- 0:11Speaker 1: So the topics that I am going to be covering
- 0:13Speaker 1: that these were the main ones that came up. So
- 0:18Speaker 1: number one is getting up early consistently. Number two is
- 0:20Speaker 1: focusing on a task like things like studying for UNI
- 0:24Speaker 1: or whatever. Another one is how to stop eating bad
- 0:26Speaker 1: food all the time, how to maintain friendships, exercise even
- 0:34Speaker 1: where there's like roadblocks in the way, like if it
- 0:36Speaker 1: being really cold or you know whatever, spending too much
- 0:40Speaker 1: time on a device, and motivation to stop rewarding yourself
- 0:45Speaker 1: prematurely when you're seeing when you're starting to get some
- 0:50Speaker 1: results and then you go kind of off the bandwagon
- 0:52Speaker 1: and you treat yourself and that treat ends up turning
- 0:54Speaker 1: into like a three day, four day, one week, two weeks,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and you're just like almost giving up on what it
- 0:58Speaker 1: was that you were working on in the first place
- 1:00Speaker 1: because you saw some progress. So those are the main
- 1:02Speaker 1: ones that I am going to be covering, all right.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So the first thing that I want to touch on
- 1:08Speaker 1: before I go into the specifics of any of these
- 1:10Speaker 1: topics is.
- 1:11Speaker 2: You've got to look at this as.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Your beliefs on what you are capable of. So what
- 1:18Speaker 1: you believe that you are capable of is going to
- 1:20Speaker 1: determine what kind of action and the quality of that
- 1:25Speaker 1: action that you're going to take. And in like, you
- 1:30Speaker 1: can come up with every excuse under the sun as
- 1:34Speaker 1: to why something's not happening or why you're not doing
- 1:36Speaker 1: anything towards whatever, but at the end of the day,
- 1:41Speaker 1: there's a part of you that believes you are able
- 1:43Speaker 1: to do it. Because if you genuinely thought there was
- 1:46Speaker 1: no way in hell that you could achieve something, you
- 1:48Speaker 1: wouldn't be sitting here being like, oh, you know, but
- 1:52Speaker 1: how do I You know, I kind of just want
- 1:54Speaker 1: help being motivated for it, or I kind of want, like,
- 1:56Speaker 1: for example, I know that there is no chance in
- 1:59Speaker 1: hell that I can be a basketball player in the NBA,
- 2:01Speaker 1: So I don't waste any time, breath, energy thinking about,
- 2:05Speaker 1: oh but maybe maybe I could maybe, Like do you
- 2:07Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? Like, if something is in your
- 2:09Speaker 1: head one hundred percent not possible, you don't waste your time,
- 2:13Speaker 1: energy or breath even making excuses as to why you
- 2:17Speaker 1: don't do something because you just know it's absolutely not possible,
- 2:20Speaker 1: so that you don't even talk about it.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The problem is when you make excuses, it's because a
- 2:25Speaker 1: part of you knows that you're capable of it, So
- 2:28Speaker 1: now you need to justify why you're not doing it.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So start paying attention to the things that you're making
- 2:34Speaker 1: excuses for and realize that the reason you're making those
- 2:37Speaker 1: excuses is because there's a big chance that deep down
- 2:40Speaker 1: you know that you are capable of doing it. You
- 2:44Speaker 1: might need to make some changes or some sacrifices, but you,
- 2:47Speaker 1: as a human being, the way your life is set
- 2:49Speaker 1: up right now, is capable of attaining or achieving or
- 2:53Speaker 1: doing those things. You might not just like the process
- 2:57Speaker 1: of getting there, but you know that you're capable of
- 2:59Speaker 1: doing it. So what are your beliefs around what you're
- 3:03Speaker 1: capable of doing? Something that's really interesting as well is
- 3:06Speaker 1: something that Tony Robbins talks about, and he talks about
- 3:10Speaker 1: what is your standard? Like what standard do you hold
- 3:14Speaker 1: for yourself? And I think that's a really good question
- 3:16Speaker 1: that he gets people to ask themselves, because if you
- 3:19Speaker 1: have a pretty low standard for yourself, no matter how
- 3:23Speaker 1: much you gear yourself up the night before to do something,
- 3:27Speaker 1: at the end of the day, if you think that
- 3:28Speaker 1: you're only worthy of X, you're not going to get
- 3:31Speaker 1: up and do it because you think I might do
- 3:32Speaker 1: it one morning, but you know it's just not going
- 3:34Speaker 1: to happen for me, So I just won't bother. Why
- 3:37Speaker 1: get up early this morning if I know that I
- 3:39Speaker 1: can't do it consistently? You know? So it's like, what
- 3:41Speaker 1: is your standard for yourself and what are your beliefs
- 3:45Speaker 1: about what you are capable of?
- 3:46Speaker 2: A cheat? Okay, get cleaning on those things.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Another thing is, and I spoke about this briefly on
- 4:17Speaker 1: my Instagram this week, and it's what do you believe
- 4:25Speaker 1: about other people who are doing the things that you
- 4:29Speaker 1: want to be doing? Like what is your language around that?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Are you saying to are you saying about someone else?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Or you know, they're just genetically blessed, that's why their
- 4:42Speaker 1: body is the way it is. Or they're just lucky
- 4:44Speaker 1: because they get to eat whatever they want to eat,
- 4:46Speaker 1: or they're lucky that they're just naturally you know, skinny,
- 4:50Speaker 1: or he's a funny one, naturally muscular, whatever that fuck
- 4:54Speaker 1: that means, you know, or you're just you're naturally smart,
- 4:59Speaker 1: you're born smart. You just you know, you're you're this,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you're that, blah blah blah blah. How many times do
- 5:04Speaker 1: you not give credit to someone for what they have achieved,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and you palm it off as being due to something else,
- 5:13Speaker 1: due to luck, due to you know, a circumstance out
- 5:17Speaker 1: of their control. How many times do you allocate someone
- 5:21Speaker 1: else's success as due to being something else and not
- 5:24Speaker 1: due to their hard work. Every time you do that,
- 5:27Speaker 1: you do yourself a disservice and them a disservice. It's
- 5:33Speaker 1: unfair to you because you're telling yourself, Nah, I'm just
- 5:37Speaker 1: not capable of doing that.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Why bother? That's a huge like that.
- 5:41Speaker 1: That's fucking fucked because to tell yourself that, why even
- 5:45Speaker 1: listen to this podcast? Like that's ridiculous. You're wasting your time,
- 5:48Speaker 1: you know, just go wallow in a hole if that's
- 5:50Speaker 1: how you feel. So stop saying that the only reason
- 5:53Speaker 1: that other people are achieving things is because they're lucky,
- 5:55Speaker 1: Because if you genuinely felt that way, if you really
- 5:58Speaker 1: thought that, then why are you listening to this podcast
- 6:01Speaker 1: trying to see where you can make changes in your life?
- 6:03Speaker 1: If you thought that the only reason people succeeded is
- 6:06Speaker 1: because due to luck, take that word out of your
- 6:09Speaker 1: vocabulary when it comes to this specific topic that we're
- 6:12Speaker 1: talking about and it's also unfair to that person because
- 6:15Speaker 1: you're saying you actually didn't work hard for anything.
- 6:18Speaker 2: You haven't earned this. This is all luck.
- 6:20Speaker 1: That's not cool because at the end of the day,
- 6:22Speaker 1: most people that are doing something that you want to
- 6:24Speaker 1: be doing is because they had the ability to do
- 6:28Speaker 1: something day and day out, day and day out, whether
- 6:30Speaker 1: they wanted to or not, they stuck it out. It's
- 6:32Speaker 1: all these little things that they do on a daily
- 6:35Speaker 1: basis that gets them to that big achievement that from
- 6:39Speaker 1: the outset people look at it and say, wow, that's
- 6:41Speaker 1: such a big thing to achieve that in their head
- 6:43Speaker 1: they must think it.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Took one monumental moment.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Of change for them to achieve it, instead of realizing
- 6:49Speaker 1: that success is actually this daily chipping away at something.
- 6:54Speaker 1: And a lot of people don't like to admit that
- 6:57Speaker 1: because it's boring, because it doesn't sound fun, it's not
- 7:00Speaker 1: exciting that the reason they're so successful is because they
- 7:03Speaker 1: did all this tiny, menial, boring, mundane tasks that's not
- 7:07Speaker 1: fun to talk about. Well, unfortunately, that's just the truth.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Success comes from doing all these things. Like I hate
- 7:14Speaker 1: it when people say to me, oh, you know the reason,
- 7:18Speaker 1: Oh you know like if I get a distinction or
- 7:20Speaker 1: or you know, if I work my fucking ass off
- 7:24Speaker 1: and I get a hard distinction at UNI and I
- 7:26Speaker 1: get told, oh my god, you're just naturally smart, like
- 7:29Speaker 1: that's amazing, Like you just you know, you're just.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Gifted, gifted.
- 7:34Speaker 1: What do you know how hard I spent working for
- 7:38Speaker 1: that mark? Do you know how many hours I spent?
- 7:40Speaker 1: Do you know how many like moments of feeling like,
- 7:43Speaker 1: oh my god, I need to really fucking change my
- 7:46Speaker 1: mindset before I have a mental breakdown because I don't
- 7:48Speaker 1: think I'm going to be able to submit this essay,
- 7:50Speaker 1: like do you know how many how much I have
- 7:53Speaker 1: to go through to get that result? And then for
- 7:55Speaker 1: someone to turn around and say no, no, but like
- 7:57Speaker 1: you're just you're naturally smart. It's like a fuck you
- 8:00Speaker 1: says you didn't earn this. That's what it feels like,
- 8:03Speaker 1: you know, like stop, like just pay attention to your language.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Are you not giving people credit for their work and
- 8:10Speaker 1: in turn believing that the only reason you can achieve
- 8:13Speaker 1: something is due to luck. Because if that's the case,
- 8:15Speaker 1: give up, stop trying to do anything, stop trying to work.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Your attitude's cooked anyway, and just sit on your ass,
- 8:21Speaker 1: because if you're gonna achieve anything, it's gonna be fucking luck.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So why bother, why bother putting in the work, do
- 8:27Speaker 1: you know what I mean? It's a pathetic mindset to
- 8:29Speaker 1: have and change it. The sooner you change that mindset
- 8:33Speaker 1: that you know luck plays a part, then the sooner
- 8:37Speaker 1: you're gonna start achieving shit, and the sooner you're gonna
- 8:39Speaker 1: start actioning shit because you're gonna realize, wait a minute,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna stop being a weak fucking dog and realize
- 8:45Speaker 1: that it's actually action that's gonna get me there. And
- 8:48Speaker 1: if I was to fucking pull my fucking finger out
- 8:51Speaker 1: and start taking this action on a daily basis, I
- 8:54Speaker 1: would get there, just like those people that are doing
- 8:55Speaker 1: what I want to be doing, I would get there.
- 8:58Speaker 1: It's way more achievable than you think. But it's consistency
- 9:02Speaker 1: and it's showing up again and again and again. That's
- 9:05Speaker 1: the difference. Are you prepared or are you not? There's
- 9:09Speaker 1: going to be certain things that are going to be
- 9:10Speaker 1: fucking boring or just uncomfortable, But are you or are
- 9:13Speaker 1: you not prepared? Because at the end of the day,
- 9:15Speaker 1: the people that are doing the things that you want
- 9:17Speaker 1: to be doing, are doing something that you're not prepared
- 9:19Speaker 1: to be doing, and if you are prepared to be
- 9:21Speaker 1: doing it great Listen to the rest of this podcast.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Let's take some fucking action to make some serious change.
