- 0:21Speaker 1: to talk about. It's been a wild week. Soccer's back
- 0:24Speaker 1: as well, Soccer is kicking off, and somehow we ended
- 0:27Speaker 1: up at a pig roast and lawnmower races and I
- 0:29Speaker 1: love potentially even made a new friend at this And
- 0:32Speaker 1: it's pretty crazy to think that summer kind of flew
- 0:36Speaker 1: by so quickly. The voice you're hearing, it's me, it's me,
- 0:39Speaker 1: it's Beard laws enjoining me. This week's avery and either
- 0:45Speaker 1: that's up girls, nothing, nothing, that's a lie. There's so
- 0:50Speaker 1: many things going.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Yeah, we got a lot of things going on to
- 0:54Speaker 3: talk about in this episode.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yes we do, so, I mean we might as well.
- 1:00Speaker 1: We'll talk about it. I mean something club, didn't it,
- 1:03Speaker 1: it's come, it's gone. Temperatures are in the fees already
- 1:06Speaker 1: when we wake up. It's pretty, isn't it.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:09Speaker 1: How do you feel about that? We're in that little
- 1:11Speaker 1: bit of a weather where it's forties by morning, seventy
- 1:14Speaker 1: five by afternoon. You get in the vehicle, you got
- 1:17Speaker 1: to turn the heat on. When you get picked up
- 1:19Speaker 1: after a soccer game or practice, you gotta put the
- 1:20Speaker 1: ac on. It weird time of the year in the
- 1:23Speaker 1: North Country. But yeah, it's it's done. It's over right. Yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 1: last week we did have a very good conversation with Ila.
- 1:31Speaker 1: First week of school all that stuff. So why don't
- 1:33Speaker 1: you do a quick thing. We hadn't talked to you
- 1:35Speaker 1: since your real first week of school. Let's talk tell
- 1:38Speaker 1: us about teachers, friends, lockers, funny moments, anything that happened
- 1:41Speaker 1: with the I guess the first week.
- 1:43Speaker 4: We'll start with teachers. Okay, I have nine different teachers
- 1:48Speaker 4: because I have nine different periods or whatever.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Maybe sure, I look and count to nine.
- 1:55Speaker 4: My home room is English and we speak English and
- 1:58Speaker 4: home room.
- 1:59Speaker 1: That's good.
- 1:59Speaker 4: We just started our unit, and like we went over
- 2:02Speaker 4: the vocabulary and easy stuff like that. We have to
- 2:04Speaker 4: work in like a big book this year.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Do you guys know who in baseball the big unit?
- 2:10Speaker 1: His real name and he was a picture. There's a
- 2:14Speaker 1: cash prize if you can guess it.
- 2:18Speaker 4: I have a question. Do we have a game for today?
- 2:21Speaker 4: We're not there yet.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I was, Okay, you don't win. It's Randy Johnson. We
- 2:27Speaker 1: might have a game. It depends on if we get
- 2:29Speaker 1: to it. Okay, okay, you ask a question while I'm
- 2:32Speaker 1: asking a question. Sheesh, you guys could have want some money.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And then he was the picture that threw really really
- 2:39Speaker 1: hard and one time threw a ball and a bird
- 2:41Speaker 1: flew by and it hit the bird and the bird exploded.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Oh that's so sad. My second period is language, which
- 2:51Speaker 4: you chose. I chose Spanish.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Oh we yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 4: By the way, I have homework for that. I have
- 2:58Speaker 4: to figure out my name in Spanish.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That's your homework.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, okay. In my third period is math, and I'm
- 3:05Speaker 4: in advanced math, and we started working that. I finished
- 3:10Speaker 4: my homer for today, but I'm not going to be
- 3:12Speaker 4: able to tomorrow. My fourth period is a study hall. Fifth
- 3:19Speaker 4: period's lunch, I mean, and it's Advisory'd you say lunch?
- 3:24Speaker 1: What should say it? Like that?
- 3:26Speaker 4: A fifth period social studies so boring. You sit there
- 3:33Speaker 4: and write a bunch of stuff down about so fight.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I don't even understand. Okay, then I have special which
- 3:43Speaker 4: I have ARC first semester and we learned how to
- 3:46Speaker 4: draw the proper way. I like it, like realistic things.
- 3:51Speaker 4: And then we have gym or study hall. Today we
- 3:55Speaker 4: had Jim and we went outside and I played soccer
- 3:58Speaker 4: with Abby Sadie in Bristol.
- 4:01Speaker 1: A couple of girls that should probably play soccer.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah she one of them said that she wanted to
- 4:07Speaker 4: play soccerbout her mama and ladder. Anyways, moving on, and
- 4:11Speaker 4: then I have science Science.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And that happens to be the subject you get to
- 4:15Speaker 1: miss on away games.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, like today.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I love my science teacher.
- 4:21Speaker 1: She's so nice, awesome. I let any updates not in
- 4:24Speaker 1: like full detail, because we talked all about your first day,
- 4:27Speaker 1: first week. Anything in the last day or two happened,
- 4:31Speaker 1: that's crazier. Has it just been pretty good school stuff.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I've started a book. Well, I finished a book and
- 4:38Speaker 3: I started a new one and it was really good.
- 4:41Speaker 3: It's you know, if you guys have ever heard of
- 4:44Speaker 3: The Madic Tree House, it's a really good book.
- 4:46Speaker 4: But they made it in.
- 4:47Speaker 3: A graphic novel form, and I love graphic novels, so
- 4:52Speaker 3: I've been reading those and I finished my graphic novel
- 4:54Speaker 3: in two in one day because we've got thirty minutes
- 4:59Speaker 3: to read. We also I also started a new one
- 5:04Speaker 3: and I'm halfway through it. And it's been two days
- 5:07Speaker 3: since since I've finished my other book yeap like and
- 5:11Speaker 3: started my new book, so together, it's two days.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I like it. And what are you about? To sign
- 5:16Speaker 1: up for basketball?
- 5:19Speaker 4: Yeah? And I also signed up for Makerspace.
- 5:22Speaker 1: That is awesome. I know you're super excited hopefully make
- 5:25Speaker 1: the top twenty, but it's gonna be And I do
- 5:28Speaker 1: want to say that I'm a little bit bommed because
- 5:31Speaker 1: it's your first year potentially. You know, I'm going to
- 5:33Speaker 1: be playing some basketball and I have to coach against
- 5:36Speaker 1: you and we have to beat you up.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Now I'm gonna win.
- 5:39Speaker 1: No, It's gonna be funn either way. But I do
- 5:41Speaker 1: wish that we can make a couple more games, but
- 5:44Speaker 1: we'll figure it out.
- 5:45Speaker 4: If you play against me, well, still cheer for me
- 5:47Speaker 4: in your head.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Sure, I'll always cheer for you, just not out loud.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm not going to be like rooting for you while
- 5:54Speaker 1: I'm coaching the other ones, probably, but if you do
- 5:56Speaker 1: something good, I will be like deal, yep, okay, deal
- 6:01Speaker 1: all right, and soccer seasons are ramping up. What do
- 6:05Speaker 1: you on game We just wrapped up Game three the
- 6:08Speaker 1: time this comes out, we have the big Pirate Bulldog rivalry,
- 6:12Speaker 1: which is gonna be awesome.
- 6:13Speaker 4: It's only rivalry for me.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Well, it's an in house rivalry because Sissy's going to
- 6:17Speaker 1: be on the varsity game and Avery's going to be
- 6:20Speaker 1: playing the same school. It's unfortunate because one, it can't
- 6:24Speaker 1: be in one spot and watch both at the same time.
- 6:26Speaker 4: But not in Hebleton, but you can't in Harsh Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So, but give us a little recap on how you
- 6:32Speaker 1: think your first couple of games are. You know, like
- 6:34Speaker 1: some of your favorite plays, your hardest plays, some funny
- 6:36Speaker 1: moments that either happen on the sideline or practice or something.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Well, the first game, I don't even want to talk
- 6:43Speaker 4: about it.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Mine, you should talk about it. Why was it? Why
- 6:46Speaker 1: do you Why don't you want to talk about it?
- 6:47Speaker 1: Because you didn't win?
- 6:48Speaker 4: No, because it was our first game and it was
- 6:51Speaker 4: just so bad because we've never played together. Yeah, so
- 6:56Speaker 4: it's like, but now we're a lot better.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Already, you're not a lot better. I just think that
- 7:02Speaker 1: you ran into some less talented team. Let's not take
- 7:05Speaker 1: away from the very first team. They were a very
- 7:06Speaker 1: good team. You were getting your feet underway, and you
- 7:10Speaker 1: guys have vastly improved. I don't know, let's not get
- 7:14Speaker 1: ahead of ourselves and think that you're a great team.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You're the best team ever. You guys have improved a lot.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And I'm not only individually. I've seen three to five
- 7:23Speaker 1: kids that have came in a long ways already, but
- 7:25Speaker 1: as a team, starting to put some passes together, putting
- 7:29Speaker 1: some through balls, getting some shots. Once you get stronger,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it's awesome to watch you guys get a little bit better.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I want you to chime in with your soccer snack
- 7:39Speaker 1: sideline review, because I know you're on the sidelines. You're
- 7:42Speaker 1: not really watching games, but you're eating some snacks. What's
- 7:44Speaker 1: been the best snack? Because you went to the tournament
- 7:47Speaker 1: or we went to beaver No, you didn't go to Beavera. Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 1: you went to Beaver River with Grandma in the back,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and you were at aries today. What's been the best snack? Youpad?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Best snack you pad? That's when you're talking to the mic.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I'm trying to remember.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure I had fried breadough on one of
- 8:01Speaker 3: the games, though I swear.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I don't think so, I don't know, but I don't
- 8:08Speaker 1: remember bread dough.
- 8:09Speaker 3: I don't remember any of my other snacks, so probably
- 8:12Speaker 3: just I put I got puffed, puffed, what is it
- 8:18Speaker 3: called cheetos?
- 8:19Speaker 4: That was the best.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Okay, So from now on, when you're at soccert, you're
- 8:23Speaker 1: focusing on soccer and I want snack sideline reviews deal
- 8:27Speaker 1: me today you are sideline snacks from NIMA and you
- 8:31Speaker 1: just so think about that from No One. All right, yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 1: so good. Any funny moments, any sideline moments, anything like
- 8:37Speaker 1: that that really stick out to you.
- 8:38Speaker 4: At the beginning of soccer, no, and Maren scored a goal,
- 8:42Speaker 4: our goalie. She came out of goal and she scored
- 8:45Speaker 4: when she got put on the field. And then at
- 8:48Speaker 4: she goes, how does that go in? And my friend's
- 8:51Speaker 4: sister said, because you shot it, and you shot it
- 8:55Speaker 4: and it went over her head, so it went in
- 8:57Speaker 4: the goal.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I mean that is that's exactly her?
- 9:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but hey, good stuff so far. Looking forward to it.
- 9:05Speaker 1: You know, especially you do play a lot of defense,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and I played defense. Take pride, and when you get
- 9:10Speaker 1: a couple back to back shutouts. That's a good thing.
- 9:14Speaker 1: You know what a shut out is, Isla, No, you
- 9:16Speaker 1: don't know what a shutout is. Do you know what
- 9:17Speaker 1: a goose egg is? It means you hold the team
- 9:20Speaker 1: to no points, you shut them out. They scored zero
- 9:25Speaker 1: goose egg. That's awesome. So good stuff from there, Yeah,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I mean that's pretty good.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Any funny moments or anything with you? All right? So avery, Isla,
- 9:39Speaker 1: we went to a pig roast, something I wanted to
- 9:42Speaker 1: naturally bring up. And it was wild, wasn't it.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So a couple of friends of mine, they have a
- 9:49Speaker 1: little get together where they just invite friends and families
- 9:52Speaker 1: and everything. We get together, hang out, roast up, big brisket,
- 9:57Speaker 1: have all sorts of stuff. Everybody brings a plate to pass,
- 10:00Speaker 1: some desserts, they do, lawnmower races, see houses, all sorts
- 10:05Speaker 1: of stuff. I mean it gets pretty wild, right, yes,
- 10:11Speaker 1: And we've been going for a couple of years. You
- 10:14Speaker 1: guys are you always on your best behavior, which I
- 10:16Speaker 1: really appreciate. And would you guys think Aila, would you
- 10:20Speaker 1: think of the pig roast?
- 10:21Speaker 4: I thought it was fun?
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah, why did you just think it was fun?
- 10:25Speaker 4: I had a lot of fun. I caught a few frogs.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Free frogs, few frogs, few frogs, free frogs.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Few frogs, and it was really fun.
- 10:34Speaker 3: And I went swimming on the pond and I caught
- 10:38Speaker 3: a big frog and it was hurt because a lot
- 10:42Speaker 3: of the other people that I was playing with was
- 10:45Speaker 3: throwing the frogs back in and they didn't care. So
- 10:49Speaker 3: I like climbed down and put them in gently because
- 10:54Speaker 3: they have feelings too.
- 10:56Speaker 4: But I put it in the water. It swim right
- 10:59Speaker 4: back to me.
- 11:00Speaker 3: It really liked me. And there was a kid that went, gush,
- 11:04Speaker 3: come over here.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Look at this.
- 11:06Speaker 3: This girl is like, I've never seen a frog that
- 11:10Speaker 3: calm of the person, because it was in my lap
- 11:13Speaker 3: and it just be like so tired and sleepy, and
- 11:17Speaker 3: it fell asleep in my lap. And they went, what,
- 11:21Speaker 3: I've never seen a frog react that calmly to a human.
- 11:25Speaker 1: It was pretty interesting. You put it up on the
- 11:28Speaker 1: slide and it with chill. It was I've never seen
- 11:30Speaker 1: a frog do that either, did you, Avery, No? It
- 11:33Speaker 1: was interesting, but yeah, it was cool. I'm thankful that
- 11:36Speaker 1: that didn't come home as another pet.
- 11:38Speaker 4: So that's two salamanders.
- 11:41Speaker 1: What about the eu avery? It was kind of something
- 11:42Speaker 1: that really stuck out for you at the pig roast.
- 11:45Speaker 4: The lawn race.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so painte the scene. Paint the picture for anybody
- 11:50Speaker 1: that be like what a lot more race because some
- 11:52Speaker 1: of these people they push mold their lawns. Some of
- 11:54Speaker 1: these people they just get on a lawn more and
- 11:56Speaker 1: cut it. Paint the scene as if you were there.
- 11:59Speaker 4: So it's a The track is like a dirt bike
- 12:04Speaker 4: track where it's like dirt and just in the circle turns.
- 12:10Speaker 1: No ramps and no ramp track.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Just it's flat turns and goes in like an oval shape.
- 12:19Speaker 4: And they're not push mowers. They're like John Deere lawnmowers,
- 12:24Speaker 4: but they're not all John Deere.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And they go slow fast.
- 12:27Speaker 4: There are slow because you mode the lawn the ones
- 12:34Speaker 4: I know usually but they like take stuff out and
- 12:39Speaker 4: they do that and they the grass mowing stuff.
- 12:43Speaker 1: That is called the deck. The deck deck that's gone.
- 12:47Speaker 1: They are not cutting any lawn, are they.
- 12:51Speaker 4: And they run go super fast, well pretty fast, some
- 12:59Speaker 4: of them are. Some of them are quiet. It depends
- 13:02Speaker 4: on the lawnmower. And they try not to get hurt.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Thankfully, that is a thing. Nobody got hurt. They do
- 13:11Speaker 1: and it's it is quite the event. There was a
- 13:13Speaker 1: lot of lawnmowers, wasn't there? How many do you think
- 13:14Speaker 1: there were? Aila? Did guess fifty?
- 13:20Speaker 4: There was thirteen? I counted that's it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I was thinking like twenties, but there were thirteen fifties
- 13:26Speaker 1: close to thirteen? Yes, yes, really interesting. What do you
- 13:31Speaker 1: think of it?
- 13:32Speaker 4: Fifteen fifty? Yeah?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Okay, what'd you think of them?
- 13:35Speaker 3: But I thought it was really cool and I watched
- 13:39Speaker 3: it from when I was swimming in the pond.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Did What did you think was cool about it?
- 13:44Speaker 3: That they were just going so so fast and they
- 13:47Speaker 3: could take like they can go that.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Fast and it's a lawnmower.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Crazy, it's crazy. And they're all wearing.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Helmets and yeah, they're all wearing protective motors cycle helmets
- 14:01Speaker 4: kind of thing braces.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, smart. What else were you saying?
- 14:06Speaker 4: It was very entertaining lawnmower. It's like sometimes they just
- 14:09Speaker 4: go in the circle and they went, but this one
- 14:11Speaker 4: was like an entertaining And what.
- 14:13Speaker 1: They normally do too, is they just kind of have
- 14:15Speaker 1: a couple of different heats, so they might have like
- 14:17Speaker 1: four go and then heat two, four go, then three,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and however many and then they just go and they go.
- 14:24Speaker 1: A lot of them break down and break, don't they. Yeah,
- 14:26Speaker 1: so when they break and this and that, they put
- 14:28Speaker 1: them back on the trailer and they go. But then
- 14:30Speaker 1: what they do is for the final race, they take
- 14:32Speaker 1: the best of the best, all the ones, all the winners.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And it was pretty intense, wasn't it. Yeah, A couple
- 14:38Speaker 1: of couple of lawnmowers on two wheels, a couple one
- 14:42Speaker 1: of my buddies went right into the woods. Just just
- 14:46Speaker 1: a lot of fun.
- 14:47Speaker 4: After you went in the woods, she's like, nah, I'm.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Done, I'm all done here. So now that was that
- 14:53Speaker 1: was awesome. And the food was pretty good as well,
- 14:56Speaker 1: wasn't it, Isla, Yeah, what did you eat there that
- 14:58Speaker 1: you really liked?
- 14:59Speaker 4: Their mini don'nut stores were so good?
- 15:03Speaker 1: So yeah, oh, I mean, let's be honest, you're not
- 15:05Speaker 1: going to a big Rosa party and worrying about how
- 15:08Speaker 1: somebody who made those donuts. They were definitely homemade donuts, right.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yeah, those were not store bought. If they were, they
- 15:13Speaker 3: got them from a bakery.
- 15:15Speaker 1: There were these little homemade donuts. And then the reason
- 15:18Speaker 1: we say, because normally the donuts like they're flat, their circle,
- 15:21Speaker 1: these ones kind of angled down a little bit like
- 15:23Speaker 1: they were in a certain.
- 15:24Speaker 4: The little Boston No.
- 15:26Speaker 1: No, no, I don't think, Avery, I don't think. I don't
- 15:28Speaker 1: know where you were for them. She found them on
- 15:30Speaker 1: a plate and the dessert thing. They were wrapped up
- 15:33Speaker 1: and they were like circles. They all had different frosting
- 15:36Speaker 1: designs and it sprinkles.
- 15:37Speaker 3: They were fantastic, the best thing I've ever laid in
- 15:41Speaker 3: my I.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Was gonna say when they're when she said they're homemade
- 15:45Speaker 4: and they're not a store bought And all I saw
- 15:47Speaker 4: was the minit the Boston creams. I go, wait a minute,
- 15:50Speaker 4: those they are not homemade. I got so like.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I was like, oh my goshes are so good. And
- 15:57Speaker 3: there was only like four left.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I think you had twenty of them.
- 16:01Speaker 4: No, I didn't.
- 16:02Speaker 1: At one. I saw you had a stack of them.
- 16:04Speaker 4: No, I had one the first time.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I'm getting to that and I there was only four,
- 16:10Speaker 3: and I decided, oh my gosh, these are so good,
- 16:13Speaker 3: I might as well take them before before they're gone.
- 16:16Speaker 3: So I stacked three on my plate and I ate them. Well,
- 16:20Speaker 3: you did really stuff that.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You liked da So there was a lot of good
- 16:24Speaker 1: food shout out that everybody that brought something, what do
- 16:25Speaker 1: you think about it?
- 16:26Speaker 4: I liked the taco salad stuff I had so much
- 16:30Speaker 4: that it was like meat, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream. And
- 16:35Speaker 4: then they had tortilla chips on the like the scoop
- 16:39Speaker 4: ones on the side. So I scooped a bunch of
- 16:41Speaker 4: the taco salad and then I put chips on the
- 16:43Speaker 4: side and used the scoop chips to scoop the taco
- 16:45Speaker 4: salad and eat it.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So good, so good, so good. But it is a
- 16:50Speaker 1: pig roast? And was it the first time that you
- 16:51Speaker 1: guys saw a pig had a pig roast?
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah? I think I saw like a glimpse of it
- 16:57Speaker 4: last year, but I didn't see it like that.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Why did you say like that was the first time
- 17:02Speaker 1: you saw pig gross?
- 17:03Speaker 4: I didn't see it.
- 17:03Speaker 1: You didn't see it.
- 17:04Speaker 3: You didn't want I'm too sure I couldn't see it.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I would have seen it, but if I'm too short.
- 17:09Speaker 1: We did not like it so much. Yeah, she was
- 17:12Speaker 1: going to be a vegetarian, I thankfully, in my opinion,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and there's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. But it
- 17:17Speaker 1: did quickly pass, and weve tacos and meat.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Bring back from a few years ago? What did the
- 17:25Speaker 4: poor pig ever do? Then? A few years ago? If
- 17:29Speaker 4: you've seen that, you've seen that, you've.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Seen that, you've seen that. I was in charge of, well,
- 17:33Speaker 1: not in charge of, but I assisted with the shredding.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I did a lot of shredding, didn't I That poor pig.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Was burton black? You shredded a pig?
- 17:41Speaker 1: Shredded a pig? Mean, well you know those like shredder
- 17:46Speaker 1: things that we have the meat, That's what I used
- 17:47Speaker 1: to me. But a four man's squad. We crushed it
- 17:52Speaker 1: as a heck of a squad?
- 17:53Speaker 4: Was it a big pig? How small was it? It
- 17:56Speaker 4: was good, but I couldn't eat it. I just felt
- 17:58Speaker 4: too bad for that dang bit.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Well you know what was already anyways? How big was it? Avery?
- 18:03Speaker 4: It was one hundred twenty five.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Pounds and twenty five pound pig? Good stuff? Fries Come
- 18:11Speaker 1: on Kevin's homemade fries.
- 18:12Speaker 4: They were so good. I didn't try once.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Sadly does the French fry queen?
- 18:19Speaker 4: She didn't go down the food there, bust you just
- 18:21Speaker 4: went to the did. I just didn't think they looked good?
- 18:26Speaker 4: So I didn't try that. And if you see homemade fries
- 18:28Speaker 4: and they don't look good because they don't look good
- 18:31Speaker 4: because they're like golden brown and stuff, but they're actually so.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Good, like five guys fries. Yeah, that's how they were.
- 18:41Speaker 1: But the seasoning, the secret is he uses a special
- 18:44Speaker 1: blend that is a lot. I can't I can never
- 18:47Speaker 1: reveal the secret. I've cooked a lot of French fries
- 18:48Speaker 1: with Kevin, but very good seasoned salt in a little
- 18:52Speaker 1: bit of a mix. It's so good. Shout out to that.
- 18:55Speaker 4: It was.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It was good and overall good times. Thank you for
- 18:58Speaker 1: you guys were on your best behavior.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Did he use those potatoes that were like sitting on
- 19:02Speaker 4: that desk.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you have the potatoes and then he has a
- 19:05Speaker 1: stainless steel cutter, so you just drop the potato and
- 19:08Speaker 1: you pull a lever and they come out with fries
- 19:09Speaker 1: and then they drop into water and then you dry them.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Then you drop them in a grease.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Because I saw a bunch of potatoes and I go,
- 19:15Speaker 4: we they're just we're the potato city hat.
- 19:18Speaker 1: He had a sack of potatoes the size of Ilah
- 19:20Speaker 1: I had.
- 19:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you finish, I go your turn. I bet you
- 19:26Speaker 4: avery did too.
- 19:27Speaker 3: I had a lot of fun playing cops and robbers.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Were a little cranky and not wanting to leave. And
- 19:33Speaker 1: it's funny because the people that you were playing with
- 19:36Speaker 1: are the people that we play with in our backyard.
- 19:38Speaker 1: It's our neighbors and our cousins and our family. But
- 19:41Speaker 1: but we.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Also played with a lot of other people.
- 19:43Speaker 1: But at the end of the night, when you guys
- 19:45Speaker 1: weren't wanting to leave, it's because you were playing with them.
- 19:48Speaker 1: But we don't get to see them a lot, which stinks,
- 19:50Speaker 1: but we're all very, very busy. It is what it is. Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: what else? What else you guys think? Anything else on
- 20:00Speaker 1: on the pig Roast lawnmower race that you thought was fun, funny,
- 20:05Speaker 1: anything you saw that was interesting. Did you think of
- 20:09Speaker 1: the porta potties? Pretty nicest part of potties ever?
- 20:11Speaker 4: They were actually pretty. Those were really nice.
- 20:15Speaker 1: What made it a nice porta potty? Let's hear the
- 20:16Speaker 1: isla porta potty review?
- 20:18Speaker 4: Because it wasn't dirty.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Because I'm going to race this off of my school's
- 20:22Speaker 3: port potty scatching, So there is a little lever that
- 20:29Speaker 3: you pull and it flushes it and you can't see
- 20:34Speaker 3: like you can do whatever you want, like if you need.
- 20:37Speaker 1: To pee or or the other one. Yeah, number two, you.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Can flush it and then nobody can see that you
- 20:44Speaker 4: did it.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah. So what she means is when you normally go
- 20:48Speaker 1: into a porta potty and you look, you try not
- 20:51Speaker 1: to look when it's just an open thing. And I
- 20:53Speaker 1: was even talking with Meg, I'm like, why don't they
- 20:55Speaker 1: make something where it just comes to a side department.
- 20:56Speaker 1: That's what it does, essentially. It comes in here, it
- 20:57Speaker 1: funnels down. You don't see anything but plastic under got
- 21:00Speaker 1: out to that design. That's nice, But it's a trailer.
- 21:03Speaker 1: So it's two of them go up the steps like it's.
- 21:05Speaker 4: And there's a sink and there's a sink.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Yeah, which you came in, got a whole bunch of
- 21:09Speaker 1: soap on your hands the first time, and didn't realize
- 21:12Speaker 1: that the sink was in the middle.
- 21:13Speaker 4: The second time I washed my hand. The first time,
- 21:17Speaker 4: I just left the soap sink in my hands. I
- 21:20Speaker 4: wasn't done with my review yet.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Oh go ahead.
- 21:22Speaker 3: There hasn't been a refill on the hand sanitizer since
- 21:29Speaker 3: three months ago.
- 21:30Speaker 1: It's been longer than that. It's more or less a
- 21:33Speaker 1: vintage piece of that. But that's our reviews. And so
- 21:38Speaker 1: let's bust out the nineties game. If you guys are ready,
- 21:42Speaker 1: Are you ready? You ready? All right? So before there
- 21:46Speaker 1: was TikTok. Have you guys ever heard of that weird
- 21:48Speaker 1: app TikTok? Yeah, you could actually watch music videos sometimes
- 21:54Speaker 1: even at two in the morning, and you would just
- 21:57Speaker 1: hope that your favorite band would could become on what
- 22:01Speaker 1: is it a TV? MTV?
- 22:04Speaker 4: If you had TVs in the nineties, we had TVs
- 22:07Speaker 4: and then they just didn't.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Have a remote that you can like. That's not what
- 22:12Speaker 3: I was done. I wasn't done. They didn't have a
- 22:14Speaker 3: remote that you can like, go to Netflix and you
- 22:16Speaker 3: can pick what movie you're watching. They just had it
- 22:19Speaker 3: turn on channel. If you didn't like it, then turn
- 22:21Speaker 3: off the TV if you like it.
- 22:22Speaker 1: No, we still had cable. You would still click the
- 22:26Speaker 1: channel with the remote. You turn the volume up, you
- 22:29Speaker 1: can still change the channel. You remember the big old
- 22:34Speaker 1: TV that Papa had that weighs like ten pounds with
- 22:36Speaker 1: a huge back to it. Those are the TVs that
- 22:39Speaker 1: we had. There were crtwo TVs.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Yeah, TV looks funny.
- 22:43Speaker 1: MTV music television?
- 22:45Speaker 4: Is it like the TV in pepper Peg.
- 22:47Speaker 1: No, it's not an actual TV. MTV was a station
- 22:50Speaker 1: on TV. It was a channel that actually, so you know,
- 22:53Speaker 1: when you get on YouTube and you watch a music video,
- 22:55Speaker 1: they had it channel. They had a channel that just
- 22:59Speaker 1: played music videos.
- 23:00Speaker 4: I know what a music with you is, but I
- 23:02Speaker 4: don't watch them. Yeah, I just listened to the songs.
- 23:05Speaker 1: All right, This one, you guys should get. All right, This,
- 23:09Speaker 1: in the nineties was the ultimate party game. Four colors.
- 23:12Speaker 1: You had to you had to hit them in the
- 23:13Speaker 1: right order before it sped up and made your brain explode.
- 23:19Speaker 4: A fidget spinner, not a fidget spinner, Rubus cube robots,
- 23:26Speaker 4: Rubus robust cubes for her to stop talking.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Electronic memory. So you know what, We've had one here, right,
- 23:33Speaker 1: It's like green, red, yellow, blue, and you go boooo.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Four colors. I'm like sorry, I tried to I was
- 23:42Speaker 4: trying to think.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I thought it was like a little I don't I
- 23:46Speaker 3: was trying. I kept on saying it because I was
- 23:47Speaker 3: trying to figure out what I was saying.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Wrong. I don't know, that's not what I was saying.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I don't even think we had fidget spinners in the nineties.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Rubs cubes.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Oh okay, is it called that? Yeah, the thing that
- 24:00Speaker 1: your cousin is pretty good at. Yeah, yeah, it's four
- 24:03Speaker 1: of them and you spun them, but it's yeah, yeah,
- 24:05Speaker 1: you're right, and those could be four colors on some sides.
- 24:09Speaker 1: All right, I get what you're saying. Yeah, every kid
- 24:13Speaker 1: in the knees begged for these shoes because they had
- 24:16Speaker 1: a thing on the tongue that people claimed would make
- 24:21Speaker 1: you jump higher. At least we thought the kind of
- 24:26Speaker 1: shoes or sneakers. At least they had something on the
- 24:29Speaker 1: tongue of the shoebox. Rebox was a thing. But you
- 24:33Speaker 1: think just because you put rebox on, we all thought
- 24:35Speaker 1: that we could jump higher, squeeze the tongue of the shoe. No, crocks,
- 24:42Speaker 1: crocs weren't a thing. Crocks are dumb unless they want
- 24:45Speaker 1: to be a sponsor. Then I would actually wear a
- 24:47Speaker 1: pair of crocks, but they would have to be a
- 24:49Speaker 1: sponsor of the show, and that's never going to happen.
- 24:51Speaker 1: They were called pump sneakers. Have you ever seen them
- 24:55Speaker 1: so you could actually take like they had like a
- 24:58Speaker 1: basketball or a little pump on the shoe.
- 25:00Speaker 4: I've seen them to pump up your shoes so you
- 25:02Speaker 4: can jump high.
- 25:03Speaker 1: We thought, but it didn't really make you jump higher.
- 25:07Speaker 4: So during dim class you would.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Just be like, I mean I never had a pair,
- 25:11Speaker 1: but a lot of the rich kids had a pair,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and you wanted them so bad.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Did you ask for them for Christmas?
- 25:18Speaker 1: Probably? But I probably wasn't a good boy and I
- 25:20Speaker 1: didn't get them.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Did you ever get cool?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:24Speaker 4: You did?
- 25:25Speaker 1: I love Weber grilling.
- 25:27Speaker 3: No, I mean like if you were, you did it.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Did you get any presents? Like when Santa gives you call.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I got call one year in a couple of presents? Wow?
- 25:39Speaker 4: Because you were bad boys?
- 25:41Speaker 1: All right? These bright, stretchy plastic things kind of look
- 25:49Speaker 1: like tattoos, but they usually go around your neck. And
- 25:54Speaker 1: every these girl either worthies. You knew somebody choker choker,
- 26:00Speaker 1: the tattoo chokers. Are they back?
- 26:03Speaker 4: Yeah them, Yeah they're sold. I actually feel like sick.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I've loved make me have that feeling that pukes like
- 26:13Speaker 4: right here coming up, And I just felt like it, like.
- 26:15Speaker 1: That feeling you see when you see the pigs open
- 26:18Speaker 1: up on the pig ROAs, like.
- 26:20Speaker 3: The one that have like little designs on them. But
- 26:24Speaker 3: and then it goes around your neck and there's like
- 26:26Speaker 3: a little charm I have. I used to have a
- 26:28Speaker 3: bunch of those on my old house, but they're probably wereland.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Probably interesting, and they probably wouldn't fit you. When they
- 26:35Speaker 1: were at your old house, you were like two three yeah, yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 1: but that was fun, you guys pretty The only thing
- 26:43Speaker 1: that really got you, guys was the pump up sneakers.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I have to educate you on that. You guys are
- 26:48Speaker 1: really starting to be some nineties kids, because the nineties
- 26:50Speaker 1: are just better. Let's be honest.
- 26:52Speaker 4: What you have?
- 26:53Speaker 1: So we had the landline.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Is that where you talk through a cup?
- 26:57Speaker 1: Oh you know a landline is like neim it still
- 27:00Speaker 1: has at our house that rings on the wall.
- 27:03Speaker 5: Like what schools use did You used to have one
- 27:05Speaker 5: of those things that you could do a three way call,
- 27:09Speaker 5: so like you would call and then somebody else would
- 27:11Speaker 5: call somebody else so you could hear them.
- 27:14Speaker 1: We're never that cool. We had in our internet. Of course,
- 27:18Speaker 1: we didn't have him on the phones. It was called
- 27:20Speaker 1: dial up. So soon you had to go press a
- 27:22Speaker 1: program and go you know what. And it was so
- 27:25Speaker 1: like if you want to go check your fantasy football team,
- 27:27Speaker 1: you press it yeahoo dot com football click and wait
- 27:31Speaker 1: and wait and wait.
- 27:32Speaker 4: But that's what you would you you got mail.
- 27:39Speaker 1: It was interesting times, but either way that sounded pretty good.
- 27:44Speaker 1: All right, I want you guys all, I want both
- 27:46Speaker 1: of you get up real quick, carefully run over to
- 27:49Speaker 1: the fridge, and I want you to see the first
- 27:51Speaker 1: thing that you see and then carefully walk back over
- 27:55Speaker 1: here and tell everybody what you think one of the
- 27:58Speaker 1: weirdest and the first thing that pops out in your brain. Ready,
- 28:01Speaker 1: they're over at the fridge. Avery's got one, Isla open
- 28:05Speaker 1: that fridge. Come back and let me see the first
- 28:07Speaker 1: thing that you see when you open that fridge. Avery's
- 28:11Speaker 1: back up first, got the first look is go the
- 28:13Speaker 1: other way? Avery, What was the first thing you saw,
- 28:18Speaker 1: like the new mayonnaise or the old mayonnaise?
- 28:20Speaker 4: New Man got the new mayonnaise because it was literally
- 28:23Speaker 4: got you. Was the first thing you saw Helven's good dip, the.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Heaven's good dip, or the hell of a what I said, No,
- 28:30Speaker 1: but that's the name of it.
- 28:32Speaker 4: That's why I said Heaven.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Heaven's good dip. She's not saying, and Avery's over here
- 28:38Speaker 1: just saying, hell of a Hella. You played a hell
- 28:40Speaker 1: of a good soccer game. Doesn't mean it's right to
- 28:43Speaker 1: say it now while your teachers and everybody's gonna be
- 28:45Speaker 1: like Avery's swearing on the podcast, she's fired.
- 28:47Speaker 4: She's fired, fired from what I can't get fired from school.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Don't get in the resource room. But either way, my.
- 28:53Speaker 4: Mom got me stuff through that on accident.
- 28:58Speaker 1: That's not dirty. Let's not mail. I know what's the
- 29:02Speaker 1: word I'm saying. We're not going to talk about that.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Either way, We're over our time. Let's you have a
- 29:07Speaker 1: good rest of the day. I appreciate you, Avery, I
- 29:10Speaker 1: appreciate you. This was fun and I for I'm not
- 29:14Speaker 1: even gonna say stay out of my fridge because I
- 29:16Speaker 1: just let you into my fridge and this has been
- 29:18Speaker 1: a fun time. Will be whoa in the comments? I
- 29:21Speaker 1: want you to guess who just ripped that burb? We're
- 29:26Speaker 1: going to say, wrap it up.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Make sure to tell your friends about this podcast.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Why don't you told all your friends about the podcast?
- 29:32Speaker 1: I do nobody's watching. Send it to them, just kidding, Avery,
- 29:36Speaker 1: what you got?
- 29:37Speaker 4: Bye bye?
- 29:38Speaker 1: That's real creative. Send this over to your grandma, your uncle,
- 29:44Speaker 1: two friends, and I'd love to stock up our fridge.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Because you oh you finished?
- 29:55Speaker 1: Oh I get to finish. Okay, all right, one last thing, kids, money,
