- 0:29Good morning from the Chicken Coop.
- 0:31So today we're going to talk about question.
- 0:34My son asked me which is what's the difference between a wish
- 0:38and a goal? And I thought this was so
- 0:41fascinating coming from someone who's 14 years old and just got
- 0:45his first job, saving money, got a checking account savings
- 0:48account and he hears me talking to everybody.
- 0:53He's very aware of self-development having parents
- 0:57involved in this world and his most important.
- 1:00Thing right now is his job, he's loving his job.
- 1:04He's got something working at a friend's place and he is just
- 1:08loving it. So he's asking all kinds of
- 1:10interesting questions in general, but this one was a big
- 1:13one. What's the difference between a
- 1:14wish and a goal? And I thought, well, this is
- 1:18kind of curious. I'm going to answer it for
- 1:20everybody at. I did answer it for him, but let
- 1:22me answer it for everybody because I think it's kind of
- 1:24cool. So, for me, again, these are all
- 1:27very personalized. Things coming here and listening
- 1:30to me. Me in.
- 1:31These are my points of view so you might have differing points
- 1:33of view, or you might have heard it differently, but for me, if I
- 1:37have something on a wish list it means.
- 1:40Oh, that would be so cool. But for some reason, I haven't
- 1:44put that on my goal list one because I'm not sure how and
- 1:47we've talked about how how can squash things, you know, and put
- 1:51it out there and just be like, okay, it's a squash because I
- 1:54don't know how to do it, or it could be that it would be nice
- 1:59but it's like, oh, It's not like my dream to have it.
- 2:03It would be a cool thing. I wish is something that's like
- 2:07oh I wish and but you feel for some reason you've kind of
- 2:11resigned yourself to the fact that's not going to happen.
- 2:15A goal is something that you really have an intention on
- 2:18making happen. You've really put yourself in a
- 2:20place of saying. This is something I'm going to
- 2:23make happen and you're working on the manifestation of it at
- 2:28the same time you're working on the Tickle pieces of it and
- 2:32putting it together and there is a distinct difference.
- 2:36If you have something on that wish list, you think about it
- 2:41and you just say, wow, it's a wish.
- 2:43It doesn't seem real. And so often, I rarely use that
- 2:48word when someone says, you know, I have a wish.
- 2:52I'm like, okay, wait, let's stop.
- 2:54And I actually pull back from that and I pull back from the
- 2:57word dream, too, because sometimes, We all don't realize
- 3:01we do these things, but when we're children will hear the
- 3:04word dream will say, oh, you know, we had bad dream and go
- 3:07into our parents. I had a bad dream and then
- 3:10they're like, oh, it's not real, don't worry about it.
- 3:12And they send us back to our room.
- 3:14And we start to create beliefs around the fact that dreams are
- 3:17not real. Now, it might seem like a very
- 3:19simple thing but it's actually very, very true.
- 3:21And that's what takes place. So we kind of never believed in
- 3:26the word. We never let it sink, and we
- 3:28just kind of Let It Go. And I think it's really
- 3:33important distinction to recognize that the the
- 3:37difference between having the dream, the difference between
- 3:41having the goal. The difference between having
- 3:45the wish the difference between having the goal is, you actually
- 3:50are focused on bringing that into your world, you are
- 3:55actually focused on it, you don't have to know the how in
- 3:59any of the cases but your focus is where it goes and We know
- 4:06where focus goes, energy flows. So if we put our focus on
- 4:11something, we start pouring energy into that direction.
- 4:15And then all of a sudden things start to shift and things start
- 4:17to change. But when you don't have your
- 4:19focus in the right place, it's not going to happen.
- 4:23No matter how hard you try, it's not going to happen and that's
- 4:26the tricky. Part of all of this is like
- 4:28getting very clear on the fact that you can use any word you
- 4:32want, but it's all about Association and it's all about
- 4:35me. So, if you are not clear on what
- 4:38the word dream means to you, or what, the word intention means
- 4:42to you, or what the word goal means to you, or what the word
- 4:47wish list means to you or the words, wish list mean to you,
- 4:50then you need to stop and think about that.
- 4:52What words are you using in? Are you using him words that are
- 4:55empowering you to make these outcomes happen?
- 4:57Because if you're not and you've been programmed, I used to have
- 5:01really wild dreams when I was a kid and they woke me up and I
- 5:04was always scared and I Often slept on my parents, fluoride
- 5:07sneak in and the same thing I would hear all the time dreams
- 5:11stop. It wasn't real.
- 5:13Go back to bed. It was just a dream.
- 5:14It was just a dream. And when you minimalize
- 5:17something like that, you can't use that word, moving forward,
- 5:20thinking that it's going to serve you and give you
- 5:23everything you're looking for. So I really sincerely encourage
- 5:27you to look at this and say okay what words am I using and am I
- 5:30talking about? You know that big thing even
- 5:35using The words bucket list that can be a trap sometimes because
- 5:38you think oh, it's so far away. So, think about the language and
- 5:42see where you come back to and pick something that serves you.
- 5:46All right, my friends. I hope you have a blessed day
- 5:48and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
