Transcript
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:18Speaker 1: the Premier League.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm Janny Batici and I'm Sam from FPR Family.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hey Sam, we still have one match to go. It's
- 0:23Speaker 1: Chelsea versus Spurs, It's Jenny versus Sam. But the first
- 0:26Speaker 1: ten games of the week have thrown up a number
- 0:28Speaker 1: of huge talking points, haven't they. I mean, we saw
- 0:30Speaker 1: Harlan come off the bench to score. We saw Foden
- 0:32Speaker 1: miss out through illness. We saw Salah and Darwin while
- 0:35Speaker 1: they were sold on mass but both found themselves on
- 0:37Speaker 1: the bench by klop and we had a couple of
- 0:40Speaker 1: goalkeeper injuries Martinez and Edison. But how was game Week
- 0:44Speaker 1: thirty five for you? Sam? Oh?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Do you know? Johnny? I was getting myself in a
- 0:47Speaker 2: bit of a state going into this one because a
- 0:49Speaker 2: lot of the community had their wildcards active, and I
- 0:52Speaker 2: had a bit of a bit of a moment of
- 0:55Speaker 2: kind of like I wish I still had my wild
- 0:57Speaker 2: card because it's so fun, isn't it, our carden. There's
- 1:01Speaker 2: this whole wave of expectations and things that might happen
- 1:04Speaker 2: when you've played it, and it could be great. And
- 1:06Speaker 2: I was looking at my team thinking well, I don't
- 1:09Speaker 2: really want Salah anymore and I don't really want Darwin
- 1:11Speaker 2: anymore because the form hasn't been there and the double
- 1:14Speaker 2: is passed now for Liverpool and you know, some trickier
- 1:17Speaker 2: fixtures on the horizon, so I wanted to change them up.
- 1:20Speaker 2: So I ended up taking a minus eight heading into
- 1:22Speaker 2: game week thirty five, which is something that I never do,
- 1:25Speaker 2: and of course, Johnny, it's one of those, isn't it.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Where part of the decision for the minus eight was
- 1:30Speaker 2: to bring in is Sacha, who I really wanted, and
- 1:32Speaker 2: that obviously went incredibly well. We'll talk about him later,
- 1:35Speaker 2: but the other two parts of that minus eight have
- 1:38Speaker 2: failed dramatically because one of them was to bring in Foden,
- 1:41Speaker 2: who obviously then was ill and missed out in the
- 1:44Speaker 2: in the week. Although I did get very jammy and
- 1:47Speaker 2: get soccer off the bench in replacement for Foden, I did.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I did, so you know that's my Spurs bias coming in.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I guess that i'd bench soccer. I really struggled with
- 1:55Speaker 2: you to bench this week, and in the end plumped
- 1:57Speaker 2: for soccer, which was a terrible decision. I've sat in
- 2:00Speaker 2: the Spur Stadium with three nail down to Assen or
- 2:02Speaker 2: thinking why on earth have I benched soccer? But he
- 2:06Speaker 2: did come on in replacement for Foden, so it's nice
- 2:08Speaker 2: to get those twelve points off the bench. And then
- 2:09Speaker 2: the other decision I made based upon last week was
- 2:13Speaker 2: I really needed Differmento last week and we had nine
- 2:16Speaker 2: players last week. I really needed Livremento to come off
- 2:18Speaker 2: the bench and get me something just the point, that's
- 2:20Speaker 2: all I wanted, and he didn't. So this week I thought,
- 2:23Speaker 2: heading into bench beast in thirty seven, probably need to
- 2:26Speaker 2: change up my Newcastle defender, so sold Livermento for Fabian Share,
- 2:32Speaker 2: only to then find that Livermentos started anyway and shar
- 2:35Speaker 2: went off injured. So all of that sounds like it
- 2:38Speaker 2: was a tale of woe. Actually it hasn't been. I've
- 2:41Speaker 2: had a really good week. I'm on a nice green
- 2:43Speaker 2: arrow because I had players that most people had sold
- 2:46Speaker 2: on their wild cards. Like soccer. The only frustration for
- 2:49Speaker 2: me so far, apart from the Livermento and Shah transfer,
- 2:54Speaker 2: which ended up costing me more than the four points
- 2:57Speaker 2: because obviously liver Mento outscored him, was the fact that
- 2:59Speaker 2: I Pickford this week for Petrovich because you kind of
- 3:03Speaker 2: have to play a double game week goal keeper. So
- 3:05Speaker 2: having him on the bench hasn't filled me with confidence.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But I did captain's son and so far in the
- 3:11Speaker 2: battle between Son and Palma, Son is winning out. It'd
- 3:14Speaker 2: be interesting to see what's happening on Thursday.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah, will be. I mean Son got his points late
- 3:19Speaker 1: with that penalty and Palmer could have had his points late.
- 3:22Speaker 1: He has that a brilliant chance late on that you expect.
- 3:25Speaker 1: They did all the hard work and then it's one
- 3:27Speaker 1: on one with the keeper and Eat he doesn't find
- 3:29Speaker 1: it past the keeper to keep his legs. But versus Son,
- 3:32Speaker 1: as always, captaincy is a huge part of this game.
- 3:35Speaker 1: So we'll talk more about maybe that later, but should
- 3:37Speaker 1: we kick off with that. London, Wu're at Tottenham Verus Arsenal.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You mentioned benching Sakka there, who was brilliant in that
- 3:44Speaker 1: first half an hour. Why is it when you told
- 3:46Speaker 1: me about getting some bench jam sack off the points
- 3:49Speaker 1: as a fellow FPL manager, I just can't be happy
- 3:52Speaker 1: for you straight away. I'm like, ah, there's something about
- 3:56Speaker 1: bench jam that no other FPL manager welcomes. Whether it's
- 4:00Speaker 1: for their mates or not, You're like, ah, you just
- 4:02Speaker 1: resent it. It just resents it because everyone wants it.
- 4:05Speaker 1: There's nothing more frustrated than getting bench points. So often
- 4:07Speaker 1: we see it and we don't see the auto sub.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But when you hear of those auto sub stories, you
- 4:12Speaker 1: just go, oh, man, that's so jammy.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Honestly, no, but it was incredibly jammy because so I
- 4:18Speaker 2: was looking at my front eight for this week with
- 4:20Speaker 2: Foden Gordon's son Palmer Matteta on the back of his
- 4:23Speaker 2: four goals on the CIS last week Harland and Esak
- 4:26Speaker 2: and then Soccer and thinking who on earth do I
- 4:29Speaker 2: bench here? Because I can't mention either of the two
- 4:31Speaker 2: Newcastle guys at home because we know what Newcastle are
- 4:34Speaker 2: like at home. I don't want to bench Mateta based
- 4:36Speaker 2: upon what we just seen from him and him being
- 4:39Speaker 2: an absolute hero for me in game week thirty four,
- 4:41Speaker 2: And in the end I thought, I'm gonna bench Soccer
- 4:44Speaker 2: and I'm not gonna like it, and I hated every
- 4:46Speaker 2: minute of it. But I benched him on the basis
- 4:48Speaker 2: that I thought maybe Harlan might not be available, because
- 4:50Speaker 2: we weren't really sure what that was looking like in
- 4:53Speaker 2: terms of his recovery from the injury that kept him
- 4:55Speaker 2: out in midweek, so I kind of thought, well, our
- 4:57Speaker 2: bench sacker put him first sub and then maybe he
- 5:00Speaker 2: going to come off the bench. And honestly, I'm sitting
- 5:02Speaker 2: there and I'm watching the Spurs game play out and
- 5:05Speaker 2: it gets to halftime and I turned to my mum,
- 5:06Speaker 2: who I was there with, and I was like, she
- 5:09Speaker 2: was like, I don't think it could get any worse
- 5:10Speaker 2: than this. I was like, yeah, it can. I've got
- 5:12Speaker 2: Soccer on my FPL bench alongside Gabrielle and Saliba. I
- 5:14Speaker 2: benched all three of my asst on play its now.
- 5:16Speaker 2: The decision to bench Sleebra and Gabrielle actually in the
- 5:19Speaker 2: end went fine. It didn't look like it was going
- 5:22Speaker 2: to at halftime, but in the end it did. But
- 5:25Speaker 2: I do feel incredibly jammy to have got soccer off
- 5:27Speaker 2: the bench. I'm not going to sit here and say
- 5:28Speaker 2: it was good FPL management, because I mean, I suppose
- 5:31Speaker 2: it was good FPL management to having first sub.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, because so many sold soaker. I'm someone that sold
- 5:35Speaker 1: soccer on wildcard, and if you did wildcard ahead of
- 5:37Speaker 1: this game Week thirty five, there's a very good chance
- 5:40Speaker 1: you were one of the Sacca sellers because to fit
- 5:42Speaker 1: in all those luxury players in the midfield that we've
- 5:44Speaker 1: just spoken about, something had to give. And Arsenal of
- 5:47Speaker 1: course don't have a double in thirty seven. And if
- 5:49Speaker 1: you're looking at the players everyone's been buying of late,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it's all those with either it's either Chelsea or Spurs
- 5:55Speaker 1: players because they double double, or all those that double
- 5:58Speaker 1: in thirty seven. So we're b lining for the likes
- 6:00Speaker 1: of you know, mag United or Newcastle players. So Socca
- 6:04Speaker 1: made way and I sold hats and Soaker both came up.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Oh man, yeah, and you know it was great to
- 6:09Speaker 1: get their points last time out in thirty four, which
- 6:12Speaker 1: was a high scoring week. But both Harts and Soaker
- 6:15Speaker 1: have Bournemouth next now and they've got mag United in
- 6:17Speaker 1: thirty seven when other team's double, well I see goals
- 6:19Speaker 1: in that, and then they've got a good fixture in
- 6:21Speaker 1: the last day of the season. So you know, still
- 6:23Speaker 1: very good owns clearly, and sometimes we say it every
- 6:25Speaker 1: season we get a little bit of tunnel vision for
- 6:28Speaker 1: those double game week assets, don't we.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Definitely you talk about selling Socaca, you definitely weren't alone.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Five one hundred and twenty one thousand managers sold soccer
- 6:36Speaker 2: heading into this week, and I think, like you say,
- 6:38Speaker 2: that was in part due to the fact that it
- 6:40Speaker 2: was no doubles left for Arsenal, it was in part
- 6:43Speaker 2: due to the fact that people wanted all of these
- 6:44Speaker 2: other assets, you know, the Foden, the Anthony Gordon's, the Palmers,
- 6:48Speaker 2: the Suns, all of these players that have the double
- 6:51Speaker 2: game week to come in in game week thirty seven.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Bruno Fernandez of course being really popular as well with
- 6:55Speaker 2: managers on wild cards. So I totally get it. I
- 6:58Speaker 2: totally get why you would sell soccer and have its
- 7:01Speaker 2: But having sat there and watched them, I mean, for
- 7:03Speaker 2: the first fifteen minutes of that game, it was the
- 7:04Speaker 2: best Spurs performance that I've seen potentially all season. We
- 7:08Speaker 2: came out, we were really really good for those fifteen minutes,
- 7:12Speaker 2: and for whatever reason, Spurs and their ability to defend
- 7:16Speaker 2: from a set piece is just terrible, which you know,
- 7:18Speaker 2: heading into next week actually looks really good if you
- 7:20Speaker 2: own tren Alexander Arnold or somebody like that from Liverpool,
- 7:24Speaker 2: even Van Dijke from his set piece threat, because they
- 7:26Speaker 2: are so bad at defending from set pieces, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: they had two in the game, and Arsenal scored from
- 7:31Speaker 2: both of them. It was just one of those performances. Defensively.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Having said all of that, I did think going in
- 7:38Speaker 2: at halftime we were a bit unlucky to be three
- 7:40Speaker 2: nailed down because Van Dervennad obviously had one ruled out
- 7:43Speaker 2: for offside. But it was very tight that decision. There
- 7:46Speaker 2: were a number of occasions where Spurs had got through,
- 7:48Speaker 2: like there was one for Son where he just skied it.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I think it hit Rose and I watched it because
- 7:53Speaker 2: from the other end of the stadium and I was like,
- 7:56Speaker 2: what is going on with you? Because he was so
- 7:59Speaker 2: out of the game for the majority of it, and
- 8:02Speaker 2: it was only really at the end of the game
- 8:04Speaker 2: on sixty ish minute when Apostolic took off, James Madison
- 8:08Speaker 2: moved kulis Eski into that number ten, who, by the way,
- 8:10Speaker 2: Kutuseski was, in my opinion, the best best player on
- 8:13Speaker 2: the pitch.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I thought so even the right I thought he was brilliant.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Was he was really good? Maybe fatherhood. He became a
- 8:20Speaker 2: dad at the weekend, so maybe his father had encouraged
- 8:23Speaker 2: him to know he.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Had the baby celebration that he couldn't use. I bet
- 8:27Speaker 1: he was ready for the baby celebration.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I reckon so on Thursday night you'll see that as
- 8:30Speaker 2: stamp for Bridge, but I think yeah, for me, he
- 8:35Speaker 2: was the best player, and then when we moved him
- 8:37Speaker 2: into the number ten he continued to look good. It
- 8:39Speaker 2: also meant that because obviously Johnson had come on to
- 8:41Speaker 2: a place Berner who got injured on thirty one minutes.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Johnson then moved out onto the side that he prefers
- 8:46Speaker 2: to play, put him on the right. He was much
- 8:48Speaker 2: more effective down that side and it allowed some to
- 8:51Speaker 2: go out on the left where he suddenly started to
- 8:53Speaker 2: flourish and we started to see bits of sun that
- 8:55Speaker 2: I really have missed in the last few weeks when
- 8:58Speaker 2: he's been playing in that number nine because he's not
- 9:00Speaker 2: been so comfortable in front of goal in the last
- 9:02Speaker 2: few weeks. But seeing with Charlison come back, I think
- 9:05Speaker 2: he's huge for Spurs and from FBL perspective, obviously you
- 9:08Speaker 2: can't do anything ahead of the game against Chelsea on
- 9:11Speaker 2: Thursday evening, but with Werna looking like he's going to
- 9:15Speaker 2: be out of that one, probably because he goes off
- 9:17Speaker 2: on thirty one and It was a very quick decision
- 9:19Speaker 2: to bring him off. It was one of those like
- 9:21Speaker 2: he just goes down and the next thing you know
- 9:23Speaker 2: is being subbed, and it was kind of like, okay,
- 9:26Speaker 2: no real attempt to even continue with the game. Iways
- 9:29Speaker 2: worry a little bit when that happens to players, So yeah,
- 9:32Speaker 2: we'll see. I think that probably makes for Charlison a
- 9:35Speaker 2: really really nice option again heading forward with Spurs if
- 9:38Speaker 2: you are thinking about how you are investing money, if
- 9:41Speaker 2: you want to take some money back out of that
- 9:42Speaker 2: midfield to whenever you to get back to an as
- 9:44Speaker 2: on midfielder, which some managers might be wanting to do.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Now, yeah, watching that going, you know, why did I
- 9:49Speaker 1: sell both of them? Forget the doubles? Is it worth
- 9:52Speaker 1: looking at bringing one back in. I don't think I will,
- 9:54Speaker 1: but I can completely understand why those will look at that. Okay,
- 9:58Speaker 1: let's move. Should we look at this? We've spoken to
- 10:00Speaker 1: Arsenal title challenge. It's so there for them, but they
- 10:04Speaker 1: can't afford to drop a single point and obviously they're
- 10:06Speaker 1: relying on Man City slipping up, which doesn't look like
- 10:09Speaker 1: it's going to happen. But when you watch that first
- 10:11Speaker 1: half of man City versus Forest. It very easily could
- 10:14Speaker 1: have happened in terms of a slip up, because I
- 10:17Speaker 1: thought City were a little bit fortunate, certainly not to concede.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I mean we saw a fair few chances for Forest.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Chris would guilty of missing a few big ones. I
- 10:26Speaker 1: guess the headlines from the game other than those chances
- 10:28Speaker 1: missed from Forest were Harlan backfit. Great. Good to know
- 10:33Speaker 1: Foden missed the match through illness, but you would think
- 10:36Speaker 1: through illness. We saw Palmer missing a match through illness
- 10:38Speaker 1: a couple of games ago and then back, so likely
- 10:41Speaker 1: Foden not out too long and back next time out.
- 10:44Speaker 1: But also we saw the Edison injury. I bought Edison
- 10:47Speaker 1: in on wildcard now with thirty seven in mind, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: now I'm not going to have to sell him. I
- 10:52Speaker 1: think if that's it doesn't look good. We saw postmatch
- 10:54Speaker 1: pictures of him in a sling. I think Pep was
- 10:56Speaker 1: quoted saying it doesn't sound or look great. Tager can
- 11:00Speaker 1: obviously come in and with that is an opportunity to
- 11:02Speaker 1: save some money because you're selling Edison, who's five million
- 11:05Speaker 1: plus and you're potentially replacing him with the new man
- 11:08Speaker 1: city number one in Ortega, who's three point seven millions.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So I guess every cloud has a silver lining there
- 11:15Speaker 1: if I do make the move.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Edison brought him by over one hundred and sixty
- 11:19Speaker 2: seven thousand managers last week, and only Petrovich if the
- 11:23Speaker 2: goalkeepers actually had more new managers heading into this one
- 11:26Speaker 2: than Edison did. And honestly, Jenney, I think he was
- 11:29Speaker 2: a really goodbye. Like I sat on the Fantasy Show
- 11:32Speaker 2: last week and we spoke about Edison, and I was
- 11:34Speaker 2: looking at him, thinking, sometimes it's quite hard, isn't it
- 11:38Speaker 2: with the defenders to work out where you go, particularly
- 11:41Speaker 2: when there were good options from some other teams, but
- 11:44Speaker 2: also some terrible kind of fixtures coming out for some
- 11:47Speaker 2: teams that you maybe want to be investing in, And
- 11:49Speaker 2: it was quite difficult, I think, with the defenders to
- 11:50Speaker 2: work out where you would go. But Edison felt like
- 11:53Speaker 2: a really nice opportunity to invest in a player that
- 11:57Speaker 2: you didn't have to necessarily play every week if you
- 11:59Speaker 2: didn't want to. But you know, when you're talking about
- 12:01Speaker 2: the Man City goalkeeper, you probably are talking about playing
- 12:03Speaker 2: them every week, but also like you say, have them
- 12:06Speaker 2: in that double in game week thirty seven, which feels
- 12:09Speaker 2: like a great opportunity. Now it does still feel to
- 12:12Speaker 2: me like a good opportunity. Or Tager I thought did
- 12:14Speaker 2: well when he came on. You know, he's a really
- 12:17Speaker 2: good understudy. Like it's not it's not going to weaken
- 12:19Speaker 2: Manchester Cities offensively having or Tager there instead of Edison.
- 12:23Speaker 2: But I think from an FPL perspective, it's just a frustration,
- 12:26Speaker 2: isn't it If you've bought in Edison this week? I mean,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I guess the thing is you don't have to make
- 12:30Speaker 2: that transfer straight away because you will have another goalkeeper
- 12:33Speaker 2: having just world card, and it's not like you're going
- 12:35Speaker 2: to have a non playing goalkeeper in your second goalie slot.
- 12:38Speaker 2: So you potentially can afford to wait a week and
- 12:41Speaker 2: do it ahead of game week thirty seven if you
- 12:43Speaker 2: wanted to, and that might give us a bit more
- 12:45Speaker 2: understanding about Edison. But like you say, seeing him in
- 12:48Speaker 2: a sling and hearing Pep saying that it doesn't look
- 12:50Speaker 2: good after the game makes you think that we potentially
- 12:52Speaker 2: might not see him again. And therefore, at three point seven,
- 12:56Speaker 2: or Tager feeling like a really nice cheap route into
- 13:00Speaker 2: the Manchester City defense.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a hard one for me. I thought, if
- 13:04Speaker 1: I do go without Edison, I could replace him with
- 13:07Speaker 1: a non man City player, which then allows for Kevin
- 13:09Speaker 1: de Bruyner on a Man City triple attack. I've got
- 13:11Speaker 1: Harlan and Foden already. And it was de Bruner my
- 13:14Speaker 1: biggest headach on Wildcard. It was Bruno or de Bruyner,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and I went Bruno. But having watched de Breuner against
- 13:19Speaker 1: Forest again, he's just so effective in picking up creative
- 13:23Speaker 1: points through assists and through bonus points. And again we
- 13:26Speaker 1: saw that a couple of assists always does well in
- 13:29Speaker 1: the bonus points to Bruner, whether he's returning or not.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And I'm watching that game thinking, oh, de Bruyner in
- 13:34Speaker 1: double game week thirty seven, if you're looking for a differential,
- 13:37Speaker 1: if you had the funds available, he's a really nice option.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I guess we should talk a little bit about Forest
- 13:42Speaker 1: because they were good value, so unfortunate for them again
- 13:48Speaker 1: not picking up any points. But what did you make
- 13:50Speaker 1: of Chris Wood because he's been so so effective under
- 13:53Speaker 1: the new manager, under Nuno, he's been so clinical in
- 13:56Speaker 1: front of goal. He's been the perfect number nine pretty
- 13:59Speaker 1: much in the target every time. I think he's had
- 14:02Speaker 1: a shot success rate of over sort of thirty five
- 14:05Speaker 1: percent in terms of scoring. But Chris Wood was poor.
- 14:10Speaker 1: He missed a couple of sitters, didn't he. I think
- 14:12Speaker 1: his EXG was zero point ninety four in that game. Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It was the top top exty underperformer of the game
- 14:17Speaker 2: week for Chris Wood this week, and it was one
- 14:19Speaker 2: of those weeks, wasn't it for him? You just thought
- 14:22Speaker 2: that nothing was quite going to go right for him.
- 14:25Speaker 2: But Nottingham Forest. I mean at the end of that
- 14:27Speaker 2: first half, if you'd have said to me, Nottingham Forest
- 14:29Speaker 2: are winning this game one nil, that would have been
- 14:32Speaker 2: a reasonable reflection on the game. Nottingham Forest were good.
- 14:35Speaker 2: They could easily have taken their chances. It's just that
- 14:38Speaker 2: they didn't in this one. Morgan Gibbs Why. It's also
- 14:41Speaker 2: been outstanding in recent weeks. So in the sixth prior
- 14:43Speaker 2: to this one, he'd had sixteen goalscoring opportunities in the
- 14:47Speaker 2: last six matches, which you know is really excellent given
- 14:51Speaker 2: where we were with Nottingham Forest a few months ago
- 14:54Speaker 2: before the arrival of Nuno. And in that time he's
- 14:57Speaker 2: had five big chances as well, picking up three assists.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Now in this one he had did a further chance
- 15:03Speaker 2: created against Manchester City on Sunday, So that's seventeen now
- 15:07Speaker 2: and seven for him and only eight players have been
- 15:09Speaker 2: more creative in that period of time than Morgan gives
- 15:12Speaker 2: white hats. So I think you know most managers and
- 15:15Speaker 2: it's the same all the time, isn't it Like when
- 15:18Speaker 2: you get to this point of the season and you've
- 15:20Speaker 2: got three game weeks left to go, and one of
- 15:22Speaker 2: them is a double game week and a double game
- 15:24Speaker 2: week that contains doubles for teams like Manchester City, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea,
- 15:29Speaker 2: Manchester United, the chances are that that is going to
- 15:32Speaker 2: be your tunnel focus because the potential for them to
- 15:36Speaker 2: go massive is there. But then there are teams like
- 15:41Speaker 2: Nottingham Forest who are doing their business really, really nicely.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And I know that they lost in this one, but
- 15:47Speaker 2: they certainly didn't lose badly. They could have and maybe
- 15:51Speaker 2: should have got something out of this game. It's just
- 15:53Speaker 2: man City. They are such a well oiled machine, aren't
- 15:55Speaker 2: They know exactly how to get what they need out
- 15:57Speaker 2: of the game. And I take what you say about
- 16:00Speaker 2: about Kevin De Bruyn. He's a phenomenal asset, but I
- 16:03Speaker 2: don't think he's quite as good when Foden is on
- 16:05Speaker 2: the pitch, And that's what kind of put me off
- 16:07Speaker 2: the double up of the two midfielders, because you never
- 16:11Speaker 2: really know where they're going to play, how they're going
- 16:14Speaker 2: to play together, if Harlan's there, what impact that's going
- 16:17Speaker 2: to have on their positioning on the pitch. So I
- 16:20Speaker 2: find it quite difficult with kdbing with Foden then earlier
- 16:24Speaker 2: on this season, So this is the first time I've
- 16:26Speaker 2: owned Phil Foden and he was ill for it because
- 16:29Speaker 2: earlier on in this season I had the straight choice
- 16:31Speaker 2: between Foden and De Bruyne, and it was when De
- 16:34Speaker 2: Bryn was just coming back from his injury, and he
- 16:36Speaker 2: came on and he was phenomenal in that last twenty minutes.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And he scored a couple, din't he That's right?
- 16:42Speaker 2: And Foden was much more heavily owned, of course, because
- 16:44Speaker 2: KDB had been that injured, and I was like, right,
- 16:46Speaker 2: here's an opportunity, his opportunity to go for Kevin, who
- 16:50Speaker 2: is a tried and tested fpil asset. It's coming back
- 16:53Speaker 2: from injury looks like a really nice option, and Foden
- 16:56Speaker 2: just bit me every single week. It was just one
- 16:59Speaker 2: decision after another after another after another, and so this
- 17:02Speaker 2: time I was like, I have to have Foden and
- 17:05Speaker 2: I didn't expect him. I don't think any of us
- 17:07Speaker 2: did to miss this one, because you know, he was
- 17:09Speaker 2: fully fair of firing on Thursday evening when we watched
- 17:11Speaker 2: him play against Brighton, and with an illness, obviously we
- 17:15Speaker 2: would expect him to be back for game week thirty six.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So I'm not overly concerned about Foden. I think the
- 17:20Speaker 2: question is do double up on the middle, or now
- 17:23Speaker 2: that we're starting to see some clean sheets from Manchester
- 17:25Speaker 2: City as we have against Brighton and now against Forest,
- 17:28Speaker 2: should we be looking at an Ortaga or a Vardil
- 17:32Speaker 2: who just seems to be on goal scoring form right
- 17:34Speaker 2: now in both the Champions League and in the Premier League,
- 17:37Speaker 2: or Walker who's regularly picking up at sis points. Again,
- 17:40Speaker 2: now it's a difficult dynama. I think it's how to
- 17:43Speaker 2: travel up with City.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no doubt in my mind you want three.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It's just what three Because as you say, we haven't
- 17:49Speaker 1: always this season gone for their defenders because there's a
- 17:52Speaker 1: lack of upside and clean sheets haven't always been guaranteed.
- 17:56Speaker 1: We're seeing the clean sheets now, but then when we
- 17:58Speaker 1: look at ceiling, that combination of of owning triple attack
- 18:01Speaker 1: feels so so fun for the last few game weeks.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'm with you, though Foden and de Bruyn are the
- 18:05Speaker 1: same team, you do lose a little something. I wonder
- 18:09Speaker 1: if you lose it more with Foden than de Bruyner.
- 18:11Speaker 1: When I watched them both, it kind of feels like, okay,
- 18:14Speaker 1: when they're in the team together, Foden is sacrificed out
- 18:18Speaker 1: wide and de Bruyne still gets to be the main
- 18:20Speaker 1: man against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final a
- 18:23Speaker 1: couple of weeks back. You know they've played both centrally
- 18:26Speaker 1: the prepared it's the two number tens, which you haven't
- 18:28Speaker 1: seen that much. But when they play in that position
- 18:31Speaker 1: together again, everything is going through de Bruyner and it's
- 18:34Speaker 1: Foden still who feel sacrificed in terms of time on
- 18:37Speaker 1: the ball. I never feel like de Bruyne's sacrificed in
- 18:41Speaker 1: any way, shape or form when he's on the pitch,
- 18:43Speaker 1: and that's why I think he's such a good asset
- 18:45Speaker 1: if you can afford him speaking a good asset, Sam,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I speak about wild card and kind of a few
- 18:50Speaker 1: things that went wrong, but one thing that went right
- 18:54Speaker 1: was the combination of Gordon and Esak. What I mean,
- 18:58Speaker 1: especially when they play at home. A couple of weeks
- 19:01Speaker 1: back they beat they beat Spurs four hill at home
- 19:03Speaker 1: and it was those two that combined.
- 19:05Speaker 2: So so well.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Spurs at home. So then they go
- 19:09Speaker 1: away from home and I think they're both blank. And
- 19:11Speaker 1: then again at the weekend they're at home again against
- 19:13Speaker 1: Sheffield United. They don't put four goals on the table
- 19:15Speaker 1: this time they put five and Gordon and Esak combined
- 19:18Speaker 1: for twenty three points. It's a common theme at home.
- 19:22Speaker 1: These two combined so well and just are so so consistent.
- 19:26Speaker 1: The slight issue with Newcastle now is from the four
- 19:29Speaker 1: remaining games, only one of them is at home. They
- 19:32Speaker 1: do go away to Burnley, Man United and Brentford and
- 19:34Speaker 1: they've got Brighton at home. So on paper they're all
- 19:36Speaker 1: four are good fixtures, but you just know the points
- 19:39Speaker 1: away from home aren't quite as consistent. But Gordon and Esak,
- 19:43Speaker 1: I love them both and We're really worried with e
- 19:46Speaker 1: Sak picking him. Anyone that picks Esak goes or will
- 19:49Speaker 1: he get injured or at some point will will he
- 19:52Speaker 1: get reduced minutes because Wilson's around. But at the moment,
- 19:55Speaker 1: when you look at his minutes in the last few games,
- 19:57Speaker 1: he's just been playing huge sets of ninety. I think
- 20:00Speaker 1: he's on one, two, three, four, five, six, seven sets
- 20:03Speaker 1: of ninety in the last seven games. You cannot complain
- 20:07Speaker 1: with that form. And then Gordon, obviously he's so so cheap,
- 20:10Speaker 1: but also he's got that great incentive for an England
- 20:13Speaker 1: call up this summer. He's got a very good chance
- 20:15Speaker 1: of getting it, and he's playing the best football's career.
- 20:17Speaker 2: It's got to be on the plane for me. Anthony Gordon,
- 20:19Speaker 2: he's playing so well at the moment. Yeah, Gordon and Esak.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I've had Gordon for most of the season. Now I've
- 20:27Speaker 2: really enjoy owning him. He is one of those players
- 20:29Speaker 2: that you just consistently can rely upon, particularly at Saint James's. Now,
- 20:35Speaker 2: what I've kind of done over the last few weeks
- 20:37Speaker 2: and months, he's just benched him when he's gone away
- 20:39Speaker 2: from home because I'm never really that afraid of benching
- 20:42Speaker 2: a massive haul because the way that he's played away
- 20:44Speaker 2: from home hasn't been quite well, it hasn't been anywhere
- 20:47Speaker 2: near the form as you say that he's had at
- 20:49Speaker 2: home this season. But that's quite nice because at the
- 20:52Speaker 2: moment where we've all sold Salah and other big assets,
- 20:55Speaker 2: there isn't so much of a really really cheap forward
- 21:01Speaker 2: player in the game that we can bench every week.
- 21:03Speaker 2: You know, in the past, we'd have to have somebody
- 21:05Speaker 2: like a Cameron Archer or somebody that you know, you
- 21:08Speaker 2: couldn't necessarily rely on week upon week to get the start,
- 21:11Speaker 2: whereas right now, all eight of our front a you
- 21:13Speaker 2: are no pretty much a're going to start every week
- 21:16Speaker 2: unless they're ill like Foden was this time around, and
- 21:18Speaker 2: then you're going to need your spare. But Anthony Gordon,
- 21:21Speaker 2: for me, is just one of those players that he'd
- 21:24Speaker 2: be in my Team of the Season from an FL perspective,
- 21:26Speaker 2: because I just think he has been phenomenal and esac
- 21:29Speaker 2: to that since he's come back from injury, he's not
- 21:30Speaker 2: blanked at home. He's been just phenomenal. And like you say,
- 21:34Speaker 2: this time last year, if you remember, we were all
- 21:36Speaker 2: having the do you go Esset, do you go Wilson?
- 21:38Speaker 2: Who's going to get the minutes, who's going to get
- 21:39Speaker 2: the goals? And it was decisive, wasn't it at the
- 21:41Speaker 2: end of the.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Season season that did I went Wilson and it was
- 21:44Speaker 1: It was a huge call because Esack was a popular choice,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but Wilson got the points.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I did exactly the same thing, and I when
- 21:50Speaker 2: I was bringing in Esack this week, I was thinking
- 21:52Speaker 2: to myself, goodness is again, this is the total reverse
- 21:55Speaker 2: of what I did last time around because I went
- 21:57Speaker 2: for Wilson and he fundamentally change the outcome of my
- 22:00Speaker 2: season because he was so lowly owned. The boost was
- 22:03Speaker 2: there now even with Gordon and he said, they're still
- 22:05Speaker 2: not that highly owned these two. It's phenomenal to me
- 22:08Speaker 2: that they aren't. And you are right. In the games
- 22:11Speaker 2: that they have left, they only have that one home
- 22:13Speaker 2: fixture and that does make you kind of question, well
- 22:18Speaker 2: is it worth it? But for me, with the form
- 22:19Speaker 2: that they're in, it doesn't mean they're not going to
- 22:21Speaker 2: return points away from home. It just means they're less
- 22:24Speaker 2: likely to haul That's what we've seen so far. And
- 22:27Speaker 2: I don't I don't worry too much about the return
- 22:29Speaker 2: of Callum Wilson. I think Eddie Howe will ease him
- 22:32Speaker 2: back in massively because we've seen such problematic injuries for
- 22:35Speaker 2: Callum Wilson over the last year or so that rushing
- 22:39Speaker 2: him back when you don't need to because you've got
- 22:42Speaker 2: Esak in such good form does doesn't feel like it's
- 22:44Speaker 2: worth it.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Yeah, away from home, I think Gordon's only had that
- 22:47Speaker 1: one haul this season, but it was against Sheffield United
- 22:50Speaker 1: on the road. He got twelve points. They won eight
- 22:53Speaker 1: mierl that day. But so going to a team like
- 22:56Speaker 1: Burnley who will come out and play a bit and
- 22:57Speaker 1: there'll be lots of space, maybe we see that again Gordon.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Even away from home. Newcastle defense was an interesting choice
- 23:04Speaker 1: for those on world card because I think everyone went
- 23:06Speaker 1: there and there there were some that perhaps didn't go
- 23:10Speaker 1: Gordon and e Sachs, so they could go double Newcastle
- 23:12Speaker 1: defense because you know, affordable assets in the likes of
- 23:15Speaker 1: Share Liverimento dan Byrne. The fixtures are there and they'd
- 23:18Speaker 1: started keeping clean sheets. Didn't keep a clean sheet to
- 23:21Speaker 1: Sheffeld United and Share going off injured. We won't get
- 23:25Speaker 1: a huge amount. I don't think from Eddie Howe on
- 23:27Speaker 1: Friday for his press conference, because Eddie Howe is not
- 23:30Speaker 1: one of the managers that gives us a huge, huge steer.
- 23:33Speaker 1: He'll keep his cards close to his chest on that one.
- 23:35Speaker 1: So I think FPR managers like you sound that own
- 23:37Speaker 1: Share will probably have a bit of a decision to
- 23:39Speaker 1: make Willie won'ty. I mean, it's a you kind of
- 23:43Speaker 1: need him available for thirty seven if you've got a bench,
- 23:45Speaker 1: Boos Steel.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's honestly, this is the thing that there's any
- 23:48Speaker 2: most about this week because part of the reason for
- 23:51Speaker 2: going share is this one hundred percent appearance record that
- 23:54Speaker 2: he's had this season. And last week I really wanted
- 23:57Speaker 2: to go for Share, and I just couldn't afford it.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I didn't have the budget because I was I had
- 24:00Speaker 2: to keep Salo and had to keep Darwin, and I
- 24:02Speaker 2: had real problems last week heading into game week thirty four,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and I was thinking my bench is looking weaker than
- 24:08Speaker 2: weak because I had Son sitting there, had Gusto who
- 24:11Speaker 2: then was flagged and obviously wasn't expected to start, and
- 24:14Speaker 2: I was thinking I don't really have oh when I
- 24:17Speaker 2: had lass cells as my other options so I was like,
- 24:19Speaker 2: I've got real problems here and I'd like a new
- 24:21Speaker 2: Castle defender, but the only way to get a new
- 24:24Speaker 2: cast or defender is really to deal with the cells.
- 24:27Speaker 2: And at that point I had the money for Livermento
- 24:29Speaker 2: and liver Amnto alone, and I was like, well, look,
- 24:31Speaker 2: liver Mento came back on last week. He's not probably
- 24:34Speaker 2: going to get ninety minutes, he's probably not going to
- 24:36Speaker 2: get the start most weeks, but he will get some points.
- 24:40Speaker 2: He'll get some appearance points. So last week, when Cole
- 24:43Speaker 2: Palmer didn't turn up, when Harlan didn't turn up, and
- 24:47Speaker 2: I was looking at my team with eleven players, and
- 24:49Speaker 2: I was thinking, at least live Amento, you know, you
- 24:51Speaker 2: come off the bench now. He didn't. Stayed there, sat
- 24:55Speaker 2: on the bench the whole time, and so I was
- 24:57Speaker 2: frustrated with him and was thinking, Okay, I need to
- 24:59Speaker 2: make some choices about what I do with Ivromentto now,
- 25:02Speaker 2: because what I can't do is hold him through thirty
- 25:04Speaker 2: seven because I no longer have the security of at
- 25:07Speaker 2: least there being one or two points him in that
- 25:09Speaker 2: double game week. So I made the decision to go
- 25:12Speaker 2: for share and I did that over Dan Burne. It
- 25:16Speaker 2: was a kind of a choice between the two of them.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It now looks like it might be problematic. It does
- 25:21Speaker 2: seem like it was a tightening of the hamstring as
- 25:23Speaker 2: opposed to a full blown pull, which maybe bodes well.
- 25:29Speaker 2: We'll have to see. I mean, if he doesn't play
- 25:31Speaker 2: in game week thirty six, it's not the end of
- 25:33Speaker 2: the world to me, Like I would obviously like to
- 25:36Speaker 2: have him play against Burnley, but Bernie I've got some grit.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Maybe we'll talk about Bernie in a minute. They've got
- 25:41Speaker 2: bit of fight about them at the moment, trying to
- 25:42Speaker 2: stay in the league. So maybe I'm not so worried
- 25:44Speaker 2: about not having him for thirty six, But I do
- 25:46Speaker 2: as you said, I really need him to be fit
- 25:48Speaker 2: for thirty seven because that bench boost. I can't bench
- 25:51Speaker 2: boost an injured player. So having taken a minus four
- 25:54Speaker 2: for him this week, if he's then not available for
- 25:56Speaker 2: thirty seven, the thought of having to take another minus
- 25:58Speaker 2: four to take him back out again is really not ideal.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's painful, but something we always tend to do
- 26:05Speaker 1: on bench boost to get those fifteen players out. It
- 26:07Speaker 1: feels so important that on those weeks you mentioned Burnley, Sam,
- 26:11Speaker 1: they picked up another point against bang United and they're
- 26:15Speaker 1: definitely fighting for their lives there at the bottom of
- 26:17Speaker 1: the league. But I mean mag United clopped two point
- 26:20Speaker 1: seventy one Xy in that game. So when we look
- 26:23Speaker 1: at that number alone, you go, Okay, Burnley are definitely still,
- 26:26Speaker 1: as we know, a defense we can target, which bodes
- 26:29Speaker 1: well for those on Newcastle attackers next week. But who
- 26:33Speaker 1: impressed me the most? I mean Anthony got the goal,
- 26:37Speaker 1: and Anthony, I know, has had a huge amount of criticism,
- 26:39Speaker 1: But when you look at the pure numbers and you
- 26:40Speaker 1: look at the stats, no player in the league this
- 26:44Speaker 1: weekend had more attempts than Anthony. He copped eight attempts.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I think Cody Gapo eight as well, and then we
- 26:50Speaker 1: had a few like Garnatt show and Palmer on six,
- 26:53Speaker 1: and then a handful of players on five attempts. But
- 26:55Speaker 1: Anthony is a greedy option and in FPL we historically
- 26:59Speaker 1: like greedy players. Now, am I be lining to go
- 27:02Speaker 1: and by Anthony, no, I'm not. But if you are
- 27:04Speaker 1: looking for a differential with a doublin thirty seven in midfield,
- 27:08Speaker 1: then maybe he becomes a really outside of the box option.
- 27:12Speaker 1: You're looking for someone that no one in your mini
- 27:14Speaker 1: leigue has got. I said, similar with Madoweke at Chelsea
- 27:17Speaker 1: last week, like you're going for someone that's really lowly
- 27:20Speaker 1: owned that's actually getting some shots on goal in a
- 27:23Speaker 1: similar way to Madaweke. Anthony is clocking the shot and
- 27:26Speaker 1: now he's getting the minutes. Maybe he's one to consider,
- 27:29Speaker 1: but I mean, Man United still disappoint overall. I guess
- 27:33Speaker 1: the headline for many is Bruno is still looking good
- 27:37Speaker 1: and many went Bruno on wildcard, myself included, so I
- 27:40Speaker 1: was fairly happy that he's still mopped up a couple
- 27:43Speaker 1: of bonus points despite not producing an attack in return.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny because we were watching soccer Sasday come
- 27:49Speaker 2: through on Saturday afternoon and Lee was sat there having
- 27:51Speaker 2: just weld carded like yourself and brought in Bruno Fernandez
- 27:54Speaker 2: and also with Harry Maguire in his starting eleven, so
- 27:58Speaker 2: he was sitting there one no one managed you, I said, thinking, okay, well,
- 28:01Speaker 2: nothing for Bruno, but at least Harry Maguire is going
- 28:04Speaker 2: to get the clean sheet and Onana. I think this
- 28:07Speaker 2: was probably one of his best performances. Of the season.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I was standing.
- 28:11Speaker 2: I was so impressed with him until the eighty seventh
- 28:14Speaker 2: minute where he just he just had a bit of
- 28:16Speaker 2: a moment, didn't he. And so on the TV when
- 28:19Speaker 2: they said, oh, there's a penalty at Old Trafford, Lee's
- 28:21Speaker 2: little eyes were like, yes, Bruno Fernandez, surely, but no.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Not only was it not Bruno Fernandez, but it was
- 28:28Speaker 2: taking away the Manchester United clean sheet. And I think
- 28:31Speaker 2: a lot of managers that went for the likes of
- 28:32Speaker 2: Harry Maguire or Dallo or Onana because the three of
- 28:35Speaker 2: them were quite popular for wild carding players because one,
- 28:38Speaker 2: particularly with Maguire so cheap and has had attacking threat
- 28:42Speaker 2: in the last few weeks. Yeah, it made so much
- 28:43Speaker 2: sense to go for Maguire, particularly if you weren't going
- 28:46Speaker 2: thrown Ana. But Bruno I just thought was excellent. He
- 28:49Speaker 2: was top for chances created across the game week with nine.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Four of those were big chances. He had three attempts
- 28:54Speaker 2: on goal, he put in a crosses, he was on
- 28:57Speaker 2: pieces of course he took three of those. He had
- 28:59Speaker 2: forty five touches in the final third. Only Madawaki, who've
- 29:03Speaker 2: just mentioned a Kulosvski who we just ranted and raved about.
- 29:06Speaker 1: From Spa Raves exactly.
- 29:08Speaker 2: They are the only ones that have more touches in
- 29:10Speaker 2: the final third this week than Bruno Fernandez did. So
- 29:13Speaker 2: it goes to show sometimes that is worth paying that
- 29:16Speaker 2: little bit extra for a player because even when they
- 29:19Speaker 2: don't get an attacking return, they still pick up a
- 29:22Speaker 2: couple of bonus points because their involvement in the game
- 29:24Speaker 2: is so much. And I'm not saying you should make
- 29:26Speaker 2: your FPL decisions based purely on their ability to get
- 29:29Speaker 2: bonus points, because clearly you make your FPL decisions based
- 29:32Speaker 2: upon their opportunities for returns. But Bruno has opportunities to
- 29:36Speaker 2: returns in shed loads because obviously we have penalty responsibilities,
- 29:40Speaker 2: we have set piece responsibilities. His attacking threat from open
- 29:43Speaker 2: players there as well. But the fact that he also
- 29:46Speaker 2: has this underlying bonus point number which continues to tick
- 29:51Speaker 2: over really nicely. It means that he always feels like
- 29:55Speaker 2: he's going to get a bonus point or two even
- 29:58Speaker 2: when the attacking return isn't their So you get the
- 30:01Speaker 2: attack in return and you almost guarantee yourself the three
- 30:03Speaker 2: bonus points for Bruno. So of the two I think
- 30:07Speaker 2: Bruno is a far better, more attractive pick in my
- 30:10Speaker 2: view than ansty Anthony just hasn't had the consistency. Yes,
- 30:13Speaker 2: he played well in this one, but Willy in game
- 30:15Speaker 2: week thirty six Willian thirty seven. For me if I'm
- 30:19Speaker 2: going Manchester United, and I probably will ahead of game
- 30:22Speaker 2: week thirty seven, Bruno will be one that I'll look at.
- 30:25Speaker 2: The defenders, the Maguires, the Dallos will also be want
- 30:29Speaker 2: to look at. And then up top there's Hoyland as
- 30:31Speaker 2: a kind of outside pick because that third forward slot
- 30:34Speaker 2: where I've currently got Mateta, maybe that's an opportunity because
- 30:38Speaker 2: there's money in the bank now from selling Sala. Just
- 30:40Speaker 2: put a little upgrade on there and have a double
- 30:42Speaker 2: game week forward from Manchester United. But the double isn't
- 30:45Speaker 2: particularly lovely, is it.
- 30:47Speaker 1: It's not in Hoyland's not cheap ginaccho is And it's
- 30:50Speaker 1: worth noting Gaynacci show is a nice option in midfield
- 30:53Speaker 1: for those that are looking at a fifth midfielder with
- 30:55Speaker 1: not much money to spend. Perhaps you know Palmer and
- 30:58Speaker 1: Gordon Killy better options, but guy that show even cheaper Bruno.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yeah even hit the post in that game. And here
- 31:03Speaker 1: write out about his creativity for underlying BPS. He's brilliant,
- 31:07Speaker 1: especially when he plays in the number ten role, and
- 31:08Speaker 1: we have seen at times this season Bruno has had
- 31:11Speaker 1: to be a little bit more restrictive and he's been
- 31:13Speaker 1: a bit deeper and ten Haggs played him in the
- 31:15Speaker 1: midfield two that definitely restricts his bonus points potential. Now
- 31:20Speaker 1: he's playing in the number ten and he has been
- 31:22Speaker 1: for a few weeks. Not only do we see the
- 31:24Speaker 1: open place stuff and we're seeing goals and assists, but
- 31:27Speaker 1: his underlying BPS is so much better as well. And
- 31:29Speaker 1: if you're not familiar the bonus points system thirty plus
- 31:33Speaker 1: metrics including stuff like key passes, successful dribbles, tackles, inceptions, blocks,
- 31:39Speaker 1: Bruno is a really good performer in the same way
- 31:42Speaker 1: that De Bruyner is. These guys Trent again bonus point magnets.
- 31:46Speaker 1: They don't actually have to score, get a clean sheet
- 31:48Speaker 1: or an assist to register in the BPS. Yeah. Yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 1: love that Bruno is back and he's still quite cheap. Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I was surprised when I bought Bruno and Worldcard. I
- 31:58Speaker 1: was like, oh, I just expected to be around nine million. No, no, no,
- 32:01Speaker 1: he's almost a million cheaper than that. So fairly happy
- 32:05Speaker 1: with with Bruno at his price point. And you know
- 32:07Speaker 1: you can't compare him like for like with a de
- 32:09Speaker 1: Bruno anymore because there's a couple of million between the two.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Absolutely, And I think the other thing that makes Bruno
- 32:14Speaker 2: an attractive option is that usually by this point in
- 32:17Speaker 2: the season, Bruno Fernandez would be owned by like fifty
- 32:20Speaker 2: sixty percent of the game. We're talking about eighteen eighteen
- 32:24Speaker 2: percent ownership for Bruno, it's not even twenty percent of
- 32:26Speaker 2: the game have him. When you're talking about mini leagues
- 32:30Speaker 2: boosting your overall rank, you're looking for players who have
- 32:35Speaker 2: the opportunity to do something massive for you. And those
- 32:40Speaker 2: players that you want are the kind of the big
- 32:42Speaker 2: game ones. Because you know the likes of Sokker fifty
- 32:44Speaker 2: five percent owned, he's not going to really make much
- 32:46Speaker 2: difference to your rank regardless of what happens over the
- 32:48Speaker 2: next few weeks. Same with Harlan writers sixty one percent,
- 32:52Speaker 2: Captaincy goes on him, Suddenly your rank is not really
- 32:55Speaker 2: being affected by Harlan at all. Even the same with
- 32:57Speaker 2: Cob Harmer, now like, yeah, he was a lovely different
- 32:59Speaker 2: You're for me when I first bought him in Now
- 33:01Speaker 2: at nearly fifty percent ownership, the impact on my rank
- 33:05Speaker 2: is far less than it was two three four months
- 33:08Speaker 2: ago with him. So when you're looking at players like
- 33:11Speaker 2: Bruno Fernandez, like maybe some of the Chelsea boys that
- 33:14Speaker 2: you talked about before, because let's be honest, outside of
- 33:16Speaker 2: col Palm and nobody's very heavily owned at Chelsea, these
- 33:19Speaker 2: are exactly the sort of players that we need to
- 33:21Speaker 2: be looking at heading into the final few weeks of
- 33:23Speaker 2: the season because these are the ones that are gonna
- 33:25Speaker 2: give us some rank boosts. Even Kevin de Bruyn, he's
- 33:28Speaker 2: down there at low level ownership. So when you're talking about,
- 33:34Speaker 2: you know, getting on players, you don't have to take
- 33:36Speaker 2: massive risks and go for out their picks. You can
- 33:40Speaker 2: go for the likes of Bruno Fernandez, Kevin de Bruyn,
- 33:43Speaker 2: Kudoseski from Spurs if you want to, even Richardason from
- 33:46Speaker 2: Spurs now that he's back. These are players that you
- 33:48Speaker 2: would expect to return in the final three weeks of
- 33:51Speaker 2: the season, yet could have an absolutely huge rank game
- 33:55Speaker 2: for you if you go there as well.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I just saw Anthony Gordon's only nineteen percent, which
- 34:00Speaker 1: is spoken about how good he's been and you've been
- 34:02Speaker 1: on him for some time, but still there's so many
- 34:04Speaker 1: that are fairly late to the party. Well it's not
- 34:06Speaker 1: too late. Still go buy him and there's points on
- 34:09Speaker 1: the table. My big differential last week are super Happy Sam.
- 34:13Speaker 1: You know both we both get asked on air quite
- 34:17Speaker 1: often to pick a player and sell that player. So
- 34:19Speaker 1: when you do it and it works when you're on
- 34:23Speaker 1: Premier League TV or Sky Sports News and you get
- 34:25Speaker 1: to big up one player that everyone's looking at, going
- 34:28Speaker 1: why is he pick that player? But you're doing it
- 34:30Speaker 1: because they're a differential and you like the look of them.
- 34:32Speaker 1: When I went mad Awake on Sky Sports News at
- 34:35Speaker 1: the weekend, I could see people tweeting, what's this guy on?
- 34:39Speaker 1: About zero point two percent? Owned? Chelsea are rubbish? He's
- 34:44Speaker 1: five point three million. Why would you pick Madawake? But
- 34:47Speaker 1: recently he has caught the eye and if you're a
- 34:49Speaker 1: Chelsea fan you've watched them closely, you go, he's now
- 34:52Speaker 1: getting game time or pretty much he's nailed because of
- 34:56Speaker 1: the Enzo injury. It means Gallagher plays in the midfield too.
- 34:59Speaker 1: It means Arma then plays the number ten role and
- 35:02Speaker 1: that that right hand side of Cole Palmer is now
- 35:04Speaker 1: a vacant spot. Well, Sterling hasn't exactly been covering himself
- 35:08Speaker 1: in glory in recent months, and Madawake was given the
- 35:10Speaker 1: chance by Potch And yeah, Madawake is super impressive against
- 35:14Speaker 1: aston Villa. Got a goal, got an assist, got some
- 35:16Speaker 1: bonus points. If you're looking to spend around five million
- 35:20Speaker 1: in the midfield and you want someone that should play
- 35:24Speaker 1: in the run in, should play all the games in
- 35:25Speaker 1: the run in, got the double game week coming up
- 35:27Speaker 1: in thirty seven. Outside of Cole Palmer, there is one
- 35:30Speaker 1: or two others at Chelsea that can catch her eye,
- 35:32Speaker 1: and Medawak is definitely one of them.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I asked a bit when I heard you say that.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I was like, right, this about is this the Chelsea
- 35:40Speaker 2: fan in him? Or is this a genuinely good option?
- 35:43Speaker 2: And I'll be honest, I was.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I mean I'd gone from Atteta the week before and
- 35:48Speaker 2: was thrilled about that one, but this one's gone just
- 35:50Speaker 2: as well so far. I think for me, this game
- 35:53Speaker 2: was really interesting. It was a game that I expected
- 35:56Speaker 2: at aston Villa to wipe the floor with Chelsea. If
- 35:59Speaker 2: I'm want because Aston Villa at home are so good
- 36:02Speaker 2: and the first half did kind of go that way.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Aston Villa were firmly on the driving seat, they just
- 36:08Speaker 2: seem to ease off, and in their easing off, which
- 36:11Speaker 2: maybe coincided with Martinez going off through injury. And it's
- 36:14Speaker 2: not like they had a terrible goalkeeper coming into a
- 36:17Speaker 2: place in in Olsen, because Olsen's a good goalkeeper in
- 36:19Speaker 2: his own right. But there's something about losing that leadership,
- 36:22Speaker 2: isn't there, and particularly when they've been without the likes
- 36:24Speaker 2: of Conza and Mings for so long this season, that
- 36:27Speaker 2: when you lose that leadership from the back, you do
- 36:29Speaker 2: always kind of worry about how that's going to look.
- 36:32Speaker 2: And I remember saying as watching Olson come out, this
- 36:35Speaker 2: will be really interesting for Villa now because it'll be
- 36:38Speaker 2: interesting to see how they are managed to defend against
- 36:40Speaker 2: a Chelsea team that we know can attack.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Chelsea.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I've got their defensive weaknesses, but going forward they can
- 36:45Speaker 2: be a good attacking unit, as they proved in this
- 36:48Speaker 2: second half. And I don't know, as somebody who had
- 36:52Speaker 2: not captain Cole Palmer, I watched this game and there
- 36:55Speaker 2: was a moment towards the end of the game where
- 36:57Speaker 2: he was through on goal and Olsen saved it, and
- 37:00Speaker 2: I had my head like behind my hands, thinking this.
- 37:05Speaker 1: You knew his effective ownership was gonna was going to
- 37:08Speaker 1: get you there. It was like at my rank, I
- 37:10Speaker 1: think he was like one hundred and seventy percent effective ownership,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and he was slaloming through. He did all the hard
- 37:14Speaker 1: bits and then he just fired straight at Olson.
- 37:17Speaker 2: One hundred percent. And in my head I was thinking
- 37:20Speaker 2: Palmer will return at Stamford Bridge, because I mean, that's
- 37:23Speaker 2: that goes together, like I don't know, Toast and jam
- 37:26Speaker 2: or something, doesn't it Palma and Stanford Bridge returns. So
- 37:28Speaker 2: in my head, I was thinking, I have to survive
- 37:31Speaker 2: the Saturday evening game without Palmer returning because I know
- 37:34Speaker 2: he's going to hurt me. And then I have to
- 37:36Speaker 2: hope that Sun gets something in the home game against Arsenal,
- 37:39Speaker 2: because if that happens, I'm in the driving seat head
- 37:41Speaker 2: of this Thursday one and maybe they level out on
- 37:43Speaker 2: Thursday night. We'll find out when we get to that one.
- 37:47Speaker 2: But I don't know how he didn't return. And there
- 37:50Speaker 2: were a number of moments I thought Madawaki was actually excellent.
- 37:53Speaker 2: He had some moments of a bit of petulance where
- 37:55Speaker 2: I was thinking, you know, the yellow cards could be
- 37:57Speaker 2: a bit of an issue in the final few weeks
- 37:59Speaker 2: the season. But you know, Chelsea did look they look
- 38:03Speaker 2: so much better in that second half. It's just whether
- 38:05Speaker 2: we can have that consistency now. Beously, Gusto missed out
- 38:08Speaker 2: this time around, so be interesting to see. I'm not
- 38:11Speaker 2: expecting him to play on Thursday evening either, given what
- 38:14Speaker 2: what said in the pre matches press conferences last week.
- 38:18Speaker 2: But did you hold him on wild card. Are you
- 38:21Speaker 2: expecting to see him for the final weeks of the season.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we'll see Gusto back. But I mean
- 38:26Speaker 1: it was a difficult decision for those that wanted to
- 38:28Speaker 1: go triple Chelsea because it was finding three good assets.
- 38:31Speaker 1: And if you're looking at the back line, I mean
- 38:33Speaker 1: some went Petrovich for save points, Gusto what was clearly
- 38:37Speaker 1: the best of the starting defenders. For any upside, I
- 38:40Speaker 1: went Mark co Corella. I mean, I don't rate co
- 38:42Speaker 1: Corella as a player. Potch likes him. He plays him
- 38:45Speaker 1: at left back, He's played ninety the last handful of games.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Chilwell is out injured and even when Chilwell is fit,
- 38:51Speaker 1: I think we'll see Chilwell's appearances come on and play
- 38:53Speaker 1: left wing, which we've seen in recent weeks. So Co
- 38:56Speaker 1: Corrella to get an own goal four minutes in, I
- 38:58Speaker 1: was just like, oh, what a rubbish outcome. He's there
- 39:01Speaker 1: purely and the chance of getting lucky for a goal
- 39:03Speaker 1: or an assist, and he did actually register a few
- 39:06Speaker 1: chances created, including one where we tied up Nicholas Jackson
- 39:09Speaker 1: for a header from a couple of yards out and
- 39:11Speaker 1: Jackson hit the post. Now I own both those guys.
- 39:14Speaker 1: That would have been a lovely differential combination. I mean,
- 39:17Speaker 1: who who's cheering on a co Corella assist Jackson goal? Well,
- 39:20Speaker 1: I bias Chelsea fan actually was and it is worth
- 39:23Speaker 1: noting that Jackson will get his criticism, but I still
- 39:26Speaker 1: think is a good own for the run in because
- 39:29Speaker 1: he's getting minutes and chances. Now we know he's not
- 39:32Speaker 1: official in front of goal, but you don't always have
- 39:34Speaker 1: to be. If he gets enough chances, he will score
- 39:36Speaker 1: some goals and you could argue. Rather than purely poor
- 39:40Speaker 1: finishing against Villa, which has been the case a lot
- 39:43Speaker 1: this season for Jackson, he was actually a little bit
- 39:45Speaker 1: unfortunate hitting the post with a header. The one on
- 39:48Speaker 1: one which he's tucked away nicely in the first half
- 39:50Speaker 1: was marginally offside and var rightly ruded offside. But Jackson's
- 39:55Speaker 1: getting close and I don't think he's necessarily a bad own,
- 39:58Speaker 1: despite of course not being a clinical finisher. But as
- 40:01Speaker 1: I mentioned, I don't think he necessarily always has to be.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it was a bit of a It
- 40:08Speaker 2: was a difficult decision, I think for a lot of
- 40:10Speaker 2: managers on wildcard, because a lot of managers were selling
- 40:12Speaker 2: Darwin Nunas, who had been struggling for returns in the
- 40:15Speaker 2: weeks leading up to game week thirty four and obviously
- 40:18Speaker 2: wasn't consistently getting those, only to then have replaced him
- 40:22Speaker 2: with Nico Jackson, who again felt really frustrating. Yeah, that
- 40:26Speaker 2: would have felt really frustrating watching him against Villa. But
- 40:29Speaker 2: I think, you know, moving into the final weeks of
- 40:31Speaker 2: the season, Chelsea's fixtures are nice and so there should
- 40:34Speaker 2: be plenty of opportunity for returns for the likes of
- 40:37Speaker 2: career in Niko Jackson. If you went there and if
- 40:39Speaker 2: you have held onto Darwin Nuna's and maybe this is
- 40:41Speaker 2: a nice segue into just having a quick conversation about Liverpool,
- 40:44Speaker 2: because well, it was a very very interesting performance, wasn't
- 40:48Speaker 2: it from Liverpool at lunch time? No, Darwin and Salah,
- 40:51Speaker 2: both of them benched, which came as a massive surprise
- 40:54Speaker 2: to me. With Salah, I just did not see that coming,
- 40:58Speaker 2: particularly after what we've seen in the the weeks leading
- 41:00Speaker 2: up to that, with the benching also last week in
- 41:02Speaker 2: game week thirty four as well. I think if you
- 41:05Speaker 2: still have Liverpool assets, given it's a game, it's a
- 41:08Speaker 2: home game against Burs next time. We spoke at the
- 41:10Speaker 2: beginning of this pod about how from set pieces, particularly
- 41:13Speaker 2: from corners, Burs are really really vulnerable. So Trent and
- 41:16Speaker 2: van Dijk maybe a good holds, but I think if
- 41:21Speaker 2: you've got Darwin or you've got Salah, I just can't
- 41:24Speaker 2: see that it's worth spending the level of money that
- 41:26Speaker 2: you have to, particularly on Salah anymore. With the other
- 41:29Speaker 2: options that we have in midfield, particularly with KDB going
- 41:32Speaker 2: off the way that he did in this.
- 41:34Speaker 1: One, feels like it's just time to sell if you
- 41:37Speaker 1: haven't already. I mean, Lewis Diasmin, I look at that
- 41:41Speaker 1: front three is the one that's still getting the start,
- 41:43Speaker 1: and I thought he was the sharpest of the front
- 41:45Speaker 1: three against west Ham and Klopp clearly trusts him at
- 41:48Speaker 1: the moment. You know, he sacrificed Salah and Darwin, but
- 41:51Speaker 1: Diaz still got his spots. So maybe I wouldn't be
- 41:53Speaker 1: selling Diaz but Darwin Salah, yeah, I think I would be.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I mean we saw Gackfo have eight attempts, but this
- 41:58Speaker 1: is the story of Liverpool's last couple of months. Chances
- 42:02Speaker 1: galore and just not effective in front of go I
- 42:04Speaker 1: know they registered too, but for the amount of attempts
- 42:07Speaker 1: we're seeing at Liverpool and years gone by, their conversion
- 42:09Speaker 1: rates so much higher. I mean, Robertson caught the eye again.
- 42:12Speaker 1: You could argue he had sixteen crosses, he created five chances,
- 42:16Speaker 1: he did score. But again west Ham, if you're buying
- 42:18Speaker 1: a Robertson or a trend, it's nice to get those
- 42:21Speaker 1: attack in returns, sure it is, but you need some
- 42:24Speaker 1: clean sheet guarantee and I honestly I can't When did
- 42:27Speaker 1: Liverpool lask keep a clean sheet. It seems like it's
- 42:29Speaker 1: been forever, so there's absolutely no guarantee there. And fair
- 42:33Speaker 1: play to west Ham and Jared Bowen again continues to
- 42:37Speaker 1: be an fpl asset that we overlook because he doesn't
- 42:40Speaker 1: play in a side that creates a ton of chances,
- 42:42Speaker 1: So his underlying numbers are never that great because west
- 42:45Speaker 1: Ham aren't that attacking. But again they don't need to
- 42:48Speaker 1: be because Jared Bowen finds ways of getting goals assists
- 42:51Speaker 1: and with that bonus points thirteen point haul for Bowen
- 42:54Speaker 1: at the weekend, he's produced five attacking returns in his
- 42:57Speaker 1: last four starts, brilliant as set. One note I make
- 43:01Speaker 1: for next season is don't overlook Jared Bowen.
- 43:04Speaker 2: No, just going back to your clean sheets for Liverpool.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Last one was in game week twenty seven. One before
- 43:10Speaker 2: that was in game WE twenty one, So they're not
- 43:12Speaker 2: consistently doing And honestly, I think you know the Spurs
- 43:15Speaker 2: up next, and I'm not just my Spurs fans talking.
- 43:18Speaker 2: I just don't see Spurs not scoring at Anfiord. We
- 43:20Speaker 2: always score on the road at Anfield, So I totally
- 43:23Speaker 2: agree with what you're saying about Robo and Trent. Both
- 43:25Speaker 2: of them look like decent options, particularly against that Spurs defense. However,
- 43:31Speaker 2: you can't spend that level of budget on them on
- 43:33Speaker 2: the basis that you would rather spend it on the
- 43:35Speaker 2: attackers and the clean sheets just aren't there. And as
- 43:38Speaker 2: for Jared Bowen, I've owned him for a lot of
- 43:41Speaker 2: this season for you, dam yeah. I had him right
- 43:43Speaker 2: at the start of the season and owned him for
- 43:46Speaker 2: a lot and he has been phenomenal for me this year.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I took him out when he was injured a few
- 43:51Speaker 2: weeks ago and just haven't been able to tind to
- 43:52Speaker 2: stop to bring him back in. And partly that's been
- 43:55Speaker 2: because he hasn't been consistently fit. He's been kind of
- 43:57Speaker 2: in and out of the team of Lay. Obviously he
- 44:00Speaker 2: played for them in Europe and then missed the next one,
- 44:02Speaker 2: and it feels like it's been a bit of a
- 44:05Speaker 2: difficult time for Jared Bowen's grew injury, but he has
- 44:07Speaker 2: been so impressive over the course of this season and
- 44:11Speaker 2: the next year he will be top of my list
- 44:13Speaker 2: or very near the top of my list of different
- 44:16Speaker 2: midfielders that I'll be looking to go to, because you know,
- 44:19Speaker 2: I think we'll all automatically go, oh, well, I'll need
- 44:21Speaker 2: a soccer and maybe I need a KDB or a
- 44:24Speaker 2: FODE And depending upon how you want to invest in
- 44:25Speaker 2: Man City and in the past it would have been
- 44:28Speaker 2: most sala or we'll see if it still is come
- 44:30Speaker 2: next season. But I think for me Jared Bowen will
- 44:32Speaker 2: be one of those players that I'll be looking at
- 44:34Speaker 2: thinking I want him in my FPL team because even
- 44:37Speaker 2: when west Ham aren't playing great, you can nearly always
- 44:40Speaker 2: rely on Jared Bowen.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Yeah, he always overperforms his expected as well, like he
- 44:44Speaker 1: could score. I remember him scoring a hat trick not
- 44:47Speaker 1: that long ago and the combined XG for that hat
- 44:49Speaker 1: trick was like zero point six or something like what
- 44:52Speaker 1: how is this conversionated? So so good? Really good in
- 44:56Speaker 1: the air as well, Worth noting with his headed goal
- 44:58Speaker 1: again he scores headed goals. He's certainly, you know, not
- 45:00Speaker 1: the tallest shows you don't have to be. In terms
- 45:03Speaker 1: of forwards that didn't score this weekend, Sam, we have
- 45:05Speaker 1: to touch on a couple that many like me sold
- 45:07Speaker 1: on wildcard and were praying that they didn't return because
- 45:10Speaker 1: again the ownership's fairly high. We saw blanks thankfully from
- 45:15Speaker 1: the likes of Solanki and Watkins, so that was a
- 45:17Speaker 1: nice treat at least.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Yeah, as a non Slanki owner for a fair few
- 45:23Speaker 2: weeks now. Since my game Week thirty World Card, he
- 45:25Speaker 2: has been haunting me because every time he's playing, I'm
- 45:28Speaker 2: thinking he looks like he's going to get something. So
- 45:30Speaker 2: I was quite relieved to see him blagged Watkins. Really,
- 45:33Speaker 2: there was one moment towards the end of that game
- 45:35Speaker 2: where I don't know how Watkins didn't score it, because
- 45:38Speaker 2: he has been unbelievable this season. He's one of my
- 45:41Speaker 2: biggest regrets selling Watkins for Darwin on a few weeks ago,
- 45:45Speaker 2: because I did it for all the right reasons, all
- 45:47Speaker 2: the potential upside, but these are exactly the type of
- 45:50Speaker 2: players where sometimes you just have to stop and think.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Because the form that he's had this season, even with
- 45:56Speaker 2: single game weeks, he was and continues to be a
- 45:59Speaker 2: better option than some of our double game we counterparts.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed. We also saw Jordan Pickford needs a shout
- 46:06Speaker 1: out because he is producing points every week. Yeah, eighteen
- 46:10Speaker 1: points in thirty four, ten points in thirty five. This
- 46:13Speaker 1: isn't news to us that Sean Diish teams keep clean
- 46:16Speaker 1: sheets when it matters, and we're going to the business
- 46:19Speaker 1: end of the season for Everton when they really need
- 46:21Speaker 1: to put in one nil wins. They find a way
- 46:24Speaker 1: of doing so. Now, whether you're on a branthway At
- 46:26Speaker 1: Tarkowski or a Pickford, these guys have been efficient sources
- 46:30Speaker 1: of points and dish defenders or dicech goalkeepers. We have
- 46:34Speaker 1: to remember again note to self for next season that
- 46:38Speaker 1: worth investing in.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny, isn't it, Because at the beginning of
- 46:41Speaker 2: last season a lot of managers had Pickford as their goalkeeper,
- 46:43Speaker 2: Pickford and on Nana combination and it didn't start particularly well.
- 46:46Speaker 2: But over the course of this season, Sean Diyche has
- 46:49Speaker 2: improved Everton dramatically defensively as we would expect for one
- 46:53Speaker 2: of his teams and Pickford. Look, I really hope that
- 46:56Speaker 2: we see this Jordan Pickford at the Euros for England
- 46:58Speaker 2: in the summer because the last couple of weeks, I mean,
- 47:01Speaker 2: he was phenomenal for me in game Week thirty four,
- 47:03Speaker 2: one of my highest scoring players. I was so thrilled
- 47:05Speaker 2: with him. Had to bench him this week because I
- 47:07Speaker 2: had Petrovich who had the double and it was a frustration,
- 47:10Speaker 2: but another ten pointer for Pickford. I just think Everton
- 47:14Speaker 2: are one of those teams that also have a lovely
- 47:16Speaker 2: fixture in game week thirty seven, when everyone's bench beat
- 47:18Speaker 2: singing Againt Shefford United, which was my reason for having
- 47:21Speaker 2: Pickford in the first place. So yeah, I think shout
- 47:24Speaker 2: outs Pickford. He's just been great. I'm sorry for benching
- 47:27Speaker 2: you this week.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't believe I've not owned him. I mean,
- 47:31Speaker 1: he's by far the best performing goalkeeper of the season
- 47:33Speaker 1: so far. Final note from me, Sam is just on
- 47:36Speaker 1: the some of the beach teams. I don't know if
- 47:38Speaker 1: on the beach is necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes on
- 47:41Speaker 1: the beach means teams playing with a bit of freedom,
- 47:43Speaker 1: a bit of expression, and they can go out guilt
- 47:46Speaker 1: free and just have a go. And we saw that
- 47:48Speaker 1: with Bournemouth beating Brighton three nil. You know, Bournemouth have
- 47:51Speaker 1: nothing to play for whether or not there on the beach.
- 47:54Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, okay, I can play with a bit
- 47:55Speaker 1: of expression. Crystal Palace last few weeks been doing the same.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Fulham Palace was one all this weekend, but both teams
- 48:01Speaker 1: have been playing well of late. Wolves are another one.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Mid table mediocrity not necessarily a bad thing. They go
- 48:07Speaker 1: and put a win up against Luton. I don't mind
- 48:09Speaker 1: those teams that are often classified on the beach if
- 48:12Speaker 1: it means they're going out there and playing with a
- 48:14Speaker 1: bit of fun.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Agreed. I think there are plenty of options that you
- 48:17Speaker 2: just kind of need to keep your eyes on. Like
- 48:19Speaker 2: as an eight Nori owner, I was disappointed to see
- 48:21Speaker 2: that clean sheet go quite lay on because I was
- 48:24Speaker 2: expecting the clean sheet there. But yes, I think you're right.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I think there are teams like Wolves that you can
- 48:30Speaker 2: stay invested in over the closing weeks of the season.
- 48:33Speaker 2: You don't have to get off them.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Born with Pallas, I'm definitely putting in that bracket too. Well. Sam,
- 48:38Speaker 1: good luck for the next couple of days when you
- 48:39Speaker 1: and I will both be looking at our flagged players
- 48:41Speaker 1: thinking will they won't they? Around share in Edison, but
- 48:44Speaker 1: I expect if we're making transfers this week, it'll probably
- 48:46Speaker 1: be either to roll or to make a transfer on
- 48:49Speaker 1: an injured player.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Absolutely. I think for me the plan is try and
- 48:53Speaker 2: try and roll this week so that we can have
- 48:55Speaker 2: two transfers going into that all important final double in
- 48:58Speaker 2: game week thirty seven, because I need to make sure
- 49:00Speaker 2: that every single player is going to play ahead of
- 49:02Speaker 2: that bench boost.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely my plan to cool right.
- 49:06Speaker 2: So, Game Week thirty five, as we said, is going
- 49:08Speaker 2: to finish on Thursday, and then we were head straight
- 49:10Speaker 2: into Game Week thirty six. The deadline for that one
- 49:12Speaker 2: is going to be on Friday evening, so it's going
- 49:14Speaker 2: to be a very quick turnaround for most of us. Kelly,
- 49:17Speaker 2: Jorge and I'll be back on Thursday with the official
- 49:19Speaker 2: FPL pod. We're going to be talking through our plans
- 49:21Speaker 2: for Game Week thirty six and reviewing how Kelly's wildcard
- 49:24Speaker 2: went now that she's finally played.
- 49:26Speaker 1: It nice well, if you haven't already done so, do
- 49:28Speaker 1: join the FPL Pod League. The code is IB three WLK.
- 49:35Speaker 2: See you next time, everyone, See you later.
