Transcript
- 0:01Susan Patrick and we're super excited to be hosting this
- 0:05conversation today talking
- 0:07about reinventing your life finding your purpose really living
- 0:12into whatever
- 0:14reality is next right yeah and it feels like I feel like a lot
- 0:19of people a lot of
- 0:19women are in this conversation at this phase of their life you
- 0:24know it's like I
- 0:25want to do something different I want to feel something
- 0:27different I want to
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: experience something different
- 0:29and so want to talk about what that that is and the reinvention
- 0:32of how do you do
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: that from a space of joy,
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: not a space of anxiety or depression,
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: but like from a space of joy and expansion.
- 0:41Yeah,
- 0:41because that's exactly what we are doing right now in this very
- 0:45moment.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, I started small with my hair.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: the same hairstyle for, I don't know, 15 years.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I used to change my hairstyle every year.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: And then,
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: of course,
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: with mind movies and,
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: doing all the videos,
- 1:03I used to do so many videos that I would keep just popping up
- 1:06with different
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: hairstyles.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: So they're like, okay, you need to keep one consistently, which I did.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, you know what, I'm ready for a change now.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: I think people
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I've only ever known you with one hairstyle.
- 1:18And so when you were like,
- 1:19Susan,
- 1:19I'm going to do something different with my hair.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: I remember it was like a jarring feeling for me.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Like what?
- 1:25Like I just,
- 1:26you know,
- 1:27not going to crumble my life,
- 1:28but still I think that it's interesting.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And I think like we as women feel that from our communities where
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Sometimes when we say we're going to make a change,
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: it's not just that we have to deal with it inside of ourselves.
- 1:42It's almost the ripple effect that it has on the people that we
- 1:46care for and that
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: are in our lives.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: And I love your hair.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And also the joy jolt.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: I mean,
- 1:56Susan and I had been talking about this and I had been getting
- 1:59a little divine
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: nudge and I am always looking for other ways that I can serve.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: As you know,
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: with mind movies,
- 2:08I've been teaching manifestation and positive mindset and
- 2:11releasing limiting
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: beliefs for about 18 years now.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And for me, I like to stretch myself.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: And at this time of my life,
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: I'm like,
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I can stretch myself,
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: but I want to do something that's still within my wheelhouse.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So when we started to devise what this was going to be,
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I'm like,
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: okay,
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: what are the things that I'm good at?
- 2:34I'm really good at creating content I'm really good at
- 2:37interviews You're super fun
- 2:40to listen to I love listening to your voice These are the
- 2:44things that I like to do
- 2:45and I don't want to have to worry about all the technicalities
- 2:49of setting up an
- 2:50email thing and building a website which is again why we chose
- 2:55Substack because all
- 2:56of these speeches are already in the platform and so I could
- 3:00just get to number one
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: focus on what I'm good at
- 3:03What I love to do And to do it with someone that I love And
- 3:08that we can have fun
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And lots of joy Yeah,
- 3:11yeah And this conversation for me It's interesting because
- 3:16sometimes The idea of I
- 3:18want to find my purpose I need to reinvent myself I find that
- 3:24that conversation
- 3:25Sometimes for me Can feel like I'm almost saying Negative
- 3:29things to myself
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And I have,
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: it's like,
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: even though it sounds like a positive conversation out here,
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: it's actually I'm kind of beating myself up back here.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And there's like the undercurrent of that conversation,
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: which is shoulda,
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: coulda,
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 3:47so there's like that sense of I should be doing this or I
- 3:50should be somewhere else,
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: there's this.
- 3:53So you have to look at kind of both sides of the conversation
- 3:56and acknowledge them both as real.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:00and then really get intentional about which side you're going
- 4:03to pay attention to.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Because I'm more committed to my voice.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, go ahead.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: That voice can sound like common sense.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Totally.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: It can sound like responsibility.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And it can sound like, well, yeah, that makes sense.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Of course, I don't want to be risking everything at this time of my life.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Of course, I want to make sure that I'm not shirking my responsibilities.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: And all I can say is that if you have a voice like that, if it's not...
- 4:33cheerleading you and pushing you further towards what it is
- 4:36that you do want,
- 4:38then it's time to kind of really sit down and assess what that
- 4:42voice is or where
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: that voice is coming from.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: And okay, so let's do this.
- 4:46You get to sit down and assess that voice,
- 4:49but you don't need to sit and try to change it.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: So your job in this is not to change the mind of the voice.
- 4:59Your job is to recognize it,
- 5:01acknowledge it,
- 5:02and then give yourself permission to pivot.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And I'm going to say this,
- 5:06pivot towards finding a way to be more playful because that
- 5:10other voice is zero
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: play,
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: is zero levity.
- 5:16So I think that part of the reinvention is the commitment to do
- 5:21it in a way that's more playful.
- 5:23yeah you know and that's huge I and I honestly and I know we
- 5:28keep saying at this
- 5:29time of life but seriously at this time of life we don't need I
- 5:37think we've learned
- 5:38the lesson that we don't need to hustle that we don't need to
- 5:41um you know to really
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: just be in there and just struggling all the time oh
- 5:47because what happens in the struggle is that we focus on the
- 5:50struggle and then all
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: we're doing is creating more struggle.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, full stop.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: And we're restating, it's like recycling.
- 6:01I think I'm particularly good at this is that I recycle the
- 6:05story and I'm telling
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: the story in a way that's taking my energy down instead of,
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: because you can tell the story anyway.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:14you can tell the story anyway and I think that sometimes we
- 6:17fall in love with our
- 6:18story and then we keep repeating the story and what I have a
- 6:22friend of mine it's
- 6:23her birthday today her name is Michelle LeMay and she has a
- 6:26company called Elevate
- 6:27Connect and she is just pure joy I just love being near her but
- 6:33she is really good
- 6:34at this she's like I just won't listen to that story I'm not
- 6:36going to tell that
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: story
- 6:38you know and and and we even got in the car to go to a shoot
- 6:41through a party
- 6:41yesterday and we got in the car and she kind of looked at me
- 6:43and she's like oh my
- 6:44back I have a little twinge in my back and I was like you know
- 6:47I just tell
- 6:47everybody that you know that it's okay if you have a little bit
- 6:50of pain and I was
- 6:51like just tell everybody and she turned to me and she goes I'm
- 6:54not gonna tell
- 6:54anybody about that pain you know because and she it was so
- 6:57amazing because she was
- 6:58like I'm not gonna focus on it she's 64 years young 64 years
- 7:03young is a yoga
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: instructor and DJ
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: And I think she danced longer than anybody else on the dance floor,
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: and she kind of came back from that trip and she's just,
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: you know what,
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: my back didn't hurt.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: It hurt going in, but she didn't focus on that pain.
- 7:20She was focusing on the pleasure and the fun that she was
- 7:23excited about creating.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: And boy, what magnified.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:27And it's about our frequency too so our words carry meaning but
- 7:32they also carry
- 7:32frequency as do our thoughts they're very closely connected so
- 7:39when we're and we're
- 7:40not saying to be to Pollyanna your situation you know we're not
- 7:44talking about being
- 7:45in denial because you know there are moments where you actually
- 7:48have to acknowledge
- 7:49all right this is a situation I've got these things going on
- 7:54but when you're in a
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: low frequency
- 7:57your energy is low your emotions are low all that does is keep
- 8:03you focusing on what
- 8:04it is that you don't want to create more of yes yeah yeah so
- 8:08you need to and I for
- 8:10me I walk I get out I walk around the marina I put headphones
- 8:16in but I don't listen
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: to anything
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: because I want to be in a place of mindfulness.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: Ooh, I like that technique.
- 8:23So you put headphones in because that tells everyone else in
- 8:26the world,
- 8:26don't talk to me.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And you let yourself just go inward into your frequency,
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: into yourself,
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: into like,
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: that's so beautiful.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:36And what I'm doing is I'm looking around me and I'm counting my
- 8:40blessings.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And I call it a gratitude walk.
- 8:43and I'm like oh my god the sun beautiful and the marina and the
- 8:46birds and the
- 8:48beautiful people that live around here and it's very easy where
- 8:50I live to go into
- 8:52that mode but I have to shift my energy and then what I do is
- 8:58I'll ask my guides
- 9:01and I'm not quite sure who responds but I always when I'm in
- 9:05that higher frequency
- 9:06will go what are some suggestions what are some things that I
- 9:09could do here and
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: I'll often find that I have different kinds of ideas coming in
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: and I instantly feel better.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, I think I can figure this out.
- 9:18I think I can move through this because there is always a
- 9:21solution to every challenge.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: There's normally more than one solution to every challenge,
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: but we have to create the space and the quietness.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: The just open yourself.
- 9:31And ask the question so that we can have the answer and the
- 9:37inspiration come back.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, huge, huge.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: I mean,
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: and I think that that for me is why,
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: like,
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: when I am in a low frequency,
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: sometimes it takes a jolt,
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: woo!
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: You know, I have, you know, I watched this meme and I loved it.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: It was this woman and she was like, okay, repeat after me.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Here, let's do it.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, ready?
- 9:54She goes,
- 9:55ha,
- 9:56ha,
- 9:57ha,
- 9:57ha,
- 9:58ha,
- 9:58ha,
- 9:59ha,
- 9:59ha,
- 9:59ha,
- 10:00ha,
- 10:00ha,
- 10:00ha,
- 10:01ha,
- 10:01ha,
- 10:01ha,
- 10:02ha,
- 10:02ha.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: And I just,
- 10:09I love the simplicity of that exercise that she was doing
- 10:12because it was like the
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: joy jolt is a walk,
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: is an earplug,
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: is a,
- 10:18it's the recognition that you need to jolt yourself out of the
- 10:24frequency that
- 10:25you're in and pivot towards or project yourself towards the
- 10:28better feeling.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: And that that's in your hands at all time.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:34and I have to give credit to the headphone thing to our friend
- 10:39Jeffrey Van Dyke I
- 10:41saw him last week at a book signing and he channels so he gets
- 10:46guidance come in and
- 10:48he said they're saying that you need to walk without listening
- 10:53with anything even
- 10:54if you just put the headphones in and I'm like okay so I
- 10:57started practicing that
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: and that's helpful
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: You're hearing it first.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: It was divinely given to you, Nat.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Then you listened and you started to do the practice.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: It feels so good.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: It feels so good.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: And that Joy Jolt, I mean, that's what it is.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: It's a jolt.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: You're putting it in.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: You're making an intentional pivot.
- 11:17And so I want to go back to how that really contributes to
- 11:21reinvention because I
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: feel like there's a real
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: It can feel really heavy and it can feel like a lot.
- 11:32And I guess if there's anything that I want people who are
- 11:34listening to this either
- 11:36live or the recording to hear is the importance of committing
- 11:41to stay in the
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: reinvention from the place of joy,
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: from the frequency of playfulness,
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: from the frequency of just open yourself,
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: joy,
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: because that makes all the difference.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: But I think a lot of us are patterned.
- 11:58We're patterned to create from the push and from the stress and
- 12:02from the anxiety.
- 12:04And it's like,
- 12:05oh,
- 12:05my God,
- 12:05that's such an old way of doing it,
- 12:09even though I'm getting older.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I don't want to use the old way.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: And the thing is, we're cutting ourselves off
- 12:16from like a wealth of ideas and guidance and things that we
- 12:21could never have come
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: up with by ourselves.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: If we're forcing it and making sure that we have to do it ourselves.
- 12:27We have to be able to just open ourselves so that we can be
- 12:32open to the guidance.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: and that is so.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: So I was doing that yoga class.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: I'll go back to my experience yesterday.
- 12:39And it was really interesting because she started this yoga
- 12:41class with a meditation
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: and she was asking you to really tap into your heart center.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: And she was like, choose an emotion of the heart.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And she's like, there's no right or wrong.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Just choose which one comes.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: And of course, what naturally came to me was joy.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: It was, oh, joy, joy.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: What joyful heart.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Like that's so up for me.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Joy.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: But then something deeper
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: kind of called me in that moment.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: And it was trust.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And it was so interesting for me to play with that word.
- 13:11And it's that sense of,
- 13:12I think that's what you're kind of talking about is like trust.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: It's within the joy, there's actually then trust in the process.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: And then you can really enjoy the unfolding.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: But when you're not at joy,
- 13:28then you can't get to trust because you're the one who's trying
- 13:31to force it.
- 13:34and it was magical for me how that practice played out because
- 13:37I kind of stressed
- 13:39my knee in a different class that I was in and I am a
- 13:42participator and I was front
- 13:44row on my mat and I had the word trust and I was having a
- 13:47delicious little
- 13:48meditation but then all of a sudden I was told go to the back
- 13:53of the class we
- 13:55started doing some of the exercises I could feel my knee was a
- 13:57little bit didn't
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: hurt I could have muscled through but
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: But I was like, trust.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: And I went to the back of the class.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: And that is totally a big deal for me.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Because I like to participate and I like to finish.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: And no, I went to the back of the class.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: I didn't even finish the class.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: I did a few exercises and then I was told, go get in the pool.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Go get in the pool.
- 14:23And it was amazing to me how I was being,
- 14:26it's like you said,
- 14:27divinely guided.
- 14:28And it was because she gave me that invitation to go into my
- 14:33heart center to open up.
- 14:35Of course,
- 14:36joy was when it was there,
- 14:37but there's something deeper in the reinvention.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: And your headphone thing speaks to me about that.
- 14:44It's like once you plug into yourself,
- 14:47then all of a sudden you can start trusting.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: But a lot of us are pushing so hard,
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: are feeling the anxiety,
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: the depression,
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: that we're not giving ourselves permission to listen.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: If we were to recap everything that we've been talking about.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: So it sounds like,
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 15:05step number one is to get into that higher frequency and have a
- 15:09practice of it.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: Not that you just, okay, I'm going to think about what I'm doing next.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: So I'm just going to move into happiness or contentment or joy.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: It wants to be a practice.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:20You want to create space and ask the question and invite
- 15:25guidance to come in.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 15:27You also,
- 15:28the next step would be to really think about,
- 15:30well,
- 15:30what is it that I love to do?
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: What do I love doing?
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what gives me joy?
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: And look at the components of it,
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: and then go,
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: okay,
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: well,
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: this is what I'd love to do.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Who is it that I want to serve?
- 15:43And here is another little thing that we haven't touched on yet
- 15:47is how important it
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: is the people that you have around you.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: because when I have a new idea,
- 15:53I'll discuss it with a lot of different friends and I'll get a
- 15:57lot of different
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: takes on it and a lot of different pieces of advice.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: But it helps me to gauge, is this viable?
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Is this something we should do?
- 16:06They'll give me some extra ideas that will come in as well so
- 16:09it's not just the
- 16:09divine I'm asking for guidance but also with some really
- 16:13quality women that I have
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: around me.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: And then lean in.
- 16:17like when you're reinventing you don't have to like burn the
- 16:20bridges lean into
- 16:23something new try a little bit here you know like even with the
- 16:28Joy Jolt our first
- 16:29iteration was that explains a lot yeah we had a whole other it
- 16:34was much more heady
- 16:35right and we realized we really wanted to speak more into the
- 16:39emotion and give
- 16:40people permission you know and I want to tag into what you're
- 16:44saying too is like
- 16:45um that the reinvention it's not just about reinventing what
- 16:49you're doing right
- 16:52it's reinventing who you're being right yes right like that to
- 16:57me is like it's it's
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: really giving yourself permission to think about who you're being
- 17:05how quickly I'm breathing,
- 17:07the way that I wake up in the morning,
- 17:10just my overall disposition.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Am I squeezing joy out of and energy out of these areas of my life?
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Or am I still surrounding myself with this joy-sucking activity?
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Maybe let's make it this easy, okay?
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna make it so easy, because I like it easy.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: Me?
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: I think I know where you're going with this.
- 17:35I'm pretty easy I'm easy simple to figure out like that might
- 17:39be the bottom line
- 17:40for reinvention is that if it's a joy sucker yeah I need to
- 17:44reinvent it right so if
- 17:45it's not giving my being joy if I'm not walking away feeling a
- 17:50little bit more
- 17:51elevated we don't have to be like you know like that's not
- 17:55sustainable you know joy
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: is not just this up here emotion right joy is contentment
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Joy is peace.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Joy is grounded.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Joy is yummy.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Joy is pleasure.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: I've taken to really touching myself.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: And that's so taboo for women to talk about because it just sounds dirty.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: But it's not dirty.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: It's like there's so much pleasure in touching my own hair.
- 18:29You know,
- 18:29and reinventing how I relate to this meat sack that I'm walking
- 18:33around in.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: I spent a lot of my life kind of beating her up.
- 18:39And boy,
- 18:39there's probably gonna be a few more reasons I could beat her
- 18:41up.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: It'd be easier to beat her up, right?
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: But now really honoring, honoring her and feeling her.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Like right now I'm just touching my knees.
- 18:49Yeah.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: You know, and just kind of holding myself.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: I want to be with myself differently.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:57And who we're being at this time of our life will really help
- 19:02you to see quickly
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: what it is that you want to do.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: That's the key.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: Being in that high frequency,
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: deciding who it is that you want to be,
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: how you want to show up,
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: how you want other people to see you.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: And then that will naturally lead into,
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: okay,
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: well,
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: these are the things that I would like to do.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: So maybe are we just relearning how to play?
- 19:26is that what I'm hearing this is just like we've just as adults
- 19:29forgotten how to
- 19:29play we've forgotten how to play and have fun and and that
- 19:34really is what I
- 19:35nobody's reinventing themselves because they want to be more
- 19:38take themselves more
- 19:39serious right nobody's reinventing themselves because they want
- 19:42their life to be
- 19:43harder yeah and what we're not also saying is that to do this
- 19:48that you need to make
- 19:48money out of it we're not saying that at all we're just talking
- 19:51about reinventing
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: who you are and who you're being
- 19:54you may make money out of it you may not but as long as you're
- 19:58doing something
- 19:58that's bringing you joy yeah and you know part of our ethos
- 20:03here at the Joy Jolt is
- 20:04that we are that ripple of joy that we're sending out into the
- 20:07universe absolutely
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: absolutely you know how can you how can you do that how can you be that
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so we're going to be actually going into a deeper conversation.
- 20:19For those of you who are paid subscribers,
- 20:20Nat and I are going to continue this conversation.
- 20:22I'm going to share the three words that I said over and over
- 20:27and over and over and
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: over again that have helped me to actually re
- 20:33We're kind of in this huge remodel to kind of help me hit my
- 20:36equilibrium with this
- 20:37huge remodel that we're doing of our house so that I could keep
- 20:40my sanity,
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: keep my joy,
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: even in the midst of this remodel.
- 20:44So we're going to we're going to go a little bit deeper and
- 20:46share some some of
- 20:47our kind of direct tactics for how do we keep our equilibrium
- 20:52and our joy when
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: there is a lot of change in that reinvention process.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: So thank you for joining us.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: If you are listening to us on a platform that is not Substack,
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: There it is Bye now
