- 0:11Hello. Hello, friends.
- 0:19Happy Friday. That was awesome.
- 0:22Yeah, we just discussed this and they had a plan and then I went
- 0:25back into my original. Whatever.
- 0:27Hello, friend. Good to have your company.
- 0:29It's Friday. It's the 28th of November, which
- 0:33Yvonne, it's your birthday. Happy birthday.
- 0:36My birthday. And where would you rather be
- 0:40than sitting in front of a microphone recording, right?
- 0:44It's true. It's a privilege to read God's
- 0:46word with you. So let's get stuck in.
- 0:48Enough about my birthday. Let's get into some proverbs.
- 0:52Happy birthday and yes, we are going to be finishing off the
- 0:5618th chapter of the book of Proverbs, which is pretty
- 0:59fantastic. So on your birthday, the gift
- 1:02that God gives you as well as all the others is extra wisdom
- 1:07in the form of these proverbs. And you can flex with your
- 1:10wisdom today and you can make everyone wonder, my goodness,
- 1:13this extra year of life, how to make you so smart.
- 1:15And you can say. Because of the proverbs.
- 1:20That was very well played. All right, let's read.
- 1:23No more shenanigans. Let us read together Proverbs
- 1:251819 to 24. An offended friend is harder to
- 1:41win back than a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like
- 1:46a gate locked with bars. Wise words satisfy like a good
- 1:52meal. The right words bring
- 1:54satisfaction. The tongue can bring death or
- 2:00life. Those who love to talk will reap
- 2:03the consequences. The man who finds a wife finds a
- 2:08treasure and he receives favour from the Lord.
- 2:13The poor plead for mercy. The rich answer with insults.
- 2:20There are friends who destroy each other, but a real friend
- 2:24sticks closer than a brother. And again.
- 2:31An offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city
- 2:37argument. Separate friends, like a gate
- 2:40locked with bars. Wise words satisfy like a good
- 2:46meal. The right words bring
- 2:48satisfaction. The tongue can bring death or
- 2:53life. Those who love to talk will reap
- 2:57the consequences. The man who finds a wife finds a
- 3:03treasure and he receives favour from the Lord.
- 3:07The poor plead for mercy. The rich answer with insults.
- 3:14There are friends who destroy each other, but a real friend
- 3:18sticks closer than a brother. Boy, there seems to be this kind
- 3:32of reoccurring theme through this cluster of proverbs about
- 3:37offending and hurting people with their words and how that's
- 3:39so hard to come back from. Yes, our, our words have so much
- 3:44impact. And I think it's just trying to
- 3:47say it's so important that we choose our words and that we use
- 3:51them for positive, that we just do something wise with those
- 3:55words we say. Or even use less words right and
- 3:58and listen rather than talk as much.
- 4:01Yeah, so. True, our Holy Spirit, may you
- 4:05be at the heart of everything that comes out of our mouth.
- 4:09May we not use words that offend, but may we use words
- 4:13that bring mercy, that bring life, that satisfy like a good
- 4:18meal, that our words can bring us together, sticking close to
- 4:24our friends and being there when they need us.
- 4:27And Lord, when our words are not required, give us your wisdom to
- 4:31be silent, to be still, and to listen.
- 4:37Our Holy Spirit, may we bring your Kingdom evermore, a reality
- 4:42in our world. We love you and we pray all of
- 4:45this in your precious name, Amen.
