- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five Walking Sports and
- 0:08Speaker 1: they go a whizz. So, yeah, it's too bad, But
- 0:11Speaker 1: what did you expect. It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Wine, Welcome and blow it. We'll start with a Thunder
- 0:23Speaker 2: losing big time. I didn't even stay to watch the
- 0:26Speaker 2: end of the game.
- 0:26Speaker 1: It didn't need to.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It was so out of control. But I did that
- 0:29Speaker 2: on purpose because most time it's goen, I fall asleep.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's the alternate outcome happens.
- 0:34Speaker 1: But no, dude, they were down by so much. They've
- 0:36Speaker 1: been down with all their starters.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah, by twenty five, and I'm like, I'm gonna go
- 0:38Speaker 2: to sleep, Please God let them win. And I opened
- 0:40Speaker 2: it up this morning and they kept blowing out.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah it was over. So yeah, that sucked. Uh.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Game seven, I mean Thunder needs to step it up.
- 0:49Speaker 2: That'll be a fun game. It's gonna be in Oklahoma City.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Halliburton was hurt. Yeah, so I think you only like
- 0:56Speaker 2: fourteen points. I have a seat in front of me.
- 0:57Speaker 2: But he was like plus twenty five. He played well.
- 1:00Speaker 2: That crowd was going crazy. I watched crazy mid first
- 1:03Speaker 2: quarter through almost through halftime. I didn't come back after halftime.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I just watched the score and it went to bed
- 1:08Speaker 2: before the fourth quarter started, hopefully thinking that me going
- 1:11Speaker 2: to bed would changed the outcome. It didn't. But if
- 1:14Speaker 2: Oklahomas City wins, Eddie, you're safe and your we're safe.
- 1:17Speaker 1: No thong on me.
- 1:19Speaker 2: If if they lose, tho. If they lose, and if
- 1:21Speaker 2: they win, I get a very expensive dinner from doctor
- 1:24Speaker 2: Josie and her husband.
- 1:25Speaker 1: But if they lose, then I gotta pay for one.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Oh man, did do you expect a seven game series?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Nope? I, based on the odds, expected a four game series,
- 1:36Speaker 2: right right? What are the odds now for?
- 1:39Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:39Speaker 2: See, I can look it up, but I can imagine.
- 1:42Speaker 2: If I were guessing, I would say it's Oklahoma City
- 1:45Speaker 2: minus live oh five?
- 1:47Speaker 1: Do you think still I'm just guessing, man, I would
- 1:50Speaker 1: think it's pretty I'd go down to maybe minus one
- 1:53Speaker 1: fifty in Oklahoma City though I know I get it,
- 1:55Speaker 1: But dude, Pacers are playing hard.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, they've great defense.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Did you see? I mean you're talking about defense? Right?
- 2:02Speaker 2: I watched a half of ball, so they played great.
- 2:04Speaker 1: This might have been this might have been early, and
- 2:05Speaker 1: you might have seen this, but uh, McConnell on Hartenstein.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I mean, dude, you're talking a giant man with a
- 2:14Speaker 1: little point guard, and the point guard like blocks him,
- 2:19Speaker 1: gets a steal even from him.
- 2:21Speaker 2: NBA Finals, Here we go seven and a half? Who
- 2:25Speaker 2: Thunder minus seven and a half.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Oh, then Eddie two nineties the money line, Wow.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I wouldn't. I was just gonna stay away from it.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I'm not betting it, but I do hope thunderwin.
- 2:37Speaker 1: At this point, you know, it's like who knows what's
- 2:38Speaker 1: gonna happen. So yeah, the bets are tough.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You know who else choked you?
- 2:43Speaker 1: That's not That was not a choke.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So we're going into the last hole. Well, we played
- 2:47Speaker 2: golf yesterday, me, Eddie and my manager Tom, and we go.
- 2:50Speaker 2: We're playing and Eddie is up on me by two
- 2:52Speaker 2: strokes going into whole seventeen. Has a really bad hole seventeen.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I doubled.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I parted whole seventeen. So we're tied going into eighteen,
- 2:59Speaker 2: which is a par five, and I make a par
- 3:02Speaker 2: put from about leven I know, a birdie putt from
- 3:04Speaker 2: about eleven feet out. Kevinan pulled a JJ spawn. Well,
- 3:07Speaker 2: Eddie had to make up the birdie putt. From even
- 3:10Speaker 2: closer six.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Feet Kevin, my my third my yeah, for my shot
- 3:14Speaker 1: to get on the green for my birdie putt was
- 3:17Speaker 1: probably five feet away. Bobby's was probably twelve feet away.
- 3:22Speaker 1: He drills his birdie putt and I miss mine.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Dang with the pressure on, you couldn't handle it or yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 3: I couldn't crumble.
- 3:28Speaker 1: No, dude, it's not. It wouldn't choke or anything. It's
- 3:31Speaker 1: just you know what, though, I was thinking into this game, like,
- 3:33Speaker 1: I hope it's close. I hope somebody doesn't hit in
- 3:36Speaker 1: the woods, because that's the worst when you're going tired
- 3:38Speaker 1: and then somebody's hits it in the woods and that's
- 3:40Speaker 1: not the worst one.
- 3:40Speaker 2: It's not you.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I don't like that though.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I just want to win because even if you would
- 3:45Speaker 2: have hit it in the woods, I would have been like, yes,
- 3:47Speaker 2: I win, But I mean it's not I didn't feel
- 3:49Speaker 2: like a win because he went ob in this dude,
- 3:51Speaker 2: we were both level even. But what about seventeen though,
- 3:55Speaker 2: were you really I wouldn't do Honestly, I didn't even
- 3:58Speaker 2: look at the score, so I thought I was way up.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And not only that, I didn't take the right clubs
- 4:02Speaker 2: out because his car path only. I took a hybrid out,
- 4:05Speaker 2: which three hybrid for me is probably like two ten.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Like if I hit it right and.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I was I get out, I don't have one sixty shot.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, He's like, you're only won sixty and I'm like,
- 4:13Speaker 2: you know what, I'm not walking back to the car.
- 4:16Speaker 2: So I take a hybrid. H had like three fourths,
- 4:19Speaker 2: put it on the green. It was about a sixty
- 4:21Speaker 2: foot putt, but it was on the back of the green. Yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 2: and yeah, I felt pretty good about that car.
- 4:25Speaker 1: There's a guy that we play with that when it's
- 4:28Speaker 1: car path only, he'll take his whole bag and the
- 4:31Speaker 1: balls on the this side of the fairway, he'll take
- 4:33Speaker 1: his whole bag. You know what I'm talking about.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Just you gotta strap it back every time.
- 4:41Speaker 1: The answers never take your whole bag. But that's what
- 4:43Speaker 1: this guy does.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It Just what's the max clubs that you would take? Oh,
- 4:47Speaker 2: I take four or five, or I really need to
- 4:49Speaker 2: if it's a long track, I'll take four or five.
- 4:51Speaker 1: You have an idea, right like wherever you park on
- 4:54Speaker 1: the car path, you know, if you're one hundred and
- 4:55Speaker 1: fifty ish, so you got like three or four clubs
- 4:58Speaker 1: to choose from.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, Drake revealed he's lost eight million dollars gambling this month.
- 5:04Speaker 1: This month, it does okay, you always talk about what's
- 5:08Speaker 1: the word you use where like my one dollar is
- 5:11Speaker 1: your one hundred like ratio? Yeah, so is that his ratio?
- 5:15Speaker 4: Unit?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Oh? No, unit? Unit? Got it?
- 5:17Speaker 4: So?
- 5:17Speaker 1: Is that his unit to where he's doing what I'm
- 5:19Speaker 1: doing and you're doing.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I don't know what his unit is. I'll read you
- 5:22Speaker 2: the story because it doesn't talk about how much he's
- 5:25Speaker 2: betting on each bet. Because my unit is one hundred
- 5:27Speaker 2: dollars for a bet, Yeah, my unit is that would
- 5:31Speaker 2: be equal to my five dollars. Is that where your unit?
- 5:33Speaker 4: Normal unit?
- 5:34Speaker 2: On like one bet that you just feel pretty good about?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Us just five bucks? Five bucks, So mine's one hundred.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And like I bet Arkansas, I'll bet a thousand bucks
- 5:41Speaker 2: and the win the national championship. I talked about that later.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It sucks.
- 5:45Speaker 2: So that was a ten unit bet and yours would
- 5:47Speaker 2: have been like a fifty dollars big bet.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Correct.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It doesn't say what Drake bets in each bet, but
- 5:52Speaker 2: it says he lost eight million dollars just this month.
- 5:55Speaker 2: He placed close to one hundred and twenty five million
- 5:57Speaker 2: dollars in bets over the last month. He also wagered
- 6:00Speaker 2: significant money on Fortnite. He's down on that too, to
- 6:03Speaker 2: the two individually six million dollars quote got to share
- 6:06Speaker 2: the other side of gambling, Drake wrote in a caption
- 6:08Speaker 2: on Instagram, losses are so fried right now. I hope
- 6:10Speaker 2: I can post a big win for you soon because
- 6:12Speaker 2: I'm the only one that has never seen a max.
- 6:15Speaker 2: These guys once a week I know that means. So, yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 2: that's what's up.
- 6:20Speaker 3: So he's been bet on Fortnite? Like, do you play somebody?
- 6:22Speaker 1: I think himself? Right, he's probably been on himself.
- 6:24Speaker 2: No idea, Mike. Do you know how people bet on Fortnite?
- 6:26Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I don't know if you can. I wouldn't trust that
- 6:29Speaker 2: because I wouldn't trust the players that I were playing
- 6:31Speaker 2: against didn't have some of the you know, aiming technology
- 6:35Speaker 2: that they say is unfair.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Well maybe it's his buddies or something.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you bet on Fortnite? Can you just
- 6:40Speaker 2: bet on two sports? Betting site? Though? Oh? Esports? Oh,
- 6:45Speaker 2: I've watched esports on television before. That makes sense.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Oh, so he's been on other people playing Fortnite. Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 1: that's that's next level dude. That's Drake. Hey, Drake, we
- 6:54Speaker 1: have a friend named Reid.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah. But I would say that Drake has so much money,
- 6:58Speaker 2: he's just bored more than he has a problem. This
- 7:02Speaker 2: feels like boredom betting more than just chasing, like something
- 7:05Speaker 2: to bet.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Well, then he needs to not get bored.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I don't know. It just depends like how much money
- 7:11Speaker 2: you have, Like we don't understand because we don't have
- 7:15Speaker 2: that kind of money. But I don't want to pocket watch,
- 7:18Speaker 2: that's right, pocket Watch. He also bets on cricket. He
- 7:21Speaker 2: bet seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars under cricket.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Man, does he even know how that works?
- 7:26Speaker 2: Drake reportedly has an endorsement deal with the gambling platform
- 7:30Speaker 2: Steak that pays him one hundred million annually, theoretically enough
- 7:33Speaker 2: to cover his bets. He still he appears to be
- 7:35Speaker 2: wagering more than he's making in this month, he's deep
- 7:37Speaker 2: in the red. But just because you bet it doesn't
- 7:39Speaker 2: mean you lost it. So if he bet one hundred
- 7:41Speaker 2: and twenty five and he's down eight, there was a
- 7:42Speaker 2: time we were keeping up with my bets correct, and
- 7:44Speaker 2: I bet like eighty thousand dollars through a season, but
- 7:47Speaker 2: that's in wins and losses, and I was down like
- 7:50Speaker 2: eighteen hundred bucks or something. Yeah, yeah, but it's still
- 7:53Speaker 2: a crazy number, which is why I brought the story up.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And you don't think though, the fact that he's betting
- 7:57Speaker 1: cricket and fortnite, there's not a lit a little issue,
- 8:01Speaker 1: not that he's in danger of losing money anything, but
- 8:03Speaker 1: there's an addiction issue.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I don't know that it's addiction. It could be that.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I don't know because I I'm addicted. I hate to
- 8:12Speaker 2: say the word addiction if I really don't mean it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I don't throw that word around lightly. So I don't know.
- 8:18Speaker 2: But I would think he has so much money that
- 8:20Speaker 2: if it is an obsession, there's a difference in obsession
- 8:22Speaker 2: and addiction. If it is an obsession or an addiction,
- 8:25Speaker 2: it is not affecting him in a way that is
- 8:28Speaker 2: hurting him because he makes so much money. It would
- 8:30Speaker 2: be like if I were addicted or obsessed with doing.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Squats, well, that'd be good, you'd have great legs.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Unless it was unless all the time, that's all I
- 8:41Speaker 2: could think about it was running my marriage unless it
- 8:43Speaker 2: was running my Yes, I can't really. I just want
- 8:47Speaker 2: to talk about how much money that he was in
- 8:48Speaker 2: the middle of the plane squats that he was gambling
- 8:52Speaker 2: on the aisle. Mike, do we want to go to
- 8:56Speaker 2: Jamora now or do you want to come back now?
- 8:58Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Okay, So here's my chat with Yukon head football coach
- 9:02Speaker 2: Jim Mora junior. Coach Moore led the program of their
- 9:04Speaker 2: first winning season since twenty ten last year. That's crazy,
- 9:08Speaker 2: they haven't won since twenty ten.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It's a long time.
- 9:10Speaker 2: That is a long time. They went nine to four
- 9:12Speaker 2: last year, got the first Bowl victory. Coach Moore was
- 9:15Speaker 2: also the head coach of the Falcons when Mike Vick
- 9:17Speaker 2: was on the team, so we talked about that. Big
- 9:19Speaker 2: thanks to coach for coming on here. He is coach
- 9:21Speaker 2: Jim Mora junior. Hey, coach, thanks for your time. I
- 9:24Speaker 2: have a lot of questions because Yukon to me football wise.
- 9:29Speaker 2: When I used to play with Yukon back in Ncuba football,
- 9:31Speaker 2: the first time, they were terrible. I never wanted to
- 9:33Speaker 2: play with them because they were terrible. They're starting to
- 9:35Speaker 2: get pretty good. Like NCAA twenty five pretty good. I
- 9:39Speaker 2: credit you with Yukon being a little better on the
- 9:41Speaker 2: video game, coach.
- 9:42Speaker 4: We're getting better. Yeah, I actually walked in. One of
- 9:45Speaker 4: our guys was playing it the other day. They call
- 9:48Speaker 4: it the game. Now, you know. I got to stay
- 9:51Speaker 4: up with these young guys. But we were actually I
- 9:53Speaker 4: think we were beating Duke or something. I was fired up.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Yukon. Honestly, before you and even when you first
- 10:01Speaker 2: started at Yukon, obviously you've had a big hill to climb,
- 10:04Speaker 2: but yukon't and no offense to anybody there, but u
- 10:07Speaker 2: Kon was like known as the worst like before you
- 10:10Speaker 2: got there, like the worst football school. So my question
- 10:12Speaker 2: to you, as somebody who has been in the pros
- 10:14Speaker 2: and at UCLA and have had all these jobs, why
- 10:16Speaker 2: would you say yes to that?
- 10:19Speaker 4: I get that question a lot, Bobby. I've been out
- 10:22Speaker 4: of football for four years. I was working at ESPN
- 10:24Speaker 4: doing those types of things. But I just had the
- 10:27Speaker 4: itch to coach, and I love you know, I've spent
- 10:29Speaker 4: thirty years in the NFL, obviously, but I love college football.
- 10:32Speaker 4: And this was the first job to come open. As
- 10:35Speaker 4: they said, I'd been working at ESPN, so i'd spent
- 10:38Speaker 4: a lot of time in Connecticut. I liked it here
- 10:40Speaker 4: and I love the challenge. You know, I love to
- 10:42Speaker 4: go uphill. I mean, I love hard things, and so
- 10:45Speaker 4: I figured this would be a great challenge to take on.
- 10:48Speaker 4: And knew if I had the support of the administration,
- 10:50Speaker 4: surrounded myself with good play, good people, you know, was
- 10:53Speaker 4: able to recruit some good players, that we'd have a
- 10:55Speaker 4: chance to be successful. I mean, you know, we got
- 10:57Speaker 4: a long ways to go, but I feel like we're
- 10:59Speaker 4: on the right track and it's been it's been a blast.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Like I said, I love hard things. I love challenges.
- 11:05Speaker 4: You know, I live in the mountains when I'm not
- 11:07Speaker 4: here in Connecticut, and going uphill, mountain biking, hike and
- 11:10Speaker 4: mountain climbing, skinning, those types of things would turn me on.
- 11:13Speaker 4: So this was just another challenge.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I'm curious and we can get as granular as you'd like,
- 11:18Speaker 2: but I'm curious about turning a program around because year one,
- 11:22Speaker 2: when you're hired, that means someone had to leave, so
- 11:25Speaker 2: you didn't have the same advantage of having all that
- 11:28Speaker 2: time to recruit. And this is before an il, before
- 11:31Speaker 2: you could just run, and so you're already coming in
- 11:35Speaker 2: year one at a disadvantage with a program that is disadvantaged.
- 11:41Speaker 2: So what what's the goal? And not a wins and
- 11:43Speaker 2: losses goal, but what's the goal in year one? In
- 11:46Speaker 2: order to create that pivot point?
- 11:48Speaker 4: The goals create the right mindset, you know, develop the
- 11:51Speaker 4: culture that you think is conducive to winning. Convinced people
- 11:57Speaker 4: that you're trustworthy and you know, worthy of being followed,
- 12:01Speaker 4: Be ultra demanding, consistent as can be, and really try
- 12:05Speaker 4: to pull as much out of your staff and players
- 12:07Speaker 4: as you can. And I walked in with at least
- 12:10Speaker 4: a little bit of credibility, having been in the NFL
- 12:12Speaker 4: and having some success there, having success at UCLA. And
- 12:18Speaker 4: then we got off to a pretty rough start and
- 12:20Speaker 4: we kind of regrouped and the players just kept believing.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I kept stressing the same things, you know, discipline, toughness, accountability, work, ethic,
- 12:30Speaker 4: stand focused out, preparing our opponents, you know, all those
- 12:32Speaker 4: things you know together it's all a bunch of coaches speak,
- 12:36Speaker 4: but it's all true stuff. And when your players embrace that,
- 12:40Speaker 4: you have a chance. And then we had a couple
- 12:41Speaker 4: of wins that were, I guess at that time, kind
- 12:44Speaker 4: of breakthrough wins. And so players in they believe a
- 12:46Speaker 4: little bit more and what you're talking about, and you've
- 12:50Speaker 4: got to capitalize on it. You know, in our second
- 12:52Speaker 4: year we struggled. We went back to three and nine
- 12:56Speaker 4: and there were some things that happened, and in this
- 12:58Speaker 4: past year we kind of got it going in the
- 13:00Speaker 4: right direction again. I think that second year, not having
- 13:03Speaker 4: a lot of nil money hurt us. As the portal
- 13:05Speaker 4: was starting to open, we weren't able to really replenish
- 13:08Speaker 4: our team with guys that we needed. But this year,
- 13:11Speaker 4: you know, our administration has always been behind us one
- 13:13Speaker 4: hundred percent. Our president's been behind us hundred percent. But
- 13:17Speaker 4: we've got some we've got some resources now that are
- 13:20Speaker 4: allowing us to make some real progress.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you won nine games last year. I was kind
- 13:24Speaker 2: of looking through some of the historical stuff at Yukon Football.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I think it's the third time that's ever happened where
- 13:29Speaker 2: the team has won nine games. How many of those games?
- 13:32Speaker 4: It's kind of sad, isn't it.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Well, except for it was last year, right, you're right? Yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 2: Like I said, the program was just known. I won't
- 13:40Speaker 2: even say bad. I would say they it seemed to
- 13:42Speaker 2: me as they just invested in other places, and that
- 13:45Speaker 2: would be basketball and some of the other sports they've
- 13:48Speaker 2: been really good at. And so but it's and you
- 13:50Speaker 2: can tell me if I'm wrong here, it seems to
- 13:52Speaker 2: me now you have brought in a culture where now
- 13:54Speaker 2: they kind of have to invest to prove that they're
- 13:58Speaker 2: invested in football in general, because you've shown you can win.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Yeah, so, Bobby, So, our goal is to get into
- 14:03Speaker 4: a Power four conference. And you know, as good as
- 14:06Speaker 4: our basketball has been, you know, which is I mean,
- 14:08Speaker 4: it's unprecedent of success they've had in men's and women's
- 14:10Speaker 4: basketball here, but in order to get into a power
- 14:13Speaker 4: four conference where we can compete, you know, with the
- 14:16Speaker 4: big boys and especially the money that comes from television revenues,
- 14:19Speaker 4: we need to not be an anchor as a football team.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And we were a little bit of an anchor. We
- 14:23Speaker 4: were holding things back. So you know, it's our job
- 14:26Speaker 4: to become relevant where conferences find us appealing, you know,
- 14:32Speaker 4: and they want us to join because we add value.
- 14:34Speaker 4: And I think there was a time here where you know,
- 14:37Speaker 4: the football was dragging the other programs down a little
- 14:41Speaker 4: bit in terms of trying to ascend to a Power
- 14:43Speaker 4: five or a Power four conference now, so you know
- 14:47Speaker 4: that's on the horizon for us. We hope, I know
- 14:48Speaker 4: we're working diligently, diligently to it. But football has to
- 14:53Speaker 4: be relevant in order for that to happen, and our
- 14:56Speaker 4: our people understand that. Our administration understands that, and they've
- 15:01Speaker 4: been really, really supportive.
- 15:03Speaker 2: It's interesting what power for conference Yukon would fit? Is
- 15:08Speaker 2: it the ACC? Is that where you think the most
- 15:11Speaker 2: natural fit would be? I mean, step I would say, well,
- 15:13Speaker 2: it's definitely not It could be the Big Ten, it
- 15:15Speaker 2: could be I mean, it could be anywhere, because Stanford
- 15:18Speaker 2: plays all the way across the country. But where where
- 15:20Speaker 2: do you think the most natural fit geographically? Let's say
- 15:23Speaker 2: you have a couple seasons of winning eight, nine ten games.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Where do you think geographically makes sense?
- 15:28Speaker 4: Well, geographically, the ACC makes sense. But I don't think
- 15:32Speaker 4: we're going to be picky. I think it's going to
- 15:34Speaker 4: depend on, you know, what basketball, what the basketball situation
- 15:39Speaker 4: is in the conference. And you know, we had some
- 15:41Speaker 4: discussions with the Big twelve, Peter Yormax trying to do
- 15:46Speaker 4: a really good job there building that into a successful
- 15:49Speaker 4: basketball conference. We know the ACC has a great basketball history.
- 15:53Speaker 4: I think, you know, that'll probably be the driving force
- 15:57Speaker 4: just because Yukon is such a great basketball school. For me,
- 16:01Speaker 4: I don't really care. I just want to compete for
- 16:03Speaker 4: a chance to be the best. I want to compete
- 16:06Speaker 4: against the best to be the best. And you know,
- 16:09Speaker 4: we're not going to be satisfied until you know, we're
- 16:11Speaker 4: in a position where we at least know we have
- 16:13Speaker 4: a chance to go win championships, whether it be conference
- 16:17Speaker 4: championships or maybe eventually down the road, national championships. And
- 16:21Speaker 4: we're long ways from that. But that's if that's not
- 16:24Speaker 4: the goal, Bobby, to be the best, then why you're
- 16:26Speaker 4: doing something. And that's our goal is to be the best.
- 16:29Speaker 4: We understand, you know the road is long and hard,
- 16:32Speaker 4: but shoot, man, that's what we're after.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Are you finding it harder to have teams schedule your
- 16:37Speaker 2: years out now that you guys are building.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Not really. You know, we've done a good job of scheduling.
- 16:45Speaker 4: You know, I think we have a good schedule for us.
- 16:47Speaker 4: We're always going to play four or five Power Conference teams,
- 16:50Speaker 4: which is important. Typically they're ACC teams, which maybe he
- 16:54Speaker 4: lends itself more to the discussion about the ACC being
- 16:56Speaker 4: a future. But I don't worry about that. Our athletic director,
- 16:59Speaker 4: Dave with Benedict does a great job with all that.
- 17:01Speaker 4: I just worry about the football team being as good
- 17:04Speaker 4: as we can be, as competitive as we can be,
- 17:06Speaker 4: so that if that opportunity to exists, then we're ready
- 17:09Speaker 4: to go. You know, we don't ever want to think
- 17:11Speaker 4: about going into a conference and being the doormat. So
- 17:14Speaker 4: our recruiting, our process, the way we coach, the way
- 17:19Speaker 4: we teach, you know, it's very NFL level if we
- 17:22Speaker 4: go into a conference. We want to go into a
- 17:23Speaker 4: conference and be ready to compete immediately at the highest level,
- 17:28Speaker 4: not be a doormat.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I convinced me, coach, because I hate the cold, and
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, you CON's really been trending up.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I can't. I can't take that. I hate the cold.
- 17:37Speaker 2: What do you say to somebody who's.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Like that, Well, it's the spring, the summer, the fall
- 17:42Speaker 4: are absolutely gorgeous. I mean, you know you hear about
- 17:45Speaker 4: fall in New England. I'm a West Coast guy. I
- 17:47Speaker 4: think you're a West Coast guy, aren't you.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I'm an everywhere guy, coach, I'm all, I'm everywhere, but
- 17:51Speaker 2: a cold guy, I don't want any cold.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Yeah, well we have a we have a beautiful indoor
- 17:56Speaker 4: facility so we can stay out of the cold. And
- 17:59Speaker 4: we give our warm weather guys from Georgia and Florida
- 18:01Speaker 4: and Texas. We give them big old warm jackets and
- 18:03Speaker 4: they don't complain. And uh, you know, hey, that's listen.
- 18:08Speaker 4: When I'm not here, I live in the mountains of Idaho,
- 18:10Speaker 4: so I like the cold. So uh it's hard for
- 18:13Speaker 4: me to, you know, understand people that don't want diverse environments.
- 18:17Speaker 4: So now we have this beautiful indoor so we're not
- 18:20Speaker 4: out in the cold a lot.
- 18:21Speaker 2: And Idaho's awesome. I went up. I had a show
- 18:24Speaker 2: on that GEO for a while, and I went up
- 18:25Speaker 2: and we went into we were staying in Boise, but
- 18:28Speaker 2: then we traveled out a bit. And I've said to
- 18:31Speaker 2: my show many times that I like Idaho and what
- 18:34Speaker 2: it provides more than I do Hawaii, and it contracts
- 18:37Speaker 2: everything I just said to you about being warm and cold.
- 18:39Speaker 2: But I don't like the beach. But I think Idaho
- 18:42Speaker 2: is like one of the greatest hidden treasures in America.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Your thoughts, coach, Let's keep it hidden. Idaho sucks.
- 18:52Speaker 4: In the sun Valley, Idaho, which you know, I'm a
- 18:55Speaker 4: mountain guy. I like to I like to fly fish,
- 18:57Speaker 4: I like to hike. I like the mountain and climb.
- 19:00Speaker 4: I love to ski. I can go out my back
- 19:03Speaker 4: door and go, uh put my skins on, which allows
- 19:07Speaker 4: you to ski up his skin uphill, walk up hill
- 19:09Speaker 4: and ski back country right back into my yard. And
- 19:13Speaker 4: that's what I love to do in the summers, which
- 19:14Speaker 4: I'll be going out there here in a few days.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Mountain bike and like I said, fly fish. My buddy
- 19:20Speaker 4: just sent me some pictures of some twenty seven inch
- 19:22Speaker 4: browns he caught yesterday. So I'm excited to get back
- 19:25Speaker 4: on the river a little bit. Uh, but I want
- 19:28Speaker 4: to try to keep it a hidden gym, which will
- 19:30Speaker 4: be hard to do. Now that I'm talking to Bobby Bones.
- 19:32Speaker 2: On the I've run it. I hate Idaho. Yeah yeah, So, uh,
- 19:36Speaker 2: do you have a favorite fishing picture because I got
- 19:38Speaker 2: a few of myself, but mine mine using our trout.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Are you so crowd? I'm a I'm a fly fisherman.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so your's a trout for the most part, right, yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 2: first always Yeah, Okay, so you have a favorite uh
- 19:49Speaker 2: picture of you? In a trout. Someone in your house,
- 19:52Speaker 2: I do on my phone.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yeah, tell me about it?
- 19:54Speaker 2: How big is it? What's the deal? How'd you catch it?
- 19:56Speaker 4: Well? This was actually an Alaska probably seven years ago,
- 20:02Speaker 4: fishing with a buddy of mine who's a guy I
- 20:04Speaker 4: played college ball with him at University of Washington. His
- 20:06Speaker 4: name is Kenny Baldwin. And we were in Alaska on
- 20:09Speaker 4: a fishing trip and it's probably it's probably twenty eight
- 20:12Speaker 4: to twenty nine inch rainbow. Caught it on a fly
- 20:17Speaker 4: and it was just amazing. You're out there, there's grizzly
- 20:20Speaker 4: bears all around. He's strapped with a gun, you know,
- 20:22Speaker 4: to protect us. And he took me to some pretty
- 20:25Speaker 4: interesting spots on these little river boats and we just
- 20:27Speaker 4: found amazing fish and it was it was awesome.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Have you had any of those days fly fishing where
- 20:33Speaker 2: you're just catching them like crazy.
- 20:35Speaker 4: I've had a few of those. But I also so
- 20:37Speaker 4: there's a there's a place in Sun Valley called Silver
- 20:40Speaker 4: Creek and it's a world renowned at least nationally renowned
- 20:43Speaker 4: placed to fish, and it's a it's a spring creek
- 20:46Speaker 4: and I go down there every year several times and
- 20:49Speaker 4: then like let's say eight years, Bobby, I have yet
- 20:52Speaker 4: to land a fish. And you know this sounds really silly,
- 20:56Speaker 4: but those fish are smart down there. Man. I've caught,
- 20:59Speaker 4: I've hooked several, but I've not got one to the
- 21:02Speaker 4: net yet. So the goal this summer is to get
- 21:04Speaker 4: one in the net and then you know, we do
- 21:07Speaker 4: catch and release, so that let it go gently. But
- 21:10Speaker 4: I need a picture of a fish from Silver Creek.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Like I said, my buddy sent me to yesterday twenty
- 21:15Speaker 4: seven inch browns out of Silver Creek, So I'm jealous.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the new picture on the phone. That's the
- 21:21Speaker 2: goal for the new picture on the phone. What's the
- 21:23Speaker 2: goal this season?
- 21:24Speaker 1: Coach?
- 21:24Speaker 2: You won nine games last year, so you know you
- 21:27Speaker 2: don't want to go back or but I don't know
- 21:28Speaker 2: what you're dealing with. Personnel wise.
- 21:30Speaker 4: We did a good job. I think upgrade our team
- 21:33Speaker 4: and the portal. Portal's a big deal right now. As
- 21:36Speaker 4: you know, you know you can kind of fill some spots,
- 21:39Speaker 4: some voids in your team really quickly with experienced players.
- 21:42Speaker 4: So I think you know it's to be better every
- 21:45Speaker 4: week we play. I hate to put I never actually
- 21:48Speaker 4: ever put a record goal on paper I mean, I
- 21:53Speaker 4: might have something in my mind, but I don't announce it.
- 21:56Speaker 4: When I was with the Falcons, out Arthur Blank at
- 21:59Speaker 4: the start of the year, we have board meetings and
- 22:00Speaker 4: he'd always put tell people, fill out what you think
- 22:03Speaker 4: our record is going to be, and I'd always put
- 22:06Speaker 4: one to oh, and he'd get, you know, he get
- 22:08Speaker 4: upset with me. No, I want to know what you
- 22:10Speaker 4: think the record's going to be. And I said, okay,
- 22:12Speaker 4: this one we played sixteen games. I'm like, Arthur, if
- 22:14Speaker 4: I say twelve and four, will you be happy? He goes, YEA,
- 22:16Speaker 4: I'd be happy with twelve and four. I said, well,
- 22:17Speaker 4: then tell me what four games you'll be happy losing,
- 22:20Speaker 4: you know so? And he couldn't figure that. He's like,
- 22:24Speaker 4: I don't have four I want to lose. Because Arthur's
- 22:26Speaker 4: also competitive, amazing person, but so we're one of those
- 22:29Speaker 4: teams it's always just want to know, just win this game,
- 22:32Speaker 4: focus on this game, don't think about the next game
- 22:34Speaker 4: until it's time to prepare for the next game. I
- 22:37Speaker 4: think that's you know, especially with young people this this
- 22:39Speaker 4: day and age, with the social media and this instant
- 22:42Speaker 4: access to information and everybody looking at everyone's highlights. It's
- 22:45Speaker 4: important to try to keep the focus and narrow, and
- 22:48Speaker 4: that's what we do.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I have three final questions, and I want to ask
- 22:50Speaker 2: about Arthur Blank. How did you feel about Arthur Blank
- 22:52Speaker 2: putting himself in the Hall of Honor?
- 22:54Speaker 4: He's the owner, you know, and I think amazing is
- 22:58Speaker 4: the owner. I mean, Arthur is a great guy. I
- 23:00Speaker 4: know people gave him trouble about it, but who else
- 23:02Speaker 4: is going to put you in the ring on honor
- 23:04Speaker 4: if you don't do it yourself as the owner? A man,
- 23:06Speaker 4: you know, And he deserved it. He's earned it. I
- 23:09Speaker 4: don't say he deserved it, he's earned it. I mean
- 23:11Speaker 4: he the things he's done for that city, for that program,
- 23:13Speaker 4: building that stadium. Uh, he's just a great guy. He's
- 23:18Speaker 4: a great guy. And I was really happy that it happened.
- 23:22Speaker 4: However it happened.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I agree. Everybody I know that knows him loves him.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And it's a weird thing.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It's a weird thing because you probably don't get put
- 23:29Speaker 2: in there unless you put yourself in there. But yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 2: you're gonna get some pushback. But it's like if I
- 23:33Speaker 2: did the Bobby Bones Hall of Honor, and I'm the
- 23:35Speaker 2: first member. You know, do I deserve to be? Absolutely?
- 23:38Speaker 4: But you're young? Yeah, I mean, you know Arthur's up there.
- 23:41Speaker 4: I mean the only way he'd get in it if
- 23:44Speaker 4: he didn't put himself in it is after he died,
- 23:46Speaker 4: the next owner put him in it.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what that what you says?
- 23:49Speaker 1: That?
- 23:49Speaker 2: What use says that? If you're dead, I don't want
- 23:51Speaker 2: to be in the Bobby Bones.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Yeah, So I'm I'm happy for him.
- 23:55Speaker 2: All right, two questions left, Mike Vick.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Jack, I got one for you at the end, So
- 23:59Speaker 4: save me a minute.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Okay, you got it. So that's okay. Now I'm scared.
- 24:02Speaker 2: We got Mike Vick As an athlete. What's it like
- 24:06Speaker 2: to see a guy that just pulls away from other
- 24:08Speaker 2: other I mean other athletes? Like what was he like?
- 24:12Speaker 4: He was unbelievable. Number one is he was a really
- 24:14Speaker 4: good person. He is a really good person. We stay
- 24:16Speaker 4: in touch. I'm happy he's coaching. He's going to have
- 24:19Speaker 4: a great impact on Norfolk State and all those student athletes.
- 24:21Speaker 4: But every single day, every single day on practice, on
- 24:25Speaker 4: the practice field, he would do something that you would
- 24:28Speaker 4: just let go. Did he just do that? I mean
- 24:31Speaker 4: the most unbelievable athlete I've ever been around. We're playing
- 24:35Speaker 4: the Carolina Panthers. Uh, we win the game. I think
- 24:38Speaker 4: we win the division or I don't know something. And
- 24:40Speaker 4: it's a fourth down and goal, and you know, if
- 24:44Speaker 4: we don't score touchdown, the game's over. Our coordinator we
- 24:47Speaker 4: call time out. Coordinator comes over and gives him, you know,
- 24:50Speaker 4: all these instructions, like you know, you gotta look here,
- 24:52Speaker 4: you gotta look at this guy. You gotta look at
- 24:54Speaker 4: that guy this year number one read. Mike starts to
- 24:56Speaker 4: run on the field. I bring him back and I go, hey, Mike,
- 24:59Speaker 4: I go listen, and man, if you don't like it,
- 25:01Speaker 4: just frigging run, just take off and go. And that's
- 25:04Speaker 4: that that. You can find it on YouTube a picture
- 25:06Speaker 4: of him diving into the end zone against Carolina, his
- 25:09Speaker 4: knees about an inch off the ground. And that was
- 25:12Speaker 4: the kind of guy he was, like you just like
- 25:14Speaker 4: I tell him every every week, just go be you.
- 25:16Speaker 4: You know, like we've worked hard all week. Your skill
- 25:19Speaker 4: set's improving, your understanding of the concepts are improving. But
- 25:23Speaker 4: at the end of the day, don't be paralyzed by
- 25:25Speaker 4: trying to do things that you're not comfortable doing just
- 25:28Speaker 4: go be you, and he was man. He was fun
- 25:31Speaker 4: to be around.
- 25:32Speaker 2: He is something just to watch, like his old YouTube
- 25:34Speaker 2: because obviously I watched it as a kid, but to
- 25:36Speaker 2: watch it now and to just see the separation at
- 25:40Speaker 2: almost at will, it's crazy to watch now that far
- 25:43Speaker 2: remove from it. Just how athletically superior he was.
- 25:46Speaker 4: His burst. Yeah, you know you remember that that that
- 25:49Speaker 4: game against the Vikings where he split the two defenders
- 25:52Speaker 4: and you'd see that every day. But his arm is
- 25:55Speaker 4: like a whip. I mean, there was that commercial who
- 25:58Speaker 4: was throwing it out of the stadium and I know
- 25:59Speaker 4: that that was you know, it wasn't real, but I
- 26:02Speaker 4: think he could probably do that.
- 26:03Speaker 1: It was.
- 26:05Speaker 4: I mean, he was a cultural icon and he made
- 26:08Speaker 4: a huge impact on this league. I think he changed
- 26:11Speaker 4: the direction of how people look at quarterbacks. And yeah,
- 26:14Speaker 4: he was really fun and just funded to know as
- 26:17Speaker 4: a person.
- 26:18Speaker 2: My final question for you, and then I'll take whatever
- 26:21Speaker 2: shots you want to take him here, But my final
- 26:23Speaker 2: so I and I'm curious about the new payout language
- 26:27Speaker 2: and IL language. I've read through it myself. I'd spend
- 26:30Speaker 2: a I would say a semi substantial amount of money
- 26:33Speaker 2: in anil with my team, and I know, like I
- 26:37Speaker 2: can pay five hundred and ninety nine dollars exactly in
- 26:39Speaker 2: ninety nine cents before it has to get reported through
- 26:41Speaker 2: the clearinghouse, and then the clearinghouse. They've been very good
- 26:43Speaker 2: at clearing some of the deals. Like I feel like
- 26:45Speaker 2: it's been anything I've submitted has come back within two
- 26:48Speaker 2: days max to go. We're all clear. You can do
- 26:51Speaker 2: social media with athletes. How has that been for you?
- 26:54Speaker 2: Did you read all the way through it or did
- 26:55Speaker 2: someone just kind of brief you because it is so new?
- 26:58Speaker 2: And then what does the school commit it to you
- 27:00Speaker 2: to pay out from their money?
- 27:02Speaker 4: No, I'm pretty educated on it. I think it's important
- 27:04Speaker 4: that I understand it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Uh.
- 27:07Speaker 4: You know, I'm not sure exactly where we're going to
- 27:09Speaker 4: be going into the twenty sixth season, but I can
- 27:12Speaker 4: tell you going into this season, we've done a really
- 27:16Speaker 4: nice job, especially where we were coming from. Our athletic
- 27:19Speaker 4: director has found ways to say yes to me rather
- 27:23Speaker 4: than say no. We've got a you know a great
- 27:25Speaker 4: group of donors in this program, leby guy named Mike
- 27:29Speaker 4: Burton who used to play here, who just you know,
- 27:31Speaker 4: they're committed to seeing the growth. And when you can
- 27:34Speaker 4: put improvement, you know, on they see improvement on the field,
- 27:37Speaker 4: and you go out and you play in the Finway
- 27:39Speaker 4: Bowl and you beat a team like North Carolina. Uh,
- 27:42Speaker 4: people get excited and they want to they want to invest,
- 27:45Speaker 4: and it's important that they do. But we'll be you know,
- 27:48Speaker 4: I saw what We're going to be close to fully
- 27:49Speaker 4: funded in twenty twenty six. Like I said, our athletic
- 27:52Speaker 4: director is amazing having a great basketball program and that
- 27:56Speaker 4: brand helps us as a football team. But I'm confident
- 28:01Speaker 4: that we'll have the resources we need to go compete
- 28:03Speaker 4: at the highest level.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Okay, coach, I'm ready for your question.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Let me get to number one. I was going to
- 28:09Speaker 4: ask you who your team is, but I see the
- 28:10Speaker 4: razorback there, so I'm assuming it's Arkansas. Yes, sir, that's
- 28:14Speaker 4: not my question.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Okay, that's your question. That's the coach. All right, that's it.
- 28:19Speaker 4: We got to wrap this up.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I'm kidding, coach, I'm kidding.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I'm kidding.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Okay, it's really This is really more of a story
- 28:24Speaker 4: that leads into a question. So when I was at UCLA,
- 28:26Speaker 4: I had this kid on my team named Barradell. He
- 28:29Speaker 4: was a walk on linebacker, a little kind of undersized
- 28:33Speaker 4: guy tougher in Hell. We're down at the Alamobile and
- 28:37Speaker 4: we have a talent show and he jumps up on
- 28:39Speaker 4: stage with his guitar and starts playing, and he was unbelievable.
- 28:45Speaker 4: So I had a couple of people in the music industry.
- 28:46Speaker 4: I'm a huge music fan. That's why I'm a big
- 28:48Speaker 4: fan of yours. I know who you are. I listen
- 28:50Speaker 4: to your stuff. I love your everything you're doing. So
- 28:53Speaker 4: I called a couple of people and was able to
- 28:56Speaker 4: make some connections. And now he is down in Nashville.
- 28:59Speaker 4: His name is Barred L. He's singing, he's trying to
- 29:02Speaker 4: make it in that business. So I just wanted to
- 29:04Speaker 4: get his name out there.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Spell for hold on, spell for I know, Yeah, I
- 29:09Speaker 2: know MARYUCIK. I know him through Rich Eisen, who I'm
- 29:11Speaker 2: friends with. But spell Bear Riddell real quick so I
- 29:13Speaker 2: can at least put up e E A R R
- 29:16Speaker 2: E E D E L got him. I'm making a note.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna check him out. Now here's the thing.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Sorry had to me to interrupt her the question, But
- 29:24Speaker 2: I'm going to listen to this. But coach, you know
- 29:26Speaker 2: how people will be like And this is what I
- 29:29Speaker 2: am lucky enough to get to do a lot is
- 29:30Speaker 2: to find artists who are great and either go, hey,
- 29:33Speaker 2: I want to feature you, or hey, you can do
- 29:35Speaker 2: this to get better. But a lot of times and
- 29:37Speaker 2: not saying this is the case, you know, someone to
- 29:39Speaker 2: say coaches got a great football player, and you're like, yeah,
- 29:41Speaker 2: in his hometown, he's a great ball player. But once
- 29:43Speaker 2: he gets to the big leagues, you know he's got
- 29:45Speaker 2: some learning to do. That happens a lot, and so
- 29:47Speaker 2: I'm really curious to see how good old Bear Ridell
- 29:50Speaker 2: is because he was a ballplayer, and a lot of
- 29:51Speaker 2: these artists now, like Sam Hunt, they were all former
- 29:53Speaker 2: ballplayers and they use that work ethic to actually get
- 29:56Speaker 2: good at music, which has been a really interesting thing
- 29:59Speaker 2: to watch over the past. So I'm gonna check him out.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Steve mary So the guy that used to manage Dave
- 30:04Speaker 4: Matthews as a friend of mine, and so I sent
- 30:06Speaker 4: him stuff to who huh who's your who? Uh? Well,
- 30:09Speaker 4: now see now you put me on the spot. I'm
- 30:11Speaker 4: trying to remember his name.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Well, listen, my manager is named Corn Capshaw, who put
- 30:16Speaker 2: Dave Matthews together and it still like owns the company
- 30:19Speaker 2: they're managed under. So whoever they're like green Light, Yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 2: I'm a red Light. That's my management company, no kidding.
- 30:25Speaker 4: So then you know this guy, I'll send you his name.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I can't remember it right off the hook. And if
- 30:28Speaker 4: he sees this, he's gonna be pissed at me.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Or not.
- 30:32Speaker 4: I'm on the spot though. But uh and then, so
- 30:35Speaker 4: I was gonna tell you about Mooch's son, So Steve
- 30:37Speaker 4: mary Ucha's son Stevie Ray Stephen Ray is in Nashville
- 30:41Speaker 4: trying to make it as well. So Mooch has a
- 30:43Speaker 4: son in Nashville on the country scene. I'm a huge
- 30:47Speaker 4: music fan, huge, huge, huge music fan. And uh so
- 30:52Speaker 4: I know, I mean listen, I'm listening to everybody and anybody.
- 30:56Speaker 4: I actually went out and bought myself so I wanted
- 30:58Speaker 4: to look.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Like you hold on, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy,
- 31:02Speaker 2: this is good.
- 31:02Speaker 4: No, you're gonna like this.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I like this.
- 31:04Speaker 4: I went and bought the Rayon Ray band metas I. Yes,
- 31:10Speaker 4: look that's it right there. People can walk into my
- 31:14Speaker 4: office so they don't know that I'm listening to music.
- 31:16Speaker 4: That's you. You got the music coming through here and
- 31:18Speaker 4: I looked like Bobby Bones.
- 31:19Speaker 2: That's all right, Well that part not cool. I'm gonna
- 31:22Speaker 2: check out your guys. I'm gonna check out Bear, I'm
- 31:23Speaker 2: gonna check out Stephen ray Uh, and I'm gonna listen.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I'm invested in Yukon. I really I hope you guys
- 31:29Speaker 2: have another I'll say a substantial season, because I think
- 31:34Speaker 2: you guys deserve to be in a Power four. And
- 31:35Speaker 2: if the PAC twelve are happens again, a Power five again,
- 31:37Speaker 2: we'll see, Hey, would you go to the PAC twelve
- 31:39Speaker 2: If they're like, hey, come to the PAC twelve?
- 31:41Speaker 4: Yeah, contractors enough, Yeah, I means travel across the country,
- 31:47Speaker 4: but they'd have to travel here some too, so yeah.
- 31:49Speaker 4: And I spent my you know, I played at Washington,
- 31:53Speaker 4: was at U c l A. My dad coached at Colorado,
- 31:55Speaker 4: U c l A, Stanford, So I'm kind of been
- 31:58Speaker 4: a PAC twelve guy most for my life.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Coach, Thank you so much for the time. It's been
- 32:03Speaker 2: awesome talking with you and we're in on Yukon. Hope
- 32:06Speaker 2: you have a great season. Hope you have a great
- 32:08Speaker 2: time in Idaho. Idaho sucks. Everybody, do not go to Idaho.
- 32:11Speaker 1: It is the worst.
- 32:13Speaker 2: No, don't go to Idaho and coach hopefully, well, we'll see.
- 32:16Speaker 2: We may come to a game up there. We may
- 32:17Speaker 2: just hitch you up and be like, hey, we want
- 32:18Speaker 2: to come watch. Yeah, that would be awesome. All right, coach,
- 32:22Speaker 2: talk to you soon. Thanks Coach.
- 32:24Speaker 4: All right, thanks Bobby.
- 32:27Speaker 2: I'm recording this on Thursday afternoon, and Arkansas baseball loss
- 32:31Speaker 2: last night. It was one of the really, one of
- 32:33Speaker 2: the worst losses I've ever experienced, except for it's one
- 32:35Speaker 2: of the worst losses I've ever experienced this month. I
- 32:38Speaker 2: legit feel bad for you. No, it's everything I know.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I just looked at this year even and I don't
- 32:43Speaker 2: want to make this all woe as me, but I
- 32:44Speaker 2: do have a question for you guys when I'm done.
- 32:46Speaker 2: I looked at just this year. We had the worst
- 32:48Speaker 2: come from behind loss in the NCAA Tournament in Sweet
- 32:52Speaker 2: sixteen history. To texta tech like, the worst loss ever
- 32:54Speaker 2: in history. We forget about that because it's been a
- 32:57Speaker 2: while now. Secondly, I can go to softball. We had
- 33:01Speaker 2: our first and second pitcher get food poisoning during the
- 33:04Speaker 2: Super Regional. Number one and number two get food poisoning
- 33:08Speaker 2: during the super Regional before you go into the College
- 33:10Speaker 2: World Series. I can go to football and I can
- 33:12Speaker 2: talk about a game. I mean, I can do Oklahoma
- 33:15Speaker 2: State where we lost that game in terrible fashion, but
- 33:18Speaker 2: then we just sucked too and it we won just
- 33:22Speaker 2: enough to like, keep the coaches around is the worst.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I'd rather just lose and switch out. But like that
- 33:26Speaker 2: Tennessee game, which we won, like that was fun for
- 33:29Speaker 2: a second, but we sucked all the rest of the time.
- 33:31Speaker 2: So it's like, well they wont Tennessee, keep the coaches,
- 33:33Speaker 2: and you're like, oh, this is not gonna be good.
- 33:36Speaker 2: And that's just this year, basketball, baseball, football, softball. The
- 33:40Speaker 2: baseball game I thought we won and I never think
- 33:45Speaker 2: we win, and I thought we won twice. Soud you
- 33:47Speaker 2: had the game even at the very very end, I thought.
- 33:52Speaker 2: So I just wanted to know to you guys, is
- 33:56Speaker 2: it just me or does everything I root for suck?
- 33:59Speaker 3: No, that's really bad. The first thing I thought of
- 34:01Speaker 3: was basketball. I was like, oh my gosh, basketball just
- 34:03Speaker 3: happened like two months ago, and then now there's this
- 34:06Speaker 3: there's no way, there's like a curse on Arkansas. And
- 34:09Speaker 3: I truly, like, I don't really feel bad for fan
- 34:12Speaker 3: bases a lot, But I truly feel bad for you.
- 34:15Speaker 2: We're not annoying because we don't win. Like if we
- 34:18Speaker 2: won a lot and then had some bad stuff happen,
- 34:20Speaker 2: you're like, oh haha, there's no reason to not feel
- 34:24Speaker 2: bad for us. We don't have any over the top,
- 34:27Speaker 2: really arrogant fans because we have nothing to be arrogant about.
- 34:31Speaker 2: But we have money like every other school does. Yep,
- 34:33Speaker 2: it's not like we're a poverty program for real. We're
- 34:36Speaker 2: in the SEC. We have plenty of money. We have
- 34:38Speaker 2: the great we have the best baseball facilities, we have
- 34:42Speaker 2: B level football facilities, we have a minus basketball facilities,
- 34:46Speaker 2: maybe the best arena in the SEC. And all the
- 34:48Speaker 2: money coming in though nil, Like, it just sucks because
- 34:50Speaker 2: we lose everything. Even we're really good at something, we
- 34:52Speaker 2: find a way to be terrible. But does it make
- 34:54Speaker 2: you feel a little better that you're so you're good
- 34:58Speaker 2: enough to be that close? No, because even when we
- 35:00Speaker 2: get that close, we lose it in dramatic fashion. If
- 35:03Speaker 2: we were just good and we lost that game five
- 35:05Speaker 2: to two and they pitched a great game, it's like
- 35:07Speaker 2: that sucks. Expectations were high, but we didn't get there.
- 35:12Speaker 2: But no, we three times blew that baseball game in
- 35:17Speaker 2: the NCAA tournament. It was the biggest come from behind
- 35:20Speaker 2: in the history of the Sweet sixteen. That's how we lost.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Let me ask you, this, is there something that we
- 35:25Speaker 2: don't know as far as I sell my soul in
- 35:27Speaker 2: ninety four win a championship three to.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Like Arkansas president and like, I don't know, Babe Ruth
- 35:35Speaker 3: for something.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Something, something's up. And I got more texts last night,
- 35:40Speaker 2: like condolence is texts and do you like those?
- 35:42Speaker 1: Do you want it?
- 35:43Speaker 2: It depends on who it's from. So no, I don't
- 35:45Speaker 2: want it. I don't want anybody texting me, but I
- 35:47Speaker 2: got a couple of softball Ricky texted me and said
- 35:51Speaker 2: at nine thirty two pm, all I said was dude,
- 35:55Speaker 2: dot dot I'm sorry. I mean that's nice, And I said,
- 36:00Speaker 2: we're just terrible to everything. Even when we're good, we
- 36:02Speaker 2: end up being terrible at it.
- 36:03Speaker 1: The way you say it too, like you're so defeated and.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I shouldn't be. I keep walking back to the stove,
- 36:10Speaker 2: burning my hand and going, oh, what what just happened?
- 36:13Speaker 1: But that's sports man, it's not Yes, we all.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Do that if it was just football. It's just baseball,
- 36:19Speaker 2: just basketball, it's not just sports.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Are you going to bail on your team, the team
- 36:23Speaker 1: that you've loved here.
- 36:23Speaker 2: And I never have, right, I never would. But the stove, No,
- 36:27Speaker 2: it's not. The stove is me being so disappointed over
- 36:29Speaker 2: and over again when it keeps happening, like you would
- 36:31Speaker 2: think a normal person at some point would go, I'm
- 36:34Speaker 2: still going to root and love. But we've been defeated
- 36:37Speaker 2: so many times, not beat, but defeated so many times.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I'm not gonna let it affect me as much because
- 36:42Speaker 2: you don't stove the Cowboys. You give up on them
- 36:44Speaker 2: halfway to the year.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but then I stove again, not really somewhere in
- 36:46Speaker 1: the middle. It's our year. Like right now, I'm stoven.
- 36:48Speaker 1: It's our years.
- 36:48Speaker 2: What the season starts to start whining like we suck
- 36:51Speaker 2: before it's even over.
- 36:52Speaker 1: After we lose two gears, Yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I get like five and two.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Oh no, dude.
- 36:56Speaker 2: The baseball team like they had it, like they so
- 36:59Speaker 2: did the basketball team.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I think your baseball team had was better than your
- 37:03Speaker 1: basketball team.
- 37:04Speaker 2: It was the largest come from behind Sweet sixteen game
- 37:07Speaker 2: ever in the NCAA tournament, I know, and.
- 37:09Speaker 1: The game before though, they almost blew that one too
- 37:10Speaker 1: in the ninth inning. Like it's just this ninth inning
- 37:14Speaker 1: problem that you guys had.
- 37:15Speaker 2: No, it's not. It's the Arkansas problem because it's every
- 37:17Speaker 2: my whole life. This has been what it was. We
- 37:18Speaker 2: were one game, if we were to beat Tennessee when
- 37:21Speaker 2: Starter fumbled the ball, we're going to the national championship.
- 37:23Speaker 2: He fumbles the ball, they drive down, score touchdown, they
- 37:26Speaker 2: go and win the national championship. We were both undefeated.
- 37:28Speaker 2: This has happened my whole life. Hey, there's a stove,
- 37:32Speaker 2: let me touch it again. It's so stupid. Now, how
- 37:35Speaker 2: long does it take you to get over something like this.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Day?
- 37:40Speaker 3: Because right now is a tough time because there's no
- 37:42Speaker 3: other sports.
- 37:44Speaker 2: What sucks. Football's coming up. It's gonna get worse. Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 2: I know.
- 37:46Speaker 1: But yeah, just Monday, that's it, just a little little weekend.
- 37:50Speaker 2: I've got away many times. I don't even need to
- 37:52Speaker 2: get away. What am I gonna do? Matt Stell texts me,
- 37:55Speaker 2: why the F do I still care about this?
- 37:56Speaker 1: S That was his one text Arkansas.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Yeah, he said he sent a text on his wife
- 38:04Speaker 2: because they got married in the last six months. He goes, hey,
- 38:07Speaker 2: this has heard him. Why does this always happen to
- 38:10Speaker 2: you guys in every sport? Mm hmm guesse.
- 38:13Speaker 1: She already knows, not even here in she already understands
- 38:19Speaker 1: how it works.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Matt Castle, send me a text. W TF. Sorry brother,
- 38:24Speaker 2: See I don't even text you anymore. Nah my father
- 38:28Speaker 2: in law. That's tough. Yeah, Adam Hambrick, Why does every
- 38:36Speaker 2: Arkansas athletic event of any consequence have to have the
- 38:38Speaker 2: announcer saying something to this effect at the end of
- 38:41Speaker 2: every game? This is the craziest game I've ever seen.
- 38:46Speaker 2: It sucks, man.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I'm sorry, dude.
- 38:53Speaker 2: It's my fault though, because I continue to put mm emotional, physical,
- 39:03Speaker 2: monetary and so everything.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Everything.
- 39:07Speaker 2: It's so stupid.
- 39:07Speaker 1: What do you what are you gonna do different? Nothing?
- 39:09Speaker 2: That's the thing. I'm stupid. No nothing. I've learned nothing
- 39:12Speaker 2: from it. I have my expectations stuff for football. We're
- 39:15Speaker 2: gonna be terrible, Okay. Our best case scenario is being
- 39:18Speaker 2: five hundred what I'm doing trying to talk talk it
- 39:20Speaker 2: into nothing.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and then the stove happens at some point.
- 39:26Speaker 2: The stove happened last year at Tennessee when we won
- 39:29Speaker 2: because they kept our coaches another year. Although I do
- 39:33Speaker 2: like Bobby Petrino as i'd take Patrino back as head
- 39:35Speaker 2: coach anyway. There's that I could win a pick a
- 39:37Speaker 2: ball tournament. I'm playing one this weekend.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Oh oh, there we go, now what we're talking about,
- 39:41Speaker 1: and you control that that's true.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I didn't know I was playing to pick a ball
- 39:44Speaker 2: tournament this weekend.
- 39:44Speaker 1: He didn't sign up for it.
- 39:46Speaker 2: It is so that we're putting this down on Friday.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I signed up for like four months ago, thinking I
- 39:49Speaker 2: was signed up for the last one that I did
- 39:50Speaker 2: actually signed up for two. And so they said, your
- 39:53Speaker 2: game is at six pm on Friday, and I was like,
- 39:55Speaker 2: my game and then I'm gonna pick a ball, a
- 39:57Speaker 2: single pickaball tournament of a higher level at six pm
- 40:00Speaker 2: on Friday night.
- 40:02Speaker 1: And you have not been training for that raining every day?
- 40:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 40:07Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 40:08Speaker 2: So I mean that could lift my spirits a little bit.
- 40:10Speaker 1: I could, but not much.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I think I would if someone gave me a butcher
- 40:14Speaker 2: knife and said, okay, here's your hand. If you take
- 40:19Speaker 2: this butcher knife and you smack and you cut off,
- 40:21Speaker 2: it's very very sharp so it's not blunt Forest, but
- 40:23Speaker 2: it's blade the top party the half of your pinky
- 40:26Speaker 2: for national championship football.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Would do it. I mean it's a pinky. You don't
- 40:30Speaker 1: really use that one that much. I guess it would hurt.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Eddie, that's not a big deal. Well yeah, man,
- 40:37Speaker 2: what do you think?
- 40:37Speaker 1: Yeah? No, I'm trying to justify, like I guess I
- 40:39Speaker 1: would have won championships. Yeah, a long time ago, man,
- 40:43Speaker 1: we're still living off those dreams. You guys did too,
- 40:45Speaker 1: a long time.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Ago before your cowboys wines. It's been a bit and
- 40:49Speaker 2: we have one, but they're hard to come by. You
- 40:52Speaker 2: gotta remember that are not easy. Our merch is embarrassing
- 40:55Speaker 2: because we go into a store and it's all like
- 40:57Speaker 2: four everything, no, not even it's even new stuff, and
- 41:02Speaker 2: it's it's terrible. It sucks. Yeah, we can talk about
- 41:11Speaker 2: golf for a second. So how do you feel about
- 41:13Speaker 2: them putting governors on golf balls for the pros?
- 41:15Speaker 1: Oh? I like that? I like that, yeah, because sometimes
- 41:19Speaker 1: I mean they dude, sometimes they if it's the winds
- 41:22Speaker 1: right and everything, that ball will go forever and ever,
- 41:25Speaker 1: and then they're like chipping eighty yard chip to get
- 41:30Speaker 1: on the green sometimes.
- 41:31Speaker 2: It's ridiculous, so they would only do it with professional
- 41:33Speaker 2: golf balls. I saw Tiger talking about this. What struck
- 41:36Speaker 2: me though, was I saw a guy that runs a
- 41:39Speaker 2: golf course talking about it on TikTok and he his
- 41:42Speaker 2: answer was, yeah, please, because we have to keep building
- 41:45Speaker 2: courses bigger. And not only that, if we build them bigger,
- 41:49Speaker 2: that's more land for us to have to take care of,
- 41:51Speaker 2: more to mow. It costs more because we're having to
- 41:54Speaker 2: make golf courses longer for the players that are hitting
- 41:57Speaker 2: it longer.
- 41:57Speaker 3: I didn't think about that. I didn't either, because at
- 41:59Speaker 3: first I'm like, why they're pros, Like let them freaking
- 42:02Speaker 3: swing it.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Yeah, like make the holes longer. But those courses, this
- 42:06Speaker 2: is these hundred courses that have PGA events, Like they
- 42:08Speaker 2: have to keep making them longer. But it's costing more
- 42:10Speaker 2: money to even keep the courses running because it's more
- 42:14Speaker 2: land they have to take care of. I don't have
- 42:16Speaker 2: a problem with them putting governors on pros. I don't
- 42:19Speaker 2: think they should put the governors on like normal people.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Walls. No, No, I don't need one. We get the
- 42:24Speaker 1: opposite of governors.
- 42:26Speaker 2: You should be able to buy the pro balls that
- 42:28Speaker 2: have the governors on them. That's fine, yeah, if you
- 42:31Speaker 2: want to see. But the pro should play with some
- 42:33Speaker 2: sort of regulated ball, and we should still get the
- 42:39Speaker 2: balls that go as far as we hit them. We
- 42:41Speaker 2: should get the pro balls, the regular balls, that's what
- 42:43Speaker 2: we have.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we get the ones they hit now they
- 42:46Speaker 1: get the governor one.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah, we can get the one. We get the hand
- 42:48Speaker 2: me downs.
- 42:50Speaker 4: And stuff.
- 42:51Speaker 2: It's expensive and them, and it's like we hit them
- 42:54Speaker 2: far far in the But I think I'm okay with that.
- 42:58Speaker 2: I was just thinking of that because they wouldn't do
- 43:01Speaker 2: that in football, like they wouldn't slow anybody down. They
- 43:05Speaker 2: wouldn't be funny if they made the ball a lot bigger.
- 43:10Speaker 2: It's like a giant football or a nerf ball. You
- 43:13Speaker 2: can't whistle at all basketball like they've talked about lifting
- 43:23Speaker 2: from ten to ten and a half and they won't
- 43:26Speaker 2: because but moving the three point line back is almost
- 43:28Speaker 2: that too. That's a governor. I think that could possibly happen,
- 43:33Speaker 2: or they could like take three point line and cut
- 43:35Speaker 2: it off, like have it go into the benches where
- 43:39Speaker 2: you don't really have that corner.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Like into the out of bounds. Yeah, at an angle like.
- 43:45Speaker 2: You don't have the corner anymore, and that extends the
- 43:48Speaker 2: three point line a little bit.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Huh what about a four pointer?
- 43:51Speaker 2: Well, now we're doing MTV Rock and Jock, why not
- 43:55Speaker 2: have a spot for a trampoline in the ground.
- 43:58Speaker 1: It's a bonus out of the ground and you get
- 44:01Speaker 1: a dunk.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Off of it for all the guys that don't get
- 44:03Speaker 2: to dunk.
- 44:03Speaker 1: What I did think, like watching the US Open, was
- 44:06Speaker 1: you know some of these golfers are sponsored by like
- 44:09Speaker 1: top Flight, right, we all know Flight.
- 44:12Speaker 2: That's the one you go to all of them.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Top Lights are the ball that you find, and you're like,
- 44:16Speaker 1: I don't even want that one. So I'm wondering, like
- 44:19Speaker 1: if that's your sponsorship and top Flight's like you need
- 44:22Speaker 1: to use our ball, are You're like, oh no, Like
- 44:24Speaker 1: I can't hit.
- 44:24Speaker 2: A top light, you don't take the deal. But secondly,
- 44:27Speaker 2: Tiger had Nike golf clubs, and you forget that yellow
- 44:31Speaker 2: driver that Nike had was terrible and it made a
- 44:33Speaker 2: pung kind of sound. I remember that, and even like
- 44:36Speaker 2: two years ago, Reid had this driver and he still
- 44:40Speaker 2: played with it. And he's left handed. So I gave
- 44:41Speaker 2: him one of my nice drivers. And I saw a
- 44:44Speaker 2: meme that popped up yesterday about Tiger and that driver,
- 44:47Speaker 2: and I sent it to him and it said the
- 44:50Speaker 2: picture of Tiger swinging that old yellow Nike driver. It
- 44:53Speaker 2: says winning a major with his driver is more impressive
- 44:55Speaker 2: than doing it on a broken leg. But it reminds
- 44:58Speaker 2: me of that because those clubs were thought to be
- 45:01Speaker 2: not as good as other clubs, and Tiger's still one
- 45:02Speaker 2: with them because Nike paid them all that money. Now,
- 45:05Speaker 2: ball wise, I don't know what's the ball you find
- 45:08Speaker 2: though that you do not want?
- 45:10Speaker 1: So top flight okay, top Flight's definitely the main one.
- 45:13Speaker 1: And then there's the Kirkland noodle noodle throw it back.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Noodles like the worst, right, You don't keep a noodle,
- 45:19Speaker 2: do you?
- 45:21Speaker 1: Noodles are so bad that one time I kept finding
- 45:24Speaker 1: noodles like so the same person that bought the box
- 45:26Speaker 1: of noodles would lose it and leave it. Just don't
- 45:28Speaker 1: even bother look looking for that.
- 45:30Speaker 2: For me, it's the the range balls.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that's about the only ones where I'm like, okay,
- 45:37Speaker 3: I'm too good for this.
- 45:37Speaker 1: But I start thinking too, like what's the difference between
- 45:40Speaker 1: the practice ball and a regular.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Ball, so probably they've been used before. And I think
- 45:47Speaker 2: they're just a cheaper version of that ball because they
- 45:49Speaker 2: do use those governor practice balls on our At our club,
- 45:53Speaker 2: you can only hit your driver with yellow practice balls,
- 45:55Speaker 2: which means they kind of have that they take off
- 45:57Speaker 2: some of the distance on them.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Oh, that's why I don't hit it as far. I
- 46:00Speaker 1: got it. That makes perfect sense.
- 46:02Speaker 2: I don't think that's really it. So okay, Kirkling, Kirkling
- 46:08Speaker 2: not taking a Kurkling. I'm probably not keeping a top
- 46:11Speaker 2: flight na. I'm definitely not keeping a noodle.
- 46:15Speaker 1: And then let's see Max fly throwing that one back? Yeah,
- 46:20Speaker 1: throwing a Max fly back?
- 46:21Speaker 2: Then Max flies tough.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Actually, I won't throw them back. I'll just keep them
- 46:25Speaker 1: in a separate little bucket to give my kids.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Any other balls. I'm trying to look at lists of
- 46:31Speaker 2: like because you.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Know, what's becoming a good one to find where I
- 46:34Speaker 1: kind of get excited other than prov ones. Man, you
- 46:36Speaker 1: find provy ones that you want, lottery that's.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Great, Pinnacles, pinnacles good and fine, I throw those back, really,
- 46:43Speaker 2: I said, fine, But I think I can. I think
- 46:45Speaker 2: if it's a good Pinnacle, I keep it.
- 46:48Speaker 1: What uh the vice? I like Vice?
- 46:51Speaker 2: Oh no, I don't take no, No, that's a ketchen
- 46:55Speaker 2: release money.
- 46:57Speaker 1: There's something about the vice that I like that to
- 46:58Speaker 1: catch and.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Release Strix and Strix and I like, I like. I
- 47:03Speaker 2: don't have enough data. I saw that one. I just
- 47:07Speaker 2: googled worst golf ball brand, and Shrickxen popped up, and
- 47:11Speaker 2: I was like, I don't.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Know, but see that's what I'm saying, Like Matsuyama hits stricken,
- 47:16Speaker 1: but I.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Would take the I don't know how much a golf
- 47:18Speaker 2: ball actually affects. I don't have the answer. But if
- 47:20Speaker 2: top Flight wants to offer me ten percent more money
- 47:23Speaker 2: than Trixon, I'm probably gonna pay top flights, but you'll
- 47:25Speaker 2: never win ever. Wilson, Wilson, Pro Staff Wilson, Okay, that's fine.
- 47:36Speaker 2: I like that. Wilson Chaos golf balls. Ever heard of those?
- 47:39Speaker 2: I've not seen that.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I didn't know Wilson made those better noodles.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Terrible is our worst noodle? Is the worst noodle?
- 47:47Speaker 3: I would say, Yeah, I think the name alone is
- 47:49Speaker 3: the worst.
- 47:49Speaker 2: If we're doing a backward top five bottom five, yeah,
- 47:55Speaker 2: bottom five golf balls and we'll clip this for the internet.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Here we go bottom five golf balls and if you
- 48:00Speaker 2: find out in the wild of a golf course you
- 48:02Speaker 2: are throwing back so dead. Last, we're gonna put noodle.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Noodle is the worst.
- 48:08Speaker 2: There is no need to keep a noodle. No, you
- 48:10Speaker 2: wi't play worse. If you use that noodle then whatever
- 48:13Speaker 2: else you got in your back. So noodle is coming
- 48:15Speaker 2: in in the last place.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Noodle. Okay? What's that is?
- 48:21Speaker 2: Wilson?
- 48:21Speaker 1: Next? Top Flight?
- 48:23Speaker 3: Wilson process, Kirkland's Kirkland's pretty bad?
- 48:27Speaker 2: Isn't Kirkland though? Like a brand that's supposed to be
- 48:30Speaker 2: just like one of the nicer brands.
- 48:31Speaker 3: That's what they say about Kirkland everything. It's like Kirkland
- 48:33Speaker 3: vodka is like grey Goose is vodka?
- 48:36Speaker 1: Isn't Kirkland costco?
- 48:38Speaker 2: Yes, so you can go like Nickel. That can't be good.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I think we should put top Flight needs
- 48:48Speaker 1: to be on there.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Top Flight or Wilson. What's what's the next to worst?
- 48:51Speaker 1: Wilson?
- 48:55Speaker 2: Wilson next up?
- 48:58Speaker 1: Have you ever bounced to Wilson next to like a
- 49:00Speaker 1: prov one?
- 49:01Speaker 2: I never bound ball?
- 49:02Speaker 1: Try it? Really that Wilson barely comes off the ground,
- 49:05Speaker 1: while the probably one jumps high.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Noodle's the worst. Wilson's second worst at number eight. Are
- 49:10Speaker 2: we doing top flight top flight or number eight? Number four?
- 49:13Speaker 1: Yeah? Well wait, my.
- 49:14Speaker 2: List is all messed up. I'm going backward. So number
- 49:17Speaker 2: three worst ball like this, the number three worst ball.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Is top fight, Okay, And don't let the numbers fool you.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Sometimes they give you tour one thousand, I mean.
- 49:29Speaker 2: One thousand tour players said no, thank you, okay.
- 49:35Speaker 1: And then Wilson to don't even bring up strick.
- 49:39Speaker 2: But is a Kirkland? Is that next.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Mojo?
- 49:44Speaker 2: What's is that a real brand? It's a Nike Mojo,
- 49:47Speaker 2: so that would be a nikeka.
- 49:49Speaker 1: But anymore one time, no, they don't. And one time
- 49:52Speaker 1: I had a great round with a mojo. Great round.
- 49:55Speaker 2: It's gotta be advice. It's got to be.
- 49:57Speaker 1: You can't have advice on there.
- 49:59Speaker 2: I got a no vices. I like vice too. You
- 50:02Speaker 2: can get a full box of Vice for nineteen ninety nine.
- 50:06Speaker 2: What's a box of Kirklands cost?
- 50:08Speaker 1: Take a good question. Do what I like about those vices?
- 50:11Speaker 2: How much?
- 50:11Speaker 1: Thirty?
- 50:12Speaker 2: Oh, that's pretty solid.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Those vices though they come in fluorescent colors. I saw
- 50:17Speaker 1: one where it looked like.
- 50:18Speaker 2: One that looks like Iron Man too, if you want
- 50:21Speaker 2: that's true. It's the Precept.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Oh, I don't mind Precepts. Okay, don't mind precepts.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Is that a ball?
- 50:29Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 50:30Speaker 2: Or is it a sub off another brand? No, it's
- 50:33Speaker 2: just Precept recept Ladie. Vice has got to be on
- 50:36Speaker 2: the Vice's garbage.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I love Vice.
- 50:39Speaker 2: I love Vice, Okay, I'll negotiate and not put Vice next,
- 50:43Speaker 2: but I think Vice has got to be a number
- 50:45Speaker 2: five of worst. Okay, so we gotta find four. So
- 50:48Speaker 2: at number four, do.
- 50:51Speaker 1: We have we done? Pinnacle?
- 50:53Speaker 2: I don't mind. I don't mind Pinnacle either.
- 50:57Speaker 1: You guys are crazy. That's got to go back in
- 51:00Speaker 1: the water. The way you have to look at this
- 51:04Speaker 1: is would.
- 51:04Speaker 2: You Max Fly?
- 51:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Max Fi is terrible sus Max Fi is terrible? Yeah.
- 51:11Speaker 2: I think the name just really gets you.
- 51:12Speaker 3: And then you're like and then you realize like, no,
- 51:13Speaker 3: actually no, what number.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Do you get?
- 51:15Speaker 2: Max Flies? You see it, You're like, oh, this will
- 51:19Speaker 2: go further. Okay, So Max Fly put it on there
- 51:23Speaker 2: and then Vice. No, we cannot put on fighting Vice
- 51:26Speaker 2: versus Pinnacle.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Yes, I guarantee you pull anyone outside this room.
- 51:30Speaker 2: I would never play with a Vice unless it's the
- 51:33Speaker 2: only ball, one ball I had.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Left, like a hot pink one. Dude, you wouldn't play
- 51:37Speaker 1: with a hot pink Vice.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Well you're talking about language, now what Kevin? You can
- 51:41Speaker 2: be the decider here which one is worse? Vice or Pinnacle?
- 51:45Speaker 1: Kevin, you know what's up.
- 51:47Speaker 2: It's I think Pinnacles worse. I'll take my loss. Okay,
- 51:52Speaker 2: So here we go. Here's the list of worst golf
- 51:54Speaker 2: ball brands that if we find we ain't playing with them,
- 51:58Speaker 2: because most of time we find them, we're gonna play
- 51:59Speaker 2: with them if they're good. Noodle, Worst, Wilson second worst,
- 52:05Speaker 2: top Flight, Max Fly, and Pinnacle.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Who knew were such golf ball snobs?
- 52:12Speaker 2: So Kirkland didn't even make the final cut.
- 52:14Speaker 1: No, the Advice is solid. Vice is a solid golf ball.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Okay, what about the best?
- 52:22Speaker 1: Oh prob one?
- 52:24Speaker 2: Tyler's Proby one is the best just titleist in general,
- 52:26Speaker 2: So that's a version Soler Tyler's at one.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Callaway No bridgestone two over Callaway solid.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Now I like bridge Stones, actually I like Bridge down
- 52:41Speaker 2: stupid over cal Taylor made it too.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I didn't think about Taylor made those are great.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Taylor made it too. I didn't force Vice upon you. So,
- 52:54Speaker 2: so what are you gone yet? I think Calloway is
- 52:58Speaker 2: better than Bridgestone, Kevin, Yeah, we're going Callaway.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, and the bridge Stone two or three sixties, dude,
- 53:07Speaker 1: it's a solid.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I mean, neither are bad, obviously the Bridgestone. Okay, what's
- 53:11Speaker 2: the fifth best one?
- 53:13Speaker 4: More?
- 53:13Speaker 2: Uh, let's say it, noodle, we.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Bring it back for the dead number five on each one.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Let's see. Let me think, oh, Vice, because weis did
- 53:25Speaker 1: not make the I can't put advice.
- 53:27Speaker 2: I can't and all I don't put stricks on what.
- 53:29Speaker 2: I'm not even sure about over vice Okay, because I
- 53:35Speaker 2: think Pinnacle we've already p XG golf balls like those
- 53:39Speaker 2: kind of suck.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Huh. Yeah, I don't use those.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Kirkland.
- 53:45Speaker 1: We can't put Kirklin on there.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Why not? I didn't make the bottom.
- 53:48Speaker 1: List, man. I can't believe you're not gonna put Vice
- 53:51Speaker 1: on there. But I can settle for a stricken Okay,
- 53:54Speaker 1: if I were putting tricks in, yeah, I can settle
- 53:56Speaker 1: for that.
- 53:56Speaker 2: There's our top five good golf balls that if we
- 53:58Speaker 2: find in the woods, idoleist Taylor made Callaway Bridge Down
- 54:01Speaker 2: and Strickson. Those are keepers.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I think we're forgetting anyone. No, I think that's it.
- 54:10Speaker 2: I do have a Captain America blue ball that are
- 54:11Speaker 2: keep my bag that I always wait for the right
- 54:13Speaker 2: time to hit. Yeah, I have one of those two,
- 54:14Speaker 2: but I always feel like it's a cheap ball.
- 54:16Speaker 1: It's like weight. The brain is like weight or something.
- 54:20Speaker 2: It's bridge vice. It's like a bridge down advice collab. Okay,
- 54:29Speaker 2: that's it. Thank you guys for listening. We'll see you
- 54:32Speaker 2: guys early next week. Thanks to coach Jim Moore Junior
- 54:35Speaker 2: for coming on with us. Big u content. By the way,
- 54:37Speaker 2: I went and went to the opry with I'd say
- 54:41Speaker 2: with coach Odo't Coach buried up from Due last night?
- 54:45Speaker 2: How was that? It was great? So he hit me
- 54:47Speaker 2: up and it was like, Hey, we're coming to town.
- 54:48Speaker 2: You're gonna be around. He's now the head football coach
- 54:50Speaker 2: at Perdue. And I was like kind of and he
- 54:53Speaker 2: said it was his daughter's birthday and they were coming
- 54:56Speaker 2: because Laney Wilson was playing the opera and they've tried
- 54:58Speaker 2: to see her live and they've missed it a couple
- 54:59Speaker 2: of times, and I said, well, Laney's a friend of mine.
- 55:01Speaker 2: If you guys come in, I'll just take you to
- 55:03Speaker 2: meet Laney. And he's like really, I was like, yeah,
- 55:05Speaker 2: he goes that a big ask. I was like no,
- 55:07Speaker 2: I can literally like go backstage with the Opery whenever
- 55:10Speaker 2: I want. And I know Lanny really well. So they
- 55:13Speaker 2: were like cool. So they came into the show. Didn't
- 55:14Speaker 2: tell his daughter what they were doing this. They were
- 55:17Speaker 2: going to watch the Opry and Lanny was gonna play.
- 55:19Speaker 2: So I go and get them and walk them back,
- 55:22Speaker 2: and his daughter kind of thinks it's cool that I'm
- 55:24Speaker 2: walking them around because she knows me from like the
- 55:26Speaker 2: radio show and stuff, and she's young, she's like ten
- 55:28Speaker 2: or others, and we're walking around. I'm showing her all
- 55:32Speaker 2: this stuff, and I Laney, it's in a record up here.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Our promotions team did that vinyl?
- 55:37Speaker 1: Oh you guys give all.
- 55:38Speaker 2: I had him office still, so I just took it
- 55:39Speaker 2: with me and I said, hey, I got you his
- 55:41Speaker 2: birthday gift. It's a Landy Vinyl. She's like, oh, that's
- 55:44Speaker 2: super cool, and so we walked in. I knw where
- 55:46Speaker 2: Lanny's room was, and so I had a sharpie. I
- 55:49Speaker 2: was like, here, you may need this, and she was
- 55:50Speaker 2: like okay. And then I said hey Landy and Lanny
- 55:53Speaker 2: comes out. She starts crying. Not Landy, I figured yeah,
- 55:57Speaker 2: And so they hung out and Lanny was super cool
- 55:59Speaker 2: and signed a record pictures and so cool. Coach od
- 56:01Speaker 2: I'm like, loved it. And I didn't realize that Purdue
- 56:04Speaker 2: was only like an hour north of Indianapolis.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Oh really, so that's not far from me.
- 56:09Speaker 2: He was like, you guys got to come up. And
- 56:10Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't like cold, and he's like, well
- 56:13Speaker 2: it gets cold. I was like, yeah, so we can
- 56:16Speaker 2: always go up.
- 56:17Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 56:18Speaker 2: But yeah, I was with him last He's awesome. He
- 56:20Speaker 2: was so cool when we went for un LV. I mean,
- 56:22Speaker 2: super nice to all of us. I got to know
- 56:24Speaker 2: him when he was defensive coordinator at Arkansas, so that's
- 56:27Speaker 2: where our relationship started. He was the defensive coordinator. He
- 56:31Speaker 2: was the defensive corner of Missouri, got the head coach
- 56:33Speaker 2: job at Missouri, fired at Missouri, came and was DC
- 56:37Speaker 2: at Arkansas, and kind of got a raw deal at
- 56:39Speaker 2: Missouri's head coach and then obviously quickly got the head
- 56:42Speaker 2: coach job at UNLV and then turn that program around
- 56:44Speaker 2: is now Purdue. So root and for um since the
- 56:46Speaker 2: time of them last night, it was super cool.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Got se him.
- 56:48Speaker 2: That's awesome. Yeah. How long are they here for the weekend? Oh?
- 56:51Speaker 4: Wow?
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah they show Yeah, because they've been trying to see
- 56:53Speaker 2: Laney and it was the only time they could see her.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Oh that's awesome. Did you sing a song while you
- 56:56Speaker 1: were there?
- 56:57Speaker 2: I did not, I got I was trying to watch
- 56:58Speaker 2: the baseball game.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Yes, and.
- 57:03Speaker 2: His phone precisely what I was doing.
- 57:05Speaker 1: You're like, you guys talk, I'm watching this and you
- 57:07Speaker 1: know what.
- 57:08Speaker 2: That's a family to understood. Yeah. Yeah, it's good to
- 57:11Speaker 2: see coach them, but that's it. We will see you
- 57:13Speaker 2: guys next week.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Anything Kevin, No, still haven't watched the Red Sox.
- 57:18Speaker 4: Just up there.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Thanks for wondering.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Eddie Man same, Oh well, I mean I can just
- 57:23Speaker 1: tell you about my our games this week. We didn't.
- 57:26Speaker 1: We didn't. We didn't win games anymore.
- 57:27Speaker 2: I thought you guys were stacked. We were, and we're
- 57:29Speaker 2: just and then you figured out the cheat. You're done, dude.
- 57:32Speaker 1: I think I think the parents want me out.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Honestly, you're getting fired.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I'm getting what's the coach of the Knicks? Uh, I'm
- 57:39Speaker 1: getting tivid, dude, are.
- 57:41Speaker 2: You playing the same five players the whole game? Not
- 57:43Speaker 2: putting any It's.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Not that it's we lost one game by one point,
- 57:48Speaker 1: and I can see the disappointment of the parents, and
- 57:50Speaker 1: it's just like and then the other one we got squashed. Dude,
- 57:53Speaker 1: just murdered by twenty.
- 57:55Speaker 2: So you were wrong about being stacked.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, I guess. I guess. I doubted. I
- 58:01Speaker 1: thought the passion for the game would be a little
- 58:02Speaker 1: more from the kids.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Oh so you're blaming it on the kids. The coach
- 58:06Speaker 2: is blaming it on the kids.
- 58:07Speaker 1: The double headers, Man, they don't like this. Once the
- 58:10Speaker 1: second game comes around, they're not into it.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Every team has double headers. Yeah, but these other teams
- 58:15Speaker 2: they got kids that care and they want to win.
- 58:17Speaker 2: That's probably because they're motivated by their coach.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Do you want to know what my halftime speech was
- 58:21Speaker 1: in the second game?
- 58:21Speaker 2: Yea.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Do you guys want me to go over there and
- 58:23Speaker 1: tell the other coach we quit? And they're like no, okay,
- 58:27Speaker 1: because I'm getting the vibe that you guys just want
- 58:29Speaker 1: to quit this game, dude, And they were like, no, no, no, coach,
- 58:33Speaker 1: don't tell them that we won't quit. And then we lost.
- 58:35Speaker 3: I mean we still did they come out better in
- 58:36Speaker 3: the second not really really didn't.
- 58:38Speaker 1: But they did play harder, which I appreciate. That sound
- 58:43Speaker 1: like it, but I do feel like the parents want
- 58:44Speaker 1: me out. Man.
- 58:47Speaker 2: You hear them like whispering, No, has your agent given
- 58:49Speaker 2: you the idea? There's some they aren't talking to a
- 58:53Speaker 2: new coach or anything.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Nah, I just get the vibe. I get the vibe
- 58:57Speaker 1: I was. We had like an hour break between games,
- 59:00Speaker 1: so I took the boys, my boys go get dinner.
- 59:02Speaker 1: And when it got back, I was a little late
- 59:03Speaker 1: and some of the dads had taken over the warm up,
- 59:07Speaker 1: you know, and I was like, I was like, oh,
- 59:09Speaker 1: coaches here, guys, and they're like, yeh, yeah, we we
- 59:12Speaker 1: got it. We already started here. Part of me wanted
- 59:16Speaker 1: to be like, all right, take the bench then, dude,
- 59:18Speaker 1: give them, give them the clipboard.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Eddie's kids, give a pep talk. Do you want to
- 59:21Speaker 2: quit right now? You see that out there? Do you
- 59:24Speaker 2: want to quit? Or do you want to go out
- 59:25Speaker 2: there and show those other dads you're the coach? How
- 59:28Speaker 2: many more games. Do you have just one more week
- 59:29Speaker 2: and then you're done? Will you coach again next year?
- 59:32Speaker 1: I'm done? I am a fish.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Did you say this last time?
- 59:34Speaker 1: Yes? Well, my wife's the one that signs me up
- 59:36Speaker 1: for these things, and I'm like, I told her I
- 59:38Speaker 1: don't want to coach anymore. Puts me in a bad mood.
- 59:41Speaker 1: And then after the games, I'm like, just I pick
- 59:43Speaker 1: up six packs of beer, like this is a problem.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I don't like it.
- 59:46Speaker 2: It's driving you a drinking. Yes, all right, we'll see
- 59:50Speaker 2: you guys next next week. All right, blow it Eddie.
