaker 7: There's like four people that are like, you got to
- 18:24Speaker 7: get those brakes checked.
- 18:25Speaker 6: Dude, I'm like rocking my baby thing and Jack's in
- 18:28Speaker 6: hell right now.
- 18:29Speaker 7: Oh, in hell.
- 18:29Speaker 1: 100 degree heat, pedaling home.
- 18:32Speaker 7: Girlfriend calls me.
- 18:33Speaker 9: I call her and she goes, hey, everything okay?
- 18:38Speaker 7: And I'm like, it's all good.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Like, you know, whatever.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 9: Yeah, we can't let grown men dictate your mental health
- 18:44Speaker 9: or even younger men. Most of these kids are younger
- 18:47Speaker 9: than me. So I don't know where we go from here. Again,
- 18:50Speaker 9: I feel like I've been saying this for the last
- 18:52Speaker 9: three years.
- 18:53Speaker 4: After week one.
- 18:54Speaker 9: We haven't won a week one game, I think, since
- 18:57Speaker 9: maybe 2019.
- 18:59Speaker 1: It's tough.
- 19:00Speaker 4: It's embarrassing.
- 19:02Speaker 9: But caged animal, Michigan type mentality, even though you guys
- 19:06Speaker 9: won week one.
- 19:08Speaker 7: All I'm saying, the birds better play.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Love a good wounded animal. If we let any of
- 19:12Speaker 1: that college football, you can turn things around, no problem.
- 19:16Speaker 1: To our listeners who don't care at all about what's
- 19:19Speaker 1: going on in Tennessee, if you are a believer, please
- 19:23Speaker 1: have your thoughts and prayers going in Nashville's way because
- 19:26Speaker 1: Tennessee fans should be fuming.
- 19:29Speaker 9: And also, another horrible instance in Titans Twitter, Ballin, who's
- 19:35Speaker 9: a Titans fan. a friend of mine, he posted in August,
- 19:41Speaker 9: if the Jets come to Nashville and beat the Tennessee Titans,
- 19:44Speaker 9: I will walk from New York to Nissan Stadium. He
- 19:47Speaker 9: put that on he put that on social in August
- 19:50Speaker 9: and then if you go to the comments he's also
- 19:52Speaker 9: tweeting back at Jets fans saying well what if y'all
- 19:55Speaker 9: do lose like we'll never lose to the lousy Jets
- 19:57Speaker 9: and then you know you get embarrassed he has since
- 20:00Speaker 9: deactivated his Twitter a lot of people are referencing the
- 20:03Speaker 9: FSU fan who said he would eat dog shit so
- 20:07Speaker 9: I think it's truly up to him.
- 20:10Speaker 7: If we're going to turn the season around and.
- 20:12Speaker 9: And I won't go into the details, but he has
- 20:15Speaker 9: texted me with, he reached out, um, kind of trying
- 20:19Speaker 9: to figure out what he, what he does from here.
- 20:21Speaker 9: And there's truly only one thing you can do. And it's,
- 20:25Speaker 9: buy a good pair of walking shoes, and hit the
- 20:27Speaker 9: dusty trail.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, because you look at what happened with the Florida
- 20:30Speaker 1: State fan last year. Could that have honestly been the
- 20:32Speaker 1: demise of all of Florida State football?
- 20:34Speaker 4: They're still suffering.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah, still suffering.
- 20:36Speaker 7: Two years ago.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Fired their athletic director.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Is there a world, should we possibly call ball in
- 20:40Speaker 6: right now?
- 20:41Speaker 7: We can.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Should we call ball in and get him on the horn?
- 20:45Speaker 7: Uh-oh.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I don't know if he's ready. Clearly, he seems rattled
- 20:49Speaker 1: about what to even do. You're texting Jackie.
- 20:51Speaker 4: He's probably telling Jack, like, hey, don't amplify this anymore.
- 20:55Speaker 4: And like, we, maybe it'll fly under the radar, but
- 20:57Speaker 4: it's like, that's not how you get through this.
- 20:59Speaker 9: Well, he had reached out a former employer of ours.
- 21:03Speaker 9: They reached out to him wanting him to come on
- 21:05Speaker 9: a said live show. And I said, Hey man, just know.
- 21:09Speaker 9: They're going to corner you, and if you do not
- 21:11Speaker 9: make that walk, there's no positive for you to do this.
- 21:14Speaker 9: But I said, but you should. You need to face
- 21:16Speaker 9: the music. I first said you need to reactivate your
- 21:18Speaker 9: Twitter account.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to.
- 21:19Speaker 9: Like, you can't run from this. Like, you put it
- 21:22Speaker 9: out there. You must stand on the premise that you
- 21:25Speaker 9: tweeted we would beat the Jets. It's a brutal look
- 21:29Speaker 9: for him. It's a brutal look for Titans fans, and
- 21:33Speaker 9: it's something that could follow us deep, deep into a hole.
- 21:36Speaker 1: The whole season's hanging in the balance of a couple
- 21:39Speaker 1: thousand miles. I mean, you see Tate, he's at McDonald's
- 21:43Speaker 1: right now.
- 21:43Speaker 7: He's hammering them.
- 21:44Speaker 6: Say what you want about Ohio Tate. That's a man
- 21:46Speaker 6: of honor.
- 21:46Speaker 7: That is a man of honor.
- 21:47Speaker 6: That's a guy who sits there and says, he puts
- 21:49Speaker 6: out a whole thing, right?
- 21:50Speaker 1: Any game they lose, he'll do X, Y, and Z.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Post it and put it on right.
- 21:53Speaker 6: 24 hours at McDonald's. Every Big Mac he eats, he'll
- 21:56Speaker 6: drop an hour. And I was texting with him this morning,
- 21:59Speaker 6: and I think he was three or four Big Macs down,
- 22:00Speaker 6: and it was about 9 a.m.
- 22:03Speaker 7: Accountability.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Yeah. So- This is the walking treadmill. I mean, Ohio Tate, man.
- 22:15Speaker 6: He's holding it down for Ohio State right now. So
- 22:18Speaker 6: we don't want to call ball. We'll just leave it
- 22:20Speaker 6: what it is. He'll see the episode. I'm sure if
- 22:21Speaker 6: he's a Titans fan, he'll want to hear your opinion.
- 22:24Speaker 6: If he went on PMT, then we can't have him
- 22:26Speaker 6: on busing.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Because we already know how that fucking cookie crumbles. That's
- 22:31Speaker 1: us becoming a caged animal again. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 7: So, I don't know.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And- Overall, yeah. Oh, you guys are tucking your tail
- 22:39Speaker 1: to PMT. Okay.
- 22:41Speaker 12: No.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I see what's happening. It's all good. What? No. You
- 22:44Speaker 1: guys are nervous about PMT guys coming at you?
- 22:46Speaker 7: No, I'm just respecting the order. Like in line. You know,
- 22:51Speaker 7: if they had reached out.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Before, I mentioned it. Okay, fair. Right. Fair.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Fair.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Are you feeling aggressive? What's going on here?
- 22:58Speaker 12: No, no, no.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I'm not feeling aggressive. I'm thinking through the process. You
- 23:02Speaker 1: saw the way I was trying to read. Obviously, my
- 23:03Speaker 1: brain's not firing off all cylinders right now.
- 23:05Speaker 4: 11 out of 15.
- 23:06Speaker 9: The only good news about this balling situation is if
- 23:08Speaker 9: we do get embarrassed by the Eagles, we don't have
- 23:10Speaker 9: to blame Cam Ward. We don't have to blame Robert Sala.
- 23:15Speaker 9: We have a clear course of action. But I hope
- 23:18Speaker 9: he's going to do the right thing. And I like balling.
- 23:20Speaker 9: Balling's a good dude.
- 23:21Speaker 6: How many miles is it from Nissan Stadium to MetLife?
- 23:25Speaker 6: How long is that walk?
- 23:26Speaker 1: I don't know. got to be it ain't good ain't
- 23:30Speaker 1: good let's see it ain't good.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Let's see from the bus i want to avoid busy
- 23:39Speaker 4: roads unfortunately there's no.
- 23:42Speaker 13: Route he's good he doesn't have to do it so.
- 23:48Speaker 9: The driving time to leave from the bus to New
- 23:52Speaker 9: York is 12 hours and 48 minutes, and that's driving
- 23:55Speaker 9: on major highways and interstates.
- 23:57Speaker 6: It would take roughly 1.7 to 1.9 million steps to
- 24:02Speaker 6: walk from New York City to Nissan Stadium.
- 24:04Speaker 7: Get your steps in.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Get your steps in. Yeah. Now, if he's by himself solo,
- 24:10Speaker 1: got to cut a couple corners, hit a bus ride.
- 24:13Speaker 1: A couple Ubers. Oh, yeah. Hit a hotel overnight, pretending
- 24:17Speaker 1: you've been walking all night long. Like, you just get
- 24:18Speaker 1: a show of the action of doing it.
- 24:19Speaker 4: But then the curse doesn't lift.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah. That's true. The curse won't lift.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Hasn't lifted in Florida State.
- 24:25Speaker 1: You can't go deactivation mode, though, when you had it
- 24:28Speaker 1: out there in writing.
- 24:28Speaker 7: Gotta face the music.
- 24:30Speaker 9: And this could be a time, too, where he propels
- 24:33Speaker 9: not only his personal brand, but the Titans fandom into
- 24:36Speaker 9: a new stratosphere.
- 24:37Speaker 7: You could be the savior of that.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Jack, I feel like you have to hold him accountable
- 24:43Speaker 1: for it, because you kind of are the face of
- 24:44Speaker 1: the You're one of the faces of the Titans.
- 24:46Speaker 6: There's no kind of Jack McPherson is the face of
- 24:48Speaker 6: the Titans.
- 24:48Speaker 1: You were in a commercial. You were in a commercial.
- 24:50Speaker 13: Hashtag brand partner.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Hashtag brand partner, man.
- 24:53Speaker 7: I mean, I let him know. I said, there's no
- 24:55Speaker 7: other option besides you walking.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 1: There's no positive outcome.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Cinema Tech 2, you understand this, right?
- 25:02Speaker 7: There's no way around it, but yeah. Great week one.
- 25:07Speaker 7: You know, great week one.
- 25:09Speaker 1: You said week two, Eagles. Club, how are we feeling
- 25:11Speaker 1: about your Eagles?
- 25:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Going back. You going to be at the game too?
- 25:15Speaker 4: I will hopefully be at the game. We'll see.
- 25:16Speaker 2: But I'm trying my best to be at the game, yes.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. It'll work out. It'll work out.
- 25:21Speaker 4: He's getting a suite?
- 25:23Speaker 1: No, no. Titans figuring it out against the Eagles seems
- 25:27Speaker 1: like a pretty tall task.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Will is just turning into an Eagles hater.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I literally just said for the Titans to figure it out.
- 25:34Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like they're going to figure it out
- 25:35Speaker 1: against the Eagles.
- 25:35Speaker 4: I'm going back to the Giants thing. He raised his
- 25:37Speaker 4: voice at you. He did raise his voice.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I'll say this, though.
- 25:39Speaker 6: Eagles, smart move, getting under center more. I thought their operation,
- 25:42Speaker 6: they seem like they're– a team that's understanding their strengths
- 25:47Speaker 6: and utilizing it. Getting Saquon going. The Hurts look kind
- 25:51Speaker 6: of nice.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Hurts look kind of nice. Thank you for that. Hurts
- 25:53Speaker 1: look kind of nice for that game. It's week one. Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 1: they won their first game. They won. They did not play.
- 25:58Speaker 1: They looked solid in the first half.
- 25:59Speaker 4: I just think they have a great defense. They're going
- 26:01Speaker 4: to be a good football team.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:03Speaker 11: When you can run the football, which they didn't even
- 26:04Speaker 11: run the ball as well as they could, but they
- 26:06Speaker 11: can run the football and they play good defense. To me,
- 26:10Speaker 11: to me, You can take the Giants. You're backing off
- 26:13Speaker 11: your Cowboys take, which is fine.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I'm not backing off. All I do is ask you
- 26:18Speaker 1: a question. I said, out of the four NFC East teams,
- 26:21Speaker 1: who looked the best in week one? You said you're
- 26:22Speaker 1: backing off. The Eagles. No, the Giants, they looked the best.
- 26:27Speaker 11: Jackson Dart looked nice, but it's all about longevity.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 7: Surviving the year.
- 26:34Speaker 6: Hey, what the fuck happened with the Cardinals and the Chargers?
- 26:38Speaker 6: What happened there?
- 26:39Speaker 1: There's some theories on the internet. We went to camp.
- 26:41Speaker 7: Justin Herbert's new fiance.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 4: What?
- 26:49Speaker 1: We're blaming the wife?
- 26:49Speaker 7: They said that the Chargers looked bad on and off
- 26:52Speaker 7: the field.
- 26:54Speaker 9: Why? Like, you know, new girlfriend distractions. There's videos in
- 26:58Speaker 9: camp of them holding hands, googly-eyed at each other.
- 27:00Speaker 1: They're always going to reach for something. Stroking hair.
- 27:02Speaker 7: I'm not saying that this is the reason.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You're reporting the news.
- 27:04Speaker 7: You're just reporting the news. Just reporting the news.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 27:07Speaker 7: You know, the same way in Nashville, someone has to
- 27:10Speaker 7: be blamed. And it can't be the coaches or players.
- 27:13Speaker 8: No.
- 27:13Speaker 1: No shot. Of course not. It's week one.
- 27:15Speaker 6: And I'm sure Madison Beers is sitting wherever she's sitting
- 27:17Speaker 6: right now and understanding that this comes to the territory
- 27:20Speaker 6: of being engaged to Justin Herbert.
- 27:23Speaker 1: We can fully... Clean take. That's a clean take. That's
- 27:25Speaker 1: a Kevin Sancho Foods clean take. Accountability. Take the blame.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Keep it pushing. That's not a... Is that not?
- 27:31Speaker 7: That is.
- 27:32Speaker 1: That is a Kevin Sancho Foods clean take.
- 27:34Speaker 7: I think it is.
- 27:34Speaker 6: I mean, that's just the news. But the Cardinals 26?
- 27:38Speaker 1: That's a bad beat.
- 27:39Speaker 6: And McDaniels, the brilliant mind that he's supposed to be
- 27:42Speaker 6: on the offensive side of the ball, comes over after
- 27:44Speaker 6: getting fired from Miami? 14 points?
- 27:47Speaker 1: That's a bad beat.
- 27:49Speaker 2: There was a quote too.
- 27:50Speaker 1: He's like, I can finally call.
- 27:51Speaker 11: Plays that I've never been able to call before with
- 27:53Speaker 11: Justin Herbert as my quarterback.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And it didn't look good week one.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Week two, it was never the problem.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, one LeFleur performed well in week one.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:05Speaker 1: The second one did not. The other ones had a
- 28:08Speaker 1: good first couple quarters.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Looked kind of nice. But you knock out the starting
- 28:12Speaker 1: cue for Minnesota and Kyler, which, by the way, that
- 28:15Speaker 1: looked like a brutal hit that Kyler took. But you can't.
- 28:21Speaker 1: He can't beat the Vikings? Carson Wentz? He was trending.
- 28:27Speaker 1: He was trending on X.
- 28:29Speaker 7: Crazy fourth quarter for them.
- 28:31Speaker 6: I mean, school of Kevin O'Connell, man. If you're a
- 28:34Speaker 6: quarterback that's suffering, you need to go to Minnesota. Things
- 28:38Speaker 6: will get figured out for you. Carson Wentz, everyone saw
- 28:41Speaker 6: his career. He's a backup now. And all of a sudden,
- 28:44Speaker 6: he goes in and he starts dishing it. That's a crazy...
- 28:48Speaker 6: That hit, I don't know even who put the hit
- 28:49Speaker 6: from the Packers, but seeing that play, there was ill
- 28:53Speaker 6: intent that took place with that hit.
- 28:56Speaker 1: The video of.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Justin Jefferson too, that one's sad. Did you see it?
- 28:59Speaker 4: No.
- 28:59Speaker 11: There's like an angle of Justin Jefferson holding Kyler's helmet,
- 29:02Speaker 11: kind of just being like all distraught, let his guys down.
- 29:06Speaker 1: It's a bad one. Tough, dude. Tough slide week one.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Minnesota a little spicy.
- 29:12Speaker 6: I thought he was a little spicy to those Bears.
- 29:15Speaker 6: Chicago Bears are looking nice right now.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Outside of the Packers. 59 points.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Unreal.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I mean, Caleb Williams. He might be the guy, dude. Dude,
- 29:24Speaker 1: he might be.
- 29:26Speaker 6: And you see the post game, the whole locker room
- 29:31Speaker 6: is clamoring for Ben Johnson to do his phrasing, the
- 29:34Speaker 6: call recall thing they do. And they're all like, they're
- 29:37Speaker 6: so bought into his culture right now.
- 29:39Speaker 1: They are so bought into it. And Caleb out there
- 29:40Speaker 1: with the stash on the post-game presser being like, I
- 29:43Speaker 1: know we play well, but there's some things that correct offensively.
- 29:46Speaker 1: It's like, buddy, you just put up college numbers.
- 29:48Speaker 6: And this is the stat, the highest scoring NFL Sunday
- 29:51Speaker 6: in modern era since the 1970 merger, 53.3 points per matchup.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Bro, I am so happy. I didn't get to the
- 29:59Speaker 1: Fandula before some of the slate started. So happy. Because
- 30:02Speaker 1: I'm thinking. It's always under. Under. It's going to be
- 30:05Speaker 1: an under weekend. It's always under. And I am so
- 30:07Speaker 1: happy I did not touch that.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Sherb's got something highlighted right here. It says, which was better,
- 30:14Speaker 6: week one of the NFL or week two of college football?
- 30:17Speaker 6: It's a great question. It's a great question to put
- 30:21Speaker 6: out there. To be honest, dude, just for me, week
- 30:24Speaker 6: two of college football.
- 30:26Speaker 14: I mean.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Same thing.
- 30:27Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like not close. My team, my team won
- 30:32Speaker 6: and week one of the NFL, my team lost. So
- 30:35Speaker 6: that's pretty, it's pretty easy for me.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Like I was thinking about nothing but college football headlines,
- 30:40Speaker 1: storylines all throughout Sunday. Like I'm keeping up with the
- 30:43Speaker 1: NFL games. We've got the fantasy football league going on.
- 30:46Speaker 1: So I'm kind of looking out for some players, but
- 30:48Speaker 1: kind of just score watching throughout the day on Sunday,
- 30:52Speaker 1: catching some highlights. Obviously, I have to dive in this
- 30:55Speaker 1: week on what happened with the Cowboys and everything that
- 30:58Speaker 1: kind of took place. The Packers, what's going on in
- 31:00Speaker 1: Green Bay right now? What's going on with the Chargers
- 31:02Speaker 1: right now? Is McVay going to get it turned around?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Miles Garrett going on IR, brutal.
- 31:07Speaker 10: A.J.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Brown being hurt.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Patriots going to get it figured out. We'll dive into
- 31:12Speaker 6: that stuff, but I wasn't. What is the reason for
- 31:14Speaker 6: Miles Garrett being on IR? What was the injury?
- 31:17Speaker 4: Was it his hip or his knee?
- 31:19Speaker 6: His knee surgery on his knee.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Do we know what it was? Meniscus, MCL, PCL?
- 31:23Speaker 8: It sounded like it was more of a scope than
- 31:25Speaker 8: an actual repair.
- 31:26Speaker 1: A little clean out. IR is eight weeks, correct?
- 31:30Speaker 2: Four.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Four weeks. Okay, it's a shorter IR. Short-term one.
- 31:33Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, because he looked very pedestrian against Trent
- 31:38Speaker 6: Williams in that game in Australia.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Trent Williams.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Trent Williams choked him out.
- 31:42Speaker 6: He needs, like he is the best offensive lineman of
- 31:46Speaker 6: all time.
- 31:47Speaker 4: I still don't know why the Rams went out there
- 31:49Speaker 4: like the day before.
- 31:50Speaker 1: That was such a big topic of conversation. Yeah.
- 31:53Speaker 4: What were their staffers doing though? They're probably out there
- 31:55Speaker 4: partying with Australians and just stayed up the whole time.
- 31:58Speaker 1: 15 staffers over the last two years, they'd send out
- 32:02Speaker 1: to get some data and analytics on sleep, body recovery.
- 32:06Speaker 1: And I'm thinking, God, I love football, dude. For week one,
- 32:09Speaker 1: just out in Australia to try to get a win.
- 32:11Speaker 1: These guys are psychos and I love it. And then
- 32:13Speaker 1: my follow-up after was like, okay, this was a bad move.
- 32:16Speaker 1: They overthought it. Paralysis by analysis. I mean, Stafford didn't
- 32:21Speaker 1: look great. Brock Purdy looked nice. Brock Purdy looked nice
- 32:25Speaker 1: out there. That offense looked good, man. I was at... Devo.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Devo.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Devo back where he belongs.
- 32:31Speaker 6: I was at a soccer practice. I think it was
- 32:33Speaker 6: like Thursday last week. before the game and one of
- 32:38Speaker 6: the dads came up to me and was like, I'll
- 32:39Speaker 6: be honest, I'm just not high on Brock Purdy. I
- 32:41Speaker 6: just think he's got, he started kind of giving me
- 32:43Speaker 6: a take. I'm like, buddy, I'm just gonna let you know,
- 32:45Speaker 6: you need to take that take and you need to
- 32:46Speaker 6: shove it up your ass. There ain't no way.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I've been there, did that.
- 32:50Speaker 6: Do not do that. Do not talk bad about Brock Purdy.
- 32:53Speaker 6: I'm just telling you, dog. I'm just telling you, we
- 32:56Speaker 6: don't do that. And also shout out George Kittle. Achilles,
- 32:59Speaker 6: what was that, January when he had the Achilles?
- 33:01Speaker 4: It was like eight months to the day. of the game,
- 33:04Speaker 4: I think.
- 33:05Speaker 6: Bro, just so crazy how well he played. Like blocking,
- 33:08Speaker 6: had himself a couple of, like he looked great for
- 33:12Speaker 6: his first game off in Achilles.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Mowing some boys down out there. Mowing some cats down.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Nice to see. Yeah. Love me some George Kittle. Klay
- 33:20Speaker 1: did well on the broadcast. Klay did nice, dude. He
- 33:22Speaker 1: was out there rocking with old Big Dick Foles. Yeah.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Michael Irvin. Big Dick Nick, St. Nick, dude.
- 33:27Speaker 6: He was out there. I was texting with him about it.
- 33:30Speaker 6: He was flying back. I think this was like Friday
- 33:32Speaker 6: or something.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Or Saturday. He saves from the future.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Yeah, he's flying back now. He was happy the way
- 33:39Speaker 6: it went. He said, there's a lot of film you
- 33:40Speaker 6: can watch and correct. And he started talking to me
- 33:42Speaker 6: about like right before they came on, like all the
- 33:44Speaker 6: production and stuff.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I'm like, oh buddy.
- 33:46Speaker 6: Yeah, that's like the most, that feels like before a game.
- 33:48Speaker 6: Every time you're like doing a big thing and it's
- 33:51Speaker 6: like they're counting down, someone's starting and like, you don't
- 33:54Speaker 6: feel good until after you've spoken for the first time.
- 33:56Speaker 6: But the first time you speak, it's like, I just
- 33:58Speaker 6: got to get something out.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 6: And then everything goes smooth. But I thought he did
- 34:01Speaker 6: a great job. He's got four games. He's doing four
- 34:03Speaker 6: games this year.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Thanksgiving and Christmas too, I think.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Oh, dang. Yeah. So he's got a handful of them, man.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Get it done. Shout out Clay. Shout out Clay. Shout
- 34:12Speaker 1: out to Clay. Clay Moneyline Matthews. Clay Moneyline Matthews.
- 34:15Speaker 6: How did Clay do on the locker room? Because I
- 34:20Speaker 6: know he was swinging a big stick. We don't have
- 34:22Speaker 6: to get all of it right now. I just need
- 34:23Speaker 6: to know good or not great or whatever.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I don't need to know a number. Suspect. Suspect.
- 34:29Speaker 2: We'll find out on the leaderboard.
- 34:30Speaker 1: We'll find out on the leaderboard. We'll find out on
- 34:32Speaker 1: that old Ford leaderboard.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Big news. I got it if you want it.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Did you say good or bad?
- 34:38Speaker 5: Bad.
- 34:38Speaker 9: Okay.
- 34:38Speaker 2: All right.
- 34:39Speaker 1: That's all we need to find out on the Ford leaderboard.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Who came out on top over the weekend?
- 34:43Speaker 2: Taylor's in first.
- 34:44Speaker 9: Come on.
- 34:45Speaker 8: Hot.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Delaney's in second.
- 34:48Speaker 12: Oh.
- 34:49Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Thank you, fourth. Clay's in third.
- 34:51Speaker 2: No! Willie C.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Tough week one NFL, man.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Here's the good thing. Willie C.
- 35:01Speaker 6: He didn't use all his units, though, so it can't
- 35:03Speaker 6: be that bad.
- 35:04Speaker 7: It's somehow still pretty bad, but yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 6: We'll find out on the four-leader board.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Don't bet on Willie C. in week one. And that's
- 35:12Speaker 1: all good, dude. That's what they say, man. That's all good. Just, hey.
- 35:16Speaker 1: It's not how you start.
- 35:17Speaker 6: If Delaney Walker's taught us anything, dude, it's not how
- 35:21Speaker 6: you start. Like Cody sent me a text, he said, hey,
- 35:25Speaker 6: you're doing pretty good in the college football. And I'm like, dude,
- 35:27Speaker 6: I don't even want to hear that right now. Because
- 35:30Speaker 6: it'll bite you in the ass.
- 35:32Speaker 1: It'll bite you.
- 35:32Speaker 6: Start looking at all your wins. Stack days, stack weeks.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Keep it going. Man in the arena.
- 35:37Speaker 6: One thing to be excited about, Willie C is turning
- 35:39Speaker 6: 37 years old this week.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Birthday week for Willie C. Stop. Come on. Stop going
- 35:46Speaker 1: off in the comments. Happy birthday, Willie C. I thought
- 35:50Speaker 1: you were turning 38. 38 sounds old. It sounds scary.
- 35:52Speaker 1: 37 sounds nice.
- 35:54Speaker 9: It's cute.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel good about it. I'm excited. Body's holding
- 35:59Speaker 1: up all right? Yeah. I see you're posting daily about
- 36:01Speaker 1: your zone, your cardio, your workouts. You're feeling good? The
- 36:04Speaker 1: boy has been locked in. I'll just say that. That's it.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I'll just say that. Stacked days. Good momentum, good routine.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Got to have it. The boy's locked in right now.
- 36:12Speaker 6: What can we expect from a body comp standpoint? Jan
- 36:16Speaker 6: 1 of 27.
- 36:19Speaker 1: This time next year, let's say.
- 36:21Speaker 6: This time next year? This time next year. I want
- 36:24Speaker 6: to get a birthday week. Willie C's turning 38. We
- 36:27Speaker 6: all have a big clap. What are we staring at here?
- 36:30Speaker 1: Probably 13% body fat. All right. The floor. The floor.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Where are we at? Do we want to say where
- 36:37Speaker 1: we're at now? Oh, I measured. And when was it?
- 36:42Speaker 1: Maybe in the spring, I was 27% body fat, like
- 36:46Speaker 1: 600 grams of visceral fat sitting on the old muffin top.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 1: It's kind of a wake up call. That's good. Cholesterol
- 36:53Speaker 1: was bad.
- 36:54Speaker 2: It is brave.
- 36:55Speaker 1: A lot of people would shy away from that type
- 36:57Speaker 1: of stuff. Blood work was okay, but like blood pressure
- 37:01Speaker 1: was up. Cholesterol was sky high. Cholesterol thing could be
- 37:05Speaker 1: like a genetic thing. But yeah, it's one of those
- 37:08Speaker 1: you walk away and you're kind of just, you're just
- 37:10Speaker 1: riding quiet in your truck, looking in the rear view
- 37:12Speaker 1: mirror a lot. Like, buddy, you got to fucking. It's time.
- 37:15Speaker 1: You got to tighten up. I love that. I'll tell
- 37:18Speaker 1: you this, I'm a little tightened up.
- 37:20Speaker 4: And like when we were at a LSU, cause I
- 37:23Speaker 4: noticed this when I was editing the vlog, Versace tried
- 37:27Speaker 4: to like, try to go at Will a little bit
- 37:29Speaker 4: when he grabbed your, your stomach, he was like, oh
- 37:32Speaker 4: damn Will. I'm like, all right, coach, like, come on, man.
- 37:36Speaker 1: You ain't got to make me feel this shit. He
- 37:37Speaker 1: slapped the shit out of him, too. He slapped my neck,
- 37:40Speaker 1: fucking grabbed me in the stomach. Yeah, I slapped the
- 37:42Speaker 1: shit out of him.
- 37:43Speaker 6: That's the thing with body comps, though, dude. Like, you're
- 37:45Speaker 6: putting the work in. It's not going to show for
- 37:47Speaker 6: a certain amount of time. That's why so many people quit.
- 37:50Speaker 6: So when people grab that, it's just a quick reminder.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Wait till you see him next.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Firm. You grab his shit. What is this? And
- 37:57Speaker 1: rub the top of his head, man. Where's that at?
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm down eight right now. Eight percent?
- 38:03Speaker 2: Eight.
- 38:03Speaker 15: Pounds okay i was gonna say holy shit holiday season
- 38:06Speaker 15: lock-in will be key key that is massive last year
- 38:10Speaker 15: during the football season when i got away from like
- 38:12Speaker 15: working out like honestly probably the worst run i've had in.
- 38:16Speaker 1: My entire life as far as working out the weights
- 38:19Speaker 1: yeah yeah because even when i'll um even when i
- 38:22Speaker 1: was done playing like i still like kept up with
- 38:24Speaker 1: stuff and Managed it. Wouldn't say it was all in
- 38:28Speaker 1: about it. Managed it. But last season, fell off. Fell
- 38:31Speaker 1: off all the way. Didn't do shit during holiday season.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Wasn't doing shit coming out of the Super Bowl. Wasn't
- 38:38Speaker 1: doing shit, period, bro. A lot of ice cream. A
- 38:41Speaker 1: lot of ice cream. I'm talking about probably around five
- 38:45Speaker 1: months of doing absolutely nothing. No way.
- 38:47Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:48Speaker 6: How was it getting back into it? Because sometimes that
- 38:49Speaker 6: can be five months away from it.
- 38:52Speaker 1: It was fucking tough.
- 38:53Speaker 6: You go to sit on the toilet. After that first
- 38:55Speaker 6: week getting back, it's always the most painful.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it was tough. It was tough. But we've, you know,
- 39:00Speaker 1: we've been stacking days. One week at a time.
- 39:03Speaker 6: 37 years old might be the healthiest year of your
- 39:05Speaker 6: entire life is what we're hearing right now.
- 39:07Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yep.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Let's go. I like that. It's happening. I like that, dude.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Big time.
- 39:13Speaker 6: Hey, big news in the Ripping with the Boys world.
- 39:17Speaker 6: Pokemon 30th anniversary comes out the 19th, 18th, 18th. Pokemon,
- 39:21Speaker 6: gotta catch them. 30 years of Pokemon. And they are
- 39:25Speaker 6: finally coming out. We have our Rippin' stream, 7 p.m.
- 39:28Speaker 6: Central Time on Tuesdays. After that stream, Coleman will be
- 39:32Speaker 6: going to stores, I think it's GameStop, to go camp
- 39:36Speaker 6: out for the drop just for 30th anniversary. That's how
- 39:40Speaker 6: bought in he is into the.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Rippin' world. He's gotta go, man. He's got to go.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Like bought in, you go.
- 39:49Speaker 4: Go.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Got to see it. Got to keep seeing it. Hell yeah,
- 39:52Speaker 1: he does. Got to go. Hell yeah, he does. So yes,
- 39:55Speaker 1: it's an exciting week. We got to go, man. It's
- 40:00Speaker 1: like Oregon right now. Hey guys, we got to fucking,
- 40:02Speaker 1: we got to go. I know we're all bought in.
- 40:04Speaker 1: We got to go.
- 40:05Speaker 6: Could you imagine if Oregon had a bye week? They
- 40:08Speaker 6: need to get this Portland State.
- 40:10Speaker 1: They need to figure it out quick. Yeah, got to go.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Gotta go.
- 40:13Speaker 9: That's inspiring, though, because something that we've lost over the
- 40:16Speaker 9: last decade or two is showing up to midnight releases
- 40:20Speaker 9: at brick-and-mortar video game stores. Yes.
- 40:23Speaker 7: That's not the best.
- 40:24Speaker 9: That's true fandom. It's what you love about it. It's
- 40:27Speaker 9: going to a GameStop at 11 p.m. to get the
- 40:29Speaker 9: new Call of Duty release. Obviously, he's getting the Pokemon,
- 40:32Speaker 9: but we need more camping out for trading cards, video games.
- 40:36Speaker 7: We need to just be back outside. Movie premieres.
- 40:39Speaker 9: So this is a, you know, on top of getting
- 40:41Speaker 9: the 30th anniversary Pokemon, this could hopefully spark a new
- 40:46Speaker 9: inspiration of younger kids to go out there, camp out,
- 40:50Speaker 9: get your favorite cards, get your favorite video games. I
- 40:52Speaker 9: think it's inspiring. Which is now also on the parents too.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Like, You got to have a longer leash to let
- 40:58Speaker 4: your kids go do these things. Trust them. Trust them.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Hey, what'd that sound like today, buddy?
- 41:03Speaker 6: It sounded like Kevin's Natural Foods clean take to me.
- 41:06Speaker 6: That sounded like to me.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Hand up.
- 41:10Speaker 6: I've never done the campout thing before. Did you guys ever?
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:14Speaker 9: I did it for the first, for Call of Duty 4.
- 41:17Speaker 9: through the next four releases. So it was seventh grade
- 41:20Speaker 9: through 10th grade. I went every midnight cause it comes
- 41:24Speaker 9: out the week of my birthday. So it was like
- 41:26Speaker 9: a double dip where I'm like, you know, this is
- 41:28Speaker 9: what I want for my birthday. I also want to
- 41:30Speaker 9: go out there and I want to be able to
- 41:31Speaker 9: stay up till 4am and play it. It's special to
- 41:34Speaker 9: be out there with a group of like-minded people that
- 41:36Speaker 9: you normally don't hang out with in real life, but
- 41:39Speaker 9: you all are there for a common theme and that's,
- 41:42Speaker 9: it's fucking awesome.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Have you ever camped out for anything? I think, No,
- 41:46Speaker 1: cause I won the first iPhone. What is it called?
- 41:56Speaker 1: Like the senior, the senior class. For parking passes? No, no.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Like for the end of the year where the senior
- 42:02Speaker 1: class after graduation does like, we did like a, like
- 42:06Speaker 1: a lock-in, a sleepover at not Dave and Buster's, but
- 42:09Speaker 1: like a Bonterra version of Dave and Buster's. Chuck E.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Cheese?
- 42:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I forget what it's called, but our senior class had
- 42:14Speaker 1: something going into it where parents of the senior class,
- 42:17Speaker 1: they're trying to raise money. They're trying to raise funds
- 42:19Speaker 1: to where we could like do our thing after graduation happens.
- 42:22Speaker 1: We went and did a lock-in somewhere. But one of
- 42:25Speaker 1: the things to raise money was selling all the little
- 42:27Speaker 1: coupon booklets. And if you won, you got an Xbox
- 42:31Speaker 1: and you got the first generation iPhone. I remember sitting
- 42:34Speaker 1: in that auditorium being like, I'm going to fucking win
- 42:37Speaker 1: both of these things. Legit, like there's a couple I
- 42:41Speaker 1: was kind of keeping my eye on, like, okay, they
- 42:42Speaker 1: could do good. Like, you know, they got the families
- 42:44Speaker 1: that can probably give them money to win this thing.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I was like, I'm going to go fucking door to
- 42:48Speaker 1: door and I'm going to win this thing. And you won? Yes.
- 42:50Speaker 1: By how much? What was the margin of victory? I
- 42:53Speaker 1: think I won by $ 300 or $ 400. And we're talking
- 42:56Speaker 1: $ 20 little booklets. Yeah, you were smacking. Dude, I was
- 42:59Speaker 1: out there. I was hunting. Yeah. But I remember locking
- 43:02Speaker 1: in like, because I knew I wasn't going to get
- 43:04Speaker 1: shit like that for Christmas. But I'm like, I'm fucking
- 43:08Speaker 1: winning that first generation iPhone.
- 43:10Speaker 4: God. Had a few when they called your name. Will Compton,
- 43:13Speaker 4: please come to the front and accept the gift.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Looking at Sean Henderson like, what, son? I told you
- 43:18Speaker 1: I was going to win this shit.
- 43:18Speaker 6: Did they announce it in the auditorium or was it
- 43:20Speaker 6: over the loudspeakers at the school?
- 43:21Speaker 1: I can't remember. Good question.
- 43:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I can't remember. You gotta remember that.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Nah.
- 43:24Speaker 1: You gotta remember that. I remember the smile on my
- 43:26Speaker 1: face and like, getting them. Jailbreaking that first generation iPhone.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I'm going to call it jailbreaking iPhones. Moving wallpapers. Yeah. Damn, dude.
- 43:35Speaker 6: That's a sick story. I kind of wish you'd step
- 43:37Speaker 6: on a podium and give like a victory speech or something.
- 43:41Speaker 1: So when I knew that hustler mentality, I was like,
- 43:43Speaker 1: I'm winning this shit, bro. And smacked by $ 400. Didn't
- 43:47Speaker 1: say many words. In high school, it was a crazy,
- 43:49Speaker 1: crazy number.
- 43:51Speaker 4: That's a good like 30 books, 30 coupon books.
- 43:54Speaker 1: It didn't speak much, didn't say many words, just knew, hey,
- 43:57Speaker 1: it's time to go. It's time to go.
- 44:03Speaker 6: Coleman Oregon football fake phone calls the first week he
- 44:06Speaker 6: had that phone just pretend he was walking around so
- 44:08Speaker 6: everyone knew he won that.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Shit he called everyone everyone.
- 44:12Speaker 6: Just to let them know it is my number it's
- 44:14Speaker 6: like yeah Will your number hasn't changed just so you
- 44:15Speaker 6: know it's on my iPhone though.
- 44:16Speaker 13: This is also with a 10.6 GPA at the time hell.
- 44:20Speaker 6: Yeah big brain thinking dude big brain thinking with that
- 44:23Speaker 6: 10.6 hey.
- 44:24Speaker 1: When I was driving the other day too I was
- 44:26Speaker 1: like it might have been a 10.8 have you read
- 44:28Speaker 1: the comments on that I've seen some of them not
- 44:31Speaker 1: in your favor Not in his favor?
- 44:33Speaker 13: Everyone's like, that did not exist.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yo, dude, yeah. I've never heard of that in my life.
- 44:38Speaker 1: What's that? The 11 GPA grading scale did exist. I
- 44:41Speaker 1: saw some comments saying that that existed.
- 44:44Speaker 7: For homeschooling?
- 44:45Speaker 1: Why is he so defensive?
- 44:47Speaker 7: I saw one.
- 44:47Speaker 1: He's ready to go today.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Will is ready to.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Go today, dude. Somebody wants to come at him. What
- 44:55Speaker 1: do you mean?
- 44:57Speaker 13: What do you mean?
- 44:58Speaker 2: I saw one.
- 44:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw one.
- 44:59Speaker 3: It was real, so it's real. I want to shout
- 45:02Speaker 3: out the member of Taylor going, what about you, Will?
- 45:04Speaker 3: You ever camped out for anything? Nah, man, but I
- 45:07Speaker 3: want an iPhone. Had nothing to do with the camping.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I stayed up, but this was
- 45:14Speaker 1: the Xbox era where you could buy the games online,
- 45:17Speaker 1: but staying up till midnight for Red Dead. But I've
- 45:20Speaker 1: never been at a store waiting.
- 45:22Speaker 13: Imagine if they put GTA 6 in stores only. that
- 45:26Speaker 13: would be they should do that like the night before
- 45:29Speaker 13: like hey just so you know you can't pre-order this
- 45:30Speaker 13: you can't get it online game stop look it up
- 45:33Speaker 13: your nearest one i.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Feel like yeah i feel like you'd love it taylor
- 45:38Speaker 4: i could.
- 45:38Speaker 6: I could get behind that for sure like i've had
- 45:40Speaker 6: a situation that will had in middle school with a
- 45:42Speaker 6: with a speaker system that i won but i've never
- 45:46Speaker 6: uh i've never camped out.
- 45:48Speaker 13: What do you mean what do you mean like you're
- 45:49Speaker 13: like I won and you made a face.
- 45:51Speaker 6: Oh, like a raffle thing. Oh, it made it seem
- 45:54Speaker 6: like it was fixed. Oh, you won a 50-50 drawing.
- 45:57Speaker 1: No, no, no. Don't take away that. Oh, you won
- 45:59Speaker 1: a raffle.
- 46:00Speaker 6: In middle school, there was a speaker system that had
- 46:05Speaker 6: two giant speakers and it held like three CDs or
- 46:09Speaker 6: seven CDs. And you put them in there and they
- 46:11Speaker 6: would kind of rotate around. And they showed it off
- 46:13Speaker 6: and they're like, hey, we're doing a raffle. You have
- 46:15Speaker 6: to go and sell certain things. Every time you sell something,
- 46:17Speaker 6: you get one little ticket. And I went off and
- 46:20Speaker 6: won that. But I would write.
- 46:25Speaker 1: On the ticket. You guys know my handwriting.
- 46:27Speaker 6: I would write Taylor LeJuan full name because there was
- 46:29Speaker 6: a kid in my class named Taylor Lewis. That was
- 46:32Speaker 6: like two letters. So on the loudspeaker, which I remember
- 46:36Speaker 6: they put on the loudspeaker, so you know my story
- 46:38Speaker 6: is valid.
- 46:39Speaker 1: They read it off.
- 46:40Speaker 6: They said, Taylor Lou, Lou. And so me and Taylor
- 46:44Speaker 6: Lewis had to go to the office to go figure
- 46:46Speaker 6: out who won. And it was clearly Taylor LeJuan on there.
- 46:49Speaker 1: So it drew you out of a hat. No, because
- 46:51Speaker 1: you had to, yeah, because I had the most tickets. Yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 1: so you got drawn, the ticket, your ticket got picked
- 46:56Speaker 1: because you had the higher probability.
- 46:58Speaker 6: Because I put the most work in to get the
- 47:00Speaker 6: most tickets, yes. Taylor Lewis cries.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Oh no.
- 47:04Speaker 6: He cries, loses his mind about it. Apparently his parents
- 47:07Speaker 6: went and bought him the same one.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Allegedly. Them were the kids, bro. Them were those kids, bro.
- 47:15Speaker 4: The surround sound subwoofer speaker era.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Hold on. I don't know if it was surround sound.
- 47:19Speaker 1: There was two giant speakers that were right next to it.
- 47:21Speaker 4: I just mean that era where like speakers were the thing.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, dude.
- 47:25Speaker 6: First CD I ever bought for that was Kid Rock,
- 47:28Speaker 6: Devil Without a Cause.
- 47:30Speaker 1: And I put that in my room. Oh, fuck, dude.
- 47:33Speaker 1: We were going ham.
- 47:34Speaker 13: Was it like digital or was it like CDs? No,
- 47:36Speaker 13: it was CDs, man.
- 47:37Speaker 1: This is like, I think like MPH.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Oh! Oh, no.
- 47:44Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I was right there with you, Taylor. Oh, no. Dude,
- 47:52Speaker 1: I had to.
- 47:52Speaker 13: You said CDs so much.
- 47:54Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 47:54Speaker 7: Taylor Lewis might have just won.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Taylor Lewis. I'm sorry.
- 48:00Speaker 13: I was just there for the taking.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Don't be sorry, man.
- 48:02Speaker 13: I thought everybody was thinking it.
- 48:04Speaker 4: We were all saying CDs.
- 48:04Speaker 1: That was a kill shot. Like, you just. Sorry, we
- 48:08Speaker 1: can move on.
- 48:09Speaker 9: Day uh one quick thing no i off the topic
- 48:13Speaker 9: of this i've just received a text from ballin from
- 48:16Speaker 9: this previous story i i texted him back and i
- 48:19Speaker 9: said i think you gotta put the city on your
- 48:20Speaker 9: back and walk this out hadn't gotten a response back
- 48:23Speaker 9: and i just got one yeah it's happening just tweeted
- 48:27Speaker 9: it out so it is officially on him To make
- 48:31Speaker 9: this right.
- 48:31Speaker 7: Good for him.
- 48:32Speaker 1: So good for him.
- 48:33Speaker 7: And he said he's going to raise money for ALS
- 48:35Speaker 7: in the process. Oh, wow. So be the hero this
- 48:39Speaker 7: city deserves.
- 48:41Speaker 2: I'm worried about my Eagle Sunday now.
- 48:42Speaker 1: We need to work some video updates and stuff as
- 48:44Speaker 1: he does it. I'll talk to him. We can get
- 48:46Speaker 1: him rolling on Boston. Just get it. We got to go.
- 48:49Speaker 1: We got to go in Tennessee.
- 48:50Speaker 2: We got to go.
- 48:51Speaker 1: We got to go in Tennessee. We got to support
- 48:54Speaker 1: the local, man.
- 48:55Speaker 8: Oh.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Then jerry kind of dummy you.
- 48:59Speaker 6: Know when you're thinking about it bro he like you
- 49:03Speaker 6: know when you're thinking about doing it and your heart
- 49:05Speaker 6: rate gets up yeah like for the.
- 49:07Speaker 13: Last like three minutes of that story i've been like
- 49:09Speaker 13: how do i get.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Because taylor kept talking you like cd's nuts you must
- 49:12Speaker 1: cd's nuts in your mouth yeah no.
- 49:14Speaker 6: One didn't even cross my mind i saw everybody cheering
- 49:17Speaker 6: and then it literally clicked in my head like oh
- 49:19Speaker 6: he just fucking killed you You just got.
- 49:21Speaker 1: I didn't even know I got got. I was with
- 49:23Speaker 1: you though.
- 49:23Speaker 5: Were you?
- 49:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't see it coming.
- 49:25Speaker 6: Because I said CDs like seven times.
- 49:27Speaker 13: That's like the oldest school one that I feel like
- 49:29Speaker 13: I got by when I was younger.
- 49:30Speaker 1: God, that was a body bag.
- 49:32Speaker 6: Because I was like ready to go full on. I
- 49:34Speaker 6: could be like, no, MP3 players actually came out a
- 49:36Speaker 6: couple years later.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Demon out of nowhere jared jared mestermaker.
- 49:41Speaker 6: Jared playoff quarterback playoff quarterback anyway how do we feel
- 49:47Speaker 6: i'm done.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Hey on the 30th anniversary of pokemon 2 we had
- 49:54Speaker 1: a little poke party over the weekend.
- 49:55Speaker 6: Yeah oh yeah yeah the one birthday bash took place
- 49:59Speaker 6: it was fun dude it was a good time there
- 50:00Speaker 6: was a phone tail goes hey we went off at
- 50:02Speaker 6: this party i'm like what do you mean she goes
- 50:04Speaker 6: we had.
- 50:04Speaker 1: A phone call Dude, there was so much. They could
- 50:08Speaker 1: have sold tickets to this thing.
- 50:10Speaker 6: There was so many things in this party. Like I
- 50:12Speaker 6: talked to Taylor on that night. I'm like, bro, we can't,
- 50:14Speaker 6: we can't have a party like that for nine and
- 50:17Speaker 6: six year olds.
- 50:17Speaker 1: So what do you mean?
- 50:18Speaker 6: I was like, dude, that's too much. Like we're setting
- 50:21Speaker 6: our children up for failure in the future of their
- 50:25Speaker 6: lives to think that they have to do that every
- 50:27Speaker 6: single time. Cause that was a banger part. It was
- 50:29Speaker 6: too much of a banger.
- 50:30Speaker 1: I'm getting photos of Scotty with Pikachu because she's got
- 50:33Speaker 1: this little stuffed Pikachu at the house so she loves Pikachu.
- 50:35Speaker 1: But I'm getting multiple photos. Oh, there's another Pikachu. Go
- 50:38Speaker 1: stand by it. She just wanted to get on that
- 50:40Speaker 1: water slide. The water slide we had at the Father's
- 50:42Speaker 1: Day event. That water slide was there? No, it was
- 50:46Speaker 1: a bigger one. Oh, that was a bigger one? That
- 50:49Speaker 1: was my one thing.
- 50:50Speaker 6: I was like, hey, I want a giant ass water
- 50:53Speaker 6: slide for this party because I want to do it.
- 50:55Speaker 6: And then the parents from Wynn and Willow's soccer team
- 50:57Speaker 6: started showing up and I'm like, doing the slide and
- 51:01Speaker 6: i was by myself that was kind of tough but
- 51:04Speaker 6: then it was like a longer it was because you
- 51:05Speaker 6: know how you when you did it it was such
- 51:07Speaker 6: an abrupt stop at uh dad combine or whatever it
- 51:09Speaker 6: was like this or had like a longer hey you
- 51:12Speaker 6: get to slow down a little bit before you get
- 51:13Speaker 6: to the end it was it was more adult friendly.
- 51:16Speaker 4: Parents are showing up i'm struggling to get out of
- 51:18Speaker 4: it oh hey guys like.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Slipping ass everywhere dude but yeah it was.
- 51:23Speaker 6: Apparently the the person that was helping tail and put
- 51:26Speaker 6: it on she's like always want to do like a
- 51:27Speaker 6: big pokemon party so she like went and did a
- 51:29Speaker 6: bunch of extra stuff.
- 51:30Speaker 1: That's what I was told.
- 51:31Speaker 6: I don't know if that's actually, I'm going to believe
- 51:33Speaker 6: that to be the truth.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Hey, the Italian soda station.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 51:38Speaker 1: I didn't have one of them. Was it solid? Yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 1: it was awesome.
- 51:41Speaker 6: Dude, that little machine where they had like, we'll can
- 51:44Speaker 6: it for you, is unreal.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Where it's like, yeah. You made a can? You made
- 51:48Speaker 1: a pop-a-top? You had canning soda at this? They were
- 51:50Speaker 1: canning Italian soda. They had this machine that like, you
- 51:53Speaker 1: want lemonade, you want strawberry, you want peach, mango. I'm like,
- 51:55Speaker 1: it don't matter. Just give me Italian soda. Put some
- 51:57Speaker 1: strawberry in it. It was awesome. They had like a,
- 52:00Speaker 1: what is it? What is it? The claw. The claw machine.
- 52:06Speaker 1: What is it? The claw machine. We got to go.
- 52:10Speaker 1: My brain's like, come on, what is it? We got
- 52:12Speaker 1: to go right now. They had a claw machine there
- 52:14Speaker 1: picking up Pokemon toys. That was involuntary. They have the
- 52:17Speaker 1: puppies there.
- 52:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:19Speaker 1: And those puppies were like. Those puppies hated each other, bro.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I was going to question what kind of cage we
- 52:25Speaker 1: had going on.
- 52:26Speaker 6: It was like kind of turning one of those parties
- 52:28Speaker 6: where all the dads kind of went into the man
- 52:30Speaker 6: cave area and were all watching ball a little bit.
- 52:33Speaker 6: And the puppies were kind of right outside the door.
- 52:35Speaker 6: Every three or four minutes, two.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Puppies just hated each other.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 1: So they just kept fighting over and over again. Getting
- 52:41Speaker 1: after it. Puppies were getting after it. Blow little pokeballs
- 52:46Speaker 1: in the pool. Rue had a moment in the pool
- 52:48Speaker 1: that was like, I was like, get the fuck out
- 52:50Speaker 1: of there. Yeah. Hey, what did happen? Scared the shit
- 52:53Speaker 1: out of me. She's just like swimming by herself and
- 52:55Speaker 1: I'm watching her, but she's like making her way to
- 52:57Speaker 1: like the middle of the pool. I don't know what
- 52:58Speaker 1: she's doing, but I just hear her breathing. So I
- 53:00Speaker 1: think she's like getting out of breath. And I'm like,
- 53:02Speaker 1: all right. Colum kind of sees me. I'm like putting
- 53:04Speaker 1: my stuff down. I'm keeping my eye on her. And
- 53:06Speaker 1: she like comes out. I was like, hey, Rue, what
- 53:08Speaker 1: are you doing? She was like, oh, this yellow shark,
- 53:11Speaker 1: this yellow shark. And then she just dives under the water.
- 53:13Speaker 1: And I'm like- the fuck's going on i see her
- 53:16Speaker 1: swimming down but i'm like all right she's this is
- 53:18Speaker 1: deeper than the pool that we have i don't know
- 53:20Speaker 1: if she knows how deep this is but she's going
- 53:23Speaker 1: to deep dive for this yellow shark i'm thinking she's
- 53:25Speaker 1: gonna run the way i was hearing her breathing before
- 53:27Speaker 1: she went underwater i'm like this could be a panic
- 53:30Speaker 1: situation for her trying to swim back up but clump
- 53:33Speaker 1: kind of sees me because club was about to jump
- 53:35Speaker 1: in too he kind of sees a little bit of
- 53:37Speaker 1: the panic happening i put like everything down And she
- 53:40Speaker 1: comes up, she's like, I got the yellow shark. I
- 53:41Speaker 1: got the yellow shark. All of a sudden, I'm like,
- 53:43Speaker 1: you swam to the other side. What are you doing, bro?
- 53:45Speaker 1: But she went and dove down. Yeah, she went and
- 53:47Speaker 1: dove down and got that damn yellow shark. I'm like, bro, you.
- 53:51Speaker 6: Rue was trying to get me to do some nasty
- 53:52Speaker 6: stuff to both of you. She was trying to get
- 53:54Speaker 6: me to throw a clump in the pool.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I heard her.
- 53:56Speaker 1: She goes, I'll go tell her. I'll go tell her.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Come here, I'll tell you a secret. I'm like, what's up?
- 54:00Speaker 1: She goes, throw my dad in the pool. Throw my
- 54:02Speaker 1: dad in the pool. I was like, all right, yeah.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Did you do it?
- 54:06Speaker 8: No.
- 54:06Speaker 1: He came over, I picked up Scotty. Oh, Scotty, what
- 54:08Speaker 1: are you doing, sweetheart? You want some love from that?
- 54:10Speaker 6: I had a major bro move by me, though. I
- 54:11Speaker 6: went to Rue and I was like, I can't get
- 54:13Speaker 6: your dad. He's way stronger than me. Your dad's the
- 54:16Speaker 6: strongest guy I know. Give us that for his clean take.
- 54:19Speaker 1: She goes, you got to try. She goes, you got
- 54:21Speaker 1: to try and give him. I was like, I'll help you.
- 54:23Speaker 1: So we went over there. I was like, see, he's
- 54:24Speaker 1: so strong. I can't even pick him up. Your dad's
- 54:26Speaker 1: so strong, Rue. That's a good friend, Will. He was
- 54:29Speaker 1: giving me some running points.
- 54:30Speaker 16: I was.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Got to get the boy's points. I felt Taylor grabbing
- 54:33Speaker 1: me though. And then I immediately just picked up Scotty. Yeah,
- 54:36Speaker 1: we all got on high alert.
- 54:36Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 54:37Speaker 1: You notice I like to get a little physical.
- 54:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Let me get this insurance policy real quick.
- 54:41Speaker 6: Picked up Scotty. I was like, wow, that's crazy. Putting
- 54:44Speaker 6: your daughter as a shield.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Is it nuts? You got to play smart ball there.
- 54:49Speaker 1: You got to go, man.
- 54:50Speaker 6: Yeah, but we got to... We got to reevaluate the
- 54:53Speaker 6: way we do parties at a low on household.
- 54:55Speaker 1: We are brought to you by Duncan. The bus runs
- 54:58Speaker 1: on Duncan. Our go-to Duncan order every time is simple.
- 55:02Speaker 1: A refreshing ice black coffee. That's the order every single time,
- 55:06Speaker 1: every single morning for the boys. It's become part of
- 55:08Speaker 1: our daily routine. And Duncan, run in the morning after
- 55:12Speaker 1: a workout before we record the podcast or on the
- 55:14Speaker 1: go during football season. It doesn't matter. Duncan is always
- 55:18Speaker 1: there for early mornings or afternoon pick-me-ups. And Duncan ice
- 55:21Speaker 1: coffee just hits different. The thing about Dunkin' that I
- 55:24Speaker 1: love most is you can customize literally everything. Whatever you're into,
- 55:28Speaker 1: however you want it, Dunkin' has it for you. Iced lattes,
- 55:32Speaker 1: cold brews, refreshers, you name it, they got it. There's
- 55:35Speaker 1: something for everybody. And if you haven't locked in your Dunkin'
- 55:38Speaker 1: order yet, now's the time. Hit up your local Dunkin'
- 55:41Speaker 1: or sign up for Dunkin' rewards at dunkindonuts.com slash rewards.
- 55:46Speaker 1: The bus runs on Dunkin'. It was a good party, though.
- 55:50Speaker 1: It was a great party. It was phenomenal. It was
- 55:51Speaker 1: a phenomenal party. But I saw service always parents kind.
- 55:55Speaker 6: Of came up and like oh, yeah, I don't know
- 55:57Speaker 6: if my kids will ever enjoy parties again I'm like
- 56:00Speaker 6: fuck man.
- 56:00Speaker 1: I don't want to be that guy. It was like
- 56:03Speaker 1: a festival. Yeah, all.
- 56:07Speaker 16: Right Yeah, and we did in September their their birthdays
- 56:16Speaker 16: are in July so that's a whole nother thing too and.
- 56:19Speaker 1: But overall, I had a great time.
- 56:21Speaker 2: It was a great party.
- 56:21Speaker 6: I was just, there was a lot of new people
- 56:23Speaker 6: coming to my house where I'm like, I don't want,
- 56:26Speaker 6: you know, I just didn't want it to get weird.
- 56:28Speaker 1: I didn't want it to get weird out there. Anyway,
- 56:30Speaker 1: all good. All fucking good.
- 56:32Speaker 6: Just got to reevaluate the way we do some things.
- 56:35Speaker 1: We got to go. What's next? We got to go.
- 56:37Speaker 1: How about this Alabama guy? Yeah, Tear Talk from Jared Ladd.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Jared Ladd. This is tier one right here. Can the
- 56:43Speaker 1: boys explain to me what the guy in the long
- 56:44Speaker 1: sleeve blue shirt in the back is calling? Hashtag Tear Talk.
- 56:49Speaker 6: I think Sherm broke it down perfectly. Sherm, what did you,
- 56:51Speaker 6: this guy's smoking a Blizzy?
- 56:53Speaker 13: He's got a Blizzy Blunt at first.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Hit the Blunt.
- 56:55Speaker 3: And then it looks like he's either doing an acoustic guitar,
- 56:58Speaker 3: maybe a thicker female.
- 57:00Speaker 1: He's kind of doing the.
- 57:02Speaker 13: outstretched arms, some fine shit, if you will.
- 57:05Speaker 3: And then the hand going up and down on the crotch,
- 57:10Speaker 3: I've really only seen that in movies like Wolf of
- 57:12Speaker 3: Wall Street.
- 57:14Speaker 13: I don't know what that move's exactly called.
- 57:16Speaker 6: Right, yeah, there's no way to tell. But that's why
- 57:18Speaker 6: it's a sign, because then you can't differentiate. You have
- 57:20Speaker 6: no idea what the.
- 57:21Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, I don't know what Bama's running
- 57:23Speaker 3: when I see that.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:25Speaker 6: I'd like to see what this play actually was. I'd
- 57:27Speaker 6: like to see that. Because what's weird is, I don't
- 57:29Speaker 6: know if this guy in the blue shirt is even.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Employed. Because the guy in the yellow is doing something
- 57:34Speaker 1: completely different.
- 57:35Speaker 2: It's just callers.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Dummy calls everywhere. Yeah. Guy in the blue is the
- 57:39Speaker 1: dummy calls. Who knows? He was going dummy. Hit the vitamins.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Find a baddie. Close. Close. That's truly it. Oh, man.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Gotta go. What are the cheer talks we got out here?
- 57:55Speaker 1: Can't wait for Will to read them. Dick Richard, another
- 57:59Speaker 1: tier one out there. Oregon Duck fan. Hashtag tier talk.
- 58:03Speaker 1: People are saying that both Nebraska and Michigan are going
- 58:06Speaker 1: to end the season with more wins than Oregon. I
- 58:09Speaker 1: don't know if people are actually saying that, though.
- 58:11Speaker 6: I'm not even going to humor this tier talk. We
- 58:15Speaker 6: just got to have a good game against UTEP. And
- 58:18Speaker 6: I hope Dan Lanning figures it out. I hope his
- 58:20Speaker 6: only other loss throughout the season is Michigan and Nebraska.
- 58:24Speaker 6: So unfortunately, Dan Lanning is going to miss the playoffs.
- 58:26Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 1: I know Oregon fans right now are massively probably hitting
- 58:31Speaker 1: the panic button. Yeah. I'm not going there yet. No.
- 58:35Speaker 6: We need to see a clean game against Portland State
- 58:38Speaker 6: and then at USC. At USC is when we find
- 58:42Speaker 6: out what kind of ball club you have in the Northwest.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Which could be a home game for Oregon, the way
- 58:45Speaker 3: the crowds have been showing up to USC.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:48Speaker 12: Right?
- 58:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:48Speaker 6: But the words of Lincoln Riley, they get better and
- 58:50Speaker 6: better as the season goes on.
- 58:53Speaker 1: True. We'll see. Tough, tough tier talk, too, from an
- 58:57Speaker 1: Oregon fan. Already just like, oh, I hate it for
- 59:00Speaker 1: him right now. S. Argento. I got a clean take. Oh,
- 59:05Speaker 1: Kevin's Astro Foods clean take coming up. I came home
- 59:07Speaker 1: from football practice to my new bus and gear kit.
- 59:10Speaker 1: me a bucket hat and my girl said she got my,
- 59:12Speaker 1: she got my a surprise. It was a sick shirt.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Hashtag tear talk.
- 59:18Speaker 7: I can't.
- 59:18Speaker 1: What does this little guy get? Let's see.
- 59:21Speaker 13: Let's see.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Oh, did he do an unboxing? He did an unboxing.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Do you want me to switch the audio over now?
- 59:30Speaker 1: So he came back from football practice? He's a coach.
- 59:33Speaker 1: He's a coach. Or 37U.
- 59:35Speaker 4: We don't know.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Or Flag.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Did you call him Little Guy? Well, I thought it was,
- 59:38Speaker 1: you know, the way that it was written. I'll let
- 59:39Speaker 1: you see the video from the old Little Guy right here. Dude,
- 59:42Speaker 1: he's fired up. He's juiced. We got a Bucky.
- 59:45Speaker 6: The bucket head does go so hard. The bucket's nice.
- 59:48Speaker 6: I love the way he puts it on, too.
- 59:51Speaker 1: And t-shirt. He's ready to go.
- 59:55Speaker 4: Let's go. That's just a wholesome comment, too.
- 59:57Speaker 15: Like.
- 59:58Speaker 4: You know he's just out there working with these kids
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: all day. He's hot. It's early season football. Things are
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: going wrong. And he gets home and his wife or girlfriend,
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: whoever it was, she surprised him with some merch of
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: his favorite podcast. And he's like, man, this is it.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: His week was made. Clean take. Clean take. Look at
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: the selfie. He's fired up.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: You know, he's flexing on the kids at school too.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: All the kids he's coaching.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Yeah, he's walking around for sure. New bucket. New bucket.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Showing them the clamp.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: Need a dub this week, coach.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: DWTV if you want it. Yeah. Hey, your coach was
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: on bus in this past week. Just FYI, kids. Hell yeah.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: You want me to hit this one? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: QGrey6 on YouTube. We got a hashtag to your talk.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: How long do we think it'll be before we're congratulating
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: a member of the bus and crew for being in
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame? Hashtag to your talk. I'm in
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: the high school Hall of Fame.
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: I think that's- You are as well?
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: No.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: But they have a- I thought you had like.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: A- Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: I am in the Catchy Shadows Hall of Fame. There's
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: been talks about- There's been talks about Chaparral. Chaparral, they've
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: contacted me.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Oh, Chaparral's where you won the state title?
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: No, Catchy Shadows I won a state title with. And
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: I was there for my first three years. The school
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: I went to my senior year. Rumors are swirling about
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: being inducted in their Hall of Fame right now. That's
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: where my brain went to no, but yes.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: Do they have the Taylor LeJuan jersey? Doesn't one of
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: the schools have it?
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Chaparral.
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: They do like a, yeah, I guess the Taylor LeJuan jersey.
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: So they like give out 77. There's like a handful
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: of numbers they give out to guys that played there.
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: Because like Chaparral is a school that they have a
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: high football, they have a strong football tradition there. Good
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: ball players coming out of Arizona at Chaparral. So, but
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: as far as Hall of Fame goes, oh, Clay, maybe?
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: Like 30 years from now? How many Paul Bowles does
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: Klay have? I'm not even trying to shit on Klay.
- 1:01:53Speaker 9: Nine?
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Was it? Or eight?
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: In my way, I might be off on that. Yeah.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Let's call Devontae. Call Devontae up. Klay's got the best shot. Six.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: You never know.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Six Pro Bowls in 11 years. How many All-Pros does
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: he have?
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I think one first team, one second.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: Team.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Second team was as a middle linebacker, if I'm correct.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Or no, one first team. Yeah, so I guess our
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: best shot is Klay.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: But you never know who else might sign.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: True. True. This is my first year of eligibility. Is
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: it your first year? I think. Well, applause for Wilcott.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: First year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame. Congratulations.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: First ballot Hall of Famer loading? Hey, what about.
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: Before I don't even know who's trying to chase Daniel.
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: He's a, for his team's hall of fame, Missouri's hall
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: of fame, right? He's not in it. I'm saying he
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: could be in it. That might be the next one.
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: Cause he's part of the bus with the boy's family.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: That could be an option right there. Yeah, he should
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: absolutely be in it.
- 1:03:06Speaker 8: Yeah, because that was his Bud Light question was getting
- 1:03:09Speaker 8: in the Ring of Honor Hall of Fame there, but
- 1:03:10Speaker 8: he's not eligible because he wasn't a first-team All-American and
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: didn't win a Heisman because he was going up against
- 1:03:16Speaker 8: Tim Tebow.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Crazy. Yeah, he's got to be up there in the Raptors.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he should be in.
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: They got to put him in. But yeah, I think
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: that's as close as we're getting to Hall of Fames.
- 1:03:26Speaker 7: Delaney Walker?
- 1:03:28Speaker 6: Dude, we've talked about this. If Delaney played for a
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: larger media market team when he was balling out.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I think he's a Hall of Famer. He got what,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: three Pro Bowls? Only three, yeah. Yeah, tough for our
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: boy Delaney. Clay is the best option. He's doing the
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: right stuff right now. Getting more on TV, get the
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: face around everywhere, be on stuff so you can start
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: making these pushes.
- 1:03:50Speaker 13: Delaney's got a show now.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Delaney's got a show now.
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: They understand. We want to get in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: We got to start being a part of the media
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: a little bit.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Get it done. Clay did a nice job. I know
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: what I talked about. He did great. You want to
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: hit this one? Go ahead. This is from LukeTC7 five
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: days ago in the YouTube comments. Hashtag Tear Talk. Will
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: we or could we ever see Taylor or Will break
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: down their own film from their playing days and give
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: us some insight on their best moments in the league?
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, we could. I think it's just a
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: time thing. He's been the victim of my tape a
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: couple times.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I've been caught in it. There is a retired
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: tennis player that he does this with his old matches,
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: and his videos nuke, and they're very funny because he'll
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: put up matches that he lost, and he'll have funny
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: commentary on the guys that were making plays. Another lucky
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: for him from this guy. Any other day of the week,
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: I beat him. I feel like there is a lane
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: for it, for both good and bad plays. Yeah.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: I could see Graveyard championing that as well. Like an
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: off-season type thing for Graveyard.
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: Off-season film, just breaking down games.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Breaking down games. We should do a breakdown of our
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Nebraska-Michigan game we played in 2012 and 2011.
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: All the snaps we've played against each other. It's probably
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: like 10 total.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Quick first episode. Quick first episode. Just a little teaser.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Y'all can do like a DVD commentary of it. Just
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: do the audio and then people can go back, watch
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: the game, and then they get to listen to y'all's commentary.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: That could be fun. It could be a good time.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: It's a good idea. No bad ideas in a brainstorm.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: No bad ideas in a brainstorm. Break down my start
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: against Drew Brees. Jack hit me last week on the
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: The stats of that game. That was incredible. I was like, oh,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I balled. And then Jack rattled off the stats. It
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: was like eight tackles. What, two solo? One solo?
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: Yeah, eight tackles, two solos, one PBU.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: He's like, but you said it's a beast of a game.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I was like, I mean, average. Nothing, yeah, nothing. Did
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: you frame it to him like a.
- 1:06:07Speaker 9: That was actually a, that was Chef's idea, but he
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: knew if he asked you that, his cover would have
- 1:06:12Speaker 9: been blown.
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: So two Jacks involved.
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: What was the altercation that took place between you and
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: Chef today? I walked into the shop this morning, we're
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: filming this on Monday, and it's just, the volume's at 10.
- 1:06:24Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: And I just heard something about elite versus not elite.
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: Chef was clearly backed into a corner. Every time Will talked,
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: I could hear a snicker from Klump, like multiple cameras out.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: What was going on this morning?
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: It's got to be balls related. It has to be, right?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: We were talking Oregon football, and Chef had a couple
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: comments where he talked about the roster being overrated because
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: of West Coast kids. He's like, they're a little overrated.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: And then because I was like, Chef, this was their
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: first loss to a non- college football champion that they've
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: ever had. Lanning's been undefeated on the road. And for
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: you to say their roster's been overrated, yeah, they've gotten
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: blown out in the college football playoff, but they've still beaten.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: They've had good wins outside of losing to Ohio State
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: a couple years ago and Indiana last year. And then
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: he made the comment that- Which, by the way, national
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: champion winner, national champion winner. Yeah. And then he made
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: the comment about I want to see them beat a
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: mid-tier team or upper-tier team. And I'm like, dude, what
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: the fuck are you talking about? They beat USC last year.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: They beat Texas Tech. They beat Ohio State at home
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: a couple years ago when it was Ohio State. They
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: beat Penn State in the Big Ten Championship. Yeah, they
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: beat Iowa, and then that's where it started to unravel.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: He was trying to talk about future, like, hey, they
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: have a gauntlet of a schedule this year. We'll get
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: to see them. I'm like, no, no, I'm not arguing
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: about their future, like if they turn around or don't
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: turn around. I'm arguing about these past comments that you've
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: made that they haven't beat anybody. He's like, oh, Iowa's
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: a stretch. And I'm like, dude, what are you talking about?
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Iowa's a stretch. Now you're going to have me arguing
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: for Iowa. Like, Iowa's a tough football team. Year in
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: and year out. And they went into Iowa at Iowa
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: and beat them. USC last year was a good team.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: They beat them.
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm on your side with that. The Iowa thing
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: in my brain, I'm just like, yeah, Iowa really does
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: make you play their game the entire time.
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: But we were kind of going, he's saying, I'm spinning words.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: So then I'm trying to bring Klump because Klump heard
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: the overrated comment. Coleman heard the other ones. Coleman wasn't
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: in the room, but I would have been like, hey,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: did you say this? Yes or no? And he was
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: trying to be like, look, I got a tough schedule
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: this year. That's when I walked in is when you
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: kept saying, did you say this?
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: Yes or no? And he would sit there with a pause.
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: And then he starts to talk and you just repeat yourself.
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: I'd say yes or no. It's a yes or no question. Yeah,
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: because he wouldn't start with yes or no.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: And it was just like, wow, it is Monday, man.
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: It is a Monday morning and it's like 9 a.m.
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: and we're fighting like this.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Football's back. Football's so back right now. I love it.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: We feel good, fellas. Feel great. Let's dive into Joe Thomas, man.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Some of the best... wagyu beef you're going to find
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: out there.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: And just wait till you hear what Joe Thomas will
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: do anything for. Just wait till you hear that. That's something.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Do me a favor. Subscribe. Leave a comment. Big hugs.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Tiny kisses. This segment is sponsored by NFL Sunday Ticket
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: on YouTube TV. Taylor, I don't know about you, but
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: I had four screens, the multi-view going Sunday morning. I
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: was watching the explosive game of the Bills and Texans,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: watching Joe Burrow do his thing with the Bengals, watching
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: the Jets do their thing against the Titans. Also watching...
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars get after the Browns
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: this early slate, this weekend. It's going to be Eagles
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: at Titans. It's going to be Bengals at Texans. It's
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: going to be Vikings at Bears. And it's going to
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: be the Steelers at the Patriots. To me, that's the
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: morning slate. What are you cooking up in the afternoon?
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: Morning slate sounds fantastic. I like the Jags at the Broncos,
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: Raiders at Chargers, Seahawks at the Cardinals, Commanders at Cowboys.
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: Seahawks got to get a bounce back. Cardinals looks really
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: good against the Chargers. Commanders and the Cowboys both looking
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: to get their first wins of the season. I'm excited
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: to watch that showdown.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: And then the Broncos. Bo Nix. What's he going to
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: do in year three of Sean Payton? It's all exciting.
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: And honestly, one of the most underrated games of the weekend.
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: Going to sound crazy to a lot of people. Raiders
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: at Chargers. Raiders at Chargers. What's going to take place there? McDaniels,
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: let's see that play con come together. Herbert, the boys,
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: then Max Crosby, multiple sacks last week. Seems like their
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: defense is really going. I'm excited. I'm not only excited
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: for week two of football, but this afternoon, to me,
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: no one better bother me as I'm watching the multi-view.

- 1:13:05Speaker 6: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Bust with
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: the Boys. Very special episode of Bust with the Boys.
- 1:13:10Speaker 6: We currently sit in Canton, Ohio at the Hall of Fame,
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: sitting with a 2023 inductee. This individual right here could
- 1:13:18Speaker 6: have gone to New York to get drafted, put the
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: fun hat on. Instead, went on a fishing trip with
- 1:13:23Speaker 6: his father, played a consecutive 10,363 snaps only in to
- 1:13:28Speaker 6: go down one time and call it quits after that.
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: And he now wears the gold jacket. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:13:33Speaker 6: Joe Thomas.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Former Badger. Thanks for being here, guys. Former podcaster. Former podcaster.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: That's right. There's a piece of Hawk out there watching
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: right now. Yeah.
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: You know Hawk's sick about it. You guys had a
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: gold mine. Hawk probably hits him up.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: We launched. Hey, did you see Buzz and that could
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: have been. I was one of their guests on the
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Tomahawk show.
- 1:13:50Speaker 12: How about our first, I think our first three guests
- 1:13:51Speaker 12: were you, Travis, Kelsey, and Pat McAfee.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: What you just decided you don't want to do that.
- 1:14:00Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:14:00Speaker 12: So I got into my farming and the beef business
- 1:14:03Speaker 12: and was in the media world outside of just doing podcasting. Uh,
- 1:14:07Speaker 12: and then he's got his video game empire that he's
- 1:14:09Speaker 12: working on and also doing ESPN. So we just got
- 1:14:12Speaker 12: super busy with like other areas. And it was right
- 1:14:14Speaker 12: when podcasts was still like kind of getting going and
- 1:14:18Speaker 12: we just kind of decided, Hey, we won't be able
- 1:14:19Speaker 12: to do it in person.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: And if we want to have a great podcast, you
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: really got to do it in person. Yeah, the boys
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: got to be together. Chemistry is everything. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: You brought up something very quickly as I was introing
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: Sweet Joe.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Wisconsin. Went to Wisconsin. Former Badger. Big year for Wisconsin Badgers.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Big one. How dialed are you into the school? Are
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: you following? Are you in the Reddit threads? No, no, no.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: I'm not deep into it.
- 1:14:44Speaker 12: I'm not watching the recruiting and the NIL and who's
- 1:14:47Speaker 12: here and stuff, but I'm a huge fan. Obviously, I
- 1:14:50Speaker 12: want the program to succeed. I've got a lot of
- 1:14:52Speaker 12: friends in the coaching staff, know some of the players.
- 1:14:54Speaker 12: So I want them to win as much as anybody.
- 1:14:57Speaker 12: But I don't get into the weeds, but you're right.
- 1:14:59Speaker 12: This is the make or break year for Fickle, right?
- 1:15:01Speaker 12: He's got the money finally with NIL. They brought in
- 1:15:04Speaker 12: a bunch of dudes in the transfer portal. They kind
- 1:15:06Speaker 12: of flipped the roster with the money they had. They
- 1:15:08Speaker 12: were able to actually get the guys they targeted. And
- 1:15:10Speaker 12: now it's kind of like, hey, you got what you wanted.
- 1:15:13Speaker 12: Now you got to make it happen.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: They brought in Sean Eichurst. Brought in Sean Eichorst. Former Husker.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Former Husker. Kind of burned it down in Lincoln.
- 1:15:19Speaker 12: Yeah, I know that the feelings in Nebraska are probably
- 1:15:22Speaker 12: not as strong. They're not feeling jealous that we hired him,
- 1:15:25Speaker 12: but we're hoping that.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Yeah, when we saw Eichorst go across the headline like
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: he's going to Wisconsin, we're just rallying our friends from
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Wisconsin like, hey, buddy, this is not good from the
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: experience that we had. Well, hopefully the experience is different
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: in Wisconsin. Eichorst came in, Bo was gone the next year,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: so there could be... Listen, I'm not going to try
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: to put bad vibes in the air. Good luck to
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: you guys this year. I do hope you, you know,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: you guys go down though. Well, you know what I mean?
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Not really. Good luck to you guys. You guys owned
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: us when we played. So yeah.
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: What do you, um, what was the decision process in
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: not going to the NFL draft?
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: So many guys, they dream about it. They want to
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: do it. And you ended up just on a fishing
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: boat with your dad. It was an easy decision for me.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Kind of a PR move.
- 1:16:09Speaker 12: Well, it was an anti PR move at that time,
- 1:16:13Speaker 12: but now it turns out like, that's what people still
- 1:16:14Speaker 12: talk about.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Had I gone, Nobody would be talking about it, right?
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: That's just what you do.
- 1:16:18Speaker 12: But at the time, I really wasn't interested in like
- 1:16:22Speaker 12: leaving my family that day, to be totally honest, because
- 1:16:24Speaker 12: as you know, you get drafted and then world changes.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Boom.
- 1:16:27Speaker 12: Overnight, they fly you to wherever you get drafted. It's
- 1:16:29Speaker 12: like mini camps and media. And like, you're basically into
- 1:16:32Speaker 12: the NFL season right away. I didn't have a suit.
- 1:16:35Speaker 12: So I didn't want to have to like buy a suit,
- 1:16:36Speaker 12: go out to New York. And I saw these guys
- 1:16:38Speaker 12: like a couple of years before Aaron Rodgers. And then
- 1:16:41Speaker 12: my year, Brady Quinn, like they're out there sweating with
- 1:16:44Speaker 12: a bunch of people that they've never met. you know,
- 1:16:46Speaker 12: hugging a bunch of like Goodell and all these guys.
- 1:16:48Speaker 12: Like I didn't grow up dreaming and watching the NFL draft.
- 1:16:51Speaker 12: So that wasn't a moment I dreamed of. I dreamed
- 1:16:53Speaker 12: of playing in the NFL. And to me, the draft
- 1:16:57Speaker 12: is just kind of a big show about, Hey, here's
- 1:17:00Speaker 12: your test results. This is where you get to go
- 1:17:02Speaker 12: play next year. And so it was never a big
- 1:17:04Speaker 12: thing in my mind. And I was much happier to
- 1:17:06Speaker 12: just go fish with my dad, do something I'd done
- 1:17:08Speaker 12: since I was a little kid on Saturdays on Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- 1:17:13Speaker 12: And then, you know what, they'll tell me where I'm
- 1:17:14Speaker 12: drafted and I don't have to be part of all
- 1:17:16Speaker 12: that circus. And then I can go just put my
- 1:17:18Speaker 12: head down and get to work.
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: It's like the most offensive line thing of all time.
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: Like going fishing with your dad sounds incredible. The day
- 1:17:25Speaker 6: you're waking up for the draft though, are you checking
- 1:17:28Speaker 6: the phone a little more than usual? Are you getting
- 1:17:30Speaker 6: a little more excited?
- 1:17:31Speaker 12: So the only person I was checking the phone was
- 1:17:33Speaker 12: from my agent because back then I had like the
- 1:17:35Speaker 12: Motorola flip phone.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Cell service wasn't great.
- 1:17:38Speaker 12: And he was just worried that the team wouldn't be
- 1:17:40Speaker 12: able to call me before they drafted me.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Which is a big no, no.
- 1:17:43Speaker 12: Like they want to be able to talk to you
- 1:17:45Speaker 12: to make sure, Hey, I know you probably had a
- 1:17:46Speaker 12: big party last night.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Did you get arrested?
- 1:17:48Speaker 12: You know, did you hurt yourself stepping off the curb
- 1:17:51Speaker 12: when you were drunk or something like that? You know,
- 1:17:52Speaker 12: has your status changed? And they want to congratulate you.
- 1:17:55Speaker 12: You'd be the first one. So he was checking in,
- 1:17:57Speaker 12: making sure we weren't fishing too far away.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: From the cell tower. Yeah. When you're going into that
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: rookie year or going into training camp for the first time,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: like mentality wise, where were you at? Like, did you
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: have nerves going into your first camp or first game?
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Or were you somebody that had a mentality of kind
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: of knowing that you were going to be dominant?
- 1:18:14Speaker 12: There was a big imposter syndrome that carried with me college, NFL,
- 1:18:18Speaker 12: like forever. I was always thinking that people think I'm
- 1:18:21Speaker 12: better than I really am. So I better be freaking
- 1:18:23Speaker 12: ready to go because they're going to try to expose
- 1:18:25Speaker 12: me at any moment. So I was nervous. I carried
- 1:18:28Speaker 12: those nerves almost all the way through my career. Even
- 1:18:31Speaker 12: you play against some slapdick. I'm like, damn, I watched
- 1:18:34Speaker 12: like his sack cut ups and I'm like, shit, he's
- 1:18:36Speaker 12: going to be able to beat me with this move.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I better be on my shit.
- 1:18:38Speaker 12: Because as you know, we're judged not by the great plays,
- 1:18:41Speaker 12: not by the pancakes. Like we're judged by that one
- 1:18:44Speaker 12: play that you got beat. yeah and the guy cut
- 1:18:46Speaker 12: your quarterback in half and they carried him off the
- 1:18:48Speaker 12: field in the stretcher and the guys in japan are
- 1:18:50Speaker 12: booing your name because you fucked up one play maybe
- 1:18:53Speaker 12: you had 68 amazing perfect plays but you better be
- 1:18:56Speaker 12: on like a bodyguard right you are protecting the president
- 1:18:59Speaker 12: behind you you got to be 100 and i think
- 1:19:01Speaker 12: you have to play on that razor's edge mentally to
- 1:19:04Speaker 12: be ready at any moment Yeah, you.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Blocked for a lot of presidences. One or more. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: A lot of guys.
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: When did the imposter syndrome start to fade? Because me
- 1:19:17Speaker 6: watching you when I first get in the NFL and
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: it's like, who's the guy? You got like Trent Williams
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: and you, Andrew Whitworth. Those are the guys everyone's looking at.
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: But it was clear like- you want to watch a guy,
- 1:19:26Speaker 6: the most consistent guy in the NFL. It's always Joe Thomas.
- 1:19:29Speaker 6: And it never seemed, you never seem panicked in a set.
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: It was amazing to me that you would just do
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: sets and they look the exact same every single time.
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: And guys would try all different kinds of moves and
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: the result would be the same thing. Like they would
- 1:19:41Speaker 6: just be stopped right then and there. Like, How did
- 1:19:44Speaker 6: you kind of get rid of those nerves? And then
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: when did they start to like kind of fade away
- 1:19:48Speaker 6: a little bit? So you're like, okay, maybe I am
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: who everyone thinks I am.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I am pretty.
- 1:19:53Speaker 12: So it's cool. I get to coach my kids now.
- 1:19:55Speaker 12: I got 11, 13, 10 and seven coaching them in sports.
- 1:20:00Speaker 12: And I always tell them like, it's okay to be nervous.
- 1:20:02Speaker 12: Don't be afraid of nerves because nerves focuses your central
- 1:20:05Speaker 12: nervous system, your mind, you're able to focus on the
- 1:20:07Speaker 12: detail and then you don't skip over anything. You know,
- 1:20:10Speaker 12: if you're going into something and you're not feeling nervous,
- 1:20:12Speaker 12: a little overconfident, you might not have that energy and
- 1:20:14Speaker 12: that focus. So nerves are good, but you don't want
- 1:20:16Speaker 12: them to go too far where it scrambles your brain
- 1:20:19Speaker 12: then and you're scattered and you're all over the place.
- 1:20:21Speaker 12: So for me, yoga honestly was really big. I got
- 1:20:24Speaker 12: into it early in my NFL career and it really
- 1:20:27Speaker 12: helped me understand like the mindset and the mental approach,
- 1:20:29Speaker 12: the breathing techniques to kind of bring your CNS down
- 1:20:32Speaker 12: to be in that perfect. I'm a little bit nervous.
- 1:20:35Speaker 12: I'm on an edge, but I'm not too much where
- 1:20:36Speaker 12: my brain is scattered. So Just using a lot of
- 1:20:39Speaker 12: those mindfulness techniques really helped me when you're going against
- 1:20:41Speaker 12: a guy like Dwight Freeney. You know, it's all of
- 1:20:43Speaker 12: a sudden fourth quarter, third and 10 games on the line.
- 1:20:47Speaker 12: It's easy to panic, but it's like, no, go back
- 1:20:49Speaker 12: to my training, breath work, eyes closed, focus on what
- 1:20:53Speaker 12: I have to do and visualize what this dude is
- 1:20:55Speaker 12: going to try to do to me.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: So you're a split second quicker to react when he
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: does it. So you're out there nasal breathing. A little bit. Ujjayi. Yeah.
- 1:21:04Speaker 12: Like if you see me on the sideline, especially the
- 1:21:06Speaker 12: last half of my career, because then the coach wasn't
- 1:21:08Speaker 12: trying to pester me on the sideline. I would usually
- 1:21:10Speaker 12: just be sitting there with my eyes closed because I
- 1:21:12Speaker 12: was trying to take the visual stimulus out in between plays,
- 1:21:16Speaker 12: get your.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: Body into that rest and digest, try.
- 1:21:18Speaker 12: To recover in between and not worry about like the
- 1:21:20Speaker 12: stuff that doesn't matter, like what the defense does or
- 1:21:23Speaker 12: what the coach is saying.
- 1:21:24Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:21:24Speaker 12: That's just a distraction to me on game day. On
- 1:21:26Speaker 12: game day, I'm just thinking about my job. How do
- 1:21:28Speaker 12: I do my job? what could happen to me when
- 1:21:30Speaker 12: I walked through the line of scrimmage.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: That's so funny. I was the exact opposite. Yeah, I
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: know the personalities. I would ride the coaster ride of
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: the ups and downs. I'm like, oh shit. Waving the towel,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: going bananas. Let's go.
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: Exactly. Was there somebody like early in your career that
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: kind of put you on to the yoga, the breath work,
- 1:21:47Speaker 6: understanding the CNS, all those things that were like, hey,
- 1:21:51Speaker 6: these are the things you can control in the middle
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: of what people call battle.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: On the game?
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:55Speaker 12: So really my third year, Eric Mangini was our head coach.
- 1:21:58Speaker 12: He brought in like MMA trainers. We brought in like
- 1:22:01Speaker 12: Pilates people and he brought in a local yoga studio
- 1:22:04Speaker 12: from Cleveland, Inner Bliss Yoga. And that's where I got
- 1:22:08Speaker 12: introduced to it. And then I just started practicing in
- 1:22:10Speaker 12: their studio. And really that was the entry point. And
- 1:22:13Speaker 12: then later on in my career, we brought in the
- 1:22:15Speaker 12: Navy SEALs for a couple of years. And then we
- 1:22:17Speaker 12: brought in like a breath work mindfulness expert that we'd
- 1:22:20Speaker 12: have like every Monday morning meetings with them. And that's
- 1:22:23Speaker 12: when we really dove into that side of it, which
- 1:22:25Speaker 12: was pretty awesome. You were bringing up Dwight Freeney a
- 1:22:28Speaker 12: little bit ago. Who was the pass rusher that you
- 1:22:31Speaker 12: felt like had the most success against you? Freeney, the
- 1:22:34Speaker 12: first time I played him. I had a great strategy,
- 1:22:38Speaker 12: but I got him back later. Don't worry, don't worry.
- 1:22:40Speaker 12: We got him back. I learned a lot from that one.
- 1:22:42Speaker 12: But as you guys know, the spin move was deadly.
- 1:22:45Speaker 12: And I went into that game, I was very game
- 1:22:46Speaker 12: plan specific versus everybody I played against. So I was
- 1:22:50Speaker 12: going to slightly tweak my set and like how I
- 1:22:53Speaker 12: got off the line of scrimmage based on their moves. Like,
- 1:22:55Speaker 12: so Frini, I said, I do not want to get
- 1:22:57Speaker 12: beat inside on this dude. I know he can run
- 1:22:59Speaker 12: around me, but I'm fast enough to catch up if
- 1:23:01Speaker 12: he commits. But if he spins, I won't be quick
- 1:23:03Speaker 12: enough to react. So I wanted to be super square
- 1:23:06Speaker 12: and I wanted to really like set heavy on my inside,
- 1:23:10Speaker 12: waiting for that spin so I could catch that spin.
- 1:23:12Speaker 12: But the problem is Dwight Frini also watches film and
- 1:23:15Speaker 12: he was waiting at the end of the game. And
- 1:23:17Speaker 12: I think it was like third or fourth quarter. He
- 1:23:19Speaker 12: tried to spin, tried to spin, didn't work, didn't work.
- 1:23:21Speaker 12: Tried to run around the edge, didn't work. And then
- 1:23:23Speaker 12: he went like he was going to spin and he
- 1:23:25Speaker 12: turned it into a bull rush. And you know, he's
- 1:23:27Speaker 12: like six foot 280, runs a four six. And so
- 1:23:30Speaker 12: he got under my pads and like pushed me into
- 1:23:31Speaker 12: the quarterback. Quarterback was not a very mobile quarterback at
- 1:23:34Speaker 12: the time, Derek Anderson. And so he wasn't able to
- 1:23:37Speaker 12: get out of the pocket, kind of forced the sack.
- 1:23:40Speaker 12: Used me to push me into the quarterback, which is
- 1:23:43Speaker 12: like the worst feeling ever. Because you just can't do.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: Anything about it. And you're like, oh God, come on,
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: get rid of the ball, right?
- 1:23:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:23:49Speaker 12: Um, but then from that point on, I learned. So
- 1:23:52Speaker 12: then the next time I played in my set with
- 1:23:53Speaker 12: a little width, so then I knew in my mind,
- 1:23:55Speaker 12: if I can get a half a yard of width
- 1:23:57Speaker 12: in my set, I can take away the spin.
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: I can take away the upfield with my feet.
- 1:24:01Speaker 12: And then if he tries to bowl, I got an
- 1:24:03Speaker 12: extra step to hop and then I can shut it down.
- 1:24:05Speaker 12: Whereas if you're truly vertical, you don't have that extra space.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: You're just waxing poetic right now. Yeah. Just the way
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: he's breaking down everything is getting a little chubby. Absolutely.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: I really am, man.
- 1:24:18Speaker 6: Cause it's like, Getting able to play guys consistently and
- 1:24:21Speaker 6: like fine tune small moves that you do, you think
- 1:24:25Speaker 6: are just the biggest thing in the world. But then
- 1:24:27Speaker 6: to somebody who's just watching the game, it looks the
- 1:24:28Speaker 6: exact same as it had been forever with all the
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: quarterbacks that you've blocked for. Who was the one that
- 1:24:36Speaker 6: you were like? I'm most excited about this. This is
- 1:24:38Speaker 6: the one that's going to really turn the.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns around. You're assuming that happened. Exactly.
- 1:24:44Speaker 6: Because there was also, I mean, I don't know if
- 1:24:47Speaker 6: this is a true story or not, but there was
- 1:24:49Speaker 6: a rumor about you getting traded and then you being
- 1:24:52Speaker 6: like at the last second, they put it in late
- 1:24:54Speaker 6: so you didn't have to go. Those are two totally
- 1:24:56Speaker 6: different stories. But from a quarterback standpoint, you said over 20.
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: What was one guy you were like, We've got a
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: shot here. This segment is brought to you by Jack

- 1:25:45Speaker 1: Back to the episode.
- 1:25:46Speaker 12: When you're a young player, as you guys know, you
- 1:25:48Speaker 12: believe in everybody that you got around you, right?
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Especially coming from college.
- 1:25:52Speaker 12: Everybody you're playing with is way better than the dudes
- 1:25:54Speaker 12: you had around you in college. So Derek Anderson actually
- 1:25:57Speaker 12: made the Pro Bowl my rookie year in Cleveland. So
- 1:26:00Speaker 12: I thought, hey, we won 10 games as a rookie.
- 1:26:02Speaker 12: Year two, we got Derek Anderson. He's the starter now
- 1:26:05Speaker 12: the whole year. I was thinking we're going to roll it, like.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: Roll it up.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: All right, we're going to win the division. No problem.
- 1:26:10Speaker 12: We'll just see what happens in the playoffs. But of course,
- 1:26:13Speaker 12: it's the NFL injuries, ineffectiveness. People start to figure out
- 1:26:16Speaker 12: a little bit. But still after that, like we signed
- 1:26:19Speaker 12: Jake DeLombe. after he left the Panthers, you know, he'd
- 1:26:22Speaker 12: been to a Superbowl. So I thought there was a chance,
- 1:26:24Speaker 12: you know, but he was kind of on the backside
- 1:26:26Speaker 12: of his career. And then we had a bunch of
- 1:26:28Speaker 12: first round draft choices, you know, Brandon Whedon and Johnny Manziel.
- 1:26:31Speaker 12: And I'm not sure I really like believe that they
- 1:26:34Speaker 12: were going to be the guys when we drafted them
- 1:26:36Speaker 12: because they weren't that dude in college where everyone said,
- 1:26:39Speaker 12: Oh yeah, he's going to be a stud in the NFL.
- 1:26:41Speaker 12: But you know, you gave him a chance in your
- 1:26:43Speaker 12: mind and, Until they proved you differently.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: There's probably a level of pessimism that took place too
- 1:26:48Speaker 6: later in your career. Like Whedon, he was like 26
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: as a rookie. And then Johnny, obviously there's all the
- 1:26:54Speaker 6: off the field stuff. You're like, is this guy going
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: to be able to focus in?
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: Was there ever a time in your career too? Because
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: obviously you played it all with the Browns where just
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: in your mind, it's like, we're the Browns. We're probably
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: not going to have the best season.
- 1:27:06Speaker 12: So year 10.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: We're doing another year of this, aren't we? Yeah, year 10.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: He hears a lot of young guys feeling optimistic and
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: Joe's just like, listen guys, I've been around the block.
- 1:27:15Speaker 12: I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, but the way
- 1:27:17Speaker 12: I entered every season was like, if I need to
- 1:27:19Speaker 12: get the most out of myself, I got to convince
- 1:27:21Speaker 12: myself this is a Super Bowl roster. Like that's the
- 1:27:23Speaker 12: mentality I have to have when I'm training, when I'm practicing,
- 1:27:26Speaker 12: when I'm going through film study. And so you trick
- 1:27:28Speaker 12: yourself every year, but after a while, like you're not
- 1:27:31Speaker 12: that dumb anymore. So, you know, going into year 10,
- 1:27:34Speaker 12: we had like traded away the first overall pick. We
- 1:27:36Speaker 12: were trading guys away, saving capital for the future. And
- 1:27:40Speaker 12: the writing was on the wall that we were in
- 1:27:42Speaker 12: a pretty significant rebuild. And I kind of knew at
- 1:27:45Speaker 12: that time, even though I was still trying to trick myself,
- 1:27:48Speaker 12: you know, in the back of your head, you're not
- 1:27:49Speaker 12: going to be any good. And then about midway through
- 1:27:52Speaker 12: that 10th season, we were playing the Patriots. Tom Brady
- 1:27:55Speaker 12: comes to town. And I fucking hated Tom Brady as
- 1:27:57Speaker 12: everybody did in the league. I hated the Patriots. I
- 1:27:59Speaker 12: just wanted to smash him so bad. Had myself convinced
- 1:28:02Speaker 12: this was the game plan. Like we're going to, you know,
- 1:28:05Speaker 12: line up two tight ends. We're going to run duo.
- 1:28:07Speaker 12: We're just going to smash him because we can't throw
- 1:28:08Speaker 12: the ball.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:28:09Speaker 12: We know that's not going to happen, but at least
- 1:28:11Speaker 12: we can put it on our shoulders up front. And
- 1:28:14Speaker 12: they played like a six one. So they played a
- 1:28:16Speaker 12: totally different front than what we've seen, which sucks against
- 1:28:18Speaker 12: duo because you don't have double teams anymore.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: And we had no, second pitch, right? We lost like
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: 30 to zero.
- 1:28:24Speaker 12: And I remember sitting in the car after the game
- 1:28:26Speaker 12: and I was just like crying and I had ice
- 1:28:29Speaker 12: on both elbows, knees, you know, I was in pain
- 1:28:32Speaker 12: and my wife was driving and I was just looking
- 1:28:34Speaker 12: out the window. And I just, it was that moment
- 1:28:36Speaker 12: where I realized I've been kind of fooling myself for
- 1:28:38Speaker 12: a while and we were not going to win no
- 1:28:41Speaker 12: matter what I did and my wife being a great
- 1:28:44Speaker 12: wife understanding like hey if he has a bad game
- 1:28:46Speaker 12: he probably doesn't want to talk about it on the
- 1:28:47Speaker 12: drive home right she sees my emotions so she's thinking
- 1:28:50Speaker 12: I better leave this alone but it just went on
- 1:28:53Speaker 12: a lot longer than usual and she finally said are
- 1:28:55Speaker 12: you okay did you have like a bad game and
- 1:28:58Speaker 12: then the tears really came because I said I played
- 1:29:00Speaker 12: a perfect game and we lost by 30. And it
- 1:29:04Speaker 12: really sunk in at that moment that you don't control
- 1:29:06Speaker 12: the situation anymore. And like that feeling of a loss
- 1:29:09Speaker 12: of control is really hard. No matter what situation you're
- 1:29:11Speaker 12: in in life, it just feels like everything I'm working for,
- 1:29:14Speaker 12: I have no control over the outcome and that's a
- 1:29:17Speaker 12: bad feeling. And so I ended up meeting with the
- 1:29:19Speaker 12: team psychologist and just talking to somebody about it because
- 1:29:23Speaker 12: it had been like, you know, almost 10 years built
- 1:29:25Speaker 12: up to that moment where you just came to the realization,
- 1:29:28Speaker 12: like I'm kind of fooling myself and, we're not that
- 1:29:31Speaker 12: team and we really don't have a chance and I
- 1:29:33Speaker 12: don't impact this game the way I'd hoped.
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: Did you, was there a moment there where you're like,
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: maybe I should go somewhere else? Right. Like how long
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: did you play?
- 1:29:42Speaker 12: I played 11 years. So I was already kind of
- 1:29:44Speaker 12: towards the end of my career. And I, at that
- 1:29:46Speaker 12: point I was not practicing cause my knee was real
- 1:29:48Speaker 12: messed up.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: You were the Ferrari. Yeah.
- 1:29:49Speaker 12: I was on Sundays. And so the option of like
- 1:29:53Speaker 12: going and playing somewhere else wasn't really in my mind
- 1:29:55Speaker 12: at that point. It was just like, how do I
- 1:29:57Speaker 12: finish my career strong here in Cleveland? How do I,
- 1:30:00Speaker 12: you know, come to terms with the situation, but still
- 1:30:02Speaker 12: make the most of it.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Was there ever a moment you wanted to go somewhere else?
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: There never was. Or you were bringing up a trade thing. Yeah,
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: so there never was like a moment where I did. 2015, right,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: is the year I heard that you were the Broncos. Exactly.
- 1:30:13Speaker 12: So it was the year the Broncos won the Super Bowl.
- 1:30:17Speaker 12: Ryan Clady was their Pro Bowl left tackle. They had
- 1:30:19Speaker 12: the team to win it, which they ended up winning.
- 1:30:21Speaker 12: But Peyton was getting older and was needing protection on
- 1:30:26Speaker 12: the left side.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: And so.
- 1:30:28Speaker 12: the Broncos and Elway reached out to the Browns and
- 1:30:30Speaker 12: we're trying to get a deal done like a couple
- 1:30:32Speaker 12: of weeks before the trade deadline.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Cause Clady got hurt during the season.
- 1:30:36Speaker 6: I'm sorry to interrupt you, but how involved are you
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: in those conversations? Are you just like agents handling?
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: Agents handling.
- 1:30:41Speaker 12: Like for me, I was like, I got enough to
- 1:30:43Speaker 12: worry about just trying to do my job and whatever
- 1:30:46Speaker 12: happens happens.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: It was sort of like the mentality I took.
- 1:30:48Speaker 12: Um, but I mean, I was ready for it if
- 1:30:50Speaker 12: they were going to trade me to be able to,
- 1:30:52Speaker 12: you know, jump in and try to be the best
- 1:30:54Speaker 12: version of myself in Denver. Um, and it got close
- 1:30:57Speaker 12: and it actually got to the trade deadline where I
- 1:30:59Speaker 12: went out to practice because the deadline's like Tuesday or Wednesday.
- 1:31:02Speaker 12: It's like somewhere in there. And I remember going out
- 1:31:04Speaker 12: to practice thinking like, well, they might pull me off
- 1:31:07Speaker 12: the field today and tell me I've been traded. Um,
- 1:31:09Speaker 12: or at least it's over. Cause it started being stressful.
- 1:31:12Speaker 12: Cause we're getting asked about it every single day, but
- 1:31:14Speaker 12: I was hands off. My agent was really trying to
- 1:31:16Speaker 12: push me like. hey, buddy, these guys are probably going
- 1:31:19Speaker 12: to win the Super Bowl. It's pretty nice. His office
- 1:31:21Speaker 12: is in Denver. You know, sending me pictures of the mountains.
- 1:31:24Speaker 12: But I was like, you know, even though we're not
- 1:31:27Speaker 12: very good right now, I still had dreams of being
- 1:31:29Speaker 12: part of building something great, which would have been super special.
- 1:31:32Speaker 12: I mean, the fan base in Cleveland is second to none.
- 1:31:34Speaker 12: They've got no Super Bowl appearances. It would be so
- 1:31:37Speaker 12: cool to be able to do it in the place
- 1:31:38Speaker 12: that you get drafted. So I still had that dream
- 1:31:41Speaker 12: and that vision, but also the reality of I don't
- 1:31:43Speaker 12: have a no trade clause, so I don't really have
- 1:31:45Speaker 12: control and what happens. And so if it happens great,
- 1:31:48Speaker 12: if not, I'm just going.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: To worry about my job. And then it just didn't happen.
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: You never went to the, because the story I heard
- 1:31:54Speaker 6: was you ended up going to the GM of the Browns,
- 1:31:56Speaker 6: like towards the end, be like, please don't do this.
- 1:31:58Speaker 6: Like the trade, the trade essentially was done and.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: You're like, don't do it.
- 1:32:02Speaker 6: And so he sent in the trade acceptance letter or
- 1:32:05Speaker 6: whatever you have to do. at 5.15 Eastern when the
- 1:32:08Speaker 6: deadline was five, so I actually couldn't go through. Is
- 1:32:10Speaker 6: there any truth to that at all?
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: I don't know about the weeds of that.
- 1:32:13Speaker 12: You'd probably have to talk to the guys behind there.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: But you didn't say anything to the GM.
- 1:32:16Speaker 12: So the only maybe truth that I know about that
- 1:32:19Speaker 12: is the week before that happened, I'm watching Sunday Night Football,
- 1:32:23Speaker 12: just laying in bed after a game with the wife,
- 1:32:25Speaker 12: and I get a call from an unknown number, but
- 1:32:28Speaker 12: it was Denver. And I was like, I don't usually
- 1:32:31Speaker 12: answer my phone after a game, but I'm like.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: This is weird.
- 1:32:33Speaker 12: So I answered it, and it's Peyton. and he'd had
- 1:32:37Speaker 12: my number from being out of pro bowls and stuff.
- 1:32:39Speaker 12: He's like, Hey buddy, this is your, your drinking buddy
- 1:32:42Speaker 12: from the pro bowl.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: You know, you know, his voice. I'm like, Oh wow,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: this is Peyton. I'm like the sheriff. I'm like, yeah,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: this is Peyton. He's gone.
- 1:32:50Speaker 12: And, uh, yeah, like Manning, Peyton Manning, you know, not
- 1:32:53Speaker 12: Peyton Manning, Peyton Manning.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: And I, I was like, okay, yeah. What's up?
- 1:32:58Speaker 12: He's like, well, Hey, listen, we lost our left tackle.
- 1:33:00Speaker 12: I really want you to block for me, but the
- 1:33:03Speaker 12: Browns are worried. Like, You're kind of their franchise. They
- 1:33:06Speaker 12: love you over there. We got a fair deal on
- 1:33:09Speaker 12: the table, but Elway's telling me it's not going to
- 1:33:11Speaker 12: get done unless you go up in your GM's office
- 1:33:13Speaker 12: and tell him you want to be traded.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: And I was like, well, that's a.
- 1:33:16Speaker 12: Pretty difficult thing to turn down. I said, but you
- 1:33:19Speaker 12: know what? It's hard to imagine.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: I am happy in Cleveland. I love it here.
- 1:33:22Speaker 12: If the deal gets done on its own merit, great.
- 1:33:25Speaker 12: If not, like I'm not willing to try to force
- 1:33:27Speaker 12: a trade.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: And he goes, all right, how about this?
- 1:33:28Speaker 10: He's like, go up into Ray Farmer's office. He's like,
- 1:33:31Speaker 10: when he's not there, of course. pull your pants down,
- 1:33:34Speaker 10: take a squat, take a shit on his desk. That
- 1:33:36Speaker 10: way you don't have to say anything about it, but
- 1:33:39Speaker 10: he has to trade you at that point. Of course,
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: I got a good laugh out of that one. I
- 1:33:42Speaker 10: was like, I'll consider it, Peyton.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: I appreciate that. He's like, all right, man. Well, see
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: you in Denver next week. That's wild.
- 1:33:49Speaker 12: Never did drop a deuce in Berea on my GM's desk.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Missed opportunities.
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: Things you look back on in your career and you
- 1:33:57Speaker 6: have a little bit of regrets. A couple of regrets
- 1:33:59Speaker 6: taking a shit on your GM's desk.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: Is that one you think about and you're like, I
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: kind of should have went to the GM's office.
- 1:34:06Speaker 12: I'm not sure that you get arrested for that. in
- 1:34:09Speaker 12: that certain situation, that's a once in a lifetime chance.
- 1:34:11Speaker 12: If I do it now, we're leaving in handcuffs.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:34:16Speaker 6: Or the whole city of Cleveland's like, Joe did it right,
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: he knew. He's probably mad about something. What is your
- 1:34:22Speaker 6: biggest regret of your NFL career?
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: I mean, not ever playing in the playoffs. Yeah, that's, yeah.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: It does have to suck knowing just how good you were.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: You're just known as one of the greatest players in
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: your position to ever do it and just never being
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: on a quality enough team to be in the playoffs. Yeah,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: it sucks. I think in a weird way, in a
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: weird way.
- 1:34:42Speaker 12: And they, it was always my brain, like, you know,
- 1:34:48Speaker 12: changing the perspective, the outlook, right. To try to be
- 1:34:51Speaker 12: the best version of myself, you know, it's corny, but
- 1:34:53Speaker 12: I'm always thinking like, well, because we sucked, I had
- 1:34:56Speaker 12: even more pressure on me, right. Played with crappy quarterbacks,
- 1:35:00Speaker 12: bad teams, always in two minute. Like I got a
- 1:35:02Speaker 12: lot of reps in really, really hard situations throughout my
- 1:35:05Speaker 12: entire career. And the pressure was never off. I could never,
- 1:35:08Speaker 12: you know, relax. I could never be the guy on
- 1:35:10Speaker 12: the sideline like Luan, you know, spinning the towel.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: Like, yeah, we're up by 30. Yeah, let's go, fans.
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: Let's hear you. I don't think we're ever up by 30.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: We're not once. The 9-7, the AFC Championship, brother. You
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: guys were humble. Average number 30 in games. Joe? Mm-hmm. Yeah,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: averaging over 30 a game. Yeah. Even the next year.
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: Yeah, there definitely was a bit of my personality. I
- 1:35:33Speaker 6: feel like a lot of offensive linemen were like, you
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: need to stop doing that shit.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: There's a couple of guys that kind of felt like, hey,
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: quit with the bullshit.
- 1:35:39Speaker 12: No, I loved it because not all of us are
- 1:35:41Speaker 12: like that. And not all of us can get away
- 1:35:43Speaker 12: with it. But you were like the shining star, the
- 1:35:45Speaker 12: guy that could hold personality for.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: All of us. Oh, take that. The rebel. That's a
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: big time, dude.
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: One of my favorite moments of my entire career was
- 1:35:53Speaker 6: in 2016, making my first Pro Bowl. and sitting on
- 1:35:56Speaker 6: the bus like as we go to the first practice
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: i'm so nervous and i'm just kind of looking to
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: make friends like i'm just like this is incredible i
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: get to sit here and the two tackles that are
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: with me are joe and andrew whitworth like two guys
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: that are married established like hall of fame hall of
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: fame guys and i just remember sitting with you guys
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: and you guys are joking around had a couple beers
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: the night before i got a good night's sleep just
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: in case we have to do two days or something
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: like that i was nervous and i like sit there
- 1:36:20Speaker 6: i'm like hey, so we all, all three of us
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: play left tackle. Like, what is the game plan? Is
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: it like, we kind of go, left, right, out. Or like,
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: how do you guys want to do this? And they
- 1:36:30Speaker 6: both just kind of laughing. Joe's like, you're playing right
- 1:36:33Speaker 6: tackle the entire game.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: And I was like, are you sure?
- 1:36:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Me and Andrew, we're rotating.
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: I left. You got right tackle a lot.
- 1:36:41Speaker 12: That's a compliment.
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: We trust you out there, right? Trust me out there. Yeah.
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: But it was, it was one of those moments.
- 1:36:47Speaker 6: It's like one of my favorite moments of my entire career,
- 1:36:49Speaker 6: getting to sit with you guys on the bus and
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: be like, yeah, this is awesome.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: Look at these two studs. Yeah. Bus rides were the best. Yeah.
- 1:36:56Speaker 6: The bus, the bus rides were, We're all time, man.
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: I had a question, but then I got nostalgic and forgot.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: What it was. Knowing how far removed you are from
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: it now, how often do you still think about your
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: playing days?
- 1:37:11Speaker 12: It's vivid memories all across the board. Like I can
- 1:37:13Speaker 12: remember specific plays. I can remember meetings, film study, but
- 1:37:18Speaker 12: I don't think about it a lot on a daily basis.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: I apply it to like the media stuff I'm doing.
- 1:37:23Speaker 12: And that's when I think about those things. But It's
- 1:37:25Speaker 12: been like eight years since I played now. So it's
- 1:37:28Speaker 12: been a long time and there's a lot that's happened
- 1:37:30Speaker 12: in life since then.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: You guys still think about your playing days? We were
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: just talking about it. You have a podcast that allows
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: you to do that. That's literally all you do. I
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: did have a YouTube. I was like, go ahead and
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: check this out for Michigan State. A lot more college
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: talk it feels like as of recent for us.
- 1:37:47Speaker 6: Cause we definitely got off the bus like 10 minutes
- 1:37:49Speaker 6: ago and we're just talking about like 2012, 2011, Michigan
- 1:37:52Speaker 6: or something like that.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: But you definitely, uh, you refer to it way more
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: like when you're just getting out of the league, cause
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: you still know a lot of the guys in the
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: league and now being removed from it for, I don't
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: know how many years now it's like the farther you
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: get away from it, the more like it's almost weird envisioning.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: Like I played the game. Oh, totally. You know what
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: I mean? Like you get around some of the players.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: And whether it's at the college level, obviously the NFL level,
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: and you just see the speed and guys hitting, and
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: I'm just like, man, it hurts watching it. I can't
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: even believe I was out there doing that. It feels
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: like a past life almost. Yeah, it really does. How
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: much violence it took to kind of be this soft. Yeah,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: I know. I had to get in the gym a
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: little bit, work out, run a little.
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: Bit but then it's like the thought of putting a
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: helmet on getting all warmed up going out to practice
- 1:38:35Speaker 6: knowing you have one on one it's like i there's
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: there's a zero percent chance i could go do that right.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Now yeah just waking up on a morning in august
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: and be like thank god we're not out there in
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: camp right now.
- 1:38:45Speaker 12: Yeah i mean you look amazing lost a bunch of
- 1:38:47Speaker 12: weight too i think To me, that's part of it, right?
- 1:38:49Speaker 12: Like I got to coach some of the Browns O-linemen
- 1:38:51Speaker 12: last year in training camp, went out to dinner, you know,
- 1:38:54Speaker 12: good old O-linemen dinner, which is so fun, you know,
- 1:38:57Speaker 12: ate a ton of Hall of Fame Wagyu, it was incredible,
- 1:38:59Speaker 12: but Those dudes are so big. And in my mind,
- 1:39:02Speaker 12: I'm like, I don't know how I ever blocked these
- 1:39:04Speaker 12: guys at all.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: Like they could kill me with their pinky right now.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: And I'm sure you, I mean, you look fantastic. Do
- 1:39:10Speaker 6: you look at old photos of yourself or does your wife?
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah. And your wife's like, that's, that's, yeah, she
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: bought early on that stock. The kids call it Fat Joe.
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: They're like, oh, Fat Joe era.
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: My daughters will look at me and be like, yeah,
- 1:39:22Speaker 6: you kind of weird back then, huh? Like, they don't know, like,
- 1:39:25Speaker 6: they don't have like that.
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: You were fat.
- 1:39:27Speaker 6: They're just like that. You kind of look weird right there.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:39:31Speaker 6: When you look at other offensive linemen, like through your career,
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: did you ever like internally have competition in your brains
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: from like a comparison standpoint with other offensive linemen?
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: Early on.
- 1:39:41Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:39:42Speaker 12: When you're a youngster and, you know, I was looking
- 1:39:44Speaker 12: up to Walter Jones and Jonathan Ogden, Willie Rolfe, like
- 1:39:47Speaker 12: guys like that, that kind of came before you that,
- 1:39:49Speaker 12: were your heroes when you were in high school and college.
- 1:39:52Speaker 12: And then, you know, make a few Pro Bowls and
- 1:39:54Speaker 12: now you're up there towards the top. And then you
- 1:39:56Speaker 12: also realize like my game's way different than Taylor's and
- 1:39:59Speaker 12: Andrew's and Trent's.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: And I think you gain a level.
- 1:40:02Speaker 12: Of appreciation for what they do, but it didn't feel
- 1:40:06Speaker 12: like competitive necessarily as far as like, all right, who's
- 1:40:09Speaker 12: the better tackle? we're both great, but we have very
- 1:40:12Speaker 12: different styles.
- 1:40:13Speaker 6: Did you feel, but you said you felt that way
- 1:40:15Speaker 6: early in your career. Was there like a guy or two? Like,
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: I know like, um, Jake long is a guy that's like,
- 1:40:22Speaker 6: I talked to him and he's like, I had for
- 1:40:23Speaker 6: whatever reason, a super competitive thing with you about like,
- 1:40:28Speaker 6: everyone thinks he's the best, but I think I'm the
- 1:40:30Speaker 6: best at everything.
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Did you ever have that?
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:40:32Speaker 12: I mean, I felt the same way with Jake because
- 1:40:33Speaker 12: we were both big 10 guys. We were both the
- 1:40:35Speaker 12: top tackles in the league for a couple of years. And, uh,
- 1:40:38Speaker 12: you know, it was like, all right, who's going to
- 1:40:39Speaker 12: win the outline. Who's going to win the big 10
- 1:40:41Speaker 12: player of the year. And, you know, you're always competitive
- 1:40:43Speaker 12: about everything. And so it was like, oh, I'm better.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: He's better. You know? Um, so I definitely felt that.
- 1:40:48Speaker 12: With Jake and then he had a great career to
- 1:40:50Speaker 12: start in Miami before the injuries piled up. And there
- 1:40:54Speaker 12: was probably a little rivalry. Like we got along great.
- 1:40:56Speaker 12: We were drinking buddies, you know, going to the pro bowl,
- 1:40:58Speaker 12: hammering beers and stuff. And so it was never a
- 1:41:01Speaker 12: personal thing, but it was definitely in my mind.
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm better than him. There's a piece of
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: you that's like, yeah. Yeah, for sure. Is there a
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: coaching staff you had in Cleveland that you wish you
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: guys would have won for more so that way they
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: didn't get the boot?
- 1:41:14Speaker 12: I mean, when we had Kyle Shanahan as our offensive
- 1:41:16Speaker 12: coordinator in 2014, we actually started the season, and it
- 1:41:20Speaker 12: was my second best year in the NFL, 7-9. Not
- 1:41:22Speaker 12: something to– hoist a banner, but we were better and
- 1:41:27Speaker 12: we had a good offense and you could see how
- 1:41:29Speaker 12: great Kyle was and that staff.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: I forget that he was in Cleveland. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:41:33Speaker 12: It was only one year because then he had some
- 1:41:37Speaker 12: issues with personnel and his relationship with the GM and
- 1:41:43Speaker 12: the head coach. Like he had a very specific vision
- 1:41:46Speaker 12: and we know how genius Kyle is, but he's also
- 1:41:48Speaker 12: like a perfectionist. Like it has to be exactly like this.
- 1:41:51Speaker 12: And so they had some disagreements. So he ended up
- 1:41:53Speaker 12: leaving and going to Atlanta and, which, which sucked because
- 1:41:56Speaker 12: I mean, he should have been the head coach and
- 1:41:58Speaker 12: he should still be in Cleveland.
- 1:41:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:42:00Speaker 6: For, um, do 10,600 was 10,363 snaps in a row consecutively.
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: Like there's not only like toughness that takes place, but
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: also like you have to be lucky. Like helmet doesn't
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: come off. Shoe doesn't come off. Like at what point
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: were you like, Oh shit. Like I'm, this is something
- 1:42:16Speaker 6: I'm doing. That's incredibly special. Was it when the media
- 1:42:19Speaker 6: kind of brought it to your attention?
- 1:42:20Speaker 12: Yeah. So it was about, year eight, maybe because, um,
- 1:42:24Speaker 12: our media guy came to me and at the end
- 1:42:27Speaker 12: of the season, they always give you like the snap analysis, like, Hey,
- 1:42:30Speaker 12: this is how many snaps you played. And, you know,
- 1:42:32Speaker 12: it may have been one of the years where we
- 1:42:33Speaker 12: had an old line that played almost every snap together,
- 1:42:35Speaker 12: which is very unique. And, um, so Dan Murphy, our
- 1:42:39Speaker 12: media guy came to me and he's like, Hey, you
- 1:42:40Speaker 12: played every snap. Congratulations, buddy. I'm like, yeah, I know.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 1:42:44Speaker 12: And he's like, and actually I started looking back and
- 1:42:46Speaker 12: I went all the way to rookie year and you've
- 1:42:48Speaker 12: never missed a snap ever. And I'm like, yeah, I
- 1:42:50Speaker 12: realized that he's like, yeah, like 8,000 or some snaps.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: He's like, that's pretty cool. He's like, I'll look it
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: up and see if there's like a record or see
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: where you're at. And I didn't want to think about it.
- 1:43:00Speaker 12: Right.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Cause the last thing you want is to have that
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: like weighing over you.
- 1:43:02Speaker 12: But then of course, fast forward to year 10, we're
- 1:43:05Speaker 12: getting closer to 10,000, kind of a big milestone.
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:43:08Speaker 12: And then the media starts asking me about it. And
- 1:43:10Speaker 12: I'm like, man, that's the last thing I.
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Want to talk about.
- 1:43:12Speaker 12: And you know, on snap 9,998, your, your chin strap
- 1:43:17Speaker 12: shatters and your shoe falls off.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: And it's like, what do you do? Call timeout? Like timeout,
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: I gotta get a new shoe. You definitely have to
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: burn one at that point. Right.
- 1:43:25Speaker 12: But then it did become a little bit of a burden,
- 1:43:27Speaker 12: like thinking about it because you only get one chance
- 1:43:30Speaker 12: at that. It's not like, oh, we'll start over again
- 1:43:32Speaker 12: and go play another 10 years. So I was very
- 1:43:35Speaker 12: relieved when I got my 10,000th snap in Baltimore and
- 1:43:39Speaker 12: I could kind of like put that behind me and
- 1:43:41Speaker 12: then not have to worry about it anymore.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Yeah. What is the record? Do you have the record? Yeah.
- 1:43:45Speaker 12: So I don't know the year they started counting snaps,
- 1:43:48Speaker 12: like maybe in the 90s, but since they've been counting,
- 1:43:51Speaker 12: I've got the record and I don't even know what.
- 1:43:53Speaker 12: The second longest streak is maybe 7,000 or something like that.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: Yeah. What injuries or illnesses did you have to play
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: through while you're getting this streak?
- 1:44:03Speaker 12: So we played Thursday night football against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: If you remember the.
- 1:44:08Speaker 12: Game, it was a game when James Harrison lowers his
- 1:44:10Speaker 12: helmet and hits Colt McCoy like right up under the chin.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Lights out.
- 1:44:15Speaker 12: Almost killed him. And then after the game, he did
- 1:44:17Speaker 12: media and he remembers like none of it. He doesn't
- 1:44:20Speaker 12: have any memory after that. The guy played the rest
- 1:44:22Speaker 12: of the game.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: Incredible.
- 1:44:23Speaker 12: But that game going into it, I remember travel to
- 1:44:27Speaker 12: Pittsburgh and I was just sick as a dog.
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: And I just hold up.
- 1:44:30Speaker 12: In the hotel, IV bags in the arm, all the
- 1:44:34Speaker 12: covers over my head, room at like 90 degrees. The
- 1:44:37Speaker 12: doctor would come in, check on me, give me a
- 1:44:39Speaker 12: new IV. And it was like, all right, we got
- 1:44:42Speaker 12: 36 hours to get ready for the game because it
- 1:44:43Speaker 12: was Wednesday when we got there. game was Thursday night
- 1:44:46Speaker 12: and I was just like save every bit of energy
- 1:44:48Speaker 12: you have to go out and play this game and
- 1:44:50Speaker 12: I remember just standing in the huddle and I didn't
- 1:44:53Speaker 12: have enough energy to turn and face the quarterback so
- 1:44:55Speaker 12: I just would kind of like listen out of the
- 1:44:57Speaker 12: corner of my ear the ball or the play would
- 1:45:00Speaker 12: get called and I would just kind of like saunter
- 1:45:01Speaker 12: the line of scrimmage and every play was like all
- 1:45:03Speaker 12: right you can do this you know it's that self-talk
- 1:45:06Speaker 12: but you can do one more you can do one
- 1:45:07Speaker 12: more play so that was brutal um and then always
- 1:45:11Speaker 12: a bunch of injuries but 2012, I tore my LCL,
- 1:45:15Speaker 12: had like a grade two on the outside of my
- 1:45:17Speaker 12: left knee and was able to kind of like walk
- 1:45:21Speaker 12: it off when it happened in.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: The game, actually stretching like an idiot.
- 1:45:24Speaker 12: I had bad back spasms at the time. So I
- 1:45:26Speaker 12: was like trying to stretch out my piriformis and just
- 1:45:28Speaker 12: went way too hard on my knee and just popped it.
- 1:45:31Speaker 12: And so the doc on the sideline, I'm like, I
- 1:45:35Speaker 12: heard a pop and.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: It doesn't feel very good. And he's like, well, can
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: you like take a set? So I like took a
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: couple of sets. I'm like, I think I can go.
- 1:45:42Speaker 12: And he's like, well, the human's not strong enough to
- 1:45:44Speaker 12: like tear your own LCL like you did. So he's like,
- 1:45:47Speaker 12: it probably is a little sprain, but you know, we'll
- 1:45:49Speaker 12: get an MRI tomorrow and we'll look at it. And
- 1:45:50Speaker 12: you know, you could probably play if you think you
- 1:45:52Speaker 12: can play. So I was like, all right, week 17,
- 1:45:54Speaker 12: you know, end of the season at the time. So
- 1:45:56Speaker 12: I can keep going. So I played the game and
- 1:45:58Speaker 12: then got the MRI and found out grade two LCL,
- 1:46:01Speaker 12: you're out four weeks. And, uh, the Pro Bowl was
- 1:46:03Speaker 12: coming up, you know, probably the one I got to
- 1:46:05Speaker 12: meet young Taylor Luan. And I was like, can't miss that.
- 1:46:08Speaker 12: And he's like, you can't play in the Pro Bowl, dude.
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: You're out.
- 1:46:10Speaker 12: Like you cannot hurt yourself. And I was like, all right,
- 1:46:12Speaker 12: here's the deal. I'm not going to do anything. I'll
- 1:46:14Speaker 12: rehab for the month. I'll go out to Hawaii because
- 1:46:17Speaker 12: it's in Hawaii at the time. I was like, I
- 1:46:19Speaker 12: don't really want to miss this. My family's kind of counting.
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: On this family trip. It's been a long season.
- 1:46:22Speaker 12: And I was like, if it hurts at all, if
- 1:46:25Speaker 12: it doesn't feel perfect, I'll wear a knee brace. Like
- 1:46:26Speaker 12: I'll shut it down. They'll call a backup in, but
- 1:46:29Speaker 12: I'll still be in Hawaii. They're not going to kick
- 1:46:30Speaker 12: me out. So I went out there and it was
- 1:46:33Speaker 12: good enough to play on it.
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: It hurt.
- 1:46:34Speaker 12: You know, I had all the electro stim contraptions and
- 1:46:38Speaker 12: all the rehab stuff. And I played like a moderate amount.
- 1:46:42Speaker 12: And it's the Pro Bowl, right? The Pro Bowl at
- 1:46:43Speaker 12: that point had been slowed down significantly. It was jog
- 1:46:47Speaker 12: through plus. I had my guy Jared Allen across from me.
- 1:46:50Speaker 12: We had a nice silent agreement like, hey, you don't
- 1:46:52Speaker 12: hurt the quarterback. I'm not going to hurt you. I'll
- 1:46:54Speaker 12: let you go after like two and a half seconds.
- 1:46:56Speaker 12: You know, it's jog through plus tempo, right?
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Yeah. You're not going to embarrass me. I got a
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: bad knee.
- 1:46:59Speaker 6: Cool.
- 1:47:00Speaker 12: So we had a good relationship where we weren't going
- 1:47:02Speaker 12: to hurt each other. And so I was able to
- 1:47:04Speaker 12: make it through.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: That is hilarious. That is wild. Tearing your LCL. It's stretching.
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: And still like looking at the doc and coaches be like,
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: I have to go and play in the Pro Bowl.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: It's physically impossible to do that. Like, buddy, it's the
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: Pro Bowl. Like, this is a reward. Like, you've already
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: got the accolade. Like, you've already been named Pro Bowl.
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: It's not like you're a first alternate and you're like, I.
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: Got to get to the place to be called that now. Like,
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: you just... You just need that vacation.
- 1:47:27Speaker 12: The kids were counting on it.
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: I don't care how your knee feels. We're going to Hawaii.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: Yeah.

- 1:48:31Speaker 6: bite and burst thing where it pops and hits you
- 1:48:34Speaker 6: with flavor, that thing never gets old. I mostly use
- 1:48:36Speaker 6: it to lock in. And if I ever need to
- 1:48:38Speaker 6: focus or get a little energy boost, this is what
- 1:48:40Speaker 6: I reach for. Pre-workout, post-workout, does not matter. It just

- 1:49:19Speaker 6: addictive chemical. Let's get back to this episode. As a,
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: I mean, the tricep that ended, essentially the last snap.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: You ever played was against the Titans. Mm-hmm.
- 1:49:28Speaker 6: Did you feel anything before that game with your tricep?
- 1:49:31Speaker 6: Was there something going on before? Or was it like
- 1:49:33Speaker 6: a freak accident?
- 1:49:34Speaker 12: Yeah, no, there was something going on. I mean, I
- 1:49:36Speaker 12: don't know how your elbows feel, but bone spurs in
- 1:49:38Speaker 12: the elbows, a lot of tendonitis in the triceps. And
- 1:49:41Speaker 12: especially on that outside arm, it gets beat up a lot, right?
- 1:49:43Speaker 12: Like that's usually the arm you're leading with. You get
- 1:49:46Speaker 12: to grab cloth. They're yanking on it. They're wrenching on it.
- 1:49:50Speaker 12: It's going all over the place. Plus, you know, you're
- 1:49:51Speaker 12: pretty strong. So you're doing a lot of pressing. And
- 1:49:55Speaker 12: I built up a lot of tendonitis there and bone spurs.
- 1:49:58Speaker 12: And we looked at it on x-ray like quite a
- 1:50:00Speaker 12: bit before that. And the doc basically said like, we
- 1:50:03Speaker 12: can't really go in and do any surgery on that
- 1:50:05Speaker 12: because if we try to cut the bone spurs out,
- 1:50:07Speaker 12: like they just grow back bigger. There's nothing you can
- 1:50:10Speaker 12: really do with tendonitis. I mean, we could do the
- 1:50:13Speaker 12: surgery I ended up getting and sew it back to
- 1:50:14Speaker 12: the bone and that like fixes it. But he's like,
- 1:50:17Speaker 12: your tendon's sick. It's going to blow up at some
- 1:50:19Speaker 12: point when it happens, who knows?
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: But like, you might as well just keep going. I
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: was like, All right, well, hopefully we'll make it through
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: the year. When did you know, when did they have
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: that conversation with you? Was this going into your 11th season? Oh,
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 1:50:30Speaker 12: This was like at some point. I mean, I did
- 1:50:32Speaker 12: it in like week seven. So this was either early
- 1:50:34Speaker 12: in the season or training camp. I don't remember exactly,
- 1:50:36Speaker 12: but like I remember, not that I practiced a lot,
- 1:50:39Speaker 12: but I would still do walkthroughs. And during walkthrough, I
- 1:50:41Speaker 12: was like, don't touch me because just doing that extension
- 1:50:45Speaker 12: with my elbow was very painful. And I was like, Ferrari,
- 1:50:48Speaker 12: saving it for Sunday. So it was interesting like when,
- 1:50:52Speaker 12: it popped. So I knew right away I was blocking Arakpo.
- 1:50:55Speaker 12: We just had an inside zone going my way. Ball
- 1:50:57Speaker 12: comes in the B gap. Arakpo's trying to fall off,
- 1:50:59Speaker 12: make a tackle. And I just tried for one more shove,
- 1:51:01Speaker 12: you know? So I just kind of did that. And
- 1:51:03Speaker 12: as soon as I did that, it just popped.
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: So rolls up.
- 1:51:07Speaker 12: And I knew it right away because I knew the
- 1:51:08Speaker 12: pain and I knew what was going on. And as
- 1:51:11Speaker 12: soon as that happens, you don't have any extension.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: And then almost in my.
- 1:51:14Speaker 12: Mind, it was like a bit of a relief because
- 1:51:16Speaker 12: I was like, oh, it finally happened. You know, cause
- 1:51:18Speaker 12: you're just hanging with that every day wondering, Hey, is
- 1:51:21Speaker 12: this the play that's going to pop my tricep tendon?
- 1:51:23Speaker 12: But then, uh, my good friend, Taylor, I didn't even
- 1:51:26Speaker 12: know it until later. I was actually on the plane.
- 1:51:29Speaker 12: Cause obviously the great Joe Thomas is on the field.
- 1:51:32Speaker 12: Like you're sitting there. getting one with nature, taking your
- 1:51:35Speaker 12: deep breaths. I'm on the sideline like, oh shit, look
- 1:51:37Speaker 12: at him go.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: He's fucking, he's just right now. And we had just
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: met the year before at the Pro Bowl. So to me,
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: we're best friends. Like this is something that we now
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: know each other. And I see you go down and
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: truly like, it was a shot to the gut. I
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: was like, oh, my best friend.
- 1:51:51Speaker 6: Just got hurt like that. How could that possibly happen?
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: And like, I'm sitting there and I'm like, do I
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: go out there and do something? In the back of
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: my head, it's like, you're an attention whore, but like, this.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: Is not your moment. And then finally I was like,
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: you know what?
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: I'm going to get out there and just kind of
- 1:52:05Speaker 6: give him a tap on the ass. Hey buddy, best
- 1:52:06Speaker 6: friend here for you. My space top five or whatever
- 1:52:09Speaker 6: it is. And as you're jogging off, I go and
- 1:52:11Speaker 6: I kind of, I miss you a little bit and
- 1:52:13Speaker 6: I never touch you.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: I'm like, fuck it. Halfway across the field. Like I
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: gotta go back. I came back. I think it was
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: like Ben Jones or somebody was like, that go the
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: way you want it. I was like, no, no, it didn't.
- 1:52:22Speaker 12: I feel so stupid right now.
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: My hands full of miles Garrett and his rookie year.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: Thank God.
- 1:52:27Speaker 6: I played him only that one time. Did you know
- 1:52:29Speaker 6: he was going to be what he is now?
- 1:52:33Speaker 12: The only question for me was, can he stay healthy?
- 1:52:35Speaker 12: He had some bad feet things going on as a kid, surgery,
- 1:52:39Speaker 12: and then in college had ankle feet stuff. But going
- 1:52:43Speaker 12: against him right away, I mean, you saw it. He
- 1:52:45Speaker 12: had it all as a rookie, speed, strength, power, the bend.
- 1:52:49Speaker 12: He had everything, mindset. So I just, the question like
- 1:52:52Speaker 12: any young player, hey, you got it all. Can you
- 1:52:54Speaker 12: stay healthy?
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: Did you ever actually practice against him since you did
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: one of your career where you weren't really not much
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: but in training camp a few times and i knew
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: right away we had a screen it was like the.
- 1:53:04Speaker 12: Very first team drill with him and a screen you're
- 1:53:07Speaker 12: trying to let him go upfield but like even still
- 1:53:10Speaker 12: he just ran right around me and got right in
- 1:53:12Speaker 12: the corner but the screen would not have been off
- 1:53:14Speaker 12: it would have been a sack he was just so
- 1:53:16Speaker 12: fast the get off was just so amazing and uh
- 1:53:19Speaker 12: i was like oh That's it.
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: That's it for me.
- 1:53:22Speaker 12: We'll see you Sundays. You guys don't need to practice
- 1:53:23Speaker 12: against this animal.
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: You ever do some one-on-ones? Uh, we did. We did. Yeah.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: I mean, it was, it was awful.
- 1:53:28Speaker 12: The thing with him, it was awful, but, um, my
- 1:53:33Speaker 12: mindset with him was I got to keep the distance.
- 1:53:36Speaker 12: I can't let him get into my body cause he
- 1:53:37Speaker 12: gets so low.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: He bends.
- 1:53:39Speaker 12: So I was always, when he would try to bend
- 1:53:41Speaker 12: and dip and rip, I was trying to punch that
- 1:53:43Speaker 12: near shoulder, like keep that distance, get him off his
- 1:53:46Speaker 12: axis just a little bit. Um, and, make sure he
- 1:53:49Speaker 12: doesn't get that backside or that, that inside arm behind
- 1:53:52Speaker 12: my back to be able to like pull himself through,
- 1:53:55Speaker 12: but didn't always work.
- 1:53:56Speaker 6: He was, I just remember like playing against him, feeling
- 1:53:59Speaker 6: him and being like, thank God he fully doesn't understand
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: like the NFL yet. Or like how it all kind
- 1:54:05Speaker 6: of like how to basically play in this new world.
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: He's still a college football player.
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: Cause I don't want to walk away from that game
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: and be like, thank God. Like I had a good game.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: Cause if I play him five more times, it's not
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: going to go my way. And luckily. Luckily, Andrew's piled up.
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: I never got to see him again. Dude, this has
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: been incredible. It's been awesome.
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: I really appreciate you taking the time. You're probably super
- 1:54:28Speaker 6: busy right now. It's always an honor to see you
- 1:54:30Speaker 6: and get to hang out with you, man.
- 1:54:31Speaker 12: I appreciate it. Thanks for having me on, guys. We'll
- 1:54:33Speaker 12: have to get you out to the farm. I know
- 1:54:34Speaker 12: we're doing our... Hall of Fame experience, our documentary, bringing
- 1:54:38Speaker 12: boys out and putting them to work.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: Yeah, we were texting about it. What do you do there?
- 1:54:42Speaker 6: Can you break down? I know we've texted about it
- 1:54:44Speaker 6: a handful of times. What is the breakdown of what
- 1:54:46Speaker 6: you're doing at the farm right now?
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: So we raise Wagyu beef. We raise Angus.
- 1:54:50Speaker 12: We're actually serving our certified Angus beef at the Gold
- 1:54:53Speaker 12: Jacket dinner tomorrow night here in Canton to all the
- 1:54:56Speaker 12: Hall of Fame Gold Jacket guys and their families. And
- 1:54:58Speaker 12: then we sell online, halloffamefarms.com. And then we're in restaurants nationwide.
- 1:55:04Speaker 12: distribution partner and we've got some retailers and we've got
- 1:55:07Speaker 12: an unbelievable beef stick uh new one coming out pretty
- 1:55:09Speaker 12: soon first to market pretty excited about it can't really
- 1:55:12Speaker 12: reveal exactly what you got one in your pocket we're
- 1:55:14Speaker 12: doing all sorts of stuff i'll bring it to you
- 1:55:16Speaker 12: guys later we got our freezer trailer there got our
- 1:55:18Speaker 12: mobile butcher set up outside at fan fest but oh
- 1:55:21Speaker 12: yeah when we bring guys out like you guys are
- 1:55:22Speaker 12: going to come out like we had jared allen we
- 1:55:24Speaker 12: had uh barstool guys um after that like you become
- 1:55:29Speaker 12: me and like my farm hand for the day And
- 1:55:32Speaker 12: so we get you dirty excavators, skid loaders, feeding cattle,
- 1:55:35Speaker 12: tagging cattle, castration.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: The whole deal.
- 1:55:37Speaker 12: So you're everything we're doing. I'm coaching you guys. And
- 1:55:40Speaker 12: then you get measured at the end of the day.
- 1:55:42Speaker 12: It's like, all right, how'd you do? Would I hire
- 1:55:43Speaker 12: you as my farm hand?
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:55:46Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I kind of want, yeah. Yeah. Castration though.
- 1:55:50Speaker 6: I mean, how many, it's only once a year, right?
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: So like what time of year is that? So we
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: just did it like two weeks ago.
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: It's fun. Surgery, right? Doing the pregnancy and everything.
- 1:56:01Speaker 12: I haven't done a preg check yet. We usually have
- 1:56:03Speaker 12: the vet do that, but I want to learn how
- 1:56:04Speaker 12: to do all that stuff.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: Cause I love that.
- 1:56:06Speaker 12: You know, as a, as a football player, he's had
- 1:56:07Speaker 12: a lot of surgeries, a lot of, you know, knee drains, injections.
- 1:56:10Speaker 12: You're always doctoring yourself. I want to be like that
- 1:56:13Speaker 12: guy on the farm. Like, hey, don't call the vet.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: Call me. I can do it. Give me the IV.
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: I'll stick it in there, right? Get some icy hot. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: Massage him up. Take the ankles. Do all the stuff.
- 1:56:23Speaker 6: Yeah, give him the pigeon pose a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:56:24Speaker 6: we'll have to go out and do that. That'll be awesome.
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: Before we let you go, we got any future with
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: the kiddos that you talked about coaching them earlier? Yeah.
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: Do we have some potential that we need to keep
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: our eye on?
- 1:56:34Speaker 12: We should keep an eye on my son, Jack, on
- 1:56:37Speaker 12: the football field. He's my quarterback. He's only 10. But
- 1:56:39Speaker 12: he's a big kid. He's a great athlete. My wife
- 1:56:41Speaker 12: played hoops at Wisconsin. So she's 6'1. So we got
- 1:56:45Speaker 12: some athletic genes there we're working with. But he's got
- 1:56:47Speaker 12: the mindset, right? Like that's the thing that I appreciate
- 1:56:50Speaker 12: the most is he's playing lacrosse in the summer right now.
- 1:56:53Speaker 12: And he's the guy like his coach says, go out
- 1:56:55Speaker 12: and get a thousand bounce backs a day.
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: He's doing it, right? Because he just wants to be
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: great so bad. He's about it. And you say he's
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: a big kid playing quarterback.
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: Is this like, hey, you're going to play quarterback, you're
- 1:57:04Speaker 6: going to get to your sophomore year, and then it's like, hey,
- 1:57:06Speaker 6: go and come down to the trenches with us?
- 1:57:07Speaker 7: Probably.
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: Okay, that's all good, right? Yeah, probably.
- 1:57:09Speaker 12: But the way I think about it is like, you know,
- 1:57:11Speaker 12: O-line's kind of the last stop on the bus before
- 1:57:13Speaker 12: you're coaching.
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: Or you're not on the bus anymore. Exactly.
- 1:57:16Speaker 12: So like start him at quarterback, right? See the game,
- 1:57:18Speaker 12: see the field, understand it. And then, hey, maybe he's
- 1:57:21Speaker 12: Josh Allen, right? Maybe he's 6'6, 250, and that's his future.
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:57:24Speaker 12: But if that doesn't work out, your next step is
- 1:57:26Speaker 12: tight end, right? Because you've got soft hands, you understand
- 1:57:29Speaker 12: past concepts, and we can always teach them blocking, right?
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: That stuff's easy. We can teach them that later.
- 1:57:34Speaker 6: Especially with that lineage, he'll have no problem at all.
- 1:57:35Speaker 6: So Jack's the one to keep up on. He's 11
- 1:57:38Speaker 6: years old?
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: He'll be 11 this year, yeah. Jack Thomas. Jack Thomas.
- 1:57:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: BLQ? BLQ. Joe, you know how people would do anything
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: for an ice-cold Bud Light? What would Joe Thomas do
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: anything for?
- 1:57:52Speaker 6: I really want you to think about this, is you
- 1:57:53Speaker 6: already have the Hall of Fame jacket. People have said
- 1:57:56Speaker 6: something as small as just a good steak. Other people
- 1:57:59Speaker 6: have gone as far to be like, I'd love to
- 1:58:00Speaker 6: go back in time and see dinosaurs.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: Go to space. Yeah. And you're a farmer. Maybe you
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: got an ambition out there. Yeah, I know.
- 1:58:08Speaker 12: So- Wagyu in America, right? We imported these cattle from Japan,
- 1:58:13Speaker 12: like in the early nineties. Um, there was a couple
- 1:58:16Speaker 12: of bulls that were imported before then. but there's only
- 1:58:19Speaker 12: like 200 total, let's say, full-blood Wagyu from Japan that left.
- 1:58:23Speaker 12: And then the Japanese people said, no more. We can't
- 1:58:26Speaker 12: allow these sacred animals to leave. Like we have something special.
- 1:58:29Speaker 12: Everybody wants it.
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: We're not leaving.
- 1:58:30Speaker 12: So like all of the Wagyu on our farm, all
- 1:58:32Speaker 12: the Wagyu and all the countries outside of Japan are
- 1:58:36Speaker 12: lineage directly back to like those animals. I would love
- 1:58:40Speaker 12: to get my hands on the bull, like the bull
- 1:58:43Speaker 12: from like the 70s. I think his name's Rushaw. That
- 1:58:46Speaker 12: was like the grand champion. He was the first one
- 1:58:48Speaker 12: that came over from Japan and like his semen would
- 1:58:52Speaker 12: be worth quite a bit of money and would be
- 1:58:54Speaker 12: unbelievable to be able to start another part of the
- 1:58:58Speaker 12: herd like with that stud, right? This is just the marbling,
- 1:59:02Speaker 12: the tenderness. He had everything, right?
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he had it all.
- 1:59:04Speaker 6: So if people would do anything for an ice cold blood,
- 1:59:06Speaker 6: that's very nice of you. people do anything for an
- 1:59:09Speaker 6: ice cold but like joe thomas would do anything for
- 1:59:11Speaker 6: this bull semen.
- 1:59:12Speaker 12: Yeah japanese foundational original bull semen from japan from like this.
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: What let's play a game there you go let's play
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: a game with the semen okay.
- 1:59:22Speaker 5: How much let's play a semen game how much can
- 1:59:25Speaker 5: i get this pay can i sponsor the segment for
- 1:59:27Speaker 5: the semen yeah that semen would be worth Like one
- 1:59:31Speaker 5: straw would probably be worth like 20 grand.
- 1:59:34Speaker 1: And you can get a straw. That's easy. One straw
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: is enough to make a couple embryos.
- 1:59:37Speaker 12: So you could, yeah, you would get like 20, 30,
- 1:59:40Speaker 12: you could get a million straws in that lifetime. But
- 1:59:43Speaker 12: that's like the, the genetic side of the cattle business.
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: That's really valuable.
- 1:59:47Speaker 12: Like, You have a stud bull that's like kicking off
- 1:59:49Speaker 12: amazing babies. Yeah, amazing semen that's creating amazing calves. Like
- 1:59:54Speaker 12: that thing is a goldmine. It's just like the horse
- 1:59:56Speaker 12: racing industry, right? You win the triple crown, like that
- 1:59:58Speaker 12: horse never has another hard day the rest of his life.
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and everyone's just printing money after that. How many
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: straws would you buy? Well, $ 20, 000. Well, you're telling me
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: I can have as many as I want. Like I
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: want the bull. I don't want just the straw. I
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: want the bull, then I collect him. What would the
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: bull cost?
- 2:00:13Speaker 12: The bull right now? Oh, you'd probably get five or
- 2:00:16Speaker 12: 10 million for him.
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: I would think. And you do that in a heartbeat.
- 2:00:20Speaker 12: Yeah, because he's not around anymore. That allows you so
- 2:00:23Speaker 12: many genetic breeding combinations.
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: You're one of one at that point. Everybody's got to
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: have it. You're the number one.
- 2:00:30Speaker 12: You've got Michael Jordan, LeBron James' children and they're the
- 2:00:35Speaker 12: only ones in the world and you're allowed to Well,
- 2:00:37Speaker 12: glad you said children.
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: They're yours. You keep them.
- 2:00:41Speaker 4: They're yours.
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: In this sense, it seems a little weird. Maybe not
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: the best comparison. However, whatever happens in their athletic career.
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: You're set. You're set. Exactly. Are there any more purebreds left?
- 2:00:55Speaker 12: We've got a ton on our farm. There's a ton,
- 2:00:58Speaker 12: but they're all descendants of those animals that came over.
- 2:01:00Speaker 12: So you've got to be careful. Breeding combinations. A lot
- 2:01:03Speaker 12: more than the Angus world.
- 2:01:04Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:01:04Speaker 12: How close you were to the farming world and cattle world.
- 2:01:07Speaker 1: Not very close. Being a Nebraska guy.
- 2:01:09Speaker 12: But like, there's a lot of Angus, a lot of
- 2:01:11Speaker 12: amazing Angus cattle.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: And we raised some Angus as well. And we got some.
- 2:01:15Speaker 12: Amazing, phenomenal sires, the bulls, and we got incredible embryos.
- 2:01:20Speaker 12: And so we do some seed stock sales there. And
- 2:01:23Speaker 12: it's a little bit easier because you got a bigger
- 2:01:24Speaker 12: pool to pick from. But the Wagyu pool is like,
- 2:01:27Speaker 12: About 200.
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: Yeah. We got to get in on this. Yeah, I'm
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: not very close to that. You got to get in
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: on this. How can Buster with the Boys sponsor a cow?
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: Can we get a cut of Wagyu? Can we get
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: a lineage? Absolutely. Well, we can get you beef, no problem.
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: We'll get you the Wagyu's best, healthiest beef on planet Earth. No,
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: I want to invest in the beef. But we will
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: bring you.
- 2:01:42Speaker 12: In and allow you to invest in the beef, and
- 2:01:44Speaker 12: then we can invest in the cattle side, too, if
- 2:01:46Speaker 12: you want to invest in the embryos, the semen, the
- 2:01:48Speaker 12: seed stock side of things. We're big semen guys.
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:01:51Speaker 12: I know you're big semen guys. There's nobody better in
- 2:01:53Speaker 12: the world than Buster. you guys for sponsoring and promoting
- 2:01:56Speaker 12: a great semen.
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: Amen. Amen. We pride ourselves on that. I helped get
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: semen from this horse once and that's about the only
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: experience I have. How was that? The flashlight? Yeah. It
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: was traumatizing. For you or the horse? They get like
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: the horse, you know, they get the, you know, maybe
- 2:02:13Speaker 1: it was a bull, like everything's kind of like running
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: through my head right now. But they get the thing,
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: like the female kind of like trapped in the cage
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: and then they get the old bull come in to
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: start the mounter and then they slip one on. And
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: so I kind of held that. And Buddy's like placing
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: the seam in and doing all the things and got
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: in the car with my mom and I was like, mom,
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: you can't let me do this again. I never want
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: to do it ever again.
- 2:02:35Speaker 6: Isn't it nuts to see how fast those bulls and
- 2:02:37Speaker 6: horses are? It's like, it's one stroke.
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: Might see you later. Wow.
- 2:02:42Speaker 12: He went back for more. Were you able to collect
- 2:02:45Speaker 12: multiple times like the same day? Like, was he just
- 2:02:47Speaker 12: a champion?
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: No, no. This is a Bonterra. This is a Bonterra boy.
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: This is a Bonterra boy. This is Kirkland Costco type
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: of brand. This guy ain't doing much. You know?
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: This ain't wack good. Yeah. What a good... Good podcast.
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: His answer for the Bud Light question might be my
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: favorite right now. It was incredible.
- 2:03:06Speaker 6: You need to send us a deck because I need
- 2:03:08Speaker 6: a bus and cut.
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. We'll get you the bus and cut.
- 2:03:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I want a bus and cut beef, dude, that
- 2:03:12Speaker 6: we can sell.
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: We'll dial it in. I can't wait. We'll bring you
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: out there, too.
- 2:03:15Speaker 12: We can do some butchery on the farm, too, if
- 2:03:16Speaker 12: you want. If that's the thing, like, all right, we've
- 2:03:18Speaker 12: got a quarter. Let's break this down. Breaking the stakes.
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: Make some burgers.
- 2:03:21Speaker 6: I'm a try-anything-twice kind of guy. So really, whatever you
- 2:03:24Speaker 6: have for me, I'll do it.
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: I'm going to do whatever you say. That's the type
- 2:03:27Speaker 1: of guy we need to have. Yeah.
- 2:03:28Speaker 6: I'm trying to get points because you said you'd judge us.
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. You get judged. You go see who can win.
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: Andrew Hawkins, we love you. Joe Thomas, you are the man.
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: Thank you for coming on Bustin' with the Boys, bro.
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: Appreciate it, guys. It was a lot of fun. Joe Thomas,
