Transcript
- 0:01We tend to look on ourselves as being of a specific nature and
- 0:05having a specific personality. We see main lines of
- 0:10understanding of reaction and of action and look upon these as
- 0:16who we are. If we take a closer look however
- 0:20we soon begin to see that we are not as simple and homogeneous as
- 0:26it first seemed A multitude of different forces energies levels
- 0:32of consciousness, all find their place in the human individual,
- 0:37and make us much more complex and difficult to categorize than
- 0:42we believe. Thus they have ski the famous
- 0:46Russian author of The Brothers, karamazov undertook, a detailed
- 0:51study of the human personality at least as far as he could,
- 0:54trace it out by trying to separate out the various
- 0:58personality element in two different individuals.
- 1:02Although he also recognized that all of the primary characters,
- 1:07those that were the most unregenerate and those that were
- 1:11the most highly developed. Shared certain basic underlying
- 1:16characteristics and could therefore understand one another
- 1:21and interact with one. Another Alexei was the youngest
- 1:26brother who took up a more devotional line of Interest.
- 1:30Ivan had a station that was quite meant, alized Dimitri was
- 1:35driven by emotion and by lower vital Energies, Their father,
- 1:40fyodor was immersed in the vital and the lower vital energy is
- 1:44related to Greed lust and anger. In reality, each individual
- 1:51encompasses the entire gamut of human capability with some
- 1:56extending their range. Far beyond those which Prevail
- 1:59ordinarily with development of higher spiritual over mental
- 2:05intuitive and psychic, Soul development.
- 2:08Obviously, Be at play in their being with all of this interplay
- 2:13and complexity. It is no wonder that it is
- 2:16virtually impossible to predict the exact line of development or
- 2:21action of any individual or even how they will respond to
- 2:26specific circumstances. Those who have a characteristic
- 2:31primary personality or highly developed trait, they frequently
- 2:36act according to the lines of that development, but there are
- 2:41always opportunities and circumstances where something
- 2:45else comes out and expresses itself.
- 2:49The field of Psychiatry finds it difficult to deal with this
- 2:52complexity and therefore it sets a standard of what it considers
- 2:57to be normal and tries to fit those who are struggling to
- 3:01understand their lives and their interaction with Society into
- 3:06this defined and limited framework.
- 3:09Traditional Psychiatry has developed a type of procrustean
- 3:13bed and if they have to cut off an individual psychological legs
- 3:18or head to make him fit into this Frame then so be it.
- 3:23This shows a real lack of deeper, understanding about the
- 3:26larger framework within which we exist, the significance of our
- 3:31lives and the many-sided nature and personality.
- 3:36That Souls can express as they evolve grow and develop new
- 3:41insights powers and capacities. Luckily, modern psychological
- 3:47research and the work of individuals, such as CG, Jung
- 3:52have worked to break out of this limitation and bring to an
- 3:56understanding of human psychology, a much wider, and
- 4:00more flexible approach that is beginning to recognize the
- 4:04inherent complexity of the human personality.
- 4:09The mother notes quote, the complexity arises, not only in
- 4:14extension, but it also in depth. man does not live on a single
- 4:20plane, but on many planes at the same time, There is a scale of
- 4:25gradation in human consciousness.
- 4:28The Higher One rises in the scale, the greater than number
- 4:31of elements or personalities that one, possesses whether one
- 4:36lives mostly or mainly on the physical, or vital, or mental
- 4:40plane, or on any particular section of these planes or on
- 4:46the planes above and beyond them.
- 4:48There will be accordingly differences in the Constitution,
- 4:54or psychophysical makeup of the individual personality.
- 4:59The Higher One stands, the Richer the personality because
- 5:03it lives, not only on its own normal level, but also on all
- 5:08the levels that are below it and which it has transcended, the
- 5:14complete or integral man. Some occultus say possesses 365
- 5:19personalities, indeed. It may be much more.
- 5:25The Vedas speak of the three and thirty, three, and thirty three,
- 5:30hundred and thirty three thousand gods, that may be
- 5:34housed in the human vehicle. The basic three being evidently
- 5:39the triple status or world of body, life, and mind, and quote,
- 5:45reference SRI aurobindo, and the mother growing within the
- 5:50psychology of inner development. Chapter 8, the psychic being and
