- 0:00Coming up on this episode of The Spiro podcast.
- 0:04But each of our developers every day has one big thing, nothing else.
- 0:10And I'm like, don't worry about anything else.
- 0:14Literally.
- 0:14Just try to do this one thing, because if you do this
- 0:18one thing, it's the highest priority thing to make the product better.
- 0:21It will certainly move us forward instead of getting scattered
- 0:24across a bunch of stuff.
- 0:39Hi and welcome to the Spiro Podcast,
- 0:41managing your real estate, photography and videography business.
- 0:45Welcome to the the podcast.
- 0:46I'm Craig Magrum, host of the podcast, and with me each and every week,
- 0:51our founder and owner and co-host of the podcast, Todd Kivimaki
- 0:55Welcome, Todd.
- 0:57Craig. It's another great week here.
- 0:58We are picking up steam.
- 1:00Lots of exciting things happening.
- 1:02I know I've talked to many of you out
- 1:03there as well and you're feeling the same thing.
- 1:05So we've got a great guest on the podcast today.
- 1:08So I mean I'm pumped.
- 1:09I've got a lot of coffee in me, so everybody watch out.
- 1:13I had my Celsius.
- 1:14So yeah, I'm not quite jittery, but I'm right on the verge. No.
- 1:17Oh, come on, caffeine for the morning.
- 1:19Good.
- 1:19Anyway, so I kind of changed up the intro.
- 1:22I kept it short and to the point.
- 1:23But if you are a brand new listener
- 1:25or viewer of the Spiro podcast, you're may be wondering what?
- 1:28What is Spiro? First of all, what does that even mean?
- 1:31Todd, what what is the word?
- 1:33Spiro for those that might not know.
- 1:35Yeah, Spiro is Latin to and meaning to breathe.
- 1:40So when we tried to name the darn company, it was so hard to name.
- 1:43And I mean, every name is picked out there.
- 1:44So you look
- 1:45I mean, we're flipping through books
- 1:47that were like six inches tall looking for words.
- 1:49And we came up with Spiro
- 1:50meant to breathe, and we're like, hey, that's what it does.
- 1:53It allows you to breathe in your business.
- 1:56It's the gears that run that help
- 1:58you grow and scale is how we scaled to over 12,000 jobs a year.
- 2:01And it's what, you know, just what you need.
- 2:05If you've got a gap in systems, you need something that works for you.
- 2:08That's what Spiro does for us. There you go.
- 2:11There you go. Thank you.
- 2:12Appreciate that explanation.
- 2:14All right, so speaking of Spiro software to help you manage and grow your business,
- 2:20what updates do we have
- 2:21this week is and they just keep rolling along.
- 2:25Yeah we have been the team has been busy.
- 2:27So we have, a two tiered update coming up.
- 2:32You all are going to get a an update
- 2:36next Wednesday.
- 2:37And or it's probably this Wednesday for you.
- 2:40And it's going to be a lot of behind the scenes stuff setting some other things up.
- 2:44And you're you're going to notice a few things here
- 2:47and I'll give you release notes.
- 2:48But the big one is going to come about 3 to 4 weeks later, where we're giving you
- 2:51a brand new marketing tool kit from the ground up.
- 2:54You're going to have beautiful fliers, postcards,
- 2:59things like that, but also you're going to have video
- 3:03inside the marketing content, which is going to be great.
- 3:06We've heard it from a lot of you, your clients, a way to export a little MP4
- 3:11that they can upload to all of their social, gives them a little more reach,
- 3:15gives you the ability to educate them just to keep them sticky in your system.
- 3:21So we're excited about that, and we're going to try to couple it
- 3:24with at least one new property website template working on it now.
- 3:28So we're going to we have a great cadence lined up.
- 3:31Now that we're going to give those to you maybe quarterly.
- 3:34We're going to fill out those templates.
- 3:35I know some of your clients never look at them and some of them do.
- 3:39So we want to give turn a little attention to those.
- 3:41So those are some two big things coming up here in the near future.
- 3:45Very cool.
- 3:46And I know last week's episode, 1 or 2 of the comments on the YouTube
- 3:49channel mentioned.
- 3:50Yeah, they would love to see more more property website templates.
- 3:53And so perfect timing for that.
- 3:55And for those of you wondering, yes, we do read the comments
- 3:58that you leave on YouTube and title.
- 4:01Just as a quick aside, you'll get a kick out of this.
- 4:04Oh yeah, please humor me.
- 4:06There were votes for me playing drums at the next,
- 4:10either REPP conference or PMRE.
- 4:13So. Okay, Craig, do you realize what you just told me?
- 4:19I didn't read those comments yet,
- 4:21so I'm I, I just I had to pass it on.
- 4:24I got to be honest, know with my boss.
- 4:28Right.
- 4:30Anyway,
- 4:33so if you all want to see Craig
- 4:35in Vegas,
- 4:38we won't take him to Old Vegas.
- 4:39I forget what it's called.
- 4:40The the the old.
- 4:41That that is not a, off the street.
- 4:45Yeah, yeah, whatever old Vegas is,
- 4:47but we, we'll keep you in the nice part of town.
- 4:51We'll keep you away from any of the the individuals that walk down the street.
- 4:56And we're going to get you a drum set right there, a little tip jar,
- 4:59and I'm going to busk.
- 5:01I'm going to busk in Vegas. There we go.
- 5:04Okay.
- 5:04You want to see Craig in Vegas on the strip with a full drum set?
- 5:10Just give a thumbs up down below. Say yes.
- 5:12Give me flames or fire something.
- 5:14You know what? I'm not going down alone.
- 5:16I'm going to call out a couple of, fellow industry, people here.
- 5:20Did you know Brad Edwards, of Dallas, real estate media?
- 5:25Yeah. What is he is saying?
- 5:27He he's in a band.
- 5:28He plays guitar.
- 5:29Okay.
- 5:29And actually, he and I actually kicked around the edge.
- 5:33I think it was his idea.
- 5:34He he said we should we should get, you know, rep photographer band together
- 5:39because you got you got, Brad, you got myself Michael Burke.
- 5:45He's in a band. Is. That's right. Yeah.
- 5:47And I don't know if he sings or not.
- 5:49We need a vocalist, but that would actually be kind of.
- 5:53That'd be kind of fun.
- 5:54I don't know how you do anyway.
- 5:55Yeah, so if anybody's a vocalist, let us know in the comments below.
- 5:59And this is going to be big.
- 6:02That would be funny. Okay.
- 6:05We we have a guest to get to.
- 6:07Very special.
- 6:08Yes, we do make,
- 6:10you you all, have seen
- 6:12a lot of talk in the Facebook groups and on, you know, various forums
- 6:18about the latest, cutting edge move in our industry
- 6:23in the field of editing photo automatic, AI photo editing.
- 6:28But we've got a very special guest this week that is the I would
- 6:32I would call him the leader in this.
- 6:34Todd, I'm gonna let you introduce our guest, and, we're excited this week.
- 6:39Yeah.
- 6:39So this is an individual who I've gotten to know.
- 6:42Well, we actually went to the old strip.
- 6:45Whatever is, he'll tell you what it's called here in a second.
- 6:47But we spent some time together in Vegas, been talking to him
- 6:50for a long time, and I didn't know him prior to real estate media.
- 6:54His story is incredible.
- 6:55You all connect with it.
- 6:56He's a real estate photographer as well.
- 6:59He owns a real estate photography company,
- 7:01and we looked at all the AI stuff out there.
- 7:03We've looked at some of them for years and he and I talked.
- 7:08We talked in Vegas, actually.
- 7:10And this thing is now that the work he's put in has been incredible,
- 7:14it's come down the focus.
- 7:15There are some lessons to learn there.
- 7:18We have launched it with our real estate media company.
- 7:20We're sending 50 60 plus jobs a day to it.
- 7:24We just we flip the switch. It went out.
- 7:27So we are processing everything with it and it's been incredible.
- 7:31And I, I, I think it can be incredible for you as well.
- 7:34We're going to talk about some history.
- 7:37Ask him a few questions and
- 7:38then also, you know, maybe what's coming and how to integrate it in this Spiro.
- 7:42But I'm excited to announce Matt Gia onto the podcast today with autoHDR.
- 7:48Matt, welcome to the podcast.
- 7:52I appreciate the kind intro.
- 7:53Thanks for having me on.
- 7:55Yeah, it's been, good, you know, working with you and your entire team.
- 8:00It's really cool having you send all your jobs through auto HDR.
- 8:03Now, when we were first talking, it was kind of just an idea really.
- 8:07And so it's cool to see it come first full circle.
- 8:12For you as well, for my business, I use Spiro as well.
- 8:15So having it fully automated is really like seeing
- 8:18the vision come to life is, you know, very fulfilling for me.
- 8:22So. Yeah. Excited to be here.
- 8:24Yeah, yeah, we and we actually just we have been sending a lot of jobs
- 8:27your way, but literally last night, we sent everything we had.
- 8:32We were finally just done.
- 8:33We had enough problems with one of our editing teams
- 8:36that the quality just wasn't there.
- 8:38And we've we've worked with this team
- 8:40exclusively, extensively to try to fix these problems.
- 8:44And it just we were getting worse and worse images.
- 8:47And then another one of our editing teams,
- 8:48one of the individuals, had some health problems.
- 8:51And so we are able to relieve them or relieve them of the jobs.
- 8:54You know, because I think we should send over 56 job. So,
- 8:57you know, sending a team that many jobs is is a big responsibility for them.
- 9:01So it was relief for them.
- 9:03And it was just like popcorn.
- 9:04I sitting at home last night like refreshing the screen, seeing,
- 9:07you know, the listings pages, those images came in and it was really cool to see.
- 9:12So, we'll get to maybe some more of the inner workings.
- 9:15But Matt, I love your story.
- 9:17I think our listeners will love your story.
- 9:20I love the pivot you took.
- 9:23You mind just giving
- 9:24us idea, you know, maybe what got you into real estate?
- 9:27Maybe give a little bit about your background,
- 9:28because I think that's important. So your schooling background.
- 9:31But then why did you pivot in the real estate photography and then you pivoted
- 9:35into this adjacent market with, with AI editing?
- 9:39Can you just maybe give us your story?
- 9:42Absolutely.
- 9:42So I always loved making videos.
- 9:47Really?
- 9:47And you probably don't know this, but in high school, I was,
- 9:50competing in freestyle trampoline, so I would travel around.
- 9:54No kidding.
- 9:55That's cool.
- 9:55I was doing I was doing freestyle trampoline.
- 9:57It's this weird niche sport, but I made videos,
- 10:02you know, like compilations of, you know, doing tricks and whatnot.
- 10:06When I was very young and I got into video, in photography, in video editing.
- 10:11Right.
- 10:12So even for that,
- 10:12I was doing speed ramping and all the stuff we do in real estate.
- 10:15So I, you know, I was working in a morning field, like in Anchorage in high school,
- 10:20like, you know, hauling up anchors and working this out job.
- 10:25And I think, like everyone else who gets into real estate photography, I was like,
- 10:28how can I work for myself?
- 10:30And so my one skill at the time was shooting and editing video.
- 10:36And so I'm, you know, I happened to be from this little island called Nantucket,
- 10:40where there's some nice, luxurious houses,
- 10:43and we have a family friend who's a broker,
- 10:46and he's like, hey, you should shoot one of one of my new listings.
- 10:49I'm like, okay, I don't know what that means, but I'll do it.
- 10:53And then I did it.
- 10:54I made the worst video ever, but I made 150 bucks,
- 10:57which was, you know, at the time, like ten hours of work.
- 11:01So I was psyche.
- 11:02And then I started emailing every agent, trying to do video.
- 11:06And then, because I'm from an island, no one had set up shop as a real estate
- 11:10media company there.
- 11:12And so HDR photos didn't even exist
- 11:15on Nantucket five years ago, which is a very luxury market.
- 11:18So wow, I learned how to shoot photo as well.
- 11:21Shooting the photos, editing the photos.
- 11:23You know, staying up to like two, three doing doing that thing
- 11:26when you first get into it,
- 11:27you know, managing the emails, trying to grow and be doing everything
- 11:31until I kind of started offering like a full service real estate, media business.
- 11:37So drone floor plan, the whole thing.
- 11:40And then so that was when I was around like 17, 18. Wow.
- 11:45And then I was going to college.
- 11:48So freshman year when I was going to college, I couldn't shoot.
- 11:52And so I had to figure out how can I, like, remove myself from the business
- 11:57where I consider not going to college and just shooting
- 12:01real estate full time, because that initial earning potential
- 12:05is attractive compared to what you're making in college.
- 12:08But I was like, okay, over time, you know, I don't want to limit myself. So
- 12:13I basically was forced to have to replace myself.
- 12:16And so actually, my high school
- 12:18photography teacher ended up being like our first shooter.
- 12:21And so when I went to college, she would shoot like after school,
- 12:25and I kind of trained her up on video and all that stuff.
- 12:28And I learned to outsource editing
- 12:31and yeah, you know, started listening to people like you and Eli talk about,
- 12:37yeah, you can have someone as well, like, I, I got a virtual assistant
- 12:40managing the email and I started building my systems and I got on Spiro,
- 12:47automated booking.
- 12:48And at that point it actually became a business
- 12:50where throughout college I, you know, had people shooting,
- 12:54had my time back and could just focus on growing it where I wanted to grow it.
- 12:59And then
- 13:00during college, I was studying machine learning and programing.
- 13:04And so afterwards I basically had
- 13:07to, you know, I was graduating, so graduating last May.
- 13:11So around a year ago.
- 13:13And it was a really big question for me,
- 13:16you know, do I want to go and do this full time?
- 13:20Because whatever I do, honestly, I'm just very like obsessive about it's
- 13:24all I think about and I just want to think about it and work on it all the time.
- 13:28And so I'm like, do I want real estate media to be my big thing that I do
- 13:33for the rest of my life or what I what do I want to focus on?
- 13:38I had this idea about
- 13:40AI photo editing.
- 13:42I knew that with some effort, I could probably achieve it
- 13:45if it's all that I wanted to do.
- 13:46But it really was a choice between those two things.
- 13:49And so ultimately, I decided that I wanted to put all my effort
- 13:54into trying to solve photo editing, whether or not it would work.
- 13:58And so,
- 13:59you know, one of my friends
- 14:00from college I hired to run the real estate media business,
- 14:05I said, I am moving across the country
- 14:08and I am not going to check my email or text or anything after this date.
- 14:13You know, Daniel runs a business, he's doing a great job.
- 14:15But when someone has never run a business like that, there's a learning curve.
- 14:19And I was like, I'm willing to sacrifice
- 14:22lack of growth or even really that business
- 14:24going under worst case so that I can pursue this.
- 14:27And so that's what I did.
- 14:28That was about in,
- 14:30really, you know, full time in, in August.
- 14:33And so, yeah, here we are now with, auto HDR live.
- 14:37Yeah,
- 14:38that honestly, Craig, that blows my mind.
- 14:41Like, it really blows my mind.
- 14:43The amount of just the speed you took.
- 14:46And I think the thing that I think about as I think about just the focus you had
- 14:51and I think about the book The One Thing by Gary Keller,
- 14:54and if you haven't read it, it's worth reading it.
- 14:56And, and I, I listen to a lot.
- 14:59I don't read a lot. I'm an auditory learner.
- 15:01I know you can get the audio books, but it's worth reading it.
- 15:04That's a book I read.
- 15:05I've read multiple times, and if you are owning a business, you probably are.
- 15:10If you're listening to this or you're thinking
- 15:12about owning your own business or real estate media business,
- 15:17a lack of focus will
- 15:19kill you, your business, the people around you.
- 15:23It will make you unhappy.
- 15:24I and it's it's easy to get into.
- 15:28There's so much distractions in the world.
- 15:30I still find myself that I have to center myself.
- 15:32Like I tell myself, like my wife last night was like, I'm a bit out of focus.
- 15:36Like I'm really my brain is is just spinning right now.
- 15:40And and she's like, okay, well, what are you going to do?
- 15:43I'm like, well, I'm going to go prioritize.
- 15:45I'm going to say no to some things
- 15:47and I'm going to focus on them, and I'm going to work as hard as I can.
- 15:50And when you focus things, it will expand.
- 15:53What you focus on will expand.
- 15:55And I
- 15:56think, Matt, you were smart in the idea that you set a date,
- 16:00and I think I know the answer to this, but why was it important for you
- 16:03to set a date as to where and you said Daniel, who runs your media company,
- 16:08you know why Daniel was in charge is like, hey,
- 16:11whatever happens next, like, I trust Dan.
- 16:14Dan's going to figure it out, but I know I'm going to set a date.
- 16:17Why was that important to you for moving into AI editing?
- 16:22I need to have certainty that I could commit and not have emails
- 16:25and fires from Luxury Vision, my agency, coming to me throughout the day.
- 16:29And so I said, hey, I'm going to devote everything I have to training you.
- 16:33You're going to shadow me all day.
- 16:35I'm going to build all the resources, all the SOPs out.
- 16:38So you have every resource that you need to take over.
- 16:41But after this date,
- 16:42like the understanding is that that's on you to be able to figure out.
- 16:47And of course, like, he'll still text me throughout the day when needed.
- 16:50There's going to be some niche knowledge,
- 16:52but, it's gotten to the point where really, like,
- 16:55he can competently handle everything.
- 16:56And then we call once a week, you know, so to kind of advise,
- 17:01because I have seen the industry and know the niche a bit better.
- 17:06So I still obviously want to help and grow and help him.
- 17:10But back to the topic of one big thing.
- 17:15Focus is so important and so underestimated.
- 17:18I couldn't agree more.
- 17:19When we come in every day,
- 17:22you know, all of our and I still code.
- 17:25You know, I programed, you know, up until November or December just myself
- 17:30until we started having the resources to bring on more people.
- 17:34But each of our developers every day has one big thing, nothing else.
- 17:40And I'm like, don't worry about anything else.
- 17:44Literally.
- 17:44Just try to do this one thing, because if you do this
- 17:47one thing, it's the highest priority thing to make the product better.
- 17:51It will certainly move us forward instead of getting scattered
- 17:54across a bunch of stuff.
- 17:55So it's like literally every day you just have to check that box.
- 17:59And then if you didn't the next day, like make sure you do it, because then we know
- 18:03with certainty the highest priority things are getting knocked out
- 18:07and the like definitively the product will get better.
- 18:10So couldn't agree more. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:13Our brains like to tell us though, Matt, that the kind of minutia that comes in
- 18:17or the noise that comes in is important to do now,
- 18:21or checking social media or checking this channel, or did I get an email?
- 18:26Or this client who does two jobs with me a year needs something like no,
- 18:31forget about that client that get them within expectations, you know?
- 18:36But you don't need to drop everything.
- 18:38If you drop everything right now to reply to that client, that is nothing to you.
- 18:43That does two jobs a year with you to say that say no
- 18:47to whatever your biggest gap is right now to hit your goals.
- 18:51And and it is.
- 18:53It's easy in our
- 18:54brains, like I understand a lot of your all brains out there.
- 18:58It's easy to get it in there and you get fixated on it.
- 19:00I do the same thing.
- 19:01I get fixated on these ideas and I think same that same thing for you Matt.
- 19:06Like you had to set that boundary because you knew if Luxury Vision
- 19:10your Rep company, if a question came in,
- 19:12your brain would process it even subconsciously.
- 19:16And that means you're taking away from your big goal,
- 19:18your next big goal, which is to get autoHDR off the ground,
- 19:22to get the product to where it needs to be and to get it launched.
- 19:26Even now, right, I have big clients
- 19:29that I want to land and have all of their editing on auto HDR, right?
- 19:33And so if they have issues throughout the day, that's still a thing.
- 19:37Just like a client who needs their visions on their video.
- 19:39Like that's something that kind of I need to support on throughout the day.
- 19:44And so
- 19:46it's a
- 19:46question of what fires should you at burn,
- 19:50because it's going to let you to focus on the things that matter.
- 19:53Right?
- 19:53Like taking an hour to help out someone who is going to do just a few jobs
- 19:58with you, versus
- 19:59using that hour to build out a feature that hundreds of people are asking for.
- 20:03Well, that's probably a trade off.
- 20:04We should go to the higher leverage thing.
- 20:07And then, yeah, sometimes you have to do things that don't scale,
- 20:11but hopefully you can have systems as much as possible
- 20:13like customer support, VA, etc., to handle that stuff.
- 20:17So yeah.
- 20:19Yeah, it's and it's never easy to say no to a client I get it.
- 20:24There's been clients over the years at Wow and there's been clients at Spiro
- 20:28that we've had to tell.
- 20:29Sorry, but we've communicated it clearly and we've
- 20:33said, hey, we just don't know that we're the best fit for you.
- 20:37We want you.
- 20:38We understand that the last time we did it, the last few
- 20:41shoots, you've been unhappy with X, Y, and Z,
- 20:44and we don't know if we're the best fit because we don't want you to be unhappy.
- 20:48At that point.
- 20:49The clients can say, oh no, I'm really not that unhappy.
- 20:51I'll quit complaining and I'll use you or no, you're right.
- 20:54And then I say, hey, can I
- 20:55can I refer you to someone that we that we trust in your area?
- 21:00Yeah. And then.
- 21:00And then you go grow the bigger pumpkin.
- 21:03So to say that we talk about on here a lot.
- 21:05So you know focus is an incredible thing.
- 21:10Switching gears a bit, a bit,
- 21:11Matt, kind of a hard turn here and
- 21:15and I don't know the answer to this, but I, I've looked at AI editing for years.
- 21:19I probably about three years ago is when people started contact to me
- 21:23and I've seen it hit the market. We've looked at it.
- 21:26How did you do it so quickly?
- 21:28And you don't have to.
- 21:28I mean, I'm not asking for the secret sauce, but it still amazes me.
- 21:32How did you frickin do it so quick?
- 21:34Like, it looks incredible.
- 21:36It's five times better than anything else out there.
- 21:38It's better than the editing that we sent out.
- 21:40Like, I look at our pictures
- 21:42and I told we have an all hands meeting with the team at Wow on Friday.
- 21:46And I told them, like I looked at the pictures coming in last night, I'm like,
- 21:49these are not our pictures.
- 21:51In a very good way.
- 21:53Like with a smile on my face saying, hey, we got rid of that crap, that
- 21:57that gunky crap that we used to have with our HDR image
- 22:00is the windows are clear, the colors are crisp.
- 22:02It's the way we want them to look. Just,
- 22:05I mean,
- 22:07I mean, you can give us away as much secret sauce as you want.
- 22:09You don't have to any. But just how did you.
- 22:12It almost seems like too good to be true.
- 22:14What?
- 22:14What am I missing here?
- 22:16Just obsession with it, honestly.
- 22:18because I've tried every possible.
- 22:23I mean, I can just tell you, I worked and have worked
- 22:26since we started talking about this in June.
- 22:30Seven days a week on it all day, just fully devoted to it.
- 22:34And it's been a million different approaches, a million different
- 22:38experiments, trying absolutely everything and figuring out,
- 22:41I mean, you see, like if you use, you know,
- 22:45ChatGPT image models or you see any of the AI image
- 22:49generation stuff, you look at it and you're like, okay,
- 22:53it can put like me in a virtual background in Star Wars in like half a second.
- 22:59There's no way it can't just edit a real estate photo.
- 23:01That seems pretty easy. Good point.
- 23:04Right.
- 23:05And so that was kind of my assumption as well.
- 23:09Of course it's not that simple because those models hallucinate
- 23:12a lot and whatever, but I kind of figured I could just figure it out.
- 23:16I guess a lot of people also say, like, if you knew how hard it was going to be,
- 23:19you probably wouldn't start trying to do it.
- 23:22But I mean, it was just
- 23:25yeah, that that is it.
- 23:27Just trying over and over repeatedly and
- 23:31assuming that,
- 23:33you know, assuming that someone else has already done it and that it is possible,
- 23:37a lot of the times gives you the mental like ability to think that you can.
- 23:42So maybe in this space it hadn't been, but I just tried to imagine
- 23:46that, like it is and you just need to find the right path to it.
- 23:50So I guess
- 23:52maybe that's not the most clear answer, but no, I basically just said
- 23:55I'm not going to stop trying until I until I get it.
- 23:58And I don't know, like
- 24:00I think when maybe if there's other people who work on it,
- 24:03you know, they have their businesses or other experiments they're trying
- 24:06and they work on it 20 hours a week over the course of four years,
- 24:11and I can do it 80 to 100 hours a week over eight months.
- 24:14Then, you know, maybe I can get the same amount of stuff done in that timeframe.
- 24:19Yeah.
- 24:19You know, I, I agree 100%.
- 24:21I think another thing is, is just,
- 24:24you understand the industry because you,
- 24:28you were your client to begin with, like you understood
- 24:32a lot of times we get people that come in to spear
- 24:34and they go like, how did you know to do that?
- 24:36And I'm like, well, because I, I've screwed that up before.
- 24:39So I, I've, I don't want to screw that up.
- 24:42We've done that.
- 24:42So I think that helps as well.
- 24:44Just even if it's subconsciously, you know, everyone, every other company
- 24:48that I've talked to
- 24:48and I there was one company that I really I really like the guy.
- 24:52He's a really nice. I've talked to him for years.
- 24:54I really like him.
- 24:54I see at conferences I know about, you know, I, I know him a little bit
- 24:59more on a personal level, but it's just like, I don't know that he that
- 25:02the other companies truly understand what we need as real estate photographers.
- 25:07And I don't know,
- 25:08just because you were behind the camera if that correlates or not.
- 25:12I mean, that's that's a great point, right? Like
- 25:16when you're trying to train
- 25:18a model, you're looking at the output and saying, is this good enough?
- 25:21Are we getting somewhere?
- 25:23And I guess for me,
- 25:24since I had been doing real estate photography for 4 or 5 years,
- 25:28self critiquing in Q
- 25:31QC oversee editing teams I knew and had a taste for.
- 25:36And granted, I'm in a very luxury market.
- 25:39Yeah. So our photos have to be pretty pristine.
- 25:41And so I knew, like the most important thing to me
- 25:45is intricate window masking, perfect white balance,
- 25:48bright photos, no color casts,
- 25:52proper perspective correction.
- 25:54So I guess those 4 or 5 years of just having the reps
- 25:59of looking at and seeing photos
- 26:01probably subconsciously embedded in me, like when I'm looking at what
- 26:06what kind of quality do we need from this model?
- 26:09I had a very good understanding of when I was going down a bad path.
- 26:14I guess that's a it's a good point because, you know,
- 26:17other kind of competitors are doing AI photo editing,
- 26:21but for them, window pose is kind of seems like an after an afterthought.
- 26:27For me, that was like, this is the most important thing
- 26:30because this is the number one thing
- 26:31that I've looked at over my business for the last five years.
- 26:33This is absolutely imperative.
- 26:35So I guess in some sense it did kind of help
- 26:38guide where we need the the quality to be.
- 26:41And that's in terms of quality.
- 26:43And then I guess as well, just like you building out Spiro.
- 26:46Right. Spiro
- 26:48For me
- 26:48in my business, like a perfect product, it's killed every pain point and automated
- 26:52from start to finish the process, from booking to literally to invoice
- 26:58and even counting the hours and paying out our photographers.
- 27:02And so you got that.
- 27:04And so from a workflow perspective, we're also trying to do that with autoHDR.
- 27:09I've used some of the competing platforms
- 27:12and you know, it's 20 or 30 steps just to try and upload the photos.
- 27:17We've made it very simple, where if you go to autohdr.com, it's a big upload box.
- 27:23You don't even need to be signed in.
- 27:24You just drag and drop your shoot or pick them from Dropbox and you're good,
- 27:29whether it's aerials or handheld or whatever.
- 27:32That's it.
- 27:32So from that perspective as well, I'm thinking about
- 27:36if I were shooting, how would I want this experience to be?
- 27:39Yeah, yeah.
- 27:41No, I think that's key.
- 27:42So Matt, I'm going to jump in.
- 27:44It's this is kind of embarrassing.
- 27:46I feel like the old guy in the room that, Well, I am the old guy in the room.
- 27:51But but the old guy in the room
- 27:53that is very, skeptical.
- 27:56Very cynical or, suspicious of anything new.
- 28:02Right.
- 28:03I, I will admit to you, for the very first time last night, I used ChatGPT.
- 28:08I, I've never used it.
- 28:10And it was one of those dumb things.
- 28:11I've seen a lot of realtors putting up Barbie boxes of themselves with all their.
- 28:15Oh, you know.
- 28:16Right.
- 28:17Well, one of my clients did a Lego version because he's like, I'm not into Barbie.
- 28:22And I kind of chuckled at that.
- 28:24And so I messaged I remember like, Tom, how
- 28:25how did you create that just was it an AI app or something?
- 28:29He's like, yeah, it was ChatGPT.
- 28:30And you know, I got the the prompt to generate
- 28:34the image from another realtor and just change things.
- 28:37So I did that just as, on a whim.
- 28:42I've, I've been a little hesitant
- 28:45to really dive into I, I just I'll admit I'm that guy.
- 28:50But I know how everybody is just
- 28:52swearing up one side and down the other of how beneficial this this is.
- 28:56So for the the real estate photography business owner that is maybe like me
- 29:01where they've been a little hesitant and they haven't dived into this,
- 29:05and they're just a little suspicious or just doesn't understand
- 29:10how is has can AI really impact my business?
- 29:14Can you give a brief, basic,
- 29:18you know,
- 29:19how to, dump what what's what's that book?
- 29:23Dummies?
- 29:26AI for dummies. Yeah, yeah.
- 29:27AI for dummies. Yeah. Duh. Let's see.
- 29:29I'm encapsulating this wonderfully.
- 29:31Can you give us an AI for dummies in this real estate media space of what is it?
- 29:37How does it work?
- 29:39And what's the impact it has on your business.
- 29:42Absolutely.
- 29:43So yeah, autoHDR aside, you know, we're all
- 29:48all the AI work that we do is related to an image.
- 29:50And so it's completely different than how ChatGPT works.
- 29:54ChatGPT is basically really good at predicting the next word.
- 30:00That is essentially what it does.
- 30:02And so you you feed in words and it outputs the most likely next word,
- 30:09based on all of the words that it's ever seen,
- 30:12from it's training data across social media, the entire internet, it's
- 30:16a big simplification, but it's essentially how it works and it's really good.
- 30:21And so we actually at my business
- 30:25Luxury Vision, we use AI for everything.
- 30:28We are trying to make full use of it.
- 30:30So I'll give you a few different examples.
- 30:34One is writing an SOP.
- 30:37You can go to ChatGPT.
- 30:39You can even just record your voice and say, hey, this is what,
- 30:45this is what this person is responsible for doing.
- 30:48Here are the kind of things that might come up throughout the day.
- 30:52Draft out and SOP, for my business in this niche that they should follow.
- 30:57And it'll save you all the time.
- 30:59It'll just spit it out, you know, in 30s or less,
- 31:03and it'll save you the hours of drafting that.
- 31:04And then you can reread it and say, hey, actually tweak this, tweak that,
- 31:09you know, you've just saved yourself hours.
- 31:11It could be that it could be a job post,
- 31:14script writing.
- 31:15Right?
- 31:15If you have an agent on camera filming a social media reel, you can generate
- 31:21ten viral hooks instead of sitting and brainstorming them yourself.
- 31:25You can even feed in hooks that you like from videos that you like
- 31:29and say, hey, generate similar ones.
- 31:32You can take the description that they're listing.
- 31:36You can copy that property description, you can paste it and say, hey,
- 31:40generate a 20 to 30 second script for a property like this.
- 31:45You know, there's a million things like that.
- 31:47That just saves so much time that can just be automated.
- 31:51Right?
- 31:51Everything in your business that's mundane can be automated at this point.
- 31:57Yeah.
- 31:58So those are a few basics.
- 31:59There's a lot more that we do.
- 32:01But, generally that's how it works.
- 32:04So is that the same way with with images.
- 32:06So it's just predicting the next pixel that's beside it, or does
- 32:10it look at as a whole or.
- 32:12Yeah, there's
- 32:13there's a few different ways in it depends on the kind of model that you're using.
- 32:18Okay.
- 32:18So there's a class of models that are really popular.
- 32:22So you're talking about like you know,
- 32:23generating a Barbie kind of background, right.
- 32:28So what's going to happen in that case
- 32:30is it's called diffusion.
- 32:33And basically it's just going to run
- 32:37denoising on the image where to pretend that,
- 32:41you know, you had your original image and then you put a ton of noise over it.
- 32:45And the model is tasked with getting rid of that noise
- 32:48and uncovering what that image should look like given the prompt that you gave it.
- 32:53So it's trying to predict, you know, what that might look like,
- 32:56if it's guessing what those pixels look like.
- 32:59And that sounds crazy.
- 33:01But when you have a model that's trained on millions of images
- 33:04that knows what Barbie is because it's basically
- 33:07trained on image of Barbie and then prompt Barbie,
- 33:11then when it's trying to predict what those pixels are, it's just seen it
- 33:14so many times, it has so many reps with that that it can guess.
- 33:18Now that's crazy. Yeah.
- 33:21But it'll also hallucinate crazy stuff, which we can't have in real estate
- 33:26photo editing, which is what makes it such a uniquely challenging problem, is
- 33:31you can't leverage any of the open source or openly available to the public.
- 33:37Models like ChatGPT that does such a great job generating new things.
- 33:42It's so impressive.
- 33:44But all that stuff is not real.
- 33:46And when you're editing a photo, it needs to look exactly like the house.
- 33:51Just better.
- 33:51But nothing that's not there, which presents a pretty hard problem.
- 33:56intresting
- 33:58let me ask then, kind of a,
- 34:01I'll play devil's advocate
- 34:03is the model to the point where it doesn't make any mistakes.
- 34:06Or if a mistake slips through someone's photo
- 34:10that they've submitted for autoHDR to to to edit, is there a process to,
- 34:15to correct that if, if the model happens to hallucinate something?
- 34:20That's a great question.
- 34:21So, if you get a photo from us, a photo like blue sky, no clouds.
- 34:27There is zero hallucinations, right?
- 34:30Like based on the training process and the training data, we have it.
- 34:34There will be zero things that don't exist in reality there.
- 34:38Now, when you start getting to post-processing
- 34:41steps like if you want clouds generated,
- 34:44then you're going to start running into, yeah, we are generating, you know,
- 34:47we're not like an editing team copy pasting skies with the same daytime sky.
- 34:53We are generating clouds to try and match
- 34:56the vibe of that photo and that angle in the same theme.
- 34:59So they all look like the same day.
- 35:01But when you're generating things, that's when you can start to get things that are
- 35:05not there in reality.
- 35:07Now, of course, in autoHDR you can always toggle off
- 35:09and remove the clouds and you're back to square one.
- 35:12Same thing though, you know, if we are automatically
- 35:16detecting and removing cameras, well, something's got to go
- 35:20where that camera was like a general kind of thing.
- 35:24So it has to be invented.
- 35:27It has to be something that wasn't there.
- 35:29So we will do our best to do that, but will always also provide the optionality
- 35:32to say, okay, toggle that off.
- 35:35It puts something there that does not look convincing.
- 35:38Put it back to how it was.
- 35:39That's the core output okay.
- 35:41So there are tweaks that the end user can can input to correct.
- 35:45Yeah.
- 35:46And so the so say that that same idea Matt
- 35:50where the image comes back and
- 35:54we see that there's something that's not expected.
- 35:59It's not that the model I mean the model never screws up
- 36:02because it just does what it knows.
- 36:03I mean, that's kind of the same within a normal algorithm.
- 36:07It's just doing what it knows.
- 36:11Is there any, I guess it going to do it every time or how are you guys combating
- 36:15that is it's learning is what is learning mean like it's it's getting better.
- 36:19I know that.
- 36:21And it's only going to get better
- 36:23I guess it's another question.
- 36:25And Craig, we're in the same era of age.
- 36:28So I, us me as my old man.
- 36:31Question is like how does it learn?
- 36:33I just I guess I just don't get that.
- 36:36Yeah, it's a good question.
- 36:38A lot of people think that every time they upload
- 36:41photos to the platform, it's learning.
- 36:44But the more that's a misconception because we don't just need the raw photo,
- 36:49we need a final edited photo to be able to learn.
- 36:53Right?
- 36:53Because just learning, just getting a raw photo doesn't really teach us anything.
- 36:59A perfect
- 37:00human edited photo is what can teach the model.
- 37:04Here's what a perfect edited photo looks like.
- 37:06Okay, so it's not okay. It's learning.
- 37:08Whenever we accumulate, you know, all of our data sets are proprietary.
- 37:13We accumulate them.
- 37:15We hire the apps, I screen, 200 photo editing teams
- 37:19all with the same set of photos and found the absolute best of the best.
- 37:24We build our training set off of that,
- 37:27and it's a massive set of, of photos that are edited
- 37:32andQC by our QC team at Luxury Vision
- 37:36to be the best of the best, and it's trained on those.
- 37:40So basically it gets better every time we get more data.
- 37:44And then we rerun a training training run.
- 37:47But not every time that raws are uploaded to the platform.
- 37:50Yeah, okay.
- 37:52That makes sense.
- 37:52It it needs to know that there was a problem, but it needs to know what the.
- 37:56So it needs to know what the solution was.
- 37:59Okay, that makes sense then. Yeah.
- 38:01Yeah.
- 38:02Basically when you have a model
- 38:05training in
- 38:06machine learning, you see the prediction from the model,
- 38:10which is the photo that it generated.
- 38:12And then you give it the actual photo that the human edited and you say,
- 38:16oh, you were off by this much.
- 38:18Adjust your parameters, your weights, your knowledge, basically, of how to edit
- 38:22a photo by that amount to next time, get a better prediction, get closer.
- 38:27That's what training is, is iteratively doing that process.
- 38:31That's crazy.
- 38:32That is cool.
- 38:33That is cool.
- 38:35Well, I mean, it's it's
- 38:36like I said, we all we've used it.
- 38:40We're using it with every job now. Wow.
- 38:42So I'm excited about that.
- 38:43Maybe let's take a quick pivot and just,
- 38:46how how much can we simplify this?
- 38:49Can we just talk about what the workflow is.
- 38:51And I'm happy to try it.
- 38:52I know you're using the workflow, but if someone and if you want to see this
- 38:56by the way, head over to autoHDR.com
- 39:01You can drag and drop photos right there and you can see the results
- 39:05if you want free credits.
- 39:07If you add /Spiro onto that, we'll link that below.
- 39:11You'll get 30 free credits.
- 39:13Also, just so you guys know, I want to be transparent.
- 39:16I get a little kickback with that.
- 39:18If you don't like me, just take /Spiro off of there and just use auto HDR.
- 39:22It's fine. I'm not offended.
- 39:24And also one more thing to clarify is
- 39:26I don't have any ownership, I’ve been asked this. I don't have any ownership in autoHDR.
- 39:31We, our real estate media company, pays to use autoHDR.
- 39:36So Matt, I, Matt owns
- 39:38and so I'm not in the ownership group of autoHDR.
- 39:42I actually wanted I asked if I could buy in
- 39:45because I love it so much because I believe in it.
- 39:47And there they're not looking for I want to not to go any deeper, but
- 39:53Matt's got a great thing going, so we're excited.
- 39:55We're excited to push it anyways.
- 39:57I like to invest in things we use, but I'm connected because, our company uses it
- 40:01and we're invested in and we're investing time in it and we're seeing the results.
- 40:05So I have no ownership.
- 40:06Just to be transparent.
- 40:07I do get a kickback if you use that link.
- 40:10So let's fast forward there.
- 40:12And I probably use way too many words to say that.
- 40:14So sorry y'all, but you know me. Hey Todd,
- 40:18there's AI that could
- 40:19probably help you summarize those thoughts a little bit.
- 40:22Craig. And you, can you do that?
- 40:24Yes, please.
- 40:25Somebody AI help me or somebody give me some help there.
- 40:29Coffee's a bad thing now, but okay, so let's say you've done that
- 40:33and you're like, yeah, I think these results are good.
- 40:36And I guess let me take one more tangent and I'll take 30s here.
- 40:40If you this is what you're probably going to do.
- 40:43You're going to take raw images from today or yesterday or from some time.
- 40:48You're going to find a big house.
- 40:50You're going to drag and drop them into auto HDR.
- 40:53You're going to wait about 30 minutes.
- 40:54You're going to get an email that says, here is everything.
- 40:57And by the way, you don't have to pay for that.
- 40:59You're going to log in autoHDR.
- 41:01You'll go to your listings and it will be there so you can view them
- 41:05without paying for them, which is fabulous.
- 41:07So there's there's no risk to you.
- 41:11You're going to do a screen by screen.
- 41:12You're going to put your editor on the left side and autoHDR on the right side,
- 41:17and you're going to click through image
- 41:191 to 3 and you're going to look at each one, okay.
- 41:23And then what you're going to do
- 41:24is you're going to get a little closer to the screen,
- 41:27and then you're going to get a magnifying glass out, you're going to zoom in,
- 41:31and then you're going to start looking at each pixel.
- 41:34And I want to please tell you
- 41:36don't even go to step two.
- 41:39If you sit back in your chair and you have them side by side
- 41:44and you're flipping through and you're like, yeah, this is like,
- 41:46this is like the same thing or better, please don't go any further.
- 41:50Your left brain will tell you
- 41:51that you need to find some little thing that's different.
- 41:55And I can tell you that you will always find differences good and bad.
- 41:59We have found differences and photo editors for the last 21 years.
- 42:04Okay, this is just a new tool for you.
- 42:06Please don't obsess over the output.
- 42:08The output is fabulous.
- 42:10I want use it on 60, 80, 90 jobs a day at Wow.
- 42:14Okay, so I just want I know you're going to say no, but my market's different.
- 42:19I would like to
- 42:21politely
- 42:22disagree that there's bigger things to focus on.
- 42:26Again, the focus is how can you move your business along
- 42:31and not how can I make my photos 5 10% better?
- 42:34No. The bigger idea is that you got him back
- 42:36in 30 minutes, that you've streamlined it, that every day of the week it works.
- 42:40That you never have an editor that calls off.
- 42:42You never have an editor that doesn't understand what you want.
- 42:45You ultimately control same day turnaround, anything that you want to do.
- 42:49You have this new tool that you can leverage.
- 42:52So I'm sorry, that's my piece.
- 42:53I've heard it a lot where I've seen you guys and I appreciate it.
- 42:56I've been there, done that.
- 42:58You as a business owner owe it to yourself to compare and say, can I use this?
- 43:03I would say, please just load them and send them to your clients
- 43:06and get feedback.
- 43:07If your client has something to say, they always will.
- 43:10They did about your human. They did about your editors. Right now.
- 43:13Just show them how good you are
- 43:15at flexing your muscle of customer service and fixing something for them.
- 43:19And I think quality
- 43:21is extremely important and that's why we hyper focus on it every day.
- 43:26But if you're a real estate photographer in 2025,
- 43:29it's an incredibly competitive, almost commoditized market.
- 43:33And you have to decide if you are trying to be an artist or a business owner.
- 43:38Yeah.
- 43:38And automate and systemize your business or obsess over every detail.
- 43:45And just like an editor, you know, there can always be a paint color
- 43:49that's wrong and that your client is going to disagree with.
- 43:53But ultimately you have to decide, do I want to be able to automate this?
- 43:57Have photos back in 30 minutes at 30 to 50% lower costs?
- 44:02Or am I going to take this hands on approach that I've been doing right?
- 44:07And so we're seeing a lot of businesses who have been doing this for a decade
- 44:12plus in their local market,
- 44:15who are finally able to get a competitive edge because they've
- 44:18they've maxed out every lever of growth and automation at this point.
- 44:22They've negotiated their human editing team down to the lowest price
- 44:26per photo that that team can profitably do.
- 44:30They've systemize as much as they possibly can,
- 44:33but there's no more lever that they can pull except for price.
- 44:36And that's not good for anyone.
- 44:39And so the there's finally a new breakthrough for these big businesses.
- 44:45And I'll tell you, this workflow that I'm seeing, which is kind of a game changer.
- 44:49And it's allowing these photography
- 44:50businesses to deliver within one hour of shooting.
- 44:55So this is crazy.
- 44:57There are teams that do
- 44:5930, 40 shoots a day with us that shoot the photos.
- 45:02They shoot them in Jpeg and onsite.
- 45:05They have this little SD card adapter.
- 45:07They plug it into their phone and they upload the photos
- 45:11as they're leaving the shoot, going to the next appointment.
- 45:14By the time they're at the next appointment.
- 45:17Those photos are done and edited by auto HDR.
- 45:21Ready to go.
- 45:22Their QC team is looking over the photos,
- 45:25making any adjustments, requesting the virtual Twilight,
- 45:29doing an item, removal whatever's needed and then sending it out an hour later.
- 45:33And so now these companies can take more market share, differentiate more
- 45:37because it's literally impossible for any of their competitors
- 45:40to even come close because they're relying on a human team. So
- 45:45it's just
- 45:46a good way if you want to be able to get ahead, to start to have another
- 45:49level in your business, as well as teams really doing it at scale like that.
- 45:54There are some businesses that we've saved
- 45:57that this year are going to save over $100,000 in editing,
- 46:02because they've gotten down now to $0.40 a photo,
- 46:05some teams as low as $0.36 at the very lowest here.
- 46:08And so that also is giving them profit that they can reinvest
- 46:12back into their business for business development growth
- 46:16or, you know, just put back in their pocket.
- 46:19Yeah. Yeah I love that Matt.
- 46:22Let's let's talk through.
- 46:24So let's
- 46:26say it I mean, I love the idea of putting that adapter in and getting them
- 46:30uploaded to the, to the, to you guys right away and then coming back.
- 46:34Let's say that someone's going to stick with the delivery they're with right now.
- 46:38Just hey we're going to do next day next business or next day.
- 46:42And they're going to upload
- 46:43when they get back to their computer.
- 46:47What is the flow look like for that?
- 46:49And let's assume that they're a Spiro user.
- 46:52How will all of that work?
- 46:55Yeah.
- 46:56So if you're a Spiro user,
- 46:59you actually don't need to change anything.
- 47:02That's what you know, we've worked hard.
- 47:05You know, you and I and William in our development
- 47:07team have worked hard to achieve is that you really just need to toggle
- 47:12on a switch in your integrations page in Spiro,
- 47:15and then assign the services that you want autoHDR to edit.
- 47:18Because,
- 47:20you know, I'll describe what it looked like for my business
- 47:23before autoHDR,
- 47:25and this is actually why we jumped on Spiro
- 47:28is because you made this automation where the second to that a photographer
- 47:33hit done on site, it created the folder and notified the editor.
- 47:38Hey, here's the raw photos folder.
- 47:39Here's the final photos folder.
- 47:41It auto imports the edited images to the listing gallery.
- 47:44That's automated, right?
- 47:45It saves you all the back and forth,
- 47:47telling the editor it's ready to go, importing it, downloading it all that.
- 47:51But we've basically just replaced the editor step with autoHDR.
- 47:54So you if you're shooting or your photographers
- 47:58that are shooting for you, they had done and their photographer portal,
- 48:02that folder gets spun up in Dropbox just like before.
- 48:05Same naming and everything.
- 48:07And you just upload.
- 48:09And at that point, Spiro, if you've connected through the integration,
- 48:12they hand off those photos to us.
- 48:14We do our thing and we edit them.
- 48:17We send them back and they will land in your listing page in Spiro.
- 48:21But they'll also still go to the autoHDR listing page so you can monitor,
- 48:26there's like little progress bar, like a pizza delivery tracker.
- 48:29And so you can see, like, where are we at?
- 48:31Are we, you know, aligning the photos?
- 48:34Are we doing window poles? Are we removing cameras?
- 48:36Which step?
- 48:37And then, you can also still do item removal, virtual
- 48:40Twilight, whatever you need in autoHDR.
- 48:43But everything will still be, you know, imported automatically to Spiro.
- 48:47Yeah. Yeah.
- 48:48No, that's that's so that's so cool.
- 48:50And, just as another note, you also have those images in your Dropbox
- 48:54folder as well.
- 48:55So you're going to get those images, you know, if you're using that for backup
- 48:59you're going to get them in every place so that it's convenient for you.
- 49:03And then what we're doing at our company is we're just doing a QC
- 49:07like we've always done our QC teams going through them on the property
- 49:11website, scanning through them if it adjustments needed, if a rearrange
- 49:15or if a deletes needed they're doing that they get to the last image.
- 49:19They save any changes upload anything new if they're changing something
- 49:24and then they deliver.
- 49:25And that is literally all that's the process.
- 49:29You're you're dragging and dropping.
- 49:33All of the maneuvering of the files is done for you.
- 49:36You're looking at the property website and you're clicking deliver.
- 49:38I mean, I think that's pretty cool.
- 49:41And Craig, I think you saw him.
- 49:43Yeah. Fully automated.
- 49:45Craig I think you saw him for the first time.
- 49:46I mean, when you look at that now
- 49:48from the brains of not only a photographer but from business development. Wow.
- 49:52Which, you know, it's important.
- 49:54You gotta love what you sell.
- 49:56And we've given the same image for a lot of years.
- 49:59As you look at these things that are coming off,
- 50:02if you look at these images that we're sending out now,
- 50:05just what your honest gut like, no holds barred.
- 50:07Just honestly, what do you think of them? Yeah.
- 50:10So the first time well, I was looking
- 50:13at some images, that I just shot, two days ago.
- 50:17And I know we're run through autoHDR and the first thing,
- 50:20it popped out at me, just like you said Matt was, was the window pulls.
- 50:25I thought this was our Lux editing,
- 50:27and I'm like, I didn't that they didn't order Lux editing on this.
- 50:32Oh. It's autoHDR.
- 50:35There's a marked marked difference.
- 50:38And yeah, but the colors, the clarity.
- 50:42Matt. It looks fantastic.
- 50:44Now I have run across
- 50:47a couple of things that I sent back to our support team just to double check
- 50:51because there was a few small issues,
- 50:54but it's nothing that a QC team can't fix very quickly.
- 50:59And, you know, it's still relatively young
- 51:03that this whole AI thing and like we've all discussed it,
- 51:07it will continue to learn as it sees what a perfect output is.
- 51:12And it's just going to get better.
- 51:13Todd, I think you said it
- 51:15now in our meeting this morning, that the photos that we that
- 51:18we're looking at this morning, that it's the worst it will ever be,
- 51:22which was an interesting way of putting it.
- 51:24And I thought that's, that's that's pretty cool.
- 51:27That's pretty cool. So it is.
- 51:29Yeah AI photo editing is the worst it will ever be right now.
- 51:34And we do.
- 51:35You know,
- 51:36we don't necessarily send out an email, but we do an update pretty much every day.
- 51:41So whether that's something platform related, quality related,
- 51:45we're always looking at what's the biggest quality bottleneck.
- 51:48And then just trying to get rid of it.
- 51:49And so yeah, right now you should
- 51:52I mean, even if we have 100% grade quality,
- 51:56no issues ever,
- 51:58you're still going to have a QC process and you should write
- 52:01what if your photographer didn't move a trash bin or you know, there's
- 52:04someone sitting in a chair in the living room, you still need to have,
- 52:08a set of eyes on that
- 52:10at least quick before delivery or a cat sitting on the back of the couch,
- 52:14which I did not see when I stamped the anyway.
- 52:17Sorry. Yeah, right.
- 52:19Did that get flagged, Craig, or did you saw that?
- 52:21No, I saw it after the fact. Okay.
- 52:23My heart drops like, oh, crud, I just hit that one off the gallery.
- 52:29But yeah.
- 52:31And then you can use auto remove for that one.
- 52:34But there's always going to be a QC step.
- 52:36And so the things that you have to look out for with AI are
- 52:39just different than what you look out for with the human editing team.
- 52:42So, you know, a weird cloud generation, the human editing team
- 52:46is not going to mess that up.
- 52:48But I might, whereas maybe
- 52:51AI is going to be way more consistent on lighting and coloring and all that,
- 52:55because it's got the same training in weights, in understanding of editing.
- 53:00So a human editing team, though might be inconsistent with that.
- 53:04And so it's just different things.
- 53:05And you know, over time will read that out.
- 53:07Yeah.
- 53:08So I always love the goal of fully automating anything.
- 53:10And if you want to set it up in Spiro, if you want to see where it's at,
- 53:14it's very simple to do.
- 53:15Go to settings then integrations.
- 53:18Click external editors and you have an autoHDR button right there.
- 53:22Click it, follow the prompts,
- 53:25and then all you have to do is check mark the services that need photo editing.
- 53:28We literally create the task for you.
- 53:31You'll be good to go.
- 53:31So we have a knowledge base article guide as well.
- 53:33Just search autoHDR.
- 53:35I did a video and then a step by step.
- 53:37So we want to make it very simple for you to get set up and to streamline
- 53:41all of your photo editing.
- 53:44Matt, just switching a couple,
- 53:46switching gears here again with, yeah, some things that that we saw
- 53:49with our company and some things that you put in that,
- 53:52that we really love and all and other users love as well.
- 53:55But if a, if someone is going to drag
- 53:58and drop some photos a day and say
- 54:01as it from a global standpoint, the whole set maybe isn't as contrasty
- 54:06as they want, or maybe they want them a little bit warmer or cooler or whatever.
- 54:10Some tones may be.
- 54:11Can the system accommodate that?
- 54:14Yeah.
- 54:14So we know that, everyone generally is looking for that standard
- 54:20look, but has a little bit of a style preference,
- 54:23whether that comes to contrast or white balance.
- 54:26Some people like it cooler,
- 54:28some people like a warmer, some people like it just crazy vibrant.
- 54:32Right.
- 54:32And we want to be able to accommodate all of that.
- 54:35And so if you go to auto hdr.com/account,
- 54:38we have a bunch of different style settings.
- 54:40And that includes the white balance, the vibrance, the contrast.
- 54:45And if you slide those that would be saved, permanently.
- 54:48And will apply to all of your shoots going forward.
- 54:51And then on a more granular, granular level, we have, gallery,
- 54:56when you're looking at your photos, it's you, your quality control team.
- 55:01They can do little adjustments and save it right there instead of having to open up
- 55:05Lightroom or Photoshop.
- 55:06And there's also things like Auto Remove, which is our item removal tool,
- 55:11where someone without any Photoshop skills or technical
- 55:14skills can just circle an item and remove it in 20 or 30s
- 55:20as well as auto fill
- 55:22Yeah, that's what I've tried. Both. That's pretty.
- 55:24What can you fill right now?
- 55:25well, you can certainly try and push the limits,
- 55:28but what it can confidently do right now is like fire in the fireplace.
- 55:33Okay. Yeah.
- 55:35A flower bouquet on a counter, something where it's
- 55:39a small and straightforward task.
- 55:43I have tried to push the limits of it and do,
- 55:46like virtual staging, for example, and sometimes it can achieve that.
- 55:50But that's not necessarily what it's meant to do.
- 55:52It's meant for small things, right?
- 55:54You could add an image on a TV screen, it's going to look okay,
- 55:58but really fire in the fireplace, flower bouquet, small staging things.
- 56:02It's it's quite good at and that's what it's designed for.
- 56:05We also have the virtual Twilight button in the gallery.
- 56:09So if you want to do a day to dusk edit, you can click that and
- 56:12it'll start processing.
- 56:13Cool.
- 56:14And if you want to try that, once you see your final images, click on one of them.
- 56:19And in that modal there you will have those options
- 56:23to make those adjustments turn off clouds Matt mentioned that earlier.
- 56:27So all that's in there play with it.
- 56:28And again like I don't want this to come off as a hard sales pitch.
- 56:32I mean we use it at our company.
- 56:33I want I want suggest you guys use something.
- 56:36And again,
- 56:36we've looked at companies for years, but it's not going to cost you anything.
- 56:40Like just go try it.
- 56:41I think it's worth your time to see what the option is out there.
- 56:45we don't want anyone to be charged for outputs they can't use.
- 56:50And so we've employed that you know, we have it.
- 56:53So you only pay for what you download right.
- 56:55If you get back results.
- 56:56And for whatever reason, they weren't grouped right or the sky
- 57:00mask wasn't perfect.
- 57:01Any reason like we don't want you to pay for bad outputs
- 57:04so you don't get charged, you only pay for what you download,
- 57:07and you don't even need credits to upload and see the quality, right?
- 57:11So it is in that sense risk free.
- 57:13We want like we wouldn't, I would not want you to overnight say,
- 57:18hey, I'm done using an editor and I'm replacing it with AI
- 57:22for the sake of your systems and like trying it and making sure
- 57:24the quality is what you need.
- 57:26And so we see these, we see people do like ten, 20 test shoots,
- 57:32and actually go and they'll,
- 57:33they will download it and send it to their agents
- 57:35before fully switching over because you showed the confidence,
- 57:39in the systems to be able to support you before, just like jumping ship overnight.
- 57:44Yeah. Yeah for sure.
- 57:46I think that again connects back to that.
- 57:48You just understand the community because you are a real estate photographer.
- 57:51You know, you went hey you want to do that to your clients.
- 57:53So love that.
- 57:56Right.
- 57:56You know looking looking down the road what's I always love.
- 58:00Like what's the roadmap look like. What are you guys thinking about? What?
- 58:03What might be coming or what is coming?
- 58:05Can you share anything?
- 58:06Yeah, we think about a lot of stuff and if so much cool things we can work on.
- 58:11But like we talked about, focus is so important in our focus is creating images
- 58:17that are as good as the best human editor or better with time.
- 58:21And so we want to offer to real estate photographers
- 58:25absolutely everything revolving around the photo shoot.
- 58:28So we've already done virtual twilights, item removal.
- 58:32You can use autofill to do fire in the fireplace, but something
- 58:35that we're going to introduce with time is automatic fire in the fireplace.
- 58:41So those style settings don't.
- 58:43Those style settings won't stop at brightness vibrance contrast.
- 58:46We're going to introduce a toggle, where if you toggle that on fireplaces
- 58:51will be automatically detected and have fire add to them.
- 58:56Right
- 58:56now we have camera removal that is automated.
- 58:59We're working to get that hit rate higher and higher and higher.
- 59:03As well as another thing that's going to come down the line
- 59:05that's been highly requested is
- 59:09realtors signs and the lawns being automatically detected and replaced.
- 59:13Another thing that's going to be a profile setting.
- 59:15Do you want to scanning for that and removing that.
- 59:19Again like I said, anything that you need, right.
- 59:22Anything that I can think of in my business
- 59:24I've ever been asked for, we're going to provide.
- 59:26So another sneak peek,
- 59:28just like you have that virtual Twilight button in the gallery,
- 59:32you can expect a Green lawn button for your post-processing,
- 59:35where you'll be able to go through images and if it's a dead lawn,
- 59:39hit a button in 30s or less, have it replaced with a beautiful green lawn,
- 59:45and we're not going to have it where you do that one at a time.
- 59:48We're working on it so you can
- 59:49select all of the ones in the gallery that you want, then hit one button
- 59:53and have all of them in parallel edited and get that back in 30s.
- 59:58So that's a little sneak peek, and we'll just keep going from there.
- 1:00:02Yeah.
- 1:00:02That's amazing, I love that.
- 1:00:03And maybe along with some of those things,
- 1:00:07we can you know, I think about
- 1:00:10options on an agent level.
- 1:00:11So does this agent want something different?
- 1:00:15Do they want I know we have some agents that never want fire in the fireplace,
- 1:00:19because when you put fire in the fireplace, you are
- 1:00:24a buyer is assuming that that fire place
- 1:00:28actually can hold fire or does work.
- 1:00:32So I know we have some agents have been burnt by before
- 1:00:34because through inspection it came up that the fireplace, the gas
- 1:00:38fireplace actually doesn't work, but our photos had fire in them.
- 1:00:42So, you know, we have notes on that agent, but maybe we could even build
- 1:00:45some of that in the Spiro mat.
- 1:00:47We're on an agent level, you're saying? Yes, add fire.
- 1:00:50Don't add fire or yes, add
- 1:00:51this image, add this image to TVs or whatever the preferences are.
- 1:00:55But I think that's the further automation as to where like, hey,
- 1:00:58just set it one time, or maybe we let the agents do it.
- 1:01:01I don't know, there's some cool stuff that we could do.
- 1:01:03Yeah.
- 1:01:03When booking like, you could have it.
- 1:01:07This would be pure automation.
- 1:01:08When booking in the add ons, if they add virtual Twilight,
- 1:01:12if they add green lawn replacement fire in the fireplace, that could be
- 1:01:16just extra margin that the real estate photography company is getting.
- 1:01:20And then we'll have we'll know that parameter by default when we go
- 1:01:23to process that shoot and just do it fully automated without you.
- 1:01:27Again, we're trying to eliminate all the back and forth.
- 1:01:30And so that can just be one more step towards that.
- 1:01:33Yeah. Now that's some cool stuff.
- 1:01:36Well Matt, it's been a pleasure to talk today.
- 1:01:39Thank you for the insight. The history.
- 1:01:41If someone has a question again tell us how can they try this system.
- 1:01:45How could they reach out to you?
- 1:01:47If you need anything
- 1:01:49autoHDR.com, drag and drop box, take,
- 1:01:53your most recent shoot, the last few shoots, try it out.
- 1:01:58We recommend for best results, you can upload any raw file
- 1:02:02format fully compatible.
- 1:02:04We see no quality difference with JPEGs.
- 1:02:06And so for sake of speed shoot Jpeg, shoot five bracket two EV.
- 1:02:11So we have the most dynamic range to work with three brackets fine too.
- 1:02:15But that's just our suggestion.
- 1:02:17And just try it out, see what you think and shoot me.
- 1:02:20Any questions at Matt@autoHDR.com
