- 2:06Speaker 2: want to make sure that we are available because you
- 2:08Speaker 2: never know who may be tuning in and what they're
- 2:10Speaker 2: tuning in for. So I just want to make sure
- 2:12Speaker 2: that I'm in place in case somebody tune in. They
- 2:15Speaker 2: may they may need what we have to share tonight,
- 2:18Speaker 2: who knows, but we're in place. I want to thank
- 2:22Speaker 2: Latanya for stepping in and stepping up and joining me
- 2:26Speaker 2: tonight and sharing. So I'm gonna go to God in
- 2:30Speaker 2: prayer and then we're just gonna have a conversation. So
- 2:34Speaker 2: Father God, in the name of Jesus, Lord, I thank you.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I thank you for yet another opportunity that we can
- 2:39Speaker 2: come before you. Lord god Father, I lift up sister
- 2:42Speaker 2: Alma before you right now. Lord god Father, we know
- 2:44Speaker 2: that you are a master physician. We know that you
- 2:48Speaker 2: are the ultimate physician. We know that you can heal
- 2:51Speaker 2: all So Lord, we thank you right now for touching
- 2:54Speaker 2: Alma from the crown of her head to the souls
- 2:56Speaker 2: of her feet. Lord God, we know that you know
- 2:59Speaker 2: all things. We know that you sit high and look low.
- 3:01Speaker 2: So Father, we thank you on tonight for moving on
- 3:04Speaker 2: her behalf. Lord god Father, we asked that you would
- 3:07Speaker 2: move us out of the way on tonight and allow
- 3:10Speaker 2: this conversation to be led by you, Lord God, whatever
- 3:13Speaker 2: it is that you will have for your people to
- 3:15Speaker 2: hear on tonight, we were asked that you will allow
- 3:18Speaker 2: it to come forth. Or God, we thank you for
- 3:20Speaker 2: the platform. We thank you for the opportunity, because you
- 3:24Speaker 2: have given us an opportunity to share your goodness, and Lord,
- 3:28Speaker 2: we thank you for that. So Father, we asked that
- 3:30Speaker 2: you would go to that hospital where Alma is, Lord God,
- 3:33Speaker 2: touch those that are going to come in contact with her,
- 3:36Speaker 2: those that are caring for her, doctor, her nurses, all
- 3:39Speaker 2: those that will come in contact with her, Lord God,
- 3:42Speaker 2: asking that you will direct them. Lead God and direct them,
- 3:45Speaker 2: Lord God, that they would help with her healing, Lord God,
- 3:49Speaker 2: that she may be restored, that she may be renewed,
- 3:52Speaker 2: Lord God, that she may recover fully one hundred percent.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Lord God Father, we thank you for what you're doing
- 3:57Speaker 2: in her life. We thank you for what you're doing
- 3:59Speaker 2: here on the Crew podcast. We thank you for each
- 4:02Speaker 2: of these whole story, God, asking that you will continue
- 4:05Speaker 2: to do a great thing within them, Lord God, that
- 4:08Speaker 2: that you've already started within them, Lord God, asking that
- 4:11Speaker 2: you will watch over and to his perform and perfected
- 4:14Speaker 2: in each and every one of their lives. For God,
- 4:16Speaker 2: continue to give them an outlet that they may continue
- 4:19Speaker 2: to be a voice for that person that think they
- 4:22Speaker 2: don't have a voice. But we thank you for this platform,
- 4:24Speaker 2: We thank you for this hour, and we thank you
- 4:26Speaker 2: for what you're about to do. These things are asking
- 4:29Speaker 2: your son Jesus' name a man, a man, a man,
- 4:32Speaker 2: a man. So I thank God for I am just
- 4:38Speaker 2: thank him for just the opportunity to be here and
- 4:41Speaker 2: to just have the platform. I thank him because it
- 4:45Speaker 2: is International Women's History Month, so I have had the
- 4:51Speaker 2: opportunity to interview some amazing women that are on a journey.
- 4:57Speaker 2: So I'm grateful tonight to have you here, for you
- 5:02Speaker 2: to step in and say that you would come on
- 5:05Speaker 2: and share. You are a woman, and you are a
- 5:13Speaker 2: woman that is definitely making her mark in her own
- 5:17Speaker 2: way and and and that's what it's all about, making
- 5:21Speaker 2: your mark in your own way. I I think this
- 5:25Speaker 2: is your second year on the third year on the podcast.
- 5:29Speaker 2: This is her third year on the podcast, so she
- 5:33Speaker 2: is one of the newbies. I'm not newbies, but she's
- 5:36Speaker 2: one of the ogs that started. You can say she
- 5:40Speaker 2: started with me. So wow, what a journey. So if
- 5:48Speaker 2: you would for those that may be tuning in for
- 5:51Speaker 2: the first time that may not know who you are,
- 5:55Speaker 2: would you please introduce yourself.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Hell, hello everyone, and I'm LaToya Little John. I am
- 6:03Speaker 3: host of Delay but Not Deny the podcast. My shows
- 6:09Speaker 3: are second Monday and four Fridays of every month, and
- 6:14Speaker 3: there we talk about any and everything because everybody's life
- 6:21Speaker 3: has a story and I do believe that somebody's healing
- 6:25Speaker 3: is attached to your particular story. So yeah, that's that's
- 6:32Speaker 3: basically it with me.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Wow. So podcasting, what what made you want to choose
- 6:46Speaker 2: that avenue? And of all places, why the Crew podcast? Okay?
- 6:52Speaker 3: Well, as far as why I chose to, I've watched
- 6:59Speaker 3: a couple people's shows, one being Trevita's. That's my best friend,
- 7:06Speaker 3: so you know, I do what I can to support
- 7:09Speaker 3: her in any way. So you know, I start watching,
- 7:13Speaker 3: and then I started watching Yours and other ladies, and
- 7:19Speaker 3: I just felt like I needed to create a space
- 7:22Speaker 3: for people to express some things, whether it be health
- 7:27Speaker 3: or whatever it is, a new journey with a job,
- 7:34Speaker 3: or where their faith might lie at I I tried
- 7:43Speaker 3: to open my platform for anybody to come and get
- 7:48Speaker 3: some healing from it, because a lot of times you
- 7:51Speaker 3: can heal yourself with just putting things out, like you know,
- 7:57Speaker 3: not holding on to certain things, just letting it go right.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And I think that has been one of the avenues
- 8:05Speaker 2: for me for my healing process I started. I think
- 8:12Speaker 2: it was writing books and being able to become an
- 8:16Speaker 2: author for the first time. It helped me with the
- 8:20Speaker 2: things that I was doing So I think just having
- 8:27Speaker 2: different outlets to be able to express and to share
- 8:30Speaker 2: those things that we've overcome, because it's those things that
- 8:34Speaker 2: people need to hear that they sometimes don't don't get
- 8:38Speaker 2: to experience or see for themselves, and they need to
- 8:40Speaker 2: know how you overcame those things that you went through
- 8:43Speaker 2: because everybody not going to church, everybody not everybody not spiritual,
- 8:49Speaker 2: everybody don't have that walk. And you know, we have
- 8:53Speaker 2: to understand too that the Word said we should do
- 8:57Speaker 2: greater works, and how would people of those greater works
- 9:01Speaker 2: if we are not sharing those greater works and we're
- 9:03Speaker 2: not putting those greater works out in the form of podcasting,
- 9:07Speaker 2: in the form of books, in different formats, and we're
- 9:10Speaker 2: not getting things out. So being a voice, what truly
- 9:18Speaker 2: has that been like for you? How has that been
- 9:22Speaker 2: empowering to yourself as you empower others?
- 9:26Speaker 3: Well? I started this journey to bring awareness to spina
- 9:30Speaker 3: biffita and hydro syphilists because I was born with both. However,
- 9:35Speaker 3: over time I started to reach out to other people
- 9:42Speaker 3: that have things going on, whether it be something you know,
- 9:48Speaker 3: marital or you know, religion. My thing is just to
- 9:55Speaker 3: meet people where they are no matter where they are.
- 9:59Speaker 3: I'm I'm not so holy that I feel like I'm
- 10:05Speaker 3: above somebody. I'm I'm down here with everybody else is
- 10:08Speaker 3: just trying to push through. And I just feel like
- 10:13Speaker 3: if we lend a hand and reach back and pull
- 10:16Speaker 3: the next person up, we can all just be better, right.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And and that's a lot of what I push on
- 10:28Speaker 2: my platform is I believe in the four seeds. And
- 10:34Speaker 2: so for that person, it's like, what is the four seas, Angela,
- 10:36Speaker 2: what is the fourth seeds? So the four seeds is connection,
- 10:41Speaker 2: it is collaboration, it is creative and community. Being able
- 10:50Speaker 2: to connect with people, you have the opportunity to share
- 10:56Speaker 2: your experiences and they can share their experiences. So you
- 10:59Speaker 2: have an opportunit unity where I may be weak, you
- 11:02Speaker 2: may be strong, right, so I can I can help
- 11:05Speaker 2: encourage you. You know, they're where that's where we can,
- 11:09Speaker 2: you know, pull on each other. And that's where those
- 11:13Speaker 2: those scriptures become life. Where it says we should be
- 11:16Speaker 2: help makes one to another, that's when that scripture becomes life.
- 11:21Speaker 2: You know, we read the word. We we we we
- 11:26Speaker 2: we we say that we are believers of the word.
- 11:29Speaker 2: So if we are readers of the word, and we
- 11:31Speaker 2: are believers of the words, then why are these things
- 11:34Speaker 2: not active in our life? Why are they not you know,
- 11:37Speaker 2: evident in our life. Why can't people see them in
- 11:41Speaker 2: our lives? Why or why they just pay on the page?
- 11:44Speaker 2: I tell people, if once you become aware of something
- 11:50Speaker 2: that you've read, then now it's time for you to
- 11:52Speaker 2: put that into action. So how do you put it
- 11:54Speaker 2: into action? You have to find ways that you can
- 11:57Speaker 2: incorporate into your day, right, Like every day is a
- 12:01Speaker 2: new opportunity for us to do new things. We get
- 12:06Speaker 2: extended grace and mercy. Like if you in this day,
- 12:10Speaker 2: like you should be thankful that you got another chance
- 12:14Speaker 2: to do something that somebody didn't get to do. Absolutely right,
- 12:17Speaker 2: somebody didn't wake up this morning, right, somebody still had dreams,
- 12:21Speaker 2: somebody had aspirations. Somebody had something that they wanted to
- 12:26Speaker 2: do that they didn't get a chance to do it.
- 12:29Speaker 2: But we have the opportunity to do those things. We
- 12:34Speaker 2: have the opportunity to share. So with that being said,
- 12:40Speaker 2: I want to talk about what does five look like
- 12:46Speaker 2: for you? What does Latania have planned? Because I know
- 12:53Speaker 2: Latanya is on a new journey. I know Latanya is
- 12:57Speaker 2: in a new place. So there's some new things that
- 13:03Speaker 2: I'm hoping to see from Latanya. So can you share
- 13:07Speaker 2: with us, y'all, y'all hearing it up close and personal
- 13:09Speaker 2: with Angela here on inspirational moments with Emma and we're
- 13:15Speaker 2: stepping in. We're just having a conversation. It's it's two
- 13:19Speaker 2: National Women's History Month, and we are women and we
- 13:23Speaker 2: are out here creating and leaving a legacy. So come on,
- 13:29Speaker 2: let's just have a conversation. Let's just have that conversation, Latiya.
- 13:36Speaker 3: So for me, those close to me know that I
- 13:41Speaker 3: walked away from a twenty two year marriage July the
- 13:46Speaker 3: tenth of last year. Our wedding anniversary would have been
- 13:52Speaker 3: the sixteenth of this month, twenty three years of marriage. However,
- 13:59Speaker 3: it wasn't a situation that God put together. And so
- 14:04Speaker 3: I will say that God allowed me to leave with
- 14:06Speaker 3: my life. And I've been walking in blessings ever since
- 14:14Speaker 3: I got a car. I've driven from South Carolina to Georgia,
- 14:24Speaker 3: just stepping out on faith. I mean, so many people
- 14:26Speaker 3: have told me, Tyya, just get out of your own
- 14:28Speaker 3: way and step out on faith and do this and
- 14:31Speaker 3: do that. And I allowed fear to keep me stagnant
- 14:36Speaker 3: and just complacent with what I was doing and making
- 14:40Speaker 3: excuses for myself when I could have possibly been out
- 14:45Speaker 3: living my life. And so since I've been here in Georgia,
- 14:50Speaker 3: it's just getting acclimated with everything, trying to find things
- 14:56Speaker 3: and also trying to stay out the way because these
- 14:59Speaker 3: people down here cannot drive.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Well, you have you have a melting pot of people here,
- 15:08Speaker 2: so you have people from everywhere. So then when you
- 15:11Speaker 2: have people from everywhere that's not familiar with where they're going,
- 15:14Speaker 2: so you are constantly gonna have people breaking. You have
- 15:17Speaker 2: people that it's always something, and then you have those
- 15:20Speaker 2: people that have got familiar with the place, so now
- 15:23Speaker 2: they're flying around here. They you think they from You
- 15:26Speaker 2: think they in d C. You think because in DC,
- 15:30Speaker 2: you know, you got to be quick to get on
- 15:31Speaker 2: the expressway because they don't have that big old loan
- 15:34Speaker 2: where you got to drive. You just got to jump
- 15:36Speaker 2: on there and be ready to do so you gotta
- 15:39Speaker 2: be ready to That's why you better learn some backstreets. Yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 2: if you want to get around Atlanta area, Like I'm
- 15:49Speaker 2: in Union City, when I don't want to get on
- 15:51Speaker 2: the expressway, I go straight up Main Street. Main Street
- 15:56Speaker 2: would take you everywhere. So for you, if you know
- 15:58Speaker 2: how to get the Roosevelt Highway, baby, get on Roosevelt Highway.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Ride Roosevelt Highway all the way out until it turns
- 16:06Speaker 2: into Main Street. You're on the ride main Street all
- 16:10Speaker 2: the way out until it starts turning into I think
- 16:14Speaker 2: Main Street goes all the way until it turns into
- 16:16Speaker 2: north Side Drive. If I'm not mistaken. North Side Drive
- 16:20Speaker 2: is right there by. More houses gonna be right here
- 16:23Speaker 2: on your left hand side. And then when you look,
- 16:27Speaker 2: you gonna see big Old Mercedis Being Stadium looking directly.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Put you down that way, You're gonna know you on
- 16:34Speaker 2: north Side Drive like I used to. So, I went
- 16:38Speaker 2: to Marris Brown back in the early nineties. I played
- 16:40Speaker 2: basketball down there. So that's how I really got familiar
- 16:43Speaker 2: with Atlanta. I lived here for oh so many years,
- 16:47Speaker 2: so I lived off campus. When I lived off campus,
- 16:50Speaker 2: I lived out in College Park. So I lived out
- 16:53Speaker 2: here by the airport, out here off Camp Creek before
- 16:55Speaker 2: they built Camp Creek up like it is. I lived
- 16:58Speaker 2: right there, and that used to be my route every day.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I used to get on right there by Washington Road,
- 17:10Speaker 2: and ride it all the way down East Point. I
- 17:13Speaker 2: used to go through East Point College Park all the
- 17:16Speaker 2: way down to I got to the West End train
- 17:19Speaker 2: station and all of that, and then I went to
- 17:23Speaker 2: Morris Brown. So I get out front there and go
- 17:26Speaker 2: and then sometime I just like to drive to the
- 17:29Speaker 2: train station, leave mcart the train station, get on the
- 17:33Speaker 2: train and just that was back in the day when
- 17:36Speaker 2: there was a lot of stuff to do downtown. Now
- 17:38Speaker 2: it's not a lot to do downtown because there's not
- 17:41Speaker 2: a lot of us down there anymore. It's like it's
- 17:46Speaker 2: totally different. I wish they would bring back the old Atlanta,
- 17:51Speaker 2: bring back some of the old stuff. Even though we're evolving,
- 17:54Speaker 2: we're growing, it's different. We would regentrification and them removing
- 18:01Speaker 2: a lot of the housing and a lot of just
- 18:05Speaker 2: what they're doing in a lot of the major cities,
- 18:08Speaker 2: that is what's happening here too. You know. Even doing
- 18:12Speaker 2: a lot of the things that Morris Brown was going
- 18:15Speaker 2: through the city even allowed for us to lose our gym,
- 18:21Speaker 2: we lost our dorms. We lost so much. So shout
- 18:25Speaker 2: out to doctor James, Kevin James over there at Morris Brown,
- 18:29Speaker 2: that's doing an amazing job to rebuild and to to
- 18:33Speaker 2: get Marris Brown back to a place where we were
- 18:38Speaker 2: once recognized and really looked to as a honorable HBCU.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I remember, you know, it was like people thought we
- 18:49Speaker 2: were celebrities when we walked in the building. When when
- 18:53Speaker 2: you played basketball at Marris Brown, people thought you were
- 18:56Speaker 2: a celebrity. Like I used to love going to places,
- 19:00Speaker 2: and people are treating you with that that that respect.
- 19:04Speaker 2: All right, and shout out to doctor James for what
- 19:07Speaker 2: he's doing over there at Orange Brown. I'm back. I'm
- 19:10Speaker 2: glad to be back here in Atlanta. And like I
- 19:13Speaker 2: told you, any time you want to go, like people
- 19:17Speaker 2: know my situation right now with Maka, I had a
- 19:21Speaker 2: little fender bendo and and and then so I but
- 19:26Speaker 2: time you want to go right around click out Atlanta,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I'm here for that again. We're gonna have an opportunity
- 19:35Speaker 2: to connect and get together for the event event right
- 19:40Speaker 2: there in East Point Downtown twenty seven eighty one Main Street.
- 19:46Speaker 2: We're gonna be there from eight to two. It's gonna
- 19:48Speaker 2: be when I tell you, amazing time. My nephew is
- 19:50Speaker 2: going all out. We're gonna have a photo booth, We're
- 19:53Speaker 2: gonna have like it's gonna We're going from prayer breakfast
- 19:57Speaker 2: to afternoon book event, brunch type events. He's brunching it out.
- 20:04Speaker 2: We're gonna have a brunch, We're gonna have photo ops.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I mean, it's just gonna be a nice time. This
- 20:11Speaker 2: is how I want to celebrate my birthday. Everybody know,
- 20:13Speaker 2: every year I choose to celebrate other people. This year,
- 20:19Speaker 2: I chose to celebrate poets. And there were twenty poets
- 20:25Speaker 2: that feature or featured inside of the book that is
- 20:31Speaker 2: going to drop on April the first, which is my birthday.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I turned fifty. Thank God, I thank God that I
- 20:41Speaker 2: look this good despite all that I went through. A
- 20:44Speaker 2: lot of people would say, I'm glad I don't look
- 20:48Speaker 2: like what I've been through. But I thank God that
- 20:53Speaker 2: I look this good despite all that I've been through,
- 20:56Speaker 2: because look, it took that that I went through for
- 21:00Speaker 2: me to look like this. Right. So here, just imagine
- 21:05Speaker 2: if I not went through what I went through, what
- 21:08Speaker 2: I would look like, right, That's what I'm talking about.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I'm talking about if I look this good despite of
- 21:15Speaker 2: all that I went through, because all of this is
- 21:17Speaker 2: His glory, this is all. So if I look this good.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Just imagine, just imagine if I not went through some
- 21:26Speaker 2: of the stuff, what I would look like. So I'm
- 21:28Speaker 2: just hallelujah, thank you Jesus, I thank you, I thank
- 21:32Speaker 2: you that I don't behave it is what it is.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I'm thankful to have you here. I'm excited. My nephew's excited.
- 21:41Speaker 2: He reminded me that Auntie, no dolatry decorations, no, no
- 21:48Speaker 2: this no that. I said, Okay, you got it. So
- 21:50Speaker 2: he is pretty much in charge of all of the
- 21:54Speaker 2: background stuff. He said, Auntie, just make sure you have
- 21:57Speaker 2: who you won't there. So I'm just telling everybod even
- 22:00Speaker 2: those that cannot come as a vendor, like just come,
- 22:08Speaker 2: get you a seat, sit down and in a chair,
- 22:11Speaker 2: stand up, get you a snack, get you a picture,
- 22:14Speaker 2: meet some of the other authors. Talk to some other
- 22:17Speaker 2: people that we are amongst every day we get on
- 22:20Speaker 2: this social media we have. But we have some people
- 22:23Speaker 2: that's coming in. We have some individuals that's coming from
- 22:26Speaker 2: North Carolina. We have individuals that's coming from Florida. Hopefully
- 22:31Speaker 2: we have some that's gonna come from around the Georgia
- 22:34Speaker 2: area because they right here in Georgia. If they don't.
- 22:36Speaker 2: They are truly gonna disappoint me. But if they don't
- 22:40Speaker 2: show up, I would definitely charge it to something else
- 22:42Speaker 2: and not the heart. But we have individuals that's gonna
- 22:46Speaker 2: show up. We have individuals that are coming to be
- 22:50Speaker 2: a part. They're coming to be a part of the
- 22:53Speaker 2: private breakfast. I'm excited to have Shaniya, who has just
- 22:58Speaker 2: launched her first book and she's actually having her first
- 23:03Speaker 2: book release lunch and this Saturday. So we're headed to
- 23:09Speaker 2: grow Towns, Georgia, is just right outside of Augusta, and
- 23:13Speaker 2: we're gonna be doing a lunch party from four thirty
- 23:15Speaker 2: to eight thirty. So if y'all are in that area
- 23:18Speaker 2: and want to stop by and help celebrate her. It's
- 23:23Speaker 2: a celebration, you know, even though it's a devotion and
- 23:27Speaker 2: we're sharing God's word. We want people to know that
- 23:30Speaker 2: you can celebrate His word, that you can have fun,
- 23:34Speaker 2: enjoy it. You don't have to be so holier than
- 23:37Speaker 2: now that you let life happen without you, because life
- 23:41Speaker 2: is happening, and you've got to learn how to apply
- 23:44Speaker 2: the word so that you can continue to live life too,
- 23:47Speaker 2: so that life don't happen around you. You can be
- 23:49Speaker 2: a part of living in life too, because nowhere is
- 23:53Speaker 2: say you can't have no fun, Like we're gonna, we gonna,
- 23:56Speaker 2: We're gonna come out there. We're gonna be playing some music.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Of course it's it's gonna be appropriate music. We're gonna
- 24:01Speaker 2: play music. We're gonna dance, We're gonna, we're gonna celebrate
- 24:05Speaker 2: because it's a celebration. She just released the book, so
- 24:08Speaker 2: we're gonna celebrate. She's gonna have some adors. She's even
- 24:12Speaker 2: gonna do some giveaways. She's gonna give away some books.
- 24:15Speaker 2: She's gonna share a little bit, and then we get
- 24:19Speaker 2: stone enjoy each other's company. Those that she's invited to
- 24:23Speaker 2: come out to share, whether vendors or whatever they are,
- 24:28Speaker 2: We're just gonna share. I think she may want me
- 24:31Speaker 2: to em C, so I may be EMC in that night,
- 24:35Speaker 2: So y'all know, it may be alone like, but I'm
- 24:40Speaker 2: always for it. I'm always for it. I'm always for it, y'all.
- 24:44Speaker 2: We do like to get books for red carpets. If
- 24:47Speaker 2: you like, you need somebody to interview for your red carpet.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You need somebody to, you know, hold some private interviews
- 24:54Speaker 2: if you just want somebody to come and maybe interview
- 24:59Speaker 2: you for your book, your business or whatever. We do
- 25:02Speaker 2: that too, and we can do live interviews. So if
- 25:05Speaker 2: you want us to comb to your business, but you
- 25:07Speaker 2: know all that comes with the price, so you have
- 25:10Speaker 2: to get with us, and we could definitely make it happen.
- 25:15Speaker 2: We don't have shows on Saturdays, so we are available
- 25:20Speaker 2: and we are available for hire. So if you need
- 25:24Speaker 2: someone to host the conference, if you need someone whether
- 25:27Speaker 2: it's virtual or live, if you need someone to be
- 25:31Speaker 2: a speaker at a conference and you need a keynote speaker,
- 25:34Speaker 2: we got it. Everything you need. The crew got it.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I'm telling you it's not much that them divas cannot do.
- 25:43Speaker 2: And I tell you they are a diverse group of individuals. Yes,
- 25:47Speaker 2: and I'm gonna forever shot them out because they are
- 25:50Speaker 2: worthy of being shouted out. I don't care if it's
- 25:52Speaker 2: Women History Month, I don't care what month it is.
- 25:57Speaker 2: They're definitely worthy of that. Anybody that can really follow
- 26:03Speaker 2: a vision of a crazy lady then be out over
- 26:07Speaker 2: the place and sometimes don't know where she going and coming,
- 26:12Speaker 2: but they can trust that vision because they know that
- 26:14Speaker 2: it's something that got placed in the heart. But they
- 26:16Speaker 2: can trust it, and they can believe in and and
- 26:19Speaker 2: and they don't walk away when I push them, because
- 26:23Speaker 2: y'all know I can push you. Y'all you know I
- 26:26Speaker 2: can definitely push you. And don't get comfortable where you are,
- 26:31Speaker 2: because once you get comfortable, once I think you are
- 26:34Speaker 2: comfortable where you are, I'm gonna start pushing you some more.
- 26:38Speaker 2: So know that if you come in contact with me,
- 26:42Speaker 2: it is it is definitely designed. It is a part
- 26:46Speaker 2: of the plan. And my job is to help you
- 26:50Speaker 2: to go to the next level. My job is to
- 26:52Speaker 2: push you outside that box, to push you to a
- 26:56Speaker 2: level that you probably thought you could never go to,
- 26:59Speaker 2: because I once was that person. And I'm grateful that
- 27:06Speaker 2: God places people like Trevina, Latanya Black Diamond, Alma Shanet,
- 27:15Speaker 2: doctor Shira Patrees, Shining, just so many people, even some
- 27:23Speaker 2: of the hosts that have come through, and even if
- 27:26Speaker 2: they're not here anymore, you know, everything happens for a
- 27:30Speaker 2: reason in the season. I thank God for those learning experiences,
- 27:35Speaker 2: those things that we can draw from because I don't
- 27:38Speaker 2: know about you, but I ain't never been here before,
- 27:41Speaker 2: and if I have been here before, I don't remember.
- 27:43Speaker 2: So I need to the experiences of those that are
- 27:47Speaker 2: in the now, those that are experiencing what is going
- 27:50Speaker 2: on now. You know, I appreciate all that my ancestors
- 27:54Speaker 2: did to pave the way for me, But now it's
- 27:57Speaker 2: time for me to pave the way for somebody else
- 28:00Speaker 2: so that we can keep going what our ancestors had
- 28:04Speaker 2: already started for us. I keep hearing the slogan saying
- 28:08Speaker 2: that I'm not my ancestors, and a lot of people
- 28:11Speaker 2: have been getting offended by that. They've been saying that
- 28:14Speaker 2: all that our ancestors have been doing that we should
- 28:18Speaker 2: not be saying that and.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Saying that I'm my ancestors' wildest dreams, I say.
- 28:27Speaker 2: And I say this to them because because of all
- 28:31Speaker 2: that our ancestors done, we're able to do what we're doing.
- 28:35Speaker 2: So it's not that we're not saying that we're not
- 28:39Speaker 2: our ancestors because because of what they went through and
- 28:43Speaker 2: what they endured, they have instilled in us that we
- 28:46Speaker 2: don't have to go through that. We don't have to
- 28:48Speaker 2: endure that because they did it for us. So for
- 28:51Speaker 2: those that get offended by that, they want better for us.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Just like the word say, he won't greater, they won't
- 28:57Speaker 2: better for us. That's why they went through what they
- 29:00Speaker 2: went through so that we can have greater so that
- 29:02Speaker 2: we wouldn't have to go through it. So when they
- 29:05Speaker 2: understand that, that they can understand why we say we
- 29:08Speaker 2: are not our ancestors. And I'm gonna keep saying it
- 29:11Speaker 2: because I'm not my ancestor, because guess what, I don't
- 29:16Speaker 2: know if I could have endured what my ancestors endured.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I don't know if I could have endured the whippings,
- 29:24Speaker 2: the rape, the trauma. I don't know if I could
- 29:29Speaker 2: have endured that and been able to still try to
- 29:34Speaker 2: run a household, to steal, bore babies, to still, you know,
- 29:39Speaker 2: be a woman, to be a man, because we all
- 29:43Speaker 2: know what was taking place during those times. They was
- 29:47Speaker 2: doing the most degrading things to try to break us right.
- 29:50Speaker 2: So I'm glad that they endued that for us so
- 29:55Speaker 2: that we wouldn't have to go through that. So when
- 29:58Speaker 2: I say that, I'm not being disrespectful, not being in
- 30:03Speaker 2: no way ungrateful, because I am truly grateful and I
- 30:08Speaker 2: truly thank them for all that they have and do
- 30:12Speaker 2: it for us.
- 30:13Speaker 3: And I say that they crawled so we can walk
- 30:17Speaker 3: and we're walking so the next generation can run.
- 30:20Speaker 2: That's it. That's it, and that's how that's how we
- 30:26Speaker 2: get to the end of the race because somebody had
- 30:29Speaker 2: to start. You got to pass up a ton. And
- 30:33Speaker 2: you know, that's just that's just like the relay race.
- 30:35Speaker 2: We watched these relay races and we watch how they
- 30:39Speaker 2: passed up a ton. So our ancestors passed a paton
- 30:42Speaker 2: to us. Now it's up to us. Those those dashes
- 30:46Speaker 2: that we have in between our birthda and our death,
- 30:49Speaker 2: it's up for us to make that paton. Yeah, we
- 30:54Speaker 2: got to pass that baton to the next generation, right,
- 30:58Speaker 2: and then the next generation passed, but you got to
- 31:01Speaker 2: have something to pass to them. You have to have
- 31:05Speaker 2: something to leave for them. That that's why it's so
- 31:08Speaker 2: important to create history. That's why it's so important to
- 31:14Speaker 2: create and leave a legacy.
- 31:16Speaker 3: So and also with history, we as black people have
- 31:21Speaker 3: to start teaching our children at home where they come from,
- 31:28Speaker 3: because they're not going to get what they need in
- 31:33Speaker 3: school as far as our history goes. They're they're trying
- 31:38Speaker 3: to exclude everything. They don't want our children to know
- 31:42Speaker 3: that their ancestors were slaves. And you know how all
- 31:48Speaker 3: of that came about and the fact that people were
- 31:51Speaker 3: selling people and making trades and you know, using people
- 31:57Speaker 3: as baked for certain things. They want us to sweep
- 32:04Speaker 3: it under the rug and forget it.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Well, you know, we can't keep brushing it under the
- 32:09Speaker 2: rug because that rug has now gotten so big. You know,
- 32:12Speaker 2: that's what we have done for years and years and
- 32:16Speaker 2: years and years. We have constantly just brushed things under
- 32:20Speaker 2: the rug and just constantly brushing things under the rug.
- 32:23Speaker 2: That rugne became a mountain.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Now, right, And then the whole turning the other cheek
- 32:29Speaker 3: thing has gotten a little worn as well, because if
- 32:33Speaker 3: you keep continuing to turn the other cheek, they're gonna
- 32:37Speaker 3: continue to beat you down and you have to stand up,
- 32:40Speaker 3: stick your chests out and defend yourself, defend your people.
- 32:45Speaker 3: You don't, Yeah, you know, we we can be our
- 32:49Speaker 3: own worst enemies at some times sometimes.
- 32:52Speaker 2: And you said that, right, and see it goes back
- 32:54Speaker 2: in history too, because if you go back into history,
- 32:57Speaker 2: you gotta understand that, you know, everybody got everybody got
- 33:00Speaker 2: their own dirty secrets, everybody got their own what's name,
- 33:03Speaker 2: and we also have them too because we sold our
- 33:05Speaker 2: own people, right, you know, we we were at the
- 33:08Speaker 2: beginning of a lot of this. And this was about
- 33:11Speaker 2: people wanting power, and this about people wanting money and
- 33:14Speaker 2: and and the thing is still to the day in time,
- 33:16Speaker 2: you know, all of this is is still happening. So
- 33:19Speaker 2: we as people, we we have to decide, Okay, well,
- 33:22Speaker 2: am I evolving as a person? Am I helping those
- 33:27Speaker 2: around me evolve as a person?
- 33:29Speaker 1: Now?
- 33:29Speaker 2: That's what it's about now, you know. But so many
- 33:32Speaker 2: of us are so stuck in our ways. You know,
- 33:35Speaker 2: we was talking about this, and we've been talking about this,
- 33:39Speaker 2: me my foe and no mo that that that's that's
- 33:42Speaker 2: how a lot of people are, you know, that's that's
- 33:44Speaker 2: just really how they are. What happened to the village mentality?
- 33:47Speaker 2: What happened to us? Thinking about the next people? I
- 33:50Speaker 2: remember watching Good Time and watching them have have rent
- 33:57Speaker 2: parties and and but but just seeing that on TV,
- 34:01Speaker 2: but understanding that people really had that. People used to
- 34:04Speaker 2: have fish fries and and plate cells and different things
- 34:08Speaker 2: to raise money to help the people in the community.
- 34:13Speaker 2: And this was nothing that you know, nobody said and
- 34:16Speaker 2: say something that I saw coming up. This is something
- 34:20Speaker 2: that I saw, you know, in the little community I'm
- 34:23Speaker 2: from little old South Carolina. I'm from a little old
- 34:26Speaker 2: country town. You know, we had these little places that
- 34:29Speaker 2: used to call the VFW in these clubs that you know,
- 34:34Speaker 2: they used to at the at the drop of a dime.
- 34:36Speaker 2: They used to just have a benefit concert or a
- 34:39Speaker 2: benefit dance, or a benefit dinner or something when when
- 34:43Speaker 2: somebody in the community was going through, when somebody in
- 34:46Speaker 2: the community was having us down on their look, they
- 34:48Speaker 2: may have lost the job, the meal may have a
- 34:50Speaker 2: close because we came from a meal a meal community,
- 34:54Speaker 2: so the meal may have closed, the the family may
- 34:59Speaker 2: have lost entire everything in a fire. Will come together.
- 35:05Speaker 2: You know, I watched people do it for my family.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I watched my uncle them lose their house to a fire,
- 35:13Speaker 2: and I watched people rally together and come together for
- 35:17Speaker 2: them and in the community, and I just watched just
- 35:22Speaker 2: so many different things growing up. You know, we can
- 35:26Speaker 2: we get that mentality bang? When when can we get
- 35:30Speaker 2: that village?
- 35:31Speaker 3: At this point, it starts with us, because we have
- 35:37Speaker 3: to start doing and do less talking and more doing.
- 35:43Speaker 3: You know, we we want these things to happen, but
- 35:45Speaker 3: they're not just gonna magically appear without us putting in
- 35:49Speaker 3: some uh blood sweat and tears behind it. Right, you know,
- 35:54Speaker 3: things have to be done, and it starts with us
- 36:00Speaker 3: because again, like I said before, sometimes we can be
- 36:03Speaker 3: our own worst enemy. I can remember a time where
- 36:10Speaker 3: people actually had villages. You get in trouble as a
- 36:14Speaker 3: as a kid, your neighbor gonna get you. Your mama
- 36:18Speaker 3: and them extra aunties and uncles that are not related
- 36:22Speaker 3: to you by blood, but they know all your business
- 36:24Speaker 3: because they your mama sons told it. And and that's
- 36:28Speaker 3: the That's what I grew up in, and that's what
- 36:31Speaker 3: I've created for myself and my son. Again, Trevita, that
- 36:38Speaker 3: has been my best friend since I was twelve. So
- 36:42Speaker 3: my son knows her as Aunt Travina. Her kids know
- 36:46Speaker 3: me as Aunt Tanya, and that's what has been all
- 36:50Speaker 3: their lives. Like you know, and she fussed mine, I
- 36:54Speaker 3: fuss at hers.
- 36:55Speaker 1: It.
- 36:56Speaker 3: It's that community of knowing that there's love where you know,
- 37:02Speaker 3: she trusts me with her kids and I trust her
- 37:06Speaker 3: with mine, to the point where we ain't got to say, oh, well,
- 37:10Speaker 3: you can't do this with mine and I can't do
- 37:12Speaker 3: this with yours. And you know what I'm saying, because
- 37:15Speaker 3: it truly, indeed takes a village to raise a family
- 37:20Speaker 3: to raise does Yeah.
- 37:24Speaker 2: And especially with all this going in today in time,
- 37:29Speaker 2: I see shine and say false evidence appearing real? Was
- 37:34Speaker 2: the plan to divide us, for us to be accolated, Yeah,
- 37:39Speaker 2: that was one of theirs from the beginning, you know.
- 37:43Speaker 3: And yet doing that was a part of the plan.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Also Section eight and food stamps was a part of
- 37:52Speaker 3: the plan. You can get food stamps and section eight
- 37:57Speaker 3: and get three bedroom apartment for a little bit of nothing.
- 38:02Speaker 3: But the kicker is, you can't have a man in
- 38:06Speaker 3: your house. It's all to keep families divided.
- 38:12Speaker 2: That that was part of the plan from the get go.
- 38:15Speaker 2: When when and all of that came in place right
- 38:18Speaker 2: in the midst of them and slavery and all of that.
- 38:25Speaker 2: So in order for them to be able to continue
- 38:28Speaker 2: to control us as black people, to control the man,
- 38:31Speaker 2: to keep them, they would do everything that they could
- 38:36Speaker 2: do to keep the man. Why do you think our
- 38:38Speaker 2: prisons are overflowing with men? That that is their way
- 38:41Speaker 2: to keep them enslaved, That is the way to keep
- 38:44Speaker 2: them with free label. That is the way for them
- 38:47Speaker 2: to exploit them. And it's always been the man, Where
- 38:51Speaker 2: do you go to get free labor for you're talking
- 38:55Speaker 2: about giving nineteen and twenty year olds and eighteen year
- 38:58Speaker 2: olds and even fourteen as though it's fourteen and thirteen
- 39:01Speaker 2: year old. You're talking about giving these people life twenty
- 39:03Speaker 2: five and forty years. So now you're getting twenty five
- 39:06Speaker 2: and forty years of free service. That is really what's
- 39:09Speaker 2: going on. So when people really wake up and understand
- 39:11Speaker 2: really what has been going on from the beginning, it
- 39:15Speaker 2: never ended. Slavery never ended if you really look at
- 39:19Speaker 2: it and be real with yourself. But see a lot
- 39:21Speaker 2: of us we don't even want to be real with
- 39:23Speaker 2: what's going on around us. But we see it, but
- 39:26Speaker 2: we don't want to be real about what's going on.
- 39:28Speaker 2: So I want to encourage everybody. I am going to
- 39:32Speaker 2: be doing a six month series over on the WBNN
- 39:39Speaker 2: I air every four weeks at nine thirty pm. My
- 39:43Speaker 2: next show is actually gonna be April to second, which
- 39:45Speaker 2: is the day after my birthday. We're gonna do a
- 39:47Speaker 2: birthday celebration. We're gonna have some poets that were a
- 39:50Speaker 2: part of Crowning Glory. They're gonna come on. They were
- 39:54Speaker 2: a part of that book, So we're gonna they're gonna
- 39:56Speaker 2: come on, but that thirty that month, I will have
- 40:01Speaker 2: a second show. I have two shows in April, so
- 40:04Speaker 2: I will have a second show that's gonna kick off
- 40:06Speaker 2: the six month series. So for the next six month
- 40:11Speaker 2: until September, Individuals is gonna be able to come on,
- 40:14Speaker 2: and we're gonna talk about the current state of America,
- 40:20Speaker 2: the Great America. And I ain't talking about a sea.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I'm talking about We're gonna talk about that. So I
- 40:29Speaker 2: am definitely inviting individuals. I want people to join me
- 40:34Speaker 2: in the studio live on air. I want them to
- 40:37Speaker 2: call in. I want them to be a part of
- 40:39Speaker 2: the conversation. And then I want those that can call
- 40:42Speaker 2: in and chime into the conversation to chime in too.
- 40:45Speaker 2: But hopefully I'm going to have some guests. I want
- 40:48Speaker 2: individuals from all walks of life to come on. I
- 40:51Speaker 2: don't care what race you are, I don't care what
- 40:54Speaker 2: ethnic background, I don't care what gender, I don't care
- 40:57Speaker 2: who you choose to sleep with. I want to hear
- 41:00Speaker 2: everybody's voice about the current state of America because it
- 41:03Speaker 2: takes all of us to make this go around. So
- 41:06Speaker 2: let's make this go around. I want to thank everybody
- 41:10Speaker 2: for tuning in tonight. Thank all of the hosts that
- 41:12Speaker 2: have been chiming in. I thank you for your support.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Y'all continue to share the Crew podcasts because I'm telling you,
- 41:20Speaker 2: these women are definitely doing some amazing things and pacting
- 41:24Speaker 2: the community, not just their local community, but the communities worldwide.
- 41:29Speaker 2: We're on a global platform. You can hear our replays
- 41:33Speaker 2: through most platforms iHeart, Spotify, Amazon Music, most platforms. If
- 41:39Speaker 2: you just google, Yeah, I said it, If you just
- 41:42Speaker 2: google the Crew podcast, I guarantee you some things are
- 41:47Speaker 2: gonna pop up and you'll be able to check us
- 41:49Speaker 2: out and see what we're doing. Because we're definitely a
- 41:52Speaker 2: crew to watch. We're definitely we're definitely doing our thing.
- 41:57Speaker 2: We're definitely I'm not gonna say we're doing our things.
- 42:00Speaker 2: They're definitely doing their thing. Because I'm behind the scenes,
- 42:03Speaker 2: I try to make sure that things behind the scenes
- 42:06Speaker 2: are taking care of So that's what I'm doing, trying
- 42:09Speaker 2: to give them an outlet so that they can continue
- 42:11Speaker 2: to be a voice. So Latanya, before we close on tonight,
- 42:16Speaker 2: I want you to share with those that are tuned in,
- 42:19Speaker 2: just something to encourage them on this journey as a
- 42:22Speaker 2: woman creating history and about international women history. Money for
- 42:27Speaker 2: that woman that may be out there, that may be lost,
- 42:30Speaker 2: that may be going through. Encourage her on today to
- 42:33Speaker 2: stay on this journey to know that her greater is
- 42:37Speaker 2: yet to come.
- 42:40Speaker 3: I will say this, and I'm saying it to myself.
- 42:46Speaker 3: It may rain, but with God, we won't get with
- 42:51Speaker 3: Just stay in the game. They motivated, they prayed up.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Watch your circle, watch the people that you listen to
- 43:03Speaker 3: what you're watching, and just stay motivated. No matter what
- 43:09Speaker 3: that looks like to you. You know it begins and
- 43:13Speaker 3: ends with you. You have to decide every day that
- 43:17Speaker 3: you're gonna get up and make that day count. And
- 43:21Speaker 3: however you do that, you have to see it through.
- 43:26Speaker 3: And as I always say, you may be delayed, but
- 43:29Speaker 3: what is for you will never be denied unto you,
- 43:32Speaker 3: So you have to keep pushing.
- 43:36Speaker 2: A man. But I definitely want to thank you for
- 43:39Speaker 2: joining me on tonight. I want to thank you for
- 43:41Speaker 2: stopping by and sharing because you truly could have been
- 43:44Speaker 2: somewhere else, but the fact that you chose to stop
- 43:48Speaker 2: in and share with me and be a part of
- 43:50Speaker 2: this broadcast to truly support Alma on tonight, I truly
- 43:55Speaker 2: appreciate you for that, and I pray God's choice listens
- 44:00Speaker 2: upon you on tonight. So but everyone, yes, I also
- 44:06Speaker 2: want to thank you for being the leader that you are.
- 44:10Speaker 2: None of this stuff would even be possible if it
- 44:13Speaker 2: wasn't for you and your vision.
- 44:18Speaker 3: You crowd so that we could walk, if I must say,
- 44:22Speaker 3: And you continue to be a light in darkness, and
- 44:28Speaker 3: we appreciate your light. And you know, I can't speak
- 44:33Speaker 3: for everybody, but only for myself. You are appreciated. We
- 44:38Speaker 3: love you, and we adore you, and we're thankful for
- 44:42Speaker 3: what you do for them divas because it's us against
- 44:47Speaker 3: the world and we you know, we thank you for it.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Man, I truly thank God for each and every one
- 44:55Speaker 2: of you, guys, And again I prediate He truly bless
- 45:00Speaker 2: you for your sacrifice. And I truly thank Him for
- 45:06Speaker 2: your words of kindness or encouragement, because just hearing it
- 45:11Speaker 2: sometimes keeps you going. It keeps you going because you know,
- 45:19Speaker 2: individuals don't always know what you're going through and what
- 45:21Speaker 2: you're dealing with, but sometimes those words will encourage you
- 45:25Speaker 2: and uplift you. So thank you, and He always know
- 45:28Speaker 2: what you need when you needed. He's always time. So
- 45:32Speaker 2: I'm grateful for you. I'm grateful for everyone, for all
- 45:36Speaker 2: of their roles, for whatever their roles are, from the
- 45:39Speaker 2: least of them to the greatest of them, because well,
- 45:42Speaker 2: we all have a part that there's something that we're
- 45:45Speaker 2: all supposed to be doing, because we all make up
- 45:47Speaker 2: the kingdom, we all make up a body. Like I
- 45:50Speaker 2: don't know what I would do without my pinky. I
- 45:52Speaker 2: don't know what I would do without my thumb. I
- 45:55Speaker 2: know what I would do if I didn't have some
- 45:58Speaker 2: of the things that I had that make me who
- 46:00Speaker 2: I am. So I'm grateful. So thank you for being
- 46:06Speaker 2: your part of our body. So thank you for all
- 46:11Speaker 2: that you do, and just continue to be a light,
- 46:14Speaker 2: continue to be that was, and continue to allow.
- 46:17Speaker 3: God it gets greater later. Everything won't happen today, it
- 46:22Speaker 3: won't happen tomorrow. But you can bet your bottom dollar

- 46:57Speaker 2: around the applause because guess what, I can't give her
- 47:00Speaker 2: no flowers, but I can cheer her own and give
- 47:02Speaker 2: her applause for all that she do. So let's give

- 47:09Speaker 2: for all what she do over here on the podcast
