- 0:59Speaker 2: your work day is done? Ready? Ready? Was it? Was
- 1:02Speaker 2: it a good day? It's busy day.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Yeah. I've been getting kicked a little bit this week.
- 1:07Speaker 2: But I've noticed that. Yeah, you've been saying you've been busy.
- 1:10Speaker 3: That's all right though. It makes it go fast, So
- 1:12Speaker 3: there's that.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I guess that is nice. I do like that.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, it was a good day.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Nothing nothing too wild and crazy. Sweet man, what are
- 1:24Speaker 2: you doing today? I felt like I was just had
- 1:27Speaker 2: like a lot of busy work today.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, like air and d stuff. Yeah, I should do.
- 1:32Speaker 4: That, right.
- 1:34Speaker 2: We decided that the reason we're doing it earlier is
- 1:37Speaker 2: because we are going to drive up to the cabin tonight.
- 1:42Speaker 2: We're going to do like an extended Mother's Day weekend,
- 1:46Speaker 2: which would be fun. Love that, but just like a
- 1:49Speaker 2: lot of stuff, you know, I had to pack for that,
- 1:52Speaker 2: pack the kids up, and then we actually just got
- 1:56Speaker 2: new furniture and that got delivered today, so that was
- 2:01Speaker 2: very exciting. That's awesome, but you know, you got to
- 2:04Speaker 2: be there from like twelve to four and when is
- 2:06Speaker 2: it going to come and like all that stuff. Yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 2: totally homeowner stuff. But yeah, and I'm excited to go up.
- 2:14Speaker 2: It's supposed to be pretty decent weather.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Yeah, fifties too, I feel like because it's like, yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 3: it's cold, but also it might be kind during the day.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, so like I think we'll have like wind
- 2:27Speaker 2: breakers and hoodies and you know, layers, we have layers.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Sounds great, but I think it'll be nice. Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I'm excited because next week as we're recording this, I
- 2:37Speaker 3: don't know when you'll hear it. But after that, but
- 2:43Speaker 3: home Free is going to be in Minnesota next week,
- 2:45Speaker 3: so I'm gonna get to see you a couple of times.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Heck, yeah, dude, it's going to be fun. Yeah, it
- 2:49Speaker 2: should be a great time.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I think I'm going to try and come to Saint
- 2:51Speaker 3: Cloud and then we'll definitely be in more than this Jackpot.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that'll be that'll be super fun.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I've never been to Jackpot, I don't think, so I'm
- 2:58Speaker 3: excited to check it out.
- 3:00Speaker 2: They treat us really well down there. This is probably
- 3:02Speaker 2: like the fifth time we've performed there a lot.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah, kind of a deceptively far distance from the cities.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I feel like I'm always.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It makes it so that we kind of can't do
- 3:14Speaker 2: the Twin Cities and it's like a radius thing of them,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and so people are always like, we never see you
- 3:20Speaker 2: in Minnie app is like, well, they're really nice to
- 3:23Speaker 2: us and hook us up. So yeah, like that's pretty nice.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's great. I love performing for casinos too,
- 3:31Speaker 3: because they also were just like.
- 3:32Speaker 2: We got rooms for days, let's do exactly, you know,
- 3:36Speaker 2: So they're cool. They're kind of hit or miss with
- 3:39Speaker 2: not that show because we have so many like hometown fans,
- 3:42Speaker 2: and it's a fun one. But casino shows in general
- 3:45Speaker 2: are really hit or miss the audiences. You know, yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I get that well.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Because some of them well yeah, and even more remember
- 3:52Speaker 3: back in the day, like when you were doing the
- 3:53Speaker 3: gigs that I ended up doing and stuff like they're like,
- 3:57Speaker 3: we want to go gamble more, please leave.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Us alone, sir. Right, it's probably been or whatever, some
- 4:04Speaker 2: free alcoholic drinks given. Yes, it is the most amount
- 4:09Speaker 2: of people that you will see sleeping in the front row.
- 4:12Speaker 2: That happens pretty much every casino show.
- 4:15Speaker 3: More there or more on cruise ships back in the day.
- 4:19Speaker 2: You know, that's that's a good point. It probably is
- 4:22Speaker 2: a coin flip, it really is. But man it I
- 4:26Speaker 2: think some people might get offended. I think it's the
- 4:28Speaker 2: funniest thing and I.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Think it's hilarious. I did a bit on the cruise
- 4:33Speaker 3: ship when I was there. At one point, like we know,
- 4:36Speaker 3: we all noticed this one guy and he was out.
- 4:40Speaker 2: It's always an old guy concerning like for a moment
- 4:43Speaker 2: it was like, is this guy alive?
- 4:45Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, let's check for We had everyone exit
- 4:48Speaker 3: after our show. We just did a short show and
- 4:51Speaker 3: we had everyone be really quiet when they to see
- 4:54Speaker 3: when he would tell us that's amazing. Notice like everyone
- 4:58Speaker 3: was still in there because people started giggling. But it
- 5:00Speaker 3: was really funny to me on stage. It was very fun.
- 5:03Speaker 2: For sure. We've just done the thing where all five
- 5:06Speaker 2: of us will go all the way up to him
- 5:08Speaker 2: and sing, like right in his face. He'll wake up
- 5:12Speaker 2: me like, what the hell is happening?
- 5:15Speaker 3: I think we did a big Like I want you
- 5:17Speaker 3: to scream the loudest you've ever screamed. Yes, Like, we
- 5:22Speaker 3: just did the coolest thing and you'll never say anything
- 5:24Speaker 3: more about it. We'll just let this person be confused.
- 5:27Speaker 2: When they wake up. So so good. So that's fun.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And hopefully that won't happen at jack Pot Johnson. It's
- 5:34Speaker 2: going to be people there who will be kind and excited. Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 2: clapping along it love it. Speaking of great times, have
- 5:44Speaker 2: you been watching any fun movies recently? You know, I
- 5:47Speaker 2: have rob But.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I'm going to switch things up a little bit and
- 5:50Speaker 3: I want to play a game with you. I want
- 5:52Speaker 3: you to guess the movie that I saw. I can
- 5:56Speaker 3: tell you when it came out.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Okay, so this was it's a little bit.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Of an older one.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's from nineteen hundred ninety eight. Okay, cool, I'm there. Okay.
- 6:09Speaker 3: This is a movie that's sort of a it's kind
- 6:12Speaker 3: of a crime movie. It's a bit of.
- 6:15Speaker 2: A mystery mystery mystery, almost like kind of noirri a
- 6:23Speaker 2: little bit in there at some points. He was directed
- 6:27Speaker 2: by a man named Volker Schlandorf. Does that help you?
- 6:32Speaker 2: Gotta know?
- 6:33Speaker 3: It is based off of a book. It is an
- 6:35Speaker 3: adaptation of a book.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I don't even know if you've seen this movie.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Okay, so far, not great? There? What do we have?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Maybe maybe was kiss the Girls around then? That's that's
- 6:55Speaker 2: probably in the same area. It is not that one.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Okay, seen till then? And I'll give you this is
- 7:02Speaker 3: maybe too much of a hint. But I watched it
- 7:05Speaker 3: partly knowing who we were going to have on the
- 7:09Speaker 3: show today.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Oh, oh my god, did you see the movie pul
- 7:15Speaker 2: Metow last night? Yea, that's incredible, bro. I still have
- 7:21Speaker 2: never seen it.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Okay, I couldn't remember if you had or had not.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I haven't. No, so I've only seen I've only seen
- 7:29Speaker 2: the trailer. And it looks like Elizabeth Shoe is very
- 7:33Speaker 2: sexy in it. He's very horny. Yes, there, it is
- 7:39Speaker 2: absolutely true.
- 7:41Speaker 3: So this is the movie for folks who don't know
- 7:43Speaker 3: the running bit chat them who will be on with
- 7:46Speaker 3: us later to talk about this spoiler alert. He brings
- 7:49Speaker 3: this movie up every single time we've ever had a
- 7:51Speaker 3: mom and it's it really tickles us. It really makes
- 7:55Speaker 3: me head.
- 7:55Speaker 2: It's so funny. And I never knew this was a.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Movie before he started doing that, uh in this podcast.
- 8:01Speaker 3: So I just thought it seemed appropriate and kind of
- 8:03Speaker 3: a silly little bit I could do with you to
- 8:06Speaker 3: just go ahead and watch that Woody Harrison's in this
- 8:08Speaker 3: Elizabeth shoot just being her horny myself, Gina Sean. Actually
- 8:13Speaker 3: everyone's pretty horny in this movie overall. Yeah, and they're
- 8:16Speaker 3: all very cute. So it's great. Not my favorite movie
- 8:21Speaker 3: of all time. I wouldn't recommend you, like go out
- 8:23Speaker 3: of your way to see it, but it is bonkers
- 8:26Speaker 3: and it is it's it's fun. It's definitely fun and
- 8:29Speaker 3: weird in parts, but yeah, just a weird, wild movie.
- 8:33Speaker 3: And I was like, of course Chatham likes this movie.
- 8:36Speaker 3: What's I watched it?
- 8:37Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I guess that, Yeah, he loves it.
- 8:39Speaker 3: That tracks what was I thinking this is going to
- 8:41Speaker 3: be a rom com or something aol.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So is that set in South Carolina? Then?
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yes, it is somewhere in the South.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Okay, safe for South Carolina is the Palmetto State, which
- 8:53Speaker 2: I found out when I was airport. That's right. I
- 8:58Speaker 2: sent a picture to Chatham, like are there it's.
- 9:02Speaker 3: A town called Palmeadow, and then they reference it's also
- 9:05Speaker 3: an insect or something. Okay, so I guess I don't
- 9:10Speaker 3: know the answer to that, but it is that you
- 9:12Speaker 3: watched it. I love crime, no kind of. It's an interesting,
- 9:16Speaker 3: interesting one.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Not my favorite of all time, but it was worth it.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Okay, So I love it.
- 9:22Speaker 3: So I'm sure we'll talk more about it later once
- 9:24Speaker 3: he finds out. I assume he's seen it and likes
- 9:27Speaker 3: it and that's why it comes up. Or is it
- 9:28Speaker 3: just a weird thing that he picked.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I think it's just a random poll, dude. I think
- 9:32Speaker 2: it's just like a really random movie that nobody's heard of.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And but I did. I did know of it. Yeah
- 9:38Speaker 2: you knew. You know, I've never seen it. That's funny.
- 9:41Speaker 3: But yeah, so I've seen a movie you haven't seen,
- 9:42Speaker 3: which does not happen a lot actually from the mid
- 9:45Speaker 3: to late nineties.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Seriously, definitely doesn't.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Happen from that time frame very often.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I looked it up Kissed the Girls as ninety seven,
- 9:52Speaker 2: so I was pretty cool close. I was a good
- 9:54Speaker 2: guest too. That really fit, Thank you. I like to
- 9:56Speaker 2: Kiss the Girls me too. And the follow up to that,
- 10:00Speaker 2: the Morgan Free I don't know if it's the same
- 10:02Speaker 2: writer or not. Oh, yeah, like the Along Came a
- 10:05Speaker 2: Spider and like those. Yeah, was that the same.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Writer who did the Jennifer Lawrence one.
- 10:11Speaker 2: The Cold? What is that cold? Not cold? Oh? Winter's Bone?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Yeah, Winter's Bone.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I don't know, I think that. I don't think so. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 2: that one was. That one was extra weird.
- 10:26Speaker 3: So I was kind of like that, maybe that doesn't
- 10:28Speaker 3: make sense, that's not it anyway, I want too, So
- 10:31Speaker 3: here we are.
- 10:32Speaker 2: How about you. What's the most recent movie you? I
- 10:35Speaker 2: watched A really new one came out in March. You
- 10:40Speaker 2: can rent it currently and it is a horror movie. Oh,
- 10:45Speaker 2: kind of a funny horror movie. They say it's a
- 10:48Speaker 2: dark comedy, which works for our top five. Later spoiler,
- 10:54Speaker 2: but it is called They Will Kill You.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Oh that looks kind of interesting.
- 11:01Speaker 2: It's super interesting. It's Zasy Baits. I figured out that's
- 11:05Speaker 2: how you say her name's Baits. It's Baits. I'm going
- 11:09Speaker 2: to color beats. I know it's more fun and it's
- 11:14Speaker 2: I looked it up at Zasy Baits because I've said
- 11:19Speaker 2: za z Beats ever since I've seen her in something.
- 11:22Speaker 2: But anyway, dude, this movie is bonkers if you do
- 11:26Speaker 2: not like violence and blood and gore. Really, it's really
- 11:31Speaker 2: intense in that area for sure. Some pretty fun performances
- 11:37Speaker 2: from Patricia Arquette. We had Tom Felton from UH from
- 11:43Speaker 2: the Harry Potter series, Heather Graham, Oh, I haven't seen
- 11:48Speaker 2: her in a minute. Yeah. Fun, but basically she is
- 11:56Speaker 2: she's staying at this really nice place that everyone there
- 12:01Speaker 2: is trying to kill her and they go into reasons
- 12:04Speaker 2: why and that is happening. But yeah, really really gory.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It's kind of funny, more dark than comedy, though way
- 12:16Speaker 2: darker than comedy for sure, But dude, with these dark comedies,
- 12:22Speaker 2: it does, it does. But Zasi Baits, she really kicks
- 12:27Speaker 2: ass in this. If you're like, like kind of wanting
- 12:30Speaker 2: to see a lady just completely kill a lot of
- 12:34Speaker 2: people like. She's good.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I really like it's intense. I haven't seen her in
- 12:38Speaker 3: a ton of things. I feel like, yeah, same, but
- 12:41Speaker 3: everything I've ever seen her and I've liked so.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but your suret cut. She was rocking the Irish accent.
- 12:46Speaker 2: She's kind of creepy good. It was good. So that's
- 12:51Speaker 2: currently available to rents. By the time you're hearing this,
- 12:54Speaker 2: it might be on a streamer, but check it out. Yeah,
- 12:57Speaker 2: check it out. Have you been streaming anything fun? Yes?
- 13:00Speaker 3: I streamed a rom com, a newer one. This was
- 13:06Speaker 3: I think it might have come out last year though.
- 13:08Speaker 3: This was the movie Regretting You. Did you ever see
- 13:10Speaker 3: this one?
- 13:11Speaker 2: I just saw the thumbnail for this. I almost watched it.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I really.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I thought it was pretty fun. I really enjoyed it.
- 13:17Speaker 3: It is a I would say it's more rom than calm,
- 13:21Speaker 3: Like it's got a little more drama than like a
- 13:23Speaker 3: straight up rom com, you know, but really interesting cast.
- 13:28Speaker 3: The leads are McKenna Grace. It was interesting seeing her
- 13:32Speaker 3: as like an adult. Now. I was a child actor
- 13:36Speaker 3: for years. She's very adult like, she's a senior in
- 13:39Speaker 3: high school and you know, she's having twists with people
- 13:43Speaker 3: and it's very fun cool. Her mom is Alice and
- 13:46Speaker 3: Williams who it's fun to see her in sort of
- 13:48Speaker 3: a different role as well, although she was a mom
- 13:51Speaker 3: alike figure and Megan and Megan two or whatever the second.
- 13:56Speaker 2: One was called, which were two point zero I think
- 13:59Speaker 2: two point oh, thank.
- 14:00Speaker 3: You, thank you. I saw it, I don't remember.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Dave Franco and some guy named Mason Thames, who was
- 14:07Speaker 3: pretty fun. Uh, really an interesting story. It's all about
- 14:11Speaker 3: after life, after this like devastating car accident, and then
- 14:16Speaker 3: like drama erupts from that beyond just the normal like
- 14:20Speaker 3: grief and all that stuff, but it's about like the
- 14:22Speaker 3: mom and daughter trying to navigate their own lives and
- 14:25Speaker 3: then with each other and all these things.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I really thought it was. It was pretty fun.
- 14:29Speaker 3: It wasn't like super inventive or new or anything, but
- 14:34Speaker 3: it was well done. They're all really good actors.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It was it was fun to watch.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I liked it, and, like I said, more of a
- 14:41Speaker 3: drama than a straight up rom com like She's out of.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Your League or something like that. So yeah, no that
- 14:47Speaker 2: going in, but I enjoyed it.
- 14:49Speaker 3: It was pretty fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was on
- 14:52Speaker 3: Prime and you can just stream that so you don't
- 14:54Speaker 3: have to not a huge commitment. Sure, you know you
- 14:58Speaker 3: don't have to pay anything extra for it. Sure, but yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 3: I liked it.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I recommend it if you like a rom com drama, y,
- 15:05Speaker 2: you're gonna you're gonna enjoy it for sure. Nice.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Yeah, how about you? What he been Sterman?
- 15:11Speaker 2: I went over to Netflix and I mentioned this to
- 15:13Speaker 2: you on our Q and A last month. Yes, but
- 15:18Speaker 2: I finished the series' Big Mistakes with Dan Levy.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and you're done because you're just like one or
- 15:27Speaker 3: two in I think at that point.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Cool.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah. It's only eight episodes and only half hour and
- 15:35Speaker 2: it's uh yeah. Basically, Dan Levy is a pastor, his
- 15:40Speaker 2: sister is a school teacher, and they get kind of
- 15:44Speaker 2: blackmailed into working for this organized crime organization. Interesting, and
- 15:52Speaker 2: it's really funny in some parts, and it's really dark
- 15:57Speaker 2: in some parts. Laurie Metcalf plays their mother. She's running
- 16:04Speaker 2: for mayor and so they have like a lot of
- 16:06Speaker 2: like extra eyes on their family while they're getting into
- 16:09Speaker 2: this like horrible stuff into Yeah. Yeah, so not a
- 16:16Speaker 2: ton of people that I recognized other than that, sure,
- 16:20Speaker 2: Elizabeth Perkins, who you would definitely recognize, is also in it,
- 16:25Speaker 2: and I think she's going to be a bigger part
- 16:28Speaker 2: later on. They definitely left it like Cliffhangery. I think
- 16:30Speaker 2: they're hoping that a lot of people watch this because
- 16:33Speaker 2: it seems like they're setting it up for season two.
- 16:37Speaker 2: And yeah, it's fun. It's fun seeing them make just
- 16:40Speaker 2: really really bad decisions. And I think I had mentioned
- 16:45Speaker 2: to you Rachel Senate also created it with Dan Levy
- 16:51Speaker 2: and Rachel Senate did like Shiva, baby Bottoms and Bodies,
- 16:56Speaker 2: Bodies Minds. She's not in it at all. She's not
- 16:59Speaker 2: in it, but it's so funny. The sister is basically
- 17:04Speaker 2: a carbon copy of her, and just like she must
- 17:07Speaker 2: have had the commitment or something.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Maybe having like a baby or something.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know, I have no idea, but
- 17:14Speaker 2: it seems silly that she wasn't there. But the woman
- 17:17Speaker 2: who's playing it, her name is Taylor or Tega. She
- 17:19Speaker 2: does a great job. So that's great. Yeah, if you're interested, Netflix.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I love it. I will have to check that out.
- 17:26Speaker 3: What do you think should we do? If you plug
- 17:28Speaker 3: aarus here, let's do it nice. You guess can visit
- 17:30Speaker 3: us as always on the Turner Machine, where we're at

- 17:52Speaker 2: a great time over on Patreon. We give our patrons
- 17:55Speaker 2: a bunch of perks. One of those is getting a
- 17:56Speaker 2: shout out right here, So let's give it up for Marsha, Grazy,
- 18:00Speaker 2: Mary Fox, Nanette Walkley, Johan bro Staid deb Olk, Noel Flores,
- 18:05Speaker 2: and Lorraine Loud. You guys are wonderful. Yeah, thanks for
- 18:09Speaker 2: being patrons. Another perk we like to give our patrons
- 18:13Speaker 2: is an extended version of every episode that we put out.
- 18:16Speaker 2: We'll do a top five draft that pertains to the
- 18:18Speaker 2: movie we're talking about, and for this one surprise, we
- 18:20Speaker 2: haven't done it before. Agreed, we're doing our top five
- 18:23Speaker 2: favorite dark comedies, and we found out this is a
- 18:27Speaker 2: pretty broad subject. Movies that I would not consider dark
- 18:34Speaker 2: comedies are they're saying, so we'll have to talk about it.
- 18:37Speaker 3: It's going to be an interesting one. And you know,
- 18:40Speaker 3: there's no real wrong answers. But there's definitely some that
- 18:42Speaker 3: they called dark comedies, and I'm like, what that's not
- 18:45Speaker 3: really I mean, it might have a funny part or two,
- 18:47Speaker 3: but what are we Yeah, you know, so, yeah, it'll
- 18:50Speaker 3: be it'll be interesting though. I think it means our
- 18:53Speaker 3: list could be vastly different, so that'll be.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Kind of fun. Yeah, agreed. Fun.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Well, we're here today to talk movie from nineteen hundred
- 19:01Speaker 3: and ninety six, celebrating it's what is that thirtieth anniversary years? Yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 3: we're here to talk a little cable guy. I think
- 19:12Speaker 3: it's is it officially the cable Guy?
- 19:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the cable guy.
- 19:16Speaker 3: The cable guy, and I already kind of ruined it.
- 19:19Speaker 3: But we have a lovely young man joining us. Let's
- 19:22Speaker 3: give it up for chraz Is Chattel.
- 19:25Speaker 2: What's up? Chatham?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Hey guys?
- 19:28Speaker 2: You doing Oh I'm doing great.
- 19:31Speaker 4: You know, I've been trying to grow this out. You've
- 19:34Speaker 4: inspired me, so, you know.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Like a real mountain see for for our listeners, Chatham's
- 19:42Speaker 2: beard is quite long. It looks like he could be
- 19:46Speaker 2: part of the Oakridge Boys. That is, honestly, probably about
- 19:49Speaker 2: as long as I ever let mine go. Yeah, it's
- 19:52Speaker 2: pretty Any longer than that, it gets kind of annoying.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I know.
- 19:55Speaker 4: I think about that now because I'm a person who
- 19:59Speaker 4: loves soon and there's no way to do it, Like
- 20:04Speaker 4: you can't You're just eating soup and you're like, well,
- 20:07Speaker 4: I got plenty for later.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just everywhere and you feel like a child,
- 20:12Speaker 4: and it's great.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Surely the mustache is more of an issue for soup.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Yeah, really everywhere.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It really goes everywhere, say bite the corn on the cob.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Can't do that ever again, unless you want to floss
- 20:23Speaker 4: with your own stuff, like have you I had to
- 20:27Speaker 4: have you ever done? Because I do an insane teeth
- 20:32Speaker 4: saga every night, like I do flossing with the real
- 20:34Speaker 4: floss and everything, because they were like little things don't
- 20:37Speaker 4: work as well, and I've gotten that. You ever get
- 20:39Speaker 4: stuck in there with some of the hair with the hair,
- 20:42Speaker 4: and the hair is stuck and you can't get it out.
- 20:44Speaker 4: It's impossible, and then you just look like insane.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Well, thankfully I don't floss, so that doesn't really happen.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Just let the teeth go. It matters. It's not as
- 20:54Speaker 4: important as having a fun.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Ye Veneers look cool. I'm going to get those work.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, this is why I'm like a porpoise from
- 21:03Speaker 3: tip to tail no hair.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 4: What what I heard was you'd like a porpoise from
- 21:11Speaker 4: you're going to get one, as in you're in the market.
- 21:14Speaker 2: He's giving, he's giving.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I've always seen very porpois. To me, I'm not smart
- 21:24Speaker 4: enough giving. The beard is rocking, bro, look I like
- 21:29Speaker 4: it a lot. I do feel good. The hair is
- 21:31Speaker 4: nice and long, and I feel like since uh I
- 21:34Speaker 4: did that? You know, Christmas show? And they made me
- 21:37Speaker 4: Santa because they're Santa, got pink eye, that's all?
- 21:40Speaker 2: Is that why you're doing this? Are you up?
- 21:43Speaker 1: No?
- 21:44Speaker 4: It's not. Why over it?
- 21:45Speaker 3: But I have a suit if you need to borrow it?
- 21:47Speaker 2: No?
- 21:47Speaker 4: No, no, well yeah no I have. They gave me
- 21:51Speaker 4: such a good one there. They had the best Santa,
- 21:53Speaker 4: so you'd ever like the bell had metal and stuff.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I was like, this isn't even this is none of
- 21:57Speaker 4: this is plastic. This is great. But and uh I
- 22:02Speaker 4: just started growing it. I let it happen, and I
- 22:04Speaker 4: started liking. I was like, oh, I think this suits me,
- 22:06Speaker 4: you know, as a Whenever I saw like the short
- 22:09Speaker 4: hair me on stage or something, I'm like, that guy's
- 22:11Speaker 4: a fool, Like doesn't look right at all.
- 22:13Speaker 2: It's like I just didn't believe him.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I was like, I don't. I don't believe that guy anything. No,
- 22:18Speaker 4: And I didn't, So I was like, I'm going to
- 22:19Speaker 4: keep this. And now what's fun is if I do
- 22:21Speaker 4: any sort of like you know, gig, if I'm doing
- 22:25Speaker 4: songs that are like even close to R and B,
- 22:28Speaker 4: it's very funny to watch the crowd if I'm like,
- 22:31Speaker 4: you know it can do in like some song that's
- 22:34Speaker 4: and they're like, what is what is?
- 22:35Speaker 2: What is? What is this? That? That's what I like?
- 22:40Speaker 4: I like to lower the bar quite a bit. And
- 22:41Speaker 4: then I've been be like, wow, singing right now exactly
- 22:48Speaker 4: exactly and it works really well for me. I appreciate
- 22:51Speaker 4: he's a smooth operator. Do you guys want me to
- 22:54Speaker 4: sing that real quick?
- 22:56Speaker 2: Don't please? We can't afford it.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Right You could though, perform it and put it up
- 23:03Speaker 3: on your Patreon, Patreon dot com slash Chris Chatham whoa, that's.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Uh, that is a transition, sir, sounds real nice. I
- 23:11Speaker 4: like that lot that was That's great.
- 23:13Speaker 2: There were no scenes always putting your weird, your weird
- 23:17Speaker 2: versions of things up on there, right.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I do a lot of weird stuff. I just it's
- 23:21Speaker 4: very strange. Like my I tell people my gremlins, there's
- 23:24Speaker 4: gremlins in my brain, and I wake up and there's
- 23:26Speaker 4: just something they're doing, and I'm like, I guess I
- 23:28Speaker 4: got to go record this. And it's usually like pretty
- 23:32Speaker 4: versions of stuff that people haven't listened to, like I
- 23:35Speaker 4: sometimes like to make. It's like I'm trying to get
- 23:37Speaker 4: people to like the music that I actually like, which
- 23:39Speaker 4: is a lot of like disjunct metal kind of like
- 23:43Speaker 4: it's not just metal. But a lot of this stuff
- 23:45Speaker 4: is strange, like it's a little on the edge of
- 23:47Speaker 4: the fringe. So a lot of people aren't there. Nobody's
- 23:50Speaker 4: dancing to it, you know what I mean. Sure, but
- 23:52Speaker 4: I like to take that and say, here, what if
- 23:54Speaker 4: I made it palatable? What do you think of this now?
- 23:57Speaker 4: So there's a lot of fun to be had as like,
- 24:00Speaker 4: let's make this weird song you thought was angry just
- 24:03Speaker 4: pretty and they're like, wow, these aggressive lyrics are really
- 24:07Speaker 4: nice listen to listen to, you know, so it's pretty fun.
- 24:12Speaker 4: I just kind of let let the spirit guide me,
- 24:14Speaker 4: so to speak. It's been you know, jazz tunes, rock dunes.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I made choral stuff on there, just whatever. I you know,
- 24:22Speaker 4: things like hey, here's how I make a song, Here's
- 24:24Speaker 4: how the Gremlins work. And I'm just like that happened. Yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 4: it's pretty fun.
- 24:28Speaker 2: That's fun, man, that's wonderful.
- 24:30Speaker 3: You would like our buddy Evan from college who did
- 24:34Speaker 3: build Me Up Buttercup, but as a like very serious
- 24:37Speaker 3: monologue in an acting class, and it was awesome.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I love that so much.
- 24:42Speaker 2: That's really good. Did you ever hear that? I was
- 24:46Speaker 2: in that same class, and so yeah, we had to
- 24:50Speaker 2: take like a musical theater song or song and do
- 24:52Speaker 2: it as a monologue. And I just remember Benny got
- 24:55Speaker 2: stuck with doing something from the Charlie Brown musical Fantastic Why,
- 24:59Speaker 2: and it uh, the lines were soupy stop, super doppy, dupper,
- 25:04Speaker 2: It's time for supper, supper time and a dramatic monologue.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Was I mean, that was fun. That was wonderful.
- 25:15Speaker 4: I love that dramatic reading of Oklahoma. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 25:22Speaker 4: reminds me of like anything that well, Shatner did that.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, a song home Free did a collaboration with him.
- 25:36Speaker 4: It's what I was hoping would come up, because I
- 25:37Speaker 4: always forget that I have been to. That's that's I mean,
- 25:43Speaker 4: it was good.
- 25:43Speaker 2: He's just speaking and we're like singing in the background.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I can't even tell you what something something mean, I
- 25:49Speaker 2: can't remember. Why not me? Why not? Why not? Think? Yeah?
- 25:54Speaker 4: He you didn't get to meet him though, right?
- 25:56Speaker 2: He was like, no, that's so sad. I mean, I
- 25:59Speaker 2: know we were so being to get to do like
- 26:00Speaker 2: a video with him or something and just never absolutely.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Man, you guys are like, we'll do it for free.
- 26:05Speaker 4: We're going to that's just whatever you need.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Why not me?
- 26:11Speaker 4: He's a national treasure, that guy.
- 26:13Speaker 2: He is great.
- 26:14Speaker 3: That's really great. I don't have a good segue for
- 26:18Speaker 3: this one.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Also, there's an eighth music where you'll hear.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Him of various Shattnor soliloquies.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yes, come check it out. It's a good time at
- 26:31Speaker 2: that Oregon get away guy.
- 26:32Speaker 4: That's amazing, really fun. If you like it's fun. He's
- 26:35Speaker 4: surroundings without any like bugs bothering you, And that's really
- 26:39Speaker 4: what it is.
- 26:40Speaker 2: For me.
- 26:40Speaker 4: I love it so yeah, there's nothing biting you. There's
- 26:44Speaker 4: no like animals that you're really worried about.
- 26:48Speaker 2: You know, it's just to get really around eleven but right,
- 26:54Speaker 2: but you can usually you're staying with me.
- 27:01Speaker 4: If you put your hand down and get him on
- 27:02Speaker 4: the forehead, he can't get Yeah, so it works.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Easy to distract, yea, yeah, easy to distract, yeah, for sure,
- 27:08Speaker 3: before I do get more distracted Chatham, I watched Palmetto
- 27:13Speaker 3: last night, and I just feel like you need to
- 27:15Speaker 3: know that that is undo.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Part of our intro. I'm going to play a game
- 27:20Speaker 2: with you. I watched the movie is from nineteen ninety eight.
- 27:22Speaker 2: It's kind of a noir mystery.
- 27:28Speaker 4: It was so good, isn't it great? I mean, did
- 27:31Speaker 4: it live up to the hype? I imagine you know.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I'll tell you what.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Of course, Chadam likes this movie as hell.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Yeah, hard to follow, no fans, I really like it.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's it is not my favorite movie of
- 27:46Speaker 3: all time.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I actually kind of.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Don't love that nowari kind of type movie. But I
- 27:50Speaker 3: had a good time watching it, and it is it is.
- 27:53Speaker 3: That's it's a fun else. It was so worth it
- 27:57Speaker 3: just a little bit, just the fact that you got
- 28:00Speaker 3: to do it. I was because that was why we
- 28:03Speaker 3: were a little late. Yes, I was laughing partypical.
- 28:08Speaker 4: You know, it's not even the movie or not yet,
- 28:12Speaker 4: not till twenty twenty eight. But when it comes around again,
- 28:15Speaker 4: I tell you, if I'm not again, it'd be great.
- 28:18Speaker 2: It's a horny movie. It's it's pretty horny. Yeah, it's pretty.
- 28:22Speaker 2: It's pretty.
- 28:23Speaker 4: I mean, Shan's in it, so it's hard.
- 28:24Speaker 2: To not kind of Elizabeth Shoe.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how to deal
- 28:30Speaker 4: with that at all.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I'm just like any guy named money in it right
- 28:33Speaker 2: right too.
- 28:35Speaker 3: When I was watching, oh.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Because because because you're.
- 28:40Speaker 3: You're yeah, yeah it is my I was engorged.
- 28:48Speaker 2: What does she say? Like, I'm planning things I hate
- 28:50Speaker 2: about you? His Turgi, Turgid, it's turgi. Yes, it's like
- 28:57Speaker 2: I know this word. I know.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Ah.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I watch that on my TV, which is sometimes serviced
- 29:03Speaker 3: by a cable guy.
- 29:04Speaker 2: So we're here to talk of the cable guy again.
- 29:10Speaker 3: We made it. We made it.
- 29:11Speaker 2: That's about hell all that too, and I.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Think we should get right into it. After our twenty
- 29:17Speaker 3: minute intro.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Here a rough SYNOPSI. Here comes oddball. Cable installer Chip
- 29:25Speaker 2: Douglas attempts to strike up a friendship with customer Steven
- 29:29Speaker 2: Kovacs by offering him premium channels at no cost. When
- 29:33Speaker 2: Stephen rebuff's Chip's frequent need for companionship, Chip goes from
- 29:38Speaker 2: a mildly eccentric acquaintance to a full fledged psychostalker. Though
- 29:43Speaker 2: it's increasingly apparent to Steven that the cable guy is dangerous,
- 29:47Speaker 2: convincing his friend's family and the authorities of that is
- 29:52Speaker 2: another matter entirely. I love it. I love it. Good.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Thank you, great reads, great reading.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Let's go to Rotten to models and hear what they
- 30:02Speaker 3: have to say. Critics of this coming in at fifty
- 30:05Speaker 3: seven percent.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Ooh, that's an F plus.
- 30:09Speaker 4: That's great. It's not great depending on where you went
- 30:12Speaker 4: to school, I mean, you know, yeah, that's agree.
- 30:17Speaker 3: It would be firmly in the past territory.
- 30:20Speaker 2: If it's a fifty to fifty situation. Yeah, that's that's
- 30:24Speaker 2: what about What about audiences though? That's probably way up right. No,
- 30:28Speaker 2: it's actually a little bit lower than that. It's fifty
- 30:30Speaker 2: one percent. That's an F minus. I was a little
- 30:36Speaker 2: surprised that one was lower.
- 30:37Speaker 4: I blame everyone. Yeah, I blame again.
- 30:40Speaker 3: I don't hear people talk about this movie a ton either,
- 30:42Speaker 3: so maybe I shouldn't have been It is pretty select Yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 3: more important than anything.
- 30:47Speaker 2: It's what we think. It's time for our hot take.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Hot take.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Me. That's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Did you guys want music tier?
- 31:00Speaker 2: Do you just?
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 31:01Speaker 2: That works? I love it. I can't. I never think
- 31:05Speaker 2: of these before we do them.
- 31:06Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no good there, it's I can I can
- 31:09Speaker 4: think of the fault of mine.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Oh, it's hot, just the one, it's warm. I'll go first.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I have always had a soft top of my heart
- 31:18Speaker 2: for this movie. You have.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I really liked this movie. I think, like, thinking back,
- 31:24Speaker 3: this might have been one of the first like dark
- 31:27Speaker 3: comedies I watched. Yeah, you know, when I was like
- 31:30Speaker 3: old enough to get it maybe or something, because what
- 31:33Speaker 3: do we say, this came out in ninety six.
- 31:35Speaker 2: So yeah, it's the thirtieth anniversary.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Wow.
- 31:37Speaker 3: By the time it was like on video or whatever,
- 31:40Speaker 3: which is probably how I saw it, or on cable. Uh,
- 31:43Speaker 3: we never had cable.
- 31:44Speaker 2: But by the time I saw it, I.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Was probably into it, being a little bit darker and
- 31:50Speaker 3: kind of a different twist on a comedy film, and
- 31:53Speaker 3: I still really liked it on the rewatch, i'd have
- 31:56Speaker 3: I don't watch this one like a ton a ton,
- 31:58Speaker 3: but every once in a while check in with it.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I think it's really interesting. It's fun to see it.
- 32:03Speaker 3: They don't go too dark with it. They definitely are
- 32:06Speaker 3: like leaning that way right on the fringe.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't go you know, too wild. Nobody's getting
- 32:12Speaker 3: killed or anything or dismembered or anything like that.
- 32:16Speaker 2: So really fun.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I did not realize this was a.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Ben Stiller directed movie until watch, which was kind of fun. Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's really had, you know, quite the career
- 32:28Speaker 3: when you look back at it in totality now, it's
- 32:31Speaker 3: pretty wild just directing or just acting.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I mean, right now, he's like probably top ten director
- 32:37Speaker 2: at least for TV. Yeah, he's credible now. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:42Speaker 2: pretty wild.
- 32:43Speaker 3: But yeah, I still really like this movie. I think
- 32:45Speaker 3: it's fun to see Jim Carrey like in a different
- 32:48Speaker 3: kind of role. I thought Broderick was really fun. Yeah, overall,
- 32:54Speaker 3: just I really enjoyed it. I was kind of shocked
- 32:57Speaker 3: on this rewatch that it was like ninety five minutes
- 33:00Speaker 3: I think is what it was.
- 33:01Speaker 2: So I was kind of a quick one.
- 33:03Speaker 3: When I was going to rewatch it, I was like,
- 33:05Speaker 3: but there must be stuff I don't remember from it
- 33:07Speaker 3: because I only remember like a few and I was like, no.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I remembered pretty much all those. Yeah, I have a film. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 33:15Speaker 2: I'm not mad at that, dude, me neither. It was.
- 33:18Speaker 3: It was pretty fun, it was enjoyable. It was fun
- 33:20Speaker 3: to see these actors when they're so young now, because
- 33:23Speaker 3: you know it is an.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Older film at this point. Yeah, and uh, and I
- 33:28Speaker 2: swear to god, I really did try to think of one.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I don't really have a hot take for this one.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I don't know and take.
- 33:35Speaker 4: I mean, you're just a loving kind of person, you know,
- 33:37Speaker 4: you don't have agative.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I didn't enjoy it, though, Yep, good.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I definitely give it more than fifty one percent.
- 33:43Speaker 2: That's great, hot take, buddy. I remember seeing this movie
- 33:49Speaker 2: back when it came out. I would have been twelve
- 33:51Speaker 2: years old. I was used to seeing Jim Carrey in
- 33:55Speaker 2: these Ventura films and the mask and dumb and dumbers,
- 33:57Speaker 2: So then when he gets in this dark comedy, I
- 34:00Speaker 2: was super thrown. Uh, this is only the second time
- 34:04Speaker 2: I've ever seen it, because I was not a fan
- 34:06Speaker 2: back in the day. Oh okay, but I will say
- 34:10Speaker 2: that I moved it from a four out of ten
- 34:12Speaker 2: to a seven out of ten on IMDb. Look at
- 34:15Speaker 2: you after this rewatch?
- 34:17Speaker 4: So now fifty eight percent? No, now that would be
- 34:21Speaker 4: seventy percent tomatoes. I'm assuming. Yeah, they pulled from it.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Oh fifty Yep.
- 34:27Speaker 2: We're gonna, We're gonna, all right, Okay. This was written
- 34:31Speaker 2: by Lou Holtz Junior. I did look it up. It's
- 34:34Speaker 2: not the football coach. Good to know. Yeah, yeah, and
- 34:38Speaker 2: this is his only credit, which I found interesting. Really
- 34:42Speaker 2: has never done anything else. It was like I one
- 34:45Speaker 2: and done, I'm in, I'm out like you said. Directed
- 34:48Speaker 2: by Ben Stiller. This was a second movie he directed,
- 34:50Speaker 2: the first being Reality Bites. I thought it was funny
- 34:54Speaker 2: that Ben Stiller directed this because he really seemed like
- 34:57Speaker 2: he should have played Steven. He since played that role
- 35:01Speaker 2: so many times where he's just kind of getting dumped
- 35:03Speaker 2: on the whole time. I thought he would have been
- 35:06Speaker 2: very good in Matthew Broderick's role. Matthew Brodrick was great,
- 35:09Speaker 2: but it feels like a Ben Stiller movie. Totally Yeah,
- 35:14Speaker 2: Jim Carrey makes his character his own. That lisp is
- 35:16Speaker 2: absolutely incredible. That's so much fun. Wow, the supporting cast
- 35:21Speaker 2: and this is pretty great. I loved all the little
- 35:23Speaker 2: cameos from all those very recognizable people. Overall, the plot
- 35:27Speaker 2: doesn't do like a ton for me, but Jim Carrey's
- 35:30Speaker 2: performance and a couple really really funny scenes make it
- 35:33Speaker 2: worth watching for me. My hot take. One thing that
- 35:38Speaker 2: I always think about with this movie. It's kind of
- 35:40Speaker 2: stepping on our trivia, but especially when we did our
- 35:43Speaker 2: episode on Black Sheep, Chris Farley was supposed to play
- 35:46Speaker 2: Chip Douglas, and I just can't even imagine how wildly
- 35:51Speaker 2: different this would have been had Chris Farley played that role.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I don't think he could have great up comedy right dark.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I would not have been able to like play an
- 36:03Speaker 2: unlikable guy that people would not want to hang out with, Like,
- 36:06Speaker 2: I just don't. And I thought he was a pretty
- 36:09Speaker 2: good actor, like he could do the the sweet tender
- 36:12Speaker 2: kind of dramatic stuff pretty well surprisingly, but I I
- 36:18Speaker 2: just think this movie would have been completely different.
- 36:21Speaker 3: I think it just would have been more like a
- 36:23Speaker 3: bumbling guy who just went too far, rather than like
- 36:26Speaker 3: a nefarious guy around kind of annoying.
- 36:31Speaker 2: It has a heart of goal, but like but like
- 36:35Speaker 2: the dark side stuff, I just I don't, I don't.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I don't see it. I don't see it at all.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Which is ironic because he had kind of a dark
- 36:43Speaker 3: side personally, so you know, like that is interesting. But yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 3: I'm with you, it would have been way different.
- 36:48Speaker 2: I think, yeah, crazy, So I don't know. That's my
- 36:52Speaker 2: hottest think.
- 36:53Speaker 4: I guess, yeah, I love it hot warm take. No,
- 36:58Speaker 4: it's I think I don't have really anything either. There's
- 37:06Speaker 4: I think the only thing I can say, like I
- 37:08Speaker 4: do see like a Ben Stiller being that role that
- 37:12Speaker 4: Broderick played, Like I just it's hard to I just
- 37:17Speaker 4: quit it, like it's hard to be the straight man
- 37:19Speaker 4: to Jim Carrey. I think, like it just makes you
- 37:21Speaker 4: seem like you're not doing great, like like you can't
- 37:25Speaker 4: both him and U leslie Man is that the She's
- 37:31Speaker 4: she's great, Like she's great, but you don't get to
- 37:33Speaker 4: see any of their They're just overshadowed by this like
- 37:36Speaker 4: ridiculous cartoon and the movie, which is what I probably needed,
- 37:41Speaker 4: like I think it was. It's just super entertaining because
- 37:43Speaker 4: Jim Carrey is Jim Carrey, but it's like, hey, say
- 37:46Speaker 4: some words and then let him do whatever he's going
- 37:48Speaker 4: to do. Has nothing to do pretty much like I
- 37:53Speaker 4: just you know, I some my honest teak is like
- 37:57Speaker 4: they didn't work very hard and like collaborate any of that,
- 38:00Speaker 4: like and I don't know if they need to, but
- 38:03Speaker 4: it just seemed like, I mean, maybe have some real
- 38:06Speaker 4: moments other than like, hey, here's some words. I said,
- 38:10Speaker 4: what do you think?
- 38:13Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 38:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and then back to like okay, well I feel
- 38:16Speaker 4: good about this girl. Should I go after? I'm going
- 38:19Speaker 4: to help you out? Like it just doesn't have a lot.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Of right Yeah, yeah, I will say I wasn't super
- 38:24Speaker 2: invested in that relationship or why why they weren't together,
- 38:29Speaker 2: Like it felt very just like okay, they need to
- 38:32Speaker 2: be a part so that he can be alone and
- 38:35Speaker 2: deal with all the fun stuff in his apartment, but
- 38:38Speaker 2: like why didn't she want to be with him?
- 38:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 38:42Speaker 2: I never really care.
- 38:44Speaker 4: They didn't much, just like I don't know, he must
- 38:46Speaker 4: have messed up and they said they didn't. It just
- 38:48Speaker 4: said he messed up, but it was like, well it
- 38:50Speaker 4: was like he canted or something.
- 38:52Speaker 2: He proposed too soon like maybe he's too smothery, but
- 38:56Speaker 2: it's just like I don't, yeah, I don't know.
- 39:00Speaker 3: All that the way I felt the same way about
- 39:03Speaker 3: Jim Carrey's like his mom left and he sat in
- 39:06Speaker 3: front of the TV, and I was like, I don't
- 39:08Speaker 3: really Okay, I mean, yeah, I guess I kind of
- 39:11Speaker 3: get that, But do we need that he can just
- 39:13Speaker 3: be a weird, sad, lonely guy.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I don't.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Yeah, right, yeah, all that to say, I still really
- 39:19Speaker 4: enjoyed it, so it didn't matter to me. You know,
- 39:21Speaker 4: it's like same, It was just like if you had
- 39:24Speaker 4: to think of something you're like, but also it was
- 39:27Speaker 4: ninety six, like yeah, those comedies weren't I mean, they
- 39:32Speaker 4: had slapsticky stuff, but they just you know, it wasn't
- 39:35Speaker 4: didn't happen as much as they do now. Like right
- 39:38Speaker 4: from that point forward, it started becoming like insane and
- 39:41Speaker 4: I don't know what is that. I don't know they've
- 39:45Speaker 4: they've honed in since sure.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Yeah, hot take, hot takes.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Well, why do we move on to our favorite acting performance.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Let's pick the dude. The dude. I'm the dude, so
- 39:59Speaker 2: that's what you call him, you know that? Or his
- 40:03Speaker 2: dude or duder or you know, El dud reno.
- 40:07Speaker 3: If you're not into the whole brevity thing and who
- 40:09Speaker 3: you got for your favorite acting pfom, what if.
- 40:11Speaker 4: I just said David Cross, you know, I wouldn't be upset.
- 40:18Speaker 4: I didn't know, I mean part of it. So we're
- 40:21Speaker 4: not just going back and watching this. I didn't remember
- 40:24Speaker 4: any of these people because I didn't know wh they were.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Like the board meeting, I just saw a little little
- 40:30Speaker 4: David Cross pocus. I was like, whoa, what is happening?
- 40:34Speaker 2: You know?
- 40:36Speaker 4: But no, for me, it's it's Jim Carrey. Obviously, he's
- 40:38Speaker 4: the He's the engine of the entire thing for sure,
- 40:42Speaker 4: and like so many of his movies, like when you
- 40:44Speaker 4: just can't see someone else acevent sure, there's no chance
- 40:47Speaker 4: anyone else would make that, even watching watchable like much lessly,
- 40:51Speaker 4: I'll watch it every day.
- 40:52Speaker 2: You know.
- 40:53Speaker 4: He's just he's got a wave. He's got so he's
- 40:56Speaker 4: so inventive. His physical comedy is unreal. His choices like
- 41:00Speaker 4: this this stuff in the room that he picks, You're like,
- 41:02Speaker 4: I've never seen anyone even think of that, Like, well,
- 41:06Speaker 4: you know, why why is he using the hand dryer?
- 41:09Speaker 4: Like this, it's unbelievable, you know, And he just has
- 41:14Speaker 4: choices that you would never think of, and he's got unlimited,
- 41:17Speaker 4: unlimited supply facial expressions. Just yes, you're always like I
- 41:20Speaker 4: can't wait to see what he does right now. So
- 41:23Speaker 4: he's the.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Guy, absolutely, dude, agree with you. The list beloone is
- 41:28Speaker 2: just incredible. Seriously. Yeah, also when he loses it for
- 41:33Speaker 2: a second and then it's so funny, man, that's great. Yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 2: that is really good. But yeah, he he would win
- 41:42Speaker 2: it just for that amazing like bullet vibrado that he
- 41:47Speaker 2: has in the like machine gun vibrado.
- 41:49Speaker 4: It's gonna talk about that, we're gunn and stuffs to
- 41:56Speaker 4: take a breath and goes back.
- 41:57Speaker 2: To it, does it again. His choices are absolutely incredible
- 42:02Speaker 2: because you could tell that he probably actually has a
- 42:04Speaker 2: pretty good voice, Like could I don't think that he
- 42:07Speaker 2: could ever do it without being silly.
- 42:10Speaker 4: He could not like a serious I remember saying, I
- 42:13Speaker 4: was going to say it to somebody, but he's like
- 42:15Speaker 4: a lot of times actors are great at giving musical
- 42:18Speaker 4: performances because they're really acting it out. And I remember
- 42:21Speaker 4: thinking his grinch is like unbelievable, Like his recording of
- 42:25Speaker 4: Grinch is like everything is so crazy, Like he's got
- 42:29Speaker 4: a different character, reach section of it, different voices you use.
- 42:32Speaker 4: It's like yeah, and I was like I just never
- 42:34Speaker 4: would even think to I'm like, I'm just going to
- 42:36Speaker 4: sing this song, yeah, like I should.
- 42:38Speaker 2: And he's like he does it even in the mask.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Because I went and bought that single of Cuban p Yeah,
- 42:48Speaker 2: because it was it was great and silly throw out
- 42:52Speaker 2: that that whole thing anyway, Yeah, he's the best.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Love that well, it's a clean sweep for him because
- 42:59Speaker 3: he I agree everything you guys have said. He's just
- 43:01Speaker 3: incredible in this and he's so like you guys have said,
- 43:04Speaker 3: like he just makes choices. He doesn't have to make
- 43:07Speaker 3: that make it harder. But we're like we're all better
- 43:10Speaker 3: for it, you know in some ways, Like I don't know,
- 43:13Speaker 3: the lisp is great, just his I don't know, he's
- 43:16Speaker 3: so tender and like doesn't know how to be a friend.
- 43:19Speaker 2: But did they bring it up in the trivia I
- 43:21Speaker 2: don't remember seeing it, But was that like a Jim
- 43:23Speaker 2: Carrey choice or was that written in there that he
- 43:26Speaker 2: had the list?
- 43:27Speaker 3: It's a good question.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I don't know that it's I think he came in
- 43:31Speaker 2: with it at least that's what plausible. But I think,
- 43:34Speaker 2: you know, one of the reasons is because like, well,
- 43:36Speaker 2: his parents didn't really care enough to go and get
- 43:40Speaker 2: bring him to a speech pathologist. They put him in
- 43:42Speaker 2: front of the TV, and like sure, those kind of things,
- 43:45Speaker 2: Like I think he thinks about, yeah, how do we
- 43:48Speaker 2: build this character? Yeah?
- 43:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he always has like I think he thinks about
- 43:52Speaker 4: that kind of stuff in every role in Manorreal Silly,
- 43:55Speaker 4: And he always has like a catchphrase he thinks about.
- 43:57Speaker 4: There's always something that he's got so gread to like
- 43:59Speaker 4: tie people in and you're you know, yeah, that's good.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just really fun.
- 44:04Speaker 4: He's gonna be great someday.
- 44:05Speaker 2: I think you got a future kid. Well that's great.
- 44:12Speaker 3: Let's talk about all those other crazy folks that are
- 44:14Speaker 3: in this movie. It's time to name the tuccid Tucci.
- 44:21Speaker 4: This one, all right, This is hard because there's not
- 44:24Speaker 4: a lot of mother choices. There's just like Broaderick or
- 44:27Speaker 4: Man like the rest, like there's little parts of come up,
- 44:30Speaker 4: I just picked I just picked Broaderick because although it's
- 44:35Speaker 4: I was saying, it's like, it's just hard to be
- 44:37Speaker 4: a supporting guy for that, and how do you think
- 44:39Speaker 4: all of those how do you how do you do
- 44:41Speaker 4: that so you're convincing and not just like but that's
- 44:46Speaker 4: that's what I'm Uh, yeah, I would say that. He's
- 44:51Speaker 4: just it's so hard to be a streaming and getting
- 44:52Speaker 4: through all of those guys. Getting through any of these
- 44:55Speaker 4: scenes without laughing is like, if you can make it
- 44:59Speaker 4: through any of that, because none of them are the same.
- 45:01Speaker 4: He doesn't repeat to take I'm sure, and it's like,
- 45:03Speaker 4: you just got to take the one that he's you know,
- 45:05Speaker 4: there's a couple of scenes in here you see like
- 45:07Speaker 4: Owen Wilson, like you see him start to break, and
- 45:09Speaker 4: there's a couple like you're like, you're gonna laugh right now,
- 45:12Speaker 4: and I just kept it and I was like, that's wonderful.
- 45:15Speaker 4: But yeah, I think he deserves a Tuccy just for
- 45:17Speaker 4: being in the most scenes with him and not breaking.
- 45:20Speaker 2: That's a really good point. That's a great call. That's
- 45:23Speaker 2: a great call.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, he's probably just tired of him after a while.
- 45:26Speaker 2: He's like, oh yeah, yeah, he gets it just for
- 45:31Speaker 2: that password game alone, having to play that with his
- 45:35Speaker 2: mother horn.
- 45:43Speaker 4: He almost licks his ear so many times, so many times.
- 45:47Speaker 2: But him his reaction to saying that to his mom,
- 45:51Speaker 2: he just says it quick and he's just kind of
- 45:52Speaker 2: mad the whole time. I just thought that was brilliant
- 45:55Speaker 2: how he played that. My runner up would have been
- 46:00Speaker 2: someone that I had no idea was in this movie,
- 46:02Speaker 2: and it tickled me seeing him in his pretty big
- 46:05Speaker 2: role Jack Black. I didn't remember him in this Remember
- 46:10Speaker 2: with You. That was really fun seeing a pretty young
- 46:15Speaker 2: svell to Jack Black. He he was, He was pretty good.
- 46:20Speaker 2: He was kind of he was interesting because he was
- 46:24Speaker 2: also like really wanting his friend to be there more
- 46:27Speaker 2: for him. You know.
- 46:29Speaker 3: He was kind of vulnerable almost or something.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Just not a creepy version of like what Jim Carrey
- 46:36Speaker 2: was doing.
- 46:37Speaker 4: Normal what you would say many.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Man like you're gonna be with you your girlfriend again,
- 46:43Speaker 2: Like I want to go to the concert with you,
- 46:45Speaker 2: like come on. Yeah. But no, I thought he was great.
- 46:49Speaker 2: He was a lot of fun.
- 46:50Speaker 4: I also think now we know Jack Black as just
- 46:55Speaker 4: his fierce like wild on a on the screen. Is
- 46:59Speaker 4: he is like being in this movie, you seeing that
- 47:02Speaker 4: he has to keep it.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Held back, like yeah, yeah, some Jack though, Yeah, A.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Couple of faces and a couple of turns like but
- 47:12Speaker 4: it's just very funny to see like, yeah, I know
- 47:14Speaker 4: how ridiculous you are, but there's no room for that here.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, we can't both go, can't?
- 47:23Speaker 4: Can't?
- 47:25Speaker 2: What do you got? I loved Leslie Bannon this. I
- 47:29Speaker 2: don't think she got like a ton a ton to do.
- 47:32Speaker 3: But the part she was there for she's awesome, and
- 47:34Speaker 3: she's always so funny and great.
- 47:36Speaker 2: I don't know, Yeah, they didn't. They didn't flesh out
- 47:38Speaker 2: that idea of like why she didn't want to be
- 47:40Speaker 2: with them or like any of it, so then you're
- 47:42Speaker 2: just kind of like, I don't really care about you
- 47:44Speaker 2: very much. Yeah it was a bomber, Yeah.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Yeah, because it could have been like yeah, I don't know,
- 47:51Speaker 3: it could have been any number of things, but they
- 47:52Speaker 3: just didn't really even pick one.
- 47:54Speaker 2: And then she was eible to go on like another
- 47:56Speaker 2: date with somebody and you're like, well, but what's your
- 47:59Speaker 2: guys' thing? Like what is happening here? Okay?
- 48:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's fine, but why, Yeah it's weird
- 48:04Speaker 3: because it could have been something simple too, like I
- 48:06Speaker 3: don't know, I just feel like we're too young and
- 48:08Speaker 3: I want to live life or something he's got.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Anything like that would have helped. Yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Is that he's got a weird penis probably probably, Yeah.
- 48:17Speaker 2: It's it's it's like a z in a weird way. Yeah,
- 48:25Speaker 2: some days works really well.
- 48:26Speaker 4: But the other days, most day I'd say no days,
- 48:29Speaker 4: non days, none days.
- 48:33Speaker 2: You might have me around a corner and I can't
- 48:35Speaker 2: have that.
- 48:38Speaker 4: I just want to keep it classy in here.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Good Man. Yes, yes, that's how we do. Bob Odenkirk
- 48:47Speaker 2: so funny password game and that was fun.
- 48:50Speaker 4: He has that one line that was so ridiculous, what
- 48:53Speaker 4: do you do it?
- 48:55Speaker 2: It's like, what are you doing? Yeah, that's a weird thing.
- 48:59Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 49:00Speaker 3: George Cigal, Yeah, Stephen's dad, he's always great. Andy Dick
- 49:07Speaker 3: was in there.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I forgot there a bit, but I remember Jane and
- 49:13Speaker 2: that bit the same medieval times thing, but I.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Remember heard too, but I didn't remember him at all.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Like Old Wilson, that scene.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Is remember yeah these people.
- 49:25Speaker 2: And then you had Ben Stiller as the trial Yeah twins.
- 49:32Speaker 2: That was such a god. That would have been like
- 49:34Speaker 2: right after the O. J trial, so they're probably playing
- 49:37Speaker 2: on that, but it also felt like they were kind
- 49:40Speaker 2: of going Menendez.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Was probably a combo, right.
- 49:47Speaker 4: Like camping in on either one, so let's keep it
- 49:49Speaker 4: Roberts Roberts.
- 49:55Speaker 2: But dude, hearing the nine one one call that he
- 49:58Speaker 2: says he's Asian. Asian? Oh God killed me. There's nothing wrong.
- 50:07Speaker 3: With saying that, but it also sounds very wrong. It
- 50:11Speaker 3: was so funny, both unbelievable and wrong.
- 50:15Speaker 2: It was good.
- 50:18Speaker 4: The last since we're a cameo in that that little
- 50:21Speaker 4: bit of Kyle, Yes Kyle, and I was like, oh buddy, hey, yeah.
- 50:27Speaker 2: I loved that. The cable goes out and he's like,
- 50:30Speaker 2: I'm going to finally read this book and as he's reading,
- 50:36Speaker 2: so cute.
- 50:37Speaker 4: I love that. That's great.
- 50:39Speaker 3: That was also like, how good of a friend is
- 50:41Speaker 3: Jack Black? He always seems to hook his brother, He
- 50:44Speaker 3: really does.
- 50:45Speaker 4: It's like so many he's They're the They're the Howard brothers.
- 50:49Speaker 4: If I've ever seen you know Clint always Clint always
- 50:52Speaker 4: gets a roll somewhere.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Yeas, we'll get your health insurance for the year.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Don't worry about it.
- 50:58Speaker 4: We're getting it. Looks like you're gonna need dental insurance
- 51:01Speaker 4: for you. But that's me for the screen never changed,
- 51:09Speaker 4: but so much that's all right.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Well, I think that's pretty much everyone. Why don't we
- 51:16Speaker 2: go to our favorite scene. Let's choose the dingus us
- 51:22Speaker 2: is quite simple, really, dingus dingus. I could talk about
- 51:25Speaker 2: my dingus all night long.
- 51:29Speaker 4: It is really hard because I kept picking as I'm watching,
- 51:32Speaker 4: and I was like, oh, okay, that basketball seems great, Okay,
- 51:36Speaker 4: Medieval Times is iconic, Okay, cool, But then everything else
- 51:39Speaker 4: kept jumping in and I was like, I don't know.
- 51:43Speaker 4: I think I think for me, I laughed the most
- 51:48Speaker 4: at the password.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Oh nice, I think I gotta say that.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Like, I know, it's iconic and Medieval Times is unbelievable,
- 51:55Speaker 4: and there's a lot, but that password scene is just,
- 51:59Speaker 4: uh you know, it's like it went on for a
- 52:02Speaker 4: long time, so long, and all of his like you said,
- 52:07Speaker 4: he's just every single time the sword is and I'm like,
- 52:13Speaker 4: why did you Why did you do that? When he
- 52:15Speaker 4: hits them with the pillow, like everything in the scene
- 52:17Speaker 4: is available.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Also, just hand him the slip of paper.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Why are we whispering it?
- 52:22Speaker 4: But we don't have to do that. Yeah, here's what
- 52:24Speaker 4: it is.
- 52:24Speaker 5: Just everybody is so against Matthew Broderick the whole time.
- 52:28Speaker 5: It makes me so happy because he's playing it. He's like, no,
- 52:31Speaker 5: this guy's running my life, like, oh, come on, yeah,
- 52:34Speaker 5: just play the game.
- 52:35Speaker 2: He's just gaslighting him so hard.
- 52:38Speaker 4: I love it. It's great and just everything like his
- 52:42Speaker 4: his his delivery, like he's.
- 52:45Speaker 2: When he punch him.
- 52:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I punched him in the head and he comes
- 52:50Speaker 4: out of it and he's like, my neurologist is going
- 52:52Speaker 4: to have to has a little misstep about it and
- 52:56Speaker 4: then try to leave again. I'm like, what do you
- 52:59Speaker 4: think of all of this?
- 53:00Speaker 2: Just so ridiculous.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I love that one a lot. Made me laugh
- 53:03Speaker 4: a bunch.
- 53:04Speaker 2: That's great. That's at I and it's one you already mentioned.
- 53:09Speaker 2: But the medieval time scene, that is what I think
- 53:11Speaker 2: of when I think of this movie. Yep, we get
- 53:14Speaker 2: those two really fun fames from Janine who's just this
- 53:18Speaker 2: dead pan serving what that is?
- 53:22Speaker 4: Yeah, when.
- 53:26Speaker 2: And Andy Dick being I don't know what he is,
- 53:29Speaker 2: the host or whatever, but yeah, I think of the
- 53:33Speaker 2: silence of the lambs bit. That's the thing I think
- 53:36Speaker 2: for from this movie. And we actually just did a
- 53:39Speaker 2: top five where it was where movies reference other movies,
- 53:44Speaker 2: and that was my number one thing that I thought.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Of a.
- 53:49Speaker 4: That's the one that I was looking at because he
- 53:52Speaker 4: breaks a little bit, like he starts laughing at himself
- 53:55Speaker 4: just a second, and I see Matthew Brodak has to
- 53:57Speaker 4: turn away a times on the so but.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Then the the fighting and the jousting and him him
- 54:07Speaker 2: singing the orchestral part of the star track, it's really hot.
- 54:16Speaker 2: He I took that down quite a bit, but.
- 54:20Speaker 3: I only know because I tried to sing. I was like,
- 54:23Speaker 3: he's getting up there.
- 54:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I was gonna I was gonna say he does
- 54:28Speaker 4: that a lot, like he's throughout the movie. He's doing
- 54:31Speaker 4: the music cues, but he doesn't me myself and Irene
- 54:33Speaker 4: like he's known for like and I'm like, you know,
- 54:36Speaker 4: is the music pict or is he doing this? And
- 54:37Speaker 4: then they're I'm like, I don't know how you know
- 54:40Speaker 4: this already, like right most of the time and they're
- 54:41Speaker 4: doing the music for movies, they put it way after
- 54:43Speaker 4: he's done. Yeah, are you are you do you know?
- 54:49Speaker 4: Like on the one when he's climbing the tower, did
- 54:51Speaker 4: he did he do that? And then the composers like,
- 54:54Speaker 4: I guess I'll work around this and just made it.
- 54:56Speaker 2: That's a really good question. He had heard what the
- 55:01Speaker 2: music was going to be and was singing, but that
- 55:03Speaker 2: would be crazy the composer did it to that.
- 55:07Speaker 4: Because it's the way it worse that the composer comes
- 55:10Speaker 4: in after it's all locked right, so like he'd have
- 55:13Speaker 4: to almost do that, or they just I was going
- 55:15Speaker 4: to be in there like I'm like, I'm like, that's
- 55:18Speaker 4: baffling mystery to.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Me, and like, yeah, that's a good job either way.
- 55:21Speaker 2: I didn't see that in the Trivia. I would like
- 55:23Speaker 2: to know that that's fair to look that up.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Yeah you go, oh yeah, it's my turn.
- 55:32Speaker 2: I love both those scenes, you guys have said. The
- 55:35Speaker 2: basketball scene cracks me up so super super hard.
- 55:40Speaker 3: When he's like, hold on, I got to warm up.
- 55:42Speaker 2: I don't want to build a hammy.
- 55:46Speaker 4: Is incredible, and then he's.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Just a psycho in that. I think that's really.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Fall I also love I've always loved since I was
- 55:57Speaker 3: a kid, when he goes to see Stephen in the jail.
- 56:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh Billy, I've said, oh Billy, me too,
- 56:08Speaker 4: Yeah me too.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Kind of forgot it was from this movie.
- 56:11Speaker 2: Is he referencing there? I don't even know what it is.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I don't know that Trivia about it. I like, I
- 56:17Speaker 3: read Midnight Express said it is Midnight Express.
- 56:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a whole thing. There's some tribute that, oh Billy,
- 56:24Speaker 4: it's incredible.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know the reference, and it's still hilarious.
- 56:27Speaker 2: It cracts me up every time.
- 56:30Speaker 3: I also love and it's it's funny now because it's
- 56:33Speaker 3: such like a thing of the past. But the answering
- 56:36Speaker 3: machine scene, he has left like forty five messages and
- 56:40Speaker 3: they just keep getting like the shower.
- 56:47Speaker 4: Just seeing if you're that's so funny.
- 56:49Speaker 3: The whole scene is so funny.
- 56:51Speaker 4: You can't really do those anymore.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Yeah, there would mails now or something.
- 56:57Speaker 4: Yeah, nobody, it's just going to be like a thousand
- 57:00Speaker 4: I've seen that.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you could do a text bomb thing. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:05Speaker 2: for sure.
- 57:06Speaker 3: But I do think Medieval Times is the thing I.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Think of for this movie. Yeah, that and the one
- 57:13Speaker 2: that we didn't really mention. I guess I brought it
- 57:15Speaker 2: up earlier. But the karaoke I think, yeah, that is great.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Jefferson Starship.
- 57:21Speaker 3: I have a question because I don't think I knew
- 57:24Speaker 3: Medieval Times was an actual thing. I thought that was
- 57:26Speaker 3: a movie fabrication for years until I think I went
- 57:30Speaker 3: to Chicago and saw it on the side of the road.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Have you guys been to a medieval time I've never
- 57:35Speaker 2: been to one.
- 57:36Speaker 4: I haven't either, and I I feel like we should
- 57:38Speaker 4: do that.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Is that the closest one to us? I don't know,
- 57:43Speaker 2: I think so, yeah, probably it's gotta be right. I
- 57:47Speaker 2: don't think there's that many of them around, is there now? Yeah? California, Illinois, Texas,
- 57:51Speaker 2: New Jersey, and Florida looks like, wow, all right, well
- 57:55Speaker 2: let's let's plan a trip to one of those places.
- 57:58Speaker 4: It's like a follow up episode. That'd be really that'd
- 58:01Speaker 4: be really dumb. Maybe it would be weird and terrible,
- 58:03Speaker 4: but I'm pretty sure they don't do the jousting and everyone.
- 58:06Speaker 4: You know, probably they don't just let people come in
- 58:09Speaker 4: and start wielding swords.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Was this said in Chicago? I don't even remember.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Oh, I don't know.
- 58:16Speaker 2: I know either. I kind of always I assumed because that's.
- 58:19Speaker 4: The friendship state. What's the friendship state?
- 58:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 58:24Speaker 4: Is that Jersey it's on it's on the license plates.
- 58:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Texas is called the friendship state.
- 58:33Speaker 4: Okay, so maybe oh, Dallas, Yeah, that's going to be it.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Then.
- 58:40Speaker 4: Even though they think they filmed in l A. One,
- 58:42Speaker 4: which is the lawyers do.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Interesting, but yeah, I didn't know that was a real
- 58:46Speaker 3: thing for years after watching this movie.
- 58:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fine, but people would think it came from
- 58:52Speaker 4: the movie, like, oh, yeah, I made this restaurant for
- 58:55Speaker 4: this purpose.
- 58:56Speaker 2: That's weird.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Wow, that's weird.
- 58:58Speaker 2: Restaurant cool, that's fun. I love it.
- 59:04Speaker 4: The other scene I would say is the bathroom the fighting.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Wilson a good call. He love bathroom fight.
- 59:12Speaker 4: He does, and he's so good, like I said, all
- 59:14Speaker 4: of it, Like you see him breaking on it. He's
- 59:16Speaker 4: the powder in his face, just the putting his mouth on,
- 59:20Speaker 4: the hair driers under.
- 59:24Speaker 2: How do you call the dizzy Gillespie B Yeah he does.
- 59:29Speaker 4: Yeah, he sings the thing. At the end he starts
- 59:32Speaker 4: scatting and going with the music. Again, I'm like, this
- 59:34Speaker 4: is unbelievable.
- 59:35Speaker 2: But so yeah, that's a good call. We maybe could
- 59:37Speaker 2: have drafted bathroom fight scenes. Yeah, the two of them. Yeah,
- 59:44Speaker 2: the mission impossible, Yeah, the cocking the arm, the true lies.
- 59:49Speaker 2: I think we've done it before, dude, history of violence.
- 59:52Speaker 3: We have happened because we did. History was number two
- 59:55Speaker 3: work for and all that stuff?
- 59:57Speaker 2: Was it? History promise?
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: The Eastern promises was the one that we always get
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: those two mixed up too. Yeah, I just there the
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: same to me, and I'm like, well, one has a penis,
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: and there's a lot of penis in this episode. How
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: much do you guys edit?
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: We're done.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: It's more for content, not really for this.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I actually edit more things in that would be So
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: what do we want to pick as the ding guy?
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: I mean, I'm cool with the dual dingus of password
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: and medieval.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Let's do that.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: And I think so in honesty, it's probably evil times.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: That's the one everyone thinks of. But yeah, I probably
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: just didn't want to say it. Let's duel it up
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: all right.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Right, we did best bathroom scenes before there.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: It is fantastic. There's probably something about Mary's probably in
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: there too.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it was for sure.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: How do you get the beans above the frames? And
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: I believe what's in there?
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Oh man?
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: What is it about good sex?
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Yeah? Speaking speaking of really funny quotes, let's go to
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: the next section, let's go to show me the money.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Show me the money, Show me, show me the money.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Oh I like that. What do you give me a couple.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: And me the keys? Okay, so quotes I again started
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: writing some of these right off the bat, like he's
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: exploring his lisp a little bit when he's like, I'm
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: kind of a perfectionist, perfection, perfection. He gets the tea
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: out eventually.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: That was good.
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: Little like quotes, a little quotes that he says that
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: they're not saying like, no one has ever said no
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: sweat off, no sweat off my sack. No one has
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: said that once.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: It's never no one caught me by surprise.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: It's just like, please don't say that ever again.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Then he follows it up with, oh, by the way,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: you might want to put on a bathing suit because
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: you'll be channel surfing. And it's so dumb, and I.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Really like it because I love Yeah, I love that one.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: I wrote that down there they're talking through his disability
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: and he's like, that's a fine of five thousand dollars
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: or spend up to six months and corrective correctional. It's stupid.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Surprise so much, specifically.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: I liked uh oh yeah, this the scene and the
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: uh in the password thing. The father Well, first he's
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: like when they get vagin he's like, she got vagina,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: she got vagina, he's cheering that, and then the dad
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: says in the back, I would have said schlong, And
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: I thought that was wonderful.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: I liked when they're in the you know, they're getting through,
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: like where's the silverware in the medieval times? Like, what's
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: medieval times? They didn't have forks or knives? And then
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: he's like, would you like a pepsy?
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: So they didn't have any There weren't any forks, but
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: they had pepsi. She's like, dude, just got I got
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: a lot of tables.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Her answer are so good.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: Yeah, there were no utensils in medieval times. Therefore there
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: are no utensils at medieval times. Would you like to
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: refill the pepsi?
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it's right in the same breath. And you're like
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: in the basketball. I like the little one liners that
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: I didn't hear before, like the basketball. But he's like,
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: let's see what you got, white shadow. Let's see what
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: you got white white shadow.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: White shadow.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: And you're like all right. And then one.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: I do like it.
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: You know, my brother is a speech therapist, and he's like, so,
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: what a word to choose?
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: I'll see.
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: My last one is the when he's going on about
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: I think they're on the satellite dish. And he said, like,
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: reality isn't father's father knows best anymore. It's a kick
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: in the face on a Saturday night with a steel
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: toe gripped Kodiak workboot, a trip to the hospital, bloodied
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: and bashed for reconstructive surgery. And I was like, all right,
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: so we're getting pretty dark. That's a lot of specific
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: information that I feel bad about your character's childhood. Now
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: I want to get to toe steel toe grip Kodiak
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: work boot is unbelievable.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: It's so great, and I.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Feel like that's not scripted. You just throw that out
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: there right then in.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: That Moment's amazing.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: So those are my tops.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Those are good. A lot of those. The Oh Billy
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: is way up, the one that I didn't remember that
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: I loved. When they're fighting, he says, come back here,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: so that I made brain the brain I loved. The trial,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: we get to hear the nine one one call, so
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: this is what it was.
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: Oh my god, Oh my god, my twin brother has
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: been shot. I think it was an Asian gang or something.
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: There was this guy he looked Asian speaking another language.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it was Asian, but it's possible for everyone. Show.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: That's like he's reading from his notepad. That was so
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: funny to me.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: In the.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: The karaoke scene, he's talking about how the girl's looking
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: at him and he's like trying not to say it
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: like out loud, but he's able to say, like with
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: a smile on his faces he who hesitates rester it
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: and that. I like that. That's pretty that's what I got.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: What you got man, that's a good mantra.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: I love that the basketball game when he like just
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: spits out his mouth guard and he's like.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: I love this game a lot. Uh. Then he's like
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: when he's going to go talk.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: To his Leslie Man, he's like, don't kiss her, don't
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: even touch her.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: It'll pay off in the end. And then he's like honk,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: yeah why.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Also, I kind of forgot about this one, but it
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: really imprinted because I've done it all up the down
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: down there Red Nut's going down, We're going down down,
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Like I can remember saying that all the time back.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: It cracks me up so much.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: And then I love when he's talking again to Leslie
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Man and he's so serious and he just goes promise
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: me you'll never go bungee jumping in Mexico. Okay, they
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: just don't have the regulations.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: So good sincere in that point and it just.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: It cracks me out. And then we said this one already.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: But it's so funny when he's just like Stephen, Stephen,
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: My list was gone, damn you stupid son of at
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: so great God, that cracks me up.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: That's good. Nice.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: I remember one. There's one line I remember when he's
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: when they're about to, you know, kick him off the
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: wherever he was the ah he's hanging on. Yeah, when
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: he's like, you know, don't you understand somebody has to
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: kill the babysitter. And I was like, no one under
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: forty five understands what he's talking about.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: I didn't know what. I don't understand what about.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: So it's a that's uh, what is that the Christina Applegate.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: Don't tell mom the babysitter is dead.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: I think it's that.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that reference.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Maybe I'm making that up, and it's like maybe it's
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: but it's like kill the baby. It's God has to
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: be something like that. It's from something.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: So maybe I don't kill her, she just kill her
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: she just but.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: Maybe they're thinking maybe he's I don't know, I don't
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: find that out.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Yeah, because I didn't get reference at all.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: That's what I went to. But when you said it,
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I was like, oh, maybe I'm wrong, but.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: It's yeah, that's that's when faves. Yeah. I love that movie.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Obviously.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: I'm surprised we haven't done that one yet. There's so many.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Movies started, Don't Stop Her, The Baby City, Babysitters Dead.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: I was like, that's not it. That's stallone is.
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: The Babysitter Dead, Mama from the Train.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: That's it. That's the sequel, that's the trilogy.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: I'd watch it, you would. That's all the ones I had.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: I think, sweet, well, then let's go to moments the
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: crying game zero. That would be a zero zero West.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: There simply can't be any No. I was like, maybe
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: when all the TV, when all the TV's dying, maybe that, Yeah,
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: it's not it's not.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Because like even when like the mom is leaving and
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: he's in front of the TV, like that's probably the
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: saddest thing, but it's like not that, it's just nothing.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: This really got me even particularly close.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Really Yeah, yeah, cool, Yeah, let's do a little movie here.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: The scene at medieval Times where the cable guy asked
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: for Steven's chicken skin and performs the silence of the
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: lamb's impression.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Was not scripted. During one take, Jim Carrey asked for
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: skin out of nowhere. Ben Stiller loved that moment and
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: decided to.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Keep it in the film, and Broderick's reaction and his
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: laugh while he's doing it are all genuine.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, fun pretty great.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: It's so ridiculous. There's no way to script that. So good,
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: it's not even something in the movie.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I love that. Another friend over for dinner, dinner.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: Yeah, beans or anything.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Also, just imagine takes there's beans and dumb and dummer.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, see that's great. Deeply affected him.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: I get it. It's so funny.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Just imagine in between takes being like, I need some
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: chicken skin. Can you make that happen?
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Please not tell anyone, like nobody, I don't.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Ye skin foul. So that's bout we just made that up.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: While filming the scene of Chip playing basketball, it became
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: obvious that Jim Carrey could barely dribble a ball, let
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: alone throw it in the basket.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Everything barely. Basketball is one of those things.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: Ben Steeler had Carrie mine the action and the basketball
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: was added in post production.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I also didn't know this, so it must have been okay.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: It's hard to do back then too. It's not like
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: an easy task. It's not the matrix hadn't even happened yet.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Like we're dealing. That is the worst basketball player Jim
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Carrey or said he was bad, but I don't know
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: he had he could have done this scene. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: I mean yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: I just thought that was really funny. While the movie's
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: final gross was just over sixty million dollars domestically and
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: one hundred and two million worldwide, which was just much
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: more than other Jim Carrey movies released in ninety four
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: and ninety five, which all passed one hundred million dollar mark,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: the movie cost forty seven million dollars to make and
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: didn't apparently use a major marketing campaign, so the idea
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: that the movie was a disaster, though, was widely circulated
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: by rival studios and production companies because they were mad
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: at Columbia that they paid them twenty million dollars to
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: star in this film, which was much more than previously,
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: so they did that as sort of a smear campaign
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: at that point, shmear, schmear.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: It was a bageled So that's kind of interesting campaign.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: So when Jim Carrey was negotiating his twenty million dollar
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: salary for this film, he insisted that his attorney and
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: two managers all wear Aceventurer robes so as not to
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: lose their sense of perspective. I don't know what an
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: ACE Venturer rope is. I don't know what perspective they're
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: trying to keep, but.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: I like it. It works clearly worse.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: It's not really important, it's just it happened.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this just kind of fun.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: Ben Steelers shot many of the scenes in the film
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: that dealt with the more extreme aspects of the cable
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: guy's performance. Twice he shot at once like with the
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: more comedic slant, and then once with like the darker, violent,
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: angrier one. And that's why he goes it kind of
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: goes back and forth a little bit because then he
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: kind of like cobbled it together, which is pretty fun.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Judd Apatow received a credit as a producer on this film,
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: but he helped write a lot of the dialogue. But
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: was denied a credit by the Writer's Guild of America.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: He then challenged the ruling, claiming that he wrote a
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: ton of the dialogue and a lot of the scenes.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: The novelization restores his credit as a writer of the film,
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: but Apatow lost in it. Apparently it was quite the
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: intense battle with Lou Holtz Junior over credit for writing
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: the script, and even Ben Steelers said that Lou Holt's
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: version was basically like a silly buddy comedy, and Apatow
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: revised it to make a bleaker and you know, Jim
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Carey then came along with the request asking for like
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: a funny version of classic Stalker films. So yeah, and
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: there was no Apparently there was no physical humor for
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Carrie and Holtz's version, which seems weird. It was like
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: more of a buddy cut, but less physical humor.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: And maybe that was when it was going to be
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Farley too, Yeah, which kind of makes sense if it's
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: just more of a buddy buddy.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: But anything but that I was going to say when
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: when we were talking about it earlier, I was like, oh, yeah,
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: some of the trivia kind of leans that way because Carrie,
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: Carri he requested a more like a darker kind of
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: thing too, like, so it seemed like it was written
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: for Farley and then they were like, hey, let's make
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: it horrible.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: He might want to just show off some chops. Maybe.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I have a couple of no, no,
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: go ahead whenever you're I just didn't want to the
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: I like that Leslie Man like that was their audition
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: for that movie that jud Apatow met her at that
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: point and then they became married later. I met his
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: wife on that on that movie that, Oh that's nice.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: You really kicked his coverage too.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: I was like, oh, she must really like funny guys.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Must I hear a lot about these women. I don't
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: meet a lot of them. Maybe that says more about Jim.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Did you see the one about Jim Carrey's stunt double?
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: Uh, he went to dunk the basketball and like the
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: backward was supposed to shatter, but it was supposed to
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: fall backward away from him, and apparently it did not
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: work right and all the glass was pushed like right
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: into this person's face. Yeah, and the stunt coordinator was
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: fired on the spot. But they used the scene with
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: the like the bad scene in the movie. So that
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: must be weird for that stunt coordinator to be like,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: I got fired for that, and then they used it anyway.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: I'm still going to use it in my reel.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, at work. But hey, yeah, I mean that guy
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: probably didn't want to do it again. It's like I
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: just got a bunch of glass to the face, y'all
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: cut up and stuff. Well, they probably did, Yes, I
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: probably did.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: I didn't expect this to be the movie that brings
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: me down, you know. It's like, yeah, no, that's the
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: one that did. That's where I lost my arm.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Oh and then in in one version of Judd Apata's script,
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: the cable guy gets impaled on the cable dish, but
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: the ending was changed to him surviving. Carrie didn't like
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: the new ending because he felt like his character had
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: to die as a spiritual way of redeating himself.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: And that's funny.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: I can kind of see that. But that ending of
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: like really your buddy is also.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Kind of I love that like.
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: Better.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was kind of fun to make it
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: look like he yeah, stabbed the camera. Yeah, a little
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: bit of a back injury.
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: I had a couple of things to add go for it.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: Larry the Larry the Cable guys manager called them because
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: he was coming up that makes sense, and they were like, hey,
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: please don't call it that, Like he's been working on
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: this for years, Like, please don't do that. And he realized, like,
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: in reality, his his comedy career did a lot better
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: than this movie.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the movie did pretty probably like.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: Maybe if there's a sequel, think about it. And then
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: the other the other one is that uh yeah. When
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: I was reading it was like always seen as a flop,
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: and I was reading that it made one hundred and
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: two million worldwide and sixty million domestically, and I was
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: looking at the run Tomatoes and it gave fifty seven percent.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: I was like, you know, if they really want to
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: look at like what a failure, box office failure would be,
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: there was a movie that only made about six million
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: dollars and the run Tomato scores like thirty percent. Can
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: you guys imagine what that would what?
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: What movie would that be? Chatham was it from.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: Holy Cow. It's like you're reading my mind.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: So I'm just saying, if they want to feel what
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: a real tragedy.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: Is, it was only thirty We caught the pal Meadow line.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: Is that what we call it now? Yeah? Yeah, that's
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: the one seems about right.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel so bad out he was feeling, Oh,
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: the girls are pretty really funny.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: Can I tell you I watched all Meadow for this movie.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: We've talked about how you sneak it in every time.
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: It was still three quarters of the way through that
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: sentence when I realized what I'm really trying.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: That's smart smart over here.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: No, I'm trying to mac in me as much as
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: I can. I love it when you really don't see
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: it coming. That's this one's hard too, because I was like,
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: there's nothing I had. Yeah, anyway, I was looking for actors,
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: like anybody was a producer that was the same note.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: That's funny, all right, that's great. I love it.
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: Rob the do any trivia that we didn't say.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: I didn't. I mean I had all that Farley stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: He had to do Black Sheep, which he was so
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: bummed out about. And then he's like, oh, I could
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: have gotten paid twenty million dollars to be in the
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: table Guy.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: That would suck no matter what the movie is, that
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: would be hard.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, and he didn't want to do Black Sheep
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: and didn't get paid much for it, and yeah, so yeah,
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: yeah that's a boomer. But yeah, well why don't we
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: go to Judgment Day. Will there be a sequel? Maybe no,
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: probably not, I mean the sequels.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: There might be a remake, but I don't think so
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: everyone's still around. Yeah. I do like that they left.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: I mean there is a story out of that. He's
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: like the new And I said, I like the idea
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: of them doing another one with just taking picking up
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: with that life Flight guy, like the guy in the helicopter.
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: And I was like, maybe we can cross brand it
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: with some Jan Michael Vincent, you know, and we'll make
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: like an air Wolf guy situation crossover.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, and he's just with him on missions.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: You know. I like it.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: I think that'd be perfect, is that we can Yeah, I.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: Know you want us to cut that so you can
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: you can do that without.
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: Yeah? No, I I mean I was like, I'll call
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: him and I'll let you know later, like I'll just
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: make sure, like, hey, whoever his son would be, I guess,
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: I don't know, he's probably pretty pretty dead.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: I know it's gotta be right, No idea, maybe Larry
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: the cable guys is So that's.
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: See, it could be a great Yeah. I feel like
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: that'd be a long lost brother situation, like yeah, probably
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: maybe they could do that pretty easily.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be a great family of cablemen.
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: You know, cableman, cableman, the cableman. That's the cable there.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: It is the like.
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: Spielberg is gonna love it.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: Okay, it's gonna be by ambling Entertainment. Let's you guys
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: want to play a game? Do I ever?
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: Five, you're gonna do great this time. I know you
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: are my five favorite actors from a particular film. When
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: you know the film, you're gonna ring him with your name.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: If you get it wrong, there's no negative points, but
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: you won't be able to guess again for that movie.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: If there are actors' names remaining, you can guess those
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: for a point each. The other person can steal if
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: you get any of those names wrong. All of these
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: films have something in common, and it usually pertains to
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: the movie. When you know the theme, you can ring
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: in at anytime for a point. How do we feel?
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: We feel good?
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: Can I ring in like this?
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Yeah? You can, because you're gonna say it. Yeah, let's
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: I was like, that'd be really funny, let's do it.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: I like it all right. Number one, the first name
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: Dave Chappelle. The second name is James Coburn.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: I don't know who that is.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: You would recognize his voice and his face he was
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: I think he was big, like in like the Westerns,
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: but then came up and was like an old actor anyway.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: Number three, well Aarry Miller. Oh. Yes. Number four is
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Jada Pinkett Smith. But I didn't guess what I was.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: I guess, yeah, I only guess. Can't be two of
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: the ones I know.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: And the fifth and final name is Eddie Murphy. Five Yes,
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: Chatham is it? Is it?
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: Bofinger?
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: It's not Bofinger? Okay, I would have said Steve Martin
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: for sure. With that one, you would have said Steve
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: Love both finger, yes, bukes Boomerang, It's not Boomerang. This
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: was a very silly movie called The Professor.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: Professor Chappelle's in that I don't remember he.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: Was. He was at that uh the event where he
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: like turns into Buddy Love but then he kind of
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: like goes back and forth like damn, that's right. I
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: probably didn't know who Chappelle was at that point.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: I can, I can, I guess what the theme is?
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: A yes?
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: Is it professions?
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: It is?
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: Every single title will be a profession. What is up? Wow?
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: Bro? You feel good about that? Doing an extra point
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: for just doing it on one?
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: I feel like, I mean, that is good. It's really good.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: I think you do. I think you do. Okay, I
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: definitely want them.
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: I'll need them. I'll need him.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: That's number two. The first no, not so far.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: The first name of number two is Matthew Gave. The
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: second name's not.
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: Gonna wait huh.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: The second name is Alan Covert. What let me tell
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: very covert. The third name is Christine Taylor. Oh oh.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: The fourth name is Drew barrymore In. The fifth and
