Latest / The Vault: The Epstein Files / Doug Band Gives His Epstein Related Testimony To Congress (7/2/26)
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. Yesterday, Doug Band had his time before Congress
- 0:10where he was talking about what he knew about Jeffrey Epstein,
- 0:15and according to sources that were in that meeting, Doug
- 0:20Band came down with the case of amnesia. And I
- 0:24know that's gonna shock you, right, considering that so many
- 0:28people that have been in Epstein's orbit have been afflicted
- 0:31by the same malady, I'm not shocked to hear that
- 0:35Doug Band just couldn't remember his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein.
- 0:40And also, shockingly enough, he walked back his claim that
- 0:44Bill Clinton went to the island. Now, I don't buy
- 0:48that for a second, considering what Virginia has said and
- 0:53what mister Scully said, I'm gonna go with what they
- 0:56had to say about Bill Clinton on the island. But
- 0:59remember that doesn't mean that Bill Clinton was abusing people
- 1:02on the island. I think there's a misnomer where people
- 1:06think that if you went to the island, you were
- 1:08engaging in abuse. That's not how it worked. Not everybody
- 1:12who went there was engaging in that. So I'm certainly
- 1:16not saying that Bill Clinton was part of the abuse machine.
- 1:20But I'm gonna have to go with what my friend
- 1:22Virginia told me, and she said that Bill Clinton was
- 1:25on this island. So let's dive into this article from
- 1:29ABC News and let's see what they had to say
- 1:32about Doug Band and his conversation voluntarily with Congress and
- 1:38the headline Doug Band, former aye to Bill Clinton, repeatedly
- 1:42tells panel he can't recall interactions with Epstein. Well that's convenient. Huh.
- 1:48Who would have thought that's the defense strategy of everybody
- 1:52who's involved, and Congress just lets him get away with it.
- 1:56This article was authored by John Parkinson, Lauren Peller, and
- 2:00James Hill. Doug Band, the former close advisor to a
- 2:04president Bill Clinton, repeatedly told lawmakers that he could not
- 2:07recall his involvement on several topics related to convicted sex
- 2:11offender Jeffrey Epstein. Multiple sources said following Band's appearance on
- 2:16Tuesday before the House Oversight Committee, Such a joke. What
- 2:21an absolute waste of time. And that's why I'm going
- 2:24through all the transcripts with you so you can get
- 2:26a full view of what these people say and how
- 2:29ludicrous it all is because without the transcripts, obviously they
- 2:34could pitch us whatever bullshit they wanted to. The one
- 2:37thing that they hate the most is losing control of
- 2:40the narrative. Band, who began his tenure with Clinton as
- 2:44an intern in the mid nineties, was questioned for four
- 2:47hours by the panel as part of its ongoing probe
- 2:50with the government's handling of the investigations into Jeffrey Epstein.
- 2:55Multiple sources familiar with his testimony said Band had no
- 2:59evidence or information that President Clinton ever went to Epstein's island,
- 3:03Little Saint James in the US Virgin Islands. Despite telling
- 3:07Vanity Fair on the record in twenty twenty that Clinton
- 3:10had visited the island, Band told the committee that he
- 3:13didn't remember why he had made that claim to a
- 3:15Vanity Fair. So just another guy that's a liar. Let's
- 3:20just come out and say it. Doug Band, not exactly
- 3:23or a liable narrator. This dude's out here saying whatever
- 3:27he wants because he knows there's no consequences. Oh yeah,
- 3:31Bill Clinton never went to the island. Bill Clinton never
- 3:33met him. I've never even talked to Bill Clinton. That's
- 3:38the kind of ludicrous bullshit that I would expect Doug
- 3:41Band to say. Often described as the architect of Clinton's
- 3:45post presidential endeavors, including the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton
- 3:49Global Initiative, Band was pressed about his own communications with
- 3:53Epstein's convicted co conspirator Klhainne Maxwell, which were made public
- 3:57earlier this year by the Justice Department as part of
- 4:01the release of files mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
- 4:06And all these people that were friendly with Maxwell who
- 4:08act like it was no big deal, You're wrong. We're
- 4:12talking about a convicted sex trafficker. We're talking about somebody
- 4:17that was targeting the most vulnerable girls in society. So
- 4:20when they try and fall back on the excuse, oh, well,
- 4:22I was a friend of Maxwell's, not exactly the optics
- 4:25you're looking for. I mean, how many times have survivors
- 4:29told us that Maxwell was just as bad, if not
- 4:32worse than Jeffrey Epstein. Emails between Band and Maxwell included
- 4:38talk of meetings with Epstein and numerous exchanges containing suggestive
- 4:42innuendo and cheeky nicknames for each other like baby cakes
- 4:46and Booboo. According to the files released by the doj Yo,
- 4:50you ever call anyone in baby cakes in an email?
- 4:53How about booboo? And then Doug Band goes on to
- 4:58say that he had no intimate relations with Glenn Maxwell.
- 5:02I don't believe that. You know why, because Glenn Maxwell
- 5:06is a skufuza. She was having relations with everybody. Remember
- 5:11the story about George Clooney went to the bathroom with George,
- 5:15gave him a little dome piece and then bounced back
- 5:17to the table. Oh, I remember that story. So if
- 5:21anybody is a prostitute, if anybody is a slut, I
- 5:24think it would be Glenn Maxwell. The bulk of the
- 5:29messages were exchanged between two thousand and one and two
- 5:32thousand and four, before Epstein first faced criminal charges in
- 5:35Florida in two thousand and six. Yeah, nobody knew. Come on,
- 5:40everybody had their eyes wide shut. That was the problem. Band,
- 5:47according to sources, told committee members that he didn't recall
- 5:50sending individual emails to Maxwell, but he confirmed that an
- 5:53email address associated with Clinton that was found in the
- 5:56Epstein files was Bands and that no one else had
- 6:00access to it. Oh yeah, so it wasn't you right?
- 6:03It was the dog, Your dog ate your homework. And
- 6:06then he sent emails to Glenn Maxwell. Band stated that
- 6:09he took steps to insulate Clinton from Maxwell as Band
- 6:12became aware of allegations. According to the sources, don't you
- 6:16love how all these people try to set themselves up
- 6:18as heroes. Well, I stepped in because I knew that
- 6:21there were allegations, So Doug Band knew, but not Bill Clinton.
- 6:27Is that what you really want me to believe, because
- 6:30I'll tell you right now, I don't believe that, because
- 6:33it's unbelievable. Band stated that he never had sexual contact
- 6:38of any kind with Maxwell and didn't recall ever being
- 6:41introduced to any woman or girl associated with Maxwell. Sources said, well,
- 6:47I don't know. I don't have any evidence one way
- 6:49of the other. But is it out of the realm
- 6:51of possibility? No, considering who we're talking about and considering
- 6:55the way she was moving. Band also said he didn't
- 6:58recall ever engaging with that Epstein on any of the
- 7:01flights he took with Clinton on Epstein's private jet, and
- 7:04didn't recall having conversations with Epstein, said sources, like, who
- 7:09believes that you're on this dude's private jet. You didn't
- 7:12have a conversation. You didn't go up to him and
- 7:14say Hey, look, I'm Doug Band on Bill Clinton's you
- 7:17know go to guy. If you want to talk to
- 7:20Bill Clinton, you got to go through me. None of
- 7:22that happened, huh Okay, I guess we know that mister
- 7:27Band set up several meetings between Clinton and Epstein House
- 7:31Oversight Committee Chairman James comer Pole reporters prior to Band's appearance.
- 7:36We know mister Band accompanied mister Clinton on several flights
- 7:40on Epstein's jet. We know that mister Band also had
- 7:43a lot of communication with miss Maxwell. So that'll be
- 7:46a topic of several questions, and it should have been.
- 7:49But look, Doug Band very small player in all of this.
- 7:54He was never going to have the keys to the kingdom.
- 7:56He wasn't going to provide information that was going to
- 7:58be groundbreaking or But what he does is adds a
- 8:03little clarity, right, and it gets him on the record.
- 8:08So I guess, if anything, at least we have that
- 8:11Ban fifty four has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
- 8:15His appearance before the Oversight Committee was voluntary and was
- 8:18not recorded. The Committee has typically released transcripts of interviews
- 8:22after they're reviewed for accuracy and redacted to remove any
- 8:26potential references to allege victims. So it's usually been a
- 8:30few days to a few weeks. So we'll see how
- 8:33quickly this ban one comes out. And now that we're
- 8:35done with Bill Gates, we're going to be diving into
- 8:38Leslie Groff. So we'll get to Band after that. Earlier
- 8:43this year, Band told The New York Times that his
- 8:46message with Maxwell occurred when he was in his twenties
- 8:49and unmarried, and he denied any romantic involvement with Maxwell,
- 8:53who is currently serving a twenty year sentence for sex
- 8:56trafficking and other offenses. Well, how do you prove it.
- 9:00I don't think that Glenn Maxwell is going to spill
- 9:02the beans and say, yeah, you know, I was getting
- 9:04cracked by Doug band Bro had me in the Monica
- 9:07Lewinsky dress and had me hollering. Highly doubt that's gonna happen.
- 9:13There was absolutely no physical relationship that occurred between us, ever,
- 9:17Band said in a statement to The Times in which
- 9:19you refer to Maxwell as a monster. Records created by
- 9:23Epstein's pilots, made public through civil litigation, show Clinton and
- 9:27an entourage that typically included Band aboard Epstein's plane on
- 9:32more than two dozen flight legs in two thousand and
- 9:34two and two thousand and three, but none of those
- 9:37flights went to the island, according to the pilot's logs. Clinton, Epstein,
- 9:41and Maxwell have all denied that the former president had
- 9:44ever been to Little Saint James. And again, I believe
- 9:48Virginia people can believe whatever they want, right. We don't
- 9:51have hard proof one way or the other. So it
- 9:54comes down to who you find more believable. He never
- 9:59absolutely ever went, and I can be sure of that
- 10:01because there's no way he would have gone. Maxwell told
- 10:04then Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in a recorded interview
- 10:07last summer, But how would she know? I thought Maxwell
- 10:10wasn't around Epstein anymore. What happened to that? Remember? She said? Well,
- 10:14I took a step back. I was dating Ted Waite.
- 10:17So it can't be both things. She can't know everything
- 10:20and not know nothing. I've never been to that island,
- 10:25Clinton said in his own interview with the Oversight Committee
- 10:28in February. The former president has not been accused of
- 10:31any wrongdoing in connection to his association with Epstein. He
- 10:36has said he stopped interacting with Epstein before any criminal
- 10:39allegation surfaced and denied knowledge of any of Epstein's crimes.
- 10:44Why did he have a picture of you in a
- 10:45blue dress? That's one for the ages. Imagine being somebody
- 10:53like Bill Clinton and knowing that picture exists, that painting
- 10:57it would be a Tony Soprano moment for me. Remember
- 11:00how pissed off Tony gets when Paul takes the fucking
- 11:03picture out of the dumpster and has it touched up,
- 11:08and then Tony goes to his house and sees it.
- 11:10That would be me. I would have ripped that shit
- 11:12off the wall and punched Epstein directly in his face.
- 11:16Clinton told the committee that he and Band were once
- 11:19close and that Band had been one of the people
- 11:21he tasked to operationalized plans to develop the Clinton Global
- 11:25Initiative in his early post presidency years. He worked for
- 11:29me for years, Clinton said. He arranged airplane flights and
- 11:33things like that, and was doing work on the first
- 11:35Clinton Global Initiative in two thousand and five. And I
- 11:38know that he both Epstein and he knew Maxwell. I
- 11:42don't know to what extent he was in contact with him.
- 11:45In her interview with Blanche, Maxwell said she began spending
- 11:48time with Clinton after he left the White House in
- 11:50two thousand and one, as he was forging his post
- 11:53presidential path through the establishment of the Clinton Foundation and
- 11:57later the Clinton Global Initiative, which is a lot. They
- 12:01were at the White House seventeen times, so let's not
- 12:04act like Lann Maxwell and Bill Clinton didn't know each other.
- 12:07They most certainly did. I was part of the beginning
- 12:12process of the Clinton Global Initiative, and that was something
- 12:15that I helped with, and that was me and Epstein
- 12:17may have helped me helped them, she said. According to
- 12:20the transcript of July twenty twenty five interview, I started
- 12:24spending time with the former president and with Doug and
- 12:27his team, Maxwell said, I had no purpose really other
- 12:30than obviously offered something I don't know ideas. In recent weeks,
- 12:35the committee has heard from Microsoft co founder Bill Gates
- 12:39and two of Epstein's former assistants, Sarah Kellen and Leslie Groff.
- 12:44Later this summer, interviews are scheduled with former Obama White
- 12:47House counsel Catherine Rumler, former Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz, and
- 12:52Epstein's former private banker at JP Morgan Chase jess Daley
- 12:57huh no, Folly huh Okay, I guess the guy that
- 13:01signed the NPA, we don't need to talk to him.
- 13:03Huh no. Marie Villafana, that's interesting. What about Barry Krusher?
- 13:09Notice they want nothing to do with the NPA. Ask
- 13:12yourself why Comber has indicated that a report on the
- 13:16investigation's findings will be issued by the end of the year.
- 13:20And I bet you that shit's going to read like
- 13:21a comedy, considering Comber has no stones and considering he
- 13:27has no teeth, does anyone really think that the n
- 13:31report's going to be skating? I doubt it. Maybe for
- 13:34some of the administration's enemies, but not overall. Now, look,
- 13:39I hope to come back after the report's released and
- 13:41have a different tune to sing, but as of right now,
- 13:44I'll remain skeptical. So we'll see where it all goes,
- 13:48and once we get that transcript, we'll get to see
- 13:50what Doug Band actually said. So until then, that's going
- 13:54to do it for this one. All the information that
- 13:56goes with this episode can be found in the description.
