- 1:33Speaker 5: We are very excited to have in studio former L
- 1:36Speaker 5: s U baseball player Cole Freeman, also founder of the
- 1:39Speaker 5: Heart Has No Limit Foundation. Cole, always a pleasure to
- 1:44Speaker 5: catch up with you. Funny enough. So I was on
- 1:46Speaker 5: a flight to Miami to go cover the National Championship
- 1:50Speaker 5: game and guests, of all the people, guess who I
- 1:52Speaker 5: got a chance to sit next to on the plane.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Matt let's see who it.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Was, Cold, and so it was very good to catch
- 2:03Speaker 5: up with. Then we talked about a lot of different things.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Glad to have you on this show, Cold, because you've
- 2:07Speaker 5: got a lot of things going on.
- 2:09Speaker 6: I do, and I appreciate you having me on the show.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Well, what we've got going on right now with Hard
- 2:13Speaker 6: Has On Limits Foundation is a ton of good things.
- 2:16Speaker 6: We've We've created our curriculum. We're a belief development program,
- 2:21Speaker 6: So what we try to instill and all the kids
- 2:24Speaker 6: is a different belief system. So we're in boys and
- 2:27Speaker 6: girls called right now Juvenile Correction Center. And one of
- 2:30Speaker 6: the biggest things that we were able to accomplish in
- 2:33Speaker 6: the last month month and a half is getting our
- 2:35Speaker 6: first NCAA Division one program to where we're gonna go
- 2:39Speaker 6: into that university specifically and give our program to our
- 2:44Speaker 6: student athletes and see if we can change their belief
- 2:47Speaker 6: system ultimately their optimism is Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 5: This specific program, now, this is something that has been
- 2:52Speaker 5: a passion of yours for a long time. I mean
- 2:55Speaker 5: not just you know, over the last year or two.
- 2:57Speaker 5: I mean even going back to your playing days. I
- 2:58Speaker 5: remember you had a passion for a lot of different
- 3:01Speaker 5: things and so kind of for our listeners, tell us
- 3:03Speaker 5: how everything got started, how the foundation got started?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Why is so important to you? Yeah?
- 3:08Speaker 6: Well, how the foundation got started was just me kind
- 3:10Speaker 6: of reflecting all my career after finishing up and being like,
- 3:14Speaker 6: there's something more I want to give back to the community,
- 3:16Speaker 6: and especially after everything that I was able to achieve
- 3:19Speaker 6: and all the help that I had had, But how
- 3:21Speaker 6: hard has the women started? Was just really my story
- 3:23Speaker 6: about overcoming adversity, and once I got to LSU and
- 3:27Speaker 6: that was my ultimate goal. One of the things I've
- 3:29Speaker 6: cut on my wristband says why not me? When I
- 3:32Speaker 6: was growing up, I was like, why can't I be
- 3:33Speaker 6: the second basement at LSU. So once I was able
- 3:36Speaker 6: to achieve that and then you know, getting drafted, going
- 3:39Speaker 6: to play six years, I started reflecting at my entire
- 3:42Speaker 6: career at LSU.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And like, Okay, why did I make it?
- 3:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:45Speaker 6: And what I started realizing was, yes, I had the ability,
- 3:48Speaker 6: but there were a ton of friends that I had
- 3:51Speaker 6: and people that had met that had the ability as well.
- 3:54Speaker 6: But the separator was that mindset. So I was like, Okay,
- 3:57Speaker 6: why not Why can't I try I instill this mindset
- 4:01Speaker 6: in a young kid's mind at an early age, so
- 4:04Speaker 6: that when they're going through all of life's adversity, that
- 4:06Speaker 6: they know how to handle it. They're still going to
- 4:07Speaker 6: face it. We can't take that away. Nobody can hide
- 4:09Speaker 6: it from them. But can we instill the right traits
- 4:13Speaker 6: and characteristics that they can handle those situations to ultimately
- 4:17Speaker 6: lead them to a successful life.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So you said that you we're working with their first
- 4:22Speaker 3: NCAA team. Now, yeah, so what so what does that
- 4:26Speaker 3: mean when you go in and work with the team
- 4:27Speaker 3: and kind of is that kind of the goal of
- 4:29Speaker 3: everything is to kind of build it through kind of
- 4:32Speaker 3: what you know, which would be of course college college athletics. Like,
- 4:35Speaker 3: what's the what's the overall goal for you?
- 4:37Speaker 6: Yeah, the overall goal is for the masses. I mean,
- 4:40Speaker 6: we've got a whole ecosystem bringing in the app that
- 4:42Speaker 6: we're getting built, our clothing brand side the for profit.
- 4:45Speaker 6: But really obviously with me being an athlete, that's kind
- 4:48Speaker 6: of my niche and that's a little kind of step
- 4:51Speaker 6: in easy way to go. But one also thing was that, Okay,
- 4:55Speaker 6: these younger kids that we're trying to get to buy
- 4:57Speaker 6: into our program, who do they look up to they
- 4:59Speaker 6: look up to college athletes. Yeah, so if we can
- 5:02Speaker 6: get something that the college athletes are doing, they're more
- 5:04Speaker 6: inclined to, you know, wanting to fight at the bit because,
- 5:08Speaker 6: oh my, this person that I look up to is
- 5:11Speaker 6: going through the same thing. So it's just kind of
- 5:14Speaker 6: another stepping stone. We started with the Boys and Girls
- 5:16Speaker 6: Club at Juvenile Correction and Center. Now we've got our
- 5:18Speaker 6: first NCAA program that we're going into and then come
- 5:23Speaker 6: August we'll hopefully been in some public schools down in Louisiana.
- 5:26Speaker 6: So but the ultimate goal is to test everything that
- 5:29Speaker 6: we're doing and then, like I said, give it out
- 5:31Speaker 6: to the masses.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Dude.
- 5:32Speaker 5: The thing I think you and I actually talked about
- 5:34Speaker 5: this last time we caught up. So all sports are different.
- 5:37Speaker 5: There's like different mindsets, there's different success rates, and you know,
- 5:41Speaker 5: for football, it's you got to be a little bit
- 5:43Speaker 5: more perfect.
- 5:45Speaker 2: You know if you mess up, And we always talk about.
- 5:46Speaker 5: If you're a left tackle right and you win, you
- 5:49Speaker 5: throw the ball forty times, you win thirty five of
- 5:51Speaker 5: those reps and you get beat five times, the other
- 5:53Speaker 5: guy's got five secks.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You're getting cut.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Like, it's a different but in baseball, you're gonna have failure. Yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 5: you know you're gonna have failure. You can failure and
- 6:00Speaker 5: be the best player on the planet. Like, to me,
- 6:03Speaker 5: that's always something that's a little bit different and how
- 6:06Speaker 5: you have failure, except that you're going to have it
- 6:10Speaker 5: and then come out on the other side still a
- 6:11Speaker 5: really good player with a great mindset Like that to
- 6:14Speaker 5: me is a little bit for him because you got
- 6:16Speaker 5: to be mentally tough to play the game of baseball.
- 6:19Speaker 5: If you play a tournament, right, and you have let's say,
- 6:22Speaker 5: you know, on a weekend, you have fifteen at bats, right,
- 6:25Speaker 5: and you get five hits, pretty good weekend, right, You
- 6:30Speaker 5: five for fifteen, you had a couple doubles mix in there.
- 6:32Speaker 5: That's a pretty good weekend. But you failed ten times.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Like how much of that do you talk about like
- 6:37Speaker 5: with young players, like, hey, you're going to go through this.
- 6:39Speaker 5: You're going to have times where you're like, man, I
- 6:41Speaker 5: keep failing, you know, I struck out twice today, whatever
- 6:44Speaker 5: it might be, because in baseball you have to be able
- 6:46Speaker 5: to deal with them.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 6: So I think the foundation starts really with our first
- 6:51Speaker 6: curriculum came out as our belief curriculum, So it's bringing
- 6:54Speaker 6: them through eight to ten different modules starting from shame
- 6:57Speaker 6: and gilt all the way down to purpose. Yeah, that's
- 7:00Speaker 6: something that you've just got to kind of embrace. But
- 7:03Speaker 6: with this new curriculum that we've brought on being called
- 7:07Speaker 6: the optimism curriculum, you've got to be optimistic about your
- 7:10Speaker 6: future and about you know, your play. So like you said,
- 7:14Speaker 6: I mean, yes, if I go five for fifteen, I'm
- 7:16Speaker 6: feeling pretty good. But also I could easily go over fifteen. Yeah, okay,
- 7:20Speaker 6: well maybe I got my fifteen bat at bats out
- 7:22Speaker 6: the way, what are the next ten gonna look? And
- 7:24Speaker 6: that's really the only way, especially in baseball, to look
- 7:26Speaker 6: at it, because it can quickly spiral it. Like you said,
- 7:29Speaker 6: I mean, it's not football, where you know, if you
- 7:32Speaker 6: give up five tackles and you know you're getting cut,
- 7:34Speaker 6: there's a little grace period of how hard the sport
- 7:37Speaker 6: is it being more of a mental sport than anything.
- 7:40Speaker 6: And then obviously, you know, just being as optimistic that
- 7:43Speaker 6: you know you're you're gonna be able to achieve and
- 7:45Speaker 6: compete at the level you want to.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Yeah, so let's let's talk about a team that didn't
- 7:51Speaker 3: overcome failure well LSU baseball. So overall thoughts just on
- 7:58Speaker 3: the season. I mean, you can dive into specifics, but
- 8:01Speaker 3: let's just kind of start with overall thoughts. Former player,
- 8:05Speaker 3: a lot of pride in the program. Of course, coming
- 8:07Speaker 3: off an incredible season last year, then we get this year.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Obviously step in the wrong direction, but just overall thoughts
- 8:15Speaker 3: in the season.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, like we touched on a little bit
- 8:18Speaker 6: in the break. I think obviously them losing a bunch
- 8:21Speaker 6: of people in the draft is obviously hurting, but it
- 8:25Speaker 6: was definitely a year that was harder to watch for
- 8:28Speaker 6: some reason. And I think that started on the leadership side,
- 8:32Speaker 6: and you know LSU especially at times, even when I
- 8:35Speaker 6: know my junior year we were expected to do a
- 8:38Speaker 6: little bit and then we kind of really faltered and
- 8:39Speaker 6: then kind of picked it back up. But you kind
- 8:41Speaker 6: of really expect LSU, especially at the end of the season,
- 8:43Speaker 6: to kind of come around and make that push, especially
- 8:46Speaker 6: getting the SEC Tournament. But as I felt like we
- 8:50Speaker 6: just kept waiting, it just wasn't there, and then it
- 8:53Speaker 6: was a sweep and then another sweep, and you know,
- 8:55Speaker 6: usually at worse we're not getting swept walking out with
- 8:58Speaker 6: at least one game, and yeah, I don't know, if
- 9:01Speaker 6: it wasn't pitching, it was hidden. If it wasn't hidden,
- 9:03Speaker 6: it was pitching, and then it wasn't both at times,
- 9:05Speaker 6: and then obviously the defense kind of spoke for itself.
- 9:09Speaker 6: But yeah, I mean, I've got full faith in them.
- 9:13Speaker 6: They're definitely gonna learn from this. Like, like I said,
- 9:15Speaker 6: one of the shocking statistics was the most SEC games
- 9:19Speaker 6: that they had lost since coming into the SEC since
- 9:21Speaker 6: nineteen thirty three. Kind of mind blowing when you're starting out.
- 9:25Speaker 3: You know, one and two time World War two, right.
- 9:29Speaker 6: Right, So, but yeah, I mean I've got full faith
- 9:32Speaker 6: in Jay. Obviously, you know what he's already done here,
- 9:35Speaker 6: and I think he kind of realized that you need
- 9:38Speaker 6: some of those homegrown players that are diehard LSU fans
- 9:41Speaker 6: or diehard well yeah, diehard LSU fans now turned to
- 9:44Speaker 6: players and that that's really especially in those down moments,
- 9:47Speaker 6: that Will I think is gonna end up pushing the
- 9:49Speaker 6: team to get back on track.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And we've talked about that.
- 9:51Speaker 5: We talked about it a little bit before you came on, Matt,
- 9:53Speaker 5: and I've talked about it, like when you look at
- 9:55Speaker 5: you know Gavin du Guys, you look at Cad Beloso,
- 9:57Speaker 5: you look at Cole Freeman, you look at all these
- 10:00Speaker 5: are from Louisiana and your entire life, like your main
- 10:03Speaker 5: goal was to play baseball and where you know the
- 10:05Speaker 5: gold jersey on Sunday, Like you've been thinking about that
- 10:08Speaker 5: your entire life, and I do think is very important.
- 10:11Speaker 5: And LSU is unique, and not just in baseball, I
- 10:13Speaker 5: think in football as well, because like you have all
- 10:16Speaker 5: these athletes in the state per capita, I mean, it
- 10:18Speaker 5: would blow you away with the numbers, and we've seen
- 10:20Speaker 5: some of those, and you have so much talent. And
- 10:23Speaker 5: LSU is obviously the main university. And it doesn't matter
- 10:26Speaker 5: if you're in Shreepard or Homa or Baton Rouge or Lafayette,
- 10:28Speaker 5: nor Shore, wherever you're at. You're an l Shoe fan
- 10:31Speaker 5: right the entire state to Lshue fans. And so when
- 10:34Speaker 5: you get an opportunity, I know for me and I
- 10:36Speaker 5: probably you would say the same thing. The last thing
- 10:38Speaker 5: I wanted to do was to fail my state and
- 10:40Speaker 5: to fail my university. Like everything I had, everything I
- 10:44Speaker 5: could possibly give, I was going through. Not to say
- 10:46Speaker 5: that guys aren't trying hard through the portal. They are,
- 10:48Speaker 5: but it's a little bit different when you've been thinking
- 10:50Speaker 5: about it your entire life.
- 10:52Speaker 6: Yeah, especially growing up in the area and stuff. You
- 10:54Speaker 6: realize how much this game and this school means to
- 10:58Speaker 6: the surrounding area. And I mean that's what makes it
- 11:02Speaker 6: so desirable to play for them. Everything they give you too,
- 11:05Speaker 6: in the sense of like the platform that I was
- 11:08Speaker 6: getting just because I played baseball at LSU. If I
- 11:10Speaker 6: go to another school, I don't have the same platform.
- 11:13Speaker 6: It's I know, when we ended up losing the World
- 11:16Speaker 6: Series with Florida, my biggest hurt was that they were
- 11:20Speaker 6: taking this trophy back to Gainesville, where they gave like
- 11:24Speaker 6: five hundred tickets back to us for the finals because
- 11:27Speaker 6: they couldn't even feel it. And I'm looking around at
- 11:29Speaker 6: thirty thousand people in the stands and you know, we
- 11:31Speaker 6: got twenty nine to five in there, and it just
- 11:34Speaker 6: it just almost didn't seem right because it felt like
- 11:37Speaker 6: we were letting down everybody that takes off from their job,
- 11:40Speaker 6: pulls their kids out of schools. They go to this
- 11:43Speaker 6: as it's an event, so we're supposed to show up
- 11:45Speaker 6: and you know, kind of reciprocate everything that they give
- 11:48Speaker 6: to us. And you know that's that's obviously a tough feeling,
- 11:52Speaker 6: but it's it's a one um kind of place, special place.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yeah, well you said it earlier, you said, for whatever reason,
- 12:00Speaker 3: this team was harder to watch. Now, let's take like
- 12:03Speaker 3: just the the record and set that aside and try
- 12:07Speaker 3: to like dive into that because you would know better
- 12:09Speaker 3: than we would just being a couple of meat at
- 12:12Speaker 3: football players. But like and so watching baseball, like we're
- 12:15Speaker 3: trying to pinpoint why, like what is what is different?
- 12:19Speaker 3: Even like not even looking at the at the scoreboard,
- 12:22Speaker 3: like what is so much different? Like and I just
- 12:25Speaker 3: kept seeing it felt like the trend all season was
- 12:28Speaker 3: there wasn't anybody answering the call. Yeah, back against the wall,
- 12:32Speaker 3: Like you always get those moments in LSU baseball, right
- 12:35Speaker 3: where you have that big hit or whatever it is,
- 12:38Speaker 3: like when it when they need it. Now, we talked
- 12:39Speaker 3: about like in the Tennessee the Tennessee Weekend, that series,
- 12:43Speaker 3: you got it like that felt like you got those
- 12:46Speaker 3: moments and for whatever reason, the team just looked different,
- 12:50Speaker 3: felt different that way. So how do you when you
- 12:52Speaker 3: say it's harder to watch this year, Like what where
- 12:55Speaker 3: does that come from?
- 12:57Speaker 6: I think from the grit that you never kind of
- 13:00Speaker 6: saw that you were waiting for, Like you kind of
- 13:02Speaker 6: spoke on when is that moment? And I think as
- 13:05Speaker 6: you said too with Tennessee, I even me personally, I
- 13:08Speaker 6: watched all three of those games and I was like, Okay,
- 13:11Speaker 6: here it is, We're starting to roll. But then obviously
- 13:15Speaker 6: it never came came to that. And then I think
- 13:18Speaker 6: a big thing with Jake getting hurt kind of really
- 13:21Speaker 6: took the sales out of everything because I mean he
- 13:23Speaker 6: was obviously the biggest leader on that team, the biggest
- 13:27Speaker 6: you know, provider with statistics and all that. So I
- 13:32Speaker 6: just think he comes from team leadership. And again those
- 13:35Speaker 6: homegrown kids that that's kind of when they step up,
- 13:38Speaker 6: Like we had a kid Rock Russell Reynolds. Yeah, that dude,
- 13:42Speaker 6: Like that's the guy you need on your team. Because
- 13:46Speaker 6: there were multiple times, you know, we'd lose a midweek
- 13:49Speaker 6: I know our senior Yeah, we beat everybody in the SEC,
- 13:51Speaker 6: but come midweek games, we just had this what the
- 13:55Speaker 6: energy wasn't there. It was like, oh, we're kind of
- 13:56Speaker 6: lethargic going through it. He would jump on us, You know,
- 13:59Speaker 6: he's from this area, he knows what it means, and
- 14:03Speaker 6: he had been here, been there for four years. So
- 14:06Speaker 6: I mean, you need some guys on that team that
- 14:07Speaker 6: are going to play the bad boy role sometimes that
- 14:09Speaker 6: are gonna jump you know, the rest of the team's
- 14:11Speaker 6: butts to get him going. But I just think they
- 14:14Speaker 6: were lacking that this year, and I think Jay even
- 14:16Speaker 6: kind of saw that yet. Like I mentioned, he he
- 14:18Speaker 6: said something an interview on that extent. So I think
- 14:21Speaker 6: we're gonna learn from it then, you know, come back
- 14:23Speaker 6: like what I.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Was down, I did like he said, I'm not watching
- 14:26Speaker 5: the postseason. I'm not watching the college orle series. He said,
- 14:29Speaker 5: it will hurt too much to do so, and we
- 14:31Speaker 5: got a lot of work to do. That's the kind
- 14:33Speaker 5: of grinder that he is. And so Matt and I
- 14:36Speaker 5: played for coach Saban when he was at LSU, and
- 14:39Speaker 5: Jay's got a lot of Coach Saban in him. It's
- 14:41Speaker 5: one of the guys that he looks up to in
- 14:43Speaker 5: his you know, you know, coaching path and how he
- 14:46Speaker 5: wants to kind of do some of the things that
- 14:48Speaker 5: he did, and he's got a lot to him.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I don't know that it's going to work out.
- 14:52Speaker 5: But I can tell you whatever Jay Johnson has to
- 14:55Speaker 5: do to try to make it work out, and he
- 14:57Speaker 5: is going to do this offseason. He'll be highly intriguing
- 15:00Speaker 5: see how he formats everything and puts it all together,
- 15:02Speaker 5: because look, he had a lot of.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Portal misses and that's gonna happen, and.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Unfortunately it was most of them, if not all of them,
- 15:08Speaker 5: for Jay this year. But I am highly intrigued how
- 15:11Speaker 5: he puts this roster together with some of the quotes
- 15:14Speaker 5: that he's had and knowing that he can't have a
- 15:17Speaker 5: season like that back to back because he understands the
- 15:20Speaker 5: assignment of where he's at and where he's coaching.
- 15:22Speaker 6: Yeah, and I mean obviously I think we all know
- 15:24Speaker 6: he's not okay with it. That's not the kind of
- 15:26Speaker 6: guy he is. I mean, you can just see the
- 15:29Speaker 6: work that he's done already with the two national champs.
- 15:32Speaker 6: He's definitely going back to the drawing board. He's gonna
- 15:34Speaker 6: make his changes. That's one of the things I think
- 15:36Speaker 6: he's so good at now with being a younger coaches,
- 15:39Speaker 6: he can kind of adapt on the fly. Like I said,
- 15:42Speaker 6: I'm a major believer in him, and I've got no
- 15:45Speaker 6: question that we're going to be right back on track
- 15:47Speaker 6: next year, all.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Right, Coole, So certainly we want you to have the
- 15:50Speaker 5: opportunity to tell everyone because here talking about hard has

- 18:57Speaker 1: This is off the bench with Hester and Flynn, Matt
- 19:01Speaker 1: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 19:07Speaker 2: A big house.
- 19:13Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here, looking around sports news from yesterday. Blandra,
- 19:26Speaker 3: it's not good.
- 19:27Speaker 7: I mean we literally are like playing against Okacy and
- 19:30Speaker 7: the refs.
- 19:31Speaker 3: No, we're not blaming the refs right now, are we?
- 19:34Speaker 4: Taylor? Did you watch a second of that game yesterday?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yes?
- 19:38Speaker 4: Are we blaming the refs?
- 19:40Speaker 3: Okay?
- 19:41Speaker 7: At the Spurs, honestly, like Okay, they did not have
- 19:45Speaker 7: their best game, right, But Mitch tried to challenge a
- 19:52Speaker 7: call where the ball clearly bounced off his foot.
- 19:57Speaker 4: They gave the ball back to Okac. Mitch try to.
- 20:01Speaker 7: Challenge it, and he, like the reps straight up ignored
- 20:04Speaker 7: him and went on with the play.
- 20:07Speaker 3: There's a goal that.
- 20:10Speaker 7: They missed the like, and there's players that are running
- 20:15Speaker 7: into Keldon Johnson, see looking straight at Keldon Johnson, running
- 20:20Speaker 7: straight into him, and they're calling that a foul?
- 20:23Speaker 2: Right?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Did Pop not talk to him?
- 20:27Speaker 7: Pop must have not made the trip to Okay, see,
- 20:30Speaker 7: because he.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Talked to him and then they won the rep.
- 20:34Speaker 4: We're back in San Antonio. I saw a tweet yesterday
- 20:38Speaker 4: that said that there was.
- 20:38Speaker 7: A flash flood warning in San Antonio. So that's why
- 20:40Speaker 7: they lost, so that people wouldn't go out honking in
- 20:42Speaker 7: the fall they were thinking about the city.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Makes sense. Yeah, when you're that good, right, you can
- 20:48Speaker 3: do that. So okay, see is up three?
- 20:50Speaker 4: I know I'm just trying to.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Back in sant Antana. Then does it go back? Yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 3: okay if there's that's a lot of travel. There's a
- 21:00Speaker 3: lot of travel. So Oklahoma City takes down The Spurs
- 21:04Speaker 3: won twenty seven to one.
- 21:05Speaker 7: Now, admittedly, like Wimby didn't have a they didn't have
- 21:08Speaker 7: a great game, but the refs are not helping you,
- 21:11Speaker 7: they're helping great games.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Wimby's had this series.
- 21:14Speaker 8: Well, So when I was watching the game last night,
- 21:18Speaker 8: Isaiah Hartenstein has been put in there to play on Wimby.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah he was, and they didn't.
- 21:23Speaker 8: They didn't do it game one and and remember what happened,
- 21:27Speaker 8: Like Wemby goes off he has forty points. Yeah, I
- 21:30Speaker 8: went and did this earlier because I knew were going
- 21:32Speaker 8: to talk about it. The two games that Oklahoma City
- 21:36Speaker 8: has lost are the only two games Whereasiah Hartenstein has
- 21:38Speaker 8: played less than twenty minutes. Now, Game four that the
- 21:42Speaker 8: Spurs won over the weekend. He got in a little
- 21:44Speaker 8: bit of foul trouble. I get it, but like he
- 21:46Speaker 8: played thirty one minutes last night, only twelve points doesn't matter.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Fifteen abounds. He was physical down low and like he's
- 21:52Speaker 3: there for he's got one job.
- 21:54Speaker 8: Yeah right, and like you sure Wimby still got twenty,
- 21:56Speaker 8: but it was it was the efficiency was four for fifteen. Yeah,
- 21:59Speaker 8: so like he's still going to get his limit what
- 22:02Speaker 8: he could do. Because if you limit Wimby down low,
- 22:05Speaker 8: they like to play that inside out where he collapsed
- 22:07Speaker 8: so much attention, they collapse on him.
- 22:10Speaker 3: He kicks it out to their shooters.
- 22:11Speaker 8: And that's another thing, like your shooter's got to help
- 22:13Speaker 8: out victim wimben Yama, like that just that just didn't happen.
- 22:16Speaker 8: Let's they shot twenty nine percent from three the spurs.
- 22:19Speaker 8: That's not good enough when your star player has an
- 22:21Speaker 8: off night, Like the role players kind of got to
- 22:23Speaker 8: step up for him, and they have it.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Yeah, when you score, you say, twenty is a lot,
- 22:28Speaker 3: but like when you're fifteen foot tall and athletic and
- 22:30Speaker 3: a score twenty.
- 22:31Speaker 7: And you like had scored forty in game two or
- 22:34Speaker 7: whatever it was. But the Corgi predicted that this is
- 22:38Speaker 7: how it was going to go. So the Corgi that
- 22:40Speaker 7: predicts the yeah, oh, he's actually pretty accurate. The Corgy
- 22:45Speaker 7: has been very accurate, right, and the Corky predicted it
- 22:49Speaker 7: like exactly the way that it's been going. Really and
- 22:53Speaker 7: I forget the Corky's name, but the Corky predicted that
- 22:56Speaker 7: the Spurs are gonna win.
- 22:56Speaker 3: The next Orgy video come out before the game, before
- 22:59Speaker 3: they get they do before the whole series.
- 23:01Speaker 4: So right, it's not AI And is it a stare
- 23:04Speaker 4: thing like yeah, cup yeah, kind of like he he
- 23:09Speaker 4: like hits it with his and then it like goes
- 23:13Speaker 4: into the Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 2: The difference in the series, Yeah, I'm triggered.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Hertenstein who was plus twenty four, Alex Cruso who was
- 23:22Speaker 5: plus eighteen, and Carson Wallas who was plus twenty nine.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Those are three players the Thunder don't consider superstars to
- 23:30Speaker 5: say the least.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Right, It's not SGA, it's not you know, it's those
- 23:36Speaker 2: are role players.
- 23:38Speaker 3: They're number one.
- 23:39Speaker 5: I mean, Cruso had twenty two points, hit four threes,
- 23:43Speaker 5: had six assists last night, and had three steals.
- 23:46Speaker 3: That's difference in the series is bench.
- 23:51Speaker 8: That's that's my point about the role players around Wimby. Yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 8: the last game they won before this. Okay, so he's
- 23:56Speaker 8: bench scored seventy six points over the weekend, Like they
- 23:59Speaker 8: didn't do that last night. But you look at you
- 24:02Speaker 8: look at the Spurs bench. Keldon Johnson at fifteen points,
- 24:05Speaker 8: seven from Carter Bryant, five from Dylan Harbor.
- 24:08Speaker 3: That's about it. Like has been.
- 24:13Speaker 7: The last couple of games, not as productive as he
- 24:16Speaker 7: had been.
- 24:17Speaker 3: The cell as well. Yeah, like vascill last night.
- 24:19Speaker 7: And I was given va cell, Like I was like,
- 24:21Speaker 7: oh my bad, I was wrong about you the cell,
- 24:24Speaker 7: and he's like.
- 24:25Speaker 8: Me wrong, you know, in a tight game again, when
- 24:28Speaker 8: they're when they're collapsing down on Wimby, you shoot two
- 24:31Speaker 8: for eleven and pour in six points and only four
- 24:34Speaker 8: rebounds to go along with that, Like you need than
- 24:37Speaker 8: could have done that they did a lot of times,
- 24:40Speaker 8: which is all they lost. Which one of these two
- 24:45Speaker 8: teams matches that better against the Knicks.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I think the Spurs matchup better.
- 24:49Speaker 8: Yeah, I agree, I agree because the Spurs like is
- 24:52Speaker 8: good of it. I mean, the Knicks as good of
- 24:54Speaker 8: a team as they are, the little small ball they're
- 24:56Speaker 8: little small ball. They're gonna they're gona struggle with Victor
- 24:58Speaker 8: wimb Yamadella Boyce le.
- 25:00Speaker 2: I think Kat can match up better with chet down.
- 25:02Speaker 8: Lost, Yes, yeah, but but Kat's not gonna be able
- 25:05Speaker 8: to match up. And funny enough, they used to have
- 25:07Speaker 8: Hart and Stein. They don't have a Heart and Stein
- 25:09Speaker 8: coming off of their bench. US job is gonna be, Hey,
- 25:12Speaker 8: contain Victor wimbin Yama's best you can they don't. They
- 25:14Speaker 8: don't have that guy, and a lot of teams don't.
- 25:16Speaker 8: Like Okay, C's a little bit different because they're deep.
- 25:18Speaker 3: But I think nobody really knew that, oklump.
- 25:22Speaker 7: You can see Hart and yeah, I know who Hartenstein
- 25:24Speaker 7: was for a minute.
- 25:26Speaker 8: I would say, like even even though the Thunder quote
- 25:28Speaker 8: unquote deeper, like their their bench scores a little bit more.
- 25:31Speaker 8: They've been there, done that. Yeah, I would imagine the
- 25:33Speaker 8: Knicks would probably actually prefer to play okay.
- 25:36Speaker 3: See yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 7: The Spurs are also like an extremely young team.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, I mean they're gonna be
- 25:44Speaker 5: They're gonna have many, many, many chances.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Mitch Johnson's second year.
- 25:50Speaker 5: The matchup, the matchup, regardless of who, if it's Spurs
- 25:54Speaker 5: are the Thunder. You're talking about the Spurs where I
- 25:56Speaker 5: think third in the NBA and the Thunder or fifth
- 25:59Speaker 5: in the n b A and offense, and the Knicks
- 26:01Speaker 5: were top five in defense.
- 26:03Speaker 2: So like that, that aspect of it is highly intriguing
- 26:06Speaker 2: as well.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna can I set the over under in
- 26:10Speaker 3: the next ten years spurss okay at two and a
- 26:15Speaker 3: half two and a half, That's what.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I'm gonna say in the next ten years ten years.
- 26:19Speaker 2: About the over, I think I might take the over.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I think they get three because.
- 26:22Speaker 3: They are so young.
- 26:24Speaker 2: They're so young, they're so talented, and he's only going
- 26:27Speaker 2: to get better.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they still got pop.
- 26:30Speaker 3: This is the program, him jumping around like like those
- 26:34Speaker 3: legs gonna snap right.
- 26:36Speaker 4: They're so tiny, they're so tall.
- 26:37Speaker 5: What's so funny, though, is as tiny as his are
- 26:40Speaker 5: checks are tiny A longer though, so long?
- 26:45Speaker 4: Yeah, they are whatever.
- 26:46Speaker 2: The opposite of Matt's ankles are that's chick you know
- 26:50Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Strong? So they're weak.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Can you imagine if he had your ankles?
- 26:54Speaker 7: Oh my god, can you imagine if he had like
- 26:56Speaker 7: the rest of his legs, but with Matt's fat ankles.
- 27:00Speaker 3: That'd be an All Star.
- 27:00Speaker 4: I'm sorry, big bone should all.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Stone strong, strong, powerful, explosive ankles.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Anyway, thanks for triggering me for a whole segment.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I know, I just use a restaurant came back.
- 27:13Speaker 3: But that's what makes it so great. Somebody at some
- 27:17Speaker 3: point had passion when it came to an NBA game.
- 27:21Speaker 5: What's funny is we've talked about the OTB Finals and
- 27:25Speaker 5: watch it be the Thunder Nicks, and Thunder sweep the Nicks.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Right, so it doesn't even matter, doesn't matter. No, we
- 27:32Speaker 3: don't even have anything.
- 27:33Speaker 7: To carry us into that like we used to be, Like,
- 27:35Speaker 7: oh we had LSU baseball to carry us to June.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Okay, we were gonna have the OTB Final. I will see.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I can't wait till the maps are back in it.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Then I'll get into it.
- 27:45Speaker 4: I don't know if that's gonna happen.
- 27:47Speaker 3: It on Fludg's really good, but it'll be will I'll
- 27:53Speaker 3: be there. I'll be waiting, Rick.
- 27:55Speaker 5: I'm also mad that Matt refused to sign your trading card.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Matt fat ankles, Flynn. I thought that was I thought
- 28:02Speaker 5: that was step too far for him. I thought that
- 28:05Speaker 5: you've been a loyal listener ever since our hanging with
- 28:08Speaker 5: Hester days. You've given us a lot of great sketches.
- 28:11Speaker 5: You have done a lot for this show, and all
- 28:13Speaker 5: you wanted was a little inside joke.
- 28:14Speaker 2: You weren't gonna sell it. You're just gonna use.
- 28:16Speaker 5: It for your PC with this guy over here, Like
- 28:18Speaker 5: if you wanted me to sign it, you know some
- 28:21Speaker 5: I don't know. Stubby David used to call me. I'm Jake,
- 28:24Speaker 5: I do that. I put pretty much whatever you want
- 28:27Speaker 5: me to on there.
- 28:28Speaker 4: I'm Jake with a mad face?
- 28:30Speaker 3: Can I can I be honest a little bit? So
- 28:33Speaker 3: you did ask me to sign this card and put
- 28:37Speaker 3: Matt fat ankles Flynn and so of course I was like, no,
- 28:42Speaker 3: I'm not doing that. I'm not gonna demean myself on
- 28:46Speaker 3: this card right here. But actually, in the middle of
- 28:50Speaker 3: the show we had a lot of technical difficulties going on.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I didn't recognize it was him at first when they
- 28:55Speaker 3: asked me that that's on me.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Okay, my bad. I'm glad you you like you're opening up.
- 29:01Speaker 3: But hand in the air to be able to tap.
- 29:03Speaker 3: I didn't reckon if you would have known maybe maybe
- 29:06Speaker 3: before it and I'd already said no at the time,
- 29:08Speaker 3: so I just kind of, you know, I was like, whatever,
- 29:09Speaker 3: like Cassie's over here messing up our feed.
- 29:14Speaker 7: So if he were to come to if he were
- 29:16Speaker 7: to come to another poor Cassie, if you were to
- 29:18Speaker 7: come to another remote and ask you again, would you do.
- 29:22Speaker 5: It like I would sound it like freak hans, Like
- 29:27Speaker 5: you know, people make fun of how big my hands
- 29:29Speaker 5: are all the time.
- 29:29Speaker 3: What's the difference I would sign? Maybe I would with
- 29:31Speaker 3: p h A T.
- 29:32Speaker 4: What if he.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Middle, grand let's try it again that I know that
- 29:39Speaker 3: card you got that's not that expensive.
- 29:40Speaker 7: You can know you like took yourself this seriously, but okay, no.
- 29:47Speaker 2: We're not doing CANKLESLNN either. Happy medium.
- 29:51Speaker 3: We found a happy medium.
- 29:52Speaker 5: Fat ankles with pH h a T all right, yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 5: no chick fl a Cassie, Yeah, tried everything single hand,
- 30:04Speaker 5: ruined the internet.
- 30:06Speaker 7: The week that we had like a million remotes in
- 30:08Speaker 7: like three different places. I got her a twenty five
- 30:11Speaker 7: dollars Chick filake IF card because I was like, you,
- 30:13Speaker 7: we're so helpful, thank you, and that's like the that's
- 30:17Speaker 7: the way to her heart is a Chick filake IF cards.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Should you get another remote Friday.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Next Friday, next Thursday.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Charles, no bro, sorry Moscone, you can't have her.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Anyway. The Rick, thank you, thank you for all the
- 30:32Speaker 3: awesome tweets or exes you give.

- 30:45Speaker 3: reckon we look blame it on Cassie at that was
- 30:51Speaker 3: all right.
