- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to a special edition of Maya's Game Room, The Feed Drop.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: This is your mid-season spotlight for when I'm deep in planning mode between my own seasons.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: I've recently joined the mini-sided network.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's this amazing community of TTRBG creators.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: One of my fellow affiliate shows is run by the brilliant Kendrick Smith.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: And he proposed this fantastic idea, a feed drop.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: So when our shows have roles, we can showcase our fellow podcasters work.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: and I immediately love this idea.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: So what you're about to listen to is just that.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Today, you'll hear the first episode of our lives in the wood from Kendrick's podcast, tells you it told.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: This episode is a masterclass in building tension and emotional weight.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's played using the TTRPG called The Time We Have by Elliott Davis.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: A game about two brothers saying goodbye on opposite sides of a closed door.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Kendrick kicks things off with a crystal clear walk through of the game's mechanics, setting you up perfectly.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: The opening diary entries immediately sweep you into this haunting intimate atmosphere, creating a feeling like you're listening to two actors trading secrets under a single spotlight on the stage.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: The story that unfolds is just gut-wrenching.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's this one prompt that leads to a heartbreaking, twisted version of Old McDonald,
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: And what starts as a shared childhood memory becomes this deep unsettling set of lyrics that reflect the horror of their situation.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Then the final reveal completely flips the script, shifting the narrative from a story of tragic circumstance to one of devastating betrayal.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is also where the sound design really comes in.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: You don't just hear about the infection you experience it through the audio, from labored breathing and inhuman sounds to the final powerful horse cries that shake the entire scene.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, someone turns into a horse.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: It is overall a very powerful performance in a dark dramatic story.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: All the links to Kendrick Show, to the mini-sided network, to the game itself, in the description.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: So get ready.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're in for a very special and very heavy episode.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Here is Tels yet told.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're listening to hotels you're told production.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Your discretion is advised.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_04]: September twenty eight eighty five eight
- 3:06[SPEAKER_04]: Dear diary, you are not going to believe this but those kids.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_04]: Strange of those kids.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_04]: They destroyed the church, and took sister Mae and the healer along with it.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Oak Creek is in chaos.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_04]: And they do my job better than I do.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_04]: Somehow, they found where Mae was hiding those things.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_04]: Still not sure what to call them yet, working on that.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_04]: Something snapping, um, later problem.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_04]: But those kids, they freed them.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_04]: Let them out into the streets without any direction, and all it took was a push.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_04]: A whisper.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_04]: A singular thought provided by yours truly placed in just the right head, and just the right time you could live in zones.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_04]: And all Helpricks loose.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_04]: The first might have been me, but the way that came after was all instinct, fear, hunger.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_04]: They can't help it.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_04]: There's things need hosts to live in, you know.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_04]: Bodies to inhabit memories to cling to.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's all they have, that desire for being.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_04]: Those trouble makers do not know what they've started, the fire, they lit.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing will be the same.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: I am not the same.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_04]: When the stranger handed me their file and told me to write for them, I thought they were just some kids who would cause some trouble for the sheriff in the principal, but then I read Walter's file.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_04]: And that got some gear spinning.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_04]: So I was just going to send them on the bus all the way to the carnival.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_04]: See what happened.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_04]: And now?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_04]: I can do whatever I want!
- 4:58[SPEAKER_04]: The stranger always wanted me to keep things... I don't know, boring.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_04]: That's where people were used to after the war he said.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's what the people needed he said.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: I... Truly, I just think he gave up on being entertaining.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we used to have fun here.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_04]: Dungeons, heists, aliens, and monsters all the time.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm looking if I get to ride a haunted house.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_04]: Now you sign so many people to be ghost hunters and now I don't know what the fuck they're doing.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_04]: Probably cursed.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_04]: I'll revisit that.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_04]: But now, after this, people don't know what to expect.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: I can have dungeons and monsters ghosts.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_04]: I can do anything I want.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_04]: I can send you artifacts into office cubicles, get those pre-warings, Iity, juice of flowing again, make some magic happen.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_04]: It's the blind, it's going to be fun again.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: And it's all thanks to them, Walton, Dorothy, and Dakota.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_04]: My muses.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_04]: I have an idea for my next story.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_04]: I want to do something with siblings, brothers, maybe, or one or no, no way, hold on.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, brothers.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_04]: I know just the brothers.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_03]: Time to sow some seeds and oak.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_04]: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Tales, yet told.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: An actual play podcast focused on collaboratively telling stories at the intersection of queerness and horror using indie, TTRPGs.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: And it's me, you're a host, Kendrick Gorkendo, whichever you prefer.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_04]: I use any all pronouns.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: And with me today for the first time is Amihah.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I use he, him pronouns, and they then pronouns as well.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_07]: Him is spelled H Y M in specifically.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_07]: I, in a world winning sparkles multimedia editor, podcast or artists, I do a little bit everything mostly drawing, but
- 7:23[SPEAKER_07]: a dabble in the tabletop stuff.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_07]: You're here to play this little game.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you for playing this little game with me.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: Um, speaking of which the little game that we are playing today is the time we have a
- 7:41[SPEAKER_04]: at a post-apocalyptic tragic zombie brother duo game by my good friend Ellie Davis over at some many sighted media you may know from my first dungeon talk at the table you know good stuff just like in general I guess but we're playing this zombie game where you and I are going to be playing siblings one of whom has been infected
- 8:11[SPEAKER_04]: by said zombies tragedy tragedy indeed yes and over the course of the game we will be pulling cards reading prompts playing scenes as the days continue on and the infection progresses and eventually well I think we know what happens yeah no they go home and they pick a cake
- 8:37[SPEAKER_04]: They go home and make a cake and everyone's really happy and it's like, this was a really good cake.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_04]: Those six days are kind of crazy that we don't.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I guess for everyone here more specifically, yes, we're playing this tragic zombie game, but we are doing it in a setting that we have played in before and that we just love playing again.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_04]: And that is sublime, county, the home of strangers in the wood and of voices in the wood.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_04]: And now, well, our lives in the wood.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_04]: God, I'm so excited to play this game.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yes.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: I'm super excited.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_04]: We have talked a little bit about this situation that leads us here that I think might just be good information for people to understand.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_04]: at the top about the world that we're going to be in because it's not just every other world and this isn't just every other zombie infection.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: This is the strangers curse.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_04]: The curse of the sublime where people who don't follow the rules, they don't do their roles, don't do their jobs and overall not really driving with the society that the stranger has built
- 9:55[SPEAKER_04]: They get this curse and they turn into animals slowly, painfully, and body horror really.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's a word.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like the right word, right?
- 10:08[SPEAKER_05]: I think somebody horror.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody horror really.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_04]: But yes, and so with everything and timeline wise, for those of you who are keeping up with the sublime timeline, of course you don't need to keep up to be able to listen to this.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_04]: This will be perfectly listenable without having any other knowledge about the sublime or any of the other seasons.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: But for those of you keeping up, this is taking place near, near days after the events of the season finale of both strangers in the wood season one and voices in the wood taking place in our lovely city of Oak Creek.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_04]: We're town of Oak Creek.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a town.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_04]: It is a town, yes.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_04]: The town of Oak Creek days after the incident.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_04]: which will end up talking probably a little bit about in this game.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_04]: So, I don't necessarily want to be spoiled in everything.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_04]: Do you have anything?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_07]: I'm just really excited to play this.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_07]: It's my first time playing it, and it's my first time purposefully playing, knowing that something will happen at the end.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_04]: I'll just say that.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_04]: Something's gonna happen.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_07]: Something's gonna happen, and it's gonna be sad.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be sad for sure.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I did also remember.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to flip a coin now.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_04]: To decide if I'm real or not.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: Cool.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'll let you call it, which one is real and which one is it?
- 11:48[SPEAKER_05]: I'm saying heads as real tail is not.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: I have my answer.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_06]: Bring out those tissues.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_04]: bring out the tissues everybody, it's gonna get sad.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_04]: All right, with that, let's play our game.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_09]: I was lost in the woods, under dust, and the fairies felt in me.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_09]: And they live away, they clear the way to my home.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_09]: For the herd of the pain under the skin, I had fainted.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_09]: They carry me, they clear the way to my heart.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: Go back and forth, reading these cards aloud.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_07]: If you're reading this, then it's already too late.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_07]: The world ended and, with that end, came an infection that spelled the end of humanity.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_04]: You are brothers.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_04]: One of you has been infected.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_04]: In six days or less, you will change.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_04]: Answer the following.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_04]: Which of you was older?
- 13:59[SPEAKER_07]: I believe that my character, Sunday, will be older.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_04]: Which of you has been infected?
- 14:08[SPEAKER_07]: Sunday is also infected.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_07]: Distribute all infected cards to the infected brother and all survivor cards to the other.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_07]: Make sure each of you has a safety card.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_04]: Find a door, sit on opposite sides with the door closed and read your individual rule cards back and forth in numbered order.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_04]: Once the door is closed, the game has begun.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_04]: If you open the door at any point during play, the game is over.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_04]: This is a game about brothers.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_04]: I am the survivor.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_07]: This is a game about brothers.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_07]: I am the infected.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_07]: In six days, I will be gone.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_04]: We will now shuffle our prompt cards and put them in a face-down deck in front of each of us.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_07]: I will do the same with the exception of the card, which reads, do you open the door?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_07]: I will place this card randomly in the bottom half of my pile.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_04]: We will take turns beginning with the survivor drawing cards and responding to the prompts.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_04]: Most cards are questions to be read aloud as of spoken and character to the other person.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_04]: When you ask a question, I respond.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_04]: When I ask a question, you respond.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_07]: Some cards will say pass under door at the top.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_07]: These will be slid under the door, red silently and responded to by the reader.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_07]: Each represents a sound, smell, or sensation.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_07]: When you slide a card under the door, I read it and respond and vice versa.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_04]: For both types of prompt cards, we can ask follow-up questions and speak both in and out of character.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_04]: We might establish truths about each other's characters, our relationship, and the world around us.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_04]: We will let the conversation flow until a natural pause then draw a new card.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_07]: I have one other type of prompt card, the Infection card.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_07]: There are five of these within my deck.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_07]: Please tell me how my infection is progressing and signal the end of one of the six days.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_07]: I will let you know that the day is over and we will silently pause play for thirty seconds.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: At any point throughout play, either of us can make use of the rules on the safety card to pause, adjust or end play.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_07]: If we open the door at any point throughout play, the game is over.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_04]: With that, we begin with my first question.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_04]: Why did you wait to tell me?
- 16:59[SPEAKER_07]: That just wasn't your burden to bear.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not my burden to bear.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: But I, so you were just going to not tell anybody, not tell me and then what?
- 17:14[SPEAKER_07]: I don't think you didn't understand.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you've been, I've been, I've been what?
- 17:24[SPEAKER_07]: What was that job of yours?
- 17:28[SPEAKER_07]: I think I can really update you.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_07]: It's not something you should have to worry about.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's not something.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_04]: We are... Sunday.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_04]: This is... This is everything.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this is you.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_04]: Look, I might have not been able to get to my phone immediately, but you could have said something.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_07]: What family member are we a little glad we don't have to see again?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_07]: I'm defolting to like an uncle.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_04]: Uncle figure super easy.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_04]: We already got to see them like a like maybe once or twice a year, but now no times a year.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_04]: Thank God.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_07]: I'm actually a little bit glad.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_07]: I don't have to hear a certain someone's voice right now.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_04]: So, uh, like, you know.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_04]: Like, Uncle Making?
- 18:49[SPEAKER_07]: No, yeah.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_07]: He had always just, I don't know.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_07]: He got so worked up about every damn thing.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if there's anything to get worked up about, I think it's this.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_03]: But I get you.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_07]: You wouldn't make it any better.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_07]: You'd find somebody to blame as long as it wasn't him.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_04]: Look, I get you trying to take all of this on yourself.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want nobody to worry, but you can't stop people from being worried.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm worried.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_07]: It doesn't really make it even here.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_07]: And the same way I ate an Uncle Mickey's with a discipline.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_07]: And it's the same way I wouldn't despise the way that was sort of kind of give us a cold shoulder after we did something wrong.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_07]: versus, at least with a my mother, she had this sort of passive, aggressive way of letting you know when something was wrong, it was an inconvenience.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_07]: So, maybe I'm a little bit afraid of being an inconvenience.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_07]: And that's putting it lightly.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_03]: Not of inconvenience.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_07]: Do you really think that?
- 20:07[SPEAKER_03]: Of course I do.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_03]: Of course I do.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_04]: Who do you wish was here?
- 20:21[SPEAKER_04]: You know, what happened to you?
- 20:25[SPEAKER_04]: Leslie.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: Leslie would have gotten her as caught.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_04]: And you wouldn't have to, like, you could have, like, pushed her in the way, you know?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_07]: I think, like, you might hear, like, a sort of slump, like, a shifting on the other side of the door.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_07]: Like, you can kind of see Sunday recalling a memory
- 20:53[SPEAKER_07]: I'm so sorry, I've never trusted anything that came out of Leslie's mouth.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I couldn't blame you.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_04]: We were kids, but as we got older, she just got on and on.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_04]: She got too into her role, I think.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_04]: You know?
- 21:14[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_07]: Part of me doesn't really want to blame her, but also at the same time.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_07]: I just don't appreciate the number of times we've been thrown under the bus just because.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_04]: Just because you would lie about the dumbest things.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I mean, like, there are two a certain degree.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_04]: I get why she was assigned, you know, car salesman, but I
- 21:46[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, like, I just, it's, I mean, that's the money, you know.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's money.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_04]: It's money.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_04]: I get it.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_04]: Doing your goal.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_04]: You gotta do it.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_07]: But is every damn thing have to be a pitch?
- 22:00[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes I just want to get lunch from friends.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_07]: Exactly.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_07]: You know, who are you outside of that elevator conversation?
- 22:12[SPEAKER_04]: Truly you're not I'm I doubt she sold that many cars.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna be honest right I'm saying that's why You know, but yeah I Think she'd be a goose or something she probably is a goose again.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think she's all of that much She can't be
- 22:40[SPEAKER_07]: argument have we had repeated least since the end?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: I think the end for us is the attack, and then the growth of the hedge labyrinth.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_04]: God, I think maybe, and I'll take this bullet personally.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_04]: I'll take this bullet.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_04]: I think one of us is pro police here.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_04]: Gotcha.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_04]: Since the authorities explicitly have not been giving people maps of the lab run.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_04]: in order to navigate it as a quote unquote safety concern and so a lot of like there's a constant of like community having to update each other's maps based on how it moves and I think maybe one of us is okay with that and the other one is like no they should just give us the map all right
- 23:39[SPEAKER_07]: Have you made any updates to the map or me?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_04]: I went up to the community center earlier today.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_04]: Got the most updated version of the map.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_04]: Looks like we're going to have to, or I'm going to have to start taking some new routes for my supply pickups, but it's not a big deal.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_07]: kind of is, I see a few people.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_07]: I like it.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm going to, you know, I just figure out the new route and it's not a big deal.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's not a big deal.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_07]: But why do we have to keep doing this, though?
- 24:25[SPEAKER_07]: Why?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, because the lab with this, the lab with this change, I don't know.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_04]: That's just how it is.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, the lab with this changing, but also also,
- 24:40[SPEAKER_04]: If they give, if they look, if they were a position where they gave everyone a map and then one, maybe two, I mean, we don't know how many of those changelings are out there.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_04]: People would be in danger.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_04]: We'd all be in, I mean, we'd be in more danger than we already are.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, but there would also be a chance for us to, you know, find out, say, pavements.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_07]: We could definitely talk and coach.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_04]: And then the changeling's find out.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_07]: But not everybody's changeling.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, that's part of what I wanted to try and at least mitigate while I could.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think we're getting anywhere with that, okay?
- 25:22[SPEAKER_04]: I get it.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_04]: Like, regardless of if you think that they should start giving us maps regardless, like, it doesn't matter.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_04]: They're not giving us the map.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_04]: So I, like, I don't see the point in us doing this.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_07]: Bye.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_07]: Bye.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_07]: Bye.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_04]: Just save up your energy.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you're right.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_07]: Um, arguing about this isn't gonna
- 25:43[SPEAKER_07]: Not gonna change anything.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_04]: You hear me holding back tears.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_06]: Hey.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah?
- 26:05[SPEAKER_06]: What's wrong?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing's wrong.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_07]: I know damn well, and you're not allergic to anything you just ate.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: I'm per your onions over here, all right?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_07]: Right, outside the door.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to go too far.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_04]: Because you needed something.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's appreciated, but also, don't cry.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just cutting onions.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_04]: Why would I cry?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_04]: Why why why on earth would I need a cry right now?
- 26:45[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's just my sibling turning into stranger knows what.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just trying to make a good meal for them.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_04]: I hope whatever that hell you're turning into likes on humans.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, maybe.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_07]: It's very thoughtful of you.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_04]: What else is rather for?
- 27:16[SPEAKER_07]: What is the nicest thing about the apocalypse?
- 27:25[SPEAKER_07]: You know, it was real interesting.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_07]: There's people working together.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_07]: to kind of survive this that I never thought will be working together.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_04]: Really?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_04]: Like who?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I mean, obviously, you know, Leslie's a liar and everything, but like it's been very, um, interestful.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_07]: See?
- 27:59[SPEAKER_07]: See the music,
- 28:01[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, whatever survival tactics they learn by being a manipulator to try and then at this snake way around.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's it's real easy to make yourself seem like a good-natured community leader.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_04]: You know how to sell someone a shitty ass car, I guess.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_04]: I guess she's doing better than I thought she'd be doing.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_07]: I think this is probably the worst possible time to have a change of heart if there's any change of heart.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_04]: Well, better wait than never, I guess.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_04]: You know, Gilles is good at pretending.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's like she cares.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_07]: Sometimes that's what we can do.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_04]: Everything in the fall apart to finally figure out how to make everything work.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_04]: We did the right thing despite the world around us.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: Why did it still feel wrong?
- 29:19[SPEAKER_04]: I think that while we were out, probably scavenging at some point, I think we saw someone who's being attacked by a thing that we think was a change-ling.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_04]: But who's to say that the person that we stopped was the person that was the change-ling.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_07]: Cool.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_07]: Cool.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_04]: You know, uh... I don't know if this is the right time to bring this up, actually.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_07]: Well, you better now than never.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yes.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_04]: I um... I uh... asked around a bit more, uh...
- 30:14[SPEAKER_04]: if people seen Mr. Darius anywhere?
- 30:18[SPEAKER_04]: No one's seen him still.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_06]: Really?
- 30:26[SPEAKER_07]: That's right.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'm just hoping that maybe he was at a town, he was visiting someone maybe, maybe he's still just hiding, but... I don't...
- 30:42[SPEAKER_07]: There's no way in hell he would have attacked Monek like that.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_07]: There's no way.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_04]: There's no way.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_04]: I'm done.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_04]: I'm with you.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_04]: So the thing we buried had to have been a change like.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I don't.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_04]: It's the only thing that makes sense.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, family of them will have a real way.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_04]: Finder of our phones, or maybe we could.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even have it on our silver matter.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_04]: It's fine.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's fine.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_04]: I just want to let you know.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_04]: I'll keep looking around and see if anyone hears me thing, but that's where we're at right now.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_07]: The Infection Saps My Energy.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_07]: And now the day is done.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_04]: You can sense that I'm mad at you.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_07]: You mad at me, aren't you?
- 32:33[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 32:36[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 32:37[SPEAKER_04]: What makes you think I'm mad at?
- 32:38[SPEAKER_07]: the way you're knocking your your foot against that whatever it is.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just I'm sorry.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just I'm just I'm just thinking.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_04]: It's not it's not you.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just thinking.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_07]: We did something wrong to survive.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_07]: Why did it feel right?
- 33:06[SPEAKER_04]: Ooh, okay, what if it was we were all doing it like we were like at an event or something like a very small gathering of people or something?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_04]: There was like someone acting like just like a little fishy and like we were like talking and I convinced and I convinced you to go to the authorities.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and then that caused like it went poorly.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_04]: It went poorly, but like it's still like a no we had to do that.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_04]: I promise you we had to do that.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_07]: Gotcha.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_07]: There's day.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_07]: Did you get any updates about whatever happened to Octavia?
- 33:53[SPEAKER_04]: Octavia?
- 33:55[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, oh, oh, yeah.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_04]: Cops said they took her in and they did the kind of search investigation thing that, you know, the thing with the turtles.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, no.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_04]: We were right.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_04]: She was, she was a change line.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_04]: So they, um, you know.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_07]: We, that's something.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_07]: You, you had to do that.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_07]: You had to.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_04]: Um, too.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever thing was, it was putting everyone in danger.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, we had to go, we had to tell them.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, it sucks to tell that, you know, kind of went down, but like, you know, there was no lasting damage.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody was like hurt hurt other than Octavia.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, well, not Octavia, but thing that looked like her.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, no, we did what we had to do.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_04]: Don't even worry about it.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_04]: You hear me working on something.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_06]: How are you that afraid of me?
- 35:33[SPEAKER_04]: Huh?
- 35:34[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, wait, how do I know?
- 35:37[SPEAKER_04]: Give me a second.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, no, no, no, I was just, I was moving stuff around so I could cook down here.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I don't have to be all the way up there.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_04]: And so we can still talk while I'm making stuff.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, all right, I... Thanks for that.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_06]: I've always liked your cooking.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, if there's anything I'm good at, it's making a good meal.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_04]: I guess while we're at it, is there anything you want for lunch?
- 36:31[SPEAKER_07]: The infection makes me hunger.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_07]: Thursday.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_07]: What is it that you cook as smells delicious?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_04]: It's just, just this spaghetti that you asked for earlier, so.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_04]: Just that, you know, cooking it down, got some garlic, a little bit of, okay.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_04]: This isn't jar stuff, right?
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'm doing this for scratch for you.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_04]: So you better be thankful.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_07]: I'm always grateful for your cooking.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_07]: And then you kind of you hear Sunday kind of thump against the door But my cooking that good enough for you like what's the what's up?
- 37:23[SPEAKER_07]: Just very I never felt never felt a hunger pain quite like this.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know Oh Yeah, no, okay, sure.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_04]: You You good and then is it?
- 37:38[SPEAKER_07]: Do you have anything else on you, a bag of chips or something, anything?
- 37:42[SPEAKER_04]: Bag of chips.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I've got ingredients for, like, yes.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_04]: I got snack food, but if you were like, I'm like, no, I can get your snack.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_04]: I can't.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_04]: Please.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, look, I don't know your house like you do.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, then let me open the door.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if that's, if that's.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, no, you're right, right?
- 38:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_04]: I can't, I'm, um, look, I'll finish this up real quick and then we can, uh, I'll get you food.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'll get you food.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_04]: Don't worry.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_07]: There's thank you.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_07]: This is the end of the second day.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_04]: Where did we always say we would end up?
- 39:27[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I was checking out apartments the other day.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_04]: You know?
- 39:36[SPEAKER_04]: Um, Redwood City?
- 39:37[SPEAKER_04]: Oh.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_07]: The jute to jute is the one that I like still up there.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's still up there.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_04]: Waitin' for ya.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_04]: You know?
- 39:47[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_04]: Just waitin' for you to get your, get your stuff together.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_07]: I was, I like it.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_07]: I have many hospice about it.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_07]: I just never,
- 40:05[SPEAKER_07]: Never saw myself stay in there.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_04]: You could have though.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_04]: Two of us out there, making in this city, you working at Harmony Hospice, me working at the best restaurant in Redwood.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, no one would have been perfect.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_07]: Really what have been, right?
- 40:28[SPEAKER_07]: You know, it's really funny that you got there first.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_04]: Was that funny?
- 40:34[SPEAKER_07]: because you know your Thursday.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 40:37[SPEAKER_04]: What is me being Thursday?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 40:41[SPEAKER_07]: You... you ever noticed that... name the Sunday and Thursday specifically like... Yeah, I just thought it was because that's the day we were born.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah... I guess so.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_07]: But I just thought... I don't know.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_04]: That's just because you're Sunday, you're supposed to come first.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_07]: Well, when you put it like that, you make sound bad.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, but that's what you were saying though, right?
- 41:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_04]: You're the older sibling, you were born on a Sunday.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_04]: You know, some people actually put the week where Sunday is the last day in the week.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_04]: It would be first then.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_04]: I.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_07]: No.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_07]: I just, I just thought that maybe sometimes you think, I don't know if you're getting those headspaces.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_04]: Those headspaces?
- 41:37[SPEAKER_04]: We start thinking you're better than people because you were born on a Sunday?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_07]: No, you just start thinking that is everything.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_07]: I am supposed to be going towards a purpose.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, yeah, I guess, like that's what our, that's the whole deal with our roles, right?
- 42:00[SPEAKER_07]: Like, give us, and what a Sunday was a role too, you know.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_04]: What if Sunday was a role like your name?
- 42:11[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I, that's, I'm sorry.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_07]: I'm just going on with my rants again.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_04]: You good?
- 42:22[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I'm sorry.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_04]: I left first, you know.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to be stuck around here with these people for that long.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_04]: I was hoping you'd come out there with me too, but you stayed.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_04]: So.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_07]: I'm so much of the coward to follow.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, don't apologize to me.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_04]: You're the one who missed out on the big city.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_07]: There is something from before that I never apologize for.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_07]: Will you forgive me anyway?
- 43:01[SPEAKER_07]: Hey.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know if you remember a lot of this, but I used to describe you.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_04]: That's a hell of a thing to say.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_04]: Unprompted, I think.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's what it felt like for twelve of you only.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_04]: You and your mother.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it couldn't have been easy on you, I guess.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_04]: You know, your mother changing and everything.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_04]: But... Yeah.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I took out my mother changing them on the both of you.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't like either.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, look where they got us now.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_04]: You know, all that hate, all that anger, where did it go?
- 44:01[SPEAKER_04]: No, where?
- 44:02[SPEAKER_07]: I know where to go, but I could have never stayed mad at you both along.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_04]: Of course not.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_04]: We didn't do anything wrong.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, guess?
- 44:15[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what you want me to say.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_04]: I look at it.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_04]: You were upset that your mom
- 44:23[SPEAKER_04]: couldn't fit into her role.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_04]: She changed your dad, you know.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_04]: Dad moved on.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_07]: Dad moved on so fast that he didn't get the time to catch up.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_04]: Do you feel better now?
- 44:41[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_07]: Because neither you nor your mom ever deserve.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_07]: in a sort of teenage backlash.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's, uh, it's in the past now.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate it, but it is what it is.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it was hard, of course, like I understood what was going on, what you were going through, but I don't know, you're my big sibling.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_04]: I like what was I gonna do.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_04]: Feels weird being the younger one, giving you advice, giving you comfort over stuff that I don't have it in control over, you know?
- 45:27[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that shouldn't have been your burdened there.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you for calling me simply.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, of course.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_04]: There's a game we play to keep saying, how will I play it alone?
- 45:51[SPEAKER_04]: What's the game?
- 45:52[SPEAKER_04]: It could be cards, could be... I spy, could be...
- 46:00[SPEAKER_07]: I like the idea of I spy actually.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe we try to spy the different types of branches that are in this.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but there's a bunch of like, I'm imagining the hedge isn't just bush, right?
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's like has like other flowers and herbs and stuff around it.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_04]: and growing through it.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_04]: So maybe there is like a spying like different kinds of like plants and stuff like that.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_07]: Good.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_07]: I like that.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's going to be a little hard plan.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_04]: I spy by myself.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_04]: You know?
- 46:44[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_07]: I think I have the better side of the two of us maybe.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_04]: You have the better sight.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I might not be rooming glasses, but that'll me my eyesight's bad.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_04]: Oh wait, hung on.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, that means my eyesight's good.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_04]: No, I've got good eyesight.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_07]: Well, maybe I'm just a little bit better and I didn't find some plants.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, you've got the flowers down, but I've got the herbs.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_07]: Well, yeah.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_04]: Right?
- 47:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, because you cook with them.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little strange that time and rosemary grow on a hedge, but it makes, it makes scavenging way easier.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_04]: The tragically, there's no, not a lot of fruits or vegetables or anything that be cooking with, but plenty of, plenty of aromatics.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_07]: But if you guys, you know, your heads together, maybe you could get something out of that maybe.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know for sure.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_04]: We've got, we're doing soups for days, trust me.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_07]: Is that a little passion, flower, vine?
- 48:00[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I don't know if you remember where it is.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, the one out by the part?
- 48:08[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that one.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_07]: I really liked how they looked.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_07]: I know they're a little invasive, hard to maintain, but something about it just looks so nice.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_04]: I always thought it looked like a weird eye.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but that's, that's, that's, yes, it just doesn't look like it's called the passion of flower, but it just, it looks so terrifying in a way.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_04]: passion can be terrifying.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, at least when I've written the books, the novels.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_04]: Always an avid leader.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I'm a nerd.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_07]: I get it.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_07]: I get it.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_04]: To the day you die.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_07]: We made a plan for if this ever happened.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_07]: Will we see it through?
- 49:11[SPEAKER_07]: You were building, we were playing a little, very younger.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_07]: And we said, you know, maybe we could keep each other as some sort of, you know, side, kick animal.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_07]: Or, okay, if this ever happens.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I remember that, indeed, are you still, we, we doing that?
- 49:37[SPEAKER_04]: I mean... I mean, I guess I can keep you.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_04]: I can keep you.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what you're... I mean, I'm... there... I... my feet poor through my shoes and... it's... it's starting... I think in the makings of a... uh... maybe.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_07]: So, we'll see.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe I'm a Billy Goat.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_04]: I could keep a go.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_04]: I guess.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_04]: I can find, I can find the space of my apartment for a go.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_04]: You better not turn it into anything bigger than a go.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_04]: That's for sure.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_07]: I'll eat up all your shit as a go.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_04]: You're gonna eat all of, no.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_07]: Everything that's not food specifically.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_04]: That's worse, actually.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_04]: I would, I'll leave you outside.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_04]: There will be an outside go.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_07]: Leave me outside.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how my landlord's going to feel about me keeping a go-out side or apartment complex but...
- 50:50[SPEAKER_04]: Go cheese, I'm gonna, you want me to milk you.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_04]: You want me, once you're a goat, you want me to milk.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_07]: I guess that would, okay.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_07]: I don't, it's useful.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_07]: It is.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_04]: I go cheese is good.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_07]: I'd be useful.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'll, uh, I'll keep you.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_04]: I'll convince my landlord somehow and I'll make sure that I, I get goat cheese.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, sounds good.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_07]: See, now I'll make it, I'll make it into the city with you, at least.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_04]: This is how I get to the city.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_04]: I have to wait for you.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_04]: I have to wait for you to get attacked by some chain of swing for you to turn into a goat.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_04]: So I could bring you to the city and milk you for goat cheese.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_07]: It had to be that way.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_04]: What a world we fucking live in.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_06]: That's for damage.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_04]: What story did our parents always tell?
- 51:56[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, this is a great question.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_04]: Did they meet and fall in love or get assigned to each other?
- 52:01[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I think it'd be juicy if like, while Sunday's mom was like,
- 52:11[SPEAKER_07]: you know, turning, turning.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_07]: Our dad was just kind of checked out and decided to.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's so a thing that's true about the sublime.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_04]: There is a kind of taboo dating service.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_04]: That is like last resort for a lot of people, either where it's like, hey, we need a partner for one reason or another, whether it be
- 52:40[SPEAKER_04]: to fulfill their role, whether it because of just a social thing of like, I need, I want to be with someone.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_04]: It's a very desperate last attempt because have you seen the lobster?
- 52:50[SPEAKER_04]: I was thinking the other day.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 53:00[SPEAKER_07]: What were you thinking?
- 53:03[SPEAKER_04]: that maybe after this, you know, with how things are gonna go.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_04]: If I do get out of this labyrinth and I make it back to Redwood, I might see if I can find that program, dad and mom met under, you know.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_07]: That's what I, you looking for the same thing, or you genuinely think you can find your one, two, uh.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's either that or get changed trying, but I don't know if you gone and I don't really want to, it feels like
- 53:58[SPEAKER_04]: My choices are to be alone.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna try to be with someone.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't really know if I want to be alone.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_07]: I really didn't want to find someone in get married and have kids in the living.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_07]: Try to carry on the family somehow.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_07]: Think everybody's proud, but that's not enough.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's not really a U thing.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, well, I always thought you would be okay being alone because you and a damn restaurant.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'm not alone in the restaurant.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I've got people there.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I've got like, yeah, you know, I've got teams of people, which is the point, you know, but
- 54:56[SPEAKER_04]: Coming home after work, three in the morning with an empty apartment and... Yeah.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_07]: I can see.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_07]: It's not... I wouldn't want you to be alone at all.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_07]: I want you... I want you to find someone.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_07]: I guess it's not about what I want, but I... You know what?
- 55:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_04]: I don't mean... I don't know if I can find anyone willing to put up with me.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_05]: That's...
- 55:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they gotta be okay with me, basically working all the time, coming home at odd hours of the night, some of them like grease and garlic and onions and... I mean, that's, it smells good, I guess.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but that's exactly it.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_07]: There's so many people out there who want somebody to cook a good meal for them, and I know you can do that Thursday.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_04]: I guess so.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_07]: Will you promise me to survive when I'm gone?
- 56:05[SPEAKER_04]: What kind of question is that?
- 56:09[SPEAKER_07]: It's a valid one.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_07]: I want you to survive.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, sure.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I'll keep on living.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_07]: Go, go subscribe to that dating service and find someone in survive together.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_04]: Together.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I come, yeah.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_04]: We sure to live a nice, long, happy life.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_07]: Don't name your kid.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_07]: If you have kid, don't name it after a day of week, I guess.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know why I thought that was cool.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not naming my kids after a day of the week.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_04]: That doesn't because also, like, I'm not planning on how many kids I'm having, but if I have more than seven that I'm fucked, you know?
- 56:58[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, exactly.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_07]: Well, guess you were one of the months.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_04]: But that doesn't seem that much better to me, because then what I can have Max,
- 57:10[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I guess.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_05]: Man.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_05]: Nah.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_04]: That's not fun.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_04]: That's not fun.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_04]: The day everything went bad.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_04]: Happy event brought us together.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_04]: Why was this the first time we had seen each other in a while?
- 57:36[SPEAKER_04]: Really glad I got to see you.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I'm glad I got to see you too.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_07]: It was a fun birthday party up until I... I'd tell you, it was her natural banger, I guess.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_07]: She sure does.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_04]: I mean... She expected all of this though, you know, bad, bad data have a birthday.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, I can't even imagine how she feels.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_07]: Part of her almost blamed herself and I was like, no, not on my watch.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 58:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's that again, how are you supposed to, how is anybody supposed to know who's going to be a terrorist attack, you know?
- 58:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_07]: Kind of crazy how we only really ever saw each other when the family had to do something.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_07]: Uncle Mickey had to summon us, basically.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's what family get together is for, right, for everybody to come back from the everywhere that they've scattered off to to recreate something, I guess.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_07]: It always feels like we're pulling at very loose threads though.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_07]: That's how I felt every time for me, at least I don't know about you.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_04]: No, I agree.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_04]: If I'm being honest and don't take this the wrong way, I kind of like being gone.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_04]: not being so entangled in everybody's bullshit.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, there's always some kind of drama, someone, you know, someone took someone's like, jewelry, someone, somebody, money, it's like, there's always some shit.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't, I want to deal with it.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_07]: Oh God, she got our way from that.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_07]: I sold like little work here, but I'm glad I don't live.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_07]: with any of them anymore.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_07]: They always call on me for something.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_04]: You need us, well, I was going to say you need a stop answering, but I guess you will soon.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure what they're going to do without me.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_04]: Probably fall apart.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_04]: That family was, you hold the family together, at least the parents and their siblings and stuff, but like you, I don't know why you took all that on yourself, why you'd let them push you around, drag you to places, do all sorts of fucking nonsense just so that they can get on with their lives.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_07]: because someone has to somebody.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_04]: No, they don't.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_04]: No, you don't have to.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_04]: You can let them fall apart.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_04]: You should have let them fall apart.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_04]: If you had let, if you had just let them do, whatever it is that they were going to do, you wouldn't be here.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_04]: You'd be somewhere else.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, maybe you'd be in redwood, but maybe you'd be, I don't know, literally anywhere else.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_07]: You wouldn't be here.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, there's damn here now.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_07]: And I have to live with the choices I made.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_04]: And how long are you going to live with them?
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_04]: Days?
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_04]: If that?
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I only fucking have days.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm counting all my regrets with them.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_04]: Like, look, I just, I don't know.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_04]: I just feel like you should be more upset with what they took from me.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_07]: I've accepted a lot.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_07]: I shouldn't have.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_07]: You hear me laughing to myself.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_04]: What's so funny?
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_07]: You are right to be angry at me.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_04]: Really now.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, really.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_04]: And one inspired this change of heart.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_07]: That sounds, you know, well, they got days.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_07]: I figure that's something you should hear.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_04]: You think that because you're gone and changing, because you're going to be gone, but you should just, like, do you even mean it?
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_07]: If I don't mean it now, then when will I ever?
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_07]: Right?
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_07]: You can.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it's true, but I don't want you to just go around saying shit, just because you're dying.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_04]: We say it if you mean it.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_07]: I do mean it, though.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_07]: You, you have ever written being grabbed me because I'm angry at myself too.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_04]: Good.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_04]: I think you should be.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_04]: Use it for, I don't even know what you're using here for now.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_04]: What could you use it for?
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_07]: It's gotten nowhere to go.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_07]: It's just... welling up.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_07]: But I suppose I should just feel it all now before I turn into some sort of angry goat and then kill you.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_07]: I think I think I could take a goat.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_07]: You could.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_07]: I think I could take a... Yeah.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_04]: What does it feel like?
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_07]: I was kind of expecting some sort of other question about my thoughts and feelings.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's just, you know, I guess I've never been around another person who's going through it and you said, you burst through your shoes and you've got those now, like, what does that feel like?
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_07]: But different than I thought it did from watching my patients.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_07]: Whenever I took care of them, they would always express pain in different ways.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_07]: But then it kind of feels like, you know, when you have an in-grown toenail.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_07]: I can't imagine that but your whole foot and then just overnight you feel it ripping at your skin and the rapid growth of your coat around it.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, okay.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I'm making right now.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_07]: It's spread in through my legs.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_07]: I can feel my knees.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_07]: starting to buckle and more bones form that aren't there.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_07]: I'm supposed to be there, but everywhere else I'm fine for now.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_04]: What you just described sounds terrible.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_04]: Do you need pain meds?
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_04]: Are you good?
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_04]: I love pain meds actually.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, yeah, I can try it.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'll try to get you some pain meds right.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_04]: I can go out and see if I can scound some up and then like if you dinner, I can, well, I didn't you say anything.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, that sounds
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_07]: You know, when you go out to cook food and deliver it to everyone, but that's when I rise in pain and scream
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_07]: and whatever God's may or may not be listening.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_07]: So.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_04]: Wait, you're telling me that you just, you just wait for me to leave and then you just start, I could get you pain.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_04]: You don't just gotta hold it in.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, sorry.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_07]: I made the mistake.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_07]: I thought I had pain meddle me, you know?
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_07]: I, you have him handy.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_07]: It's not because I wanted to just endure, you know.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_07]: I guess I also wasn't prepared for it to hurt that bad.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, fine.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_04]: I'll get you some pain meds.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_07]: The infection is changing you in a way you can see.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_07]: Do you tell your brother?
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_07]: So as S&A is beginning to grow in new legs, they sort of wins and kind of look at the handle of the door and to themselves, they promise not to tell Thursday at least for right now how horrific the bottom half of her body looks right now.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_07]: And that is the end of the third day.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_04]: What food do you miss the most that I hate?
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_04]: If I could cook you anything, you know, before being like, let's say, okay, last meal, what do you want?
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that's, that's a lot to ask.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I, I would kill someone for a seafood boil.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_04]: No, not a seafood boil.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not getting profit for you.
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_07]: No, not even when I'm dying.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_07]: Slowly.
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's, I, we don't,
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_04]: There's no good crawfish this side of the sublime.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_04]: We're so far from Hollywood.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, okay.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I had, I had it once.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_07]: I can't stop thinking about it.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry.
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_07]: I just, I had faith in you as a child.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate the amount of faith you put in me.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_04]: There is no seafood and oak creek that is going to be palatable.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_04]: That's gonna taste like it's gonna, it's gonna taste like shit.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, all right, fine, fine, all right.
- 1:08:36[SPEAKER_07]: No seafood, boil, but... No, I can...
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_07]: We can, okay, let's call it, let's keep it on the seafood side maybe what about like a fried fish kind of like a flounder type situation.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_07]: Oh catfish.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I must have found out a week.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I know you got to take it out.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I could.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I got you.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_04]: I can do it out.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_04]: Fine, okay, yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'll see if our local cut-go has quality catfish, now fry you up some catfish.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_07]: Really, yeah.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_04]: Anything for you, dear sibling.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_07]: Why do you blame yourself?
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you, I don't know if someday would know that I blame myself.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_04]: And I certainly wouldn't tell her that I do, because I blame myself because I know it's my fault.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_04]: I did this.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_04]: And she doesn't know it yet.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe she will eventually.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_04]: But for now, I'll continue to be her brother.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_04]: Who are the survivors we met that were cruel?
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_07]: I imagine, of course, the cops and anybody who were aligned with them were the cruelest.
- 1:10:18[SPEAKER_07]: I imagine they put everybody including us through these strange tests to make sure we weren't changing.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there was, yeah, there was definitely a very tense period of time early on where basically no one trusted anyone because we weren't sure who was who yet.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_04]: And so during that period of time, like the police and, you know, those aligned in the more prone to violence.
- 1:10:54[SPEAKER_04]: the people more prone to violence as an opportunity to enact violence on those that they could even like vaguely justify as being suspicious.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_07]: that is something like that stuck with Sunday a lot and also was why Sunday felt a bit more angry and spiteful about the fact that Thursday would even trust the fact that, you know, we should be making our own.
- 1:11:27[SPEAKER_07]: maps.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_07]: You know, maybe, just maybe, you know, we weren't given maps to add to this cruelty like there's something that Sunday thinks is sort of making it worse for everybody.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_07]: You hear in human sounds,
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_07]: I think maybe you check up on Sunday, probably after passing around lunch to everybody else who's in the maze that you could find.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_07]: And you kind of hear this like labored breathing, but it sounds a lot deeper than Sundays, like normal half-sensei.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_07]: Is it almost sounds like sort of brain?
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, Sunday?
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_04]: Are you okay?
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_07]: Are you here?
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_07]: What you think is like, you know when the horse, like, lets out a puff of air through their nostrils.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_07]: It's just so loud and resounding.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_07]: And then there's a mumble.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_04]: There's a... Uh, stranger, I don't even know what to say.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_04]: Are you okay?
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_07]: I'm definitely.
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_07]: I'm definitely different.
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_04]: If you're fucking telling me, you sound like a horse?
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I can give up that a little milk stream of yours.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_07]: Don't, sorry, that was mine.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I definitely gonna have a harder time convincing my landlord to let me keep a horse.
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_07]: You hear the shift of weight and like you can tell that there's more weight being moved than ever before Sunday.
- 1:13:35[SPEAKER_07]: I think Sunday would be like kind of a sort of smaller person.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_05]: Now you can tell there a lot bigger.
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_04]: Where were we going next?
- 1:13:56[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe there's still some time.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_04]: If you know, they figure this whole thing out, get to the basement of the church, figure it all out, have the labyrinth come down, maybe we can still take that trip.
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_04]: You know, if you haven't changed all the way.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_07]: Not just yet.
- 1:14:17[SPEAKER_07]: It'd be pretty damn obvious, wouldn't I?
- 1:14:20[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, yeah, but it's not like there's, like, it's people mow, you know, it's like, I get the staring and the people act different.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_07]: I saw how they treated my mom.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, yeah, maybe I would endure, but anything to, I guess, Gallup
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_07]: on the sandy shores of Hollywood.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if it even if it happens after, I guess I could technically still take you up there if you want to gallop the beaches of Hollywood.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I think I'd like that.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, now I'll make it happen.
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_07]: You hear like a content grunt.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_04]: Love it.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_07]: The infection is getting worse.
- 1:15:20[SPEAKER_07]: I must wait ten seconds before responding from now on.
- 1:15:24[SPEAKER_07]: This marks the end of the fourth day.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_09]: I don't dare to think about what I would have been without them.
- 1:16:07[SPEAKER_04]: I remember a fight we had.
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_04]: Why were you right?
- 1:16:12[SPEAKER_07]: Sunday never really liked any of the roles that she was given, of course.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_07]: But that doesn't mean that she didn't want to play into them out of care.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_07]: I think perhaps Thursday was of course the only one to know that Sunday didn't want to be a woman anymore.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_07]: want to carry on any sort of family lineage.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_07]: It was important at least for some reason for their dad to continue on possibly because of the amount of loss that experienced.
- 1:17:01[SPEAKER_04]: Look, I know I already apologized about this, but I'm so sorry about everything I said.
- 1:17:08[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't mean to I didn't
- 1:17:11[SPEAKER_04]: I shouldn't have put all of the families burden on you.
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_04]: When you said you didn't want kids, I should have just left it if that.
- 1:17:22[SPEAKER_04]: I should have backed you up.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_04]: I should have backed you up.
- 1:17:24[SPEAKER_04]: I'm your brother.
- 1:17:26[SPEAKER_04]: I should have, I guess I just didn't know.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_07]: It's okay.
- 1:17:41[SPEAKER_07]: You didn't know you could really have known any better because I didn't tell you how I felt.
- 1:17:57[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, yeah, no.
- 1:17:58[SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't have known, but I also, I shouldn't, I don't, I don't need to know everything.
- 1:18:02[SPEAKER_04]: I don't need to be able to understand everything.
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'm not going to be able to understand everything.
- 1:18:08[SPEAKER_04]: When you said you didn't want to have kids, you didn't want to, you know, be responsible for carrying on whatever the hell this family is.
- 1:18:18[SPEAKER_04]: Like that, I should have, I should have backed you up.
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_04]: And I feel bad about it, still.
- 1:18:33[SPEAKER_06]: I appreciate that.
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.
- 1:18:47[SPEAKER_07]: You hear my breathing grow heavy.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Sunday?
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_04]: How are you doing over there?
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_07]: I don't think I have much time.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no.
- 1:19:22[SPEAKER_04]: Is there anything I can get you?
- 1:19:36[SPEAKER_06]: Besides, water.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_07]: I don't even know.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_07]: But that was a waste of you.
- 1:19:48[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, apples, carrots.
- 1:19:53[SPEAKER_04]: I can get you that.
- 1:19:55[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you prefer it cooked or raw right now.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_07]: Everything hurts so badly.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
- 1:20:13[SPEAKER_07]: I think after the labored breathing for the first time, you will hear a Sunday sort of cry out, but it sounds like a very loud brain.
- 1:20:24[SPEAKER_07]: Almost like a, you know, the donkey in a horse kind of, and there's like a thump as if Sunday has turned on her side.
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_07]: Once again, much larger than the previous day.
- 1:20:38[SPEAKER_07]: The door shakes a little bit, it rattles.
- 1:20:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_04]: You will once there for me at my lowest.
- 1:20:53[SPEAKER_04]: What small thing did you do that made all the difference?
- 1:21:00[SPEAKER_04]: I just realized I'd never paid you back.
- 1:21:12[SPEAKER_06]: What?
- 1:21:14[SPEAKER_04]: When I first went out to Redwood, that deposit money wasn't nothing.
- 1:21:20[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I know that, I mean, I don't know what you were saving it for, but I'm sure you must have been saving it for something.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I never got around to paying you back.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_06]: No, I'm even worried about it.
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_06]: I was saving up for it.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_07]: I don't want to part, but I thought you needed it more than I did.
- 1:21:49[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, I should have guessed another self-sacrifice.
- 1:21:53[SPEAKER_07]: There's like a low, like a runt with some base to it.
- 1:21:58[SPEAKER_07]: Again, it like vibrates the door a bit, but it's it's affirmative, and that's all you hear.
- 1:22:12[SPEAKER_07]: Who did we watch go through this change?
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_07]: I think this is probably something that races through Sunday's mind, not necessarily something that she asks or communicates at all.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_07]: But I think when a mutual friend of theirs Trent went through the train after the labyrinth went up,
- 1:22:37[SPEAKER_07]: they couldn't help but just kind of look on curiously and with empathy even especially with the role that Sunday had as somebody who helped people mourn their past lives and transform in
- 1:22:54[SPEAKER_07]: into, you know, their new lives.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_07]: Often wondering just how painful wasn't really.
- 1:23:02[SPEAKER_07]: There were days that Sunday and it wasn't, I don't think it was a more peculiarity at all.
- 1:23:09[SPEAKER_07]: It was more of a, if I decided.
- 1:23:12[SPEAKER_07]: not to play the role that I was given.
- 1:23:14[SPEAKER_07]: Just how bad would it be?
- 1:23:17[SPEAKER_07]: Would I just either do that or subject myself to discomfort or the rest of my life?
- 1:23:27[SPEAKER_07]: And Sunday chose that discomfort and is feeling a sense of like, as they lay on the ground, their neck has sort of elongated
- 1:23:40[SPEAKER_07]: cracking, spine, they don't have a real jaw anymore, I suppose.
- 1:23:46[SPEAKER_07]: It's just like everything becoming longer and bigger in such a very rapid pace.
- 1:23:53[SPEAKER_07]: What she sees is the look in Trent's eye as the bill of the duck kind of started growing and slowly on their face and like transfiguring the bottom half of their face and like just seeing that like kind of slowly happen over time.
- 1:24:12[SPEAKER_07]: And all like the feathers that would just be growing bloody, even as it grew out of Trent's skin.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_07]: And it's like, they imagined it being one way, but they never imagined it being like this.
- 1:24:26[SPEAKER_07]: And then, at that point, she's grateful that Thursday doesn't have to see her like this.
- 1:24:43[SPEAKER_04]: What's a dream you never shared with me from before?
- 1:24:49[SPEAKER_07]: I wanted the world to be kinder.
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, would broke this on.
- 1:24:56[SPEAKER_06]: I'm transformed into... I didn't... I don't want anybody to be alone like my mom was.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_04]: I don't understand.
- 1:25:07[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, no, I'm here with you if that.
- 1:25:12[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if that really makes any difference.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_07]: When you survived, you got to be kinder.
- 1:25:26[SPEAKER_07]: You hear me singing a song, we both know every word too.
- 1:25:52[SPEAKER_04]: There's no way you're doing this right now.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my god.
- 1:26:00[SPEAKER_04]: There is.
- 1:26:02[SPEAKER_07]: I come on.
- 1:26:04[SPEAKER_07]: So I know.
- 1:26:06[SPEAKER_04]: This doesn't feel like morbidly ironic.
- 1:26:11[SPEAKER_07]: Let's say.
- 1:26:14[SPEAKER_07]: Oh my god, I'll have one.
- 1:26:15[SPEAKER_07]: And he had a duck to the drink.
- 1:26:19[SPEAKER_07]: You see his other pattern.
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_07]: His pattern.
- 1:26:23[SPEAKER_07]: On his phone.
- 1:26:25[SPEAKER_07]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:29[SPEAKER_02]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:33[SPEAKER_06]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:35[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:36[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:38[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:42[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:43[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:44[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:46[SPEAKER_04]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:48[SPEAKER_02]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:49[SPEAKER_02]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:50[SPEAKER_02]: He had a duck.
- 1:26:53[SPEAKER_02]: E-I-E-I-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O
- 1:27:31[SPEAKER_04]: Where do I go from here?
- 1:27:35[SPEAKER_03]: Someday?
- 1:27:38[SPEAKER_03]: Someday I'm so sorry.
- 1:27:41[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't deserve this.
- 1:27:44[SPEAKER_06]: I... No one deserves this.
- 1:27:49[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 1:27:50[SPEAKER_03]: I know that now.
- 1:27:53[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what else to do.
- 1:27:56[SPEAKER_04]: If we don't attach to people who latch onto them, we fade.
- 1:28:05[SPEAKER_04]: Forgotten lost into this abominium, and when I saw you, I could tell that there was something in you missing.
- 1:28:20[SPEAKER_04]: I thought it would help us both, maybe, that I, in some way, you would
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_04]: How's me and I went, I don't know, for a place where she had lost.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_07]: There is breathing, but it starts to get a bit more organic.
- 1:28:42[SPEAKER_04]: You know what happens after you turn.
- 1:28:48[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if I'm still gonna be here.
- 1:28:51[SPEAKER_04]: I'll be latched on to you and your new body.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_04]: I'll find a move on.
- 1:28:59[SPEAKER_06]: There's day.
- 1:29:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah?
- 1:29:02[SPEAKER_06]: What are you saying?
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry I hit this to you.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_07]: There is.
- 1:29:10[SPEAKER_07]: more unsettled brain, and then you can sort of hear the loud shift of just large hooves thudding.
- 1:29:25[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
- 1:29:26[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
- 1:29:27[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.
- 1:29:27[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.
- 1:29:29[SPEAKER_04]: I shouldn't have lied.
- 1:29:31[SPEAKER_04]: I shouldn't have done this.
- 1:29:32[SPEAKER_04]: Thursday.
- 1:29:34[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.
- 1:29:35[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't have a choice.
- 1:29:36[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't have any other choice.
- 1:29:38[SPEAKER_04]: That's what he wanted for me.
- 1:29:40[SPEAKER_04]: That's what that was.
- 1:29:42[SPEAKER_04]: What was like supposed to do with it?
- 1:29:46[SPEAKER_07]: We have the all choices we make.
- 1:29:51[SPEAKER_07]: Why was this one the one you made?
- 1:29:54[SPEAKER_03]: because you seem great.
- 1:29:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'm so sorry.
- 1:29:58[SPEAKER_03]: As you're saying this,
- 1:30:16[SPEAKER_07]: There's like the full weight of a horse just hits the door and for whatever reason it's the strongest door in the world.
- 1:30:28[SPEAKER_07]: And you feel the weight of that shake, the structure.
- 1:30:31[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.
- 1:30:34[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.
- 1:30:34[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.
- 1:30:35[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.
- 1:30:42[SPEAKER_07]: And you can hear the stressed cries, not even like a full complete one.
- 1:30:51[SPEAKER_07]: It just sounds so heartbroken.
- 1:30:54[SPEAKER_07]: And then you can hear and feel Sunday kind of collapse on the floor.
- 1:31:11[SPEAKER_07]: Do you open the door?
- 1:31:12[SPEAKER_07]: There is loud and painful brain.
- 1:31:22[SPEAKER_07]: There are good bumps and growns and even briefs notes as the pain seems to subside at least physically.
- 1:31:33[SPEAKER_07]: And in her new body, in her new form, she is restless.
- 1:31:38[SPEAKER_07]: She's trapped.
- 1:31:39[SPEAKER_07]: This is a very small cage to be confined in.
- 1:31:44[SPEAKER_07]: And the last thing she remembers experiencing was to stress and the need to escape.
- 1:31:51[SPEAKER_07]: But I don't think the door is open.
- 1:31:54[SPEAKER_07]: I think what happens is Sunday takes a few paces back.
- 1:32:00[SPEAKER_07]: I think they look up a window and they back up a few paces, remembering everything that's happened.
- 1:32:10[SPEAKER_07]: how trapped they were, how just awful it was feeling every single part of themselves, stretch itself beyond comprehension.
- 1:32:24[SPEAKER_07]: As if something else was ripping from inside out of them, it'd become this to become what she knows to be a horse.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_07]: But in it is this renewed sense of like power.
- 1:32:39[SPEAKER_07]: Sunday's always been small.
- 1:32:41[SPEAKER_07]: Sunday's always been quiet.
- 1:32:43[SPEAKER_07]: And there is one final loud whiny.
- 1:32:49[SPEAKER_07]: as they reach the far end of the room and they begin to gallop in their new clumsy horse body and they break through it and hooves kind of angrily stomp cuts sort of decorate Sunday's body as she turns and tries to survey whether or not Thursday is still there.
- 1:33:17[SPEAKER_04]: Thursday is not there.
- 1:33:20[SPEAKER_07]: There's a loud grunt possibly of one of disbelief and they sort of like look around to see if there's traces of if there's they ever like being there any sort of materials anything as you walk towards the front of the house kicking in the door
- 1:33:43[SPEAKER_04]: looking around.
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't look like anyone has been here other than you.
- 1:33:49[SPEAKER_04]: For the past five days.
- 1:33:55[SPEAKER_07]: There's a loud snort and pacing back and forth.
- 1:34:00[SPEAKER_07]: The hooves kind of unsettling the dust from them.
- 1:34:04[SPEAKER_07]: And then there is a loud cry.
- 1:34:08[SPEAKER_07]: For they gallop.
- 1:34:11[SPEAKER_07]: And I don't know how much the left of the house there is.
- 1:34:17[SPEAKER_07]: She runs anger, confusion, but freedom, all the same.
- 1:34:24[SPEAKER_07]: And it sort of guides her to gallop away, are away from the home and out into the labyrinth in search of somebody anybody.
- 1:34:47[SPEAKER_09]: I was lost in the woods on the dust, and the ferries felt in me.
- 1:34:58[SPEAKER_09]: They live away, they clear the way to my home.
- 1:35:05[SPEAKER_09]: For the herd of the pain under the skin, I had fainted.
- 1:35:20[SPEAKER_09]: They carry me, they kill the way to my heart.
- 1:35:30[SPEAKER_09]: Thank you.
- 1:35:33[SPEAKER_09]: To imagine for a skewer.
- 1:35:44[SPEAKER_09]: Into summer, full therese Loined in the wind I had fallen, had first into love with another complete stranger
- 1:36:12[SPEAKER_09]: When he arrived away, taking most of me when he left.
- 1:36:23[SPEAKER_09]: And when my heart told me to keep far from this underhand of me.
- 1:36:34[SPEAKER_09]: And I'd be right, right to the side of a new word, right.
- 1:36:45[SPEAKER_09]: Oh thank you to my gig for rescue in the lane Thank you to some
- 1:37:38[SPEAKER_09]: I don't dare to think about what I would have been without them Oh thank you
- 1:38:13[SPEAKER_09]: To some eyes of marines Loving it on the way we feel
- 1:38:53[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 1:38:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:38:55[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my goodness.
