- 1:59Speaker 2: A good friend the lovely, the talented. You know where
- 2:02Speaker 2: you love her. It's Millie Snyder. How are you doing, Mellie.
- 2:05Speaker 4: That's a lovely introduction. Thank you so much.
- 2:07Speaker 2: You should just hire me as your hype person engagements
- 2:11Speaker 2: and I'm going to give that some real I can
- 2:13Speaker 2: go to ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages. Would
- 2:15Speaker 2: you please make a welcome? You know that was good
- 2:18Speaker 2: that used to children of all people of all ages,
- 2:22Speaker 2: all weights, all uh all all eating habits. Your eating
- 2:26Speaker 2: habits are about to change.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I hope so, because right now, this time of the year,
- 2:33Speaker 4: this is the this is the time that I often
- 2:36Speaker 4: think about with the true reckless abandon that everybody else
- 2:41Speaker 4: has because if it is I think I said it earlier,
- 2:45Speaker 4: if it is a nail down and not crawling, people
- 2:48Speaker 4: will eat it because they have said to themselves, I'm
- 2:52Speaker 4: going to do what I want until New Year's and
- 2:55Speaker 4: then I'm going to start my diet right again and
- 2:59Speaker 4: again and again, and then by January.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I think the optimal day I read one time is
- 3:03Speaker 2: like January the tenth.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Why is that after Supervilla?
- 3:07Speaker 2: No, No, that's before the supermol. Most people that make
- 3:10Speaker 2: New Year's resolutions about eating or exercise. They make it
- 3:12Speaker 2: to somewhere between January the fifth and the tenth, and
- 3:16Speaker 2: something happens, and that's that's about as far as it goes.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I mean, that's overall.
- 3:21Speaker 4: What we should just explore is what is that something
- 3:24Speaker 4: that happens? Yeah, that would be a very interesting commentary.
- 3:28Speaker 2: They get hungry, that's what it is.
- 3:29Speaker 4: And you know, over the years of my devoting myself
- 3:32Speaker 4: to helping people help themselves, in the years of weight Watchers,
- 3:37Speaker 4: I absolutely loved what I did. I absolutely loved teaching
- 3:42Speaker 4: the Mediterranean. But the point that I want to make
- 3:45Speaker 4: there are a lot of people who think that they
- 3:47Speaker 4: are on the Mediterranean, but it's their version of the Mediterranean.
- 3:52Speaker 4: And one of the examples that I want to share
- 3:55Speaker 4: is years ago when I was the franchisee for weight Watchers,
- 3:59Speaker 4: this woman yelled at me across the street and she said, hey, Millie,
- 4:04Speaker 4: she said, I'm on your program. I said, great, I said,
- 4:08Speaker 4: what meeting do you go to? She says, I don't
- 4:10Speaker 4: go to the meetings. I just buy the dinners in
- 4:12Speaker 4: the supermarket. And so my point is there are so
- 4:16Speaker 4: many people who think that they're doing it because they
- 4:19Speaker 4: saw it in a magazine or they saw it on
- 4:21Speaker 4: the internet, but they really and truly are not doing
- 4:25Speaker 4: the true essence of what the Mediterranean lifestyle is truly
- 4:30Speaker 4: all about, and it is about improving the quality of
- 4:34Speaker 4: your life. Yes, you lose weight, but you also get healthier.
- 4:38Speaker 4: And you know, we can refer back to that incredible
- 4:41Speaker 4: story that you shared with me that was in the
- 4:44Speaker 4: Wall Street Journal, that woman who made it to one
- 4:47Speaker 4: hundred and seventeen. And there are people who've given me
- 4:50Speaker 4: an argument about that, I don't want to live to
- 4:52Speaker 4: one hundred and seventeen. Why because there won't be anybody
- 4:56Speaker 4: to talk to. I understand that too, But the fact
- 5:00Speaker 4: that you could get to that age is pretty powerful,
- 5:03Speaker 4: and it comes from in her case and all the
- 5:07Speaker 4: things that make her who she was healthy.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And this particular case, this wasn't a person who'd said
- 5:13Speaker 2: I'm going to go all Mediterranean. That was just that's
- 5:15Speaker 2: what people ate, you know, around where she where she lived,
- 5:19Speaker 2: was a normal that was a normal.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Diet, that was the lifestyle where she lived. And if
- 5:25Speaker 4: more people would do that here, we would have a
- 5:28Speaker 4: much healthier West Virginia. And that's true. If I can,
- 5:35Speaker 4: I mean, I'm always looking for, you know, former weight
- 5:38Speaker 4: Watchers who could open up more Mediterranean groups who are
- 5:43Speaker 4: no longer associated with weight Watchers. It would be so
- 5:46Speaker 4: wonderful to make our meetings available to that many more people,
- 5:51Speaker 4: because right now we only have a Thursday morning and
- 5:54Speaker 4: a Thursday evening and two different people teach that I
- 5:57Speaker 4: teach the Thursday morning and Carmela crawl For teaches Thursday night.
- 6:01Speaker 4: But I hope to get some more open and we will.
- 6:05Speaker 4: But it's nice to find people who have that mentality
- 6:09Speaker 4: and are sympathetic but not feeling sorry for but to
- 6:14Speaker 4: the issue of obesity. And it's nothing, not even for
- 6:19Speaker 4: a half second to laugh at or joke about. It's
- 6:23Speaker 4: a very serious problem and we want to help people
- 6:26Speaker 4: the right way. We want to help them help themselves.
- 6:30Speaker 2: You brought up about the weight Watchers dinners, and I'm
- 6:34Speaker 2: not specifically speaking of weight watch I'm talking about the
- 6:36Speaker 2: quote unquote healthy meals that you see in the frozen
- 6:39Speaker 2: in the frozen food section and you know, the lean
- 6:42Speaker 2: cuisines and stuff like that. Go look at the ingredients
- 6:46Speaker 2: of those. Yeah, they may not have as many calories,
- 6:49Speaker 2: or they may not have this or that, but look
- 6:51Speaker 2: at what is in it it Sometimes maybe the calories
- 6:55Speaker 2: might be better for you when you look at the
- 6:57Speaker 2: chemicals that are in those things.
- 6:59Speaker 4: And that's the point has to be made because all
- 7:01Speaker 4: of that, and even in the days of my weight
- 7:04Speaker 4: watcher's life, which was only forty seven years, so I
- 7:07Speaker 4: don't want to say I did it too long. Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 4: the highly processed content is what we ate. But we
- 7:14Speaker 4: didn't pay attention to that during the time of weight Watchers.
- 7:19Speaker 4: But boy, do I pay attention to that now that
- 7:22Speaker 4: I am doing the Mediterranean And by the way, I've
- 7:25Speaker 4: been teaching Mediterranean now a little over eight years and
- 7:29Speaker 4: I'm excited about that.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And you get those we're going to get to your classes.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And you mentioned earlier a little bit later on, but
- 7:34Speaker 2: you know it is this is the final time we'll
- 7:36Speaker 2: have you on the on the air in this year.
- 7:39Speaker 2: And you mentioned it is the holiday season. Happy Honkah
- 7:42Speaker 2: to you, by the way, way, Happy Honikah, Merry Christmas,
- 7:44Speaker 2: all the things to everybody. It is difficult, though, there's
- 7:48Speaker 2: no question because when.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I'm not going to make a joke about that, it
- 7:52Speaker 4: is you.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Get to gatherings and this is the baking season, and
- 7:56Speaker 2: you know, everybody's bringing in.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Everybody has to bring their newest recipe.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody's got this, and everybody's got that, and so
- 8:03Speaker 2: on and so forth. But how do you how do
- 8:04Speaker 2: you maintain that? Because you you know, you you want to.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I know moderation is the key. Everybody talks about matter
- 8:12Speaker 2: and you're right, moderation is the key. But but but
- 8:15Speaker 2: how do you balance that? You know that tightrope if
- 8:18Speaker 2: you have a giant family gathering and you don't want
- 8:20Speaker 2: to you want to make an aunt maud mad you
- 8:22Speaker 2: know when she brings on.
- 8:25Speaker 4: I don't want to be on her bad list for sure.
- 8:28Speaker 4: But the way to do that is do the very
- 8:31Speaker 4: best you can and do a little bit of tasting
- 8:34Speaker 4: small portions, move your food around and try to avoid
- 8:37Speaker 4: picking up those things that you absolutely know are just
- 8:42Speaker 4: overloaded with sugar and fat. And believe me, the fat
- 8:47Speaker 4: wasn't the healthy kind.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Now not to help, but.
- 8:49Speaker 4: You do the best you can. You don't want to
- 8:51Speaker 4: sit there and say, oh my good ecluse I'm trying
- 8:54Speaker 4: to lose on. This is not the time to try
- 8:57Speaker 4: to lose weight. This is the time to be a
- 8:59Speaker 4: good friend to yourself and do the very best that
- 9:02Speaker 4: you can, and know that when you get to your
- 9:06Speaker 4: breaking point and you know you're ready to start again,
- 9:09Speaker 4: make sure you do some homework. Make sure the ingredients
- 9:14Speaker 4: are pure and clean. And that's what Mediterranean is all about.
- 9:18Speaker 4: It's like a woman said to me, uh, and this
- 9:21Speaker 4: is when I was just starting Mediterranean. She stopped me
- 9:24Speaker 4: in Kroger's and she said, Millie, I really like you,
- 9:27Speaker 4: but I cannot come to your Mediterranean group. I said why,
- 9:30Speaker 4: She said, because I don't eat homess.
- 9:33Speaker 2: You told me that story before I did. I. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 2: I love it. I love that story because there's a.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Lot because homas is the only thing you eat on.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's all a day, that's all you get.
- 9:43Speaker 4: That's exactly right. And so there's so many there's so
- 9:46Speaker 4: many misconceptions. I met someone the other day while doing
- 9:50Speaker 4: some grocery shopping, and a lot of people know that
- 9:53Speaker 4: I teach Mediterranean, and this person chose to tell me
- 9:57Speaker 4: that he is doing it on his own. And I said, well,
- 10:00Speaker 4: tell me what you eat, and what he told me
- 10:03Speaker 4: he eats is not the Mediterranean lifestyle. But that's what
- 10:08Speaker 4: he told me he's doing. And he told me that
- 10:11Speaker 4: the reason he looked up the Mediterranean is because he
- 10:14Speaker 4: has some health issues. So now that we've addressed the
- 10:18Speaker 4: fact that there's some health issues, I think we owe
- 10:20Speaker 4: it to ourselves to come to a group learn how
- 10:23Speaker 4: to do it because group support is a major factor.
- 10:27Speaker 4: It is, and you don't always learn it from the leader.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Sometimes you learn it from another member who shares an
- 10:33Speaker 4: experience and other people chime in. Group support is very,
- 10:38Speaker 4: very valuable and it's used in so many different modality.
- 10:41Speaker 2: H it is. We're talking to Millie Snyder today. Vallen

- 11:05Speaker 2: I come to your house on you know, in the
- 11:07Speaker 2: next couple of weeks, maybe when you have your family
- 11:09Speaker 2: gathering or whatever, Well.
- 11:11Speaker 4: We will tonight. We're going to have a honic of celibrator.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I was going to say, what's that look like from
- 11:16Speaker 2: a food standpoint.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Well, we're having potato lotkes, okay, And that's simply as
- 11:22Speaker 4: potatoes that are going to be fried in olive oil, okay,
- 11:25Speaker 4: and then having some chicken and some vegetables and a
- 11:30Speaker 4: ginormous salad. And my grandson is baking a cake. He's
- 11:34Speaker 4: got that gift. And probably I will say how pretty
- 11:39Speaker 4: it is, but cake is no longer my thing. I
- 11:42Speaker 4: don't eat sugar anymore. But we'll have plenty of fresh
- 11:45Speaker 4: fruit and I will dive into that almost head first.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Got a text here says, oh, I just got out
- 11:50Speaker 2: of the shower and heard Milly coming on. I love
- 11:52Speaker 2: when Milly's on. Maybe she can turn a few more
- 11:54Speaker 2: people away from eating all the crap that they do
- 11:56Speaker 2: added sugars, greasy salty foods, et cetera. Amen, appreciate the text.
- 12:01Speaker 2: We could have done without the without the added detail
- 12:04Speaker 2: that they just got out of the shower. But that's okay.
- 12:06Speaker 4: So now I'm trying to get a vision of all that,
- 12:08Speaker 4: and I don't want to discuss.
- 12:10Speaker 2: All right, all right, So New Year's resolutions, and we
- 12:14Speaker 2: talked about it at the beginning of the Segmentally, everybody,
- 12:16Speaker 2: well I honestly everybody makes them, but a lot of
- 12:17Speaker 2: people do. They always say that if you're going to
- 12:20Speaker 2: start something, whether it's a healthy eating or exercise, the
- 12:23Speaker 2: tide they do it is now not to set a
- 12:25Speaker 2: date and completely gorge yourself up. Unto that point, go
- 12:28Speaker 2: January first, I'm done, you know, midnight, December thirty first,
- 12:32Speaker 2: I'm done. But what if people wanted to set out,
- 12:36Speaker 2: whether it's January first, whether it's June first, if they
- 12:39Speaker 2: wanted to set out on a healthy lifestyle with exercise
- 12:42Speaker 2: and eating where you know, obviously coming to your meetings,
- 12:46Speaker 2: But where's a good place to start? I mean, what
- 12:48Speaker 2: do they need to do? Obviously coming to your meetings
- 12:50Speaker 2: is number one, but what else?
- 12:52Speaker 4: They need to have an about them self attitude, knowing
- 12:57Speaker 4: that they're worth the time and the energy that it
- 13:00Speaker 4: takes to learn a new way of eating, and they
- 13:03Speaker 4: need to feel good about who they are, not just
- 13:06Speaker 4: having this added I'm fat, I'm miserable. If I don't
- 13:09Speaker 4: lose weight, I'm going to die. All of those factors
- 13:12Speaker 4: may be true, but you need to feel good about
- 13:15Speaker 4: yourself and not see yourself in the worst possible image.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Because negativity and negative self talk doesn't help us bridge
- 13:26Speaker 4: a gap, it helps us stay in that place. So
- 13:30Speaker 4: we need to say, Okay, I've got a weight problem,
- 13:33Speaker 4: and I'm going to begin taking the steps and learn
- 13:36Speaker 4: how to do old things differently. We don't want you
- 13:39Speaker 4: to stop eating. In fact, you'll probably eat more and
- 13:43Speaker 4: better on Mediterranean than you've ever eaten. And it's an
- 13:46Speaker 4: amazing concept to learn.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And it tastes good.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, everything everything, love.
- 13:52Speaker 2: It everything, all right. Tell remind people we.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Need Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. It's sixteen hundred Canal Boulevard
- 14:00Speaker 4: at Elizabeth Street, plenty of parking, and the folks at
- 14:06Speaker 4: Trinity are just wonderful to work with and they open
- 14:09Speaker 4: their church to so many different groups throughout the Canal Valley.
- 14:14Speaker 4: So there it's a good place to be. And we
- 14:17Speaker 4: do that Thursday morning at ten o'clock. And also the
- 14:21Speaker 4: way in is at nine thirty. The meeting starts at
- 14:23Speaker 4: ten and then we have a second class on Thursday
- 14:27Speaker 4: evening that's five thirty, and the meeting begins now.
- 14:30Speaker 2: What will you do next week with it being the
- 14:32Speaker 2: Christmas home Oh.
- 14:33Speaker 4: And that's a very great thank you. We're going to
- 14:35Speaker 4: move our Thursday for our Christmas Day meeting to Tuesday,
- 14:40Speaker 4: and we're going to do the same thing in New
- 14:41Speaker 4: Year's week because we believe that group support when the
- 14:46Speaker 4: going gets tough. And you know, all the prehistoric animals
- 14:51Speaker 4: are on top of you because it's all the ants
- 14:55Speaker 4: and relatives to say, but I made that for you,
- 14:57Speaker 4: and you know you've got a taste just a love. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 4: So that's it's an important time to come and.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Just refocus pregaming too, you know, to getady you, get
- 15:07Speaker 2: your attitude, get your head right.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Get your your you hat all right.
- 15:11Speaker 2: On final text says thank you Millie Snyder for always
- 15:14Speaker 2: helping people live healthier lives. You are a treasure.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Thank you very much.
- 15:18Speaker 2: All Right, we'll take you well, we'll talk to you
- 15:19Speaker 2: next month, okay, yes, all right, and I wish you

- 18:46Speaker 8: out there and that's when the opioid epidemic kind of.
- 18:49Speaker 8: Took over so we moved to near closer to my
- 18:53Speaker 8: wife's Parents In, putnam county and it's a much better place.
- 18:57Speaker 8: To live and so we we we continued to, you
- 19:01Speaker 8: know build, our family and we started noticing, some things,
- 19:07Speaker 8: you know after, you know around twenty sixteen, or so
- 19:11Speaker 8: AND then, i decided, you know enough. IS enough i
- 19:13Speaker 8: want to.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Step in what were? Those things if youet on? My
- 19:15Speaker 2: mask what did you what do?
- 19:15Speaker 8: You know infrastructures crimely like my. Daughter is she just
- 19:19Speaker 8: started driving within the, last year and there are several
- 19:22Speaker 8: areas on the Roads In putnam county where the potholes
- 19:26Speaker 8: will swallow. Your cars she hits that and does almost
- 19:29Speaker 8: one thousand dollars worth of damage to. Her CAR so
- 19:31Speaker 8: i called the. Doh had they said they have no funding,
- 19:35Speaker 8: for it and SO basically i, told, THEM well i
- 19:38Speaker 8: WILL put i will plant flowers, in them give them
- 19:40Speaker 8: Their own, facebook page and get all kinds of attention,
- 19:43Speaker 8: to it and, next thing, you know within twelve hours
- 19:46Speaker 8: they were. Paved over that's a.
- 19:47Speaker 2: True story you actually, Did.
- 19:49Speaker 8: That, yes yes And the news actually did a piece
- 19:51Speaker 8: on it because they thought it was kind.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Of funny, All, right well you know you got. The
- 19:54Speaker 2: attention don't know that that's something everybody. Should do but.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It worked worked in, your, case right it worked in.
- 19:58Speaker 8: My, CASE yeah i. Couldn't help, but notice you know
- 20:01Speaker 8: You Had britta aguire on here not too. Long ago
- 20:04Speaker 8: she wanted to show you she's one hell Of an,
- 20:06Speaker 8: american patriot and that's kind of ONE thing i wanted to.
- 20:09Speaker 8: Talk about, You know patriotism it's displayed, through actions not worship.
- 20:13Speaker 8: Of symbols, you know it's a desire to make your.
- 20:17Speaker 8: Country better it's not loyalty to a politician or. A
- 20:22Speaker 8: person it's loyalty to. Our countrymen and so we owe
- 20:26Speaker 8: It To west virginians to fix our infrastructure that's. Been
- 20:30Speaker 8: crumbling we owe It To west virginians to undo the
- 20:38Speaker 8: Cuts to Medicare and medicaid that not only did they
- 20:41Speaker 8: do at the, national level but at the state legislature
- 20:43Speaker 8: they cut almost a billion DOLLARS from i believe It
- 20:46Speaker 8: was medicaid and. The economy have you gone out and
- 20:49Speaker 8: bought a bag of?
- 20:50Speaker 2: Chips, lately yeah. Six DOLLARS since i Just Had mellie
- 20:53Speaker 2: snyder on the show talking, About, NUTRITION no i did
- 20:55Speaker 2: not go out and buy a bag, of chip. THAT'S
- 20:57Speaker 2: right i want bought a bag of. Healthy SOMETHING gott
- 21:01Speaker 2: i get.
- 21:01Speaker 8: The, idea well LAST time i went out to buy
- 21:04Speaker 8: just one bag of, potato chips it was, six dollars
- 21:07Speaker 8: and that's that's. Just, unacceptable so, you, Know sixty i've
- 21:11Speaker 8: got some stats here and on. The economy, you know
- 21:16Speaker 8: monthly household inflation costs are through. The roof we have
- 21:20Speaker 8: the second lowest income per capita and the second lowest
- 21:25Speaker 8: workforce participation in. The nation THAT'S from wv policy. Dot
- 21:29Speaker 8: org we've got the fourth highest poverty rate in the
- 21:33Speaker 8: nation at. Seventeen percent That's From West virginia news one
- 21:38Speaker 8: of let's See The west virginians we're feeling, the pain
- 21:41Speaker 8: and we need to get federal funding for infrastructure projects
- 21:44Speaker 8: that will create jobs and then those would be good,
- 21:47Speaker 8: paying jobs so we could then be able to afford
- 21:49Speaker 8: that bag. Of chips, You know but that's that's just
- 21:53Speaker 8: one of, my issues, you know moving on. To healthcare
- 21:57Speaker 8: due to that, big bill we're gonna lose thirteen year.
- 22:03Speaker 8: Old hospitals one of Them, is backley A rh i
- 22:06Speaker 8: go there a lot with, my work and that is
- 22:09Speaker 8: A very all of these hospitals that are closing are
- 22:12Speaker 8: extremely important and if, they close we're talking hours long
- 22:18Speaker 8: waits in ers at. Other hospitals we're talking hours long drive.
- 22:23Speaker 8: TO hospitals i used to BE an emt and there's
- 22:26Speaker 8: a thing called the golden hour from the time that
- 22:29Speaker 8: an injury or, something happens you get them to the
- 22:31Speaker 8: hospital within. That hour that's not going to Happen In
- 22:34Speaker 8: west virginia anymore when those, hospitals close and that's gonna.
- 22:37Speaker 8: Be unfortunate.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Talking To michael, musteller again who is running for a
- 22:42Speaker 2: house a district, twenty one explain the DISTRICT to us.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Twenty one so it's it's a.
- 22:46Speaker 8: Bit weird it runs along the train tracks in, a
- 22:49Speaker 8: hurricane and so it's north of The or, i'm sorry
- 22:52Speaker 8: it's south of the. Train tracks it includes a lot
- 22:58Speaker 8: of the really good restaurants in. The valley it's so
- 23:03Speaker 8: it's just West Of, sleepy hollow includes the main Town.
- 23:08Speaker 8: Of hurricane We've Got whiskey taco. In there We've. Got,
- 23:12Speaker 8: barberino's yeah all the good all the.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Good.
- 23:14Speaker 8: Spots yeah and ONE thing i spoke on. Many times
- 23:17Speaker 8: we've Got The Meeks Mountain, trail system which is my
- 23:19Speaker 8: favorite place. To be it's actually the largest trail system
- 23:23Speaker 8: that's in the nation that's been totally volunteer and built.
- 23:26Speaker 8: By hand i'm a coach on the mountain bike team
- 23:29Speaker 8: there for, the kids AND so i just loved. That
- 23:32Speaker 8: place THAT'S where i held my campaign kickoff party. Last
- 23:35Speaker 8: time but there there's a lot of great things and
- 23:38Speaker 8: a lot of great people in.
- 23:39Speaker 2: My district i'm going to say the same thing to
- 23:43Speaker 2: YOU that i said yesterday to another gentleman who was
- 23:46Speaker 2: running For state senate As a democrat on the. Show
- 23:49Speaker 2: yesterday it can be an, uphill clive to say, the
- 23:53Speaker 2: least For a democrat to try to get Elected In
- 23:57Speaker 2: west virginia, right now particularly in the area that that that.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You serve what's your strategy for that direct?
- 24:04Speaker 8: Voter CONTACT because i spoke with somebody who had crunched
- 24:07Speaker 8: some numbers and just in, my district just counting the
- 24:11Speaker 8: votes that were cast in my district from my race
- 24:14Speaker 8: all the way up. TO president i won the most
- 24:18Speaker 8: votes out of all, of them AND so i didn't
- 24:21Speaker 8: do as much direct voter CONTACT as i would have.
- 24:25Speaker 8: LIKED to i, knocked on, you know maybe. Fifty doors.
- 24:28Speaker 8: THIS time i want to go through a knock and
- 24:30Speaker 8: talk to everyone because, you know we all have the.
- 24:34Speaker 8: Same fears we all want the. Same things we want
- 24:37Speaker 8: to be left alone by, our government but we also
- 24:40Speaker 8: don't want our government to fail us with the basic
- 24:44Speaker 8: services that it's supposed. To provide, you know we all
- 24:47Speaker 8: want to be able to raise. Our families we all
- 24:49Speaker 8: want to be able to. Afford groceries we all want
- 24:52Speaker 8: to be Able to i'll give you a. QUICK example
- 24:54Speaker 8: i had an injury where a rock kicked up from
- 24:56Speaker 8: a lawnmower hit me in the ear here and cut,
- 25:00Speaker 8: it open and the whole, Way there, I'm, thinking wow HOW?
- 25:05Speaker 8: Am i i've, got insurance, but man this is going to.
- 25:07Speaker 8: Bankrupt me and every one of us have. That fear
- 25:11Speaker 8: so we can actually we can do something, about healthcare
- 25:15Speaker 8: we can do something. About infrastructure and it's. Really simple
- 25:19Speaker 8: it's staring us right in. The face legalize cannabis for
- 25:25Speaker 8: recreational use and. Tax it we can bring in a
- 25:29Speaker 8: ton of money, that way and then we can help
- 25:32Speaker 8: with help Cover The West Virginia medicaid. MEDICARE costs i
- 25:38Speaker 8: would even like to see a single payer system Here In.
- 25:40Speaker 8: West virginia we could. Do it we could have the
- 25:42Speaker 8: money to.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Do that do, you, think though getting back to legalization, Of,
- 25:46Speaker 2: cannabis michael do you think that there is enough support
- 25:50Speaker 2: from other members of the legislature to get? That done,
- 25:52Speaker 2: because listen this is not Necessarily A republican, democrat THING
- 25:56Speaker 2: because i have talked To several republicans that are all
- 25:59Speaker 2: for it based on the economics of. It, alone yes but,
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know you got to have a huge. Buy in,
- 26:06Speaker 2: you know you can't just Have. The democrats you're going
- 26:07Speaker 2: to have to Have those republicans that would that would
- 26:09Speaker 2: agree to that as well if you even get. It
- 26:11Speaker 2: out and where do You Think west virginia is or
- 26:13Speaker 2: maybe your constituents are in the legalization. Of cannabis i'd say.
- 26:17Speaker 8: My constituents are all. For it you know a, lot
- 26:21Speaker 8: WELL when i was, growing up a lot of the
- 26:23Speaker 8: PEOPLE that i knew from that area were, you know the,
- 26:25Speaker 8: skateboarder stoners but they've all grown. Up NOW but i
- 26:30Speaker 8: would say that they're all, for it and as far
- 26:32Speaker 8: as the legislature after this, next ELECTION when i win
- 26:36Speaker 8: and hopefully a Few more, democrats Win, the republicans, you
- 26:39Speaker 8: know like, you said there's quite A few republicans that
- 26:42Speaker 8: are already on board.
- 26:43Speaker 2: With it, You're right you're right. About that it's twenty
- 26:45Speaker 2: six minutes away from Ten The Dave island show On
- 26:48Speaker 2: Five any lives brought to you Part By. Hustan's pizza

- 27:04Speaker 8: THE hurricane vfw last night to see if they would
- 27:08Speaker 8: host a meet the canaidate event and, they said as long,
- 27:11Speaker 8: as that, you know they have to have all.
- 27:13Speaker 1: The.
- 27:13Speaker 8: Candiders, Yeah So jared CANADONAN and i we talked back
- 27:17Speaker 8: and forth through, last election, very cordial. Very kind he's a.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Great guy he's a person that's in that. Seat, now
- 27:22Speaker 2: yes he's in the.
- 27:23Speaker 8: Seat now and we actually had to have a. Good
- 27:25Speaker 8: relationship he's a super nice GUY and i don't have
- 27:29Speaker 8: a bad thing to say about him other than He's.
- 27:30Speaker 2: A republican well, but well it's it's good that you
- 27:35Speaker 2: can have conversations with people that are that. Are, ADVERSARIES
- 27:38Speaker 2: here i will say this about to meet the. Candidate's
- 27:40Speaker 2: thing i'm sure they'll do it. This year, every year
- 27:42Speaker 2: sometime in, the Spring The Putnam County rotary club along
- 27:46Speaker 2: with in conjunction With The Putnam county Chamber, of commerce
- 27:49Speaker 2: they always have. An event usually it's a sleepy hollow,

- 27:54Speaker 2: year Get with ashley offered glance With the chamber and
- 27:57Speaker 2: the folks With The Putnam County rotary club because they.

- 28:01Speaker 8: WELL yeah i went to the, last ONE but i
- 28:03Speaker 8: wasn't able. To debate just what they said was you
- 28:05Speaker 8: had to have, a challenger and this was during, the
- 28:09Speaker 8: primaries AND then i guess a debate just didn't happen
- 28:12Speaker 8: for the for the.
- 28:13Speaker 2: General so anybody else running As a democrat or you
- 28:16Speaker 2: you it as far AS you, i mean, still early people's.
- 28:17Speaker 8: Still early but as FAR as, i know it's just
- 28:20Speaker 8: me and, you know we've we've got an effort to
- 28:23Speaker 8: to Put a democrat on, every Ballot no. Republican unopposed
- 28:28Speaker 8: and the thing that how's, that going it's actually going.
- 28:32Speaker 8: PRETTY well i mean we've we've just.
- 28:33Speaker 2: A statewide thing from The state Democratic.
- 28:35Speaker 8: Bo, well yeah it's it's one of. My projects i'm
- 28:38Speaker 8: working with. The leadership, but uh, you know we've picked
- 28:41Speaker 8: up a lot. Of candidates and one of the THINGS
- 28:44Speaker 8: that i keep telling people is nobody's going to come
- 28:46Speaker 8: in and run. For you, You know That's what. Republicans
- 28:49Speaker 8: did they brought they shipped in candidates from out of
- 28:52Speaker 8: state and. Ran THEM and i remember one, in, particularly
- 28:55Speaker 8: well one one of them sitting in the capital or
- 28:57Speaker 8: in the Sorry the governor's mansion, right now come down
- 29:01Speaker 8: Here From. New jersey but there was a man who
- 29:03Speaker 8: was in the, State Legislature. MICHAEL moffatt i remember when he.
- 29:07Speaker 8: WAS here i used to give him hell on social
- 29:10Speaker 8: media about being out. Of state and there was a
- 29:14Speaker 8: contentious election. Coming up it was looking like he was going,
- 29:16Speaker 8: to LOSE and, i said how much do you love?
- 29:19Speaker 8: This state, he, SAID oh i. LOVE it, i said
- 29:21Speaker 8: are you going to stay here if? You lose, he,
- 29:23Speaker 8: SAID oh i. ABSOLUTELY will, i said you know your
- 29:25Speaker 8: family Lives in texas, right Now so i'm going to
- 29:27Speaker 8: be willing to bet that you're going to be Living
- 29:29Speaker 8: in texas as soon as. You lose, sure enough, he
- 29:33Speaker 8: lost moved Straight. To texas, so unfortunately That's what. Repolkeins
- 29:37Speaker 8: did they bust them in and. Ran, them well this
- 29:40Speaker 8: is a true. Grassroots effort We're Running west virginia candidates

- 30:23Speaker 2: have michael and you've done it because you've run for

- 30:42Speaker 8: these people go into, the capital they make decisions and,
- 30:46Speaker 8: you wonder why would they? Do that and, you know
- 30:51Speaker 8: there have been so many pieces of legislation advanced that
- 30:57Speaker 8: help the billionaire class more than they help the, working
- 31:00Speaker 8: CLASS and i think. That's wrong and anytime that you
- 31:04Speaker 8: advocate for the, working people they scream socialism and they
- 31:08Speaker 8: don't even know what that. Word MEANS but i want
- 31:12Speaker 8: to make things easier for the. WORKING class i want
- 31:15Speaker 8: people to not have to, worry about, you know living paycheck.
- 31:19Speaker 8: TO paycheck i don't want people to have to be

- 47:55Speaker 2: an immigrant Reading the president's incredibly cruel comments in the

- 48:11Speaker 2: marches our country. Toward autocracy, last night this is. Mcfoley talking,

- 48:30Speaker 2: as this man remains. In, OFFICE additionally i will not

- 49:07Speaker 2: can't stand. No more. End, quote now a talent a
- 49:12Speaker 2: legends deal in the world of. Sports, ENTERTAINMENT remember i
- 49:16Speaker 2: don't call. It wrestling what they do now is. Sports
- 49:18Speaker 2: entertainment it's a. Legends, deal basically they sign, you, know
- 49:24Speaker 2: uh once, great wrestlers well not mc foley was not a,
- 49:29Speaker 2: great wrestler but But A, mick Foley A, rick flair,
- 49:32Speaker 2: you know somebody, like that to go and just basically
- 49:35Speaker 2: be as as. Company ambassadors, that's that's that's what that
- 49:38Speaker 2: that's what that whole. Thing means, and again if you,
- 49:42Speaker 2: go Back and i'm not turning trying to turn this
- 49:44Speaker 2: into a sports entertainment or, wrestling Story But donald trump
- 49:48Speaker 2: has been long associated with the ww long before he ever.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Became president he's IN The wwe Hall. Of, fame okay
- 49:55Speaker 2: he was at the first Couple, of WrestleMania's the big,
- 49:58Speaker 2: you know large pay per view events that they do.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Every spring so this isn't. Something new it is making,
- 50:07Speaker 2: headlines though Because It's, mick Foley And, mick foley for
- 50:11Speaker 2: those that, don't know was a guy who is considered
- 50:13Speaker 2: to be. A legend he was not. A wrestler he
- 50:15Speaker 2: was not a good wrestler by any stretch of. The
- 50:17Speaker 2: imagination he got by because he's a, glorified stuntman because
- 50:21Speaker 2: he would allow himself to be thrown off, you, know

- 50:37Speaker 2: used to be in front and he's got his tooth in.
- 50:39Speaker 2: His nose That's Who mick. Foley was outside, of, that
- 50:43Speaker 2: though he is considered to be a really. Nice. Guy
- 50:45Speaker 2: now my time in a, WRESTLING business i met a lot,
- 50:47Speaker 2: of PEOPLE and i traveled a lot with. These People
- 50:50Speaker 2: mick foley WAS one i never met BECAUSE when i
- 50:52Speaker 2: was doing the majority, of this he was big TIME and.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I WASN'T but i never. Met mcfoley he is genuinely
- 50:59Speaker 2: considered be a nice, guy THOUGH and i just thought
- 51:02Speaker 2: it was interesting That That, mick foley who always has
- 51:08Speaker 2: this reputation as a. Crazy guy that was this. Thing
- 51:11Speaker 2: again he would allow, himself to, you know practically be
- 51:14Speaker 2: shot out of a cannon if if the situation. Warranted
