- 0:00The following program is produced by the tech Talk Radio Network. Hey everybody,
- 0:04it's comedian Brad Williams and I'll see you February fourth for my show at the
- 0:09Fox Theater right here in Tucson. But right now you're listening to tech Talk.
- 0:14Enjoyed the show. Welcome to another episode of tech Talk Radio. I'm
- 0:20Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, I am Slick,
- 0:24and I'm justin Lemme. Oh my gosh, the whole crew is here.
- 0:27It only took us, like, what, six weeks a little more
- 0:30than that. I think you've been gone since Thanksgiving, haven't you. No,
- 0:33I've been in. I've been in one or two since then. Are
- 0:35you sure? I don't know. I'm pretty sure. How was your Christmas?
- 0:39That we don't know? Yeah, No, it was fine, it
- 0:41was it was good. We we went to southern California. We actually,
- 0:45uh, oh my god, dude, we flew JSX. Have you guys
- 0:48ever heard of JSX? Oh? I saw your photos and I'm like,
- 0:51what airline is that? JSX is kind of like a it's like a boutique
- 0:56airline. They don't fly out a day, which is Denver International Airport,
- 1:02which is you know, where everything flies out of. They fly out of
- 1:04Rocky Mountain Metro, which is only like fifteen minutes from our house. It's
- 1:07a small little airport. The thing about JSX is what they build themselves as
- 1:12is halfway between commercial and private. And so when you get on a JSX
- 1:19flight, it's like one of those little CRJ jets, like the regional jets,
- 1:25which is normally like about fifty to sixty people. This one. The
- 1:27way they have it out, the way they lay the rows out is from
- 1:32from right to left is a seat, a cocktail table, the aisle,
- 1:38and then another seat, so you're actually never sitting next to somebody. You
- 1:44have your own seat, and every seat is like spaced out like business class,
- 1:48so you have all the business class room. So honestly, when we
- 1:52took the flight from from Denver to Burbank, California, it was a total
- 1:57of like thirty two people, which is great because it's you know, there's
- 2:01not a lot of people there. You also get free drinks, free snacks,
- 2:04all that other stuff. Anyway, but so we flew right into Burbank
- 2:07and then we picked up our Turo. We rented a Turo which is another
- 2:13rental service, but it's by privately owned people, kind of like an Airbnb.
- 2:15But we got a Tesla, So we drove the Tesla from the Burbank
- 2:20Airport down to San Diego, which took forever because La traffic sucks. It
- 2:25took us about three hours to get what normally you should take an hour and
- 2:30a half maybe the most. Yeah, it took us like three three hours.
- 2:32We finally got downe San Diego. We did a you know, hung
- 2:36out in San Diego for a few days. Then we went up to back
- 2:38up north to Oceanside, went to Lego Land. Lego Land was great.
- 2:43It's for my son's seventh birthday. Yeah, Lego Land was fun. It's
- 2:46obviously made for more younger kids and everything, but there are some cool things
- 2:51for adults, especially many Mini Town USA, which is they got like scale
- 2:55now I don't want to say scale replicas, like maybe like one on sixth
- 3:00scale replicas of Las Vegas, New York City, San Diego, so you
- 3:05can like walk down the strip of Las Vegas and the Luxore only basically stands
- 3:09up to your chest level. That's cool. But but yeah, but it's
- 3:13cool. I mean, it's really detailed. And then after we did Lego
- 3:15Land, we went back up to Burbank and went to Universal Studios Hollywood.
- 3:20They have the Mario there, don't they The Yeah, the Nintendo World,
- 3:23Yes, so we yeah, we went to go see Nintendo World. We
- 3:25got into Nintendo World. It was fine. We you know, it's kind
- 3:30of small, to be honest. I mean you think about it, it's
- 3:32you know, I'm used to like things like Disneyland or Disney World whatever.
- 3:37Nintendo World, even Universal Studios, even Lego Land was very small compared to
- 3:42what I was thinking it was gonna be, you know, like like Disneyland.
- 3:46Yeah, but Nintendo World was especially small. And we got in.
- 3:50We we did, we we did. We got early access, so we
- 3:52did the ride. Like we had to wait like twenty minutes. It wasn't
- 3:54a big deal. But after we got out, that's when like everybody else
- 3:59got in the and everybody obviously rushed Nintendo Land or Nintendo World, and so
- 4:03all the lines were like seventy five minutes plus. Wow, that's could do
- 4:08anything. Yeah, And so we were like, uh, let's go back
- 4:10up. So we went back up the way the way. Uh, Universal
- 4:14Studio sits like if you imagine the mountain that where the Hollywood sign is.
- 4:18Yeah, Universal Studio sits just to the left of the Hollywood Sign like on
- 4:24the actual mountain. To get art where Nintendo World is, and we're all
- 4:30actually where all the movie studios are, you have to go down like seven
- 4:33escalators just to get down there. So we got all the way back up
- 4:38to the top. We went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and which
- 4:44was actually pretty cool, which yeah, Sean's like wearing his Harry Potter h
- 4:47oody. We went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. That was pretty
- 4:51cool. We did a little roller coaster ride there and then Eric wanted a
- 4:57wand and the one that he wanted was one of those that has a censor
- 5:02at the end where you can walk around the Harry Potter World and you can
- 5:06do your little magic tricks and then something will happen, you know, in
- 5:10the window or whatever. That's kind It's well, yeah, if you're six,
- 5:17Hey, I'm I've been perpetually six, so I would love it.
- 5:21So I'm sorry. I mean, I'm in my thirties and I thought that
- 5:25stuff was really cool in Florida, So yeah, there you go. Yeah,
- 5:28so seventy five dollars later, Yeah, seventy five dollars later. Oh
- 5:33boy, Eric is walking around with this wand and he goes and does three
- 5:38out of the fifteen spots that you can do, and he's like, all
- 5:41right, I'm done, And I'm like, we're gonna do all fifteen of
- 5:45these spots because I just spent seventy five dollars on this blond. Yeah.
- 5:49So yeah, we walked around to that, and then we went to Simpson's
- 5:53World and did most tavern. Yeah. I got to have a beer with
- 5:58with with the Barney. Yeah, that was pretty cool. Uh. And
- 6:01then you know I did before you move on from that. I saw something
- 6:04the other day. Somebody has taken a I and recreated the Simpsons as how
- 6:12they would look as real people. Yes, and it's actually pretty darn terrifying.
- 6:16Homer little bit Bart. You know the white Marge is hot. No
- 6:23she's not. She's horrific to get. You're looking at the wrong one.
- 6:26You're looking at the wrong one, the wrong the one I saw Marge was
- 6:30hot. No, I didn't think so at all. I'd rather see a
- 6:33family guy, which you know that would be better. But no, no,
- 6:38you could you could. Okay, A let me ask you, all
- 6:40right, let me ask you real quick. Everybody, no, no,
- 6:44no other thing except for the answer I'm asking you for. Okay, Andy
- 6:47Marge or Lois Lois Marge Marge from Simpsons, or Lowis from Family Guys.
- 6:54Lois Lois, he slick Lois case Sean no Us, Matt Lois. She's
- 7:09just the coolest, you know. She just seems like she'd be a lot
- 7:12of fun to hang out. Yeah. We got back on the JSX flight
- 7:15to go back home, and sitting behind me I'm in the first seat,
- 7:18was Coach Prime Dion Sanders. Yeah. I was freaking out. I was
- 7:24like, wait, hold on, because the first thing is I saw him
- 7:26and I can tell by this facial because he had his sunglasses on, his
- 7:29hat on, he has headphones on, but I can tell by his like
- 7:32nose and mouth and everything. I was like, that's familiar. And then
- 7:35I see the Colorado hat. Then I see the coach, I see the
- 7:39Prime the chain that he was wearing it says Prime, and I kind of
- 7:44get his attention a little bit and I kind of mouthed the words I'm like
- 7:46coach Prime and he's like he nods his head and I'm like, oh,
- 7:49I give my thumbs up on a big fan. And then at the end
- 7:53of the flight, I was like, hey, coach, sorry to bother
- 7:56you, can I can I get a quick picture? And he's like,
- 7:58yeah, man, let's make a quick real quick because as soon as this
- 8:00door opens, I'm out of here. So I got a quick picture.
- 8:03But actually, as we were seating, we were having trouble finding mo where
- 8:05my bag was going to go. And he turns to my wife and he
- 8:09says, sweetheg do you want this seat? And she's like, oh,
- 8:15no, Coach, I'm okay, I'm okay, Coach, thank you because
- 8:16she knew who he was too. But yeah, we flew with coach Prime.
- 8:20That's cool. I saw him sure, and I thought that was pretty
- 8:24neat. And the flight attendants said to me, you'd be surprised how many
- 8:26celebrities fly JSX because they don't want to fly private and they don't want to
- 8:31fly commercial. This is halfway in between. That's cool. I'd never heard
- 8:33of it. How do you book a flight on JSX JSX our website?
- 8:39Yeah? Wow? And now is it more expensive than maybe booked? Oh?
- 8:43Yes, you know Alaskan Airlines. Oh yes, yeah, round trip,
- 8:46well, round trip from from Denver to Burbank for the three of us
- 8:50was two thousand dollars. Lord, and we are already but we had already
- 8:56budgeted to go to Japan this year and we decided not to, so we
- 8:58already had the money. If this was a random trip, we wouldn't do
- 9:01that, but we already had the money saved up. So we're like,
- 9:05it's fly private. Wow. Now did you think about driving at all?
- 9:07Heck no, Yeah, that's a long trip, isn't it Colorado? No?
- 9:11Hell no, no, absolutely not. Yeah, speaking of Okay,
- 9:16that's where I kind of want to get into the story a little. The
- 9:18only person on this show that drives an electric, I believe out of Matt,
- 9:22I don't think you'd drive an electric, right, No, is justin.
- 9:26There's been stories that have been coming out it's been so cold that people
- 9:28have not been able to charge their electric vehicles. Have you experienced this yet?
- 9:35Yep? Just tonight, Wow, till just tonight. Explain your listeners
- 9:37what that's all about if you don't mind if I don't know a lot about
- 9:43it, but I do know that when it becomes extreme cold temperatures. EV
- 9:48batteries, they don't they don't show you the true range that you have left.
- 9:54Like if you're a gas tank, if you're a gas car, it's
- 9:58like at your gas tank and it says you got a half tank full,
- 10:03but then you start driving and all of a sudden, it says empty,
- 10:07Like wait, wait, hold on, I thought I had a half tank.
- 10:09That's the battery just does not hold the charge as well when it's cold.
- 10:13So we had just charged Mesas Tesla two days ago. We charged to
- 10:18eighty percent and she only drove to work two days today. When she got
- 10:22home, we had twelve percent battery, which is insane. We should have
- 10:28had at least forty percent battery. She had twelve percent battery. So we
- 10:33went out to dinner tonight. We just got back from dinner. Actually,
- 10:37on the way to dinner, I actually stopped at a supercharger for twenty minutes
- 10:41just to top us off, just to get us to like thirty percent battery.
- 10:45And that thirty percent took us to dinner and got us back home,
- 10:48and now we're still sitting at fifteen percent battery. I was reading there was
- 10:52one guy who told the story about chargeing for eight hours just to get because
- 10:56it's not holding in. This is something that a lot of people you didn't
- 11:00know about. But if you have a doorbell camera or a you know,
- 11:03battery doorbell camera or a even a camera that is monitoring your garage or whatnot,
- 11:09if it gets too cold, they will stop working. Yep. And
- 11:13a lot of people ran into that. Dude, I've got a hardwired doorbell
- 11:16camera, hardwired Gen one Nest doorbell, and it's not working right now.
- 11:22It's like, I understand you would like to see what's at the front door.
- 11:28However, in this frozen hellscape that you live in, I'm not going
- 11:31to work. Yea. How cold did it get for you guys? Okay,
- 11:35I'll tell you right now. It was actually colder in Denver than it
- 11:39wasn't Antarctica. Oh wow? Yesterday? Yeah. And I got home to
- 11:46that from going out to Carson City, Nevada, oh Data, to visit
- 11:52my parents. We were supposed to come home on Sunday and Southwest was like,
- 11:58yo, dog, it's not happening. You're flying home Monday. So
- 12:01we get the notice for that and they put us on like a seven am
- 12:03flight, So we're up already way before God nature and airline should let people
- 12:11be awake. You know. Alarm went off at like four point thirty and
- 12:15I couldn't fall asleep till like one am the night before. And you know,
- 12:18we get on the flight. We were surprised. We actually like made
- 12:22it. People were like, you're not getting home till like Tuesday or Wednesday.
- 12:26Just get over it. My parents were thrilled. I had a great
- 12:28time, but I want to come home and see my dogs. Yeah.
- 12:31So we get here. We as we're landing, I'm looking out the window
- 12:35because I've just woken up, and I'm looking out and all I see is
- 12:37white. I was like, ah, where are we welcome home. As
- 12:43we were taking off, the captain of the plane was like, so it's
- 12:46gonna be a toss up whether we end up in Denver, Colorado Springs,
- 12:50or Albuquerque, just letting you all know. And I was like, ha
- 12:52ha ohow wait, he's serious about the Albuquerque thing. So we land and
- 13:01as we land, there's like snow and everything on the landing on the runway,
- 13:07and we land and I feel the back of the plane kind of fish
- 13:11tailing a little bit, and I'm just sitting there like fully embracing the millennial
- 13:16nihilism. I was just like, well, maybe we'll finally just call it
- 13:20a day. Oh man, Wow, this is how I go. None
- 13:24of my friends are gonna be surprised. Oh man, that's that's in style.
- 13:28So we get there, they open the jetway and every ounce of heat
- 13:33that was on this plane is just gone, Oh my gosh, yes,
- 13:39vanishes. And I'm just sitting there like, ah, yes, home to
- 13:41a frozen now escape. This is fantastic. Let's let's go see what this
- 13:46is like. You couldn't see more than like maybe one hundred and fifty feet
- 13:50outside of the terminal, and I'm just like, oh, and I get
- 13:52to drive home in this yes, yeah, shut. It was like negative
- 13:56twenty sean is in South Bend, where I know you. You get pretty
- 14:01cold there too, don't you. It was ten below zero Saturday morning.
- 14:05Oh my god, that's it. Oh that's warm. That's warm compared to
- 14:09what we had I think are low with that negative thirty five thirty hour winds.
- 14:13Oh the win show was so cold. It's the same and celsius as
- 14:18is in fahrenheit right, good lord? Oh man, negative forty negative forty
- 14:24two or something like that. So it was cold. Now I understand both
- 14:28Mesa and Sean have an oudie. I have never heard of these things before
- 14:33that I'm the one who told you about them. Did you tell us about
- 14:35duty? I bought it just while we were on the show. Yeah,
- 14:39dude, that's the reason we bought it. About this, I'm the original
- 14:41dude with Eddie. You're getting really old, Andy, thank you? Well,
- 14:46why aren't you wearing yours mat? Because I'm in a smart wool and
- 14:50it's up because you ran down there even come down here like, I'll go
- 14:56get it if you want. Oh, you guys gonna hate me for this.
- 14:58I think it's that's the heat affecting me because it's what seventy nine yesterday.
- 15:03Maybe that drew you from the bottom of my heart. Here we go
- 15:09from the bottom of it is it is one degree right now? Am I
- 15:13here? Oh? Yeah, I think we got we got like twenty right
- 15:16now. So sorry, guys, so sorry, all right, So the
- 15:20for the udie you've told us about it, refresh as Sean, your yours
- 15:24is a Harry Potter udie. Yeah, this is the Harry Potter one.
- 15:26It's big if you're watching the video. You can see it right on tech
- 15:31talk radio dot com. Yeah. I got it for Caitlin, let's get
- 15:35it. She has well. See I got Mesa a Barbie one for Christmas.
- 15:39But there's no way I'm gonna wear that. Yeah, that's a good
- 15:43idea. Come on, man, modern modern masculinity, you can do it.
- 15:46Yeah, but it is very comfortable to wear around the house if you're
- 15:50just lounging. It's got the front pockets. You can put stuff in it,
- 15:54right it, you know, the the the advice if I had for
- 15:58them would be to make a pocket that passes through. So like if you're
- 16:03wearing pants or shorts, you can put something in your pocket, or you
- 16:07can, you know, just reach in whatever you're gonna say, so you
- 16:11can scratch your stomach or something, your stomach whatever else stomach. But nice
- 16:18choice. You know. My basement is typically almost ten degrees cooler than upstairs,
- 16:26so I think it's so when I'm sitting down here, my computer generates
- 16:30a little bit of heat, but it's I'm really comfortable in this right now,
- 16:33Like I have the hood up. I'm not too hot, not too
- 16:37cold. But where did you find this? These? Uh? Like many
- 16:42things that I have bought since my wife converted me from the ways of Reddit.
- 16:45I found it on Instagram. Really yeah, yeah, Sean. I'll
- 16:51give you one tip with it. The the cuffs that you got in there,
- 16:56they suck. Rotate them in. Oh there you go. And why
- 17:00why is that just more comfortable? If you rotate them in then you just
- 17:03got Then it puts the tension here instead of on that so much better that
- 17:10what I recommend it. And that's our show, folks, all right now,
- 17:14speaking of speaking of questions, we do have listener questions this week.
- 17:18You know, we've been telling you drop us an email tech guys at tech
- 17:21talk radio dot com. You could call and leave a message. Nobody's done
- 17:25that yet five two oh seven seven seven ninety five eighty. But we actually
- 17:30got one from somebody who's listening to us online in Palm Springs, where the
- 17:33show originated from. This one from Dave. Dave sent in a note he
- 17:37says, we see a lot of smart cameras at work and at home.
- 17:41I know they are also available in the car, but that's when driving.
- 17:45You know, I know you have a camera in your car justin and you
- 17:49know, I think most of us have had at some point, he says
- 17:53about what about when the car is parked? Is there a way to monitor
- 17:57even if Wi Fi isn't available? Tesla, And for those of us who
- 18:07live in the regular economic bracket, thank you? Come on the model?
- 18:11Why is cheaper than your g C? I shut up, don't? Don't
- 18:15you dare talk about the green Goblin like that? You take that, you
- 18:18take my car's name out of your mouth. You slap me. Uh,
- 18:25I'll walk over to your house and slap you. Don't think that will block
- 18:30away? You can lock the door if you want, Erical let me in.
- 18:33Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know I'm here to slap your dad,
- 18:37Daddy. Uncle Matt's here, Dad, Uncle Matt, just your daddy.
- 18:42And now Uncle Matt's leaving smiling. I'm very confused child, all right,
- 18:48So now what what is a way that I know them away? What
- 18:51is your your suggestion? So it's it hasn't gotten the best reviews since I
- 18:56last looked at it, but I know Ring came out with a car camera
- 19:00that plugs not in the USB, but the it plugs into the diagnostic port.
- 19:06So it's pulling far that way, and then Trickle pulls it for up
- 19:11to I think like three hours when you turn the car off. If it
- 19:15detects of a bump, it'll record auto record yep. And it's got camera.
- 19:19It's got a camera facing out and a camera facing into the car to
- 19:23kind of like look out, look at you slash the rear view and that
- 19:29one comes in like a little slim plastic so it actually slides in like mates
- 19:33between your dash and the windshield. So I know that was one. And
- 19:37I saw another. I can't remember the name of it off the top of
- 19:40my head, but it's got the front camera and an actual rotating second camera
- 19:45so you can choose like kind of what angle you want looking back. So
- 19:51I know that was another one. Tesla's got nine cameras. Just want to
- 19:55mention you and what if somebody bumps into the car will automatically record? Just
- 19:59oh absolutely and it will. It'll let you know too. Yeah all right,
- 20:02Well can you smell the smug from Justin by the way there, because
- 20:06that's like, yeah, all right, the problem with the ring and I
- 20:11love the ring. When I was first announced last year, I thought this
- 20:15is great because it was going to work on the theory similar to alcam,
- 20:21where it would always be available, but the problem is they have not been
- 20:25able to keep it available. They have that they've not mass marketed it.
- 20:30And this is from the this is from ring And if you go to the
- 20:36if you go to the website, you can't order it. It's actually they're
- 20:40not even taking more orders. They've and when they first announced it, it
- 20:44was two months out, then it was three months out, then it was
- 20:45four months out, and now you can't or you can't order it. I'm
- 20:49hoping that they focus on this and find this as a viable way for people
- 20:55to protect their vehicles when they're not with it. I mean I do.
- 20:59I do have an actual, an actual recommendation, not Tesla. In my
- 21:03other vehicle. I do have a Nexsar uh and and that is a really
- 21:07good camera. It's a it's a it's a cloud based camera, so you
- 21:11connect it with your phone, so when you get in your car, you
- 21:14know you got Bluetooth turned on your your camera will connect to your Bluetooth uh
- 21:18on your phone and it will upload the clips. But Netsar has a couple
- 21:22of different styles of cameras. They got a front facing one, they got
- 21:26a dual front and rear They've also have a front with a actual rear camera
- 21:30that you can run a cord uh back to the rear of the car and
- 21:37and it records everything. But now in terms of watching it from after you
- 21:42get out of the car, I don't think NEXSAR does that. I think
- 21:47they they do have the ability to do it. I don't think I have
- 21:49mine turned on. But also it's plugged into the cigarette lighter or well,
- 21:56it's just well it's this USB. Actually it's USB, but a lot of
- 22:00cars USBs will turn off after you get out of a car. So to
- 22:06try to find it a power source that'll stay on, that's dependent upon what
- 22:11kind of car you have. That's gonna be The ODB two port is going
- 22:14to be sure. Yeah, that's gonna be probably the best way the outcom
- 22:18that I had. I really loved it and it did that. I never
- 22:21forget taking my car to a shop and it being worked on and having a
- 22:26detection go off and turns out there was a cat sitting on top of the
- 22:32car and it was enough to set off the camera. And I'm here at
- 22:34home and this is like, you know, five miles away and I'm looking
- 22:37at it because it used a four G connection at the time. I don't
- 22:41know what they're up the now. Cool, but the problem is they're expensive.
- 22:45When they started, I think they went to twenty bucks a month for
- 22:48the service, and I just thought, you know, I can't justify this.
- 22:52It just wasn't worth it for me. But I'm hoping there'll be more
- 22:56cheaper alternatives, you know, for what you're trying to get. I think
- 23:02the ring is probably gonna be the next best bet they just like you mentioned,
- 23:06Matt, they just need to get it into mass production. So there
- 23:10are some there are some other vendors that also have, you know, cloud
- 23:12based ones. Carmen has a cloud based one. Ye cam why I Cam
- 23:18has a cloud based one. You like the E brand, don't you.
- 23:21Uh, Yeah, that's what I have. I've been with those first their
- 23:26first yeah, their first version and then uh they had an issue. But
- 23:33sounds like Chinese. It is Chinese, and and and there's a there's a
- 23:37lot of things going around right now with the Chinese, like with with like
- 23:41their products, saying that you know, don't trust the Chinese products because there's
- 23:45likely a back door, you know, from them. Now yeah, well
- 23:48I know, but now it's really coming out. I would like to take
- 23:52this moment as we have raised Chinese technology, to remind you all to not
- 23:55install TikTok on any of your devices. Still is that still? We'll get
- 24:00you by the CCP. It'sh TikTok is, yeah, right, TikTok is.
- 24:07It's it is a social media No, it's a data mining platform.
- 24:11No. And people are like, well, social media itself is a data
- 24:15mining platform, and I'm like, yes, accurate. If you're not paying
- 24:18for anything, you are the product. However, if you look at all
- 24:22the background data that TikTok sends off, even when it's not open, it's
- 24:26literally gigabytes of data. And if you actually troll through to what the permissions
- 24:32and everything you're branding it access to, you might as well just fly to
- 24:37China and hand somebody your phone and be like here you go. Figured we'd
- 24:40save some time, all right, We got to take a break. We
- 24:41come back. We've have some more listener questions, more news of stuff that
- 24:45has been announced Apple Vision. You can be able to test it out and
- 24:49we'll tell you how you can do that. Coming up. I'm Andy Taylor,
- 24:52I'm Sean Demird, I'm Matt Jones. I'm sick and I'm justin.
- 24:56Find us on the web the tech talk radio dot com. We'll be right
- 25:00back now, back to tech talk Radio. I I know that we we
- 25:07all have like smart devices all over our house, you know, being what
- 25:11it is. But have you guys heard about this LG LG washing machine things?
- 25:18Trying to figure out what's going on? And he looks in his LG
- 25:21washing machine has uploaded like three point eight gigabytes of data. Well, I
- 25:26mean that's yeah, all the all the smart connected devices. I've seen this
- 25:30before with the uh well just like a smart dishwasher or whatever. Yeah.
- 25:36Uh And that's a lot of data for a washing machine. I I don't
- 25:40know how many loads of whites this guy was doing, but I delicates,
- 25:45Well, it's got to be the delegates and the permanent press cycle. Man,
- 25:48That's that's where the money's at. Yep, That's that's where it is.
- 25:52Yeah. It's one where as we bring more and more of these smart
- 25:55devices into our house, the thing that is consistently overlooked for so many of
- 26:00these things is security for IoT Internet of things, whether it's your your thermostat,
- 26:07your doorbell, your washing machine, your roomba. Yeah, security is
- 26:12not baked into so many of these things that I actually had a buddy who
- 26:18is over at a mutual friend's house and he was able to just connect via
- 26:23Bluetooth to his buddy's smart switch to turn his lamp on and off. When
- 26:29he went home, he realized at home, not at this dude's house.
- 26:33At his house, he was still connected and was like, I wonder and
- 26:37started turning the lamp on and off, and his buddy, our mutual buddy
- 26:41called him back when was like, yo, stop screwing with my lamp,
- 26:45and like it's funny, but it's also terrifying because he was able to connect
- 26:51to Bluetooth without a password anything like that, and now he's on his own
- 26:55home WiFi sending commands to this dude's password protected Wi Fi and it just slips
- 27:02right by everything and it's like, oh, okay, turn the lamp on
- 27:06it off. Okay, I put the lamp on it off. That's a
- 27:07big problem for a lot of these IoT things that you're forced to put them
- 27:11on the cloud. If you want something reasonably priced, that's what you're gonna
- 27:17get. Yeah, if you want to pay more to be to be local,
- 27:19that you're gonna pay more, they're gonna sell your data. That's that's
- 27:22the way it goes. I have a an LG refrigerator, and I remember
- 27:26I was pretty excited when we we got it because it was a little different
- 27:30than what we had. And I found out it was Internet connected, and
- 27:33uh, when I when I looked into it to see, you know,
- 27:37what is the benefit of it, I thought maybe it would be it's one
- 27:40of those refrigerators that will tell you, oh, you're low on milk,
- 27:42or I can look inside while they're in the grocery store and they have this.
- 27:47You could look inside the refrigerator and see, Okay, I need I
- 27:51need eggs, I need this, I need that. No, this was
- 27:55just to tell me when to replace the filter, and I thought, you
- 27:57know, I don't need that. I don't need to connect to the internet
- 28:02for that. And there's a lot more going on before. Yeah, I
- 28:06just I didn't even enable that. But I've got an l junk. I
- 28:08got an LGTV that does the same thing. And now it's becoming really a
- 28:12pain because it's always asking Yeah. So it just helps. A neighbor set
- 28:17up on ILGTV and she was forced to log in and create an account.
- 28:22It is ugly install an app. What's the old joke? Regular it guys.
- 28:30I've got Google, a home, a smart thermostat, smart light bulbs,
- 28:33this that security guy. I've got a printer from two thousand and one
- 28:40and I have a gun next to it just in case it starts acting up.
- 28:44Yeah, these these internet connected devices I have have what what what people
- 28:48know? I've mentioned on the show before. It's called a pie hole,
- 28:52right, and it's a It's a DNS black hole system. So I run
- 28:56that as my DNS and when I connected up my I have a Samsung TV
- 29:00and I have an LGTV and both of them are just freaking out on the
- 29:06pie hole. When I go to the pie hole dashboard, the top two
- 29:10talkers, the things that are sending the most requests are my LGTV and my
- 29:14Samsung TV because the pie hole is blocking their ability to call home because they're
- 29:21stealing my data. These TVs are watching, they're looking at what I'm watching,
- 29:25what apps I'm using, and they cannot report back, and they're desperately
- 29:30trying to report back to Samsung and LG. This is what justin Lemmy is
- 29:34watching and what he's using, but they can't because I have a pie Hole.
- 29:38So if you're interested, look into pie Hole. It's free. All
- 29:44you got to do is buy a raspberry pie. It's like thirty bucks and
- 29:47you set up a pie hole and put on your network and that will block
- 29:49a lot. Not only does the block that it blocks ads on almost every
- 29:55single website you visit. It blocks almost all ads. There is this analogy
- 29:59docker for right, So if you yeah, I won'talogy, you just have
- 30:06to have something that is capable of running. Synology is way more expensive than
- 30:08a Brasberry pie. But anyway, Yeah, what did they determine to be
- 30:12the issue with this this washing machine sending up three point seven gigabytes of data?
- 30:18It was hacked. It's a botnet. A botnet is is basically two
- 30:21parts. You've got a command and control node that is like your your general
- 30:26and you go out and compromise all these devices and you turn them into bots
- 30:30that respond to the command and control node, and then you can use all
- 30:33these devices for whatever you want, for going to us A lot of people
- 30:37when you do like EDOS attacks uh distributed denial of service where they're just flooding
- 30:45it with too much traffic, and it takes a website or a service down.
- 30:48A lot of times. It's people with botnets that you know, they've
- 30:51got their command and control node and then they tell their army of bots of
- 30:55compromise devices, Okay, go flood this place with traffic, go flood this
- 31:00with a whole bunch of spam comments, whatever they want to do with it.
- 31:06And yeah, adding an LDG washer to a bot net, Like,
- 31:11I'm just imagining this hacker in a forum talking to his buddies and like,
- 31:15I got thirty thousand nodes on my bot net and he's like, yeah,
- 31:18I got a washing machine. Why? Yeah? Yeah. You know,
- 31:22CS did a study that they put out just last week and they found that
- 31:29in our homes. And this is a good question, is what you you
- 31:30mentioned, Matt, As far as you know, you have a gun at
- 31:33a printer, right, seventeen connected devices in the average US household to me,
- 31:40that seems low, Yeah, very low. Yeah. They have like
- 31:44fifty sixty six percent have a smart TV and that's one, and most people
- 31:51have three or four smart TVs. Forty two percent have at least one smart
- 31:55home device that would be thermostat or maybe a light thirty one percent have a
- 32:00security system, thirty nine percent have a smart watch, and eighty nine percent
- 32:06have a streaming video service. And again, I think seventeen connected seems way
- 32:09low. You said, yeah, way low, fifty fifty at least fifty.
- 32:14Yeah, Hey, Andy, are you were you afraid of that refrigerator
- 32:16might be sending back your diet plans to your physician. No, I never
- 32:22cannet, I never connected it. It just reminds me of the story of
- 32:25that the younger girl who got grounded from her computer. Right, So she
- 32:30went to her phone to tweet and then took her phone away. So then
- 32:34she went to her three DS tweet, and then they took her three DS
- 32:37away. So then she went to the fridge and tweeted from the fridge.
- 32:40So somebody's addicted the device. It was just funny. She just kept saying,
- 32:45they took my phone and then she went to the next device. And
- 32:46its this really funny story that ended up being a viral story that reminds me
- 32:51of that. It's like all these connected devices that can get out and reach
- 32:53the Internet, people don't think about what can reach back in. Apple is
- 32:58going to be doing demas how many of you you are into the idea of
- 33:01getting yourself the thirty five hundred dollars Vision Pro. Anybody seriously asking me this
- 33:07question? Yeah, yeah, I am yep. Slick is the only one
- 33:13that really wants this, Yes, I do. Yeah, Well, if
- 33:16you want to, you want to check it out, you want to try
- 33:19it out, And the people listening are saying maybe they want to give it
- 33:22a shot. Apple. Apple Vision Pro will launch on February second. The
- 33:28pre orders are this weekend. It will cost you thirty five hundred bucks.
- 33:34If you want prescription lenses, it's an additional one hundred and forty nine dollars.
- 33:37But here's a thing. You can actually go into an Apple store and
- 33:42do a demo. You'll have to schedule it first come, first serve.
- 33:45They're only going to do it for a limited time. But you're going to
- 33:47be able to learn how to manipulate, how to be able to work everything
- 33:52in augmented virtual reality, and it's going to be interesting. And I don't
- 33:59know if the demo we'll get people to actually spend the money on it,
- 34:01But thirty five hundred bucks is a lot of money. But when you think
- 34:05about it in the terms of Apple it's not that much money. It's Apple.
- 34:09It's not a consumer base. And I can say that because I worked
- 34:15for them. It's a cult. They will spend the money. They say
- 34:19though, that you'll be able to use this instead of a computer or an
- 34:22iPad. So basically you're buying that OS with the these this virtual vision pro
- 34:31right, yeah, And I mean it will work with like a MacBook or
- 34:36whatever. Just the fact that I could put that thing on and people will
- 34:39look at me and go, oh, I can't talk to him now?
- 34:42Why they already do that? Not enough? All right, Dorothy in Tucson,
- 34:50This would be a good one for you, justin She wrote in saying
- 34:53there's so many ads on TV for finding great deals for traveling. We see
- 34:58all the ads all the time. Mister obvious or Captain obvious? Is there
- 35:02some sites that are better than others? Can I really save by using these
- 35:07sites? Used to be you'd go to a travel agent? Right? Well,
- 35:12the thing is, I honestly I okay, please somebody else chime in
- 35:15here, But I honestly think that we have become so flooded with travel sites
- 35:22that promise to save you money when in reality you know you're again we we
- 35:28just we just talked about this a couple of minutes ago. What you're doing
- 35:31by saving all this money is you're giving up your data, and they're selling
- 35:36your data. So they're gonna sell your email address, they're going to sell
- 35:39your phone number, they're going to sell your destinations, they're gonna sell you,
- 35:43they're gonna sell everything about you to their advertising, you know, people,
- 35:49whatever their contracts. Honestly, I think that travel agents are starting to
- 35:54see a resurgence because they don't do that. They will book your trip and
- 36:00they will protect your privacy. And I think that's where we need to go
- 36:05now. To answer her question, Yeah, sure you can save by using
- 36:08these travel sites, but you're gonna lose your privacy. So I vour you.
- 36:15I would go to a travel agent. Yes, go to a travel
- 36:17agent for me. The sites I have never found, never never found a
- 36:22travel website that I found appealing or I a don't want to say easy to
- 36:27use. Dad looked at it. I was like, you know what,
- 36:29it's easier for me just to call the travel agent and they find me.
- 36:31I believe the better. When I could find a fifty dollars ticket from Duissant
- 36:37to New York because they got to turn that plane around. Yeah yeah,
- 36:43uh, not only that, but yes, you're saving a couple of dollars,
- 36:47But you also don't realize what you're losing in the process by going through
- 36:52those third parties. You're losing if anything goes wrong. You're losing your right
- 36:58to say I'm flying you and I bought my ticket through Kayak or something.
- 37:02I got to deal with Kayak instead of United, same with hotels, anything
- 37:07like that. And you're not gonna get your eligible points, You're not gonna
- 37:12get most your loyalty rewards, all those things that would be back in that
- 37:16can either build up over time or have benefit right there at the gate.
- 37:21You're not gonna get any of that. And imagine you're in a foreign country,
- 37:25you're you don't speak the language, or you'll you know, you're having
- 37:30to try and communicate back and forth with partial understanding of both, and you
- 37:34can't deal with those people to fix your problem because you saved an extra ninety
- 37:38bucks by buying your airline ticket on cheapoair dot com, which is a real
- 37:44website. Is so nine times out of ten, what I've discovered lately is
- 37:50like slicking Justin said Yeah, either go through a travel agent because they have
- 37:53the relationship with those various companies and you still get your points, perks,
- 38:00gizmo's and gadgets, or just booked directly through so many of the different resorts,
- 38:06airlines, hotels, things like that. They they will have deals if
- 38:09you book directly through them. Yes, I remember when I worked at Disneyland
- 38:15and Disneyland Hotel. Walt Disney Travel was actually at Disneyland Hotel, and you
- 38:21call that number and you'd be able to get them to book your tickets to
- 38:24get into the park at a discount. You've got a bonus for staying at
- 38:29the hotel, your airfare, your car rental car while you were in town,
- 38:32or they'd come pick you up at the airport. They'd arrange all of
- 38:35it. So yeah, again, I think travel agents are still out there.
- 38:39There's still a great way to save money. I have used Travelocity.
- 38:44I've used I was gonna say Expedia. I think it's is it? What
- 38:47is it? Travel people? No, you're you're right. I thought that
- 38:52was a I thought that was a dictionary. Wait, travelocityexpedia dot com is
- 38:59a travel you're thinking of encyclopedia. Yeah, maybe that's it. I don't
- 39:01know, but yeah, I've used them. But again, you know,
- 39:06you'd never know. I think you know. And here's the other thing.
- 39:08If you ever noticed you go online to one site and you're looking up airfare
- 39:13and maybe a hotel deal, and then you go to another website and it's
- 39:16a little more expensive. You need to when you do these searches. You
- 39:22need to use an incognito browser. Ah. And the reason, oh my
- 39:27god, yes, close and reopen with each one, because when you're searching
- 39:34on these sites, they put a little cookie on your machine, and each
- 39:37time you go back and search, they just tack a few more dollars,
- 39:39few more dollars, few more dollars. So if you don't believe me,
- 39:43you go ahead and do some searches for travel on your regular browser. You
- 39:45know, go through it a couple of times, reboot your machine, open
- 39:50up an incognito window, and then check it again, and you'll see a
- 39:52drop in price. Are you Goodtory pricing is huge on the internet, right.
- 39:55It's you go to a website and they know you come and look at
- 40:01you, they know you came and looked at it. You go away,
- 40:04you come back now might be fifty eight ninety nine because they want you to
- 40:08buy it right. It's they're tracking you, they're keeping you on, and
- 40:14then when you go to it, then they start adding on extra fees.
- 40:15It's it's terrible how the internet is priced out, like just anything. All
- 40:21right, we got to take another quick break. Come back. We've got
- 40:22more of tech talk Radio. Find us on the facebooks at Facebook dot com
- 40:27forward slash tech Talkers. We'll be right back and now back to tech talk
- 40:31Radio. A couple of years ago, I got myself a present when we
- 40:37were doing COVID and I was doing the online trivia for Bruce Bears and I
- 40:44was doing these like you know, doing the online trivia with everybody watching,
- 40:46and I would try to use my keypad to fire off little gifts or you
- 40:52know, little little things for my live stream, and I found it very
- 40:54cumbersome. Anyway, all the people that were watching for my fortieth birthday,
- 40:59they actually pitched in and got me like a I think it was like a
- 41:00four hundred dollars gift card. And I bought myself a stream deck. And
- 41:06if you don't know what a stream deck is, it is a extension to
- 41:09your computer of a set of uh well, I mean, well, there's
- 41:15there's a couple different models. There's the one I got is the fifteen key
- 41:17model. So it's like, think about adding a ten key. You know,
- 41:22your your one, two, three, four, five, six,
- 41:24seven, eight nine, whatever, adding an extra ten key to your system.
- 41:29But this is fifteen keys, and these are all programmable, like you
- 41:34can do whatever you want with them. You can make them just do a
- 41:37simple hot key where you press it and it does something, or you can
- 41:39make it a macro where you press it and will do a B, C
- 41:44and D. You can do all kinds of stuff with this. So ideally
- 41:50it is designed for people that do live streaming where they want to add effects
- 41:54to their live stream, where they want to toss up a different camera shot,
- 41:59or they want to put a graphic on the screen, or they want
- 42:00to switch where their camera position is, they can just hit a hot key
- 42:05and it will do that. But there's so much more you can do with
- 42:07a stream deck. And in fact I found out after having one for so
- 42:13many years, three years whatever, I finally just I don't use I don't
- 42:19really use this PC as much anymore, and it sucks. It's a total
- 42:23other story. But I don't use my desktop PC even after upgrading it.
- 42:28So I grabbed my stream deck and I took it to work, and I
- 42:31was like, let me see what I can do with it at work.
- 42:35So what I did at work was on my fifteen key stream deck. I
- 42:37have a couple of different buttons and they're all they're all illuminated, and they're
- 42:43led screens behind them so you can see what you're looking at on the screen.
- 42:46So I have a couple buttons that have different time zones because I deal
- 42:51with people in every time zone. So I have like New York, Chicago.
- 42:55I have one for Tokyo just because you know, my family's in Tokyo.
- 42:58Whatever. But I also have one called work and it's a it's a
- 43:04macro hockey. All I have to do is press work and it opens up
- 43:07my outlook, It opens up Firefox, and it opens up four different tabs
- 43:14of the most common things that I use on those tabs. It also opens
- 43:17up Microsoft Teams. Then after that's done, it then positions the windows exactly
- 43:24where I want them to be automatically with one press of a button. It
- 43:30does all of that. Wow, now here's the here's the really cool thing.
- 43:35If I decide that I ever want to play a game at work.
- 43:40Let's say it's a it's a slow day and I'm not really doing nothing right,
- 43:45and I want to play a game at work. But uh oh,
- 43:49the boss walks in. I have a button on my stream deck called emergency,
- 43:54and I press that button and it minimizes the game, it minimizes whatever
- 43:59the active window is, and it throws up an Excel spreadsheet. Oh nice,
- 44:04that's where I thought you were going with this. Yeah, yep,
- 44:07So a stream deck. They're not expensive. So the fifteen key stream deck
- 44:13is like, I think it's like one hundred and fifty dollars. The thirty
- 44:15two key stream deck is like, uh, I don't know, two and
- 44:20ten, two hundred and fifty forty nine. And then there's a mini stream
- 44:24deck that's only six buttons. But again, these six buttons can be you
- 44:30can make folders out of these buttons. So you can press one button and
- 44:34it opens up a virtual folder with another set of six buttons. So in
- 44:40reality, even a six button stream deck you could have thirty six different buttons.
- 44:46You have to really be really proficient at this stuff to be able to
- 44:50set it up. No, it's not that hard. You just have to
- 44:52basically click and drag where you want the button to be and then you tell
- 44:57the button what to do. And it's very it's the software is very intuitive.
- 45:00It's super easy to figure out. Now, yes, you can get
- 45:05very advanced with it if you really want to. Like my uh my work
- 45:09one is not that advanced. I just basically have it set to do a
- 45:15macro where it's like I press this button, You're gonna do A, then
- 45:19B, then C, then D and that's all it does. It just
- 45:22does it in the order. So it's not very difficult to use. And
- 45:27so now I've got two stream decks. Actually I bought a second one just
- 45:30to stay at work, and then I have a I have one that travels
- 45:35with me wherever I go because I like to play train simulator. And don't
- 45:39judge me, but with train simulator there's a lot shut ups, Like there's
- 45:45a lot of hot keys on train simulator a little too, there's a lot
- 45:51of hockeys on train simulators. So I like to have them set up on
- 45:53the stream deck so I can just hit the hot key instead of having to
- 45:57hit control shift H to open up the doors of the train. I just
- 46:01hit one button and it does it. Can you do that with the goat
- 46:04simulator to No? No, not really you know, no no ghost stimulator.
- 46:09Yeah, Like that's that's the whole different story. They're they're very simple
- 46:15to use, Like it's very easy for somebody to get one, plug it
- 46:19in and start doing things. The broadcast industry has latched onto the stream decks
- 46:24for a multitude of reasons. Either they're they're incredibly powerful. There is a
- 46:30open source software that you can buy or not buy. It's open sources.
- 46:37I know, I was Focus Bit Focused Companion. It is a software you
- 46:44can download and it is developed by like six guys and it is a control
- 46:49software for a large number of professional level broadcast equipment. So they have tied
- 46:57in the stream deck and you don't have to have a stream deck to use
- 47:00it either. You can just use the web the web emulation side of it,
- 47:02but you can have a physical surface so that software will work with the
- 47:07stream decks outside of the Algato software that comes with it. But I can
- 47:12tie it and we use them all the type of work. We use them
- 47:14in all of our control rooms. We use it to play audio, but
- 47:16I can set it up to control our video switcher. I can I can
- 47:21run macros, I can run audio, I can trigger graphics out of our
- 47:25expression machines. I can set it up andy. You could set it up
- 47:29to run your A ten Mini, so you couldn't even if you wouldn't even
- 47:31have it on your desk, and you could fire commands with it. It
- 47:36works with OBS, It works with all of the streaming platforms that are out
- 47:38there. If you don't want to use if you want to be a little
- 47:43bit more on the on the bleeding edge of that stream deck type stuff,
- 47:46bitfocused companion. It's incredibly powerful tool and it is used worldwide in the broadcast
- 47:52industry. So so the broadca industry, this standard is black Magic design.
- 47:58Yeah, and black Magic Design and would charge you probably twenty five to thirty
- 48:02thousand dollars for something what Sewan is mentioning that you could buy for one hundred
- 48:07and fifty dollars with some open source software yep. So a lot of people
- 48:12are using like VMA, like a lot of broadcasts. This happened during COVID.
- 48:15Right stream decks came out right before COVID, and then people started using
- 48:20them to do simple streams. A lot of churches using v mix and a
- 48:23couple other platforms wirecast, streamyard, you know all those other ones, and
- 48:28we are able to then use pro presenter. So then now all of a
- 48:31sudden, you have a little mini switcher, two buttons to switch cameras,
- 48:34I can put up a graphic and pro presenter, I can run through slides.
- 48:37I can you know all this stuff and it's it's it became very a
- 48:42very powerful tool and it's almost a necessity now to know how to use bit
- 48:46focused in a job like mine. All right, one more question before we
- 48:50go to break here. Darren and Celadita. A few years ago, we
- 48:52were talking about a British TV show that's centered around people working in it.
- 48:58I think Amanda was the one who told told us about this, and it
- 49:00was supposed to be funny. But I can't remember the name of the show.
- 49:04It's supposed to be funny. I can't find anything that looks like this.
- 49:08Is there any idea of what this show would be? It's British,
- 49:12bad knows, Matt. It's it's the IT crowd. Yes, it is
- 49:15the I T crowd. You should know that because you look like one of
- 49:19the characters. Yeah, he does, actually he does. I'm sorry,
- 49:25hello, I t if you try turning it off and on again. Thanks
- 49:30for having all right now, we'll be up there in just a minute.
- 49:32I don't know where you could find it. I don't know if it's a
- 49:35pretty good British accent or or Netflix, but it's the IT crowd is the
- 49:39one you will to look for. All are gonna take quick break. We'll
- 49:42be back with more of tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean
- 49:45de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, I am Slick and I'm justin Lemme and
- 49:50I'm not even going to try to do a British accent. So yeah,
- 49:53we'll be right back. Jes jolly good. I do want to remind you
- 49:58you could follow us on YouTube. I've got a YouTube channel. We post
- 50:00a lot of our chemist b Fox eleven segments there, videos that we have
- 50:06put together of maybe a product that we're showing. And again you can find
- 50:08that all just by subscribing. Subscribing to our YouTube channel, you'll find the
- 50:13link on our main web page at tech talk radio dot com. Won't be
- 50:17right back and now back to tech Talk Radio. So during the break,
- 50:22I did a quick Google Food. Yeah, and the It the IT Crowd.
- 50:25The crowd is on Netflix at least in the US. All right,
- 50:30so on Netflix It Crowd are they like long episodes like half an hour half
- 50:36an hour normal TV show episodes. But it is British humor based in the
- 50:40UK, perfect which makes it like two hours. It is because you have
- 50:45to keep rewinding and figure out what they're saying. It is a very well
- 50:47done show, and it is if you like or know somebody that likes technology,
- 50:52they're gonna like the show. Can if you like TikTok radio. Slick
- 50:55is the main character. Yeah, basically yeah, yeah. I want to
- 51:00quickly mention, just real fast, a show that I've been watching on Netflix.
- 51:04My wife got me into. It's called Vivant and it's on Netflix.
- 51:07It is a Japanese thriller, Vivant viv A n T. It involves the
- 51:14CIA, It involves all kinds of like crazy organizations. It is super super
- 51:21cool and it's got so many twists and turns. It's like it's like,
- 51:25uh, what's that movie with Kevin Spacey, The The Usual Suspects Usual Suspects?
- 51:32Yeah, all right, Uh, now I got something for you justin
- 51:37h last year you told us about barbecuing that you were like smoking your meat
- 51:43and yeah, doing all kinds of crazy stuff to it. At CES.
- 51:46This year, I saw this and I thought of you right away. How
- 51:50about having the perfect steak cooked in ninety seconds? Last for me? Yeah,
- 51:54last me. It is the world's first AI powered grill. Sheer grill?
- 52:00Nope, perfect, But you bet money I can make a better steak
- 52:06than that grill. Right, you're on if we're gonna have to get one
- 52:09to try it. But here's the deal. The grill operates at one thousand
- 52:14and six hundred and fifty two degrees. Oh my gosh, how many how
- 52:19many houses are going to be lost? So it basically nukes it in ninety
- 52:22seconds. Okay, like you know that does. The food does not cook
- 52:28that way, but it's AI powered, so it's got to work. Right.
- 52:30Oh yeah, use this chat GBT, which we all know that's accurate.
- 52:36Perfect this, I promise the steak it's it's it's blackened. No,
- 52:42it's burned. Yeah about your fast food and it's still frozen in the center.
- 52:46Is there is there a tech company that is making products that are easier
- 52:52when it comes to cooking I mean that was a big thing at CES this
- 52:54year. But which one? Ava? A Nova? I use them for
- 53:00SUV cooking, connects via Bluetooth to my phone, and I use their app.
- 53:07It's just it's literally a I'll be honest, when you look at this
- 53:12thing, it looks inappropriate. Yeah, it definitely does look inappropriate. It
- 53:15looks horribly inappropriate. But it just clips to like a plastic thin or a
- 53:20pot or something, heats up the water to the right thing, and I
- 53:23don't have to be like, oh I need this temperature at this long.
- 53:25I just go beef steak medium rare. Wow, all right, and then
- 53:30my phone lets me know it's done, take it out, had it dry,
- 53:36finish it in a cast iron like God intended? Yeah, all right,
- 53:38yeah, Ninja Ninja Grill. I personally like Ninja Ninja does a lot
- 53:44of good stuff. The air fryers, they're blenders, they're food processors.
- 53:47They're really good. All right. Well, that's it for this week's Tech
