- 0:26Speaker 1: It is time to leave your warriors outside and laugh
- 0:31Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:35Speaker 1: Jerry Caldwell and today very special guest inside the Treehouse,
- 0:41Speaker 1: the one and only Steve Nobello from Foxford DFW. Yay,
- 0:48Speaker 1: you are so good at this, obviously because you do
- 0:50Speaker 1: TV stuff all the time. So but you are just
- 0:52Speaker 1: aimlessly spinning in your anchor chair and then all of
- 0:55Speaker 1: a sudden you heard the click of a microphone switch
- 1:00Speaker 1: or a TV switch, and then boom you shot in
- 1:01Speaker 1: a position ready to roll, but still looking cool and casual.
- 1:05Speaker 2: It's like a Pavlov's dog situation, right, that little red
- 1:07Speaker 2: light comes on and you know it's go time. I'd
- 1:10Speaker 2: like to know how you. I do enjoy that you
- 1:12Speaker 2: retained that music at the beginning of your of your show.
- 1:16Speaker 2: That always lets me know that you're on.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, by retaining it, I appreciate you saying it because
- 1:22Speaker 1: you'll ripping it off. Yeah, it's called piracy, Steve. It's
- 1:27Speaker 1: not just for the Somalis anymore.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Well, you know, I mean you live outside of the
- 1:31Speaker 2: jurisdiction of the United States, don't you actually know?
- 1:34Speaker 1: I don't. It's a misconception. Do I live in the Caribbean. Yes,
- 1:39Speaker 1: it's technically the United States Urgent Islands. It's a territory.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I couldn't vote in the presidential election, but I'm still
- 1:47Speaker 1: a citizen, Okay. That's That's kind of how that works.
- 1:53Speaker 1: And we celebrate Christmas here and everything. And one of
- 1:56Speaker 1: the main reasons why I love having you on this
- 1:58Speaker 1: time of year, Steve, is because every single year now
- 2:01Speaker 1: and I believe this is the fifteenth year now that
- 2:05Speaker 1: you've put together the Steve Noviello Holiday Guide. It is
- 2:10Speaker 1: a massive holiday guide for people when it comes to
- 2:14Speaker 1: gift giving. And it's not just like an old Seers
- 2:17Speaker 1: catalog that you got to rip through all the pages for,
- 2:19Speaker 1: but you actually break it out into different categories and things.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And so I'm glad you're joining us. We can talk
- 2:26Speaker 1: about it because you have unleashed it again this year.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's available on your website. I'm sure it's available on
- 2:33Speaker 1: the Fox four website. Which one would you prefer to give?
- 2:36Speaker 2: So, yeah, No, it's Avail's streaming worldwide on Fox Local.
- 2:40Speaker 2: We have I think thirty eight runs and eighteen markets
- 2:42Speaker 2: across the country this year. You could hop onto my
- 2:45Speaker 2: Facebook to get a link. You can hop onto the
- 2:47Speaker 2: Fox for News website to get a link to the
- 2:49Speaker 2: complete guide. It's actually our sixteenth Pierre. So I'm not
- 2:51Speaker 2: sure which of the years you missed, but it was
- 2:54Speaker 2: a good one. I guarantee you that.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Well, it's okay because I have a brain disorder. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: have two brain disorders now, so I meant to say sixteen,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but fifteen is what popped up. But I want you
- 3:03Speaker 1: to know that I did. I did some research, and
- 3:06Speaker 1: I pulled a few of the gifts out of your
- 3:09Speaker 1: guide this year that I thought were really really interesting.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Okay, what do you got?
- 3:16Speaker 1: I realized, by the way, so this is your guide.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I didn't put it together, but I pulled a few
- 3:21Speaker 1: out that I thought were really innes I.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Did the research. You you looked at a list and
- 3:26Speaker 2: said that one. It's really the point of the guide,
- 3:29Speaker 2: so that it appropriately Yeah, it's not it's not stealing,
- 3:33Speaker 2: h Steve. I've curated this list like going to a
- 3:37Speaker 2: restaurant of me, Like, well, I came up with all
- 3:38Speaker 2: of these options. You read the menu and picked one.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Actually, that's what you did. It's almost like you and
- 3:46Speaker 1: I have been on a dinner date before. Uh, Okay,
- 3:48Speaker 1: so a couple of things that I found from your
- 3:50Speaker 1: guide that I thought were outstanding for various reasons. Okay,
- 3:55Speaker 1: let me share this with you. Make sure that you'll
- 3:56Speaker 1: be able to see this. The first one that stood
- 3:59Speaker 1: out to me was, I believe this was in your
- 4:02Speaker 1: category of gifts for people who have everything, and you
- 4:06Speaker 1: guaranteed you guaranteed that some of these items people would
- 4:10Speaker 1: not have. And the first one that jumped out of
- 4:12Speaker 1: me is something called the moon Walker.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I just had these on not an hour ago. In fact,
- 4:18Speaker 2: they're like within one hundred feet of me. I can
- 4:20Speaker 2: actually show them to you if you want. Yeah, so
- 4:23Speaker 2: these we first saw these at the Consumer Electronic Show
- 4:25Speaker 2: back in January. So think of this as you know
- 4:29Speaker 2: the moving sidewalk at the airport. Think of this as
- 4:31Speaker 2: your own personal moving sidewalk at all times. So they
- 4:34Speaker 2: use AI adapter technology to feed energy to your feet, right,
- 4:39Speaker 2: So the faster you walk, the more energy they provide.
- 4:42Speaker 2: The slower you walk, they'll slow down for you. So
- 4:44Speaker 2: it allows you to walk at the pace of a run.
- 4:48Speaker 2: They do stop, You can climb stairs. There's a little
- 4:51Speaker 2: bit of a learning curve. I had them on actually
- 4:53Speaker 2: on the air this morning, kind of demonstrating them, so
- 4:57Speaker 2: they take a moment to kind of get used to.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yeah, the way they describe, like you mentioned the first
- 5:03Speaker 1: mobility device allowing you to walk at the speed of
- 5:05Speaker 1: a run, and you mentioned adaptive AI drive train, which
- 5:09Speaker 1: sounds fun for your feet, just makes me think that
- 5:11Speaker 1: at some point the robot's going to take over and
- 5:13Speaker 1: just send you someplace you never planned on.
- 5:17Speaker 2: The again, a little bit of a learning curve. Raoul
- 5:21Speaker 2: who I know, you know, He's like, what are those
- 5:24Speaker 2: a couple hundred bucks? And I was like a little
- 5:26Speaker 2: more than that, So they're a little on the pricey side.
- 5:29Speaker 2: But again, so these items that are like you know
- 5:32Speaker 2: that you've never heard of are meant to do one
- 5:33Speaker 2: or two things. Either inspire you to think of something
- 5:36Speaker 2: to be like, oh you know what, maybe not this,
- 5:37Speaker 2: but that reminds me you know such and such on
- 5:40Speaker 2: my list loves whatever, or maybe you just clicked the.
- 5:42Speaker 1: My button and go from there, have have you? Or
- 5:45Speaker 1: Hannah Baitah warned these moonwalkers during the ten on Fox four.
- 5:49Speaker 2: This literally within the last hour I had them on
- 5:53Speaker 2: my feet on television walking around.
- 5:55Speaker 1: That is awesome. I love that I'll be sure to
- 5:57Speaker 1: watch that replay of that on the four news dot
- 6:01Speaker 1: com website later on today. Another item that I thought
- 6:04Speaker 1: was cool in your selection that I then picked through
- 6:08Speaker 1: the ugly sweater caps, which I think is great because
- 6:10Speaker 1: if you want to do the ugly sweater party, but
- 6:12Speaker 1: you don't want to commit to sweating, because in Texas
- 6:14Speaker 1: it's hot, so you might be doing an ugly sweater party,
- 6:17Speaker 1: but it's still it's still seventy degrees. So the hat,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I think it's an awesome option.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Maybe you just do the hat instead of the instead
- 6:23Speaker 2: of the whole thing. So yeah, ugly sweater caps. They're
- 6:27Speaker 2: also golf themed, so people, if you're into, like, you know, golf,
- 6:31Speaker 2: kind of a kind of a nice again unique idea
- 6:33Speaker 2: that you probably haven't heard of yet.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's it's exactly like, if you're not watching
- 6:37Speaker 1: this right now, you're just listening to it in the
- 6:39Speaker 1: old fashioned way, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's
- 6:42Speaker 1: a baseball style hat and then the front artwork just
- 6:45Speaker 1: looks like a Christmas sweater with a different colors. It's
- 6:47Speaker 1: pretty cool.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, So I feel like this is like a good
- 6:48Speaker 2: white elephant gift as well for people.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that would actually be fairly popular at
- 6:53Speaker 1: a white elephant thing, like all the booze would still
- 6:55Speaker 1: go first, but this will probably come second. And then
- 6:58Speaker 1: also this other one would I thought was pretty awesome,
- 7:01Speaker 1: partly because I just like saying it. Pizza scissors, you know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: it's interesting.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I saw this. And by the way, so these are
- 7:08Speaker 2: from WILLIAMS Sonoma. They are pizza scissors. My aunt Mary,
- 7:14Speaker 2: she was actually my dad's aunt. So this woman is
- 7:16Speaker 2: you know far, she's she's no longer with us. She
- 7:20Speaker 2: used to make what we call pizza. It was really
- 7:23Speaker 2: more like a ficaccio when I was a kid, and
- 7:25Speaker 2: she had a pair of those like old school like
- 7:27Speaker 2: black handle like teacher scissors. That that's how she used
- 7:30Speaker 2: to cut the ficacia to serve it. And I saw
- 7:33Speaker 2: these and I was like, son of them, Like poor
- 7:37Speaker 2: aunt Mary. I mean, fifty years ago she was doing
- 7:40Speaker 2: this and now william Sonoma is selling these things for
- 7:42Speaker 2: I forget how much she could have She could have
- 7:45Speaker 2: been a millionaire.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Well those those are three of my standouts from your
- 7:49Speaker 1: holiday guide this year. What is uh? What is your favorite?
- 7:52Speaker 1: What is the one thing that of the entire catalog
- 7:56Speaker 1: that you have said I want that, or you've already
- 7:59Speaker 1: got it.
- 8:00Speaker 2: You know, it's kind of hard to pick just one.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I think that like okay, so like in the technology
- 8:08Speaker 2: section from a company called sky Worth, and I'm gonna
- 8:12Speaker 2: get the name wrong, and they actually I got I
- 8:14Speaker 2: got a not so happy email from them about getting
- 8:16Speaker 2: the name wrong. But they have something called the Lifestyle
- 8:19Speaker 2: Portable Display with Google TV built in. Essentially, it's a television,
- 8:24Speaker 2: right and you take it anywhere. It's maybe thirty or
- 8:29Speaker 2: so inches and it's great. It's got the whole you know,
- 8:32Speaker 2: streaming interface on it, just you know, Netflix and everything
- 8:35Speaker 2: else on it. And I think it's got so many
- 8:37Speaker 2: cool uses, tailgating being in the yacht, so it's you
- 8:40Speaker 2: can do it. You can plug it in or you
- 8:42Speaker 2: can charge at the batteries, you know, Like I'm thinking
- 8:44Speaker 2: like hanging out in the yard with the kids, maybe
- 8:46Speaker 2: watching a movie outside, like sitting like the hot tub,
- 8:50Speaker 2: you know, and you know, in a kind of a
- 8:52Speaker 2: temperate night, you know, with it on and having them
- 8:54Speaker 2: watch cartoons or whatever else. I think it'd be cool
- 8:56Speaker 2: that I thought was done really well. It's also got
- 8:58Speaker 2: a nice Matt finish on display, so there's no reflectivity.
- 9:02Speaker 2: So I would say that that's probably one of my
- 9:04Speaker 2: favorite things on it for sure.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Very cool. So also I always tell you this because
- 9:09Speaker 1: you TV people, and I mean that a nice way.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I when I say UTV people, when you guys get
- 9:14Speaker 1: like hate mail, or you get you know, pissy messages
- 9:17Speaker 1: from people or in this case, you know clients or
- 9:21Speaker 1: whatever it is people that you know gave you stuff
- 9:23Speaker 1: for the guide. You're all very kind in your responses.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Those of us on the radio side don't put up
- 9:30Speaker 1: with that crap. So if you want someone that is
- 9:33Speaker 1: used to getting pissy emails from people and someone and
- 9:36Speaker 1: someone to pilford through those for you, just forward them
- 9:39Speaker 1: to us. We'll take care of it for You'll be
- 9:40Speaker 1: happy to well.
- 9:41Speaker 2: And again I will share with you, because this is
- 9:45Speaker 2: recorded outside of the jurisdiction of the United States government,
- 9:48Speaker 2: kind of what that experience looked like, you know. So
- 9:51Speaker 2: here's the thing that I don't tell PR people about
- 9:53Speaker 2: Gift Guide. So listen, I get it like it's a
- 9:55Speaker 2: big lift to send us stuff and we get probably
- 9:59Speaker 2: five times as much stuff as we actually put on TV. Right,
- 10:03Speaker 2: there's just we just one hundreds and hundreds of other things.
- 10:05Speaker 2: If I'm requesting something, it's because I know I've got
- 10:07Speaker 2: a spot for it. But people blindly send us stuff,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and sometimes that stuff is like those moon shoes or
- 10:14Speaker 2: like twelve hundred bucks. You know, they're like, here you go,
- 10:17Speaker 2: and what I don't tell them because I never know
- 10:19Speaker 2: how many cities were going to get picked up by.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I don't make any guarantees of coverage or anything like that.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So like that television person, for example, it was the
- 10:27Speaker 2: it was the client's first time trying their hand at television, right.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I really liked it. I knew it was going to
- 10:32Speaker 2: be in the guide. I put it in. It's on
- 10:34Speaker 2: the online version, it's in the television version. It'll be
- 10:38Speaker 2: in a breakout segment as well. And I send right
- 10:42Speaker 2: before the day before Thanksgiving. I send a note, which
- 10:44Speaker 2: is also a big pain in the neck because you've
- 10:46Speaker 2: got to now curate this list of one hundred people
- 10:48Speaker 2: to send emails to. I say, hey, thank you so
- 10:50Speaker 2: much for being part of the guide. You know, I
- 10:52Speaker 2: appreciate you. Here's the you know, better news we've been
- 10:57Speaker 2: picked up by you know, you know, thirty eight runs
- 10:59Speaker 2: and teen markets from New York to California blah bla
- 11:02Speaker 2: blah blah. So all these pr people who think like,
- 11:05Speaker 2: you know, like, hey, you're like, oh yeah, I got
- 11:07Speaker 2: my client on TV in Dallas, like and then the
- 11:09Speaker 2: day before things saving they find out actually, you're going
- 11:11Speaker 2: to be on all over the country, you know, multiple times,
- 11:14Speaker 2: Like it's a nice feather in their cap.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Right.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So when this person contacted me and was not pleased
- 11:20Speaker 2: that I had written freestyle instead of lifestyle, I was like, well, hey,
- 11:24Speaker 2: I hope the coast to coast coverage was helpful for
- 11:28Speaker 2: your client. And then she like doubled down on like, well,
- 11:35Speaker 2: here's what the warning. I was like, okay, you know what, Okay,
- 11:38Speaker 2: I get it, Like, you know, are people are funny
- 11:41Speaker 2: that way, right, Like at the end of the day
- 11:43Speaker 2: we showed the product, I said, I loved it. There's
- 11:45Speaker 2: a shopping link that actually allows people to buy it.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Like does the average consumer really care that I misspoke
- 11:51Speaker 2: on the second or third word of the twelve word name.
- 11:56Speaker 2: They do not, right, they really don't. But I get
- 11:58Speaker 2: it as a you know, your client probably putting pressure
- 12:00Speaker 2: on you to be like, oh that's not precisely you know,
- 12:03Speaker 2: like I'm sure that that name was workshopped in. However,
- 12:07Speaker 2: things are done, and you know there's will be a
- 12:09Speaker 2: battle of what we're gonna call this and that.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Well, that's also the reality of life that they need
- 12:13Speaker 1: to keep in mind. You can, you know, pour over
- 12:16Speaker 1: the minutia on things like that till you're blue in
- 12:18Speaker 1: the face. But some people are still gonna call it,
- 12:20Speaker 1: you know, moonshoes versus moonwalkers or whatever else, lifestyle versus freestyle.
- 12:25Speaker 1: That's why I say, just forward me that I'll send
- 12:27Speaker 1: back the response to whom it may concerns. Steve Noviello says,
- 12:32Speaker 1: you sign Steve Noviello's email checker. Wow.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Is that in real time or is that some sort
- 12:38Speaker 2: of AI that blocks that hour?
- 12:39Speaker 4: Oh?
- 12:40Speaker 1: That's all me baby, Wow. But don't go anywhere real quick.
- 12:45Speaker 1: When we come back inside the tree House, I'm going
- 12:47Speaker 1: to give you my Treehouse Christmas catalog that you need
- 12:51Speaker 1: to buy stuff on. Okay, I mean, let's get Daniel
- 12:58Speaker 1: Cook from cook DFW Restoration into the Treehouse eight three

- 13:11Speaker 1: of the business also means, you know, you're doing remodeling
- 13:14Speaker 1: work underneath the roof inside the home as well. And
- 13:19Speaker 1: you were telling me just recently that you, Daniel and
- 13:23Speaker 1: Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration, offer lifetime warranties on all
- 13:27Speaker 1: your work.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 6: Dan, That's something that we talked about for a while now,
- 13:31Speaker 6: and we decided to go ahead and just pull the
- 13:33Speaker 6: trigger on it. We've had excellent reviews, we've had excellent referrals.
- 13:37Speaker 6: People really love our work when they give us a chance,
- 13:40Speaker 6: and we just want to put our money where our
- 13:42Speaker 6: mouth is. And you know that's the best way I
- 13:45Speaker 6: can always say that is just back it up.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Back it up.
- 13:48Speaker 6: When I was growing up and I told somebody who's
- 13:50Speaker 6: gonna kick their ass, you got to back it up. Well,
- 13:53Speaker 6: now that I'm a grown man and we're doing professional
- 13:55Speaker 6: services on people's homes and I tell them that they're
- 13:57Speaker 6: never going to have a better experience, I'm backing it up.
- 14:00Speaker 6: We're gonna take care of your home because we want

- 14:12Speaker 1: You can experience it for yourself and you can put
- 14:14Speaker 1: your money where Daniel's mouth is and he'll honor it.
- 14:18Speaker 1: As you just heard, even if he dies, he's still
- 14:21Speaker 1: going to honor this stuff. I mean, that's that's that's
- 14:24Speaker 1: some serious integrity and quality craftsmanship to have the confidence
- 14:28Speaker 1: to be like, yeah, this is how we do things.
- 14:29Speaker 1: So you give the man a call for that free
- 14:31Speaker 1: roof inspection eight three three Cook DFW the website cookdfw

- 14:54Speaker 1: Back inside the Treehouse now, Daniel Mallley, Jerry Caldwell along
- 14:58Speaker 1: with Foxford down his very own Steve Noviello, Who's sixteenth
- 15:02Speaker 1: not fifteenth. Sixteenth Holiday Guide is available now and Steve,
- 15:09Speaker 1: you just went through, uh you know some of the
- 15:11Speaker 1: items in there that your favorite, A couple of mine
- 15:14Speaker 1: that were my favorite. And I want you to know
- 15:17Speaker 1: Steve that every time you're on the show, it's not
- 15:21Speaker 1: just all fun and giggles. Okay, well it is all
- 15:24Speaker 1: it is all about fun and giggles, but it's not
- 15:26Speaker 1: just about giving each other a hard time, because I
- 15:28Speaker 1: want you to know that you have inspired me this Christmas,
- 15:32Speaker 1: because looking through your holiday gift guide inspired me to
- 15:37Speaker 1: come up with our very own Treehouse Christmas Catalog.
- 15:42Speaker 7: Why do you say, oh no, I just you know,
- 15:44Speaker 7: I mean, because he knows us.
- 15:48Speaker 1: It is true, he's noticed far too long.
- 15:50Speaker 2: You enjoy a bit. I'm gonna say, yeah, I know,
- 15:54Speaker 2: we do.
- 15:55Speaker 1: We absolutely do so based on I don't know if
- 15:59Speaker 1: it's going to be brutal, but I'm just saying. I'm
- 16:02Speaker 1: just saying, there are a few items you left out
- 16:04Speaker 1: of your holiday guide that we've decided to include in
- 16:07Speaker 1: our Treouse Christmas Catalog that I think people would enjoy,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and I'll send you links from which you can buy
- 16:15Speaker 1: these items for your family.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Steve, can I open the links at work? Or do
- 16:18Speaker 2: I should I show that at home?
- 16:21Speaker 1: You know what, I think your search history is probably
- 16:23Speaker 1: going to be similar to mine, so I think the
- 16:26Speaker 1: company is going to know it's like, oh that's Steve
- 16:28Speaker 1: or that's day and again, it's fine. Just let them
- 16:30Speaker 1: do what they're doing. They're doing just at the end
- 16:32Speaker 1: of the day, they trust you, right, Okay, So yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: these these Yeah, there's nothing on here that's like dark
- 16:37Speaker 1: web related that you can't open at work. Okay, so
- 16:42Speaker 1: the first one here is an item that my wife
- 16:44Speaker 1: actually found on Amazon and she couldn't resist sending me
- 16:47Speaker 1: a link to. They were even on an episode of
- 16:50Speaker 1: Shark Tank a couple of years ago. And these guys
- 16:51Speaker 1: are from North Texas Steve Noviello. The first item up
- 16:56Speaker 1: for well, not bids, but you can find one in
- 17:00Speaker 1: the Treehouse Christmas catalog is the crap strap. This is
- 17:03Speaker 1: a real item. You can type it in. It's available
- 17:07Speaker 1: on Amazon, and I'm not kidding, this was available on
- 17:09Speaker 1: Shark Tank. It is an outdoor pooping accessory. So that
- 17:13Speaker 1: way you don't have to, like if you're old and
- 17:15Speaker 1: got bad knees or bad hips and you have a
- 17:18Speaker 1: hard time, you know, standing up from a squatting position.
- 17:20Speaker 1: This way you don't have to worry about it. You
- 17:21Speaker 1: just tie the strap around the tree, lean up against
- 17:23Speaker 1: the padded backrest, and do your business in nature. It
- 17:27Speaker 1: also hooks up to a trailer hitch in case you
- 17:30Speaker 1: can't find a tree.
- 17:31Speaker 5: You know.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Here's the thing, I mean, one does want to be
- 17:34Speaker 2: relaxed when you know expelling their bowels. But that tree,
- 17:39Speaker 2: and I know not everybody can see it. I don't
- 17:42Speaker 2: know that I would trust that tree versus how big
- 17:44Speaker 2: that name is.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I with you, especially when in the background there's a
- 17:47Speaker 1: tree that's easily doubled the size exactly on a trunk. Yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 1: that's not the tree I would have picked out of
- 17:53Speaker 1: those two in the frame. I do say though, that
- 17:57Speaker 1: while another photo had the option of strapping this thing too,
- 18:00Speaker 1: trailer hitch. Just what's that?
- 18:03Speaker 2: I said, Look who's here by the way, Oh this
- 18:05Speaker 2: is great.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, this is what you need to get. This is
- 18:07Speaker 1: what you need to get, Hannah for Christmas. One of
- 18:09Speaker 1: these one of these outdoor pooping straps.
- 18:12Speaker 2: That's the crap strap you. They're doing their own gift guide.
- 18:17Speaker 2: So when you and Kevin are out in the wiles,
- 18:19Speaker 2: is there a hammock in there?
- 18:20Speaker 1: That's what I need for you, Hannah. I'm sure they
- 18:23Speaker 1: throw it in. Yeah, but be careful if you got
- 18:28Speaker 1: a buddy that's in the truck, you don't want him
- 18:30Speaker 1: driving off when you're attached to the trailer hitch. All right,
- 18:34Speaker 1: So the next item that available in the Treos Christmas
- 18:37Speaker 1: catalog that I think Hannah will be thoroughly interested in.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Is the is the Lake Cuomo Air Show.
- 18:47Speaker 2: For the air in the can of air from Lake Pomo?
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yemhm show? That's right. Yeah, we do a lot of
- 18:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of overlapping between the programs here, mainly
- 18:56Speaker 1: because Steve steals from me and the nice steel from
- 18:58Speaker 1: him lies. So this is the Lake Como Canaver only
- 19:02Speaker 1: eleven dollars and you can get that if you don't
- 19:04Speaker 1: already have multiples sent to you, guys. But that's one
- 19:07Speaker 1: that should have been in your guide, Steve. And if
- 19:10Speaker 1: you don't want that, there's always the Klandal, which I'm
- 19:15Speaker 1: sure you guys.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Talked about on last call.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Man, are you stalking me?
- 19:20Speaker 1: Are you no? Because Steve, this is a story. This
- 19:22Speaker 1: is a story that actually came out months ago that
- 19:25Speaker 1: you were slow to pick up on until after I
- 19:28Speaker 1: talked about it in the treehouse first, then you did
- 19:30Speaker 1: it on last call, and now I'm doing it again,
- 19:33Speaker 1: and this is how it all works out. It's all accesstuous.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Fine. We do it to move though, because Hannah has
- 19:37Speaker 2: to start the new news, so I need to say
- 19:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna walk.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I could do the new News with Hannah just throw
- 19:41Speaker 1: me out.
- 19:41Speaker 2: You're good, We're good, we have we have image.
- 19:46Speaker 1: How about that now?
- 19:47Speaker 2: The clandal, I mean, but come on, like you had
- 19:49Speaker 2: one job? Like, who thought that that was? Okay? Is
- 19:52Speaker 2: my question to me.
- 19:53Speaker 1: It's so obvious. How do you not see it?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Well, So in the segment that we did, we showed
- 19:59Speaker 2: the clan and we also then showed other unfortunate logo
- 20:04Speaker 2: fails which really make for a for a fund for
- 20:08Speaker 2: a fun segment.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Okay, and that's available on the foxfour News dot com
- 20:12Speaker 1: website as well. You know what we actually, oh, Steve
- 20:17Speaker 1: walked around too much and froze up on us.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I believe it was on this week.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Oh okay, cool, Yeah, all right, a couple more clickings
- 20:23Speaker 1: and I'll let you go. Okay. Also, we've got the
- 20:27Speaker 1: the cow onesie soaked in meth amphetamines, which I have
- 20:31Speaker 1: called the meth pajamas.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Uh.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Actually a man was just busted recently in la at
- 20:37Speaker 1: Lax trying to smuggle uh meth soaked pajamas to Sydney, Australia.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And so this is a meth soaked cow onesie that
- 20:48Speaker 1: you could have, Steve.
- 20:52Speaker 3: And.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the better signal area.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Did you're a care right there? Nop, No, it was not.
- 21:04Speaker 7: I like it.
- 21:04Speaker 1: We're getting a guid to a personalized the four studios.
- 21:08Speaker 2: There we are there right? Okay?
- 21:10Speaker 1: All right? So you see the the it's the the
- 21:14Speaker 1: meth pajamas. It is a methamphetamine soaked cow Onesie. A
- 21:20Speaker 1: guy from California was just busted at Lax with this
- 21:23Speaker 1: what he was trying to check it to go to Sydney, Australia.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Oh my, okay people, I mean, well, yeah, that's pretty impressive.
- 21:36Speaker 1: And then finally, I'm not sure if you saw this before.
- 21:38Speaker 1: It is political in nature, but we don't get too
- 21:39Speaker 1: political on the show. And that is the Trumpy Trout
- 21:43Speaker 1: Limited Edition fifty promises to make fishing great again. The
- 21:49Speaker 1: Trumpy Trout. I swear to god this is real. It
- 21:52Speaker 1: is a real product with a real commercial and a
- 21:54Speaker 1: real website and you can have one it hangs on
- 21:56Speaker 1: your wall or the Deluxe edition that can sit on
- 21:59Speaker 1: your day.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I love it. I love it for it. I mean
- 22:03Speaker 2: looks like you might want to sit under your desk.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Frankly, yes, I think that that. Also when we first
- 22:12Speaker 1: talked about the Trump Bet Trout was mentioned as as
- 22:16Speaker 1: something that we feel like some people might think of doing.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Whether or not they do it, it's totally up to
- 22:20Speaker 1: them what you do with the trumpet trout. That's between
- 22:23Speaker 1: you and the fish. So there you go. There's the
- 22:25Speaker 1: Treehouse Christmas catalog ideas. There's a few others, but I
- 22:28Speaker 1: don't know if you're much of a drinker. I was
- 22:30Speaker 1: gonna I don't have any photos of ditch Gin, but
- 22:33Speaker 1: if I do, I'll throw it at you.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Sounds delicious.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Well all right, well, Steve, we always appreciate you taking
- 22:41Speaker 1: the time. Thanks for the Thanks for the guided tour
- 22:43Speaker 1: of the fox Ward building in Dallas. We appreciate it.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Thanks for saying hi to Hannah Forest. We also appreciate that.
- 22:49Speaker 1: And anything we can ever promote for you, send it
- 22:52Speaker 1: to my email that I'll now also sign as Steve
- 22:54Speaker 1: Noviello's email truck deal.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I'll see you guys soon.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Take care.
- 23:02Speaker 4: You're in the tree House.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Let's get Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the Treehouse now.

- 23:18Speaker 1: give her and all of them. They're a call to one, fourth, three, six, eight,
- 23:22Speaker 1: thirty eight, thirty eight the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com.
- 23:25Speaker 1: When I had my house in Dallas, Jacqueline, you came
- 23:28Speaker 1: out a few times to help us with some issues,
- 23:30Speaker 1: and your response time was phenomenal. And it wasn't just
- 23:34Speaker 1: because it was me. It was because that's the kind
- 23:37Speaker 1: of company you run. You go out of your way
- 23:39Speaker 1: trying to help every client and try to get there
- 23:41Speaker 1: as soon as you can.
- 23:42Speaker 8: Well, I mean, the reality of it is is that
- 23:45Speaker 8: plumbing is unfortunately a need and not so much a want. Yes,
- 23:48Speaker 8: you can want to remodel the bathroom and that's not pressing,
- 23:52Speaker 8: but typically when it comes to service or leak investigations,
- 23:55Speaker 8: et cetera, et cetera. If you've got to stoppage on
- 23:58Speaker 8: the mainline and you don't know and you keep putting
- 24:02Speaker 8: liquid or you know, waste into the drains, if it
- 24:08Speaker 8: has nowhere to go, it will come back in the
- 24:10Speaker 8: house and at that point in time, it's no longer
- 24:13Speaker 8: a want, it's a need, and that sort of thing
- 24:15Speaker 8: can't wait. When you have those emergencies, you have got
- 24:20Speaker 8: to figure out how to manage the crew so that
- 24:22Speaker 8: you can have the best response time.
- 24:24Speaker 1: That's right, and they'll show up and they'll do it quickly.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Called Jaqueline from Brooks Plumbing for any and all of
- 24:29Speaker 1: those plumbing once and needs, two, one, four, six, thirty eight,
- 24:32Speaker 1: thirty eight and again. That website Brooks Plumbing, Texas dot com.

- 25:15Speaker 1: gmail dot com to advertise right here inside the treehouse.
- 25:19Speaker 1: And we are back inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley
- 25:21Speaker 1: along with Jerry Caldwell on Fred Day, December sixth, twenty
- 25:26Speaker 1: twenty four. I almost forgot to say it the right
- 25:28Speaker 1: way today, but I rectified it.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Uh.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Speaking of rectifying things, Jerry, would you want an extra
- 25:36Speaker 1: finger if you could nothing happens to your existing ones,
- 25:43Speaker 1: you just get an extra finger. What about what about
- 25:46Speaker 1: a third thumb? Would you like a third thumb.
- 25:51Speaker 7: That might not be terrible.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Now, what if I told you the third thumb is
- 25:57Speaker 1: a robot thumb? Would you like a would you like
- 25:59Speaker 1: a robot Jerry?
- 26:01Speaker 7: Hell?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yes, Well it's that dream may soon become a reality
- 26:06Speaker 1: because thanks to my doom scrolling this week, I discovered
- 26:10Speaker 1: something that I think is being touted as a third thumb.
- 26:14Speaker 1: It is a robotic finger attachment for your hand. Okay,
- 26:20Speaker 1: so here we go. I'm gonna show this to you
- 26:21Speaker 1: real quick. It is the third thumb, robotic finger. It's good.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It's it's a appendage that attaches to your hand, and
- 26:31Speaker 1: it's got like you know, like if you open your
- 26:33Speaker 1: hand up, why, like you spread all your fingers out
- 26:36Speaker 1: like you like one of those like kindergarten turkeys. You
- 26:39Speaker 1: see where your thumb is, now, imagine across the your
- 26:42Speaker 1: palm where there's nothing, it's just palm. Imagine there was
- 26:46Speaker 1: another thumb there that was attached through some robotic type
- 26:50Speaker 1: thingies and what looks to be some silicone that would
- 26:53Speaker 1: give you this third thumb, which then you could use
- 26:56Speaker 1: for various things like they show in the video, such as, oh,
- 27:02Speaker 1: making fists, grabbing four oranges, grabbing a bottle and making
- 27:08Speaker 1: put the cap with the same handgressive right, and other
- 27:14Speaker 1: uses for the for the third thumb, you could, uh,
- 27:18Speaker 1: I guess it would take your solitaire game to the
- 27:20Speaker 1: next level because you can hold and deal with one
- 27:23Speaker 1: hand with that extra thumb.
- 27:26Speaker 7: And great for uno too, and you've got a fist
- 27:28Speaker 7: full of cards.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Yeah, fistful of uno. Mm hmmmmm pretty sure. That's my
- 27:35Speaker 1: nickname when I was thirteen. Uh. Also you can take
- 27:40Speaker 1: you can hold a marker and take the cap off
- 27:42Speaker 1: of it with one hand. If you have a third thumb,
- 27:45Speaker 1: that's a robot And then you could peel and eat
- 27:50Speaker 1: in a banana all with one hand if you have
- 27:54Speaker 1: a robot thumb in addition to your other ones. Now,
- 27:58Speaker 1: part of what they say about this is true. They
- 28:00Speaker 1: you know, they mentioned that while it's a third thumb,
- 28:03Speaker 1: and it's you know, it's it's not just for the
- 28:07Speaker 1: able bodied. Because this is from researchers from the University
- 28:11Speaker 1: of Cambridge. They developed this third thumb. It's a robotic
- 28:14Speaker 1: prosthetic that significantly enhances hand functionality. The third thumb exemplifies
- 28:20Speaker 1: the potential of human augmentation technologies to integrate seamlessly into
- 28:24Speaker 1: daily life. I also feel like this should have been
- 28:27Speaker 1: included on Steve Novilla's Holiday Guide. Well, I guess we
- 28:30Speaker 1: can throw it into ours to our Christmas catalog. And
- 28:33Speaker 1: this third thumb would offer new possibilities for both disabled
- 28:36Speaker 1: and able bodied individuals. So that's the nice benefit here.
- 28:42Speaker 1: This works if maybe you're missing a finger, or if
- 28:45Speaker 1: you just want an extra one and feel like showing off,
- 28:49Speaker 1: so you can peel and eat a banana with one hand,
- 28:51Speaker 1: and also you can stir and hold a cup of
- 28:57Speaker 1: coffee at the same time. And I feel like there
- 29:04Speaker 1: are other uses as well when you've got a hand
- 29:06Speaker 1: that's got an additional finger. I think I think you
- 29:11Speaker 1: know where I'm going with this. I mean it starts
- 29:16Speaker 1: with a third thumb, but eventually we're gonna want to
- 29:24Speaker 1: right because then that way you you can tell you
- 29:27Speaker 1: can tell your significant others like hey, or maybe it'd
- 29:30Speaker 1: be more like on a Hinge profile. It's like everybody
- 29:34Speaker 1: else got one. I got two, and the second one
- 29:37Speaker 1: is robotic.
- 29:43Speaker 7: So where the first one out, Yeah, that's true. The
- 29:46Speaker 7: other one can spell you.
- 29:50Speaker 1: That's something else would be really interesting is uh for spelling,
- 29:53Speaker 1: like for uh for for a sign language. Oh, if
- 29:59Speaker 1: you can throw an addition words or something if you
- 30:01Speaker 1: haven't if you have an additional finger on there. Although
- 30:04Speaker 1: I have seen that as well. They actually have now
- 30:06Speaker 1: there and they've invented this and this is this is
- 30:08Speaker 1: really awesome. It's hands that when you do the signs
- 30:12Speaker 1: for sign language, it says the words out loud, so
- 30:18Speaker 1: that way someone that is signing who may be deaf
- 30:21Speaker 1: can talk to someone like you or me, Jerry, if
- 30:24Speaker 1: we don't know sign language, we can then hear the
- 30:26Speaker 1: words that are being spoken with their hands.
- 30:30Speaker 7: That's very cool. It's like Babbelfish for sign language.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and look, going back to this robotic thumb, the
- 30:37Speaker 1: extra finger, the third thumb as they're calling it. We're
- 30:41Speaker 1: all we're all familiar with the shocker, right, oh yeah,
- 30:45Speaker 1: two in the two in the front, one in the back.
- 30:47Speaker 1: But now imagine you've got another another finger. I mean,
- 30:53Speaker 1: is that is that then going to be the super shocker?
- 30:55Speaker 1: I it's sort of it's sort of like the first
- 31:00Speaker 1: It's sort of like the first kid in the neighborhood
- 31:01Speaker 1: that got the Nintendo Power glove that put it on
- 31:04Speaker 1: and showed everybody.
- 31:05Speaker 7: Right right, that extra thumb. You know that that'll give
- 31:08Speaker 7: you some extra fingers to, you know, be a little
- 31:10Speaker 7: more creative with.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Hey, baby, have I got a surprise for you?
- 31:15Speaker 7: That's right. Let's just hope it doesn't like start short
- 31:19Speaker 7: circuiting and going crazy.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I don't know. I think some people might be into that.
- 31:27Speaker 4: You're in the tree house.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.

- 32:03Speaker 1: Talk back to the Treehouse Treehouse on Air dot com microphone,
- 32:05Speaker 1: lower right hand corner, and leave us a message. We
- 32:07Speaker 1: appreciate it. Be happy to share those amongst ourselves, and
- 32:11Speaker 1: maybe even right here on the show inside the Treehouse
- 32:15Speaker 1: and inside the Treehouse right now, I have a special
- 32:19Speaker 1: little treat for you. And I'm not just talking about
- 32:22Speaker 1: my cousin in law I med barucha, but in in
- 32:24Speaker 1: fact prescial little treat from him that he has shared
- 32:29Speaker 1: with the world that I think it's important that we
- 32:32Speaker 1: use this introduce him to our Treehouse family. So here
- 32:36Speaker 1: we go. Take it it too far. With cows, we
- 32:42Speaker 1: kill them, we eat them, we wear them.
- 32:44Speaker 9: That's on par with most animals. With cows, we also
- 32:48Speaker 9: eat veal, which are their children.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Then we drink their milk.
- 32:52Speaker 9: Doesn't sound as bad, but it's the milk intended for
- 32:56Speaker 9: their children. We eat their babies, and then we eat
- 33:02Speaker 9: their babies food.
- 33:06Speaker 1: With cookies. Don't get cookies in there.
- 33:17Speaker 9: But then on top of all of that, we take
- 33:21Speaker 9: pictures of our missing children.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Put them on their meth.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Hey started to killing your kid. Haven't seen my kid though,
- 33:43Speaker 1: So he's not just my cousin in law at least
- 33:44Speaker 1: I think that's how we're technically related. He is a
- 33:47Speaker 1: outstanding touring professional comedian. Ahmed Barucha actor as well, joining
- 33:52Speaker 1: us from the Left Coast. Ahmed, Great, it's great to
- 33:55Speaker 1: have you inside the tree for the first time.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Yeay, Hey, thanks for having me.
- 34:00Speaker 1: It's only been years in the making. Yeah. So I
- 34:03Speaker 1: say that, and I uh, I say that you're my
- 34:06Speaker 1: cousin in law, and I think that's actually technically how
- 34:08Speaker 1: we're related because my wife, Tara, her cousin. Yeah, is
- 34:14Speaker 1: your wife.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that's that's the only way we can
- 34:17Speaker 5: call it.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's correct. I'm not good at genealogy
- 34:21Speaker 1: and family tree, so I think that's what we're technically
- 34:25Speaker 1: have to.
- 34:25Speaker 5: Do, like a twenty three and meters or something to
- 34:27Speaker 5: figure out.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna laugh if we come up like, yeah, I
- 34:32Speaker 1: am adopted, So who knows why I would you?
- 34:34Speaker 5: I'm half Irish? Where are you Irish?
- 34:36Speaker 1: I'm like, Oklahoma Irish?
- 34:37Speaker 10: Okay, I'm a Rhode Island Irish.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Maybe our families crossed paths somewhere in tennesse here or something.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Yeah, probably Tennessee.
- 34:46Speaker 1: The uh so I mentioned it? You are? You are
- 34:48Speaker 1: a touring comedian. How how many days out of the
- 34:50Speaker 1: year you on the road?
- 34:52Speaker 7: Oh?
- 34:52Speaker 5: Man, lately I haven't been doing much touring.
- 34:54Speaker 10: Just have a kid's now, so doing a lot of
- 34:57Speaker 10: like just stuff around LA. But yeah, you know I
- 35:01Speaker 10: get out every once in a while, trying to go
- 35:03Speaker 10: out too far.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Well, I will say this that, whenever you want to
- 35:07Speaker 1: come back to Texas, we'll be happy to help you
- 35:10Speaker 1: promote those gigs, whether it's you know, df W, Houston,
- 35:15Speaker 1: Austin area, whatever the case is, be happy to do
- 35:17Speaker 1: that for you. So you're also I mean, you're kind
- 35:21Speaker 1: of a Hollywood guy, but not like crazy Hollywood guy.
- 35:24Speaker 1: So occasionally what happens is Tara and I'll be watching
- 35:28Speaker 1: TV and we'll see you on TV. Yeah, and Jerry
- 35:33Speaker 1: you may have seen him as well and maybe not
- 35:34Speaker 1: even realized it. So have you ever seen a Skittles
- 35:37Speaker 1: commercial where it's like some dudes hanging off the side
- 35:39Speaker 1: of a cliff. I think, yes, one of those guys
- 35:43Speaker 1: is I ed. Yeah, Tittles my favorite candy. How long
- 35:51Speaker 1: ago did you actually shoot that spot?
- 35:53Speaker 10: That was actually the first commercial I ever shot. It
- 35:55Speaker 10: was like over ten years ago. Now it was the
- 35:58Speaker 10: best paying one. I honestly, after that, I was like,
- 36:01Speaker 10: all I need is another commercial and I'll be set.
- 36:03Speaker 5: But that was just misleading. So I think, like, you know.
- 36:06Speaker 10: It's actually Starburst, but everyone thinks the skills because there's
- 36:09Speaker 10: like roundless sears coming out of the dragon's eyes in it.
- 36:13Speaker 10: But I think it's like candies, like drugs for kids.
- 36:16Speaker 5: That's why I paid so well. I gotta get more
- 36:20Speaker 5: candy commercials, I think is the key.
- 36:23Speaker 1: No, you're right, I mean it is. It is sort
- 36:24Speaker 1: of government you know endorsed yea, you know addiction because
- 36:29Speaker 1: I don't know if you ever saw this, but I
- 36:30Speaker 1: remember years ago they did a study where they actually
- 36:34Speaker 1: got it was either rice, either rice, it was either
- 36:37Speaker 1: mice or rats. And they had got two groups. One
- 36:42Speaker 1: they got hooked on heroin and another one they got
- 36:44Speaker 1: hooked on sugar. Yeah, and they found that the rats,
- 36:49Speaker 1: when the sugar went away or however they did the experiment,
- 36:52Speaker 1: I don't remember exactly because my brain don't work too good,
- 36:55Speaker 1: they were more addicted to the sugar than they were heroin.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Wow.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why I've been trying to switch over to
- 37:01Speaker 5: heroin myself.
- 37:05Speaker 1: It's more exciting, right, Yeah you know. Noah, you're right.
- 37:09Speaker 1: So it was a Starburs commercial, but you're right, your
- 37:11Speaker 1: little tears coming out. That's why my brain I was
- 37:13Speaker 1: thinking skittles, But.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Yeah, that would have.
- 37:15Speaker 10: I almost didn't even shoot that one because I have
- 37:17Speaker 10: a sketch group and we were like shooting sketches like
- 37:20Speaker 10: the same day, and I just moved to LA and
- 37:22Speaker 10: just not too long before that, and I was like, oh,
- 37:26Speaker 10: I can't do this. I got to shoot some sketches
- 37:28Speaker 10: and they're like someone who is more in the no,
- 37:30Speaker 10: was like, no, you have to do the commercial.
- 37:34Speaker 5: For like ten years.
- 37:35Speaker 1: God, so on a commercial like that, because you know,
- 37:39Speaker 1: we only have like occasionally people were like one degree
- 37:43Speaker 1: of separation from Hollywood. One because I know you, another
- 37:47Speaker 1: because we have other Our buddy Raj who's on the
- 37:49Speaker 1: show lived in La rosch Armor. He lived in La
- 37:52Speaker 1: for a number of years, did a lot of hosting
- 37:54Speaker 1: at the Laugh Factory. He's back in Texas now. He
- 37:56Speaker 1: does the show regularly. Our buddy tone Bell that we
- 38:00Speaker 1: known for years, so we were all in the same
- 38:03Speaker 1: sort of we know a lot of the same people,
- 38:06Speaker 1: and so I am not in Hollywood. Jerry is not
- 38:08Speaker 1: in Hollywood, but we know a few people that are.
- 38:10Speaker 1: So it makes us feel special. But when you shoot
- 38:13Speaker 1: a commercial like that Starbus commercial, like you said, it's
- 38:15Speaker 1: ten years ago, Yeah, and I saw it like I've
- 38:19Speaker 1: seen it within the last year.
- 38:20Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Is that a residual thing for you or did you
- 38:23Speaker 1: get paid one time and it was just good one
- 38:26Speaker 1: pay check and then they own it forever.
- 38:28Speaker 10: No, that was residuals And I've never even gotten residuals
- 38:31Speaker 10: close to that. Like that was definitely like my I'm
- 38:33Speaker 10: always chasing that that commercial. That one, it was like
- 38:37Speaker 10: it was crazy, Like they started playing in China and
- 38:40Speaker 10: like they like re up to the contract, so that
- 38:43Speaker 10: was cool. Every time that one gets played all that,
- 38:46Speaker 10: I haven't seen money from that one a while, so
- 38:47Speaker 10: now I'm like, hey.
- 38:48Speaker 5: You saw it recently.
- 38:48Speaker 10: I got to figure they're also like really easily able
- 38:52Speaker 10: to like just not pay me, I think because I
- 38:54Speaker 10: have no idea.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Especially especially through all the streaming stuff, because I think
- 38:58Speaker 1: that's the most recent time and I saw it. It might
- 39:00Speaker 1: might have been on like a Hulu ad.
- 39:02Speaker 10: Yeah, there's all these like sneaky stuff they do with
- 39:04Speaker 10: contracts and stuff, and I'm too dumb to figure that out.
- 39:07Speaker 10: Like I was on a TV show for a while,
- 39:09Speaker 10: and someone who's way more like in the in Hollywood
- 39:13Speaker 10: they kind of noticed like, hey, this money's not adding up,
- 39:15Speaker 10: but I would never I'm like, hey, two dollars thanks.
- 39:20Speaker 1: And you laugh, Jerry. But sometimes that's the residual check
- 39:23Speaker 1: that you get, like in case, I can't remember who
- 39:25Speaker 1: it is, but occasionally actors will show their residual check
- 39:28Speaker 1: from a movie or a TV show and it'll be
- 39:31Speaker 1: for sins literal sense that they get issued to check.
- 39:34Speaker 1: It cost more to print and ship the check to
- 39:37Speaker 1: the individual than the amount of the check itself. Yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 1: I've been there.
- 39:41Speaker 7: I've seen those checks. I've filmed a few commercials before,
- 39:45Speaker 7: and oddly enough, the one that I got paid the
- 39:46Speaker 7: most for was from the Gaylord, Texan and that was
- 39:49Speaker 7: a commercial that was shot basically to be shown inside
- 39:52Speaker 7: the hotel and you know, to other businesses and stuff.
- 39:57Speaker 7: It wasn't really out on television.
- 39:59Speaker 5: Just that screen and that's on when you turn on
- 40:01Speaker 5: the TV.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I just always imagine you though. I always forget
- 40:06Speaker 1: that you were an actor, Jerry, but I sometimes think that,
- 40:08Speaker 1: like your biggest roles were in like those coin operated
- 40:11Speaker 1: adult jacks. I mean, do you notice how he's not
- 40:17Speaker 1: denying that at all, not at all.
- 40:21Speaker 7: Fifty I got you, baby, don't google me too hard.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I always forget this and I meant to look it
- 40:27Speaker 1: up beforehand. The TV show that you mentioned, what was
- 40:31Speaker 1: the TV show that you were.
- 40:32Speaker 5: On, Dream Corp LLC.
- 40:34Speaker 10: That's like, yeah, that's my my favorite thing I've done.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I remember when that was going on. It is just
- 40:41Speaker 1: you know, it was years ago and I'm seeing you
- 40:43Speaker 1: post different things about it and seeing the show, and
- 40:46Speaker 1: it was like that is that is a cool concert
- 40:48Speaker 1: for a show, and it's it's like anyone that ever
- 40:50Speaker 1: gets to LA if they have dreams of not necessarily stardom,
- 40:55Speaker 1: which it might be just that, but from an artist's standpoint,
- 40:58Speaker 1: from a comedian or an actors standpoint, just getting something,
- 41:01Speaker 1: being a part of something that gets made, it's got
- 41:03Speaker 1: to be a great feeling, especially if you also love
- 41:05Speaker 1: the actual material.
- 41:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:07Speaker 10: That that was just yea all around the coolest thing
- 41:10Speaker 10: I And uh, the director is like he was pretty
- 41:12Speaker 10: trusting of me, So I didn't have a lot of
- 41:14Speaker 10: lines in the show, but I would just make up
- 41:16Speaker 10: a lot of stuff, like like before we shoot and
- 41:20Speaker 10: we you know, we had three seasons, so by like
- 41:22Speaker 10: season three, I got pretty good at like knowing when
- 41:24Speaker 10: to like shoot my shot. You know, like in the beginning,
- 41:28Speaker 10: I'd do some dumb thing in the background. They'd be
- 41:29Speaker 10: like stop doing that. Uh, But then I'd figure out,
- 41:33Speaker 10: like wait, like weight three takes when everyone's bored of
- 41:35Speaker 10: what's happening, and I'll like fall in the background or something.
- 41:39Speaker 7: Whatever you guys were doing. You got one hundred percent
- 41:42Speaker 7: rating on Rotten Tomatoes, So yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I was.
- 41:45Speaker 10: I mean, it's it's I really love that show. It
- 41:48Speaker 10: was really artistic and beautiful, but lots of dick jokes.
- 41:53Speaker 10: Kind of like a good mix of uh, being artsy
- 41:55Speaker 10: and not too full of it, like too serious in itself. Uh.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like you've you've kind of described our show.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Yeah yours, Yours actually sounds a little more high brow
- 42:06Speaker 1: than Yeah.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Yeah, there was some kind of like message somewhere in there.
- 42:11Speaker 1: It's Ahmed Barucha right here inside the Treehouse. Back with
- 42:14Speaker 1: more after this.
- 42:17Speaker 4: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse
- 42:22Speaker 4: on Air dot com.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Your visit us online a Treehouse on air dot com.
- 42:46Speaker 1: This is the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Jerry Caldwell,
- 42:49Speaker 1: and our special little treat today is a man actually, uh,
- 42:55Speaker 1: I think it is an actor comedian, Ahmed Barut Chip
- 43:01Speaker 1: and we're not having him on just because of nepotism,
- 43:03Speaker 1: because he's my cousin in law, but also because he's
- 43:05Speaker 1: actually a genuinely funny and talented man. So thank you
- 43:09Speaker 1: for taking the time and hopping on with us. And
- 43:11Speaker 1: speaking of being a man and talented and funny, you've
- 43:15Speaker 1: decided recently to share those talents with those who need guidance. Yes,
- 43:20Speaker 1: so you're you're taking on pupils. Now you're actually you're
- 43:23Speaker 1: doing something that very few dare and that is teaching
- 43:28Speaker 1: comedy to the masses.
- 43:29Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, I've been starting starting to teach stand up comedy.
- 43:32Speaker 5: I've been stand up for twenty years.
- 43:34Speaker 10: So I was, you know, trying to think a way
- 43:36Speaker 10: to make money during the day, and I was like,
- 43:38Speaker 10: I should become a teacher. And I was gonna be
- 43:40Speaker 10: like get a history degree and a geography degree. I
- 43:43Speaker 10: was like, wait, I shouldn't teach the thing I've been
- 43:45Speaker 10: spending my whole life doing.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Yeah, because because the other way that made you have
- 43:48Speaker 1: to actually learn stuff.
- 43:49Speaker 5: Yeah exactly.
- 43:51Speaker 10: I was like it was like a month where I
- 43:53Speaker 10: was like, I don't even know how to write a paper,
- 43:55Speaker 10: but I guess I'll.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Try to try to learn history. I do a lot
- 43:59Speaker 5: of YouTube history. I could figure it out.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I hadn't thought about that. You're right, because, I mean
- 44:04Speaker 1: people make jokes all the time about YouTube university, but
- 44:07Speaker 1: it is a real thing. I mean anywhere from learning
- 44:09Speaker 1: how to change out on electrical socket to probably learning
- 44:13Speaker 1: how to how to become a history teacher or just
- 44:15Speaker 1: learn about history. Period it's all available there. That makes sense.
- 44:20Speaker 10: Yeah, but say I've been teaching class and really loving it,
- 44:22Speaker 10: and I do offer a zoom one too, So anyone
- 44:24Speaker 10: out there can can also learn from from anywhere they are.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Well, that's cool. So where can where can someone go? H?
- 44:32Speaker 1: I know some radio people that need to learn about comedy.
- 44:35Speaker 1: So what what website can I send them to to
- 44:38Speaker 1: help them in their careers?
- 44:40Speaker 5: Sure, it's Ahmed'scomedyschool dot com.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Ahmed'scomedyschool dot com. Uh and uh and just so it's
- 44:49Speaker 1: also out there as well. What are your socials?
- 44:52Speaker 10: Ahmed Barucha on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, a little bit, Twitter,
- 44:58Speaker 10: I never tweet, but mostly Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I guess you sound like us because I mean, at
- 45:05Speaker 1: a certain point, there's so many platforms. Hey, which one
- 45:08Speaker 1: am I going to actually work on? Because yeah, they're
- 45:10Speaker 1: all different exactly.
- 45:12Speaker 10: Instagram is probably the one I'm most active on, and
- 45:14Speaker 10: I put out sketches on YouTube.
- 45:16Speaker 5: Under Dead Kevin is my sketch group name.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Pretty cool. We'll do that as well on our Instagram.
- 45:21Speaker 1: That's probably where we're most active. Facebook and Instagram are
- 45:24Speaker 1: a top two. Twitter was for a while and then
- 45:28Speaker 1: I kind of fell off of that and then Trey,
- 45:30Speaker 1: ironically enough, our co host, who's fifty years old, is
- 45:34Speaker 1: the biggest TikToker among us. Oh we let him do that.
- 45:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so kind of like you were there, but it's not,
- 45:42Speaker 1: yeah exactly, but yeah, if it's cool with you, we'll
- 45:45Speaker 1: share some of your stuff on our Instagram as well. Yeah,
- 45:48Speaker 1: that'll be awesome at Treehouse on air.
- 45:52Speaker 5: Oh, I also have a dry bar special that they
- 45:54Speaker 5: want me to promote.
- 45:54Speaker 1: So go to drive Yeah do that.
- 45:56Speaker 10: Yeah, drive Barcomedy dot com. I think, and you put
- 45:59Speaker 10: my name in and I think I get some money
- 46:01Speaker 10: for that.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Anything we can do to help you in your growing
- 46:05Speaker 1: family because we are we are technically family.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Uh.
- 46:09Speaker 1: My wife is married. So I almost said it again.
- 46:12Speaker 7: I've done this before.
- 46:13Speaker 1: And I've tried to describe it to people. My wife
- 46:15Speaker 1: is married to his wife. No, that's a totally different Uh.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Your wife and my wife are cousins, and we are
- 46:27Speaker 1: tom slip again and make it even worse, But.
- 46:30Speaker 5: We have different wives and they are related.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Yes, and there's no crossing over anyway. That's how that's
- 46:37Speaker 1: how we are related. And and the first time we met,
- 46:43Speaker 1: do you remember that because I want Jerry to hear
- 46:45Speaker 1: this story. I believe it was that, and it's very
- 46:51Speaker 1: important that I ask you do you remember that? Because Jerry,
- 46:55Speaker 1: that was a night that I played bartender, and when
- 46:57Speaker 1: I played bartender, I have I have a problem.
- 47:03Speaker 7: And so does everyone else.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Yes, I'm not even sure if mom had remembered that night.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Did we meet some people family?
- 47:12Speaker 5: Who was that guy?
- 47:15Speaker 1: I just knuck in? Yeah, No, we did, like it was.
- 47:19Speaker 1: It was at their nana's house. So it was uh
- 47:22Speaker 1: nana who was an amazing lady. Yeah, uh from the
- 47:25Speaker 1: from the my check clan. And she lived into her nineties. Ever, yeah,
- 47:34Speaker 1: by herself lived into her nineties. The house that she
- 47:38Speaker 1: lived in and eventually passed away in was in Port Austin, Michigan.
- 47:42Speaker 1: The tip of the thumb, as as my wife likes
- 47:44Speaker 1: to say, and it's right. It was a beach house
- 47:46Speaker 1: because it's a great lake. You can't see Canada at all.
- 47:49Speaker 1: It's just it looks like the ocean.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Ye.
- 47:51Speaker 1: She and her husband built that house literally by hand.
- 47:55Speaker 1: They have photos of it in the photo albums where
- 47:57Speaker 1: she's like handing him the stones and he's setting them.
- 48:00Speaker 1: So in that house is where Ahmed and I first met,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and that's when I played bartender and we were on
- 48:04Speaker 1: the top floor playing shuffle board for way too long,
- 48:05Speaker 1: drinking way too.
- 48:07Speaker 10: Okay, now I remember that.
- 48:10Speaker 5: It's all coming back.
- 48:12Speaker 1: It's still fuzzy, isn't it.
- 48:13Speaker 5: You taste?
- 48:17Speaker 1: That was not his fault.
- 48:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that was not.
- 48:22Speaker 1: So that's how that's that's the first time that we
- 48:24Speaker 1: actually met. And then again for Ahmed and Abbey's wedding
- 48:28Speaker 1: in San Francisco, which was very cool.
- 48:30Speaker 5: That was fun.
- 48:33Speaker 1: I didn't bartend that one, so good thing. You remember,
- 48:35Speaker 1: you had the money and now now you and Abby
- 48:40Speaker 1: you got a couple of kids, and and I saw
- 48:44Speaker 1: this story and you were going to be on today.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I thought, okay, this is perfect because, uh, how old
- 48:48Speaker 1: is you? How old is your son now? Seven seven
- 48:51Speaker 1: years old? Eventually he's going to be twelve and then
- 48:57Speaker 1: eventually he's going to get into trouble and things like that.
- 49:00Speaker 1: The story actually happened in twenty fourteen, but it's you
- 49:05Speaker 1: know how things boomerang online. It's come back around the
- 49:09Speaker 1: story about a French kid who had a dentist appointment,
- 49:15Speaker 1: and in order to avoid his dentist appointment, he hid
- 49:18Speaker 1: in the Alps and then when he was found, he
- 49:23Speaker 1: told the police he had been kidnapped. So imagine your future, Ahmed,
- 49:31Speaker 1: when your son, you know, has a dentist appointment. I
- 49:33Speaker 1: want you to remember this.
- 49:35Speaker 5: Go to the French house.
- 49:39Speaker 1: The story was a train he was But yeah there was.
- 49:43Speaker 1: There was a twelve year old kid who faked his
- 49:45Speaker 1: own kidnapping just to avoid the dentist.
- 49:48Speaker 5: Man. That is that's that's pretty epic. I would I
- 49:51Speaker 5: got to take a note on that. We have some
- 49:54Speaker 5: mountains behind our house. So I I.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Mean, as a dad, would wouldn't you, especially being an
- 50:01Speaker 1: entertainer as you know by by trade. Sure you'd be
- 50:04Speaker 1: upset that he lied and that he ran away and
- 50:07Speaker 1: all these things. But as an entertainer, would you be
- 50:09Speaker 1: a little bit proud? Yeah?
- 50:11Speaker 5: Absolutely. That's just kind of I struggle with is.
- 50:13Speaker 10: I was never a good student, So when my son
- 50:16Speaker 10: does get in trouble in school, I'm like, I don't
- 50:18Speaker 10: want to encourage it.
- 50:19Speaker 5: But I'm also like, nice, good job.
- 50:21Speaker 7: Do you find your kid kids? Do you find your
- 50:24Speaker 7: children to be a constant source of material?
- 50:27Speaker 10: Yeah, A lot of my act has now become about
- 50:30Speaker 10: my kids. But yeah, I honestly, I was selling you
- 50:33Speaker 10: off air there just like getting funnier than me.
- 50:35Speaker 5: It's like frustrating.
- 50:37Speaker 10: My son's like he's kind of like he's got the
- 50:39Speaker 10: energy of like like Robin Williams meets like Jim Carrey
- 50:42Speaker 10: or something.
- 50:42Speaker 5: He's just like always like oh wow, wiggling and twitching.
- 50:45Speaker 5: But he's like.
- 50:47Speaker 10: But he's also clever, so it's yeah, it's he's gonna
- 50:50Speaker 10: be a force to reckon with that.
