- 0:00Speaker 1: Eight oh five thirteen ten wib A and ask the
- 0:03Speaker 1: experts with Andrew Larson from Larsen Home Services Online Larsenhomes
- 0:08Speaker 1: Services dot com. That's Larson, L A R S O
- 0:12Speaker 1: N Home Services dot Com. Tell phone number six oh
- 0:15Speaker 1: eight five three five forty three forty three. That's five
- 0:18Speaker 1: three five forty three forty three. And we are playing
- 0:21Speaker 1: an intro there EAGLEYE Cherry and the guy's first name
- 0:25Speaker 1: is eagle Eye. And Andrew, Uh, how would you like
- 0:27Speaker 1: a name like eagle Eye? Kind of cool?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Right? I mean it sounds pretty cool.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's memorable, it's it's unique, it's it's one of
- 0:35Speaker 1: those things. Now you were you were blessed with a
- 0:39Speaker 1: common last name with a couple of different spellings. People
- 0:41Speaker 1: always say, why do you always accentuate the O in
- 0:44Speaker 1: the O n is? There are a couple of ways
- 0:47Speaker 1: to spell Larson, obviously most common is Owen, but you
- 0:50Speaker 1: really want folks to do that. And I'm looking at
- 0:53Speaker 1: the forecast. We've got rain coming up, and I want
- 0:54Speaker 1: to ask you about about protecting your home from rain
- 0:58Speaker 1: and the proper guy and that stuff. But real quick too,
- 1:01Speaker 1: on the name thing. Uh, you changed the name to
- 1:05Speaker 1: Larson Home Services and went with Larsen Home Services for
- 1:07Speaker 1: a reason, you really do. And and for folks that
- 1:10Speaker 1: haven't had a chance to work with you, I can
- 1:13Speaker 1: attest to this firsthand. You really do care about the
- 1:15Speaker 1: business to the point and your customers the point that
- 1:18Speaker 1: you're literally putting your name on it.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I think it made it more personal. Obviously,
- 1:26Speaker 2: people had seen me on TV and when we were
- 1:30Speaker 2: the other gutter company, and and and heard me on
- 1:32Speaker 2: the radio and we were i'd like to call it
- 1:36Speaker 2: a big box name, a big box gutter company name,
- 1:39Speaker 2: and you know, when we couldn't use that product anymore,
- 1:44Speaker 2: it seemed fitting to change it to Larsen because by
- 1:48Speaker 2: putting our name on every in the logo, on the building,
- 1:54Speaker 2: on the trucks, it means more. I mean, to this day,
- 1:58Speaker 2: I can't tell you that I don't drive by our
- 2:00Speaker 2: building and see the billboard and lights and kind of
- 2:02Speaker 2: get a little you know, chill. Yeah, you know. I
- 2:05Speaker 2: mean from starting in two thousand and nine with me
- 2:09Speaker 2: and my wife and one gutter installer to man, I
- 2:16Speaker 2: think we're at like one hundred and four employees right now,
- 2:19Speaker 2: score locations. It's like you know, it's it's pretty cool.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It's pretty cool. And I hear people all the time say, oh,
- 2:25Speaker 2: it must be nice, must be nice. Well, you know,
- 2:27Speaker 2: a lot of people don't understand that it started yeah,
- 2:30Speaker 2: fifteen years ago with three people and has grown into
- 2:35Speaker 2: what it is now. And I believe that it has
- 2:38Speaker 2: grown so fast and so well just simply because when
- 2:43Speaker 2: you do the right thing, good things happen. So we've
- 2:46Speaker 2: always put our motto. Our motto is if you work
- 2:50Speaker 2: for us, and you're an installer, you're a salesperson, you're
- 2:54Speaker 2: an appointment ceter whatever you do, it is customer first,
- 3:00Speaker 2: then company than you Now from a leadership standpoint, our
- 3:05Speaker 2: motto is customer first, employee second, then company. Because obviously
- 3:11Speaker 2: without our awesome techs and salespeople and lead setters and
- 3:15Speaker 2: everybody that does everything, then we don't have a Lars
- 3:18Speaker 2: and home services, and without the customers first, we have nothing.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So always doing what's right for everybody, whether whether doing
- 3:25Speaker 2: what's right makes us lose money, we do it. That's
- 3:29Speaker 2: just the way it is. It's the way we've always
- 3:30Speaker 2: done it, and that's the way we will continue to be.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It's it's such a and it's such a refreshing thing
- 3:35Speaker 1: to hear and see and you know to know that.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And again I can speak to it personally, and I
- 3:41Speaker 1: know a number of people that have worked with you
- 3:43Speaker 1: and your team over the years, and everybody has just
- 3:46Speaker 1: raised rave reviews about the service. And that goes back
- 3:48Speaker 1: to is we're going to talk this morning about. Of course,
- 3:51Speaker 1: as we're in severe weather season, storms and rain and
- 3:55Speaker 1: other things. Is a lot of times and I'm dealing
- 3:58Speaker 1: with this down on Edgerton right now. My my, my, my,
- 4:01Speaker 1: poor ring doorbell is being run constantly with very high
- 4:05Speaker 1: pressure people trying to trying to sell and do all
- 4:08Speaker 1: these other things. One of the things that that's really
- 4:10Speaker 1: great about Larsen Home Services is, and we talk about
- 4:13Speaker 1: this on the program, is you like to educate people
- 4:16Speaker 1: and leave the decision completely up to them. It's not
- 4:18Speaker 1: a high pressure anything like that. It's like, here's what
- 4:21Speaker 1: you have, here's the solution we offer, here's what it's
- 4:24Speaker 1: going to cost, think about it, get back to us.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It's no pressure, nothing like that. And that extends throughout
- 4:30Speaker 1: the business as well. And going back to that customer
- 4:32Speaker 1: first approach, let's talk about like some of the solutions
- 4:36Speaker 1: you guys offer specifically, let's talk gutters with all of this.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Man we are. I'm looking at the forecast. I see rain, rain, rain.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yes, yes, I think I need to get you one
- 4:46Speaker 2: of those signs, one of our signs you can put
- 4:48Speaker 2: right on your door that says, don't bother knocking. Yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 2: Larton Home Services got got us.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I do, and I do tell them, because that's they.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Always are, like living there. I was down. I was
- 5:01Speaker 2: down in Edgerton and Evansville right after the storm. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 2: it was. There was just I don't even know. There
- 5:06Speaker 2: had to have been thirty forty contractors in every town
- 5:08Speaker 2: knocking on every single door. And which is fine. I mean,
- 5:11Speaker 2: that's just what they do. That's not what we do.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and and and between you and me, I always
- 5:17Speaker 1: have the attitude of like, listen, it's I get it.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I understand it, and I'm not. I'm never rude to them.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I understand they've got that. That's they've got the job.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. But AnyWho, uh, let's talk about let's let's talk.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We could do a whole industry chat one of these,
- 5:33Speaker 1: one of these more.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna be hey as soon as we get done
- 5:35Speaker 2: here today I'm shooting some more podcasts and we're going
- 5:37Speaker 2: to talk about storm restoration great again because I mean,
- 5:40Speaker 2: Wisconsin just got hammered last week. Again. I mean from
- 5:43Speaker 2: Fitchburg to Oregon to north of the like you name it,
- 5:48Speaker 2: big hail, all the way to Old Claire, all the
- 5:50Speaker 2: way to Milwaukee. So the storm I don't call them
- 5:54Speaker 2: stormers because this is a bad connotation. I'm gonna called
- 5:56Speaker 2: storm restoration companies because it is what they do. But anyway, yeah,
- 6:01Speaker 2: we're gonna be doing some more info. So we having
- 6:03Speaker 2: some more info coming out on our podcast hopefully early
- 6:06Speaker 2: next week.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Follow up Andrew and the team on Facebook and of
- 6:10Speaker 1: course Lars HomeServices dot com. That's Larson L A R.
- 6:13Speaker 1: S O N home Services dot com. So let's talk
- 6:15Speaker 1: a bit about gutters, Andrew, And obviously this is one
- 6:19Speaker 1: of those things that I learned from you over the
- 6:20Speaker 1: years is not only should gutters look nice and should
- 6:24Speaker 1: they should they perform? They also protect your home as
- 6:28Speaker 1: a whole, things like your foundation, your basement, other areas.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Really good gutters do a really good job of keeping
- 6:34Speaker 1: your house solid, don't.
- 6:35Speaker 2: They they do? You know, I thought you were gonna
- 6:37Speaker 2: say something really cool. Like, one thing I've learned is
- 6:40Speaker 2: not all gutters are created.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Well, I have learned that, as.
- 6:47Speaker 2: You know, listen, it's funny I talk gutters. I've lived
- 6:53Speaker 2: in the gutter so long it's literally been almost my
- 6:56Speaker 2: entire life. From the time I was nineteen years old,
- 6:59Speaker 2: I installed gutters. I then moved into selling gutters. I
- 7:02Speaker 2: then moved into sales management. I then opened my own company.
- 7:06Speaker 2: So I've been around gutters for a very very long time.
- 7:10Speaker 2: In fact, so much that when my daughters were like
- 7:13Speaker 2: six or seven, they were over here playing one day
- 7:15Speaker 2: and they'd seen one of our commercials on TV. They
- 7:17Speaker 2: thought that was so cool, and they're like, hey, Handy,
- 7:21Speaker 2: hey Handy, we'd like to be in your commercials. We
- 7:23Speaker 2: can be the gutter girls. No, it's a terrible idea. Anyway,
- 7:28Speaker 2: they were innocent. But yes, I've lived, breathed, and slept
- 7:34Speaker 2: gutters for a very very long time. And I take
- 7:38Speaker 2: for granted the fact that the gutters that we put
- 7:40Speaker 2: on people's homes don't add to their problems and add
- 7:45Speaker 2: to their maintenance. They take care of all of it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And everybody knows that we did a different gutter product
- 7:50Speaker 2: for many years and it was a good product. It
- 7:52Speaker 2: really was. We did literally millions of feet of it.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Unfortunately then we couldn't do it any more, but good
- 8:02Speaker 2: for us. And I truly believe, truly believe, and I've
- 8:06Speaker 2: we've got numbers for service callbacks to prove it that
- 8:10Speaker 2: gutter shutter is the best functioning, maintenance free gutter on
- 8:15Speaker 2: the market. We don't go back to service it, and
- 8:17Speaker 2: if we do, it's typically things with downspout extensions getting
- 8:21Speaker 2: smashed or stuff like that. It has nothing to do
- 8:23Speaker 2: with the functionability of it. So when it comes to gutters,
- 8:26Speaker 2: we want a system that's going to be big enough,
- 8:28Speaker 2: strong enough, with adequate drainage to get the water from
- 8:33Speaker 2: the roof safely down to the ground so it is
- 8:35Speaker 2: not damaging siding, window wells getting into the basement. Because
- 8:40Speaker 2: I can tell you right now, the rain that we've
- 8:41Speaker 2: had the past couple days, this is a soaker. This
- 8:45Speaker 2: isn't like a you know, one inch in an hour
- 8:49Speaker 2: or something like. This is a soaker. Like the ground
- 8:51Speaker 2: is saturated. Everything saturated. Water is looking for a place
- 8:54Speaker 2: to go. This is the type of stuff here where
- 8:56Speaker 2: you know, besides that two three inches in an hour,
- 8:59Speaker 2: this people start seeing slow leaks into their basement if
- 9:02Speaker 2: they don't have a properly working gutter system or a
- 9:05Speaker 2: clean and free flowing gutter system. So with gutter shutter,
- 9:10Speaker 2: it has the size to carry anything. It doesn't even matter, Like,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I don't care how much rain we get. It's not
- 9:17Speaker 2: going to overflow. It's just not going to happen. It's
- 9:20Speaker 2: not gonna sag because of our brackets. The brackets you'd
- 9:24Speaker 2: literally It's funny because when I used to sell gutters
- 9:27Speaker 2: in the Twin Cities, there was a gutter shutter dealer
- 9:30Speaker 2: and their flyer had like six gutter shutter brackets and
- 9:36Speaker 2: on each side of a car tire and a truck
- 9:38Speaker 2: parked on top. And I always thought it was just
- 9:41Speaker 2: absolute bs until we started doing gutter shutter and I realized,
- 9:47Speaker 2: holy crap, they really are that strong. And then you
- 9:50Speaker 2: top it off with two screws in every bracket instead
- 9:52Speaker 2: of one, which doesn't seem like a big deal to
- 9:54Speaker 2: a lot of people, but if you've been doing gutters
- 9:58Speaker 2: long enough and you know that you get lots of
- 10:00Speaker 2: ice and snow in the winter, and it has a
- 10:01Speaker 2: lot of weight to it. We did a test one
- 10:04Speaker 2: day in an average five inch gutter, and one foot
- 10:07Speaker 2: of ice was twenty pounds in that gutter. One foot
- 10:11Speaker 2: of gutter filled with ice, so you're talking a lot
- 10:14Speaker 2: of weight. So I can sleep really well knowing that
- 10:17Speaker 2: when people buy this system, we're gonna put it up.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's gonna look beautiful and it's gonna always work. They're
- 10:23Speaker 2: literally not gonna they're just gonna forget about it. You
- 10:25Speaker 2: don't have to clean them anymore. They're not overflowing anymore.
- 10:28Speaker 2: You look outside sometime and you see a leak coming
- 10:30Speaker 2: from the corner, it's not a big deal. Call us,
- 10:32Speaker 2: We come back and take care of it. Ever clogs,
- 10:34Speaker 2: we clean it for free. It pulls away from the house,
- 10:38Speaker 2: anything's wrong with it, We're gonna take care of it.
- 10:40Speaker 2: So it's peace of mind. You get what you pay for.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's definitely not cheap, but the parts and components for
- 10:48Speaker 2: a system like this, being as large and being as
- 10:52Speaker 2: durable as they are, are actually quite expensive from the beginning.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So a material cost on it's not cheap. But when
- 10:59Speaker 2: you can put it on your home and know that
- 11:02Speaker 2: you never have to touch it again, and if something
- 11:04Speaker 2: does need attention, you just call us. It's not a
- 11:06Speaker 2: big deal. If we're not going to be like the
- 11:08Speaker 2: other guys and say nope, take your brush and brush
- 11:10Speaker 2: the top off. We're not going to be like the
- 11:12Speaker 2: other guys and say, yep, we'll come out and take
- 11:15Speaker 2: care of it. But it's a three hundred dollars charge
- 11:17Speaker 2: to come look at it. Noe. For us, it's absolutely free.
- 11:19Speaker 2: We come take care of it every time forever.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's pretty amazing. And as we talk with Andrew Larson
- 11:24Speaker 1: from Larstorm Services, great day to have somebody come out
- 11:27Speaker 1: from lars Storm Services take a look at your gutters,
- 11:29Speaker 1: take a look at your system, help you make that
- 11:31Speaker 1: determination about what exactly is going on, and of course
- 11:35Speaker 1: they'll give you that analysis. Great day to give them
- 11:37Speaker 1: a call at Larsenom Services. Again, we're just getting started
- 11:40Speaker 1: spring and summer here in Wisconsin. What we've experienced now
- 11:43Speaker 1: and we're experiencing now is a preview what's going to
- 11:45Speaker 1: go on for the next couple of months. So today
- 11:47Speaker 1: is today. You definitely want to give Andrew and the
- 11:49Speaker 1: team at Largetom Services a call telphone number six oh
- 11:51Speaker 1: eight five three five forty three forty three. That's six
- 11:54Speaker 1: oh eight five three five forty three, forty three for
- 11:57Speaker 1: larsenome Services, the website Larsen Home Services dot com. That's
- 12:01Speaker 1: l A R s o N Home Services dot com. Andrew,
