- 0:28Hello and welcome to this episode of Spunky Spirit. I am psychic medium,
- 0:31carry mugs and this time this episode, we're going to talk about when your
- 0:37spouse or your significant other, or someone important to you in your life is
- 0:43not on the same spiritual frequency as you or And I'm not I'm not saying
- 0:48in this in it I'm better, You're a better person than them. It's
- 0:52just that spirituality is such a What I mean by not same frequency, it's
- 0:58because everybody's nobody's ever on the same frequency, and nobody's more superior than each
- 1:02other in anybody, and nobody's inferior than anybody. But we all are at
- 1:07different points of our spiritual journey and sometimes when we are with somebody or our
- 1:11significant other or are loved ones, don't when I say not same frequency,
- 1:18they don't have the same beliefs, or they're not going through the same spiritual
- 1:21awakening, or maybe they're in a religion that believes differently. And you're having
- 1:26all of these awakening experiences and you're having all these downloads and these aha moments,
- 1:30and such a big change is happening in your life and you believe,
- 1:34you believe in you start believing in things that you know mediumship and psychic and
- 1:41past lives and acasiak records, and the person you are with is not or
- 1:46does not believe in that stuff. And so how do you navigate that and
- 1:49how do you get through that? Because I've had lots of people that have,
- 1:53you know, messaged me and said, my spouse is not on board
- 1:57with this, or my spouse doesn't believe this, or how do you do
- 2:00that when the people you love are not or don't believe or not on the
- 2:06same page. And so this is really a really hard thing. This caused
- 2:08me. In fact, this probably will mostly be me sharing my own experiences
- 2:13with this, because this was such chaotic time for me when I was going
- 2:20through this, because I thought that I was so crazy and I was a
- 2:23certain religion when my gifts started to come out again. So they were there
- 2:29when I was little, but I kind of hit them and I thought they
- 2:31were evil, and I joined a religion to make them stop. And then
- 2:36I hit rock bottom and they came back tenfold, and then they just kept
- 2:43going and going. And so I'm going to kind of give you a little
- 2:46bit of my experience so you kind of know what to expect or how you
- 2:50can navigate your own right because I don't ever you know, I don't ever
- 2:53want to condone marriages, splitting or getting divorced over stuff like this, but
- 3:00I also don't want you to give up who you are. I want you
- 3:04to be authentically you and true to yourself. And sometimes you have to do
- 3:09that in a way that you have to be yourself without without carrying what your
- 3:15significant other things, or without letting that have a told on you. So
- 3:17hopefully, hopefully your significant other is still even though they don't believe what you
- 3:23believe, or they don't are not on board with the same thing you believe
- 3:27in, hopefully they're still very supportive. Luckily, mine was supportive, so
- 3:35mine is totally on board. Now my significant other, parts of my family
- 3:38are totally on board. But when I first started doing this, it wasn't
- 3:44like that when I first started becoming a medium, well, when I first
- 3:46started doing it as a profession, when I first started, which is crazy
- 3:51because when I met my husband now it was funny because he told me about
- 3:55a bigfoot that he had seen, and I was like, oh, my
- 4:00gosh, if you believe in Bigfoot. But at the time when we then
- 4:02this is gonna work. But at the time when we got married, I
- 4:04still was very much inside of a religion, of a church that I was
- 4:11very determined to stay in because I thought that that those were the answers.
- 4:15I thought that that was for me, that was what I wanted to be.
- 4:18But honestly, I think it just led me to a part where it
- 4:25led me to this. It led me to the friends that I needed to
- 4:27have, It led me to other things which led me to this. So
- 4:30even though it wasn't right for me, it was at that time. And
- 4:34so I want you to remember everybody has their own journey and even though what
- 4:40you believe in might not be right for them at this time, it will
- 4:45be eventually, or they might come around eventually. So don't ever give up.
- 4:49But if it's getting to the point where you cannot be who you truly
- 4:53want to be. If you've done everything you've can and you've done the counseling
- 4:57and you've done all the things, and you deal can't be authentic, then
- 5:00you might want to, but that's like last resort. You might want to
- 5:03look into what's best for you and your belief system, but that's like only
- 5:10if you've tried all the other things. Because I started feeling so guilty when
- 5:15I kind of started leaving or having disbeliefs in the church that we were going
- 5:20to, because when we got engaged and when we got married, we made
- 5:27this commitment to each other, and the church that we belonged to was heavily
- 5:31involved in that commitment. And so when I started to figure things out by
- 5:35myself, or figure things out that that weren't quite fitting with me or quite
- 5:42go and I started to tap into my abilities, and I started to tap
- 5:46into them stronger, and I knew my direction was different. It was a
- 5:51little struggle for a couple of years because I could feel him pulling away.
- 5:56I could feel him being stressed out about it because of his past experiences and
- 6:03this religion was very deeply embedded in his family, and so I kind of
- 6:10just had to let him do his own thing. I knew I was going
- 6:14to do my thing, and at first we even kind of hid what I
- 6:16did from his family and so because I didn't want any pressure on him or
- 6:24any stress. But it got to the point where they found out because it
- 6:28was just it was getting too big. And so he what changed him is
- 6:34he was very supportive to me, and he didn't really want me to quit
- 6:39my full time job to do mediumship readings, and I just finally was like,
- 6:44I have to. It's what I have to do. And I finally
- 6:46could prove to him that my mediumship readings were actually bringing in more money than
- 6:50my full time job. And then something happened my full time job, and
- 6:56I because you know how when spirit or God's says you were going to move,
- 7:00so I had to force it. So something happened with some coworkers,
- 7:04and I knew it was my time to leave, and so I went and
- 7:11I started crying, crying, and I said, I can't do this anymore.
- 7:15He says, it's okay if you leave, not that it. He
- 7:16was being bossy to me and telling me, but I wanted to. We
- 7:19were in a relationship, right, and I feel just feel like that leaving
- 7:24my job, which because we had seven kids at home, so leaving my
- 7:29job and going to work, going to do a different vogue of different job,
- 7:36was something I felt like we needed to talk to together. I wanted
- 7:40to be I wanted him to be on board because I because I respected his
- 7:45I respected him. It wasn't about him controlling me. If I just would
- 7:48have been like, you know what, I'm quitting and leaving, he would
- 7:50have been scared to death, but he would have honored me in that too.
- 7:54But we as a couple decided that that's what was going to happen.
- 7:59And so then he kind of saw that my business started getting bigger and bigger
- 8:05and bigger, and more people were tapping into my gift or loving my gift
- 8:09or coming for healing, and that's a whole different thing. But so then
- 8:16COVID happened, and because I could tell before that he was struggling. He
- 8:22was struggling because I had stopped going to our church and he would still go,
- 8:26and I know people would ask him all the time how I was,
- 8:30Carrie, and I would feel sorry for him, and all this stuff,
- 8:33and I felt bad, and I did at times wonder if we were going
- 8:35to make it through it, not because we didn't didn't love each other,
- 8:39but because I knew it was important to him. I knew that this was
- 8:45kind of a thing that was important to the relationship, and it was his
- 8:48life. It was something he was born and bred throughout his whole life.
- 8:52And so COVID happened, and we stayed home and he didn't have to go
- 8:58to church and more, and then he started looking into what fit for him
- 9:05and what was and he realized that half of his most of all of his
- 9:07anxiety was gone, and he started to think, well, God shouldn't give
- 9:13us anxiety, like any spiritualists shouldn't give you anxiety. And so he kind
- 9:20of started looking into it on his own, and he which has to happen.
- 9:24You, guys, you can't push your loved one into a belief system.
- 9:28You have to let them do it on their own. You have to
- 9:31let them do this journey on their own. You can't force them. You
- 9:35can't tell them. You can't you can't. I mean you can say,
- 9:39I mean, you can give him an ultimatum, But at the same time,
- 9:43they're just going to end up resenting you. You have to be able
- 9:48to let him has his faith journey or your spouse have their faith journey and
- 9:52you have your faith journey, and hopefully you are helpful to each other.
- 10:00Are and not vindictive. Not because spiritual spirituality is hard because it's such a
- 10:05huge thing in people's lives, that it plays such an important part in some
- 10:09religion's lives and in some spirituality lives. And if you go to you know,
- 10:15a very very religious person and say I believe in past lives, I
- 10:18believe in star seeds, I believe in they're going to think you're crazy and
- 10:22so, but you're not crazy because this is your belief right if you if
- 10:26you can believe in those things, but they can believe in, you know,
- 10:33things that it's kind of hard because I don't want to put down an
- 10:37your religion, right, but but I if they believe in a spirit that
- 10:41come that they trust in, it's just hard because I believe in Jesus.
- 10:48I didn't make I didn't want this to become a religious thing. I do
- 10:50believe in God in Jesus, but I believe them in a different capacity than
- 10:54what normal religious capacities believe them in I believe Jesus was here to teach us
- 11:00what we are capable of doing, and very much loves us. But I
- 11:03don't feel like he was here to be worshiped, And I feel like he
- 11:07was here to help and love and it is all unconditional and he does love,
- 11:11but I just also don't believe that he is. It has to be
- 11:18obedient, it has to be his way, it has to be you do
- 11:20do. It's a hard thing, but if your significant other just does believe
- 11:26that, then it can clash, right, and your relationship can clash.
- 11:30And so spirituality might be something that you don't talk about for a while.
- 11:33You don't talk about it even though it's super important your relationship is between you
- 11:39two, and it's not something that's based on If it was started based on
- 11:45a spiritual foundation, then that's going to be tough. But if it wasn't
- 11:48based started based on a spiritual foundation, and it was based on your love
- 11:52for each other, then that's going to be a whole other ballgame. So
- 11:56it just depends on how you know, how your really relationship started. Now
- 12:03with me, he did slowly start to believe he's still started. I mean
- 12:09he's still there's some things. We'll watch movies sometimes or we'll watch documentaries and
- 12:16they'll talk about different different aspects of spirituality and I'll be like, oh yeah,
- 12:20I know that, and oh yeah that's true, and he'll be like,
- 12:22what you knew? That hacked to tell me? And I'm like,
- 12:24because I didn't want to. I want you to be on your own spiritual
- 12:28journey. I want you to find it. I don't want to just take
- 12:31my beliefs and throw them on you and make you keep them. So I'm
- 12:35not gonna lie. This is a really tough situation. If you are in
- 12:39it, and you are in it right now, all I can tell you
- 12:43is just have patience and trust. Trust that this is your journey. Trust
- 12:48is that this is their journey. Trust that it's going to work out.
- 12:52And if it does get to the point, you know, where you've tried
- 12:58everything and you've gone to counseling and you've tried to talk about it, and
- 13:01it becomes almost a controlling thing, then I would maybe suggest looking into where
- 13:07you're truly happy, because you are here to find joy and even though your
- 13:11joy is not dependent on other people, your spouse and your significant other,
- 13:16has a whole big part of that. And if they can't if there,
- 13:22if they can't at least accept that you're on this journey and that you that
- 13:28your spiritual growth is different, then that might be an issue because spiritual growth
- 13:33is so important to your growth, and if that you've got someone that's holding
- 13:39you back or someone that's stopping you, you can only be patient for so
- 13:43long, right, So I just feel bad because I just remember the torment
- 13:48and the chaos that would be inside me when I first started coming out,
- 13:52not only from my you know, not only because I was so scared of
- 13:56what other people would think of me, but because I I I promised,
- 14:01I had promised my husband that I was going to be in this religion forever
- 14:03and that I was going to do you know, it was based on that
- 14:07religion, and so I didn't blame him if he didn't want to like stay
- 14:13in it, if it wasn't going to be what he thought. And so
- 14:16there was lots of conversations and lots of loving and understanding. And I know
- 14:22there are people in our lives that think that I forced this on him or
- 14:26I subjected him to this, but he did this all on his own I
- 14:31let him have his own journey, and you know what, I was very
- 14:35very blessed and very very very very blessed that he came around or he came
- 14:41into his own spiritual journey. And we're still not on the same page.
- 14:46We kind of ore on the same page, but there's still things he's learning
- 14:48that he's like, oh my gosh, that's still crazy. And there's still
- 14:52things that I see from spirit or during readings that or that I learned,
- 14:54and I'm like, ooh, I'm not going to tell him that because he's
- 14:56going to think that's crazy. And then like three or four weeks later,
- 15:01he's telling me about this podcast he listened to you and this is what he
- 15:03found. I'm like, yes, so sometimes it works out, I mean
- 15:09a lot. Most of the time it's going to work out. Most of
- 15:11the time it works out, I promise you, no matter how it ends,
- 15:15it's going to work out. But working out. If you would have
- 15:20told me in the beginning that this was how it's going to work out for
- 15:22me, back then, I would have thought that's scary or that's not you
- 15:26know, that's super scary. But now it's like the best thing ever.
- 15:31So have lots of patience with those people that are around you that do not
- 15:35don't ever let them demean you or belittle you because of your beliefs or tease
- 15:41you. Don't give them that control, and create boundaries there. Create boundaries
- 15:46that protect you so you don't feel like you're inferior or you feel like you're
- 15:50crazy, because if they make you feel like that, that's not okay.
- 15:54But what you need to do is just maybe have lots and lots of talks
- 15:58about where you're at and where you see this going, and if your spiritual
- 16:04significance or your spiritual beliefs have an effect on the bottom line of your relationship,
- 16:11and or if it's something that you can deal with, if it's something
- 16:14and you know, and if your significant other says, well, I just
- 16:17don't want you to talk about it around me, then that's okay. Don't
- 16:19talk about it. Don't talk about it around them, and if it has
- 16:23to do. The way it gets kind of complicated is when it's your kids
- 16:27and you're kind of trying to teach the kids one thing and teach the kids
- 16:32the other thing. And that's when that's why blended marriages and religions are really
- 16:37hard and I feel bad because there is no one fits all kind of thing.
- 16:42But at the end of the day, the one thing that does matter
- 16:47is that you matter. And it's not selfish. It's that you need to
- 16:52be true to who you are. And if that is sticking to your beliefs
- 16:56at whatever cost, that means sticking to your beliefs whatever cost. And if
- 17:00your significant other doesn't allow that, then I would look into But you got
- 17:06to make sure too, because you've got to make sure that you are being
- 17:12supportive of his beliefs and supportive of So when my husband would still go to
- 17:18church, or my husband still wanted to do certain things that that religion required,
- 17:22I let him. I let him do it because even though I didn't
- 17:26want to, I let him him do his thing because I had to honor
- 17:30his spiritual beliefs. So if you can get in a place where you can
- 17:33honor each other's spiritual beliefs but not make fun of them and not make somebody
- 17:40feel inferior because of them, you're going on the right track. If that
- 17:44does involve that you feel inferior or superior, then that's when you've got to
- 17:49probably go to counseling or seek out some sort of middle ground, and that's
- 17:55what's that's what's going to be the hardest. But I promise you, if
- 18:00you have patience, it will most a lot of times it will work out
- 18:06a lot of times that you're the you'll start to be on the same page,
- 18:10or you'll just understand each other's You'll understand it with each other. You'll
- 18:14understand where they're coming from, and they'll understand where you're coming from. If
- 18:18you have enough love for somebody that you can let them believe how they want
- 18:23and do what they want in far as far as the spiritual realm, then
- 18:30then then it should be okay. I know every situation is different and every
- 18:34and I was one of the lucky ones where I was supported even though the
- 18:38beliefs were different. I was supported, I was loved. I do know
- 18:42that he kind of felt like maybe it was his fault. He did kind
- 18:45of take on some of the blame of me not wanting to be part of
- 18:49it anymore, part of this church or religion, and he felt felt like
- 18:53it was his, but that was because of past things that had happened in
- 18:59other relationships with him. It wasn't about me. And so you really have
- 19:03to work on it. Like, That's why I think that counseling would be
- 19:06a really good idea. Someone that you can talk to about your beliefs and
- 19:10know that you're not crazy and understand you and be able to go home and
- 19:15still be felt loved and listened to and heard, and just know that sometimes
- 19:19you're not going to be able to share your experiences. You're not going to
- 19:22be able to share. You're not gonna be able to share your experiences with
- 19:29your loved one because they're not going to understand. So if you go to
- 19:32a past life reading and they give you this awesome reading, sorry someone,
- 19:36and you can't go home and share it with your with your significant other,
- 19:38right because you know that they won't believe. They'll think it's kind of stupid,
- 19:42and but that's okay because eventually they will. So I was kind of
- 19:45in the same boat with mine. But then one day for his birthday,
- 19:48I got him a palm reading. He was very receptive, he loved it,
- 19:52loved it, and that helped him go forward right because he was open
- 19:56minded and it was an awesome experience. So be kind to yourself, give
- 20:02yourself grace. Know that there are so many people out there that are going
- 20:06through the same thing. But be honor their journey. Don't try and push
- 20:11them into anything that they're not ready for, but make sure that they honor
- 20:15yours at the same time, and you feel honored. So you might have
- 20:19to have those hard conversations, and even though you might not be able to
- 20:22share all your experiences spiritually with them yet, then just know that you find
- 20:27somebody that you can find some like minded people that you can be around that
- 20:32you can share your experiences and have the same kind of effect, because that
- 20:38will help a lot, and then you won't feel like you're so crazy.
- 20:41So I love you guys so much, and I hope that this helps,
- 20:45because there's nothing harder, I think than being with somebody or in a relationship
- 20:51that this is where you don't see eye to eye. And I promise you
- 20:52there are so many there are so many, so many relationships out there that
- 20:59go through this, that go through this, because whether you are in a
- 21:03certain religion and have a faith crisis and one of you leaves and one of
- 21:06them you wants to stay, or if one of you has an awakening and
- 21:11the other one's not like on board with that, or these new beliefs come
- 21:15in. It's hard because awakening has change people. Faith crisis has changed people.
- 21:18And so it's hard on the one that isn't changing because and it's hard
- 21:23on the one that is changing because there's a significant difference. But I promise
- 21:27you, if you work together and you have somebody who's very supportive and you're
- 21:32supportive of them, you can work through this. If there's somebody that is
- 21:36not supportive and will not see it, then that's going to be a whole
- 21:40different story. And that's going to be hard to be your authentic self and
- 21:44be who you truly are. So you're going to have to dig deep and
- 21:47see how you're going to navigate that, because nothing's worse than going through life
- 21:52not being who you are authentically. And so I'm just saying, if there's
- 21:59somebody in your life that's like controlling enough that they choose that for you,
- 22:03then you need to maybe look at how that's going to affect you. Okay.
- 22:08I love you guys so much, and I'm trying to think. I
- 22:11do have a class this week called Step It Up. It's on Thursday night.
- 22:14It's in Idaho Falls, it is local. I think I do have
- 22:18a few spots left, so Thursday night from six to nine. It's teaching
- 22:22you how to step into your power, use your gifts, to define your
- 22:26gifts and not be scared of your gifts, and to be who you are,
- 22:30be who you are and be able to connect to yourself and to do
- 22:34spirit. So and then the week after that, I do have an online
- 22:37class learning about your guides and if you took my online, if you took
- 22:42my Guides class in locally, then it's the same class. You don't need
- 22:47to take it, but if you couldn't take it and you want to take
- 22:48it from online, if you're not local, then that would be great.
- 22:52So I love you guys so much and I will talk to you next week
