- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:29Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley along with
- 0:33Speaker 1: Trey Trendholm and Raj Sharma. Today is Tuesday, July fifteenth,
- 0:39Speaker 1: two thousand and one. Five. It's roadshow week here inside
- 0:43Speaker 1: the Treehouse. More details on that coming up. But first
- 0:46Speaker 1: today I have to start with a very scary situation
- 0:52Speaker 1: in upstate New York. Curtis Jones is going to describe
- 0:59Speaker 1: for us his face to face encounter with a mysterious
- 1:05Speaker 1: large cat in New York.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Wow, I felt, I felt that rour. I know to
- 1:11Speaker 2: keep it pushing.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I know that.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Curtis Jones says he was walking near Robber Street late
- 1:16Speaker 4: Wednesday when he saw people running from what appeared to
- 1:19Speaker 4: be a large wild cat.
- 1:21Speaker 5: I thought, I see the people. I'll just see something
- 1:23Speaker 5: big just walking just right over here, right everybody, boy,
- 1:26Speaker 5: it went right over here. I swear, I promised him
- 1:28Speaker 5: right over there.
- 1:29Speaker 2: They just it's ww I just I.
- 1:31Speaker 6: Just cut walk.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I've seen it, seen me see it, so.
- 1:34Speaker 5: In my head, I might not gotta go, man, I'm out.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Rochester Police say officers became aware of a video on
- 1:40Speaker 4: social media that appears to show a wild cat, which
- 1:43Speaker 4: some people claim is a mountain lion. RPD says it
- 1:47Speaker 4: received numerous calls of reported sightings, including one year North
- 1:50Speaker 4: Clinton Avenue in Robber Street just after midnight about like.
- 1:54Speaker 7: This bit.
- 1:57Speaker 2: It was it was it was, it was just walking
- 1:59Speaker 2: Slytherin like it was.
- 2:00Speaker 6: I don't know, man.
- 2:01Speaker 4: A shelter in place was ordered and then lifted when
- 2:04Speaker 4: RPD was unable to verify the presence of a wild animal.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Police say no reports have been substantiated. Jones tells me
- 2:13Speaker 4: he remains on edge.
- 2:14Speaker 6: Gotta keep this bad right here.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna keep this bad right here, man.
- 2:18Speaker 6: That's the case. I'm gonna protect this.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I ain't gonna let nothing happen.
- 2:20Speaker 6: So it's nothing.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Okay, they ain't find it last night.
- 2:22Speaker 6: It's still out here.
- 2:23Speaker 2: It could be all heard one of these bushes or something.
- 2:25Speaker 5: You know, I'm mountain like wow, maybe crawling.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Serious.
- 2:31Speaker 4: The Monroe County Sheriff's Office assisted the investigation by using
- 2:34Speaker 4: an aerial drone. The Seneca Park because you told thirteen wham,
- 2:38Speaker 4: all of its animals are accounted for.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I don't play with lions, I don't play with tigers, bears.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Nothing, with the wild.
- 2:44Speaker 5: I don't play with those, I promise you.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I don't even do roller coasters. I'm good.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And that is Curtis Jones. That is Curtis Jones for
- 2:56Speaker 1: a thirteen wham.
- 2:59Speaker 6: In other words, he doesn't do white people.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and just and just in case some pops off,
- 3:07Speaker 1: he's got the bat with him to regular in.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Case the roller coaster shows up in his neighborhood.
- 3:13Speaker 1: He will beat up that roller coaster to death with
- 3:16Speaker 1: that aluminum baseball bat.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I love this guy.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You don't even need the reporter. Just give the man
- 3:23Speaker 1: the microphone. I mean, that's well, was half the report
- 3:26Speaker 1: right there was him, just eyewitness account of Curtis Jones. Like,
- 3:29Speaker 1: just give the man a microphone, just let him just
- 3:31Speaker 1: he's your new field reporter.
- 3:33Speaker 2: He needs to have his own segment called Curtis Jones. Word,
- 3:37Speaker 2: that's what I would watch.
- 3:42Speaker 1: This man's a star. I want it known that we
- 3:45Speaker 1: saw it and we proclaimed it before anybody else. Curtis
- 3:48Speaker 1: Jones is a star.
- 3:52Speaker 6: I don't know what, but yeah, and really this seems
- 3:56Speaker 6: to I think this is what is has been lost
- 3:58Speaker 6: in modern journalism. It's the probing questions, it's getting the
- 4:02Speaker 6: getting the witnesses to really give you that in depth
- 4:05Speaker 6: perspective they had.
- 4:07Speaker 1: That's true because at the end of the day, when
- 4:09Speaker 1: you're when you're a reporter and you're going and getting
- 4:13Speaker 1: eyewitness accounts and you're getting comments from the public, that's
- 4:16Speaker 1: exactly what it is. It's the comments section come to life.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And I think this.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Is what the comments section looks like.
- 4:27Speaker 2: She she has this reporter has her finger on the
- 4:29Speaker 2: pulse of the community.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I can say that, well, Curtis does too, but he
- 4:34Speaker 1: uses a bat instead of a finger.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I still I want to see him fight the mountain
- 4:39Speaker 2: lion with a bat. I just want to see this
- 4:42Speaker 2: when he realizes that don't don't beat mountain lion.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And let's be honest, in that video, that's a big
- 4:50Speaker 1: looking mountain lion. Like that's honestly more like Africa lion size.
- 4:55Speaker 2: M hm.
- 4:56Speaker 1: That didn't look like just you know, normal mountain lion
- 5:01Speaker 1: kind of a thing. Like I saw a story the
- 5:03Speaker 1: other day that a school went on lockdown because they
- 5:06Speaker 1: thought they saw a mountain lion outside the school. Turned
- 5:09Speaker 1: out it was just someone's fat house cat.
- 5:16Speaker 6: I think one of the things is is that like
- 5:20Speaker 6: people get confused between bobcats, mountain lions. Yeah, a lot
- 5:24Speaker 6: of times it just everything comes in like the umbrella
- 5:27Speaker 6: of a mountain lion and there's but that that is
- 5:29Speaker 6: a big cat, Like yeah, I get. For people who
- 5:31Speaker 6: are just listening, I would say that's cat was probably
- 5:36Speaker 6: three feet tall, like yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And even Curtis did it in the video. He's like, man,
- 5:41Speaker 1: it's like this tall and he's holding it up. It's
- 5:43Speaker 1: like four feet that he's holding up. His arm is
- 5:46Speaker 1: like even with his arm pit. So yeah, I don't
- 5:51Speaker 1: It was smart of the news team to check with
- 5:54Speaker 1: the local zoo to make sure they didn't have any
- 5:56Speaker 1: big cats that had gotten out, because that's what it
- 5:58Speaker 1: looks like.
- 6:00Speaker 2: That's somebody that bought a cub off of like Craigslist,
- 6:04Speaker 2: and now it's too big for the house, so you
- 6:08Speaker 2: let it roam around at night because it's too expensive
- 6:12Speaker 2: to feed. So whatever you get, you can.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Come back somethingn some some white lady is missing. Prissy
- 6:20Speaker 6: Chrissy the murder kitty, Christy versus Curtis.
- 6:32Speaker 3: You're in the Treehouse, visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Time out to talk to Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing
- 6:44Speaker 1: and Restoration eight three to three. Cook DFW is the
- 6:47Speaker 1: phone number to call him, the website cookdfw dot com
- 6:50Speaker 1: to take a look at some of the amazing work
- 6:52Speaker 1: they do. And speaking of some of the amazing work
- 6:54Speaker 1: you do, I know you guys do lots of work
- 6:57Speaker 1: inside the home, and I'm curious, do you do anything outside?
- 7:01Speaker 1: If someone called you and said, I really like an
- 7:04Speaker 1: outdoor kitchen, is that something you guys do as well?
- 7:07Speaker 8: Absolutely, Dan, A lot of people don't know that, but
- 7:10Speaker 8: we're basically are general contractors, and so a lot of
- 7:14Speaker 8: our current clients that we may have replaced their roof
- 7:17Speaker 8: a year or two ago or did some other work,
- 7:19Speaker 8: know that. And so they call us up all the
- 7:21Speaker 8: time as they want to enhance their home. Build on
- 7:24Speaker 8: an outdoor patio, a pergola, you know, build an outdoor kitchen,
- 7:28Speaker 8: a living area. You know, there's all kinds of different
- 7:31Speaker 8: opportunity to so tons of things around your house. Custom fences, gates, sheds.
- 7:38Speaker 8: We built a very large shed for a gentleman in
- 7:41Speaker 8: flyer Mouth just recently. Top notch slab poured concrete, insulation, ventilation.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I mean it was top notch.
- 7:50Speaker 6: You can almost live in there.
- 7:51Speaker 8: So he literally if he gets in the doghouse, he
- 7:54Speaker 8: actually has some place to go that's going to be perfect.
- 7:56Speaker 6: So but yes, we can do anything.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Dan outstanding. So so if you have an idea, Daniel
- 8:02Speaker 1: Cook from Cookdfwroofing and Restoration can help you make it

- 8:53Speaker 1: scheduled today. This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Malley
- 8:56Speaker 1: along with Trade Trenholman Raj Sharma. Today's Tuesday, July fifteenth,
- 9:00Speaker 1: twenty five, The day we learned about Curtis Jones and
- 9:03Speaker 1: how the cat goes. Raj, what was it you were
- 9:07Speaker 1: telling us about Mumbai.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Most people don't realize that it's in a national forest.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Like the actual city is in the middle of a
- 9:15Speaker 2: national forest, so there are national forest style creatures that
- 9:20Speaker 2: dwell there as well.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And there was also not like not like just outside
- 9:24Speaker 1: the city, but in it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, uh huh yeah, so much to the
- 9:29Speaker 2: surprise of this bus driver who got on at seven
- 9:31Speaker 2: o'clock in the morning to start his shift and was
- 9:33Speaker 2: just making sure, checking the mirrors and everything, and looked
- 9:36Speaker 2: in the back and asleep was a black panther was
- 9:40Speaker 2: asleep in the back, just spread out. And my favorite,
- 9:43Speaker 2: he didn't say much when the when the reporter asked him,
- 9:46Speaker 2: you know, what's the first thing he did? He's like,
- 9:48Speaker 2: I got off the bus. That was it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It's a wise man, I mean seriously, I mean it's
- 9:56Speaker 1: really selfish for India to birth two great mind two
- 10:01Speaker 1: great generational minds, Gandhi and this bus driver. I got
- 10:07Speaker 1: off the bus.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Okay, makes sense, that was pretty simple. What was the
- 10:12Speaker 2: first thing I did? And got off the bus?
- 10:14Speaker 1: But that goes back to what Trey was saying earlier
- 10:17Speaker 1: when we were hearing about Curtis Jones seeing a big
- 10:20Speaker 1: murder Kitty in Rochester, New York. The journalist kept asking
- 10:24Speaker 1: probing questions of this eyewitness, and that's where you get
- 10:27Speaker 1: the good information. And really it is. I mean, there
- 10:30Speaker 1: are certain times as a reporter that you hate to
- 10:33Speaker 1: ask the question, can you tell me what you were thinking?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Or how do you how did what did you feel
- 10:39Speaker 1: when your house got blown away by this tornado? Or
- 10:43Speaker 1: in this case, how did you feel when you saw
- 10:46Speaker 1: the large cat across the street or the big black
- 10:49Speaker 1: panther at the back of your bus, which, by the way,
- 10:51Speaker 1: that's just wrong. They should be able to sleep anywhere
- 10:54Speaker 1: they want on the bus.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yes, it shouldn't be all the way in the back,
- 10:59Speaker 2: because that was you're so progressive I am.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Someone called me lib and that's just you know whatever,
- 11:07Speaker 1: I just I believe in equality. Black panthers should be
- 11:10Speaker 1: forced to sleep in the back of the bus wherever
- 11:12Speaker 1: they want.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Keep it reeled in right, ye word, I just in
- 11:23Speaker 2: my head like it's a casting call, right, Like I see,
- 11:25Speaker 2: like the reporters show up, they've got the story. They
- 11:28Speaker 2: lined a couple of people up and they're like, so
- 11:30Speaker 2: what sounded? What sound did the mountain lion make? And
- 11:35Speaker 2: Curtis was the first one to go ra and they're
- 11:37Speaker 2: like him, he's the one, He's the one.
- 11:39Speaker 1: It's the same thing like that, we need that guy
- 11:41Speaker 1: on TV right now.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It's like when they go to Oklahoma. It's like, so,
- 11:44Speaker 2: how did you know, They're like, oh, hey, I'll tell
- 11:47Speaker 2: you right now. We knew right then. It's like, that's
- 11:48Speaker 2: the guy that's our chuck.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Cut in live, now, cut in live. I got a
- 11:51Speaker 1: hot one.
- 11:53Speaker 6: It's like, when.
- 11:56Speaker 1: We can't waste tape on this, we need to go
- 11:58Speaker 1: live for the next twenty four hours. It's all Curtis
- 12:00Speaker 1: all the time.
- 12:01Speaker 2: The moonshine is going to wear off. Please now.
- 12:06Speaker 6: When the Space Shuttle broke up over Texas, oh uh,
- 12:10Speaker 6: you know, we swore up and down and that they
- 12:12Speaker 6: they were going out and finding the you know, just
- 12:16Speaker 6: most ignorant sounding East Texas person to interview, you know,
- 12:19Speaker 6: the one that was actually going to go look for scrap,
- 12:21Speaker 6: you know, to sell in their yard sale.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 6: In fact, we got banned from CNN at the time
- 12:26Speaker 6: from the radio show we were working on because we
- 12:29Speaker 6: asked the one the reporters, are you going just trying
- 12:31Speaker 6: to find the dumbest people possible.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Right, and Ed Lavendara has not forgiven us honestly, honestly,
- 12:39Speaker 1: And I think that was very unfair of CNN ED
- 12:42Speaker 1: and Ed Lavendara to do that to us, because they,
- 12:47Speaker 1: as reporters, are going to ask questions, and sometimes you
- 12:50Speaker 1: have to speak truth to power and ask difficult questions.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It was as Texans we felt it to be our
- 12:56Speaker 1: duty to ask the reporter, are you only airing the idiots?
- 13:01Speaker 1: I know they're smart people in the Tyler Longview area,
- 13:04Speaker 1: but you seem to me purposely avoiding them.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Okay, have you have you spent much time in the
- 13:12Speaker 2: My great grandmother lived in Pittsburgh, Texas. Grandma Glick, Yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 2: the racist.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but she was kind of smart. Well, I mean
- 13:25Speaker 1: she had intelligence. She was wrong, but you know, she
- 13:28Speaker 1: could form a sentence. Most of those sentences were horrifically racist,
- 13:33Speaker 1: but she knew the difference between an adjective and an adverb.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just saying I spent quite a bit of
- 13:41Speaker 2: time there. No, the smart people usually had head out
- 13:46Speaker 2: after five and get back to Dallas as quick as
- 13:48Speaker 2: they can.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah. They really did seem like they were just going
- 13:52Speaker 1: and trying to find the people.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the same with it like there in my head, Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 1: You're a right roger. As soon as this news cruise
- 14:01Speaker 1: showed up and saw Curtis.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Rahel, I felt down.
- 14:05Speaker 8: Rau.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I know to keep it pushing, I know that.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Curtis Jones says he was walking near Robber Street late
- 14:11Speaker 4: Wednesday when he saw people running from what appeared to
- 14:14Speaker 4: be a large wild cat.
- 14:16Speaker 5: I thought, I see the people, I'll just see something
- 14:17Speaker 5: big just walking just right over here, right everybody, boy,
- 14:21Speaker 5: it went right over here.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I swear, I promised him right over there. He just
- 14:25Speaker 2: I just I just cut walk.
- 14:27Speaker 5: I've seen it, seen me see it.
- 14:29Speaker 2: So in my head, I'm like, I gotta go, man,
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm all he saw it, see him see it?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yes, they exchanged a knowing glance. It's not every day
- 14:43Speaker 1: you get to communicate with a wild animal on that level.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and Curtis did. He shared a moment with
- 14:50Speaker 1: Prissy at the murder kidding.
- 14:54Speaker 2: It's a little vanity tag, like a little necklace that
- 14:56Speaker 2: walks around with Oh.
- 14:58Speaker 1: The only thing that this story was missing was for
- 15:01Speaker 1: the reporter to hand Curtis a pen and a piece
- 15:05Speaker 1: of paper and say, can you show us can you
- 15:09Speaker 1: draw for us what the cat looked.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Like watching me like this? Like savant, amazing artist.
- 15:20Speaker 6: Get some portrait looks like it was on a seventies van.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Now you've got two stories.

- 16:42Speaker 1: can be to see you on Sunday. I'm Dan, He's Trey.
- 16:45Speaker 1: That's Raj. It's a rare Sorry, this is gonna be
- 16:51Speaker 1: that's gonna be with me all week and probably for
- 16:54Speaker 1: the rest of my life, so I'm kind of happy
- 16:56Speaker 1: about that. I'm now going to share with you a
- 17:01Speaker 1: cautionary tale. Okay, a husband forgot his wife at a
- 17:07Speaker 1: gas station and didn't realize it for almost two hundred miles.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I'm going to say that headline again, but with slightly
- 17:16Speaker 1: different delivery. Okay, a husband forgot his wife at a
- 17:22Speaker 1: gas station and didn't realize it for two hundred miles.
- 17:25Speaker 2: You can also change the headline to a husband was
- 17:27Speaker 2: in peace for two hundred miles.
- 17:31Speaker 1: The reason why that the subhead is the reason why
- 17:34Speaker 1: he forgot was because it was so peaceful.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Quiet control the radio. Yeah, this seems so nice.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I get to hear of everything I want to hear.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I get to listen to my favorite treehouse show, maybe
- 17:49Speaker 1: some Genesis do some air drumming with Phil Collins, and
- 17:54Speaker 1: why is it so nice?
- 17:55Speaker 6: And oh no, or he was hungry and he thought, well,
- 18:03Speaker 6: I'd like this to eat, and he realized, oh I
- 18:05Speaker 6: don't have to, you know, argue with someone for ten
- 18:07Speaker 6: minutes about what to eat.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Yeah, as you keep passing places to eat, I really
- 18:12Speaker 2: thought you were going to go a different direction trade.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I thought you were going to go your more traditional
- 18:16Speaker 1: sexist route, saying I'm hungry, but where's my sandwich maker?
- 18:25Speaker 6: I saw if they had been at home.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Maybe, oh, gotcha, she doesn't make road sandwiches. Yes, all right, gotcha? Yeah, no,
- 18:33Speaker 1: this story's fascinating a man in France. So this is
- 18:37Speaker 1: an international story, and not just international, but Europe and
- 18:40Speaker 1: fancy Europe. On top of that, a Frenchman went on
- 18:45Speaker 1: a road trip with his wife and he claims he
- 18:48Speaker 1: forgot her at a gas station along the way and
- 18:50Speaker 1: didn't realize it for nearly two hundred miles. They have
- 18:53Speaker 1: not released his name, but he is sixty two years old.
- 18:56Speaker 1: His wife is sixty. They left Paris, Morocco, last Friday
- 19:01Speaker 1: night to beat traffic. It's a long drive by the
- 19:04Speaker 1: way from Paris to Morocco, about twenty seven hours, and
- 19:07Speaker 1: they made several stops during the first leg. He pulled
- 19:10Speaker 1: into a gas station around four thirty in the morning
- 19:12Speaker 1: to get gas. Then he left without her and didn't
- 19:15Speaker 1: realize it for almost two hundred miles. It's not clear
- 19:19Speaker 1: if perhaps she was sleeping in the back and maybe
- 19:21Speaker 1: she got out he didn't know it, but he called
- 19:24Speaker 1: police at eight thirty in the morning to report it. So,
- 19:26Speaker 1: if you're doing the math, he pulled in the gas
- 19:28Speaker 1: station at four thirty, called police at eight thirty, four
- 19:33Speaker 1: amazing hours of this man's life, and that's when he
- 19:37Speaker 1: called police. And to make matters worse, he couldn't even
- 19:41Speaker 1: remember which gas station that he had stopped at, or
- 19:45Speaker 1: even the city that it was in. So police had
- 19:48Speaker 1: to locate the wife by triangulating basically her cell phone,
- 19:54Speaker 1: which is interesting because in that four hour span she
- 19:56Speaker 1: had her phone and didn't once call him. I just
- 20:04Speaker 1: imagine the level of anger she must be feeling that
- 20:08Speaker 1: she didn't even bother to call him. She chose to
- 20:12Speaker 1: set to sit and stew in it and just let
- 20:15Speaker 1: that rage build. She wasn't gonna waste it on a
- 20:19Speaker 1: phone call. She wasn't gonna waste it via a text.
- 20:22Speaker 1: She wanted to wait to her erupt until he was
- 20:24Speaker 1: standing in front of her, at least that's my theory.
- 20:27Speaker 2: And then he had to drive all the way back,
- 20:29Speaker 2: so he's got to come up with the like every
- 20:32Speaker 2: scenario in his head of how to apologize for all
- 20:35Speaker 2: of this and and and then have to go back
- 20:38Speaker 2: the other way two hundred miles because that's where they
- 20:40Speaker 2: were going. So I would be divorced. Would I wouldn't
- 20:45Speaker 2: I wouldn't have shown up.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And therein lies my my question buried inside this fantastic story.
- 20:53Speaker 1: If you get almost two hundred miles away from your
- 20:56Speaker 1: wife because you say you forgot her at a gas station,
- 20:59Speaker 1: do you go back at No?
- 21:01Speaker 2: You fake your own death, that's what you do. Yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 2: I think you have to, uh keep on trucking. Yep,
- 21:14Speaker 2: you live wherever that place is, wherever two hundred miles
- 21:16Speaker 2: away from her is, that's where you live. Now, you're
- 21:19Speaker 2: you're Steve who just relocated.
- 21:20Speaker 6: I don't think job, I think you got to go
- 21:24Speaker 6: more than two hundred miles.
- 21:27Speaker 2: He's now a Moroccan citizen. That's where he lives.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Now, you're in the Treehouse, Visit us online at Treehouse
- 21:45Speaker 3: on air dot com.
- 21:47Speaker 1: You're right, I should go back and change the story
- 21:49Speaker 1: to a Moroccan man.
- 22:03Speaker 7: You're in the treehouse.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 22:10Speaker 1: We have an unhealthy need for approval here inside the Treehouse,
- 22:14Speaker 1: So do us a solid from your favorite podcasting platform.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Share this show with a friend, the share button is
- 22:20Speaker 1: that's square with the little arrow coming out of it.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Send that to a friend today. We appreciate it. The
- 22:24Speaker 1: treehouse is open. Let's grow. This is the Treehouse Show.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I'm Dany's trade. That's raj. It is Tuesday, which means
- 22:32Speaker 1: it's time for treehouse talkback right here inside the treehouse.
- 22:41Speaker 2: So someone came on the other day and was talking about.
- 22:45Speaker 6: Trays hate for avocado toast.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I wanted to reach.
- 22:50Speaker 10: Through my dash in my car and say it was
- 22:53Speaker 10: Alfie Koy, who devoutly hates avocado toast.
- 22:58Speaker 1: That is accurate. For years talked about on the show
- 23:01Speaker 1: how opposed to avocado toast that Alfie was, and to
- 23:06Speaker 1: the rest of us credit, most of us didn't approve
- 23:09Speaker 1: of it either. Trey, on the other hand, we have
- 23:12Speaker 1: learned because of this is the opposite. Trey, you actually
- 23:15Speaker 1: like avocado toast.
- 23:16Speaker 6: It's it's it's grown on me over the years and
- 23:19Speaker 6: when it's done right and it's really good. I've worked
- 23:25Speaker 6: at a couple of places, you know, Standard Poor and
- 23:27Speaker 6: TBC that had great brunches and really serve a nice
- 23:30Speaker 6: avocado test and I grew to really like it.
- 23:33Speaker 1: What about the price point of it.
- 23:38Speaker 6: I think at both places. I mean it was ten dollars.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I'm okay with that to me. To me, I get
- 23:44Speaker 1: I start giving the menu side eye. When I see
- 23:46Speaker 1: avocado toast starting at sixteen bucks and you better have
- 23:51Speaker 1: some wagu.
- 23:51Speaker 6: On it or something at that price, and that's like
- 23:53Speaker 6: four pieces.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I'm okay with that. I'm not opposed to the I
- 24:00Speaker 1: just don't like the complete price gouging of it, unless,
- 24:04Speaker 1: of course, the price of avocados skyrockets, which is likely
- 24:07Speaker 1: to happen right now for you know, obvious reasons.
- 24:12Speaker 2: It was Alfie, thank you.
- 24:16Speaker 1: So that's also the other reason I chose this call.
- 24:23Speaker 1: There it is again here.
- 24:27Speaker 6: Boo the new signature sign off on the top of.
- 24:33Speaker 1: The new signature. Yes, the new signature signed off from
- 24:36Speaker 1: Treo's talkback.
- 24:39Speaker 11: It's it's Linda. So I listened to your guys' show
- 24:43Speaker 11: when I'm on my way into work and then throughout
- 24:46Speaker 11: the day and you know, when I'm need something to
- 24:49Speaker 11: listen to, I listened to recordings of old shows. So
- 24:52Speaker 11: I was listening when we were talking about We like
- 24:55Speaker 11: I was there. You guys were talking about the Sala
- 24:57Speaker 11: Waterburger and Dan you said you know, when you run
- 25:00Speaker 11: away to the Caribbean, your stops are going to be Waterburger, Airport, Caribbean.
- 25:04Speaker 11: So now that you've run away, when you do come back,
- 25:07Speaker 11: I just want to know what you must have. I
- 25:09Speaker 11: have to come eat there, you know, raj Trey. Whenever
- 25:13Speaker 11: you guys are gone for a while and you come back,
- 25:15Speaker 11: is I have to eat here right now? I just,
- 25:18Speaker 11: you know, curious because when I was in Hawaii, my
- 25:21Speaker 11: first stop was the grocery store to get Bluebell and
- 25:24Speaker 11: then Waterburger. So anyway, thanks guys, and I'm going to
- 25:28Speaker 11: do my best attempt. But please, I'm not drinking right now, so, uh,
- 25:33Speaker 11: you know, keep it in or not. I don't really care.
- 25:41Speaker 1: There's a lot to unpack in that call from Melinda.
- 25:45Speaker 1: First of all, thank you Linda, and also ooh, I
- 25:50Speaker 1: love I love our listeners and that's that is proof positive.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Uh okay, So when I come back into town, one
- 25:56Speaker 1: are the first things I want. Water Burger is up
- 25:58Speaker 1: on that list. That is one of the things on
- 26:00Speaker 1: our list that we want to get. Uh when when
- 26:02Speaker 1: we like, when you go away for a while and
- 26:04Speaker 1: you come back, so we'll be getting Waterburger. Tara is
- 26:08Speaker 1: a Chick fil A fiend, so she it's basically just
- 26:13Speaker 1: about every day going to be ordering Chick fil A
- 26:15Speaker 1: breakfast and having it delivered for two reasons. One because
- 26:18Speaker 1: there's no Chick fil A in the US v I,
- 26:20Speaker 1: and two there's no good food delivery in the US
- 26:23Speaker 1: v I. There is, but it costs like an arm
- 26:27Speaker 1: and a leg to have it brought to you. So
- 26:32Speaker 1: Chick fil A Waterburger's on the list for me. At
- 26:35Speaker 1: Chipotle because I'm I I know some I know people
- 26:38Speaker 1: are kind of polarizing when it comes to Chipotle. I
- 26:42Speaker 1: love it.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I just yeah, I can't do it. I've never had it,
- 26:48Speaker 2: so I can't really even speak ill of it.
- 26:50Speaker 6: I'm like, I've there are times I like Chipotle. It's
- 26:54Speaker 6: nothing I When I go there, it's I I Typically
- 26:58Speaker 6: it's just as oh it's there, sounds okay. I don't
- 27:03Speaker 6: have any passion for it one way or the other.
- 27:07Speaker 1: For me, it's it's a convenience thing because it's everything
- 27:11Speaker 1: I like in one fast, casual environment, which is I
- 27:16Speaker 1: like coke zero. I also like slowly cooked meats over rice.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I also love tacos, and I also hate trying to
- 27:24Speaker 1: think about what I want for dinner, and I want
- 27:26Speaker 1: to make it healthy. Chipotle checks every single one of
- 27:29Speaker 1: my boxes every single time. It's tasty, it's fast, and
- 27:32Speaker 1: I don't have to think about it.
- 27:36Speaker 6: Yeah. The only thing when I travel, what the thing
- 27:39Speaker 6: I usually crave weren't anything else.
- 27:41Speaker 2: It's just Mexican food.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Mexican Food's up on the list as well.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I'm not sure what we're going to do and this,
- 27:50Speaker 1: this is uh, this is the influence that Raj has
- 27:52Speaker 1: had on my life. One of the main places we're
- 27:55Speaker 1: going to go when we're in town is the our place,
- 28:01Speaker 1: Indian Buffet in Irving.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 28:06Speaker 1: That is my favorite Indian food that I have had
- 28:09Speaker 1: from a restaurant because I because I remember Raj Liker,
- 28:12Speaker 1: your mom gave us some stuff that was my favorite.
- 28:14Speaker 1: But restaurant wise, we go to this place and we
- 28:16Speaker 1: absolutely love it.
- 28:18Speaker 2: There is next door to the Maverick where the road
- 28:21Speaker 2: show will be is a wonderful, wonderful Indian restaurant and
- 28:26Speaker 2: I swear by it. It's fantastic. Their chicken and rice
- 28:28Speaker 2: is what they're known for. That's their location in India
- 28:32Speaker 2: is known for. It's Berryanni is what it's called.
- 28:34Speaker 1: And I do love me so I just said it.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I love chicken and rice. I don't care from which
- 28:38Speaker 1: country it originates.
- 28:40Speaker 2: India's the best I've had. Whatever, it's the best I've had.
- 28:45Speaker 2: And they're like they're transplants, they're from Hydrobat. They they
- 28:48Speaker 2: moved here and so it is fantastic. But that's the
- 28:53Speaker 2: that's my go to same like sat Mexican food, but
- 28:55Speaker 2: I try to find Indian food, like whenever I'm out
- 28:58Speaker 2: on the road. When I come back, I go to
- 29:00Speaker 2: my go to spots, like I can find an in
- 29:02Speaker 2: and out anywhere, which I just that's the burger of
- 29:04Speaker 2: the frieser garbage. Yeah, and I really don't have a
- 29:09Speaker 2: go to place.
- 29:11Speaker 1: The other thing that my wife and I crave is
- 29:16Speaker 1: fountain drinks. So like at Chipotle, I love the fountain
- 29:20Speaker 1: Coke zero and at Chick fil A it's the fountain
- 29:25Speaker 1: Doctor Pepper. Because we don't get fountain drinks very often,
- 29:28Speaker 1: we don't have them in the Islands. It's bottled or cans.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Why is that? Can they not?
- 29:35Speaker 1: I honestly god, I don't know.
- 29:39Speaker 2: So behind the bar, like at bars, they're they're just
- 29:41Speaker 2: in the can.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Well behind the bar. They might have a soda gun,
- 29:45Speaker 1: but that's not the soda you want. And that's like
- 29:47Speaker 1: if you've had like like people talk about how good
- 29:50Speaker 1: the Diet Coke is Adam McDonald's, that Doctor Pepper is
- 29:53Speaker 1: at Chick fil A, it's because those places have perfected
- 29:56Speaker 1: the mixture. No one's done that behind a bar are
- 30:00Speaker 1: with a soda gun, especially because most of the time
- 30:02Speaker 1: that's like a knockoff RC right.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, interesting, Yeah, the di coke at McDonald's is
- 30:12Speaker 2: the best. I will agree with that statement.
- 30:17Speaker 10: Hey guys, this is Julian. Was listening to your animals.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, this next call is fascinating because I can't
- 30:26Speaker 1: tell if he loves us or hates us. We can
- 30:30Speaker 1: go ahead and go. We'll hear it when we get
- 30:33Speaker 1: back here. Inside the Treehouse.

- 31:31Speaker 1: Daniel Malley along with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Today
- 31:34Speaker 1: is Tuesday, July fifteenth, twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate today
- 31:40Speaker 1: with some birthdays. The star of Young Sheldon, Ian Armitage,
- 31:49Speaker 1: is seventeen today, seventeen year old Ian Armitage, the star
- 31:53Speaker 1: of Young Sheldon. I don't know if that kid's gonna
- 31:57Speaker 1: grow up to be a fine actor, but he's a
- 31:59Speaker 1: fine actor as a kid. And I hope that he
- 32:02Speaker 1: doesn't have the sickness that plagues so many young Hollywood stars.
- 32:07Speaker 1: And I don't mean the drinking and the drugs. I
- 32:11Speaker 1: mean the losing the cuteness. Okay, because some of these
- 32:16Speaker 1: Hollywood child stars do not grow up well.
- 32:20Speaker 2: But you do wish addiction on him.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I don't wish addiction on him. I'm just saying that
- 32:29Speaker 1: he can't help what his body.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Does when he gets arrested for being just gacked out
- 32:35Speaker 2: on coke. I hope he's super cute.
- 32:37Speaker 6: Still a great mugshot, you know what.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Let's be honest. I mean, what happened to River Phoenix
- 32:46Speaker 1: was tragic and it was horrible.
- 32:48Speaker 2: But he looked good.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I mean Haley Joel Osmond's mugshot not
- 32:57Speaker 1: so good.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he looked like he ate a lot of Haley
- 33:00Speaker 2: Joel osmins Mm hmm.
- 33:02Speaker 1: He looked like he had a bag of hobbits that
- 33:04Speaker 1: he was just snacking on or something.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, he's on that Axl Rose diet. I don't know what.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I don't know what Axle Rose is eating, but it's
- 33:10Speaker 2: all of it, all of it. Yeah. I did pull
- 33:15Speaker 2: up Guns n' Roses Rider and for him, like there's
- 33:17Speaker 2: two Pepperoni pizzas. Uh for for Axl Rose, eighties, I
- 33:24Speaker 2: think it was the eighties. Like, uh, it's like one
- 33:26Speaker 2: before the show and one after. I'm thinking he's still
- 33:29Speaker 2: doing the same with far less cardio and cocaine.
- 33:35Speaker 1: At a certain point, you have to realize you can't
- 33:38Speaker 1: eat the same way you did back in the eighties.
- 33:41Speaker 1: That's true for all of us who knew that we
- 33:44Speaker 1: all someday would have something in common with Axel Rose.
- 33:48Speaker 1: He's like, I want to I want to look like
- 33:50Speaker 1: meat loaf. Now that's what I want to do.
- 33:52Speaker 6: I mean, have you all seen the meme and it's
- 33:54Speaker 6: like Axel Rose, John bon Jovi, was Steven Tyler and
- 33:58Speaker 6: somebody else, you know, and they picture of them today
- 34:01Speaker 6: and they're like, oh, it's the new cast of the
- 34:02Speaker 6: Golden Girls.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I think the other person you're thinking of is Mickey
- 34:07Speaker 1: Rourke because there's that one photo of Rose and Mickey
- 34:10Speaker 1: Rourke next to each other in addition to the one
- 34:13Speaker 1: you're talking about Trey where it's where it's like one
- 34:16Speaker 1: of those It's like the moment you realize this isn't
- 34:18Speaker 1: too old lesbians, but two hardcore eighties rocker, like two
- 34:22Speaker 1: hardcore's eighties stars. Yeah, your mind gets blown because you
- 34:25Speaker 1: don't realize that that's actual Rose and Mickey Rourke. At first,
- 34:28Speaker 1: it really does look like, you know, some couple that
- 34:32Speaker 1: just left Seattle.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Super commercial super route.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there you go.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a family subar rou ad for the Pacific Northwest.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Just a husky in the middle.
- 34:45Speaker 1: And a dog.
- 34:52Speaker 3: You're in the Treehouse. Visit us online. I'm Treehouse on

- 35:29Speaker 1: He's Trey Trenholm. That is Raj Sharma. It is Tuesday,
- 35:33Speaker 1: and we still have a couple of calls left inside
- 35:36Speaker 1: Treehouse Talkback, and this is the call that I can't
- 35:40Speaker 1: tell if he loves us or hates us.
- 35:44Speaker 10: Hey, guys, this is Julian. Was listening to.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Your Actually that's not this call. This is a different call.
- 35:50Speaker 10: Animal cruelty jokes and was wondering when choked the chicken
- 35:54Speaker 10: or spank the monkey was going to make an appearance.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Thanks guys, Uh, Trey, other face that you made there too.
- 36:01Speaker 1: I don't know what he was talking like. We don't
- 36:02Speaker 1: make animal cruelty jokes. I know that I think he
- 36:06Speaker 1: left us this message on Friday so that the shows
- 36:11Speaker 1: that the topics we had on those shows, we had
- 36:13Speaker 1: a bear that mauled a guy because he was trying
- 36:15Speaker 1: to help it after he hit it with his car.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Maybe that's what he was talking about. We talked about
- 36:21Speaker 1: the lion that jumped over someone's backyard fence in Pakistan
- 36:26Speaker 1: and mauled a woman and her kids, But they weren't
- 36:31Speaker 1: animal cruelty jokes.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we're pretty pretty good with the being
- 36:37Speaker 2: kind of animals.
- 36:38Speaker 6: If there really is one subject that would absolutely never
- 36:45Speaker 6: be our one line, never be cross hears. We would
- 36:48Speaker 6: never make a joke about animal cruelty. People, Yes, all
- 36:50Speaker 6: the time.
- 36:51Speaker 1: People all the time. Absolutely. Oh, maybe he was Maybe
- 36:54Speaker 1: he was referring to the dog boy of Thailand, the
- 36:57Speaker 1: one that was being raised by wild dogs because his mom,
- 37:00Speaker 1: because his mom was a drug addict. Maybe that's maybe
- 37:03Speaker 1: that's what he was talking about. And again that's not
- 37:04Speaker 1: animal cruelty. Those jokes were a child cruelty.
- 37:10Speaker 2: It wasn't a dog in a cage, It was a
- 37:11Speaker 2: kid in a cage.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Different.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes in a cage.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I got jokes on that for days.
- 37:19Speaker 2: You know, who doesn't find it funny kids in cages?
- 37:21Speaker 1: But still, seeing as how at times I felt like
- 37:25Speaker 1: a kid in a cage, I feel like I can
- 37:27Speaker 1: speak to the topic. I could see it as a
- 37:31Speaker 1: kid who played in appliance boxes for hours on end.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I can tell you I can make jokes about kids.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Who's your imaginary friend?
- 37:44Speaker 6: Queen's and art?
- 37:45Speaker 1: Oh that's nice the maytag man. So I love those
- 37:52Speaker 1: commercials because finally other people saw him.
- 37:57Speaker 2: He was.
- 38:01Speaker 10: Just was listening to your animal cruelty jokes and was
- 38:05Speaker 10: wondering when choked the chicken or spink the monkey was
- 38:08Speaker 10: going to make an appearance. Thanks guys.
- 38:12Speaker 12: Yeah, I just wanted to make a comment on the
- 38:13Speaker 12: show that y'all did.
- 38:15Speaker 1: This is the one where I can't tell if he
- 38:17Speaker 1: loves us or hates us.
- 38:21Speaker 12: A man and his wife are honeymoon in Florida, and
- 38:24Speaker 12: I believe he is standing in water under a blue
- 38:27Speaker 12: sky when it got struck by lightning and killed. And man,
- 38:30Speaker 12: that one guy, Rogy, he is so funny. When he said, like,
- 38:33Speaker 12: what's the name of that white guy? Man, I just
- 38:35Speaker 12: almost wrecked my car laughing so hard.
- 38:40Speaker 2: See he loves us, right, yeah, I think so.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Not so fast.
- 38:48Speaker 12: And then I just kept thinking, boy, would be so
- 38:52Speaker 12: cool if they called this woman that's heartbroke about her
- 38:55Speaker 12: husband and just gave her all that funny stuff. I
- 38:59Speaker 12: bet you just really think that is so funny of
- 39:01Speaker 12: you guys, because you're you just truly want to be comedians,
- 39:05Speaker 12: I mean comedians.
- 39:10Speaker 1: See, it takes a really weird turn.
- 39:12Speaker 2: No, he does not like us. That's not a weird turn.
- 39:14Speaker 2: That's a very affirmative.
- 39:16Speaker 1: He does not like But the first part of a call,
- 39:18Speaker 1: he thinks it's really funny.
- 39:20Speaker 2: No, no, no, that's sarcasm. Dad, he delivered it too
- 39:23Speaker 2: on point. Yeah, No, he did not like it. That
- 39:27Speaker 2: was and that was the intentionally messing up my name.
- 39:30Speaker 2: That's what the whole thing was.
- 39:31Speaker 6: Not.
- 39:32Speaker 1: No, that I thought was funny, that I got yeah, yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 2: No.
- 39:35Speaker 1: The way I look at it is this and and
- 39:37Speaker 1: and I'm a firm believer in this. When we make
- 39:39Speaker 1: fun of people for the things that happened to them
- 39:42Speaker 1: or the choices they make in news stories, it's not
- 39:46Speaker 1: intended for them to hear it. Yes, but if they did,
- 39:51Speaker 1: and this is the point I always make, if I
- 39:54Speaker 1: was this guy in Florida on his honeymoon m that
- 39:59Speaker 1: got struck killed by lightning while standing in ankle deep
- 40:03Speaker 1: water on a clear blue sky day, to make fun
- 40:06Speaker 1: of me, yes, roast me more than the bolt did. Now.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I know not everyone's going to be approaching their own
- 40:15Speaker 1: death in such a manner, but if I die in
- 40:16Speaker 1: some jacked up, stupid way, please for the love of
- 40:19Speaker 1: God and make fun of it. And that's the like I.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Hope my Yeah, of course we will. We will honor
- 40:24Speaker 2: your wish.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 40:26Speaker 2: But I also hope that the person that I'm with
- 40:28Speaker 2: my significant others like, hey, this guy, try Dan, this
- 40:31Speaker 2: is what happened. God, please make fun of him on
- 40:34Speaker 2: the radio. Please make fun of him on the show.
- 40:36Speaker 6: Please.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I mean, there would be no other way. Like, I
- 40:38Speaker 2: want that as my person to say that.
- 40:44Speaker 6: Also, one of the overriding you know, themes of this
- 40:48Speaker 6: show has been for years making fun of Florida. Had
- 40:51Speaker 6: that happened in Iowa, it probably wouldn't have been near
- 40:53Speaker 6: as funny.
- 40:54Speaker 1: No, no, but this did bring up another angle on
- 40:58Speaker 1: the story that I had not thought of before. Thank
- 41:00Speaker 1: you to the man who hates us for bringing this
- 41:02Speaker 1: to my attention. A lightning bolt out of clear blue
- 41:07Speaker 1: sky strikes a man on his honeymoon in Florida, killing
- 41:11Speaker 1: him while standing in ankle deep water. Someone's wish came true.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Maybe it was maybe it's his best friend who is
- 41:22Speaker 1: in love with the wife, and there's no other way
- 41:24Speaker 1: to do it. He didn't have he wasn't going to
- 41:26Speaker 1: kill him. Maybe just one time. In a drunken prayer,
- 41:30Speaker 1: he asked God, after one too many Jaeger shots, will
- 41:33Speaker 1: you please kill this guy so I have a shot
- 41:35Speaker 1: at her? And then maybe his prayer, God answered.
- 41:37Speaker 6: No, no, no. Listen. The guy asked for it. He
- 41:41Speaker 6: had just he had just asked his wife what do
- 41:44Speaker 6: you want for dinner?
- 41:45Speaker 2: And then.
- 41:49Speaker 1: He was Later he asked God to spite it.
- 41:53Speaker 2: He was just trying to walk into the ocean.
- 41:59Speaker 1: God said, I got b I'm not gonna make you
- 42:04Speaker 1: do this yourself. I can't wait to hear that guy's
- 42:09Speaker 1: next phone call. This is the Treehouse Show. For all
