- 0:03Speaker 1: It's a podcast, came twenty five wist whist So, yeah,
- 0:10Speaker 1: it's too.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Bad, But what didn't you expect it's.
- 0:13Speaker 3: A podcast, come twenty five whistline. Oil man. I'm gonna
- 0:21Speaker 3: tell you right now. I watched all of it, the
- 0:25Speaker 3: Suns and Denver. I'm gonna tell you it is one
- 0:29Speaker 3: of the best offensive games I ever seen him a
- 0:30Speaker 3: whole life. Do you watch it?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Oh?
- 0:32Speaker 2: It was beautiful.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It's crazy. I mean, Yokic, he should have won the
- 0:36Speaker 3: MVP just from that game last night. They should retroactively
- 0:39Speaker 3: take it away from Embead and they lost. But he
- 0:42Speaker 3: could not be stopped. I'm talking about little flicks. I'm
- 0:45Speaker 3: talking about post moves. He was so good and him
- 0:49Speaker 3: and Mary were doing too man ball that they couldn't stop.
- 0:52Speaker 3: It wasn't even straight picking rolls. They were just running
- 0:54Speaker 3: two man and he hit. And we will talk about
- 0:57Speaker 3: that in a second. But I was just so inspired
- 1:00Speaker 3: to start training for the league again.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I thought, you're gonna start with the Celtics, So I'm
- 1:06Speaker 2: glad you started there instead.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I started there, not because I don't want you
- 1:11Speaker 3: to have to suffer through this Celtics part of it,
- 1:14Speaker 3: but I just had watched that game and was like,
- 1:16Speaker 3: got it between Booker shooting the eyeballs out Durant just playing.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I mean he was extra passing it to Booker whenever
- 1:28Speaker 3: he had an open shot. It was so freaking cool
- 1:31Speaker 3: to see. Yeah, that game was so it was just
- 1:33Speaker 3: a really great game. We'll talk about it a little bit,
- 1:36Speaker 3: think of very much. There was a parent in Florida.
- 1:39Speaker 3: They had to arrest a parent because he punched a
- 1:41Speaker 3: voluntary mPire on the back of the head. What what
- 1:44Speaker 3: parents do with umpires? How they treat him, how they
- 1:47Speaker 3: yell at them? Wild the umpire's doing Okay, the attacker said,
- 1:51Speaker 3: he was just defending his kid. By the way, how
- 1:53Speaker 3: about not a pet punching him in the back of
- 1:55Speaker 3: the head. You want to punch somebody, big shot, punch
- 1:58Speaker 3: him in the face. At least give him a shot
- 2:00Speaker 3: a duck. Don't punch them. But if you do, and
- 2:03Speaker 3: you got to punch somebody, don't punch them in the
- 2:05Speaker 3: back of the head, you big woos. Investigators determined that
- 2:10Speaker 3: an upset parent punch a sixty three year old umpire
- 2:13Speaker 3: in the back of the head. It happened as the
- 2:15Speaker 3: Empire exited the field gates between innings. There's a video
- 2:20Speaker 3: shows him walking up boom knocking them out. The sheriff's
- 2:23Speaker 3: is the umpire is a disabled veteran and officiates baseball
- 2:28Speaker 3: because he loves it. He loves the kids in the community.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Players and parents can be seen rushing to the Empire's aid.
- 2:36Speaker 3: The Empire had addressed the kid for disruptive behavior. Oh,
- 2:40Speaker 3: I can't believe a kid would be have disrupt behavior
- 2:42Speaker 3: when his dad acts like that.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Put far from the trill.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Wow, w e s eight terrible parent. No more games
- 2:49Speaker 3: to the parent. He can't go to any games, even
- 2:51Speaker 3: high school games, college the kids in the NFL don't. Nope,
- 2:53Speaker 3: you get to go into nowhere where your kid's playing.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Ever again, that's like a piece of crap. That is
- 2:58Speaker 3: a piece of crap, dude, right there. Let's say you
- 3:01Speaker 3: do want to fight an umpire, which you shouldn't because
- 3:03Speaker 3: he's volunteering at least be like yo, ump let's square
- 3:06Speaker 3: up in chunk yep. But also he's sixty six. He
- 3:09Speaker 3: probably shouldn't even do that. But to punch him in
- 3:12Speaker 3: the back of the head. What a freaking loser. Speaking
- 3:15Speaker 3: of losers, Celtics. Now, well, let's go over to the
- 3:20Speaker 3: Tittle Tattle.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Go ahead to name.
- 3:25Speaker 3: The tittle Tattle.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Let's get up.
- 3:29Speaker 2: With these late night games for the Western Conference finals
- 3:32Speaker 2: making it tough to stay up, and I was wondering,
- 3:34Speaker 2: what time zone do you think has it best for
- 3:36Speaker 2: sports fans?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Once I went to Hawaii and the games are like
- 3:42Speaker 3: noon because they're way back. Yeah you think LA's back.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I think it's another two or three hours or something.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And Hawaii was that was crazy because you're watching games.
- 3:52Speaker 3: It just felt odd. It was like, have some breakfast
- 3:54Speaker 3: and watch the primetime game on the NFL, probably West
- 3:59Speaker 3: Coast because they get to watch them all and they
- 4:01Speaker 3: get to finish, even the late games and not have
- 4:04Speaker 3: to be exhausted at work the next day. Imagine your
- 4:07Speaker 3: East Coast and you do get a game starts on
- 4:09Speaker 3: nine o'clock, so that means midnight. If you're lucky, then
- 4:16Speaker 3: you got to get up at six or seven and
- 4:17Speaker 3: go to work the next day. Terrible West Coast. I
- 4:20Speaker 3: would want to live West Coast times. Izon't know if
- 4:22Speaker 3: I got to choose, because it's just too far back.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I don't like it. Too many things have happened, you know.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Lucky for me, I have a bunch of people that
- 4:29Speaker 3: I work with that live West Coast, and I can
- 4:31Speaker 3: call them even when it works over for all of us.
- 4:34Speaker 3: My wife's like, you don't need to bother people after five.
- 4:36Speaker 3: It's only three there. So that's But probably the Western
- 4:43Speaker 3: Pacific PST whatever, all that crap is.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Mountaintome is pretty good. Yeah, right in between better than Central. Yes,
- 4:49Speaker 2: East is the worst. Just go right and work back
- 4:51Speaker 2: and it gets less sucky as you go. Yes, because
- 4:56Speaker 2: I remember being out there during.
- 4:57Speaker 3: The NFL season. I would wake up and there will
- 4:59Speaker 3: be games on at ten o'clock. NFL games at ten
- 5:03Speaker 3: in the morning. So it's like you because what happens
- 5:06Speaker 3: on Fantasy football days or any NFL week You wake up,
- 5:08Speaker 3: you can't wait, you can't wait. It is forever noon.
- 5:11Speaker 3: You wake up at nine to fifteen. You've watched the
- 5:13Speaker 3: clock until noon. Yeah, probably the old PST number one.
- 5:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Next, the players for this year is the Match Golf
- 5:21Speaker 2: charity game were announced last week. If you got to
- 5:22Speaker 2: choose with any three athletes, former or current, who would.
- 5:26Speaker 3: They be Who's playing the match?
- 5:29Speaker 2: It's gonna be Klay Thompson and Steph Curry versus Patrick
- 5:31Speaker 2: Mahomes and Travis Kelsey, Chiefs and Warriors.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Curry is a really good golfer. Is Mahomes or Kelsey?
- 5:39Speaker 3: And are they playing with handicaps? Probably not handicaps.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Mahomes is pretty good because he's played in it before.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I don't know about Kelsey, but he goes a lot.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I see him on Twitter and when not playing charities
- 5:49Speaker 2: all the time.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Curry is really good. Yeah, Curry had a really bad
- 5:51Speaker 3: game in the playoffs and he's just wanted to play
- 5:53Speaker 3: golf next day, and Carr was like, cool, just go
- 5:56Speaker 3: play golf. He played golf and then came to the
- 5:58Speaker 3: Ring and they won the next game.
- 6:00Speaker 2: That's that's a trick.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go. I go Mark Grace first, Qastion
- 6:05Speaker 3: for the Cobs back in the day, still there, I
- 6:07Speaker 3: mean still live, not there as an earth. He's still alive. Okay,
- 6:11Speaker 3: So I go Mark Grace. Two more athletes that I
- 6:15Speaker 3: get to choose to play golf with. I don't really
- 6:19Speaker 3: have like a love for any specific athlete except from
- 6:22Speaker 3: when I was with was a kid, So I think
- 6:25Speaker 3: it would be cool to play golf with. Can I
- 6:27Speaker 3: pick like an old coach like Barry Switzer.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, why not?
- 6:31Speaker 3: Because he played at Arkansas and then went to coach
- 6:34Speaker 3: obviously Oklahoma and the Cowboys. So I think that would
- 6:37Speaker 3: be fun because you get to hear like all the
- 6:39Speaker 3: old stories. And I sat beside I'm on a Southwest
- 6:40Speaker 3: flight once. I was awesome for like the fifty minutes
- 6:42Speaker 3: I sat with them.
- 6:43Speaker 2: You talked to them.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, awesome, it was amazing. Have you ever told
- 6:47Speaker 3: that story?
- 6:47Speaker 2: No.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I got on a flight on the last one there
- 6:49Speaker 3: I was. My connection was slow. I run over jump
- 6:51Speaker 3: on the flight from Dallas to Little Rock and there's
- 6:54Speaker 3: only one seat in the back and it's between these
- 6:55Speaker 3: two old men, and I'm like, oh, they're gonna hate me.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Middle seat set in boom, Barry Switzer talk to me
- 7:02Speaker 3: the whole time.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Wow, it's really cool. That's really cool.
- 7:05Speaker 3: So I'm gonna go Mark Grace Barry Switzer. Tom Brady
- 7:16Speaker 3: would be cool.
- 7:17Speaker 2: There you go.
- 7:18Speaker 3: He's just a living legend. Especially have to like talk
- 7:21Speaker 3: to me about stuff. Is the role they have to
- 7:22Speaker 3: answer any question? I ask?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Of course? Yeah, yeah. Number one rule, who would you
- 7:26Speaker 2: put in yours? I would go Tom Brady for sure,
- 7:30Speaker 2: and then probably.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Manning over tom Brady I'm palling Brady out, putting Manning in.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Ok yeah, Okay, well our team is gonna beat your
- 7:36Speaker 2: team in Yeah, so I'll go Tom Brady. And I
- 7:38Speaker 2: don't even think he plays golf with David Ortiz. If
- 7:40Speaker 2: he does play golfing, I don't know if my guys
- 7:41Speaker 2: like golf.
- 7:42Speaker 3: I just picked him.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, and then I'm gonna throw a gronk in
- 7:44Speaker 2: there just because it'd be fun.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Okay, you're full Boston dude. Well yeah, hey, get some
- 7:47Speaker 3: new hobbies, all right? Next time.
- 7:48Speaker 2: With the NFL schedule set to be announced this week,
- 7:51Speaker 2: which matchup do you want to see the most against
- 7:52Speaker 2: the tees on opening night?
- 7:55Speaker 3: I mean, always a Super Bowl? Right, isn't it mostly
- 7:57Speaker 3: Super Bowl? Don't they do that most times? Do they
- 8:00Speaker 3: played the Super Bowl again?
- 8:01Speaker 2: Matchup? Well, they don't always play each other that following year,
- 8:04Speaker 2: but this year they do play the Eagles at home.
- 8:06Speaker 3: But I thought they always came back that one of
- 8:08Speaker 3: the beginning games with the Super Bowl from last year.
- 8:11Speaker 2: No, it just depends if they're on their schedule or not.
- 8:13Speaker 3: The bull crap. Probably, I would like see the Bills
- 8:15Speaker 3: again because I like the Chief Bills rivalry just straight up.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think that's always gonna be fun. Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes,
- 8:20Speaker 3: I think that's super cool. I'm nervous watching Dolphins games. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 3: Tu said he wanted to retire. Thought about it for
- 8:26Speaker 3: a while. I don't know if I'm even a defensive
- 8:29Speaker 3: player and I'm gonna run up. I think too, I
- 8:31Speaker 3: should just get flags and they pull the flags and
- 8:34Speaker 3: he's down. I think everybody would agree that's okay. Yes,
- 8:38Speaker 3: Tua gets to play flag and everybody else gets to
- 8:40Speaker 3: hit hard. But again, the Eagles will be awesome because
- 8:46Speaker 3: that's that's super Bowl, right m hm, yeah, yeah, so
- 8:50Speaker 3: I would go I would love for it to be Eagles,
- 8:52Speaker 3: but I thought it was always super Bowl. So okay,
- 8:55Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Bills. If it's not the super Bowl,
- 8:57Speaker 3: it's on with the Bills, Okay, just because I like
- 8:59Speaker 3: that rivalry, all right? What else?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Nick Foles? Remember Nick Foles? He was released by the
- 9:02Speaker 2: Colts over the weekend, and I was wondering, which quarterback
- 9:05Speaker 2: do you forget about the most that won a Super
- 9:07Speaker 2: Bowl in the past.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Well, it's not Trent Delfer, because everybody always talks about
- 9:10Speaker 3: Trent Delpher and that can you believe you won a
- 9:13Speaker 3: super Bowl like that is so much and that's so said,
- 9:16Speaker 3: and the fact that he's an analyst and it's said
- 9:18Speaker 3: a lot. Now he's a coach down at you ab
- 9:21Speaker 3: probably Brad Johnson for the Bucks because when the Bucks
- 9:26Speaker 3: won that Super Bowl, was grood In the coach of
- 9:32Speaker 3: the Bucks?
- 9:33Speaker 4: Then?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that defense those nasty yeah killed the Raiders.
- 9:36Speaker 3: But that's why, and that's what comes to mind. You
- 9:38Speaker 3: don't think about Mark Rippin our excuse? Yeah, Mark Repints
- 9:42Speaker 3: want two for the Redskins. Back in the day. My
- 9:45Speaker 3: buddy had a pullover, a starter pullover. You know anything
- 9:48Speaker 3: about that, Kevin, the full starter pullover that goes all
- 9:51Speaker 3: the way down pull over, not like a jacket and
- 9:53Speaker 3: Bert pollover. K cackling't a Ford one, but he had one.
- 9:55Speaker 3: To remember Mark Reppen winning that Super Bowl. Joe Gibbs
- 9:58Speaker 3: was the head coach then. Okay, so that's all I
- 10:00Speaker 3: have to remember the players and when they played, because
- 10:03Speaker 3: I don't do well with the years. Brad Johnson didn't
- 10:05Speaker 3: Mark Rippin, That's what I hated when the Redskins were good.
- 10:08Speaker 3: There's just no need I hated the Redskins. I didn't
- 10:10Speaker 3: even love the Cowboys. That's not The Redskins was such
- 10:11Speaker 3: a losers because I didn't like their colors, even though
- 10:14Speaker 3: they were dark red, red and yellow. It's not a
- 10:16Speaker 3: mix of colors the anger in your face, but their
- 10:19Speaker 3: helmets were gross. I just hated the Redskins for some reason.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Did you like the running back what was his name,
- 10:24Speaker 3: big white guy Hortous? Oh no, what are you talking about?
- 10:27Speaker 2: John? Something that they had when they won the Super Bowl?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Number forty four.
- 10:33Speaker 3: You can have to remind me about who that is
- 10:34Speaker 3: because I don't remember a white running but I remember
- 10:36Speaker 3: Mike all saw it is awesome down with Bucks Riggins.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeahs No, I hated it.
- 10:43Speaker 3: I hated it all right? What else?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Last one with Bronnie James committing to USC over the weekend?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Which star are you most excited to watch next year
- 10:50Speaker 2: at USC? Bronni or Caleb Williams. It's easily Caleb Williams.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Like that's it. I don't even care about watching Bronnie
- 10:59Speaker 3: except see, well, how many minutes is he getting? Because
- 11:05Speaker 3: I think his last name wasn't James one. They tried
- 11:08Speaker 3: to make him a five star and I think one
- 11:10Speaker 3: of the services has listened as a five years a
- 11:11Speaker 3: five star, he's a consensus four star. I watch him
- 11:16Speaker 3: play Sierra Canyon, right, I watch him play as in
- 11:19Speaker 3: like I watch clips or extended clips, which sometimes they'll
- 11:23Speaker 3: show two or three minutes at a time, and not
- 11:24Speaker 3: just him dunking it. He's just a guy on that team.
- 11:29Speaker 3: But to get on that team, you got to be
- 11:30Speaker 3: really good. Don't get me wrong. It's like you're just
- 11:33Speaker 3: a guy on the Dream Team. Well, those guys are
- 11:36Speaker 3: Larry Bird and so he has to be really great.
- 11:39Speaker 3: But they want to get drafted after one year. And
- 11:44Speaker 3: the thing is somebody's gonna draft him because lebron said
- 11:46Speaker 3: wherever he goes, he's gonna go. Is this the easiest
- 11:50Speaker 3: passing pass into the NBA ever? Yeah, because I haven't
- 11:54Speaker 3: seen anything with Bronnie where I go. That is an
- 11:57Speaker 3: NBA guy right there, Like he would go to the
- 12:01Speaker 3: NBA this year because most of those kids that go
- 12:03Speaker 3: first round in the draft after one year in college
- 12:06Speaker 3: would have also gone and been drafted their final year
- 12:10Speaker 3: in high school. Because going into the year, they're like,
- 12:13Speaker 3: this is our draft projection, and mostly all those kids
- 12:15Speaker 3: are already listed somewhere. I just don't think Bronne would
- 12:17Speaker 3: get drafted this year.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Nope, not at all. I've heard that a lot of
- 12:21Speaker 2: people saying he's not even I mean, he's good, obviously
- 12:24Speaker 2: you going to USC.
- 12:24Speaker 3: But when you're compared to lebron and some say you're
- 12:27Speaker 3: a five star. When they say he's not that good,
- 12:28Speaker 3: they mean he's not as good as other people who
- 12:30Speaker 3: are given the same type of credit. Yes, so, kayleb
- 12:35Speaker 3: Williams should be awesome, should be the first overall pick
- 12:37Speaker 3: in the NFL draft. What I will be anxious to
- 12:40Speaker 3: see with Brownie is how many minutes he gets and
- 12:44Speaker 3: how much of a contributor he is more than I
- 12:46Speaker 3: just can't wait to watch him because he's so dynamic
- 12:48Speaker 3: and amazing.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I guess defense is a strong point.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah, me too when I play ball. Yeah, yeah, you
- 12:53Speaker 3: know what, because he's very good offensively exactly. All right,
- 12:56Speaker 3: that's it his name, the Tannel townel all Right's floors yours?
- 13:05Speaker 3: What do you want to say about the Celtics and Sixers?
- 13:07Speaker 2: It was I had a feeling going in that game.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I didn't really expect that they were gonna win. I
- 13:12Speaker 2: kind of knew the Sixers would show up a lot
- 13:14Speaker 2: more than they did in game two. In Game three,
- 13:16Speaker 2: and that comeback was awesome. For a long time, I
- 13:18Speaker 2: was like, Okay, it's not gonna happen. We're down by
- 13:20Speaker 2: a double digits. Most of the game. Comeback was great.
- 13:22Speaker 2: It was their defense and their energy more than anything.
- 13:25Speaker 2: But once again, it's late in games not calling timeouts,
- 13:29Speaker 2: and I'm still up in the air about that. Not
- 13:31Speaker 2: being able to execute when they have a shot to
- 13:33Speaker 2: win the game on both overtime and regulation.
- 13:36Speaker 3: They're not calling a timeout. It's a good discussion point
- 13:39Speaker 3: because if you do call a timeout, you go back up.
- 13:42Speaker 3: You got a shorter distance to go because you're going
- 13:44Speaker 3: to reset half court, right, But also the defense has
- 13:48Speaker 3: a chance to get set. So it's hard for me
- 13:51Speaker 3: to argue that because if it would have worked, and
- 13:53Speaker 3: that's the case always, but I definitely understood the strategy
- 13:58Speaker 3: in it. It just didn't work out this time, right,
- 14:00Speaker 3: But yeah, since it didn't work out, I'll be upset
- 14:03Speaker 3: to Ah I call time out.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And the last time he did call time out when
- 14:05Speaker 2: they ran a set play, it was to Marcus Smart
- 14:08Speaker 2: and drive down the lane. I don't want market, I
- 14:09Speaker 2: love Smart, but to have him handle the ball last
- 14:12Speaker 2: It's like, come on, we got Tatum and Jaen and
- 14:14Speaker 2: Jaylen Brown didn't do much and not his fault, but
- 14:16Speaker 2: the last few minutes and he is he's been their
- 14:18Speaker 2: best player all postseason. He needs that ball.
- 14:21Speaker 3: There's like forty seconds in the seconds left on the
- 14:24Speaker 3: clock in overtime and Tatum hit that three. Did you
- 14:26Speaker 3: feel like it was over?
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yes? I yeah, deep down, I was like, Okay, we
- 14:32Speaker 2: got this, but credit the Harden man. I can't stand
- 14:35Speaker 2: watching the guy play. But credit though in the game,
- 14:38Speaker 2: like he made any shot that needed to be made
- 14:40Speaker 2: he made. He hit the floater less than twenty seconds left.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Knowsn't overtime the three hit Yeah, And when Jalen came
- 14:48Speaker 2: over and helped on MB down low before he kicked
- 14:50Speaker 2: it out the hard and I was like, oh no, no, no,
- 14:52Speaker 2: I could give him two. We're only up by two.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But to leave Harden, who already had forty or thirty
- 14:56Speaker 2: nine points, I think of the time wide open like that.
- 14:58Speaker 2: That's tough.
- 15:00Speaker 3: That line Harden forty seven minutes, forty two points, eight rebounds,
- 15:04Speaker 3: nine assists. The nine assists, that's a heavy nine assist
- 15:07Speaker 3: from Marden. That's really Harden's playing really well.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's like it's one extreme or the other.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Though. He went six of nine from three, especially the
- 15:20Speaker 3: dagger there at the end. Inbeid thirty four points, thirteen rebounds,
- 15:24Speaker 3: four assists, Tatum twenty four points, eighteen rebounds. The eighteen
- 15:28Speaker 3: rebounds from Tatum insane.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, because they were talking about he didn't think he
- 15:31Speaker 2: had two points in the first half, but he was
- 15:33Speaker 2: grabbing boards all over. He was doing different things, and yeah, man,
- 15:37Speaker 2: that's tough.
- 15:38Speaker 3: The Heat and the Knicks. I almost just want to
- 15:40Speaker 3: know who wins. I don't care that much about it anymore.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I don't The games aren't fun to watch.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Right, especially when we watch the other games. You're like, oh, yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 2: so just tell me who wins.
- 15:48Speaker 3: It's like I want to hit sim Yeah, like an
- 15:51Speaker 3: NBA two K you can just simulate the game. Just
- 15:53Speaker 3: sim the game and then let us know who wins.
- 15:56Speaker 3: But the Heat beat the Knicks one O five eighty
- 15:58Speaker 3: six or up two to one. And I don't think
- 16:00Speaker 3: Butler was fully healthy. He hasn't got the ankle injury,
- 16:04Speaker 3: but I guess didn't really have to be. However, he
- 16:07Speaker 3: scored twenty eight points played thirty six minutes. I don't care.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I don't care. I do think that if Boston wins,
- 16:17Speaker 3: they easily win the next series. I do think if
- 16:19Speaker 3: Philadelphia wins, they could have some trouble with the heat. Yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 3: but the Boston Miami rematch is a bit intriguing to
- 16:27Speaker 3: me because Jimmy Butler that last second shot end of
- 16:31Speaker 3: the game last year almost went in from in front
- 16:34Speaker 3: of the rim like that. That's fun.
- 16:36Speaker 2: They scare me. The Knicks don't scare me.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Yeah, me either.
- 16:39Speaker 2: The heat, just because you just don't know what you're
- 16:41Speaker 2: getting nine in a night out and they'll always play
- 16:43Speaker 2: you hard. They scare me.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Lakers whooped up on the Warriors. But it's gone one Lakers,
- 16:48Speaker 3: boom punching the gut the Warriors. Okay, we're gonna play
- 16:51Speaker 3: a little different here. No three Lakers, so two to one.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Dangel Russell had a bunch threes. Yeah, I'll look, I
- 16:59Speaker 3: didn't watch I watch a little bit of the game,
- 17:01Speaker 3: probably third quarter, but I'll just look at the stat
- 17:04Speaker 3: line and see what's up. And I saw Dangel Russell.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Really he already hit a bunch of threes. Man, if
- 17:09Speaker 3: he's putting in points and Anthony Davis's playing. No, no,
- 17:13Speaker 3: let me say it's different. If Anthony Davis is healthy,
- 17:17Speaker 3: the Lakers are my favorite. I said it before. Every
- 17:21Speaker 3: time he falls down, I'm like, well, that's it, because
- 17:23Speaker 3: he falls down a decent amount for a big do too.
- 17:25Speaker 3: He doesn't fall down like MB does. MB goes down
- 17:27Speaker 3: every play.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Everybody.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, MB's standing clapping for a shot from the bench
- 17:31Speaker 3: and it goes in and he falls down. He's not
- 17:33Speaker 3: part of the play falls down. So yeah, as long
- 17:37Speaker 3: as Anthony Davis stays healthy. Man, I just feel like
- 17:39Speaker 3: the Laker Lebron didn't shoot in the first quarter. I
- 17:43Speaker 3: don't think yeah, so he didn't have to. And I
- 17:46Speaker 3: think Lebron is very much okay with his role as
- 17:51Speaker 3: being number one and a half instead of one. I'm
- 17:54Speaker 3: not gonna say he's a number two because sometimes I
- 17:56Speaker 3: needed to be that number one guy still, but I
- 17:58Speaker 3: think he's okay being the one and a half because
- 18:00Speaker 3: he does just go all right, ady, you go, Anthon
- 18:04Speaker 3: Davis'll rebound it, take it all the way down court himself,
- 18:07Speaker 3: then post up, then go up. Yeah. I mean he's
- 18:10Speaker 3: so versatile, he just gets hurt. I just keep waiting
- 18:12Speaker 3: for that injury.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Anything you want to say about that game, No, I'm
- 18:15Speaker 2: like you, I didn't watch too much of it, especially
- 18:17Speaker 2: when I saw the blout. I think they went on
- 18:18Speaker 2: a big run in the third quarter. But if the
- 18:19Speaker 2: Anthony Davis's defense too. You could tell every time the
- 18:22Speaker 2: Warriors try to go in the paint or something, it's
- 18:24Speaker 2: kind of like embiid where he's blocking shots or he's
- 18:26Speaker 2: altering shots.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And lots of tip shots, lots of tip balls. Let's
- 18:30Speaker 3: get over the game that I just I could not
- 18:32Speaker 3: get enough of. I mean, Yokic is so good. They
- 18:37Speaker 3: didn't win, but he does it all. He had fifty
- 18:41Speaker 3: three points, eleven assists. He was twenty for thirty from
- 18:46Speaker 3: the field. Murray had twenty eight point seven assists, and
- 18:50Speaker 3: that again, their two man game is so good. You
- 18:52Speaker 3: can tell they played together so much. You'll be like,
- 18:54Speaker 3: Murray goes around, Yokis, shows where he's going, leads him.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Into the lane.
- 18:57Speaker 3: He's leading them in between two of them defenders right
- 19:01Speaker 3: toward Its gotta be layup, layup, man, freaking booker. He
- 19:08Speaker 3: shot that three pointer in the fourth quarter over those
- 19:10Speaker 3: two dudes at once. Is a heat check. But he
- 19:13Speaker 3: was still hot. I mean both the guys were up
- 19:16Speaker 3: Booker at thirty six and twelve and Durant had thirty six,
- 19:19Speaker 3: eleven rebounds, six assists. I feel like when I watch,
- 19:23Speaker 3: Durant can take over the game himself at any time.
- 19:26Speaker 3: But I feel like, again, he's letting everybody know Booker's
- 19:30Speaker 3: the guy. He is the new He's a new Booker's team. Like,
- 19:34Speaker 3: I feel like I see that with Katie, even the
- 19:36Speaker 3: extra passes, he could easily taken some of those threes. Yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 3: but man, Booker just drilling them last night.
- 19:45Speaker 2: God dang, it was a fun one.
- 19:46Speaker 3: What a series two two. Durant played forty four minutes.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I mean, that's where it just gets tough. Booker played
- 19:54Speaker 3: forty minutes. They don't really have that. They don't have
- 19:56Speaker 3: much of a bench. No, So that's basketball. That was good.
- 20:00Speaker 3: A couple of things I wanted to mention real quick.
- 20:02Speaker 3: We do have more about the Alabama betting scandal. Holy moly,
- 20:08Speaker 3: it's worse than I thought because of who was involved
- 20:12Speaker 3: in it. According to the story, Alabama has fired head
- 20:18Speaker 3: baseball coach Brad Bohannan following an ESPN report regarding suspicious
- 20:23Speaker 3: wagering activity. We talked about this last week. We're like, well,
- 20:25Speaker 3: I just want to know what happened. I would still
- 20:27Speaker 3: like to know the money. They don't tell us how
- 20:29Speaker 3: much money it was. But according to nola dot Com,
- 20:32Speaker 3: there was a parlay involving Alabama and LSU, as well
- 20:34Speaker 3: as a large straight bet on LSU. Surveillance video from
- 20:37Speaker 3: a sports book at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati where
- 20:39Speaker 3: bets were placed indicated that the better was communicating with
- 20:43Speaker 3: Bohannan at the time the wagers were placed. Alabama pitcher
- 20:47Speaker 3: of Luke Holeman was slated to start, but the reliever
- 20:50Speaker 3: was told an hour so before the game that he
- 20:52Speaker 3: would be starting instead. So that information he was told,
- 20:55Speaker 3: he was told, he went and betted. How did they
- 20:56Speaker 3: know by a phone?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Can they zoom it on your phone?
- 20:59Speaker 3: Watch you on talking to any label? My people different
- 21:02Speaker 3: in my phone. That's crazy. The head coach was involved. Bro,
- 21:07Speaker 3: what you do is you tell somebody, then that somebody
- 21:09Speaker 3: tells somebody You don't You're not the direct connection. First
- 21:13Speaker 3: of all, don't do it. Second of all, don't be
- 21:14Speaker 3: an idiot do it like that. There's another one where,
- 21:19Speaker 3: speaking of baseball, there was a Tennessee High school playoff
- 21:21Speaker 3: series and this normally wouldn't come to any of our
- 21:26Speaker 3: you know feeds, except for what happened. And Father Ryan
- 21:30Speaker 3: is here, isn't it? Is it? Father Ryan Nashville? Yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 3: so a Tennessee high school playoff series has been cast
- 21:37Speaker 3: into the national spotlight. But Endsworth is here too. I
- 21:40Speaker 3: used to go over and like put in the Endsworth
- 21:42Speaker 3: little putting area over there. Okay, I don't I don't
- 21:45Speaker 3: know where Endsworth is. Yeah, ends I don't even care
- 21:48Speaker 3: if I'm right, it doesn't matter. Connor Cobb from Ensworth
- 21:52Speaker 3: through a no hitter. Well, but he threw one pitch
- 21:56Speaker 3: too many, pitch one twenty one. They have a pitch
- 21:58Speaker 3: limit for fit the game.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Crazy, Yeah, that sucks.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Pitch one twenty one was one pitch too many under
- 22:07Speaker 3: the TSAAAA I don't know Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association rules.
- 22:14Speaker 3: The pitch count rule allows for an athlete to throw
- 22:15Speaker 3: more than no more than one hundred and twenty pitches.
- 22:18Speaker 3: You know, somebody's watching that from the other team and they're.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Like, Okay, they haven't taken him out yet. If he
- 22:23Speaker 4: throws one more pitch, one more pitch, we start yelling,
- 22:27Speaker 4: come on, come on, okay, okay, he's going back to
- 22:29Speaker 4: the mountain. Oh my god, is this gonna happen? Oh
- 22:31Speaker 4: my god, he did it? Oh yeah, you know some blueser.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Was doing that. Now, that is against the rules. And
- 22:37Speaker 3: I'm not saying that they didn't follow the rules. They
- 22:40Speaker 3: should be punished accordingly, but you know, some loser was
- 22:42Speaker 3: doing that.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I you say, Kevin Nows, it's like eating the other
- 22:44Speaker 2: team's rooting for me. It's like, why is the other
- 22:46Speaker 2: team rooting for me to throw no hitter? How that
- 22:48Speaker 2: makes sense?
- 22:49Speaker 3: Oh? Crazy? Huh. Kevin Duran comes to number ten highest
- 22:52Speaker 3: paid athletes eighty nine million bucks, Federer at nine ninety
- 22:55Speaker 3: five million, steph at eight hundred million, Phil Mickelson one
- 22:59Speaker 3: oh six, Dustin Onnson one oh seven, Canelo won ten,
- 23:02Speaker 3: Lebron one nineteen, Bape soccer one twenty, Messi soccer one thirty,
- 23:08Speaker 3: Rinaldo soccer one thirty six. I think there's something to
- 23:11Speaker 3: that soccer game, boys. Yeah, maybe I should start training
- 23:14Speaker 3: for that instead. Never too late, Tiger Woods maybe over
- 23:19Speaker 3: as a regular player because his main like his normal
- 23:23Speaker 3: caddy just moved over. So that's kind of the sign
- 23:28Speaker 3: that they're looking at, right, Yeah, I mean, but also
- 23:30Speaker 3: he just went under under the Knight for another surgery,
- 23:33Speaker 3: so probably right.
- 23:36Speaker 2: But even if you're that caddy, right, you're kind of
- 23:38Speaker 2: probably saying, hey, I just need consistent work over here,
- 23:40Speaker 2: Like if you're not gonna if you're only gonna play
- 23:42Speaker 2: three times a year, I want to do a little
- 23:43Speaker 2: bit more than just that.
- 23:44Speaker 3: But then Tiger, like play three times a year and
- 23:45Speaker 3: I'll make sure to pay you the same way. Yeah,
- 23:48Speaker 3: then you live a better life not having to be
- 23:49Speaker 3: on the road.
- 23:49Speaker 2: He just loves his job.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Yeah, So Fred Siegel, he has the Twitter and the
- 23:55Speaker 3: Instagram freezing Cold Takes, where he constantly reposts people that
- 23:58Speaker 3: had really wrong takes or opinions in sports. He wrote
- 24:02Speaker 3: this book called Football Media's Most Inaccurate Predictions and the
- 24:05Speaker 3: Fascinating Stories behind Them. Never knew what this guy look like.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I've been following him forever. I love freazing goal takes
- 24:13Speaker 3: so funny. Yeah, here we go, here's my interview with him. Here, Fred,
- 24:18Speaker 3: how are you great?
- 24:19Speaker 1: Great?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Hey, let me say it is weird and awesome to
- 24:23Speaker 3: see her face. Because I follow you on Twitter, I
- 24:25Speaker 3: had no idea what you look like the fact that
- 24:28Speaker 3: there's this real it's like Pinocchio, he's a real boy.
- 24:32Speaker 3: The fact that you exist.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Is yeah, yeah, I don't usually trust pictures of myself.
- 24:38Speaker 3: So first of all, love what you do. I just
- 24:40Speaker 3: want to kind of know that because I have the
- 24:42Speaker 3: book and I want to talk about the book and
- 24:43Speaker 3: some of the stuff here, but I just want to
- 24:45Speaker 3: know kind of the genesis of this. And when you
- 24:48Speaker 3: started it, was it a youth thing or did you
- 24:50Speaker 3: think it could possibly blow up like it has?
- 24:52Speaker 1: No, not at all. I mean I started as I
- 24:54Speaker 1: was using Twitter all the time just for getting my
- 24:58Speaker 1: new is like sports stuff. This was like eight years ago.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I started it as a counter to just sports media
- 25:05Speaker 1: folks reposting their accurate predictions along with your self congratuatory
- 25:10Speaker 1: messages themselves. I said to myself, I, soone should be
- 25:14Speaker 1: the person to repost the tweets and the quotes where
- 25:17Speaker 1: some of those media folks turned out to be wrong.
- 25:19Speaker 1: And I just became that person. I didn't expect to
- 25:21Speaker 1: become big, but it did. At that time, I don't
- 25:24Speaker 1: think Search was being people weren't using Search as much
- 25:27Speaker 1: or you know, going back and finding other tweets as much.
- 25:32Speaker 1: At that time, I don't think people knew how good
- 25:35Speaker 1: the search function was or how easy it was to use.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Is it pretty cool with someone like a Scott van
- 25:41Speaker 3: Pelt or I mean I could list a lot of
- 25:43Speaker 3: the people who will then send you a message to
- 25:45Speaker 3: being like like like there's just talking with you or
- 25:48Speaker 3: whomever runs the account. All takes exposed, Like I'll see
- 25:51Speaker 3: these guys be like yeah, and I'll mention you in
- 25:54Speaker 3: a tweet or something like. That's pretty cool when people
- 25:56Speaker 3: who are like really respected to media acknowledge that what
- 25:58Speaker 3: you do is actually a serf.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's always cool. I mean at first it
- 26:03Speaker 1: was really I didn't even know what to do with it,
- 26:06Speaker 1: but now it's yeah, every time it's school. It's cool.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Sometimes when there's someone who you don't know that they
- 26:13Speaker 1: even knew about the account will tag me in something.
- 26:17Speaker 1: It's so a player or something like that, a good
- 26:20Speaker 1: player or a good coach or a GM.
- 26:23Speaker 3: I get a lot of people tagging you in my
- 26:25Speaker 3: account that I just know, and they're constantly going. You know,
- 26:30Speaker 3: if you see somebody post something even recently and that
- 26:33Speaker 3: they I'll see four or five people tag you just
- 26:35Speaker 3: that I follow because I follow you and them. But
- 26:38Speaker 3: I got to assume your feed is constantly filled with
- 26:42Speaker 3: people who are constantly finding old takes that were wrong
- 26:46Speaker 3: or kind of wrong. Is it just you having to
- 26:48Speaker 3: dive through and figure out the ones that are worth reposting?
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so many. I mean well seventy percent of it.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I get constant tagged with seventy percent of it, or
- 26:58Speaker 1: either ones I've used or one that I just was
- 27:02Speaker 1: tagged to five minutes earlier. Sometimes when something happens, twenty
- 27:07Speaker 1: five people will tag you to the same one at
- 27:11Speaker 1: the same time, so you have to wade through all that.
- 27:13Speaker 1: But yeah, it's great with everybody tagging me because then
- 27:18Speaker 1: they remember. Fans remember what people say, or especially the
- 27:23Speaker 1: reporters the report. Like a person who does TV rate
- 27:28Speaker 1: or radio does a three hour show totally about sports.
- 27:30Speaker 1: They don't remember what they said the day before. But
- 27:33Speaker 1: a fan, if you're a fan of the Knicks and
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know Nick Wright or someone on Fox Sports says
- 27:41Speaker 1: that's something that the Knicks sting. All Knicks fans will
- 27:45Speaker 1: remember that and save it for years, so they'll all
- 27:50Speaker 1: be happy to send it to me. And it happens
- 27:52Speaker 1: with any sport, any team. Sometimes it's just too niche
- 27:56Speaker 1: for me to use. But let's say, uh, you know
- 27:59Speaker 1: Dre women's basketball won a game, someone fan will send
- 28:03Speaker 1: me something that someone said they weren't going to win
- 28:06Speaker 1: the game. Like it's like that any type of sport,
- 28:10Speaker 1: in any type of level.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I have the book here, I'm holding it up for
- 28:13Speaker 3: the camera. It is freezing cold takes and you know
- 28:17Speaker 3: this one's football predominantly. And so is this the first
- 28:22Speaker 3: time that you've been able to make money off of
- 28:24Speaker 3: this specifically?
- 28:26Speaker 1: Well? No, I mean I make money in other ways
- 28:30Speaker 1: promoting whatever people want to promote, or you know, try
- 28:33Speaker 1: and making trying to promote different accounts, our different websites
- 28:39Speaker 1: and their articles and things like that, but mostly on Instagram.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Twitter is harder. But yeah, I mean this is the
- 28:45Speaker 1: first big project I've done, this book. Yeah, yeah, it's
- 28:49Speaker 1: really what I wanted to do from the beginning. After
- 28:52Speaker 1: a year of doing this, I never I've never gotten
- 28:55Speaker 1: into the gambling thing. I've never gotten into and that's
- 28:58Speaker 1: those are the people who try to reach out to
- 28:59Speaker 1: me have me promote their stuff all the time, and
- 29:04Speaker 1: I've never gotten into you just promoting other things that
- 29:08Speaker 1: I know nothing about. But the book is what I
- 29:10Speaker 1: really wanted to do.
- 29:11Speaker 3: So in the book, it's not just a coffee table
- 29:13Speaker 3: book if you're just putting old tweets out there. What
- 29:15Speaker 3: I like is you actually dive into stuff here, as
- 29:17Speaker 3: for example, Bill Belichick, that's a pretty famous one. Like,
- 29:21Speaker 3: give our listeners here because this is such a good story.
- 29:23Speaker 3: I think it would make our listeners go, Okay, I'd
- 29:25Speaker 3: like to read more in a similar vein kind of
- 29:28Speaker 3: give the Bill Belichick story.
- 29:30Speaker 1: All right, Well, so Bill Belichick was. Bill Belichick was
- 29:33Speaker 1: one of the most ridiculed coaches when he was hired
- 29:35Speaker 1: by the Patriots. And one of the reasons why is
- 29:38Speaker 1: because he had been a head coach for the Browns
- 29:42Speaker 1: of the Old Browns before they moved to Baltimore, and
- 29:48Speaker 1: he was the head coach of that team and they
- 29:50Speaker 1: end a losing record. He made the playoffs once, and
- 29:52Speaker 1: then he ended up going back to being an assistant
- 29:54Speaker 1: coach for Parcels, which he had done before with the Giants,
- 29:57Speaker 1: And after three years he was with ourselves with the Patriots,
- 30:01Speaker 1: and then he moved on to the Jets with Parcels
- 30:03Speaker 1: and then two thousand after in January of two thousand,
- 30:07Speaker 1: after Parcels left, he quit the Jets, and in Belichick's
- 30:13Speaker 1: contract it said that he would become the head coach
- 30:16Speaker 1: of the Jets as as soon as Parcels quit. He
- 30:19Speaker 1: was the defensive coordinator before that, and after one day
- 30:23Speaker 1: with the Jets he quit, and he did on a
- 30:26Speaker 1: press conference where he read a note that said I
- 30:29Speaker 1: quit as the New York Jets in the typical Belichick manner.
- 30:35Speaker 1: And he took so much crap from the New York
- 30:38Speaker 1: media right there were articles about how he was too afraid,
- 30:42Speaker 1: he couldn't never be the head coach and all this
- 30:44Speaker 1: type of things, and he quit because he wanted to
- 30:47Speaker 1: become the head coach of the Patriots. And it took
- 30:49Speaker 1: like three weeks of legal crap, and the Patriots had
- 30:53Speaker 1: to give up draft picks in order to get Belichick
- 30:56Speaker 1: because he was under contract with the Jets. And there
- 30:59Speaker 1: were so many articles within those three weeks talking about
- 31:02Speaker 1: how Belichick, how could he how why the Patriots want
- 31:05Speaker 1: him so bad? He has a losing record, he can't
- 31:08Speaker 1: talk to anybody. What's his name from? Oh no, what's
- 31:12Speaker 1: the guy from Adrian watchon Aarowski. He was a writer
- 31:15Speaker 1: for the in like a local New York paper or
- 31:20Speaker 1: a New Jersey paper. I think it was The Record
- 31:22Speaker 1: or something like that, and he wrote that, you know,
- 31:26Speaker 1: Bill Belichick will never be a head coach. He's not
- 31:30Speaker 1: good enough. He doesn't have the people skills. He should
- 31:33Speaker 1: be behind in the basement. Look he filmed, he was
- 31:36Speaker 1: particularly hard. He was a beat writer at the time
- 31:39Speaker 1: covering the Jets, and so when he got eventually got
- 31:43Speaker 1: hired by the Patriots, all New England and Boston media
- 31:46Speaker 1: started railing on. So it was like a month worth
- 31:50Speaker 1: of articles and talk show people just going after Belichick.
- 31:57Speaker 1: And even after his first season they went eight and
- 32:00Speaker 1: eight or something like that, or they didn't make the playoffs,
- 32:03Speaker 1: and think they had a losing record that could have
- 32:05Speaker 1: been six and ten. His first season with New England
- 32:07Speaker 1: and then his second season with Downgland they were one
- 32:10Speaker 1: and three and then Drew Bledsoe got hurt and Tom
- 32:12Speaker 1: Brady came in and everything kind of just shuttled from there.
- 32:15Speaker 1: But Bill Belichick was probably the higher of Bill Belichick
- 32:19Speaker 1: is probably one of the most scrutinized highers I've seen.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Fraising cult takes. Football media's most inaccurate predictions and the
- 32:25Speaker 3: fascinating stories behind them. You can get the book on Amazon.
- 32:29Speaker 3: And what I like about it too is you don't
- 32:30Speaker 3: have to be like a nerd like me that really
- 32:34Speaker 3: likes the granular part of the game. You can This
- 32:37Speaker 3: is fun for that. But also if you're just a
- 32:40Speaker 3: casual sports fan.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Chapters Rolet Hart, you don't have to read the first
- 32:44Speaker 1: chapter to read the third chapter. You could pick and choose,
- 32:48Speaker 1: and it's a lot like the Belichick chapter. I just
- 32:51Speaker 1: go through the whole context of why people were saying
- 32:54Speaker 1: what they were saying, and some could come to read
- 32:57Speaker 1: it and say to themselves, Oh, I can understand why
- 33:00Speaker 1: they didn't like Belichick.
- 33:01Speaker 3: I bet you get a lot of draft like analysis
- 33:05Speaker 3: that was way wrong, especially when draft season comes back around.
- 33:09Speaker 3: You know, I got to imagine people are tagging you
- 33:11Speaker 3: in all kinds of stuff that you've seen one hundred
- 33:12Speaker 3: times about drafts three, four, five, six years ago. Can
- 33:15Speaker 3: you think of anyone offhand that you've got a lot
- 33:17Speaker 3: of tweets about where like this is a terrible pick
- 33:20Speaker 3: ended up being pretty good.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It's polarizing players. Polarizing players. One of them is Josh
- 33:25Speaker 1: Allen Now josh Allen was a mixed bag. But the
- 33:27Speaker 1: people who didn't like him, they did not like him.
- 33:29Speaker 1: There's specific statistics that will be relied upon, whether it's
- 33:34Speaker 1: physical traits, which Josh Allen had great physical traits, that's
- 33:37Speaker 1: why he was so high on everybody's list, But he
- 33:40Speaker 1: had a terrible completion percentage in college, so it was like, oh,
- 33:44Speaker 1: he's only being picked because he has a big he
- 33:48Speaker 1: has great physical traits, and people would compare him to
- 33:50Speaker 1: Ryan Lee back in that time with Ryan Leaf and
- 33:53Speaker 1: Peyton Manning in nineteen ninety eight where Peyton Manning was
- 33:56Speaker 1: drafted ahead of Ryan Leaf and Ryan Leaf was supposed
- 33:59Speaker 1: to be such a great quarterback it turned out to
- 34:00Speaker 1: be a huge bus And anytime there's a big player
- 34:03Speaker 1: or a big guy with big physical traits and didn't
- 34:06Speaker 1: have the greatest NFL college career, Anthony Richardson's one of
- 34:10Speaker 1: these guys who was just picked forth by the Colts.
- 34:13Speaker 1: He didn't have a great completion percentage and he didn't
- 34:15Speaker 1: have a great winning percent but he's an absolutely absurd athlete.
- 34:19Speaker 1: So he's one of those guys you want to save.
- 34:22Speaker 1: What everybody's saying, there's a lot of guys who everyone
- 34:24Speaker 1: thought was going to be great it turned out to
- 34:25Speaker 1: be really bad. Those are fun too, like Josh Rosen
- 34:28Speaker 1: chosen Rosen. Yeah.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Two final questions for you here. Number one, have you
- 34:32Speaker 3: ever had riders or athletes to reach out to you
- 34:34Speaker 3: because you've upset them that they've exposed something they would
- 34:37Speaker 3: rather not have exposed.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yeah? I have, And sometimes it's sometimes I'll take it
- 34:43Speaker 1: down because I you know, I'm not if they believe
- 34:46Speaker 1: that it's going to be harmful to them. But most
- 34:48Speaker 1: of the time they're complaining that it wasn't it wasn't wrong.
- 34:52Speaker 1: They'll say, oh, that wasn't wrong. He didn't really turned
- 34:54Speaker 1: out to be bad. But at the beginning, before I
- 35:00Speaker 1: had a lot of followers, I used to get a
- 35:03Speaker 1: lot of people would quote tweet me or reply to
- 35:07Speaker 1: me that I was a loser or something like that.
- 35:09Speaker 1: And because there was no really repercussion. But once I
- 35:13Speaker 1: got a lot of following out just retweet those people
- 35:16Speaker 1: and they it was a bad look. It's always a
- 35:18Speaker 1: bad look.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Final question for you, because a lot of these shows
- 35:23Speaker 3: now and I could list three or four of them,
- 35:25Speaker 3: they have people on for the sake of arguing and
- 35:27Speaker 3: sometimes people will take an opinion probably they don't really
- 35:30Speaker 3: believe in. Do you ever have to dissect ones see
- 35:33Speaker 3: which ones are actually real and which ones were just
- 35:34Speaker 3: for TV or clickbait?
- 35:36Speaker 1: Well, impossible to do that, bully. But I think inherently
- 35:40Speaker 1: most of the opinions that are made on TV are
- 35:44Speaker 1: for entertaining the viewer, or else you wouldn't have the show. So,
- 35:47Speaker 1: I mean, none of those people are going to say, oh, well,
- 35:50Speaker 1: it could be a good game. You know, I don't
- 35:52Speaker 1: know who's gonna win, but both teams have a good chance.
- 35:57Speaker 1: But that would be boring, it'd be fired. But so
- 36:01Speaker 1: they say things I think that they mean, but they
- 36:03Speaker 1: say I'm a little bit extremely like hyperbolic. But some
- 36:08Speaker 1: people like Pritt, Skip Bayless, and there's others I guess
- 36:13Speaker 1: you can tell right away this is their shtick. Like
- 36:17Speaker 1: Skip Bayless will always say something bad about Lebron James.
- 36:20Speaker 1: He always takes that side, like you can't really take
- 36:23Speaker 1: that seriously. But in the book, it's funny because in
- 36:26Speaker 1: the book I go over in the chapter about Dallas
- 36:29Speaker 1: Cowboys from the nineties, Skip Bayless was doing the same
- 36:32Speaker 1: thing and he does now, but just as a columnist
- 36:37Speaker 1: and he did it with Troy Aikman, and there was
- 36:39Speaker 1: a big controversy with him and Troy Acan back in
- 36:41Speaker 1: like mid nineties when he wrote a book and wrote
- 36:44Speaker 1: that he heard rumors that Troy was gay, and Troy
- 36:47Speaker 1: hates him forever since that, but before that, Skip would
- 36:51Speaker 1: write an article every day about how he hated Troy Aikman,
- 36:53Speaker 1: about how Troygan was terrible, how he'd never win a thing.
- 36:56Speaker 1: He never would do that, you know, just like he
- 36:58Speaker 1: did with Lebron. So that was his stick forever. So
- 37:01Speaker 1: I don't really take those seriously. I don't use him
- 37:04Speaker 1: that much, and some guys like that try not to.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Right here, it is freezing could takes football and media's
- 37:10Speaker 3: most inaccurate predictions and the fascinating stories behind him. I
- 37:13Speaker 3: like it. I was gonna like it even if it
- 37:16Speaker 3: was a coffee table book, cause I thought that would
- 37:17Speaker 3: be interesting. But it's even better that it's like and
- 37:20Speaker 3: I don't want to say in depth because I don't
- 37:22Speaker 3: want people to think that it's so inside baseball that
- 37:24Speaker 3: you can understand it. But there's some really great information
- 37:26Speaker 3: here that I feel like, and you just tell a
- 37:30Speaker 3: story through what you do. It's not even that you're like, look,
- 37:33Speaker 3: how wrong everybody was. You're able to kind of recount Yeah,
- 37:36Speaker 3: you're able to kind of recount history, real fun, big
- 37:39Speaker 3: parts of history through what you do every single day. Hey,
- 37:42Speaker 3: A big fan of your feeds obviously. And the part
- 37:46Speaker 3: of the book that I have, Rex, I'm gonna finish
- 37:48Speaker 3: the whole thing is really great. And thank you for
- 37:50Speaker 3: the time. Fred, really appreciate it. Good luck with the book.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Thanks so much. I appreciate Okay.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Thank you, Tretzie. We got to check out the book again.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Really good, really easy to read. We're done. I go
- 38:03Speaker 3: with my final thought. First, first of all, read here
- 38:05Speaker 3: is your putter. Read is lucky that I'm left handed,
- 38:13Speaker 3: but because you can come good if you want. Okay,
- 38:14Speaker 3: because I'm left handed.
- 38:16Speaker 1: You can have your own putter head covered.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Because I'm left handed. And I, you know, have a
- 38:23Speaker 3: deal with Cobra. They give me a lot of great stuff.
- 38:28Speaker 3: And I went and did a putter fitting with Cobra.
- 38:31Speaker 3: I didn't know that you need to put. They had
- 38:33Speaker 3: all these analytics on me putting, but I don't know
- 38:36Speaker 3: that I could go and put the same way today.
- 38:37Speaker 3: I think it's just like the day I'm not good
- 38:39Speaker 3: enough to be consistent even in my inconsistent analytics, right,
- 38:42Speaker 3: but still getting a new putter and I'm not used
- 38:45Speaker 3: that one, but like once and so I read it's
- 38:48Speaker 3: left handed. He gets it. Read Just there you go, buddy,
- 38:51Speaker 3: Thank you man. I appreciate it. So my final thought
- 38:53Speaker 3: is that. And secondly, what is the driving round? Just
- 38:55Speaker 3: crushing it? God? I mean, I was hitting it so good.
- 38:58Speaker 3: I'm like, yes, maybe let's go have a simulator freaking
- 39:02Speaker 3: laying it out like I'm I shot one over through nine,
- 39:05Speaker 3: It's played nine holes, went to the course. I'm broken
- 39:08Speaker 3: in my brain. I don't know. I'm broken reading I
- 39:11Speaker 3: went twice.
- 39:12Speaker 2: I'm broken, really right, it's all in your head now.
- 39:15Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I don't know, dude. I don't know because I get
- 39:19Speaker 3: on a court out somewhere and I don't really get
- 39:22Speaker 3: nervo or I don't let that kind of stuff affect
- 39:24Speaker 3: me so much. I'm not super comfortable playing golf front
- 39:27Speaker 3: of others, but I've been a fair golfer for a while.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I can't even get the ball in the air to
- 39:33Speaker 3: where I'm like, what's happening? I thought one time, Okay,
- 39:36Speaker 3: maybe my body's it's been like reading. I played golf
- 39:38Speaker 3: twice small, we did like a part of three nine,
- 39:42Speaker 3: we did another and just bizarre, dang, something's broken in
- 39:48Speaker 3: my brain. Reader, What would you like to say about that?
- 39:50Speaker 1: Uh?
- 39:51Speaker 5: Oh yeah, going on that. I mean you even similar video.
- 39:53Speaker 5: As soon as we got done, I went right home
- 39:55Speaker 5: and got the simulators, like not even looking at the
- 39:58Speaker 5: ball and yeah. Just but my aunt came up this
- 40:04Speaker 5: weekend and I was trying to entertain her, but also
- 40:07Speaker 5: I really wanted to play golf too, so I took
- 40:08Speaker 5: her out on the course with me and no. Man, Yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 5: but so I didn't know if I was gonna get
- 40:17Speaker 5: paired up with people or not. So we go out there,
- 40:19Speaker 5: and of course we get paired up with two guys.
- 40:22Speaker 3: And these guys are studs.
- 40:24Speaker 2: They they looked the part.
- 40:26Speaker 5: I know, they're incredible, and they played incredible. And so
- 40:30Speaker 5: the whole the whole time I'm playing, I have to
- 40:32Speaker 5: deal with me hitting a shot. I can shake it
- 40:34Speaker 5: into the woods, and she's over at the cart going yay.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Yeah, man, that's funny. I probably thought that was your girlfriend.
- 40:45Speaker 5: God, guys, I don't know, man, was it was Uh,
- 40:49Speaker 5: it was rough but you know you want rough you
- 40:52Speaker 5: saw me.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. Its way rougher. Then your aunt cheering
- 40:56Speaker 3: for you, giving you love and support. That is true.
- 40:59Speaker 5: That is But when you shake it to the woods
- 41:01Speaker 5: and she goes yay, and I'm just.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Like, m almost at someone's car, is that making it worse? Yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 3: that's what I mean.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I'm like, no, this is not a yea good? All right, Kevin,
- 41:12Speaker 2: let's continue the golf talk here. I just want to
- 41:14Speaker 2: say thank you again for Friday. Went and got fitted.
- 41:17Speaker 2: It was awesome, had a lot of fun reading and
- 41:19Speaker 2: I and you were there. You were hitting it great there.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 3: First I wasn't and then I was like, ask, screw this,
- 41:24Speaker 3: I'm just gonna hit it like a baby baby. Yeah,
- 41:26Speaker 3: and it's fine. I hate like a baby baby, but
- 41:28Speaker 3: I was like twenty yards shorter, so I was like,
- 41:30Speaker 3: I gotta hit like a bababy everything. Laugh me for
- 41:32Speaker 3: like a baybaby. I don't know what. My brain's broken,
- 41:35Speaker 3: but it was straight. My brain's broken, and it looked
- 41:37Speaker 3: good and it sounded good. My brain's broken. I don't
- 41:39Speaker 3: know what the problem is. I have a golf tournament
- 41:42Speaker 3: next week. I'm supposed to play in I got a
- 41:44Speaker 3: big game this week. I'm supposed to play in with
- 41:46Speaker 3: like fancy people. I don't even want to play. I've
- 41:50Speaker 3: never not wanted to.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Play dang that much, huh.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I've never won. Yeah, because it's not physical, and my
- 41:56Speaker 3: swing feels great and my swing is effective on the range,
- 42:04Speaker 3: just puring them five irons, drivers, wedges, simulator puring them.
- 42:12Speaker 3: I got on the course. I don't even know which
- 42:15Speaker 3: end of the I was holding the head, so I
- 42:18Speaker 3: swing the bottom.
- 42:19Speaker 2: It is so bad with the grip. God, see, I
- 42:21Speaker 2: would have been able to see that if you know.
- 42:24Speaker 2: An invite actually Sunday.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Actually we invited you on Saturday. You said no, we
- 42:28Speaker 3: got the Celtics game to play. That was Friday, whatever
- 42:30Speaker 3: the day was, I don't remember. Then we did invite
- 42:33Speaker 3: you to each other read and I I said, let's
- 42:36Speaker 3: invite Kevin because I only had a brief window to play.
- 42:39Speaker 3: And he goes cool, and then he goes, oh, there's
- 42:42Speaker 3: only the only spot for two on this reservation, so
- 42:44Speaker 3: we only could put two on there, and said you
- 42:45Speaker 3: already turned us down. We were like scream, so well.
- 42:49Speaker 2: The vest is He texted me, Hey, you want to
- 42:51Speaker 2: go golfing? Blah blah blah. Yeah five minutes they don't
- 42:53Speaker 2: get a call. Hey, so yeah, that must happen.
- 42:56Speaker 3: I couldn't text. All right, you guys, having great rest
- 43:00Speaker 3: of the day. We'll see you when we see you
- 43:01Speaker 3: by Everybody. Theme song written by Bobby Bones and performed
