- 0:05Speaker 1: My name is Julie Nguyen and this is the Spiritual Shit Show.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Today I want to share this practice that is unfolding and evolving for me, so I have yet to experience the end result, but in the practice of it it is really kind of fucking fun.
- 0:22Speaker 1: So it is the practice of joy.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I have a pretty solid gratitude practice and when I started deep diving into cultivating spiritual practices, gratitude was the first thing that got me started on my journey.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So every morning I would write my gratitude list and we'll talk more about gratitude later, but today I'm going to continue to focus on joy.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The last podcast was centered around how to get yourself unstuck.
- 0:53Speaker 1: For me personally, I have felt like my life has just been running on this endless loop for years and years and while I can see the beauty and the benefit and I do hold deep gratitude and appreciation for the time and I can see how the time has really benefited me, I no longer have anxiety.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I feel stronger in who I am as a person.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I have gained so many healing tools and just internal clarity and awareness and at the same time it feels like just a loop that I am on and this next stage of remembering who I am, who I once was, and getting more of her back online.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's all pointing back to creating a daily joyful practice.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Joy, it is the centering point within that cultivates excitement for life.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Joy is what fuels your desires so you can manifest forward.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Joy is what brings light into your physical body.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Cultivating a joyful practice illuminates a joyful spirit.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It also is the fuel for the excitement that is needed so that you can create your goals.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And isn't that what we're here for?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Ultimately is to remember that we are the artists of our life, that we get to create, to manifest our life forward.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But it begins with gratitude and joy.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I want you to create your joy list.
- 2:49Speaker 1: What is it that is literally so joyful for you?
- 2:54Speaker 1: What do you love?
- 2:56Speaker 1: What cultivates joy?
- 2:57Speaker 1: And then I want you to commit to doing at least one joyful act.
- 3:05Speaker 1: This could be spontaneously dancing in your living room or on your lunch break.
- 3:12Speaker 1: This could be intentionally listening to your favorite playlist.
- 3:17Speaker 1: What sparks joy?
- 3:19Speaker 1: And can you do that?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Can you commit to intentionally doing one joyful act today?
- 3:26Speaker 1: And then, in the evening, next to your bed, have your joy notebook and I want you to reflect back on your day and note right down all of the things that brought you joy Clear, sunny sky, dinner with the family, a dance class, petting your dog, watering your flowers, reading your good book, sweet conversation with a stranger, whatever it is.
- 3:57Speaker 1: But let's cultivate a practice of joy by intentionally recognizing the abundance of joyful moments in our life and also our ability to turn on that joy switch, to help shift our mindset to cultivate more happiness, joy, creativity in our life.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Just to make sure you hear it, today you are so loved, incredibly lovable, and I love you.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Now go and have a joyful day.
