- 0:00Speaker 1: Tim Cook has stepped down as CEO of Apple. So
- 0:05Speaker 1: that's something that I know you've been talking about a
- 0:07Speaker 1: long time Ian as far as you advocated for him
- 0:10Speaker 1: to leave as CEO. So the day has come he
- 0:14Speaker 1: has stepped down. And obviously that's a big you know,
- 0:17Speaker 1: that's big. He's one of the most iconic CEOs of
- 0:22Speaker 1: our generation. Apple one of the most successful companies in
- 0:26Speaker 1: human history. It's a new day. It's a new day.
- 0:30Speaker 1: A lot of people complained about the innovation, the lack
- 0:33Speaker 1: of innovation from Apple, So what is Tim Cook leaving mean?
- 0:44Speaker 2: A new era for Apple?
- 0:46Speaker 3: And I know a lot of you thought from the
- 0:49Speaker 3: headlines I was going to come in and gloat, but
- 0:51Speaker 3: at first I want to highlight some of the like
- 0:54Speaker 3: for things that he's done, because if you remember the
- 0:57Speaker 3: day that Steve Jobs died, I remember my dad calling me.
- 1:01Speaker 3: He's like, yo, Steve Jobs died. How you feel he knew?
- 1:04Speaker 3: I was an avid fan. The stock was on a
- 1:06Speaker 3: volatile tear. So he brought structure to a Steve jobless company.
- 1:14Speaker 3: You got to give him his credit. The first company
- 1:16Speaker 3: to hit a trillion dollar evaluation two trillion, three trillion,
- 1:20Speaker 3: made that a four trillion dollar economy, nineteen hundred percent
- 1:24Speaker 3: return in fifteen years' largest buybacks, partner with Icon to
- 1:30Speaker 3: kind of get some of those things and order Apple
- 1:34Speaker 3: Watch services, AirPods, and brought legitimacy to a company that
- 1:44Speaker 3: was not well respected upon Wall Street before his tenure.
- 1:49Speaker 3: As to the innovation part, shot to everybody that I've
- 1:52Speaker 3: had a chance to talk to a HQ today, one
- 1:56Speaker 3: of the greatest parts that it's tough about being the leader,
- 2:02Speaker 3: and you guys talked about at the top of the
- 2:04Speaker 3: show is the power of relationships. So somebody dropped me
- 2:08Speaker 3: a little anidote. I know you were on him about
- 2:11Speaker 3: not investing in open Ai and missing out on Anthropic,
- 2:14Speaker 3: but what if hypothetically he was blocked from both telling
- 2:20Speaker 3: he made some enemies along the way that may have
- 2:23Speaker 3: prevented him from getting into some of these investments. So
- 2:29Speaker 3: greatest operator in our era, for sure, one of the
- 2:34Speaker 3: greatest tech executives ever, built one of the best supply
- 2:37Speaker 3: chains ever. I think he's leaving Apple and great hands.
- 2:44Speaker 3: He's still going to be executive chairman, which I said
- 2:46Speaker 3: he should be, and there's even some rumblings he's positioned
- 2:51Speaker 3: very well to maybe even take over as CEO or
- 2:54Speaker 3: Nike in a couple of years. Talk about a hell
- 2:57Speaker 3: of a turnaround story that would be if he can
- 3:00Speaker 3: leave the legacy and build that infrastructure and take that
- 3:03Speaker 3: infrastructure over to a dying American brand. So before I
- 3:08Speaker 3: get to my I told you, Souls, I want to
- 3:09Speaker 3: give him credit not only for making Apple a legitimate company,
- 3:13Speaker 3: but he was partially responsible for a lot of my
- 3:17Speaker 3: wealth creation from when I invested in Apple very early,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and I think he faced some headwinds and challenges that
- 3:23Speaker 3: he could not get over.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Now that that's out the way.
- 3:33Speaker 3: From the bottom of my heart, A lot of times,
- 3:36Speaker 3: like people ask me like, how did you come up?
- 3:38Speaker 2: Even Todd Tom was like, yo, you work for agency.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I was like, no, Bro.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Like a lot of this stuff, it just comes from
- 3:45Speaker 3: reading and understanding the life cycle. Like even when I
- 3:47Speaker 3: ask you guys media questions, you know something as a
- 3:50Speaker 3: hit or not. As soon as it's posted, I know
- 3:53Speaker 3: I got a hit post when Rasha get to tap
- 3:55Speaker 3: in like early.
- 3:57Speaker 2: That's a metric. This is track right,
