- 0:04Speaker 1: This is the Arthur Idalla Power Hour with quint essential
- 0:07Speaker 1: New Yorker attorney Arthur Idalla, New.
- 0:10Speaker 2: York's go to lawyer.
- 0:12Speaker 1: He's here to share his stories from in the courtroom
- 0:15Speaker 1: and around the city, with interviews from high profile guests
- 0:18Speaker 1: and everyday folks calling in to talk about everything from politics, lifestyle,
- 0:23Speaker 1: health and wellness and more, and now your host making
- 0:27Speaker 1: the case for the city he loves. Attorney Arthur Idalla.
- 0:33Speaker 3: All right, we are all started up. It's Arthur Idala.
- 0:36Speaker 4: We have a very very special two hour at Stravaganza
- 0:40Speaker 4: right now. It is an anniversary. No, not a wedding
- 0:44Speaker 4: anniversary or a work anniversary. It is a radio anniversary.
- 0:49Speaker 4: It is the five year anniversary of Radio Night Live
- 0:53Speaker 4: with Kevin McCullough and Christy Nicholas, and you guys deserve
- 0:57Speaker 4: a full two hours of them. So I Arthur Idala,
- 1:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna step back, hand off the baton to two
- 1:04Speaker 4: of the finest radio hosts that I know, Kevin and Christine.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Take it away.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Forever. Christine Nicholas has now been immortalized in music. Welcome
- 1:55Speaker 2: to the fifth anniversary special of Radio Night Live. That
- 1:59Speaker 2: was Christine. So this is there's a story behind that jingle.
- 2:04Speaker 2: My wife and Ally Kate from Tea Collective conspired to
- 2:08Speaker 2: do one for my birthday, which was a couple days
- 2:11Speaker 2: ago the post. So I realized that my group had
- 2:15Speaker 2: already done the tracks for it. Ah, and I was like,
- 2:18Speaker 2: let's rework it and throw Christine's name in there. Let's
- 2:21Speaker 2: use it for the show. And so they got that
- 2:23Speaker 2: to me five thirty in the morning this morning.
- 2:26Speaker 6: They were so glad that you were able to recycle
- 2:28Speaker 6: something for me. I feel so, I feel so thought.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That was going to be nice. I love it, and
- 2:33Speaker 2: Matt said it was going to be nice. Wow. I
- 2:35Speaker 2: won't listen to them anymore. I don't know what do
- 2:38Speaker 2: you think. Welcome to the fifth anniversary edition means a lot.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We've been doing this five years, five years.
- 2:45Speaker 6: It started on March nineteenth, on you know that date
- 2:48Speaker 6: because it is Saint Joseph's Day, my father's birthday, and
- 2:52Speaker 6: that's when we got started. And it was really sort
- 2:54Speaker 6: of an experiment in a sense. AM nine seventy Salem.
- 2:58Speaker 6: They wanted to make sure that New York had so
- 3:02Speaker 6: much promotion for the businesses to reopen during COVID.
- 3:05Speaker 2: So you finished the story, Well, it was one of
- 3:08Speaker 2: those things where Jerry Crowley called me into his office
- 3:11Speaker 2: and he's like, we want to do we want to
- 3:13Speaker 2: do something to help New York back up on top.
- 3:15Speaker 2: What can we do? And we started saying, well, let's
- 3:19Speaker 2: talk about real important stuff that people deal with that's
- 3:21Speaker 2: not political. So we talked about money and travel and
- 3:24Speaker 2: wellness and legal stuff. And then on Friday, I said,
- 3:27Speaker 2: we can't do anything except something that's fun for Friday,
- 3:31Speaker 2: because that's what Friday in New York is about. Like
- 3:33Speaker 2: you go to the show, you go eat dinner, you
- 3:35Speaker 2: do all the fun stuff. And he said, well, who
- 3:38Speaker 2: would you want to have with you on that? And
- 3:40Speaker 2: I said, there's only one person I can think of
- 3:42Speaker 2: in the entire city that I want to be my
- 3:44Speaker 2: co host for that, and that's Christine Nicholas. And that
- 3:46Speaker 2: is a true story. I said your name in the meeting,
- 3:49Speaker 2: and Jerry goes, well, okay, we'll see what we can do.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I don't think he thought that we could entice you
- 3:57Speaker 2: to join us, and yet here you are five years later,
- 4:01Speaker 2: the best of all worlds.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Well, it comes from my days of being at NYC
- 4:05Speaker 6: and Company promoting the city and You know, we've had
- 4:08Speaker 6: many guests over these five years, of which I am
- 4:11Speaker 6: so grateful for. We've had folks from NYC and Company,
- 4:15Speaker 6: Julie coch or, Fred Dixon, Tiffany who I believe is
- 4:17Speaker 6: going to be joining us a little bit later today.
- 4:19Speaker 6: You know, We've had folks like Mike Burke from Statue Cruises.
- 4:23Speaker 6: We've had Ellen from the famous Ellen Stardust Diner. The
- 4:27Speaker 6: bids have been a huge supporter of ours, the business
- 4:30Speaker 6: improvement districts. I think Peter Madonia has been on almost
- 4:34Speaker 6: as many times he was on our first show, which
- 4:36Speaker 6: is great. We've had Fred Cerulo, Barbara Askins from.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Harvard guests on the first show.
- 4:40Speaker 6: We oh Joe Benicassa and Steve Cuzo actually, and then
- 4:46Speaker 6: the next show was Peter Madonia and we had well,
- 4:49Speaker 6: we have someone very special. He's been on the show.
- 4:54Speaker 6: He's here in our.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Studio, pick up that microphone.
- 4:57Speaker 6: He's been on the show for the most most times
- 5:01Speaker 6: of all guests. I believe tonight is his thirtieth time
- 5:06Speaker 6: coming on the show. I mean, which means that you know,
- 5:09Speaker 6: we love you.
- 5:10Speaker 2: That means that there is no one else even close.
- 5:12Speaker 6: And that would only be Tom Harris twenty times.
- 5:17Speaker 2: On the record book. Yes, yes, this must be twenty
- 5:20Speaker 2: six tonight, but you are twenty five times before now
- 5:24Speaker 2: Tom Harris, welcome.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Thank you so much, Tom for not only coming on
- 5:27Speaker 6: our show to update, especially during COVID Times Square being
- 5:31Speaker 6: the epicenter of the capital of the world, but just
- 5:34Speaker 6: always giving us truthful, quick updates, you know, and to
- 5:39Speaker 6: celebrate this milestone of you coming on the show for
- 5:43Speaker 6: twenty five times we have with us. You're used to
- 5:48Speaker 6: wearing you're used to wearing brass because you were a
- 5:51Speaker 6: former inspector and.
- 5:52Speaker 2: White people well, and then Michael called him t Square.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It's a little bit hip brock. You're entering your flavor
- 5:58Speaker 2: flav cycle now, that's it.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Champion of Radio Nightline, Tom Harris.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I feel like Cedric the Entertainment that's it, more appearances
- 6:09Speaker 2: than anybody else. And Buddy, it's been so much fun
- 6:12Speaker 2: to have you. Thank you for all that you've done
- 6:14Speaker 2: and for telling us the story of Times Square over
- 6:17Speaker 2: and over again. It truly is my favorite part of
- 6:20Speaker 2: the city. Like there's so much life here in the
- 6:23Speaker 2: Times Square area. I talk about it on all my shows.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But to have you come and join us and to
- 6:28Speaker 2: give us the good news regularly. It's just a really,
- 6:30Speaker 2: really spoonful thing.
- 6:31Speaker 7: Now, thank you so much. Thanks for having me on
- 6:33Speaker 7: as a guest. Thanks for everything that you're doing, because
- 6:35Speaker 7: if you think back five years ago, the city was
- 6:38Speaker 7: in a not so great place, and you can always
- 6:43Speaker 7: turn on to talk radio and hear what's bad about
- 6:45Speaker 7: the city, and it's so refreshing to tune in and
- 6:49Speaker 7: hear what's so great about the city. And you're a
- 6:52Speaker 7: big part of the recovery of Times Square of New
- 6:55Speaker 7: York City. So thank you for doing that.
- 6:57Speaker 6: Thank you, and thank you for keeping Times Square clean
- 7:00Speaker 6: and safe. It really is one of the most amazing
- 7:03Speaker 6: places to be. And we've done remotes from Times.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Scut from the heart of actual Times Square, like right
- 7:09Speaker 2: there by the Hot Takes booth. Yes.
- 7:10Speaker 6: In fact, one of our first was Hunt and Fish
- 7:13Speaker 6: Club because it was when Broadway was reopening. So I
- 7:16Speaker 6: think we're gonna have Nelson Braff on And by the way,
- 7:18Speaker 6: look who walked into the studio. We have to thank
- 7:20Speaker 6: Arthur Idalla for giving us this out.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Thank you, Arthur. I'm giving us Joanie, giving us Joni.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Felzer, who's now in the studio. Thanks Joony, Oh my god,
- 7:30Speaker 6: thank you all so sweet. But we really appreciate that.
- 7:33Speaker 6: But Tom Harris, give us the latest. I mean, there's
- 7:36Speaker 6: so much going on in Times Square always, but you've
- 7:38Speaker 6: got a couple of special events that are on the
- 7:40Speaker 6: horizon up the next couple of weeks and months.
- 7:42Speaker 7: Sure, so there's always a lot going on in Times Square.
- 7:45Speaker 7: We're going to be starting our TSQ Live series, I
- 7:49Speaker 7: think the end of April. We're going to start with
- 7:54Speaker 7: a Broadway Green Alliance concert to celebrate Earth Day. We
- 7:57Speaker 7: have about eighty small scale productions in Times Skin. You
- 8:01Speaker 7: couldn't get a hundred none.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Well, and speaking of that concert, which is on, remind
- 8:08Speaker 6: us of the date of the.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Concert, April twenty fifth.
- 8:10Speaker 6: April twenty fifth, Wicked is going to be performing, and
- 8:12Speaker 6: I know that's one of your Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Well my daughters for sure. Well you'll have to get there.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Well that's on my son's birthday, so we're gonna have
- 8:19Speaker 2: to really be there.
- 8:19Speaker 7: We will have front row seats for you. Awesome, awesome,
- 8:22Speaker 7: And then it's going to be a great summer in
- 8:24Speaker 7: New York City. It's going to be a great summer
- 8:25Speaker 7: in Times Square with the World Cup America two fifty.
- 8:29Speaker 7: We're going to have a pride display. We have our
- 8:31Speaker 7: yoga event in Times Square on the twenty first.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Just hold that thought, Tom, You're not goingwhere you stay
- 8:37Speaker 2: with us for the next segment. We're gonna take a
- 8:39Speaker 2: quick break. We are coming to you live tonight, not
- 8:41Speaker 2: from our normal studio, but we're in the heart meat
- 8:44Speaker 2: of Times Square. The if there's a hub of what
- 8:47Speaker 2: is going on in Times Square, it is where we
- 8:49Speaker 2: are tonight. But we can't tell you. It's a secret
- 8:51Speaker 2: undergra application. But come on back. Big party, fifth anniversary.
- 8:55Speaker 2: So glad you're with us.

- 11:09Speaker 10: We need more common sense in Washington. Running a country
- 11:13Speaker 10: is like running a business. Well, our current president, President Trump,
- 11:17Speaker 10: knows how to run a business, and guess what he's
- 11:20Speaker 10: running a country like that. He makes common sense decisions.
- 11:25Speaker 10: If we're going to send money to the Ukraine to
- 11:28Speaker 10: help them, why not have the mineral rights? Why not
- 11:32Speaker 10: have the oil rights on some of the other countries.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Let's have common sense.
- 11:38Speaker 10: We want our country, the United States of America, to
- 11:41Speaker 10: be number one. Last week criticized Iran for attacking its
- 11:46Speaker 10: neighbors because some of their neighbors are also China's partners.
- 11:49Speaker 10: But what President Trump as a businessman has done is
- 11:53Speaker 10: unify the Arab world, unify Europe. Finally, no major wars
- 11:59Speaker 10: in the future. Let's have common sense and have common
- 12:03Speaker 10: sense prevail. I'm John Katsimatitis and that's.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Your Cats Quota joined John Katzimatitis on Kats and Cosmic
- 12:09Speaker 1: weeknights at five and The Cats Roundtable Sunday mornings eight

- 12:23Speaker 2: Mike Gllagher tries to keep it civil.
- 12:26Speaker 12: Is this battle about Israel? And that's what it seems
- 12:29Speaker 12: to be about, representative of what's going on within the
- 12:32Speaker 12: Republican Party sort of writ large. That's another tricky part
- 12:36Speaker 12: of this. I don't know the answer to that. I
- 12:40Speaker 12: would like to think that every one of these podcasters
- 12:43Speaker 12: who are currently at war with each other are on
- 12:46Speaker 12: the same team.
- 12:47Speaker 13: The Mike Gallagher Show weekdays at ten on AM nine

- 13:00Speaker 13: dot Com from New York. It's Radio Night Life with
- 13:09Speaker 13: Kevin McCullough.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Well the back, it's Radio night Live. It's our fifth anniversary.
- 13:15Speaker 2: We have been doing this for five years. And Christine,
- 13:18Speaker 2: what we didn't mention in the first segment is the
- 13:21Speaker 2: week that we launched, there were there were five co
- 13:24Speaker 2: hosts with me, a different one each night, and you
- 13:27Speaker 2: are the only surviving original cost I don't know what
- 13:31Speaker 2: that means about me, but man, I am so glad
- 13:34Speaker 2: that you've endured the storm of whatever was Well Arthur
- 13:37Speaker 2: left us and got his own show.
- 13:39Speaker 6: It's like, you know, there you go, and now he
- 13:41Speaker 6: gets such a good rating. He bleeds into us.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Right, Well, he's a good he's a good lead in
- 13:46Speaker 2: why don't you have your own show? Christian stop it,
- 13:48Speaker 2: Tom Harris because she needs one more thing to.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Do, trouble Maker, because she needs one more.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Thing to do like she does it's not enough being
- 13:55Speaker 2: the first lady of New York.
- 13:56Speaker 6: By the way, I think the gentleman to my left
- 13:58Speaker 6: would have something to say about them if I get
- 14:00Speaker 6: my own show. George Lentz, who is my partner at
- 14:03Speaker 6: My Wonderful in the Nicholas and Lenz.
- 14:06Speaker 2: A man behind the mission.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I couldn't do this without George and without ab because
- 14:11Speaker 6: they are the ones that keep this, you know, this
- 14:13Speaker 6: little mom.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And pop soda pop shop.
- 14:15Speaker 6: That we've got this PR shop going while I'm.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Off with you, the premiere PR shop in North America.
- 14:21Speaker 2: But yes, it's well.
- 14:22Speaker 14: When Christine told me she was going to do it,
- 14:24Speaker 14: I figured I'll.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Give it two or three weeks.
- 14:29Speaker 6: Thanks George, here we are five years.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I think she told me George when she first started.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I think she was like, this is a lot of work.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I don't know if that we're gonna be able to
- 14:37Speaker 2: see this thing through. And like five years later and
- 14:40Speaker 2: she's she's running the whole show. Well, you know, the
- 14:43Speaker 2: pay is great. She really does enjoy it. Yeah, thank you.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Thank Jerry Crowley for that one.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Well, okay. Nelson Braff has also entered the mix, and Nelson,
- 14:52Speaker 2: you were our first remote. We took the show on
- 14:56Speaker 2: the road for the first time to hunt and Fish,
- 14:58Speaker 2: and you brought us goodies tonight. We looking at here
- 15:00Speaker 2: so well.
- 15:01Speaker 14: Before we get to that, first of all, congratulations.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Thank you. It's a real.
- 15:05Speaker 14: Pleasure to be here. Secondly, author was in my restaurant
- 15:08Speaker 14: last night and we were talking about you guys. Looks
- 15:11Speaker 14: as much of you guys as I did. So all right,
- 15:14Speaker 14: well we brought it. Now I've brought in are the
- 15:18Speaker 14: good ones to popovers, which are essentially our bread basket.
- 15:22Speaker 2: If you've never had these in Hunting Fish, you have
- 15:24Speaker 2: missed life.
- 15:25Speaker 14: They are so good. I also brought in the seafood
- 15:28Speaker 14: salad and one of our signature dishes, burnt lemon chicken.
- 15:33Speaker 6: It's something I would make because I would burn it.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Whether it is it's supposed to be versed, we do
- 15:37Speaker 2: it on purpose.
- 15:39Speaker 6: One thing I don't.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I'm having my popover.
- 15:43Speaker 6: You have these amazing Oh gosh, it's not hysterarius.
- 15:47Speaker 2: What are the little things Russells brou Oh my god,
- 15:50Speaker 2: they're so good. Sprouts with can get them? Would you please?
- 15:55Speaker 14: Without bacon for the vegetarian. Yes, really good as.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Well Friday during Lens.
- 15:59Speaker 14: So we're I'm not just saying that, and I'm not biased.
- 16:02Speaker 14: I'm giving an honest appraisal.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Well before before Christina and I were doing this show,
- 16:06Speaker 2: I was doing the five PM Show and we did
- 16:08Speaker 2: some food oriented shows at that time, and you had
- 16:10Speaker 2: me into or three times on that and Nelson has
- 16:13Speaker 2: always been such a pleasure. You have a big heart,
- 16:15Speaker 2: you care about a lot of important causes, and you've
- 16:19Speaker 2: you've involved yourself in a lot of important things. But personally,
- 16:23Speaker 2: a couple of years ago at Thanksgiving, we needed a
- 16:26Speaker 2: place for the family to go because we were going
- 16:28Speaker 2: to go ice skating on that day. And last minute,
- 16:30Speaker 2: this guy goes, okay, bring them in. What we'll just
- 16:33Speaker 2: find a spot. We'll make sure and your people treated
- 16:36Speaker 2: my kids like they were like like we walked on
- 16:38Speaker 2: water and we didn't deserve it. But I would I
- 16:41Speaker 2: would say cutting fish if you're in the Times Square area.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I know Tom can't pick favorites because he has to be,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you know, equal to all of his babies, all of
- 16:49Speaker 2: his kids.
- 16:49Speaker 6: He has another restaurant here on tap, so we got
- 16:52Speaker 6: to be careful, but.
- 16:52Speaker 15: I got it.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I gotta tell you one of my favorites by far
- 16:55Speaker 2: is hunting fish. And you've always done such a good job.
- 16:57Speaker 14: Thank you so much, and you're always welcome you and
- 17:00Speaker 14: your family.
- 17:00Speaker 3: They're at the lights.
- 17:02Speaker 6: How's the entertainment space downstairs?
- 17:04Speaker 9: Going?
- 17:04Speaker 14: Also funny, it's doing well. We started we're starting our
- 17:08Speaker 14: new season tomorrow night. I was about to say, you've
- 17:10Speaker 14: got tomorrow night with a show, and it was seld out,
- 17:12Speaker 14: so I don't even have to promote it. Okay, I
- 17:15Speaker 14: hope I'm going to come in. I hope there's a
- 17:16Speaker 14: spot for me to watch. I think they'll find a
- 17:19Speaker 14: way for you to stand in the back somewhere somewhere, right.
- 17:23Speaker 14: And we have a couple of more shows coming up,
- 17:25Speaker 14: include a Barber Schreisand show, which is amazing. It's a
- 17:30Speaker 14: male a female impersonator Barbara Streisando's performed before and I said,
- 17:34Speaker 14: you got to come back. He's that good. We have
- 17:36Speaker 14: a couple of shows in a probably you can go
- 17:38Speaker 14: to HFC NYC dot com slash Experiences because it is
- 17:42Speaker 14: an experience. We have dueling pianos coming up. See the
- 17:46Speaker 14: events based downstairs is great and I've started using it
- 17:49Speaker 14: for some charitable ventures as well to do cabaret themes
- 17:53Speaker 14: to raise money.
- 17:54Speaker 2: The thing that starts tomorrow night. The theme of that is
- 17:57Speaker 2: because I just saw her ad on Instagram yesterday.
- 18:00Speaker 14: Yeah, it's a created like love story kind of thing.
- 18:05Speaker 14: A male and female singer that created their own cabaret.
- 18:08Speaker 14: They wrote a show with their own music, and it's
- 18:11Speaker 14: a not love story the right, right, a love story
- 18:15Speaker 14: theme that they created their own show and their own music.
- 18:18Speaker 14: They did it as a trial maybe a year ago
- 18:21Speaker 14: or so, and now they've refined it and now it's
- 18:24Speaker 14: actually being done to the public.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and excellent.
- 18:27Speaker 14: We're looking forward to it and I love saying that
- 18:29Speaker 14: it's selld out.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that was great, Fiords, Yeah, that's great.
- 18:34Speaker 6: Nelson is kind of you know, he's being modest. But
- 18:37Speaker 6: the last time I was in Hunt and Fish, he's
- 18:41Speaker 6: schmoozing at the bar with a very tall, handsome gentleman
- 18:44Speaker 6: and I'm like, that guy looks familiar and he's like, hey,
- 18:47Speaker 6: meet my friend Darryl as in Darryl Strawberry, of course.
- 18:51Speaker 6: And he was so he was so delightful. He was
- 18:53Speaker 6: very nice.
- 18:54Speaker 2: He's in there a lot because I think one of
- 18:55Speaker 2: our remote nights he stopped in.
- 18:57Speaker 14: Well, yeah, he's he's around freak. He's a very dear
- 19:01Speaker 14: friend and he's in a lot.
- 19:03Speaker 2: He's a good guy.
- 19:03Speaker 14: He was in last night as well.
- 19:05Speaker 6: After Now did he go to the home opener of
- 19:07Speaker 6: the Mets? And is yes, you did, so did I That.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Was a blowout.
- 19:11Speaker 14: He was doing something with Susie Johnson, Davey Johnson's witter, right,
- 19:15Speaker 14: And I think he presented the flag to their veteran
- 19:18Speaker 14: of the day, one hundred year old World War Two
- 19:21Speaker 14: veteran beauty gentleman. So yeah, he's very active with the
- 19:25Speaker 14: Mets now, he's very close with the ownership and yeah.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I'm glad that they won so handily. But
- 19:31Speaker 6: I have to tell you Kevin and friends here, it
- 19:33Speaker 6: was a little uncomfortable because Josh and I went yesterday,
- 19:36Speaker 6: but we went as guests of Paul Skeens from the
- 19:40Speaker 6: Pittsburgh Pirates, you know, the famous Cy Young Award pitcher.
- 19:43Speaker 6: And the reason for that is because Paul Skeens is
- 19:47Speaker 6: an ambassador for the Gary Sineese Foundation, which we worked
- 19:50Speaker 6: very closely with, and every time he has a strikeout,
- 19:53Speaker 6: he commits one hundred dollars to Gary Sinees Foundation. Last
- 19:57Speaker 6: year he did it and he was able to contribute
- 19:59Speaker 6: one hundred thousand dollars. This year he's committed to one
- 20:02Speaker 6: hundred and fifty thousand dollars. But anyway, so the first inning,
- 20:06Speaker 6: you know, the Pittsburgh Pirates are up. They give him
- 20:09Speaker 6: a two run lead, right, So everybody can relax. The
- 20:12Speaker 6: family is there, Livy Dunn is there. We're sitting with
- 20:16Speaker 6: all the Pirates family and we can sort of exhale.
- 20:19Speaker 6: We're like, all right, this is going to be easy.
- 20:20Speaker 6: Oh my gosh. The Mets came out like a tour
- 20:23Speaker 6: de force, like that's out of hell. They just like
- 20:25Speaker 6: it was the first thing. Once he hit forty pitches,
- 20:27Speaker 6: they had to retire him, and it was very sad
- 20:31Speaker 6: situation for us. And I'm like, you know, Josh, maybe
- 20:34Speaker 6: we should go to the Maybe we should.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Go to the club area so we.
- 20:37Speaker 6: Can like root for the Mets.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I think what threw him off was the guy singing
- 20:40Speaker 2: the national anthem because.
- 20:41Speaker 6: I heard that, well, oh no, it was it was
- 20:45Speaker 6: he was from Hamilton, right, but I heard that.
- 20:47Speaker 2: He'd like there was a big story about it in
- 20:50Speaker 2: the paper.
- 20:50Speaker 6: Yeah, he kind of.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Got some of the words wrong. Yeah, yeah, it was.
- 20:53Speaker 6: It happened.
- 20:53Speaker 16: Got most of them right. But I got a good peo. Plus,
- 20:59Speaker 16: you do know that you're a new and well, I'm.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Rooting for Tracy Knipprin would have it no other way.
- 21:07Speaker 6: He's just walked into our studio. He's our number one
- 21:09Speaker 6: Mets fan. But yes, I was rooting for the Mets.
- 21:12Speaker 6: But when you're a guest of Paul Skins and his family,
- 21:15Speaker 6: you know I'm not wearing the Mets regalia. Tracy sends
- 21:18Speaker 6: me a text he's having a ball he and Drew.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I can't imagine that. I can't imagine putting it a uniform.
- 21:25Speaker 6: Yeah, hey, look, I really wish him the best of success,
- 21:30Speaker 6: as long as it's not against Mets. He's also playing
- 21:32Speaker 6: against the Yike's Paul Skins on July two.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Well, what he's doing is incredible. Yes, So regardless of
- 21:37Speaker 2: the New York success against it or not, good good
- 21:40Speaker 2: on him for what he's doing. We're gonna take another break.
- 21:43Speaker 2: It is our five year anniversary for Fun Friday of
- 21:45Speaker 2: Radio Night Live, and just a little trivia point, we
- 21:48Speaker 2: invited everyone of the four hundred plus guests that we've
- 21:52Speaker 2: had over the five years to join us tonight. How
- 21:55Speaker 2: many will show up, we don't know, but that's how
- 21:57Speaker 2: many that we've that.
- 21:58Speaker 6: We've had our studio.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Is I'm that big? Well, I'm a right.

- 24:10Speaker 4: Hi, It's Arthur Idalla. Are you charity minded? Why not
- 24:13Speaker 4: consider the charities and causes that you care about most
- 24:17Speaker 4: and create a plan that fulfills your wishes after you
- 24:20Speaker 4: are gone.
- 24:21Speaker 3: This can be done in two ways.
- 24:22Speaker 4: One is to establish your philanthropy plan so it serves
- 24:26Speaker 4: your interests and protects your assets. The second is the
- 24:29Speaker 4: thing about how you can include your favorite organizations and
- 24:32Speaker 4: your will and trust. The lawyers at Connors and Sullivan
- 24:35Speaker 4: can help you create a philanthropic plan wills and trusts

- 24:43Speaker 4: likes thinking about wills and trusts, not even me, But

- 25:14Speaker 17: Israel a hot topic right now. Hi, It's Chris Stigaul.
- 25:17Speaker 17: You know so many opinions around israel emotions. I can
- 25:20Speaker 17: understand why it feels hard to know where to start.
- 25:23Speaker 17: I like to start with the Bible. Scripture tells us
- 25:26Speaker 17: I will bless those who bless you, and that's not
- 25:28Speaker 17: just a comforting promise, it's a clear calling from God.
- 25:31Speaker 17: So today, with anti Semitism on the rise, that calling
- 25:34Speaker 17: is more urgent than ever. At a time when Jewish
- 25:37Speaker 17: communities are experiencing more hostility, more threats, and more violence
- 25:40Speaker 17: than ever, Christians have a powerful opportunity to respond with
- 25:44Speaker 17: God's love to say you're not alone. When Christians choose
- 25:48Speaker 17: to bless Israel, we're not entering into some political issue.
- 25:51Speaker 17: We're honoring the root of our faith and standing against hatred.
- 25:55Speaker 17: Supporting Israel is more than a belief, it's a biblical mandate.
- 25:59Speaker 17: And by partnering with the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,
- 26:02Speaker 17: you can push back against the darkness and be a
- 26:04Speaker 17: light to God's people. Learn how you can bless Israel

- 26:13Speaker 13: Host, tell him like it is so safe space is here.
- 26:16Speaker 13: Am nine seventy the answer. Now, I'm from New York.
- 26:26Speaker 13: Back to Radio Night Life. You're sir Kevin mccollo.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Welcome back. It's Radio Night Live. It's the fifth anniversary special.
- 26:33Speaker 2: We are thank you, Arthur Idila for giving us your hour.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Didn't mean to punch in the elbow there, Christine.
- 26:39Speaker 6: Hi, I got a lawyer. I know you know I'm Aloya.
- 26:43Speaker 2: But it is really exciting. And as I said, we
- 26:45Speaker 2: were going to the break. We've invited four hundred people
- 26:49Speaker 2: to show up and we don't know how many will.
- 26:51Speaker 2: But you know who always shows up besides Tom Harris
- 26:53Speaker 2: at twenty five times a visit on our show. He
- 26:57Speaker 2: likes to be called or I don't know if he
- 26:59Speaker 2: likes to be called. He's been called the Fork. You
- 27:01Speaker 2: were just I think, kind of degrading his team or
- 27:05Speaker 2: talking about we're talking about something.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Mac about the Mets or the Mutts or whatever they're called.
- 27:11Speaker 6: They won handily yesterday, by the way, they won more
- 27:14Speaker 6: than the Yankees. One of course on the road. We'll
- 27:16Speaker 6: see what the Yankees do on front.
- 27:17Speaker 2: But also a food expert in his own right, the
- 27:21Speaker 2: restaurant tour, everything about it. Tracy Neporn, Welcome back. Good
- 27:25Speaker 2: to see you in person. Thank you for being here.
- 27:27Speaker 2: It is so exciting to be here on this incredible occasion.
- 27:31Speaker 6: Well, thank Youzy. I know, while we're talking about numbers,
- 27:35Speaker 6: you know, Tracy is known as the Fork because he
- 27:37Speaker 6: has gone to Mets Fantasy Camp or whatever.
- 27:40Speaker 2: They called me the Fork, they called you the Fork.
- 27:43Speaker 6: But you know we're gonna call you tonight.
- 27:46Speaker 2: MVP. Who We're gonna put an end. Yeah, now, now,
- 27:52Speaker 2: Tracy Neporn has been appropriately flavor flaves understated too.
- 27:55Speaker 6: There you go, Yeah, we want you to wear it
- 27:57Speaker 6: around the city.
- 28:00Speaker 2: But Tracy, you've come on our show seventeen times and
- 28:04Speaker 2: you've put up with Marty Appel half of it, at
- 28:06Speaker 2: least more than half of those times. And you put
- 28:08Speaker 2: up with me and Christine, and thank you for just
- 28:11Speaker 2: keep coming back every time we invite you.
- 28:13Speaker 18: I have.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I'm a Met fan, so I'm used to you're used to.
- 28:17Speaker 2: You know that makes good marriage material. You know you
- 28:20Speaker 2: want to find a good guy. Make him be a
- 28:22Speaker 2: Met fan or a cowboy fan, because neither one of
- 28:24Speaker 2: them have seen the postseason In year my fiftieth anniversary.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Oh, Amy's in the house.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Yay Amy.
- 28:31Speaker 2: You know she she's seen it all.
- 28:33Speaker 6: I think, you know, I think there must be something
- 28:35Speaker 6: about the wife named Amy, because you're better half.
- 28:39Speaker 19: It is.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Also, I've always noted Tracy for his excellence and taste
- 28:43Speaker 2: because he picked a great woman.
- 28:45Speaker 6: And now are you going to sing Amy from like? Yeah,
- 28:48Speaker 6: actually maybe or a pure Prairie league what you want
- 28:52Speaker 6: to do?
- 28:53Speaker 2: Actually, my Amy doesn't like the Sinatra?
- 28:56Speaker 6: What's the Sinatra one?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Waite?
- 28:59Speaker 6: You're a Prairie League?
- 29:00Speaker 2: Right, Well, it's not complimentary whatever it is. I don't
- 29:03Speaker 2: sing that song of main there's Once in Love with
- 29:04Speaker 2: Amy always. Yeah, that's it. That's that's a bad song.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Amy is not a good person in that song.
- 29:10Speaker 6: But you're both you both scored the jack pop your Amy's.
- 29:14Speaker 6: I have to say, yes.
- 29:15Speaker 2: We know how to OutKick our covering.
- 29:16Speaker 6: You really do you know? Like that is? And I
- 29:18Speaker 6: got to say they're both gorgeous, so you know what?
- 29:22Speaker 6: And here I am with these two lovelies between yah.
- 29:26Speaker 6: I know, but my Nick Nicholas, he is he would
- 29:30Speaker 6: have been here, my apologies, but we have kids that
- 29:34Speaker 6: are in lacrosse and my daughter's playing a lacrosse game tonight,
- 29:38Speaker 6: so he needed to go do what he has to do.
- 29:40Speaker 6: And then of course Saint John's is playing. Well, you know,
- 29:43Speaker 6: they're starting to tee up right now, so he didn't
- 29:45Speaker 6: want to miss Saint John's versus Duke. Sorry, Carrie, but
- 29:48Speaker 6: we're going with the home team tonight. I just lost
- 29:52Speaker 6: my best friend. Who's the kids went to do?
- 29:55Speaker 2: Wait, Carrie's a Duke fan.
- 29:56Speaker 6: Well, her son went to do I.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Always liked that girl.
- 29:58Speaker 6: Oh my god.
- 29:59Speaker 2: So man, he's the greatest coach in sports ever.
- 30:03Speaker 6: Well, now you have Riflcino, it's gonna be Beatino.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah you know, yeah, okay, there's no comparison Krzyzewski. You
- 30:10Speaker 2: know what I like about him, and you'll appreciate this.
- 30:13Speaker 2: He always gave credit to his players when they did well,
- 30:16Speaker 2: and when they lost, he always took the blame.
- 30:17Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a sign of a coach. I can't spell
- 30:20Speaker 2: his name and I have trouble I could even pronounce
- 30:22Speaker 2: it for both great. Yeah, he's great.
- 30:24Speaker 9: He you know.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I wish he had a connection to the Mets. Yeah,
- 30:28Speaker 2: he does in terms of character, though not in record.
- 30:33Speaker 6: You know, speaking of characters, we have someone else who
- 30:37Speaker 6: just walked into our studio. Oh my gosh. Scott Barbarino
- 30:41Speaker 6: from ellen Starta's diner.
- 30:43Speaker 15: We don't know what's going on out there. I had
- 30:45Speaker 15: to fight my wa You.
- 30:46Speaker 6: Get a crowd, O the crowd outside outside the studio, Well,
- 30:49Speaker 6: it sounds like they're having such a good time out there,
- 30:51Speaker 6: probably because of the food that you brought. So tell
- 30:54Speaker 6: us a little bit about what you brought from ellen
- 30:56Speaker 6: starta Steiner and we don't have to wait online?
- 30:58Speaker 2: How do I have always ill?
- 31:01Speaker 15: I can send you one of these. We have plenty
- 31:02Speaker 15: of merch over. That's a one of our specialties there.
- 31:07Speaker 15: It's the mac and cheese bites and yeah, we sell
- 31:12Speaker 15: a lot of those. And I brought you some chicken
- 31:14Speaker 15: fingers too, and we have we have a pretty diverse menu,
- 31:16Speaker 15: but it's we have salads and things like that. But
- 31:19Speaker 15: you know, we're a diner and we have Dina food
- 31:21Speaker 15: in there.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Well, if you can't have a good diner in New
- 31:24Speaker 2: York burg is.
- 31:25Speaker 15: In a shake is a good way to go.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Well, the shakes are what you're famous for. Yeah, and
- 31:30Speaker 2: there's always something current with whatever's going on. What's the current.
- 31:33Speaker 15: Everybod Well, we're just getting out of the one that
- 31:36Speaker 15: we had for Saint Patrick's Day, and there was a
- 31:38Speaker 15: gold coin and a shamrock and they're green. I mean,
- 31:43Speaker 15: every month we have a we have a wonderful h
- 31:46Speaker 15: manager over there that puts together our shake of the month.
- 31:49Speaker 15: And April I saw it actually already. It's for Eastern
- 31:52Speaker 15: and it has one of those washmallow bunnies. You know, PEPs,
- 31:57Speaker 15: you're gonna make a beeps shake. Pep's in there, and
- 31:59Speaker 15: oh yeah, it's great. And every month she comes up
- 32:01Speaker 15: with a new one. The crowds love the shakes.
- 32:04Speaker 6: Well, we absolutely love ellen Hart shakes.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Are the singing better. You know, now a lot of quass.
- 32:12Speaker 15: You can get a shake right.
- 32:14Speaker 6: So there's only one Ellen.

- 36:49Speaker 2: is the fifth anniversary of Radio Night Lives Fun Friday.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Which of all the things, Christine, that we could be
- 36:56Speaker 2: excited about tonight, you know, I could tell my kids, Hey,
- 37:00Speaker 2: we had we had you know, four all star chefs
- 37:03Speaker 2: and three athletes and two politicians everything else. When I
- 37:06Speaker 2: take this cookie home and they see my face on
- 37:08Speaker 2: a cookie, they're gonna be like, cool, that's cool. I
- 37:11Speaker 2: didn't did, not gonna care about the rest of it,
- 37:13Speaker 2: but the face on the cookie, that's a big deal. Anyway,
- 37:15Speaker 2: we're speaking with the Scott Barbarino of ellen Stardsteiner, who
- 37:19Speaker 2: brought some of our food tonight. Incredible. I did the
- 37:22Speaker 2: mac and cheese. This is deep fried, right, it's everything. Yeah,
- 37:27Speaker 2: but my doctor did not hear you say.
- 37:29Speaker 6: That they had a great salads. You have an amazing
- 37:32Speaker 6: cob salad.
- 37:33Speaker 2: It's awesome. And you don't deep fry your shakes, let's
- 37:35Speaker 2: be very clear. Not everything. Yet they do, they do well. Anyway,
- 37:41Speaker 2: you were we were win to break and you were
- 37:43Speaker 2: talking about this Mama Mia.
- 37:46Speaker 6: Mama Mia Brunch is going to be celebrating one year
- 37:50Speaker 6: on Mother's Day. I don't know is it even sold.
- 37:53Speaker 6: It might be sold out by now. Okay, so folks,
- 37:55Speaker 6: if you want to do something fun, and by the way,
- 37:58Speaker 6: Darren Chris took his mind when we opened it up.
- 38:02Speaker 2: You were there, Yeah, well, what's more fun than Mama
- 38:04Speaker 2: and me on Mother's it's amazing.
- 38:05Speaker 15: It's incredible, the power of Mama Mia. And the show
- 38:08Speaker 15: just closed next door to us, and we had lines
- 38:11Speaker 15: when they had lines, and we still got lines.
- 38:14Speaker 6: What's selling the lines? So let's talk about the lines.
- 38:19Speaker 6: How do you get around the lines? If you're a
- 38:21Speaker 6: New Yorker and you want to go, come.
- 38:23Speaker 15: On, I don't know much about being a New Yorker.
- 38:27Speaker 15: Oh stop it, but you know if you approach me
- 38:30Speaker 15: and I'm around there. But hours, they're sure, hours, yes,
- 38:35Speaker 15: of course, And it's really depends on the season. Also,
- 38:40Speaker 15: like during the holiday season, it's busy, yes, and you know,
- 38:43Speaker 15: the whole area is busy during the days. You know,
- 38:47Speaker 15: between two and four it's usually a good time. But
- 38:51Speaker 15: even we open it. We're open from seven in the
- 38:53Speaker 15: morning until midnight, and we have lines outside sometimes at
- 38:57Speaker 15: seven o'clock in the morning and they sing all day,
- 39:00Speaker 15: yes they do. At seven am, they're ready, and we
- 39:03Speaker 15: have lines all day. But that's a good spot. Two
- 39:05Speaker 15: to four is usually a nice time to try and
- 39:08Speaker 15: stop by, and the hosts are right there. We take
- 39:11Speaker 15: care of anybody that needs a little help, coming in,
- 39:13Speaker 15: any any assistance. So if there's somebody in there old
- 39:17Speaker 15: or in your group, We'll bring a chair out and
- 39:19Speaker 15: give them a seat and help them through get into
- 39:21Speaker 15: their So the line should never turn you off.
- 39:24Speaker 6: Right now, I have never been there at seven am?
- 39:26Speaker 6: Is it a little bit calmer?
- 39:28Speaker 20: Like?
- 39:28Speaker 6: Do they sing sort of like love songs?
- 39:30Speaker 15: There are morning songs.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Morning they're am song okay okay.
- 39:34Speaker 15: And my team there is trained to look at who's
- 39:39Speaker 15: sitting in the room because that changes depending on the
- 39:42Speaker 15: time of the day and all kinds of things are
- 39:44Speaker 15: you know, variables, and to sing to who's in the.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Room right, So what is the what's the average songbook
- 39:51Speaker 2: that your guys keep current? How many how many numbers
- 39:54Speaker 2: in the songbook on any given point in the year.
- 39:57Speaker 15: Well, most of them have either been in Broadway show
- 40:00Speaker 15: are out on tours and our performers so they have
- 40:05Speaker 15: their own resent amount so materia that they can bring
- 40:08Speaker 15: to this to us and all different types. And I
- 40:11Speaker 15: like to say that we don't just do Broadway shows,
- 40:13Speaker 15: though Broadway show tunes are definitely a heavy part of
- 40:16Speaker 15: what the crowd if we do. Do you want to
- 40:19Speaker 15: hear you know, do you want to hear a show tune?
- 40:21Speaker 15: We hear it from the crowd. Yes, but we also
- 40:23Speaker 15: do oldies, which are in mine with the fact that
- 40:26Speaker 15: Ellen is miss Subways nineteen fifty nine, and we celebrate
- 40:31Speaker 15: the all of the fifties and sixties, and we do
- 40:35Speaker 15: pop stuff too and things that people are you know,
- 40:37Speaker 15: like you know, Sabrina Carpenter and things like that. We've
- 40:39Speaker 15: been giving the crowd a nice mix.
- 40:41Speaker 2: You got a good got a good dose of Taylor
- 40:43Speaker 2: Swift in there because my Ris, we do Yeah, okay,
- 40:46Speaker 2: very important. He's sick, he said, was such a song?
- 40:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we have that one's crazy.
- 40:51Speaker 6: Have you been to Ellen Sardis Diner? I come on
- 40:54Speaker 6: there a long term, Mike.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Mike, Mike, I was there a long time ago. You
- 40:57Speaker 2: got to get back.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 2: You give them a lot of credit for being around
- 41:01Speaker 2: for so many Were you competing in nineteen fifty nine
- 41:03Speaker 2: with Ellen? Were you mister Subway X years old?
- 41:06Speaker 20: That?
- 41:06Speaker 6: So?
- 41:06Speaker 2: I don't think I was doing a wold Yeah.
- 41:07Speaker 9: What.
- 41:07Speaker 6: There's someone that just came into our studio who has
- 41:10Speaker 6: been to Ellen Stardusteiner recently when we had a bit
- 41:14Speaker 6: of a party for the Mom and Mia group, and
- 41:16Speaker 6: that is Zachary Taylor.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Zachary Stewart.
- 41:20Speaker 20: Yeah, that's our twelfth president who died of.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Cherry's and sour milk. Oh my gosh, not only Broadway
- 41:27Speaker 2: fishing out. I thought American history is.
- 41:29Speaker 6: Wearing cherry color.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we thought. And Zach's not a newbie. He's been
- 41:36Speaker 2: with us four times. This is fifth appearance on this
- 41:39Speaker 2: show that you have him at the Broadway Association. What
- 41:42Speaker 2: happened here?
- 41:42Speaker 6: I don't.
- 41:43Speaker 20: She's a patriotic American and she's thinking of our commanders
- 41:46Speaker 20: in chief, not the old fuss and feathers, right, always
- 41:50Speaker 20: a fun fal Wait, you know.
- 41:52Speaker 6: You know a bit about this gentleman, this former president.
- 41:54Speaker 6: I guess because it may not be the.
- 41:56Speaker 2: First time they see, say, yeah it is it?
- 41:58Speaker 6: Really? Is that what your parents named? You know? I
- 42:00Speaker 6: don't think so, Zachary, though it's a bit of a
- 42:02Speaker 6: different name.
- 42:03Speaker 2: So who were you named for? You know, I don't
- 42:06Speaker 2: really know.
- 42:07Speaker 20: But my sister's name is Cassie, and if you know Broadway,
- 42:10Speaker 20: these are the two main characters in a chorus line.
- 42:13Speaker 20: So I always tell people that my parents are gay.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Which biologically doesn't make sense. But okay, it could it
- 42:20Speaker 2: could work out.
- 42:21Speaker 6: Okay, so Zachary Stewart is joining us.
- 42:24Speaker 2: You were with us when.
- 42:25Speaker 6: We were celebrating Mama Mia for a bit of a
- 42:27Speaker 6: press event. What'd you think I mean? Okay, no pressure here.
- 42:32Speaker 6: We've got ellen Startist diner in the room. But it's
- 42:34Speaker 6: a lot of fun, right.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Oh, it's so much fun.
- 42:36Speaker 20: You know. I went to Ellen's my very first trip
- 42:38Speaker 20: to New York City when I was seventeen years old,
- 42:41Speaker 20: and I was just enchanted by the whole thing.
- 42:43Speaker 2: And you know, it's right there in Times Square. So
- 42:44Speaker 2: I imagine a lot of.
- 42:45Speaker 20: People have that experience where they think this is what
- 42:48Speaker 20: diners are like all the.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Time in New York. Scott was probably you probably were.
- 42:54Speaker 2: We know, Ellen was there, Allen. I've got musical friends
- 42:58Speaker 2: that come in from Ireland and play handful of dates
- 43:00Speaker 2: in the States each year, and their kids' favorite stop
- 43:03Speaker 2: on the tour is New York so that they can
- 43:05Speaker 2: all go to Ellen's. They do the brunch on you know, Sunday,
- 43:09Speaker 2: and they they live it up.
- 43:10Speaker 15: Yeah. And just to be clear, so there's the main
- 43:13Speaker 15: floor and the mezzanine area. That's where our singing wait
- 43:16Speaker 15: Steff is going from seven in the morning to midnight,
- 43:19Speaker 15: and every day of the week and the mom and
- 43:21Speaker 15: me of brunch is happening downstairs in the Ellens. Startus
- 43:25Speaker 15: down in the theater, right, which is a very famous space.
- 43:30Speaker 15: It's been down there for a long time. It's also
- 43:32Speaker 15: we share it with the Iridium is down there as well,
- 43:35Speaker 15: and we had a lot of productions that went through
- 43:38Speaker 15: there over the years. So yeah, and that's what we
- 43:41Speaker 15: do our Sunday Brunch.
- 43:42Speaker 6: It's fantastic and at any given time when you're there,
- 43:44Speaker 6: you can not only hear Broadway. I mean these singers,
- 43:49Speaker 6: they're on and off Broadway. And the reasons we have
- 43:51Speaker 6: Zachary here, this is sort of the start of the
- 43:53Speaker 6: new season. We have Mary Davis, the producer of Just
- 43:58Speaker 6: in Time, which we went together on Wednesday, thank you
- 44:02Speaker 6: before it closed. I think tonight it's not closing. It's
- 44:05Speaker 6: not closing, but it's the last night that Jonathan Groff
- 44:07Speaker 6: is going to be there. And also she is the
- 44:10Speaker 6: producer of Giant Zachary, what must we see this Broadway season?
- 44:15Speaker 6: We only have a few seconds left that we want
- 44:17Speaker 6: you to stick.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Around, So actually we'll give you the commercial break to
- 44:21Speaker 2: think about it and come back, because we're celebrating our
- 44:23Speaker 2: fifth anniversary. She's Christine, I'm Kevin, and all four hundred
- 44:27Speaker 2: of our past guests have been invited. You may hear them.

- 48:08Speaker 2: Christine Nicholas coming to you from a secret location with
- 48:11Speaker 2: all of our friends. Literally we invited four hundred past
- 48:15Speaker 2: guests over the last five years to show up, and
- 48:18Speaker 2: you know a lot of them did christ What.
- 48:20Speaker 6: Was our four hundred guests? Our repeat guts like Tracy
- 48:23Speaker 6: Nipprin who's been on for.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Se well, he took seventeen of those spots.
- 48:26Speaker 6: And Tom Harris was being a bit.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Of a hog there, him and him and t Square.
- 48:30Speaker 6: Like Peter Madonia, who you know has been on but
- 48:33Speaker 6: we have tonight, Zachary Stewart who's only.
- 48:35Speaker 21: Been with two times.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Five times can be five times?
- 48:38Speaker 6: You little newbie, you know, gone like you're like the
- 48:40Speaker 6: new kid on.
- 48:41Speaker 2: The blot, Like, well, that's our fault. I don't know
- 48:43Speaker 2: you will eventually, Yeah, but you got it.
- 48:44Speaker 6: Could we get a jacket as nice as the jacket eye?
- 48:47Speaker 2: I know that's why we don't. We can't offer him
- 48:49Speaker 2: because you probably wouldn't wear it.
- 48:51Speaker 6: So get Let's get to the point about Broadway and
- 48:55Speaker 6: what must we see the season? Zachary from Theoremania clock
- 49:00Speaker 6: Sticks does the clock is sticking three minutes?
- 49:03Speaker 20: Well, you just mentioned Giant, which I saw last Friday,
- 49:06Speaker 20: and it's an excellent drama. John Lithgow seems to physically
- 49:10Speaker 20: transform inter Roll Doll and it's this very complex drama
- 49:15Speaker 20: about yes, anti Semitism, but also someone you know who
- 49:19Speaker 20: feels like he's been betrayed, that his best of intentions
- 49:23Speaker 20: and that his you know, deeply held beliefs have been
- 49:25Speaker 20: held against him and he's been called a bigot, which
- 49:27Speaker 20: I think having lived through a tiny cultural revolution in
- 49:30Speaker 20: the last decade, we can all kind of relate with,
- 49:33Speaker 20: I think in the audience.
- 49:34Speaker 2: So it's very smart drama. It's beautifully acted.
- 49:37Speaker 20: Highly recommend seeing that one off Broadway. I just saw
- 49:41Speaker 20: a revival of Titus Andronicus, which is this gory early
- 49:45Speaker 20: Shakespeare play that I think he wrote to get attention
- 49:48Speaker 20: and grab the Elizabethan audience's Bloodlust and so you know
- 49:53Speaker 20: it features dismemberment and murder and.
- 49:56Speaker 2: People being baked into pies.
- 50:00Speaker 20: Yeah, now campiest and there's an excellent production happening right now.
- 50:05Speaker 20: Patrick Page is playing the title role. He has this
- 50:08Speaker 20: deep resident voice. He originated role of Hades in Hades Town,
- 50:11Speaker 20: and so he is playing this role and definitely we're
- 50:14Speaker 20: seeing it just for him. A pretty decent production doesn't
- 50:18Speaker 20: really come down on whether it's camp or serious drama.
- 50:21Speaker 20: So it is this bracing feeling of hearing gasps and
- 50:25Speaker 20: guffaws happening at the same time, which I think feels
- 50:28Speaker 20: very true to life living here in early Imperial America.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Well, being baked into a pie makes me appreciate my
- 50:35Speaker 2: face on a cookie in a whole different way.
- 50:38Speaker 6: What about the Daniel Radcliffe One Man's Shell.
- 50:41Speaker 20: Oh, I was at Wednesday matinee of that last week.
- 50:44Speaker 20: He is really putting a lot into it. It almost feels
- 50:46Speaker 20: like a taping of Ellen. You know, he runs through
- 50:49Speaker 20: the audience and tries to connect with almost everyone, and
- 50:52Speaker 20: he's kind of huffing out. He's about my age now,
- 50:54Speaker 20: and so he's kind huffing and puffing when he gets
- 50:55Speaker 20: back on the audience. I believe he used to be
- 50:57Speaker 20: a heavy smoker as well, you can tell. But he's
- 50:59Speaker 20: absolute utely charming.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Well, Hogwarts, you couldn't get cancer, so.
- 51:02Speaker 22: That's right, yeah, but unfortunately in the real life you can. Yes, yeah, no,
- 51:07Speaker 22: it's It is kind of a I would say, inspirational
- 51:11Speaker 22: play about suicide and all of the beautiful things that
- 51:15Speaker 22: live in the world so that you don't commit suicide.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Okay, there we go. But obviously he's the real ticket draw, right.
- 51:21Speaker 20: The draw is that you may have a moment on
- 51:24Speaker 20: because he uses the audience as actors, and so you
- 51:27Speaker 20: have may have a moment where Harry Potter looks keep
- 51:29Speaker 20: into your eyes and tells you that you're special.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Well, the manner outside says something about it being truly
- 51:35Speaker 2: himself or something along those lines. What is the connection
- 51:38Speaker 2: there in terms of the story, Well, it's himself. Well,
- 51:42Speaker 2: it's interesting.
- 51:43Speaker 20: They're actually the script is aggressively gender non neutral. Everybody
- 51:47Speaker 20: is they them in the script, and it could be
- 51:49Speaker 20: played by a man or a woman. So I can
- 51:51Speaker 20: imagine this play actually having like different ageal life in
- 51:55Speaker 20: regional theaters around America where a beloved local actor steps
- 51:59Speaker 20: into this role and does it and then you go
- 52:00Speaker 20: and see it, you know, and it's only one actor,
- 52:02Speaker 20: so it's not that expensive to produce. You very few
- 52:05Speaker 20: props in sadly use the audience.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Okay, Zach, thank you for coming. You will get a
- 52:10Speaker 2: jacket eventually. Thank you for jeming. We got we gotta
- 52:13Speaker 2: take a break. That's the end of our one. It
- 52:15Speaker 2: is the fifth anniversary of Fun Fridays.
- 52:21Speaker 13: From the birthplace of radio's greatest era. Now from New York,
- 52:26Speaker 13: it's Radio Night Live with Kevin McCullough. Unlike anything else
- 52:34Speaker 13: on radio today, it's a front row seat for great
- 52:36Speaker 13: information with today's leading experts. Travel with a third generation
- 52:41Speaker 13: travel icon Linda Perrillo, The Fox News Medical All Stars
- 52:45Speaker 13: featuring doctor Mark Siegel, Doctor Martin McCarey, doctor Jennet Nischwat
- 52:49Speaker 13: the Og doctor Nicole Sapphire, Legal analysis from former prosecutor
- 52:54Speaker 13: and court journalism superstar Imron I'm Sorry, and Christine Nicholas
- 52:58Speaker 13: the Quinn Essential Beat to New York hospitality, all joining
- 53:03Speaker 13: a legendary broadcast prob Kevin McCullough on a mission unlike
- 53:06Speaker 13: any other, United to Bring Back New York No Live
- 53:11Speaker 13: from Studio one eleven eight pears Kevin mcculloughe.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Al right, even though the first hour she gave me
- 53:59Speaker 2: a little bit. Agree for it, Christine, that was made
- 54:01Speaker 2: for you especially. Thank you, so happy anniversary partner. It's
- 54:06Speaker 2: been five years and we have a whole room full
- 54:08Speaker 2: of people that are all here celebrating, and then outside
- 54:11Speaker 2: this room there's a bunch of more people. So anyway,
- 54:14Speaker 2: we got a lot of new guests too, and our
- 54:16Speaker 2: number two, thank you Arthur for giving us our number one.
- 54:19Speaker 2: We've got a council member with us. We've still got
- 54:22Speaker 2: a Broadway critic with us, we've got some restaurant people
- 54:24Speaker 2: with us, and we've got we've just got.
- 54:26Speaker 6: Tons more people to talk to, fun friends because it's
- 54:28Speaker 6: Fun Friday, our fifth anniversary. Any more fs I can
- 54:32Speaker 6: throw in there, I'm not going to do that. This
- 54:34Speaker 6: is a family, get a family show, okay. And speaking
- 54:38Speaker 6: of family, I feel like this next guest is part
- 54:41Speaker 6: of my family because she has been in office for
- 54:43Speaker 6: a very long time and has really made a difference.
- 54:46Speaker 2: I can which cannot always be said about, but she
- 54:49Speaker 2: is the.
- 54:50Speaker 6: Hardest working person in city government. First I remember her
- 54:55Speaker 6: as a council member. I remember her as a community
- 54:57Speaker 6: board leader, a council member, Burrow President of Manhattan, and
- 55:01Speaker 6: now a council member again. I want to welcome Gail Brewer,
- 55:04Speaker 6: who's now with City Council number six on the Upper
- 55:08Speaker 6: West Side. Gail, thank you so much for joining us tonight.
- 55:11Speaker 6: Thank you Quzy Nichols and for your many years. Because
- 55:14Speaker 6: you could say the same thing about all the difference
- 55:17Speaker 6: you have made in our city. And I thank you
- 55:19Speaker 6: not just on Broadway timescare issues, but just generally good governments. Well,
- 55:24Speaker 6: thank you, Gail. Well, we couldn't do good government without you.
- 55:27Speaker 6: But give us an update. You know, we love your district,
- 55:30Speaker 6: which starts around Lincoln Center and goes up. It is
- 55:33Speaker 6: just one of the most picturesque neighborhoods.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Uh.
- 55:37Speaker 6: You know, I lived in your district for a while
- 55:39Speaker 6: when I was going to grad school up at Columbia,
- 55:42Speaker 6: and it's just this like leafy little enclave. It's it's
- 55:45Speaker 6: just beautiful.
- 55:46Speaker 23: So well, we have two parks, which we love. That
- 55:49Speaker 23: makes a big difference. We have many subway lines, we
- 55:52Speaker 23: have zay Bars, we have Fairway. You either zay Bar's
- 55:56Speaker 23: person or Fairway person or Trader Joe's. You don't mix
- 55:59Speaker 23: them up.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Zach Stewart, who's in your district. So he was like,
- 56:02Speaker 2: I love Carol.
- 56:04Speaker 23: I have this ninety second in Amsterdam, so I work
- 56:07Speaker 23: for them. But this morning, for instance, but it's tough today.
- 56:11Speaker 2: I was walking.
- 56:12Speaker 23: I had a breakfast at City Diner at eight o'clock
- 56:15Speaker 23: in the morning, and then I knew I had a
- 56:17Speaker 23: crosstown bus to take. So I walked from ninety second
- 56:20Speaker 23: to sixty eighth Street and I ran into the most
- 56:22Speaker 23: wonderful people.
- 56:23Speaker 2: One gentleman.
- 56:24Speaker 23: His wife just died and I had been at the funeral,
- 56:26Speaker 23: so he you know, we talked about that, and then
- 56:29Speaker 23: the Jewish community is concerned. Oh yeah, And so I
- 56:31Speaker 23: ran into four people who were women friends, who were
- 56:35Speaker 23: almost crying, worried about anti Semitism.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Okay, so you know it was tough times. Well, Gail, that.
- 56:42Speaker 6: For someone who is going to lead us through these
- 56:44Speaker 6: tough times. The Upper West Side is very lucky to
- 56:48Speaker 6: have somebody like you and tell us the latest in
- 56:52Speaker 6: the city council about the speech issue, because I've you know,
- 56:57Speaker 6: to me, it's a no brainer. You should be able
- 56:59Speaker 6: to worship. I don't care if you're Jewish, Catholic, Christian, Muslim.
- 57:03Speaker 6: You should be able to worship in peace. But some
- 57:06Speaker 6: people are taking issue with this.
- 57:08Speaker 23: I mean, to the credit of the speaker, there are
- 57:11Speaker 23: now forty four to five, that's what we call it,
- 57:13Speaker 23: votes for that bill. So that bill is fetle proof, okay,
- 57:16Speaker 23: and so it will pass.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Tell us about this show familiar.
- 57:20Speaker 23: This bill is a bill that states that the police Department,
- 57:25Speaker 23: if there is reason at any as you suggested, house
- 57:30Speaker 23: of worship, be it synagogue, mosque, church, et cetera, temple,
- 57:35Speaker 23: that the police department has the right to decide how
- 57:39Speaker 23: the barricades will work. It's called a frozen zone for
- 57:42Speaker 23: lack of a better word, because the fact of the
- 57:45Speaker 23: matter is that at Parquist on sixty eighth Streets some
- 57:49Speaker 23: months ago, there was a horrible situation where people who
- 57:53Speaker 23: were protesting literally got in the face of and I
- 57:56Speaker 23: think even broke some windows as people were trying to
- 57:58Speaker 23: enter the synagogue that should not happen.
- 58:01Speaker 6: And they were able to hear the chanting which was
- 58:03Speaker 6: incredibly antisemitic while they were trying to worship and have
- 58:06Speaker 6: their meeting. Yeah, you know, I remember when I was
- 58:08Speaker 6: in the Mayor's office, there was always a certain restriction,
- 58:13Speaker 6: you know, it was either three or four blocks, so
- 58:15Speaker 6: that you were able to see them but not hear them,
- 58:18Speaker 6: because it would be it would be disruptive of the meeting.
- 58:21Speaker 6: How did that just go away that we now need
- 58:24Speaker 6: legislation in order to sort of enforce what to me
- 58:27Speaker 6: seems like common sense.
- 58:29Speaker 23: Well, I assume that it was sort of always the
- 58:31Speaker 23: police department's prerogative progative. And I think in that situation,
- 58:36Speaker 23: to the credit of Commissioner Tiss, she apologized, thank goodness,
- 58:40Speaker 23: and so he's a terrific commissioner. But the fact she apologized,
- 58:43Speaker 23: I don't know what wrong on that instance. I think
- 58:46Speaker 23: this bill is codifying what the police have thought they
- 58:49Speaker 23: were supposed to do all these years, and now it
- 58:53Speaker 23: will be codified.
- 58:53Speaker 2: So that's what's important. That's way too late, but thankfully
- 58:56Speaker 2: it's going to happen. Sometimes I feel like Commissioner too
- 59:00Speaker 2: is like the only grown up in Well.
- 59:02Speaker 6: Now we have Julie mannin, and of course we have
- 59:04Speaker 6: Gail Brewer.
- 59:05Speaker 23: What I mean, you have also beings being fool of
- 59:09Speaker 23: hen who was the first deputy mayor. He's my age,
- 59:11Speaker 23: so I love that. And the fact of the matter
- 59:15Speaker 23: is there are some people are new. I met with
- 59:17Speaker 23: some commissioners, so today they are new. They're interested in
- 59:20Speaker 23: trying to be helpful, but you know, they don't have
- 59:23Speaker 23: anything inexperienced. Well, they have a different kind of experience.
- 59:28Speaker 23: I would say that they just don't have the depth,
- 59:33Speaker 23: but they may have other kinds of experience and hopefully
- 59:35Speaker 23: bring something perspective to these unbelievably complicated problems.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Well, let's hope they.
- 59:40Speaker 6: Lean into the experience like you and Julie Mennon and
- 59:43Speaker 6: even Tom Harris from Times Square Alliance, because Tom Harris
- 59:48Speaker 6: has been around many an administration and I understand that,
- 59:51Speaker 6: you know, the Mundamie administration is also seeking your advice
- 59:54Speaker 6: on something. So while we're in Manhattan, I want to
- 59:57Speaker 6: just make sure that we know New forty two. Sitting
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: right next to council Member Gale Brewer is Russell Grantite.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: New forty two is this amazing gem in our community,
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: in our Broadway community that kind of introduces Broadway to
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: the younger folk.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: That is correct.
- 1:00:13Speaker 24: We are the oldest continuously operating theater in New York City.
- 1:00:17Speaker 24: New Victory was built in nineteen o two and has
- 1:00:19Speaker 24: never not been operational. And thirty years ago New forty
- 1:00:22Speaker 24: two took it over. And we're the only theater in
- 1:00:24Speaker 24: New York City solely dedicated to kids and families. And
- 1:00:28Speaker 24: we opened thirty years ago with a two dollars ticket
- 1:00:30Speaker 24: and we have never raised that price.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Wow. And how many families do you introduce to Broadway
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: on a yearly basis.
- 1:00:36Speaker 24: Somewhere between it depending upon the year, but around ninety thousand,
- 1:00:40Speaker 24: that's incredible.
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: And you have some great programming you have. You know,
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: every day I see some kids go there for either
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: I don't know, I don't want to say nursery school.
- 1:00:48Speaker 24: But it's sort of like dale we start we have
- 1:00:50Speaker 24: a baby and toddler program, so we want to start
- 1:00:53Speaker 24: them young, which you have to come because it is
- 1:00:55Speaker 24: hilarious to.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Watch Roadway tosts, Rudway totts exactly.
- 1:00:59Speaker 24: And then we sort of we go to about fifth grade,
- 1:01:01Speaker 24: and then at that point we sort of let them.
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: Then they go over to Inside Broadway with Michael Presser
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: who kind of like takes it from there. It's really
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: it's a fantastic way. So we're going to have to
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: take a break shortly, but I want to make sure
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: that we stay here in Manhattan because we do have
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: some other guests. We have in the studio. We have
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: Mike Burke, who of course we know from Statue Cruises.
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: So this is a place that starts in Lower Manhattan.
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: I know you can get the ferry from New Jersey,
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: but we're not going to talk about that tonight. But
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: starts in Lower Manhattan. And if you want to get
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: away from the you know, hustle and bustle, there is
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: no better place than hopping on a very crowded, crowded
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: ferry to do that.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: No, it's all good from.
- 1:01:41Speaker 25: Your lips of God's ears. They haven't been very crowded
- 1:01:43Speaker 25: of late, but we're hopeful. I mean, tourism is off,
- 1:01:46Speaker 25: but not terrible. Okay, you know NYC tourism A conventions
- 1:01:51Speaker 25: is finally recognizing the problem and hopefully the Mayor's office
- 1:01:56Speaker 25: will do something.
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: Well, you're probably feeling the brunt of what is happening,
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: which is our international visitors have dropped a little bit,
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: only by three percent.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: But that is a luge number in New York.
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: But the domestic is up. But how do we we
- 1:02:08Speaker 6: got to get the domestic folks.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: In February, so it's not going the other way, all right.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: So folks are Canadius, our listeners are the tri Staters.
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: We need you to make up for this gap. We
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: need you to do what you did after nine to eleven,
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: which was to go to the theater. We need you
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: for you to do what you did after COVID or
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: during COVID, which was to go out, even if you're uncomfortable,
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: go out. I want you guys to get down and
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: go to the Statue of Liberty Ferry which is Statue Cruises.
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: You can go to Ellis Island too. And you know what,
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: it's no longer cool to say I've never been to
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: the Statue.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Of Liberty when I never thought that.
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: We say it all the time. And you know what
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: you sound like, You sound like idiots. Get yourself to
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: the statue.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Thank you, Christian.
- 1:02:48Speaker 25: And with a value proposition, you get three boat rides,
- 1:02:50Speaker 25: two museums, two audio doors in the whole day.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Yeah. And if you know Mike personally, he sometimes gives
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: you a captain said, oh well, sorry, my bald head
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: is blinding everybody in the room.
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: Back up time square when we come back, are.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: You gonna throw the break. Can you go girl? No,
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: You're the big radio progner. Go Ahead Radio Night Live.
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: This is our fifth anniversary Fun Friday with Kevin mccaullaugh
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: Christy Nicholas. If we've got some special guests coming up,
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: don't go away.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Sight and Sound Films presents Benjamin Franklin for Everyone, Whitfield
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: A match made in Heaven, Oh, justin deal made in
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: a print shop. Two voices, My friends, do you want
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: to be free? One idea?
- 1:03:31Speaker 13: A constitution needs to speak to the heart of these people,
- 1:03:34Speaker 13: a new nation.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: You are the lightning bolt, George, I am just the
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: lightning rod. And who is the sauce fan?
- 1:03:40Speaker 11: A great Awakening in theaters this Easter A Great Awakening

- 1:05:36Speaker 28: Then Mark found tax relief advocates.

- 1:07:31Speaker 2: here for the last five years. And it's our fifth
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: anniversary special. I can't believe we made it to five years.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I thought Christine would walk out like on week two.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: I can't put up with him anymore. He's so unreasonable.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: But yeah, you're sure you are.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: You're still here at a Well, look, we're going to
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: continue the fun and we're going to go back to
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: Times Square because we have a whole brand new, fun,
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: old slate of new people. My goodness, I mean there's
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: a new building in Times Square and we have delphin
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: Ortiz to talk about that. What is that big thing
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: the ball is sitting on now? It looks so pretty
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: and shiny.
- 1:08:03Speaker 21: Well, first of all, happy anniversary.
- 1:08:05Speaker 31: Thank you.
- 1:08:07Speaker 21: Great to be part of the Times Square community.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Can grants on the new ball drop this year.
- 1:08:11Speaker 32: That was a beautiful constellation ball introduced to the world
- 1:08:15Speaker 32: just recently.
- 1:08:16Speaker 21: It's it's great to be the new the new kid,
- 1:08:21Speaker 21: new kit.
- 1:08:21Speaker 32: And though the building was built in nineteen oh four,
- 1:08:24Speaker 32: but it's been through several iterations. So now that we
- 1:08:28Speaker 32: have we're opening immersive experiences. Right We're the home of
- 1:08:31Speaker 32: the New Year's Eve ball, of course, but.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: You can still take some crystal home from that.
- 1:08:35Speaker 32: And you Yes, we are shortly to be receiving our
- 1:08:38Speaker 32: twenty twenty seven crystal. So we'll be beginning our crystal
- 1:08:42Speaker 32: exchange in the next next month or so in America.
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: What does that mean for our listeners? So you can't
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: So the ball is covered in crystal from where?
- 1:08:53Speaker 32: So they're Waterford crystals. Okay, five and eighty crystals. They
- 1:08:58Speaker 32: are the twenty twenty six crystals. And because of the
- 1:09:02Speaker 32: America to fifty, there's three crystals representing life, liberty, and happiness.
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: Nice.
- 1:09:08Speaker 21: So we will be.
- 1:09:10Speaker 32: Beginning a crystal exchange that will take place where guests
- 1:09:13Speaker 32: can purchase a ticket and go upstairs see the ball
- 1:09:16Speaker 32: up and close, which everyone is incredibly probably blown away, yeah,
- 1:09:21Speaker 32: blown away. In addition to that, they'll go and be
- 1:09:25Speaker 32: able to remove a crystal from the ball. Place they
- 1:09:28Speaker 32: can touch the ball. You can touch the ball. Wow,
- 1:09:32Speaker 32: remove a crystal from the ball. Place the twenty twenty
- 1:09:35Speaker 32: seven crystal on the ball, and then the twenty twenty
- 1:09:37Speaker 32: six crystal is there to keep Wow.
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: Okay, can we talk about like this is a special
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: experience and it's priceless. I understand that I would pay
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: anything to do something like that. But okay, what what's
- 1:09:50Speaker 6: what's it running?
- 1:09:52Speaker 33: Well, well, let's start with let's start with it's limited, right, Okay,
- 1:09:55Speaker 33: it's limited.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Once that's done, it's done.
- 1:09:58Speaker 32: Yeah, gone, right, So it rain which is between two
- 1:10:01Speaker 32: hundred and fifty and four hundred dollars wepen.
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: Okay, So when you if you get in early, is
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: it going to be less expensive?
- 1:10:08Speaker 10: Is that?
- 1:10:08Speaker 32: Like you had previews last year with twenty five and
- 1:10:12Speaker 32: we had a special price, but now that we're going
- 1:10:14Speaker 32: into our official crystal exchange.
- 1:10:16Speaker 21: That would be the pricing going forward, okay?
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: And then what else can keep limited?
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: Supplies act fast, folks. So this is one time square
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: that we're talking about that is correct. And what else
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: can someone do if they may not they might be
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: on a limited budget, but they want to be able
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: to see something special in.
- 1:10:35Speaker 32: Different Right now, we have our view deck that's available
- 1:10:38Speaker 32: for our guests to come and enjoy Time Square from our.

- 1:10:58Speaker 32: that we give it to the folks in Time Square
- 1:11:00Speaker 32: Alliance on New Year's Eve so they can throw it out.

- 1:11:36Speaker 2: You know, Well then you would be shown up for
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: the July fifth. Then that would be July fifth.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: You stay with me.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: I'll make sure you get there on time. Christine, we'll

- 1:14:28Speaker 2: Daniel Tiger was my favorite character in Uh mister Rogers. Yeah, yeah,

- 1:15:10Speaker 6: with the buffalo right now. I know John Kevelly's been
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: pushing that.
- 1:15:13Speaker 33: So yes, this is the ten year anniversary of designating
- 1:15:18Speaker 33: the Buffalo as the National Mammal by which WCS helped
- 1:15:21Speaker 33: to push back.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: In twenty sixteen, the buffalo was hunted to.
- 1:15:25Speaker 33: Almost near extinction, and we were able to rehabilitate and
- 1:15:31Speaker 33: propagate the buffalo at the Bronx Zoo, and we work
- 1:15:34Speaker 33: with indigenous communities across the country to repopulate the buffalo.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: So every buffalo that you see has its traces. I
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: was about to say, it's fair to say that the
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: buffaloes that survive now all owe their existence to the Bronx' Yes.
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: All right, all hell cal Valley.

- 1:19:10Speaker 8: If you're thinking about buying a home or refinancing the
- 1:19:13Speaker 8: one you already have, let me suggest something that can
- 1:19:16Speaker 8: make the process a whole lot easier. Call First Christian Mortgage.
- 1:19:20Speaker 8: They're a faith based direct lender, and that's important. It
- 1:19:23Speaker 8: means you're working directly with the people who are handling
- 1:19:26Speaker 8: your loan. What I really like about their approach is
- 1:19:28Speaker 8: how they take the time with you. They'll sit down,
- 1:19:31Speaker 8: explain your mortgage options, answer your questions, and help you
- 1:19:34Speaker 8: understand exactly what makes sense for your situation. And they
- 1:19:38Speaker 8: even offer a free mortgage consultation so you can get
- 1:19:41Speaker 8: solid guidance before making a big financial decision. So if
- 1:19:45Speaker 8: a home purchase or refinance is on your mind, reach
- 1:19:47Speaker 8: out and talk with them. As for Ryan and the

- 1:20:29Speaker 13: Here's Kevin mccollor.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Welcome back. It's Radio Night Live. It's Fun Friday. It's
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: our fifth anniversary. I can't believe that we made it
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: to five years. Christine hasn't left me yet, not yet,
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: not yet, and she's in a very few class of
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: women that can say that, Like, after five years, I
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: think most people are usually done with me, but you're
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: you're still here, so I have you've been married to Amy. Oh, well,
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: she's she's truly special. Yes, this is twenty plus, we're,
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: you know, almost twenty five. All right, she's a keeper.
- 1:20:55Speaker 6: Yeah, and I love how you on your birthday this
- 1:20:58Speaker 6: week you said you were the lucky person ever you
- 1:21:01Speaker 6: don't deserve.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: I believe that every single day of my life.
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: Every husband should think that way.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: Well, not all wives are her, but I'm saying I'm
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: the luckiest man on the plane. Anyway, it's not about us.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: What it kind of is it's our fifth anniversary. But
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: we've got a lot, We've got a lot of new
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: friends in the room, so let's too well too.
- 1:21:18Speaker 6: And look, there were two newsmakers in this last week.
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: I have to say. One was NYC Tourism and Conventions
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: formerly NYZN Company. We have Tiffany with us, and Tiffany's
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: been on the show. I think this is your fifth
- 1:21:30Speaker 6: time on the show. But this week was pretty special.
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: So tell us about some of the We've already talked
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: a little bit about the international visitors. We had a
- 1:21:39Speaker 6: couple of folks that said that they feel it already,
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: but they have full faith that NYC Tourism is going
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: to whip up the storm and make sure that those
- 1:21:47Speaker 6: international visitors come back to New York City. So what
- 1:21:49Speaker 6: say you, Tiffany? Every day, all day, every day, all day.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: This is what you do though we were doing.
- 1:21:54Speaker 34: Now, we have had a great week this earlier this
- 1:21:58Speaker 34: week we announced our tourism members for twenty twenty five,
- 1:22:01Speaker 34: so we have about sixty five million visitors come in.
- 1:22:05Speaker 34: The upside is that domestic travel was up, so we're
- 1:22:07Speaker 34: very excited about that. So for anybody anywhere in the
- 1:22:11Speaker 34: US who is listening, please come on and come.
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: On by your cousins from OHI exact.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: How does sixty five million compared to twenty nineteen. It's
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: not it's almost at twenty eighteen. We're almost there. Yeah,
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: we're talking like a few hundred thousand offs.
- 1:22:25Speaker 34: So by next year twenty twenty six, we're expecting close
- 1:22:28Speaker 34: to sixty six million.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: We're in.
- 1:22:29Speaker 34: We're inching, we're inching up back toward our pre pandemocratic.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: We're going to get there. We're absolutely going to get there.
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: All right, Well, you've got some great programs coming up,
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: so anything that we can do. I know you just
- 1:22:38Speaker 6: finished with winter outing, but you've got an amazing summer
- 1:22:41Speaker 6: coming up.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: But we do.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: But now this time of year, the spring is when
- 1:22:44Speaker 6: we should be inviting our friends and family from all
- 1:22:47Speaker 6: over to come here. For sure, they get more information
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: on how to book a trip to New York.
- 1:22:51Speaker 34: Well, your first place to start is NYC tourism dot com.
- 1:22:54Speaker 34: That is your best source, your source of truth for
- 1:22:57Speaker 34: planning your trip to New York City.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: And you know, we're certainly excited.
- 1:23:01Speaker 34: About the World Cup coming up and about America two
- 1:23:03Speaker 34: fifty for this year.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: So those are big things that we're thinking about.
- 1:23:07Speaker 34: But you know, in my opinion, it's always a good
- 1:23:09Speaker 34: time to come to New York City no matter what.
- 1:23:12Speaker 34: So if you're coming, you know, a lot of folks
- 1:23:13Speaker 34: are looking at Easter week and it's spring break for
- 1:23:16Speaker 34: a lot of families and things like that, And so
- 1:23:18Speaker 34: of course New York is a great place to visit.
- 1:23:20Speaker 34: And soon the leaves are going to be back on
- 1:23:21Speaker 34: the trees and it's going to be great to be
- 1:23:23Speaker 34: outside and be in the park and go to the
- 1:23:24Speaker 34: botanical gardens.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: So I could go on.
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: Well, and by the way, I know, everybody thinks Washington,
- 1:23:30Speaker 6: you know, has the best cherry blossoms, but I don't
- 1:23:32Speaker 6: know if they've been to Central Park because around a
- 1:23:35Speaker 6: week or two from now, those cherry blossoms in Central
- 1:23:37Speaker 6: Park are going to pop and they are the most
- 1:23:39Speaker 6: amazing beautiful, Like it's seventy second Street, that entrance on
- 1:23:42Speaker 6: the east side. So who needs Washington, right, I mean.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Come to New York.
- 1:23:47Speaker 6: We got it all, all right, we have it all.
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: I know somebody who knows a little bit about Washington
- 1:23:50Speaker 6: and we might need Washington for a big project that
- 1:23:53Speaker 6: he's working on. That would be Alex Washburn. We welcome
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: you back to Radio Night Live with the assistance of Ali,
- 1:23:59Speaker 6: your son.
- 1:24:00Speaker 35: I appreciate you, who tried to literally wrestle the microphone
- 1:24:03Speaker 35: from you.
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: Yes, how are we doing on that plan that you
- 1:24:07Speaker 6: put together years ago?
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: With that incredible with incredible, beautiful drawing. Well, thank you all. Well,
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: now I am in the middle of a procurement.
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: Oh I can't speak. You're in the quiet period.
- 1:24:18Speaker 36: I think the quiet period is. But luckily my eight
- 1:24:21Speaker 36: year old son can say anything he'd like.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Right, go ahead.
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: What do we got going on Penn Station?
- 1:24:26Speaker 37: So it is going pretty well as much as I've heard.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: Okay, So Ali, I have a question, thanks for the details.
- 1:24:40Speaker 6: Would you prefer a beautiful park or would you prefer
- 1:24:44Speaker 6: a like a steamy, sweaty, smelly little hall council? Which one?
- 1:24:52Speaker 6: Would you like a gorgeous park with a fountain or
- 1:24:55Speaker 6: would you like like disgusting old hallways and Penn Station.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: I would prefer a very classical.
- 1:25:05Speaker 23: Park and train station rather than a crappy old hall.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Allie, let me ask you a better question. How cool
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: was it to see your dad's drawings in the newspaper.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: I did not look at the news. Oh well, I
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: thought they were cool. Well, I think my dad showed
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: me once, but I they were actually pretty good.
- 1:25:28Speaker 6: Yeah, Okay, So I think Allie's being modest because he
- 1:25:32Speaker 6: probably wasn't born at the time that Alex Washerman and
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: I don't think he was during this interview and substitute
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: for his dad's Moynahan train hall. So this is the
- 1:25:40Speaker 6: gentleman that got that all moving forward and now is
- 1:25:44Speaker 6: working on with a group that is trying to transform
- 1:25:49Speaker 6: Penn Station into the classical, wonderful place that it was
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: back before my transformed us those time. Maybe and Michael
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: Presser's time, they probably remember and Jane thank you, so
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: they probably remember the beautiful Pen station. All I can
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: base it on is Grand Central, which is absolutely gorgeous.
- 1:26:06Speaker 6: So if you can make this into a Grand Central
- 1:26:10Speaker 6: type of thing, is this possible or better absolute possible?
- 1:26:13Speaker 36: And let me actually talk about morning hand train Hall
- 1:26:15Speaker 36: that I can talk about it because that's what I
- 1:26:18Speaker 36: I've been married.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: And we're going to tease the audience with that and
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: we're going to come right back. Don't go anywhere. SEEQ

- 1:27:30Speaker 2: I'm speaking with Danny Patino and we're talking about food
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: for the poor and feeding children this month. Danny, what
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: are these children experiencing. Our bodies are miraculous.
- 1:27:40Speaker 38: They will adapt to altitude, to temperature, to stress, but
- 1:27:43Speaker 38: there's one thing that they should never adapt to, and
- 1:27:46Speaker 38: that is hunger. And we met a young girl named
- 1:27:48Speaker 38: Daniela and I'll do it us. And she's built a
- 1:27:50Speaker 38: tolerance to not eating. I'm gonna let that sit in
- 1:27:53Speaker 38: for a moment. She's built a tolerance to noise, she's
- 1:27:56Speaker 38: built a tolerance to discomfort, to inconvenience, but to hunger.
- 1:28:00Speaker 38: It's the body's ultimate surrender. That's when empty becomes the
- 1:28:03Speaker 38: new normal, and that tolerance isn't strengthful. It's a survival mode,
- 1:28:07Speaker 38: and it's the body learning to function on less than
- 1:28:10Speaker 38: what it needs. And it's a childhood adapting to scarcity
- 1:28:14Speaker 38: instead of abundance. And once that's built, that tolerance is
- 1:28:17Speaker 38: going to just shape everything from growth, learning and hope eight.

- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Welcome back. We are running out of time. I can't
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: believe how fast the last two hours have gone. It's

- 1:30:32Speaker 2: I wouldn't have it any other way. And I say
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: this all the time. This is my favorite hour on
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: radio every single week. And I got to.
- 1:30:39Speaker 6: Work with you Bulo kind of you know, she's pretty hot,
- 1:30:42Speaker 6: and Lindy's hilarious, Travel Tuesday with Blo awesome.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: And Imron on the on the Legal night When I
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: need a lawyer, he's the right guy. Now. We were
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: talking with maybe New York's greatest architect, Alex Washburn before
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: we went to break and he's he's he's If he
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: gets his procurement procured and he does all the things
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: that need to be done, he will leave a lasting
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: mark on this city that very few people in the
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: history of the city will have done. And Alex, that
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: is to completely remake, and I would say, go far
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: beyond where original the original station was. It's going to
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: look so much.
- 1:31:20Speaker 36: It's going to change more open, and it's going to
- 1:31:22Speaker 36: change New York. It's going to change the way you
- 1:31:23Speaker 36: enter and how happy you are when you come, and
- 1:31:26Speaker 36: it's going to But it all started with Senator morning Hand.
- 1:31:29Speaker 36: So that I can't talk about the new Penn Station.
- 1:31:31Speaker 36: I'm cured, I understood, But I used to work for
- 1:31:34Speaker 36: centat morning Hand. He sent me up to do the
- 1:31:36Speaker 36: morning Hand train Hall turned out well, but the reason
- 1:31:40Speaker 36: he wanted to do it was not to get his
- 1:31:41Speaker 36: name on it. The reason he wanted to do it
- 1:31:43Speaker 36: was to prove to New Yorkers that we can build
- 1:31:46Speaker 36: great things. We did it with morning Hand, now it's
- 1:31:48Speaker 36: time to do it with.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: Penn, all right.
- 1:31:50Speaker 6: So, and if you want more information, since Alex is
- 1:31:53Speaker 6: prohibited from talking about this, there's an amazing article in
- 1:31:57Speaker 6: the New York Post that was written about two years ago.
- 1:31:59Speaker 6: Just google it Steve Cuzo and Grand Penn Community Alliance,
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: and you're going to see all of the videos and
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: all of the plans, the drawings, what they envisioned for
- 1:32:09Speaker 6: a Penn Station, which of course is creating a beautiful
- 1:32:12Speaker 6: park where Madison Square Garden currently sits. But don't worry
- 1:32:15Speaker 6: for your Ranger and Nick fans. We've got a place
- 1:32:18Speaker 6: for that too, which is going to be bigger and better.
- 1:32:21Speaker 6: And I just came back from Las Vegas, and I
- 1:32:23Speaker 6: got to give a shout out to the to Jimmy Dolan,
- 1:32:26Speaker 6: what he put together with that sphere is just amazing.
- 1:32:29Speaker 6: I'm not even an Eagles fan. I went because of
- 1:32:32Speaker 6: the husband likes the Eagles fan. He's Eagles.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: But then you see the dead there too.
- 1:32:36Speaker 6: Dead and coo, which blew me away. And I didn't
- 1:32:39Speaker 6: even have to take anything other than a glass of
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: wine and it still.
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: Blew me away.
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: But when you saw that, when I saw the Eagles,
- 1:32:46Speaker 6: it was great. So Steve Cuzo, your work at the
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: New York Post is just prolific. We love how you
- 1:32:51Speaker 6: write about not only uh, the realty, but also food
- 1:32:57Speaker 6: and you're joined.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: But I want to ask something related to alex and
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: that is, don't we have room on the West side
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: for a sphere like spot? No, you know, it's funny.
- 1:33:05Speaker 40: I talked I talked to jim Dolan about this a
- 1:33:08Speaker 40: while ago after they got kicked out of lunch. Well,
- 1:33:11Speaker 40: they withdrew their plan to have a sphere in London
- 1:33:14Speaker 40: after they got so much blowback from the local authorities
- 1:33:17Speaker 40: and all sorts of things. And I asked him, how
- 1:33:19Speaker 40: about a sphere in New York and he said something
- 1:33:22Speaker 40: like thanks, but uh, you know, I want to live
- 1:33:26Speaker 40: the rest.
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: Of my life, something like New Yorker's deserve a sphere,
- 1:33:31Speaker 6: they really do. And you know what else New Yorkers deserve.
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: Steve Cuzo, he's been on our show for so how
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: many times?
- 1:33:38Speaker 6: I think he's been on our show for over twenty times?
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: Since that's impossible. You are a championship twenty. This is
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: your twenty first appearance on Radio Night Live. Thank you
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: you are a coach champion tonight with Tom Harris. We
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: we can't go to video here right well, Radio you're
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: on your video now. There are a few yeah, millions
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: of listeners can yeah that one. And you've been officially
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: flavor flaved tonight.
- 1:34:03Speaker 40: It's like an old thing, sort of like a Solis
- 1:34:06Speaker 40: cup that it is. It is wine around my neck
- 1:34:08Speaker 40: on Hi. Yes, that well, I would take your recommendation
- 1:34:10Speaker 40: on that. And for sure, you guys told me that
- 1:34:12Speaker 40: I was the first guest on your show when you
- 1:34:14Speaker 40: started fun Friday five years ago.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: Yep, honestly I forgot. I didn't remember. It's been so long.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: You and Joe Benicossa the same night.
- 1:34:23Speaker 6: We also have a little something for Jane Cuso because
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: she's our number one fan.
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: Well she has to live with Steve Cuzou. So for
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: that alone, she's earned something that looks like one of
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: those chocolate things. It looks like one of those chocolate things. Careful, careful,
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: Steve might write a review about it.
- 1:34:39Speaker 6: Into it, Steve, But what you can bite into is
- 1:34:41Speaker 6: this fifteen bite hot dog.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: Thank you, I just said one bite of it. I'm
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: already full.
- 1:34:46Speaker 6: Andrew Roman and Ben Grossman from Fireman Hospitality in particular,
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: this is from the Brooklyn Diner. This is the only
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: place you can get this is a fifteen bite.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Hot dogs and I have talked about it legendly on
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: the show.
- 1:34:59Speaker 40: I would take that, Kevin, if I was sure that
- 1:35:01Speaker 40: it's a real hot talk is absolute?
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Is it looks like a sculpture. We're gonna we're going
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: to get together afterwards. You'll you'll enjoy it. Uh, what
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: do you think? Alex can't talk about it, But what
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: do you think about the long term future of what
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: is going to happen there in that spot?
- 1:35:18Speaker 40: You mean Station west Side, Penn Station, God knows. I mean,
- 1:35:23Speaker 40: I wish you the best. You had a phenomenal proposal.
- 1:35:26Speaker 40: We ran the images, the renderings in the post a
- 1:35:29Speaker 40: couple of years ago, and they're just.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: You know, everyone who makes office is blown away by them.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: Whether or not, you know, that.
- 1:35:36Speaker 40: Can be nudged through the you know, the lobby, rent
- 1:35:41Speaker 40: the Maelstrom of New York City and state approval processes,
- 1:35:46Speaker 40: real competing real estate interests.
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: Who knows.
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: But it's a federal project. So when you think about
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: it that way, don't we have a lot of steam,
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: you know with what with the White House and you
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: know he wants to get something done. I mean, I'm
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: just saying it's a federal project. And Kathy Hokeel, our governor, decided,
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: you know, two years ago, to basically give this project
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: to President Trump. So is there a chance.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a chance.
- 1:36:15Speaker 40: I mean, I'm not a I'm not a magician or
- 1:36:17Speaker 40: a soothsayer.
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: I mean, all I know is that the.
- 1:36:20Speaker 40: Fact we had all these federal pledges guaranteed for the
- 1:36:23Speaker 40: Second Avenue subway, for the new tunnel under the Hudson River,
- 1:36:27Speaker 40: and whether we still have those.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: Anymore, who knows.
- 1:36:31Speaker 40: Who knows where we will be three years from now,
- 1:36:33Speaker 40: But let's hope to be wonderful thing.
- 1:36:36Speaker 6: Well, we hope so too. So let's talk about food,
- 1:36:39Speaker 6: Steve Cuzo. Since you are here, you've got to let
- 1:36:43Speaker 6: our listeners and us more importantly us, we want to
- 1:36:46Speaker 6: know where we can go to dinner this weekend, Like
- 1:36:48Speaker 6: what's hot?
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: What's new? Where have you been the.
- 1:36:50Speaker 40: Hot places you won't be able to get into, Jane,
- 1:36:53Speaker 40: where we've been lately?
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: Are you trying to remember you went to trying to remember?
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: Double knot right?
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: Double knots right, double knots to it's yeah, yeah, And
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: you weren't allowed to talk about it the last time
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: you were on with us, but I think it's only
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: because Pie ran.
- 1:37:07Speaker 40: It ran, Yeah, it was up online a couple of
- 1:37:09Speaker 40: days ago, so talk to us about it. And it's
- 1:37:12Speaker 40: a sort of a Japanese steakhouse, but it's got a
- 1:37:15Speaker 40: lot more than steak. It's also a Japanese sushi house
- 1:37:19Speaker 40: and Robota house, and you know, it's all kinds of houses.
- 1:37:22Speaker 40: Most large scale restaurants these days, throwing the kitchen sink,
- 1:37:27Speaker 40: so to speak. And these guys are from Philadelphia and
- 1:37:31Speaker 40: his name is Michael Schulsen and they've got fifteen different
- 1:37:36Speaker 40: restaurants in Philadelphia and Jane and I discovered Double Knot
- 1:37:40Speaker 40: when we were in Miami a year ago.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: There's a Double Knot. It just opened there.
- 1:37:45Speaker 40: And we went there having no particular expectations other than
- 1:37:49Speaker 40: likely well mediocrity, another big barn restaurant with a lot
- 1:37:53Speaker 40: of different kinds of dishes, and we were blown away.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: It was great.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: So one thumbs up on Double Knock. Yeah, got to
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: take a quick break. We only have four minutes left
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: of Radio NightLive, the fifth anniversary edition. Stay with us

- 1:40:36Speaker 2: Final four minutes of our fifth anniversary.
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: I can't believe it, Rady on that line.
- 1:40:40Speaker 35: We made it four hundred plus guests, more miles of
- 1:40:46Speaker 35: tips and tourism ideas, and we can possibly fathom in Christine.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: It all comes down to this as a very special
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: guest working with young people. Yep, the really best part
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: of New York, the future of New York in to
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: do the honors well.
- 1:41:00Speaker 6: Side Broadway is a New York institution and it wouldn't
- 1:41:02Speaker 6: have been possible without Michael Presser, the founder and president
- 1:41:05Speaker 6: of Inside Broadway. We've covered it before with creating the Magic,
- 1:41:09Speaker 6: But Michael Presser, what's going on with Inside Broadway.
- 1:41:12Speaker 41: Well, we're finishing up the school year because we're coming
- 1:41:15Speaker 41: into the home treasure now all done. And what's coming
- 1:41:19Speaker 41: up though on the horizon is something really great beginning
- 1:41:23Speaker 41: in the next fiscal.
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: Year, which would be July.
- 1:41:25Speaker 41: Actually, we will be celebrating our forty fifth anniversary congratulation.
- 1:41:33Speaker 41: So that brings us all the way back to nineteen
- 1:41:36Speaker 41: eighty two and cats.
- 1:41:37Speaker 6: Ah, the original, the original, Yeah, now, the one on
- 1:41:40Speaker 6: Gag right as they say.
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: Now and forever.
- 1:41:42Speaker 41: Okay, but we're already talking about some anniversary projects for
- 1:41:47Speaker 41: the year.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: Want to make a.
- 1:41:49Speaker 41: Really big a really big to do out of forty five. Sure,
- 1:41:54Speaker 41: it's a great honor to be able to have done
- 1:41:56Speaker 41: all of these programs for all these kids, we think
- 1:42:00Speaker 41: about three million incidentally.
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: Over all those years.
- 1:42:03Speaker 41: So we want to let people know about about forty
- 1:42:06Speaker 41: five years of service to the city and to the
- 1:42:09Speaker 41: children of.
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: A get started with Michael I mentioned Katz.
- 1:42:13Speaker 41: We did start in nineteen eighty two when Benard Jacobs,
- 1:42:17Speaker 41: who was the late president of the Schubert Organization, asked
- 1:42:20Speaker 41: me to put together a student ticket program for the
- 1:42:24Speaker 41: Broadway musical Cats, which was just opening in New York.
- 1:42:28Speaker 41: And remarkably, the commitment from Schubert for the student ticket
- 1:42:32Speaker 41: program began the first week the Cats opened, which was
- 1:42:36Speaker 41: in October of nineteen eighty two, and remarkably it lasted
- 1:42:40Speaker 41: the entire length of its run here in New York,
- 1:42:44Speaker 41: which was eighteen and a half years.
- 1:42:46Speaker 6: So how many tickets did they give you? And they
- 1:42:48Speaker 6: were for free to bring kids in.
- 1:42:50Speaker 41: The idea that mister Jacobs had was that fifty students
- 1:42:55Speaker 41: would come each Wednesday matinee from a different high school.
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: It was high schools then now.
- 1:43:00Speaker 41: We go from kindergarten all the way of the high schools,
- 1:43:03Speaker 41: and that it would be children that had never been
- 1:43:06Speaker 41: to a Broadway show before that maybe had never even
- 1:43:09Speaker 41: been to Times Square before.
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: So that was the basics upon which we were founded.
- 1:43:15Speaker 41: We of course do all kinds of other things now,
- 1:43:17Speaker 41: including teaching artists program you mentioned, are creating the Magic program,
- 1:43:21Speaker 41: which is about theater and working in the theater.
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: Behind the curtain. All these amazing jobs that these kids
- 1:43:27Speaker 6: who have, even if they can't act, sing or dance,
- 1:43:30Speaker 6: there's plenty.
- 1:43:30Speaker 41: Dude, such an incredible and of course our acting company,
- 1:43:35Speaker 41: which incidentally is about to celebrate its own thirtieth anniversary, Wow,
- 1:43:40Speaker 41: probably one of the larger children's theater companies on the
- 1:43:44Speaker 41: east coast of our country. So we have a lot,
- 1:43:47Speaker 41: you know, of a glorious history. And forty five is
- 1:43:51Speaker 41: a pretty good number.
- 1:43:52Speaker 6: It's a great number of congratulation files. We're only five,
- 1:43:56Speaker 6: you're forty five. But it's been great five years together, Kevin.
- 1:44:00Speaker 6: I think I'll stick around as.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: Long as Thank you. Christy. I'll have you for as
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: long as you'll be here. And I just want to say,
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: speaking of cats, Ab, you're gonna have to say this
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: out loud. Do we have Betty Buckley confirmed for a
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: future appearance on Radio Night Live. Wow, Betty Buckley, of
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: it's pretty good the Cat's cast will be with us.
- 1:44:19Speaker 6: So before we know. I want to give a shout
- 1:44:21Speaker 6: out to Caroline kirsh oh Caroline. Caroline's not here, but
- 1:44:25Speaker 6: great Charles is here.
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: You don't look like Caroline, but we want to.
- 1:44:28Speaker 6: Wish you the best New York Comedy Festival.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: We love it. It's not till.
- 1:44:32Speaker 6: November, but we're going to wait to hear more about
- 1:44:34Speaker 6: it next time.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Thank you, great La, thank you for listening. Thank you
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: for making it a great five years. Until next time,
