Latest / BDGE Fantasy Football / The #1 Draft Strategy if You're Picking 1-4
Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Good morning friends and enemies.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big day because we're talking draft strategy.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: If you've got an early pick in this year's draft and your fantasy football draft upcoming, we are honing in on the early picks in draft.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: So we're looking at picks one through four.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: And what I think is the optimal strategy for attacking those draft picks.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we're going to take a little bit of a different approach in this year's video for this.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Normally, I'm giving you a lot of player options like here's the guy I would target here, here's the guy I would target in this round, et cetera, we're going to look at heat maps today, not really heat maps, but we're going to look at each position and where they're going off the board all over the place by the current ADP.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: FFPC, NFFC.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the name of it.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: They're high stakes leagues, but also Bestball drafts underdog and then ESPN Yahoo CBS NFL.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: So we're kind of combining all of them to get a real picture of the average spot that these players are going.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to kind of break down the tears of where different positions are being drafted in your fantasy football league.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: So you know about where you should be attacking positions, where you can't let value slip by and the best
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, I want to start by looking at the overall board here, and there's a lot of colors, there's a lot of stuff going on.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think the most important thing to understand when it comes to this year's drafts, particularly the early part of the drafts this year, are what's happening right away in drafts?
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: What's happening at the one-two turn, and then what's happening at the two-three turn?
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think that will kind of dictate how you approach your draft strategy this year.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: In almost every draft, we're seeing Jamir Gibbs and B. John Robertson start off the draft, right?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're typically the one to pick and we're seeing this resurgence of work course running backs and then being, you know, the number one number two and a bunch of the first round picks.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: What we're seeing interestingly at the one to turn is this massive heap of running backs in the next tier, right?
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: So starting at James Cook, the ninth pick.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: You see James Cook there.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: You see Ash and Jenty there.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Say, Juan, H and Chase Brown, Kenneth Walker, Martin Hampton,
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, you have running backs very early in the draft, the first couple picks, you have running backs really plenty full at the one-two turn, and then when you get to the two-three turn, you're looking at a ton of wide receivers here, and this matters because it's going to dictate the way that you start to build your team.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: So again, I tried to separate all the positions so that you could see it a little bit more clearly.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: But when you look at it here, you could start to see the heat map of like all right.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: There's a ton of green at the one-two turn.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's very little green over here.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: And again, that really matters because if you're picking from one through four, the value at the two-three turn is almost primarily at the wide receiver position.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: And in this video, I'm gonna make the case for why it might be worth jumping up for a dude like Christian McAfrey.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: If you're the one to pick, if you're one or two, I think without a doubt, the free pick here is Gibbs or Bijon Robinson.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's nothing against the receivers, having Chase Puka, like you could obviously win your league if you have those guys.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: The problem becomes you're almost fading the running back position if you end up taking this approach.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Because,
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: if you go with a Jamar Chase or Puka at the one to pick.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: By the time it gets back to you, you don't have many outs to take running back right now.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Even the dudes that are there, and obviously this ADP is the average from the last month or so, so it's not going to be fully updated and baked in some of the injuries.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's even worse now because you're looking at guys like Jeremiah Love, who I thought was a great two-three turn pick, and now he's got the high ankle sprain.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Breeze Hall, mid third round pick, early third would be too early for me on a dude like Breeze Hall, but ultimately Breeze Hall is now dealing with a multi-week groin strain.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, sure, you can grab Javante at the 2-3 turn, you can grab Kyrim Williams at the 2-3 turn, you can grab Josh Jacobs at the 2-3 turn.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I don't think those guys mirror the upside of what hitting on a Malik neighbors would be.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: Hitting on an AJ Brown would be, so that 2-3 turn feels like a beautiful spot to double tap wide receiver.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: And this strategy will change based on your league setting, right?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you're in a start three-wide receiver league, you're in a full PPR league, both of those settings, you might lean a little bit wider receiver heavy.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you're in a start two-wide receiver leagues, you're in a half-PPR league like that to me screams going with a running back early.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: In my rankings, I don't have Christian McAfrey above Jamar Chase or Pook and Akua, but I think from a strategy standpoint, if you're at the three or four, you'll without a doubt be able to get Christian McAfrey because no one's taking him over those guys, but I do think you would be doing yourself at the service.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: If you didn't run a couple mock drafts on whatever platform you are drafting on, pick from the three or four if that's where your draft spot is, start with a receiver and see where you're running back send up.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Then do it again, start with a C-Mac or your choice, like if you like Jonathan Taylor if you like James Cook start with one of those guys at like the four pick and see how your team turns out Because what you're going to end up doing is pressuring yourself into best player available and what's going to end up happening is looking at the ADP like this is what your team is going to look like here You're going to have Puka and then AJ Brown and the Andre Swift's going to be your one.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: Reminds us even things it's going to be your two.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not to that extent, but you guys get what I'm saying
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas if you start off with a Christian McCaffrey at four and then you're able to grab a Drake London or Nico Collins and then a Malik neighbors or Chris Alave or Devonti Smith on the turn, that stack of three players feels way way better.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: So my optimal strategy typically is to go some sort of like hero running back build.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: And what that means is you take one kind of elite running back early on and then you figure out the RB2 situation after that and you're kind of peppering
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: If we take a quick peek over at Titan here, you can see Bowers and McBride are early picks, and the reason I don't love taking Bowers or McBride.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think Bowers is going to have a massive year.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Being at the one-two-turn in particular, you see the heat map of where Titan's are going, and they're like perfect for where you're drafting early on in Drafts.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: So, letting Brock Bowers or Tray McBride go, a lot of the times when you get to that four or five turn, you have Tyler
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think it more casual leagues, a lot of the times you actually will have Colson Lovelin available to you as well, but since these ADPs actually factor in all different types of league settings, like even some of those high stakes leagues, like the FFPC are actually tight in premium, so it moves those guys up a little bit, plus like Bestball Drafters are obsessed with Colson Lovelin.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: So he moves up here, but I think if you're drafting on like Yahoo or ESPN, there's a very good chance that you have your pick of Colson Lovelin and or Tyler Warren at the four or five turn.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: I also love LaPorta.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: I love Tucker craft there.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: So how fanning is your type?
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like you can get those guys at the six seven turn, which is why I stay away from going with a training bride or Brock Bowers at the two three turn if you're picking early in your draft.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: And if we jump over to quarterback, you'll see Josh Allen early and then you'll see a bunch of dudes in the middle rounds five, six, eight, eleven.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really feel the need to jump up for a Josh Allen type.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really even feel the need to jump up for a Lamar or Drake may type.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think typically if I'm in a league where we're starting one quarterback and we're starting one tight end.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm using
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: relatively early round pick on one of those positions.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm typically fading the other.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like if I take Josh Allen in Round 3 or the Marjax in Round 4, like I'm not going for a tight end in Round 5 or Round 6.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like those onesy positions are a little bit easier to fulfill on the back end.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm going to use my fourth round pick on Colson Love and her Tyler Warren, I'm almost definitely just waiting on a quarterback and grabbing a Brock Perti or Matthew Stafford in the ninth round, because if you're going to use an early round pick on one of those onesy positions on a quarterback or a tight end, you need to start peppering the flex spots, the running backs, the wider severs.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of the way I'm approaching the first like five or so rounds.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think ultimately what it comes down to is there's so much firepower at running back through the first like 16 to 20 picks.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then once you get into the middle rounds, I mean the value at receivers insane, right?
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: At the two three turn.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: you have AJ Brown to Malik neighbors.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: These are all guys if they ended up finishing as top five, top three fantasy receivers, no one would really be surprised.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas the running backs that you're drafting at these ranges, if they finished as top, and you don't fancy running backs, that to me would be a huge upset.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have just,
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: a ton of value at receiver in the fourth round in the fifth round, like kind of pick your poison here.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: You want to lose the bird.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: You want jalan water.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: You want lad Maconkey.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Garrett Wilson, like you want volume monsters.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: You want upside guys.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: You want touchdown scores.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of got everything there where the running backs in this range end up having so many warts to what you're doing.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I ran a bunch of mocks over the last couple of days to kind of give you guys an example of some of the players I picked and some of the strategies and stuff these are mocks with people from the discord so the real people drafting but obviously mocks are not one for one like different things are going to happen in your draft you're going to have different draft settings I kind of quickly went through how a strategy might change for different settings again if you have fewer wide receiver starting if it's not full PPR if it's half PPR I think it's always probably smart to lean running back early on and get your work horses.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: because if you're only starting to wider sewers, it's very easy to get production in the wider seaver positions through rounds like five through seven.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: So here's a mock I did from the two spot here.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: Took B-John, number two overall.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously easy pick after Gibbs.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Took London at the two eleven.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, it's really like your speed.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: I normally probably wouldn't actually pair two Atlanta players together.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fine-sacking players, like grabbing players from the same team and the team offense.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: If I feel confident that their offense is gonna be very good.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you can make the case obviously the entire Atlanta offense is gonna run through.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Just these two players, but ultimately, if they have a bad game where they're scoring like 13 points in that game, your entire team is tank there.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: So if I'm going to end up doubling down on players in an offense, I want it to be in an offense that I feel confident is going to end up scoring.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're going to be a top 10 at worst scoring team by the end of the year there.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: So overall it was just kind of like best player available.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: You get your, you know, you're mid to back end wide receiver one ended up with B. John Drake London,
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: And because he dropped there at the 5-2, I could have taken Tyler Warren at the 4-11 or 5-2, but I just felt like that was too good of value to let ETN pass by.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that's fine, cause we ended up getting Tucker Craft at the 6-11. Who I feel really good about, if you like Fanon and set a craft, cause you think his snaps are gonna be a little bit limited to start, that's fine too.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think anywhere from the 4-6 or 7 range is a great spot to grab.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: You're like mid-tighten one.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's a set of infargette.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: You won't have to stream.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy that you can just plug into your lineup for the remainder of the year and feel good about that.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: And after that, we were just kind of like peppering flex plays.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: So we got Jason Warren at the 72, 20 Pollard at 8-11, Michael Pitman 9-2, and then we got our quarterback, Rock Party at the 10-11, and we paired him up with Mr. Jones dribbling afterwards.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: So that to me is an ideal start.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's a less than ideal start.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: kind of same vibe except I had the three pick and because the two running backs when off the board first, Jimmy or Gibson Beach on Robinson, I ended up going with, you know, best player available, whether it's Puka Chase, take your pick.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: I took Jamar Chase.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: By the time I got back to me at the 2010, none of those next tier running backs were available.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: So what happens is you end up feeling this pressure of like, all right, I got to take best player available.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way I can take like a Josh Jacobs or a Javante Williams or a Breeze Hall over
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel that, and I think that's correct, but that's kind of the predicament you find yourself in.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I took Malik and then I'm back on the clock at the three, three, and it's another position where I'm like, am I really gonna take Josh Jacobs over Nico Collins?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you can make the case that that would have been the smart play there, but I do think Nico Collins is kind of the last guy in that tier of receivers, and you're often gonna find yourself with this type of decision.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think Josh Jacobs, at this point in his career, offers enough red flags that I'm kind of weary about him
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: RB1 here.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: He'll get the volume, but he's missed a ton of camp with injury so far.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: He has not had the suspension handed down, but I still think that is in the cards.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: The other kind of underlying fact here is the Green Bay Packers' offensive line is really, really poor.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they are not a good unit.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think we saw a little bit of that last year as they went from like a decent to average unit to pretty poor.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it led to almost zero running room for Josh Jacobs at all last year.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think they want to have March on Lloyd involved if he's healthy and on the field.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you could have went Jacob's there, he could have been my RB1, but even that doesn't feel great.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: Probably would have made my team more well-rounded, you know, having Jamar Chase, Malik Neighbors, Jason Wattles, my Widersie for one, two, three, Jacob's Bucky Irving.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't love that running back pair to like lead me to a championship throughout the year.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think if it's full PPR, we might feel okay, given how much firepower I have at the Wider Seaver position.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: But we're kind of like learning and I'm kind of telling you what I'm seeing and what I'm feeling as I'm in these drafts and like building the team in real time again, you just tend to feel a bit of like pull and hesitation towards best player available versus team building and the right way to have that sort of strategy so in a perfect vacuum, you know, I'm drafting.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: based off my rankings, but you need to be fluid in drafts and understand actual heat maps and tier breaks and things like that that help you build a better team, not just grabbing the best player available at all times.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know a lot of people do draft that way, but I'm way more in line with like I'd rather build a well-rounded starting roster that has fire power at all positions.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're curious of the rankings, they are all available on bdge.co right now, our fantasy membership has a bunch of cool shit packed into it.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the rankings for whatever league type you are in, it's got tiers in there.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: Each player's got their own individual player outlook that I wrote up for all 200 plus fantasy relevant players.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's got all their Vegas props in there.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's got offensive line rank, strength of schedule.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Tell these numbers that you could look at while you're on the clock helping you make that pick in real time.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: You can compare players with our tiebreaker matrix.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: We have a draft assistance.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: You can actually sync your leagues to our website.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then you could use our rankings while you're drafting.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: It will literally in real time cross off players from our rankings as they are drafted in your draft.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: So go check that out, bdge.co.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's got everything in there.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: For your draft, the cheapest way to get it is by going to bedmgm if you're a new user on there, use code bdge, play any slip on there, $10 or more, and you will get a promo code in their app to use on our site for three months free.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: But if not that, you can just go sign up for the fantasy membership on bdge.co.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's kind of an edge case.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: I was at the forepick, so I took Puka instead of McAfrey, and I got lucky, the fact that Derek Henry, who was the last running back of that tier, fell to me at two nine.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that's kind of an ideal start here.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Puka, Derek Henry, Rashi Rice, Garrow Wilson, Tyler Warren, like this draft, I think was crush for the first six or seven picks, whatever.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: However, you're kind of playing with fire here, because if Derek Henry doesn't get back to you, then you're likely in that spot where you're feeling the pressure to take best player available.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: And if that happens, then my team ends up probably being Puka, AJ Brown, if Derek Henry used to take instead of AJ Brown, then it's Puka, AJ Brown, Rossi Ry's Garrett Wilson, and I'm you know, continuously chasing what could be that RB for me, but I don't really have top-level producers at that position.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: And here's one more example from the one spot, so it's a Gibbs one overall and then at the turn, again, you just have your choice kind of of, you know, whatever receivers you want to invest into there, I could have taken Rossi and Malika could have taken Drake London and Malika could have taken Rossi and Drake London or, you know, if you want to move Chris, a lot of they all the way up to the turn now with Jordan Tyson's injury.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's terrible, but this is like the ideal run out and this is usually the way the heat maps play out where you hit that running back early and round one and then you kind of get your choice of two awesome wide receivers at the two three turn and then as I said at the 412 I was able to get Colson loveland and then I got my third receiver in Mike Evans, but you can have done whatever you wanted there I don't hate the running backs at the 4 or 5 turn right now.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure how much higher he's going to go, but I do think it's something you see might end up going a little bit lower.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, he's got the multi-week injury.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think David Montgomery's a good enough floor player that you'll get good volume from him if you want to take him at the four or five turn.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Andre Swift and Bachel too, and are both dealing with dudes in their backfield who have multi-week injuries, calm and young guys week to week with a hyper extension.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: You have Lekwint Allen, who's going to be out for the rest of the pre-season.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that allows Bachel too and to have a much bigger
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: Pass catching roll, although I did hear they're looking into signing a mirror Abdullah who could end up taking that like pure passing down roll So it doesn't seem like they want to give to that exact roll there But either way anytime you're taking a running back and someone in their backfield has a significant injury You can kind of expect like a 10% snap jump there
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think over the last few days, based on some of the injuries, the four or five turn with running backs got a little bit more appealing.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: But mostly, these are starting to running backs.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you're getting a guy like you mere Gibbs, he's going to do the majority of the heavy lifting at the running back position and you're able to load up with star power at wider receiver at tight end.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's just so much value at wider receiver throughout all of the middle rounds.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you could have taken your choice of Mike Evans or Wattle or
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Rome or DJ Moore, whoever you wanted there, even at the sixth, seven turn, like you're getting your choice of guys like Marvin Harrison or Michael Wilson, they eight nine turn, you know, you're looking at dudes like like Wandell Robinson as a PPR guy, you could take some shots on upside rookies like the genre tripling like I did down here.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: So as it usually does in fantasy football, the running back talent and certainty in the position dries out quickly and I think the other thing to notice or the other thing to note that it's like it's okay if you're running back depth is not great because throughout the season when players get hurt the opportunity path is very clear for running back you're like okay this guy got hurt this is the guy I need to pick up whereas.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: receivers it's tougher to decipher because not every injury or death chart move leads to like direct opportunity for the next up wide receiver.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas running backs if a starting running back gets hurt, you know exactly who to target.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: So if your RB2 slot is not very powerful, like mine's not here with Trayvon Henderson, obviously, you know, I probably should attack that a little bit more.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: But as soon as an injury happens in real life, too, Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown, say, Juan, whoever it is, like, I have the power then to go use my fab, my waver wire bid, like on those guys, cause I know who the next guy up is.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's much easier to replace running backs throughout the course of the season.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I shouldn't say it's easier to replace, but it's much more like crystal clear who the guy is when things happen throughout the season.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: But ultimately, just to take a step back, this is not pigeonholing you into a specific player or a specific strategy.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kind of talking through with you guys what I'm seeing as I'm I'm I'm mock drafting and I'm seeing the board play itself out.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: And listen, at the end of the day, what's what's going to work is hitting on the right players.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: Last year, if you were at the four or five turn and you took trivia on Henderson instead of George Pickins, your season's going to turn out differently.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: Regardless if the move was to take running backs at the four or
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think the best thing you could do for yourself is mock draft on the platform that you are using to draft and then experiment with those couple strategies.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, I think the first three rounds are like the most important for you to understand where the tier is break off.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: After that, once you get to rounds four,
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: four, five, six, whatever, you can kind of take your pick of players.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: But there's very clear paths for what's happening in the first three rounds.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: And like I said, it's elite running backs very early on.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's the next tier of running backs at the one two turn.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then it's all that tier, but in wide receiver form at the two three turn.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: and why it gets messy is because once you get past that that tier of receivers at the two three turn and you're looking at the running backs available there like it is again it's the current Williams it's the Jacobs it's the and I like these guys I like Javante Williams but when I look at the guys that are available into the next round like there's a huge tier of guys from Jacobs all the way down to them looking at some of the mock drafts like you can get zafel hours when
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: T-higgins at the 4-3, a mechabuka, and a lot of these guys are dealing with injuries too.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like a mechabuka with the toe injury, with the burden with the groin.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of them are going to end up falling to the mid and fourth round, and it's like, I don't see a huge tier drop off from the middle third round running back to these high-end wider sewers, and that's kind of where the problem would get itself.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'd go to the platform that you're drafting from.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, take your pick and then experiment.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay to take guys earlier than their ADP.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay if you don't follow exact ADP from picks 1 through 7.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: I promise they're not going to end up finishing that rank anyways.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: So experiment, like, go take C Mac at the one three.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: Go take James Cook at the one four and see if you enjoy your team better.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: See if you'd like your team better at the outskirts of the draft by choosing that way.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: So we got running backs early.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: We got wide receivers at the two three turn.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: We've got some sort of flex at the four or five turn along with love lunar Tyler Warren if they fall there, if they do not fall there, then I still really like Laporta or craft or fan in at the six seven turn.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: And if you end up missing on all of them, that's okay.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: Stock up on Dalton, Conquade later on.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Quarterbacks are easy.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: There's 15, 16 good ones that you can get later on in your apps as well.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so I hope that was helpful.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of just rambled for 30 minutes.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, if you watch any of my videos, it's kind of what I be doing over here.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so go practice, go mock draft.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know your favorite strategy if you were picking early on in drafts.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, I will be doing this for the other draft.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: slots.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: The middle picks as well as the end of the round.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: So subscribe if you are picking later in your drafts and I will hopefully help you out with that draft strategy.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise it's all we got.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have yourselves a big day.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: I will see you when I see you.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Smoochies.
