Pride blinds us to our dependence on God, making us overestimate our importance and distort our view of Him. Psalm 50 reminds us that God desires our thanksgiving, not our sacrifices. Thanksgiving shifts our focus from entitlement to gratitude, humbling us and aligning our hearts with God's will. Recognizing God as our rescuer helps us combat pride and grow spiritually.
