- 0:31Speaker 1: us out. We're We're going on tour tomorrow on Thursday.
- 0:40Speaker 1: The first show on this tour is in Berlin, Germany,
- 0:45Speaker 1: and so the album will be out when we are
- 0:47Speaker 1: on the road. So it's gonna be nice to play
- 0:53Speaker 1: a couple of new songs from the new album and
- 0:55Speaker 1: to be able to offer it to the to the fans.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Would be second. You tell us bit more about the
- 1:02Speaker 2: album from a musical perspective. Mind, what you're done for
- 1:05Speaker 2: with it?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Well, I think we we continued on the same path
- 1:14Speaker 1: as we did on our previous album, our comeback album
- 1:19Speaker 1: called All the Heads Are Going to Roll, So we
- 1:23Speaker 1: we continue writing in the in the same way, I think,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and but in hindsight, this new album turned out a
- 1:35Speaker 1: bit more intense than the previous one, I think, which
- 1:40Speaker 1: is not a bad thing or that metal band.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Can you explain intense? What do you mean by intense?
- 1:48Speaker 1: I think it's it's it's not it's not necessarily faster.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But I don't know, it's more intense. I don't know
- 2:10Speaker 1: how to describe it. Really, it's more maybe it's more
- 2:16Speaker 1: fast parts and like, for instance, the opening song Rapture
- 2:27Speaker 1: in Rupture, it's really that's really intense. It's like no no,
- 2:34Speaker 1: no space for to take your breath anywhere, just full
- 2:38Speaker 1: on smash smash. Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Nice.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Your nearest guitar star Christian contributed the title of four
- 2:47Speaker 3: songs on this album, right, So what what did have
- 2:50Speaker 3: in him there bring to the stand?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Well, he has his own way of writing, as everyone does.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I guess he has been a Vomitory fan for many
- 3:02Speaker 1: years before he joined the band, so he knows what
- 3:06Speaker 1: we're all about. So he knew what too, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: he knew what the framework is. So but he he
- 3:19Speaker 1: had some really cool ideas that he they he brought
- 3:25Speaker 1: brought into the band and for instance, the intro thing
- 3:31Speaker 1: guitar intro thing for the title track in Death Throws
- 3:35Speaker 1: is really cool, which also that part is also incorporated
- 3:40Speaker 1: later in the song, which is a really cool thing
- 3:44Speaker 1: I think. So, yeah, it's been great to have him
- 3:48Speaker 1: join the joining the band and too and that he
- 3:52Speaker 1: contributes contributes with that much material, that's that's awesome.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and you again used Giandis for the album artwork
- 4:04Speaker 3: made and he's come up with an awesome design.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Say, how does that tie in with the with the
- 4:09Speaker 2: roll theme of the album.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's it works really well. We it's
- 4:17Speaker 1: the same artist that made our the cover art for
- 4:20Speaker 1: our previous album, Gianni's Nakos of Remedy art design from Greece.
- 4:27Speaker 2: We had.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We had had a had a couple of ideas that
- 4:33Speaker 1: we sent to him that what we wanted in the cover,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and we also sent him the the lyrics for the
- 4:39Speaker 1: song and then he he took his his own ideas
- 4:47Speaker 1: into it and yeah, the outcome is pretty awesome.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so coming.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Back a bit made like After forming in ninet eighty nine,
- 4:56Speaker 3: Vomitory delivered eight killer albums between nineteen ninety six threey
- 5:00Speaker 3: eleven in Build a Loyal Fan basically entrench yourself in
- 5:04Speaker 3: the death metal scene, but then disbanded in threeenty thirty
- 5:07Speaker 3: in mates. So at that stage, did you fill out
- 5:10Speaker 3: the band still at unfinished business?
- 5:13Speaker 1: Not At that stage we had in twenty thirteen, we
- 5:16Speaker 1: were definitely finished. That's why we quit. And yeah, the
- 5:23Speaker 1: plan was never to reunite. We in twenty thirteen we
- 5:29Speaker 1: felt that we had reached the end of the line
- 5:31Speaker 1: and that was it. So and by then we had
- 5:34Speaker 1: been an active band for twenty four years straight, so
- 5:40Speaker 1: the fire was gone and we were done. That's that
- 5:45Speaker 1: was my feeling at least. So then shit happened and
- 5:49Speaker 1: we made a one off reunion show in twenty seventeen,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and that led to another thing, and then now we're
- 5:58Speaker 1: here two more, having made two more albums.
- 6:04Speaker 3: So when you had that reunion show in two thousand
- 6:06Speaker 3: and seven eight, did you plan on actually reforming after
- 6:09Speaker 3: that or did you all go into it to see
- 6:11Speaker 3: how things go and make your mind up after.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Well, when we did that show, we were a few
- 6:17Speaker 1: years had passed since the since the breakup, and then
- 6:21Speaker 1: we after that show, we were like, wow, this was
- 6:24Speaker 1: really fun, and we said that maybe we should keep
- 6:29Speaker 1: the door open for more live shows in the future,
- 6:33Speaker 1: just to do live shows, no, not to come back
- 6:36Speaker 1: as a real band, and then Eric came with the
- 6:42Speaker 1: idea that we should make a temporary reunion during twenty
- 6:48Speaker 1: nineteen to highlight the thirtieth anniversary of the band, which
- 6:53Speaker 1: we did, and we played a lot of live shows
- 6:58Speaker 1: during that year, and the plan was to only play
- 7:01Speaker 1: live shows and during that year and then put the
- 7:04Speaker 1: band back into the grave again, but we got so
- 7:09Speaker 1: many requests so we had to turn a few offers down,
- 7:12Speaker 1: so we decided to extend this temporary reunion into twenty
- 7:17Speaker 1: twenty so we could play some more shows. But then
- 7:21Speaker 1: the pandemic hit the world, so everything was put on
- 7:25Speaker 1: hold and we were waiting, if you know, to since
- 7:34Speaker 1: shows got postponed or canceled, and we didn't know what
- 7:37Speaker 1: to do because we couldn't really do thirtieth anniversary shows
- 7:42Speaker 1: after thirty two or thirty three years, so it Yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 1: So it was during the pandemic that we decided to
- 7:53Speaker 1: to get back together as a real band again to
- 7:57Speaker 1: release albums and go on tours and like we did
- 8:01Speaker 1: in the in the old days. Yeah, because we enjoyed
- 8:09Speaker 1: it so much playing live again during nineteen, so we
- 8:14Speaker 1: said let's let's do it.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah cool and all heads again.
- 8:20Speaker 3: A role came out in twenty twenty three made and
- 8:22Speaker 3: it proved that Vomitory It lost nothing in terms of musicality.
- 8:25Speaker 2: And you strength the character.
- 8:26Speaker 3: But internally, how important was that album for you have
- 8:30Speaker 3: a sort of come back album.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it was, of course very important, since we
- 8:36Speaker 1: wanted to, you know, come back and be an active
- 8:40Speaker 1: band again, and it was important to have a really
- 8:45Speaker 1: really good album since I guess that bands that do
- 8:53Speaker 1: this kind of thing, that they come back, it's very
- 8:57Speaker 1: important to have a very strong album or else you
- 9:03Speaker 1: lose your credibility instantly. I think, yeah, but I think
- 9:11Speaker 1: we we we made a great album with All Heads
- 9:15Speaker 1: Are Gonna Roll and apparently fans loved it, and yeah,
- 9:22Speaker 1: the reviews were overwhelming everywhere. So yeah, we're really happy
- 9:27Speaker 1: with that, I said.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Because of the success of that album, like, was it
- 9:32Speaker 4: champion to rehash what was obviously a winning formula on
- 9:36Speaker 4: that foreign Death Right, So it was important for you
- 9:38Speaker 4: to sort of change up a little bit.
- 9:42Speaker 1: No, we didn't really change up much, but what we
- 9:46Speaker 1: did change a little bit from our old albums for
- 9:52Speaker 1: All Heads Are Going To Roll was that when we
- 9:55Speaker 1: started writing for that album, we decided to try to
- 10:00Speaker 1: focus more on writing strong choruses in the songs and like,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and also work a lot more on backing vocals. So
- 10:16Speaker 1: that's something that differs a little bit from our previous albums.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think so we were we wrote, we were a
- 10:24Speaker 1: lot more conscious to write like the chorus thing in
- 10:29Speaker 1: in in the songs, and I think we pulled that
- 10:33Speaker 1: off really well. And we had the same same mindset
- 10:39Speaker 1: for this new album as well as we did on
- 10:43Speaker 1: on on the previous one. So but also uh, and
- 10:49Speaker 1: we had Christian coming in and contributing with his stuff,
- 10:53Speaker 1: which also made it a little bit more interesting interesting,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I think.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks very much for your time.
- 11:01Speaker 3: In Death Throws is out April the tenth, so best
- 11:04Speaker 3: of luck with it.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Thank you very much.
