- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Ready for another episode? Luna: Always ready, Lucas. I've been practicing the phrases from the bank episode last time. Lucas: Oh, that's great. Today we're going to talk about something very useful — expressing likes and dislikes in Telugu. Luna: Ohh, nice. So I can tell people what I like and what I don't like. Lucas: Exactly. Let's start with the most basic one: నాకు ఇష్టం. Repeat after me: నాకు ఇష్టం. Luna: నాకు ఇష్టం. That means 'I like something', right? Lucas: Right. You can say నాకు ఇష్టం and then add what you like. For example, నాకు కాఫీ ఇష్టం — I like coffee. I'll remember that. Lucas: Good. Now the opposite: నాకు ఇష్టం లేదు. That means 'I don't like something'. Say it with me: నాకు ఇష్టం లేదు. Luna: నాకు ఇష్టం లేదు. So if I don't like tea, I can say Lucas: Perfect example. You're catching on quickly. Luna: Thanks. So how do I ask someone else if they like something? Lucas: Great question. You say నీకు ఇష్టమా? — Do you like coffee? Luna: నీకు ఇష్టమా. And if they like it, they can say నాకు ఇష్టం. Lucas: Exactly. And if they like it a lot, they can say చాలా means 'very much'. Lucas: Alright, let's practice with a little conversation. I'll ask you something. Luna: Oh, I love idli. So I should say Lucas: Yes! That's perfect. Now ask me something. Luna: Okay, Lucas. I love dosa. See how easy it is? Luna: This is fun. So if I want to say I don't like something, I use ఇష్టం లేదు. Lucas: Right. For example, నాకు కారం ఇష్టం లేదు — I don't like spicy food. Luna: Nice. So now I can talk about my likes and dislikes at the restaurant or with friends. Lucas: Absolutely. Lucas: Excellent. Now try to use these in your daily life. Tell your friends what you like in Telugu. Luna: I will. This episode was really helpful.
